Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, living the dream
once again here on the final Sunday of the NFL
regulars season. This is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios, and yes, we
are about to kick off six games right now. Packers
at the Vikings, Browns at the Bengals, Cowboys at the Giants,
Titans at the Jaguars, Colts of the Texans.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
And yes, this has never happened before. I don't believe.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Two teams completely out of the playoffs deciding who is
going to win a division title. That of course, will
be the Saints at the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Vita.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Here we are, final weekend of the regular season the NFL,
and as I mentioned right at the top here this
Falcon Saints game, this is really never happened before. Let's
explain again after the Buccaneers defeated the Panthers yesterday. If
the Falcons win, the Carolina Panthers will be champions of
(01:04):
the NFC South. If the New Orleans Saints win or tie,
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be champions of the NFC South.
Either way, the champion of that division will be an
eight and nine team, and we'll be hosting a playoff game,
most likely against the Rams. Rams win today, they have
(01:26):
to win big game for the Rams against the Cardinals.
If they win, they will be the five seed, dropping
the forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
After the loss of Seattle down to the sixth seed.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
So we do have some things going on today to
finally get the playoff field set for next week.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
First of all, Happy New Year to all of our
listeners of the End Zone radio show for the last
seventeen weeks. And as my illustrious Hall of Fame to
be inducted pretty here soon in about nine days. Wow,
in about nine days, he's going into the Hall of Fame.
I'll be there looking good, feeling good, smelling good as
I always do to support my guy and network a
little bit, you know, kiss, you know, shake hands, kiss
the little babies, like you just so eloquently pointed out.
(02:04):
Man there, there's it's nothing today, but it's everything today.
It really is. And when you think about what the
season has come down to, and you said, like we
got a game where neither team can go to the playoffs,
but they will decide another team who doesn't even play
today going to the playoffs. They're all sitting home all
(02:28):
fifty three men on each roster, of course, with all
the coaches and all the other you know, franchise personnel
to see in rooting for opposite sides today. But first
of all, yesterday Carolina got hosed. I just want to
make sure I thought that out there anybody that watched
that game. Carolina got hosed, and it almost felt like
here we are again. We need Sunday to matter in
(02:50):
Week eighteen of the NFL because Carolina should have won
the game yesterday. They should have won the game. They
did it. They self destructed a little bit early on
in that game on but it did not help that
some of those calls. And I'm listening to Dan Orlowski,
Lewis Riddick and Chris Fawler, three guys that I don't
think anybody in this business would say they don't know football.
(03:14):
I don't think there's anybody with a good mind that
would say those three gentlemen don't know football. All three
of those guys are damn good at what they do.
And they were all like, okay, yeah, what, what's what's
going on? But you know, it is what it is.
But I look down this, this this slate of games today,
and I could find two things that's important about every
(03:38):
single game, and I did, because there's no such thing
in football, Steve as meaningless games. There's no such thing
as that. That is such a radio term and a
sports talk TV term. Every game in this sport matters,
and they all matter. Look at the Texas and coach
Texas are still playing for that division. They can still
(03:59):
win that vision depended upon with Jacksonville. Now they're in
the playoffs. But you much rather play a home guys,
whether they have to go on the road. I think
the Texas can travel with the running game and their defense.
But a lot today also got Miles Garrett half a sack. Man,
he needs that.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Half a sack after, of course Aaron Rodgers famously avoided him.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
I will say this for Joe Burrow today.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
He's made it clear that he will not try to
avoid him, that if he gets sacked, who gets sacked.
He's not gonna do with Aaron Rodgers so obviously did
and last week, and of course remember that's tonight. That's
the one game where it's winner take all tonight with
the Steelers hosting the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
It's more than that, man, I think tonight the loser
loses their coach and their quarterback.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I want to get over the see that all right
over the course of the show today. By the way,
Greg Olsen's going to be joining us, which is good
news for you because he's doing the Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Greg pat DRAMs.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Are still in the running technically for the number one
overall seed. If how the Chargers, who are sitting everybody,
pulls the upset against the Broncos. Not likely but not happening,
But that's a possibility. But I'm sure you want to
ask Greg about the future of the Dolphins. So this
is when you talk about things on the line.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Let's go back.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
You mentioned the Colts Texans game that is underway right now,
Shane Steiken. You know, it seems a little harsh that
you would blame Shane Stichen for this Colts collapse, but
understand this. You have new ownership in Indianapolis, true, and
so they may decide to go in a completely different direction.
(05:37):
So you know, this is a team that started eight
and two. Daniel Jones was in the MVP conversation.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
He gets hurt and the bottom falls out, and well,
for a while there it looked like he was in
the front runner situation.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
So one of the things we we'll sort of talk
about today are coaches on the hot seat Browns at
the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
I mean, gone Stefanski. Is there an argument that keep Stefanski.
I've been saying it for three months sitting here, Gone,
and it's not a sure door thing. He's not a
good head coach. This franchise is not an NFL Coach
of the Year two years ago. Two years ago. You
get one. Listen, Even the sun shines on the dogs,
(06:19):
you know what. Every now and then, like jay Z said,
even a trash can gets a state from time to time.
That does not mean that it's sustainable. It does not
mean that that's what it is. A bad cook can
make a good meal once a year. Someone who can't
cook can give you something that you taste every now
and then and go, Okay, that was pretty good, man.
It doesn't mean you're gonna hire him as your private chef.
(06:41):
He Stefanski is gone. I've been saying it for three months.
That's all I gotta say about.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
That, all right Again, Firing coaches is easy finding the
right replacement. By the way, a one name that has
been bantered about now over the last couple of days
as a possible NFL head coach candidate is none other
than Philip Rivers, the high school coach after his re
run with the Colts, is now suddenly on people's list.
(07:09):
Here's what I'll say about Philip Rivers, and here's the
hard thing it would be for Philip Rivers to be
a head coach in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
Is he is a savant. Okay, understand what Philip Rivers
is and comes from a savit. This is coming from me,
and I'm a savant about other things with sports stats
and everything else. When you are that obsessed with something
as Philip Rivers is with football, not everybody is at
that level. And so when you're a head coach trying
(07:41):
to relate your.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Obsession with something to someone that is not of that level,
that creates a problem because you just.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Do not relate to them. And that would be my
concern for Philip Rivers.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
It's not that Philip Rivers doesn't know football or he
can't be a leader in terms of being a head
coach in the NFL, but it's about relatability. He would
expect everyone to have that same level of commitment obsession.
Twenty four to seven and it's just not real. Well,
it's not about being wrong. I mean, there are the
(08:17):
Peyton Mannings of the world. There were certain players, certain
quarterbacks especially, and we're really talking about the quarterback position.
They carry that obsession to the extreme, which is part
of why they became so great. They live at twenty
four to sevens.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
That is it, that's life.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
You remember this when Philip Rivers when the Chargers moved
from San Diego to Los Angeles. Obviously his family lived
in San Diego, so he had this custom bus that
he would take from San Diego to La for Gaines
practices whatever.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
And inside this huge custom bus was a theater and
the entire time he would be watching film and everything.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
And this is what he does all the time. So
I again, would I'd love to see him. I think
he'd be a hoot to be a head coach in
the National Football League, But relatability would just be a
real question. Not any fault of his own, it's just
how most players are.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I don't know spun this day and age in the NFL.
I'll put it on it. I'll put this out there
right now. If he gets an interview, he's gonna get
hired by somebody. Oh, he'll impress if he gets If
Philip Rivers gets an interview from any team, multiple teams,
somebody is going to fall in love with this guy's ideas,
(09:40):
his savantness, his cerebralness, his sadisticness about the game of football.
And you gotta have that. You always tell people you
gotta be wired or certain way to play and coach
this game. It's not for everybody. That's why we always
say he's a great coordinator. He's just not a good
head coach because you gotta be wired a certain way
(10:01):
to be a head coach. You gotta be wired a
certain way to want to crash your body into another
human being for eighteen straight weeks, knowing you can get paralyzed,
you can tear ligaments, you can break bones, you can
do all types of things. Just a week of winding
back to Sefanski, just really quick, I get tired of
hearing about coach of the year because Flacco saved his ass. Okay,
so let's just make sure we get full concert. Yeah
(10:22):
he went, he did it.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
He got credit for making Flacco that quarterback.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Coming on, Well, then why don't we give all the
other coaches credit when Flacco goes to these teams and
it's been doing what he's been doing. Flaco got traded
in the middle of the season, goes to Cincinnati, what
he threw for four hundred yards his first game out
with it, Nobody went and go, wow, Zach Taylor, that
was such a clever move one Taylors coach. Yeah, exactly
to go get Flacco and that that's enough on to face.
(10:50):
I just want to make sure we get just full
context of this coach of the year, Yeah, coach of
the year, but right now it's a what have you
done for me lately? Bitness? But with Philip Rivers and
some of these other coaches, like tonight, I really feel,
I really feel, man, the loser of this game, they're
gonna lose their coach and their quarter well they they
could both lose their coach.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
We're gonna get into, obviously, the whole dynamic between Mike
Tomlin and John Harbaugh.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
A couple of quick scores early on.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Right now, Texans get the first score of the game,
three nothing field goal there over the Colts. Vikings three
nothing over the Packers with the field goal by the way,
JJ McCarthy's showed right.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Now, three for three thirty nine yards.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
By the way, Justin Jefferson gave him a public stamp
of approval. Say, McCarthy is our quarterback guys all year,
and you know how McCarthy rewarded him all three of
those passes to JJ. All right, so they have three
for three nine yards and the Vikings get the early
three nothing league. We're keeping an eye right now on
the Saints and the Falcons. And do we have a turnover?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
No?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Cam Wardoll scored also for Tennessee game. Cam Ward got befure.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
We get him there privately, all right, seven nothing Titans
on the road against the Jaguars again, Jacks this one,
and right there is an inner reception thrown by Kirk Cousins, who,
by the way, apparently is under the weather and is
playing anyway. Obviously in a big game that really doesn't
affect these two teams.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
It's simple.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
If the Falcons win, Carolina Panthers win the division, If
the Saints win or tie, Tampa Bay wins that division game, Oh,
it means an.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Amazing You know what Kurt's playing today under the weather.
He's trying to find a home for next year because
he's gonna get cut. He is gonna get he's gonna
get cut. Here, I'm trying to put out good tape
and and I applauded the coaching staff for saying, hey,
go put some tape out, some last minute tape out
there for your future.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
All Right, So we're gonna go over a lot of
the playoff possibilities. By the way, next week, well we'll
break it down for you on the schedule for next
week with the wild Card Round. We've got all the
games going on today. It's a confusing day, right. We
got six games in the morning, seven in the afternoon,
and then the big matchup tonight between the Ravens and
the Steelers, Final Sunday of the NFL regular season.

First and goal to seven Hollered stands awards, right, cans
and shotgun. He'll hand it, no, I'll fake to Tony
can't keeps it himself. He's at the fire. He turns
the corner, dives to the end zone. That Titans touchdowns
cam Lord dove to the end zone and gets the touchdown.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
That's WGFX one oh four point five Titans Radio Network.
Titans with the early seventh one, but the Jags just
scored touchdown passed by Trevor Lawrence the Washington twenty three yards,
so we're an extra point away from tying up that game.
Speaker 1 (14:22):

(14:44):
So there's a lot of things up for grabs today
as far as still division titles, seating in the playoffs,
and just mentioned Jacksonville tying up that game against the Titans.
If the Jags and Texans both win, Jags win the division.
If the Jags and Texans both lose, Jags win the division.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
But if the.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Jags lose and the Texans win, the Texans would move
up and win the division. Jags will be dropped down
to a wildcard spot. We mentioned the Chargers a little
bit earlier vj They're on the road against the Broncos
and they are resting everyone, which, by the way, is
the right thing to do, especially with Justin Herbert.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
He's not healthy.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
You want to try to get him as healthy as
you possibly can. Problem for the Chargers is if they
lose that game, which they should, and the Bills win
at home against the Jets, that would drop the Chargers
down to the seventh seed, and that would be a
trip most likely to New England to play the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Let's talk about a little hypotheticals. We're gonna have a
lot of hypothetical matchups.
Speaker 7 (15:50):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
By the way, by the way, this is going to
be the schedule for next week. There's going there's six
wildcard games, two on Saturday, three on Sunday when we're here,
and then the one game on Monday night.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Bo, can you get in on this conversation for a
moment here? Bo Benson, our executive producer, decked out in
his RAMS geared Today, Rams need a win, uh to
get back to the five seed. If they win today.
With the forty nine ers losing yesterday, I'm sure they
would much rather be on the road against Carolina or
Tampa than they would the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
All right, so your guest is the Monday game. You
told me you think it's going to be the Rams game.
Speaker 8 (16:31):
Yeah, I think that makes sense. The only one I'm
one certain about is you know we're getting the annual
in a AFC South one pm Saturday, Absolutely absolutely all right?
Speaker 2 (16:42):
So locked in next Sunday when we are here. Are
we expecting two NFC one AFC two AFC one m
Do we know there's that?
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I think that ten am game, that one Cloud game
Force is gonna be whatever. That's that's the Eagles. I
think that makes sense to have so Eagles forty nine. Yeah,
Eagles Niners at that one o'clock game.
Speaker 8 (17:03):
That's a match that's a huge matchup. And the night game,
the Sunday night game, that's Bears Packers. That's Bears Packer exactly.
That's Bears Packers on that night.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
You want that river, you want night, you want the cold,
and that East Coast whatever East Coast teams to whatever,
whoever's hosting on the East Coast, they're definitely getting the
one pm Sunday slot. Wow.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Okay, So these are some interesting matchups. And this is
the one thing we've been talking at through throughout the season.
You got so many teams with young quarterbacks untested in
the postseason.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
How will they fare? Let's start with the New England Patriots.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
By the way, Greg Olsen will join us in our
third hour preview their matchup against the Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
I know that we picked out our awards a couple
of weeks ago and we were both all in on
Matthew Stafford. But after his three interception game against the Falcons,
there's a lot of buzz about Drake May ending up
as the MVP of this league. This year. He is
leading the NFL in passing efficiency. He's leading the NFL
and QBR. It's been an amazing story of the New
(18:06):
England Patriots this year. I still think Mike Vrabel will
be the NFL Coach of the Year. Yes, but Drake
may MVP.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
No.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
No. And I listened to Carrie and Dan on the
way home last week and they pointed out something, and
Carry's one of those guys when he talks. I listened
for a guy that played in the NFL. It was
an all pro. It might people might want to listen
when that guy talks. And he said that these were
not fooled by It felt like they were trying to
pile on stats last week. But the voters already know
(18:36):
that five touchdown performance is not gonna swing a smart
voter to oh well, especially against the Jets when it
looked like you were piling it on to try to
stat pad. I don't think that that matters. I think
that Matthew Stafford has done enough and shown us enough
that he'll be fine Monday night. I don't know what happened.
(18:57):
I was in total shock watching that.
Speaker 9 (18:58):
Well.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
The first half was an absolute abomination. If I didn't
know better. I mean, he was throwing passes like I'm sorry,
what are you doing here?
Speaker 6 (19:06):
Right?
Speaker 1 (19:06):
But why? But we are?
Speaker 6 (19:08):
Are you?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Are you in on this conspiracy to somehow get that
NFC South, which has zero relevance on the big picture,
to be relevant all the way through Week eighteen because
there was no accounting for those throws that Matthew Stafford
was making in that game.
Speaker 8 (19:23):
The only conspiracy that A'll buy is that since Pooka
made his comments about referees, so they're not getting any calls,
any calls, and especially him, he's not getting any calls.
But I thought the MVP race was over when Stafford
through that pick six. But it is funny. I've noticed it.
Like Dan and Monci when they were filling in this week,
they made the same point that like, you shouldn't be
(19:43):
swayed by Drake May piling up stats against the Jets,
who haven't intercepted a pass once this year.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
But how about how about what was the Patriots record
ross last year?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
That doesn't doesn't matter, It doesn't matter. I just think
it's funky fourteen and ree it doesn't matter. The New
England Patriots.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
Yeah, the New England Patriots going fourteen and three. We
were all old enough to remember when that was a
rating the.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
League in both passing efficiency is completing seventy two percent
of his passes and QB.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
With one of the with one of the worst strength. Schedule. Yeah,
that's a schedule day, Alabama.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
How many how many Patriot receivers are going to the
Pro Bowl this year?
Speaker 1 (20:21):
Does he have a throw it to that?
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Good look at I'm all in on Matthew Stafford, guys,
but I mean again.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Who Stafford for? Like who Tom Brady was pide receiver? Right?
Speaker 6 (20:35):
Right?
Speaker 1 (20:35):
Absolutely? V is another Hall of Fame, right, I don't
your teammates around you don't matter. If you're the best.
Speaker 8 (20:44):
If you're the best player in the league, like Stafford
has been, I think this year, then you should be
the MVP CPS.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
And he's never had a legitimate w R.
Speaker 7 (20:52):
We yeah, if we if we're if we're talking about
that the only quarterback we can give the award to
has to be a monk in a vow of poverty.
Then that should go to cam Ward. Like like, we
we can't punish teams.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Got they got three wins because he's their quarterback.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
They'd be on the secondeen, it's gonna be a close
far last year. Last year we thought Lamar Jackson was
gonna be the MB what's close. There wasn't one person
here when the regular season ended that did not think
Lamar Jackson was gonna win his third m v P.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
And then the vote came out in Josh Allen, I
was wanting to say, I did it. I was about
to say. We were in studio and we were talking.
It felt like it was because I called it the
sympathy m v P. Well man, let's let's give it
to Josh, because we haven't given Mar Jackson statistically had
the best year, one of the greatest careers and passing yards,
more rushing yards, more touchdown passes, and less interceptions and
(21:46):
less turnovers than Josh Allen. I've made that point before.
But there's something called voter fatigue, which I hate. It's
it's but it's a real thing. I can't stand it,
but it is a real thing. They get tired of
just giving it. They're years Michael Jordan didn't win the MVP. Guys,
they gave it to Karl alone one year, Karl Malone,
after Jordan was coming off of a back to back
(22:08):
for the second time in his career, and Karl alone
won MVP.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Like I understand, well, that free voter at the NBA no,
no voter registration league that didn't write the Heart Trophy,
which is the NHL's MVP, gave it to Gretzky eighth
straight years.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
He's the best player for I think it's funny.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
I noticed this week that like people arguing in favor
of Drake May for the MVP, we're writing like six
seven page essays and pulling out the every advanced statistic.
And if you have to do that, you have to
do that. You're convincing yourself. They're convincing anybody.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
And the question is why are they against Matthew Stafford.
I mean, if you have that incentive to really go
out of your way to make Drake May MVP when
it's a two man race between Drake May and Matthew Stafford,
what is it that you have against Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 7 (22:53):
It's always been this way with Matthew Stafford. Why is
it because he plays a style of football. He is
the last gunslinger. He is the last gun slinger, and
fifteen years ago we all decided we all hate gun
slingers really slinger awards, but coming with ultimate guns. Here's
the thing we forget about gun slingers. They will sometimes
(23:13):
make a pick. It does not mean they are the
worst thing ever, But we decided interceptions are worse than
sin in this world. So now we can trot out
the stat and say matt Stafford has the most picked
six but in a for a career for a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
But that doesn't matter. We're only talking about this year,
which they mentioned on Monday Night Football, which they made
sore to bring up a point on Monday Night Football
that he was it twenty three.
Speaker 7 (23:40):
Stafford will never be able to get his past with
the Lions having to carry that team and sometimes losing
off of his back, people will still think that is
Matthew Stafford and refuse to give him his flowers.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
I was not a Stafford fan in Detroit, and one
of the most overrated stats I ever heard was fourth
quarter comebacks because he was always trailing in the fourth
quarter in Detroit. How many times was Tom Brady?
Speaker 1 (24:03):
When you do.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
About fourth quarter comebacks, you have to qualify. It's sort
of like targets, right, It's like, all right, how many
opportunities do you have to make a fourth quarter comeback,
and how often do you deliver on that fourth quarter comeback?
Tom Brady, how many times was his team trailing in
the fourth quarter?
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Not often? Like Matthew Stafford was always trailing in the
fourth And no, I'm sorry, I got to fight back
against that, because do you say the same thing with
John Elway or with Damn Arena again.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
John always teams were usually winning in the fourth quarter?
Speaker 1 (24:35):
No, no, no, no, no. John Elway and Mareno were going
back and forth for ten years taking over fourth quarter comeback.
And we're on good.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Teams that were rarely trailing in the fourth quarter, but
they still When you have a guy whose team is
always trailing in the fourth quarter, he's gonna have, by
the way, the Browns that are gonna score.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Here maybe year pick six? Yeah, oh there's a flag.
Well I think the pick is still on it. And
that is that? Is that my man Bush from Michigan's
that Devin Bush? Anyway, I just disagree with that. Well,
your team is down, okay. Well, there's a lot of
quarterbacks who teams are down and they can't lead their
team back. So what do we say about them? Okay?
Speaker 2 (25:13):
But yeah, But my point is, if let's say you're
trailing in the fourth quarter twelve times and you have
three comebacks, and the other quarterbacks team is trailing four
times and has two comebacks, two out of four, three
out of twelve, who's better in terms of fourth Who had.
Speaker 7 (25:29):
To watch those Lions team that was a defense that
could never get off the field one year they had
a good defense there.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
That's not on Stafford. Should we dismiss what Caleb Williams
has done this year? Then? No, no, no, Absolutely, fourth
quarter matters. I can't.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
I can't whether or they're tied or trailing in the
last two minutes. All right, let's find out what's trending
right now. She has been really busy, busy, busy, busy, herzy.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Her eyes have been on the screen and type in
since she's been locked in since MONTI literally working NonStop.
Have you not for the last few weeks?
Speaker 10 (26:03):
And I can't wait to not be here. I love
you all, but I can't wait not to have a
day off.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
You need a break. I've seen you three times this week.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Yeah, I can't wait, and I've seen everybody else all
the days.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Can't wait.
Speaker 10 (26:15):
Or the next day. So I'll also be here.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Don't worry.
Speaker 10 (26:18):
Don't worry. The day off is not coming yet. Uh yeah,
A lot.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Going on, and you know what, I don't mind it
because I don't care since I don't have a fantasy team.
So it's really nice to just watch for fun, and
that's what we're doing. Kirk Cousins with a touchdown pass
to Drake London. He did throw an interception early in
this game, but Saints weren't able to do anything with it.
So the Falcons right now are up. And there was
a rushing touchdown by Bijon Robinson after they blocked a
punt from the Saints, but they brought it.
Speaker 10 (26:42):
Back but they finally got in the end zone again.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
So Falcons are up right now seven zero, late in
the first quarter a year.
Speaker 10 (26:47):
And of course, whoever.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Wins this is going to determine who the NFC South
Division winners.
Speaker 10 (26:52):
How we wanted it right.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Somebody else to pick it for us. Joe Burrow has
thrown a touchdown pass, but he also just threw a
pick six that was they didn't take it back. I
know we saw a flag, but it was unsportsmanlike conducts.
So the Browns are up on the Bengals now seven six.
It's still late in the first quarter. There vikings of
the Packers three zero, Cowboys and Giants are tied at
three apiece. The Titans and the Jaguars. I believe cam
(27:15):
Ward is still not back in the game. After he
scored that rushing touchdown, he hurt his shoulder, went to
the locker room, so he was taking out. Brandon Allen
is in that quarterback for the Titans. They are tied
against the Jaguars at seven apiece. Late in the first quarter.
The Colts just pulled off a fake punt and now
they're up on the Texan seven to six. But they
are driving down a field and that one is also
late in the first quarter. And then we have a
(27:37):
lot of games coming up in the second part of
the day, not just.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Like more in the after see the only week of
the year where there's more afternoon games.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
The morning game.
Speaker 10 (27:45):
I know, I don't like it. I don't like it.
Usually in the morning that's where we get it all over.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Carry gonna do, man.
Speaker 10 (27:51):
They're gonna have a ball they all.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
For some reason, the NFL decided to schedule a lot
of East Coast games at once twenty five. The Dolphins
and Dangers.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Play bastly throwaway games in the afternoon most of them.
But yeah, seven games in the afternoon, six in the morning.
Speaker 10 (28:06):
Ah, so we got to be on our toes the
entire day.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
It was when it was like, we have the morning
game that really counts. You see the don't forget tonight.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
Of course, first no one's yeah they put that there
VJ when it shouldn't be there.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
The number one, the forty nine Ers and.
Speaker 10 (28:23):
The Seahawks should have been Sunday Night football.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Really absolutely, I thought it was a great No. I
thought it was a great scheduling idea for last night
because the ratings were crazy for Saturday night and it
went against nothing, it went up against I thought it
was a great movie game.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
This is the white thing that was there's only one
winner take all game this week one that was it.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Okay, so I get in the playoffs with a team
that probably is going to get to the super Bowl
with the Seahawks Saturday night.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
That was a Saturday night game.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
This game with because whoever gets in, whether it's Baltimore
and Pittsburgh, you think any team.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
But first of all, first of all, you have Aaron Rodgers. Okay,
you have Aaron Rodgers have done Saturday. Yeah, the Steelers
Ravens a division game.
Speaker 10 (29:09):
They could have a standalone game on Saturday night.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
I like that fact because this winter I'm gonna see
it's winner take all, loser go home, loser goes home.
Teams could lose, Coaches, quarterbacks can be gone like it.
Speaker 10 (29:21):
Watch tomorrow wild cartoon for a Wildcard team.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
That's gonna draw twenty.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
By the way, view I was comfortable at the TV
station watching that entire Seahawks forty nine Ers game forty.
I love the reaction to my old buddy John Lynch
there when Walker had that nineteen yard run on third
and seventeen.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
He dropped the F bomb right there on live TV. Yeah,
that was a bad game for the forty nine ers.
All right, we're gonna get into that, Monsie. Great stuff
is always And by the way, thanks you once again
for breakfast.
Speaker 10 (29:50):
You're very welcome.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
We're in the Fox Sports radio studios. So again, the
Falcons leading the Saints seven. I think we got three
minutes to go in the forest first quarter that game.
If the Falcons win, I means the Carolina Panthers will
get into the playoffs and host the playoff game, most
likely against the Rams. Rams get that five seed with
(30:13):
a win today at home against the Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
All right, so let's get a little head to the
game tonight between the Steelers and the Ravens. I agree
with you.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
There's a lot at stake here now. Aaron Rodgers. You know,
Aaron Rodgers loves to keep his name in the news,
so he was sort of hinting around, I'm thinking about retirement,
I'm thinking about my future, thinking about this, thinking about that.
Here's the one thing about Aaron Rodgers this year with
the Steelers, just like he did last year with the Jets,
he stayed healthy, right, I.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Mean he's out there. I meant he played.
Speaker 6 (30:49):
You know.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Last year the Jets were ridiculously bad. He started all
seventeen games, you know, and he's done the same thing
with the Steelers this year. He's out there every single week.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Before the Steelers would say goodbye to Aaron Rodgers, you
have to have an alternative. And Aaron Rodgers is not
an MVP candidate by any stretch of the imagination.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
But he's competent.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
If he's playing against a subpar defense, he can do
some damage. He's going to be challenged, as we saw
last week against Cleveland against a good defense. I think
he's going to have a decent day. Is it going
to be enough against the Ravens. We'll get into that
a little bit later on. But if you're the Steelers,
you have to say this, Okay, do we have a
better alternative? We don't know what the quarterback situation is,
(31:35):
but we do know this about Aaron Rodgers. He'll be
there every week. He may this year, he'll becoming this year.
He was I guarantee that he would lead him to
a winning season. He did just that, even if they
lose today. So what are your alternatives? Let's start with
quarterback of the Steelers. If not Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Than who whoever? You can go out and find, whoever
you can draft the second or third round in the draft.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Let's go back to Kirk Cousins. Would you this was
something we talked about last time. You don't know, Oh,
young go old for old? I wouldn't. I wouldn't go
old for old. Well, who's available, that's young, that's competent.
Why would they be available?
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Well, first of all, we know guys like we know
guys like Colin Murray's gonna be available to well talking
about low it could be available, Lamar Jason could be available,
Joe Burrow could be available. And then you have the draft.
So there there's there's going to be quarterbacks that are
gonna be a thin health. Hell no, actually I disagree. Okay,
do you like Ty Simpson after that?
Speaker 6 (32:35):
No?
Speaker 1 (32:35):
I know you and not talking you and not talking
about Tody Simpson a month and a half ago. No,
I don't. But I tell you four guys that I
do like. The four quarterbacks that's left. I like those.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
I do.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Man, those that listen, I'm saying Shambliss is not coming out.
I know, but Shambliss I just said I like him
as an NFL quarterback. I love Shambless not coming out.
I like Beck. I think people are crapping on Carson
Beck and I'm trying to figure out. Okay, once again,
like Tom Brady said, I hate to keep using disappointed,
but it was just such a great point. You have
to be able to develop a quarterback. We keep saying, well,
(33:06):
it's not a good quarterback draft, but that's you could
get a guy if you can develop it for you
can get a guy to do what you.
Speaker 6 (33:12):
Want to do.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
I still don't think bo Nix is that good. I don't.
I just think he's being coached by a great quarterback guru,
He's being developed by a great guy.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
And I think that Drake May is good. Is a
product of Josh Stannel.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
No, No, Drake May can play. Drake May's helping out
Josh McDaniels. Josh McDaniels hasn't been successful with every quarterback
he's had, and he's had a bunch of them. He's
been successful with one. And we know that was more
that guy than it was Josh McDaniel. And that's the
go We know that for sure. We've had twenty years
of vere about Matt Castle. Did he coach Matt Castle
that one year? One year?
Speaker 6 (33:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (33:49):
And then what didn't and couldn't even win the division
eleven to five? Doin it doesn't matter they lost, It
doesn't matter what it was underrated quarterback in the history
of the NFL. NA under didn't know Chad pennt rated.
He's one of the most accurate quarterbacks of all time.
And the only two times, only two times wins. You
asked me, was he underrated? My answers, No, Chad Pennington
(34:10):
was a very good, greatest Miami Dolphin quarterbacks of all
the time. He was. He was a very good He
was a very good, steady, professional NFL quarterbia accurate. There
was nothing that was underrated about him. He played great
for the Jets. He played great for the Dolphins. What
are you talking about? No, but to answer your question,
if you're gonna say, if you're gonna say, like, who
do you go get? There's a ton of names that's
(34:31):
gonna come out. We don't know that in week eighteen.
I just think that you move on from Aaron Wadgers.
And I wouldn't go old for old. I wouldn't get
rid of an old guy to bring in another old guy.
Especially if Tomlin's out the door, they're gonna have to
start young and strut the door. I mean, we lose
the night he's gone is the they lose tonight he's
gone mediocre? Who are you replacing him with? Oh, there's plenty.
(34:54):
There's gonna be a ton of candidates, and you know it, well,
there's candid gonna be a ton of candidates. I don't know.
They've had three coaches since nineteen sixty nine. Go really fast,
let's just go here, this whole thing about it. And
I love Tomlin, but what are your report? What am
I replacing? I'm replacing with barely over five hundred football
for the last decade, last playoff win twenty sixteen, nine
years ago. Stop trying to sell me and sell fans
(35:17):
on Kay, but you just sell legendary guy. If I
not legendary, let me ask you this.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
If I am a hot commodity in terms of being
a head coach, you know, candidate in the NFL, why
would I go to the Steelers. We don't even have
a quarterback. I mean, there's a reason to get the Steelers.
There's a reason Ben Johnson took the Bears job, right right,
There's a reason why he took that job.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Bears went after Ben Johnson.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
It was it was.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Why did Ben Johnson choose that job? Because of Caleb Win?
All right?
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Coming up on the other side, will continue on with
the six games going on with the NFL. Right now,
seven more of this afternoon. It's the final Sunday of
the NFL regular season. This is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 11 (36:04):
Burrow has the ball back to throw. Here comes Miles.
He gets it a way Paul knocked up in the air.
It's picked off. Devin Bush is at the twenty. He's
at the twenty five.
Speaker 12 (36:12):
Devin Bush to midfield, Miles Garrett's his blocker. Bush cuts
back to the left. Devin Bush is god touchdown, pick six,
ninety seven yards.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
That's the Browns Radio network.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Browns have a pick six and they have a fumble
return for a touchdown. And right now the Cleveland Browns
are defeating the Bengals by a score of fourteen to
six thirteen minutes ago in the first half of that game.
Once again, we're in the Fox Sports radio studios. The
look on Joe Burrow's face when the Browns picked up
(36:49):
that fumbo and ran in for a score says it all.
He can't wait to get out of Cincinnati. I don't
know how it's gonna happen. You take Joe.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Burrow away from the Bengals, You've got nothing, You have
nothing nothing about Well, right now, they have one of
the elite quarterbacks from the National Football And what does
it mean. They need a new coach, They need a
new direction of that team. They need to invest some
money in this team.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
But you can't get rid of the franchise because if
you get rid of Joe.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Burrow, then the Bengals, where are you gonna go from there?
I get tired of hearing this. They're six and ten
with them, there's six in ten. I'm tired of hearing
this about you. I really am. I'm sick of hearing
this from people about Joe Burrow and all these weapons.
They're six and ten with all these weapons because they
have no defense and you know that. Well, No, it's
not just that there's games. Their offense isn't scoring. Did
you see his numbers last year? Did you see his
(37:41):
numbers last year? Last year doesn't matter. He had MVP
numbers last year on a bad team because I had
no defense. Well, this year, their defense got the offense
got shut out two or three weeks ago. Right, So
it's not just defense. They need to reset this entire thing,
and they've already put a thing about it. Cincinnati has
never mumbled a word about moving this guy. He's the
one started running his mouth bo You remember at the
(38:02):
beginning of this year we were talking about Quarterback Season
two and I just threw out there if you people
haven't watched it, and I'm not trying to say he's
selfish but when you listen to the clips of this guy,
it just comes off. He comes off as a me guy.
He just does. Guys. If you guys, if you think
I'm just making it up, guys, just go on Netflix
watch Quarterback season two and you listen to him and
(38:24):
you tell me how that comes off to you. And
that's gonna rain. That's gonna filter through you. When you
talk about a me guy, you mean like, yeah, he
wants to win. Please tired of Louis, Please say that.
Stop because you're not gonna say that about another player. See,
this is what I don't like is when is when
someone else does the same thing. Oh he's selfish, he's
a me guy. Joe Burrow does it. Oh he wants
(38:47):
to win. He's so passionate. Bo help me out here, buddy.
He's not gonna say he's a selfish player. How is
Joe Burrow selfish player?
Speaker 6 (38:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (38:55):
I don't think Joe Burrow is selfish. No, So nothing
about him and that season comes off to you. As
I'm doing my part, what's going on with the rest
of you? Guys? Did he say that last year? He
could easily have said that last year. I said, go
back and watch.
Speaker 8 (39:09):
I think if he's saying that it's more in relation
to the team he plays for in the upper management more.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Than they, then like I said, so, then well, I
guess the problem for Joe Burrow is They're not going
to change.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
They don't if you look at the entire history of
the Bengals, certainly since Mike Brown took over for his father,
they will never invest. Anytime they've had success, it is
by accident and not by disease.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
Then why are you fighting my opinion that I've been
saying for since the beginning of this Because I know
how the Bengals operate. They're not gonna They're not trading him.
He's gone. I'm sorry, guys.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
Not only is he not gone even if his contract
runs out though franchise tag him.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
Listen, he will make such a stink. He's already started it.
When you start saying things like if I'm going to
continue to do this, that's cold talk, guys. I'm listen.
We'll see how all playoffs. I'll be here to say
I told you so. I mean, I don't disagree you
believe is going to be Give me, Give me a timetable,
(40:08):
Give me a timetable on when Joe Burrow is leaving Cincinnati,
twelve month, he'll be traded within twelve months, he'll be gone,
well twelve months, Yes, he'll be. Yes, he'll be traded
with the Yes traded. Yes, no chance, all right, no chance,
I'll be I'll be right here to say I told
you so, rub it in your Hall of Fame. You
think you think Dak Prescott is happy in Dallas. I
think he is. Really he's happy with being a non factor. No,
(40:32):
but I think he's happy in Dallas. Oh, I was
your question? Okay for a question. Yeah, he doesn't care. Then,
all right.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Coming up on the other side, we've got six games
going on right now, final week of the NFL regular season,
en Zo Radio rolling along here, Final Sunday of the
NFL regulars season. By days in the playoff field will
be set once again, Harbin and Husky with you carrying
six games right now around the NFL, seven more coming
(41:01):
up later on this afternoon.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
And two teams.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
That need wins are winning and going away right now.
That would be the Jags up twenty one to seven
over the Titans right now, eight minutes to go in
the first half there, and the Texans are pulling away
from the Colts twenty to ten. Texans are leading that
game again. If they both win, Jaguars win the division,
Texans will be the five seed in the AFC side
(41:28):
of things, and of course the big game right now.
It's just again, never had a game like this where
two teams completely out of the playoffs will decide which
team will make it into the playoffs out of their division.
Falcons lead the Saints by a score of ten to nothing.
Tyler shuck seven to nine seventy seven yards, but they
can't get the ball in the end zone right now.
(41:51):
So again, if the Falcons win, Carolina is in the playoffs.
If the Saints win or tie, then it'll be Tampa
representing the NFC South in the postseason.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
Steve doing commercial break, I was telling you I don't
like rather because we were would you rather go here?
Would you rather go there? I just think that's a
bad mentality because if that's how you're gonna think, you're
asking yourself to think you're playing a lesser opplonent.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
But you never hear a team say that. I mean,
if you if you're the Rams, would you rather be
at Carolina and or Tampa? Or would you rather be
in Philadelpha. What happened to him the last time they
went to Carolina?
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Well, I know the Eagles have had their number as
of late, so that's not a good matchup either. I
just think my boys go on the road and just
play who you play. It's just kind of you know,
just speaking of off air conversations here, VJ. So we
were talking about I said, we were talking about this
whole play and you know, fine, who would you rather play?
(42:54):
You gotta play, you gotta play. But if the Rams
are to go to Carolina and lose to the pa Anthers,
doesn't that sort of tell you that indeed, Matthew Stafford
is not an MVP. No, you think Matthew Stafford would
go to Carolina lose to the Panthers in a playoff game.
I don't know what will happen, But your question is
(43:14):
I'm answering the question. The question is if they go
to Carolina and lose, does that mean he's not an MVP?
When you've sat here next to me for the last
year told me the MVP is a regular season award
is a regular season So then we can't quantify what
happens in the poll, which I don't agree with I've
always said all voting should be done after the Super Bowl.
(43:35):
All voting for everything should be done after the Super
Bowl because if a coach, let's just say, a coach
loses Coach of the Year by ten votes, right, but
then takes his team and wins it all, and the
coach that won Coach of the Year loses in the
wildcar round, that to me would probably sway those ten votes.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
I got news for you. Nobody cares about Coach of
the Year.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (43:58):
They care about coaches winning Super Bowls? True, nobody. Nobody
has ever said.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Well, g you know, he was a three time Coach
of the it's either that he won. But I mean,
the fact is is that I don't care about Coach
of the most. Player is a different thing.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
And I do think there's regular season what what do
you put more weight on Super Bowl MVP?
Speaker 1 (44:20):
A regular season MVP? What's more valuable on a resume?
Speaker 11 (44:24):
Super Bowl MVP?
Speaker 1 (44:25):
You're making the argument for Eli Manning, right, V. So
you talk about Eli Manning should be in the Hall
of Fame, right, You're a big proponent of that.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
He's never not only was he never an NFL regular
season MVP. He never got a single vote. He never
got a single vote for any award ever, never got
to vote for.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
First Team All Pro ever in his NFL career. But
because he's a two time super Bowl MVP, No, that's
good enough to be Ever said, two times super Bowl MVP.
I said, two times super Bowl champion. But he's a
super Bowl super But I'm answering your question. You asked
me what means more? To me? MVP means more. I'll
(45:05):
reference in this one. When my nephew was at Carolina,
I asked coach Arriy Williams, what did you care more
about regular season ACC Championship or the ACC tournament which
we used to hang so much on. Right, He looked
me dead in my face, the great Roy Williams, who
I loved it death is one of my favorite human
Being's a tall basketball with He said, the regular season,
(45:26):
because it's from December to This is what he told me. Okay,
this is what he told me. Back in the old days,
the ACC was the only tournament period And in those days,
don't forget about the biggest tournament. No, no, I'm talking
about wavy Okay, Okay, there was one Tournament, the ACC Tournament,
and in those days when each conference only had one
(45:47):
representative in the NC tournament, that was the winner of
the ACC tournament. So regular season meant nothing. If you
won the ACC Tournament, you were the one team out
of there. To get what I'm saying, though, right, I
think regular sea Just to answer your question, I got guys,
I got I got it. I got news for Roy Williams.
Neither one of those matters. The only matters is how
deep did you get in the tournament? Well, that's the
only thing that ever anyone remembers you hang out.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
They don't care about regular season conference champions, none of
that young deep did you go in March Madden?
Speaker 1 (46:16):
Did you get Sweet sixteen? I hear, did you get
to the final four? I'm sorry that the pick bounce
in the first round. I'm sorry that the pack whatever
you guys have out here is not as important as
the ACCCEN. That's probably where a lot of that opinion's
coming from. But to answer your question, nobody cares about
ACC regular champion MVP. To me, regular season means more
than Super Bowl because we can go down the list
of Super Bowl MVPs like Brown, Right, the other like
(46:40):
Desmond Howard that never won a regular season welcome Smith.
My favorite Malcolm Smith. Yeah, yours.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
That was the Seahawks win over the forty three to
eight game. Who was the MVP of the Seahawks in
that game? And listen, did you not know that was
Malcolm Smith?
Speaker 1 (46:55):
I did it. I did it. So did you think
it was Russell Wilson. The point I'm making is you're
kind of contradicting your opinion as far as Super Bowl.
I mean, I didn't contract. I didn't. I was asking
you is Malcolm Smith? He won VA. It's that's the
that's the that's the the Denver pa. What did he do?
(47:17):
Malcolm Smith? Pick and a few tackles? He was you
could make some money on. By the way, here's the
most significant thing about Malcolm Smith. He went to my
high school because his brother Steve Smith, the wide receiver,
Steve Smith that played at USC. They both went to
that went to the Giants. Yeah, both had a great
career and Malcolm Smith went to u C U s
(47:39):
c okay seventh round pick and then use a Super
Bowl MVP. See that's why. But I don't use that
for Peyton Man. And I mean for Eli Manning. I
used that Eli man has won two Super Bowls. I
never mentioned Super Bowl m v P.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
No, I go for any guy that played on two
Super Bowl winners, any position, only quarterbacks.
Speaker 8 (47:57):
I think being the League MVP is more important than
being Super MVP because it's an award for seventeen games.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
I agree with him, award for one game. By the way,
the only sport that does that is baseball. Baseball doesn't
give a crap about the postseason. None, zero. It's all
regular season. It's all about regular season, season, all about
regular season. You agree with that, though, No, I don't.
Speaker 2 (48:18):
I think that Guys like you know, what was it,
Billy Wagner, the relief pitcher got in a couple of
years ago. You hated that one, well, because it is postseason.
In his postseason, guy was a closer right his entire career.
He pitched in fourteen postseason games as a closer in
his postseason career, ERA was over ten.
Speaker 8 (48:37):
That's why much there's too much variance in baseball to
do that. You're good for one hundred and sixty two games,
but you're weirdly bad for right, Like, I don't put
much stock in postseason game. It's all inflated. It's all
inflated anyway, right in football? Apparently it's only about the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
That's the only thing that would be the only argument
for Eli Manning, whose career record is a starting Corps
back in the regular season was exactly five hundred, one
seventeen and one seven.
Speaker 1 (49:05):
What is he ranking touchdown passes? What do you mean?
Where does he? You can understand the question.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
That's like Harold Baines, Where does he rank all time
on the hits list? If you play long enough, you're
gonna pilot. Now we're going to do that if you
played so dc The same about Tom Brady. Tom Brady's
thrown for what one hundred and fifty thousand yards? But
he played twenty plus year.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
You're gonna go on, well, tom Brady, Well, tom Brady
played so many years. You're not going to make You're
making a comparison between Tom.
Speaker 9 (49:30):
Brady comparison and I beat him twice, but team he
beat him, or that defense of the Giants beat him.
Speaker 1 (49:43):
Oh, here we go.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
Who do you think is a better Hall of Fame coaching?
Two guys that won Super Bowls? Who should go in
the Hall of Fame? First, Tom Coughlin or Mike Shanahan,
which coach both won two Super Bowls?
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Who's a more qualified coach to be in the Hall
of Fame? To really? Tom Laughlin just beat built Belijack Twicehahan,
did he?
Speaker 3 (50:03):
Not?
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Yeah? But Di Dight Shanahan be Dan Reeves and Mike Holmer. Okay, yeah,
But Shanahan's fingerprints all over the NFL, right all over
the NFL. Really even in that and even in that time,
Mike Shanaplan is famous for being really red on the
sideline in Green Bank because it was so coold, right,
But not only that, Shanahan also is also famous for
taking just obscure running with the Giants all running for fifteen.
Speaker 7 (50:27):
I think Tom Coughlin was more influential as a coach
putting Jacksonville on the map than he whatever was in
New Exactly.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
He took a team and their second year, you know
who he beat in the playoff.
Speaker 1 (50:38):
That would be Mike Shanahan, he'd be John Hall. But
I'm saying but, but you're asking over the longevity. So Chris,
are you taking Coughlin first in a Hall of Fame
over Shanahan? No? No, I'm taking Shanahan. Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (50:49):
Us is responsible for the Giants winning Super Bowl. It's
David Tyree's helmet.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
And is Mike Shanahan getting credit for ruining Robert Griffin?
The third's career? Was that him was was smart enough
to draft Kirk Cousins, right, yeah, Now that was the
field that was I was about to say, Shanon's cawing
him out there and have him do running plays when
he was obviously that's what he was good at. What
was he supposed to do, hurt? What was he supposed
(51:16):
to do as a playoff game running the pistol? I'm sorry?
What did he went outside of those last two years
in Denver with l Way? Nothing? He was at Denver
for ten more years, By the way, in the ten
years after Elway left, do you know how many playoff
games he won? One? What girl, did Shanahan wan from you?
Because that's I was there when he was hired. I
(51:40):
I was.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
I actually was the guy that led the press conference
when he was introduced as the In fact, I was
introduced to us John Elway.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
That story don't matter. What did John Elway win before
Shanahan got to Denver? I think he was getting his
ass kicked at Super Bowls? Was he not? Shanahan shows
up at what happened to John Elway's career. Now, Alex
Gibbs the greatest offensive line coach in this excuse, you
can tell that Steve worked for the Raiders for a
long time. Yeah, comes out every one. Every time one
(52:12):
of these every time you talk about one of these
other AFC west somewhere, God now give now is Alex Gibbs. Now,
alexis was the greatest office. He was the guy that
created that incredible zone blocking that the Denver Broncos could
insert any single running back and get well over a
(52:32):
thousand years. Are you saying Kyle Shanahan learned his running
game coordinating from Gibbs and not his own dad? Is
that what you're pass on to Mike McDaniel, because they
hired Mike McDaniel coaching the Dolphins as the running coordinator
for Atlanta the Commanders, which is the Redskins then and
the Niners, by the way, was the offensive running coordinator coach.
(52:52):
Remember we were talking about Kyle Shannon's coach of the Year.
Did that go out the window yesterday? With performance? I
thought I thought bad with the four. It ain't go
out the window. I just thought it cements it verable.
They were confident. They were very confident going into that game.
The forty nine ers very confident. I got to get
both some props right here too. Honestly, man, you called
(53:13):
McDaniel McDonald. Excuse me, you called out about two months ago. Man,
that guy's like, he's legit. That's a damn good NFL coaching.
They're gonna be good there. They're gonna be good there
for the next five.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
And I'll be the first time there for Sam Darnald
didn't do anything yesterday. That was all defense, special teams.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
It's wind. I'm not gonna beat him up today because
he didn't turn it. He didn't turn it over. No,
I didn't. I did, just say it word, he didn't
turn it over me.
Speaker 13 (53:35):
The won twelve touchdowns this year. Who saw that. That's
a that's two primetime NFC West games in a row
where I feel less confident about Seattle coming out of
it than I did get going in.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
But that indeed, but now knowing you gotta go up there.
But here's the thing. It comes down to this.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
If Sam Donald in a playoff game, is the difference
between winning and losing. On Sam Darnald would either win
the game or.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
Lose the game. Were just three weeks on the money
on Sam Darneld Yet, Yeah.
Speaker 8 (54:11):
Three weeks ago we watched the Rams go in there
and score thirty points.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
Yes, exactly, and then last week we watched thirty seven.
Speaker 8 (54:18):
Last week we watched the Bears go into San Francisco
and put up thirty eight points on that defense, and
this Seattle can only put up thirteen.
Speaker 1 (54:24):
I don't know this Seahawks defense. There are charts.
Speaker 8 (54:27):
Yeah, I think Seattle is the best team in the NFL,
but I also just think nobody's good this year.
Speaker 1 (54:32):
All right, we'll continue on here. We've got six games
going out right now. By the way, the Saints have
scored all of a sudden Falcons ten Saints seven. The
winner of that game will determine another team coming away
with the NFC South Crown. This is end zone radio
to receivers to either side.
Speaker 11 (54:51):
Shotgun from a twenty three Trevor Dross looks fires poured.
Speaker 12 (54:55):
To goal lineup touchdown part.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
I want Jackson Bill in the end zone a twenty
three yard touchsown path.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
That's ten ten XL ninety two to five FM Jaguarts
Radio Network. Jacks looking at clinch the division title, routing
the Titans twenty eight to seven inside a minute ago
in the first half of that game. Once again, this
is end Zone Radio on the Fox Sports Radio studios.
All right, quick rundown of the scores right now, two
(55:25):
minute warning. Texans leading the Colts twenty to ten. As
we mentioned, Jags over the Titans twenty eight to seven
inside a minute to go there. In the half, Giants
leading the Cowboys sixteen to ten. Twenty seconds left, I
half fighting the Vikings shutting out the Packers today thirteen
and nothing. Packers already locked into the seven seed, win
(55:47):
or lose. The Bengals got to score miss the exer points.
Still trail the Browns fourteen to twelve inside a minute
to go there, Miles Garrett still no sacks. He's gonna
have to do in the second half to break that record.
And the big game of the day Falcons and the Saints.
And the Falcons lead this one ten to seven. We're
(56:08):
at the two minute warning. Saints have the ball third
down in their own territory. This Miles Garrett situation, Guys,
what the hell's happening, Dave.
Speaker 8 (56:16):
Before we go any further, we also have to note
that the Vikings fullback CJ. Ham just scored a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (56:22):
Wow CJ. Ham, Wow, I haven't heard that name in
a few Yes.
Speaker 8 (56:26):
One of the all time greats. I think this is
maybe his final game. So going out with a touchdown.
Good for him?
Speaker 1 (56:31):
Yeah, good for him, man, good for all these guys.
Speaker 9 (56:33):
Man.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
Look at look at these teams fighting like this is
last week of the year, and you think, oh, you
got nothing to play for bs.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
Hold on, hold on the Packers to show you today.
So the Packers have Clayton Tune at quarterback. He's two
up five passing for ten yards. They have negative three
yards net passing sixteen yards rushing. Packers have thirteen total
yards in the first half. I don't talk about mailing
in a game again. They are locked into the seventh seed,
(57:01):
win or lose. Everyone's sitting out. So thirteen total yards.
The Vikings have two hundred and forty four.
Speaker 1 (57:10):
Yards of offense. They're not playing anybody. I'm looking at
their running backs. Chris Brooks five carries, twenty three Emmanuel
will Slayton toone is quarterback. He's got one rush for
seven yards and Emanuel Wilson has they sat out seven
carries for negative fourteen yards. Well, that's going to be
the Chargers today against the Broncos. They're sitting there. They
(57:31):
need it though, they need it though I've never seen
a more Have you ever seen, namey a more beat
up eleven win team in NFL history? Name me more.
When you lose both tackles, receivers in and out, running
back in and out, quarterback, broken hand, guys, that's a
five win team, right, so weak? Nine times.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
We go back and forth in this idea about sitting
out games, and it's gone both ways. There are teams
that have sat out players and they get stale. Remember
the Ravens a few years ago when they sat everybody
even with a bye, and they look like they hadn't
played in a month and they lose. We see a
lot of these teams that you know, that's that's the
one they will. Let's assume the Broncos win today against
(58:13):
the Chargers, who are gonna sit everybody today. Is anyone
running to the bank to bet everything on your two
number one seats? Are you betting the bank on the Seahawks?
Are you betting the bank on the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 1 (58:26):
I don't think I'll have a better answer for you
after tonight, but I will. I've already gone out on
the limits head one number one season not going to
the super Bowl I'm close to. I'm saying too, don't.
I'm playing neither do depending upon because I do. I
do think the Broncos have a better home field advantage
than the Patriots do.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Okay, I need you to get a visual in your
head right now. Do you see either Bonnicks or Sam
Darnald lifting the Lombardi Trophy?
Speaker 6 (58:55):
No?
Speaker 1 (58:55):
Do you have that visual?
Speaker 5 (58:56):
No?
Speaker 1 (58:57):
I don't think either one of those Sam Donald or
Bonnicks lifting the Seattle or Denver to Lombardi Trophy. Do
you have that vision? No? My pick at the beginning
of the year is the Eagles, So I have to
stick with my pick. And that's why I'm going into
the postseason saying I think the Eagles are going to
repeat because I've got to stick with that. That's what
I wrote down on the sheet out my preseason was
the Eagles bill super Bowl. Yeah, that was my period,
(59:17):
Yours is still Mine's still open. Mine was Eagles and Ravens.
My picks are still No, they are though they're still alive.
My picks are still alive. Once he's already in Let's
go back.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
You mentioned the fact that there could be a change
of coaches and the loser of tonight's game between the
Steelers and the Ravens. You also mentioned the quarterbacks while
the Aaron Rodgers situation is obvious. Yes, Lamar Jackson, all right,
you're already on record saying Joe Burrow will be traded
within the next twelve months, within twelve months. Well, Lamar Jackson,
(59:48):
as we sit here a year ago, a year for now,
January of twenty twenty seven, will Lamar Jackson still be
the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
If they lose tonight? No? Wow, I do, because I
just think it's that it's time you listen. You've been
calling for John Harball's head all year long. Okay, right,
which is wrong, but I get it as your opinion,
you're allowed to have it. But I will say this,
three playoff wins jacks point in his career. Sometimes it's
just like with Tomlin. Remember Tomlin flirted with not being
(01:00:19):
the Steelers coach two years ago. Guys. When the commander's
job was open. He's from the him south of Virginia.
I was giving me northern Virginia, DC, Maryland area. Tomlin's
from that area. They're flirted with the idea of him
taking that job or interviewing for that job. Before dan
Quinn got it, he was on the outs with Pittsburgh
and it decided to Okay, let's let's let's Letsten, you know,
(01:00:40):
let's let's move this thing again. But the team has
to pick up his option for next year. It's not
up to him, It's up to the Steelers front artist.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
I want to I want to do a poll here
between these two right here, all right, between Boe and
Chris who will coach their current team longer? Mike Tomlin
with the Steelers or John Harball with the Ravens. Which
one of those guys will be last man standing with
their current team?
Speaker 8 (01:01:06):
I think I think Mike Tomlin, just because the Steelers
don't fire coaches, and I think the Steelers are fine
being a nine to ten win team and making the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Here, all right, So you say, Mike Tomlin, how about you, Chris?
Who will be last man standing with their current team?
Mike Tomlin with the Steelers, John Harbaugh with a raven.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
Before that, Bo, even if the Steelers lose tonight, Yeah, okay,
of course.
Speaker 7 (01:01:34):
Yeah, I'm I I agree with everything Bo is saying,
but I am leaning that the answer is John Harbaugh,
just because I think this idea of getting rid of
him in Baltimore is just kind of seems vastly overinflated.
I think they probably win tonight and probably probably just
put this whole thing to bed. But like what we're
(01:01:56):
getting mad about John Harbaugh about is a lack of
success in the playoffs, and yet I just don't see
that like where they have been, They've they've gone as
far as they have, but like their problem has always
been not in John Harbaugh, but in some of the
HighRes they've made for the staff around him. I just
can't see Harbaugh being that. I struggle to find who
(01:02:16):
they can get better than John Harbaugh. I think you
can do better than Tomlin at this point, I really do.
I think it's gotten so long in the tooth in Pittsburgh,
and I know they probably are less likely to fire him,
but I think if I'm using my brain on this,
there's no reason for me to move on from John harbe.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Well, John Harbaugh should have been fired after that home
AFC championship game.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
A couple of years ago against the Joints. I was
the worst game plan I've ever seen in a big
game like that. Ever, they're probably both con well, okay,
this is a possibility. But again, all right, so VJ
final say here, who will be the last man standing
in their current job, Mike Tomlin with the Steelers or
John Harbaugh with the Ravens. It's harball. But it won't
(01:02:57):
be by long though, because I think they went to night.
So you're not gonna fire him right away, but I
do think we can. We're in the world if when
the Steelers lose, not if when they lose tonight, it
won't be a firing. They're not gonna fire him, but
they have they it's just, hey, we're not gonna pick
up your option, and this is Hey, it's been long enough.
(01:03:19):
I with bo you're coming up. I think they're okay
with being, you know, right above fire hunt and losing
to the playoff. I don't think they're okay with that.
I just think that well, like you said, they have
three coaches in sixty years It's it's hard to do,
but at some point you gotta snatch the band aid off.
This team is older. TJ. Wattson injured almost every year.
(01:03:42):
He was one player of the year, defense player of
the Year, but there's other years he hasn't finished the season. Guys,
but bringing out the reason why it would be unlikely
that a big time coaching candidate would want the Steelers job.
It's an older team. I mean, guys want to I
don't have a quarterback. You put too much into that.
Guys that have never been ahead coach Steve want to
(01:04:04):
be tom. They don't give a damn Mike Tomlin took
over the Steelers job. They were two years removed from
winning the Super There's a phrase I've kind of fallen
in love with lately.
Speaker 7 (01:04:15):
The young quarterback Beth called that that is what should
what will be done eventually, should be done immediately. And
it's like, you're the NFL is too short lived for
everyone involved to be wasting their time. It's why I
said earlier in the year, like if you're gonna if
you're not sure about Aaron Glenn, either fire him now
or give him three years with the Jets, But don't
(01:04:36):
tell me next year he starts in the hot seat,
because that's insulting to everyone involved. And likewise, here, if
you think either one of these guys should be gone,
but you want to give them a little bit more time,
then like make a decision. I can't fit in for
the long term.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
Let's go back. Let's go back what the Patriots did
with Mayo, right right, We made a mistake.
Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Nothing personal, no, nothing, person the wrong weren't ready for
this kind of a job. And they guy the guy
that they should have hired in the first place.
Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
And they didn't do a real search. They didn't do
a real search. They made the Michigan mistake. And I
can say it as honestly now Cheryl Moore probably should
have never been to cold but they never searched. He
got the job because he was hard balls like number
one guy. They never did a search. They do a
search now, and look what they They didn't do their
vetting now either, look look what they do and look
what they and look what they end up right right?
(01:05:24):
You into what Kyle, because you did a real search.
That makes sense, and that's and the Patriots messed that up.
And then they went and did a real search. And
you end up with was there, but it was still
a real search.
Speaker 8 (01:05:36):
I just don't think that the Steelers as an organization
and as a fan base are prepared for the possibility
of the other side of being an NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Yeah, they'll have to live like everyone else.
Speaker 8 (01:05:46):
Which is like your team wins three or four games,
you get a chance at drafting quarterback, but oh you
drafted the wrong one, and you suck again.
Speaker 14 (01:05:53):
And now look they're back years where they're not used
to it, bottom out and maybe only have five wins
and not always being a Steelers Mike.
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Honestly, people will look back at Tomlin's last five or
six years and say, how did he do it? How
was he able to avoid a losing season with a
decayane Ben Roethlisberger, a carousel of quarterbacks?
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Can he? Pickett? Russell Will said, you're playing you're playing
up and down AFC with old old Aaron Rodgers. You're
playing up and down AFC and you're playing the how
did you do some team division? The Browns have always
been bad. The Bengals have lost their quarterback three of
them spots the dominant regular season. No, no, but that's lit.
That's the only team they've had to compete with though,
(01:06:36):
and they're not only competing. I think the Steelers win
tonight at home, to be honest, really I do. All right,
let's let's find out what is a trending right now?
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
So much, I'll ask you the same question, which coach
will have the longest shelf light with their current team,
Mike Tomlin with the Steelers, for John Harbaugh with the Ravens.
Speaker 10 (01:06:59):
To Lynn, I think Tomlin.
Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
If they lose, and I think.
Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
They win, I'm with But even if they lose, that
wouldn't change my answer.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
All right, yeah, all.
Speaker 10 (01:07:10):
Right, guys.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
So most of these games is not not all six
thirty seconds between the Colts and the Texans here, but the.
Speaker 10 (01:07:15):
Rest of the games are at the half. And this
just happened.
Speaker 12 (01:07:19):
A sixty seven yarder from the right hash Logan Cook
will put it down.
Speaker 1 (01:07:24):
There's the hole, there's.
Speaker 12 (01:07:26):
The kick, the sixty seven yard field goal from sixty
seven yard.
Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
Good is that it was Cam Little who hit the
sixty eight yarder.
Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Abomination domination Wow. And he didn't make the Pro Bowl.
Speaker 10 (01:07:45):
And he did not he did not it. I don't
think so he would know. His name was definitely not
like a ninety earlier this year the sixty eight one.
Yeah that record, he has a sixty eight yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
So the Jaguars just putting on a show against the Titans,
who did lose Kim and then points don't let's not
talk about it. Jaguars are up on the Titans thirty
one to seven. Trevor Lawrence has thrown for three touchdown passes.
Jaguars win, they win the division now if they happen
to fumble this and lose and then Houston ends up
(01:08:19):
winning against the Texans and Houston will get the division.
Right now, Texans are up twenty to seventeen, fifteen seconds
to go in the first half, but they are in
the red zone. Maybe get some points out of it.
The Cowboys and the Giants. At the half, New York
is up sixteen to ten, where Jackson Dart has thrown
for one hundred and fifty four yards.
Speaker 10 (01:08:36):
And to touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
The Vikings up on the Packers thirteen zero at the half.
Browns over the Bengals fourteen to twelve there and the
Falcons lead the Saints ten to seven at the half. Again,
whoever wins this game determines who wins the NFC South
and it's neither of them. If Falcons win against the
Saints and the Panthers are gonna win the division for
the first time since twenty fifteen.
Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
But if the.
Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
Saints win, or if the game ends at a tie,
then Tampa Tampa Bay will win the division for a
fifth straight year. When it comes to the NBA, right now,
the Cavaliers lead the Pistons twenty eight to nineteen after
the first quarter. Back to you guys, all right, Monci,
thank you very very much.
Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
Checking with you later. Once again, we're in the Fox

Speaker 1 (01:09:37):
Steve really quick. Yeah, there's too many variables going on
with this postseason, and I do I want to if
we can't open this up to everybody here, everybody, give me,
everybody pick one team because there's no favorite. Yes, yes, yes, yes,
there's no favorite. There's no favorite. But if you had
I'm picking the right put one thousand dollars right now
if someone win the Super Bowl right thousand dollars?
Speaker 6 (01:09:58):
MS.
Speaker 1 (01:10:00):
Who are you? Who are you talking? Monty ben a Bo?
I'm not Ben Bo. Chris, someone handed you a thousand
bucks right now and you got to put it on
the team right now. You can't wait? Okay, So I'm
so you're rams Bo. Who are you putting your thousand? Manty?
Who you put?
Speaker 4 (01:10:17):
Chris?
Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
Who are you putting your thousand dollars on to win it?
Speaker 6 (01:10:20):
All? Right?
Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
Right now? First of all, I think Steve is gonna
go with the Rams. I'm going Rams. I hope everybody's
clear that. Let me think this source on that. Let
me give it a second thought.
Speaker 9 (01:10:31):
Rams, Yeah, Manty who you got a thousand bucks just
free giving to you?
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
Go to Vegas right now? One team? You can't wait,
It's got to be done in the next hour.
Speaker 10 (01:10:40):
Can I split the thousand?
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
Nope?
Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
First question, Um, I would flip a coin right now
with a thousand dollars. I would flip a coin heads, Rams, tail, Seahawks,
and whatever the coin tells me.
Speaker 8 (01:10:53):
I'd put it all right, there you go, bo Uh,
not even to say this biasly, but I would, Chris.
Speaker 1 (01:11:03):
All right.
Speaker 7 (01:11:03):
So I've had this answer sitting here since about the
second time Steve said Rams. So I've been sitting on
this for a while. I've been thinking about this.
Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
Can I say it?
Speaker 9 (01:11:12):
Can I guess? Guess yes, Jaguars. It is the Jackson
I am. I think Jacksonville.
Speaker 7 (01:11:20):
I am just throwing a danger to the win. And
I'm saying like it's it's hard for me to not
he was a he was a year ahead of his time.
Well Jackson Jackson last year.
Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
But the last three weeks though, and you said I'm
gonna borrow Vjay's uh saying you've been putting the tape on,
and what does the tape tell you? What this team
there made you like? Here's the thing I think.
Speaker 7 (01:11:43):
I think the AFC runs through Denver, and I've only
seen one team of our contenders go up to Denver
and beat They beat the Broncos in their own home,
and that's Jacksonville. Guys, you realize that the most likely
team to play at Jacksonville now is Buffalo. Noah, the
Jags are the most opportunistic defense in the AFC they're
(01:12:06):
going to get.
Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
We assume that jos are going to lose today, right,
and we assume the Bills are going to beat the
Jets at home. That drops the Chargers to the seventh
seed road game, most likely against New England Bills at Jacksonville.
Speaker 1 (01:12:24):
And I've been telling you, guys, is your afternoon Sunday game.
Josh Allen's gone home early. As I've been telling you
guys all year. My pick, I'm with bo I put
my grand on the Eagles that defense. And if you
got to go in there, and once they get a
home playoff win, wherever they would have to go, Like
if they get up to the two seed, the only
place they would have to go is out to Seattle.
(01:12:45):
And we've talked about this, that defense against Sam Donald,
but then McDonald's defense against Jalen hurts. And that's the
game right now, all right. So I asked you earlier
about whether you can get the visual in your head
of Sam Darnold or bow Nicks raising the Lombardi Trophy.
(01:13:06):
Can you get the visual of Trevor Lawrence holding the
Lombardi Trophy?
Speaker 6 (01:13:11):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
Yes, Because we've been teuted that he was the guy
right right. We've been being told for the last seven
eight years now, because this is fixed Cecil in high
school coming out right, coming out of high school, number
one player A because he was there along with Justin Billfields,
and if Justin Fields were number one pocket passer, you know,
all around quarterback, they were both breaking number one. We've
been being told for eight years now he's the guy.
(01:13:35):
And if he cashes in, man, it's like, hey, by
the way, a year the way, if Trevor Lawrence gets one,
will he get two? Yes? Yes, yes, can we let
him win a playoff game. I'm just saying, man, Daddy
beat the targeers. I like that type of talk. I
like that type of tal because guys are gonna want
to go there. Guys, guys are gonna want to go there.
They're gonna go with them. By the way, in this
(01:13:57):
game right now, sixteen or nineteen hundred and eighty one yards,
three touchdowns, first half, he's on fire. All right, we.
Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Continue on here. We are gonna be heading into second
and half. So we got by the way, we have
seven games this afternoon. We're gonna start breaking down some
of these games, which games actually have some kind of
bearing on the postseason matchups coming up next week.
Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
This is end zone radio play fake. Trevor Gropp goes
it out on the back of calk By.
Speaker 12 (01:14:24):
Quintin marks the tight end of the right plat touchdown.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
Jessonville to the Jags. We're pulling away here for the
test eight.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
Titans ten ten XL ninety two to five. Jags Radio
Network up thirty one seven. Cam Little by the way
a sixty seven yard field goal to end the half.
Just the yard shirt of his own NFL record in
Tervor Lawrence seventeen to twenty one, one hundred ninety one yards,
three touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
The Jags are going to win a.
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Division title, meaning Houston will be a wild card once again.
Harvin and Husky here, Fox Sports Radio. All right, coming
up later, guys, Match A. Bears need a win at
home against the Lions to wrap up the two seed.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
The Lions are lines playing everybody, Chris are lines playing
every Why would they not play everybody least?
Speaker 7 (01:15:16):
I'm going to imagine if it's Dan Campbell, I think
it's at Unit.
Speaker 1 (01:15:20):
I'm just asking, I mean, who would have thought before that?
Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
You remember we were talking about this last week The
over unner on the Lions coming off of fifteen and
two season was ten and a.
Speaker 1 (01:15:30):
Half and a half. It was ten and a half,
or like ten and a half. You're telling me a
team that won fifteen games is not going to win eleven.
We all took the over too.
Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
And they are staring at a losing season. And Jared
Goff forty two hundred yards passing thirty three touchdowns, only
seven picks. He is the third highest passer rating in
the entire NFL, and everyone's like, god, he looks terrible
this year. Jamiir Gibbs, Remember we were talking about Jamiir Gibbs.
Where where is the guy that we were hoping guys
(01:16:01):
had a.
Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
Phenomenal year since so Sigly Amar Roight, say bron look
at him, one hundred and six, get to twelve hundred
plus yards, eleven touch yep.
Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
So when you look at your start, when you look
at Golf, when you look at Gibbs, when you look
at Saint Brown, they are putting very similar numbers that
they put up a year ago, and yet they go
from fifteen to two to the possibility of a losing season.
Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
I'll let Chris have this one. This is his account.
Speaker 7 (01:16:26):
No, I was gonna I was gonna say real quick,
I haven't seen any about whether or not they'll play
on and Ross. Saint Brown says trending in the right way.
But Nope, nay seol for that offensive line, which might
just be the final nail.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Okay, if you had said before, if you had said
before the season that Gibbs and Golf and Saint Brown
would have those numbers, I think you'd be pretty confident
they went at least eleven games.
Speaker 7 (01:16:48):
I would have asked, how's the defense looking right? Because
that's that's ultimately what these last two years have kept
coming back to.
Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Have they missed Aaron Glenn more than they have missed
their offensive coordinator?
Speaker 7 (01:16:58):
No, they haven't. They've once again got this injury bite
in such a very way.
Speaker 1 (01:17:04):
I don't know why. You know, like this is all random.
You know this.
Speaker 7 (01:17:07):
We can't just go and blame a strength conditioning coach
or whatever, as much as convenient that would be. Look,
I think they made some gambles on what they were
going to do as this offense on offensive coordinator with
John Morton. They brought in someone that they thought was
like the most comfortable to work with Jared Goff and
it's worked fine. But like as always, the problem with
Jared Goff is he needs an offensive line to keep
him very upright and comfortable. And losing Kevin Zeitler and
(01:17:30):
losing Frank rag Now before this year was a blow
that they did not have an answer fighter again.
Speaker 1 (01:17:35):
And these kind of numbers, there's no way he could
have predicted a losing season.
Speaker 7 (01:17:40):
Here's I'm sorry. I was gonna say, you're you're right.
I would have thought they at least had a winning
season in there. But after watching these games, you know
that as much of those Jared golf games are concentrated
in a lot of good games, the bad games are
really bad.
Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
Okay, So let's let's look forward to twenty twenty six.
This is a fascinating division, the NC North. So the
Bears were predicted to be better this year, and because
they've won so many close games.
Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
They've been better than better and they end up winning
the division title. All right.
Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
We've got the Vikings trying to get their quarterback situation
on track again, justin Jefferson saying I believe in JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
We'll see how that plays out. The Packers another team
that is like, where are we with the Packers right now? Okay,
they sneak into the play too, you know they dea
will be big underdogs on the road, you know that
kind of thing. And then and then you have the Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
So if you were to project into twenty twenty six,
give me a one through four next year in that
NFC North. What do you see NFC North in twenty
twenty six. Let's get on record right now between the Lions,
the Bears, the Vikings, and the Packers, Bears, Bearses.
Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
Bears a going that division for the next two years. Okay, Bears,
pack pack mm hmm. These next It's just like you know,
the the injuries on the defensive side for the for
the for the for the Lions, and they've lost both
(01:19:21):
games to the to the you know, they've lost both
games to the Vikings this year, and the Vikings have
had a you know, quarterbacks in and out all year long.
Speaker 7 (01:19:28):
I mean, let me this, I can see this. I
could see this as Packers, Lions, Bears.
Speaker 1 (01:19:34):
Okay, so let's say.
Speaker 7 (01:19:35):
Especially if they if the Lions get a fourth place
schedule like that, that's the night and day this year's true.
Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
They're gonna get a first place schedule. Next year, the
Bears will get a first place Bears will get a
first of their schedule will be tougher, and we know
how bad the schedule has been this year. We get that,
But we can say the same thing about the Patriots.
We know the Patriots. Next year, you're gonna and you're
gonna have to go on the road, some of them
AFC other some of them a FC teams like you
probably gotta come out here and play the Chargers next year,
You're probably gonna have to go to Kansas City or
go to Denvert next year and play some of these
(01:20:02):
tougher teams. I mean, it's it's it's a tough division
to even try to line up. I'll just go. I'll
just go cause I feel like I feel like the
I trust the Lions offense because they are more veteran
led than I do the Vikings offense as far as
going into next season, because it's not just the quarterback position.
(01:20:22):
They have the better running back, they have the better
not better receiver, but they have more receivers next place.
Speaker 7 (01:20:27):
Your schedules like ride bestween, third and fourth, look at
some of these teams are gonna finish third this year
in the NFC, and.
Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
They're gonna have easy. This third place might be brutal, Chris,
let me have a shit with five seconds to go.
Is Dan Campbell safe if they missed the playoffs next year? Yes?
Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
Okay, so he is like Wayne Fonce was back for
years in Detroit.
Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
This Zone radiouke alright, rolling along here on the final
Sunday of the NFL regular season.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
End Zone Radio, Harbin and Husky with you once again.
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 1 (01:21:02):
All right, So I'm trying to figure this out right now.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
With Jacksonville blowing out the Titans today, so they of
course will clinch a division title in the AFC South.
Speaker 1 (01:21:13):
You mean a foreign thirty? You mean the foreign thirteen
Jacksonville jackson last year. Yeah, that team that's turning around
all right. Speaking of turnarounds, do you know what time
it is? No huddle? It is the no huddle hour.
Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
No better way to break into the no huddle hour
than well having a gentleman that we believe is the
absolute best in the biz. He's going to be working
the game today between the Dolphins and the Patriots, the
great Greg Olsen is joining us once again. Greg, We've
been talking throughout really this season just you know, what's
up is down, down is up. It's just been an
absolutely crazy season around the National Football League, and one
(01:21:50):
of the big turnarounds obviously, has been that of the
New England Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:21:55):
We were talking earlier about this league MVP award. Greg.
Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
Right now, if you were to fill out your ballot
for regular season MVP in the NFL for twenty twenty five,
your vote would go to.
Speaker 6 (01:22:08):
Well, certainly, that's a million dollar question, and I think
if you had asked me a couple of weeks ago,
I think my answer might be a little bit different.
But I think after a week of studying Drake May
and really diving into all the things that he does
that makes this New England Patriots offense so good, this
team so good, how fast he's developed, I think right now,
if I had a vote, it would go to Drake May.
(01:22:29):
I just think, you know, really, the only knock that
people want to throw on his season is, you know,
the schedule of opponents and win loss record and certainly
completely out of his control. But when you look at
all the different elements that go into playing high level quarterback.
And you know, we joked last night you can kind
of spin a wheel and wherever the wheel ends up,
you could just assume that he's among the best, if
(01:22:50):
not the best, at that given category. He's just good
at pretty much every facet. This season of quarterback play
at a high level and has turned around, you know,
has one of the most historic turner in back to
back seasons in NFL history, and it's playing today needs
some things that go asway, but playing today for a
potential number one seed. So I think when you add
it all up right now, I think, you know, I'd
(01:23:10):
give my vote to Drake May. And that's nothing against Stafford.
He's been remarkable as well.
Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
It's great that you mentioned Stafford's name because that's where
my vote would go. And I thought, I'm with you.
I think Drake May has been very, very impressive, and
Mike rabel is what he's done with his team, it's
just in his pedigree. You've you've been around great quarterbacks,
whether you're winning national championships in college, are playing with
an MVP in the NFL. I've been saying all year long,
and we're a change into the guard, Greg like we were,
(01:23:38):
We're out of the Brady era, and Peyton and Big
Ben and Uncle Phil came back and gave us three
weeks of some nostalgia. But we're in a We're in
a new era of quarterback. Any concern from you going
into the postseason, We have some unquestioned some some unanswered
questions about some of these quarterbacks. To Drake Mayo, bow Nicks,
(01:23:59):
Caleb William, what do you expect and how do you
expect from what you've seen in your NFL career these
guys to perform and react when now all the marbles
are in, all the chips will push to the middle
of the table and it's win or go home.
Speaker 6 (01:24:14):
Yeah, you know, I'm not sure how much stock I
put into a lot of that. You know. I think
what's so unique about the NFL is, you know, these
are one game series, and I think you can get
to a playoff game after having a fantastic regular season
and for whatever reason, that one game just doesn't go
your way. Right, We're not losing best to seven series,
You're not losing best of fives like you are in
some of the other sports postseasons. So I think, to
(01:24:36):
a degree, I think a lot gets made about you know,
wins and losses in playoff experience. I think nowadays with
a lot of these guys, they're used to playing in
primetime games, they're used to playing in marquee moments. They've
been playing in under the spotlights since they've been twenty
twenty one years old, all the way back to college.
So I don't think the postseason really is going to
change much. Certainly, no guarantees that you win fourteen regular
(01:24:59):
season games, you know, guarantees that you win one in
the postseason. I think of all the years we've seen,
this might be the most parody amongst playoff teams, especially
in the AFC, right, you know, And so you have
these young quarterbacks. You have Trevor Lawrence, and you have
Drake May, and you have Bo Nicks, and you know,
some unproven guys that we're not used to seeing necessarily
at this level quite yet in their career. But I've
(01:25:20):
had wonderful seasons. And someone's going to lose. But I
don't think necessarily they're going to lose because they're young
or because they're inexperienced. I think it'll just be more
so that only one team can win each game, and
someone's down to go home.
Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
On the other side, the Dolphins disappointing season, a horrific
start to the year. They got some momentum late a
little too little, too late. Does Mike McDaniel still a
guy that you can build your future around in Miami
or should they make a change?
Speaker 6 (01:25:53):
Well, certainly going to be a big part of our
of our storylines and conversations today during the game. I
think that in question can't be held, you know, without
taking into account where does the organization feel like they
are in terms of the quarterback. You understand, you already
need to replace your general manager. That'll be the step
one of the process, you know, and then if you
(01:26:14):
feel like you're you don't have your starting quarterback on
your roster. And now there's a lot of people that
are very optimistic about Quinn yours and you know his
potential as being that next quarterback since they've moved on
from Tua and you know, he's moved into a reserved role.
You know, is it Tua? Do they feel like they
bring him back next year and they're able to get
more out of him? So I still think that the
quarterback question still needs to be answered, and I think
(01:26:36):
if the court If the decision is we're going to
move forward with a different path and a different plan
at quarterback, and that plan does not involve a guy
on the roster, then you have to say, Okay, do
we want to replace two of the three major prongs
of an organization quarterback, head, coach, general manager. If we're
going to replace two of them, we might as well
just reset and start all three of them. If you
do feel like Quinn yours is promising and he is
(01:26:58):
your young quarterback that you're going to ride into the
off season as your presumed starter, then maybe there is
a little bit of an argument to keep Mike McDaniel
and keep a little with continuity and let him continue
to grow in this offense. I think solving the coach
situation and the quarterback situation very much go hand in hand.
Speaker 1 (01:27:15):
I totally one youre percent agree with you as far
as that two out of three as concerned. And don't
forget to have to replace VP of operations also too.
They let them and the assistant VP of operations go
also man. So flip back to the Patriots, Mike vrabel
I have as my coach of the Year and I
named him that about two weeks ago, and I said,
I wasn't going to change my mind. Just your thoughts
of Coach of the year, what he's done with this team,
(01:27:37):
the longevity that he could be building here, and are
are we looking at a remake of a Patriot run
where they're just reeling off twelve, thirteen, fourteen wins every
single year for the next decade and kind of just
redoing what Bill Belichick and Tom Brady had done under
Rob Bob Kraft and this franchise before.
Speaker 6 (01:27:58):
Well, certainly that's the hope for everybody here in the
Patriots that this is the start of kind of their
second dynasty. And again, there's no givens they could end
up they got thirteen if they win today, they have fourteen.
You know, you win fourteen games, there's no guarantee that
you're going to win ten next year. You know, eleven,
twelve alone fourteen, So you know, your schedule gets harder,
your draft picks get lower, you know, your roster gets pillaged.
(01:28:20):
The idea of the league is designed to bring good
teams down and bring bad teams up. That's the nature
of the business. But I do think from a long
term sustainability perspective, I do think they sit in really
good position. They got a young MVP caliber quarterback that
they don't have to pay a market rate contract over
the next couple of years. They've got eleven draft picks
in this upcoming year's draft, and they got top ten
(01:28:43):
in cap money that they could spend because they're not
allocating a lot of it to the quarterback position. So
you add all that up and certainly the idea of
being in the running for a long period of time
is certainly on the table. So I think Vrabel's done
an incredible job executing his vision, executing through the draft,
bringing in the right veterans to piece around their young quarterback,
(01:29:03):
and so far, you know, pretty obviously the record speaks
for itself. They pulled a lot of the right levers
to to have a great season. Now, now the ultimate
challenge of all this is how do you keep it
going over long periods of time. That's certainly the biggest
hurdle in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:29:18):
Is he your coach of the year.
Speaker 6 (01:29:19):
Greg, Yeah, you know, I think if I if I
had a vote, I think what the job Mike McDonald
has done up in Seattle pretty remarkable. I think, you know,
you factor in the fact that he's got the number
one defense in the league. He's calling the defense, first
year play caller on offense, first year quarterback, and Sam Donald.
(01:29:40):
You know, so certainly a lot an argument that we
made there. I said last week we had the Jaguars,
and I think the job Liam Cullen has done turning
around in an organization that is not accustomed to winning.
They're not accustomed to this level of success, likely going
to win the division, host the playoff game, doing it
with a roster that had one Pro bowler and it
was the long snapper. And then you factor in the
(01:30:02):
futility they've had the last couple of seasons in the
turnaround they made, and he's the one calling the plays.
He's the one developing Trevor Lawrence and bringing out the
best of him that no one has else really seemed
to be able to capitalize on. So I actually think
if I had a vote, I might give my vote
to Liam Cohen as far as doing the most with
the least, and bring in that he's calling all the
(01:30:23):
offensive plays. Certainly he's carrying a lot higher of the
you know, of the role of the of the load.
Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
There's no doubt on the AFC side. After seven straight
years of the Chiefs meeting in the AFC Championship Game,
five of those years into the Super Bowl, three time
Super Bowl champion, the AFC wide over this year, that
is for sure. Greg. We always appreciate the time.
Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
We mean it when we said you're the best of
the best, and we always appreciate the conversation.
Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
Thanks so much.
Speaker 6 (01:30:53):
I appreciate it, guys.
Speaker 1 (01:30:54):
Blessed Greg. That's Greg Olsen joining us right there. So yeah,
from the AFC standpoint, it really is wide open. And
you know, you talk about Jacksonville, I think we're both
in the court on Liam Gohing and what he's been
able to do. And you just feel like the Jags
have got some momentum going right now. I mean Trevor
Lawrence's confidence. I mean just look at him right now.
(01:31:16):
He has a look.
Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
I asked you, can he get the visual of him
hoisting the trophy? The answer is yes, I can see it.
Speaker 1 (01:31:21):
I can see I can definitely see him doing it.
But those other two names you gave me no and
they and they're the team that we've seen go on
the road to the big Dog Denver up there in
the thin air and put it on him. That defense
that's been great all year hung thirty plus on them
like it was nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
By the way, Miles Garrett still no sacks. So we
got twelve minutes to go on the fourth quarter. The Browns,
thanks to a pick six and a fumble return for
a touchdown, still leading the Bengals by a score of
seventeen to twelve.
Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
They've had no offense in this game. They haven't needed that.
They're still winning. He didn't have a defense. Uh yeah,
the Bengals have no defense. But the line is I mean, guys,
if Miles Garrett doesn't get this record, like what the
hell happened, that could be a huge disappointment. I mean,
we were like, he's gonna blow the record away. Is
that is that Graham being carted off the rookie from
(01:32:15):
Michigan defensive tackle?
Speaker 2 (01:32:17):
Yeah, all right, so we'll see what happens there, and
of course the other huge games. Saints, by the way,
have a fourth and goal right now at the Falcons
one yard line. There's three minutes to go in the
third quarter. Saints on a fourth down, shut throws in
the end zone, cat touchdown.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
No flag. There's a flag in the back of the
end zone. That's affairs. We're gonna watch the flag right now.
So on fourth and one, and the Saints are not
happy right now, it looks like it's gonna be offensive
pass interference and they're not celebrating, and it is offensive
pass interference, so that means that. Well again though it's
two minutes to go on the third curd they'll have
(01:32:56):
to kick a field goal on fourth down, they move
it back. Falcons win Carolina? Is it?
Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
If the Saints win or tie, then it's Tampa Bay
winning the NFC South.
Speaker 1 (01:33:11):
This is end zone radio, end zone radio?
Speaker 2 (01:33:15):
Is it not the No Huddle Hour? Am I right
about that? Is this the no Huddle Hour?
Speaker 1 (01:33:21):
Yeah? The no Huddle Hour?
Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
We're in the Fox Sports radio studios. All right, quick
rundown of the scoreboard. It's a weird Final Sunday because
they're actually more afternoon games than morning games. All right,
let's start at the top. Falcons leading the Saints thirteen
to ten. So after the offensive pass interference in the
end zone, Saints settle for a field goal. That game
(01:33:45):
has now moved to the fourth quarter. Huge game, obviously.
Follow that to the finish Bengals trailing the Browns, seventeen
to twelve. Story here again, is Miles Garrett still looking
for that record setting sack and the Bengals have the
ball right now. They're at midfield six and a half
minutes ago in the fourth quarter. Joe Burrow is in
(01:34:07):
at quarterback right now. He's throwing a couple of touchdown passes.
Problems is the Bengals can't get an extra point. So
Miles Garrett trying to get to Joe Burrow in this game,
and we'll keep an eye on that. Vikings over the
Packers thirteen to nothing. The Packers literally are playing their
practice squad today, I mean their practice squad.
Speaker 1 (01:34:26):
They just completely mailed in this game. They are locked
into the seventh c NFBS.
Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
Giants all over the Cowboys today twenty four to ten.
So after the Giants lost to the Raiders last week,
with a number one overall pick on the line, they're like,
what the heck? By the way, Jackson Dart today is
playing well seventeen or twenty five two in one yards
and two touchdowns? Is he the quarterback? I mean, are
the Giants, whether the second pick or third pick in
(01:34:52):
the draft, are they trading down? They're not in a
position to look at quarterback. Are they Well, again, we
don't know what their coaching sa situations.
Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
I was gonna say it all depends on what their
coach wants to do that they bring in. And then also, guys,
just because it's not a quarterback at the top of
the draft doesn't mean that the coach that comes in
doesn't have his eye and is enamored or in love
with someone in college that you can get in the second, third,
or fourth round. It feels like I can develop that guy.
(01:35:23):
We can get him cheap as hell. We have a
number one receiver that's going to be coming back from
an ACL or the Achilles. I forgot what neighbors towards
the the ACL or Achilles. We have other weapons here.
This defense, I've been saying all year long, Giants defense
shows up. Guys, they're tough. They got a lot of
good young players on this defense. And is that it
right there? And did he just get it there?
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:35:46):
Yes, yes, just record and it is official with five
minutes ago in the fourth quarter, Miles Garrett, you're here.
Speaker 8 (01:35:55):
Yes, that's so funny. How badly we all want him Garrett.
Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
So there is Miles Garrett as sack Joe Burrow and
set the NFL single season record for sacks.
Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
He will have the record alone. So Miles Garrett, it
took a while, but he got it. He's bobbed by
his teammates right now because.
Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
He should be. Man, they need to stop the game
right here, man, Stop this game is five minutes left.
Stop this thing.
Speaker 2 (01:36:24):
First of all, the Bengals are trying to win. Well,
they're they're stopping it right now. They're getting a plenty
of times.
Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
Well damn point.
Speaker 8 (01:36:30):
I was going to read you guys this tweet from
Benjamin Solak. Joe Burrow currently has a time to throw
two point four to six seconds, would be the lowest
of his season. He averaged two point three. So they
were very clearly doing what Aaron Rodgers did last weekend.
Just trying to get the ball out of there.
Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
You can see it. Yeah, balls that he normally doesn't
like in the dir left and right, just trying to
get rid of it. Yeah work, yeah, and it did
work good. All right.
Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
So there is twenty three sacks, breaks the record that
Michael Strahan TJ.
Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
Watts share the record at twenty two and a half.
Oh yeah, he knew it too. He knew it. He
got off good. Look at his differ right here, give
me that. Yeah, you comet, you come here. I want
this record. I've earned it by the way, I think
you should leave. I love Joe Burrow on that so
he knows he's getting sacked right, so almost takes the
(01:37:18):
fetal position.
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
It's a good photo. It's a good photo because you
hit that photo of him over. Joe Burrow, one of
the top quarterbacks in the league. Joe's still trying to
bring his team back.
Speaker 1 (01:37:29):
Now now, Joe, Now, Joe scrambling around right now. See
that's how you know it was fagas since that they
were trying to keep it from Now he's scrambling around
like holding onto the ball. Oh, get out of here.
I've never have you ever seen like the league or
players not want a guy to get a record before. Yes,
win many times. Yes, I've never had that far. I've
(01:37:49):
never had far. Not only that. Do you remember Emmitt
Smith's run for his record. It was almost like they
parted the season. Emmitt Smith, if you remember, fell and
rolled forward guys to be the all time leading rusher
because defenders knew what was up and he had put
his time in when a guy puts their time in,
you're what are you playing for? Come on, man, I
(01:38:11):
meant that Brett Farv took that dive to avoid that. No, no,
he no, Brett Farv. Brett Farv like laid down for
straight hand. If you go back and watch that film,
he gives straight hand when he's walking back to the huddle.
He gives straight hand like a little wink, like a
guy like I'm coming your way, by the way, his
next play.
Speaker 2 (01:38:30):
By the way, guys, Adam Kaplan our NFL insider when
he was doing the tour training camps, told us lookout
for Miles Garrett this year, like he is completely unblockable.
As great as he is, future Hall of Famer, watch
his game go next level and he was on the money.
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
Miles the money too. I can't give that to Capitlain
because I remember Monci reading the update the day that
he signed his end of the Capitol. Remember he gave
it his deal. That's a bad team, man, The Sounds
are a bad team. We picked the minute Monty said
he was resigned, he was getting that deal. I said, yeah,
there's your defensive player of the year. There's your defensive
He's gonna win defensive.
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
Player reported again seeing him up close in person, I
get it. I've been seeing his entire career that that
suddenly Miles Garrett, conditioning whatever it.
Speaker 1 (01:39:17):
Might be, had taken his game. And also, I told
you so segment that we did back in August, I
predict that he would break the sack record is I
got it. I'm looking at it right now. I wrote
it down to my little red notebook right here. I
wrote it down that Miles Garrett would get the sack
record this year. So I'm just I'm just happy for
him because I think he's a great player. I think
he's the type of pro NFL player that you want
to you want to model, Like if you tell your
(01:39:38):
son to look at a guy, he would be a
guy you would say, hey, you know you could chance,
okay to cheer for that guy right there?
Speaker 8 (01:39:44):
Watching the play again, how mad do you think everybody
in the world would be if they had thrown the
flag for the false start.
Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
To tackle absolutely early all the time.
Speaker 6 (01:39:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:39:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:39:57):
By the way, guys, we have something developing right now
in this Colts Texans game. So the Colts came to
play today, Riley Leonard's playing very well, sixteen or twenty six,
two hundred and fifty five yards and two touchdowns. If
the Colts beat the Texans and the Chargers lose and
(01:40:17):
the Bills win, the Bills are the five.
Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
Seed guys going to going to either Pittsburgh or Baltimore.
Because at the start of the day, the Texans, the Chargers,
Bills all had the same record.
Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
So if the Texans lose this game and the Chargers
are mailing in their game against the Broncos and the
Bills beat the Jets at home, all of a sudden,
the Bills avoid Jacksonville in the first round and would
play the winner of the game later between the Steelers
and the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (01:40:52):
Bills is Steelers, give me the Bills, Bills a Ravens,
give me to Ravens.
Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
Why would you take the Ravens based on what track record?
Have you missed the fact that Lamar Jackson has three
playoff wins.
Speaker 1 (01:41:03):
No, but you're going to keep minching that like it
matters this year, and it doesn't. Really, it doesn't matter.
It's just keep knocking He's hard. It's a way for
you to keep knocking Lamar Jackson's harball, So it doesn't matter.
This year, hurt his playoff. His playoff record has zero
to do with this playoffs, zero to do it. Okay,
(01:41:24):
you put your life savings on the Ravens to beat
the Bills, not my playoff, not my life savings. No,
I never said life savings. You seem pretty confident. Well,
confident doesn't mean life saving.
Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
I mean I would be more confident if Lamar Jackson
were healthy. He's not healthy. He hasn't been healthy all
season long.
Speaker 1 (01:41:38):
And Buffalo has been up and down all year long.
They have been so Honestly, the Bills and the Eagles
have had the same season. And first of all, we
didn't even talk about this. We're not going to talk
about what the Eagles went up the Buffalo and did.
We just gonna let that go by. The Eagles went
up the Buffalo and did what they did, and we
were ready to right the Eagles off two months ago, right,
and we're still writing off the Eagles. No One. Everyone
(01:42:00):
seems to think that the three teams in the NFC West,
the Seahawks, Rams and the forty nine ers are better
than any other team maybe in the league. Well that
doesn't mean just because people think.
Speaker 2 (01:42:11):
I don't think bo is that too much of an
exaggeration that the three best teams in the NFL all
reside in the NFC West, I think too.
Speaker 1 (01:42:18):
I think the Seahawks and the ramsay, so you just
eliminated the Niners after yesterday, I can't wait for the
Eagles to get to the NFC championship game in here?
What you guys got to sign? I just don't trust
the offense. And you know what, bo, you're that's legit
and that's very valid. But if they're, if they're, that
defense is going to keep them in and if they
make up player too, if aj if we can say
(01:42:40):
this is about all these teams though right, we don't truy,
we don't trust Sam done on that offense. That was
I think that points yesterday.
Speaker 8 (01:42:46):
I think that game last week is the perfect encapsulation
of why it's so tough for me to trust the Eagles.
You asked the defense to stand on its head for
four quarters.
Speaker 1 (01:42:54):
And they did. They're gassed, but they were. They did,
but close to to not stay. Yeah, but they did
it just long enough, long enough.
Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
If everything plays out as expected today with the Rams
beating the Cardinals at home to get the five seed,
we'll see how legit the Eagles are.
Speaker 1 (01:43:16):
You guys are gonna you're gonna play with Hoodie on
next week. I swear you guys are gonna make me
turn into it. I'm trying, Yes, I do, man, because
I'm riding hard, all right? Can I just do this
real fast? I'm ronning, I'm running. You guys are making
me upset about well, we are all your time the way.
Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
We got the power of five coming up a little
bit Eagles, and that's gonna be tough because we got
so many afternoon games normally only have a couple of
afternoon games today.
Speaker 1 (01:43:43):
Uh So there it is. They're replaying it over and
over again as well as they should.
Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
Miles Garret getting the single season stack record with five
minutes ago. U By the way, the Bengals trailing right now.
They get a fourth down against the Browns seventeen to twelve,
Browns on the strength of a pick six and a
fumble return for the touchdown. So right now the Browns
are punting back to the Bengals. Let's find out what's
(01:44:08):
trending right now in the meantime, Eagles as.
Speaker 1 (01:44:13):
They are defending Super Bowl champions. If you tell Rams
I could say Eagles they are Super Bowl champs until
somebody knocks them. Why Eagles, FOXI how are you?
Speaker 10 (01:44:23):
I'm fine. I don't care about the Eagles. I care
about this.
Speaker 1 (01:44:26):
Bengals have it.
Speaker 11 (01:44:26):
The first half of the Browns forty five yard Life
Borough shotgun throw to throw.
Speaker 1 (01:44:31):
Here's a bo on of them. He got them there.
Speaker 12 (01:44:35):
It is Miles Garrett sack number twenty three, the new
single season sack king and the Browns defense mops. They're
mad at the Cincinnati forty five yard line.
Speaker 3 (01:44:52):
All right, it's official Browns Radio network.
Speaker 10 (01:44:55):
The record has been broken. Waiting for it for a
few weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
Now, Miles Garrett Man, Brown's up on the Bengal seventeen
to twelve, three minutes to go in this one and Cincinnati.
We'll go back to Atlanta here for a second before
we check the rest of the score. Since we're all
watching this game. Saints and Falcons, they're determining who's gonna
win their division.
Speaker 10 (01:45:14):
But it's not gonna be either of them.
Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
If the Falcons win, and the Panthers get the division.
If the Saints winner, if it ends in a tie,
then Tampa Bay and Baker Mayfield get the Division. The
Falcons right now are up sixteen to ten, but plenty
of game to go. It's very early in the fourth quarter.
The Viking's still on top of the Packers sixteen zero
with about four minutes to go. There the Jaguars in
(01:45:36):
the end zone once again. They're crushing the Titans forty
one to seven with about seven minutes to go. They're
gonna win the division. Cam Little hit a sixty seven
yard field goal. They are just ending the regular season on.
Speaker 10 (01:45:47):
A high note.
Speaker 3 (01:45:48):
The Giants still on top of the Cowboys twenty four
to seventeen early in the fourth quarter there, and yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:45:53):
Riley Leonard is not having a bad outing.
Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
Four of the Colts who lead the Texans twenty seven
to twenty six.
Speaker 10 (01:46:00):
They're very late in the third quarter here.
Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
Houston would have to win this game and then the
Jaguars would have to lose in order for Houston to
win the division. So that's what's going on. They're obviously seating.
Everything moves around a little bit once we get the
final scores. When it comes to the NBA, the Cavaliers
have cut their deficit, but the Pistons are up seventy
to sixty seven with about seven minutes to go in
the third quarter. Late in the first quarter, the Pacers
(01:46:23):
lead the Magic twenty seven to nineteen. And in men's
college hoops, FoST fourth ranked Yukon is extending their lead
over Marquet. They're up fifty two to thirty seven with
about ten minutes to go in the second half.
Speaker 1 (01:46:36):
Back to you guys, all right, moncie, A lot of
crazy stuff going on right now. We're no one want
to keep our hot high.
Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
In this Colts Texans game because if the Texans lose
and the Chargers apparently mailing in that game against Denver,
if the Bills beat the Jets at home, they could
jump from a seven seed to eight five seed.
Speaker 1 (01:46:57):
That would be huge.
Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
All right, once again, we're on the Fox Sports Radios studios.
With the iHeartRadio app, you can stream us wherever you
happen to be. Catch us and all of our Fox

of your presets in the iHeart app, so it always
(01:47:19):
pop up at the top of your scream, all right,
So as we keep our eye right now on the Bengals.
Bengals trailing the Browns seventeen to twelve, and there is
two and a half minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
They are nearing midfield right now? Is there a future?
Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
So we've already established this if you're just tuning in.
VJA has guaranteed that within the next twelve months, Joe
Burrow will be traded by the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (01:47:51):
Yeah. So, and Zach Taylor is not going anywhere? Is
that right? I don't know about that. I'm not sure.
They don't fire anything. They don't fire her coaches. I mean,
will Marvin Lewis through seven straight playoffs?
Speaker 7 (01:48:04):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:48:04):
So, I don't know. I'm not I'm not gonna make
an opinion on that. And my opinion is strictly on
just Joe Burrow. I just think and I said this
to Bo and Chris doing one commercial break, I honestly
just believe someone on he doesn't want to be there,
he wants out. And the way it's gonna happen is
he's gonna make such a stink about it this off season.
There's gonna be a lot of talk about this this
(01:48:25):
off season and someone that the Circle's gonna go Listen,
We'll handle all the logistics. You go on podcasts, you
go on shows, go on Twitch, live stream, whatever, whatever, whatever,
and keep talking cryptically the way you've been talking. Will
handle the rest of it. Joe Burrow does not want
to be there anymore, Okay, he doesn't.
Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
If I put Joe Burrow on the market, who's obviously
age white, still in the prime of his career, right,
I would say, all right, here's what I want. I
want three number ones and three number twos.
Speaker 1 (01:48:56):
You're not getting that. I won them. But you're not
getting that. Yeah you are. No, you're not for Joe Brow.
No you're not three ones, three twos. No you're not.
I'm telling you right now, you're not three ones, three two.
You're not getting that. So the price is gonna come
down now. I get what you're doing now, and I
agree with you. You you asked for Hi, right, you're not.
You don't have a comp here of trading this player,
but his career you're not getting there. You're not getting yet.
(01:49:20):
You're not getting that, though, So just stop that guy, Jeffers,
And I'm sorry, what was Matthew Stafford's track record in Detroit.
Speaker 7 (01:49:26):
Compard to Joe Burden, but he got him a Super
Bowl immediately going there, and the Rams gave up even
without that track record you're talking about. The Rams gave
up two first, a third and Jared Golf.
Speaker 1 (01:49:36):
Okay, so something like that. But two, three first and
three second you're not getting. But if you can throw
that out there and then you can start some It's
like when you're a kid and you made the Christmas list, right,
no less than three number ones, Okay, and that's fine.
If you want three number one is cool, but those
three seconds missing me with that, you're not getting that,
and neither are they. So they will buck down because
(01:49:58):
what he is going to do, he's going to make
it impossible for you.
Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
To want what is your what is your Since we've
also agreed that maybe Lamar Jackson could be on the
trade block because they don't want to pay seventy four
million dollars for Lamar Jackson coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:50:14):
First two first for Lamar two first, two first. I
just think that some team will do it, some team
will look at him and go, you know what, we
can unlock and he's still in his prime we can
unlock what Baltimore could not unlocked. And you gotta also
think about this too. And I keep saying this about Lamar.
What if there's a team out there, Steve that's got
a legitimate w R one. He's never had that there.
(01:50:37):
His best receiver has been a tight end. That's never
gonna win it all for you when you're best receiver. Okay,
how many new fifteen? Ask Cam Newt who went fifteen
and one with the Gentleman. We just spoke to you, guys, Guys,
guys wide receiver. When we talk about elite wide receivers,
we've seen elite wide receivers disappear when they don't have
(01:50:58):
a quarterback to get him a ball. I mean, he
goes hand in hand.
Speaker 2 (01:51:02):
Randy Moss disappeared with the Raiders for two years and
then suddenly re emerged with the Patriots of Tom Brady.
Speaker 1 (01:51:09):
But for two years he was anonymous with the Raiders.
What was he before that? With Dante Colepepper and Ronald
Cunningham elite quarterbacks. Obviously the first team receiver for like
five straight. When he went to the Raiders where they
had no quarterback, he disappeared when he sucks there. But
Tim Brown at the receiver position. Everybody and Tim Brown
had to go through a bunch of you were there,
he had to go through a bunch of quarterbacks. But
(01:51:31):
Tim Brown is a legend, like that's an icon. Actually
I was only there for his rookie season. That's how
far back I go.
Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
But anyway that aside, you know all I know when
I look at Tom Brady, Tom Brady took a lot
of nobody's, like the.
Speaker 1 (01:51:45):
Edelman's of the world. All these guys that were nobody's
made him a lead receivers, right, got the receivers he
has Randy Moss for a couple of years and Gronk
but the goat. But the goat can do that. We
started to do the goat can do that because you're
to go. When you're gonna ask you this, you make
everybody good. That's that's what makes you go.
Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
You know what we're not talking about today are the Chiefs.
We're not talking about the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (01:52:09):
Are They AFC West for the first time in forever,
After nine straight division titles, they are out seven straight
trips to the AFC Championship Game. They are out and
guess what are you are? You.
Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
I made the proclamation before the season began. Going back
to post Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes has played in his
final Super Bowl. Anybody gonna argue against that. Well, you
changed it, though, and we let we never changed.
Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
You did change it because you added with the Chiefs
in the middle of the I is not say that,
yes you did. Oh we got it, we got the Tate. Well,
first of all, Mahomes is never gonna play for another
team other than the Chiefs. I don't think that at all.
Speaker 2 (01:52:51):
Oh you think the Chiefs are gonna trade Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (01:52:54):
I just think that at some point Patrick Mahomes might
look at this situation and go, Okay, I'm not used
to this. I'm used to conference.
Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
Championship games, if any, the NBA, where players can dictate trade.
Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
Oh, yes they can, really, Yes they can, Yes they can.
This is a new age of NFL. Now, yes, yes
they can, Yes they can. Really. So you think the
Chiefs are gonna trade Mahone.
Speaker 6 (01:53:15):
No.
Speaker 1 (01:53:15):
What I think is gonna happen is and if Andy Reid,
if this is Andy reids last year, Okay, I think
Spags is probably gonna get some Spags are gonna get
some looks for head coaching position. Maggie bet or not
he was one of the worst head coaches in the NFL. Oh,
but that doesn't mean you can't. That doesn't even that
doesn't mean you're not gonna get an opportunity, though you
(01:53:36):
guys are ready to get rid of than people have
seen enough of Spags as a head ghast. Well, listen,
we think that people have seen enough of I'm sorry
he's kipping my name Bourd to coach for the for
the bucks. I'm sorry. Yeah, but right, we've seen enough
of balls. But the reports are what's the report? The
reports are He's safe, right, But we've seen enough of
Tom Bowles, we see her.
Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
A lot of guys are safe. We heard Mike McDaniel's say.
We also hear whereeem Wrris is saying, like we hear
guys Will saying. I was watching the Dolphins broadcast and
they were I was listening to somebody talking about the
Dolphins that it was already done. McDaniel's gone, I'm like,
he's done.
Speaker 1 (01:54:10):
No, it's not like I said. I've been telling you
guys all your long for everything I've been here, and
we have been told he doesn't. I'm sorry. The owner
doesn't want to get rid of He doesn't want to
fire him and have to really just start over. He
just he believes he's a good coach. He believes he
can get the best out of his team.
Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
All right, quick question, do you believe the Chiefs will
be in the playoffs next year? Just in the playoffs?
Do you think the Chiefs will be in the playoffs
next year?
Speaker 1 (01:54:32):
No? Okay, so that's a big note anybody. That's because
I don't I don't know. The Broncos are on the rise, right,
the Chargers are on the rise. Right. The Raiders are
awful and they're going to be awful for a long time.
The worst team in the league. They are team. Anybody
in there think the Chiefs are going to be in
the playoffs next year? No? No, I think they'll be
(01:54:55):
in as a wild card. I mean, we still don't
even know when when home. That's my thing is when
is mah Holmes comes We don't know, We don't know.
Speaker 9 (01:55:01):
That's the thing. You's gonna a year, wine, tell me
when he comes back? When is he effective?
Speaker 2 (01:55:08):
By the way, Bengals have taken the lead over the
Browns eighteen seventeen minute to go, there, and we are
the one game we're keeping our eye on. Falcon Saints
will decide the winner of the NFC South Falcons with
a sixteen to ten lead over the Saints with six
minutes to go, keep it right here. Much more coming
up on end Zone Radio.
Speaker 11 (01:55:29):
Bengals have it first out of the rounds forty five
yard line Borough shotgun bro to throw.
Speaker 13 (01:55:34):
He's a busy on them, big on them.
Speaker 12 (01:55:38):
There it is Miles Garrett sack number twenty three, the
new single season sack king, and the Browns defense mobs
their man at the Cincinnati forty five yard line.
Speaker 2 (01:56:00):
That's the Browns Radio network, and indeed, Miles Garrett now
holds a single season record for sacks twenty three sacks
on the season. And meanwhile, right now Shdor Sanders trying
to lead the Browns to a comform behind win. They
trail the Bengals eighteen seventeen thirty one seconds ago, but
they got the ball into Bengals territory. All right, once again,
(01:56:21):
here we are a huge final Sunday in the huddle,
no huddle our here in the Fox Sports radio studios.
I love every second of that, all right, The big
game going on right now the Saints and the Falcons,
and the Falcons now have the ball and the lead
with three minutes to go, so sixteen to ten Falcons
(01:56:43):
lead the Saints. If the Falcons win, the Carolina Panthers
will be the champions of the NFC South. So the
Saints have three timeouts three minutes to go. Meanwhile, the Texans,
they are trying to hang on against a very determined
Colts team today, a twenty nine to twenty seven, big
wit game for the Texans. If they win, even with
(01:57:05):
Jacksonville clinching the AFC South today with a dominating victory
over the Titans, the Texans would get the five seed
with a victory today.
Speaker 1 (01:57:13):
If they lose and.
Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
The Chargers mailing in their game against the Broncos lose,
then the Bills could jump from a seven to a
five seed. The lowest the Texans could be would be
the six set. We'll keep our eye on that game.
So still a couple of things going on right now
in these games, on right now, even.
Speaker 1 (01:57:32):
Watching Shador right now trying to lead these guys to
a win right here. I remember when people thought Shador
wasn't even gonna make the Browns roster and training camp.
Here he is possibly leading in four wins this year.
I know Flackele got the one against the Green Bay
Packers earlier this year, Shador's got the other ones and
got a chance right head to just get his team
in phil goal range and get out of here with
(01:57:54):
a dub and beat these Bengals in Joe Burrow with
all this offense, I should play all right there, and
that was a great pass. I need a better effort
from the receiver right there. Oh is that bond he has?
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
So we got nineteen seconds to go a third and
eight coming up. They're in a long range field goal range. No,
I just need to never touch his.
Speaker 1 (01:58:17):
Kid right here. He's got a good way. He had
to go around the defender right there. So all right,
by the way, the Colts are. The Colts are battling
Riley Leonard looks good. And by the way, throughout this game,
Philip River has been a cheerleader. He didn't suit up
for this game.
Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
Uh, he has put in his three games and if
you're just tuning in, yeah, Philip Rivers. All of a sudden,
his re emergence has got people talking about maybe some
interviews to be a head coach in the National Football League.
Speaker 1 (01:58:44):
Why not? He's been a high school coach. I guess
he's qualified to be an NFL head coach. All right?
Watching the Falcons right downcations of Jeff Saturday, by the way,
exactly well how that work out?
Speaker 6 (01:58:53):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:58:54):
He still engineered the biggest collapse one game collapse in
the history of the National Football League. No one will
ever top that record. What was it, thirty three down?
They were up thirty three in that game? They lost
all time record. All right, so the Falcons right now again,
it's so weird. You have two got teams, you know,
and and the Falcons have been playing good football the Saints.
Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
That's the irony. These two teams actually been playing better.
And the two teams what they're playing better certainly than Tampa wise.
Speaker 8 (01:59:22):
How mad would you be if you're a Falcons fan?
Though they suck most of the year, but then once
they're a limited from the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:59:29):
Well, think about this.
Speaker 2 (01:59:30):
If the Falcons win this game, it's actually technically a
three way tie for the division title.
Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
They just lose on the tie break.
Speaker 2 (01:59:36):
All right, here we go the Browns right now, with
three seconds to go, it's a forty nine yard field goal,
a tip and it looks good. It is, it's good,
all right, there's a flag.
Speaker 1 (01:59:48):
The flag is.
Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
There're jumping up and down and what's the flag? What
is the flag? And they're stopping the jump up and
down all right? Right now, the officials are talking. So
the cake was good. Would give the Browns a twenty
to eighteen victory.
Speaker 1 (02:00:06):
Joe Burrow had to head who had that? Wow, I
don't care. They're congratulating. It looks like it's against the Bengals.
Speaker 2 (02:00:16):
So Miles Garrett gets the record in the game that
the Browns actually win. Final score, Browns win a twenty
to eighteen And on a day where Miles Garrett sets
a record, they're carrying the kicker off the field well now.
Speaker 1 (02:00:29):
Because they already cared Miles Garrett. He too big man. Goodness,
gracis I already carried you once? Brother? We can't lift
your big ass up again. Wow. So there you go
right there?
Speaker 2 (02:00:37):
All right, we got some big games coming up this afternoon.
Still an exciting finish for the Falcons and the Saints.
Speaker 1 (02:00:43):
Keep it right here. This is end Zone Radio Huddle hour, alright,
rolling down the stretch for us here on this final
Sunday of the NFL regular season end Zone radio or
in the Fox Sports radio studios.
Speaker 2 (02:00:58):
Let's get you updated here on a couple of things.
Colts just retook the lead thirty to twenty nine over
the Texans. What does this mean again, plenty of time
for the Texans right now.
Speaker 1 (02:01:09):
CJ. Straut is not in the game. What if the.
Speaker 2 (02:01:13):
Texans were to lose, they would drop out of the
five seed down to a sixth seed. That's assuming the
Chargers loose to the Broncos today. But the big news
there is if the Bills were to beat the Jets
without Josh Allen, they could jump all the way from
a seven.
Speaker 1 (02:01:29):
To a five.
Speaker 2 (02:01:30):
Jacksonville has clinched the AFC South with their dominating victory
over the Titans today, so most likely the Jags are
locked into that three seed. Meanwhile, the Falcons got a
field goal, so the Saints are down two scores in
a minute to.
Speaker 1 (02:01:44):
Go, too little, too late.
Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
They're at the Atlanta sixteen yard line though right now,
so let's keep an eye on this shuck going to
the end zone and it is a touchdown Saints.
Speaker 1 (02:01:54):
One handed too nice. That is a touchdown for the Saints.
So now they are going to go for the extra point.
They'll be down to they we'll line up for an
on side kick. And again the way this works, the
Falcons win, Carolina is the champions of the NFC South.
If the Saints win or tie, the Saints would allow
(02:02:18):
Tampa Bay to be champions of the NFC South. So
Saints scored. Look at that one hand by Rady that
he did that least Brady right, he never even uses
his other hand. He did that for show, right, Sometimes
you got to do it for show, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
So this is a big extra point right now, and
the extra point is good. So nineteen seventeen Falcons lead
the Saints. We got a minute eleven to go, and
we'll see how it works out for the Saints. Says
they will line up for an on side kick.
Speaker 1 (02:02:49):
You know what he learned how to catch like that
in Michigan. I didn't know if you knew that. Yeah,
that's a Michigan. That's a Michigan alum. Right there, guy,
I'm just saying right there, that's Michigan type stuff right there.
Speaker 2 (02:03:00):
By the way, by the way, I want to I
want to give a shout out to the Packers today
so they lose to the Vikings sixteen to three, that
will be the seventh seed. They played their practice squad
the Packers today finish. Are you ready for this stat?
Net yards passing negative seven for the game? That was
for the entire game. The Green Bay Packers finished the
(02:03:22):
game with negative seven net yards passing playing a guy
I've never heard of, and so they absolutely mailed it in. Ironically,
with the win, the Vikings only finished out what a
half game behind the Packers? Yeah, nine seven, one to
nine and eight, you know, close but not good enough.
Speaker 1 (02:03:42):
That's sorry. They'll they'll recalibrate. I think they will calibrate.
Speaker 2 (02:03:47):
So negative seven net yards passing that means, of course,
with the Vikings winning, if the Lions lose today, the
Lions will finish alone in dead last in the NFC
North at eight and I think they do anyway, just
because the Vikings are going to have a what I'm
saying alones alone that's still alone. Well but no, and
(02:04:07):
I understand what they would be tied.
Speaker 1 (02:04:10):
I'm talking about by themselves with the only losing record
in that division at eight and nine.
Speaker 2 (02:04:16):
Here we go, we got an on side kick. This
is it last chance for Tampa Bay. They are rooting
like heck that the Saints can pull off this on
side kick and give themselves a chance to get into
field goal range to beat the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (02:04:32):
This is it, and the onsets.
Speaker 2 (02:04:34):
On some big bouncer and the Falcons have recovered. The
Saints have no timeouts, and that is it. The Falcons
will beat the Saints and the Carolina Passes are the
champions of the NFC south by by Baker Mayfield, So
Carolina most likely if the Rams win today and the
(02:04:58):
Rams are playing starters today home against the card and
jump to the five seed and be on the road
against Carolina. But what do you think of that matchup.
Speaker 1 (02:05:09):
Rams at Carolina in the wildcard round. That's a tough
one for sure. Yeah, that's not an easy I wouldn't pick,
but it's going to be and they should be exactly
like they should be. Just shout out, man, congrats. You
guys know what I feel about. I know his dad, man,
Like I talked to his dad, his family. I love
(02:05:29):
that kid. Shout out to Bryce freaking young man for
the for the the stuff he's taken, and everybody want
to write him off and get rid of him. They
win that division, which you and I predicted that they would.
You and I both picked him to win the division
and be and get into the playoffs. Did you? I
think maybe you had him as a wildcard, and you
might know as a wild card, had him in a playoff.
I had him in the play had him in a playoffs.
But here here's the things. Congratulations to my guy, Bryce Young.
Speaker 2 (02:05:53):
You do understand there's a lot of people screaming at
the radio right now saying, are you really going to
give him credit for an eight to nine?
Speaker 1 (02:06:00):
Don't he's got care and you think got care? Well,
you're going to answer your critics right now eight and nine. Yeah,
I'm talking with my heart radio. I've always been real
over I'm talking about I know the kid, I love
the kid, I know his family. I'm happy for him.
I'm allowed to be happy for him. There's everybody in
here that's got people that they're happy for in sports.
(02:06:21):
I'm happy for the kid. And at the end of
the day, it says I'm playing NFC South champions.
Speaker 7 (02:06:26):
Complaining about the NFC South being a down conference is
like complaining that a snail is is slimy. Yes, you've
been doing this long enough like, I'm not going to
take that away from the night.
Speaker 8 (02:06:37):
A question, how is it possible for the Fox broadcast
cameras to find so many people at this game wearing
Panthers jerseys?
Speaker 1 (02:06:48):
Because, man, they that's called called pre production. Yeah, that's
that's called that's called that's called a product spotted out
for the entire game. What do you like? Did you
get lost? Nah? No, Well there's a lot of you
gotta you gotta know the proximity of Atlanta and North Carolina.
(02:07:09):
It's not Atlanta and Charlotte. It's not it's not a
long drive. It's not a long drive. It all from
Atlanta to Charlotte. Man, there are a lot of North
Carolina people that live in Georgia that live in at
Atlanta area. Atlanta's like la, it's a it's a melting pot. No,
you got a lot of time in Atlanta many times. Yeah,
that is a big city. It's a huge city. Traffic
that Oh, Alanta, I've done Atlanta traffic. I've done traffic.
(02:07:33):
I will never do that again. No, probably it'll be
back there next year for well, no, later this year.
Later this year. I'll be different than ABJ in August.
Speaker 2 (02:07:39):
Okay, So the Texans right now, minute forty two to go.
Actually we're now inside a minute to go, and they
are definitely in field goal range. If the Texans win
this game, they will be locked into the five seed.
Now that would leave again there's still a question about
the six and seven seed. So the Chargers are mailing
(02:08:02):
in their game against Denver right now, they're the sixth seed.
But if they lose and the Bills win, the Bills
are the sixth seed and the Chargers fall to the
seventh seed. So if you're the Chargers right now, if
you're Jim Harbaugh, and by the way, I'm not, I
think he's doing the right thing, especially with his quarterback
(02:08:24):
Justin Herbert trying to get healthy for this postseason run.
But doesn't matter whether you're the seventh seed on the
road against New England or the sixth seed on the
road against Jacksonville. Honestly, I don't think it's a lot
of difference between those two.
Speaker 1 (02:08:39):
I was gonna throw this question at you guys, please
jump get in on it. Who do you trust more
on the road no matter where they go? Is my question.
The Chargers are Buffalo Buffalo, no matter where they go.
Doesn't matter the Chargers. Chargers haven't shown anything on the
road Buffalo.
Speaker 8 (02:08:58):
Because Buffalo has to play in the snow at home,
like they're at least used to that. The Chargers playing a.
Speaker 1 (02:09:04):
Trust Chargers defense though more than Buffalo's. The Chargers defense defense.
Chargers defense last year was the number one scoring defense
in the league. They've been all over the map this year.
They got run out of the base. They got run
out of their own building by the commander. There's still
the topson defense though it doesn't matter about one game.
Yes they are, look it up, there's the test. Tells
me that no time is good.
Speaker 2 (02:09:28):
The Texans with twelve seconds to go have taking a
thirty two to thirty lead over the Colts, so that
it looks like the Texans will indeed end up as
the number five seed in the AFC. And then we
got the Chargers and Bills. By the way, Chargers fifth
ring defense, guys, stop it, okay, I'm talking to I defense.
They haven't been anywhere near the defense they were a
(02:09:50):
year ago.
Speaker 1 (02:09:51):
Scoring wise, maybe, but the fifth ring defense in the
league last year. Test last year they were the number
one scoring defense. This year they're the number five. Sorry,
did you watch the beginning of that game against the Texans? YEP,
I did. I'm not down in their secondary.
Speaker 8 (02:10:07):
I think just overall as a team, I don't trust
the Chargers having like a makeshift offensive line at this
time of year.
Speaker 1 (02:10:16):
All right, I'd go opposite. I just I just know
they had a big game against the Texans and they
were just completely I don't know what happened. You gave
up two bombs right out of the box, and we
did just see a great defense like Philly just shut
down and bang up the bills, which Josh Allen is
beat up right now. That's another thing to guys. He
(02:10:37):
didn't get a week the rest. I think that's why
they're probably gonna send him today. He didn't get a bye.
But ankles, leg, those things don't healed, and they hurt
a little more in the cold. I would take. Okay,
So how about this, let me flip my question around.
Would you trust McDermott coaching his team on the road
over Harball coaching his team on the US Jim Harbaugh. Yes, Yes,
(02:10:59):
you take mcd over Harball because he's done it on
the NFL level. Look, I mean you're going back with
Jim Harbor with the forty nine ers. You going back, No,
might I just say anything about Harbor in the forty
nine ers. That's not I didn't say anything. Way, well,
I saw Jim Harbaugh last year on the road in
the playoffs. Ho did that look? All right? That was
pretty ugly? I see now I got to have an
Eagles T shirt with a Charger's hat. Okay, I'll got
(02:11:19):
my outfit from this alight.
Speaker 2 (02:11:20):
So coming up on the other side, we, by the way,
we still have our Power Fight coming up, our update
of the Power five later on.
Speaker 1 (02:11:27):
In this hour. On the other side, we're gonna start
breaking it down.
Speaker 2 (02:11:30):
We have a pretty clear playoff picture now on the
AFC side, but there's still lots up the grabs on
the NFC side.
Speaker 1 (02:11:37):
We'll try to explain it all for you. This is
end Zone Radio. Five seconds to go. First down Colts
at their twenty five lettered over the liddle. He goes
to Josh Dallas, takes it across the thirty ladders back
to Pittman. Pittman throws it back to Leonard.
Speaker 6 (02:11:52):
The letter is.
Speaker 1 (02:11:52):
Gonna be sacked. Deep gets rid of the ball. Togy
I picks it up. Togi I crossed the five.
Speaker 12 (02:11:58):
Togy I into the side, touched down Tommy Togy to
end the game, and the Texans went there twelve.
Speaker 1 (02:12:07):
What a way to finish the season. Texans Radio Network
cover the spread with that last second Bubba for a touchdown.
You can't make this stuff up, man, I mean again,
you can't make this stuff up.
Speaker 6 (02:12:20):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:12:21):
I understand that a huge amount of our audience bets
on the NFL, maybe a little bit, maybe a lot.
I don't know how you do it.
Speaker 2 (02:12:32):
I mean seriously, you're sitting there and you decide we're
gonna take the Colts as a dog. They're winning outright
most of the game. They're gonna end up losing by
two points.
Speaker 1 (02:12:42):
Okay, okay, we can take that. We can take that.
And then they're doing like a lateral play at the
end of the game. They fumbled the ball and the
Texans cover their spread. I don't know how you do it.
I really don't. I'm sorry. And the lineman picks it
up there right, he could have just fallen on it.
He big boys that thing up. Oh and it was
hauling ass. He was hauling us, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:13:04):
So here's where we stand right now. Once again, we're
in the Fox Sports radio studios. All right, here's what
we know in the AFC. So the Broncos if they
beat the Chargers, and Jim Harbaugh has made it clear
he's sitting everybody, they're mailing this one in. If the
Broncos win today, they're the one seed.
Speaker 1 (02:13:23):
That means that New England would be the two seed
if if they win today. Now New England's playing the
Miami Dolphins. Let me stop right. There are the Dolphins
gonna show up for that game today in New England?
Speaker 6 (02:13:36):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (02:13:36):
They will. I don't know. No, I'm not saying they're
gonna win, but I do think they're gonna show up.
They're not mailing this thing in at all. There's too
many guys on this roster that needs to put out.
Take guy, look what we saw today. We saw teams.
We saw teams show up. The Colts, Look what the
Giants did. You gotta play and put out taate because
you don't know what's happening next year. You don't know
what's going on, especially in Miami. They need a gym, right,
(02:13:57):
they need a general manager? Correct? Okay, did the general
manager's gonna want to look at he's gonna want to
look at some tape of some guys that might be
on the fringe. I understand. I'm they're gonna show up.
I'm not saying they're gonna win this game, but I
guarantee you they're not gonna roll over all right. So,
if things go as expected, and there's always subject to change,
(02:14:18):
Broncos to be the one seed, New England to be
the two seed, Jacksonville the three seed, and the winner
of tonight's game between the Steelers and the Ravens is
the four seed.
Speaker 2 (02:14:29):
The Texans, with their win today have locked in the
five seed. That's done Chargers and Bills. Chargers on the
road against Denver, Bill's hosting the Jets. If the Bills win,
Chargers lose, the Bills will be the sixth seed. Chargers
become the seventh seed. That's where we stand on the
AFC side, yep. On the NFC side right now, Seahawks
(02:14:50):
are the one seed that's a guaranteed.
Speaker 1 (02:14:52):
Bears. Lions where's Chris? Where is he?
Speaker 7 (02:14:56):
Are the Lions showing up today? I believe so. I
haven't seen anything that says they're resting anyone again, though no.
Pinna Sewel is probably going to be really tough for them.
I am looking up right now, let's see if everyone.
Speaker 1 (02:15:07):
Is playing.
Speaker 7 (02:15:10):
Lions knocktact. No, it looks like no no word yet. Okay,
but it's a Dan Campbell team I'm expecting.
Speaker 1 (02:15:17):
All right.
Speaker 2 (02:15:17):
So the Bears win today, they're the two seed. Now
they're tied with the Eagles record wise. Right now, the
Eagles are the three seed. They will host the Commanders. Wow,
what a come down season was for the Commanders.
Speaker 1 (02:15:29):
I lost that quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:15:30):
All right, So again, we'll assume the Bears and Eagles win.
Bears would be the two seed, Eagles of the three seed,
and the Panthers are now the four seed. If the
Rams beat the Cardinals at home, they will be the
five seed. The forty nine Ers will be the six,
and the Packers are locked in at number seven.
Speaker 1 (02:15:48):
How can my Eagles get to the two though? They
need the Bears to lout it. So they need the
Bears to lose today, all right, all right, so let's
go Lions. Let's go. That's why I'm asking about the Lions.
They to me are the X fact. Let's let's go. Line.
I'm lying. I'm a line scar for something. Yeah, I
got some blue silver at the house. I'll put it
(02:16:09):
on as soon as I get home. All right, let's
go lines, because I need my Eagles to get to
the two Hey wait, wait, wait, remember what happened a
few years ago when the Lions won that last game
and knocked out the Packers. Am I right about that? Chris?
Remember that feel good for now?
Speaker 2 (02:16:24):
Is the feel good for Daniel cam And they knocked
out the Packers, and maybe they can knock the Bears
out of the two seed?
Speaker 1 (02:16:32):
Why not? Why not? And let and let Vj's Eagles
move up to the two seed? Right there? We go? Okay,
so that's what we're talking about. We go.
Speaker 2 (02:16:40):
I think that most people would agree the two seed,
whether it's the Eagles of the Bears, are getting a
break hosting the Packers.
Speaker 1 (02:16:47):
Did you guys just see that stat? And I didn't
know that. It just popped up on the screen. Second
most wins is of coach in his first five years
in NFL history, behind George Sea for Matt Lafleur. No,
the guy that's coaching my Eagles right now, I didn't
know that's that.
Speaker 2 (02:17:03):
By the way, Well, first of all, I want to
understand this. There's a gentleman that we have acknowledge is
our brilliant producer on many of occasions for good reason.
Speaker 6 (02:17:16):
Bo.
Speaker 1 (02:17:16):
How anxious are you, hello, Bo, for an Eagle first
round exit in the playoffs? Do you think if the Eagles,
if the Eagles, let's say the Eagles play right now,
it looks like the forty nine ers. Okay, assuming the
Rams win today and assuming the Bears beat the Lions today.
Speaker 2 (02:17:37):
A lot of assumptions still, but let's say it's the
forty nine ers at the Eagles. You know, we for
much of this year until we I guess we need
to pause on the forty nine ers for a second here.
But if the Eagles were to lose that game, do
you think there's any way the Eagles would fire Nick Sirianni.
Speaker 8 (02:17:55):
No, no, no, no, from a Super Bowl win. No,
have to fire Kevin Patula. That has to be done,
all right.
Speaker 1 (02:18:03):
That is my one year I agree with that.
Speaker 8 (02:18:06):
That is my fear with the Eagles winning a playoff
game is that it will be justification for Sirianni to say, like, no, look,
you know, I know it was rough, but we won
a playoff game. It's his first year on the job.
Speaker 1 (02:18:15):
Blah. Blah blah.
Speaker 8 (02:18:16):
It's very clear that he has no clue what he's doing,
and Sirianni getting more involved in the offense has not
helped at all.
Speaker 1 (02:18:22):
Guys, Uh, Shane steikin so the costs who should be.
Speaker 2 (02:18:26):
The finished the season on a seven game losing straight.
They went from eight and to to eight and nine,
and that's tough. Yeah, Shane Steigen was in that conversation
early on. We were talking Daniel Jones, MVP, Shane Steike
and coach of the Year, the whole shebang eight and nine.
(02:18:47):
Shane Steiken surviving.
Speaker 1 (02:18:48):
Probably should fire him. Here, here's the thing, though your
point earlier was was dead on. If you do, then
this is a new ownership thing. Correct. If you're telling
me you're firing him because he lost his last he
lost his quarterback, you guys know how I feel about this.
When a team loses their quarterback, to me, that gives
(02:19:09):
a little leadway to the.
Speaker 2 (02:19:10):
Coach you don't have your guy. Oh, I'm not saying
it's right by any stretch. I think Shane Steichen is
a really good coach. And I'm a little partial because
I got to know Shane a little bit back in
the Sandy.
Speaker 1 (02:19:22):
Charge it together. He could.
Speaker 8 (02:19:25):
I think Ballard is getting fired. And if you're firing Ballard,
you may as well just fire the head coach and
have a completely clean slate.
Speaker 1 (02:19:31):
All right, guys, okay, you are resetting that.
Speaker 6 (02:19:34):
All right?
Speaker 1 (02:19:34):
I want predictions right now. Do give me some pink
slips tomorrow. Guys. Is Stefansky gone gone? I think he
saved his job today?
Speaker 6 (02:19:44):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:19:45):
Did you? Then you would have to admit that Shador
help save his job. I don't think has been bad
enough to Okay, make one decision. The one thing we
do know is Pete Carroll will be fired. Pete Carroll's fired. Obviously.
Speaker 2 (02:20:02):
We have coaching vacancies with the Titans and the Giants already.
Come on, guys, we know there's gonna be as gonna
be six to seven jobs available.
Speaker 1 (02:20:14):
Guys, he's six, all right, we need three more Cardinals.
I'll tell Cardinals out there. Gannon's probably gone. That's stupid, loser,
loser of tonight's game done, you're talking about You think
they're gonna fire John You you just said new coach.
(02:20:35):
Teams need new coaches. The loser tonight's game is gonna
need an about Aaron Glen. Is he a one and done,
he stays. I think I think he's safe too. But
sometimes in his coaching carousel, if a name that we're
not thinking about are not mentioned, pops up tomorrow morning
on Black Monday, he and if he wants that job,
(02:20:59):
and thinks I and I can get we're gonna get
a quarterback. See the thing is, they got it, they
need a quarterback. I think that. I think that name
tomorrow is Shane Steikeen. So Shane Steigen's gonna get fights.
I think that is brutal. He'll be interviewed by Windy. Absolutely,
He'll be interviewed by Wednesday or Thursday by another team,
no doubt. And there will be a team that will
(02:21:20):
probably this borderline coach to to to talk to him.
How about this, I think if you're the New York Giants,
if you.
Speaker 2 (02:21:28):
Well, first of all, you got you got the Titans
with the young quarterback, and you have the Giants with
the young quarterback.
Speaker 8 (02:21:33):
Right, I think if Sikan though, like you have the
Anthony richards thing Richardson thing hanging over him too, he's done.
Speaker 1 (02:21:40):
Yeah, that was that him though he was that front
office and was that that was Anthony richards He was
trying to somehow was offense for Anthony he was There
is no offense. Many Richardson was never ready, but he
started seven or eight college games. I'm gonna give you
something else.
Speaker 8 (02:21:59):
Can I give you, guys, some prize name that isn't
going to get fired tomorrow because he's coaching in the playoffs.
What about Matt Lafleur.
Speaker 1 (02:22:05):
No chance, Matt Lafleur. Matt Lafleur. You have to tell
me why. You have to you have to tell me why.
Speaker 8 (02:22:12):
It's it's been a month since Jordan Love last played
a full game. They haven't looked good. I mean, Parsons
got hurt. I understand that. Like have the Packers lived
up here?
Speaker 1 (02:22:21):
I don't think parsons injuries had an impact, But have
the Packers lived up to expectations at all? I don't know.
I think the thing that will like that I hear,
just the Steelers, aren't you?
Speaker 7 (02:22:31):
I do think Lafleur is like right now, looking across
the coaches in the NFC North.
Speaker 1 (02:22:35):
The the odd man out.
Speaker 7 (02:22:37):
The only reason I can't join Bow, I think, is
just because it's who the Packers are, like that organization,
how it is arranged like, I don't think they'll need your.
Speaker 1 (02:22:44):
Why fire Matt? He would literally buy the first hire
by any team. I got another name for you, guys,
And I think that's why he started a certain quarterback today. O'Connell. No,
he's he's as safe as anyone can be. I don't see.
I don't buy that. I think the reason why he
(02:23:05):
let me let me let me explain. I think the
reason why he throws JJ back out. And I thought
JJ should have played today. So I'm not saying he
shouldn't have played, but I think part.
Speaker 4 (02:23:13):
Of that is.
Speaker 1 (02:23:15):
If if I got if, I got a question about
this kid. Now I'm the ownership, and I've been saying,
why are we looking at you? What success have you?
We thrown his success in the postseason around on everything
we talk about here, but we never say it about O'Connell.
We never put it on because he is cons my
best offensive minds of the league. And by the way,
what is it done since he's been a head coach,
(02:23:36):
what has it gotten him?
Speaker 6 (02:23:37):
Well?
Speaker 2 (02:23:37):
Again, he has no playoff wins, but I can go
through a long list of coaches that don't have playoff
wins that are still floating in this league.
Speaker 1 (02:23:45):
I mean, but we questioned him. We questioned him, why
is why is Dan Campbell safe? Because he's Dan Campbell
and they have a long and they lost and they
just lost both their courts and they just lost. He
has been to one playoff and he lost big.
Speaker 7 (02:23:59):
He has He is on track to be the winningest
Detroit Lions head coach in history and just broke a
thirty years still on playoff wins to be for a while,
he's gonna get another. The fact that, like it, misses
one playoff year and suddenly he's not safe. No, no,
he'll say this on o'con so the NFC Championship game
one year blows it.
Speaker 1 (02:24:20):
I can see on O'Connell.
Speaker 7 (02:24:22):
On O'Connell, I feel like, you know what, this is
the only thing that would make O'Connell gone in my mind.
If Brian Flores isn't back as a defensive course is
part of it?
Speaker 1 (02:24:32):
The other name too. Before we get to my shamee,
we're talking about styke it because that's how it's all started.
Speaker 9 (02:24:36):
If he's let go Tampa Bay, yeah he should, but
I don't think no, no, but now, because.
Speaker 1 (02:24:42):
Like I said, unless there's a name out there, like
Tom Bowles is safe now unless a name pops up
tomorrow afternoon and we're like, oh my god, who fired who?
But he's available now.
Speaker 8 (02:24:53):
The reporting around Tampa Bay has been that they don't
want to pay another coach while they're paying bulls.
Speaker 1 (02:24:57):
Yeah, I agree with that. That's easy to say until
a name comes available. Shanstein is looking at Jackson Dart
or he's looking at cam Ward. I think I think American, Yeah,
you're cool with days to lunge until Beyonce single.
Speaker 4 (02:25:09):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (02:25:09):
I think the job Kevin O'Connell did this year getting
the Vikings to a winning record is fantastic. But I
think the job that Todd Bowles has done keeping that
team out of the playoffs, like there's no reason for
him to continue being employed.
Speaker 1 (02:25:20):
It's highlighted. No one's who's a Todd Bowles fan? Anybody
second most wins in there, you know, thinking about bad.
Speaker 7 (02:25:29):
Ownership, we didn't. We don't really talk about the Glazers
like very much. So like the pro but they have
don't believe success. Yeah, but that is like against that,
that is like somehow they've a blind Yeah, a blind
squirrel can find an acorn.
Speaker 1 (02:25:42):
All right, let's find out what's trendy right now. You
can show out all the cliches out there. But what
a day?
Speaker 10 (02:25:52):
What a day?
Speaker 2 (02:25:54):
Normally we would have like three games, maybe, yes, you
had seven games kicking off.
Speaker 3 (02:25:58):
No, it's It definitely threw me off. I was unaware
that I was gonna have to be, you know.
Speaker 10 (02:26:03):
The entire time watching seven games.
Speaker 3 (02:26:05):
I like when we have to watch ten games in
the morning and then I only have to pay attention
to two or.
Speaker 10 (02:26:09):
Three, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (02:26:10):
I like that balance.
Speaker 10 (02:26:12):
I don't like the half and half. It's too much
the entire time.
Speaker 1 (02:26:15):
But here we are.
Speaker 3 (02:26:16):
Josh Allen played one snap and so I guess history continues.
Speaker 10 (02:26:19):
That's stupid. He is already out.
Speaker 3 (02:26:21):
Mitch Trubisky has thrown a touchdown pass, so the Bills
are up on the Jets six zero, pending the extra point.
Speaker 10 (02:26:26):
It's still early in the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (02:26:27):
It's that streak of consecutive games.
Speaker 10 (02:26:29):
But come on, you gotta pay.
Speaker 1 (02:26:34):
That's why they're going to pay for it in the
playoffs by doing something stupid like that.
Speaker 3 (02:26:37):
And he's not the only one to do it. But
it's just like, just go out and at least play
a quarter or something.
Speaker 1 (02:26:47):
No more overrated record in sports and consecutive games I
agree with yeah, but I had a lot of bad years.
Speaker 3 (02:27:00):
You're right in sports are just dumb when you do
it like this, All right, Lions, Bears, all these other games, actually,
guys are just scoreless. The Rams did get a forced
to fumble off Jacoby Brissett and got a field goal
out of it, so they have the lead against the Cardinals.
Speaker 10 (02:27:14):
It's three zero. Early in the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (02:27:16):
The Patriots Romandre Stevenson took off for like sixty yards.
Then Treveon Henderson got it in, so the Patriots up
on the Dolphins, also early seven zero.
Speaker 10 (02:27:25):
The games that wrapped up well.
Speaker 3 (02:27:26):
The Jaguars finished the regular season winning eight in a row,
winning the AFC South with the number one seed still
alive after crushing the Titans forty one to seven, and
then Cam Little has hit a sixty seven yard field
goal before the half. The Falcons held on nineteen to
seventeen against the Saints, so the Panthers have won the
division for the first time since twenty fifteen, earning their
first playoff berth since twenty seventeen.
Speaker 10 (02:27:47):
The Texans got.
Speaker 3 (02:27:48):
A scoop and score in the final seconds to get
a thirty eight to thirty win over the Colts. The
Browns walked it off with the field goal to defeat
the Bengals twenty to eighteen, and Miles Garrett did break
the all time well the season record twenty three on
the year is what he ended with. The Giants outscored
the Cowboys thirty four to seventeen. With that New York win,
the Raiders are going to have the number one pick
in the upcoming draft, and the Vikings beat the Packers
(02:28:10):
sixteen to three. In men's college hoops, Yukon has one
ten in a row. They outscored Marqutte seventy three to
fifty seven. In the NBA, the Pistons just beat the
Calves one fourteen to one ten. It was Detroit's first
win in Cleveland since twenty twenty. Right now, early in
the third quarter, the Magic are up on the Pacers
seventy five to sixty eight, and almost halftime in Brooklyn
(02:28:31):
where the Nets lead the Nuggets fifty nine to forty eight.
Back to you guys, all right, MONSI great jobs.
Speaker 2 (02:28:38):
Back at chall wait to kick off our first show
of twenty twenty six. We're going at Fox Sports Radio studios.

get off the air.
Speaker 1 (02:29:02):
All right, it is.
Speaker 2 (02:29:02):
That time exposed the power five. All right, so updating
after the morning games. Here is my current number five.
My current number five the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
I gotta have them still in the top five. They
(02:29:24):
haven't a little look great all season long, but they
seem to be getting a little bit closer, so I'm
gonna I'm gonna ease my way in. Was tough for
the out of the Eagles as my current number five, my.
Speaker 1 (02:29:37):
Number five team, man, I'm gonna give it to the
New England Patriots. Man, they've had a great year. They're
gonna end up with Coach of the Year. I know
there's this lad push for Drake may as MVP. I
just think that they're just trying to stat pad to
get it for him and I hate when teams do that.
Just let it be organic. When you put on eighteen
weeks of tape, it's Matthew Stafford. But I do like
this team. We'll see who they get matched up with.
(02:29:58):
Just not sure that they're the team that can just
run through the playoffs just because they have home field advantage.
I feel like some veteran defensive coordinator is gonna have
some stuff that Drake may has never seen before and
mix him up a little bit, and can Digs be
the guy that they need to go get the ball
down the field for them and make big plays in
the postseason. But I'll sit with them at number five,
number four for me. Seattle Seahawks, Man, I really do
(02:30:21):
love this defense. I still feel how I phil about
Sam Darnold, but everything else works. The two headed running
back Zach Sharbonay, the receivers with with it, with Smith
and Jigba. This team is legit. But when you watch
this defense, they are physical, physical like they play what
I call to the echo of the whistle. They don't
play to the whistle. They play to the last echo
(02:30:43):
of the whistle. And that's normally a team that likes
to punch you in the mouth. They're gonna punch somebody
in the mouth. It's got to go through there in
the NFC. Give me them at number four. You got yeah,
you're taking Zach Sharbondah and going too. I spit on
you two that number four on me. I gotta know
that's what you're doing, my guy.
Speaker 2 (02:30:59):
My number four now the Denver Broncos. Actually drop them
a spot again.
Speaker 1 (02:31:04):
All season long, the Broncos, they're just one of those
teams that just a record looks good, but something not
quite right.
Speaker 2 (02:31:11):
But they're finding ways to win. So I got them
at number four. But my number three team crack of
my top five for the first time this year. Jacksonville Jaguars.
It's the eyeball test man. The Jags are legit. Trevor
Lawrence is on fire right now. Liam Cohen has done
a phenomenal job. So I'm jumping Jacksonville all the way
to number three.
Speaker 1 (02:31:32):
It might power five. My number three team is the
team that you think you would put your thousand dollars
on right now and to win the Super Bowl, and
that is the La Rams. Monday night did look a
little weird to me. They were number two last week.
I only dropped them down a spot, but they're still
a formidable team once again. Defense and running game travels.
Guys in a defense and running game will travel. Special
(02:31:52):
teams that thought about you last week, bok Can. We
talked about that, but Jared Vers had the block and
then to pick up scoop and score on the field.
Goal doesn't fix their SEC teams woes, but it does
show that they can make plays those special teams a
decade counter the bad plays. They should be okay number
two for me, there were number three. I moved them
up a spot this week. Give me the Jacksonville Jaguars.
(02:32:13):
All about the tape when you put the tape on
this team, their physical little defense. Go back through their
draft over the last three or four years. Guys, they've
been drafted high, they've been drafted. They've been hitting on
all these draft picks. And now Trevor Lawrence looks like
the generational talent being compared to John Elway coming out
of high school that we kept hearing about and that
we saw in Cleveland beat Nick Saban head up and
won them national championship. Also be Ohio State also there
(02:32:36):
too in the College Football Playoff two and then my
number one team. Oh yeah, why are you jumping over?
Oh my fault? I didn't know my bad. I didn't
know what did you give me anything? It's all about you, right,
is all? Yet? My two to one, then you can
get your number one.
Speaker 2 (02:32:51):
My number two team right now, I had to drop
them down a notch, and that would be the Los
Angeles Rams.
Speaker 1 (02:32:57):
I'm still a big believer in the Rams, but something
not quite right.
Speaker 2 (02:33:01):
Still gotta get some guys healthy into the postseason, so
we'll see.
Speaker 1 (02:33:05):
How they fared today. Should be the five seed, and
then my number one team, this is the Seattle Seahawks.
How am I gonna deny it? I mean that defense
is so dominant right now.
Speaker 2 (02:33:14):
You can hate, hate, hate on Sam Darnold, but the
running game compensates for that.
Speaker 1 (02:33:19):
They ran all over that forty nine or defense. I
don't see any true weakness on the Seahawks team. Seattle
is my current number one. I don't hate. I just
get football facts. You're the hater on this show. My
number one team is a defending Super Bowl champions who
went into Buffalo who everyone loves and loves Superman Josh
(02:33:40):
Allen and beat him up so bad that he had
to cowardly take one snap today to keep his little
stupid ass streak alive that nobody cares about. That's showing
you he got a little bit of me. Me guy
and him. Let me go get one snap so I
could keep my streak. No, not let me sit down
and get ready for the playoff. Will kind of make
(02:34:00):
it about me. But this Philly team, I love their defense.
I think the offense is gonna come around. They'll make
enough plays. They've been here, I've been saying all you long.
They're just a team that just needs to get there
because they've done this before. They've been to two of
the last three Super Bowls. They all play the Mahomes
both times, whooping his ass and one of them and
the Chiefs aren't even a factor anymore in the NFL
as far as this this era right now goes. Give
(02:34:21):
me the Philadelphia Eagles as the number one team to
finish off our Power five for twenty five season. All
over the map. Both of us, all right, are the
other the same teams, just different order. What's gonna happen
in tonight's matchup between the Steelers and the Ravens will
break it down. This is End Zone Radio.
Speaker 2 (02:34:42):
En Zone Radio, Carbon and Husky and the Fox Sports
radio studios, Dan Byer Kerry Rhodes getting ready.
Speaker 1 (02:34:51):
They got a lot of work this afternoon. Last week
they had two games, two today they seven seven games
that are going on right now, by the way, the
Pats leading the Dolphins seven nothing. Hey, quick note here.
So earlier Greg Olsen joined us and we were talking
(02:35:11):
about the Dolphins, and he seemed to indicate that quinn
Ewers could be in the mix. By the way, he's
off to vertigod started. The Patch has scored again, by
the way, thirteen to nothing. Pats. Do you believe as
a Dolphin fan that quinn Ewers is in the mix
for a chance to be the next starting quarterback of
this team? I ah, man, that's a tough question because
(02:35:38):
I don't. I still feel two it was bench because
once they got eliminated for the playoffs, let's let's just hey, buddy,
it hasn't been that kind of a year. Let's just
take a seat and let's get it, and let's get
a look at the rook Let's get a look at
the young pup. I just think I don't know if
he's done in Miami. It's gonna depend on what the
GM wants to do. Man that they hired, there's so
many questions for them. Does Mike McDaniel like him? Yes?
(02:36:04):
Do his teammate speak very highly of him? As we
a chain all these guys like, hey, man, look, this
guy's got a moxie, he's got a confidence. He throws
a hard like he throws a great ball to his Listen,
this guy was a play away from the National Championship
game in Texas, right in that Washington game. He there
play away from playing Michigan in that game. So it
isn't like he's a bum, he's a scrub. He's a
(02:36:24):
rookie that had to sit behind a quarterback and deal
with all these you know your coach is gonna get
fire type things. Do I think he's in the mix,
He tears your question. Yes he's He's in the mix,
But I don't know what that really means.
Speaker 2 (02:36:36):
All right, So earlier today we had the Packers put
up negative seven net yards passing in their loss of
the Vikings in a complete mailing game. Chargers could build
well be on their way. Trey Lance already has thrown
a pick. It's ten to nothing. Broncos right out of
the box, and so the Chargers said everybody today, So
let's let's not have any delusion about some kind of
(02:36:58):
Charger miracle today.
Speaker 1 (02:37:00):
The Broncos are going to win, and the Broncos are
going to be the number one overall seed in the
AF seed. By the way, the Lions have taken an
early three to nothing lead against the Bears. And again,
if the Bears lose and the Eagles win, the Eagles
would get the two seeds. So we'll keep our eye
on that. Bills up on the Jets seven nothing.
Speaker 2 (02:37:20):
Tramisky's in at quarterback after Josh Allen took a ceremonial
first snap to say he started the game. By the
way I understand this, the Bills win this game, that
goes on his record as a win. Why they have
one loss on quarterbacks and no other position in the
NFL to this day makes absolutely no sense to me.
Speaker 1 (02:37:38):
Zero sense. Also too, Jalen Hurts not in today. Also too,
I didn't know that Jalen Hurts is not not playing
a quarterback for the Eagle. So it just feels like
a lot of these teams are going to be settled
at where they could possibly be, whether it be the four,
the five, or the five or the six or seven,
Eagles should beat this Commanders team without no, they should,
Okay they should.
Speaker 2 (02:37:59):
Yeah, Well, I'm going to give you a game where
I guarantee you both starting quarterbacks will be in.
Speaker 1 (02:38:03):
That'll be tonight Ravens and Steelers.
Speaker 2 (02:38:05):
Yeah, the winner take all game, the Steelers at home.
Steelers obviously beat the Ravens in Baltimore earlier this year,
and it seems like in big game match ups between
Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh, more often than not, Mike
Tomlin comes out on top. So Aaron Rodgers against Lamar Jackson,
(02:38:26):
who's not one hundred percent, but he's definitely gonna be
out there for the Ravens tonight. So the Ravens are
three and a half point favorites on the road against
the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (02:38:36):
That is a big number. That is a big number.
Speaker 2 (02:38:39):
The Ravens are three and a half point favorites on
the road against the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (02:38:44):
Agains Vegas knows something. Give me the Ravens. I just
just give me. Are they gonna cover three and a half?
Are they gonna win going away? They win by four? Okay,
twenty to sixteen? Anyway, let's see twenty sixteen when Ravens going.
Speaker 2 (02:38:56):
Against the spread, Ravens three and a half point favorites
on the road against the steel You're taking.
Speaker 1 (02:39:00):
