Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I have to stop from the beginning.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Jonas Knocks, you thought you knew me, You didn't know
anything about me.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
He's crazier than it else. Wrapped that guy, Jonas Knocks,
you heard me.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
The Prince of Darkness is lighting up your speakers to
establish an alibi for the day. No live from the
Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's Jonas Knox yr Okay, I'll recordless.
Speaker 5 (00:50):
You know it's the ultimate double take in the world
of football. We'll get into that for you coming up
here in just a couple of moments from now, Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to us as
always on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on
hundreds of affiliates all across the country. If you're listening
to the podcast right now, we appreciate you doing so,
(01:11):
and we are going to take you here live up
until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific on this
two hour extravaganza as we get you set for playoff
football coming up later on. But we first have got
to talk about playoff football that has already taken place.
All right now, I want to be on the record
with something, and I want to be honest about something.
(01:34):
Years ago, we would have this in elementary school. I
still remember this. You would have to rent a book
each day, and so you rent a book and you
that was part of your SSR silence sustained reading or
whatever the hell they called it back then. Who knows,
that's probably an offensive term now, I don't know who cares.
(01:54):
Point is, you'd have to rent these books. You can
go pick whatever book you wanted, and usually I would
pick some sort of sports book, or I would pick
some sort of conspiracy theory book, lockness, monster, UFOs, abominable
snowman like Bigfoot, like oh, I mean anything you could
(02:19):
possibly I would, and I would because I just it
wasn't like I believed it. I just love the idea
that there was an alternate way to think about things
and just going and you know, it did send me
down a path, you know, just question everything, and so
by nature and whether that's when it started, I just
sort of question everything. If you tell me something, it's like, okay, sure,
(02:44):
I'd like to do my own investigating, and I'd like,
you know, just don't sell me something, let me look
into it a little bit. And I'm watching Indiana last night,
and I say all that to say this, and they
are so good and so dominant that I'm watching them
(03:04):
going it's got to be fake. It's gotta be ai.
There's no possible way that that program, who had been
so bad for so long is this dominant.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
There's no way.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
And I know they're favored in these games now, and listen,
I get it. They were favored against Alabama. They put
Alabama in a clown suit. It looked like what Alabama
used to do to other teams. They bamaed Bama on
a big stage. But okay, all right, now you get
(03:45):
Oregon Part two. They've seen them before, a little revenge.
They've been down this road. Oregon looked pretty good, defense
looked pretty good against Texas Tech.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
They shut them out. Here we go and they destroyon.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
And I'm watching it going, yeah, like it's improbable, Like
there's no there's no way that this is actually what
I'm seeing here, what you're telling me. I gotta look
into it a little bit. I gotta go rent a
UFO book. I gotta go rent a conspiracy theory. I
gotta see whether or not Mendoza is real. This is
(04:25):
a real are we living in a simulation. They're so
good you don't believe what you're seeing. It's like when
somebody shows you a video now and you go, oh, yeah,
that's gotta be AI.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
That's AI.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
That's vague, and you find out no, no, no, that's actually
a real video.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Oh wow.
Speaker 5 (04:44):
It's completely changed the way you trust things. It's completely
changed the way you view things. Indiana's performance last night
and what they've done the past couple of games has
completely changed the way I look at them to where
my assumption was, oh, this has got to be bs.
(05:06):
There's no way. Like you hear Fanana Mendoza talk and
you go, wait, what It's kind of like t Bow.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
But.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Way far past anything he did, because it's just it's
so genuine that there's no way it can be genuine.
Like I want to find out that for Nanda, Mendoza's
got like some you know, secret poker scheme going on
at school, Like I want to find out that, like
you know, he like he comes from like a family
(05:39):
of drug dealers, or he's on steroids, or he's betting
on these games, or he's like paying out money so
that these teams get annihilated by you know, thirty five
forty points, like I want to find all like, I
want all it because that would be more easy to digest,
It would be easier to understand what they're doing than
whatever's happening now because we don't see this. This doesn't exist.
(06:06):
It just doesn't happen like this. And then I find
myself looking at it, going, you know, maybe this is
just what the birth looks like of something. Maybe we
are at the embryotic stages of a dominant program.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
Again.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
They've still got to win another game, and they've got
to go on a run and all that stuff. But
I'm watching them, going, so, what's the like there's gotta
be like, I mean, is it steroids?
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Then I thought, man, what do I care? I've taken them,
who cares.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Then I'm think, well, maybe they're getting like illegal payments,
And then I realized, well, that's not illegal anymore. So No,
we're just watching the beginning stages of dominance, and it's
actually really cool to see. It's why I always tell
people part of what I love about the UFC is
the fact that we get to see an entire sport
(07:00):
from beginning, and we get to see it rise. I
can remember watching the first UFC, it's like fourteen bucks,
Like you could rent it on pay per view a
stormer it was fourteen dollars. And I remember watching it
with my brothers going, this is crazy, Like it's bare knuckle.
I mean, they're kicking each other in the face. You
could there were groin strikes, you could socker kick people
(07:22):
in the head. I'm like, there's this. And then to
see where it is all these years later, and you go, wow,
you got to see it from the embryotic stages all
the way to where it's at now, and they just
signed a multi billion dollar deal with Paramount, and it's
just really cool to watch that. And what we're seeing
(07:43):
with Indiana is kind of like that. From the standpoint
that normally we're told stories about when teams got great.
We were always told stories about the Packers, Oh man,
the Packers back in the day.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Oh boy.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
We were always told stories about the eighty five Bears.
People will tell you about the Celtics back in the sixties.
They won eight titles in a row and all this time,
and they would tell you about all this dominance that
was going on, and very rarely do you get to
see stuff from the beginning, and while they've got a
(08:17):
ways to go to even win one title, let alone two, three, four, five,
we could be sitting here watching the beginning stages of
a dominant program for a long time. The way they play,
they don't make a lot of mistakes, they're efficient. Their
(08:38):
coach just sits there and chills just watching them.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
They just just.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
Relaxed, totally calm, totally cool, totally collected. Their quarterback says
everything right like it feels like he's a salesman.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
He's not. And we're getting to watch it all in
real time. And so the.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
Initial part of me, the skeptic in me, the kid
who used to sit there in the library and rent
all the UFO books because I wanted to find out, Hey,
who saw Bigfoot's footprint in the sand? Hey, what was
that flying saucer? They said, listen, tell me about lockness,
tell me about NeSSI tell me this. That kid then
(09:22):
goes back over to the kid who watched UFC with
his brothers and then thinks to himself, no, man, this
is really cool. Like you're watching the beginning of something,
and you're watching the beginning of what could be a
legitimate dynasty. And while it's so hard to believe because
they've been so bad for so long. It's kind of
awesome to watch what can happen when everything lines up perfectly.
(09:46):
Everything is lined up perfectly for Indiana, and they have
dominated dominated programs who have been at the top way
longer than them, and it's so improbable.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
You just find yourself looking for explanations.
Speaker 5 (10:03):

(10:45):
two hour extravaganza here on FSR. But at a certain
point you just got to look around and realize it
was time. It was just time in the NFL. And

Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up,
we'll call it a little over ten minutes from now,
we are going to tell you how uh, while somebody's
getting buried for their team's performance, I'd like to say
thank you me personally, I'd like to say thank you
from the heart. That'll be yours here coming up a
(12:04):
little over ten minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio.
So there's been a report that's come out on what
went down in Baltimore when it comes.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
To the John Harbaugh firing.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
So Diana Rossini and Jeff Zuuribik of The Athletic did
a deep dive, actually a really good article on the
final days of John Harbaugh in Baltimore. And you know,
they go into all sorts of details and stuff like that.
But the one that's going to grab everybody's attention because
(12:41):
it paints owner Steve Bashatti in a bad light, is
this line from the article, which says, quote, Harbaugh was
fired by owner Steve Bashatti in a phone call while
the coach was driving from the team facility to his
Baltimore County home.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
And it was neither a resignation nor a mutual parting.
He was relieved of his duties.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
Now you're going to see that immediate reaction is Wow,
what a class act. Steve Bushatti. Wait to fire the
guy over the phone. He gave you eighteen years blah
blah blah blah blah. All fair, All right, understood all
of it.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Fair. Here's what else is fair. It was just time.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
We can get caught up in the details of the exit,
and we can get caught up in how it was
handled and all that.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
It was time and I got news for you.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
If John Harbaugh felt a certain kind of way about
Steve Bushatti, then he wouldn't have spoken to him two
days later, so that Steve Bushati could explain the reasons
behind his decision.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Like on the outside, we can look at that.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
And go, wow, you broke up via phone call, and
I understand you've been dating somebody for a long time.
A O M the courtesy to do this, But man,
it's just time. Go into the article and read it yourself.
If you don't want to do that, which probably don't,
let me just go ahead and fill in the blanks
(14:03):
for you. They couldn't really decide mixed opinions. Some players
were big fans of Harbaugh. Some players felt like it
was time they needed a new voice, some new direction.
Some players thought, you know, the dynamic between Todd Monkin
and John Harbaugh and Lamar Jackson was a little bit awkward.
(14:23):
Others felt like, you know, maybe Lamar Jackson should have
more say in the direction of the organization. We're literally,
our hope and dreams are relying on him. Some people
are pointing out the fact that John Harbaugh was frustrated
with the Lamar Jackson's practice habits, and they were frustrated
with the fact that he was often injured. And we've
talked about it on this show. Listen, the guy misses,
you know, more Wednesday practices than anybody I've ever heard
(14:46):
of my life. There's always a flu. There's always like,
there's always something that comes up. There was a report,
but then others to say, no, man, his relationship with
John Harbaugh was was fine.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
They were great. John Harbor always defended him.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
The point is, you've got so many different things going
in so many different directions. And if they even pointed
out in the article that the Ravens have a philosophy
that if you're not sure on a player when it
comes to drafting him, you take your time and get
more information. And so when John Harbaugh left the facility
(15:23):
on Monday Tuesday, the thought was he was going to
be back, but Steve Bashatti hadn't spoken to anybody. So
then Steve Bashati on Tuesday started calling around to some
of the veteran players and then Steve Bashatti called John
Harbon said, hey, man, upon further.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Review, we're gonna let you go.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
You may not like how it was handled, but if
it was handled that poorly, then John Harbaugh wouldn't have
talked to him two days later. If my wife asked
me for a divorce and it's really bad, like really
really bad, I'm probably not.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Having a conversation with her two days later. Just not happening.
I'm sorry, I'm gone.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
Like, but the point is, you've got all of these
details coming out, and it just felt like an organization
and a coach in which things had run their course.
It just ran its course. It was a really disappointing season.
It didn't appear like it was going in the right direction,
(16:30):
even the people that thought that they were on board
with John Harbaugh. Even John Harbaugh told some of his assistants,
He's like, I don't know, man, it's still up in
the air. Everybody was looking around for a clear cut answer,
and if you can't find one, maybe it's just time.
John Harbaugh reportedly at peace with the decision. He's already
doing research and scouting on other players. Take your time,
take your time, listen. It's just it's fine, We're good.
(16:55):
And I'll bet you you know, he's gonna go into
the the Ravens Ring of Honor and everything's gonna be fine.
Him shot, You're gonna be like, everything's gonna be fine.
But I think we made this out to be oh
my god, because it was shocking, because it's different. We're
not used to the Ravens not having John Harbaugh as
their head coach. They even point out in the article
the last time the Ravens were looking to hire a
(17:16):
head coach, Lamar Jackson was eleven.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
It's been a long ass time.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
So yeah, the fact that he's gonna be elsewhere and
they're gonna have a different head coach, that is bizarre.
It is strange. But also it just meant it was time.
Steve Bashatti's gonna get crushed on this. I get it.
People are gonna look at this. Then they're gonna see Wall.
You know he called him, you know he fired him
over the phone. It's like, Okay, I get it. But
(17:47):
if you do a deep enough dive into this whole thing,
or you just take a step back, you recognize, man,
sometimes things just run their course. If nobody had a
clear cut answer, either way, maybe that was the answer.

(18:28):
might be called a scumbag, maybe he'll be labeled a scumbag,
dirt bag, whatever you want to cut that's fine. But
you know what, at least he knows who he is
if that's the case, if that's what you.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Want to label him.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
Even though he's run a successful organization, he doesn't meddle
in things, he doesn't get involved, he doesn't go to
road games, doesn't like to be shown in the sweets.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
During games like.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
He's not into any of that stuff, which to me
is an owner you would want. Some owners like to
do two interviews a week on local radio and all
that stuff, and you know, compare themselves to venezuel whatever
whatever's going on with Jerry Jones. But the point is
Steve A. Shatt He's none of those. So that feels
like it owner you would want. That feels like somebody
you want to play for. But at least he knows
(19:13):
who he is. Get a whiff of the Miami Dolphins
attempt to try and convince everybody that they didn't make
a scumbag move. According to Adam Schefter, on the day
the Dolphins finalized in agreement with GM John Eric Sullivan,
they finally reached out to John Harbaugh and let it
(19:35):
be known that they too are interested in him, per sources,
So add Miami.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
To the list of teams that would like to meet
with Harbaugh. I mean, can we just cut the crap here?
You know what I mean? Can we just stop?
Speaker 5 (19:51):
Like, is Miami really going full court press to convince
everybody that part of their decision to fire Mike mcnabanel
was because John Harbaugh became available. Can we just stop.
We're not dumb, We're not naive. This isn't our first dance.
We've been down this road before. Can we just stop?
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Oh and by the way. So have the Dolphins.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
And that's why they're sensitive to this because it was
the Dolphins who went and flew to talk to Jim
Harbaugh about the head coaching position while they had a
head coach.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
They're not new to this either.
Speaker 5 (20:31):
It's okay, we get it, John Harbaugh, you look at
as an upgrade over Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
We got it.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
But let's not pretend like one didn't have anything to
do with the other.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
Jeff Darlington was basically painted as the Miami Dolphins cabana
boy because he went around and was trying to tell
everybody on social media like, Hey, look man, I know
it sounds awkward, and it is, but that's not Jeff
Darlington's fault. He's he's repeating and he's saying what he
was told. He's doing his job. Hey, this is what
they told me. I get it, but this is what
(21:04):
they told me. The Miami Dolphins don't want the perception
of being a scumbag while operating any business in an
industry full of scumbags, you know what I mean. Like
it's like somebody who's a drug dealer goes, well, I'm
way better than that guy because I give exact change back.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Okay, all right, good for you.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Like nobody believes that Mike McDaniel just happened to be
fired right after the news of John Harbaugh being fired
took place. Just just happened, total coincidence. What are we
talking about here? It's okay, we understand it's a dirty business,
we get it. But this whole song and dance and oh,
we're just what we're doing. Here's the here's the part.
(21:48):
Because I talked about this last week, and my whole
read on the Mike McDaniels situation was, dude, of course
he's good.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Mike McDaniel's fine. He operated and you know, he's good.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
And why did he feel like he was off with
some sort of job security talking about how he would
be involved in the GM search and all, well, like,
of course he should feel that way.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Why wouldn't he feel security with his job. I mean,
look at what he did at the quarterback position.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
He made a decision to get worse at quarterback just
to see what the future was gonna look like. You're
only doing that if you think you're gonna be a
part of the future. That's the only reason to do that.
You can say whatever you want about Tua Tagoby low
at all I got he struggled here in these games.
He's not the same player or whatever. As of right now,
(22:40):
he's better than quin Yours. He gives your team a
better chance to win the quin Yours. If you say
he doesn't, you're either lying, or you're intoxicated, or you're
an idiot.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
One of the three he does.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
That's not a knock on quin Yours. Maybe he gets there,
but as of right now, if you've got to win
a game, it's gonna be Tua. So Mike McDaniel after
they fired the GM but kept him, felt confident enough
that he was going to be around to see this
thing through that he made the decision to bench the
(23:15):
two hundred plus million dollar franchise quarterback just to see
what they've got in Quinn Yours. And then, you know,
a couple of days after the season, Dolphins ownership meets
a you know, man, I don't know what it is,
but just something doesn't sit right about this year. We're
(23:35):
gonna have to let you go. Yeah, I know it
doesn't sit right. I'm aware of what doesn't sit right.
It's the fact that you also got a news alert
on your phone. That said, the Ravens have parted ways
with John Harbaugh.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Yeah, that's what.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Didn't sit right. Like, if you're going to be a
dirt bag and a dirtbag business, just own it, just
own it.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Yeah, you're right. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:00):
They always say who are the best heels in professional wrestling?
Like who are the best bad guys in professional wrestling?
It's the guys that find the bad part of themselves
or gals find the bad part of themselves and they
turn it up to ten. Whatever thing they've got that
(24:20):
could be abrasive and could piss somebody off, they find
and identify that and they just turn it up to
ten and they own it. If you're the Dolphins, just
turn it up to ten and own it. You clip
the guy because another one became available. Stop using people
in the media to get out your messaging because you're
(24:40):
sensitive about what happened with the Jim Harbaugh attempt at
higher years ago. Just stop at the Jonas Knocks on
X at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram and you can
again hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio
app Right, it's coming up next here. There's somebody that
doesn't get a lot of appreciation especially today in the
world of football. But they're going to get it from me.
Find out who it is right here on FSR. But
(25:02):
for all the latest from around the world, sports ladies
and gentlemen, we welcome in a man if it's high atop.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
The throat at sports Talk Radio. He is the majestic
and the magnificent, Sir Isaac longcrom.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
All True and we begin Jonas with an NFL Playoff
equestrian upday. As you know, the NFL Playoff's gonna kick
off two hours from now with the Carolina Panthers hosting
the Los Angeles Rams, and Panthers receiver Xavier le Get
arrived at the stadium today on horseback. Apparently it's a
(25:40):
hobby and business for him. He owns fourteen horses. So
he rode his horse and the horse is named Dolla
Bill to the stadium today. Your analysis, well, I know.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
They're not playing the Eagles. Because they're playing the Eagles,
one of the fans would have punched it. I know
that that's a true story. By the way Eagles fans
can get upset about.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
It, that's a true snow it is. I don't know
what to tell you now, Hard.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
I've heard reports that Eagles fans have taken out more
horses than Santa Anita.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Oh man, you really had to go there. Oh but no,
I know all about that. That's just reporting, dude. Yeah boy, I'm.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Reporting the facts here, Isaac.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
I don't know if I'm just saying not a lot
of people nationally know the dark the dark story about that.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
I'll say this though, one of my favorite venues on
the planet. I love it. It's because you're not a horse.
Speaker 5 (26:36):
Oh yeah, it's beautiful. Yeah, I'm getting out of there
on one piece. Yeah, it's beautiful. I love San Anita.
You know the San Gabriel Mountains in the background. Ah,
what a good time, man, Yeah, really good time.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Again. I want a horse, I would say it is
didn't uh xavierly get.
Speaker 5 (26:55):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Didn't he eat horses? There's like some some story about
him where he ate like these.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
It wasn't horses, but I don't know if Yeah, I
don't know if that was him or another receiver. But
there was a there was a lengthy conversation about that. Okay, yes,
he did publicly disclose raccoon and possum hold.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Honestly, you've got to do this the right way. Let's
go by what animal did he eat? Insider bree Mirro
for the latest breeze.
Speaker 8 (27:26):
Right behind what Iilo said, a raccoon and I thought
it was a squirrel.
Speaker 9 (27:31):
It was.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
You're right, it was, it was.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
It was both delicacies, if I can put it that way.
Speaker 8 (27:36):
Just like Jerry Jones eats squirrel too, so gross.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
See jonas of people have to understand around the country
is the Fox Sports Radio research and information machine is
elite and first rate. I mean the CIA wishes it had.
And by the way, there you.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Go look at that.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Thank you, and remember some US cowboys.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Well laws yeah, uh, let me try and steered the
Titanic around the iceberg.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
If I might here, I shouldn't come out and visit
my monkey.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Because we do have a lot more a lot more
information kind of along these lines coming up. Atlanta Falcons
today I hired former quarterback Matt Ryan as their new
president of football Operations. They also interviewed Seahawks offensive coordinator
Clint Kubiak, as well as Dolphins defensive coordinaty eater Anthony
Weaver for their head coaching job at FL Media reports
the Dolphins have requested an interview with forty nine Ers
(28:36):
defensive coordinator Roberts Solid for their head coaching job, as
well as Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula, who's the grandson
of legendary Dolphins head coach Don Shula.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
The Dolphins have also.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Reached out to former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh about
their head coaching job. The Eagles ruled out offensive lineman
Brett Toath for Tomorrow's game against the forty nine Ers due.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
To a concussion.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
The Buffalo Bills ruled out receiver Joshua Palmer for Sunday's
game at Jacksonville due to an ankle injury.
Speaker 7 (29:02):
So we have.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Exhaustively covered Xavier Leaguet's youthful dietary habits. We also wrap
up with this report, Jonas with the following update out
of the National Hockey League.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
You're ready, right, all right?
Speaker 2 (29:19):
So, a few days ago, some idiot on social media
put up a post claiming that a player for the
Ottawa Senators got caught cheating on his wife and then
told his wife the names of his teammates who also
cheat on their wives and girlfriends. Now, no one really
(29:39):
paid any attention to this until the Senator's general manager
took the drastic step of issuing a public statement denying
the rumor, in part referring to quote the lowest forms
of trolls and sick people who scour the internet that
are attempting to disrupt our hockey club. Well, well today,
(30:01):
Senator's captain Brady kuld Chuk addressed the rumor as only
a hockey player can listen.
Speaker 10 (30:07):
Knacholai, it's pretty bold, you know. I think it's okay
for people to critique our on ice performance, but when
it gets into family, it's it's pretty bold. So it's
it's embarrassing that it got to the point that it did.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
It's not true. It's just a bold story.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
It was.
Speaker 10 (30:23):
It was bold, so it was definitely all over the media,
spread like wildfire. And then that's just a problem with
social media and now that people can just say whatever
they want.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
That audio courtesy of the Senator's podcast Coming in Hot Sends,
by the way, no word yet if the original social
media poster was also someone who frequently tweets.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
At the Jonas Knocks.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Back to you.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Who tweets I mean to you at the Jonas Knocks,
I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (30:52):
Yeah, I mean, you know, so By the way, what's
that got to do with whether or not they're scoring goals?
Speaker 9 (31:00):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (31:01):
Like, hey, and and what they do on the road
is their business, you know, it's not my business. And
I'm just listen. I'm glad Isaac.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
You know you've never.
Speaker 5 (31:12):
You know, you would never pull a stunt like that
on this show, that you're a more loyal teammate than that, that.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
You would never pull a stop Why of this?
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Oh are you are you? Are you double dog daring me?
Speaker 8 (31:22):
Well?
Speaker 5 (31:22):
No, I'm just saying, like it does feel like where
would this Where would this person just make this story
up at a thin air? Was it was it literally
just made up at a thin air and then everybody
had to respond to it. Or was it was their
actual validity and evidence and anything else that goes along
with it.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Well, I think it speaks to more about our sports
media culture. It's like that quote by Mark Mark Twain,
a lie can travel halfway around the world while the
truth is still putting on its pants unquote. I suppose
in ironic terminology there but taking off your pants. Well, allegedly,
it's also the Streisand effect, because I don't think I
(32:00):
would have heard about this if the general manager, and
I know the general manager was just trying to stick
up for his players, but I don't think this would
have spread to the quote unquote mainstream sports media if
the general manager hadn't put out that statement.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
It's kind of like the Streisand effect. Yeah, well, I
don't know anything about the Streisand effect, but uh, googo,
I'll pull Kurt Kurt Signetti google it. So here we go.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
We've covered the Ottawa Senators, horses at Santa Anita, and uh,
squirrels and.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Raccoons, So I think that just about covers it. Back
to you name.
Speaker 5 (32:33):
Let me just say this for any of those guys
that were participating in that off the ice, I don't care.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Just go win games. What do I care? What do
I care? Doesn't matter to me, you know, not my problem.
I got my own issues. My problem. You don't looking
for role models in sports. Sorry, you don't stick your
nose where it doesn't belong. Allegedly, well some of them
did allegedly, So all right.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
It is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio at
the Jonas Knocks on X you know, speaking of which,
there is somebody here that I'd like to address Dan Lanning,
the head coach of Oregon.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
You know, so people were kind of mocking him a
little bit because of his team's.
Speaker 5 (33:13):
Performance last night, and they get destroyed by Indiana, and
so Dan Lanning afterwards tried to take a more positive
approach to all this, tried to show some appreciations. I
want you to listen to head coach of Oregon, Dan Lanning,
showing some appreciation for his players, and then I'm going
to tell you exactly why I too appreciate them.
Speaker 6 (33:33):
This is going to be a life lesson that a
lot of people never get.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Right.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
We just got our butt kick, all right, That's going
to happen in life, right, and not just Dante, every
single person in the locker room, every coach, every person
can learn. How do you respond to that? Some people
crawl into a hole, right, don't face the music. Some
people will say, okay, let's figure it out. Let me
challenge myself so I can get better. Let me go
be an example to how do you handle moments like this?
Speaker 3 (33:57):
And you know what, Dan, let me tell you something.
How do you handle moments like last night?
Speaker 4 (34:01):
You live?
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Bet you you know what?
Speaker 5 (34:02):
Off Because while some people were sitting there crying about
Oregon getting blown out. Some of us had the nuts
to step up and say, you know what, I'm gonna
support the Ducks, and I'm gonna support them, especially when
I'm getting thirty four and a half points and guess what,
Bingo Bengo with about twenty seconds left and a pat
(34:24):
that meant nothing, and away we go. We are in
the winner circle. And that's the problem. That's the problem.
You got too many negative people out there that go
into those games focused on what their quote unquote pick
was on the game, and not enough of them.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Are willing to adjust on the fly.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
And I'm watching Oregon getting knifed by Indiana on national TV,
and I could have sat there and said, you know what,
I thought Oregon was gonna keep this close.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
But you know what I did. I stepped up. I
didn't give up, all right.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
I persevered and I found Oh you know what, look
at that Organ's getting thirty four and a half points.
You take a swing, the ball goes over the fence
and the next thing you know, the rest is history.
So while the rest of the day, blocks are sitting
there crying in your oatmeal, wondering what happened to your ducks.
Some of us were out there trying to find solutions,
(35:14):
so thank you, Dan Lanning. Not us on this show
are like everybody else who wants to rip you apart
on social media. Coming up next here it is another
edition of do You Care? It's yours right here on
FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up top of
next hour a little over ten minutes from now. People
gotta let this guy live a little bit, all right,
Let him be himself. Stop trying to change people to
(35:36):
make you feel more comfortable with things in the world
of football. We'll get into that for you coming up
here a little over ten minutes from now. By the way,
you can follow along on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show.
You can also follow us on x at The Jonas Knox.
But right now, it's time for a Saturday tradition called this.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste to.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Dmzer reports, Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big
stories from the last week.
Speaker 1 (36:06):
But Jonas, the real question is.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Do you care?
Speaker 5 (36:10):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bremuro to find out what the hell people have
been talking about all week.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
What's up? Brief?
Speaker 8 (36:16):
What's up? Jonas? Okay, So, during his media availability this week,
Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers took a shot at the Jets,
stating that during his time at Pittsburgh there hasn't been quote,
any leaks on the boat and how nice it is
to go through a season without quote any bs on
and off the field. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Yeah, I think it's nice. I think it's nice as well, Aaron.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
And while you had Aaron Glenn who sat there and
looked you in the eyes and said, we don't need you. Meanwhile,
he's operating a team whose defense had zero interceptions an
entire year, which is the first time in NFL history.
Aaron Rodgers finds himself hosting a playoff game in primetime
on Monday Night. It's a good conclusion to what was
(36:58):
set up to be a miserable story.
Speaker 8 (37:01):
Next, eighty one year old al Michaels is officially returning
to Amazon Prime next season to call Thursday Night football. Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yeah, I do care.
Speaker 5 (37:10):
And I'll tell you something about al Michaels. And I've
said this before. I don't think he's lost his fastball.
I just think al Michaels has seen so many things
in the NFL that if he's not interested in the result,
or if a play doesn't impress him, yes, sorry, doesn't
impress me, Like you got to do more to impress
the guy if you give him a bad game. When
they first got games on Amazon Prime early on, he
(37:33):
was going to call him out. Al Michaels is still
a quality broadcaster. He's one of the all time greats.
I hope he does it for as long as he wants.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
Next, the NCAA denied ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss the
waiver request for a six year of eligibility, and ole
Miss has decided to appeal Jonas do you care?
Speaker 3 (37:50):
No, I don't care he have those I'm done.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
I just I'm fatigued with portal talk and transfer eligibility
and this and that, and it's like, come on, man,
can we just like watch the games, focus on the games,
look at the matchups, and then take.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
Time to get into all that garbage later.
Speaker 8 (38:06):
Next, in an appearance on the Netflix Sports Club podcast
that I've never heard of before in August, Paul fine
Bomb said that he was so tired of being harassed
by Big ten fans and that he would leave the
country if an SEC team did not win the national
championship this year. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Kind of?
Speaker 5 (38:24):
I mean I don't care about the the whole SEC
Big ten stuff, the conference rivalry claiming your conference, Like
I just it's been going on for so long.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
I don't care about that. But where would he go?
Like if you're Paul fine Bomb, Like, where could you
go if you were gonna think I'm moving to Mexico? Okay?
Speaker 5 (38:41):
Imagine Paul fine Bomb in Mexico? All right, imagine Paul
mom walking down the streets of Guadalajara. Okay, Like, let
me just tell you something, as somebody who's been there,
probably not the place for him.
Speaker 8 (38:53):
Next, the Memphis Grizzlies are entertaining offers to potentially trade
two time All star Jah Marian ahead of the trade deadline. Honest,
do you care?
Speaker 3 (39:01):
Oh no, definitely not. No, I don't care.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
This is like, what's the real gripe here? Well, he
rubbed teammates the wrong way? What because he had a
fake gunlighter? Like what are we talking about? Like, so,
if you're gonna trade him, trade him. I'm so tired
of these superstars and and all of a sudden, they've
got to be dealt because teams aren't happy, et cetera,
et cetera.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
Just make your move and let us live our lives.
Speaker 8 (39:24):
Next, the Saints are committed to Tyler Schuck as they're
starting quarterback in twenty twenty six. Jonis, do you care?
Speaker 3 (39:30):
I do I.
Speaker 9 (39:34):
Like it?
Speaker 5 (39:34):
Because let me tell you something, If Bremuro cares about it,
that means I care too.
Speaker 9 (39:39):
Damn right.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
There's three things you don't do.
Speaker 5 (39:41):
You don't spit in the wind, you don't tug on
Superman's cape, and you don't shame the Saints in front
of Bree that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Don't listening to Fox Sports.
Speaker 5 (39:51):
You know, just because somebody makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't
mean they can't just be themselves and you can't just
let him live a little bit. We'll get into that
for you coming up here just a couple of moments
from now. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can listen
to this show as always on the iHeartRadio app. You
can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country.
If you're listening on the podcast. We appreciate you doing so,
(40:12):
and we are talking football.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Baby.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
We got playoff football in college, we got playoff football
in the NFL. All sorts of stuff to get to.
But before we look forward, we got to look back.
Because I was making this point earlier that Indiana has
been so dominant that I'm waiting to see what the
catch is, Like there's got to be something else here,
(40:38):
Like it doesn't even make sense. They're awful for years
and years and decades and decades and decades, and then
all of a sudden they're just the most dominant team
in the sport.
Speaker 3 (40:50):
It's crazy.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
What they did last night to Oregon was absurd. What
they did to Alabama was insane. And it's all of
those things because of what they were before Kurt Signetti
got there. It's why when you hear people say this
is the greatest coaching job in the history of maybe sports,
(41:13):
you're looking at it going nah, na, na, And then
you look at the historical comparisons between where they'd been
at their accomplishments or lack thereof, probably better put, and
where they are now and you just go, oh, no,
this is like, yeah, it's in the conversation and I
said this earlier, like they're so dominant that I just
(41:36):
I think it's fake. I think it's ai. I think
there's some conspiracy going on. There's got to be something
else that There's no possible way they're this good. There's
no possible way. And I look around at like the
you know, the usuals. Like, man, when you found out
after the Astros won the World Series, when you found
out what was going on, you were like, okay, now
it makes sense. All right, I get it makes sense now,
(41:59):
yeap banging trash cans, like electrical buzzers on their torso,
under their jerseys, like all the like stee like all
that stuff. Then you look back at it, you go, okay,
makes makes total sense now. And I almost find myself
waiting for that to happen with this team, which is
not fair. But I've just not used to seeing Indiana
(42:23):
football like this. If you were to ask me, to
ask me two years ago, all right, Indiana sports. First
name that comes to mind, what is it? Bobby Knight,
Colbert Cheney, like Isaiah Thomas, Bobby Hurley is the point
guard in Blue Chips.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
I like, That's what I'm thinking of.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
And now we've completely rewritten how we think about an
entire program, an entire university and their athletics because of
Kurt Signetti and Fernando Mindal, Like, it's bizarre.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
There's got to be a catch steroid, it's cheating.
Speaker 5 (43:02):
Artificial intelligence, like whatever, Like, there's got to be something.
I almost want to crocket. I want to go on
and ask Grok is this real? Is Fernando Mendoza Ai?
Does Kurt Signetti really exist? Are we living in the matrix?
Are we living in some sort of a simulation?
Speaker 3 (43:23):
Like what is going on here?
Speaker 5 (43:25):
Because none of it makes sense? And then you get
to the conversation about Kurt Signetti and it's like, ah,
you know, people look at him and they go, well,
you know, he's a Sabin disciple, so he's like, you know,
he's got a little bit of that Sabin going on,
and you've got you know, he's you know, maybe a
little bit of a red ass, and he shows no
emotion and there's a little Belichick going on there and
(43:46):
all that stuff, and so like, of course, Kurt Signetti
before the organ game, he gets asked by somebody about
you know the fact that he never smiles, and he
had this to.
Speaker 11 (43:57):
Say, No, that's not right. I mean there's a lot
of time I am happy, I just don't show I'm happy.
And if I'm going to ask my players right to
play the first game, first play, to play one fifty
the same, regardless of the competitive circumstances, then I can't
be seen on the sideline right, high fiving people and
(44:18):
celebrating or what's going to happen? Right, what's the effect
going to be?
Speaker 5 (44:23):
Right?
Speaker 11 (44:25):
So that's why I am like I am during a game. Plus,
I gotta make important decisions manage a game. These decisions
we have to make in terms of games man game management,
when to use timeout, when not to use timeout, whether
to be aggressive in two minutes? Right, I had to
use a timeout on defense that I called against Alabama
on fourth to one, right, and end up being a
(44:46):
pretty big secret, you know. So you got to be
dialed in and thinking ahead. You know, I'll smile and
celebrate later in the coaches room with the coaches, you know,
maybe have a beer. Of course, in the playoffs, you
got to do nine or ten different press conferences after
the game. So that's about nine and a half later.
(45:07):
You know, people ask are you ever do you ever
get to enjoy this. And last week I asked Jeff Keke,
I said, we just won the game and I got
ten press conferences I got to do after the game.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
When am I going to enjoy this?
Speaker 11 (45:18):
So No, I do smile and I am happy at times.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
You know what, Hey, Kurt, you could do whatever the
hell you want. Why are we trying to make this
guy smile more, be more approachable?
Speaker 3 (45:31):
Do whatever the hell you want.
Speaker 5 (45:34):
His last name Signetti. If he does want to smoke
cigarettes on the sideline, go ahead. If you want to
light up a lung dart and put it out on
the bottom of your shoe as you're walking into the stadium,
do whatever the hell you want. If you want to
be a red ass. If you want to go rip
beers at a local brewery in Bloomington afterwards, who cares,
(45:57):
Do whatever you want. We got to stop trying to
make these athletes coaches approachable, make him into something that
make us feel comfortable.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
No, do whatever the hell you want. Be exact, Let
the guy live, Let the guy operate as the way
he sees fit.
Speaker 5 (46:15):
He doesn't want to show any emotion while he's there
on the sideline. Yeah, he's right, he's got to make
a ton of decisions. He's got a lot to do,
Like how do you want him to celebrate? I don't know.
He's got to sit there and go through all these
postgame interviews and press conferences and all that.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
Like you ever heard this is.
Speaker 5 (46:33):
What's crazy, okay, because a lot of people don't think
about this stuff. And Troy Aikman actually told this story
recently where he was talking about how his first Super
Bowl he had nobody to hang out with. He ended
up hanging out and you know, having a drink and
and you know, with the hotel staff members and team
(46:56):
staff members because he had to do so much postgame
press that by the time he got done with it all,
all the players had already left to go to Super
Bowl parties. He had nobody to hang out with us.
He ended up hanging out at the hotel bar and
the lobby with like members of the staff, some coaching
like broadcasters were there, just because he had nobody to
hang out with. Like some of these boxing events, like
(47:19):
these UFC boxing events that take place on the East Coast,
by the time they get done, say the main event
ends at you know, after midnight one am. By the
time they get out of there. It's like four in
the morning, Like you're not able to really enjoy it
or take part in it like some people are. And
so Kurtzignetti he's like, look, man, there's just a reality
(47:40):
to this job. Sure I do smile, Sure I get happy.
I'd love to go rip a beer, maybe shock and
a beer in my office.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
I would love to.
Speaker 5 (47:48):
I mean, unless you're coaching at Ohio because apparently that's
not allowed. Okay, apparently that's not allowed at Ohio. But
Kurt Signetti he's like, yeah, I would love to do
all that, but I've got all this I gotta do,
Like I've got to get through all of this after
coaching a team in the middle of a game. But
people know you gotta smile more, Kurt, show more personality.
(48:08):
No be a red ass, like you want to be
an ahole.
Speaker 3 (48:12):
Be an a hole. That's fine. Belichick did it for years.
Speaker 5 (48:17):
And yeah, maybe people on the back end were happy
and they like to take shots at Belichick because he
wasn't nice or forthcoming with the media, or maybe he
didn't give you all the answers you wanted to give
you a bunch of can dry answers.
Speaker 3 (48:27):
But you know what he did the way you wanted
to do it.
Speaker 5 (48:30):
We gotta stop trying to mold people into what makes
us feel comfortable. No, the best part about somebody is
that they're not you. How Ell is she gonna take
in new things? How well she gonna experience new Like, hey, oh,
that guy's kind of quirky over there? Boy, he never
says anything. Yeah, it's either that or maybe you talk
(48:53):
too much.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
I don't know. Maybe that's why.
Speaker 5 (48:55):
So if your Kurt Signetty handle it exactly the way
you've been handling it, it's worked. Wonders and people gotta
stop trying to make him be something that he's not.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Is he gonna go have a beer? Maybe? Is he
gonna crack a smile? Probably not?
Speaker 5 (49:12):
Is he gonna beat your ass every time he takes
the field as of right now? Yes, I mean they're
a seven plus point favorite over Miami, who's looked pretty
good themselves.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
And it's a road game. That game is a home game.
Speaker 5 (49:28):
For the Hurricanes, and Indiana is so dominant that they're
an overwhelming favorite to win that game. Like it's like,
you can't even like what they're doing is improbable. So
Kurt signetti.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Hey man, live your life.
Speaker 5 (49:48):
Stop trying to let people got to stop trying to
force their ideals on that guy. Let him do whatever
the hell he wants, because that guy's coaching as soon
to be a national champion. Jonas Knox here on Fox
Sports Radio. Give me on X at the Jonas Knox
follow along on Instagram as well too at Jonas Knox Show.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
And you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. All right, it's coming up next.
Speaker 5 (50:11):
There was a move that was made in the NFL
today that could lead to an even bigger move that
takes place later on tonight.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
I'll tell you what it is next.
Speaker 12 (50:25):
All right.
Speaker 9 (50:25):
First off, Jonas Knox can suck it.

Speaker 5 (50:55):
Probably can't get into it on the air now though,
Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. Coming up,
and we will call it a little over ten minutes
from now. There does need to be a conversation the TAD.
I know nobody wants to do it, and the NFL
is going to give you some candy ass response and
try and click, but there does need to be a
conversation about something that the NFL does. It still doesn't
(51:19):
make a lot of sense. We'll get into that for
you right here on FSR. A lot of positive feedback
here on the show. People really fired up about what
we've done here so far. Through an hour and twenty minutes.
Some guy who goes by the name of rumpel foreskin
(51:40):
on X right in and says, Jonas is making my
ears bleed as I sit here painfully bleeping out my
aunt's under microwaved meat loaf. How the f did this
woke bleep for brains bleep connoisseur get on the radio
in the first place. He must not have a gag reflex.
(52:03):
You know his bleep smells like bleep. Dan writes in,
you bleep bleep, You get to enjoy your new Cuban
beefcake on Indy while you bleep your bleep to his
goober ass, sounding like the bleep he is. You beta
(52:27):
bleep gobbling ass, Jason writes in nothing This Hack and
s Bag, Jonas enjoys more than busting out his bleep
to his redneck hick bleep signetti you bleep packing bleep

that again because Fox a dump.
Speaker 3 (53:09):
Limit for the segment. Did I get dumb for anything?
Speaker 5 (53:12):
There was that?
Speaker 3 (53:14):
Just just one thing, just one thing?
Speaker 5 (53:16):
All right? Well, look, that's why that's why there's card
rails man, Like, sometimes we want to bowl a three hundred.
Speaker 3 (53:25):
Sometimes Chris has got to put the bumpers up. It happens.
That's life.

So one of the games coming up later on tonight
kind of has a tie in to a story that
(53:50):
took place earlier. So Matt Ryan was quote unquote officially
hired by the Falcons. Everybody knew this was going to happen.
It was almost like the news got out early and
then they had to kind of walk it back and
then let it slowly leak out. But it's official. Matt
Ryan's going to be the team president of football with
the Falcons. So this according to ESPN, the role is
(54:15):
a new one added to the organization's front office. In
recent days. Ryan was widely expected to be hired for
this position. He will now lead the searches of both
the open head coach and GM roles and will have
oversight of whoever is hired. So you look at that
and you go, all right, so that's the story today.
How could that story be tied into what takes place tonight?
(54:39):
And tonight you've got the packers of the Bears and
one of the rumors or possibilities that's been out there
is what happens to Matt Lafleur if the Packers lose
this game tonight, And a lot of this is tied
into the fact that Matt Lafleur or if there's a
(55:01):
contractual thing going on, there's been a change there in
the front office. They didn't redo his contract. Same with
the GM Brian Guda Kunst, and so the conversation as
they look at this, so it's like, well, that's a
little awkward, a little interesting, and when you see what
Matt Lafleur has done there, you look at and you go, well,
(55:21):
that's insane. Why would they move on from Matt Lafleor.
But the fact that there was no deal done does
bring this up as part of the conversation. So Albert
Breer was on with us on Thursday morning in talking
about the expected hire of Matt Ryan in Atlanta, and
he kind of tied the two together as to why
(55:43):
the Falcons hire today could have something.
Speaker 3 (55:46):
To do with a Green Bay loss.
Speaker 9 (55:48):
Later on tonight, did they look at it and say,
you know, we want to do something bold and you
guys know Matt Ryan's.
Speaker 3 (55:55):
Position coach was there? You want to good call? Yeah,
it was Matt Laflor. Yeah, so Matt Lafleur was there.
Speaker 9 (56:05):
So I mean, if you're Matt Ryan and you're saying, okay,
like we want to we want to do something that's
going to make a splash and kind of establish us,
do you pick up the phone to call the packers
if they lose this weekend and say like, hey, what
would it take for us to get him out of there?
Speaker 8 (56:22):
You know?
Speaker 9 (56:23):
And if if the packers are in a position where
they're saying like, well, we're not sure we want to
do a contract right now with Lafour, do they listen
and they have a guy on their staff and Jeff
Haffley who's going to be sought after to be a
head coach, and maybe they think a lot. It's just
there's this sliding door thing. So I don't think they're
going to fire Lafloor, but I do think like the
(56:44):
contract situation being what it is, could create some of
these moving parts and.
Speaker 5 (56:52):
It is kind of interesting. And again that was Albert Breer.
That was from Thursday, before the official news of Matt
Huh Matt Ryan's hire in Atlanta came out earlier today.
But it is interesting just sort of the tone surrounding
both of these teams tonight to where the Bears are
just happy to be there. I mean, they could say
(57:14):
whatever they want about nah no, we got bigger goal. Like, dude,
you're just happy to be there. It's been a long time, okay,
Like if you want to count whatever, you know, the
COVID year and the you know, the game at the
Saints in that playoff, Like if you want to count that, fine, Okay,
they were the seventh seed.
Speaker 3 (57:32):
They probably had no business being there.
Speaker 5 (57:35):
You go all the way back to twenty eighteen when
Matt Naggie first got there and they lost on the
double doink from Cody Parky and all that. Like you,
but it's been a long time. Their last playoff win
was twenty eleven. Like, the guy who scored the first
touchdown in that game was Greg Olsen, and I think
(57:55):
he's calling the Rams game coming up here. So it's
really been a long ass time. And they're looking around going, oh,
we're in the mix. But there does feel like, hey,
we're happy to be here kind of moment, like we're
glad to be a part of the conversation.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
We've got a shot. We've beaten them once before.
Speaker 5 (58:16):
All that, But with Green Bay, it looks like, huh,
maybe there's some stuff going on here, Like the fact
that Matt Lafleur's name is even in the conversation is weird.
He's done a really good job since he's gotten to
the Packers. And there's a lot of people who wanted
to claim that Matt Lafleur had the success he had
(58:37):
because well, Aaron Rodgers was there, and when you inherit
Aaron Rodgers, of course you're gonna have success. But man,
the reason he took over the job is because they
were terrible. Mike McCarthy got fired in season. They were awful.
He gets there and he's winning thirteen games a year.
He's had one losing season and it was twenty twenty two. Like,
(59:00):
you look at it and you go, there's a lot
of playoff appearances. He's won some playoff games. You can argue,
should they have maybe gone farther with Rogers, Sure, but
you could say that about several teams that Rogers was on,
and it's not the place blame on Rogers. But to
look at this and look in totality of what Matt
Lafleur has done, the guy's thirty six games over five hundred, Like,
(59:23):
he's had really good success with the Packers, and they've
dealt with a lot of injuries this year. If you
look at where they were at this year, if you're
going to assess the Green Bay Packers, you've got to
assess them with the fact that, man, they lost maybe
their best offensive weapon at tight end. They lost their
best defensive player that they just traded for and paid
(59:43):
a bunch of money to. They've got injuries all up
and down the line up. I think they've got like
fourteen to fifteen guys on ir like, they've been riddled
with injuries. So the idea that all of a sudden,
Matt Lafleur is sitting there coaching his team coming up
later on tonight, and you've got the Bears who look
like a guy who just got out of solitaire confinement
(01:00:05):
and he's like, all right, whoa, there's actual sunlight. And
you've got another team who's got a coach who's thirty
six games over five hundred and his name is being
rumored as a potential candidate for other jobs. And then
the way Albert Breer lays it out, you've got the
Matt Ryan connection to all that. It's just interesting to
watch how a story that became official today could lead
(01:00:27):
to something bigger later on tonight, Jonas Knox here on
Fox Sports Radio, at the Jonas Knox on x at,
Jonas knoxhow on Instagram, and you can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio apps. So coming up
next here, at some point, the NFL has got to
have a real conversation about something that makes no sense whatsoever.
We'll get into that for you right here on FSR.
But for all the latest from around the world of
(01:00:47):
sports ladies and gentlemen. The one and only, the Magnificent
and the man who broke the story of all the
Ottawa Senators players cheating on their girlfriends. Me I broke
the story of the captain denying that story that was
started by an internet troll.
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
That was a choice by Magnolah's that's all right.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
It was magnified by the Senators general manager putting out
a statement. It was a fascinating discourse about how a
rumor spreads in our modern social media landscape, which you
can hear during our one of the podcast. How about
that for a promo of your show? By the way,
ticket's great. Yeah, you're walk take it. If you have
a promo, we can get them onto the apparently much
(01:01:32):
less interesting National Football League, where the Atlanta Falcons hired
former quarterback Matt Ryan as their new president of football operations.
The Falcons today interviewed Seahawks offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak, as
well as Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver for their head
coaching job. NFL Media reports the Dolphins requested an interview
with forty nine Ers defensive coordinator Robert Salad for their
(01:01:54):
head coaching job, as well as Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula,
the grandson of legendry Dolphins coach Don Shula. The Dolphins
have also reached out to former Ravens head coach John
Harbaugh about their head coaching job. On a related note,
Fox Sports Jay Glazer just posted and I quote just
spoke with John Harbaugh, who told me that while a
(01:02:15):
ton of teams have reached out to him about their openings,
he's going to take the weekend and narrow down to
maybe three or four to go interview four rather than
all across the board.
Speaker 3 (01:02:28):
Unquote.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
The Washington Commanders today named quarterbacks coach David Blouse, their
new offensive coordinator. Eagles ruled out offensive lineman Brett Toath
for tomorrow's game against the forty nine ers because of
a concussion. The Buffalo Bills ruled out receiver Joshua Palmer
for their game tomorrow at Jacksonville due to an ankle injury. Finally, Jonas,
we have an Australian boxing slash skydiving updates.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
You're right right.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
An Australian skydiver was recording himself gracefully parachuting to the
Earth when upon landing, he was immediately confronted by a
kangaroo who tried to box him.
Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
Listen, what's up, Scot.
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
All right?
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
Yea kangaroos.
Speaker 2 (01:03:25):
For the best analysis that you can find in the
sports world, let's go to Fox Sports Radio Australian boxing
slash skydiving analyst Jonas Knox. Jonas, kangaroos are they're a
holes man like that? And you know what, don't they
like sit up on their tail when they're trying to box.
(01:03:46):
It's almost like their tails of pogo stick.
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
That's what the video did show, yes, yeah, and then.
Speaker 5 (01:03:51):
They start throwing down like that's and look, I know
that you know this is probably gonna piss some people off.
Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Maybe Pete is gonna get upset with this, but.
Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
That's like, I don't think Peter could get any more
upset than what you had to say earlier during our
Santa Anita conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
Ah well, if that's the case, and yeah, like that,
that's when you just break out a sowd off. I mean,
they wouldn't get up at you. You're not the one
who's causing all that allegedly.
Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
I mean, look, if you've got if there's an animal
that looks like a kangaroo, which which you know is
just I mean, it looks like an alien and it
sits back on its tail and starts throwing punches and kicks.
Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
Like some moy Thai fighter.
Speaker 5 (01:04:31):
I'm sorry, I'm not taking my chances that my bum
knee is going to survive a low kick from that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
Sowt off.
Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
End of story.
Speaker 5 (01:04:39):
Maybe maybe if he's got the right attitude, I'll drag
his carcass off the road so nobody runs him.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
Over after the fact.
Speaker 5 (01:04:45):
Maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
I like how you use the Australian adjective there, which
I think was fitting for this story, but expanding upon
your a whole comment. It is kind of an a
whole thing to do when someone is risking their life
plummeting to earth during a skydive in a parachute.
Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
Agree. You you know there's so much that could go
wrong knock on wood.
Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
And you decide to pounce on someone who has just
basically risks risk their lives to get their jollys, like
literally right when he lands.
Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
I agree. And here's the thing, Like, if.
Speaker 5 (01:05:22):
Somebody fell off the parking structure at the studio and
you know that's actually happened before, you know that, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Yeah, but that wasn't next. I don't think they actually fell.
I think yeah, like they were.
Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
They think they're trying to see if they could make
it across Del Poiloco. But the point is, uh, if
somebody falls off the parking structure and they're laying there
on the ground and they've survived, and somebody's dog walks
by and relieves themselves.
Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
On it, but a dog would never have that. A
dog wouldn't wear that. Dogs are nice. You're saying that's fine,
you're saying a kangaroo would.
Speaker 5 (01:05:54):
But whatever, if an animal walks by and and takes
liberties in a vulnerable moment.
Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
I'm sorry. What happens next is what happens next, and
I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna, you know, get upset.
Speaker 1 (01:06:05):
With that person for it.
Speaker 5 (01:06:05):
If a coyote, like coyotes are out here running around,
they're running a mock when going over the place, like
looking for somebody's you know, a small animal to eat
or a small child like if I if you know,
if I fall off the roof putting up Christmas decorations
next year and a coyote wants to take liberties, I'm
going straight into the kitchen. I'm finding the biggest knife
I can and we're going to go to work.
Speaker 9 (01:06:27):
This is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
Yeah, you know what I mean, no offense, but I
got ten bucks on a coyote.
Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
If that happens, probably and thus concludes a Wild Kingdom
edition of What's trending back to you.
Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
Hey, by the way, if the coyote got to me first,
could you imagine my son avenging his death? You killed
my father? Prepared to die, you son of a bitch?
No princess bride. Oh how old is your son? I
mean is immediately or when he grows up? Now, when
he gets older Okay, okay, So he would avenge your death.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
He wouldn't go straight to your family's attorney to to
inquire about you know, the estate family's attorney.
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
What are you talking? Have you ever seen narcos?
Speaker 5 (01:07:05):
They don't have attorneys, got ja, But here's like you
ever seen a princess bride where he wants to avenge
his father's death.
Speaker 3 (01:07:13):
Sure, he says, you killed my father for prepared to
die the son of a bitch. I could see my
son doing that to the coyote. You know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
Let's go live or I have a thought on a
coyote killing me inside a christ perhapulolais Chris?
Speaker 12 (01:07:24):
I think there is a sweet spot age that you
are talking to, like, you need to be young. You
have to be old enough to remember it. But you
can't be too. But you still need to be young
enough to have that fiery hot passion that you dedicate
your life for revenge versus what Ila was bringing up,
which is trying to file a lawsuit. You need to
get him at just the right spot where they're going
to remember it and they're going to swear vengeance for
(01:07:46):
their their entire life will just be vengeance after that.
Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
I mean, look, if that's the case, I mean, you
guys have made this way too complicated. Next time I
put up Christmas lights, just in case this happens, I'll
line my shirt pocket with with grenades and just pull
the pin on the ground. That's how we're gonna Then
I'll have to tell your son that it was a conspiracy.
Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
That's fine, Vengines.
Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
It just seems if I didn't know any better, you
were actually kind of hoping that this would happen just
so you.
Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
Could see what the result would be. I'm just saying no,
because then nobody's going to clean it up. That's like,
you gotta see this place like I'm gonna be the
one out there doing it.
Speaker 5 (01:08:19):
It's just so yeah, look, it's unfortunate. I'm glad the
guys survived. And if you're that kangaroo, you ought to
be ashamed of yourself. By the way, fun little fact,
one of my all time favorite boxers is Australian. His
name is Michael Katzds. All right, once you look that up.
Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
I'll look him up right now, there you go. Are
you gonna book him a magic against the Kangaroo for
his next bout?
Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
Oh no, no, no, no, I'm not sure. I'm not
sure what he's got going on. I've heard reports and
they're not nice. But that being said, it is Jonas
Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in about
ten minutes from now, we're gonna have the wild Card
weekend edition of Knox Locks right here on FSR. I
do think that it is nice that Mother Nature is
doing and everything she can to try and make this
(01:09:04):
matchup that we've got coming up here shortly between the
Rams and the Panthers like actually interesting, cause they're going
to try and sell you this game anyway they can.
Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Wall.
Speaker 3 (01:09:14):
You know, the Panthers beat the Rams last time, it's
like okay.
Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
And uh, you know, I mean like they were going
up and down the field on that okay, and they
you know, made a couple of phone calls, maybe hit
up some chemtrail expert and said, hey, could you do
anything to kind of, you know, add a couple of
wrinkles into this game, and it's like, all right, well,
we've got to potentially have thunderstorms and.
Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
There's win that could be in the area. And the
reality is it's absurd that the Rams are the road
team here. It's absurd and.
Speaker 5 (01:09:46):
The NFL can try and sell you on, well, you know,
we want to put a value on winning the division. Sure,
the value is you get to the playoffs. But if
you're not a good team, and the Carolina Anthers are that,
then you shouldn't get to host a playoff game against
a team who won twelve games. It doesn't make sense.
(01:10:09):
And every time they try and to like sell you
on this story, well, you know, it's about winning your division.
So then let the Rams borrow the NFC South for
a change. Why is this still happening? And for some reason,
they bring it up every offseason and nobody wants to
(01:10:29):
make the change for some reason, And then they'll justify
it and say, wow, you know, but so and so
won this game, and it's like, okay, but they won
the division. And remember the Seahawks beat the Saints years ago.
Man Seattle wasn't good and the only reason they won
that game is because it was at home. They shouldn't
have been at home. So don't you use the result
(01:10:50):
to justify the fact that that team was worthy of
earning that spot. Carolina is not worthy of having a
home playoff game. The Rams are yet here we are
and Carolina is going to need mother nature fluky performances
like last game, and they're getting spotted an extra ten
and a half points to try and make the math
work doesn't add up. At the Jonas Knox on x
(01:11:12):
at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram and coming up next here,

Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
They're so bad today that I read one and got dumped.
Speaker 5 (01:12:23):
It was inappropriate what I read, apparently, So all of
that can be yours on the Instagram page at Jonas
Knox Show and the IG Stories. Those will be posted
shortly here. But right now it is time for the
wild card weekend edition of.
Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
This right, locked it, Let's lock it Knoxlocks.
Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
All right, so let's go back to how the regular
season finished off, because I was in the midst of
a slump that we've not seen in Knoxlocks ever before.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
All right, Actually, that's probably a lie. Let me call
myself out. That's a lie.
Speaker 5 (01:13:02):
We've been awful times, but it felt like we were
trending in the right direction by about week fourteen fifteen,
in the clear, going.
Speaker 3 (01:13:09):
To have a winning season.
Speaker 5 (01:13:11):
All was good, and then all of a sudden, you know,
a couple of one in two weeks, a couple of
more one in two weeks. Then in week seventeen we
go zero to three, and all now we're looking around, going, oops,
we were one game under five hundred heading into week eighteen,
and week eighteen is one of the biggest pain in
the asses to pick because you don't know if somebody's
(01:13:33):
going to rest their starters halfway through the game. You
don't know who's motivated, who's playing for incentives, who's playing
just to be healthy to get to the offseason. So
it was kind of a risky proposition that we were
going to be able to get above five hundred, and
so we decided, all right, what do you feel confident in? Well,
I felt confident in the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
All right.
Speaker 5 (01:13:54):
The Seahawks were a two and a half point favorite
against the Niners. I'd like Seattle in that game. I
thought they would get their revenge on the forty nine ers,
and they did, so we're off to a good start.
I looked at the Jets and the Bills and I thought, man,
there's one thing I know, because maybe I don't know
how long Josh Allen's going to play in this game for,
but there's one thing I do know. It's that the
(01:14:14):
Jets are awful, so you trust what you know, and
we bet the Bills minus seven and a half and
guess what, we got it done. So all we needed
was the Los Angeles Rams as an eight and a
half point favorite against the Arizona Cardinals to finish off
the three and oh week and Week eighteen of Knox locks.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
And they delivered. It was a little dice early on,
they didn't look good, but they deliver.
Speaker 5 (01:14:42):
Thus we get ourselves a three and oh final week
of the regular season. Our regular season overall record is
twenty seven twenty five and two, which brings us.
Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
To this weekend, Rams at Panthers. I'm gonna take the Rams. Look,
I know it's a big line. I get it.
Speaker 5 (01:15:02):
I understand we're talking of all it's historic and good god,
could you how could you have a team hosting a
game be a ten point underdog.
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
Well it's easy.
Speaker 5 (01:15:13):
Carolina kind of stinks, and the Rams, in my opinion,
are the best team in the NFC. I know they've
got a couple of questionable losses, but I look at
the Rams and I go, that's a.
Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
Team that's going to be going to a super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (01:15:24):
Give me the Rams. I know it's a big spread.
I know it's on the road. They've got all sorts
of motivation. They're all full of piss and vinegar heading
into this game wanting a little bit of revenge.
Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
I like the Rams getting it done on the road.
Give me La minus ten.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
Packers and Bears.
Speaker 5 (01:15:42):
Now, the line movement in this game has been fascinating
because at one point it was green Bay minus a
point and a half, and then it was the Bears
minus one and a half, and then it was green
Bay minus a point or minus a point and a half.
And now you've got green Bay minus two and a
half heading into this game. And I'm gonna take the points.
I've got the Bears plus two and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
It's at home.
Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
I think they're healthier.
Speaker 5 (01:16:07):
I think they're going to get back to run in
the football like they had, control the clock a little bit,
keep their defense off the field. Who's been exposed over
the past couple of weeks. Give me Chicago at home.
Bills and Jaguars. This is the most difficult one to pick,
the most difficult one because I do believe that the
Jacksonville Jaguars, who are a one and a half point
(01:16:28):
favorite at home it seems like a funny line. Jacksonville
has been maybe the best team in the NFL down
the stretch if we're being honest here, Offensively, defensively, Jacksonville
has been one of the better teams in the league
to pass month and a half, maybe two months. And
for some reason, they're just a slight favorite at home
over the Bills. And you know how I feel about Buffalo.
(01:16:51):
I mean, they were on hard knocks. What are the
chances they're going to make a deep run. But this
feels like a funny line to me. And if I'm
looking at it and I see who's the best player
on the field, and I know that it's Josh Allen,
I'm gonna ride him in this spot. I'm not crazy
about it, but I'm getting a point and a half.
Give me the Bills on the road forty nine ers
(01:17:12):
at Eagles. Oh, I love Philly. Philly minus five and
a half, that's the pick. I think San Francisco got
exposed and I think they got bullied and beat up
by the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (01:17:21):
I don't think they're going to be the same.
Speaker 5 (01:17:23):
I think Philadelphia is the most underrated defending Super Bowl
champion I've maybe ever heard of. They're a really good
defense offensively, I get it. But I think a lot
of that stuff we've seen play out in the postseason,
and I think the Eagles set a tone.
Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
I like Philly minus five and a.
Speaker 1 (01:17:38):
Half, Chargers and Patriots.
Speaker 5 (01:17:43):
Look, I'm not crazy about betting on the Chargers, but
I'm getting three and a half points, and I'm getting
three and a half points against a quarterback who's never
played in a game like this before, in Drake May.
I will take the Chargers here. I do believe New
England wins this game, but I think the Chargers keep
it close. They're beat up. I'll take my chances with
Justin Herbert in this spot. Texans, it's Steelers. I'm gonna
(01:18:06):
go Houston. They're a three point favorite. It's on the road,
but I think the storybook ending of Aaron Rodgers ends
on Monday Night. I like the Texans minus three on
the road. And that is your wild Card weekend edition
of Knox Locks.
Speaker 1 (01:18:21):
Knoxlocks.
Speaker 5 (01:18:23):
Thanks Debris, thanks to Chris, thanks to Isaac, and thanks
for everybody who listened here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
We're back next Saturday.
Speaker 1 (01:18:31):
