(00:23):
I feel like we're getting serious today, Rich. It's week
fifteen in the NFL. Several teams will have opportunities to
clinch a playoff position. This morning we have eight games
a little different schedule today. We actually have five afternoon games.
Usually there's like three terrific Sunday night battle Bills on
the road against the Steelers. Of course, already the Ravens
(00:45):
have got their win over the Jets in their bank.
With that Thursday win, a couple of games that were
definitely focused on today. One of them will be the
Bears at the Packers. Can the Bears stay alive in
the playoff chase? And then the game of the morning
is the Texans and the Titans. Is Ryan Tannehill for real?
This is the biggest story right now going the NFL.
(01:07):
Along with Lamar Jackson, Tannehill leads the NFL in passing efficiency.
There six and one since he took over, they won
four in a row, and the Titans and the Texans
will play two of the next three weeks to decide
who wins that AFC South. Yeah, Ryan Tannehill is really
is regular season real? And uh, as we know, this
(01:28):
is when the tough gets going. And so if he's
gonna be one of the you know, I guess one
of the lucky few who can sort of ascend later
in his career, we're going to see. We're gonna need
to see the push start right now. Because Bill Belichick
when I was playing with the Patriots, one of the
things Coach Belichick used to tell us is the preseason
(01:50):
has its own tempo. The regular season start has its
own tempo, and right around Thanksgiving time it really turns
on and it becomes a different speed. And then the
playoffs it jumps up even further. So there's about four
tempo times in the NFL where things really pick up.
And around week fifteen, when you start to smell the
(02:11):
postseason games start mattering. A lot more people are eliminated
where they win the visions, where they secure home field advantage.
We're gonna find out a lot about Ryan Tannehill here
in the next couple of days, the next couple of weeks.
Now we get the pleasure of sitting here in our
comfy Fox Sports radio studios, but we get to watch
some weather today, like snow in Kansas City. Look at
(02:33):
that game, Chief SoC and the Broncos out there. So
it's definitely December, mid December. You see the announcers are
all bundled up for some cold games out there. So
a very exciting day. Indeed, one game obviously will also
be watching. You figure it. It was not a game
to watch, but it is Patriots and Bengals and Fox Sports.
(02:56):
Jay Glazer gotta found the video and it has been released.
It was an exclusive of Fox Sports. Again, Jay Glazer
just dominates everybody. He got ahold of it. They aired
some of it today and it doesn't look good at all.
I mean, you've talked about this, Rich and you know
you played for the Patriot organization. You know, why would
(03:16):
they be videotaping the Bengals. Well, it wasn't just videotaping
the Bengals. It's videotaping a new coach and Zach Taylor.
They keep a catalog on everybody. But this video that
was found and released by Jay Glazer aired on Fox
Sports today, there is no question it is a spy video.
It is just right there. They're checking out everything, and
(03:38):
they're holding it for seven or eight minutes. And as
you explained to what you know, the way the Patriots
have dominated for two decades, no stone left unturned. They
get a catalog on everybody. You have a new coach,
there's Zach Taylor. Okay, the Bengal suck this year, maybe
they won't a year from now. But you you create
a catalog on everybody you play, uh, and this could
(04:01):
be This could be real serious right now for the Patriots.
So there's no question about it. Look, the only thing
I said that I can't confirm if there's any malfeasance here.
I mean, based off of what we've now have as
part of public record, it doesn't look good for the Patriots.
But I can tell you from being in that organization,
they want to know what everybody's doing. Okay, just because
(04:23):
of the Cincinnati Bengals in their win list, this is
an AFC opponent. How many times have we seen turnarounds?
Kansas City was a laughing stock before Andy Reich showed up.
Guess what, they're not a laughing stock anymore, and they
haven't been for the past, but you know, beyond five years,
it's just been a playoff year after playoff years. So
trust me, it can be that quick with Cincinnati too.
(04:44):
And if you are as diligent as the Patriots are
and have been over the time they've been winning so
many games, Uh, what you want is as much information
as you can get. The unfortunate reality here is if
you are cataloging a sideline, uh coach where he's calling
in the defensive formations, or if you have an offensive
(05:05):
coordinator using hand signals, or you're taking tight shots from
the press box of an opponent's sideline, not good. Not good.
You're not allowed to do it. It's strictly written in
the by laws of the NFL. So this was supposedly
just like you know, behind the scenes piece on the
Patriots and everything else, and you could get away with
a quick shot of the sideline. But when you when
(05:27):
you literally just focus the camera there for six, seven,
eight minutes and things are happening on that sideline, doesn't
look good. So we'll keep our eye on that one
Patriots on the Bengals. Course, the Patriots right now, uh,
you know, coming out their latest loss there there are
so many rumors rolling with the Patriots at this point,
certainly about the future Tom Brady. We're gonna get to
that a little bit later on. So again we're watching
(05:49):
the Texans and the Titans. Uh. You know. One of
the big reasons that Tannehill has been so successful is
that he's got currently the best running back in the league.
And Derrick Henry, I mean, Derek Ry is just a
beast and uh, you know when they play the Raiders
last week and John Gridden was asked about Derrick Henry goes, well,
here's the thing. Uh, he weighs to fifty, he runs
(06:10):
a legit four five, and he never gets tired. You remember,
early on his Titans career, a lot of people thought
he was sort of splitting time with Murray and is
he is he going to be a Heisman bust? I
mean what every year he gets better and right now
he is currently right now the biggest thread at running
back in this league. Yeah, I mean averaging six yards
(06:31):
of Kerry right now. What a difference between the body
types of he and say Christian McCaffrey. I mean, you
look at fifty, you look at Derrick Henry, looks like
he could be a middle linebacker. He's a linebacker size.
And and when you look at Christian McCaffrey, he's like
almost a scatback. They were worried about him so much
(06:51):
as a running back holding up in the league, but
he was so talented as a pass catcher they thought
he might be a first rounder to a certain team
as a slot received her. But he has shined in
Carolina and he stayed healthy through it all. And Derrick Henry,
like you've talked about, it was a slow start. It
was sort of a slow to warm NFL career. But
here we are staring at greatness and it really it
(07:15):
really started taking a hold at the end at the
conclusion of the Titan season last year, he exploded and
it hasn't slowed down since. Alright, the Patriots are on
the board, they're inside information apparently working against the Bengals.
We have a touchdown early on right now. We also
it's a new week in the NFL. We have a
(07:37):
Jamis Winston interception on the opening drive. I think that's
twenty two on the year. That is forgetting how many
opening drives has he thrown an interception consecutive weeks. Look,
it's just it's one of those things, and it's fair criticism.
I'm not piling on a guy who's obviously had a
(07:59):
very up and down, tumultuous career to start his career.
But five years, we have a long survey here, we
have longitudinal data on Winston. He is not careful with
the football, and so if this continues, I mean, every interception,
every single interception, affects his boy. But he bounces back.
(08:20):
The one thing about Winston and we saw it last
week and he had a huge week last week, bouncing
back from his early problems. We have a Titans interception
in the end zone. Deshaun Watson firing vicarl with the
interception for the Titans. So the Texans were on the move,
but an interception the end zone will give the ball
back to the Tennessee Titans. By the way, Tom Brady
(08:41):
with twenty three touchdown pass to James White, White holding
film in his hand of the Cincinnati defense as he
ran that route, so apparently they knew everything. Um Seahawks
are on the board touchdown against the Panthers, Seahawks, of course,
trying to rebound after that disappointing lost the Ams. They
looked awful in that game. Uh. Sixteen yard touchdown run
(09:04):
for Chris Carson gives the Seahawks an early lead on
the road against the Panthers team that, of course is
playing out the string. By the way, speaking of the
Panthers right now, of course they fired uh Rivera as
their coach. Um. But you know, everyone was talking about
Mr Kyle Allen and whether or not he was the
quarterback of the future. Uh And things look good from
(09:26):
for a while, but it's not looking so good the
last few weeks. What is Carolina gonna do? I mean,
are they saying goodbye to Cam Newton? Are they gonna
handleball to Kyle Allen? Of course, A lot of it
I think depends on who their next coach is going
to be. Uh yeah, I think you have options, which
is a great thing in the NFL when especially at
(09:46):
the most important position in the NFL. Kyle Allen has
really played well, uh filling in for Kim Newton. This
is a loaded draft as for far as quarterback prospects,
I think there's gonna be a lot of later round
draft picks, second, third, fourth, who actually end up handing
out in the NFL. Coming out of this year's draft,
it feels like a very deep draft. It feels like
(10:07):
offensive coordination coordinators for the first time in the history
of the NFL are truly starting to embrace the idea
of a dual threat quarterback. Yeah, but Kyle Allen's lost
five straight games. He's lost six of his last seven.
So after that four game winning streak when things look
so good for Kyle Allen, things have gone south quickly. No,
(10:28):
there's no, there's no question about it. But again there's potential, right.
I mean, we look at Daniel Jones with the New
York Giants in a very similar situation. Uh, you know,
And granted, Kyle Allen is in a rookie but he's
a young quarterback and we're going to give him the
benefit of the doubt because there's been moments where he's
absolutely shined and same could be said about Allen and Carolina. Look,
(10:48):
when you have Newton waiting in the wings, potentially being healthy,
Allen with some good film out there, and again, a
loaded quarterback draft coming up this offseason, I think the
Carolina Panthers are sitting in a good position because they
have a defense that has typically been strong. They have
an offensive line in front of their quarterback who's been good.
(11:09):
They never running back who's been incredible, so their quarterback away.
It feels like the Carolina Panthers are. It is cold
and green Bay. Yeah, I mean, there's one thing about snow,
but what's going on in Green Bay at Lambeo. Man,
this is looks like ice Bowl right there. Kansas City
in Denver. All right, we got a lot of things
happening right now, very cold December day with some huge
(11:32):
games with a lot of playoff implications on the line.
Where in the guy go? Fox Sports Radio Studios, all right,
just kick back. We're gonna give you all the information
we know for many of your fantasy teams. It's playoff week,
so we got all the stats for you, We got
all the scores. We will keep you up to a
Fox Sports red Zone Radio continues coming up next light
to let backgod off. Grady's wide again, but that element
(11:53):
will join them in the backfood in motion a fake
to him. Brady screens at left for James White. Actually's
gotta be the defender of the block from counting across
the past, the fifteen to the five white into the
end zone touchdown, Patriots five the sports sub and the
Patriots radio right there, Patriots with the early seven o thingly,
(12:14):
but the Bengals have tied it up. That's right, the Bengals.
How about if the Bengals win today? Would that be unbelievable?
Uh so Dalton the carter right there, eight yard touchdown
and it is seven seven. Hey, what do you want
to hear something amazing? Discover matches all the cash back

What are you waiting for? Learn more at discover dot
com slash cash back match. Alright, so early on, uh
the seven seventy. I don't think anyone envisioned that the
Patriots and the Bengals would be a shootout. But seven
(12:57):
seven also we have are missed extra point? Didn't take long?
Uh Seattle Mr extra point on their opening touchdown hit
the right upright Myers. So we got that out of
the way as well. And so the Titans what they
did with that Kenny Vecaro turnover. He caught an interception
in the end zone and the Titans were able to
(13:20):
turn around and get to the you know, the plus
fifty area, kind of the fringe area. H suck up
lined up for a forty five yard field field goal
and it was blocked. So suck up for the for
the Tennessee Titans continues to after a rough season, and
they could not make points at a great interception for
(13:41):
the Titans. So we're still scoreless in that game between
the Texans and Tennessee. Al Right, let's continue our barrage
of scoring today in the NFL. Second down and four
Russ hands off the Carson who bounces it back outside,
got running room, fifty touch back inst five gets the
ball across, touchdown. Say bos what an opening drive for
(14:02):
the Seahawks. A sixteen yard run caps it off by
Chris Carson, who again patiently outside out runs one man
and then runs to the corner. Pylon sticks that ball
across and the Seahawks are on the board. Six nothing alright,
so Seahawks Radio network right there and again Carson off
to a hot start. Six carries forty nine yards and
(14:23):
that a touchdown. By the way, speaking of a hot
start right now. In that Bengals game, they already have
sixty seven yards rushing in the game halfway through the
first quarter. Apparently New England has no run defense, mixing
forty three yards and five carries. Bernard twenty four yards
on three carries, so they're averaging eight yards a pop.
(14:43):
And it looks like we have a turnover. In the
Green Bay Packers game, Bears recovered a move hunt and
that was a absolute shot that the returner took. So
it's gonna be Bears ball uh deep in Green Bay territory,
all right. Eagles right now, they are, of course, in
a must win situation, trying to come out on top
(15:05):
in the NFC East. They have a cream puff schedule
according to everyone, the advantage of, of of course, coming in
the day tied with Dallas. They will host Dallas next week.
But they're knocking on the door. They are now facing
a fourth and goal. And by the way, you mentioned
earlier about Jamis Winston's throwing an interception. Since then, he's
six for six for a hundred yards. He just threw
(15:26):
a touchdown pass and the Buccaneers have taken a seven
nothing lead early against the Lions. So this has been
a pattern. Every week. He throws an interception on the
first drive, comes right back, has a perfect drive, touchdown.
Buccaneers hot and cold all day long, and that's probably
going to be the story in this New England game.
It's been no different. Do we have the Bengals touchdown,
(15:46):
we have the Buccaneers touchdown? Which what are we going
have them both? Let's play them all. It is first
out ten from the play, actual fake rolling past, all
the aids, all receiver, all but called touchdocks, have a bye,
Prasha Terraman not a perfect throw, fat follow at all
from Jamis Winston. All right, Nanny eight rock and the
Buccanteers radio network. So he hasn't missed the past yet.
(16:09):
One to the other team, six to his own team,
six and seven start a hunter one yards so far
touchdown to pick for Jamis Winston. Give us more, Sam,
give us more. Dalton catches a shotgun snap Cox the
y brost my boy that spends away from a defender
and runs into the end zone for a Bengals touched down.
That's Sethan Carter, I beg your pardon, Yeah, well okay,
(16:31):
Bengals Radio network. I always love color guys to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's her analysis. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. Plenty of drops
there I can get from you, Steve. They did call
a penalty on the Bears on that muffed punt. It
was for catcher kick catch interference. Haven't heard that one before.
So the Packers had the ball back inside the forty yards. Yeah,
(16:51):
you have to award the returner a yard window. They
called the halo rule, and so if you're within that
halo around the returners their safe space, uh, you get
dimmed with the penalty. So that's the reason why Green
Bay retains possession. Patrick Mahomes forty one yard touchdown past
the Tyreek Hill. However, Kansas City, instead of kicking the
(17:12):
extra point, decided to go for two and did not
get it. Mahomes off to perfect STORRT three for three
sixty four yards and that touchdown six nothing Kansas City there.
So we had a lot of scoring going up very earlier.
And I would keep your eye on that game because
while a lot of people are counting out, you know
this as even a competition, the Chiefs are rolling right now,
coming off a win against the Patriots. The Broncos of
(17:34):
late I played some nice football with Drew lock a
little bit of inspiration from the rookie starter. Uh. You know, look,
you're gonna you're gonna get some great games. You're gonna
get some tough games for any rookie. But um, I'm
interested to see how he responds on the road in
Kansas City. Uh. That could end up becoming one of
those games that gets a little tighter down the stretch
(17:57):
than the Chiefs really wanted to. Al Right, the Eagles
settled for a field goal to take a three nothing
lead on the road against the Redskins. Of course, the
big story of the Redskins right now is the continuing
evaluation of Dwayne Askins, whether or not he is a
franchise quarterback or should they go back uh into the
draft next year and maybe look at another quarterback. He's
(18:19):
off to a good start for four thirty one yards
winz for Philadelphia, five and nine sixty two yards so
far for uh the Eagles. Now, later on we got
some really interesting games. The Rams are favored on the
road against the Cowboys. Can the Cowboys right the ship?
I mean, if they lose this game to the Rams
and the Rams our favorite Rams coming on up, that
(18:41):
big win against Seattle. They seem to be back on
track right now. Then Dallas obviously could be a limited
the following week, uh potentially when they play the Eagles.
And just there are so many wild rumors floating right
now about one quarterback and his name is Tom Brady.
We talked about a couple of these during the week. Rich.
(19:02):
One of them is that he and Josh McDaniels are
a package deal to go to the Dallas Cowboys, which
on the surface makes no sense. I mean, you have
Dak Prescott. Are you're gonna turn the page on Dak
for a forty three year old quarterback to get Josh McDaniels.
Let me, let me give you a scenario where that
works out for the Cowboys, and then I'll give you
(19:22):
the opposite scenario. So the scenario where it works out
for the Cowboys is you bringing Tom Brady, but you
also draft a quarterback farahe High, you could trade up
to get whoever you want in this year's draft, and
then you have ultimately the best quarterback who's ever played
the game helping coach along with your future head coach
who has one of the greatest offensive minds in the NFL.
(19:47):
Adams Rodgers is incredible. That was a perfect throw, but
so is Tom Brady, and he has been over the
course of his career. So now he would have a
lot more talent in Dells. I mean, look at that
off pensive line Ski Yeah, no, there's no question about them.
There's certainly the offensive line. An aging quarterback would do
(20:10):
well in Dallas. The deal is this, you would have
a package deal with McDaniels. You'd have a quarterback to
help groom his successor. And then he retires. Well, what
happens to Dak Prescott? You ship him off to the Patriots.
I mean, the truth be told. You haven't extended him yet.
So I mean, do you let him go as a
free agent. I mean, now you're not chipping him off anywhere.
(20:32):
He's writing his check with whatever team he would. It
would be such an odd situation to see a quarterback
reach free agency after his rookie year having the success
that Doac has had in Dallas. Here's the other side
of the coin. Um, tom Brady and and Josh McDaniels
leave the coupe and you realize, you realize that Belichick
(20:53):
was the reason. It was a driving force behind the success.
You find out whether he was. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
That's the other side of the coin is there's exposure
and and the film is ruined forever as far as
Tom Brady's concerned, because everybody will will say that Belichick
was the reason for his success. Now, I mean, age
(21:15):
is the biggest factor here, but that's how it will
be remembered. Alright, the Redskins are on the board, touchdown,
seventy five yard bomb Haskins to mclaura and Haskins is
I mean is off to an UNBELIEVI will start five
for five, six yards and a touchdown. So the Eagles
they just, I mean, this NFC East is a mockery.
Can you imagine if the Eagles lose today of the Redskins?
(21:39):
All right, let's I mean nobody, nobody wants to win
that division, and whatever team does win the division amazingly
gets a home playoff game. But that's a whole another story.
Where in the guy go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Let's
find out what's trending right now. Ralph Irvin is in
the house, Ralphie, how are you man doing great? And
you talk about Dwayne hask Is to Terry McLaurin. Well,
(22:01):
it sounds a little bit like at the pass Haskins
over the middle call Terry McLaren, clarent breaks the packle
at the fifty, the claren at the farty, theclarative, Terry McClaren,
all the way for all let's gets touched down. Oh
my goodness. Redskins Radio Network with the call, as Washington
does have that seven three lead over Philadelphia on eleven
(22:22):
to play in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Seattle having a
day in Carolina, lck is ticking down. Russ has him
in the shot gun waiting for the snap. Gets it now,
He's gonna throw back, shoulder over the top, reaching up
that can't make the catch, touchdown Seahawks reaching up over
a defender in the pack of the zone. Seahawks Radio
(22:42):
Network with the call. Seattle leading at Carolina thirteen nothing,
five twenty two to play in the first quarter. In
New England and Cincinnati, they're tied at seven, three and
a half to go in the first Kansas City up
six nothing in the snow over Denver three sixteen to
play in the first quarter. There Miami the New York Giants,
they are scoreless to eight teen to play in the
(23:02):
first in Houston and Tennessee remains scoreless four oh six
to play in the first quarter. Online car shopping can
be confusing. Not anymore with true price from true Car
and I can know the exact price will pay for
your next car, So as a true car to enjoy
the more confident car buying experience. Tampa Bay shutting out
Detroit seven nothing, five or six to play in the
first quarter. There and yeah, you guys talked about it.
(23:24):
Green Bay hosting the Chicago Bears. Aaron Rodgers twenty five yard,
twenty nine yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams. They have
a seven nothing lead over the Bears four thirty eight
to play in the first quarters. We sent it back
to Steve Hartman and rich Ward Berger. All right, Ralph,
thanks so much. We are coming alive in the getic
Fox Sports Radio City is easy to say fifteen per
(23:45):
cent a mourning car insurance with Geico, go to Gotta
dot com a call eight for seven otto. The only
hard part figuring out which way is easier. It's always
interesting to see which teams have mailed it in. Apparently
the Panthers are one of them. Down thirteen not the
early of the Seahawks total yards on this game. Seahawks
won sixty Carolina seven. UM. So the Panthers, who you know,
(24:07):
seem to be going really well, you know, Cam Newton
won down. They got onto a winning streak four in
a row, five out of six. Now they've lost five
straight games. They're in a complete freefall. They've given up
without their coach, Ron Rivera uh, and they are mailing
it in, which really makes it difficult not only for
you know, trying to predict the outcomes of these games,
but also as we're in playoff mode right now for
your fantasy football teams. You know which guys are you know,
(24:30):
going to show up, which teams are playing you know
which guys are not. Uh. You've been on both ends
of this. I mean, you know, you were obviously with
the Patriots a lot of big games in the month
of December. You're also on teams like Arizona where you're
literally playing out the string almost from September on. Um.
I mean, what what is that like? I mean or
even going against teams like when you were the Patriots,
(24:51):
you know, going against the team that basically you know,
you know, already making their vacation plans. Well, it's a
struggle when you're on a winning team because those can
be speed bumps on your way to having a great
success as far as your season goes, or or you know,
potentially just a really tough week whatever it ends up
boiling down to being um. You know, it's it's a
struggle when you're on that side of it, but then
(25:13):
when you're in the middle of it, which I was,
Like you mentioned the eleven season with Arizona Cardinals or
twelve season. We were five and eleven football team. We
went on a stretch of games where we lost nine straight.
We were almost a double digit, uh losing streak, and
we finally broke it late in the year and it
was just brutal. I remember, you know, everybody knew what
(25:36):
was going to be the fate of our head coach,
Kim wizzen Hunt. He was gonna be let go at
the conclusion of the season, and it sort of felt listless.
It felt like there was no real direction. Surreal. I mean, obviously,
you played on good teams in high school. You're at
Penn State, you had four straight bull seasons there. You
go to the Patriots all of a sudden, You're like,
(25:56):
what the hell is this? Yeah, and I mean for
a portion of the season, I was on the injured
reserve after starting some games at the Garden Center for
the Cardinals that year. Did did it felt surreal? It
felt absolutely surreal? It was it was. I would say
this The problem the Cowboys are facing is it is
very difficult to for anybody to encourage anybody at that
(26:19):
level when everybody knows that nobody could end up being
in that that building come next season because it could
be a complete regime change. Alright, the Bengals on the
drive against the Patriots. However, the Patriots have stopped and
they're facing a fourth and eight right now. So the
Bengals looking to get a field goal to take the
lead against the Patriots. I don't know, man, something's going
(26:43):
on with this Patriot team. Well, one of the problems
is they've been struggling offensively. Their defense obviously at times
has been historic this year. But right now, the Bengals
will attempt a thirty four yard field goal to take
a ten seven lead. Meanwhile, this is the Packers getting
on the board. Snapped, the Rogers looking down field locks
(27:03):
but outside DeVante's got it to the fire the Techsta
what a throw, what a catch, DeVante Adams twenty nine yards.
They beat Fuster straight out of the slot. Packers Radio
network right there, So Packers with the seven nothing lead,
and of course the Packers right now, it's not just
(27:25):
about making the playoffs, it's about looking for first round by.
So if you look at the NFC right now, Rich obviously,
after the huge win for the forty Niners at New
Orleans their city and eleven and two, Packers and Saints
at ten and three, Seattle also at tennants three after
the lost last week to the Rams, they're looking pretty
good today. But you know, there's there's a lot to
(27:46):
be said about getting a first round by. And right
now the Packers are the two seat over the Saints,
and if they can win out obviously that would give
them a first round by and give him a great
advantage in the postseason. Well, if you trust when you
know what you need when you're in Green Bay and
it's December, you need a great outdoor, foul weather or
cold weather quarterback. And Aaron Rodgers is that he is
(28:09):
eighteen and three career at home lambeau Field. Over the
course of his career. In December, he has frown forty
seven touchdown passes and only three interceptions in the month
of December at home. This guy is just incredible, and
he's incredible late in this season when the elements typically
affect quarterbacks. So if we're just looking at this, I
(28:29):
realized it's the first quarter and they have a seven
point cushion right now. But if we're just looking at
the quarterbacks, True Bisky versus Aaron Rodgers in Lambeau in December,
this is gonna be a Packers victory. It should be
a Packer of victory today. And of course the Bears
at seven and six was still a very very outside
shot of trying to make the playoffs. But they need
(28:50):
to not only win out, they need a lot of
help along the way. By the way, I love this
about True Bisky. Five for five eighteen yards. Right, Yeah,
that won't change. Listen, you can do a lot to
hide the blemishes of a quarterback. Traubinski coming out of college,
a lot of people were talking about his arm strength
and how you may be able to mold him into
(29:11):
something more than he is after having limited amount of
starts in college. The Bears front office fell in love.
They traded up to get him, and here's where he's limited.
Down field. He misses. He misses on deep throws a lot.
So you gotta keep the game close to the line
of scrimmage right in his you know his you know
that that that zone that he can complete in order
(29:33):
to have success. How about this, Uh we mentioned Winston's
throwing the interception on the opening drive. Uh we have
three and a half minutes ago on the first quarter,
He's nine of eleven a hundred and nineties six yards passing,
two touchdowns and an interception. Let's put it this way,
He's on pace for more than eight hundred yards passing.
Uh in this game. So after that opening interception, Winston
(29:55):
is absolutely going nuts right now. In fact, let's hear
the latest Tampas score play acts of fake Winston has time,
throws a deep past all the ends, bakes to catch
Toucht's have a pie Scotty Miller. With his first touchdown
grab wow, want to throw thirty three yards? Winston is
hotter than a match. His ninth completion here on the
first quarter, it's thirteen to nothing with three forty two
(30:18):
left ninety eight, Rock and the Buccaneers Radio network. Let
me ask this question, and this sounds odd, but who's
more of an exciting quarterback to watch? Is it Lamar
Jackson or it's Jamis Winston. And the reason why I
ask it is this. With Lamar Jackson, it's greatness every
game and it's rare that he has an off day.
But with Jamis Winston, it's such a mixed bag that
if you are a Buccaneers fan, and typically especially where
(30:40):
they are in their division, that's gonna be the only
ones who are really following this team closely enough. But
we watch every Buccaneers game virtually every Sunday. They're on
in the early slot. These are exciting games because he
is feast or famine at the quarterback position. Guys, they
come in with a three game winning streak and they're
off to a good start to make it four in
a row. Of ever last week thirty three or forty five,
(31:02):
four fifty six, four touchdowns, three picks and talking about
stuff in the staff box video game. But I mean
they're winning games now that won three in a row.
Winston still makes the occasional air, but he seems to
offset that with some big plays. You gotta believe that
this Bruce Arians marriage with Winston, and this is you know,
(31:23):
Areas essentially had retired from Arizona. What brought him back
was maybe the challenge of taking Winston, who obviously has talent,
and you know, harnessing that talent and making him a
good quarterback. And but for at six and seven, they're
well on the way against the hapless Lions to make
it seven and seven, So they seem to be heading
(31:43):
in the right direction. What's holding him back his mistakes.
So if we assume that it looks better than it
did last year because of the presence of Bruce Arians,
if he continues on a trend, I mean, last year
was the year of Mahomes, there's no question about it.
This year it's the year of Jackson, there is no
question about it. But with a strong defense and if
(32:04):
Winston can limit mistakes next season, is it conceivable that
it could be the year of Jamis Winston in his
six year in the NFL. It's it's at very least
in my brain conceivable. But but to your point, and
what we say every single week, he just makes too
many costly, uh mistakes for his team to really have
true success. Well again, three in a row looking four
(32:26):
in a row. Matt Patricia, by the way, does he
get a pass because of the injury to Stafford h
The Lions came in today three nine and one. They
getting blown out at home by Tampa Bay. Uh? Is
Patricia's safe for next year? Look? I mean it's the NFL,
so nobody is safe. I mean not for long? That
in National Football League it could also be an acronym
(32:47):
for not for long. Uh. Owners get impatient and so
I don't know what's happening in the you know, the
interior of Detroit, of the lines organization. If it were
up to me, I would never fire coach if I
thought he was worth his salt upon hiring, unless something
outrageous occurred during his tenure until i've very least I've
(33:08):
seen him through three complete years, because you have to
remember his draft picks, everything, the culture. How are you
expecting everything to take effects so soon? But if he
doesn't compete next year, if they grant him a third year,
then it's gonna be a big problem for Matt. End
of the first quarter, Titans in Texas. No score in
this game. Ryan Tannehill is just two of seven, but
(33:30):
for eighty two yards a sixt yard pass, twenty two
yard passed. Titans have the ball right now, no score
at the end of the first quarter. There all right,
we're in the getic Fox Sports Radio studios. You get
a sense. Week fifteen, we got weather is a big
factor today. It's cold, it's snowy, it's it's everything out there,
and we got some big afternoon games. So we got
(33:51):
a preview and clauding two neighbors that could really do
each other a really big favor. I'll tell you all
about it. Coming up next. McCaffrey and the Ackfield. Huge
play nothing Seattle, third down and goal from the one.
It's McCaffrey right up in there. A glorious righteous holiday
touchdown run w BT Panthers Radio Networks. So after spotting
(34:14):
the Seahawks at thirteen nothing lead the Panthers back thirteen
to seven. Meanwhile, oh my goodness, we have a Whitney
Merciless interception at the goal line. Texans pickoff Ryan Tannehill
and Merciless rumbles and bubbles and stubbles all the way
down to the five yard line. They're going in. They
(34:35):
haven't gone in yet. Great news, quick and easy way
for you to save money. Switched the guy go only
takes fifteen minutes to see if you can save fifteen
percent or more on your car insurance. Go to guy
good dot com see how much you could say. So
big turnover there, Texans was a touchdown that was a
Titans touchdown. There's no score in the game. That was
(34:57):
like James Harrison in the Super Bowl at halftime between
the Steelers and Cards. Well, let's see if they can
get in the end. Was that Delaney Walker? I think
on the run finally caught up to him all the
way down the field at the five yard line. You
had a miss tackle by Tannehill, miss tackle by an
offensive lineman, running, running, running, and finally knocked out of bounds.
(35:17):
Actually was at the Tennessee Titans twelve yard line. So
Deshaun Watson and company setting up going in low red zone.
And what a play that was by Whitney Mercy. Well,
that was a nice play, but that play on first
down wasn't so nice. Tackle. Who had the hit? Oh
you mean you mean the Texans linebacker that hit the guy?
(35:39):
I don't know, but it was it was a tight
end slant and it was I mean it was a shot.
I mean he hit him right, and the guy put
his shoulder pad on the ball and it popped right
into Whitney. Merciless hands a showdown of legendary quarterbacks today.
Uh in New Jersey. Uh Eli Manning versus Ryan Fitzpatrick.
It's all Fitzpatrick Dolphin an early seven notting lead. Giants
(36:02):
have a nine game losing streak. I think Pat Shermer's
job is safe. Touchdown tax Sans, touchdown Texans. And it
was Justin Reid who had hit. There's a flag on
the play though, there's a flag on the plus Kenny
Stills who caught that. I just want to credit Justin
Read with the hit on that Titans receiver that jarred
(36:25):
the ball into win. Defensive holding decline. So Houston gets
on the scoreboard first. Justin Read with the hit on
the tight end. Merciless with the interception off the tip
ball stumbles all the way down the field for about
eighty yards. Ball down at the twelve. Deshaun Watson takes
over with the offense and on second down a fade
(36:46):
route to Kenny Stills back of the end zone, and
the Texans are on the board first, and we have
a As I'm finishing saying that we have a title
locket touchdown Seahawks on the board. He is on my
fantasy team. It's playoff of wig Hello, Tyler Lockett. He
has been invaluable for my team this year. Okay, twenty
(37:06):
yard line and Russell Wilson takes a handoff coverage. They
had the defense fooled. They thought that he was going
to run a slant route. It was a double move
and he goes up the sideline unabated, catches that ball
all by himself, falls over the goal line with a
Panther's defensive back helplessly jogging to a trot, and so
(37:26):
Myers back on to attempt the extra point. Russell Wilson's
second touchdown of the first half. Is there anything he
can do to jar the MVP award away from when
he's throwing five touchdown passes every week, like Lamar Jackson is,
He's already set the NFL record for rushing yards by
a quarterback. It is over Lamar Jackson. He might be unanimous.
(37:48):
And I just saw a golden tap touchdown. By the way,
that was an impressive reception off of a bobble. He
regains possession of it and it looked like a six
yard score. U I'm Manning high fiving teammates on his
way down. They'll kick the ensuing Actually all right, so
Eli Manning in, Uh, well, we don't know how many
(38:09):
games he's got left, but touchdown for Eli right there,
tying that score seven all eight minutes ago in the half.
The Giants, trying to snap their nine game losing straight.
Kansas City added a field goal to their lead. They're
up nine nothing right now over the Denver Broncos. Coming
up of the next hour, Aaron Andrew is gonna check in.
She's at that Rams Dallas game, and we talk a
(38:31):
little bit here a couple of minutes before the top
of the hour, rich about the dynamic between the Rams
and the Chargers. The Chargers are hosting the Vikings. Vikings
a slight favorite here on the road, but remember what
happened when Green Bay came into the soccer stadium. They
laid an egg. Uh and the Rams obviously rooting hard
for their neighbor, the Chargers right now because they need help.
(38:52):
The Rams need a win today in Dallas. They need
the Chargers to get a victory against the Vikings to
tie that up for the last wild card spot in
the nf See now you asked me about what it's
like to be a winning team going in and playing
a losing team. This is the worst of the worst
for the Vikings because you're talking about an extremely prideful quarterbacks.
You're talking about a head coach who most likely will
(39:12):
retain his job following up a twelve and four regular
season and a playoff win last year. With the stinker
of a season they're having this year, this could be
one of those gotcha games for the Vikings all right.
By the way, the Bengals continue to lead the Patriots,
and if you believe in a little karma, Andy Dalton
just got a ball tipped at the line of scrimmage.
(39:35):
It landed in a Bengals receiver hand to get a
first down. So this whole spy gate to the investigation
if you missed it, Jay Glazer today on the Fox
pregame show he got ahold of the video tape and
it is an extended video tape that was done by
the Patriots of the Bengals sideline. Uh. And obviously this
(39:59):
is going to only escalate the investigation about another rules
violation allegedly against the Patriots. Organization. All right, we're in
the guy Go Fox Sports Radio Studios, Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio. This is where you need to be for
all your NFL coverage. We got a lot more coming
up next. Russ takes a shotgun. Snap, that's Todd looks
(40:21):

Seahawks radio network lead over Carolina eight minutes ago and
the half there we are coming alive from the guy

(40:44):
fifteen in the NFL, we got eight games going on
right now. Kansas City has just added a field goal
to up their lead to twelve nothing over Denver, and
the Washington Redskins are making life difficult for the Eagles
fourteen to ten lead over the Eagles. How about Dwayne
Haskins right now? Rich seven of eight hundred thirty yards,
(41:05):
two touchdowns, no picks. What the heck is going on there?
He's cleaned it up a lot since he was filling
in for Keenum earlier this season in a sub role.
Uh now that this is his team I'm starting to
see flashes of some brilliance. He hasn't you know, obviously
been great, but he also has been protecting the football
a lot better than he did to start his NFL career.
(41:28):
It was a rocky debut. But um, I don't know.
I look Kevin O'Connell, talented offensive play caller. He's the
offensive coordinator there in Washington. I played with him in
New England. As a matter of fact, he was a
second round draft pick, uh to the New England Patriots
and we overlapped sometime there. How about the Buccaneers story again,
look at Matt Patricia's like, hello, Tampa bay Is. How
(41:52):
about this Jamis Winston. He is on pace to break
again like it was last week. The single game passing
record fourteen of eighteen for two hundred and sixty six yards.
It comes in buckets with eight minutes to go in
the first half. The reason why it slows down is
because Bruce wait a second, he just saw a third
(42:14):
touchdown pass. He now has two hundred and ninety one
yards passing with eight minutes to go in the first half. Yeah, yeah,
so they're gonna lean on the ball in the second half. Obviously,
they'll run it out if they have. This lead to
a three score lead at this point. But yeah, Matt Patricia,
you know what's odd about this is Bruce Arians again,
(42:35):
some of the better defensive minds they faced this year.
Has it really had tremendous amounts of success offensively? Think
about that game against Wade Phillips and the Rams earlier
this season, a shootout it turned into. But the Buccaneers
win that one on the road there in Detroit. Uh,
this is a far trip for the Bucks and they're
beating up on this map. It's more than that. How
(42:56):
about this? You're ready for this? So again? Eight thirteen
to go in the first half, anyone nothing, Buccaneers totally
yards in this game. Tampa Bay three hundred and fourteen,
Detroit too, three hundred and fourteen to two at home? Again,
How does Matt Patricia survive that it's gonna be one
of those things where Detroit's either in love with them
(43:19):
and they're gonna hang on to him or they're gonna
move on again the NFL. You are judged by your
most recent record at home three hundred and fourteen total
yards in the NFL something like a half a dozen
coaches lose their job every single year. It's usually six.
Six is the number number. We'll we'll find out exactly
(43:42):
what the fates are. I was not hired like Matt Patricia.
I mean, when you're the defensive coordinator for the Patriots,
you're you're not. Really it's a Belichick defense. He lays
it down. You might have to do all the xsos
because he's got other things on his plate, but based
you're carrying out the defense set by Belichick. He called
(44:03):
the defense. Now, now, the play calling responsibility did shift
to Matt Patricia while he was there. Look there, I'm
not going to undermine what he's done in his past
because what he's doing in his present is unfortunate. But
this has been the path of many coaches who have
left New England. The only coach who's been under Belichick
(44:24):
who's in any success is Billy O'Brien with the Texans. Alright,
we got a touchdown for the Texans. Alright, still is
a second touchdown, so they up their lead thirteen nothing,
waiting for the extra point. Meanwhile, the Bears on the
move against the Packers. It is seven nothing. Packers freezing
(44:45):
Lamba today. Uh Mitchell Trubisky has got them on the move.
There at the twenty eight yard line of Green Bay
looking at even up this game, and you see the formation.
Do you see the formation option? Everyone's running this option now. So,
so this is what happened. When you have talent, and
and talent always wins, but when you have great offensive minds.
(45:07):
So the Ravens. The reason why they've been having so
much success is Lamar Jackson obviously, but also the way
they're using him. They're using this pistol, you know, reverse
wishbone formation where the quarterbacks in the shotgun and he's
flanked by two offensive players, whether it be tight end
or running back, and then he actually has a running
back behind him as well. And we saw Deshaun Watson
(45:28):
and the Texans use it, and now the Chicago Bears
are using it. This is a copycat league. If anybody
has success, you can trust me, that is gonna show
up in someone else's playbook. And that's exactly what happened.
People are ripping off Greg Roman and the offensive staff
in Baltimore because it's so successful. Watching yesterday, all time
record margin of victory in the Heisman Trophy, no shocker there,
(45:50):
Joe Burrow broke all the records as far as you know,
percentage of first place falls, total voice, margin of victory.
But I'm looking at Jalen Hurts. I mean, this is
a smart guy, graduated Alabama three years uh and then
obviously moved to Oklahoma and put up some, you know,
incredible numbers this year. Over seventy completion rate, running for
(46:11):
fifty five yards, eighteen touchdowns, thirty two touchdown passes. I mean,
I'm looking at his skill set saying, how how how
do you not find a spot for this guy playing
quarterback in the NFL? Yeah, yeah, you have to. I
mean he does. He does basically what Lamar Jackson did.
You have to I mean that's go look what Lamar
Jackson is doing in the NFL. But also Deshaun Watson
(46:34):
and also Patrick Mahomes to a certain extent, although he
was injured earlier this year, so they're more careful with him.
But Cam Newton did in his past, and Carson Wentz
is capable of doing, even though they're worried about his
injury proneeness as well. Dual threat quarterbacks are the vitamin
C to every offense. If you have a struggling offense
and whether it be offensive line or help on the
outside it receiver or running game that is you know,
(46:56):
sort of poor for whatever reason. Maybe you don't have
the horse in the back field. And an athletic dual
threat quarterback is the vitamin. See it makes all of
that look better. And so if you are looking for
a quick fix, like many teams are, find you the
most talented, most athletic quarterback in the draft and get
rolling next season. Boy, it is snowing right now in
(47:20):
Kansas City. I mean, but now it is just a
blanket over the field. The Chiefs lady and the Broncos
twelve nothing, but it is an absolute snow storm right now.
Yeah yeah, and Drew locked by the way, even though
they're trailing the Broncos to the sideline, all right, they
(47:42):
slide out inside the tan yard line. So where did
to college? Iowa? Guys, Sa Iowa, Iowa. By the way,
you know that Samurai has his tickets for the Holiday Bowl.
He already secured him done, look at you. You're gonna
join us down it's and diego his hawk eyes taking
(48:02):
out USC. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I will be there. I'm
gonna be excited to see some old friends. Actually, Brian Ferriends,
who's the offense? Are Ferns the offensive quarter Ferens? No,
Brian is the offensive course the offense. Brian Iowa Hawkeyes
was the tight ends. How did he get that? Well,
I the same way Brian Schottenheimer got Belichick or yeah, talent,
(48:30):
I would say, talent is how he got there. I
mean he's actually pretty good play callers. By the way,
New England has tied up the game with the Bengals
ten ten. Tom Brady's eight of eighteen eight of eighteen
against the Bengals defense the one in twelve Bengals defense
as New England continues to find uh difficult to find
(48:52):
any kind of offensive consistency right now. Uh well, just
wait till Tom Brady is wearing your charge uniform next year.
Boycott fully bott fully boycott. He hates him with a passion.
All right, we're in the guy. Go Fox Sports Radio Studios.
We got much more Fox Sports Red Zone Radio coming up.
But first let's head to the Vegas Strip. Hey sports fans,
(49:15):
this is insider John Anthony coming to you from the
Las Vegas Strip. My message phone is red Hot against
the Spread column. Message phone two one six sixty six fifteen.
That's one hundred two one six sixty six fifteen. My
information is in Today, I'm releasing three plays Cleveland at Arizona,
(49:35):
Minnesota at Los Angeles, and my top play, Buffalo at Pittsburgh.
That's three games, three locks, three and over the season
three hundred two on six sixty six fifteen. That's one
hundred two on six sixties six fifteen. Now let's take
a quick look at the matchups. Cleveland visits Arizona. Cleveland
(49:55):
has won four the last five, but those four wins
were all at home. Arizona is in the midst of
a six game losing streak. Five of those losses were
against playoff contenders. Something has to give in this one.
Vegas says this is a field goal game. Don't get
fulled by the number. My information says it's not gonna
be closed. I love this game. It's a lock. Lex
(50:17):
Minnesota heads west to Los Angeles. Minnesota looks like a
team that can make a run of the playoffs and
the division title is still within reach. Los Angeles has
struggled as of late, losing three out of their last four.
My information is confirmed. The total is a play in
this one and I love it another lock. Finally my
top player today Buffalo at Pittsburgh wild Card implications under
(50:39):
the lights in prime time. Buffalo needs one win in
their last three to clinch the playoffs spot. Pittsburgh is
one eight of their last ten and four in a
row at home. This play is huge for me. I
love it. It's my top move, the biggest game of
the week. It's a lot. There you have it. Three
huge plays on the message phone on Red Howe against
spread called need hundred two one six sixty six fifteen.
(51:03):
That's three games, three lacks three and over the season
three two one six sixty six fifteen. Or go to
Vegas scores and adds dot com. Lady, what do you
take both? I love that. It's week number fifteen in
the NFL. Got let's go and as the games go
(51:24):
down or go findal. I'm listen right here to all
the reaction on Fox Sports Radio. First and ten, Chiefs
of the Bronco forty one, Mahomes faking a hand off,
throwing a long coming near so Tyrekhel touchdown, Tansas City
burning the Broncos at forty one your corner pattern to
(51:48):
the near side and Tyreek Hill continues his assault on
the Broncos chief's radio network Chiefs leading the Broncos twelve
that three in an absolute snow blizzard in Kansas City
under two minutes to go in the first half of
their I want to hear something amazing. Discover matches all

a little more at discover dot com slash cash back match?
All right, very busy day here, week fifteen. Uh. In
the NFL, we've got to weather situations. We've got a
(52:33):
lot of teams that are looking to clinch playoffs spots.
Today Titans tried to fake punt a minute ago. They
were in the thirty seven yard Yeah. This, uh, this
is not going well. We were talking before. Is Tannehill
for real? Ryan Tannehill, who has been red hot by
the way over the last three games. His last three games,
he completed seventy eight percent, seventy three percent, and seventy
(52:54):
eight percent of his passes today seven of sixteen yards,
no touchdowns, one interception. Derrick Henry continues to do what
he does. He has twelve carries for fifty nine yards
in the first half, but the passing game other Titans
has been ineffective. Meanwhile, Deshaun Watson twelve one yards, two
touchdowns in a pick. Carlos Heide is forty six yards
(53:17):
rushing on eleven carries. This one is all Texans, leading
fourteen and nothing inside a minute ago on a half
and the Texans with the ball looking to add more
rich It looks like they're doing a nice job doubling
DeAndre Hopkins. They're playing, Uh, they're they're they're playing this
team the way they're supposed to play this team. But
the unfortunate reality is they've already let up two scores
(53:40):
and they've already made too many mistakes. When you turn
the ball over twice, Uh, the Texans will make you
pay because that offense is too good for them not to. Alright,
how about the Patriots tied all with the Bengals, and
the Bengals just sacked Brady hard and uh they will
now force the Patriots, I believe, into a field goal
(54:01):
situation with about thirty seconds to go, actually sixteen, They're
gonna let the clock run down right now to get
a field goal attempt on a fourth and fifteen right
before they have ten ten Patriots against the one and
twelve Bengals, and again the Patriots offense, and look at
this is the thing which we've been talking a lot about,
(54:21):
this whole future of the Patriots now that we have
the evidence out publicly about this videotaping of the Bengals
courtesy of j Glazer the Master Uh and I mentioned
this yesterday talking about what could the league do if
they find that the Patriots have violated rules again, which
(54:43):
is essentially we're talking about the integrity of the game.
Is it conceivable that they could lay down a suspension
on Bill Belichick the way they did Sean Payton where
he was suspended for an entire year for the bounty
gate situation. If they if they were to suspend Elicheck
for a year, think about the Domino's falling one. If
(55:04):
Belichick were suspended for that kind of a suspension, would
he accept it and try to come back or would
he just step away and say I'm gonna call it
a day. And if Belichick's God, how does that affect
the future? Tom Brady in New England. Look, you know,
here's the biggest problem for the Patriots right now. Uh,
And I'm going to sort of hold it to the end.
(55:24):
But bad news about a scandal, well that's tough. A picture,
like an actual photograph of a scandal or scandal item,
that's worse. A video, it's it's as bad as it gets.
This is the reason why Ray Rice receives such a
heavy handed punishment from the NFL with the incident in
(55:46):
the elevator against then his girlfriend became his fiancee afterward.
But when you are accused of domestic violence, that's bad.
When there's a photograph of the victim of your domestic violence,
well that's worse. But when there's video, it's just there's
no excuse and and you there there will be consequence
(56:09):
that that even may exceed expectation. And that's exactly what's
going on with the Patriots in this. And I'm not
comparing this domestic violence obviously and much uh worse uh
issue in the in the NFL and that they faced
over time. But as far as the dignity of the game,
(56:30):
as far as the rules and and having a clean
sport in terms of everybody following the same rule book.
This is as bad as it possibly could be. Belicheck
again denying I had no idea what was going on.
But that was what Sean Payton said about Greg Williams
in the bounty gate situation. I didn't know this was
going on, and yet he got suspended without me for
an entire year because at the time they were concerned
(56:51):
about the health of the players. This was a real timing.
Was bad for Sean Payton because they were trying to
send a message that the league is really out to
make sure that we are taking care of the players
health wise, and he paid the price with a year
long suspension no pay. But he's not, you know, pushing
seventy like Belichick is right now. The the audio of
that situation was the backbreaker. Yeah, it wasn't just the
(57:12):
news that bounty Gate was going on. We have Greg
Williams and I'm paraphrasing here on the record though, uh,
somebody recording his voice saying you kill the head, the
body dies, and he's talking about taking out a quarterback.
I mean, so it was unacceptable and it's it's against
the rules, it's against the greater good of trying to
(57:32):
protect these players, and so obviously a steep and harsh
penalty was enforced. It will be the same with the Patriots.
All right, let's think about this though. I mean again,
we were were speculating wildly here. Okay, but when Josh
McDaniels turned down the Indianapolis Colts job, remember what was
happening at that time. We were thinking that there was
(57:54):
a fallout between Bob Craft, Tom Brady, and Belichick, and
that the reason Josh McDaniels stay. We were talking about this,
rich is that you know, Belichick was gonna stay that
one year and that was gonna be They're gonna hand
it off to Josh McDaniels. Well, they end up winning
the Super Bowl, Belichick is still there, Josh McDaniels turning
down the Cold's job and maybe looking for greener pastures.
(58:16):
But if something happens with Belichick, the Patriots might decide, look,
we we got we gotta whole things together here. We're
gonna immediately put Josh McDaniels in there. And would you
put him in as an interim head coach for a year?
I mean again, we're speculating wildly, but the and then
and then then How does the Tom Brady future factor
into all of this? Is he more apt to stay
(58:36):
if Josh McDaniels becomes the head coach, If if Belichick says, okay, fine,
I'll serve my suspension, I'll be back, how does that
affect Tom Brady? I mean it just again, the dominoes
are gonna fall. But with this release of this video
today courtesy of Jay Glazer Fox Sports, as you say,
we now have physical evidence that proves that they were
(58:57):
doing what they're accused of doing. The the issue. The
issue here is everybody's uh cupable to a certain to
a greater or lesser degree. Now, the further you get
away from the top, of course, the less solely do
you are by this scandal. But I mean Josh McDaniels
was there, how much did he know? You know what
I mean? If the NFL runs an investigation, Uh, does
(59:20):
this affect his higher ability at all? I mean there's
going to be Look, it's not just gonna be Belichick
who suffers consequences here. Tom Brady's legacy is now stained,
uh in a worse way than than ever. Again, the
video is the worst part about this for the Patriots.
Had this just been news like it was last week
(59:41):
where apparently they were doing an in house documentary and
there was no video proof, then the world would have
kept on moving. And but this video is damning and
and so we we won't know. It would be mere
speculation and figure out. But I feel like the penalties
will be steep and heavy handed. All right, Patriots. They
get the field goals, so they thirteen ten and a
half against the one and twelve Cincinnati Bengals. Green Bay
(01:00:05):
goes in the half leading the Bears seven to three.
Deep freeze out there at Lambeau. Both offenses struggling in
that game. Kansas City right now nearing the half leading
Denver by a score of twelve to three. Miami ten
seven lead at the half against the Giants on the road,
Houston up fourteen nothing uh at Tennessee at half. That
one has been all Texans and the Redskins are making
(01:00:28):
life miserable again for the Eagles. I mean, Eagles can't
lose today can lead to the Redskins when they basically
control their own destiny again. The Eagles should be able
to win out. They will get the Cowboys at home
next week, but they can't stay out of their own way.
Carson Wentz is being outplayed by Dwayne Haskins. I keep
getting back to Carson Wentz, the guy that we saw
(01:00:51):
before he had that knee injury. We haven't seen him since.
The numbers say one thing, the eyeball test tells you
another thing when it comes to Carson Wentz. Yeah, I
I think he's and I I think it's intelligent if
they can make him into a pocket passer. Is trying
to morph into more of a pocket pass here now.
(01:01:12):
If he has that proficiency, if he's able to develop
that way, well good on them, and he will have
a longer career as a result of it. But it's
gonna look bad before it looks better. Uh. And this
season didn't look all bad, but there have been some
mighty struggles. And you know it's also it's it's easy
for us to all judge a quarterback based off of
(01:01:34):
a season, but they faced some injuries on the offensive
line and that's factory factored into Also, think about how
many times one of these receivers dropped a wide open
pass from Carson Wentz. Do does the record look better
if they hadn't? Uh? Does he look like a better
pass or if they hadn't a lot of factors go
into a quarterback having a rough season. Chiefs of adity
(01:01:56):
third field goal right as the half end. So they
go into a half leading Denver fifteen to three. Meanwhile,
Jamis Winston has thrown for over three hundred yards in
the first half on the road against the Lions. It
is all Buccaneers, blowing out the Lions by a score
of twenty one to three, and they try to add
(01:02:17):
more right now. So after throwing an interception on the
first series, Winston is now he's going for a lot more. Wow. Okay,
by the way, total yards in this game three hundred
and thirty three to fifty six. Not a good half
for the Detroit Lions. All right, we're in the guy
go Fox Sports Radio Studios. On the other side, Aaron Andrews.
(01:02:39):
She's gonna give us a preview of the upcoming game
between the Rams and the Cowboys. But let's find out
what's trending right now. Ralph Irvin jumps right back in. Well,
since you just delivered all the scores, I guess I'll
do the interview with her. I just wanted to update everybody.
That's my job. But you you go next level. Well,
we do have plenty of games at half. In fact,
everything's at the half except for Tampa Bay. In Detroit,
(01:03:01):
there's eleven seconds still to go at Ford Field. Tampa
Bay with a twenty one to three lead over the
Detroit Lions. New England does have a field goal lead
at Cincinnati thirteen ten at the break. Houston dominating Tennessee
at least on the scoreboard fourteen nothing the Texans up
at the intermission. Miami attend seven advantage over the New
(01:03:21):
York Giants as Eli Manning does well, I guess what
Eli Manning does, which is not win as much as
he loses. Kansas City has three field goals from Harrison Butcker.
They have a fifteen three le lead over Denver at
the intermission. In Seattle seven they lead Carolina at the break.
Green Bay is seven three advantage over Chicago, and Washington
(01:03:44):
fourteen ten over Philadelphia. Yeah, two touchdown passes on in
the day for Dwayne Haskins in this one. Great news
is a quick way you can say moneys which the
guy go go to guy go dot Common in fifteen minutes.
You can say fifteen cent or more on your car
insurance and there's no time left at Ford Field in Detroit.
They're running into the locker room. Tampa Bay three lead
(01:04:08):
over Detroit. As I sent it back to Steve Hartman
and Rich orn Berger. All right, well, thank you very
very much. We are coming alive from the Geico Fox
Sports Radio studios. Easy to say more on your car
insurance with Geico, Go to get Good dot com or
call seven Otto. The only hard part figuring out which
way is easy er we mentioned. We're gonna be joined
(01:04:29):
shortly by Aaron Andrews. She's gonna preview the game coming
up this afternoon between the Rams and the Cowboys. We
actually have five afternoon games, the Raiders final game ever
in Oakland. There's gonna be no return to Oakland after this.
They're gonna be in Vegas for a long long time
hosting the Jaguars. Uh. You played in Oakland, didn't you?
(01:04:53):
I certainly did. What was it like to play in
the black Hole? I have such mixed feelings about it.
I love I love the fans in the black Hole. Bengals,
by the way, Uh, they were shown in an earlier clip.
Never mind they're at halftime. It is Patriots over the Bengals.
Right now in Cincinnati. But back to your question about
the Oakland Raiders. When you're in the black hole, the
(01:05:16):
fans are great. I know a lot of people hate
the Oakland Raiders fan base because they're loud and their
brash and their raucius, but I love that environment. I
hated playing on the baseball diamond. The infield dirt was awful.
If this is a league that is going to glorify
itself as protecting players and allow players to play on
(01:05:37):
the infield of a professional baseball stadium or ballpark, it's
absolutely ridiculous. So I'm excited just from that standpoint that
you're you're You're not gonna have this living hypocrisy going
on every single week in the NFL or every single
home game in Oakland. Um. Although I feel for the
Oakland fans while the two l A teams around and
(01:06:00):
Chargers are struggling to sell tickets and PSLs for their
new stadium, which opens up tomorrow, that is not the
case in Vegas. The Raiders are just a runaway sell
out in Vegas. I was in Vegas recently and um,
I was taking an uber ride and I was talking
to the guy who lives in Vegas lives near the Strip,
and I said, so, what do you think this stadium
(01:06:22):
is gonna do to the Strip? He goes, He's like,
this to me is like the Arena was one thing
and the Golden Nights Coming was another. And he goes,
but this is gonna be he said, it's going to
magnetize this area. He goes. People already flood here because
of the gaming. He was like, but if you put
the NFL, he said, the largest corporate UH sports entity
(01:06:44):
we have in this country, a middle of the gaming
we have here. He goes, this is just He's like,
they've already sold out all the suites. Well, and and
here's the nightmare for the Rams and the Chargers. A
lot of l A Raider fans they're spending their money
going to Vegas. YEP. So it's a branding thing to
everything better. Here's what it should have happened, if you
(01:07:09):
can redo all of this, if you were the NFL,
instead of the Chargers being in l A with the Rams,
the Raiders should be there and Vegas should have been
the Chargers. If you're gonna have the Chargers leave San
Diego and by the way, uh, during a couple of
years ago. I had the Mayor of Vegas on the
(01:07:31):
show and she admitted her husband, who was the former
mayor of Vegas. They were forty years season ticket holders
of the Chargers. They wanted the Chargers, not the Raiders.
The argument to be had that, um, you know, the
you know, had had Dean Spano's, the owner of the Chargers,
continue to be a good soldier, he would have been
(01:07:52):
rewarded potentially with this, uh, this Vegas expansion. But Mark
Davis beat beat the NFL to it, frankly, and and
good on Davis if he wanted out of Oakland so
badly and he was motivated and he couldn't get any
upgrading that cesspool the Oakland Coliseum, that is an awful
venue as worst. But um, but again, look, you feel
(01:08:14):
terrible for the Oakland fans. You feel terrible for the
San Diego fans. Give us a little fanfair right now. Please, No,
it's time for the NFL out Fox focus well, Johnius
once again, she will be manning the sidelines there for
the Rams Cowboys game. Aaron Andrews is with us. Aaron,
(01:08:36):
before we get to this Rams team coming out that
big one against Seattle, where are we right now with
the Cowboys. I mean, they they control their own destiny,
but they just seem to be unraveling. What is your
read on where the Cowboys mindset is going into today's game.
I mean, if I had to read on that, I'd
go straight to Vega. But I've been with the Cowboys
(01:08:57):
the past couple of weeks. We've got him next week
in Philly. You, I gotta tell you, I mean, nobody
was as shocked as I was when we were um
on the sideline in Chicago and you saw the game
go well, you saw it start off well, and then
before and then it was like, well, there's a miscackle.
There's a miscackle the group. And I know I did
(01:09:18):
a report about this during the games. They just seemed shocked.
It was just what, Yeah, of course a couple of
you know, maybe an hour later you see Jason Witness
starting to go off and everything like that. But everyone
just seemed shocked that this was happening. I was just
talking to a couple of guys out on the field
and they were saying, the crazy part is we're still
in it. And I think that's just the unreal part
(01:09:40):
about the whole thing is a couple of guys were
saying to me, usually when you have this record and
at this time of year, you'd be out and they're not,
and guys are throwing up football is handing it off
to me right now? Is I'm trying to conduct this
very important interview there? Yeah? Yeah, Listen, when you look
at this team, and I'm I'm sure you've you've probably
(01:10:03):
felt this way yourself, it is hard to argue that
if it feels like it feels like at times there
are guys who aren't playing as hard as they should be. Uh,
there are times where it looks like guys are making
business decisions. Has that come up in production? Have you
spoken to the coaches about that? On the Dallas side?
(01:10:24):
What's the feeling in the building there? I think just
the feeling in the building it's just frustration. And because
if you look at this, you know, we did Raven
Jet Thursday night, right, and yes, they have an unbelievable
quarterback and they have good parts everywhere. But then when
you look at this Dallas team, they're freaking loading and
(01:10:45):
it's just they're stacked at every position, and it's just
how is this happening? How is this going on? Like
this um, I've got the shots. I think they're I'm
almost curious that I want to ask you, guys. I'm sorry, Aaron,
we're losing you right there. All right, we're trying to
reconnect with Aaron right now. She is going to be
on the sidelines for this Rams Cowboys game. All right,
(01:11:09):
Aaron Andrews is joining us right now, Aarona, I want
to get to the Rams for a moment here. A
couple of weeks ago when they got blown out, humiliated
by the Ravens, everyone's like it is over two weeks
later an incredibly dominant victory against the Seahawks. So I'll
ask the same question I ask you the Cowboys were
what is your evaluation of the mindset of this Rams
team right now? They said that loss is the best
(01:11:32):
thing for them. They really did. You know, Eric Weddle,
I think we've all seen his his comment in terms
of you know, it was embarrassing. Never been that embarrassed
that much of my career. Best thing for him. Their
offense has gotten going, got Todd Gurley going. You know,
it's interesting too if you look the numbers with Jalen
Ramsey and how much that he's helped out front seven
in terms of getting the quarterbacks stack numbers. They feel good,
(01:11:53):
they feel great. I mean they know if dew or die,
they can't screw up. They have to win. They have
to win out. They needed somehow, um, but yeah, they're
calling that Ravens blocks the best thing for them. Yeah.
What what is the Rims feeling defensively later in the season.
They began having more success early this year. They had
some really heavy scores against this defense. I mean the
(01:12:18):
Buccaneers game certainly is a shining example, but there were others,
uh and in losses. So what has happened? What has
transpired in the second half of the season to shore
things up defensively? Jalen Ramsey, I mean, that's what I
was just talking to Clay Matthews, Michael Brocker's about Jalen Ramsey.
It's helped them so much, it really has, you know,
(01:12:40):
and and and they were just saying, cue nothing against
the keep to leave or you know, Marcus Peters, because
they were phenomenal too. But you know, the fact is
that the front seven is able to get two quarterbacks.
He's allowing these offenses to second guests and then they're
able to get these sacks. It's helped out quite a bit.
Think to what three plus stacks in the last seven
(01:13:02):
games for this for this uh Rams defense here. Yeah,
they've been incredible up front. Aaron Donald's on an absolute
terror right now. Yeah, it's absolute terror. And Wade Phillips
actually said this week that, you know, while the numbers
aren't the same from what he had last year, he
still thinks he's playing better than he was last year
and definitely thinks he should be named defensive player again,
(01:13:24):
um for this year. He said, I know the guys
frustrated he doesn't have the numbers like he did, but
he would argue he's playing even better. Guy's double teams
pretty much every time. Well, Aaron, I tell you what,
trying to make a prediction on this game is going
to be difficult, no question about that. Uh just bottom line,
Because you have been covering the Cowboys quite a bit,
You've been around Jason Garrett for a long time. Does
(01:13:44):
he seem to have changed in his demeanor at all
with a spotlight on him with his job on the
line now, Not at all. We talked to him on
the phone yesterday and Jason is always top notch with us,
but look, it's hard. That's a distraction for everybody. Me
and I was just talking to Chris roshard To, who's
also his defense has been ripped quite a bit. But no,
(01:14:05):
I mean it's not a position. Obviously any of us
would want to be in people talking about our job
security day and day out. But um, he hasn't acted
any differently. And when you talk to the players, they
just said they do believe, which is why, again I
abuse this word frustrating a thousand times. They are so
frustrated because they do have great guys in this locker room.
(01:14:26):
They feel like they have a ton of great personality,
have good leadership, just not breaking the surface here. It's
not working out. And Doc said this week, we just
need one win. We need to figure out some sort
of momentum. We know the standing in terms. All right,
I believe we've lost there are any of there, Okay,
(01:14:47):
all right, well, alright, we lost connection with Aaron Andrews
out there. But I think we get a pretty good sense.
I mean, this is a really a hard game to
figure out. The Rams come in is about a point
to have favor on the road against the Cowboys because
they played so well. We could go against the Seattle. Obviously,
Dallas seems to be in a free fall, but we're
also talking about a Cowboys team that has the number
one offense in the league. Yeah. Look, you look at
(01:15:08):
their stats, and you look at what they've been able
to accomplish offensively this season, you would assume they're a
top four team in this league as far as their
record goes. And it couldn't be further from the truth.
They have stars on offense, they have stars from defense,
but it hasn't resulted in enough wins. All right, we're
in the Guy Go Fox Sports Radio Studios coming out.
We get to the second half of our morning games
(01:15:31):
and things are getting very interesting coming up next. Great news,
quick and easy way for you to save money. Switched
to get Go. It only takes fifteen minutes to see
if you can say fifteen percent a more Andy car insurance.
Go to geyga dot com and see how much you
could say me. While the Titans right now are trying
to get in the end zone. They had first and
goal at the one. Now they have fourth and goal
(01:15:51):
the one, and they refused to give the ball to
Derrick Henry. However, Ryan Tannehill has just walked it in. Yeah. Look,
when you have such a threat at running back and
everybody in the building knows that's who should get the football.
Defenses aren't dummies either, So from an offensive strategy, I
don't mind it. I I really don't. A naked bootleg,
(01:16:12):
you know, a play action pass, I'm okay with that.
I am fully okay with that. This time he had
a little help on the outside. They actually used one
of the backs to or excuse me, one of the
offensive lineman kind of scooted out and lent a seal
block on the backside to Ryan Tannehill, so he walks
in for the touchdown at the goal line. I didn't
want a note about Eli Manning after throwing an interception.
(01:16:35):
He has now thrown an interception to every team except
the Giants in his NFL career, so essentially he came
back to get that record and to bring his record
under five hundred. However, the Giants are leading fourteen to
ten and churse trying to and their nine game losing
straight in. Eli in this game twelve of eighteen hundred
(01:16:56):
seventy four yards, two touchdowns and two inner exceptions. Meanwhile,
on the other side of the world. You have Jamis
Winston in Detroit who has now set a franchise record
as far as touchdown throws. He's got twenty nine as
a Buccaneers four interceptions this year nine touchdowns twenty four interceptions. Uh.
(01:17:21):
First half he threw for over three hundred yards against
the Lions and Buccaneers are leading that game twenty one
to three. Kansas City is motoring along. Patrick Mahomes has
had a nice game to seventy five a touchdown note picks.
Some people have been wondering about their passing game the
last couple of weeks. You know, his numbers were down
(01:17:43):
a little bit. By the way, Travis Kelsey nine catches
on in twenty yards. Today Tyreek Hill has a couple
of touchdowns. Um, but it's just amazing to me. We
talked about Kansas City now. They beat the Ravens very
early on in the season. It was a shootout game
of Homes had some big numbers in that game. Obviously,
the Ravens are much better team than they are now.
(01:18:05):
When when you look at the a f C. When
you look at them, down or no two point conversion
is completed for the Chiefs. By the way they now
lead twenty three three over. Well, let me ask you this,
when we look at the a f C right now,
Ravens obviously sitting at top this league. Which a f
C team has the best chance to beat him? Would
it be New England? Would it be Kansas City? Who
(01:18:26):
would you say would have the best opportunity of beating
the Ravens and the a f C. I guess I
would say the Chiefs. And it's because if it were
a if it came down to a shootout, don't they
have the most firepower. I give you another sleeper though,
and this is one that doesn't get a ton of
love because they've been so streaky this season. Again, another
team capable, if need be, to win a shootout is
(01:18:50):
the Houston Texans. I mean DeShawn Watson and Billy O'Brien's
head coach. When he's calling plays like he was against
the Patriots, you see how special that offense can be
when the defense is playing well. The Houston Texans are
a dangerous team. They just have been so streaky this
season you don't feel like you can trust him. But
(01:19:10):
that's what it's gonna have to be to beat the Ravens.
You're gonna need an offense who can score with them.
I would agree with you on the Chiefs. I think
the Chiefs because of the Mahomes factor. I mean, we
know what he is capable of and if he gets
on a roll, I mean with the weapons that he has.
You know. The problem for the Chiefs this year, I
think defensively they're improved, which is insane much because they
(01:19:30):
were awful a year ago. But they got to get
a running game going. The running game is pretty much
been non existent and they can't lean completely on the
arm of Patrick Mahomes. All right, once again we have
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio rolling on this big Sunday.
It is week fifteen of the NFL. We got more
previews coming up of some of the afternoon games. We'll
(01:19:52):
obviously keep you up to date on everything going on today.
So for all your absolute best NFL coverage, keep it
right here on Fox Sports Radio. Tannahill play fake rolling nearside.
He can run it in there till on the foot.
(01:20:13):
W d f X one oh four point five Titans
Radio Network getting right back in that game against the Texans.
Texans leading this game by a score of fourteen seven. However,
Texans are threatening so we'll keep you updated on that.
We are coming alive from the Guy Go Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent a
more on your car insurance. Visit guy Good dot com
(01:20:35):
for a free rate quote. We mentioned that a number
of teams today are trying to punch their ticket into
the playoffs. One of them would be the Packers. They
have a commanding twenty one three lead over the Bears.
If the Bears lose, that is pretty much it for
them and only three points today for the Bears, Mitchell
Trobiski is thirteen and nine seven yards, no touchdowns and
(01:21:00):
an interception. They have no running game, only forty four
yards on the ground. So Bears a year ago twelve
and four. It looks like they will not make the
playoffs this year. Where are we with the Bears right now?
A year ago, Niggie was the NFL Coach of the
Year for their turnaround. Obviously, picking up Khalil Mack before
the season seemed to just spark that team onto a
(01:21:22):
great season. Trabinsky looked like he was good. Now He's
played pretty well over the last couple of weeks. So
do you just sort of right this year off saying, Hey,
you know, sometimes when you make a big leap up,
it's not uncommoned take maybe a step back for a year.
Do you think the Bears will be back in contention
in it's very conceivable. They had some injuries that people
(01:21:45):
aren't really talking about. They lost a guard for the
year up front. Uh. Certainly earlier in the season. I
think there was a commitment to the passing game that
confused a lot of people, uh watching Mitchell Robinsky struggle
to connect down field. So I think more it comes
down to if they get the run game going early
(01:22:06):
next season and they commit themselves two plays that are
within the grasp and within the wheelhouse of their still
young quarterback Mitchell Trobinsky, With that defense playing as well
as it has even this season, I really think that's
a team who could be on the mend with a
couple of quick fixes, either in the draft or just
(01:22:27):
in evaluating their personnel and who they have and what
their skills are at this level better. Alright, the Eagles
are on the move right now. They are trailing this
game to the Redskins. Critical game for the Eagles. They
just can't lose this game. They will be hosting the
Cowboys next week the Eagles just you know, and then
they closed the season on the road against the Giant,
(01:22:49):
So there's no question the schedule favors the Eagles currently
tied with the Cowboys in that laughable NFC East right
now at six and seven. Of course, this brings up
the point at that whether it's the Eagles of the
Cowboys that wins the NFC East, conceivably with a losing record,
it's possible seven and I might actually take that division. Um,
(01:23:10):
should that team be hosting a playoff game? Um? At
this point it would be against the Seattle Seahawks. Well, look,
I mean, even though you can cite a Chargers team
in recent history, you can cite a Seahawks team in
recent history having a losing record and hosting a playoff game.
The fact of the matter is, yeah, they should, because
(01:23:32):
they want their their division's championship or champion. I I
get it. It seems unfair to have a team that
is potentially well beyond double digit victories visiting a team
who has been astoundingly awful this season. Well, I mean
with the Chargers were an eight and eight team in
oh wait, they hosted a twelve and four Colts team
and they won the game. But seven and nine against
(01:23:56):
Attendants six New Orleans team and guess what, they won
the game at home. But but again, how many division
winners have we've had for the past twenty years? You know,
MS had a seven eight and one record, hosted a
playoff game. They actually lost that game, right you know.
I mean, it's so rare that we can mention them
off the top of our head. So I think it
(01:24:17):
the it's not broken, right, it's not a broken system.
And really, realistically, in a league like this as as competitive,
with the amount of parity that you have in the
NFL due to the draft and due to the salary
cap um, anybody can win any game as we as
we know. I mean, it can happen to any year,
(01:24:37):
and undefeated team can fall to a team that's winless
because there's just so much parody in this league. So
I think that when you get to the postseason, throw
the regular season records away and let's see what what
team is the best in the postseason and homer road advantage,
I mean, it means a great deal as we know historically,
(01:24:58):
but if you're the best team, you should win the
Super Bowl. All right, Eagles got a first down on
the third in five place, so they continue their drive
there now in the red zone against the Redskins. Redskins
leading this game fourteen to ten. Looking good there the Texans.
I missed this, Gavin, were you watching that Texans Titans game?
(01:25:19):
I missed that. The Texans seemed to be in a
position to score, and now the third quarters ended, Tennessee
has the ball. It's still fourteen seven. I didn't miss that.
I was There's so many games going on. Uh, and
the Titans are now running all the way into the
red zone. Here's what happened and ended smith uh interception
(01:25:42):
by Tennessee. They had a second and goal at the
Tennessee four yard line and Deshaun Watson had a pass intercepted.
So that's two red zone interceptions for you know, one
for each team. You know. Look at I'm a big
Deshaun Watson fan. Here it comes, but I'm just watching
(01:26:03):
them over the last couple of years. The inconsistencies that
we see into Shaun Watson. And by the way, if
you go back to his Clemson days, a lot of
people said if there was a problem with Watson is
that he threw interceptions even though he could make spectacular plays.
It isn't amazing. It always amazes me when people try
to evaluate a guy, you know, coming out of college
(01:26:26):
into the NFL based on a combine watch the film.
More likely than not, the guy that you see in
college is the same guy you're gonna see in the NFL.
Sam Donald be in that, But I mean, it seems
like it's it's a Tiger Why. I don't know, like
cliche you want to put out there, But my point
(01:26:47):
is is that it just seems like we're stalling right
now with Watson. That would that we keep expecting him
to make that next step and it hasn't happened yet. Yeah,
I agree with you protecting the I wear people out
probably talking about ball security in the NFL, but it
(01:27:08):
is the most important thing. Look, I mean, if there's
something that never goes out of fashion in the NFL,
it's a ball possession offense and it's a great defense.
That's the reason why the Steelers are in the playoff conversation.
Mike Tomlin has navigated one of the most injury riddled
teams as far as starters not being available for games
because they possessed the ball on offense. They run the
(01:27:29):
ball fairly well this season, not as good as past seasons,
and they have a great defense. Same with the Patriots,
they possessed the ball on offense, they have a great defense.
Same thing with the Buffalo Bills, great defense, ball possession offense.
The Houston Texans, they have a dynamic quarterback and they
have an offensive minded head coach, so they want to
(01:27:49):
try to exploit the game downfield. They want to dial
things up, they want to get exotic offensively. Occasionally. If
they dialed it back and they became more like the
Steeler than the Bills, they probably have more success. Because
I'm with you, Steve, I think there is a liability.
Even though he's as dynamic as he is, DeShawn Watson
is Watson can be careless with the football. We have
(01:28:12):
a touchdown. Are they going to rule it a touchdown
for the Eagles? I haven't seen a signal? Yeah yeah,
I mean they're already touchdown, but the officials end zone
on the reception, but nobody's nobody's holding their arms up.
They still haven't put the points on the board. What
is the deal here? I mean, they're just gonna go
(01:28:32):
straight to replay. I think they're thinking if they celebrate
hard enough, So here's we gotta replay here. Oh that
was a touchdown. Oh that was a touchdown without question,
unless there's a new rule where you can't already be
on the ground when you catch it. Yea. On this scramble,
Drill has caught a rifled pass to the back corner
(01:28:53):
that there's a question about his right foot. I don't know,
but they never signaled touchdown and was celebrated alright, my. Meanwhile,
the Titans, who were down fourteen nothing in this game
against the Texans, are in the red zone right now
looking to tie up this game. So uh a turnaround
in this Titans Texans game. As we have just kicked
(01:29:13):
off the fourth quarter right now, so we will keep
you updated on that. All right, We got so much
more coming up here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
We're heading down the stretch and all these fourth quarters
right now around the NFL. But first let's head out
to the Vegas Strip. Hey sports fans, this is insider
John Anthony coming to you from the Las Vegas Strip.
(01:29:34):
My message phone is red hot against his Fred Cola
message two one six sixty six fifteen. That's one two
one six sixty six fifteen. My information is in today,
I'm releasing three plays Cleveland at Arizona, Minnesota at Los Angeles,
and my top play, Buffalo at Pittsburgh. That's three games,
(01:29:56):
three locks, three and over the season three call one
eight dred two on six sixty six fifteen. That's two
on six sixty six fifteen. Now let's take a quick
look at the matchups. Cleveland visits Arizona. Cleveland has won
four the last five, but those four wins were all
at home. Arizona's in the midst of a six game
(01:30:17):
losing streak. Five of those losses were against playoff contenders.
Something has to give in this one. Vegas says this
is a field goal game. Don't get fulled by the number.
My information says it's not gonna be closed. I love
this game. It's a lock. Lex Minnesota heads west to
Los Angeles. Minnesota looks like a team that can make
a run of the playoffs and the division title is
(01:30:39):
still within reach. Los Angeles has struggled as of late,
losing three out of their last four. My information is confirmed.
The total is a play in this one, and I
love it. Another lock. Finally my top player today Buffalo
at Pittsburgh wild Card implications under the lights in prime time.
Buffalo needs one win in their last three to clinch playoffs.
(01:31:00):
Pittsburg is one eight of their last ten and four
in a row at home. This play is huge for me.
I love it. It's my top move, the biggest game
of the week. It's a lock. There you have it,
three huge plays on the message phone on red Hoyte
against spread call one eight hundred two one six sixties
six fifteen. That's three games, three locks, three and over
(01:31:21):
the season three call one eight hundred two one six
sixties six fifteen. Or go to Vegas Scores and Odds
dot com. What do I love that? It's week number
fifteen in the NFL. Got let's go and as the
games go down or go find listen right here to
(01:31:45):
all the reaction on Fox Sports Radio back goes with
he's looking, he's looking now, he starts to roll, he's
gonna look, he is running it, he's firing and it
is in complete. That is it. It's a fair pen
touchdown the mile sidlers. Yeah, it was confusion all over
(01:32:05):
the place because there was no signal of a touchdown.
But it was a touchdown w i P Eagles Radio Network.
So the Eagles take the seven team four teen lead.
Big game for the Eagles. Minute a half to go
in the third quarter, there again, Eagles leading the Redskins
seventeen to fourteen on the road. Hey, great news, quick
and easy way for you to save money. Switched Getta
(01:32:26):
only takes fifteen minutes to see if you can say
fifteen per cent a morning car insurance, go to Geo
dot com c even you could say so if the
game's going on this morning, most of them are pretty
much done. The Giants of extended their lead over the Dolphins,
despite the fact that Eli Manny has thrown three interceptions
in that game. But the big game, and we said
(01:32:47):
going into the morning, this was the game Texans Titans.
It was all Texans in the first half, fourteen nothing.
It's been all Titans in the second half. We are
tied at four team. We twelve minutes to go in
the game. So let's turned this game around in the
Titans favor. Here, Richard, Well, they're finally making Deshaun Watson
pay for the mistakes. You're throw an interception, you have
(01:33:10):
to capitalize with points and that's exactly what they've been
able to do here. Um, they've been trading some mistakes
so offensively, this game has been sloppy. But finally the
ledger is tipped back in favor of Tennessee, who's hosting
the Texans here. And this is a crowd who's seen
some greatness out of Ryan Tannehill Layton games. This is
(01:33:30):
a Titans team that has a real shot divisional game. Uh,
this is going to be a tough half for Watson
and the guys. Offensively, it's gonna be loud in this stadium, alright.
The Patriots handling the Bengals quite easily ten It was
a pick six though, that really broke the back for
the Bengals in this game. If you're just tuning in,
(01:33:53):
it was real bad news for the Patriots today is
Jay Glazer got his hands on that video and aired
it today on the Fox pregame show, and it is
exactly what was described a seven or eight minute tape
focus directly on the sideline of the Bengals. It wasn't
a quick shot, it was absolute filming of what was
(01:34:13):
going on on the Bengals sidelines. So obviously this is
gonna take this to a whole different level. What is
going to happen to the Patriots. They've been guilty before
of other infractions. Who knows. I mean we can only speculate.
But now that the video is out and is as described,
it certainly doesn't look good for New England. No, it doesn't.
(01:34:33):
And look as a player or former player who you
know worked with that team, with that coach, with that
quarterback Belichick and Brady during my three years spend in
New England. UM, I certainly understand one thing. They don't
take a single opponent lightly. We we prepared for every
single team, regardless of their record, as if they could
(01:34:54):
go and win the Super Bowl after we face them
over beforehand touchdown Texans touchdown Tech since tan yard run
right there? Yeah, so gets into the end zone. Houston,
Houston just makes this, Uh makes this backup ball. Ryan
Tannell is gonna have to win this game. I mean,
that's when it comes down to. And he's been winning
(01:35:14):
games for the Tennessee Titans, but who knew that the
score was gonna creep up this high? Uh, He's gonna
have to win this game for the Tennessee Titans. But
back to the Patriots. If you missed it, Uh, there
is video evidence uh Bengal security discussing with the videographer
commissioned by the Patriots with a I mean a long
(01:35:34):
shot of the Bengals sideline ahead of this Sunday matchup teams,
I mean a long shot of the sideline. The Bengal
security guard at one point said, I mean, is this
a joke? You guys haven't shot the scout that you're
telling me. This documentary is on not once yet and
and you just see it. They're filming the substitutions, they're
(01:35:55):
filming the defensive signaling. There's they're filming the sideline of
the Bengal because they're trying to get uh some sort
of edge ahead of this game. And so you know,
you can say all you want till you're blew in
the face that you weren't aware of this video tape
if you're Bill Belichick or the Patriots organization, but nobody's
(01:36:17):
gonna believe you. And what's going to result is a
heavy handed penalty Redskins in the end zone. They are
looking to go up, so the Eagles score and the
Redskins answer right back. The Eagles desperately need to win
this game, and they're just not looking like a team
all that bent on winning this game. Well way week
(01:36:37):
one of the season, the Eagles barely beat the Redskins.
Don't forget. Yes, uh, this is a Redskin team that
for a while there was as bad as any team
in the league. We now have turnovers all over the
place as far as the Seahawks is concerned. Uh. The
Seahawks have just run in a fumble recovery against the Panthers.
So the Seahawks in control right now, uh as they
(01:37:01):
look to improve their record to eleven and three right now.
It was an interception. Kyle Allen was trying to toss
it up under pressure to Christian McCaffrey, and it was
actually McCaffrey who stripped the defensive back. He fumbled, picked
it up, and then rumbled for the rest of the
yard is needed to score on that defensive place. Seattle
(01:37:21):
leads ten in Carolina. Actually it's twenty nine ten now
with that touchdown twenty nine ten, Uh, Seahawks in control.
Looking at the NFC right now, rich with the forty
Niners getting that big win on the road against the
Saints three ten, so they took it off. No, the
(01:37:42):
score or it was twenty three ten before Wait a second,
because I have tin for a touchdown to ten. Oh
I know why. Because it's playing a review. That's why.
So the play is under a review right now. That's
why they didn't post the touchdown. There you go, all right,
(01:38:04):
So we have a review on that last scoring play.
We've got it. We're trying to be as accurate as
we possibly can because you get conflicting reports. But they
are reviewing that touchdown to see if it actually will stand. Um,
all right, what was that even talking about there? I got,
I got, I got, I got interrupted there all of
a sudden, it certainly did. Oh no, no, I was
(01:38:24):
talking about the NFC right now. So the forty Niners
sitting atop the NFC again neutral field, forty Niners, Saints, Packers, Seahawks.
Can you differentiate? Is there is there any one team
that clearly separates itself from the pack at the top
of the NFC. You could make an argument that that
(01:38:47):
the forty Niners have been the most dominant this season
so far, but I mean, even then, they have a
tough loss to divisional rival, right, the Seattle Seahawks. We're
able to to knock them off. So I don't know,
I I mean, it's it's tough to say. Then if
C feels wide open, then if C feels like you know,
(01:39:08):
there's a hard line between those in the hunt and
those teams who have either made a break for the
wild card or leading their divisions. But inside those top
six teams, it's difficult to pick a clear cut, a
clear cut favorite to sort of lord over the field
the way the Ravens sort of feel like they have
(01:39:29):
the advantage on the FC side. All right, So the
forty nine has play the Falcons today at home, Rams
at home, which obviously is hardly a walkover because the
Rams very much in need of victories right now. And
then you know, it comes down to this forty Niners
at the Seahawks week seventeen um. Obviously, if the Seahawks win,
they would be tied, but the Seahawks would get the
(01:39:51):
division tile because they would have beaten the forty Niners twice.
So the forty Niners remember this stretch, Remember the forty Niners,
they've oh, they haven't beaten anybody eight Then they had
a home game against the Packers at the Ravens at
the Saints and they end up winning two of those
three games. So you know, any idea that somehow the
forty niners were pretenders is simply not true. But it
(01:40:12):
doesn't mean that they're in all right. That Seahawk touchdown
was not allowed. Wow, look at this, But they have
retained possessions, so it is tim But that touchdown was
not allowed. So the Seahawks have the ball. It's twenty
This was on the other side of the punt, so
it was just fourth down for the Carolina Panthers. They
(01:40:32):
punted it to the Seahawks. Seahawks have possession on the
other side of the return. Another big throat of Tyler Lockett,
by the way, So Steve Hartman shouldn't be complaining too much, Okay.
I I don't want to. I don't want to get
carried away. But you know, it's semi final day and
I'm the four seed playing the one seed, and like
everything is coming up really well for me right now.
(01:40:53):
For instance, I have Joe Mixon carries one yards today. Um,
what the listeners really care? I nobody cares about that,
but I know there's a lot of people listening right now.
They do want to know how they're fantasy teams are
doing because it is playoff weeks. Actually they started a J. Brown.
He has been for the Titans. Uh. Some of the
(01:41:14):
guys today, well, the guy that's been the beast today
is Jamis Winston. Has thrown for three hundred and sixty
eight yards and three touchdowns. Buccaneers have been in control
over the Lions throughout up twenty four to ten. Uh
in that game. Godwin, by the way, a hundred twenty
one yards receiving in that game for Tampa. Perryman has
a couple of receiving touchdowns. So we're gonna do a
little update on some of these fantasy guys. Russell Wilson
(01:41:37):
fifteen and twenty to thirty nine, two scores there, Kyle
Allen awful today, three picks, no touchdowns. McCaffrey doing his thing.
Is Christian McCaffrey your Offensive Player of the Year? That
m VP, but offensive Player of the Year, And man,
I look, i I've seen running backs have great years
(01:41:58):
rushing the football. I've never seen what Lamar Jackson's doing.
So I think if there's ever gonna be an m
v P slash oh Offensive Player of the Year, it's
gonna be Lamara. By the way, I just got this stat. Now,
this is a fantasy stack. Christian McCaffrey just reached the
four hundred PPR fantasy point plateau for the season. He's
only the ten different player and is only the thirteen
(01:42:19):
season with four hundred plus points in history. So he
is once again having a historic year from a PPR standpoint.
Christian McCaffrey seventy two yards rushing had touchdown today. Also
six receptions for sixty six yards. All right, we're in
the guy goed Fox Sports Radio studios to find out
on everything. As we head down the stretch on these
morning games, we we revert back to the one and
(01:42:41):
only Ralph Irvant Ralphie. Just remember Steve and over half
the country. It's not morning games. Well, that's true, you're right,
that's a very good point. Well, it's the early, early,
early games. On that early earlier games one PM. Feels
(01:43:02):
like early games is accurate ears compared to the later Yes,
well it is not early. It is later in the game.
Fourth quarter, eight forty six to play Houston with a
fourteen lead over Tennessee. Carlos Hide a ten yard run
for the score to break that tie. Meanwhile, Washington, they
(01:43:26):
get a ten yard run from Adrian Peterson and a
twenty one at seventeen lead over Philadelphia, although the Eagles
just broke a big play deep into Redskins territory, so
it will be uh Philadelphia threatening thirteen five still to
play there. In d C, New England up seven to
ten over Cincinnati ten thirteen to play in the fourth quarter,
(01:43:49):
they're in since Seattle up twenty three to Tenant carolinea
ten eleven to play in the fourth quarter. Detroit has
just reached the end zone they have still trailing Tampa Bay.
The Bucks, though up sixteen, just started the fourth quarter.
In that game, Green Bay six lead over Chicago to
play in the fourth Online car shopping can be confusing,
(01:44:11):
not anymore. With true Price from True Car. Now I
can know the exact price you'll pay for your next car.
So it's a true Car to enjoy a more confident
car buying experience. Kansas City leading Denver twenty three to
three in the snow to play into that game. In
se kwon Barkley, well, he just ran for his second touchdown.
It appears yep it is and the Giants up thirteen
(01:44:33):
over Miami with the extra point still to come. One
more note, Jacksonville playing at Oakland. It is the final
game at the Oakland Coliseum. And Josh Jacobs, well he
will be suited up. He is active for Oakland in
today's game. As we sent it back to Steve Hartman
and rich ron Berger, all right, thank you very much, Ralph.
We're coming alive from the get go Fox Sports Radio Studios.
(01:44:54):
Easy to say, Cente, Marty Concernce to Geico, go to
Gaga dot com a call eight hundred nine for seven
out of the only hard part figuring out which way
is easier. So the game we're watching right now would
be the Texans and the Titans. Texans leading this game
twenty one to fourteen, and the Texans have the ball
right back as the Titans went to four Yeah. Yeah,
(01:45:19):
the Texans now have retained possession inside their own ten
yard line. UM, and so yeah, look again, this is
gonna be this is gonna be the game for Ryan Tannehill.
I mentioned in the prior drive when the Texans took
the lead. Uh, he's gonna have to lead them to
a victory here. That's what's gonna take to beat the
(01:45:40):
Texans today. I didn't expect this to be a shootout again,
even though Houston has struggled on defense. Divisional game, you
assume Romeo Cornell will get the troops fired up and
Mike Rabel, defensive minded coach. Odd that the main players
in this game are all descendants of Belichick. Billy O'Brien,
they head coach and offensive play caller, Romeo Crenell defensive
(01:46:04):
play caller, and Mike Rabel, head coach of the Tennessee Titans,
all from Bell Belichick. But it's gonna come down to
Ryan Tannehill. This is the proven moment, by the way,
the Lions showing a little life. They have just scored,
so it is seventeen Buccaneers leading the Lions. The Lions
just miserable early in this game at home, but trying
(01:46:24):
to rally. Remember this is a Lion team that is
one and nine in their last ten games. Of course,
Matthew Stafford out for the season didn't help Blah, who
got off to a lousy started suddenly completing some passes.
They have no running game at all. The Lions have
just twenty three yards on the ground, but the down
seven just started the fourth quarter, so the Lions looking
(01:46:46):
to rally in this game. Uh, checking some of the
other scores right now again, All right, well, let's get
the latest score right now. They gave the Texans a lead,
lots and hands off to hide. Rotting to the left,
Carlos has the five Carlos to the pilot. He's in touchdown.
Justston ten yard TD run l COOPO for the lead.
(01:47:09):
Sports Radio six Tan Texans Radio network right there. Meanwhile,
the Philadelphia Eagles, in a back and forth against the Redskins,
have just scored to retake the lead, one penning the
extra point right there. So the Eagles ten minutes to
go in the game, needing a win today again they
(01:47:30):
will host the Cowboys next week. Uh. Retaking the lead
against the Washington Redskins, who played pretty well by the
way today. Yeah, they did both offensively and defensively until this.
Have Zach Ertz on a beautiful short touchdown reception. He's
got five receptions on the day over sixty yards. In
that touchdown, Uh, just a pick route out of a
(01:47:52):
three man bunch to the right side of Carson Wentz.
He was the underneath receiver and he caught it right
at the goal line. So they go up in that one.
Redskins now trailing the Eagles. UM, this important game for
the Eagles obviously in division and nobody seems to want
to win the East in the NFC. Yeah, this is
back and forth, alright, So do we get the extra point?
(01:48:13):
And we verified the extra point on the board. Eagles overwatched,
all right, so just about ten minutes to go on
that game. Eagles with a three point lead. But this
is again, every time one team scores, the other team
comes right back. Kansas City is having no problem right
now with Denver. They're up twenty three to three in
this game. Giants nine game losing streak looks like it's
(01:48:35):
going to end today, commanding thirty to thirteen lead over
the Dolphins. Uh Eli mannings thrown for two touchdowns. He's
also thrown three interceptions. Say Kwon Barkley has had a
really nice game. He has a hundred five yards rushing
and two scores in this game. So the Giants nine
game losing streak appears to be ending. Let's hear one
(01:48:56):
of those Giants score second of three at the Miami
Tech handoff. Barkley follows his block blocks us to the
tenth to the five and I'll go into the touchdown,
all right. So there we are with the Giant score
right there, w f A M Giants Radio Network thirty
and third team, four teen minutes ago in the game. Uh, Giants,
isn't enough to save Sherman's job. A lot of people
(01:49:17):
are already speculating, because Rivera has connections with the general
manager there, that Ron Rivera is gonna be the next
head coach of the New York Giants. Gettleman, formerly of
the Carolina Panthers, obviously the voice in the room that
could push for Rivera. And we have the Houston Texans
now inside of the ten yard line of the Tennessee Tightens.
Deshaun Watson with the night pass over the middle, found
(01:49:39):
DeAndre Hopkins to get them inside the red zone and
run there gets him inside the tent. So the Houston
Texans knocking on the door could make this a two
score game. The Green Bay Packers are still leading twenty
one to six over the Bears got ten minutes ago
in the game. There Bears with the ball. Aaron Rodgers
(01:50:00):
is just sixteen and thirty one in this game. Now
it's freezing at Lambeau. Obviously the weather it probably has
a lot to do with that, But you know, Rogers,
It's this has been interesting here for Green Bay. You know,
in the past when the Packers have had big years,
Aaron Rodgers is in the m v P conversation, and
he's had games like that, But there's been a certain
level of inconsistency with Rogers that we haven't really seen
(01:50:23):
much in the past. Are we at the point now
with Rogers, who obviously is a guaranteed first ballot Hall
of Famer, one of the all time greats? We are
we beginning to see that decline right now? And Aaron Rodgers,
I don't think so. Uh, just because you know, later
in this season he's played better. I really chalk it
(01:50:44):
up to learning a new offense. I understand, you know.
I mean he's only thrown two interceptions. That's where it
really stands out well here. I mean, Matt Lafleur is
a brand new offensive voice in the room. Uh, and
you just mentioned how many how few mistakes he's made
this season and and this offense looking better late this year,
especially leaning on the run games, something that was missing
(01:51:05):
during the Mike McCarthy era in Green Bay. Yeah, I
have no doubts that Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are
going to be a team to watch, or two a
team potentially to beat. I mean, like the Charger game,
bad hundred sixty one yards passed. But what was what
will go back to the box score and look how
many times he was sacked? Back to the box score
(01:51:28):
in the forty Niners, and and see how many times
he was sacked. It was the offensive one. You asked
me about Aaron Rodgers in his decline. You protect him,
He's going to deliver, all right. Well, the good news
for him is is that this man is a master
not throwing interceptions. Only two interceptions on the year. Uh.
And the Packers well on their way to improve their
record to eleven and three and maintaining their position currently
(01:51:52):
as the number two seed. Now, remember they got blown
out by the forty Niners, sot niners essentially or two
games ahead of the practice scored for the number one
game is not over. There's their only down bad gonna
be eight, all right? So the Bears have scored. Did
they go for the left there? Did they go for
two and make it? They're doing the extra point right now?
(01:52:12):
It's good? It a made is a made extra point
for the Bears. Now this is interesting. So there's eight
minutes to go in the game. They were down nine,
and they just want for the one there, so they're
down eight. Yeah, you go for the two earlier or later.
I mean, I've seen it both ways on this. Yeah,
I mean, frankly, down you know, fifteen points, I'm always
(01:52:34):
in favor of going for two when you get there, like,
you know, I mean, whatever the circumstances. Maybe it's a
lot harder to score, you know, to finish a drive
in the end zone than it is to get a
field goal. What happens if they get the ball back
on a on a quick turn over here against the
Packers and they drive the length of the field and
(01:52:54):
kick a field goal. You know, I mean, I I
go for two right now. That's just the way I
look at it. And then I guess you're only trailing
by seven. So no, they're trailing by eight. Now they
could have cut it to seven with a two point aversion,
they went with the one. So it's uh in that
game right there, all right, Washington has the ball, the
(01:53:16):
Eagles would regained the lead twenty one. We got nine
minutes to go in that game, and the Redskins are
already an Eagles territory. So every time the Eagles take
the lead, the Redskins are answering right back and they're
driving again. Dwayne Haskins has said arguably his best game
of the year. Fifteen carries twenty I mean fifteen eighteen yards,
(01:53:37):
two touchdowns, and note picks. The ageless wonder Adrian Peterson
has sixty five yards rushing and a touch on this
game over midfield. Again. They're out by the thirty five
yard line of the Philadelphia Eagles. So this is a
ball game, ladies and gentlemen, critical game, especially with the
game's looming with the Cowboys taking on the Rams right now.
(01:53:59):
If the Eagles could win, and you know, the Cowboys
lose today, suddenly the Eagles would be in a much
better position to try to wrap up the NFC East
as they host the Cowboys coming up next week. All right,
when the guy go Fox Sports Radio Studios, we are
coming down the stretch and a couple of very interesting
games with major playoff implications coming up next. Trip Biscuit
(01:54:25):
five of the play clock takes the snap, looks left,
throws over the meadow. It's cut Miller touchdown, touchdown, Bears
two yards strike trap biscuit midder that Packers. That was
w BBM News Radio seven eight a m. And one
oh five point nine FM Bears Radio Network. So the
Bears aren't done yet and again trying to keep their
(01:54:47):
slim playoff hopes alive. Is Team Packers over the Bears
inside eight minutes to go. There. The Texans added a
field gold, up their lead to ten over the Titans. Meanwhile,
a big the three yard field goal with plenty of
room to spare for the Redskins has tied their game
against the Eagle. So that game is twenty four all
(01:55:09):
and that is getting very very interesting right down the middle.
It had some room on it too. Carson Wentz with
the ball by the way on the ensuing kickoff, and
the Redskins have it back. The Redskins have it back.
They just sacked Carson Wentz. He fumbled the football and
the Redskins came up with it and they're down near
(01:55:31):
the Philadelphia twenty nine yard line. If this holds up,
this could be the game. Wow, this is I mean again,
Carson Wentz. Carson Wentz, I mean is he? Is he
an elite quarterback. I mean, obviously he's a franchise quarterback
(01:55:52):
because they've tied it. But he's elite. No, no, no, listen. Elite.
Elite is rare f air, el is Aaron Rodgers. Elite
is Drew Brees. Carson Wentz is a franchise quarterback. Can
you build around a guy like Carson Wentz? Is he
talented enough to? Yeah? Sure? But is he elite? He's
got a long way to go before he gets to
(01:56:13):
that to that realm um, I believe if you have
a a consistent group in front of him protecting him
they haven't, Uh, consistent group out of the backfield rushing
the ball for him, they haven't, And a consistent group
of receivers who don't have as many drops as they've
had this season, which they've had. Uh, this will be
(01:56:35):
a better looking Carson Wentz. But injuries and issues with
receptions have plagued them all season long. Well, one fine
for them has been Miles Sanders, your guy, who, by
the way, is having a huge game today hunter twenty
three yards rushing in a touchdown, forty six yards receiving
and another touchdown. And he missed some time earlier this
season with some injuries. So again like this is this
(01:56:57):
has been the problem for the Eagles past two seasons,
is clusters of injuries on both sides of the ball
that have limited them. And Carson wins. You know, he's
really struggled as a result of it. All right, Lions
looking to come back against the Buccaneers. This one was
Buccaneers twenty one zip at one point in this game.
It is now seventeen Tampa Bay. By the way, Jamis
(01:57:20):
Winston in this game has four hundred and seventeen yards passing.
That's his second consecutive game of at least four hundred
yards passing. Uh oh, and now the Buccaneers have just scored.
The Buccaneers have just scored, and it had to be
a defensive touchdown. Let me find out an update on
(01:57:42):
that or things are happening. The defensive back was running
all the way, Yeah, because I knew that the uh
that the Lions had the ball. So a defensive score
for the Buccaneers. Will update you on that. But they
increase their lead to thirty to seventeen five and a
half minutes to go, penning the extra point. It right here,
it looks like Matt Staff or excuse me blah uh
(01:58:03):
steps back to throw late to the sideline to the
flats and Tampa Bay, I mean it blow, David blow.
Well it was yes, lord, alright, So that was about
a sixty yard return for score. Tampa Bay leading thirty
(01:58:26):
one seventeen the point after touchdown. Good alright, the blaw
I like blah blah blah blah. All right, Titans on
the move right now, but the running out of time.
It's two and a half minutes to go in the game.
The clock is running. They are inside the thirty yard
line of the Texas Texans with a ten point lead
in that game. Titans need a quick score, really quick
(01:58:49):
score right now, and they're down inside the twenty. In fact,
they're now down to the ten yard line. So we
still are a two fifteen to go and the Texans leading.
The Titan is twenty four to four. Team. Meanwhile, in
a tie game, the Redskins and the Eagles at twenty
four all, and we got a challenge on the field.
(01:59:12):
I'm not quite sure what's going on in that game
right there. So we have five minutes forty one seconds
to go. Redskins have the ball and we are tied
at twenty four and whatever. The challenge was finished to
a game that I think a lot of people assumed
would be all hemmed up for the Eagles and package
for for victory. But I mean, it's all It is
(01:59:35):
a dog fight out there. The Washington Redskins, for a
team that's listless in this division, has been playing very well.
It looks like the Packers have had a turnover against
the Bears. Packers leading this game. One watch a replay
right now. Trabiski back to pass and the ball is
(01:59:56):
intercepted by the Packers. That was a tip at the
line of scrimmage. He was being tackled in the backfield.
It would have been a quarterback sag no, no, you
threw it right into the defensive Lineman's hand was barely pressured.
He just never saw him and one of the Packers
defensive lineman. Good catch for the big man. That thing
(02:00:18):
touchdown They have nodded not but they're gonna be down
by three well depending on the extra point. The extra point.
Only two minutes left in the game. All right, Redskins
looking for a field goal right now. They made it
from fifty three last and the forty three yards right
down the middle. They got a red hot kicker. Red
Skins are leading the Eagles twenty seven to twenty four
(02:00:39):
inside five minutes to go, So we'll see what the
Titans do right now. After scoring the touchdown to get
that much closer against the text, Ryan Tannehill stayed in
the pocket, he was under pressure, ducked somebody, and then
found Dion Lewis over the middle, and scrappy little running
back found his way into the end zone. So of
course if sucked up punch or pushes this one through,
(02:01:02):
this is gonna be a three point game. Tennessee trailing
at home. All right, we got Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
We're rolling onto a couple of exciting finishes in the
early NFL games coming up next, a couple of ball
games going right down to the wire. That includes what's
happening in Tennessee. Pana Hell and the gun looks down
the middle. PPS throw short cart Louis at the five
(02:01:24):
Lois touchdown. Titan Titans Radio Network. They got within three
right now one, but they could not recover the on
site kicks. So Houston has the football right now at
Tennessee's forty two yard line. As they're sitting right now
at the two minute warning mean while the Panthers will
not go away, they scored again. They're out within six
(02:01:45):
twenty four is at score Chris Carson twenty one carries
for over a hundred yards in the affair and also
to t d s. Giants are pouring on the Miami
Dolphins six to thirteen. C Kwon Barkley t four carries
for a buck twenty two abut twelve and two scores
of his own Packers by eight over Chicago to there's
two forty left in regulation. I'm t gascon Alan on
(02:02:11):
third down, starts to run and then throws zon touchdown.
Samuel right at that. Hey in Carolina, w BT Panthers
a radio network, Panthers hanging in now down thirty to
twenty four to the Seahawks with three minutes to go
in that game, we are coming alive from the guy,
Go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes can save you
(02:02:34):
a fifteen per cent a more in Carr insurance physic
guy go dot com for a free rate quote. Alright,
so once again the uh the Houston Texans, hanging on
to a lead Titans had scored, went for the gonside
kick recovered by the Texans, and they have a fourth
and seven right now, the Texans have UH and the
(02:02:54):
clock is running, so the clock is right, So twenty
six seconds the clock has stopped right now, Texans will
kick to the Titans, leaving the Titans with a very
little time and they don't have any time outs, and
they have no time and they have a terrible kicker.
So if Ryan Tannehill pulls this one out, m v
(02:03:15):
P done. Yeah, alright, if he gets that. Meanwhile, the
Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles, where at the two
minute warning, the Eagles are trailing twenty seven to twenty four.
Can Carson Wentz pull this out? They have a second
and thirteen at the Washington twenty eight yard line, so
(02:03:36):
they are in position for at the very least a
field goal to send that game in overtime, and obviously
the Eagles would like to try to get the victory outright. UH.
Congratulations to the New York Giants UH thirty six to
thirteen blowing out the Dolphins today, which means that the
Giants nine game losing streak is over still in play
(02:04:00):
for that UH, that NFC East Division win, because nobody
else wants to win it. No, No, the Giants have
been mathematically eliminated for a long time now. But Eli
Manning gets his record back to five hundred overall as
a quarterback. There you go, something to be celebrated. They're
(02:04:22):
gonna let me ask you this. Uh, you think Eli
Manning will be playing in the NFL for any team,
Giants or anyone else. I could see him stepping away.
You know, here's the thing about Eli Manning's career, especially
down the stretch here in New York. I think it
has obviously slowed to a near halt. Anybody who's been
(02:04:43):
watching the games, are paying attention, can see that, and
he's only doing more damage to his legacy than continuing
to grow it. So I think we need a nineties
six yard play. Oh I like this. They spiked the ball.
Not get this. So they're down there at their own
four yard line. Tannehill gets sacked and he spikes the ball.
(02:05:09):
Now they're reviewing the clock whether there's one second left.
They're at their own four yard line. So yeah, that's
the game. You know what. They conceded and they have
now decided the game is over. He spiked the ball.
I don't know, it looked like he spiked the ball
before the clock ran out, but Rabel took off his
(02:05:31):
headset belt and dropped it like like he was like,
I'm so disgusted. Yeah, so he wasn't he wasn't going
to get him back on the field for what was
going to have to be a nineties six yard touchdown play.
So the Texans have taken control of the a f
C South with over the Tennessee Titans. And you know,
(02:05:55):
when you look at this game and everyone was talking
about Ryan Tannehill, numbers added up pretty good. Two thirty
six to seventy nine, two touchdowns, one big interception in
that game though, uh for Deshaun Watson to two touchdowns
and really two picks that kept the Titans are got
the Titans back into that game. But it is now
(02:06:16):
the Texas movie to nine and five in first place
in the a f C South. The Eagles got themselves
into the red zone with a short pass Award Junior
over the middle, followed up the first down run. So
the Eagles right now again, like you mentioned, trailing by three.
Washington Redskins lead in Washington, but Eagles have an opportunity
(02:06:38):
to score and potentially win this game. On this drive
are running right now, so the Eagles who have two
time out right it is inside the fifteen yard line
where at forty four. Again the Eagles have two time outs,
but they're letting this clock run right now. Whence is
looking over the middle wide open, it's gonna be a
(02:06:59):
first for the Eagles inside the five yard line? What
are they doing? And his progress didn't stop until what
the three yard line? Well, no, they think they blew
the whistle before that. Yeah, you had Kelsey the center
down there helping the receiver. I couldn't tell who it was,
but over the middle a nice crossing route. Wentz found
him right on the money there, and so it's War
(02:07:21):
Junior again with another first down on this drive, Eagles
inside the five yard line with just seconds left on
the clock. Alright, So the clock was at thirty one
thirty two seconds to go. Now first in goal for
the Eagles, and they took a time out to stop
the clock to sort of gather things. First in goal
though from the four yard line. All right, So at
(02:07:43):
the very least, Eagles looking to send this game to overtime,
but obviously looking for a win. Carson Wentz a couple
of touchdown passes, no interceptions in this game. We're at
the four yard line right now, Wentz is looking to
pass on first down throws in the end zone and
it is hot touchdown Eagles. That is the third reception
by war Junr. On this short drive and unbelievable play
(02:08:08):
by Carson Wentz off his back foot falling away found
Ward in the corner of the ends on and it
looks like he's in tears with that touchdown reception to
go ahead. Twenty six seconds left on the clock, and
obviously a big extra point here to up the lead
of four instead of three, So twenty six seconds to
go on this game. This has been a terrific football game.
(02:08:29):
By the way, back and forth the Redskins have played
one of their best games of the year. Like a
fade away jumper here Carson Wentz off of both feet
through a wobbly spiral up and it was a fade
route by Ward Jr. Who was actually coming all the
way across the formation, just running to the back pylon.
And gorgeous, gorgeous connection there over Josh Norman. By the way,
(02:08:50):
every time I see wobbly passes, Peyton Manny through wobbly
passes for twenty years. Yeah, he could not. But but
some people, some receivers actually said the sly wobble made
it an easier to catch. Well, you know what's funny
about Peyton Manning. Uh, imagine his career in Green Bay.
Imagine his career point by the way is good Eagles.
(02:09:11):
Imagine his career as a giant. I mean, you know,
he had one of his best statistical seasons in Denver,
but you're out altitude and the wind isn't as big
of an issue. But the wind is a quarterback's worst enemy.
And if he played in a windier city like a buffalo,
like Cleveland and outdoors, but he couldn't throw a tight spiral.
(02:09:31):
When you have a wobbly spiral, that's when it affects
your accuracy. Is when the wind takes it all right,
the Buccaneers, the lines drew close, But now the Buccaneers
have I gotta get the stats here on Jamis Winston
because he just threw another touchdown pass. Jamis Winston go
ahead is twenty eight of forty two, four hundred and
(02:09:53):
fifty eight yards, four touchdowns and a pick, which came
on the opening drive of the series of the game,
So four hundred and fifty eight yards this week. He
had four fifty six last week. So yeah, and then
by the way, is will be the Bucketeers. Four straight
win gets him back to five hundred. At seven and seven,
(02:10:15):
it would appear Jamis Winston is safe in Tampa Cleveland
visiting Arizona. Today's scoreless Kyler Murray and this offense with
Arizona Cardinals with the ball first, and I have to
make mention of something because I think it's been exciting
watching it this whole season. If you've been paying attention,
Kyler Murray is actually having a really nice season with
(02:10:36):
the Cardinals and Cliff Kingsbury as a play caller. Uh,
and some relative health on this offensive side of the ball,
all that has really seemed to click in a little bit. Uh.
Their defense has been absolutely abysmal, especially they're passing defense
like Swiss cheese back there. But if they can shore
things up in the draft defensively, that is going to be. Now,
(02:10:57):
we were talking about this earlier about Jamis Winston and
right is next year gonna be the year of Jamis Winston.
You'd have to squint a lot harder to say, yeah,
it could be Winston. It really could be Kyler Murray's year. Though,
if the if the Cardinals put together a defense, you
say next year that do you realize Winston is on
pace for over five thousand yards passing this year. But
(02:11:17):
but he's on one team. They're not losing their seven
and seven right, No, I mean, but I mean they're
not gonna be a playoff team on the NFC because
it's just a runaway right now. And then if he
is leading the NFL and passing, yeah, and then look,
there's no way he's the story of this season. Lamar
Jackson obviously has a seat at that table. And again
he's on a team that's gonna be on the outside
(02:11:39):
looking in playoffs wise. But if they put together a
defense and he cleans up his act as far as
starring interceptions. We were talking earlier about how next year
could be a year Kyler Murray. If the Arizona Cardinals
put any sort of defense together, it'll be the year
of Kyler. There's no question in my mind. He is dynamic,
he's fun to watch. Steve al Right, we are at
(02:12:01):
the end of this Redskins Eagles game, and by the way,
it's not over yet. The Redskins are near midfield with
thirteen seconds to go. Dwayne Haskins now throws an underneath
pass where they're gonna have to race to the sideline.
They do six seconds to go, so they basically have
one chance to throw it in the end zone. Eagles
(02:12:22):
over the Redskins um, so that one is not over yet.
By the way, Packers Bears. That game is still going
twenty one thirteen with a minute and a half to go.
The Bears are trying to pull one out Green Bay
with the ball right now, so we'll keep an eye
on this. So alright, it's coming down. It's that the
forty two yard line. We have time for one big
(02:12:43):
hail Mary. I hope Haskins understands that he doesn't have
time for to plays here. You got one shot on
this one. Don't don't run off the field to take
a selfie, all right, Haskins is Oh no, By the way,
I don't know what the line was on this game, Gavin,
but the Eagles just scored a touchdown. What was the
(02:13:05):
line on this game? It was just it was a
I was looking at this Seattle game that is a
six point line. So the Eagles were six points favorites
and they just covered. They just come that. The Eagles
were a six and a half point favorite against the Redskins.
Haskins down four lateral, the ball as he was is sacked,
(02:13:30):
and the Eagles just scored to cover. That is important.
So imagine if you put your life savings on the Redskins.
Uh in this game? Wow, they played their best game
of the year. I don't Gavitt, I don't believe your obsession.
I don't know how well. That's why I stayed away
from that game. That is unbelievable. Can you imagine? So
(02:13:51):
if you came out on the Redskins and you're basically
the whole game, you're safe, your whole safe. It comes
down to one last play. Hail Mary, doesn't matter. I've
won the game. It's the bank instead. Haskins, who now
becomes your most hated person of all time, laterals the ball.
They don't even have the extra point, by the way,
they don't need to. Thirty seven seven final. I think
(02:14:13):
we're gonna find out that Dwayne Haskins had some sort
of Josh Shaw type scheme going on. All right. That
was unbelievable, I mean literally unbelievable. Meanwhile, the Vikings boom
touchdown against the Chargers. No, yes, no, in not in
what happened there? I think the officials they're looking at
(02:14:35):
each other and they just called the time out. Touchdown
there it is touchdown Vikings. They're on the board first
against the Chargers. All right, when the guy go Fox
Sports Radio studios as the uh second wave of games
is beginning to keep it right here on Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio, wentz firing and it is isn't a touchdown, hascot.
(02:15:04):
He's looking, he steps up, he's hit. He tries to
lavel the ball. It's puffed up, running up the football
to have the sunline was proud. I'm proud up cos
all the way under the edd tone touchdown. It's over
turned the lights out. W I P Eagles ready on Network.
One of the all time covers as the Eagles get
(02:15:25):
to win thirty seven seven. Dwayne Haskins for many people
out there, is gonna live in infamy with that ill
advised lateral play. Speaking of laterals, the Bears had a chance.
So the Bears final play, they were down the Packers
and they had multiple laterals. It was almost Stanford cal
(02:15:49):
and they had a shot. They were inside the ten
yard line, and the last lateral if it had been
lateral literally one yard before, they had a chance. Oh yeah,
there's no question about it. I mean, and who knows.
I don't know what odds were on that game. Things
could have shifted mightily as far as uh, as far
as the books go, if the Bears would have scored there.
(02:16:11):
But say La v. The Packers win, so did the Eagles. Uh,
and the of course the Eagles cover, and uh we
got the Chargers. Now the second slated games going, Cleveland
game going as well, Charges facing Minnesota at home. Uh,
Cleveland on the road, facing the Arizona Cardinals on the road. Uh.
And of course that was that passed right there by
(02:16:33):
Philip Rivers. Please explain that miss who was aiming for?
I have no idea that was the whole point. By
the way, Vikings did score on their opening drive Kirk
Cousins six or six forty five yards touchdown passed. They
missed the extra point, so six nothing, Vikings Chargers with
the ball right now. This has been an up and
down year for the Chargers, especially offensively. Their rushing statistics
(02:16:56):
are dreadful. It's because they went through a drought once
even Gordon came back. They looked better as a running
team now, but this offensive line has had a hard
time protecting Philip Rivers and opening up lanes for this
run game. They have a third and eleven right now,
and Rivers is going deep and it's caught boom Mike Williams. So,
the Mike Williams connection on these backthrow shoulder throws has
(02:17:18):
been impressive. This he's such a physical receiver. I mean,
these these towers over these uh defensive backs, and Rivers
knows how to utilize. I'm looking at the dominance physically,
he's just so much bigger, no chance. Well, he's like
a tight end, but he's got receiver speed. He's about
two five, and he's a go up and go get
a type of player. And I'll say this about Mike Williams.
(02:17:42):
I shook his hand after an interview one time. His
fingers wrapped around my my hand twice. And I don't
have small myths, like there's a reason why I remember
the Chargers took him seventh overall. They passed on Oh,
I don't know. Let's see Christian McCaffrey, Deshaun Watson, Patrick
mahomes uh in order to get Mike Williams. And of
course at the time Rivers was thrilled because it said, hey,
(02:18:05):
we're committed to Rivers right now. By the way, when
we talk about we were talking a little bit earlier
about the future of Tom Brady. Uh, and we were
even speculating, because this is not new about the idea
of maybe Brady saying hey, let's go to l A.
I mean, he's sold his place in Boston. He's uh,
there's a lot of things if you're behind the scenes
where he sees to be severing its ties to Boston.
(02:18:27):
Right now, he has a has had a home in
the l A area. But if you were Tom Brady
and you look at the offensive weapons that he has,
it is I mean, seriously, who is Who's a better receiver?
Julian Edelman or Keenan Allen? Oh, Keenan Allen hundred times
over right, Mike and Williams hundred times over Hunter Henry
counted receiver. Hunter Henry is better than any tight end
(02:18:50):
the Patriots have right now. Mike Williams, I mean, he
is a deep if you put him with any quarterback,
that quarterback about Austin Ekela of the backfield as opposed
to a James White. I mean, I mean, the only
issue you run into, and it's a big one. Who's
protecting Tom Brady when he gets there? I mean that Look,
I mean, you have an aging center in Pouncy who's
(02:19:12):
out for the season injured. You have the return of
a Russell Okun who's you paid in free agency from Pullman,
the Phoenies and some of these other guys that were
premium picks. I mean, is it conceivable they'll get better? Well,
Phoenie's undrafted. You have Forest Lamp who's been was not undrafted,
was a second round pick out of Indiana. Phoenie was
(02:19:33):
a Phoenie. Poenie was the second rounder, second or third
round pick Dan Phoenie out of U Indiana. No, no, I,
I don't think he was the second round Forest Lamp
and Lamp was the second rounder. But but either way,
the the offensive line has been a patchwork quilt this season,
and you're starting Phoenie at a position that he's not.
You know, he was. He came in the league as
(02:19:55):
a guards. Dan Phoenie was a third round pick in
the third rounder. I been so yeah, field goal by
the way for the Chargers to get on the board.
So six to three Vikings lead in that game. He's
been obviously okay as a replacement to Poundcy, nothing special.
He's a guard in this league. They made him move
(02:20:16):
them to center after the injury to Poundcy. They have issues.
The point is they have issues, and they've made some
investment in their offensive line, but they've missed on a
lot of draft picks, so they have to sort of
if they're gonna be able to lure Tom Brady, they're
gonna need to prove to him that they can protect
him because he's taken a lot of shots with that
Patriots offensive line. More curious on this Ledger though. This
(02:20:38):
side of that game is the Minnesota Vikings, who leads
six three right now after the field goal by the Chargers. Um,
Minnesota has to win this ball game. I mean, there's
no questioning this. The Packers just snuck away with the
victory where the Bears could have beat them. Uh, if
they're going to catch them and not be a wild
card team, this cannot be a law us. Early on
(02:21:01):
the Cardinals with a seven nothing lead over the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns at six and seven still have I guess
some chance maybe Kyler Murray off to a perfect start
five for five fifty two yards, Baker Mayfield off to
a perfect start for for four for thirty yards. What
any think is gonna happen with Odell Beckham? Uh? As
far as the Brown is a concern, he seems to
(02:21:22):
be regretting UH being in Cleveland right now. O'Dell isn't
gonna be in Cleveland next year. And frankly, the way
I feel about it is shaman John Dorsey for signing
him in the first place in trade. The big issue
with Odell Beckham Jr. Is he's miscast in a team
that's growing a culture. You need to have a strong
(02:21:44):
culture in place. Had he gone to the Seahawks with
Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson, had he gone to the
Patriots with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, the Chiefs with
Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes, you could see that working out.
There is no room in this growing culture with a
first year head coach and Freddie Kitchen in a second
year quarterback in Baker Mayfield for a diva star receiver
(02:22:07):
of the ilk of an of Odell Beckham Jr. He
he needs a strong culture around him for him to
have success, and they just don't have that in Cleveland
right now. So Shamon John Dorsey for making the decision
to trade for him. It's like you're you're you're eating
the frosting without the cake, all right. The Raiders, already
up seven to three in this game against Jacksonville, are
(02:22:32):
now attempting a thirty three yard field goal five minutes
ago in the first quarter. Here the field goal attempt
is good. So it is ten to three Raiders, final
game ever in the black Hole, final game ever uh
in Oakland today and they are currently leading ten to three. Meanwhile,
would just have a dropped pass? Is that? Beckham? Yeah,
(02:22:55):
it looks like a thrust absolutely drop a perfect pass
from May over his shoulder, came in perfect spot for
him to come down with it and out of his arms.
That is pretty anexcusable. Meanwhile, the game that has a
big bearing on the postseason is just starting right now.
That would be the Rams and the Cowboys. The Rams
(02:23:17):
come into this game is a point and half favorite.
Cowboys with the Eagles winning today, need a win to
keep pace. And you know, earlier we talked to Aaron
Burnett talk about this. Uh. Aaron Andrews, excuse me, Aaron
Andrews earlier about this game, and she said, it's very
(02:23:38):
tough to free. By Patrick Peterson. Baker Mayfield picked off
in uh in the end zone, so that'll be the
Cardinals taking the ball the other way. So they lead
seven nothing in this game over the Browns by Paterson.
That was a poor throw way too high for Odell
(02:24:00):
Beckham Jr. That was a fingertip interception. Those gloves are unbelievable,
these guys where they were. Patrick Peterson's unbelievable athlete. The
fact that I was able to elevate and beat O'Dell
Beckham for the jump ball there. Uh, that was coming
in high and hot. So Arizona routines possession there after.
Touch back, all right. The Rams are on the move
right now, as Brandon Cooks on her receiving end of
(02:24:23):
first down pass from Jared Goff. Goff, who had no
touchdown passes in the month of November for the entire month,
no touchdowns, five interceptions, has looked much different over the
last couple of weeks. Of course, the Rams, coming off
that nice win against Seattle a week ago, they are
eight and five and the Vikings are nine and four
(02:24:43):
for that last wild card spot in the NFC. So
the Rams are rooting hard for the Chargers today, but
they also have to take care of business. And next
week the Rams are playing I believe, Seattle, so they've
they've got a lot of work to do. But the
Rams looking much better it right now. All right, here's
the Rams schedule. So they play at the forty Niners
(02:25:05):
next week, and then they have a home game against
the Cardinals. So even if the Rams win this game
at Dallas, they will still have to win at San Francisco.
The forty Niners can't rest because they have a one
game lead over Seattle and their final game is on
the road against Seattle. So oh, this is coming ahead
right now. In the last couple of weeks, one of
(02:25:26):
the big changes for the Rams offense has been Todd Gurlill,
and and really this has been the inverse of last year.
Todd Gurley was phenomenal through the early portion of the
regular season, the midway point, and then towards the end
he was hurt. He was hurt, and they brought in C. J.
Anderson and he had a nice little spell with them.
Got them all the way to the Super Bowl. But
of course we saw the Patriots sort of dismantle that
(02:25:47):
high powered Rams offense. Low scoring win for the Pats
in the Super Bowl. Here's the deal. This year, he
started out slow and all of a sudden they're trusting
him more. He's like the plus carried back he was
a year ago, and Jared Goff described him as vintage
Gurley with some of the moves he's made recently, the
stiff arms. He looks more comfortable as a rusher leap
(02:26:10):
this season. We're in the guy. Go Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Let's sign o. What's trending right now? Look who's here?
Who's here? David Gascott, what's up? Guys? How are you man?
We miss you this morning. Yeah, everyone's shifting around. People
don't understand. Just about everybody in this building is holding
out multiple multiple jobs. Oh. By the way, I want
(02:26:33):
you to know something. In the Southern California sports broadcasters,
I voted for you for what you were for Best
play by Play. You were one of the nominees. I
saw your name. I'm like, I'm gonna give you vote
you vote for You told me you vote for the Heisman. I,
I vote for a lot of things. I am not
(02:26:54):
making this up. I looked at the ballot. I couldn't
believe your name was on the ballot, and I said,
I don't care what he's for. Govin, I voted for
a best maker. So I think if you get your
parents to pay, they're gonna feel they'll put you on.
They had a lot of names on this list, they
pretty much everybody, but I saw Gascon. I said, I'm
gonna vote for Yeah. I appreciate the support. Here's a
(02:27:15):
question for you. You mentioned goths numbers in November. Yes,
what would be more unlikely him throwing no touchdowns in
a single month or jamis Winston not throwing an I
N T in a single month? Well, that Winston would
be impossible. There's no way he could go an entire
month without throwing the least one interception. But how about
back to back four plus the yard passing days? Yeah,
(02:27:37):
and can you imagine if you're a fantasy owner that
was in desperate need of a quarterback you just took
a flyer on Winston of the last couple of weeks,
nine yards passing in two weeks. I mean you you
would be lucky because there was no indication it was
gonna get so good so quickly. But it has. It's
been working. Yeah, he's been unreal the last couple of weeks, guys,
(02:27:57):
the games that are in progress right now, one of
them is here in Lost Angeles. You got the Vikings
and the Chargers. Takes a toss the cup passage to
the end zone and it's caught by her smith. Back
to the end zone. They're deliberating. They are deliberating. Still
no signal. Question is gonna be did he get his
body down? Vikings Radio network cousins on the day so
(02:28:21):
far seven and nine for sixty four yards in the
touchdown pass. P two was no good. So Vikings lead
the Chargers six to three in Santa Clara right now
forty Niners and Falcons, there's no scoreless ball game is
on Fox. Raiders with a ten three lead over the
Jacksonville Jaguars. Derek Carter the touchdown pass. He's sixth of
eight already for a hundred fifteen yards and also one score.
Arizona seven nothing over the Cleveland Browns. And then earlier
(02:28:43):
today a couple of ball games that went down on
the wire. One of them not so much. But Carolina
came from behind and actually covered or at least covered
and pushed the spread. Thirty to twenty four was the score.
So as you mentioned, Steve Setle keeping pace right now
with San Francisco threw Chris carsonal hunting thirty three yards
on ground and that affair Texans with a big win
on the road beat in Tennessee today one Carlos had
(02:29:06):
twenty six carries for a hundred and four yards and
also one score. Chicago falls at the gun getting beat
by Green Bay twenty one to thirteen. Eagles kept by
the Redskins with a miracle back door cover. Six and
a half was the line. They got a lateral that
was lay on the tur by Dwayne Haskins. They've scooped
it up and scored thirty seven twenty seven. Philadelphia was
(02:29:28):
a winner in that one. Kansas City took care of
Denver easy twenty three to three. And as you guys mentioned,
Jamis Winston two four hundred and fifty yards passing in
four t ds. Tampa Bay wins on the road beat
in Detroit tht eight to seventeen. To you guys, all right, David,
thank you very much We're coming alive from the guy.
Go Fox Sports Radio studios. Easy to say, fifteen per
(02:29:48):
cent more in your corncerans a guy, go go to
dot com or call eight D nine for seven otto.
The only hard part figuring out which way is easier.
The forty niner Falcon game is underway. Forty nine is
right now sitting alone at eleven and two atop the
NFC standings. Of course, the Ravens are at twelve and
two right now with the best overall record, uh in
(02:30:08):
the NFL. And you're you're coming off that incredible win
on the road against the Saints. Uh. This Atlanta Falcons team,
I mean, there's just been a horrible year. But then
dan Quinn relinquished control of the defensive signals. All of
a sudden, the Falcons rattled off a couple of impressive wins.
(02:30:29):
Is it a fate to complete that? Dan Quinn is
out in Atlantic? Because one thing about Arthur Blank, he's
been pretty loyal to his coaches over the years. They
haven't had a lot of coaching changes. They haven't um
and look, this is a dan Quinn who got you
all the way to the Super Bowl. Recently, I realized
this year has been a stumble, There's no questioning that.
But you also still have a quarterback, uh you know
(02:30:52):
who's who's extremely talented and Mattie Ice Matt Ryan. You
have a defense that's been playing much better down this stretch.
You have a chance. Look, if you have a strong
defense and you have a quarterback as good as Matt Ryan,
you have a chance any year. Uh So, I don't
think it's a fatal complete uh that you're you're going
to move on from Dan Quinn. If you're Arthur Blank,
(02:31:14):
I think he's made the decision actually a lot more difficult.
We'll see how this game goes. I mean, the four
Niners have looked like world beaters for most of the season.
Can you imagine if the Ravens beat them on the
road what that would look like on the other side
of tomorrow. I mean, I I sort of feel like,
you gotta give this guy a chance to finish your season,
(02:31:35):
to see what you really have as a uh delegator
and and a man to set the culture in place.
All right. Rams opening drive against the Cowboys resulted in
a punt, So now the Cowboys have the ball for
the first time again. This is the Cowboys offensive ranks
first first in the NFL, and yet this team is
(02:31:56):
sitting at sixteen and seven and they're on a losing
streak right now. So so many while rumors about what's
gonna happen with the Cowboys, the one thing that did
come out was that Jerry Jones at least has one
source saying that he is not going to hire a
college coach. All the speculation obviously about Lincoln Riley at
Oklahoma that he was gonna offer him some gigantic contract,
(02:32:17):
at least for now, he is claiming that is not
going to happen. Melvin Gordon just fumbled on the ten yard.
I just saw the wonder you're going in go get
that money. But that was on his own tent, and
he deserves Zeke money, you know. Well, he certainly was
(02:32:38):
holding out for it and the Chargers didn't. But we
had Alex Marvez a couple of weeks ago, absolutely saying
he's gonna get his money and more. Yeah, he said
that in free agency that he's going to get paid,
that there's going to be a team needy enough at
the position. We'll look at what happened Levan Bell, who
sat out an entire year got a huge contract. What
was he doing the other day when he wasn't playing
(02:32:58):
on Sunday? He was bowling bowling Saturday night. He had
the flu too sick to play in the game, but
not sick enough the Bowl. By the way, Urban Meyer,
speaking of college coaches, who was who was visiting one
of the suits at the Redskins game today? Another than
Urban Meyers, So a different NFC. Well, you remember how
(02:33:19):
well it worked when Daniel Snyder hired Steve Spurrier college
coach to be his head coach. Uh didn't work. I'll
put it this way. There's one common denominator. It's Daniel Snyder.
I mean he's tried everything. They brought Joe Gibbs back,
they had Schottenheimer. I mean he's hired big name coaches
Shanahan obviously, guys with Super Bowl pedigree. Nothing has worked
(02:33:42):
for Daniel Snyder. I'm by the way, the worst part
for Daniel Snyder is a stadium that used to be
an automatic sellout for every game, it's got a lot
of empty seats. He was sitting with his former Utah
quarterback Alex Smith in Dan Snyder's box during this game.
Am having a good old time. They took some screenshots
(02:34:03):
from the broadcast on Fox earlier and uh yeah, so look,
I mean, if there's going to be one coach in
the NFC East who's looking for a or one owner
in the NFC East who's not looking for a college coach,
another one who is. Right now, the Redskins have the
inside track on one of the more winning is coaches
in college football history, and that's Urban Meyers. All right,
(02:34:24):
The Vikings defense is held are the Chargers defense is
held against the Vikings. So the Vikings are gonna attempt
a field goal coming up here. So that Charger defense again,
is it's pretty good. I mean they they're an enigma.
I mean it's almost a team. Well, the team's an
enigma because again they are two and eight in one
(02:34:45):
score games this year. The three other wins were blowout wins,
which is why point differential their fifth in the a
f C and yet they're sitting as the twelve seed. Um.
But when you think about it, too and eight in
one score games. If you were to go across the
NFL D even out, it's pretty fifty fifty when it
comes to one score games. But when you're sitting at
(02:35:07):
two and eight in one score games. What's happening there?
Is it? The coaches at the quarterback is? I mean,
how do you explain too and eight in one score games? Well,
the execution has been absolutely got awful by the players. Uh. Now,
you can blame a lot of things, but coaches. There
hasn't been a single coach who's ever coached to fumble
(02:35:27):
the ball at the goal line. They've done that three
times going in first score at the one yard line.
The Chargers have fumbled in three games giving the ball
over to the other team, and those three games resulted
in losses by one score. Okay, Uh, red zone interceptions
has been a problem this season for Philip Rivers. There's
(02:35:47):
in a single offensive coordinator who draws it up for
you to throw out the other team when you're inside
the twenty yard line. The past protection has been tough.
There's not an offensive line coach who has taught to
give up. So the execution by the players on the field. Oh,
look at Kyler Murray. Murray a big run and he
is running through the entire Cleveland defense. Wow, listen is
(02:36:11):
what I'm talking about. This is what I'm talking about
with big run for Kyler Murray. This is a This
is a player who could take over the league like
Lamar Jackson has this year. The problem is Lamar jo
for Kyler. Lamar Jackson's on a great team with a
great defense. Kyler Murray is on a team with an
explosive offense now, but his defense has been absolutely abysmal
this season. You get him in the open field, lookout.
(02:36:33):
So a huge run by Kyler Murray, Arizona leading in
the Cleveland Browns right now by score seven and nothing
and of the first quarter. All right, we're in the
guy go. Fox Sports Radio studios. So much more. Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio coming up next over the middle,
complete first down breaks, a tackle? Will you have just
had it? For the end zone? Hey's gonna spunt in
(02:36:54):
in front of the block? Oh, high stepping Tyrrell Williams
six touchdown of the saves and the Raiders strike first.
Raiders Radio Network, Bret Musburger and amazing all these years,
Brent still doing it and you're you're looking live. Yeah,
(02:37:15):
I mean the Raiders got rid of Gregg Poppa had
been the voice for years, one of the best. He
jumps Shippy's of the forty niners right now but you
know Brent's got like this gambling business in Vegas, so
once they go to Vegas, he'll be uh. I like
guys to sort of stay in it. By the way,
Arizona fourteen nothing jumped all over the Browns early in
(02:37:36):
this game. You had Baker Mayfield turnover in the end
zone which gave the Cardinals the ball back, and they
made the Browns pay, brought it all the way down
the field and so they have that, like you mentioned,
to score lead fourteen nothing in the desert right now
over Cleveland, no score Cowboys rams. So we're off to
a slow scoring start in that one. I want to
(02:37:57):
thank Sam today for all his help. I mean, he's
all said, where is this some pink today? Pink like
real men wear pink. I like that that that's a statement.
Have you ever seen him wear pink before? Gavint No,
and hopefully this will be the last time. Okay, it's
an office shirt. It's a shirt from the the show
of the Office. From the Office. David Gascon showed up late,
(02:38:19):
but he's he's welcome, guys. Some quick news for you.
What's up Madison bum Gardner and of the desert Arizona
Diamondbacks in a five year deal. Wow, Because I had
thought he might be a perfect fit with the Dodgers
or the Pod Rays. He ends up with Arizona. So
all of a sudden, und ru is You gotta believe
(02:38:40):
the Dodgers now are scrambling to keep U if they
could lose out on bum Garner. And then you have
obviously the pod Race who would also be maybe in
the running for RU as well. They got it well,
and I mean how interesting would be inside their own
division then l west to see just sort of musical
chairs take place. You can one Gardner go to Diamondbacks potentially. Yeah,
(02:39:04):
they came out of nowhere. I I mean, I really
thought that was down between the news because this is
I don't think I've ever heard this before. The Cowboys
in their game against the Rams opted to kick the
ball and not defer, so they will kick off both halves.
Why would they do that? They opted to kick. Yeah,
so they chose to kick, meaning they had the choice,
(02:39:26):
and the Rams have the choice in the second half
and they obviously choose to receive. Well, I mean that
is completely idiotic. I mean, they're they're I mean, there's
just there's no benefit let's let's kick off both halves.
They had to have made a mistake. Somebody must have
said the wrong thing in midfield. There's no doubt in
my mind. Alright, Chargers have a second and goal. They're
inside the three yard line right now. The Vikings. Vikings
(02:39:49):
lead this game nine to three. The Rams are rooting
hard for the Chargers. The Vikings come into the day
with a one game lead over the Rams for the
final wild card spot him the NFC. And with Seattle
winning today, I mean that's that's really the last spot left,
is that last wild card spot. Bears lost today, so
(02:40:10):
they're they're done. Um, so it really comes down to
the Rams and the Vikings. With the Packers winning today.
That is Mike Williams second touchdown of the season. Wow,
I'll tell you he had zero before last week. Was crazy.
They don't throw to him every single time they're in
the low red. It shocks me because Mike Williams is
(02:40:32):
such a tall target. It's just a back shoulder fade
and he just elevates over the top of Rhodes. I
think that was in the back of the end zone.
The forty Niners and the Falcons no score in this game,
and the forty Niners offensively are doing nothing. They have
a negative nine minus two yards passing. They have a
(02:40:55):
one catch for five yards and a sack for seven,
so a negative negative two. Jimmy Garoppolo, who has looked
really good as of late. Are we all in with
Garoppolo yet? What's what's the deal? I mean, obviously wins
a lot more games than he loses. Well, he's the
franchise quarterbacks. Same conversation we're having about Carson Wentz. He's
(02:41:17):
a quarterback you absolutely can build around. Is he elite?
That remains to be seen. We're gonna find out here
pretty soon, because this is a postseason team. Whether or
not he's the man for the job. Don't judge him
early in this game, because I've actually seen him and
we've all have have kind of crumby starts and then
sort of get into the swing of things later in games.
(02:41:38):
All Right, what happened in the Charger game there? Did they? Yeah?
They say they scored there they knodded up or did
the extra point? I don't know, I don't know what
you're referring to. Did something happen? Oh no, they missed
the extra point? Yeah? Let me see here Minnesota. Yeah,
(02:41:59):
that would be they missed the extra point. I don't know,
I didn't see that. I'm very interested in this cowboy.
Dak Prescott apparently was the one who opted to kick
instead of defer. So they will kick the ball and
then the Cowboy the Rams will have the option in
the second half. I think they screwed up. They did.
I honestly think he said the wrong thing. I think
(02:42:20):
I think instead of saying we defer, he said we'll kick.
That's a huge mistake. If that's the case, I mean
that you can't make that mistake. Wow. Okay, well that
game is still scoreless right now. The Cowboys touchdown is
under review. From what I so that's the reason why
is whether or not? All right? So it is yes,
(02:42:40):
if they've taken the score off the board nine to
three Vikings. Wow, who do you like tonight? Steelers? And
I'll take the Steelers.
