Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listen to Fox Sports Radio. He's tough in the
fourth quarter. That's coming right up. But right now, it's
taught to say, wake up everybody in America. It's that time.
That's Fox Football Sunday. He's Brian. No, I'm Andy from
and by the way, we are coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. What brought you by

(00:22):
Geico fifteen minutes could save you fifteen or more on
car insurance. Visit gico dot com for a free rate quote. Now,
ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages, it is
my indeed pleasure to introduce my friend, co worker partner
Brains of the Ouphite and by the way, he is
truly the hardest working man immediate today, my guy and

(00:47):
yours the one in ol A. Brian. Now, hello, Bay,
what's going on? Andy Furman? Glad to be with you here.
Week two, Baby ball is in the air. I just
realized we have new intro music. I don't know if
that happened this week or it started last week. I
didn't notice it last week, but it's a new song
in the background. I like that. The suits are like,

(01:07):
you know what, Vito, who is our audio extraordinary. They're like, Vito,
go all out for this show. Okay, Bells and Whistle City,
let's do it. So I like that, good, good, good
work by video Vito over there, How was your week?
How was you? We gotta ask. I can breathe again
because the rain happened. Yes, oh man, the rain rolled in.

(01:30):
Because the wildfires. The hair quality was brutal. Man, it
was in the five hundreds that got into the six
hundreds here in Portland. It's supposed to be under two hundreds,
just the air quality. So it was bad. Man. One
of the guys I work with, he had to sleep
in his own place with a mask on at least
one night. It was that bad inside his own place.

(01:53):
So the rain came in and you can breathe without
inhaling smoke, So that's nice. It was very, very nice
that the rain came through. I didn't think I would
lead off a show in Portland literally giving a shout
out to rain. You know, I just shouted out, Vito.
I shouted out rain the other day. But that was
a big deal for sure. And the funny thing is,

(02:14):
I mean the smoke and the fires had to be
tremendously bad because I live in the Midwest, and we
were getting some smoke and gray skies. I think it
was basically midweek, Wednesday and Thursday, and the weather forecast
told us is coming from the West coast, so we
were getting it here as well. Not as bad obviously
as you had it, but it's pretty bad. I knew
you mentioned Week two in the NFL, and certainly we

(02:34):
were geeked up list week and I'm still keeked up
NFL football. I'm sitting here and realizing, Okay, this is
Week two and the team that I root for, the
team that I call home, is already owen to the
already owen too. All right, everybody's getting ready to play
the second game today or tomorrow night, and this team
that I call home is allen too. However, I feel
for Joe Burrow, I I really do. I mean, I

(02:57):
just hope his arm doesn't fall off one sixty one
attempts the other day. You just you can't win games
like that, You just can't. And you can't win gage
when you're on your back. Well that's true, you can't
play you can't win games when you play no defense either,
that Bengals defense. You wonder why I smack you around
when you want to talk so much Bengals football or

(03:18):
Cincinnati in general. This is exhibit A. All right, this
is why. Yeah, six point six yards per carry against
Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunts, and you didn't lay a
finger on Baker Mayfield, a legal fing finger at least, right,
you didn't knock them down one time during the whole game,
So that was a pathetic defensive effort. I think Joe

(03:41):
Burrow is shown even though it's inconsistent. You can expect
that from a rookie. Two games in you can tell
he's got something. He's got some playmaking ability. So encouraging
signs out of Burrow if you're a Bengals fan. Um.
But I think that's the only portion of the show
that you get today because stinks the Bengals. Right now,
I want to talk a little bit about college football

(04:02):
BECAUST the conference commissioners and the Big Ten. They decided
that they got to reverse their decisions and they're gonna
play football is full and they say quote to return
to competition so all student athletes can realize their dream
of competing in the sports that they love. But as
we speak right now, you and me, Brian know as
we speak, members of the men's and women's cross country teams,

(04:24):
the women's field hockey and volleyball teams, another so called
non revenue sports won't be having their dreams. Realize this
full don't these students athletes want to compete in the
sports they love. You know what, don't they come out
and tell us the truth. Major college football is a
multibillion dollar money machine for the universities and their decision
to play was an economic choice playing and simple say it.

(04:47):
I want to hear it. Say it. Well, they're not
going to we know that's one of the main motivating factors.
Yet you'll hear coaches Nick Saban has said this, it's
for the kids. You'll hear a lot of administrators say
the same thing. It's the kids, the kids, the kids.
It's like the old trick Daddy song, trick love the kids.
You know, like coaches are saying this, the powers that

(05:09):
be you're saying is, of course, we know the money
is tied to it. It's a huge, huge factor. It's
not just the kids and being able to compete. It's
a money maker. It's a money generating sport. So yeah,
if you think that had nothing to do. Kevin Warren
said that the Big Ten commissioner. He was like, it's
about the kids competing, and yeah, that it's part of it,

(05:32):
but to completely leave out money, that's just crazy to me.
We know that's one of the main factors. But I
am happy they're playing and they're gonna start out, and
I think this Thursday, they Packed twelve is gonna vote
and they're gonna follow in. They're gonna play as well,
you know. They although there's some some handcuffs. I think
in the state of California, what's gonna happen. I don't
know if they can, but I think they'll vote to play,
that's for sure, right. Yeah, the the state governors in Oregon,

(05:56):
in California, Kate Brown, Gavin Newsome, they've given the thumbs
up to begin practices, but it's got to be approved
on a local level. The local health officials have to
give them the heads up for contact practices and all
of that. I think it'll happen. I think it's just
a matter of time. But yeah, it's not just up
to the Pack twelve for the Big Ten. It's beyond that, right,

(06:17):
it's uh state governors, it's local health officials. It's all
that stuff. So there's more than just one conference commissioner
that has to give the thumbs up. There are more
layers than that, right, And you would think that maybe
the college conferences took a little bit of a wink
and peak at the NFL, saying, look, if these guys
can make it happen, maybe we can make it happen

(06:38):
as well. However, you and I both know there's a
lot of hot bits out there. University Park, Penn State,
and Michigan they shut it down for two weeks. Michigan
State they shut it down for COVID. So I keep
my fingers crossed, my eyes crossed, my tourist cross that
they can in fact get through this season. Well, yeah, absolutely,
anybody with you know, a kind heart would want the

(06:59):
same thing. You don't want any long term effects. And
I just hope it works out. I really do, and
I'm I'm looking forward to also when we can start
to focus on the field. Most of this stuff has
been about should the Big ten play, should the Pact twelve?
Should they not? What's the deal that most of the
focus has been on COVID and the impact the virus

(07:21):
has had on the season we need. Man, this last
college football schedule, this last weekend, you gotta plug your
nose when you even talk about it. It's freaking brutal.
You had eight of the top ten teams not play
this last week and the only two teams that did
you had Clemson shut out the Citadel and Notre Dame

(07:41):
one fifty two to nothing against South Florida. You had
ki kuwalk games. There's just not much excitement on the
field yet. But the SEC teas it up next week.
That's gonna be a big deal for college think about that. Yeah,
I couldn't tell you when. I'm not sure. It's probably
when they played Alabama tough in the first half. It

(08:03):
was a couple of years ago, and that was about it.
I flipped over. I was like, what's the score again?
But yeah, I really don't go out of my way
to watch the Citadel. It's it's not something I normally do. Right,
and we roll along right now. You talk about hats
off right now to the NBA because what they did
with this bubble situation. I'm so happy because these games
have been tremendous. I mean every game that I've watched

(08:25):
Denver coming back never coming back last night the Celtics,
they had a heartbreak of the other night against the Heat.
They went last night one seventeen, one o six. But
here's the thing. I want to just just say this
from my heart of hearts. Players that give it all,
leave the blood and sweat and tears on the court,
the Jimmy Butler's of the world. And now I'm gonna
add to that group. Marcus Smart of the Boston Celtics,

(08:45):
who scored twenty. He went something like nine for nine
from the foul line in the fourth quarter, ten for
ten overall, and they'd like five guys in double figures.
I see a guy and it's obviously it's playoff basketball.
You see the sen two teams playing in January, they
wouldn't give you this effort. But playoff basketball is a
different element and they've taken up a notch. But I
loved watching these games. Um yeah, like it's been awesome.

(09:09):
There have been some high quality playoff games. I love
that the Nuggets came back and punked the Clippers. I
loved it at the time, But man, I missed the
Clippers not being in the Western Conference Finals because the
storylines that we would have had with Kauai and Paul
George and company going up against lebron A d and
the Lakers. It's too bad that the Clippers got punked

(09:30):
that way, because even if you had Lakers Clippers the
game one result, right, Like, let's say the Lakers crushed
the Clippers, just like the Lakers crushed the Nuggets in
Game one, with it being Lakers Nuggets, it's like, yeah,
shrug your shoulders. If it's Lakers Clippers and there's a blowout,
there's still a ton of storylines. It's just different without

(09:53):
the Clippers being there. You're exactly right, and I look,
whatever happens happens. I mean, I had no idea that
Miami's to make it to the Eastern Finals, which they
may very well do. But you know, we're looking at
teams they're there, You're talking NBA Finals. They might make
it there, but they're in the Eastern Conference, I mean
the championship round for the final, for the final final, right,
you know, but you know I'm looking at Toronto. They

(10:15):
had gone, Milwaukee's gone, so you know, really it's kind
of a crapshoot. And I had no idea Denver was
gonna come out of the blue. I think I picked
Utah in that deal, in that playoff series, so it's
gonna I picked the Clippers to win it all. I
think I think I did. I go back, I think
I did. But you pick Milwaukee to win it all? Yeah?
Hashtag fear the Deer. And they didn't even make it
to the Eastern Conference finals. So it's been fun. It's

(10:35):
been a little wacky, unpredictable. So I love this this
playoff basketball um just spinning it forward. I hope that
the Lebron haters aren't out in full force if if
the Lakers win a championship, you know they're gonna be
a lot of people saying, well I didn't face the Clippers,
Well he didn't face the Bucks. There gonna be a

(10:56):
lot of yet the way, if they lose, they'll hate him,
and if they win, they they hate him. So you
know he can't win. And I think part of the
hatred is not from his basketball skill. It's from his
political stance and what he does on Twitter. I really
believe that. But you know it's crazy if you just
look at this nugget series with the Lebron naysayers, this
is just it shows how nuts it is if it's

(11:18):
a hard fought series. Let's say the Lakers pull it
out and it's a tough six game series, there's some uh,
you know, you kind of wonder during the series here
the Lakers gonna be able to pull this out, and
they eventually do. I think that ultimately would be better
for Lebron not receiving as much criticism of, well, he
didn't have to play the Clippers. Isn't that crazy? If

(11:40):
the Lakers just waltz their way to a gentleman sweep,
I think there will be even more noise about not
facing the Clippers. And I don't think it should be
that way. I'm just saying it would go that way.
He's something. I mean, he's a focal point. He rarely is.
He's the villain, and people like to attack the villain.
And you know, the added baggage of obviously is the
remarks that he makes politically, and that's gonna hurt a

(12:01):
lot of people don't like them for that. But again,
you got to separate that a lot of people can't.
And I do think it's just a wonderful player to
watch playing basketball and take the political garbage and throw
it away. But people can't. That's just the way it is.
You know, I mentioned coming into this segment tough on
the fourth quarter. Let me just mention this before we
roll along here, because last week the Brown the Bears

(12:21):
beat the Lions. Mitch trobitsk if all people brings them
back three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. But look, I mean, look,
they beat the Lions, but still it was a pretty
good game. And then the Giants are playing the Bears
today and I think the Bears is obviously gonna roll
over the Giant. Giants are terrible. I mean, it's amazing.
I have two teams in New York that just both stink.
They really do. But I just had to give a
little hats off and a little pat on the back

(12:42):
that Mitch Robinsky, who's gotten a lot of heat as well.
But three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to bring the
Bears back, well, first off, I disagree with you. I
don't know why you would think the Bears would roll
over anybody. They're the Bears right today with the Giants
and nobody. That's the differences. Not I don't care, I
I really don't care. Like the Bears are not that
great of a team where I picked them to roll

(13:05):
over anyone. I don't think the Giants are that bad
where so I disagree. I think it's gonna be a
closer game today. The Bears, by the way, they're one
in six against the spread in their past seven games
as a favorite, so case in point, they're not rolling
rolling over teams. I don't think they're gonna cover the
spread today. We'll see what happens. But I can't believe

(13:25):
right before the show, our guy Chris we gotta smack
him around and Bronx talk a little bit because I
was like, dude, what happened to your Lions man? And
he was like DeAndre Swift, We just we can't fault
this young man with a good heart and him dropping
the game winning touchdown past like that. I'm like, what
do you talk? Of course we can. He's a pro.

(13:45):
The balls in your hands, you gotta catch it. Yeah,
And he was like and he made a decent point
where it shouldn't have come down to that, but it did.
Like Mitch Robinsky channeled his inner Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun
Watson who were selected after him, and he looked like
a number two overall pick. He looked like the guy
the bears hoped he would turn out to be so

(14:06):
props to him. You point the finger at Matt Patricia
and the defense and all that stuff. It shouldn't have
come down to that, but it did. And Swift gagged
at the end. You gotta call him out for that,
and our guy Chris is like, oh no, this is
a proud American hero, this DeAndre Swift. We can't do
something like that. We'll get him. We'll get him in
Bronx Talk. We really will. We always do what we

(14:26):
probably will. By the way, speaking of Lina's Bronx Talk
Radio in this hour with the amazing Chris p Alur
number two, bon and barrel betting and of course nose
picks an our number three. And you can get to
us seven anytime you like on Twitter at the No
Show and we show at Andy Furman f s A
will read them, if worthy will retweet them, we'll get
us by phone age seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

(14:47):
That translates to eight seven seven nine nine six three
six nine. Now they have the twelfth Man today. We'll
explain that next. Don't listen Fox Sports. Here you go,
no chance here, no chance. We'll get to that just
about a minute twenty one past the hour. This is
Fox Football Sunday. He's probably no. I'm Andy Fermin, and

(15:10):
we're live from the GACA Fox Sports Radio Studios. Get
us on Twitter at the No Show at Andy Fermin
FSR or eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven sixty sixty nine, and about fifteen minutes we'll
have Bronx Talk Radio. But right now football, it's ball time, baby,
ball time. That's what it is, all right, fall yes,

(15:31):
it does. I was shocked that the Cowboys lost to
the Rams list week. I really was. Cowboys on one
the hosting the founton was their own. Yeah, I was,
I really was. I thought the Cowboys win that game.
I really did. I just I just I think that
the Rams are one of those teams that they're up
and down. You don't know what you're gonna get on
a different on a daily Sunday. And I think that
the Cowboys just have better players. I think they were

(15:52):
better team. I was shocked that they lost, and they
only lost by three, but still I lost. Yeah, I don't.
I don't get the shock factor out of you. Yeah, yeah, strong,
this is very strong, strong out of the gate here.
But a game could have gone either way. The offensive
past interference on Michael Gallup. I call him Jalen, James Hardy,

(16:13):
James Harden Ramsey. Now he sold it like James Harden,
like the Beard would sell a foul. Right, That's what
Jalen Ramsey did. I thought it was the right call
because if a defender does the same exact thing, it's
past interference without a question. So for Michael Gallop to
extend his arm the way he did, I thought it

(16:35):
was the right call. I thought Ramsey sold it. If
the call goes the other way, the Cowboys might end
up winning that game. That was a monstrous call at
the time. Um, but Rams pull it out in their
new place and we'll see what they do today against
the Eagles. But yeah, Cowboys at home. They need this game.
They're really banged up. That's the thing coming from that game.

(16:56):
Like Jarwin goes down, vander Esh goes down, many people down.
Lyell Collins hasn't played this year. Sean Lee, who's a
sadly it's a great football player. He's a walking injury.
He's down for right now. So the Cowboys being undermanned,
I wonder if that bites him again today. Can you
imagine the conversation if the Cowboys lose at home and
start off Owen too. I don't see that happening, but

(17:18):
I think thanks to the lack of secondary with the Falcons.
But I will say this that Cowboys do have a
bit of an advantage. I said the twelfth Man, Well,
then one of the few teams that are gonna be
playing in front of fans today, and I think that's
gonna help. I don't know how much it's gonna help,
but I think it always does help. But the Seattle team, man,
they gave up thirty eight last week to Seattle, and uh,
the Falcons, I mean their defense is just bad. I
mean it was thirty one. The thirty one against the

(17:41):
Falcons last week. I believe it was something like that.
So the Falcons have to just show up the defense,
and I think the Cowboys will exploit them in the secondary.
And I'm sure the run game with Elliott as well well.
I know they won by double digits. I think you're
talking about Russell Wilson being thirty one for thirty five
throwing the football. I don't think there's thirty five the
final score. I think it was, Yeah, but hey, the Falcons.

(18:04):
You're right, they're not exactly the five Bears out there,
so you would expect the Cowboys offense to pick it
up against that Falcons defense today. The question is how
many points are going on the scoreboard, because although the
Rams only scored twenty points, that was not a pretty
effort from the Cowboys defense, and they're even more banged

(18:25):
up now heading into this game against a much more
prolific offense. I think with the Falcons um compared to
the Rams, the Rams are up and down. You're right,
but you look at the Falcons. They have three one
yard receivers last week against the Seahawks. They can throw
for some yards, they can put up the points, So
it might be a shootout today, could be sounds sounds

(18:46):
like you're leaning towards the Falcons, you know, I like
the Cowboys at home. I just think it's gonna be
a higher scoring game. Yeah, I like the Cowboys that
I think it'll be something like that. I think they
may put out thirty five or more the Cowboys today,
but I think the Falcon is gonna put up over
twenty as well. So I think you're right. I think
the over another's got to be close to sixty today. Yeah,
well the betting line is fifty four. So you're saying

(19:09):
if you're you're expecting sixty combined, Well, yeah, we gotta
hit up Vegas real quick. Right, Yeah, we'll see what happens. Now,
it's time to attack our guy, Crisp. Because the Lions
are played at Green Bay. The Lions owen one Packers
one of the Lions. You please, I mean, if you
watch this game, can you please protect Matthew Stafford? Really?

(19:29):
I mean, last week the Bears Lions has scored just
two touchdowns on five trips into the red zone. And
I think that the coach of the Lions could be
getting ready to package. I hope he's renting. And I
hope he didn't buy a home. I hope he's renting.
I really do. Yeah, it's bad when you get the
vote of confidence after one week. That's that's not good.
I think it could be it could be waving bye

(19:49):
by and today, uh Packers who scored forty three points
last week beating the Vikings over five total yards. It
could get ugly today. It really could in Green Bay.
You know, I think, will we go any further on
this show? We should hear from our technical technical producer extraordinaire,
Mr Crisp Because I'm telling you, Andy, he thought I
was I was reporting fake news over here. He was

(20:14):
the first thing I said, like, dude, you're Lions. We
shouldn't we shouldn't fault DeAndre Swift. I mean this guy, Like,
what are you talking about here? He dropped the winning touchdown?
How can you not fault him? But he's loyal, you
see I I give him a little bit of a
star they have because he's loyal. I didn't no, no, okay,
what did you say, Chris. I didn't say he was
completely blameless. I just think that the blame is overshadowed

(20:37):
by the fact that there there you need to play
some more blame on Matt Patricia and the coaching staff.
That he even got to a point where you have
to say, hey, rookie, we know you had a goal
line touchdown earlier, but here, quick catch this pass here
with six seconds left to save the game. Man, Like
why Patricia, come on, I'm me really, Because he went

(21:01):
out after the game and and looked at the and
looked at the press and said, well, you can't really
criticize me because I had the best play call in
the fourth quarter of a Super Bowl, and he was
talking about in against the Seahawks when he was with
the Patriots, and no one cares. They care about that game.
They care about that game last week. They don't care
about You know, he may be looking at his scrap

(21:22):
books after today if he loses today, because he may
be packing his bags and going. He's not getting it done.
He has not gotten it done in Detroit. Admit that.
I know you're a loyal Lions fan, and I command
you for that. Really, no I thought I I did
not like the Higher when the Lions made the Higher.
I run a Lions podcast. I've been running it for
five years and I've been on the record from day one.
I did not think it was a great higher. He

(21:42):
has not shown me anything. And honestly, there's been no
progress in Detroit. And you've wasted three years that you
have with MAP with Matthew Stafford, he's not getting any younger.
He's over thirty. Now. You've chased off a lot of
great talent like Darius Slay because you have this idea
of a system. You've hired a lot of former pat
It's that you know this is a deep deep dive.

(22:03):
This is a deep deep dive on Detroit Lions football.
Over here, Crisp, what are you doing to us? Huh,
I'm doing I'm doing exactly what Andy does every week
when he starts talking about I know, I'm starting to
scratch my neck in uncomfortable fashion, thinking that, Waite, how
do I get involved in this? Wait just a minute.
You know what, it's your fault. And yeah, you're blaming
everybody but the party that should be blamed. You're blaming me,

(22:25):
You're blaming matt Patricia, You're blaming everyone. You're going back
to get your head on screwed on straight. He dropped
the pass and lost the game. Yes, that's it, that's right.
A little blame for DeAndre Swift. That's all we ask.
That's all. Yeah, I just say he dropped the pass,
and then you know I I gave some blame to him.
Absolutely well, that's what I wanted to hear. And look,
we got a guy on Twitter, Thomas Thomas, number one

(22:48):
Lions fan on Twitter, is I'm going to defend Chris.
The Lions lost thirty six percent of the defense by
the fourth quarter. Matthew Stafford made a couple of bonet snakes.
Nobody has mentioned everything Mitched Rabitsky did after the Lions.
What does he talk? I'm come on, and it's great.
It's great that these guys are Lions fans, and I
love that. You know, fans are great. They really are.
Through thick or thin, They'll run through fire. But look,

(23:10):
the team stinks and the coaches got one foot in
the grave. Really, that's what it's all about. Yeah, it's
just you gotta channel your inner Bronx every now and then.
You know, I don't think you have to just crush
everybody and be this nasty. This guy stakes, that guy stinks.
Everybody stinks. But if DeAndre Swift drops a ball like that,
you gotta call him out to some degree in that

(23:32):
are well, they should have been in that position and
well this it's like, dude, you're a professional player. You
gotta make that play. Stafford through a gorgeous pass, you
gotta catch it. That. That's it. We're not getting personal
and the story. He's Brian Noham, Andy Ferman And by
the way, this is Fox Football Sunday, and one of
these teams will still be winless today. Will tell you

(23:53):
which one next but first guy, Brian Finlay with the lady, Hey, hey,
vomiting Andy. By the way, last week, you took a
shot at my athletic abilities. You said you were better
at sports than me. No, no, no, no. I said,
if we had ten sports to choose from, and I

could pick the ten sports, I could probably beat you
when seven out of the tens. Well, you also said
anything athletic, Yeah you did. You could beat him anything.
Here's how it goes, and the listeners need to know this.
Just because you wear a cup every day doesn't mean
you already qualified sportsman. That's not Could you give me
one favorite? Could when you talk about me on these airways,

(24:35):
could you speak about me above the waist, above the
waist from that on, because it always goes from the
waist below when you start talking about me. Really, I
want to appreciate that. Say what you want about me,
call me names, I don't care, but making above the
waist right, all right, dad, I'll do that next. The Celtics,
channeling their anger following the game to loss into a

(25:00):
beat down of the Heat one seventeen, one oh six
in Game three of the Eastern Conference Finals, Miami still
up to one Jalen Brown, leading the Celts with twenty
six points. He attacked the rim with ferocity, according to
multiple outlets. The Bears standing off a three year extension
to running back Terrik Cohen valued as much as eighteen

(25:20):
million dollars, About nine and a half million of that
is fully guaranteed. NFL Network has learned Lions wide out
Kenny Golladay, who will miss today's game with a hamstring issue,
is looking at returning next week. Saints wide receiver Michael
Thomas is a no go today with an ankle issue.
NFL Network also noting Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton, dealing

(25:42):
with an injury and a c joint sprain, has a
strong shot of playing, and the team will determine his
playing status on how he looks during pregame warm ups.
Golden Tate slotted to get in for the Giants as
he makes his season debut recovering from a hamstring issue.
The Bears expected acting to play Robert Quinn, who missed
Week one with a bum ankle, and Patriots wide receiver

(26:05):
Julian Edelman No Andy not. Patriots quarterback Julian Edelman and
Nicquilarry will be good to go today despite injuries, and finally,
twenty one year old Matthew Wolf shoots to Saturday sixty
five years a two shot lead at the US Open
with one round to play. Andy Furman at twenty one
years old, just still getting into legos, so big difference there.

(26:29):
Back to Andy Ferman and Brian No. I've been probably
ten inches all my life. Here we go, let's talk
about that in about an hour. It's all about the heat.
Will get to that in just about a minute thirty
three minutes past hour. This is Fox Football Sunday. He's
Brian No, I'm Andy Fermin and welcome to the Fox
Pots Radio Studios, brought to you by Geico. It's easier
to save fift more on car insurance with Gigota Gako
dot com. Well call a hundred nine four seven at all.

(26:52):
The only hard part figuring out which way is easy.
And of course we do have Bronx Talk Radio with
the amazing Chris pe the Detroit Lions Homer unless ten
minutes now, he's gonna apologize for DeAndre Swift in a
Bronx accent here in a few minutes. I'm I'm curious
if that's gonna happen. We we'll find that out, thank you.
This isn't a big game, the Vikings Colts game. Really,

(27:14):
I mean, you know, on paper Vikings, I mean it's
gonna be a real good game. Both teams win one
looking for the first win. Vikings list to Green Bay
last week. Colts lost to Jacksonville of all people last week.
But the Vikings they gotta get they gotta get some
involvement in the tight end situation. They really do. And
that's my guy from Elder High School, Kyli Rudo, if
he's got to get involved in the offense a little more.
And I'll tell you what a lot of people are

(27:35):
looking at the Colts to win this game. Really they really,
I mean looking at the line they said the Colts
by three the last time I took a look. I
like the Colts today because the main reason the Vikings
got no heat on Aaron Rodgers last week, and the
Colts have an even better offensive line. So if you
can't get any heat on Rogers, I don't know how

(27:56):
much heat you're gonna get on Philip Rivers. So that
it's one of the main reasons that I like the
Colts today. And I understand losing to Jacksonville. This happens
all the time. Andy. It's these knee jerk reactions of
what happened the previous week as if it's automatically going
to happen again, and that's just not how the NFL rolls. Man. So,

(28:17):
I think that the Colts did a lot of good
things last week. I think it was more alarming for
the Vikings to give up forty three points to Aaron Rodgers.
Their secondary got absolutely torched. So we know, styles make fights.
It's not all about what happened last week. But I
think that the Colts rebound today. I like him today.
I think be a close game though, but I think

(28:39):
I'm with you. I like the cults in this game.
Although the cults right now Marlon Mack, I mean, he's
gone for the years. So that Jonathan Tarrell, he's gonna
get a lot of the carries, I guess. But Philip Rivers,
he's got to get the A. T Y Hilton involved
in the offense a little bit more too so and
in a couple of drops t Y, it is not
a good week one for him. Yeah, But uh, I
agree with you with Jonathan Taylor. You gotta get him

(28:59):
going losing Marlon Mack. That's a blow. But I think
with that old line you can still run the ball effectively.
I just love their old line collectively led by Quintin Nelson.
He is just a freaking road grader, you know. So
I think that Look, this is the question going in.
Will Philip Rivers look like the twenty nineteen version of himself?

(29:22):
And one game in he did. He threw for a
lot of yardage, but a couple of shaky decisions, a
couple of interceptions, and you lose to Jacksonville. Um, so
they gotta get on the board today. It is a
big game in Week two for both teams. You don't
want to drop to Owen two to start off the season, right.
I tell you what, there's a team here that may
drop with went too, and it's your team. But I

(29:43):
got to admit I was wrong. I thought the Dolphins
would beat the Patriots last week. I was adamant about that.
I went crazy. I said, right the charge like saying
they were gonna be a top five defense, and all
I was like to push back and be like, whoa, Andy,
this is a little watch over. You put me in
an awkward position, Like I went back to check to

(30:03):
see what I drank or eight before the show. I
don't know really, I mean, come on, I had a
urine test after the show as well. But that Dolphins
lost one eleven at New England. That Bills beat the Jets,
but everybody beats the Jets seventeen. But what a dreadful team.
By the way, the Jets are freaking brude. You know,
in New York City, you can go to the telephone
book eleven guys that could play just as well. Pick

(30:25):
eleven names out of the phone book that could do
I'm telling you they can. You know, if you get
a phone book with the age limit maybe from like
twenty five to thirty three. You know, in an age
like group like that, guys, they could do just as well.
They're terrible, they really are. But we'll see what happens.
But look, I think that Dolphins don't have a shot
in this one. However, come on, that's crazy. Well look,

(30:45):
I'm afraid to pick after one game from top five defense,
Dolphins taken down the Patriots and you were wrong. Now
you're swinging the other one. No chance, Okay, I'm gonna, okay,
I'm gonna, I'm gonna be logical here. Defense and turnovers
have become a big deal for the Dolphins this year.
And I still like the defense, and I think that

(31:06):
perhaps perhaps the heat that I said this coming into
the segment could be a factor for the Bills coming
to Miami today. And I'll tell you what, I'm picking
the Dolphins again. I'm going with the Dolphins at a
close one. I'm going with the Dolphins today. Are all
over the place here. You went from no chance to
your picking the Dolphins. I'm going with the Dolphins. I

(31:26):
think they can I think they can get a couple
of turnovers. And I think it's not so much the
Dolphins winning as much as the Bills losing. Going into
that Miami heat, they're gonna be exhausted by the third quarter. Well, okay,
a couple of things with this one. The Dolphins gave
up two hundred and seventeen rushing yards last week to
the Patriots, so they gotta be a lot better today.

(31:47):
And how about this, Josh Allen, This is a good
streak that was snapped by the Bills. It was a
horrible streak, so it was good for them that they
snapped it. Get this Andy fifty one straight games. This
includes two playoff losses. Fifty one straight games the Bills
didn't have a three hundred yard passer and Josh Allen
threw for over three hundred yards last week against the

(32:09):
stinky Jets, So that's a long stor think about that
just reaching three hundred yards in a game could be
a blowout loss that you suffer and you accumulate a
bunch of garbage time passing yards. Fifty one games, they
hadn't reached a three hundred yards with a single passer
in a game. That's crazy. Yeah, but that streak is snapped,

(32:30):
and we'll see if Josh Allen with Stefon Diggs, if
that Bill's passing game can be a lot more consistent
this year. There you go. You know my day is made.
You know what because not only is he a friend
of our show, he's from my hometown in Brooklyn. I
haven't heard from me in a while. He won't say
a little both of us, I guess everybody here. Marcel Fox, Hello, Marcel,
I'm back to have football on Sunday. And and Bryan,

(32:54):
good morning to you both. Goo, good morning to you too, Marcel.
You've been good. Everything fine with the you Yeah, it
is a okay, there is no l No, that's right,
he said it right. That's good house in Brooklyn. Marcel A, Okay, yes,
the sunny is gonna be rising up this morning after

(33:16):
the weeks and months of protests destroying our my hometown
of the of my home, my hometown of Brooklyn, where
if they may ask, what neighborhood do you live in?
I'm just curious because I'm from Brooklyn, you know. Well,
believe it or not, Andy, I'm in Gravesand by the way, Marcella,

(33:39):
what do you make a firman saying that your giants
have no shot today against the Bears, as if they're
the five Bears, right, they're not. They're Bears and they
can be had even like North Tash Chicago Bears. Well, yes, indeed,
wait a minute, Brian, what do you say. I'm saying

(34:00):
you giants have a chance today, giants have a chance
against the Bears, and Andy is saying they don't. Yeah,
Teddy dimes will be Teddy dimes. We'll be taken on Chicago.
You know the game times at one o'clock Easterton on CBS, CBS.
There you go. I think the Bears are favored by

(34:21):
five and a half or six, depending on which rides
line you look. Yeah, and congrats gentlemen to the college
football side, Mike, Clemson Tigers. The street goes on against
Citadel yesterday. Three straight games at home. It's the largest
or longest active home winning street in our country. They

(34:44):
could have beat the Citadel ten on eleven. Believe right. Okay,
let's get all right, have a great week March. We'll
talk to you know Sunday. All right, he how do you?
How dare you interrupt me? I'm sorry, Seahawks. I'm just

(35:07):
gonna assume that he was going Seahawks. Well, he could
send us a tweet that we can read the tweet
later on. He's probably no, I'm Andy Firman. This is
Fox Football Sunday. And you never know where he's going,
but he always ends up in the Bronx Bronx Talk radio.
It's freaking next. Don't listen, mate, the Fox Sports Radio
Bronx Talk Radio right around the corner, about eleven minutes before,

(35:29):
at the top of the hour, this is Fox Football Sunday.
He's probably no, I'm Andy Ferman. What are we waiting for?
Let's kind of the Bronx guys, it's time to channel
your inner New York Here. We want to hear all
the rationalities you can spew on the hottest topics of
the day. Here's something we like to call Bronx Talk Radio,

(35:57):
posted by the Great Crispy Hey. Welcome to the Freaking
Bronx over here. Huh well you guys up to today?
Uh feeling good? Anticipating you taken up for DeAndre Swift?
About I am? I am right now a character from
the Freaking Bronx, which is in New York. The only
thing I care about is the fact that the Yankees
are beating the Red Sox with twelve straight freaking games

(36:19):
over here, your accent together, I do. How my Bronx
sent freaking together? If you want to go see some
freaking lions, we got some of the Bronx suit. How
about that? Not bad? Not bad? That's the real fast.
The Pronx Palmer is a back huh singleating you're kidding me? Yes, absolutely,

(36:40):
you better get it on here. We're gonna have freaking
playoffs coming up here, and they're gonna be in it,
and we're gonna be talking about the Yankee But a
weird freaking season for the pin stripes. Huh, they couldn't
bio win for I don't know how long the losing
streak was. Now, the winning streaks about ten games been
a weird yeah, weird streaking. Every streak though, up and down,
left and right. You know it's it happens here. But

(37:03):
we're looking up. We're looking freaking up right now, Brian,
that's what we got. Blue Sky is gonna open up
over here, sing on a happy day whatever. I don't
know how the song goes. I barely even know freaking
English over here. Uh, let's talk about someone who's crying
besides you, guys, O session with DeAndre Swift. Uh, Lebron James.
He is crying over here about being second in m

(37:25):
v P voting. He's saying he is, he's piste off,
He's very mad. What do you guys have to say
for Lebron? Buttonett buttonet, Lebron, close the pie hole. No
one's interested. You didn't win it, and you're taking away
from your honest Johannest earned it, Jannest deserved it. I
look at it differently. I can understand why he's ticked off.
I have no issue with him saying he's ticked off

(37:47):
and maddest to him. He wants to win the award.
There's nothing wrong with that. I think the voters got
it right, though jan has had a better year. He
was the defensive Player of the Year, he had the
best efficiency rating of all time, and a lot of
people have amnesia. It's a regular season award. Of course
Yannis didn't get get it done in the playoffs, but
that has no bearing on the regular award. It should
have gone to Jane. They voted on that m v

(38:09):
P before the teams even went to the bubble real life,
and Yannas playing on the worst team as far as
personnel did Rond did. He's got no Anthony Davis over there,
and no one's taking a whole stretch of the normal
season off. What do you want us to do? Huh?
I'm down having red wine and that he's out there bawling.
I didn't take that many games off over there. He's

(38:29):
not Kauai with the That's very true with Lebron. Yeah,
he's bawling. He had a great year, no doubt credit
though he did praise Janice. He said, he said, you're
honest deserved it in a sense. In his sense, he
said it. But then he said he's a he's a
little piste off and he didn't get it. Well, he's
mad that he didn't get more votes, that's the main. Yeah,
he was mad he only got sixteen first placed votes. Well,

(38:53):
let's talk about a guy who's not piste off at
taking an l uh we like the fights of a
he and the Bronx Gary old mere Shark. I gotta
be careful how I say that. In the UFC, he
was up against Khamzad. To me, in the UFC, he
got knocked out real freaking quick over here. But you
know what, my man, he owned up to it. He
owned up to and he went on Twitter afterwards he said,

(39:15):
well royally bleeped that up. You know that would be
the last thing I would do if I got beat
up is go on Twitter and tell everybody. I get
myself a cold drink, put some ice on my head,
and go to bed. Listen to you. You act like
we didn't all see that on TV across the country.
Why is he putting it on Twitter? I mean, I

(39:36):
think it's kind of stupid. And then it happens in
the UFC there's quick knockouts that the first time won't
be the last time. So I have no ways here
with them going on Twitter and saying that, well, let's
let's move from another knockout to our main knockout story
over here. Hey, we got a guy being freaking dukes
of hazard over here up in Detroit. Of course, a
car story from Detroit, not about DeAndre Swift, but this guy.

(39:59):
He he was driving in his Dodge Sedan and he's
going near a freaking drawbridge. The operator of the drawbridge
sees him coming, stops raising the drawbridge. He's not slowing down,
the drawbridge is going up. He decides to go all
freaking dukes of has it and he hal blues Brothers
whatever you want to say. He chumps his Dodge Sedan

(40:21):
over the freaking drawbridge. Did he get there? He made it.
He blew out all four tires, He smashed into the
first armbar down, buckled the windshield of his car. He
was fine and immediately and very soon after arrested. I
just wanted it was the same music from the Dukes
that has It, like the you know this, the little

(40:44):
that in his head. You know, he absolutely heard that
his head. He heard Whale and Jenn and saying well,
you know this is just another prowl over there chasing him. Yeah.
Fox Sports, the clock will make the difference. That's coming
right up. But right now it's time to say, everybody up,

(41:08):
Do I hear everything? Thank you very I don't know
what that was, but at least it's a sound effect. Okay, hey,
it's that time. It's Fox Football. Thank you. Grunt. That's
a grunt, Fox Football Sundays. This is Fox Football Sunday
on Fox Sports Radio. And of course, without further ado,
let me introduce my friend, my pal, my co worker,

(41:31):
the brains of the Altfred, the man who makes it happen,
the hardest working man and show business today, the one
and only Mr Brian No. Hello, how's it going, Andy Furman?
Every thank yes week two getting into it. Can't wait
until next week as well, when we get teams that

(41:51):
are actually good playing other teams that are good in
college football, and we can react to that a little bit.
I honestly I said this last night doing the show
with the from salam I forgot there was college football
on yesterday. I honestly did. I woke up and I
was like, uh, all right, maybe I'll put a baseball
game in the background. I turned on the TV there
was a football game. I'm like, oh, yeah, there's college

(42:14):
football today. That was my reaction yesterday. They're just there
weren't many good games. One ranked versus ranked game, like
two ranked teams in the same game. That was it.
Everybody else most of the teams were on a bye week,
so I can't wait for next What about your not
youre Dame fighting Irish roll over USF and I say,
that's University of South Florida And that was a yawner.

(42:36):
It was a boring game, you know, Props to the
Irish love that they wanted a blowout, Like Devin just
it wasn't interesting. Yeah, I don't know what those games
accomplished when you think about I mean, not your Dame
obviously the divide for a national championship every single year
playing USF, which basically you know, it's just hoping to
win in the conference really and the only thing that
those games could accomplish really is injury. I mean, I

(42:59):
don't of what it does. It's very bad a handicappers
and betters. You can't been on a game like that.
How many points you're gonna given that game? Thirty points?
Thirty five. When did get in that game? Um, I
don't I'd have to look it up, but it wasn't
that much. But I know that the the total was
forty and it was a fourth and goal for Notre

(43:20):
Dame at the us F five yard line and they
punched it in for the over to hit and I
was like, oh man, that either made someone's day or
royally ticked off other people with him scoring like that.
But yeah, like listen, those big points spread games, some
of those are I have trouble with those lines. But
the people that are are sharp, that's their go to.

(43:43):
Certain people love those. But what about our national champions
Central Florida team all over Georgia. I'm glad you brought
them Central Florida. You know they're gonna raise another panel
for that. Yeah, I'm glad you brought it up. I
heard from some of the u c F honks out there,
which is like, Brian, look at this, take it out

(44:03):
of Power five team. Here's the deal. I will give
UCF credit when they do something that is worth me
giving them credit. Beating Georgia Tech, who is a bottom
Power five bottom feeder, that's not it. I just I
don't like I'm not against the little guys. I'm not
against the group of five teams. But you've got to

(44:24):
do something legit to get credit for it. Beating Georgia
Tech is not it. No, I'm lithy. I mean, look
on the resume, it looks good because they did be
the Power five, But you know, did the direck of
the Power five that that's what they are and the
conference they really are Georgia's take. Look as far as
Georgia's text concern, I think of geeks, I think a
smart people. I don't think of football. Every once in

(44:46):
a while to come up with a good football team,
but year in and year round, you don't look at
Georgia Tech as a football power. They're certainly not a power.
And by the way, Notre Dame was favored by twenty
three yesterday if you're curious about it. It was a
little curious on the total nine depending on when you
got it where you got it. But yeah, Notre Dame
with about two minutes to go, punched it in on

(45:08):
fourth and goal from the five, and I was like,
oh boy, had uh ticked off a lot of people
with that late touchdown. If you're gonna see a lot
of schools kind of like feeling their way around this
first week. When I say that, I look at that
Oklahoma State Tulsa game. Tulsa game everything they can. They
lost with sixteen seven, but still in all Oklahoma stake
out a scape. But I don't think you're gonna see

(45:29):
that next week when Oklahoma State plays, because I think
you gotta get the kinks out. You know, they're playing
for the first time, but you know Tulsa's obviously want
to beat in state rival Oklahoma State, but certainly better
players are at Oklahoma State than Tulsa. Well, I think
they're gonna have some Just in general and college football,
there are gonna be some wild outcomes because I just
think of any normal season, it's typically the injury bug,

(45:51):
which is a major factor, and some unforeseen things happen
in terms of results. Right, But this year, when you
have co it in the mix, and you could have
some positive results, and those acts just like an injury.
So you have Mike Norvell from Florida State, he contracted COVID,
so I think and also with the practice time being

(46:14):
significantly lessened, with it being choppy and disjointed, and that
has an absolute impact on the field. Take Notre Dame
for instance. Notre Dame barely practiced leading up to their
first game against Duke, and they looked brutal in the
first quarter in early on, and now all of a sudden,
you fast forward to yesterday and they're winning fifty two

(46:35):
to nothing. So that practice time matters, and establishing some continuity,
some chemistry, it matters. I think this is gonna be
a wacky football season, and it could be a lot
of fun. It's just gonna be random, right, And what
about those Houston Cougars. They can't even get on the field.
That game with Bailey yes day was postponed. I don't
know what's going on with Houston, but they can't even
play a game. I know it sucks because we know

(46:57):
the backstory. Both of those teams had games that were postponed,
so they were like, well, back with it, let's just
play each other, and then that game was postponed. So
it's crazy, man, It's gonna be a crazy year, right.
He's Brian o'many firman by the way, But coming to
you live on the Foxbots Radio studios, brought to you
by Geico fifteen minutes gonna save you a fifteen percent
more on car insurance. Visit Geico dot com for a

(47:19):
free rate quote. Moving to the pros now if you will,
if you this is a pretty good game, this Rams
Eagles game in Philadelphia. Rams want to know Eagles own
one and the Eagles his the key too. I mean, really,
they gave up those sacks early on to the Washington
football team, the w FT last week, and they gotta
protect Carson Wentz if they're gonna win this ball game.

(47:39):
And I think they're gonna win this ball game. And
I think the Rams in fact a favorite by one
the last time I look. But they gotta protect Carson
Wentz from this game. Because when you got Aaron Donald
staring down in you, not good, not good. He is
just a wrecking ball, that guy. He is just nasty
and he had a high film just against the Cowboys

(48:02):
last week. He's insane. But yeah, you look at the
combination of Aaron Donald going up against that Philadelphia offensive
line who was just brutal last week against Vina's Washington
football team. Listen to this. The Eagles they gave up
against Washington last week eight sacks, fifteen quarterback hits, thirteen

(48:24):
tackles for loss and three takeaways that that's what they
gave up. That's unbelievably bad. So Aaron Donald could be
eating today. You just got to see a much better
old line performance and Wentz. Wentz has something to do
with that, but it's it's twofold right. That old line
was just bad and there were times that Wentz made

(48:45):
him worse and other times where Wentz just didn't have
a chance. That old line was so bad last week,
I I do you know what I'm I'm damn picking
the Eagles today, and I say, going into the shipments,
the clock is gonna make a difference. You know. I
look at variables that go into ball games, and you
look at the first which is obviously important. I do.
I look at the personnel as well. When I looked
at that Bill's Dolphins game, I said that Dolphins are

(49:05):
gonna win that game. Why because I think the heat's
gonna wear out the Buffalo Bills playing in Miami today.
I'm thinking this cross country trip going from l A
to Philadelphia is gonna make a difference. With the time difference,
I think it's gonna hurt and make the Rams a
little bit weary and tired. I think the Eagles win
this game. I think the variable there that's gonna be
the difference. Well maybe I think the the um embarrassment

(49:30):
factor is always a big deal in professional football, where
teams that get embarrassed. Think about the Browns in Week one,
they were embarrassed by the Ravens. That was brutal, and
then obviously they came to play and it's a lesser
opponent against Cincinnati, but still I think the embarrassment factor
is part of the equation here. And Philadelphia make no

(49:51):
mistake having a seventeen nothing lead and then allowing Washington
to come back and score twenty seven straight points, as
they are just absolute man handling you. That is the
definition of embarrassment. So I think that's important to keep
in mind heading into this game. Where Philly was flat
out embarrassed last week and that had to sit with

(50:12):
them the entire week. So I expect a much better
effort today against the Rams. Well, I'm glad you brought
the embarrassment fact that that goes to forty nine is
I thought there was someone embarrassed at the Arizona list week. Well,
the Arizona played him tough twice last year a closer,
but the Jets, they will in fact be embarrassed today
by the forty nine is I think forty nine is
a favored by seven. But I will say this is

(50:34):
gonna be a big one today. I think there's gonna
be maybe something like thirty five, thirty six to ten,
something like that. I think forty on his role. I mean,
this Jets team is just terrible. And I gotta ask
you a question, what's going on with Sam Donald? I mean'
is it time for the chest to say maybe we
made a mistake and maybe next year to going in
a different direction. Well possibly. I think that Sam Donald

(50:55):
just hasn't well. I know, he hasn't shown the growth
and part of that it's hard to gauge really, some
of it is on him, right, but you look at
that supporting cast. Andy, You're not gonna have Jamison Crowder today,
which is really the only target doing anything at this stage.
No Levy on Bell. He doesn't have a good offensive line.

(51:16):
It's gotten better with McKay, Beckton and and some of
the acquisitions that they've made, it's still not a good
offensive line. And who he has to throw to a
good lord and he's got Brashad Parriman. He's got Chris Hogan, like,
he's just got a collection of dudes over there. I
look at what Sam Donald has around him compared to
what Baker Mayfield has to work within Cleveland, it's not

(51:39):
even close. And so I just if you look at
Baker and say, hey man, the light bulb hasn't turned on,
you can look and say that's Baker's fault. When it
comes to Sam Donald, I think you gotta look at
the supporting cast as well. It's not like he's surrounded
by what Baker is surrounded by. Now that's a great point.
I'll tell you what that I watched those Browns and
I tell you what they may have the want to

(52:00):
punch in the backfield in the National Football League. That
that Chubb, that Nick Chubb is unbelievable. I mean, I
love watching him play. Really is a great And again,
I mean I'm not gonna labor the point of talk
about the Cincinnati Bengals, but look, you and I could
run against the Sintani Bengals defense. No really, I mean
they they went through that that defense like you know,
melted butter. It really really was unreal. But still that

(52:22):
couldn't stop him. I mean that's the way it is. Yeah,
well again it goes back to your supporting cast. I mean,
bring in Matthew Stafford to this, right, Like, Stafford has
some shortcomings, But when you rattle off those stats of
Matthew Stafford's record against teams with winning records and all
of those things, it's like last week was a great example,

(52:44):
mits Trobiski. It's just carving your defense up in the
fourth quarter. DeAndre Swift can't catch the ball that's right
in his hands. Like Matthew Stafford's record against winning teams
has much more to do with his supporting cast than
it does with Afford. And so if you apply that
same thinking to Sam Donald, I think there's a common thread.

(53:05):
I think that some of it is on Donald, but
most of it is around is on the guys that
surround him. Right but Sam, but true, in the National
Football League, it's all about quarterbacks. And the one stat
that really drives me up the wall is that they'll
say Sam Donald is going against the forty nine is
today and Sam Donald's career record, you know, it's not
his career record, it's the team's career record. And they

(53:26):
do that in hockey too, with goalkeepers. They do with
the goalies in hockey. I just don't understand why they
do that, but you know, look, it sells, and it
sells pretty good, and that's what they do. They say
it's Sam Donald today because Jimmy Garoppolo. Not really, but
that's what people look at and that's why. Yeah, look
it's a great example of Look at Jimmy G. Jimmy
G is not carving up the NFL, but he's got

(53:48):
a great win loss record. Right, Well, you've got a
great supporting cast. That's primarily why if you flip flop
those guys. What do you think Jimmy G's record is
with the Jets? What do you think Sam darn old
record is with the forty Niners? Like that matters, and
you've got to be a special, special quarterback to rise

(54:08):
above a bad supporting cast. And when you look at
Donald and Jimmy G, those are guys that you know,
they're their whole hume guys, their middle of the road guys.
They're pretty unless the supporting cast is on point, that's
just the way it is. He had a bit supporting
cast last year in New England. He tried he tried
his best, but at the end of the year like
he couldn't get it done. A good day. S thoughted

(54:29):
what eight? No, when the ended up formed four down
the last eight games. Yeah, it matters. Listen, who you're
surrounded by matters. And I would love to know the
records where you know, like, what do you think Jimmy
g is doing with Gang Green? Obviously, Like honestly, what
do you think? Well, I'm surrounded with some pretty good
talent around here. It makes me look good. I mean,
I admit that look like you got Vin A, you

(54:50):
got Crisp, you got him all, you got Brian Finley,
I my son, but still and have good bloodlines there,
I guess, and you everybody makes me look good. But
I'm surrounded with some good talent. That's nice, that's good.
I'm glad. I think that I agree with you. The
Niners they rebound today. The Jets are just freaking baggusting.
They are bad. And I want to see this Niner's
offense with George Kittle. You know, he is such an

(55:14):
important dude on that offense and with the wide receiver
injuries to that squad. If when Kittle's compromised or can't
quite be himself. I want to see how that offense functions.
I still think they have enough against the Jets. Yeah,
but that's something to keep an eye on going forward.
If they were playing anybody else but the Jet I
think would play today. I really don't think it's that serious. Yeah, well,

(55:38):
I watched his leg. Did you see that injury against
the Niners? He went up against the Cardinals. I'm sorry,
he went up for a pass and the the dB
hit him low. It wasn't dirty, but his leg bent backward.
It looked ugly. Um, So he's Kittle is just so
good man, great blocker of course, the receiving yards, everything
he does. He's so important for that offense. And again,

(56:01):
with those wide receiver injuries, you need Kittle. They're gonna
be fine today. But you know, maybe the under, maybe
the under is the play today. Andy, how many points
do you think that the Jets are scoring against that
Niners defense today? And they're banged up? No, Richard Sherman
secondary is banged up, But it's the Jets. I think
they're gonna score. They're gonna crack double digits. A touchdown

(56:21):
in the field goal, that's it today. Ten points yeah,
it's five to ten. Well, if it's that score, it's
the over. You know, here we go. I guess. So yeah,
how many points can the Jets? I just don't think
the Niners put up a lot of points today with
all their injuries. Yeah, I think they do. You do?
You're going thirty five? I think that's high man. I

(56:42):
don't see that. Well, we'll see, we'll see. I gotta
I gotta get one one time. He's Brian No on
Andy Furman. We got botton barrel betting at this hour.
Our number three got Brian No. One knows pitch and
you can get us anytime on Twitter at the No
Show at Andy Furman FSR eight seven seven ninety nine
Fox eight seven seven nine six six sixty nine. The
big Man is back and that means trouble. That's next.

(57:07):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. One is rebuilding, one
is reloading. We'll get to that in just about a
minute twenty two past the hour. This is Fox Football Sunday,
Brian No, not No, Brian No, and Andy Furman right
here on Fox Sports Radio by Bluemo. Blue Move. Maximum
Pain relief works fast and you won't stink. It's pharmacists

(57:31):
recommended oh to free pain relief for muscle pain, back ache,

or burning involved. It's simil pain relief. Bluie moved back.
Some pain relief works fast and you won't stink. And
I said, the man is back, and you see is back.
Not only is Brian no back, but I'll tell you what.
Ben Roethlisberg is back because the Steelers are playing the

(57:51):
Broncos today in Pittsburgh. Steelers one and oh there you go.
And the Broncos when one. They lost to the Titans
Monday night. But when been back, I think it's great
and it's funny. Everybody talks about the new breed of
quarterback that DeShawn Watsons in the world, that Patrick Mahomes.
But still in all I like talking about the old timers,
and Ben to an old timer and a future Hall

(58:11):
of Famer. Well, and he threw three touchdown passes last
week against the Giants. Took a little bit of time
for that offense to get their rhythm. But man, you
look at that defense with the Steelers. They were nasty
last year. They should be nasty again this year. And
if big Ben is just good. Think about the quarterback
play that they had last year, Andy Duck, Hodges, Mason Rudolph,

(58:36):
and they were eight and five heading into the final
three games, and they dropped every single one of those games.
But if you've got legit quarterback play, that could have
easily been a double digit win team last year. I
think they would have been. So I think if big
Ben is good, this is a double digit win team
in and Uh. They've got a great chance today at

(58:57):
home against Denver and Vic Fangie, oh who doesn't know
how to use time outs. The Black and Gold have
a great chance to start off two and oh this year. Yeah,
and it's funny, you know, this is a situation in
Pittsburgh where the quarterback basically makes the receiver. Sometimes the
receiver could do the opposite for the quarterback. But I'm
looking at Juju Smith Schuster to have a good year
this year, maybe tremendous year in fact, with Big Ben

(59:20):
back of quarterback, because Big Ben makes him look good,
he really does. Yeah, and look, it really does depend
on who the backup quarterback. He is, right, because I
think Juju Smith is a special receiver. But if you've
got Duck Hodges right, like he's just he's Duck right.
Here's the reason he's on the practice squad. So I

(59:42):
look at DeAndre Hopkins in those top flight receivers. DeAndre
Hopkins in Houston, he had a couple of years where
he just had nobody throwing him the ball, and he's
scoring eleven touchdowns, like over a hundred receptions. When he's
got Brandon Weeden and company throwing him the football, that's elite.
That's really really special. But if you're a good receiver

(01:00:03):
like Juju, there are a lot of good receivers that
are not putting up numbers with Duck throwing them the football.
You're exactly right. I'd be interesting to see how much
how much yardage Melvin Gordon could gain against that defense.
And uh, honestly, I'm not talking about it as much
as we should, but we really should. The fact that
Von Miller has gone from Denver, that's that's a big hole.
That's big, that's big loss. That's a big deal. But man,

(01:00:25):
you mentioned it that Steelers defense se Kwon Barkley had
six yards rushing last week, and how about this, He
averaged minus point two yards before contact per rush. Think
about that. He's getting contacted in the backfield on average

(01:00:46):
against the Steelers last week, so that rush defense is nasty.
And like you said, you have to wonder how effective
that Broncos running game is going to be. You've got
you know, injuries back there where uh mel and Gordon
hadn't had a fumble last week, and then not knowing
what you're going to be able to get from Philip Lindsley,

(01:01:07):
he might not be able to go. So if Lindsay
can't go and Melvin Gordon is fumble prone, that's not
good combination. You're right, You're right about that. Now there's
a game today that as much as I loved the
game the National Football League, I I don't think unless
I was forced to watch it, I would watch it.
Panthers Bucks two teams that when one Panthers a rebuilding,

(01:01:29):
the Bucks are reloading. The Bucks will probably win this
ball game. But last week, I mean the Panthers lost
to Vegas thirty, the Bucks lost thirty to New Orleans.
Tom Brady and and the game last week that he played,
he is now throwing a pick six and three straight
games he's on pace to break Jamis Winston single season
record of seven pick six is in I think it's

(01:01:53):
a ridiculous stat I mean both of the first off.
First off, let's do the pick six thing. Yeah. One
of those was in the playoff loss to the Titans.
And you remember at the very end of the game,
they were like ninety yards away from well, they were
way far away from a field goal, right for a
game winning field goal attempt. And it's the final seconds

(01:02:16):
and Brady threw an interception that went for a touchdown.
Remember it was desperation time. They're backed up to their
own goal line. This is a few seconds to go,
and you know, he throws a pick and it goes
for a touchdown. It was just like, okay, right. If
you go back to week seventeen, there was a legit
pick six against the Dolphins when the Patriots are trying
to win the game and secure a first round by

(01:02:37):
that mattered, and the pick last week mattered. But that
that that statup three straight games. One of those was
a throwaway pick and desperation mode, right, so I think
it gets lost in the shuffle, right, And and another
injury fact that he had Champion big wide receiver Chris
god when he's out, so that's another weapon that he

(01:02:57):
will not have. But you know, here's the thing. Can
to pay Anthers really protect the quarterback Jamis Winston. That
that's the key right there. He's not he's he's with
the Saints. I mean the Saints. I mean you right.
I'm sorry, Uh it's Teddy Bridgewater, Bridge Bridgewater. I'm sorry.
I'm getting so excited about this ball game. The point
is this that the Panthers are so bad. I just
don't see this game. Maybe twenty three touchdown difference in

(01:03:19):
this ball game, I really believe that. Uh well, hey, listen,
I expect Tampa to rebound. I'm curious what happens with
Mike Evans with that hamstring injury. How does he look?
He had one catch last week against the Saints. I
thought Bruce arians just handled last week's loss like an idiot.

(01:03:40):
I mean, really, honestly, Andy, look at Belichick. Do you
think Belichick would pull out like I don't know why
he did that. I mean, that's one of the reasons
why I faked that Brady left. There was some stories,
there was some reports out there that Brady's wife, Giselle,
didn't like the fact that Belichick would kind of talk
to her her husband in various tones, and I think

(01:04:02):
that put that together with the lack of offensive materials
that he had to work with one of the reasons
and to the reasons maybe why he packed up went
to Tampa and all of a sudden, Bruce Arians goes
public land. Bill Belichick never did that publicly? Did you
ever hear Bill Belichick? Like, I don't know what Brady
was thinking there. I just you know, it's bad interception

(01:04:24):
and maybe you'll show more grit and determination this week.
All the things that Bruce Arians said, it's like why,
why why, Like you've got to look forward. Belichick is
known for We're on to Cincinnati, We're on to the
next opponent. And it was Thursday this week, and it's
still a storyline based on what Bruce Arians said after

(01:04:46):
the game. Bruce Arians came out after Tampa lost to
the Saints and was like, yeah, both those interceptions were
Brady's fault. And then the next day he retracted it
and he was all right, the first one's on Mike Evans,
and it's just like it went on and on. Brady's
answering questions about it on Thursday. It's crazy, It's all
about your next opponent, not Sunday's opponent, which was like

(01:05:08):
four or five days ago. It was nuts. I thought
that was such a bad text, and I wonder if
that's Spruce Arian's way of like motivating Tom Brady, which
really he doesn't need to be motivated after twenty years
in the league. He knows how he played, and he
knows he's got to get better and the team's gotta
get better. He knows that. I was shocked too, and
I was shocked that Bruce Arians basically would do something

(01:05:29):
I don't I don't remember Bruce Arians doing that with
any other player that he had coached. Obviously, no one
is high visible as Tom Brady, but I don't remember
Arians doing that before we listen. Arians is a truth teller.
He said that about Jamis Winston many times where Jamis
had bad games, and he would say to compare that
to Brady's. But that's the thing is, you can say
things that are critical of Jamis Winston and it isn't

(01:05:52):
a story into Thursday of the following week. It is
when you say that about Tom Brady. It's just it's
all about looking ahead to the next opponent instead of
looking backward. And if you crush Brady the way Arians did,
it's gonna linger and that's not to your benefit. I
just thought that was such a bad approach by Aria.
Why is Jamis Winston on my mind all of a sudden,

(01:06:13):
I think because those things I don't know. I don't
know it was it Tom Brady's a deception record. I
don't know. That's the thing that Jamis Winston. Who knows?
We move on? He's Brian No, I'm Andy Firman. This
is Fox Football suthing in Fox Sports Radio. What happened
to the run game with this team? That? And more? Next?
But first Brian with the latest. Yeah, thank you so much. Dad.

(01:06:37):
You know the much as much as you go from
one side of an issue to another, indecisive, noncommittal, it
all makes sense. Why I wait a minute, Wait a minute.
I am committed, but I don't know what I'm committed
with at times. That's the thing. Well, that's the thing.
It's like you were on I should be committed. You
should be, and if you were, you would have stayed
my dad, But you're not, so you found somebody else.

(01:06:59):
You kept moving around anyway. Jalen Brown, on that note,
resuscitates the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. Step back on,
Williams goes to Jlen Brown, knife through everybody finger roll
with the right hand up and good, this is Jaln
Brown's knife. That certainly was the case to call on
the Celtics radio network. Twenty six points for Brown, one
of four Boston starters to score at least twenty as

(01:07:22):
Boston wins this one one seventeen one oh six against
Miami in Game three. Miami still leads the series two
games to one. How about sixty points in the paint
from the Celtics last manly performance by the Seas just
bullyball inside and there really wasn't any scoring off the
bench for Miami minus Hero. You really had no production.

(01:07:46):
And I think the band played well. Yeah, but he's
a starter handy And I'm just saying that Bam did
play with getting credit. Yeah, yeah, brutal. Did you see
that twelve forty four from Miami. That's not gonna get it. No,
I'm not gonna get back. I mean they with down
twenty and with about five minutes to go in the
it just don't give games away. They're not like, yeah,

(01:08:06):
this game is not in the cards. For us. We'll
get him in Game four. Miami will play you to
the end. I love how fisty they are. Yeah, just
like Andy, always fisty. Yeah yeah. Several outlets claiming the
Bears are rewarding running back tore Cohen with a three
year contract extension as much as eighteen million dollars. It's
going to be worth nine and a half million of

(01:08:28):
it is fully guaranteed. Some injury updates Patriots wide receivers
Julian Edelman and to Kill Harry dealing with injuries are
trending towards playing today. Detroit wide receiver Kenny Golladay, who's
out today with the hamstring issue, is on path to
returning Week three. Broncos water receiver Cortland's sudden hobbled with
an a C joint sprain appears a game time decision.

(01:08:51):
The Giants seemingly are going to have Golden Tate in
the game today, making his season debut as he's recovering
from a hamstring issue. The Texans expecting wide receiver Brandon
Cooks to see the field today fresh off a quad problem,
and the Bears are back trying to negotiate a new
contract with wide receiver Allen Robinson, and they are saying

(01:09:14):
no to any trade inquiries into him. This all according
to NFL Network. And finally, the Dallas Stars crumple up
the Tampa Bay Lightning for one in Game one of
this Stanley Cup Final. As you sent it back to
my dad and my godfather, Andy Furman, Brian No, thank
you so very much. And now we are Fox Football

(01:09:35):
Sunday on Fox Boats Radio, and of course welcome back
to the Fox Boats Radio studios, brought to you by Geico.
It's easier to say fifty more on car insurance with Tico.
Gota dot Com called Nino seven all. The only hard
part figuring out which way is easy. And of course,
and list than ten minutes, we will have the game
of games and we called it botto and barrel betting.
But right now here's a pretty good ball game. Today

(01:09:57):
we got washed the Washington Football Club Washington Full Team
w f T w f T, and I thought it
was w TF for this w FT they play at
the Arizona Carlino's both team one and oh and this
Washington offense. And I looked at the statue after that game,
two to thirty nine yards of offense against the team
last week, the Eagles that they played against, and the

(01:10:18):
Cardinals run up over four hundred yards against the forty nine,
and so obviously it's a mismatch and they better do
better today if they want to be even in this
ball game, because I think the Cards have favored by
six and a half. Well, I look at Dwayne Haskins,
if we start with that, with Washington's offense, he's just inconsistent. Right,
The throws are on point sometimes other times they're not.

(01:10:42):
Like its footwork fill jacked up, like he's got to
be better, and it's weird. It's a little bit like
a Sam Donald type thing. You know, Andy Whare, same
type of deal. I look at some of it is
on the quarterback, some of it's on the supporting cast,
and Dwayne Haskins just gotta be better overall, and that
offense has gotta be better for them to do anything

(01:11:02):
of note this year. You can't expect that type of
defensive effort consistently that you got last week. That was insane,
what they did with eight sacks and fifteen quarterback hits,
that's really really high. So um to match points with
the Arizona Cardinals Kyler Murray is just a stud. And
when he links up with DeAndre Hopkins for fourteen receptions

(01:11:26):
out of the gate, that can be a really special
combinations and put together. Also, the run game that he
could give, he could be doing with his legs was
he rushed for like so you know, he's a double
double barrel threat, a little bit like lamarch Acson. Obviously
not in the same league, but you know he could
do with lamarch action does. Kyler Murray is a special talent.
There's absolutely no doubt about that. And I'm just curious

(01:11:49):
what the Washington football team looks like if their defense,
if their defense is just having a normal run of
the mill day, you know, if they're respectable but not great.
How many games is Washington going to win with their
offense doing enough? And so we'll find out today. I
like Arizona in this game. I just look at Isaiah Simmons.

(01:12:12):
It's funny, too Andy. It shows Isaiah Simmons got beat
by most Dirt last week on a pass and Isaiah Simmons,
who's got a bright future out of Clemson, he just
he wasn't in the right spot, like he over committed.
And it's funny because it shows you you've got to
have more than just a great vertical leap and a
forty time and all the measurables. You've got to have instincts.

(01:12:35):
You can't be um over committing, right. You see this
from a lot of young guys where the back goes
one way and you go over committ and then he
goes the other and you are screwed. And that's what
happened in the long touchdown. So yeah, I think he's
gonna learn. I think he's got a bright future. But
it obviously it takes a lot more than measurables to

(01:12:56):
be a stud in the NFL. Exactly right. Let's move
to the Jaguar us at the Titans. Both teams want
to know. Last week the Jacks beat in the twenty
seven twenty Titans beat Denver. That was Monday night, six four.
In the story there, I guess that wide receive a
Corey Davis form of first rounder. His fifth year option
was denied. But last week he has seven receptions in
a hundred one yards. Jacksonville Jacks were in for a

(01:13:18):
total of ninety one yards. Jaguars there is somewhat depleted
on defense. Titans are gonna win this ball game. Derrick
Henry last week, thirty one carries thirty ways. A war horse. Really,
thirty one carries hundred and sixteen yards. Yeah, it's a
throwback performance. It's kind of like those pictures who would
throw a hundred and twenty five pitches or go into

(01:13:38):
the eighth ninth innings and it's just different. Now. You
typically don't see that same thing with running backs. You
see a lot of running back by committee type approaches.
But Derrick Henry with thirty one carries for a buck sixteen.
He is He's that workhorse. He's a throwback guy. And
he's had seven rushing scores over the past three games
against Jacksonville, so he's been relied on heavily. Of course,

(01:14:02):
he had that ninety nine yard run against Jacksonville remember that.
I'll tell you what I don't think Derrick Henry gets
to praise he deserves and maybe part of it's Uh,
I'm not gonna say it's his problem because he's not boisterous.
He's not an Odell Beckham Jr. But who is? But
maybe where he plays and the team that he plays
in the city he plays it. But I just he
goes about does his job, and that's basically it. But

(01:14:24):
he talked about great players in the National Football League.
You know you almost overlook him. Well, he's a fantastic player,
There's no doubt about that. And I think some of
it has to do with the team he plays for.
It's the Tennessee Titans. You know, if he's rushing for
the same amount of yardage in a Cowboys helmet, it
matters more. It's a bigger deal. It's just the Titans

(01:14:45):
are not on the national radar the same way other
national brands are, and uh, that's unfortunate. But he's a
special talent, there's no doubt about that. How about Minshu Mania.
Though he had a really good game last week nineteen
for twenty against the Colts, he only had four point
five um air yards per attempt. He wasn't exactly stretching

(01:15:06):
the field throwing it deep, but he did have a
couple of tough completions. He played well. And I go
back to Leonard four Nette when he was released by
Jacksonville and picked up by Tampa. He said, for the
first time, I really have a quarterback, and I made
a joke about Minshew Minsho's gonna be looking sideways, like, dude,
what I'm not Bordles over here? Right? Like? Minshew played

(01:15:28):
well last week? Yeah, and what need they have? They
need more of a balanced offense because I think they
only ran for like nine ninety one watching that game
last week. If they get balanced, that offense is a
little bit more they could stay in this ball game.
But certainly Tennessee's a better ball club than Jacksonville. Jackson
was gonna lose this game. But you know, min Sho's
right there. You've gotten the job done in the air,
but they gotta have a running game to balance that

(01:15:49):
air attack. By the way, super fast, if you look
at second and third year quarterbacks, who would you rather have? Like,
think of the third year guys. Okay, we all know
that draft, the first rounder with Baker Mayfield, Donald the Bills,
Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, who's you know, he's out of work.
He's not, he's holding the clipboard for the clipboard holder,

(01:16:10):
right like, and then you have Lamar Jackson. But think
of those five guys versus the second year guys. Look
at this list, Andy Kyler, Murray, Daniel Jones, Dwayne Haskins,
Drew Lock over there, in Denver and then Gardner Minshew
with Jacksonville top to bottom. I'd rather have the second
year guys. I think that's a better class than the

(01:16:30):
third year guys. With all those first rounders well, obviously
on on paper, you would think the third year guys
gonna be flourishing by now, but they've had some problems
right now. Kyla Murray's tops my list for the second
year guys. I'll tell you what. It's Minshew second, and
Lock third. Daniel Jones to me, has been again. It's
the surrounding cast that he has, but you know he's

(01:16:52):
not getting it done. There's too many turns. I I
would take Daniel Jones over Haskins. I think Daniel Jones
even mentioned Haskins. He's last you mentioned, Oh you said,
over Drew Lock. I would still take Daniel Jones over
Drew Lock. I would absolutely if you flip flop those guys,
you put Daniel Jones in that Denver offense with what
Drew Lock has that that's a lot more talent than

(01:17:13):
what you have in New York. Although Sa Kwan is fantastic.
I think Daniel Jones is a better QB than Drew Lock.
But if you go second year versus third year. I
would go with the second year guys. Lamar Jackson is unbelievable,
But outside of him, it's a lot of I think
Josh Allen takes a step forward this year, but every
beyond Lamar and Josh Allen, it's a lot of no

(01:17:35):
thank you. In my book, I'm with you. Right there,
he's Brian No, I'm Andy Firman. This is Fox Football
Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. It's not a game, it's
a war. We call it bott and barrel betting, and
it's all yours next, don't listen to Fox Sports Bonn
and Barrel betty coming right up about ten minutes before

(01:17:56):
the top of the hour. This is Fox Football Sunday.
He's probably no. I'm Andy Firm and of course it's
that time. Let's play the game Botto barrel betting. It's
like funny to sleep people get my money. I'll put
your break to sleep betting. Let's play with V Hello,
v A Hello, guys, let's get it going. Let's see

(01:18:19):
last week Andy four and one, Brian A scant two
and three week Wow, scant to look at you. Adjectives
over here be many big be over it. It was
close on a few of them, but you know, ultimately
you almost apologize around the week. Yeah, you got a

(01:18:42):
chance to rebound here. You can boast four and one.
It's pretty pretty good way to start the week off.
It's not my style, all right. It's they don't happen
very often, so you better cheer them on when they do.
Listen to you. All right, we go. First up, we
got the Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady Tampa Bay quarterback TD

(01:19:02):
passes against the Panthers over under of two and a half.
Since I one, I'll go and I'll say over, I'm
gonna say that's tricky. I'm gonna say under today. I
could see two touchdown passes, no Chris Godwin, we don't
know about Mike Evans. Could be a couple of rushing touchdowns.
I'll take the under today. All right, there we go.

(01:19:25):
So we got Ezekiel Elliott rushing yards against the Falcons
over under of ninety five and a half. I like
the over today. I think he's gonna eat. I don't
like that Falcons defense. I'm gonna go under because I
think there'll be more passing yards than rushing yards. Yeah,
that that tattoo. I gotta give him the under on
that one. The tattoo's terrible. But but it's a rare way.

(01:19:50):
You have more rushing than passing yards. Andy, that's typically
the way it goes. You're gonna have more passing yards.
You could passed the ball more, I mean more, more attempts.
We'll sho. I just whatever, you're wrong, It's okay. I
did he did last week? He did. We move on
to the new week. David Johnson number of receptions against

(01:20:12):
the Ravens over under a four and a half catches. Yeah,
I go under on that one. I'm taking the under. Yeah,
I'm gonna go on to two on that one. Not
because you have said it, but follow my lead. Andy,
I'll bring you the prominence if you follow your lead.
Two and three follow me to freedom zaning. Oh, we're

(01:20:32):
getting testy here in these last two said it's a war. Yeah,
we're going up a. Zane Gonzalez number of field goals
against my football team over under two and a half.
You might want to mentioned who Zane Gonzalez plays for
vine for I don't know if everybody knows, you know,

(01:20:53):
plays for the Cardinals. He is my football team. He's
up against my football team. I'm coming around on that now.
How many a goal? Two and a half over and
over under? I say over two and a half. Um,
you know, give me the under on that one. By
the way, we should keep season long totals. You know
who does what throughout all these picks this year. Let's

(01:21:14):
do that all right? Right now? We got a couple
of others. We keep trying. We got one. We got
one more before we get out of here. Raiders tight
end Darren Waller number of receiving yards against the Saints
over under fifty and a half under. I love the
over in this one. Yeah, give me the over. Waller's
is stud Let's see, yeah it enjoy You're one week

(01:21:36):
of winning. Andy Ferman, rub it in, rub it in,
my friend. Okay. By the way, he's never lost a
start in September. He's never thrown in a deception before October.
It will not change today. We'll tell you who he
is right here on Fox Sports Radio. Next. Don't listen
Fox Sports Radio. He's getting better. That's coming right up.

(01:21:57):
But right now it's time to say up America. Yes,
here we go. Yes, it's that time. It is Fox
Football Sunday. There we go, He's probably no. I'm Andy
Ferman and we're coming to you live from the Fox
Sports Radio studios, who brought to you by Geico. Fifteen

(01:22:20):
without further ado, what we call the Hour of Power,
a k a. The Power Hour. The man who is
more powerful than anyone else in sports media. Yes he is.
He's my partner, my friend, the brains of the outfit,
the man who carries the load on this show, the one,
the only Mr Bryan No, Hello, b are you listening
to me? Andy Freman? What's going on? Andy Ferman? Glad

(01:22:41):
to be here with you on week two? Heading into
Week two of the NFL season. Some tasty matchups. Yes,
and we got him right here for you. Are you
ready to rock and roll? Get into it right now?
Let's get into it. Yes, Chiefs of Charges, both teams,
thank you very much, Chiefs the Charges. Both teams want
to go get this stat Patrick Home was the quarterback
for the Chiefs, has never lost the start in September,

(01:23:04):
nor has he thrown an interception before October and Today,
the Chiefs will roll again. They're favored by eight and
a half in this Blowl game today. He's look, I
love watching him, I really do. I love watching him play.
I'm shocked that he has developed where he's been. I mean, look,
you have to admit that when he came into this
league and they got rid of Alex Smith, you kind

(01:23:25):
of scratched Enson. What are they doing? Didn't you? Didn't
you think that at the time. Well, at the time,
it was they weren't broken at quarterback, right Alex Smith
led the league in passer rating the year before he
was replaced, So we know that, we know what Alex
Smith was. He was a good quarterback that wasn't a

(01:23:45):
difference maker. He wasn't uh a guy that was gonna
lead you on his back to the Super Bowl, right like,
he had to have a lot around him. So credit
to the Kansas City Chiefs. They could have just stuck
with that and said we're good, let's address other areas
of need. And instead, man, they swung for the fences.
They moved up aggressively in the draft from what overall

(01:24:11):
and take Patrick Mahomes. It was a bold move and man,
they hit a grand slam with that. There are a
lot of organizations that wouldn't have done what the Chiefs did,
and man, they are reaping the benefits of that best
offensive football, most prolific offensive football right now. And he's
got the weapons to go with him. You talk about talent, Yeah,
he's got talent, but he also got talent around the

(01:24:32):
Tarik Hill. I mean, he's got guys over there. Uh,
he's got players upon players and they just get better.
And maybe he's making him better. Sammy Watkins, he's coming
alive right now. I mean, these guys are really playing
Travis Kelsey. Guys are playing great football around him, and
maybe it's a combination of him and then with them
and him, but whatever it is, this this team could
put up points big time, and to beat this team,

(01:24:53):
you gotta just keep him off the field. That's what
you gotta do. Well, good luck with that, and I
look at Look, there's so much Mo homes focus, and
we understand because he's that special, but sometimes it overshadows
the other good things that the Chiefs are doing. And
last week was a good example of it. I thought
the pass rush gave Houston fits because Deshaun Watson, he

(01:25:13):
just didn't have time back there. And if you look today,
if that Kansas City pass rush is good again against
Tyrod Taylor, you could force him into making some poor
decisions and a couple of interceptions. And man, if you're
talking about winning the turnover battle while you have Patrick Mahomes,
it's game said match at that point. Man. So Tyrod

(01:25:36):
Taylor is gonna have to have a good game basically
avoid turnovers. And that's been the common trade in this
matchup between these two teams. If you look at the
last six games, Kansas City has won five of them
and the Chargers offense has committed seventeen turnovers. Meanwhile the
Chiefs they've only given up the ball twice. So that's huge, huge.

(01:26:00):
Anthony Lynn this week said, that's just ridiculous. This is
freaking ridiculous where you can't expect to win games against
the Chiefs when the turnover battle is favoring the Chiefs
that much. Right, I'm gonna tell you what. It's funny
because when Kansas City had their first goal around with
Patrick Mahomes, you know you and I was saying, yeah,
they're gonna beat you, but just scoring more points than you.

(01:26:21):
And we looked at their defense and left of them saying,
there's someone like a big twelve conference defense. They've gotten
a lot better defensively. Now you look at the Charges
that it's very difficult to judge how they did because
they almost struggled beating the Bengals this week by three
and Tyrod Taylor he couldn't find any constituency whatsoever throwing
the football. Now they're running backs Etler, he did rather well.

(01:26:42):
He did rather well. But again against that Bengals defense,
you and I could run through that, right, Yeah, and
uh I I do. I think that the Chiefs defense
is better than they're given credit for. That's probably the
best way to say it. They're not crushing teams, they're
not dominant, but they don't get talked about hardly at all.

(01:27:03):
And when you have Chris Jones, you've got Tyrone Matthew,
You've got some playmakers on that defense. And then man,
you think about the injuries too. With the Chargers, Durwin
James gone for the season, they lost Mike Poundcy. Those
are huge losses for that Chargers team, so they get
bit by the injury bug again. This one is telling me, Chiefs,

(01:27:23):
that's a big number when you get over a touchdown
to cover on the road. I gripped my teeth. I
think you might have to white knuckle it if you
lay that number with the Chiefs. But I fully expect
them to win today. Are you laying the number? Are
you laying the wood? I would. And there's another big
number two of that Ravens game at the Texas Ravens
one in No Texas one one. And that Houston Texas

(01:27:44):
team they gave up like a hundred and sixties SIPs
rushing yards last week to the Chiefs. And you've got
Lamar Jackson right now, he could probably gain that himself.
I mean the Texas right now up. And I just
I feel for the quarterback, I really do. I mean,
Deshaun watches a heck of a quarterback, a real good quote.
Just something wrong that doesn't the motive doesn't run with
the Houston tentions for some reason. I don't know why.

(01:28:06):
I just don't know what it is. Well, they've never
been an efficient offense with Bill O'Brien there for as
much talent as they've had with Deshaun Watson DeAndre Hopkins,
it's just it's been a middle of the road team
in terms of efficiency, and I expect that to go down.
It's they're going backwards without DeAndre Hopkins, and the question

(01:28:28):
is how much? Because that opener Andy, that was alarming
on offense because the past blocking wasn't good and I
think it was made even worse without having Hopkins there.
That helps out an offensive line. If Deshan drops back
and he's like, oh wow, DeAndre is open, I think
I'll throw it to him. That helps out an offensive line.

(01:28:50):
But if you don't have that same stud receiver getting
often as getting open as often, that bogs down your offense. Right.
So I want to see going up against the Ravens
defense today, what do we get more more information about
that Texans offense? If this is gonna be a common
theme or was that? You know, first game of the year.

(01:29:13):
Got some kinks to work out, got Brandon Cook's, got
Randall Cobb, You've got new receivers in that offense, and
maybe they figure it out. But maybe that was an
alarming start for them. There's no doubt about that. And
their defense they pissed rush only one sack last week.
I got you gotta do better than that, you really do,
But more than that, Deshaun Watson could re com beat
you with his legs. He's one of those quarterbacks like

(01:29:34):
Carlin Murray and Lamar Jackson. He could he could run
the football. He ran for twenty seven yards only last week.
I just think that you have to open it up
a little more. And I think that Bill O'Brien almost
has a set offense and doesn't play to his personnel.
I mean, you have to adapt yourself to the people
you have, and I don't think he's ever adapted himself
to Deshaun Watson's play. That's my take. I think that

(01:29:54):
Deshaun Watson could be a bit threat, and I think
that he's not used in the capacity that he should
be used. Well, I would disagree with you because he
had seven rushing touchdowns last year, same as Lamar Jackson,
and both of those guys had eight touchdowns throwing on
the run and with zero interceptions. So I mean, we

(01:30:15):
wouldn't argue with the Baltimore Ravens how they utilize Lamar Jackson.
They tailored their offense to his strengths, and I don't
see Bill O'Brien and the Texans just putting the handcuffs
on Deshaun Watson. I think it's an overreaction to a
bad week one performance collectively. But I don't think by
any stretch that they're just confining this guy. And this

(01:30:38):
is the thing, man, Bill O'Brien. He'll make some bad decisions,
and I think that there are a lot of holes
in his coaching game. But because of that, it's just embellished.
It's just over accentuated, accentuated, like, oh my gosh, this
guy does nothing right and that's just not true. I
think that he gets blamed for everything and a lot
of times it's off the mark. Well, that's the way

(01:31:00):
it's gonna be. I mean, of course, the coach are
gonna be blamed for everything. And look, that team is
the middle of the road team. It's a mediocre team. Yes,
even look and they lose today, the bootbirds are gonna
come out of the woodward. They'll be owing to you.
Start out owing to you almost behind the eight bol
you really are. A lot of teams will be owing
to today. That's just the story. I'm sorry, but that's
the thing is getting rid of DeAndre Hopkins, I think

(01:31:24):
was terrible. Right, So we start there and it's like
when you're evaluating Bill O'Brien going forward, it's as if
everything traces back to what I think was an idiotic
move to get rid of DeAndre Hopkins. And I don't
think that's necessarily true. Like what you just said, it's
not as if they don't let DeShawn be DeShawn. They do, right,

(01:31:44):
But because he's made some noticeable gaffs, it's as if
everything is Bill O'Brien's fault, and that's just not the case. Now.
I may be crazy here, but I think that the
Ravens Texans game and the Chiefs Charges game of both
late games today, I believe that, Yeah, you're right about that, okay,
and that that bothers me because I love watching my

(01:32:05):
homes and I like watching Lamar Jackson. Again, I'm at
a quandary. I don't know what to do. I'll flip
back and forth, That's what I'll do. I'll go back
and forth. I'm telling you, man, you gotta get uh
the direct TV package on your computer, right, you get
all those games, so you got the game on your
TV whatever, and you just stream the other games that
aren't televised. It's beautiful, highly recommended. Maybe I'll do that,

(01:32:28):
but I like to watch a completely I don't like
going back and forth. I like watching a complete game.
Yeah you can just ok, you got the TV on,
you got the other games on your laptop, done all games, boom.
You just kind of look back and forth a little bit. Okay,
look at this screen, look at that screen. You can multitask.
That's what I do every week. Wow. Yeah, I wouldn't

(01:32:48):
do it every week, but in a situation like this
where I really want to watch my homes and Jackson
I play, would do that. That's well, we'll see. I
might do it. I mean, you know what, I'm glad
you told me that thing. I may do that today.
I could. I could order that today right right after
the show. You know, Andy, follow my lead, alright, not
to accepted by barrel betting. Accepted by the barrel betting, alright,
but you draw the line there. Great, But you know

(01:33:09):
this is good advice that I have here. Trust me
on this, and I appreciate you. I believe me. I do.
I love it that. There we go. He's Brian No.
Get him on Twitter at the No Show or at

it's tremendous, but we have to say it. I didn't
want to. We have to say it. Tom who that's next?
Don't listening Fox Sports. They haven't mellowed with age. We'll
get to that in just about a minute eighteen minutes

(01:33:51):
past the hour, Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
He's brobably know him Andy Ferman, and we are probably
brought to you by Blue Wee Move Blueie Move. Maximum

I got an email. I'm sure I got a tweet
as a matter effect from j Frank Rodriguez. I'm sure
you got that as well. Hot take request that helped
me out on this one. Dak Prescott starts to perform
to get an m v P conversation or plays like
the middle of the league quarterback with a question mark.
What does he mean by this? I don't get it.

(01:34:34):
I guess he wants he's a Prescott fan. He wants
Prescott to start getting some numbers. To get in the
m VP conversation's gonna be tough. It's gonna be tough
for him to get in that conversation. But guys like
Mahomas and Jackson, right, I think it's in the middle.
I don't think that Dak vaults to the m v
P discussion. I don't think he's just the middle of
the league in terms of being a QB. I think

(01:34:55):
he's in between that. I think he's gonna put up
good numbers, but not to the point that he's an
the m v P discussion. That's where I would expect
him to be. He's not gonna be average. He's got
too much talent around him, and and he's a good
QB like I don't think he's upper echelon like upper upper,
but he's good and with that collection of talent around him,
I think he's gonna put up strong numbers this year.
I just don't home. You know, Russell Wilson lamar category.

(01:35:20):
I don't see that this year, and I'm going to
further with that collection of talent. He better be good
because there's he better be good because it's like yours
your situation. Early on. Put Daniel Jones in that situation,
with that collection of talent, all of a sudden, he
becomes a Wow, look at Daniel Jones quarterback. Yeah, I
think they're a handful of quarterbacks like that. I think that. Uh. Look,

(01:35:41):
Sam Donald would be a lot better with better players
around him. And it isn't only that, you know, I
think look look at Baker Mayfield. I could say this
with um like with a stronger stance. Uh, when you
are surrounded by that much talent like Baker is, you
got no ex uses. You've got to put up better

(01:36:01):
numbers than you are if you're surrounded by the talent
that Sam Donald is surrounded by. I look at it
where I'm like, okay, you should do better. But yeah,
there's there's a decent amount on your supporting cast as well.
Right like that, there are a lot of quarterbacks that
are lacking with a good supporting cast. You're right, You're
exactly right. But tonight both these teams have pretty dawn

(01:36:23):
good supporting cast and it's a great game tonight on
TV National Game on Sunday Night. Patriots of the Seahawks.
Both teams want to know. And again I said last
week the Patrick lose to the Dolphins. That didn't happen.
Cam Newton rushing the football. This is beat yourself up, Andy.
You gotta let it go. Man. You missed, you swung
and missed on the Dolphins. It's okay, it happens. It's
in the NFL. Yeah, right, I absolve all blame. They

(01:36:46):
become a rush heavy team, but you know, the defense
is great. They allowed two hundred sixty nine yards last week.
That's been in the two seventy five point on average
that I had on last year's team. That was a
top rank unit. So they have a rush heavy offense
and a good defense. You know want and the game
is in Seattle. I'm going the other one. I'm going
with the Patriots of those savored by four. I'm going

(01:37:07):
I believe you. I just think that the defensions. I
know Russell Wilson through the four touchdowns last week one
against Atlanta, Atlanta's got that poorest defense anyway. Seattle's got
a problem with their offensive line. I think that the
Patriots gonna take advantage of that. Now, I disagree with you.
This is the Seahawks game. I'd be shocked if they
lose this game at home. If you look at Cam,

(01:37:30):
he threw one pass that traveled over fifteen yards from
the Atlanta scrimmage last week. And I don't know, and
I look at it like this, Andy, this is not
a Patriots team that plays from behind. They're just not
built that way. They're a team that's going to run
the ball, rely on their defense, grind the games out,
making a fourth quarter game, don't turn the ball over. Right,

(01:37:51):
They're gonna do all of those things. But coming from behind,
if they're down by double digits in the fourth quarter,
it is a freaking wrap. And that's not only about
Cam Newton. It's a lack of good outside receivers. I
think it's just collectively how they're built. I don't expect
them to play with the lead the whole time tonight,
and if they're trailing by a touchdown or ten points,

(01:38:14):
it's not happening. I don't see them winning this game.
You know what, It's gonna be a great game. And
I tell you what. One of the storylines in this
game Obviously, you've got the two oldest coaches in the
NFL going against each other, Belichick Pete Carroll, two of
the oldest coaches, and uh, certainly, I mean they have
not mellowed with age, these guys, I mean and Belichick.

(01:38:35):
It has a losing record against Carol lifetime one and two. Yeah,
but the one kind of matters the most, right, I agree. Yeah,
when you win the Super Bowl against the Page against
the Seahawks, you take that over the two else any time.
But yeah, I'm excited for this. It's a good matchup

(01:38:55):
coach versus coach, QB versus QB, team versus team. I
love all that stuff. So lot of storylines. Another storyline
to watch is Russell Wilson. They threw eleven passes in
their first four team plays last week, and this has
been a common theme especially on Twitter. Let Russ Cook,
meaning let Russell Wilson throw the football before the fourth

(01:39:17):
quarter instead of relying too heavily on that running game.
And they opened it up though. But Brian Schottenheimer, he
said that this is gonna be based on matchups. So
what's interesting heading into this game tonight is look at
how the Patriots defense is built. The strength is their secondary,
led by Stefan Gilmour, raining defensive player of the year.

(01:39:39):
So I don't know what Schottenheimer is going to do,
how he's going to approach this game. If he's going
to let Russ throw the ball nearly as much this
week as he did last week, I'm curious how that's
gonna unfold. I think that you should allow Russ to
cook early on. I just don't think they're gonna allow
him to cook as much as last week when they
thought it might have been to shootout on the road

(01:40:01):
against the Falcons. And I think one of the keys
to this game is gonna be who could rush and
who could stop the rush. Now, last week, the Patriots
rush for two hundred and seventeen yards against Miami, and
Seattle allowed only seventy two yards rushing to Atlanta. Although
I don't know if that's that really stands up too

(01:40:22):
much because Atlanta was pasted into football. The Seahawks pass
rushing ability, that's a question walk to We'll see what happened.
I don't like their pass rush at all. When Jamal
Adams is your best pass rusher as a safety, that's
not good. That's an issue and three one hundred yard
receivers last week for the Falcons against Seattle. You gotta

(01:40:45):
keep your eye on that going forward. I don't think
they're gonna be exposed by the Patriots passing game today. Um,
but that that's problematic going forward for the Seahawks. I
mean I just I look. And one other thing too,
to keep in mind, Andy is Bill Belichick talked about
Russell Wilson. He doesn't see a player better than Russ.

(01:41:08):
And uh, we've been talking about supporting casts. If you
look at Russell Wilson versus Patrick Mahomes, look at what
Russ does. Right Like, if you go side by side
supporting casts offensively, it's just Chiefs, Chiefs, Chiefs, Chiefs. Right Like,
which number one receiver would you rather have, Tyreek killer

(01:41:28):
Dk Metcalf. I would go Tyreek, even though k is
very good. I would go Tyreek. If you go tight end,
it's a no brainer. It's Kelsey. If you go just
complimentary receivers, it's the Chiefs. If you go past blocking
offensive line, it's the Chiefs. So Russ has done so
much with a lesser supporting cast, and for him to
get praised that highly by Belichick. I love to hear

(01:41:50):
that this week. Yeah, and Belichick's doing that, you know,
pregame hype and things like that. But I think a
big question mark this game. But you've got all lip service,
you know. But I want to see what the Patriots
offense does against Seattle. What I mean by that, think
they're still gonna try to pound the ball out and
run the ball, or this Cam Newton get the opportunity

(01:42:11):
to throw the football. I mean, I want to see
if in fact he can't stretch the field. Can he
do that? I mean, will he throw more? I know
he's gonna run, that's part of his game. But if
they could open it up and if he could stretch
the field, they could No, I know, I don't think
they can't. They don't have a receiver to do that.
Ye that no there, that's not them. No, not that team.

(01:42:31):
Damn this is that quarterback. The receivers like, they don't
have outside receivers that are big time weapons with you.
You just got random dudes, right, you got the law
firm of Jacobe and Myers as I like to call him.
You've got the mere Bird. You've you've gotten to kill
Harry who's trying to figure it out as a second
year receiver. You just don't have strong outside receivers. So

(01:42:54):
that's that's not going to happen tonight. I don't think
it's gonna happen at all this season. You're probably right.
I want to see what they want to run the football,
and if they're gonna throw it, they're gonna throw running
out of the backfield. That's what they'll do. I mean,
like they can throw forward passes. I don't want to
make I don't want to make them sound so indeed,
they can't throw the ball to save their lives. But

(01:43:15):
team right, you get like to throw the deep ball,
to stretch the field, to have these gaudy passing numbers.
It's just it's not happening this year. Well doesn't mean
they can't win, and they can't win today in Seattle.
I mean they can the method right, They're gonna run
the ball, they're gonna grind it out, they're gonna play
great defense, they're gonna try to win the turnover margin,

(01:43:36):
they're gonna play special teams while they're gonna do all
those things. But it's not an aerial attack, that's all.
And that's fine. You can win games without that. It's
just if you trail in games. I don't think they're
gonna have many cops to the one key that you said,
which is the key fact that they fall behind the early.
If they're down like fourteen three and they have to

(01:43:56):
stop passing the football, they're in trouble. They're in big trouble.
I don't think they it. Yes, if they're down by
seven or more in the fourth quarter and we're getting
down there, that is that's not where they operate. That
is not their comfort zone. Well, I'm still taking them.
You've taken Seattle. I'm showing this guess absolutely you're taking

(01:44:16):
and you can give me four. I'll give you four.
Take your four, take your four, and listen to you.
I got a guy, one of my buddies is in
Vegas right now. I phoned it in. I was like,
lay some cash on the Seahawks. Money, really. I I
went a little. I could see it being a three

(01:44:37):
point game. You know, I don't want a backdoor cover situation.
I just went money. I went Seahawks winning. Do you
see the Patriots winning outright tonight? No, I'll give you
the final score of the game. Are you ready? Patriots
Seattle seventeen. You just told me you didn't see the
Patriots winning the game, and now you got the page
said the pages, you're gonna win. I saift there behind.
If they're trailing fourteen three and they have to pass,

(01:45:00):
I do a passion game, then they can't. You know what,
I would bet you apple cinnamon neutral grain bars, but
I don't want to get like roast beef delivered to
my to my place here, you know, like apple cinnamon.
You know. I would bet with you, but I don't
get like the top of the bet payment. I totally
for the get go from the outset. The Patriots are

(01:45:21):
gonna win. But I did say that if they trail,
it's all over. Because you're wrong. You're wrong on this one.
Well what are we betting? Huh? Just credibility? Credibility, because
credibility is that Yeah, that's right, Okay, credibility on the
line tonight. I like it the stakes. I can't lose

(01:45:41):
anything because I have none. That's false. You've got credibility,
just not after tonight. You're losing it, baby, I may
call you after the game tonight. Yeah you do that,
You do that cool breakdown the Seahawks. Impressive way against
the Patriots, and you from behind, call you left and

(01:46:01):
then hang up. That's what he's probably no. I would
disagree this Fox Football Sunday on Fox splits Ready, this
team will score it will today and we'll tell you
why next, but first always scoring it will. Brian Fitly
with the lady, Oh my gosh, Andy Andie Firman, you

(01:46:24):
will hurl for more yardage than Cam Newton will throw,
versus hurl all over you like hell. You have to
pay for that. I only take travelers checks. The Celtics,
by the way, Brian and he does not even know
how to turn on a computer. He has his wife
help him. You know you talked. You took about three

(01:46:47):
hours to get it set up on your half. But anyway,
the Celtics, after having a locker room meltdown following Game two,
hunt down the heat one seventeen one oh six in
Game three of the Eastern Conference Finals to make it
two in Miami. Jalen Brown transfixes with twenty six points.
Here's brow And after the game speaking on how mentally
comforting this win is. To be honest, I didn't get

(01:47:10):
much sleep the last forty eight hours. Man I was so,
you know, Nancy to get back and play basketball. I
think the last two games exemplify you know what this
team is about. Um, So I couldn't wait to come
out and be the best version of myself and try
to add to a win. And I'm glad to be
a part of his team, in his organization, and I'm
proud of how we responded. According to multiple outlets, the
Chicago Bears agreed to a three year extension with running

(01:47:32):
back tore Cohen, valued as much as about eighteen million dollars.
NFL Network notes the Bears are resuming contract extension talks
with wide receiver Allen Robinson and are stiff arming any
trade offers. Patriots wide receivers Julian Edelman and to Kill Harry,
who both are dealing with injuries, are planning on playing today.

(01:47:52):
The Dallas Stars crumple up the Tampa Bay Lightning for
one and the game the opener of this Danley Cup Final.
One year old Matthew Wolf shoots a Saturday to ascend
to a two shot lead. He's at five under overall
at the US Open with one around to play. Only
three players in the entire tourney are under par going

(01:48:15):
into today, and the Minnesota Twins officially are postseason bound.
After tranquilizing the Cubs eight one, the Yankees win at
tenth straight as they mash up the Red Sox eight
to nothing. If only the Chicago or excuse me, the
Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Bengals could score more than
eight points in a game, maybe they scored thirty. What

(01:48:36):
are you talking about? Fake news? All right, you guys
got me this time. But eight points. How about eight wins?
I'll take that in few, eight wins in two years. Yeah,
that's good enough, I guess. All right, back to d
Andy Fairman Bran, Now, have a great day, See you
next week. You're doing a great job with those interviews.
He's interviewed everybody in the sports radio world. By now.

(01:48:59):
You know, well, I have finally gotten you guys on
It took like five different people to get in touch
with with you, because you have like your handlers, you
have secretaries, and it's like people got in touch with
my people. It was great. Yeah, so we made it work.
I love you, guys. I love you love you too. Really,
you do what tremendous job for us. We appreciate it.

(01:49:21):
He's Brian noahm Andy Firman. Welcome back to the Fox
Posts Radio studios were brought to you by Geico. It's
easier to save fifty percent of more on curR insurance
with Geico. Gotta Geico dot com. We'll call eight hundred
nine four seven not on the only hard part figuring
out which way is easier. Knows picks in less than
ten minutes. And your team right now, the rates the Raiders.
One of those Raiders are at the Raiders the hosting

(01:49:43):
the Saints. One. It's a good game tomorrow night, SATs
rais Saints by five and AF I tell you what.
The Saints are gonna go crazy offensively. That's the key
right there. But I don't Michael Thomas, I don't see
him going great. Alvin Camara had sixteen yards on twelve
carries last week against tom I don't see them going crazy.
Now here's the The Raiders defense was bad last week

(01:50:07):
against the Panthers. Um so yeah, I think the Saints
gonna score some points, but I don't see him going crazy.
You see him going crazy? How many points do you
see the Saints? No, Michael Thomas, five points, I'm telling
you you're crazy, okay, but the look, the Saints have
to stop the running game of the Raiders. I mean

(01:50:27):
that's the key right now. That's that's a big key
right now, Josh Jacobs were you have three touchdowns and
their first win in Las Vegas history, the first win
in Vegas history this week of a Carolina So I
think it's gonna be a good game. I think there's
been a lot of offense in this game tomorrow night,
and i'd like the Saint Saints in fabled by five
and a half. Well, I look at it this way,
if you and this might be and nose picks coming

(01:50:50):
up soon. If you look at the injury issues, no
Michael Thomas with the Saints, that's a big deal. That
led the league in catches last year by a landslide.
And if you look at the Rada's offensive line, right tackle,
the starter went down, the backup went down. That's problematic. Now,
Derek Carr, he was the only Week one starter who

(01:51:10):
didn't suffer a single sack or quarterback hit. The Panthers
put no heats on Derek Carr at all. So it's
a question heading into today's game. Of course, you get
a lot more experience with that Saints pass rush in
defense collectively, it's a brand new defense basically for the Panthers.
So it's a different deal tonight, well tomorrow night for

(01:51:31):
the radas. And I think this is a reputation game
for Derek Carr andy where he's played well. He hasn't
thrown an interception in his last five games, but he
just he gets lost in the shuffle. I think most
people sort of roll their eyes and shoulder shrug Derek Carr.
This is a reputation building game where if he plays

(01:51:52):
well in a stadium opener, right first first game in
a new stadium, if he plays well against a really
good Saints team, I think that's gonna help help his
reputation a lot. And if he plays poorly, there's gonna
be a lot of people saying, see, you've never trusted
that Derek Carr guy. It's a big deal for his
rep And I'll say here's something else. He's got a

(01:52:13):
lot of pressure taken off him with the running back
Josh Jacobs because now they have somewhat of a balanced
offensive attack. They really do Jacobs, I mean, you just
feed him the ball. That's what they're gonna do. And
I think that what they're going to try to do
is keep the Saints offensive off the field by running
down the clock, by giving Jacobs the ball to pick
up some first downs. Yeah right, And I love Josh Jacobs.

(01:52:33):
He's a very good player, and um, it's a balanced attack.
I like what the Raiders do offensively. I just didn't
like what I saw on the defensive end last week.
But Derek Carr, again going back to him, He's completed
seventy one of his passes dating back to the beginning
of last season. The only guy he trails is Drew
Brees in terms of completion rate. But that's not his

(01:52:56):
reputation at all. Right, Like, what do you think the
common opinion is of Derek Carr. It's like, yeah, yeah,
it's maybe Gruden goes with Mariota, right, Like that's what
you hear. Mariota has been freaking brutal. But I think
that what happened with the Titans last year. Mariota goes down,
Tannehill comes in, takes over a two and four team

(01:53:19):
and push they take off to the a f C
Championship game. I don't think they get there with Mariota.
We know Derrick Henry meant a lot. But the point
is for the the talk to be Mariota might be
replacing Derek Carr. It's like, what but that talk, that
talk came from Gruden, I mean Derek Carr. Basically, the

(01:53:41):
knock on Derek Carr has not come from media people
or anyone else except the coaching staff. That goes it's Carr.
Okay Riota thing that that came out of nowhere, and
that came from the coach And I think maybe that
was a move to try to influence, a promote or
excite Derek Carr to do some good things this year.

(01:54:03):
And I have never had a problem with Derek Carr.
I really don't. I think he's gotta They got a
pretty good offense there. They got a good as you say,
a good balanced officer Jacobs running the football. That's a
good receivers and the defense has to tighten up. That's
what I gotta do. That's and they were brutal last year.
That was the reason why they didn't have a great
season was the defense. They were the worst in terms
of efficiency in the NFL. It wasn't the offenses problem.

(01:54:27):
You know what, I think the radars now I think
about it. It's a little bit like the Cowboys in
a way where if you look at the Cowboys last year,
just an average football team record wise, the offense wasn't
the problem. The offense was just fine with the defense.
But there's way more scrutiny on Dak Prescott. That's just
the way it goes, you know. But that's not truly

(01:54:48):
what's keeping either team from winning more games. It's on
the defensive end. I tell you what. Let me just
run this by you. They got New Orleans tomorrow, follow
that up six days, and then they got at New
England Buffalo with home and then at Kansas City. You
don't think that's a grinder of a schedule, Oh my gosh,
really start, that's a start. So bigg and that's a

(01:55:12):
good matchup. I love that matchup tomorrow night. I want
to see what Breeze can do with no Michael Thomas,
and I want to see the Radars in their new crib.
And it's Derek Carr. Man. I'm pulling for the guy
because I think he has been overly criticized and uh
look that's just gonna get louder and louder if he
has a stinker of a game against the Saints on

(01:55:34):
a national stage. That's a big one for him. It's
a big he's probably no. I'm Andy Firman. This is
Fox Football something on Fox Spots Radio. Get your bearings right, please,
that's next, don't Fox Sports Radio nose picks coming right
up about twelve minutes before the top of the hour,
that would be nine o'clock on the East Coast, and

(01:55:55):
at that time nine am on the East Coast. LaVar
Arrington and Mike Carmen will join you. You get him
on the I Heart radio app Serious x M A
E three And of course many are these same Fox
Sports Radio affiliates, LaVar Arrington and Mike harm On. Top
of the album. Right now, it's time for the top
of the best picks in the world. What my guy
knows pics. Brian no right here? Are you in desperate

(01:56:24):
need of gambling insight? Do not fear for Brian no
is here and now the time is come for p alright,
Andy Ferman. Winning Week, We start off on the winning
side Week one. Last week I had Arizona plus two
points and they won out right, huh had had the

(01:56:45):
radars against Carolina and they're basically brand new football team
almost had a clean sweep, but Dallas came up short
on the road against the Rams. But hey too, in one,
we're on the winning side. That's what we're looking for here,
So we'll try to do even better this week. There's
gonna be be a theme for all these picks. You
like this song here? Huh? You like that little low Rider?

(01:57:11):
That's the theme for the weekendy from it all unders?
All right, I'm looking at the Niners at the Jets.
The total is forty one and a half. No George
Kittle for the Niners, no Jamison Crowder for the Jets.
How are the Jets gonna score against that Niners defense?
Even with their secondary banged up. I don't see them

(01:57:32):
scoring many points. I don't know if they're gonna be
in double digits today, honestly, So I'm taking the under
in that one. What do you think about that? Yeah?
I think the Jets may luckily score one touchdown if
they can. I I pretinut that that game to be
like they're giving the Niners eight to thirty to ten.
Even if that's the case, it's still hitting the under.

(01:57:53):
So I'm taking the under in that one. Yes, little
low rider with that. Okay, now we've got um Patriots
and Seahawks. It's a little bit more daring, but it's
forty five. The Patriots have a really good secondary, They've
got a good defense. I don't think the Seahawks go
ballistic tonight and the Patriots. Are they gonna throw the

(01:58:16):
ball like crazy against the Seahawks secondary, I don't see that.
So I think that the Patriots they're gonna run the ball.
I think they're gonna chew up the clock, try to
make it a fourth quarter game. I don't see this
being a high scoring game game. I'm taking under forty good.
I got thirty eight in that game. Okas, Yeah, the

(01:58:38):
Pats aren't winning this game. That's okay, that's all right.
I'll call you tonight, hang up, okay, all right? And
the last one Saints at the Radars. The total is
forty nine. I'm smelling the under again, a little more
low right up? That's right? Yes? Why well, no, Michael
Thomas for the Saints, that's gonna restrict their offensive production.

(01:59:01):
Even against a steaky Week one Raiders defense. They stunk
it up. Yeah, but you look at the Raiders offensively,
look at the Saints. They have not allowed a one
hundred yard rusher in forty four straight games, that includes
the playoffs, So I don't think Josh Jacobs is gonna
go ballistic today. And I like that Saints defense collectively,

(01:59:25):
plus the radars, they've got right tackle issues, a lot
of injuries over there, So I'm taking under forty nine.
I think it's gonna hit Andy. What do you say?
This is the downflall game. This is the game's gonna
kill you because this game is gonna which is fifty nine. No,
you're wrong on that one again, all under all, under this, Yes,

(01:59:50):
the low Rider, it's gonna ride on through to three
and oh no this week that you're gonna see Andy Furman.
But it's your time. Time to go your own way.
And this is a great story about a real moron
who's in politics. A news sign welcoming travelers to a
Florida city is now drawing attention and raising controversy for
an unusual reason. It's in the wrong city. Clive Taylor,

(02:00:13):
a Hollywood activist Hollywood, Florida and vice president of the
Hollywood Historical Society. He sent an email to officials this
week when he saw the new welcome to Dania Beach
sign on the road medium that is securely within the
Hollywood city limits. The sign was been enough, he said,
it should have been never been there in the first place.
But to have data put up this mini bull with
lights on. It's wrong because it's welcome to Danta Beach

(02:00:35):
and you're not even in Danta Beach. It's Hollywood, Florida.
What an idiot? Go ahead, all right, I got one
for you. I love this story. I'm taking you to Malaysia.
All right, thank you. There's a student there that had
his cell phone stolen while he was sleeping. That stinks, right,
I'd like to get on my phone in the morning,
see what's going on on social media, read a couple

(02:00:58):
of stories. So he looks for its phone. He sees
that the phone cases under his bed, but no phone.
It turns out the culprit was a monkey. His phone
was stolen by a monkey over there, right, Yeah, one
of those tricky monkeys. So it turns out not only
did the monkey steal the phone, the monkey took a

(02:01:19):
bunch of selfies. He took videos, he took photos of himself.
The kid who had his phone stolen, he said, quote
my uncle was joking that maybe the monkey took some
selfies with the phone. So when I checked my phone
picture gallery, I was shocked. The suspect's face was plastered
on the screen. It was hilarious. End quote. How about that,

(02:01:41):
that's a selfie taking monkey that's complete with photos and videos.
The monkey's worth more than his phone. Really take them
to the circus was great. We are officially out of
control with our phone usage in this world. Now. Monkeys
are taking videos and photos there, they're selfieing themselves. Crazy crazy.

(02:02:02):
We can't believe it. I can't believe that our time
is up. I want to thank everybody for this is
Enjoy the games today. We'll see you next week right
here on Fox Sports Radio. Thank you be. You're listening
