have you have you? Have you Havevy Sports Saturday. Yes,

(00:21):
the fellas, I'm Anthony Gargano. Big Link is off today,
so we're just hanging you and I and I got,
I got and I need you man, I need you
big Today. I'll explain coming up what we're gonna do
this morning, and we're gonna do a little bit different

(00:42):
on the show this morning. We are live. That's right
from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. When you
switch to Farmers Insurance, you can save a bundle. All
you gotta do is call one eight eight eight Farmers
get a quote. Today. We are all right, Matt Monster

(01:04):
stating night in the NBA last night, and we'll get
to it with some triple doubles. Fifty Burgers, Jamal Murray,
Joel embid Voussovich nikolad Voussovitch was fantastic in Orlando. Uh.
But today's team will dobb dive into the NBA and

(01:25):
then a little bit later. But I'm excited to get
to today's theme because white, frankly, I need the therapy.
So this show will be entitled Love and Pain, and
it's the love and pain of being a sports fan.
We gather together every week, right fellas with you guys,

(01:52):
you gather every day with Fox Sports Radio, all the
great hosts, tune in. It's in call, tweet, you name it.
We have. We've bonded. We bond over sports. We love sports.
We may argue and scream and yell at one another
because it's out of sports love. All of our opinions

(02:17):
that clash like a soup, right, Like we just sit
here and you know that's born out of our love. Right.
We all love our different teams. Being the national uh platform,
we're gonna inherently clash and it's the beauty of it.

(02:39):
But here's the thing. We can all relate to one another.
We can relate to the love, and we can relate
to the pain of being sports fans because ultimately, quite frankly,
I do a local shot out of Philadelphia. I got
in I was a sports writer. I got in here

(03:00):
into the business because I loved sports right first and foremost,
I like to write. I loved story and so I
married the two, and then when sports radio becomes a
hot medium, it just makes sense to do that, to
be able to talk on a warmer medium. Your passion
and it's my passion, and it's big link. Obviously, maybe

(03:23):
it's his whole life's vocation out of football and his
passion for the Raiders and the whole thing. So we
meet and cove and convene through our love of the games.
And so today I want to talk to you. I
want you guys to call up today throughout the show

(03:46):
for the next four hours, and I want to talk
about your love and your pain of being a sports fan,
because I experienced both this week. All right, I'll start
where a week ago on Sunday. This is the love part.

(04:07):
So it's Sunday, you know, we do the show on
Saturday mornings. Sunday is my off day with my family,
and I have two little boys. One the youngest is
uh it will be turning eight on March one. He
his name is Massimo. All right, Now, Massimo loves baseball,

(04:30):
and which does my heart really really good? I love baseball.
I love all sports, as you know, so getting to
bond over baseball, it's like the greatest thing in the world.
And he's pretty good for a little guy, right, you know,
he's got a little skills. And so he's playing on
his travel team. And Sunday, in the middle of a

(04:53):
snow snowy weekend, he had his first practice and it's
for his travel team called the Heat, and he was
all excited. I mean the practice was at five, right,
It ran from five to like seven, and then you know,

(05:13):
at noon he was like, Daddy, ready to go, Daddy,
I mean, it's out. He was like so excited. So
we gotta practice later that night. It's fun he's gonna
he's loving it right, locked in. And he's funny because
he's a funny kid. He's a he's a jokester a lot.
But and I remarked to him, I go, dude, no

(05:36):
jokes when you're playing baseball. He was not a baseball series.
Daddy at his dynamite, right, like he loves. His favorite
movie is a movie called Twelve. It's about a kid
who gets cut from his travel team at the age
of uh twelve years old, eleven years old, and uh
he comes back the next year and gets his revenge

(05:59):
as a little eager It's a great story, right, now
you get turns. He works hard. You know, it's like
Rocky meets Little League is what the movie is. And
so Masla loves we watched the movie thousand times. So
he's all popped up ready to work. So after practice
he comes in right where I'm I'm there with him.

(06:22):
I help out as coach. He comes over because we're
getting our unis tonight, daddy, And so we go to
his coat head, coats, trunk of the car at the
bag right the plays take bag and knots holds the
uniform and he's holding this thing like it's a bag
of money, right, like with Awesome it's a bag of money.

(06:44):
So we we drive home and the bag is on
his lap and he said, day daddy, I want to
go upstairs and I want to try my uniforms. So
they want to peek in. Let was saying no, no,
no no, I want to try it on and then
I want to show you. Said all right. So it
turns out he gets two uniforms at home in the road.
Go figure. When we I was his eight, you know

(07:07):
you can look and get you look and get a
jersey T shirt. Anyway, my man comes down and he's
all grins. Right, he looks like he looks like a ballplayer.
He's his favorite players, Mike Trout right, so he he
feels like he's and he's not the thirteen. And he's
got his name Gargano on the back, and the kids

(07:30):
like beaming. Right, he's over the moon with the uniform
that he got to So he tries the one on,
which was the blue Rhodes, and then he comes in
with the orange home uniforms. He gets Jade says it again.
And then I watched him fold the uniform. And here's

(07:51):
a kid whose room is a disaster. Right, Femis should
come in. He if I told you he doesn't know
how to fold the slice of pizza, this kid faults
his uniform and it treats it with like the ultimate
care the cat, right, make sure his cat is right?

(08:13):
And if I told you, I'm watching his kid and
I'm beaming because he's beaming. I'm loving it, and I'm thinking, Wow,
I wish we could all look at sports like he's
looking at his uniform the way he looks at baseball
right now, like it's the ultimate man. I always wanted

(08:36):
a kid like that, who's got who like it just
looks at baseball with eyes like saucers. So that was
the love of sport. Later in the week comes the
pain of sport, and of course you guys have filed along,

(08:57):
and you know the biggest sports story ree, it's Carson Wentz.
And let me just tell the fans in Indianapolis. I
think he got a great trade. I think that. I
think the trade was a fleece job. I think you
bought pennies on the dollar and I think that stock roars.

(09:20):
I think he becomes an m v P type of
player again under Frank Reich. I think is he broken? Yeah,
he was broken last year. Tape doesn't lie, did not
play well. But there were circumstances that I will get
in and give you the story of Carson Wentz. But

(09:42):
for a sports fan, and I was raised an Eagles
fan in the shadow of Veteran Stadium, and as an
Eagles fan, who they've had some really good quarterbacks, but
quarterbacks that had a couple awards that just you know,
I just kept him from being Hall of Fame. My

(10:04):
favorite was Randall Cunningham, who was in the nineties and
growing up in the late eighties and nineties, he was
like this incredible wonder kin right, I mean fast could
move at a great arm, rocket type of arm. But
I didn't really know the game. Wasn't the hardest worker
type of dude got away with a lot on town

(10:27):
and then Donovan who did work a lot of hard
McNabb who worked hard. But it's just a tick off
for the very good quarterback, but just not a Hall
of Fame quarterback close. But they've never had a quarterback
who was a Hall of Fame quarterback. Mike Vick came
through here after Atlanta, after the whole stint in prison,

(10:49):
gets rehabilitated, and it's playing some incredible ball under Andy Reid.
But again he doesn't win. It's kind of the back
end of his career. They haven't never had, at least
in my lifetime, a quarterback that was a true franchise
Hall of Fame quarterback. They had franchise quarterbacks, not a

(11:11):
Hall of Fame quarterbacks. So when they take Carson Wentz,
I think Wentz, it's going to be that guy. And
I remember the year they win the Super Bowl, and
I'll tell you the whole story, the inside story, but
for the eleven games he's playing before he gets hurt
thirteen games. He's playing before he gets hurt. He's bawling out,

(11:33):
he's m VP complete MVP, he's out, he's playing out
of his mind. And then events transpire to completely knock
him off his trajectory and it goes so bad. And
then that was three years ago, mind you, they since

(11:56):
the three years they win the Super Bowl. He gets
the big contract and it goes off a cliff and
he's got to get out. It's one of the most
amazing stories, tragic, but an amazing winding tail about how
to ruin your franchise quarterback. And that's the pain, and

(12:20):
I'll give you all the details, but I want to
talk about your love and your pain. Those are mine.
We're the Fellas. We got our whole crew. Chris bo
Brian figures off links off. We'll hang with the Fellas,
and I want to talk to you guys about your

(12:43):
love and your pain. And I'll give you all the
parameters coming up. But I'm Anthony Gargano. We are the Fellas,
just getting started on a sports Saturday, Fox Sports Radio.
Thanks Chris. I get a little rick, so yeah, I

(13:09):
appreciate that. Of course, this is my football team right
in the ghetto. I see where you're going. Yeah, don't
don't forget Fellas Live from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio Studios called one eight eight Farmers to switch. You

(13:30):
can save a bundle on your auto insurance. Yeah, So
the saga of Wentz and so I give you my pain,
and I want to introduce you to the guys in
a sect. But it's the pain of Wentz. Right, I'm
seeing a kid with the immense talent ultimately just discarded,

(13:57):
traded for pennies on the dollar. And again, we're not
talking about a dude at the end of his career, right,
We're talking about a guy who was close but never
became the guy that you she should have And it

(14:17):
was a lot due to the organization Wentz Woldsome blame
for sure, but the organization. She just could write a
manual on how to destroy a franchise quarterback. So I'll
give you the quick the cliff note to the story. Wentz,
as you know, gets hurt against the Rams uh while

(14:40):
he's having an m VP season. The Eagles with the
backup quarterback Nick Falls, wins the Super Bowl. Right, they
win the Super Bowl. Falls is a hero. Everybody loves Falls.
Whence is this uber competitor, right, like he's a competiti
Frank Reich once talked about Wentz and said, no one

(15:04):
has the juice like he does. Now sometimes that juge
gets him in trouble and I'll tell you what. I'll
tell you how in a moment. But he he tears
the eight c l it's bad. He rehabs, comes back early.
He's back by week three of the season. He's not

(15:27):
really himself, but he go out whatever he's dangered. Right,
he's not himself really for the whole season. He gets
clocked a bunch of times, doesn't play well, and then
it's revealed that he has a broken bone in his back.
False comes in again and resuscitates the season. They almost

(15:48):
go back. They lose at the Superdome on a drop
pass by al Sean Jeffery. All right, that's twenty nineteen season.
He's back. Not Meanwhile, the roster continues to devolve. They
take J D Rsego Whiteside in the second round instead
of DK Metcalf. They just can't find a veteran receiver.

(16:13):
They start the season in nineteen with Descharn Jackson. He
last a half and he's throwing to Maddie, Moo and Jack.
After that, the offensive line continues to get ravaged by
injury because they were an older roster in seventeen when
they went to Super Bowl and the bad mechanics start

(16:33):
to form. He doesn't get along with Doug Peterson, who
is not the most brilliant X and O coach. He
is more of a players guy. They butt heads well.
At the end of the nineteen season, he wins four games,
throwing to nobody single handily bad division, but he wins

(16:55):
the last four games. They go to the playoffs. It's
the second series of the game and he gets planted
on the turf. Concussion. He's out, And then you got
last year. Pandemic comes in not I mean, they're only one.
He was all right, and then he was really really bad.

(17:16):
Mechanics are way off and all kinds of issues. And
then you say, well, what happened, Well, the final straw happened.
The Eagles, needing a host of talent, draft a quarterback
in the second round of the pandemic draft. Now, I

(17:37):
love Jalen Hurts, a great kid. We'll see if he
can be a starting NFL quarterback. But Whence already had
to deal with falls, and now you use a second
round pick when you had holes everywhere on a quarterback
that broke trust with the organization. It continued to get
worse from there. He had an issue with Doug Peterson.

(18:01):
There's two according to reports by multiple reports by Adam
Schefter from ESPN, h Jeff McClain from The Philippine Inquirer
that they didn't speak for eight, nine, ten weeks. Now,
I asked you, how in the world does a head
coach who's the offensive coordinator to not speak to his quarterback?

(18:26):
All right, Peterson? Subsequently he's fired, but it doesn't matter.
He's out. He doesn't want to come back. You know,
the drust the organization. He forces the trade, forces the
trade to the cults where he wants to go play
with Frank Reich. He's ecstatic. He's texting Michael Pittman on

(18:47):
a bunch of other guys from the Colts saying, I
can't wait to get there. We're gonna do some amazing things. Meanwhile,
in Philadelphia they're talking about drafting another quarterback. Are you
kidding me? That's paying even people pay? Good morning, Chris,
Good morning the man. How's it going besides getting all

(19:08):
that out. Are you feel better now? No? No, I
don't know. It's one of those things. Again, I can't
say it. I can't really cry because you're a Lions fan.
I I have. I have instituted a policy with myself
in that A I don't believe that any team gets

(19:29):
like I don't believe. Two things I believe. One, I
believe other teams should be allowed to cry about their pain.
And the second thing I also believe is that there
are more teams closer to failure and the status of
the Lions than I think. We let on. We let on,
you know it. Just I I don't want to hear
from like you know when when fans get hatty. I

(19:51):
don't want to hear from Bears fans who haven't had
a Super Bowl since, you know, almost going on forty
years here, like to say, oh the Lions are bad, Well,
you're you're kind of bad to Texans are learning that
for the Eagles. I'm just talking more about the idea
of pain when it comes to being a fan. Like
you guys have a time. You have had a ton
of pain and disappointment from two Hall of famers, all

(20:14):
timers retiring at an early age to a lack of
quarterback until Stafford comes and you traded your quarterback. That yeah,
and you know, the hope for the Lions is that
you traded him and you got a lot of picks
and maybe Jared Goffa is a reclamation or maybe that
next one is in the wings. For me, the real

(20:34):
pain I did never felt too much pain with the Lions.
I I kind of came to my team pretty late on.
I was a basketball guy growing up, but I kind
of fell in with the NFL as I started to
watch more and more football, And I guess for me,
for for me, in my twisted sense, the Lions are
always a source of humor, except for one year in
ten in a playoff year, when the one time the

(20:57):
Lions did give me hope and then the refs snatched
away by picking up a flag in Dallas. But I
totally get it. The guys retiring early hurts a lot too,
because it all it all, it comes back to it
comes back to that organization. At that point, It's like,
you're not running it well enough to keep these guys around.
What's wrong with you? Even though, like in the case

(21:20):
of Calvin Johnson, Okay, you listen to him talk, he's
clearly paying playing in pain more of a more of
a function of how he plays than where he is playing.
But yeah, everything kind of bundles up. I'm not as
if I was an Eagles fan, I wouldn't be as
torn up on Wentz going because it seems like I

(21:43):
don't know. I think I think they screwed up on
the value because they were looking for you know, those
to Stafford, what screwed up on the him is the
quarterback nurturing a franchise quarterback. They read it up. You
can read a manual on how you destroy one, so

(22:04):
I I can. That's where my lament comes from. Yeah,
they were in a position where when they got Carson Wentz,
it was right as they were landing that Super Bowl,
and it was, hey, maybe you get Wentz back and
you can see what more you can do going from there.
But I uh, my reservation Wentz always comes from these
reports we've been getting for years about what what he

(22:27):
might be in that locker room, and again a lot
of them are conflicting. Some guys have obviously spoken in
support of him too, but after a while, all right, No,
it's not he's not toxics. I'm saying the situation is
it the kid toxic because the management had it in
that coach. I couldn't build around the kid. That's why

(22:50):
it became toxic. Don't do this to me today, Chris,
good morning, Good morning. How's it going? Sont do me
a favor. There's no link, there's no figure to keep
me grounded. I'm gonna go insane if Chris keeps tweaking me.
You know what I mean? Let me have my pain, please, Yeah,

(23:12):
you can have your pain. Yeah, all right. I was
as soon as I saw the trade went through, I
was thinking about texting you, but I thought I would
let you have your space and kind of process it.
And that is a friend. I appreciate that. That's a friend.
None of it is well it's toxic. Yeah you should

(23:35):
have been toxic. No, I agree there, I shouldn't have
been toxic. Well, that's that's my lament. My lament is
after I was at the parade and the coach who
something I lucked into it says this is the new norm. Yeah, yeah,
that I mean, that is the pain I feel for

(23:55):
you guys, and that I think I want more for
it than to get the coat, says he's talking to
John Lynch and I'm referring to Doug Peterson. He's talking
to John Lynch, and he says to John Lynch, oh man,
the kid's amazing. You know, you don't know about a
guy until you get them in your building. But he's
the hardest working kid. He does this, does that. He's

(24:18):
got a great towel with a head on his shoulders.
He's gonna be an all timer. As long as we
don't screw him up. That was a quote, as long
as we don't screw him up. And they screwed him
up seven ways from Sunday. That's what happened in Philadelphia

(24:40):
with Wentz. That's why people in the indie should rejoice today.
Go ahead, No, I was just gonna add there you
were talking about the parade, and I just remember you were.
You talk a lot about pain here, and I appreciate that.
And I will say this about pain. You hear Some

(25:00):
will say just once, you just want that one? And
I know, for you know, for myself as a Lions fan,
people always ask me it's like, don't you just want
that one? And I like to tell them you say that,
but then the goalposts move in your mind. The goal
is never just get one and then what you just
kind of fall apart and go away. No, people want
to keep winning. Everyone wants what the Patriots had at

(25:21):
one point or what the Yankees had in years. Again,
like you just want to winning is a drug. Once
you taste at one time, you want to keep. It's
an addiction. You just want to keep tasting it over
and over and over. And for the Eagles, you got
to that mountaintop, but then everything swiftly taken away from you.
That's that's got to feel painful, that there is no

(25:43):
we just have this one that will soothe over that pain.
And yeah, for Carson Wentz, whatever he might be, it's
at least symbolic that this age of the Eagles is
basically if it wasn't done before, it is done now
and you just have to wonder when's the next time
you're gonna get up there? Well, right, I mean you

(26:04):
know again they had one in fifty two years, so
you can see the ineptitude had had lasted a long time. Right, So,
but it goes back to this age old adage like
we always do the hey would you sell your soul? Right,
trade ten years of irrelevance, bad football for a super

(26:27):
Bowl and my Anthrew is always no, but that's kind
of what happened. No matter what NFL town you live in,
you want to be relevant each week. You want to
have you know, uh, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling
your game. No disrespect to the other guys, but you

(26:47):
know many you want the bigness of its right, That's
a big part of it. You want to be playing,
you know, four fifteen on his Sunday, it's it's the
America's Game of the called Fox. That's a part of it.
Good morning, Brian. I am getting nauseous. I'm getting queasy

(27:10):
listening to you guys complain about a team and the
Eagles that just won the Super Bowl a couple of
years ago. You guys don't understand the plight of a
San Diego Charger fan. A team that for many years
was on the cusp of winning a Super Bowl with
LT and Philip Rivers and Marty Schottenheimer and getting the

(27:33):
a f C Championship game and injuries and all of this,
and then the team moves out of San Diego and
goes to l A. Just when you think about and
you suffering through this pain. Just realized that nobody that
has been a San Diego sports fan has ever experienced

(27:55):
in any team and there's only one pro team in
San Diego right now, a championship of any sort. Total letdown.
I'm just here to one up you in the amount
of pain tolerance. Well, I'm glad, listen. I'm thrilled that
you've given me this where you've gone this route, because
that's what the show is about today. The show is

(28:18):
not I just gave you my own pain and my
own joy, right, So I get that I started with
my kid, right, but then I devolved into the pain,
and I just gave you my story because A it's
the biggest story of the week nationally, and be I
want to hear your own pain, because pain is part

(28:42):
of being a sports fan, bra, Yeah, it is. Because
you don't want when the Padres win it this year,
all right, and Tatis is having a historic season, that
bliss that you will know, the rapture that you will
fee you we'll make it all. It'll be just all

(29:03):
the more sweeter. Yeah. And as a long suffering Clippers fan,
I know that's not cool to say around the Fox
sports radio studios where everybody's seen a Lake Clicker fan.
But like, I don't know if it's just my love
of the underdog, but I just gravitate towards that. And
I've been a Clippers fan ever since the early two thousand's,

(29:24):
watching Darius Miles and Quentin Richardson and those guys were
so fun to watch. They didn't win win a lot
of games, but they were an exciting brand of basketball,
and it goes back to like the Padres and like
if we could get a Clipper championship and bring that
to l A, Oh how sweet that would be and
how much I would love to rub that into l
A Laker fans faces. Yeah, I listen. I appreciate God

(29:47):
like you, you know, because you're in it, you know,
nDEP minority, even more so than like say New York,
where everybody's a Yankees fan, and but the Mets have
their their more even the White Sox had their core.
But of all the two teams the cities with two teams,

(30:07):
the Clippers are are the biggest step job of all
of them, you know, and last year, quite frankly, I
still don't know how they didn't win that The best roster.
It was ridiculous to go from three one to losing.
I think the problem was Paul George and I hope
that he's learned and work through some issues with the

(30:28):
team and the culture. And I know that Doc Rivers
was the fall guy. He wasn't really the one that
should have been blamed. I think it was Paul George.
But hopefully he's learned from everything. And yeah, we're living
in the shadows of the Lakers at Staples Center, but
it's it sounds like the Clippers are building their own
arena thanks to having I think the richest owner in
the NBA. So at least we have that going you got,

(30:51):
you'll have hope. You got at least she got a
little bit of hope that you clinked to bright And
it's with some trending and would you yes, sir, let's
get right into it's The Australian Open had its women's
final that just finished up a couple of moments ago,
Naomi Osaka winning in straight sets over former u C
l A Bruin Jen Brady six four six three, Osaka

(31:14):
dropping only one set over the course of her seven
matches at this event. Is her fourth major crown in
the NBA. Last night, the Clippers clamped down on the
Western Conference leading Jazz one sixteen, one twelve by Leonard
and Paul George, making their triumphant return after dealing with injuries,
Leonard putting up twenty nine points in Paul George chipping

(31:36):
in with fifteen. The Son's embarrassed the Pelicans on fourteen,
Phoenix outscoring New Orleans and the fourth quarter forty one
to twelve. Chris Paul, distributing the basketball all over the place,
had nineteen assists. He was plus twenty eight in the
fourth quarter alone. The Bucks clean up the thunder five

(31:56):
honest Onto Dakupa at twenty nine points a season height,
nineteen rebounds and eight assists, ants seventy sixers stick it
to the bulls one one five is dwell and bead
coming through with fifty points, doing it mostly for mid
range and also in the paint. And then after the
game when he that MVP performance, Yeah, it was fantastic.

(32:18):
And then he made it when he spoke afterwards that
he probably should already win it. He was very braggadocious.
I love it, I love it, he said, you know what,
I'm the best on defense and offense. And I'm willing
to be the best. And he just listed off all
of these different reasons why he is the best, no question.
And finally, and Jamal Murray had fifty points as well,

(32:40):
and he did it without attempting a free throw. Has
not happened in NBA history, somebody going for that many
points without a free throw. The Nuggets grind up the
Calves one, one oh three. What is going on with
the Calves? They have lost nine straight. Let's get back
to the Fellas. Anthony Gargano, Oh you, Brian, I appreciate it.

(33:01):
We are the Fellas, big link off. Today we're hanging
with you on this February Saturday, having some fun talking
about the joy and the pain. Right, it's the love
of the pain. I gave you the love of Mike
Son and a little boy he's turned in eight, My

(33:22):
little Moss who is a baseball kid. And I just
I'm over the moon with it. It was when he
got his uniforms, having being able to look at sport
through those eyes. Man, it's beautiful looking at it vicariously
through him. It's just it's fantastic. And I gave you
the pain. Now you Greb Brian did a great job,

(33:45):
much better job than Chris at describing his pain. I
don't have pain. I process pain very differently. You know what, actually,
you know what. You know what pain is for me?
Pain is watching, pain is watching one of the best
hitting line I've ever seen, will hold the hold the thought.

(34:05):
I want to hear about your pain. Well, you know,
you know again, your line's pain is not enough. You know, anguish.
I need more pain and anguish out of you and
bow you two. All right, I need some pain. And
then we're gonna open it up to our friends listening
around the country, and then we're gonna get share of

(34:29):
the stories of the joy and the pain, the North
Pole and the South Polar Sports where the fellas, I'm
cause right here Fox Sports Radio. All right, fellas, I'm

(34:49):
cause big link off today live from the Farmer's Insurance
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight eight. Farmers.
You can save a whole lot of something on auto insurance.
By the way, we want to talk to you. I
want to do a whole thing this morning about the
love and the pain from this week, and I want

(35:09):
to hear your stories because I want to bond over
this It's the whole concept of being a sports fan
is having the shared experiences and shared feelings, right, and
we can all relate even though they are different teams.
So I want to hear from you at eight seven
seven six three six nine eight seven seven on Fox.

(35:35):
All right, I really want to hear from you on
this and when you do so, you can share the
story of the love that I told you or the
pain I do. We do find pain more interesting, right,
It's kind of the basis of the plots, and drama
is the pain. And I also when wherever you're calling from,

(36:00):
because we and I do this at home on my
local show. Now, obviously it's different because it's regional, but
I want to hear your favorite place that during the pandemic,
you know, might have have suffered from business. We know
about small business, but your favorite place to get a meal?

(36:22):
What is it? And you're gonna give a place a YO.
And in Philly we call a shout out of yo.
I want to give a YO to Chris who boom
like this right, here's the spot, So give it YO
to your favorite your favorite bar, restaurant and what you'd

(36:42):
like to get there. So you're gonna be doing that
and sharing and giving me the stories of your pain,
your joy and uh, this is our bond and those
of you and listening in Indianapolis who are Cults fans. Congratulations,
you're going to get the comeback Player of the Year

(37:04):
and you're gonna be in it next year big time
at the the Super Bowl contender. Yeah, I say it completely,
all right, Chris, you said you had a story of pain,
Tiger pain. What is it? So I think we hit
upon this is because you focus on me as a

(37:25):
Lions guy, but I'm all Detroit and everything and the
Lions is pain forever. So it's just it's just funny
at this point. It's kind of joker fied. Uh. For
the Pistons, It's been so long since I've had real
joy there that that pain is dull. But for me,
in my mind, the pain of the Tigers is still fresh,
even though it's now going on eight years here. And

(37:47):
that is looking at those teams in the tents who
are really good, really good I'm both hitting and pitching,
but most of all, looking at when you had that
pitching lineup, when you had Verlander and you had Scherzer
and you had on a ball Sanchez, and you had
I'm forgetting a bunch of other guys. They're just just

(38:10):
a power lineup. And you had hitters like Miguel Cabra,
reigning Triple Crown, Triple Crown Rain Prince Fielder, Victor Martinez.
You had all those guys, you had hitting out of
the park. You had starting pitching that we're throwing all
close to no hitters or Verlander I think took a
perfect into the seventh that year. And you get to

(38:32):
the Playoffs and you've got the pain of the World
Series behind you, that pain of just getting blanked by
the Giants. Get it. It's an even year. The Giants,
they're gonna kick you around. But then you meet the
Red Sox and then you meet and then you realize
the Tigers don't have a bullpen and they don't have
a closer, and then they're struggling, they're fighting, and they're

(38:56):
getting just enough, just enough to get by. And then
there comes an eighth inning and here comes Big Poppy
and here comes the Grand Slam out into the deep
field multiple games and there goes Hunter. There goes Tory
Hunter to catch that damn, that damn home run, and
there he goes, he flips over the outfield wall, and

(39:19):
there's that Boston cop cheering the whole time as he
flipped midair. And there's Boston talk, all the Boston fans
sitting around gloating and saying about talking about their own pain, saying, well,
we haven't one at home yet in a World Series.
And I'm just sitting there, like the Tigers haven't won
a World Series two years before I was born. I

(39:44):
I can't, like, I don't want to hear Boston fans
talking about pain when I'm sitting there just watching this
team with all this talent, carefully matriculating, putting it together,
and all it takes is one errand just swing a
big poppy and it all collapses. Everything. Your house of cards,

(40:04):
your your ego, your pride, all in the gutter. Now,
oh my god, Chris, that was brilliant. I stopped watching
the Tigers after that. I still haven't forgiven them. I
haven't get forgiven myself. I haven't forgiven myself. Sitting in
a bar using my mind. I feel it, man, I
actually feel it. The great baseball town that is Detroit,

(40:29):
great sports down all right. I want to hear from
you guys, coming out where the Fellas Big Link is
off today. I'm couse hanging out with you right here
Fox Sports Radio. All right, well, good morning, good morning,
good morning, Happy sports Saturday to everyone. Hope you're morning

(40:52):
or late night is going well because in Link off today,
I got my I got my crew. Brian is on trendings.
You here, Chris and Bo the staples of the program.
So today's theme and we'll get into the NBA. We'll

(41:12):
dive deeply into the all the quarterback drama because it's
not just in Indianapolis and Philadelphia, but it's running rampant
and who is the next quarterback to move? It is
amazing that the two top picks of that draft in

(41:32):
Jared Goff and Carson Wentz both get moved pretty pretty astounding.
Is DeShawn Watson the next guy? Or is it Sam Donald?
What really strikes me about the Wents thing is the
fact that there's just no communication. And it's like that

(41:54):
with Houston too. I mean, at some point, I mean,
don't you gotta beat the guy's door. Don't you gotta
knock on the door and go, hey the Sean. I
know you're upset, I know, you know, like you know
there's something going on, but I'm here. Let's talk, alright,
GM and coach come in with and they come in

(42:17):
and with with a pizza at the door. Hey, let's
sit down, have a slice, talk about life. Can we
get past this? All right? Can we please get past this?
That's what he needs to do. That's what needs to happen.
There needs to be communication, and the lack of communication

(42:40):
across this league is amazing to me, it really is.
It's astounding. Fellas live in the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio studios. Call one eight eight eight Farmers to switch.
You can save an average of four undred and seven
dollars an auto insurance. That's a out of money for

(43:00):
a quick phone call, don't you thank average Nationwide Annual
Savings Survey data July to December twenty twenty. We are
so just that thought about it. We'll dive into all
the quarterback situations. Big Ben the latest quarterback who is

(43:21):
on the outs as well. It's amazing the quarterbacks and
the musical chairs being played in that arena in sports
most precious position. All right, let's get it started. I'm
gonna talk to some of our people and I really
want to bond with you guys over the joy and
the pain. I told you about my little uh my

(43:44):
little guy, and how he looked at his baseball uniform
with these wide saucer eyes, and then I gave you
the pain that I felt over Carson wentz uh getting
jettison out of of off your early and never becoming
that franchise all timer that that franchise has lacked. What

(44:09):
is it your pain? You heard Brian give you some
San Diego pain. You heard my man Chris give you
a little Tigers pain? What is your pain? Eight seven
seven six three six nine. Let's go to Russell in Dallas.
Good morning, Russell, Hey, what's up man? How you doing

(44:32):
this morning? How you feeling man? How are you doing
that there all that weather man? Look, my my sleep
is off, man, because the power been off all week,
so I've been having to wake up to load more
wood in the fireplace. But the power came back on Friday,
so I'm trying to back together again. I can only imagine.

(44:53):
I mean, you're not used to that kind of weather.
I mean, and that was extreme that guy you got.
We're back, Hey, I could see my breath in the
house without holding the fireplace with dinning. But look, hey,
you wanted to before I give my YO. Let me
tell you real quick, I feel your pain because I'm

(45:13):
a RAM fan for like twenty two years now. But
and we got rid of golf. But look, at least
you got a super Bowl with your team. We we
we we got to look at the super Bowl and
didn't get it. So now we're starting over with Matt Stafford.
I don't know how this is gonna go, but um,
I want to give a YO out to water Burger
two miles around the corner from the house. Any time

(45:36):
of the day, if I felt like I want something
to eat and my wife was working, or if I
didn't feel like making something, I was just hopping the
car and ride around the corner. And even when the
power has been out in this neighborhood, the grocery store
shells are empty. That water Burger was humping even with
a mile long line. I just want to give a
YO out to the water Burger and compelled Texas. That's

(45:56):
all I got, man Man Yo Ross the baby. Best
in luck to you, brother, Thank you. I appreciate that.
What a burger I'm that with. What a burger That
sounds all right. I love we got a first yo, Chris,
that's awesome. I got I got a couple of years myself. Yeah,

(46:17):
let me do the So I want to do one
from Toledo, but also want to do one. I want
to start with this one. It's a give you one now,
go to Buddies Pizza. Yo, Yo to Buddies Pizza in Detroit.
I I Detroit style pizza is starting to finally become
a thing across the country. So give a yo to
the originator. You do me face, what's up? I explained

(46:39):
to me. Detroit pizza. Is it more Greek style pizza?
So imagine a Sicilian square pizza, right, but instead of
kind of you know, yeah, it's baked in a deeper pan,
a very deep pan. You get a few inches just
kind of almost like a pan pizza, but it's square.
But you also used Wisconsin brick. He's on it. That's important.

(47:01):
And you lay layer that that cheese right up to
the crust. So when it bakes, most of the crust there.
As you're eating the slice, it's chewy. But then when
you hit the crust the end, you get the caramelized
cheese and a lot of crunch and then you put
a little you put the toppings on top, you put
a lot toppings on and a lot of places like
Buddies then put the sauce kind of ladle, like a

(47:24):
line of sauce on top of the pizza. But the
reason why you do that instead of putting it under
the cheese is you keep the crust very light and airy.
All right, But I've heard a lot about the Detroit pizza. Yeah,
I know it's in the I've had some people asking
me because I know Pizza Hut rolled out their version,

(47:45):
which isn't great, but people are asking about Detroit pizza
and it's no longer like pizza from Detroit. Is that like,
you know, just trash listen, I get it. There's certain
regions now, obviously Chicago has always had it, you know,
I'm Philadelphia. In New York, it's very similar. Boston has
a style. But I've heard it. I've heard a lot

(48:06):
about the Detroit. I'm a pizza snow. I love pizza.
So unfortunately, Buddies is going national, so we'll see. I know,
at least in New York there's been several places of
Detroit transplants who have brought you know Detroit pizza to
new you appreciate that, al right. Speaking of Michigan, let's
go to Bob. Bob, you're on with the Fellas on
Fox Sports Radio. Hello, Bobby, Hey, how are you doing today?

(48:31):
Good man? What do you got from? We got some pain? Yeah? Well,
first I want to do a little shout out. Buddies
is good, but clover Leaf had the best pizza in Detroit.
Got you gotta give me a yo. You can't do
na my pain. I could kind of go with Mr
Prefet there on the Tigers, maybe the early Red Wings

(48:51):
and the block punt Michigan Michigan State game was the killer.
But I love a season ticket holder at the Silver
Dome for a good part of Barry's career. And you
know how he ran game to game one, lose three
game one game and uh when the stadium was packed.

(49:15):
Every time they handed him the ball, the entire stadium
just stamped forward. And when he broke onto what people
jump up at once. It was just was just incredible.
I had. I had the good fortune I used to
write these really long profiles for The New York Post.

(49:37):
When I got to the first kind of Sunday newspaper,
And so I spent two weeks in Detroit with Barry
and watching what you said. And first of all, he
was the classiest guy you ever want to meet. At
second of all, you you captured it so perfectly that
minus one, that too, that minus three and all of

(50:00):
a sudden, bang five Bobby. That is incredible joy. Oh
yeah it was. I'm a chef and I've had the
privilege of cooking for a month on several occasions. What
did you Oh, that's what did you make for Barry Sanders?

(50:21):
Um in Royal Oak? No? What what this did you make?
Would you make? Um? Well? He was just uh, it
was just kind of a bar, kind of a place
at that time. You know. That's actually I think it
was pizza. I think you had if I remember right,
all right, and making your own pie. The oh yeah,
well I'm at work. I'm at work right now. You

(50:44):
I appreciate that. I have a great day, my friend.
Thanks for sharing it. That's cool man. How about that Chris,
one of your that's one of your brothers. Yeah, it's
always funny people talk about Barry because I just I
was a little to remember and I was too much
in the basketball so yeah, Like it's always fun and

(51:04):
I love watching little clips of Barry too. But he's
a from everything I know now for his time around
the Lions. He's a very kind hearted man and just yeah,
he's a staple around Detroit. Man. I love it. I
love that's great stuff. All right, Uh, We're gonna do
take quick t o and then I want to keep
it coming. Man. I want to talk to you guys.

(51:24):
I want your yo's. I want and getting yos a
shout out, and we want to do it to your
favorite local eatery, bar, restaurant, whatever it is, and whatever
the dishes that you order. Hey, you never know when
one of your brethren, one of our brethren, right, he's
on the road and needs a spot, and they find

(51:45):
yourself in your hometown boom so and then give us
your pain or your joy. It's to reach us. It's
eight seven seven six three six nine. I'm Big Link
is off where the fellas every week with you Fox Sports.
Ready a welcome back, Fellas. I'm athany go over Linking Kennedy.

(52:16):
That's us every week, Big Links off today, Fellas. Of course,
I brought you by Farmers Insurance Call one eight eight
eight Farmers to switch. You can save a bundle on
your auto insurance. You're bonding this morning over the joy

(52:38):
the pain. That's the theme of the show I wanted
to do. It's one of these days, you know, all
these February days are there's some there's some good NBA.
Last night, right, Jamal Merry goes off fifty burger without
going to the line. Vossovic with a big triple double,
and of course my man, the mv P. In my eyes,

(53:02):
Joel and beat Lean Beast with a monster last night. Bow.
I know there's gonna be all kinds of Lebron. M
VP has already been talking. All those guys are Lebron
at this age, and yeah, he's a marvel, so I'll,

(53:22):
without a doubt admit that. But to me, you take
and beat off the sixes, that's barely a playoff team.
I mean, with Anthony Davis being heard, I think the
same applies to the Lakers in a more difficult conference too. Yeah,
but Anthony Davis normally would would be there. I'm talking
about everybody's healthy. If everybody's healthy, you take Lebron, you

(53:47):
still have Anthony Davis. You take and beat off, you
don't have what you got. No, No, I think you're right.
I just I think the national media has kind of
decided that Lebron when in the MVP, is going to
be the narrative just because, like you said, he's trying
to fight that narrative. Yeah, I think uh. I think
a lot of them are kind of regretting their vote

(54:08):
from last year too, because, I mean, if we're being honest, like,
I think Lebron would have won the MVP last year
because the Lakers in in the same weekend, they beat
the Clippers, and they beat the Bucks, and Lebron you know,
played his normal Lebron type game and both of those
So I think if the season had continued, you would
have kind of seen the narrative shift. And I think

(54:29):
J honest is starting to suffer a bit from the
voter fatigue that Lebron does as well. Yeah, I think
you're right. I think you're right, But I kidding side,
I think you're right. I do think it Beach put
it all together, and we haven't seen the big I
think there's there's some big men, big man bias out
there against against the big man. I don't think we
appreciate the big as much as we should. By the way,

(54:50):
I agree with that speaking in another big and who
also should be in the conversation. The Joker is ridiculous.
I mean what the Joker does every day. Oh my god.
I know Mary had an amazing night last night, but
the Jokers ridiculous. He's uh, He's definitely one of my
favorite players to watch. Uh. The stuff he does basically

(55:13):
playing point guard as you know, like a seven football
fat guys amazing. I mean is I watched him and
I marvel sometimes, I mean completely marvel. Yeah. That that
Western Conference Finals last year was the most stressful playoff
series I've ever watched as a Lakers fan. Yeah. Yeah,

(55:34):
I feel your brother, I feel you. I let's uh,
let's continue our travel throughout the country this morning, and
if you want to join out eight seven seven six
six three six nine eight seven seven on Fox. Uh,
let's go to Jacob in Colorado Joker Country. Hello Jacob,

(55:56):
Hey there, I'm a I'm a fake Colorado and I'm
actually from Michigan and I'm just out here to ski.
But uh, you know, Chris brought up some some PTSD
with the Tigers. Uh. I went to school out in
the northeast and uh, man, I was at the game
with my We tell you talk about heartbreak. I remember

(56:18):
that weather too. It was awful weather that whole series,
it felt like it was. It was absolutely brutal, you know,
being the only one at Fenway cheering when they went
up to one. After that, Victor Martinez hit off the
Green Monster and then uh, and then Jose Verets decides
to loopen a curveball, leave it up high, and you know,

(56:39):
flying Hawaiian Shane Victoria of course, just takes that over
the wall. Just absolutely heartbreaking. Had to had to drive home.
You know, I'm not very happy, but uh, but just
you let me tell you something I so appreciate. You know,
why you're a great fan is that it's Indelli ball

(57:00):
in your mind, that moment that you could talk about
hanging that hanging curve ball right that you can that
you can feel it. You demonstrated to me like you
brought me into that moment, and I actually feel your pain. Brother. Yeah,
you know, it's still haven't recovered and hopefully they hopefully

(57:22):
they pick it up. But Michigan sports these days not
not not the happiest sight. I do think you're going
to a right direction with the lines. I do. I
do think that there. I think they're heading for some
you know, good times after the rebuild, but clearly and

(57:43):
I think I've hit on a loadstone here because I
mean that that game was psyche shattering if you like
the Tigers in any capacity, like just again, as he said,
he hasn't recovered either, Like you remember where you are
watching that game, all that talent, all that promise, and
in the end, it just it doesn't matter. And for me,

(58:03):
I remember myself in a bar with a kind old
Australian compo, a couple visiting. I was living living in
Georgia at the time, and I just remember them visiting
and wondering why I was getting so so torn up
about a sport they knew nothing about, and I just
I'm just like, you don't get it, Like I I
can't explain to you how what I am feeling in

(58:24):
my brain as I'm watching these Red Sox just tear
apart one of the best lineups I've ever seen in baseball. Yeah, man,
I it's so funny that to me is the height
of the pain, right that when you could come in
and like he like, yeah, I listened to YouTube guys,

(58:46):
and he the way he the way he describes it,
like you can and you could feel the raw Boston weather, right,
there's nothing like the playoff baseball like October or baseball.
And when it's played in those places like Cleveland or

(59:06):
Boston where the weather becomes raw and then you know,
it's torturous, just that even when it's not raining, just
that cold, right like spittle. I was always always heard
across spittle when I was growing up, just that that
little bit of just you know, not quite rain, but
you can still feel it against you cold. It's just

(59:29):
all and and you know the ballpark is dressed up
in bunting, right, it's it's got that you know, big feel.
It's every pitch by pitch. Wow, that's great stuff, man.
That's why that's why we you know, that's why we
watch baseball. Is like, if you have a rooting interest
in a baseball playoff series, it's genuine the best. It's

(59:50):
it's the best, and it's also hell if you're just
you know, it's awful, it's the worst. Hey, it's it's
fifty heart attacks in a three hour span. Carry caring
about every single pitch is the worst and then you know,
like I mean, the moments in each game they either
go one way or the other way, like in the

(01:00:11):
and the n LDS this last year when Tatia's tattooed
that ball, it's just carrying and carrying and carrying. My
heart sank in my like into my chest. This is
why I hate when people kind of like bag on
baseball and say nobody's watching, because like you're missing out
on this. It is. Playoff baseball is the most stress
inducing moment. It feels great when you win, and it

(01:00:34):
feels unspeakably awful when it all when it crashes down
for you there right and that and that's the point,
Like you want you want that feeling that that you
were you're you're on the tip and you start to
feeling you're rocking back and forth and you're looking down
and you're going, oh my god, it's a long way down.
And you want that was that feeling in that in

(01:00:56):
your stomach. And I agree with you. Baseball has all that, man,
that's playoff baseball. We have a character here at Fox
Sports Radio called playoff bursh Uh, your old producer, old
producer Ryan Burschinger. Uh. If the Dodgers are in a
playoff game in bursches at work, forget about it. It's
it's a mess. He's he's not doing anything. He's standing up,

(01:01:19):
he's hitting chairs. It's it's quite a sight to Bill.
I appreciate that, man. That's where you should he should
be that way. That's what it's about. Like those moments,
cataloging those moments, that's what it is all about, like
feeling that. I agree. It's funny he's brought up baseball
because I I hate the same thing. I hate when

(01:01:42):
people rag on it. Now, Listen, MLB is a different story,
because seven inning doubleheaders is stupid. Yeah, no clue. I
hate what MLB has done to the sport, but I
still love it, and I still think it's you know,
it's beautiful, and especially when it's played at its highest level,

(01:02:06):
when you're grinding out pitch by pitch. I just think
it's lazy to constantly talk about, well, the ratings are down,
so nobody's watching, so we shouldn't care. Okay, if you
don't care about baseball, that's fine, but don't try to
come up with like a business angle for it. Just
say you don't like watching the sport or just say
I can't think of any storylines I don't want to
I want to talk about but don't try. I I

(01:02:28):
just genuinely I draw the line, and I'm like, don't
try to tell other people to sports talk radio lazy.
Nobody cares about baseball. Yeah, Like, don't don't try to
tell other people they shouldn't care about it because it's
no longer popular. Like, let people decide for themselves. And
if again, if you have a story to tell about it, yeah,
I'm with you on that one, brother, I really am.

(01:02:51):
I'll tell you what Brian trending, all right, and then uh,
that baseball stuff is. It's so important you as a
padres man, this is where all your hope lies. And
I give him a ton of credit. Are you? You
have the butterflies already, Like this is coming into a long, fun,

(01:03:16):
dramatic season for you. What's the most exciting about this
is seeing Dodger fans act like they're not nervous on
the surface, but deep down they very much are. And
so I love looking into their soul and realizing the
insecurities that are coming up because this team downstadt talking

(01:03:37):
about oh yeah you and I mean Look, here's the thing. Uh,
San Diego is awesome because they're putting together a team
and they're doing it when everybody else in baseball is
pretending they can't do it anymore. Like San Diego spent
what like almost a billion dollars on their infield, well
their top three guys. They're spending like they've like over
seven invested in there, and I mean it's awesome with

(01:04:00):
they're doing. Uh. They also had like career years from
every single one of their hitters last year, and they
still lost the division by like ten games. Yeah, but
the Dodgers pitching also got better because they did add
the guy that won the Cy Young last year. Well,
the Padres added pitching to this offseason, and I think

(01:04:22):
they made some good decisions in that department. So I
would you know, I think you're speaking a little bit
too soon, and if you look, I will I will
give I already have a wing bet with Rob Parker,
but I will also play a wing bet with you
that the Dodgers will very handily win the n O
West again. Okay, well are you very handily? I think
by at least ten games? Yeah, Okay, I'll take you

(01:04:45):
up on that. Yeah, you bet he's getting fresh. I
think the Padres are awesome. Man. It's like I said,
like everybody and I think they're awesome. Everybody games, but
I think they're all It's not their fault that they're
stuck in a division that has an absolute juggernaut. There's

(01:05:05):
that's they want to they want their fault. Well, yeah,
they want to shortened season. But obviously I triggered you,
which played right into the narrative that I was saying.
Dodgers fans they haven't been like this before Dan or
or for a long time. They get triggered now by
Padres fans bragging. They feel like they have to speak up.
And look what bo just did. I was talking. He

(01:05:27):
spoke up because there was something I said that sparked
a fire in him. And that's not something that like fans.
Does it sound like I'm afraid of the Padres. I
don't know. It's the exact same, No, I mean, it's
just I mean they made a bunch of moves and
that's awesome. But uh, like Chris was saying, like when

(01:05:48):
people kind of talk about baseball, I don't think they
really take time to think about it because there's you know,
there's a lot of people that when the Padres made
all their moves, started to pick them to win the
division and all that stuff. But then the Dodgers went
out and signed Trevor Bauer and so you kind of
have to readjust then. And you know, like, like I said,
the Padres had a bunch of guys that had career

(01:06:09):
years last year, and then they kind of tailored off
at the end of the year, and then when we
when they got into playoffs, they got swept, I think,
and like Tatise, I don't think he had a hit
in that series. Machado kind of cooled off a little bit.
So they're just they're relying a lot on like guys
like Jake cronin Worth to repeat a season that they
had last year, and I don't know if they're going
to do that. You forgot about a guy by the

(01:06:30):
name of Blake Snill. Was that the guy my life? Bro?
Was that the guy that was on the mound in
Game six of the World Series. Man, he's got he's
bringing some fire. I mean, are you gonna take that?
They're they're my kids, the kids getting fresh with you.
It's a sixty game season or whatever it was. So

(01:06:50):
let's have a full season and then let's see what happens. Yeah,
but so let me ask you. Let me it's the question,
would you deem that world see reas that pandemics shortened season,
World series as fabogus? You know what? Normally, normally I would.

(01:07:12):
And but because I'm an EmPATH, and you know, I
don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
But as a sports fan, I feel so sorry for
Dodgers fans and how three World Series they puked. They
lost three straight World Series. So I feel like, just
give him something, give him a bonus, give him something.

(01:07:35):
We all know. We all know the Astros cheated. And
if you're gonna pull the short season stuff, then why
we're Padres fans in the streets celebrating a wild card
victory over the Cardinals who were awful last year. I
mean I wasn't out there celebrating, It's just the entire
fan base was them. Okay, well, now you're just getting

(01:07:56):
smart and slimy, and I don't think that that's an
a fair ass that's been Actually, how things really you
getting fresh? Dude? Look at you? Well, you guys didn't
even do a parade afterwards, because that's the worst I've
wanted nothing more than to go to a Dodger's parade
in my entire life, and I'm not going to get
to do it. There were more neighborhood for that. By

(01:08:19):
the way, Bow, you gotta you gotta, you gotta bet
another bet you got the tasty cake bet. I tell
you bat it all the time. We have a listener
who's a purvayor of tasty cakes. There's my yo to
the tasty cakes. They're basically, you know, dessert cakes, right
like Drake's and all, except there's really delicious. And he

(01:08:43):
says he'll take the padres to get within the ten games.
I mean, I'll take that action. I'm confident. Also, I
also want to say one more thing. We did mention
how you know, gut wrenching and called playoff games are
and the Dodgers that won the World Series played more

(01:09:04):
playoff games than any World Series team had before them
because of the expanded playoffs and all that. Can I
also add that Bows in Oklahoma football fan, and they
do a lot of losing in the football playoffs, So
let's just let that in there as well. I'd rather
get there and lose them not get there at all? Right,
all right, no, no, I need I need trending to.

(01:09:25):
We're gonna have to put you there. I can't believe
separate corners. Man. I love a good sports fight. Speaking
of a fight, there wasn't much of one on the
tennis court. Australian Open Women's Championship going to Naomi Osaka,
breezing in two sets over former U C. L A.
Brewing Jen Brady six four to six three, Osaka winning

(01:09:48):
her fourth major, her second Ozzie Open. She's also won
two US Opens in the NBA. Last night, the Clippers
skewer the Ustern Conference, leading Jazz One sixteen to one twelve.
Kwi Leonard shoveling up twenty nine points and Paul George
had fifteen points. Both of those guys making their return
after missing some action because of injuries. And after the game,

(01:10:09):
Clippers said coach Ty Low and asked about the return
of Leonard and George said quote, I thought they were
pretty rusty handling the basketball timing. That's always going to
happen when you sit out. I loved the way they
competed close quote the Sun's whizz past the Pelicans oneteen
Phoenix outscoring New Orleans in the fourth quarter forty one

(01:10:31):
to twelve. Chris Paul nineteen assists as he led that
fourth quarter come back. The Bucks butcher the thunder five
Janie onto the Kombo, multitasking with twenty nine points the season,
I nineteen rebounds and eight assists. The seventies six ers
pierced the Bulls one one oh five. Joel Embiid had
fifty points and seventeen rebounds, and his teammates Tobias Harris

(01:10:54):
said afterwards, quote, I'll tell my kids one day I
played with Joel Embiid. When asked me, who is the
best player I've ever played with, I'll say Joel Embiid.
Close quote Jamal Murray fifty points as well. It was
a great quote. And Murray, with his fifty points from
last night, did it without attempting a free throw, which

(01:11:16):
has never happened in NBA history to get to fifty
without attempting something from the charity stripe. The Nuggets numb
the Calves one one h three heroes Murray's stats and
from the floor eight of ten from three point range.
The Calves, by the way of suffered nine straight losses

(01:11:38):
and finally your Eagles, and they cut a wider sever
to Sean Jackson. Now he still has intentions of playing,
but his one touchdown and fourteen catches and all of
the season might make that a little bit of a challenge.
Perhaps he could find a spot in the A A
f Except they're not actually leading more, but there they're

(01:12:01):
the Eagle struggles. It was Carson Wentz's fault. It was
all wet. But you know, your dad would say the
absolute opposite. And he's with you on the radio, he's
got he's he's called into your own show, your dad
and said your take on Wentz is not right and
that he doesn't have as much confidence in him as

(01:12:22):
you do. And I know you know what I'm talking about. Yeah,
I appreciate that, brother, That's great. We are the fellows
brought you the man appreciated babe. Hanging out on a
Saturday morning across the country. As we hang out, we

(01:12:44):
talk about our pain, we talk about our love, our
sports love. Perfect time too, the court of the little
slow February time of the year before we get to
the tournament, and then masters started Baseball n b A
n h ump lay offs, the whole thing you know,
it's the it's the perfect time to kind of talk

(01:13:04):
about all of our pain. We are the we are
the Fellows, right, and we come the Alive from the
Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight
eight Farmers and you could save a whole lot of
something on auto insurance. That's right, all right, We're gonna

(01:13:27):
come back, and we're gonna I want to get back
to your phone calls and you can reach us. I
see Phil in p A. I want to talk to you, Philly.
I want to talk to Corey in Atlanta and I
want to hear about your pain. Also, we have some
open lines if you want to take in. It's eight
seven seven six three six nine eight seven seven three

(01:13:49):
six nine. I gotta tell you about you are a
nice dude, right quiet, except when the Dodgers come up
in the conversation, you turn out you could be a bully,
how about you. I'm not trying to be a bully.
You're just bullying, Brian. Bring up the Lakers sometime around

(01:14:13):
you just transform bow the bully. I just I just
like people to honestly represent the reigning World Series champions.
That's all you got it, Bro, listen. You know, listen.
I'm coming from a caustic place, so you know that
doesn't offeend me. I like a little. I like some

(01:14:34):
banter like that. Well, I just think you usually mild manner.
I've never seen this side of yet. This this you know,
this fresh kid. It's pretty impressive, you know. Yeah. I
mean this is after one World Series, so God help
us all of we want another one this year. If
I was Brian, I'd be like, yo, dude, Well see, Brian,

(01:14:56):
Brian gets himself in trouble because he spent all last
year telling me how the Clippers were going to win
the title, only to have to watch the Lakers win
that one and then the Dodgers you know, sweep the
Padres and win the World Series. So I mean, you know,
it's just just to the NBA title than I do
to that World Series. Why, I'm going to be real

(01:15:19):
about it. There's more. They the Dodgers played more playoff
games than any other team had before. They played sixty games. Yeah,
but the regular season in baseball doesn't matter, Yeah, but
it does in that it's an attrition. It's a war
of attrition, right, so who knows what happens if you
play on it in sixty two games and with real

(01:15:40):
getting not not just seven inning nonsense. Well, I don't
think the Dodgers played mini seven inning whatever I'm just
talking about. In general, I think I think the math,
the math was actually done. And what a team is
at at sixty games is about where they finish in
a full one sixty two season. Say that to the
Washington Nationals the other year where they started out really slow.

(01:16:04):
And we'll always have exceptions, okay, and those Nationals, I think,
after the All Star Breaker whatever like, have the best
record in baseball. Yeah. So I dunked on bow right there?
Take that bow that was. That was a poster, That
was a post. That was Anthony Edwards last night driving
base was Anthony Edwards with a really nice dunk and

(01:16:28):
nothing else in the game. And I think a here
we go, Here comes the stat guy to Ruinette, was
the box score reader. Alright, oh listen, I would come
to your defense, but I think you deserve a little
little chestie. All right, we're gonna come back. I love
it where the fellas hanging out. We'll take your call

(01:16:51):
straight ahead right here on Fox Sports Radio. Ah, off
the back fellas big links off. I'm cous hanging out
with you. We got the whole crew having some fun.
Good to do that. You can add a little bit

(01:17:13):
talking about our pain and our joy. And we're live
from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call Farmers
Today for a quote. Let me get my man fill
up here. Phil, you're all with the fellas. Good morning,
my friend. What's going on? Buddy? I want to throw
my three years out if you're all right with that

(01:17:34):
to begin with. I love coming with triple yos. These
are three absolute places you need to eat if you're
in these areas. If you're up in Boston, you want
to head out to Watertown and go to Donohues, grab
some wings in a nice craft bear. If you're in Philly,
you want to head over to our good steaks. And
if you don't know what to order there that don't
go there and doesn't get yourself a nice dal Thomas John,

(01:18:00):
how do you know about all argued steaks? That's in
my neighborhood. I was stationed in the shipyard when I
was in the Marine Corps years and years and years ago.
You rea at the navy yard. I was, well, I'm
from that area called South Philly. Absolutely, it's classic. My brother,

(01:18:21):
that's class. Great. Yos, give me your sports pain, my brother,
My sports pain is is twenty years of greatness. So
the man that the greatest competitor ever dawned the uniform
on a football field was ripped from my My team
just let walk away. I spent twenty years raising four
teenage boys. Every Sunday, Monday Thursday, both four boys and

(01:18:44):
I were in front of a TV bond and watching,
enjoying our championships, and it just got ripped away from
me all in a matter of three months. I love you.
First of all, thank you for your service, my brother.
Second of all, you're a dad man. That's awesome, and
you're right. Brady should never have left. It's disgraceful that

(01:19:08):
he left. Brady and Tampa doesn't work. Phil, no way.
I love that music you're playing because he had the
great Boston. That was it, that was him. It's an
audition for any color I I hear, if I hear
any kind of Massachusetts and you I I have to
play the first two bars from Shipping up to Boston. No,

(01:19:30):
it's the best there really is is that. It's amazing
how that's anonymous. That's a great call. I love that.
Let me get to my man Corey in the A
t L. Core you're on with the fellas, Hey, what's
going on? Seller's. First of all, I wanted to just
thank you guys for having the show for all these years.

(01:19:50):
I had to call in because I know you all
never take calls like then, and I just wanted to
give you all a shout out. But all did you
do for the guys like me who wake up early
on Saturdays and Big Link where you act? You know,
we appreciate you, Figgy Bo, Psycho Chris, especially you because
and I kind of wanted to get a national opinion

(01:20:12):
on the A t L teams. I mean, I think
we've been doing a lot of choking lately. I mean
choking three choking the Dodges. My man Bo talking about
the Dodges. You didn't you didn't win to check you too?
Without a t L choking, we choke. We lost. We

(01:20:33):
had it. We had it, man, but then we started
a reserve picture and in a crucial game because you
know we we we're just doing stupidness. We we lost that, man.
And the other thing is you got a history of
it like I feel your pain because of what happened

(01:20:55):
all those years with the Braves, Like you can't win
all those all those divisions. And only because I go back, look,
because I go back to when we lost to the
Twins in it started for me with the Braves. So
I don't mean that's why I'm so much playing with
the A T M. I don't even have to mention it,
but I gotta run. I love you, Cory, I love

(01:21:16):
you brother. I feel your pain. Core You're the best.
Were the fellas well. A good good good morning to
everyone across the nation. It is eight am in the East,
five am in the West, and it's the Sports Saturday
with the Fellas. I'm Anthony Gargano and the Big Man,

(01:21:38):
the Big Link. The Great Radar is off today, Fellas
powered by Farmers Insurance. We are live from the Farmers
Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight eight
Farmers to switch. You can say big on your auto insurance.

(01:21:59):
It really is the best thing you can do with
your phone in just a few minutes. Just call one
eight eight eight Farmers and start saving today. We are
if you just joined us, we're having some fun today.
Normally we don't take a lot of calls. Um, you know,

(01:22:20):
usually go over the recap and and link and I
chatted up with our guys Psycho Chris and and Figgy.
Brian is in today for Figgy doing a great job.
Bo our producer of course, Bully Bow Bow, the bully.
Uh that we've learned, the mild mannered Bow trying to
bully our man, Brian Man. Let's getting ugly there. Uh.

(01:22:44):
We we're having fun talking about pain, joy and pain,
but mostly pain. I gave you my start because of
the Wentz lament in Philadelphia, how Carson Wentz the tale
of a franchise quarterback, hopes that he would become the
best quarterback in franchise history. Well that was Doust. He

(01:23:08):
never really approached Donovan McNabb status, nor my favorite Randa Conningham.
And he wound up being traded for pennies on the dollar.
And I think he's gonna have a great, great rebound,
a great second half of his career in Indianapolis with
Frank Reich. So all of that. We're kind of bonding

(01:23:30):
over the pain of fandom because that's what really kind
of makes it go around, the joy and the pain.
And I have to address. It's a shame because I
want a little bit more time with our last color,
Corey from the A t L. So, first of all, Corey,
I'm talking directly to you, and I want to thank

(01:23:52):
you first for you know, hanging with us every Saturday morning,
and the second for hanging in there as being a
great A t L fan. Because Corey's point was that
Atlanta he knows pain, and he's right the Braves and

(01:24:15):
that and that Braves he was good and if you're
a Braves fan, and he said he went back to
one against the Twins and the Mark lenty years, all right,
Like I know what he's talking about. And in all
those division titles, all that great pitching, Smelts and Glavin
and Maddox and whether it's Avery or whoever. I mean,

(01:24:37):
that was an incredible run, but it yielded only one parade.
And then you go further and you look at Atlanta,
and you look at the Falcons right, and you look
at three and and and that's you want to talk
about a kick and a junk. Oh, my lord, that's

(01:24:57):
a kick and a junk. I think someone else in
another network has I've I've heard him bringing up before
multiple times in regards to the Falcons too. But in
the nineties when you had the Walter Payton Man of
the Year in Eugene Robinson, the night before the Super Bowl,
he gets popped on a prostitution charge. Yeah, man, that's
the dirty Birds too, Like they had a great defense,

(01:25:22):
sad man, completely sad, just lay an egg in the
biggest game without Eugene Robinson. Yeah. Yeah, that's terrible, man,
absolutely terrible. And then so you think about it and
you look at the Hawks, like you get some talent,
but you can never really get there. So I feel

(01:25:44):
Corey's pain in Atlanta. That's real pain. So in addition
to your pain and your joy, if you want to
give us that moment, I give you on bridal Joy.
This wants really fandom, but it's incredible sports joy. And

(01:26:05):
it's off my little guy, Massimo, who loves baseball and
he's one of his little travel team on and then
he had practice for the first time last week. He
was indoor obviously because we're in the throes of winter,
and uh, he got his uniform and my man, we
got home and the kid. Now, anybody's got a kid

(01:26:28):
can relate to this, right You can relate to your
own childhood. You don't even need to have a kid,
go back to your own little little league time. And
my man gets his uniform. He comes home right away,
gets changing the uniform, the whole thing. Dyeda Mike right
like absolutely dyed a big smile, right, he got the
name Guardano on the bat. He's so proud. He's pet cocking. Daddy,

(01:26:54):
look at this, Daddy, look at this. It looks fantastic.
And I'm over the moon, right because I got my
little man and he's in love with baseball, and we
spend I can't tell you how many days like we'd
be out there today if it's not for the snow
where Danny kay pitts to you that he would go
to the cage and it's, uh, it's just a blast, right, Like,

(01:27:15):
I love it. I could be out there. I'm a
little kid, I'm a big kid, and I could go
out and play with him all the time. So in fact,
I played with him more than my oldest son, who's
not the biggest sports kid, My my little Anthony. But
it's funny. I got this incredible joy from it. And
so I asked you about your sports joy where you

(01:27:37):
could actually look at sports, whether it's fandom or or
you name it, through the eyes of a would be
seven year old, eight year old with the big salcer eyes.
And then that pain and yours and Philly, we call
a shout out a yeo, so we go I and

(01:28:00):
you give a yo out to your favorite eatery bar restaurant.
You never know when we're at the travels like my my,
my one man from Boston gave us three ohs, right, like,
you never know, we're one of us may wind up
in search of a good meal or or a friendly face.

(01:28:23):
And he he brought up Chris how about my man
said it sounded good you come in. It was donna use,
I think because you get some wings and a point.
I was like, I'm down with that man. Yeah. Man.
He also brought up a place in my back literally

(01:28:43):
in my backyard called Our Good Steaks, which is a
chef steak joint. And it's classic because you know, I
mean literally it's my neighborhood. That my old neighborhood. Um
just fabulous. Anyway, that's our deal today with the big
man off for this kind of we were exchanging our

(01:29:05):
our ideas and our love and and bonding over that
eight seven seven nine nine six six three six nine
is how you join us. Eight seven seven nine nine
six six three six nine, It's how you joined. Sorry,
let's uh, let's get on the lines and uh, I
want to go to Kevin in l A. keV, you're

(01:29:27):
on with the fellas. Good morning God. How about I
just want to speak to that Dodger hater that was
just speaking on It should be an asterisk by the Dodgers.
You know, their teams like the Atlanta Braves that would
love to have that championship. You know, when you get
the further down the line, you don't ask Hollywood one.
All you gonna see is the world champion. You okay?

(01:29:51):
Nov sixty games, brother, world champions. All you haters out there,
I'm all you can't. I went up to tell your
team is well, I don't know. The guy that was
speaking earlier, well, he's a fan that explains everything. But

(01:30:11):
I gotta say it's an impartial onlooker. You gotta admit
he's still sixty gamer, right. I mean, listen, it's you
should celebrate, but only sixty games something, right, keV? You
know I've always been beating up on him. My man.

(01:30:32):
But and do you hear what I'm saying, keV that
you gotta understand that have everything to do with it.
It's about uh years of every time they get a
little squad over there, what we do we stoke? Now
we got we got Mookie beth Man. That's a bad bood. Hey, Kevin,

(01:30:54):
ask you one question before we roll. Are you a
Laker man? No doubt, don't get me on that, but
go ahead, all right, So I gotta ask you because
I'm a sixer man, right, uh huh m v P.
No'll be real with me, keeping antist, all right, go ahead,
Lebron or embid the dude out of Philadelphia. Let listen,

(01:31:25):
you gotta Lebron have been doing it for a long time.
I'm about this season though at VPS. Just one year. No, no, okay,
it's gonna take a little bit more, you know. Joe,
I mean, you know what his history is. He's a
big man. He's he's the only big man dominating the
best big man in the game. He's the only big
man he should be. Well joker, I'll give here, yeah, okay,

(01:31:50):
but I never could play, but I have respect for
the seven six. You know what our history is, but
I have to get you on this. I got respect
for the Lakers. So we meet and I shake your
hands in half court. That you keV, Hey, keV, Yeah,
this is Brian here. I just want you to know
you played and started to interrupting, but you played into

(01:32:10):
the whole thing I brought up, and that is Dodger
fans are now triggered by Padre fans. Dodger fans used
to look at Padre fans and and roll their eyes
and ignore them and pretend like they don't even exist.
But the fact that I have you a little fired
up means that the Padres are doing something right. That's
all I wanted to say. Okay, you want real quick.

(01:32:31):
That's act. You know when you listen, it's not about
being fired up. It's just that you wrap up to
speak on It's just the fact that when we have
somebody who's get beating up all these years, and you say,
it's like you get the worst from the lowest of
the lower. Do you understand what I'm playing, keV? See, Bunny,

(01:32:54):
that's class like I got a love of dodging Padre.
Oh that' stice Ryan. You're taking everybody body, man, I'm
taking it. Bow is quiet, Bully Bow. If if the
Phillies had won the World Series or like even made
the playoffs, would you still be on the sixty game thing. Yes,

(01:33:16):
I gotta keep it real. That come. That's interesting. Baseball's baseball. Listen.
I might say it's not an accomplishment. I'm not saying
it's it's not completely. I'm not saying it's false. I'm
just saying it's in Boga's territory. It's funny because I
put way more stock in like in that World Series
than I do in the NBA title, given the season

(01:33:38):
that has now followed the NBA title, If that makes sense. Yeah,
But here's the problem with that thought is that they
actually played a season, most of the season right like
you played it, and it we took to me way

(01:33:59):
more gumption to win the bubble, the Bubble title. I mean,
I mean, my god, I mean I give the Lakers
all kinds of credit for that, like Lebron being stuck
in that bubble for three months and and you know, listen, yeah,
did they have creature comforts, without a doubt, but that

(01:34:19):
was impressive. Yeah. I don't know, I just I the
baseball thing. The more playoff games than anybody's ever played,
the lack of fans for most of it, the no,
uh ballpark. That Texas Stadium is garbage. That's one of

(01:34:40):
the worst stadiums I've ever seen. And I know you
love I know you love your blue and I will
say this with you for you. They were the one
thing I don't have a doubt about is that they
were the best team. All right, That make you feel better? No, No,

(01:35:03):
I don't feel bad. I just I just want to
understand the thing I don't. Baseball aren't sixty two games.
You're lopping off a hundred games. That's a big deal.
You got him in a sore spot there. I just don't.
I just don't care. It's the sixty games you care.
You're cutting off like a bunch of games that would

(01:35:26):
have been started by guys they were playing double seven,
any doubleheaders you're running out. It's The playoff format alone
was weird because there was no travel days for the
most part for the early rounds. It was just it
was different. It was bogus. Now again, that doesn't mean
the Dodgers didn't a compass anything and they weren't the

(01:35:49):
best team. But if you can't figure out why sixty
games is bogus. I don't know. You're thinking you're supposed
to be baseball man, I don't know. I just remember
everybody celebrating the same thing would if it was a
hundred and six, a two games season. Every every celebrate.

(01:36:09):
I'm not telling you it's I'm tweaking. I'm half tweaking you.
But you know, brother, all right, we gotta take a
quick til we'll come back. And I want to feel
all your calls. I love it. That's right. We got
a couple open the lines if you want to grab
him eight seven, seven, six, three six nines. How you
reach us? Where the fellows? Big link off? Cause hanging

(01:36:31):
right here on Fox Sports Radio. Welcome back, fat, Let's
hanging out. It was fun, Like I had a lot
of fun this morning, enjoying it, enjoying the conversation. It's

(01:36:52):
the beauty of Fox Sports Radio is the by play
and the good conversation that you guys bring. We're not
gonna do the four this morning. I want to continue
with our conversations because I'm I'm fine. I love it.
I love talking to people around the country, and I
love the culture part of it, and Uh. I love it,

(01:37:13):
the the conversation about pain and I think it's a
great bonding thing. Don't forget we're live from the Farmers
Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight eight
Farmers to switch and you can save a bundle on
your auto insurance. All right, let's get back to the

(01:37:37):
phone lines. Talk to our friends. Look at this, my
man Freddie in South Carolina. What do you say? Gave
me a mino? What's happen? R mono? The family got
me on watch the one swagon going to Indianapolis. I

(01:37:58):
am depressed because I can't. I can't. I'm so sad
right now. You want to talk about pain kid? Uh?
And that kid was best quarterback in the history of
the franchise and we'll never know. And had he had
a real receiver to throw too, and maybe some better

(01:38:19):
coaching and better drafting around him, had he could have
could he have reached at least Donovan levels? What's unbelievable
because you noticed, because we we talked thirteen different iterations
of the of the offensive line last year, no real
running game because the coach didn't stick to it. But

(01:38:39):
it's the kid's fault and the coaches gone, and the
kid's gone in the general managers still there because this
is our story, This is our story, and you talk
about the pain like I still remember three if I
have to hear Joe Carter one more time about how
he launched that home run. Also Mitch Williams good lord,
or Michael Layton looking down between his legs. Oh was

(01:39:00):
that a goal? Oh did we lose the Stanley Cup?
Oh my gosh? Or you know, I Everson goes out
one game one in l A and then gets the
next four, gets swept. So you know, the pain is horrible.
But but the good I mean, was there ever a
better parade than a few years ago, three years ago
with Chelsea standing there in a Mummer's outfit just laying

(01:39:22):
everything out that has ever happened to Philadelphia fans? Or
n O eight when you were broadcasting from that parade,
and I was in Denver weeping because because that's the
parade that I should have been at, you know, or
A three with Doc. You know, when they cook care
of business unbelievable, It's it's just amazing. And you know,

(01:39:43):
we we know pain, we know passion, we know love
because we loved sports and just for our l A fans. Yes,
they celebrated like they usually do. Uh for a parade.
They showed up late. They you know, they got they
left early and they all had lot taste and turn
their cameras off. So there's your parade right there in
l A. So that's not right, Freddy, It's not right, Freddy.

(01:40:08):
I love your buddy, be'st to the family, my man
as always. Thank you, brother, I appreciate that. I know
a bow that goes right up. Boeg, what do you mean,
no fuga fans here, right? Bo I mean, I can't

(01:40:28):
control what other people think of Los Angeles fans, and
I have to be careful when, you know, talking to
Philly fans because I don't want to get a battery
to the face. So that's a cheap shot, man, Come on, brother,
So what was Latte's then? Well, I was a cheap
shot too, I said that, so I was listening. I

(01:40:49):
was equal. I think I said, that's a cheap shot Latte.
You know, do they not have coffee in South Carolina
and or Philadelphia? Yeah? We have very good fee. Yeah. Yeah.
In fact, I'm a big fan of the Latte. I
go extra I go extra shots of espresso quite frankly. Oh,

(01:41:12):
let's go to Pat, also in South Carolina. You know,
hello Pat, Morning, gentlemen, good morning, my friend. Morning. Two
quick stories about my bills. But but first of all,
as a self proclaimed biggest San Francisco Giant fan east
of the Mississippi, the Dodgers got a World Series. It counts,

(01:41:34):
it's done, no discussion. We're still ahead of them eight
to seven. That's what we're looking at. Totals. It's one
of them. It's one of them. I hated that they
want it and you gotta they got it. I heard
Giants fan and I almost dropped him, but then he
finished a sentence, so he uh, that's priceless. By the way,

(01:41:57):
say one thing about your bills. You a great coach
in Sean McDermott. He and and he's the real deal. Man.
I'm very I know him, very dear friend, and he
is he's terrific. My man. Great, Yeah he should have. Yeah.
So two quick ones. The first one, I was at
the Music City Miracle game and after we after we

(01:42:20):
kicked a field goal to take the lead, I got
my bills, garbon. I'm in the opposing stadiums. I want
to be nice, right, So I walk up to the
top of the steps right by the exit. So after
we kick off the games over, I can walk out
and not rub it in the fans of all the
Tennessee fans. But of course they get returned the kick
and Usher just turned in my face screaming he was horrendous.

(01:42:45):
But but this story actually at that game? What was
worse that game? Or why? I mean, why write different?
Because super Bowl? But go ahead, I want to tell
you what was worse the four Super Bowl. For half
Thomas fumbles, I call him obumam. At this small party,
another Bills fan says he in a bum. A little

(01:43:05):
while there he gets a touch on he goes, I see,
I told you I wasn't a bump. So it's thirteen
and six. At halftime, I walked down the street by
myself and I'm talking to God and I said, God,
I know you have nothing to do with Super Bowls,
but if you can see your football, I said, but
if you can see the help us here, I said,
I take I'll take the So I go back in
and Thomas fumbles on the opening drive. They kick it up,

(01:43:29):
they run it in. I lose it. I lose it.
I go, you see, I told he's a f and bummer.
I told you. And there's this girl at the party
and she looks at me and she goes, what are
you doing getting so upset? It's only a football game. God,
that was the worst moment I've ever had in sports. Hit.

(01:43:50):
She just did not understand the worst thing. That's why
you can't watch a Super Bowl with like straight. Angers
are being out if it's your team. You know, I
d great fans, man, you are great fans. And you

(01:44:11):
guys know pain, I mean deep extruciating pain, your dads,
your buddy there. He made a wise comment. Hey we're
up eight seven pound, We're up eight seven. We got
more winds than you had. We're the better team. I
love it. Oh, brother, great talking to you, Pat, Pat,

(01:44:33):
the Bills fan. The beauty is you got a great quarterback,
you got a great coach. You've got a great future.
Although the a f C his nasty man, because Chiefs
will be back. Colts are going to be good, and
then the Bills. I do love where they're at. The

(01:44:55):
Chargers are going to be good. Brian, how do you
view the Chargers? Well, that's an interesting scenario because I
considered myself an NFL fan free agent. When they bolted
from San Diego being a San Diegan to l A.
I guess I sort of side with them. I enjoy
Justin Herbert and I used to cover one of your team.

(01:45:17):
I don't know how it's so hard for you because
it's like you're so close and that you're in l A.
I don't know how you can abandon them. Well, they
abandoned San Diego in a way because they like so
I mean, I I still like the team, but it's
still there's a pain that you can't avoid as a

(01:45:37):
San Diegan and how and they don't even yeah, I
mean it's they're renting up in l A. They don't
have their own plays, and it's just it's so frustrating.
And for so many years San Diego could never get
a deal on a new stadium and they played in
that piece of concrete qual Calm and I think they're

(01:45:57):
bulldozing it over right now. But Man Place was just
a pigsty. Yeah, yeah, no, I feel your pain man now,
for sure. I mean when you think about it, what
the fact that they abandoned that city and and to
and it's tough too because you're going, you're so close,

(01:46:20):
but you're not. But they leave you. And when we do,
they're good, by the way, they are good. And when
they do get clearance to get full fans, full capacity
into so FI, I'm just concerned, Anthony, that are they
gonna be able to to fill it or or get

(01:46:43):
I think they're gonna have an issue with ticket sales
for the Chargers because they're not the number one showing town.
They're not the second, they're not the third. Maybe they're
the fourth or the fifth, but they're way down the
pecking order, you know, Dodgers and Lakers and then Rams
and all that stuff before. And I mean, and the
Rams are gonna be really good. Yeah, yeah, all right here,
what's from tra baby? Yeah, the Clippers are gonna be

(01:47:05):
pretty good too. As we run back the action in
the NBA from last night, as they rinsed down the
Jazz one sixteen, one twelve, vanishing a utah nine game
winning streak, Kwi Leonard and Paul George returning from injuries,
and Leonard had twenty nine points, George Chad fifteen. The
Sun's cracked down on the Pelicans one fourteen. New Orleans

(01:47:27):
came into the fourth quarter with an eleven point lead,
and they lost by eighteen points. The Bucks vaporized the
thunder eighty five honest onto the Koumpo twenty nine points,
a season high, nineteen rebounds and eight assists. The seventies
sixers slashed the Bulls one twelve, one oh five, Dwell
and bead putting up fifty points and after the game

(01:47:48):
and be kept a humble saying quote, the only difference
from this year and last year is about me being
willing to dominate every single moment I'm on the floor
on defense and on offense. Yeah. Yeah, not a confident,
not a not a humble bone in that statement at all.
Jamal Murray had fifty points as well, becomes the first

(01:48:10):
player in NBA history to reach fifty without attempting a
single free throw as the Nuggets slaughter the Calves one

Thrills again with her second Assie Open. She also has
to us open titles for total for the twenty three
year old. Back to our guy the Fellas, Aunt Gargano,

(01:48:52):
thank you, my brother, appreciate it. Bra. Yes we are
the Fellas Sam Anthony Gargano in Big Link. He's all today,
He's hanging you know, a little much needed R and
R Fellas, of course, Live from the Farmers Insurance Fox
Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight eight Farmers. You

(01:49:13):
can save a whole lot of something on auto Insurance.
Got Psycho Chris and the Bow the Bully with us today,
The Dodger Bully. How about it, Psycho Chris? How about
have you ever seen bout like this before? All the time? No, no, no, no,
all the time, all the time, because I followed him

(01:49:35):
a mild mannered only only again as long as this
topic does not come up Dodgers or Lakers. As soon
as it does, like a switch flips in his head,
and I've seen it because again I follow him either way.
Battery like, what are you gonna fight with Philip and
the batteries? Gonna do for a batteries? At you charge

(01:49:57):
him up? He's ready to go? Yeah, how bad you,
I come to uh, I know that that's why you
are psychoed Chris, But man, I just don't have mile
mannered bow. I just don't have a switch like that,
like you can say whatever. I put peel back the curtain.
About a month ago, I had a like half the
Colts fans on the internet mad at me because of

(01:50:19):
something I wrote for prior to Detroit blog, where I
do some Lions writing. I was evaluating the landings potential
landing spots for where Stafford could go, and I just
put just a personal note in there. I'm like, I
don't like the idea of Stafford going to the Colts
because I think historically the Colts have been a place
where quarterbacks have been massive Where have they have They

(01:50:42):
haven't massively underachieved, but they've failed to achieve with those quarterbacks.
I don't think you can say not say that about
a place who had two generational talents at quarterback and
only one Super Bowl. And I just I wanted to
see Stafford to go somewhere else, and obviously did he
went to Los Angeles. But this got Cold fans so
mad that one of them, who was actually writing for

(01:51:02):
another eSPI Nation blog, threatened to report me two people
higher up at eSPI Nation to try to get me
fired because I was being unprofessional. In his words, yeah
you gotta a I don't know if I agree with you,
but be I salute you for you know, call it

(01:51:26):
the way you think, you know, you state in your opinion.
That's what it's about. Fired. I mean, that's that's the
what is wrong with people. That's the antithesis of what
you're thought provoking content is supposed to be. Well, I'm
not about being put but I do think you're wrong.
I mean, I don't know, I'm probably wrong, but I

(01:51:46):
pay Manning bart Star, I don't know. I mean, I
just but I just put it at the top and
said John Johnny, And you know, I just I put
it at the top and said, look, I'm gonna be
unprofessional about this. This is just my way about professionals
about being wrong. I mean, I'm an un analytical I
just yeah, I wasn't really thinking much. I have these

(01:52:07):
weird ticks where I just don't like a team sometimes
and sometimes it just sticks in my crawl like that,
and I just kind of expressed it. That's violation on you,
But that's all right. Yeah, that's fine, but no problem.
Let's go to uh Mitch in Ohio. Mitchell, good morning,
my friends, family. Yeah, well, I just want to say,

(01:52:29):
you know, I'm a Cowboys fan, big time Cowboys fan,
and I love my my Bengals and Browns and my Reds.
You talk about pain, I know nothing about. I know
nothing but pain and uh. You know, like from the
Tony Romo fumble and the kickoff snap or Davis Bryant
no catch and uh, or the Siller's taking out Palmer's knee,

(01:52:51):
or or the Reds getting no hit by your Phillies
of the playoffs and remember that one. Brother. Yeah, but
now did you see that I got I have only
one question. I got one question for you, because you
obviously know your pain and the Bengal pain is tough pain, man,

(01:53:12):
that's that's extruciating pain. But where does the Cowboys come in?
How do you how do you like the Bengals and
the Cowboys? Well, at least they very rarely face each other.
They ever faced each other in the Super Bowl. I
have a hard time how do you have one of them?
Bengals and Browns is what kind of confuses me more.

(01:53:34):
Those are division rivals and you don't know, but I
guess I'm I guess. I'm talking more about the the
idea of the multiple teams. That's a tough one. The
multiple teams. You're like a you're like a polygamist in football.
That's the classic your But if I had to boil

(01:53:55):
it down for you, right and this will, this will
tell me your true fans them, my brother, give me
the greatest pain you ever experienced in football, Just one
in football that hurt you the deepest, that cut you

(01:54:16):
to the core. That's hard to say because I got
the first thing that comes your head, come on, probably
the palmernee. Yes, that makes you a true blue Bengal man.
I respect that. Yeah, that's tough. Yeah, the worst saying that,

(01:54:38):
the worst saying that recently though, at I want to
get your opinion on this. If how does a referee
see a fumble within like one foot line there, but
you don't see a helmet a helmet hit that calls
usaid fumble. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about.
And that Brown's game. If they score that touchdown right there,

(01:55:01):
even if they get that penalty and keep that ball
and they score the touchdown, they win that game. Yeah,
you're probably right. Now, you're probably right, and you're right
on you miss. That's an obvious helmet. The helmet. That's
a tough one, brother, Ellie, great stuff, my friend, Thank
you for hanging out with us. Yeah, that was tough,

(01:55:24):
and I agree with him. They probably do win that
game against Kansas City and that was helmet the helmet,
all right, he's how you get us eight seven seven
six three six nine talking pain, not as much joy.

(01:55:46):
And also, don't they slow down on the yo's. Give
me some yos. The yo is the my version of
the shout out. And I want your yo's bar, restaurant, whatever,
your favorite eatery. So this way in might travel someday.

(01:56:08):
If I'm in your city, I'm gonna go hang out
where the Fellas link golf today I'm cause right here.
Fox Sports Radio, all right, welcome back Fellas live from
the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios called Farmers Today.

(01:56:30):
Get a quote, uh, February Day, Saturday is uh. I
can't wait for the tournament. Look forward to the tournament.
That's our next big thing. It's gonna be a really
weird tournament. Not probably not a lot of blue bloods
unless some of them get in through their championships. Crazy man,

(01:56:54):
maybe no, just Kent talkie Duke A. Yeah, man, it's crazy,
it's crazy. Meanwhile, you've got some great, like great little
stories going on with like Drake, right. You know, it's
funny because when if you think about it, the true
power Gonzaga, which was you know, once upon a time,

(01:57:19):
the Cinderella type, right, and now they're they're like the
blue blood. I always feel like the most accomplished. I
always feel like every year they're they're a one seed
and but you know, usually you look at them and
you're like, okay, but how far can they really go?
Gonzaga always seems to fall apart later in the tournament.

(01:57:39):
But again, like none of these heavyweights are going to
be there to stop him. So I'm sorry, I meant
Kansas will be there, but but Kansas will be there. Yeah,
but compared, Yeah, it's crazy, it really is. But you know,
looking at Duke at nine and eight, that's that's amazing.
Baylor has been an unbe levably fascinating story. And you know,

(01:58:02):
in my backyard again Michigan. Michigan has been on the
up and up as a basketball program for a long
for a long time now, they've been in the mix
and they've only had one loss on the season so far.
They're they're gonna be there. They're gonna be a juggerna. Yeah,
big time. They're good. I was, you know what guards
it is ridiculous. But between Iowa Michigan Ohio State, I

(01:58:26):
mean that's that big tans ridiculous. If they have a
big We've got a big game tomorrow, big one tomorrow,
Michigan Ohio State three v. Four. That's a much watch
game for the weekend. Yeah, I'll watch that. I'll definitely.
I'll definitely carve up some time of my overnight schedules
here at Fox Sports Radio and I'll definitely watch that.

(01:58:47):
All right, let's uh, let's get it back to the lines.
Let's go to Nick and Philly. Nick, you're wrong with
the fellas. That was Nikki this morning. Niki, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Because I'm on on the phone now. So it's a

(01:59:10):
slow morning, because it's a comfortable degrees on the East coast,
it's a comfortable morning. Listen, when I hear the word
out model, I think of Narcos or anybody knows that show.
What word did they say? More on that show at
a model or a plata. That's true. I love Yeah,
I think of that as well. I would see a

(01:59:31):
huge Narcos fan. So before I get to my Philly
sports you know, heartbreak, Um, but listen, I'm not going
to try and take anything away from the World Series,
and I just wanted fair and square. Everybody had to
play sixty games, you know, it's I don't want to
diminish that, but when you're playing, you know, thirty eight
percent of the season, you have to at least as

(01:59:53):
a sports guy and a mathematician, you've got to say, hey,
we didn't play n of games or eighty seven per
cent of games. They played thirty eight percent of the season.
So that means something. It does mean something. I don't
know what it means. But everybody had to do that,
So I'm not I'm not trying to take it anyway
from about your points, right bow. I mean, I had

(02:00:14):
my only beef with you is that you completely discount
the sixty game thing. Yeah, I mean that's that's like,
that's a good good you can chime in. I have
no additional thoughts here. I've made I've made my points. Yeah, Well,
I just can I added to your point, which is
actual fact of the season was played a malicious way anyway,

(02:00:41):
my Phillies point. Um, listen the god we have a
soccer team here in the Union in Philadelphia. But when
you hear one bloody nail in Philadelphia, you're not talking
about the Union. You're talking about Doc Holiday giving up
a lawn. And in the best of five series again
to the St. Louis Cardinals in and it was like

(02:01:03):
Chinese water culture. Every inning would go by and yeah,
the only thing gets me through that. And I'll leave
with this note. Stairs rips one into the night. Baby,
I love it. Deacky Niki where the Fellas back? Big
Hour Ahead, don't go anywhere. Well A good morning, good morning,

(02:01:28):
good morning, good morning. Yes, the big man out, today's
relaxing r and are because as we hang out, I
hope you're Saturday morning is going smashing league. It is
uh six am in the west, nine am in the east,
and I hope everybody in between is is it a
good way? I know we've had some difficult weather throughout

(02:01:51):
the entire country over the past week in uh, you know,
our hearts out to Texas and surrounding areas and uh,
wishing you guys well, um lots to do this this hour,
it's our last hour, and I will tell you and
I want to thank you because it's been a lot
of fun. In case you're just tuning in, we've been

(02:02:12):
doing a lot more sharing today among the brethren. We're
all the brethren, the sports fan brethren brethren and having
some fun. The subject is uh twofold, it's pain and
then the flip side, which is the joy I gave
you both of mine. And this is what kind of

(02:02:33):
started the show. And I really wanted to talk to
everyone and get their own stories because the one thing
that we can all relate to, right is we can
relate to each other's pain and sometimes joy. Others have
received more than the rest of us. But it started

(02:02:55):
for me because of Wentz. Carson Wentz now the court
in the Indianapolis called starting quarterback, and uh I did.
I had high, high hope for him. I was a
boyhood Eagle fan, and I grew up in the shadows
a veteran state, even Philadelphia, And when I looked at
when I thought, well, he has a chance to become

(02:03:17):
maybe the first true special quarterback in the franchise. Now
Donovan McNabb was terrific, and uh he reached a certain level.
I was a huge Randall Cunningham fan, but both had
just they just reached they couldn't get to the h
O F level. And I thought, once, you know, who

(02:03:38):
knows if all goes right, he had a shot. Except
it was a disaster. The Eagles wi winn the Super
Bowl three years ago. But once, as you know, was
the backup well it was injured in the backup one,
Nick Foles, and his career in Philadelphia has been just
a disaster. I mean, just to complete and utter off
the cliff disappointment and uh now he's in a happy place.

(02:04:02):
Eagles are left with a dramatic rebuild and it'll be
ugly there for a long time, for at least a while.
And so I did admit that. And so I was
talking about the concept of loss and of pain. And
we've had a lot of people chime in, Man, great

(02:04:24):
stuff today, all kinds of great pain fellas of course,
we come to alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Call one eight eight eight Farmers to switch
and you can save on your auto insurance. What else
are you gonna do? With your phone. For the next
few minutes, I look at pictures of food. Your friends

(02:04:45):
eight again call one eight eight farmers for a quote.
We are farmers, all right. So we've been sharing this
pain and then the joy because I was talking about
my little guy who got his uniform for his little
travel team baseball team. He loves baseball and that to

(02:05:06):
me sends me over the moon. So we've been talking
a lot about the pain. Chris, Psycho Chris with us
as he is every week. He is a Detroit guy.
He knows to share a pain. Bow the bully who
is our fine producer. It doesn't know any pain because

(02:05:27):
he's a well, say, as a sports fan. So he's
got no pain, only joy. Isn't that correct? Bo, No, no, no,
I was gonna say earlier, there's there's plenty of pain. Especially.
I think it's a unique type team. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

(02:05:48):
I just it's a unique type of pain being a
Dodgers fan for a long time because a lot of
these teams, like I mean, not to throw anybody under
the bus or anything, but like the Lions, you don't
have expectations, like you just want to be good. But
every single year you would hear the Dodgers are World
Series favorites, and then every single year, you know, like

(02:06:08):
you'd watch them blow a playoff game and then blow
a playoff series and have to like deal with it
the entire offseason and then come back and have that
hope again and watch them win like a hundred and
seven games. Yeah, that's a different kind of like, it's
a it's a totally different right of of failing to
meet the expectations. That is is painful in itself, especially

(02:06:32):
since you know you weren't were you barely alive? I
was like, no, I wasn't, I wasn't born. Then I
was literally, like, I think two hours old on the
day that they won the World Series. Finally, Yeah, wow,
that's amazing. So think about that for a second. And
then so you grown up a huge Dodger fan, this

(02:06:55):
whole thing, and the culmination of it during the pandemic
titles won by the Dodgers and the Lakers, it's, you know,
it's that's bliss for a guy like Bo. Thanks to
Brian who uh was on our trending will have Ilo
coming up shortly, but Brian had the San Diego pain,

(02:07:15):
which is great pain in itself, but We've heard from
all kinds of people, a lot of Michigan, a t
L Cincinnati, lots of good one, lots of good pain.
We had a great call who said that that Brady,
losing Brady was was the most Now think about that
for a second. He had all those titles, and my

(02:07:38):
man was upset at losing Brady. I don't know if
that's having a loaf of bread and on the one hand,
on the one arm, and crying hungry because you don't
have any ham on the other. I mean having that career,
being able to witness that career is an amazing thing.
But again, pain is all relative sports paint. Let's get

(02:08:02):
it back to the lines, because I'm enjoying our conversation,
and don't forget when you call today. I want to
YO and my version of the YO, because we care
about small business and it's been really difficult over the
last year for a lot, a lot of restaurants and bars,
a lot of eateries that have really struggled during the pandemic.

(02:08:24):
So give your favorite one a YO. And if one
of us finds ourselves at that establishment, what should we order?
Go to Isaac in Cincinnati. No Isaac who we got
Mark Buffalo Marquis. You're wrong with the Fellas going on? Gentlemen?
Are you doing brother? I'm doing very well. Is my

(02:08:47):
genuine pleasure to be on the air with you, guys.
Thank you. Well. I need to tell you about a
little Italian eater read down in western New York on
the corner of Niagara and Lasayette. Santa Seios, the best
eggplant parmesan in town. You gotta go there. I love
it one more time, Santa s Sanitary. What is it?

(02:09:08):
Santa Stereos, Santa Sarios? I love it to Santa Sario.
I love it all right, So we gotta talk sports here.
I'm gonna talk Buffalo Bills football with here. There's a
lot of pain there. You, my friend, have dealt with
your share for sure. Yeah. But what I picked the

(02:09:29):
low hanging fruit. I mean, we go after Norwood, you
go after the Super Bowl office. I want to take
you back to playoffs game. Well, hey, we started going three,
but we made the playoffs on the arm of Doug
Flutie and thanks to our owner, we started Rob Johnson
in the playoff game against Tennessee Titans. Again, we deserve

(02:09:50):
to win, but hey, whos our now. My fandom comes
directly from my mom. She's a safe she's just the
best person in the world, never said a bad word
about anybody and her entire life. She's just uss. But
these guys start running that kickoff BacT on us and

(02:10:11):
let me tell you, Oh boy, she unleash the seventh
circle of how it was you mother jerk had Hey halls,
you church jerks, kirks, mother effort that and I for
two minutes, I'm staring wide eyed at this lady I
thought was an angel, and uh, you know what, there's

(02:10:34):
a lot of pain in the loss, but I gained
the memory. I don't know if I trade it. Ah,
that's fabulous. Oh man, what a way to describe the
Music City miracle. My god, you're now Here's a good thing. Mark?
Is that I believe all the pain and you've had
a great, great share of pain. We'll get remedied by

(02:10:56):
Sean McDermott. Brother. Oh, it's all culture, Bay, it is
all culture. He's changed winners now and it feels it
feels great. I'd ask Chris, but I don't know. I
don't know if you know, Mark, great call, buddy, You're fantastic.
I love how you described Mom. I did I love
it describing mob It's this wonderfully angel that brought you

(02:11:20):
into the world, and yet she turns into a monster
at the Music City Miracle. You gotta admit, Chris, I
know you've you've endured your share of disappointment, and you
bring up constantly the flag to pick up flag, which
you were right on against the Cowboys, but losing on

(02:11:44):
the Music City Miracle. He's one of the worst things ever. Yeah,
I mean, Lions fans are obviously no strangers to things
like balls being batted out the end zone and things
that should have been called. But Music City Miracle. When
when you get to out put a name to a
play like you know that in in Philadelphia, you know,
you get to know that forever as the Philly Special, right,

(02:12:08):
and but they have to know it as the Music
City Miracle and that they're on the wrong side of it.
Whereas you know by by comparison, Lions, remember when I
say the Calvin Johnson catch rule before before before Dez
caught it. The thing there, it was all about Calvin Johnson.
But you know, it's different, different ways we call things.

(02:12:32):
We call a play by its victory, we call a
play knowing we're on the losing end of it, or
we call a play because it's just you know, all
all rancidness. Yes, so rancidness is a good word. Excellent word.
All right, here's the deal. We're gonna come back. And

(02:12:54):
I'm sorry, Isaac, we were the mistake. I know you're there.
We're gonna get you first. Coming up. We got Derek
in the York, we got Tom in Iowa. I want
Nathan back, who was in Green Bay. I'm curious about
your pain, and then you can reach us and and
tell us all about it. Eight seven seven nine six

(02:13:14):
six three six nine. Is how you doing? Eight seven
seven nine six three six nine share your pain? Throw
out of you O hang out with the fellas um
because the rest of the crew Chris bow Ill right
here on Fox Sports Radio Fallas Big link off today.

(02:13:45):
We're hanging out having a lot of fun. And uh
we come the alive from the Farmers Insurance. Fox Sports
Radio Studios called one eight eight eight Farmers to switch.
You can save a bundle on your auto and insurance,
you know, one of the things real quick, and then
we're gonna get back to the lines. You don't want
to talk to our friends. But one of the things

(02:14:06):
that has come out in this weird season of unrest
at the quarterback position is that there's like a lack
of communication that's widespread across across the league. I just
don't understand it, so Wentz. It was widely reported Wentz
and Doug Peterson, the coach who was now fired with

(02:14:27):
the Eagles, didn't speak for eight to ten weeks. I
didn't talk. Now, maybe it was exaggerate a little bit,
but that was widely reported by a number of insiders
that they did not speak. Now, I just don't understand
this concept. Peterson also was the offensive coordinator for that team.

(02:14:52):
I look at Houston and like, nobody talks to DeShawn Watson.
They talked him through the media. Now, what I don't
get is, all right, when you have a period of
time where you know the guy's unhappy or whatever it is,
how come you're not knocking on his door with with
like a with like a fruit basket, you know what

(02:15:15):
I'm saying, or a pizza and a case of beer. Like,
I mean, I don't understand it. How can that be?
How could you run a franchise, any franchise have a
player who's unhappy. I'm not saying you gotta cow tail
to him, but you gotta talk to him how he's

(02:15:39):
looking at Like this the organization that coach, GM front office,
you're the parents, the players, the child right like in
the relationship, younger probably more prone to you know, emotional
roller coaster type of things. Ever it is, you gotta

(02:16:02):
you gotta speak. How do you look the guy just
go and not talk to him. It's that's my bottling
to me, Casey fill up is ridiculous. The guy was
the offenseive. Of course, the old say you don't talk
to your quarterback, it's insane. But even Houston like and
every time you see that there's you know, disgruntled guy.

(02:16:24):
How come there's just a break of communication. Chris, don't
you go over with with you know, a six pack
of your hand and the pizza. Hey, let's talk about
this guy's Yeah, buddy, you know this whole, this whole
thing where guys just started talking. I just I can't
respect him when parties can't find a way to communicate,

(02:16:46):
Like it's just it's just so it's so high school,
you know, it's like you guys are grown men. How
are you not able to talk with each other just
to resolve this, get this figured out. Just come on.
It's it's it's old John Gruden line when he's like
talking to Antonio Brown. I truly believe, was like, come on, man,
let's just play football. It's like, yeah, come on, let's

(02:17:08):
just let's get this figured out. I'm I'm a I
am a object oriented person. I am an objective oriented person.
Like you know, I deal with so many people sometimes
where it's just like, come on, let's just we we
have a problem in front of us. Let's just hammer
this out and just get it done and we can
figure out all the worries afterwards. And just it felt

(02:17:29):
like someone at some point on either side of this
should have just said, like, come on, let's just let's
just hammer this out. Let's just play football exactly exactly.
Get you love the slice, let me cool, I have
a conversation. It's crazy. I'm sorry. I just like that

(02:17:51):
concept drives me insane, Like how we could be in
business and have a lack of communication and you're the
you're the front. Like if I'm the owner, I go anybody,
could you know coach or GM When times are good,
when you have harmony. That's why it's part of your job.

(02:18:13):
All right, let me get to Isaac. Thanks Isaac, thanks
for hanging my brother, appreciate it. Where's the big I
at here? He is? What's happening? Brother? Not gonna te
are you guys? Thanks for calling? Basically calling from the
land of misery, Cincinnattie. That's for our sports gives. Um.

(02:18:39):
But oh yeah, if your guys are over here, I'd
recommend Skyline Chili. I had it. It's fabulous. It is
back in the day I was. I was a baseball
writer and I made my way back when it was
the old. Actually, I was there for the first the
opening of the Great American Bulb Area, and then I

(02:19:02):
dragged many beers along the River Kentucky. Yes, great stuff. Yeah,
I heard the different Cincinnati guy called earlier. But I
got two honorable mentions here. Um. The two thousand twelve
Reds when they played the Giants and the n LDS

(02:19:22):
went to San Francisco, whooped them out there, came home
and lost three straight home games. That's right, that's right.
Oh my god, I forgot about I forgot all about
that series. Oh that's horrible. And then the two thousand
and eighteen Cincinnati Bearcats and the tournament two point lead,
final time minutes versus Nevada. Also terrible. Oh man, oh

(02:19:46):
my god, Oh my god. Who's the coach that year? Uh?
Mick Cronin. Yeah, wow, Oh that's gonna be killing. Is
the two thousands fifteen Bengal Steelings wild card game. Uh,
meltdown at Paul Brown, Oh my god, perfect, going nuts,

(02:20:09):
oh the person of Oh my god, that was horrible.
I remember watching that game film for you, and they're
blocking off penalty yards, you know, like it like it was,
you know, trip at miles. Oh my god. Yeah, there's
two points I want to make about that game, and
then I hop off and maybe get some feedback. But

(02:20:31):
first made that interception. It was around like that, right
outside the red zone. Minute seven or so left, Steelers
still all three time outs and rain was pouring. Jeremy
Hill running back at the time was like formal prone.
I don't know why Marvin Lewis didn't just kneel it
three times attempt the field goal. But anyways, that's not

(02:20:54):
what my god, you're talking about it. And the games
coming back that game too, that's why I oh, that's
brutal brother, and then number two would be right before
it set up. The Steelers of feel Able to Win
Perfect got called for sportsman life for hitting Antonio Brown,

(02:21:15):
and then Pacman Jones got for a non sportsman like
for arguing with Steelers coach Joey Porter. But I've never
seen the refs combine two penalties like that and do
like a thirty yard penalty. I've never seen it before
or after that. You know, that's like a there's something

(02:21:35):
really different. I usually they canceled one and then except
the other, but they combined the yardage for both of them.
I don't know the rule book, but I didn't know
that was possible. Oh my god, that's amazing. I know,
I do. I I feel you. I feel your pain, brother,
big listen, you hang in there. Man. At least you

(02:21:56):
got a quarterback. Hopefully the state's healthy for sure to
take any Oh my god, that's some pain right there. Oh,
let's go to Derek in New York. Derek, you're off
the fellas. What's happened to my brother? Hey, Anthony, it's
good to talk to you. I listen to you guys
very often. On Saturday morning. Is getting ready for my day, Uh, Anthony,

(02:22:18):
I know you'll relate to this Italian eatery. I live
in Schenecta in New York. But there's a place in Albany,
New York. Nice, nice traditional name. I can remember because
it's the name of my oldest son, Sam. It's called
Sam's Italian. And you walk in and you know the
old school. You know the people, you know, they've been
brought up with the restaurant. They've lived their whole life there,
their whole family, everybody in the family works there. And

(02:22:41):
you know the maitre d, the lady of the house,
comes around. How you doing, bona? She comes around your table.
It's it's wonderful. And I'm not going to use my
last name. My last name is. My last name is Italian.
I look English from my mother, but I'm Italian. Hey, um,
I know you got a lot of calls. I'll be
I'll be brief, but I'm gonna give you a quick

(02:23:02):
few here. I'm a Green Bay Packer fan. I ran
a Packer fan club around here for thirty five years,
so I know the pain. The biggest pain for me
the Packer fan was a Seattle loss which was in
January of two thousand fifteen, where like nine things went
wrong and the Packers lost the game that they had
in the bag and they should have won. Also by extension,
I am a Wisconsin Badger basketball fan and football fan,

(02:23:23):
and I remember dating a woman when remember when Wisconsin
was playing Duke for the title a few years ago,
and she's like, Oh, don't worry about it, They'll be back.
I said, listen to me, Duke will be back every
three or four years. Wisconsin getting to the championship game
is what Wisconsin that year? Yeah? Yeah, Sam Decker, she didn't.

(02:23:46):
She didn't get that, Okay, and the other teams I
love you talk about hard luck teams. All these teams
were prominent in the nineties. They were within the inch
you win, and and only the Packers did. I'm also
since Pete Maravich, a Utah Jazz fan. One point show
off by the elbow with Michael Jordan's that was a nightmare.
I got so upset by that. Anthony. I was helping
my ex father in law move and I had to

(02:24:08):
throw concrete blocks into a truck, you know, from his patio.
I was there looking at me like, how are you
able to pick these up? The next day, I'm throwing
these rocks in there. I had to go to physical
therapy for five months because I hurt my shoulder because
the night before the freaking jazz loss to the both. Okay,
the other one is I'm a Cleveland Indian fan. You're like,

(02:24:29):
you're like one pitch away against Florida for winning it all.
So I do know. Acts the rain comes, it changes everything. Yeah,
but how about when the Cubs played the Indians and
the Indians were really close to beating him? Man, that
hurt too. I mean that I'm talking about that from

(02:24:50):
your standpoint. Yeah, the rains actually hurt the Indians. Yeah, yeah,
so I know, hard luck. And you know what, Anthony,
for those of us listening, you the women in our life,
you know why significant others they don't always quite get it.
Like my girlfriend will say, it's a game. Why why
are you going into mental decline over this? You know,

(02:25:12):
they don't quite get it, and it's just they just
don't get it. But listen, it's been fun listening. Thanks
for giving me a voice, and you ought to do
this more often. Don't forget Sam's Italian in Albany, New York.
I won't, I won't thank your body. Appreciate it, my man. Yeah,
oh my god. How about those teams? Oh that's a

(02:25:36):
that's brutal. I have a question. Uh there, Bully, if
you live in New York and those are all your teams,
why don't you just stop being fans of those teams
and just like you know, be a Yankees fan because
he's in New York state, He's it's not New York City.
It's it's a different it's like a different land. But
I mean, it's closer than Cleveland, right, I don't know,

(02:25:59):
it's actually not upstate New York is closer to Cleveland,
like you have you that area, that rust Belt area
is is closer. It's closer to to Cleveland than in
the is to New York City. I was about to say,
I remember going on family trips from Toledo. We'd cross
over that, you know, we go up to Detroit and
cross over that little bit of Ontario and be right

(02:26:22):
there in the Niagara. Like it's pretty easy to get
from Ohio to say Buffalo or Rochester. Yeah, that's the
part that it's like, you gotta live in Pennsylvania, right,
and you got Pittsburgh is on the western side of
the state. It's closer to Cleveland than it is Philadelphia.

(02:26:44):
Takes six hours to drive from Philly to Pittsburgh. Like
we're you know, we're it's a different it's it might
as well be a different region. Like our region is closer.
Like you have this little sliver of Philadelphia, South Jersey, Delaware,
and it's like that little area is that area is

(02:27:07):
what really we make up and we have more in
common there than we would do with the western part
of the state. Right to our teams are region. The geography,
the geography works like that. So that's why he's almost
a free agent when it comes to certain like baseball team,
He's sure he's gonna go to Indians. Let's go to

(02:27:31):
the Lord of trendings. Yes, a man who doesn't know pain,
he only knows how to give pain. The one the
only I Good morning, Anthony, really enjoying the show, will
always enjoy the show, but particularly enjoying this one of

(02:27:51):
the contributions of such a great cross section of callers
throughout the country. Also taking notes about the uh small
business rush front so that I hope to patronize in
future years. Give me a yellow at some point today,
what yeo. It's my version of a shout out. Okay,
I'll get it. I wanted l A. Yo. You know

(02:28:14):
what's crazy right now? I mean in l A, there's
a lot of none of them come to mind right now.
I mean in and out is obviously, but they're not
exactly a small business. I'm gonna throw at you too.
Outside of l A. We're gonna start with Tucson, Arizona,
great little breakfast diner called Bobos, Tucson, Arizona on Grant

(02:28:35):
Road eight. They're about two or three months ago. I
love Anthony, these diners where the servers always call you honey.
You know those old times, unpretentious diners. I love those places.
So shout out to Bobos and Tucson, Arizona, and you
might find this sacrilegious. I hope not. But we're gonna
go with a great Italian place and that hotbed of

(02:28:58):
Italian cuisine, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Shout out to Lorenzo's
Italian Place in Las Cruces, New Mexico. One of the
best Italian meals I've ever had in my life. You
wouldn't think that I got a dear friend of mine
from Las Crucis. Uh, George Willis. He actually writes he

(02:29:19):
used to write for the New York Times, you right,
for the New York Posts. And he's a big cruise
you know. I forget how he would he would call
the region he did it had a nickname for Las Crucius,
and he would always talk about And I was supposed
to go one year because I've never been. One of
the few places I haven't been is New Mexico and
I want to go there. It's beautiful, beautiful, Yeah, so

(02:29:42):
market down when you do go Lorenzo's I think it's
on University Avenue. We start very cool with the Australian
Open today in Melbourne, Naomi Osaka winning it six four
six three in the final of American Jennifer Brady. It's
Nami Osaka's fourth your Grand Slam Championship already in the

(02:30:03):
NBA Friday Night moment, here we go. Yeah, um, Anthony, Uh,
where is this coming from? Because I'm not playing it.
I'm looking through the window at Chris's monitor and he's
not playing it. Where is this coming everybody? For Philadelphia

(02:30:29):
sev did you did you smell it? Did you hack
into our computer system? For Philadelphia? I mean, I'm trying
to hit the off button on the console and nothing's happening. Alright,
Well we might as well lean into this baby. Here
is Tom McGinnis on w p N with a Joel

(02:30:52):
and Beat medley against the Chicago bull sofias Harris to
a beat six ers by three, makes a quick movement
are full slap it feed right by Carter Jr. At
Hammers at Harris fakes it drives and in and out
and he's falling down. Teddy stores the ball. He topples

(02:31:12):
backwarder still put to that forty three points for feed
Joel double ten, past life, fadeaway up at good straight music, hierarchy,
faceline step back shot, it's good on the funny forty
nine and it feed is flexi for the front office. Yes,
he would finish with a career high fifty points in

(02:31:33):
the sixers one twelve to one oh five victory over
the Bulls. He also had seventeen rebounds, five assists, four blocks,
and two steals. Happy now, Anthony beating, You may be
happy you took away my pave of losing my quarterback.
All right, get out of you, all right, there we go.
Just remember a friend e bead is a friend indeed elsewhere.

(02:31:58):
Speaking of fifty, jam All Murray a career high fifty
for Denver and there one twenty to one oh three
victory at Cleveland. Nikola Yokich a triple double, sixteen points,
twelve rebounds tennis is for Nicola Yokich. The Phoenix Suns
rallied from eleven down of the fourth quarter to win
in New Orleans by eighteen, a twenty nine point fourth
quarter turnaround one thirty two to one four team. The

(02:32:20):
Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Utah Jazz one sixteen to
one twelve, breaking the jazz Is nine game winning streaky
honest on Tedna Kumpo twenty nine points, nineteen rebounds, eight
assists in three blocks as Milwaukee defeated the Oklahoma City
Thunder to Anthony, there's a smile on your face back
to yes, there is thank you. I you always put

(02:32:42):
a smile on my face, so I appreciate that. Welcome back.
We are the Fellas links off today and uh a
lot of fun. Man. You guys have been terrific. Fells
Alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. You
can call one eight eight eight farmers and you could

(02:33:02):
save a whole lot of something on auto insurance. Let's
do it. Let's get back and talk to one of
our friends, shall we. Uh, let us go to Tom
in Iowa. Hello, Tom, Hey, this is Tom and Iowa.
I'll tell you what I think. That Carson Wentz beat

(02:33:23):
my Hawkeyes one year when he was with North Dakota State.
If I remember right, Yes, that's right. That was his
signature Willie College. You're right, yeah, but he had three
hundred pound lignement. I remember at that time too, so
I don't know, but I'll tell you what my opinion.
I've been a Crevist fan since nineteen sixty nine when

(02:33:45):
Billy Williams was my favorite player and I was playing whiffleball.
And then of course later on we thought nineteen four
with Brian Sandberg was gonna win it, and they got
beat out by San Diego in two thousand three d
of course the Bartman incident where they thought they'd beat

(02:34:06):
the Marlins. But you know what, it was all worth
it when they finally wanted how about it? That had
to be you. I always say, Tom, and you can
back me up here that you must bleed to no bliss. So, yeah,

(02:34:27):
you know what. You know what I'm in. I'm in
the vortex of Cubs Cardinal country. I'm three hours from St.
Louis and three hours from Chicago and south southeast Iowa
on the Mississippi. But I got so many Cardinal haters.
I loved it in when five million fans showed up
in Chicago, how about that? That is awesome. That is awesome,

(02:34:52):
my man. You deserved it. After bleeding like that, you
deserved your bliss. Thank you, buddy. We still got some
time sneak in before we get out of here. Your
calls at eight eight seven seven six six three seven
seven three six nine, that's how you reach us. It's

(02:35:13):

contributions far that's right. We are the fellas we come
to the Alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports for

(02:35:57):
Adio Studios Call Farmers Today, get yourself a quote, Chris,
what did you learn today? Mm hmmm, I've learned there's
a lot of good Italian places in some places that
I haven't even heard of yet. So, by the way,
I had one more yo, I did want to give

(02:36:17):
it to my hometown. Will hold on to it all right.
I want to get Baba's up from Georgia. I want
to get the Bubba to conclude our whirl around the
country this morning, and I want to make sure he
gets a chance to purge the pain. Bob, what's happening baby? Hey,

(02:36:38):
thanks for having me. I'm gona First off, I want
to give a go to um Zaxby's if you ain't
never been there. I mean, it's a great place to
eat at. Yeah. Uh. Second, um my pain is gonna
be a different type of pain just about It's gonna
be due to one guy in the in the fell

(02:37:01):
uh for the past you know what three decades or so.
But uh, of course we already know that's Thomas Edward
Patrick Brady Jr. I mean, I'm just oh man, I've
I've had three main teams, the Seahawks, the Falcons, and

(02:37:22):
now I switched just jump ship, abandoned ship. And thought
I was on a good one with the the the
Kansas City Chiefs. And he's beat He's now beat all
three of them, and I have had enough. I've had enough.
I he beat the Leason of Booms. He came back
from the depths of Hell against the Falcons and and

(02:37:43):
and beat them three. I'm telling you, he's the goat.
He's the goat. I came on. I would never I
have the numerous, the numerous, they're broken TVs over the years,
shooting my kids out of the room, but lost bets,
that my my work. I'm done. He's the goat. I

(02:38:04):
give up. Thank God. Oh MoMA, that's fabulous. It's the
way to end it, baby, that is fabulous. See there's
a moral here. The moral of the story is, you
can't jump ship, right, You can't abandoned ship, no matter
how dark, no matter how painful, no matter how how

(02:38:29):
difficult it feels. You can't abandoned ship. You gotta stay
with your squad, the ultimate test of loyalty. Yeah, I don't.
I don't get that. How do how do you have
three different teams and they're all from different areas of
the world. Well maybe he maybe he lived in those places,

(02:38:50):
you know, I suppose. I mean, I mean personally, I
don't really care about like fandom and stuff like that,
but I don't know. That's just a that's a weird though.
You're right, But you know what's great about it is
but that you know, he he's gotten tortured his whole
sports life, his whole football life by Brady. But that's

(02:39:12):
that's that's that's rough, man. I mean, it's cruel. But
like at this point, haven't all of us had our
teams tortured by Tom Brady? Yeah, I mean I have.
I although the only time I only joy I had
was they vaquished him. The only team that has really
not been tortured is the Giants. Right, if you're a

(02:39:33):
Giants fan, you know, you know brady'sy all be because
even the bottom even thinking about like myself, like there
was the the Oh six Playoffs where Marlon McCree fumbled
that ball and the Patriots won that game, and then
the Super Bowl. So yeah, I've I've had my share
of Tom Brady ruining, my ruining, my day. Well, my

(02:39:58):
man Chris, give us the Yeah. I just wanted to
get one more yeo out of the way, just because
I didn't mention Toledo earlier. And I'm you know, I
grew up in Toledo and everything, and I wanted to
get I wanted to get the you know, the good
stuff out of the way. Can but can go in Toledo. Yeah,
k E n g O. It's a sushi and like

(02:40:20):
Japanese grill place. It's run by a guy who's to
do a lot of really good stuff all around the Midwest.
But it's it's not it's not super fancy. It's very
down to earth, but it's a great atmosphere. It's probably
it's it's downtown in Toledo, which has been revitalized over
the year, especially when the mud Hens came and thankfully
he survived COVID pretty well. And let me just tell

(02:40:43):
you that you go there, the quality of the fish,
it will hold a candle and even beat a lot
of places, even out in Los Angeles can go into.
It's probably my favorite that in some old Italian places
like uh like Macy's Steak Nancy Steakhouse, those are the
best places in Toledo cool. I love I love that.
I hope you know we we always like to. It's

(02:41:06):
good pride, right, hometown pride, to be able to spout
out your local place. And we're hearing Fox. We understand
the plight and the toll the pandemics taken on local businesses.
So you know, it's nice to be able to give
everybody a yell. You know what I'm saying, everybody, thanks
for hanging, appreciate it, have a great week. We'll see

(02:41:27):
you next Saturday.
