Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. The late game in
the NBA saw the Lakers come back to beat the
Pacers one oh five to one hundred as Kyle Kusma
led l A with twenty four points while Lebron James
chipped in eighteen and ten assists. Earlier in the night,
the Lakers announced that Anthony Davis will remain out for
at least two weeks. He will be reevaluated at that
point as he continues to nurse that calf injury. Elsewhere,

(00:24):
Utah pulled away from Houston for a one fourteen to
ninety nine victory as Donovan Mitchell score twenty eight points.
That's fifteen straight losses for Houston Miami. With the victory
over the Bulls, they've won nine of their last ten.
Jimmy Butler with twenty eight points there, nicolea Yoki twenty
eight points, fifteen rebound, seven assists, leading Denver to a
two point victory over Memphis. Joel and Beat scored twenty

(00:44):
three points leading Philadelphia over Washington, but he left the
game in the third quarter after a hyper extending his knee.
He will have an m r R on Saturday, and
kyleege troops. Oklahoma State beat Baylor in the Big twelve
semi as Kay Cunningham at twenty five points pack twelve
wins for Colorado and Oregon State. What a title? Are
you ready? Darkness? The Princes of Darkness, The Prints of

(01:06):
Darkness is in the house of Jonas Knocks. The story
is Jonas Knocks. Well me God, Like I said, Jonas
Knock is coming through your speakers like the right cross
from a boxer that you never heard of. What's going
on here and now, live from the Fox Sports Radio studios,

(01:27):
here's Jonas Knocks. You're really going through with this Hunches,
So believe it or not, there's somebody in the NFL
that you should be rooting for, because I know I am,

(01:49):
and I'll explain why coming up here in just a
couple of moments from now Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio

the way up until six am Eastern time, and as
always we do it live from the Farmers Insurance Fox
Sports Radio studios. When you switch to Farmers Insurance, you
could save a bundle. All you gotta do is call
one eight eight eight Farmers and get a quote. Today
we are Farmers. So Cam Newton is back as quarterback

(02:38):
for the New England Patriots right now. Whether they bring
somebody in you would expect that, but whatever, And and
Cam Newton is gonna be back. And look, he signed
the deal. He's gonna be making more than he made
last year. But this is Cam Newton, you know, going
back to New England, making the decision early, not even
really waiting for free agency. And and you go back

(02:59):
to last reason and he go, well, you know, they
started out kind of hot. There was that game on
Sunday Night in which we saw Cam Newton go ahead
to head with Russell Wilson on Sunday Night Football and
they were on the goal line and ready to go
in and score touchdown and then you know, to win
the game. And then he suffered. He you know, he
got COVID and then he came back and wasn't quite

(03:19):
the same. And there was a fumble late in the
game against Buffalo, a game that they very well could
have won. So kind of a mixed review year for
Cam Newton. He definitely had some poor performances under a
hundred yards in a lot of places, but there were glimpses,
especially early on, of something that looked like the old
Cam Newton that played at a really high level. So

(03:42):
if you're asking me if it's gonna work this year,
I'm not sure. Maybe that's not the right answer to have,
but I'm not sure if it's gonna work. It's a
wait and see approach. But I'll tell you this, I hope,
I really hope that it works for Cam Newton in
New England this season. And I'm rooting for Cam Newton
in New England this season. And here's why. The most

(04:05):
proud I ever was of my dad. This is the
hardest working guy I've ever met in my life. A right,
The most proud of I ever wasn't my dad. He
lost his job. He we were obviously didn't have money,
we didn't grow up with a lot, and and he
didn't make a lot of his job, and he worked
his ass off, but he ended up losing his job

(04:28):
and he needed money because he had a house payment
and a family to take care of. And although we
were older, he still had obligations and things that had
to happen. He didn't work at a place that set
up a retirement fund. He didn't really have much of
any of that as far as the future goes. He
was literally we were living paycheck by to paycheck for
my entire life. Most proud I ever wasn't. My dad

(04:51):
lost his job, was still working, and this is in
his late sixties, early seventies, and he took a job
job at a gas station. Took a job at a
gas station to work behind the counter, to get harassed
and belittled and mocked by people who went in there,

(05:12):
who threw twenty bucks on the counter and said fill
it up, or put put ten on number six and
give me the rest on a pack of camels or
whatever it was that they needed. And that was my dad.
Late sixties, early seventies. Should have been retired, should have
been enjoying the entire retired life. Never got the chance,
never got that chance. Had to work. He had to,

(05:34):
and he wasn't too proud for it. He humbled himself
and said, hey, people might make fun of me, they
might mock me, and they did almost every day, and
I heard the stories every day and it pissed me
off every day. But it was the most proud I
ever was because he wasn't too proud. Cam Newton was
as big of a superstar quarterback the league has ever seen.

(05:57):
I mean superstar. If you described, all, right, who's this superstar? Like,
what what's a player in the NFL? You look at
and you go that guy's got star power. It's Cam Newton,
I mean all of it. Superstar quarterback, one of the
most superstar quarterbacks the league has ever seen. And in

(06:18):
back to back seasons he's humbled himself and he said,
you know what, I know where I came from, but
I want to play. And I maybe you know, nobody
else wants this, or maybe uh, some people might be
too good for it. But Cam was like, I want
to play. Oh that you don't have a lot to offer.

(06:41):
You've got a million dollars in change, I'll take it.
I'll play. Oh, you're gonna sign me to a fourteen
million dollar deal and like six to nine million dollars
of it or incentive, so it really comes out to
like a five million dollar bass salary. I'll play. Yeah,
I was an m v P. There was a while
there during my career if people were arguing, is he
on a Hall of Fame trajectory? I mean national champion? Uh,

(07:07):
Heisman trol like all of that stuff. Cam was like,
all play for a million and change after taxes, maybe
under a million. Yeah, I'll play for five million bucks
in year two, no problem. How the hell could you
not root for that guy? How could you not look
at that guy and say, of all the people who
could who could push back and say, hey man, I'm

(07:29):
not playing for a million and change, I'm not. No, no, no.
And you think I'm gonna come back in year two
and you're gonna give me a raise to five like
you think like you think me m v P all
that I've accomplished. You think you think I'm coming back
to do that. No, no, no, no no. But he wasn't.
He wasn't too proud of it. He wasn't too too
good for it. He said, I'm in, let's go. When

(07:53):
so many people knocked the patriot way, he had all
these people come out the past several months and not
the Patriots and and say, oh my god, Yeah, you see,
nobody wants to play there. It's miserable and and who
the hell would want to go there? And and you know,
you got Danny m and Dola taken shots and all
these other former Patriots taken shots at the Patriot Way

(08:14):
and you know, mocking whatever the Patriots were, and now
they're no more and nobody, you know, it's a miserable
place to play, and nobody has fun there. Cam Newton,
when all of that was being said, Cam Newton the
quote unquote diva quarterback, the guy who quote cares too
much about his fashion. He should focus on his game

(08:37):
and care less about his fashion, the quote unquote me
quarterback in the NFL. When all of those guys were
saying that, Cam Newton took a bottom barrel contract and
went with no offseason, got a disease, all because he
just wanted to play. I want to play. I know,

(09:00):
I don't need the money. I want to play. Hey,
there's COVID going on. Man, you can put yourself at risk.
There's a lot of guys opten out. It wouldn't be
it wouldn't be safe. Okay, I'll take the risk. I
want to play. And then he goes back for seconds.
How the hell is anybody not looking at this going, hey, man,

(09:24):
whatever I thought before, Good for him, Good for that
guy man, Good for somebody who who actually is showing you,
not just saying it. A lot of people say, you know,
I'm I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I'm willing
to I'm willing to sacrifice. This game means everything to me.
This is so important to me. I'm willing to do

(09:45):
whatever it takes. A lot of people say it. Cam
Newton showing you like this is it would be one
thing and and and the easy pushback in this as well.
He doesn't have any other options. Sure, he does not
risk himself for pennies in comparison to what he's already
made in his career. Jay has got options, of course

(10:08):
he does. He doesn't have to do this every A
lot of players had options last year. They could not play,
players who were still in their prime, players who were
still good football players. They had options. They said, yeah,
I don't want to play. I'm gonna opt out. We
respect your decision. The Patriots guys on his own team,

(10:28):
and there were eight of those guys opted out. Cam
Newton's like, I'll play million and change, get a disease,
no off season, try and follow the footsteps of the
great Tom Brady. I'm in. Where do I sign? I'll go?
I Oh that burning building, y'all go into that one?
How the hell do you not roof? And then doubles down,

(10:53):
goes on a show with Brandon Marshall, former NFL quarterback,
for a Fox Sports one and says, Hey, if they
want to bring me back, I'm in. It's like, okay, yeah, whatever,
he's just saying that. He's like, no, no, no, no,
I didn't even wait for free agency. Yeah, where do
I sign? Oh? Majority of its incentives? No problem? Where

(11:13):
do I sign? I'm telling you, man, I have no
idea whether it's gonna work for Cam Newton in year two.
I have no clue, no, no clue whatsoever. I don't
know if the Patriots are gonna be a wild card
team or the worst team in the division. I have
no clue. I don't know what Cam Newton is gonna
look like with a full offseason. I don't know if

(11:34):
it's gonna be any better. I don't know if his
body is gonna give out again. I don't know any
of this. I don't know if he's if he's gonna
be on the active roster, if he doesn't suffer an
injury in training camp, god forbid, or if he gets
beat after that. I have no idea. Here's what I know.
I hope it does. I hope it works out for him,

(11:54):
because that guy has shown you I'm not too good
for this. Forget about all that I've done, forget about
all the money, all of that stuff. I show up
in a viral clip because some teenage football player is
mocking me and calling me a backup. That's fine, make

(12:15):
all the jokes you want. I'm not too good for
the gig. I'll sign up, and then I'll sign up
again for a year two again. I have no idea
if it works, but I really hope it does. Jonas

never thought of the strategy never, and so I thought, unbelievable.
I want to have morks. I want you guys to

by the way, none of you are beating me in

(15:50):
that bracket challenge. Just letting you know a little little
spoiler there, a little teaser for you here. Um, I
don't want to listen. I'm not trying to rain anybody's
parade here. That's not what I like to do, right.
We like to celebrate things. We like to celebrate things.
A lot of people have accused me from being negative.
From time to time. We do a segment here on
Fox Sports Radio called do You Care, where we talk

(16:11):
about things that people thought were a big deal throughout
the course of the week, and more often than not,
I say that I don't care about them because I don't.
I just don't, all right, I don't care what Marvel
Comics came out with. I don't care you know who
want an autograph pair of he Man underwear, or whether
or not see five p O snuck out with our
three D two or whatever their names are. I don't

(16:33):
care about that stuff. And I'm gonna be honest about it.
I'm not gonna pretend like I'm paying attention to that
because I don't. Alright, So we have a very negative
segment here, But I'm not trying to be negative here.
That's not what I'm trying to do. I don't want
to do that. I don't want to come off as
being negative. I just simply want to warn some people.
I just want to warn some people or something. Right, So,

(16:53):
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers resign quarterback Tom Brady to an extension.
Right now, it's gonna end up saving him a out
nineteen million dollars against the cap this season. So Brady's back,
it's going to save him a bunch of money. They
extend the years out on the deal, and everything's like,
oh my god, now we're gonna bring back our free
agents and everybody's gonna come back. We're gonna run this
thing all back. So I got good news. I got

(17:16):
good news for Bucks fans. All right. The good news
is your team is going for it, right They are
going for it, so you the clear path. The Tampa
Bay Buccaneers have said we're going for it, and we're
going for it right now. A right. So that's the
good news because at least you know, at least you
know what's happening. And if you think about it, it
could look a lot like the Peyton Manning run in Denver,

(17:38):
which was super successful. All right, there's a lot of
similarities here, Like think about this, I mean Peyton Manning
and Denver, Tom Brady and Tampa think about it. All time,
quarterback with something to prove, joins a decent roster who
was an okay team the year before, like Tampa Bay
was seven and nine. If if jamis Winston just throws

(18:00):
ten less picks, uh to a you know, a meager
twenty twenty interceptions on the season, that maybe they win
a couple of those games and they're above five hundred
and possibly a playoff team. Denver the year before Peyton
Manning was a playoff team and they were five hundred.
So these teams needed an upgrad a quarterback. Manning was
in Denver for four years. They were fifty and fourteen

(18:22):
in the regular season, they had two Super Bowl appearances
and they won a Super Bowl. Total success. So there's
a lot of similarities here. There's a lot of similarities
between Tom Brady and Tampa and Peyton Manning and Denver.
And then we got the bad news. Uh, the Broncos
are sixteen games under five hundred since Peyton Manning run ended,

(18:44):
and they have not been back to the playoffs. So
since Peyton Manning and that whole era ended, sixteen games
below five hundred, zero zero playoff appearances for the Denver Broncos.
All right, now, I am not again trying to rain
on anybody's parade. I'm not doing it. That's not what
I'm trying to do. I'm simply saying enjoy this as

(19:09):
much as humanly possible while it's here, right, enjoy it.
Let it seep into your pores, all right, if you
want to go, and I wouldn't recommend this, but if
you have, you had a couple of cocktails, you're out
at the marina. Next thing you know, you're you're bathing
in the the exact location where they had their their
boat parade after the Super Bowl. If you wanted to go,

(19:30):
enjoy that. Whatever, do what you gotta do. Uh, if
you want to you know, uh, you know, reenact Tom
Brady tossing the Lombardi Trophy from boat to boat. Go at,
do what you gotta do. I enjoy the hell out
of it, all of it, all right, enjoy it because
your organization has a clear direction. They have a clear path,

(19:52):
their path, and their their idea, which is the way
this roster is constructed. Is we are going for it. Now.
We have a window, and we're going through that window.
While all that's happening, the window is slowly closing, all right,
So you're gonna have to get more precise and more
accurate as the window gets closed, begins to close more

(20:14):
and more, because then you know, the windows shut and
all things are over. So I'm just saying I understand
you know that there are some fan bases out handle
it different than some other fan bases. Some fan bases
their teams go all out, they sell out to win
a championship. They win that championship, and then three years
later the team stinks and they're like, oh my god,
what would this team do something? Could you get something

(20:37):
done at the trade deadline? It's like, dude, like, like,
what did you think you were watching a couple of
years ago? That was your window. This is ultimately what
ends up happening. So and and again, not trying to
be the negative guy, not trying to put a damper
on any of the Tampa Bay Buccaneer success. I'm happy
Tom Brady save them nineteen million dollars with this new contract.

(20:59):
I'm happy they're gonna be able to get some of
their top free agents back, and they're gonna be able
to really run this thing back in an NFC South,
which I'm not convinced there's gonna be another playoff team
outside of Tampa Bay next year. Honestly, Atlanta, who the
hell knows. Carolina feels like they're not quite sure what
they want to do a quarterback, and that New Orleans

(21:20):
is still waiting on Drew Brees to pick the right
time when there's no other news so he can get
all the glory when he decides to finally retire. So
I I this feels like a really good time for
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Enjoy it because just like Denver
Bronco fans remember that four year stretch with Peyton manning
there and the Super Bowls and the all the wins

(21:42):
and the fifty and fourteen record, they're also the same
fan base that since then is sitting at sixteen games
below five hundred and no playoff appearances. Enjoy it. Why
you got it? Your team? As a clear direction, do
not take this for granted. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio,
I do want to welcome to the crew. They're gonna
be writing Shotgun with me until six am Eastern time,

(22:04):
Ladies and gentlemen. He is the voice of l A
Sports Radio, and that man is Kevin Fix Back in
the bill then, Jonas, what's going on? What's up? Kevin?
A lot? Good to see Cam Newton get another crack
at it with the New England with maybe a fully
healthy roster of full defense without half of the starters
sitting out for COVID like they did this past year.
People are trying to jumping off the Patriot bandwagon. I

(22:24):
don't fully understand it. They didn't have a full roster
last season. Somebody seems to talk about it. No, I'm
rooting for him. I swear to God, I'm rooting for
the Patriots this next year. In fact, they might be
in Knox locks every week, and I'll bet him every
single week. I have no problem admidding that. You know
what I hope Cam Newton does. And I'm not a
sinister guy, Kevin. You know that about me. I'm not
somebody who looks for revenge. Um. You know there have

(22:44):
been rumors that, you know, I was a big fan
of ravishing Rick Rudin all the bad guys in the
w WF, and I can't confirm nor deny that. All
I'll say is this, If Cam Newton wanted to drive
by that kid's house who was making fun of him
on the sideline at the seven on seven tournament and
walk up to him and rip a hundred dollar bill
in half in front of his face, I wouldn't be

(23:05):
opposed to it. I would if he just walked right
up to him and ripped a hundred dollar bill in
half and just set it on the ground right in
front of the kid. I wouldn't be opposed to keV.
I'm sorry, I'm right there with you. Who's the free
agent now, A little little million dollar man, Ted DiBiase
a little he'll turn for Cam Newton listen, I would
be I wouldn't be opposed to it. So yeah, I'm

(23:26):
all forward. And by the way, ravishing mcgrud was one
of the great superstars of all time had his face
on his actual on his pants. That was amazing. Well
here's here's the other thing did this is a great
ravishing grick rud was he put his opponent's wife's face
on his pants. That Jake the Snake Roberts was his
was his arch enemy for a few months. And he

(23:49):
put Jake Roberts wife on his tights, her face, her face.
And I should be let me clear that up. A face,
A picture of his wife's face on his tights right,
not on her actual face. A picture of his wife's face.
Before people start to run hr about. This is not
some handibal electrotype situation. It wasn't one of those. No,
it's not. Yeah, there there is no There is no

(24:11):
buffalo Bill it's right the door. No with a dog
in the well. No, absolutely not. Um, but yes, So,
so we are rooting for Cam Newton here on Fox
Sports Radio, and I'm not I'm not ashamed of it. Uh.
Bo Benson is your executive producer here at f S.
So you never know what the sick mass is going
to do next. Good evening, Jonas, how's it going? It's happening, Bo,

(24:31):
Uh not much. Um. I don't know if I can
root for Cam Newton on the Patriots. I I just
don't know if that's something I'll I can do. Um.
Maybe he was your root for Trevor Bauer, but you
won't root for Cam Newton, not on the Patriots. Maybe
if he was on any other team. But I I
wish nothing but misfortune on the Patriots. See, I don't
here's the I don't get the Patriots hate. And and

(24:53):
here's is it. Is it the Patriots or is it
Tom Brady. It's like Tom Brady got away for got
away from everything, and everyone's like, oh god, the everything,
all the bad people are still. It's like dude, Brady
was the guy in charge there. He was the quarterbacks.
If you hated if you hate the Patriots, you gotta
hate bread. It's it's Boston, Okay. I mean yeah, well looks.

(25:14):
I mean they're very opinionated, very opinionated, and and they think,
you know, their teams are above all and they've had
a lot of success, and they're not afraid to let
you know about it. That's that's the problem. Yeah, but
you know you got Mookie Bets, So what are you
worried about? Complain about that? That's fine. And Chris Perfett
is your technical producer here at Fox Sports Radio. Chris,

(25:35):
what's happened those wonderful toys? I'm gonna have to double
down on the Boston hate just because uh, I was
on another show and Anthony Gargano asked me, like, my
worst period of sports pain ever And it is still
the alcs between the Tigers and the Red Sox, watching
Tory Hunter flip over the outfield wall as the Boston

(25:56):
cop puts his hands up in the air. So I'm
still not over that eight years later. Yeah, but everything's
but everything's fine for the Tigers, yea, everything's great for
the Tigers. Don't worry about it. By the way, how
are the Red Wings? Are the Red Wings any good anymore? Yeah?
I guess since like the hockey is going back to
ESPN suddenly, everyone's like, oh, hockey is gonna be relevant again,

(26:16):
and I'm like cool, but the Red Wings are Let
me let me just check the Red Wings record here.
Uh nope, nope, I'm good for a while. Okay, So
so because I haven't actually thought about this, So the
Lions are bad. Um, the Tigers are bad. Uh, the
Pistons are bad, very bad. Yeah, and the Red Wings
are bad. Who's good? I think the best team out

(26:38):
of that is probably the Tigers. And that's not a
that's not a scenario I I'm looking forward to because yeah,
but that's like being the tallest jockey at the Kentucky Derby,
you know what I mean. Like it's like, okay, neat,
but like, like, is there is there a professional sports
team there that's any good? Is there a minor like
a minor league team. Is there a semi pro team.

(27:01):
I'll give you this Detroit City FC, which is like
the third tier soccer team in Detroit. Probably good, but
it is an interested time in Detroit in that regard
because usually, like the past I don't know, thirty years,
there's always at least one team that's good at a
given time, Like in the nineties was the Red Wings.
Early two thousands you had the Pistons. Later two thousands
you had the Tigers getting good. You know, somewhere in

(27:23):
there you had a couple of good Lions teams and
the Red Wings back in the two thousand's again, but
those days are done. Man, Yeah, there's no good team.
There's like there. You could always take refuge if you
were Detroit fan and one team, one team and one
team only. That's no longer the case. Yeah, it's over.
But listen, we will hopefully we can provide a spark
of hope to the city of Detroit here on Fox

(27:43):
Sports Radio. That would be so the whole crew is
going to be here until six am the Eastern time
here on Fox Sports Radio coming up next. Um, this
is the best betting advice you can possibly get on
the n c A tournament. I'm telling you it's it's
a crucial, crucial inner be you do not want to
miss it. It's yours next year on fs are for
all the latest though, Kevin Alright. The late game of

(28:05):
the NBA saw Los Angeles d Lakers, that is, come
back and beat the Pacers one oh five to one hundred.
Kyle Kuzmo the leading score for the Lakers off the
bench with twenty four points, while Lebron James chipped in
eighteen points and ten assists. Earlier in the night, the
Lakers announced that Anthony Davis will remain out for at
least two weeks. That is when he will be reevaluated
as he continues to nurse that calf injury. Elsewhere, Utah

(28:27):
pulling away from Houston for a one fourteen to ninety
nine victory as Donovan Mitchell score twenty eight, mcconnoley score twenty,
Houston getting twenty four from Kevin Porter Jr. But I've
lost fifteen games in a row. Miami with a victory
over Chicago. That's nine wins of their last ten games.
Jimmy Butler twenty eight points in the victory. Nicolea Yoki
twenty eight points, fifteen boards, seven assists, leading Denver to

(28:47):
a victory over Memphis. Joel and be led Philadelphia with
with twenty three points in a win over Washington. He
did leave the game in the third quarter after hyper
extending his knee. He will have an m r R R
on Saturday and some conference tournament action in college shops.
Colorado with the victory over USC in a pack twelve semifinal,
Oregon State with an upset victory over Oregon, and the
other semifinal Oklahoma State be Baylor in a big twelve

(29:10):
semi as cade Cunningham at five points and eight rebounds.
Back to Jonas Knocks, Thanks Cap. Jonas Knocks here on
Fox Sports Radio from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio
Studios called one eight eight Farmers and you could save
a whole lot of something on auto insurance. Coming up
in twelve minutes from now here on fs ARE, it
is an opportunity for us to be negative another edition

(29:31):
of Do You Care? Right here on fs ARE right now.
Though he is a professional sports bettor, some would call
him the best sports better on the planet, he's also
a host here at Fox Sports Radio. He is the
great Steve Fezik joining us here on fs ARE, My
man fees What's happening? Prince of Darkness starting his four

(29:52):
hour adventure I'm flattered to be on Well it was
we figure it's better now because people are more a
lot more sober now than they would be an hour, two,
three or four. So that's why we're able to, you know,
slide you in here and make sure that people could
get the goods and be able to retain some of
this information you provide here on the air. I like
that probably, like maybe one thirty am Pacific hits the

(30:15):
highest alcohol content because some people will passed out or
gone to sleep, and then obviously it comes down. So
what do you think about one thirty would be the
point the optimal point there, you just I mean usually
anywhere between one thirty Pacific time to two thirty Pacific time,
that's when the lines at the fast food drive throughs
seem to get longer, you know, because people leave the

(30:37):
bars and they're bombed, or they're making their ubers sitting
sitting at Carl's Jr. Or a Jack in a box
line because they got to get some food. You know,
that's how that stuff goes. I'm glad you brought up
the lines because the wife set me out for totsy
pops and the like, and so Smith's was closing down
the local food store and there is no human beings
to check people out, so everyone's checking themselves out. I
hate that, Jonas. I love you have the option. If

(31:00):
you just get a couple of items, that's fine, but
you've got like you know, you've got five bags of groceries.
Are you kidding me? And I gotta way the fruit.
I absolutely cannot stand as it. I firmly believe people
buy about less when they got to check themselves out. Yeah. No,
it's a it's a very good point. I'm in agreement
with you. It should be quick and easy. Um now, Fez,

(31:21):
you said something in regards to the n c A
Tournament that I thought, and I'm not even be exaggerating this.
When I heard it, it took me a second to
really repeat it back into my own head, and then
I thought, I've never looked at it like this. So
when people are betting the n c A tournament and
you're one of the best in the business at at

(31:42):
at sports, especially the NFL Super Contest winner back to
back years, when people are betting the n c A tournament,
if they like a team, they'll say, okay, well I
like so and so to win the entire tournament. But
you've said no, no, no, no no, No, there's a different
approach to this that's better for you, in which you
can make more money and lose less if you take

(32:04):
this approach, Please explain, explain the approach to betting the
n c A tournament that I've never heard anybody talk
about anywhere else. So let's say you're gonna put a
hundred dollars on a team like Houston. I think they're
around fifteen to one, So normally bet, you make your
futures bet, you're done with it route for Houston win.
That's entirely the wrong thing to do. If you really
bullish on Houston, just take a hundred dollars. But I'm

(32:26):
on the money line first game. Hey, it's not gonna
pay very much. You know, probably be laying minus four
or something. All right, see cash, and I got a
hundred twenty three dollars in your pocket. Then the next
round you play them on the money line again. You
take that, you go all in again and you bet
them on the money line, and you do that six
straight times by the time you're done. By the time

(32:47):
they're a whatever, they are five and a half point
underdog against um, you know, Baylor. Along their path, you're
going to have engineered to parlay a mechanical parlay that's
going to pay significantly more in all most every case
then you would if you bet into the futures pool. So,
in other words, instead of betting them to win the

(33:07):
entire tournament and and hanging in the balance with every
game is your money that you put for them to
win the entire tournament, you go one game at a time,
because best case scenario is they win the entire tournament
and you win more money because you bet them one
game at a time, and the worst case scenario is

(33:27):
say they lose after round two. But because you don't
have them to win the entire tournament, you're just betting
them game by game. You don't have to worry about
losing those other games and losing that money and waiting
around to find out how you do. Because you're only
taking it one game at a time, but still liking
them enough to win the entire tournament. Well, you're going
to invest your initial investments the same, so you're not

(33:48):
gonna win any more. You're not gonna lose anymore than
you would if you just put that money down. You
just have to have the discipline to keep rolling it.
Over on each recurring game. But it has two advantages.
When you get to the finite line, you're gonna wind
up winning more money. And secondly, if the story changes,
if you no longer like your bet and your team
makes the Elite eight, and normally you're like, oh no,

(34:09):
I don't like him anymore, Let me find a way
to hedge out of it. Now you don't need to
because you've already won money and you're in the clubhouse.
You're done, and you can just take your winnings. That's brilliant.
You know, that would have helped me so long ago.
Fez where were you all those times, all those years
ago when I was losing tournament and Brackett challenges Steve Fezzec,
Fox Sports Radio host Professional Sports Better joining us here

(34:30):
on Fox Sports Radio. All right, um, Gonzaga, people love them,
They're talking about they've got real NBA talent? Are they
an all time team? Some people push back on the
on the competition. What your read on Gonzaga heading into
the tournament? Who's the clear number one seed? Gonzaga is

(34:51):
the clear number one seed, but they're not going to
win the tournament, and the reason being there's a confluence
of bad things for the Zags that are going to
play against them. Number One, the entire tournament is in Indiana,
the last undefeated champion, the Indiana Hoosiers. I think the
neutral crowd is going to turn on Gonzaga just like

(35:13):
those old Miami Dolphins that pop the champagne corks when
some when the last NFL undefeated team loses. I really
think that that's a thing. And so the Zags having
to go to Indiana, I think is a real big
negative that no one is talking about. And further, I
think people in Midwest are pretty loyal. Maybe it's because
I'm from Northwestern and we're losers Jonas, so we never

(35:35):
win anything, but we root for a Big ten brethren.
So I could see the state of Indiana supporting Illinois,
I can see him supporting Ohio State. I can see
him supporting Michigan if any of those teams are playing
against the Zag, so hidden home court against Gonzaga and
the number three the screw job. The n C Double
A Committee has one job to try to get as

(35:56):
many Big five conference teams to advance as deeply as
possible Bowl and to prevent a mid major from winning
the tournament. See hashtag which at two thousand fourteen having
to play a great Kentucky team that they seeded number eight. Alright, great,
probably too strong. Nevertheless, four NBA players on that Kentucky team,
including Julius Randall, and they probably should have been a

(36:18):
four or five seed. They made him an eight seed
and put him in Wichita States path. I think something
similar is going to happen to Gonzaga here, alright. So
so basically what you're saying is for Gonzaga fans who
are finally uh watching this team, thinking they're going to
get over the hump, this is the year Hurricane Faic
is letting them know it's not happening. Now, do you
plan on fading them? Are you gonna take this personal

(36:39):
and fade them every single game with a tournament to
see how you do fees or what? Well? I already
went and bet that the Zags wouldn't win on the
head to head against the Fields, so I already have
my bet down against them, And I also already bet
that the Field would win the tournament, and that the
combination three teams Gonzaga, Baylor, Villanova, that none of those

(37:01):
teams would win. So I'm already pretty heavily invested against
the Zaggs, but um, I'll probably look selectively on the
point spread as well. As a tournament progresses, um to
look to bet against them. All right, So the last
one for Steve Ezz before I let you go quickly.
You have a what is your method when it comes
to college basketball betting? You have some sort of a
method outside of the ones that we've talked about. Please explain. Well,

(37:24):
the vast majority of my bets I make after the
games started. I'm doing live betting. And by the way,
i just got crushed on the Colorado State Utah State
over where. If you can explain to me why there
was no scoring in the final five minutes, I'd like
to know. But I digress pre flop. When I take
a look at all the games, I've got a network
of handicapper's college basketball experts, et cetera. Example, you know,

(37:46):
Brad Powers, of course, and they'll let me know who
they like, and so I'll have a different color for
all these guys, and I'll like have little markers. So
I've got the schedule of the rotation schedule in front
of me, and Ken Thompson is an orange. Brad Powers
isn't gray, and I just go ahead and look to
see what everyone is on. And then when I see alignment,
like three guys all on the same side, that's the

(38:07):
games I really dig into deeply and see if I
can see what they're seeing and make my largest investments
on those. He's the best in the business. Follow him
on Twitter at Physics Sports, at Physic Sports, he is
Steve Physic Professional Sports better Fox Sports Radio host. Now
are you gonna be on with a Bernie Fratto coming
up tomorrow night, Fez or what? Yes? Special addition, I

(38:29):
will be in studio with Bernie for the entire hour
eleven to twelve Pacific. There it is to make sure
you check out us straight out of Vegas with the
great Bernie Fratto and Steve Fezik. Fez, my man, we'll
do it again soon. Thanks for popping on. You know
we have the best weekend hosts of anybody. Jonas my pleasure.
Thank you. There he is. Look at him and and

(38:50):
being a nice guy on the way out. And see
all the all the rumors here about Steve Physick and
getting banned from sports books in Vegas because he takes
too much money from him. Don't believe any of it.
There he is out do wonderful Steve Fezik Alright, Jonas
knocks Fox Sports Radio from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio Studios, coming up next, We're gonna be negative, all right.
Nobody else wills to do it. We gotta do it,

(39:11):
and we'll do it at next here on fs are,
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio from the Farmers Insurance Fox
Sports Radio Studios called Farmers Today for a quote, ten
minutes from now, somebody in the NFL is piste. They
are piste, and I don't blame them. We'll get into
that ten minutes from now here on Fox Sports Radio.

(39:32):
Right now, though, it's time for something we do on
the show called this. There's so many stories in the
world of sports, and most of them are a complete
waste of time. MZ reports. Let's get kinky. Here's some
of the big stories from the last week. But Jonas,
the real question is do you care? And for that
we turn it over to our executive producer Bo Benson

(39:54):
to find out what the hell is going on? Bo? Alright, Jonas, So,
the Chiefs will reportedly restructure quarterback pet Mahomes contract in
order to free up some cap space. Do you care? Nope,
This is happening with every team in the NFL. It's
just the way of the world. I'm not going to
read too much into it. I'm not going to criticize them,
uh you know, for for given the contract they did.

(40:15):
It's just the way things are right now. They've got
to move some stuff around. But I'll be curious to
see what they do with their offensive line. Next alright,
Rockets for Wow, Rockets power forward p J. Tucker will
reportedly not rejoin the team as they figure out a
way to move him. Do you care, No, I don't.
After the n c A Tournament, I'll be able to
give it a little bit more of my attention. But

(40:35):
right now, it's n c A tournament, it's NFL offseason.
At the NBA, it's just there's not enough there to
pull me in on a PJ. Tucker trade rumor. Next alright,
Major League Baseball will reportedly use the minor leagues to
test out some rule changes, including the banning of the shift.
Do you care. I do. I'm not a fan of
the shift, to be honest with you, and I understand

(40:56):
the idea of well, you know, learn how to beat it.
But it's like, all right, a guy hits a ball
really really hard, and because you have you know, you
know it's already hard enough to hit a baseball because
you have seventeen in fielders on one side of the field,
it's not automatic out. I'm not a big fan of it.
The one thing I didn't understand, what's did you see
this one bow where they're the bases are going to

(41:17):
be larger to avoid contact like collisions. Do you see that?
He did not, But that definitely sounds like something baseball
would do, so it just doesn't make any sense. Next, alright,
Hailey Baldwin Bieber will launch her own YouTube channel and
feature a talk show titled Who's in My Bathroom for
for her first guest being her best friend Kendell Jenner.

(41:37):
Jonas do you care? Uh No, I don't. Um it's
it's nothing against her. I'm sure it'll be a fine show.
I'm sure they're gonna do a massive hits. I'm sure
Kendall Jenner is gonna be it's it's gonna be very
very popular, and they're gonna do wonderful numbers. There's a

(41:58):
lot going on right now, much like the E. J.
Tucker trade rumors. There's so much going on right now,
like you know, stuff on Netflix, the n c A tournament,
who knows it's the year anniversary of Joe Exotic or
whatever that dumb show was. Maybe there'll be a part two.
I just don't have time for this. Somebody in the
NFL is not very happy, and I gotta be honest

(42:20):
with you. I don't blame them. We'll get into that
here coming up in just a couple of minutes from now,
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can check out The
show is always on the I Heart Radio app. You
can find us on hundreds of Fox Sports Radio affiliates,
and wherever you are taking part in this program, we
appreciate you doing so. Having some fun over the next

(42:41):
four hours here on fs are excuse me, it's a
four hour show the next three hours. If you already
missed the first hour, you can check out the podcast afterwards.
But regardless and wherever you are, we do this show live.
Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios called one eight eight
eight farmers us to switch and you could save an
average of four seventy dollars on auto insurance. That's a

(43:05):
lot of money for a quick phone call. Don't you
think average nationwide annual savings survey data July to December.
We are. So I want to put you in a scenario.
All right, you're listening to this show right now. I
just want to put you in a scenario right now.
I want to I want to dress this up a
little bit, right. I want to be able to make

(43:28):
everybody understand this. Alright. So, if you're listening to this
right now and you're in a relationship, married, just dating, exclusive,
whatever it is, alright, guy, girl, whoever? Alright, I just
picture this person opposite of you, the person you might
be next to. Just picture this person now. If you're single,

(43:49):
if you don't have anybody right now, imagine you did,
imagine you were with somebody right now. Okay, So now
that we've got that all cleared up and we have
the picture painted, I want to go ahead and walk
you through this, all right. So imagine your better half,
the person you're next to, the person you're thinking about
right now, or the person you're imagining right now. Just

(44:10):
think if they got hit on by somebody else. Imagine
somebody else pursued them. There's a lot of ways you
could feel about that. Right now. Some people might get
a little jealous just because maybe they feel a little threatened,
or some people might take it as a compliment that
somebody else would also find your better half attractive. There's

(44:31):
a lot of different ways you could feel about it.
A lot of ways you could take that. If somebody
hits on your better half, there's a lot of ways
you could take that. Right. But if the person in
pursuit of them knows that they're with you, knows that
they're dating you, and still doesn't care and continues to

(44:53):
pursue them, then it's a little different. Then it goes
into the road of disrespect. Because it's one thing if
you approach somebody and you start talking with them, and
yet you offer to buy him a drink and they
say I have a boyfriend, or I'm married, or I
have a girlfriend. If they blow right through that stop

(45:16):
sign and continue to pursue even though they know that
you exist, that's disrespectful. Whole another conversation, that's a whole
another level, all right, that's just pure disrespect bottom line.
The reason I bring that up is this Dak Prescott's agent,

(45:37):
Todd France. He was talking with Adam Shine of CBS.
All right, Adam Shine, very good Sports stock Radio. As
he was talking with Adam Shine, and he said the
following about Russell Wilson's agent. All right, this is about
Russell Wilson's agent who went on the record talking about

(45:57):
the teams that Russ would accept the trade to. And
Dak Prescott's agent, Todd France said this quote. There's so
many things wrong with it. I guess on different levels,
but I guess Dallas has now crossed off that list.
End quote. That's the part of this stuff that never

(46:17):
gets discussed. We never talked about this stuff, right because
we're too busy playing matchmaker. We don't think about who
all gets affected by it, right, and this isn't you know,
the pity party already. But we're just so busy trying
to play matchmaker, we're not even considering who else has
involved in it. So what Dak Prescott's agent, Todd francis

(46:41):
saying is, Dude, I'm trying to work on a contract
with my client, Dak Prescott and his current team. We're
trying to get something done. You know that they have
a quarterback that they're in negotiations with, and you throw
the Cowboys name out there as one of the teams

(47:03):
that you'd be willing to accept a trade to, like like,
that's that's what we're doing here, Like that part of
it never gets talked about. It never gets discussed. We
never talked about, Yeah, you know, why would you do that? Like, like,
why would you? It's the same thing with Deshaun Watson.
Everybody's parading around NFL media circles talking about how Deshaun

(47:24):
Watson's the victim and Deshaun Watson is so poorly treated
in Houston and my god, can somebody rescue him from
the diaper fire that is the Houston Texans. And it's like,
first of all, uh, he signed a contract. That's number one,
all right, but that's not even the the the biggest
part of the contract signing. He did it after they

(47:45):
traded DeAndre Hopkins because he was so upset about it. Secondly,
he did it and then cried and thanked all the
people that have been represented as terrible people within the organization,
Bill O'Brien, Jack Easterby mcnah air. He cried and thanked
all those guys. It was like this this sobbing mess
for Deshaun Watson. And then you know, three or four

(48:06):
months later, I gotta go. I'm totally disrespected, and everybody
parades around and celebrates the misery of Deshaun Watson and says,
oh my god, somebody rescue him. And so what does
DeShawn Watson do? Yeah, but you know, I'd be willing
to go here, here, here, and here. And it's like, dude,
if I'm a quarterback for one of those other teams,

(48:26):
I'm like, hey, man, uh, they got a guy, Like
we never talked about that. And that's what Dad Prescott's
agent to say. And he's like, man, like, Dallas has
a quarterback. Like, we're trying to get a deal done.
And you're out there going on the record, and it's
one thing if it's a rumor. And this is where
there is a little bit of a difference between Deshaun

(48:48):
Watson and Russell Wilson because the Deshaun Watson stuff. This
is being reported on by certain factions of the media
who have chosen to decide with Deshaun Watson, probably because
they think Deshaun Watson's gonna I like a bobblehead and
give it to their kid for free. So they think
if they kiss his ass, uh, and defend him in
this ridiculous trade request that that they're going to get

(49:10):
some sort of you know, a rub out of it
or something like. That's one thing. Russell Wilson's agent went
on the record to Adam Schefter and said, yeah, he'll
go to these teams Bears, Saints, Cowboys, Raiders. Well, if
i'm Dak Prescott and Derek Carr, I'm like, hey, what what?
What huh? Like hold on? I mean, if it's a

(49:35):
team that doesn't have a quarterback, I get it. But like,
Derek Carr's under contract there, he's there, So what are
you saying about me? I'm here, I had a good
year last year. I'm Derek Carr. What are you saying
about me? Dak Prescott's trying to get a deal done
after a catastrophic injury, and Russell Wilson and his agent
are like, yeah, but we'll go play there. It's like,

(49:56):
hold on a second, Like, if you think about it,
it's just it's disrespectful. It's it's it's classless, like you know,
they have somebody and still just so you can get
a little bit of leverage, you're gonna put it all
out there and you're gonna go on record for it,
and so Dak Prescott's agent, Todd frances Piste, He's like, look, man,

(50:20):
it's just it's it's not cool. And and I feel
a certain way about it because I'm very very sensitive
too something that somebody else has, all right, because I
would never do that, all right. True story. When I
started to hear Fox Sports Radio, this is a true story.

(50:41):
When I met with the bosses, I told them, you know,
I'm willing to take any job because I was desperate.
I had lost my job and Charles and I said,
I'll take anything part time, um, you know, fill in whatever, anything.
And I said, you know, you know, if it's if
it's the bottom of the bear, I I don't care

(51:02):
what it is. I'll take anything. I don't care about
being on air. I didn't care about anything. I just
wanted to foot in the door. But I specifically told
them this because I'm very very aware of this and
how this could come across to some people. I said, look,
I don't want to take anybody's job, but if something
were to become available, I'd love to be considered for

(51:25):
the opportunity. Those are my exact words. I don't want
to take anybody's job if something were to come available,
I'd love to be considered for the opportunity, word for word,
as with God is my witness. Because I don't like
the idea of I know somebody has that, and I'm
gonna still go over the top of them and say

(51:46):
I want that. It's disrespectful, totally disrespectful. Like I would
never say I want Ben Maller's job, Colin Coward, take
a hike, I want your I would never say that.
It's disrespectful. These guys have busted their ass, they're great
at what they do. It's totally disrespectful on me to
call out for jobs that are already taken. And you've

(52:08):
got Russell Wilson and his agent going on the record saying, yeah,
we'll go, we'll take Dallas, and you know what, like
they're like they're ordering a donut holes, like, yeah, you know,
we'll take a couple of those. We'll take Dallas. Give
us some give us some saints with the Sprinkles, the Bears,
you know who, the Raid. Yeah, oh, somebody already ordered
the Raiders. I forget about them. We'll take the Raiders
as well too. What are you doing and nobody talks

(52:31):
about it like it's so it's the one party, Like
nobody is talking about it, like Russell's saying, no, I'll
go here and I'll go there. And it's now you've
got former teammates that are calling them out. Get Michael
Robinson on the NFL network saying, dude, they they've they've
chosen you. It's the same thing I've been saying this
whole time. They've chosen Russell Wilson. Multiple times in Seattle,

(52:54):
have said, here are guy. All the other legion of
Boom guys, get out of here, Marshawn Lynch, get at here, Russell,
you're our guy. In fact, here's a contract and here's
another contract. You're our guy. And then he comes out
and pulls this crap this offseason. I'm telling you, man,
he looks bad. Like we can try and say he's
the greatest guy in the world and oh my god,

(53:15):
you know all the things like maybe maybe he's the
nicest human being in the world. All I know is
that if anybody's taken a pr hit this offseason, it's
Russell Wilson. Not even close, not even close. And it's
why I've thrown this out and I just wonder if
there's a text chain between the Legion of Boom members

(53:37):
and some of those guys from the Seahawks a few
years ago. And I wonder if they're hitting each other
back and forth over the past couple of weeks saying,
hey man, we tried to tell everybody this guy wasn't
who you all thought he was. We tried to tell everybody, alright,
we you know, I mean, how many Super Bowls since
the Legion of Boom left in Seattle? Just asking questions here,

(53:57):
But it's Russell Wilson calling for jobs that aren't available.
I I just I agree with Todd France like I
I'm not a fan of it. I don't like when
players do it. And yet here we are, and I'm
sure Russell Wilson's gonna get bailed out by people who go, oh,
but he's the nicest guy. He says, go Hawks at
the end of his interview. I'm not into it. Jonas

(54:18):

at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter.
As we company alive here from the Farmers Insurance Fox
Sports Radio Studios. All right, coming up next? Um, there
is a I'm trying to think how to how to
put this because I don't want I don't want to.
I don't want you to feel awful. But I'll just

(54:40):
say this. There's somebody in the NFL, al right, somebody
in the NFL who I don't want to say they've
been totally disrespected, but when you hear the company that
they're with now, it's hard to take it any other way.
Find out who we're talking about next year NFSR for Jonas.

(55:05):
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio company Alive here from the
Farmer's Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight
eight farmers to switch and you could save a bundle
on your auto insurance. We have a listen. Look, I've
told people this before. It's a weekend overnight. Sometimes the

(55:26):
crowd you get they can be very agitated. Sometimes they
can be very kind. More often than not, they're very agitated,
very bothered by things that are said on this show. Um,
you get a guy who writes in a man, this
is great. Uh. This guy rights in and he says, hey, dumbass,

(55:49):
it's not disrespectful for Russell to name Dallas as a destination.
This is sports dumbass. Your soft ass mentality is why
you're working weekends. Russ was a good guy when he
was reverse politically correct. Russ speaks out now and he's
cap hashtag magabias. Oh man, I don't even I don't

(56:24):
even know. I don't even know where to start, Like,
what the hell is magabias? I don't know what? Because
because Dak Prescott's agent is unhappy that Russell Wilson named
the Cowboys on record as the team he's willing to

(56:44):
get a trade too, because they're trying to work out
a contract with the Cowboys. And somehow that's maga. What
have people lost their vibes? Like that's right there is
when you go back the next day and read through
some of your stuff and go, oh jeez, I did that,
Like I I sort of got. I had a buddy

(57:06):
true story. He had this problem to where he would
go out and he'd get i mean mangled bombed. And
he never was out of control, like he would pick
fights with people or anything, but he had this really
really bad habit. He always started texting women when he

(57:29):
was drunk. Always, and look, it's two fifteen in the morning.
You haven't talked to the guy in three months and
the text comes through. It doesn't take a rocket scientist
to realize two plus two isn't ninety one? Al right, Like,
it's clear what's happening here. And he would just copy
and paste the same text to like five or six

(57:51):
different women in his phone, and it was a problem,
and the next day he'd have to apologize. There was
nothing graphic or anything like that, just hey, what are
you doing it? And it was so the next day
you have to apologize or you know, make up a
story as to why it happened. It was never believable.
And one night he told me he we were we
walked into a bar. We're having a couple of drinks.

(58:13):
It's you know, approaching midnight, and you know, we're feeling
good and everything's cool and we're having a good time.
And he hands me his phone and said, what's this.
He goes, hold on to it. He goes, it's going
to be one of those nights. I don't want to
do it anymore. It's okay, all right. So I literally
held onto his phone the entire night so that he

(58:35):
could resist the urge from texting random people that he
hadn't spoken to in months. At two fifteen to twenty
in the morning, seeing what they're up to. Literally handed
me his phone and said you just take it. I
don't want to. It's like it's like a guy who
has has drinks and he just hands his car keys
over and says, all right, I'm not driving. It's over.
Like the handed me his phone. Somebody should get this

(58:56):
guy's Twitter account, all right, he should hand it over
to somebody so that he can look back the next
day and go, well, I'm an idiot. I just uh,
I just went all in on something. It didn't even
have the fact straight. So just word of the wise. Uh,
at least go back the next morning, look at what
you wrote the night before, and then think to yourself,

(59:17):
how many less drinks could I have had to avoid
that situation in the future. Again, I'm just a word
of the wise. I'm simply trying to help out here
on Fox Sports Radio. All right, Jonas Knox here on
fs are, by the way, we are going to play
guests at garbage. It is NFL Trivia. NFL Trivia. It
is the hottest NFL trivia game anywhere on sports radio.

(59:37):
If you want to be a part of it. Eight
seven seven nine on Fox eight seven seven six six
three six nine. Guests. That garbage coming up next. We're
looking for the people with the guts. Whoever's got the balls.
If you want to be a star on national radio
and you know your NFL. Eight seven seven nine on

(59:59):
Fox is the phone number. Guests, that garbage coming up.
A little over five minutes from now here. On FSRUM,
we were talking about the Cam Newton situation. He signs
the contract with the New England Patriots. I'm happy for
the guy. Uh. I've become more of a Cam Newton
fan over the past couple of years than I ever

(01:00:19):
was previously. Like as his skills diminish and you get
to see the real, true character of a guy. I
become such a fan of Cam Newton's and I hope
it works. I really do, because that's a guy with
all the credentials, Uh that you superstar quarterback, made all

(01:00:40):
the money in the world, and he's now signed up
for year two at a bottom barrel discount at the
quarterback position just because he wants to play that bad.
He can walk away from the game. He's made his money, endorsements, contracts,
all that he's made his money. He could walk away
from the game, never play another snap. He'd be fine.

(01:01:02):
And a guy who is as successful as he is
off the field, he'll figure it out. Man, He's gonna
be fine. If you wanted to be an analyst somewhere.
Great talk or great personality, good dude, good looking guy. Fashion, Uh,
you know, all the He's got all the options in
the world. No, no, I want to play, and I
want to play there, in in frigid New England at

(01:01:25):
Foxborough for the coach nobody likes because he's too hard
on his players. I'll take it. I'll sign up for
a year two. I mean, he's got options. He cannot play,
he can be a backup somewhere else. No, no, no,
I'll play there. So I become more of a fan
of Cam Newton as time has gone on, more of
a fan of Cam Newton, especially over the past couple
of years. Here's something to think about. Though. There was

(01:01:48):
a time I don't know if you would call him
a Hall of Famer. I don't. I don't think Cam
Newton's a Hall of Famer, but there was a time
where he was on the trajectory of potential Hall of Famer,
especially during that m V p season to where you
looked at him and you know, a man, he wins
that super Bowl, puts together a couple of really good

(01:02:09):
years afterwards. It's at least worth a discussion. There's there's
at least a discussion to be had when it came
to Cam Newton, um and and a Hall of Fame,
And there's a lot of people who look at the
Hall of Fame and they go, this is how they
determine whether or not a guy as a Hall of Famer.
They say, can you tell the story of the NFL
without mentioning this player? And it's like, I don't know

(01:02:35):
that you can tell the story the NFL without mentioning
Cam Newton, honestly, because nobody else played the position like him,
Like nobody's done it the way he's done it. Well,
there's been another mobile quarterbacks, No, no, no, no, no, now.
Mobile quarterback is one thing. A locomotive at the position
is another. That guy welcomed collisions, He wanted it. It

(01:02:58):
wasn't It wasn't a matter of does he want the smoke? No, no, no,
he's taking the smoke from you. He that's what he
he has to have it. That's how he plays so
Cam Newton has played the position different than anybody else.
I don't think he ends up in the Hall of Fame.
I understand all that. But there's at least the discussion of,

(01:03:20):
you know, if we're gonna ask the question, can you
write the history of the NFL? I think he gotta.
You can't do it without Cam Newton because he's played
the position different than anybody else, has just different m
v P. A lot of credentials there. Here's here's the
thing about Cam Newton. All those credentials, right, all that
stuff that he's done in his career, all of it.

(01:03:43):
Cam Newton made less money last year than twelve backup
quarterbacks in the NFL. On't you just think about that?
Not starters. Twelve backups in the NFL last year made
more money than Cam Newton. To think about the And

(01:04:05):
here's the names. Here's some of the names for you.
Taysom Hill more money than Cam Newton. A J. McCarron
made more money than Cam Newton, case Keenum R G three,
Matt Shob Jordan's Love made more money than Cam Newton
last year. Colton McCoy, Matt Barkley, Chase Daniel, Jeff Driscoll,

(01:04:28):
Nate Sudfeld, who may or may not have gotten Doug
Peterson fired on national television, all made more money as
backups last year than Cam Newton. So I don't want
to hear any of this crap about well, no, he's
a he didn't jump on the loose ball and the

(01:04:49):
Super Bowl and so he doesn't care about the game. No, no, no, no.
Football is important to that guy, all right. When you've
got the resume that he does and the background that
he does, and you're rolling to take less money than
Nate effing Sudfeld to play in New England, I don't
want to hear it. I swear to you. I I've

(01:05:09):
become more of a Cam Newton fan over the past
two seasons than I did any of his seven or
eight seasons prior easy and I hope it works for
him next year in New England. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports

Thanks keV. Coming to you live here from the Farmers
Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios called one eight Farmers and

(01:07:17):
you could save a whole lot of something on auto
insurance coming up in fifteen minutes from now here on
fs ARE. I realized there's something that I cannot deal
with in the world of sports. I can't deal with
it like I legitimately can't see it, can't watch it,
can't deal with it. We'll tell you what that is
coming up fifteen minutes from now here on FS are

(01:07:38):
right now though, it's time for something we do on
the show, and it's called this Oh my god, what
the hell is that smell? These two teams flat out stinks.
It always has stunk. He stinks, stinks. He welcome to
the part of baby. How does that? It's guess that garbage?
And away we go guess that garbage here on Fox

(01:08:00):
Sports Radio, where we go around the country occasionally we
go even go around the world, and we see who
out there knows their NFL. Have you been paying close
enough attention to the National Football League? And if you have,
this should be a breeze over the past several days.
But for a lot of you, you're either drunk, stoned, tired,

(01:08:21):
or you get nervous because of the bright lights and
the big stage of a national radio show. So we
see who's got the the stones to want to be
a part of it again and we get things started
in Nashville. We're blind. Sea Bass is with us here
on Fox Sports Radio. Blind What's happening is still all right,

(01:08:46):
what are you drinking? Blind? I'm not, dude, I'm actually trying.
It's ober. I've had a hard two weeks. I've been
i ain't done it in a long time, but I've
been flash the last two weeks. Or ain't drinking anything tonight? Man? Alright, system,
all right, that's great. The sobriety is not as entertaining though,

(01:09:07):
So let's talk about what you've drank over the past
two weeks. What are we talking about here? I mean, like,
are we we talking like from the second you wake
up to the second you go to bed type drinking
or you get started at noon and moved forward? Like
what what kind of drinking are we talking about here?
Pretty much from time I wake up the time I
got a very good, very good and of course you
know moon John, of course it is. Why would it

(01:09:30):
be anything else? You know, like like why why would
it be anything outrageous? Like you know, a bud light,
you know, it's you gotta go straight to the moonshine.
So there it is, Blind Sea Bass in Nashville and
detox as he plays with this here on FS. Alright,
so Blind, here's the question I have for you. Alright, So,
Dak Prescott obviously gets the contract done. He signs the

(01:09:50):
big money deal with the Dallas Cowboys. My question for
you is this, of the three quarterbacks from the two
thousand sixteen draft class, who has the fewest career touchdown passes? So,
of these three quarterbacks, who's got the fewest career touchdown passes?
Is it Dak Prescott, Jared Goff or Carson Wentz? Mm hmmm,

(01:10:18):
I'm gonna say Carson. That is incorrect. It is Dak Prescott.
Dak Prescott the fewest career touchdown passes actually one less
than Jared Goff and seven less than Carson Wentz. So
all these guys pretty uh, you know, pretty neck and
neck when it comes to the TVs in their career.
Although Dak Prescott with the injury last year, he was

(01:10:41):
set up to have a monster year. So oh when
one but always good to hear from a sober, blind
Sea Bass in Nashville. Let's go to Paul, who's in
North Carolina listening here on Fox Sports Radio. Paul, what's happening? Hey,
what's in the glass? Paul? Forget about me? Nobody cares
about me. What's in the glass? What do we got
better a nice Jefferson Ocean aged bourbon. All right, you're

(01:11:04):
so fancy, man, you're so fancy. I mean some of
these people calling, they're drinking steel reserve out of a
out of a Dixie cup and you've got, you know,
always just like a fancy bourbon in your glass. Do
you do the do you have a couple of ice
cubes or do you have the one big ice ball
that you put in just the one nice big ice
cuban like they put in Rocks Class in this last,

(01:11:25):
all night long. Perfect, It's awesome. All right, So Paul's
in North Carolina having a drink. Now, Paula, here's a
question for you. So we just mentioned Dak Prescott touchdown
passes throughout the course of his career. My question for
you is this, who is the Cowboys? And I want
you to listen to all these options before you take
your guess. Who is the Cowboys all time leader in
touchdown passes? Is it Roger Stallback, Troy Aikman, Tony Romo,

(01:11:52):
Don Meredith or Don Martin. I'm gonna go with Roger Stack.
That is incorrect. Yet Tony Romo is the correct answer.
He is the correct answer. Uh. Most touchdown passes in
Dallas Cowboys history. He also now, in a weird twist,

(01:12:15):
has the least amount of show prep time for his
games at CBS. If anybody noticed that there? All right,
we move on from the great Paula, North Carolina to
the equally great cowboy in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Cowboy, talk
to me, what do we got like? A warning? Jones
World Early, Happy early sixty fifth birthday to my boy

(01:12:38):
Jamie Locks and leaving death buddies for forty one years.
He's two days younger than the great National League Dale
Murphy was sixty five on first day. And also let's
see Ron Jeremy the Hedgehog was sixty eight Thursday. But
since he might be going to prisons, uh, I don't
know whether he should have a happy birthday. You're not.

(01:13:00):
And Nicky Manteld's son Billy Manteld died in a drug
rehab placed March twelfth, thirty six, and his father died
about seventeen months later. And also best buddies Michael Caine
and Quincy Quincy Jones will be eighty eight tomorrow and
Steph Curry will be thirty three tomorrow. And of course

(01:13:22):
um worlder Thrill Clark is Happy fifty seventh birthday to
him and happy as sixty six birthday to former w
b C Badowy champion Hargane Luhan. Um, Cowboy listen, you know,
condolences to Um the Mantel family. Um. You kind of

(01:13:43):
threw me for a loop when you mentioned Ron Jeremy's nickname.
What's his nickname? Of a hitgehog. I'm not gonna ask
you why they call him that. Uh, what's pretty obvious,
pretty obvious when you when you take when you take
a look at him. Yeah, Mitt rom and Mitt Romney
h was on Thursday, by the way, of course, Sorry,

(01:14:04):
sorry to Mr Romney for getting buried with the lead
of Ron Jeremy's nickname. Interesting about that, Mr Romney, Yeah, listen,
it's all right. Romney. Big fan of the show here,
no doubt. Yeah, to listen, Cowboy, we're a big fan
of yours. Now speaking of cowboys all right now. Now,
a lot of people are big fans of the Dallas Cowboys.

(01:14:26):
I'm a big fan of Cowboy and Windsor. But we're
gonna match the two here on Fox Sports Radio. So
Cowboy the Dallas Defense. Last year in the NFL. They
allowed a lot of points, all right, they allowed a
lot of points last season in the NFL. In fact, Cowboy,
only four teams in the NFL allowed more points than

(01:14:46):
the Cowboys did a year ago. Named two of them.
One was the Lions, and I think one was the
Arizona Cardinals. Okay, because your Cowboy, you did get the Lions.
I'm gonna give you another guest to guess the second team.

(01:15:07):
Two of the four. Heck Um Jackson, that is correct,
Cowboy in Windsor, you are correct. Yes, the Lions, Jaguars, Raiders,
and Vikings were the only teams that allowed more points

(01:15:27):
last season than the Dallas Cowboys. A win for Cowboy
and Winsor and a win for us. Anytime you call in, Cowboy,
we appreciate it. Have a safe weekend, my man. Good talk.
All right. We transition from uh man, I needed dre
hold on a second, I need some coffee, hold on
trying to rise? Yeah, the hedgehog? Oh man, so good

(01:15:56):
it is. Well that's actually not let's staring um all right. Okay,
we move on from Cowboy and Windsor and we go
to Joey and Washington. Joey, what's happening. How are you doing, man,
just hanging out? What are you doing, Joey? Just relaxing
and enjoying the show? Well, we we appreciate you listening

(01:16:17):
to the show. Man. Now, I have a question for
you here. So there's a lot of rumors out there
regarding Russell Wilson. My question for using in this actually
should be easy for you. I think you're gonna get
this one. What what former Jets draft pick is the
Seahawks current backup quarterback to Russell Wilson? Is that Dre Prior?

(01:16:40):
That is incorrect. That's the wrong number. Geno Smith. Geno
Smith would be the correct answer. Geno Smith is your
correct answer. There. Finally, we go to one of our favorites.
He is Sir scratch Off in Arkansas. Sir scratch Up.
What's going on? Man? What are you doing? Man? I'm
gonna tell you something right now. I want you move
to real good. You have become one of my favorite

(01:17:03):
shows coming up svent teen years. I've been listening out
here over the point of years driving. I just think
it's cool when I found out about you the other day,
and I think you deserve it. I don't care if
anybody likes it or not, but I like you Jonas.
It didn't matter about to get on my nerves. Listen, sir,
scratch if. I'm a big fan of yours, and I
always tell you guys, hey, listen. Without you, guys, there

(01:17:27):
is no us. So I'm more appreciative of you than
than you should ever be at me. I'm a nobody.
I'm just talking into a microphone. Uh, just having some
fun here. But I appreciate you giving us a listen
because you guys are doing the real work. Man, So
you saying I want you quit saying you ain't a nobody.
But besides that, that cowboy him and oh what's his name? Uh,

(01:17:49):
oh my god, I forgot his name. But but anyway,
I think the world old cowboy, and I hope he's
out there listening. Monday night. I'm being because I'll be
turning fifty five years old to Mark, I'll be married
thirty years on the same day to nurse. And I'm
gonna tell you something. It wouldn't be a buch of
the honor to have John come on there, cowboys, hey man,
Happy birthday, search scratch off, happy there? It is so

(01:18:11):
cowboy and windsor if you're listening. All right, so uh
here we go. Let's let's get things started. Sir scratch
Off in Arkansas, We have one last question. We are
short on time. Here's the question for you, former number
one pick overall pick Eric Fisher, released by the Chiefs
earlier this week. What in Michigan school did Fisher play
his college ball at State? Incorrect? Central Michigan, Central Michigan

(01:18:38):
is the correct answer. And with that, a one and
four performance on this week's edition of Guests at Garbage,
but great to hear from the wonderful participants, Sir scratch Off,
one of our favorites. Hopefully we'll get a shout out
from Cowboy on Monday night on the Ben Miller Show.
All Right, Jonas Knocks here Fox Sports Radio, get me
on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks coming up. And next,

(01:19:00):
I've realized something. There's something that happens in sports and
I literally cannot watch it. I'm not kidding, I cannot
watch it. We'll tell you what that is next year.
N fs are Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio coming to
you alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Call Farmers Today for a quote. Um coming up in.

(01:19:21):
We will call it about ten minutes from now here
on fs are. There is uh, there's a funny thing
that is happening, and it's so obvious what somebody is
trying to do in the NFL. But you know, we
will we will shine a spotline on that coming up
ten minutes from now on. Fs are all right, So
we are awaiting. We have not heard the official results.

(01:19:42):
Joel Embiad suffered a hyper extended knee on Friday night,
obviously didn't return to the game, was helped off the floor,
and they're gonna do an m R. I and you
just wonder and wait what the status of Joel Embiad
is going to be coming up, and and if if
that news comes out during the course of the show,
I wouldn't expect it to. But if that news does
come out, um, we will have that for you here

(01:20:04):
on Fox Sports Radio. But they're gonna do the m R.
Either going to see the extent of the of the
knee injury. And I just realized something. I cannot watch
knee injuries. I can't do it. I physically and psychologically
cannot do it. I can't watch them. And I think

(01:20:25):
it's only because I suffered knee injury, so I dislocated
my kneecap. I tore a bunch of ligaments back years
and years ago, and ever since then, I just can't
see it and the only thing I could compare it to.
And I don't know if anybody else is like this,
but if you ever throw up or become sick after
eating a certain type of food, whether you had too

(01:20:46):
much to drink or whatever, there are some people who
they can just never have that food again because it
just every time they eat it, it reminds them of it.
It's like I cannot have restaurant case it is for
the rest of my life because like twenty years ago,
I had a restaurant case Adilla, got got way too
drunk and then I got sick later in the night,

(01:21:09):
and I could. I can just every time I smell
a caseity in a restaurant, it brings back those memories
and I get nauseous. I don't know why. And it's
like I can have one at home if if I
wanted to have a casey at home, no problem. It's
something about if you go to a restaurant, a Mexican restaurant,
the casey, I can't have it and my wife's Mexican. Look,

(01:21:30):
it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. And it's the same
thing with knee DRIs. Like they're showing the Joel Embiid
highlights and I get right into the last and I
can't watch it because it just brings back all these
memories of like, oh my god, I remember, I just
I remember the pain, the feeling of it. And for
Joel and beats sake, look, that's that's been the knock

(01:21:52):
on him, Like, that's that's been the Hey man, he
looks awesome, he's getting better and better. He's the MVP
of the league. He's really, you know, making an impact
on the NBA. But it's the injuries. It's where is
he gonna be at when it comes to the injuries
and his health and whatnot. And if he's not able
to stay healthy, it could change things entirely in the

(01:22:12):
Eastern Conference. Now, all of a sudden, Brooklyn looks like
they have no real threat. Now all of a sudden,
Milwaukee feels like they might have some hope. It's a
crazy set of circumstances for the Sixers. We got ourselves

(01:22:43):
a little bit of a pr spin in the NFL
we will get to the who's involved and why and
what evidence we have of it coming up here in
just a couple of moments from now, Jonas knocks Fox
Sports Radio you can hang out with us is always
on the I Heart Radio app. You can find us
on Sirius x M channel A D three and on
hundreds of Fox Sports Radio affiliates. Wherever you are taking

(01:23:06):

until six a m. Eastern time here on fs ARE
and we do it all live from the Farmers Insurance
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call one eight eight eight Farmers
to switch and you could save big on your auto insurance.
It's really the best thing you can do with a

(01:23:28):
phone in a few minutes. Just call one eight eight
eight Farmers and start saving today. We are farmers, So
it's it's funny. How um there You've got all these
residual effects of of the Dak Prescott contract and you can,
you know, put it in a lot of different directions

(01:23:49):
and go, well, the NFC East, what does it do
to the East? Was it due to quarterbacks moving forward?
Was it a bad deal? Was it a good deal.
There's a lot of people that have chimed in on this,
and the one thing that is clear, the one thing
that is obvious that we can all and if we
don't agree on whether or not Dak deserved the contract.
Like I've been I've been saying this for a couple

(01:24:11):
of years now, it feels like Dak Prescott is gonna
get paid. Like I don't know why people were continuing
to push back against it. He was gonna get paid,
Like this was gonna happen. This was going to happen.
So you can be angry at Dak Prescott or the
big angry at Dak Prescott, or the business of the
NFL whatever like like pick a card, any card, But
the bottom line is he was gonna get paid. This

(01:24:31):
was always going to be the end result. It just
was the way the NFL goes and it's it's the
way that Dak Prescott was set up. So be angry
about it, be frustrated, call it a bad contract, called
whatever you want. Say Dak Prescott doesn't deserve it, Say
he's not that good. Uh, you know, they're not gonna
get their money's worth. They're not gonna win a Super
Bowl that's fine. Say whatever it is that you want.

(01:24:54):
This was going to be the end result. He was
going to get a big contract, and the longer that
the Dallas Cowboys waited, the higher the price tag was
gonna be. I mean, this was always going to be
the end results. So don't be surprised by the ending.
Don't be upset by the ending. You had warnings, you
were told everybody tried to get Like listen, don't judge

(01:25:17):
him based on his accomplishments. Judge him based on the
business of the NFL. That's how this stuff works. Thus,
Dak Prescott gets paid. But the one thing we can
all agree on, the one thing we can all agree on.
If we don't agree on the Dak Prescott contract, the
one thing we can't agree on. Man, Jerry Jones is
trying to spin this in a positive way about him,
who they are working overtime on Jerry Jones pr staff.

(01:25:42):
I mean over time. But here's the thing. Jerry Jones
said something, and I thought I had deja vu. Like
I thought I had deja vu because he said something
this week and dejav who is a weird thing, Like
I don't even know. I haven't spent the time to
look into what deja vu actually is. But I do

(01:26:04):
believe there's a real thing, because something will happen and
I go, man, I dreamt that, or I feel like
I've been here before and maybe there's like some alternate
universe or it was a past life that I'm really like.
I have no idea. Maybe it's like something better served
on you know, if they ever bring back the show
The Leftovers on HBO, they ever bring that show back,
maybe they can take a dive into deja vu and

(01:26:25):
what the hell it is. But I felt like I
had some deja vu because Jerry Jones said something. So
I want to play you what Jerry Jones said, and
then I want to tell you where my deja vu
was when he said this. Here was Jerry talking about
signing Dak Prescott. If there's a human breathing that I've
ever met that, I'm proud that took advantage of me financially,

(01:26:48):
I'm proud. It's one sitt into the ricket. Most anything
that I've ever been involved in that ended up being
special over they for every time to the end. Any
time I've tried to get a bargain, I got just
that it was a bargain in a lot of ways

(01:27:11):
and not up to standard. Huh, it's it's weird. So
he said, I play that second clip again because I
feel like that's where the deja bukins, And like, where
have I heard the play the second clip again? If
most anything that I've ever been involved in that ended
up being special, I overpaid for every time to the end,

(01:27:38):
any time I've tried to get a bargain, bargain I
got just that it was a bargain in a lot
of ways and not up to standard. Okay, see all right,
So I think that I've identified it all right, because
this is where my deja boo takes me, all right,
because because for some reason I recognized this quote from
Jerry Jones, this is where the deja voo takes me.

(01:27:59):
When I look back on my life, I overpaid for
my big successes every time, and when I tried to
get a bargain, get a little cheaper, or get a
better deal on it, I ended up usually either getting
it and not happy I got it, or missing it,
and I probably should have overpaid. Here. Oh that was
Jerry Jones after they missed out on Paxton Lynch in

(01:28:22):
Sorry I'm sorry. I'm sorry about that. I'm just wondering.
I just wondering where I heard that from. Oh, that's
where it was seen Jerry Jones after they missed out
on Paxton Lynch because Denver jumped him in the first
round to take Paxton Lynch. When I looked back on
my life, I overpaid for my big successes every time,

(01:28:45):
and when I tried to get a bargain, get a
little cheaper, get a better deal on it, I ended
up usually either getting it, not happy I got it,
or missing it. And I probably should have overpaid. Here
that was one more time. Let's hear the second clip
five years later. Most anything that I've ever been involved
in that ended up being special, I overlaid every time

(01:29:10):
to the end. Anytime I've tried to get a bargain
that it was a bargain in a lot of ways
and not up to standards. So and the reason I
bring this, and I like Jerry Jones, but the reason
I bring this up is because there's this constant spin.
I'm like, well, you know, I mean, I'm happy that

(01:29:32):
this happened, and you know, I'm like, dude, no, like,
can we just let's call this what it was if
we're believing the reports, and there were so many different
reports that came out, all right, so many different reports.
All right, if you just look at the Dak Prescott contract.
All right, let's let's go ahead and let's think back
to all the reports that we heard. All Right, what
do we hear? All right? We heard that the sticking

(01:29:56):
point for the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott was the
length of the contract. That Dallas wanted a five year deal,
Dak Prescott wanted a four year deal. What did they
end up with a four year deal? Okay? Advantage Dak
al r Right, So so you get the the length
of the contract you wanted. Then we heard, um, it
was about the guarantees. Dak Prescott wanted to end up

(01:30:19):
with more guarantees than the guys in his draft class,
guys like Carson Wentz and Jared Goff. Well, they were
around a hundred and ten million dollars in guarantees. So
you would figure, okay, if that's the case, we'll give
you a hundred and eleven million dollars guaranteed. No no, no,
no no, he got one twenty six guaranteed. Okay again,
advantage Dak Prescott. All right, so so what about the

(01:30:41):
like the actual annual value of the contract? Alright, so
like like annual value of the contract. Uh, we were
hearing that that Dallas was offering thirty one million and
the Dak Prescott and then we're asking for thirty five.
So maybe you split the difference and you give them
thirty three. And then we were hearing, all right, well

(01:31:01):
the floor is the franchise tag at thirty seven, so
maybe you just come over the top at thirty eight.
Where did they end up with forty advantage? That like
it is I mean like Jerry Jones can try and
once he can try and spin this and and talk

(01:31:21):
about all of the and and you talk about it, well,
you know anything I overpaid for And it's it's the
same line he used when he missed out on Paxston Lynch.
And it's like you're using that analogy here and then
you're using the same analogy five years ago with Paxston.
It's like, dude, just say it. You got worked over
in the negotiations. That's what happened. It's obvious Jerry Jones

(01:31:47):
got worked over in the in the negotiations. And here's
the thing. There's nobody to blame except for the Dallas Cowboys.
I at nauseum have said this probably a dozen times.
Nobody in the NFL other than the Dallas Cowboys would

(01:32:07):
have a quarterback and a running back and a wide
receiver up for contracts and take care of the quarterback. Last.
Nobody would do that. Dallas did, Jerry Jones did. It
didn't make sense, none of it made sense. And they
kept waiting and waiting. And while they were waiting, another
quarterback would sign, and then another one was signed, and

(01:32:29):
then another one would say. And it's like, man, when
you finally get around painting yourself into a corner, when
you can no longer, it's like you're waiting, It's like
sooner or later, like what are we doing here? It's
like you're sitting in Everybody has done this in Vegas.
Every if you've ever gambled in Vegas, you've done this before.
You're sitting at the table, you're playing a game, or

(01:32:52):
you're playing a slot machine, and you get up a
little bit and you start having some success, and then
you start losing a little bit, and you know you
should walk away, because say you put in a twenty
dollar bill and you're up to a hundred bucks and
all of a sudden you lose a little bit, and
you lose a little bit, and then you're back down
to sixty bucks, and then you get down to like,

(01:33:13):
you know, forty dollars, and then you tell yourself, all right,
I put in twenty. I'm gonna walk away with thirty.
So I'll play all the way until I'm down to
thirty dollars and then I walk away. And then four
minutes later you're putting in another twenty because you lost
it all you just like you couldn't take advantage of
it when you had the opportunity. And that's what happened

(01:33:33):
with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. You had an opportunity
to get Dak Prescott under contract for like twenty eight
to thirty million dollars a season. You want to save
twelve million bucks a year, and the guarantees wouldn't have
been anywhere close to this anywhere. And here's the other
part of what has changed? Well, you know we needed

(01:33:55):
to see more from Dak Prescott. What's changed? Like, tell
me what has changed since you had your first opportunity
to sign him to Now? If anything, now would be
the time when you would look back and go, all right, well,
now we're really not sure because he just he just
suffered a major injury the first of his career. So

(01:34:17):
not only did he get way over what they were
reportedly asking for, but he got all of it length
of the contract, the guarantees, and the annual value value
of the contract, all after a catastrophic injury. There's no
other way to spend this. There's no literally, no other

(01:34:37):
way to spit it. So when Jerry joes Is reaching
into the holster for the whole you know, anything I
overpaid for, you know, any bargain, it's like, dude, I
remembered that because you said the same thing when you
whipped on Paxton Lynch. And now you're trying to apply
to Dak Prescott, who ironically was the quarterback you ended
up taking in that draft. Like, there's just there's no

(01:34:58):
other way to We can disagree on the Dak Prescott
contract and whether he earned it, and whether or not
he's a Super Bowl quarterback or a top five quarterback,
or you should be the highest paid. We can argue
all day and night about that. One thing. Nobody can
argue Jerry Jones got worked in these negotiations, all right,
and that bit of deja vu proves it. Jonas Knocks,

(01:35:20):
Fox Sports Radio. Get me on Twitter at the Jonas
Knocks at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter as we come
to you Alive here from the Farmers Insurance, Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Coming up next year on fs ARE, there
is a stat regarding a quarterback in the NFL that
you've probably maybe heard a little bit about it before,

(01:35:44):
but when I break it down like this, it's pretty jarring.
Find out who we're talking about next year on Fox
Sports Radio. My back is drenched in sweat. Somebody's got
to figure it out. Jonas knocks, Fox Sports Radio, Company
Alive from the Farmer Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios. Call
one eight eight Farmers to switch and you could save

(01:36:06):
a bundle on your auto insurance. We do have a
major update here on a social media This is a
a big, big deal. Um. I received, uh, well, a
couple of heads up here all right, the first one
which is not as important as the second one. Here
on on Fox Sports Radio. I received a tweet from

(01:36:30):
somebody who said, uh, Jonas is always kudos on your show.
Prep for all aspects of each segment. You are such
a wonderful improviser and have such a quick wit, you
could pull off a stunningly great show, but just by
winging it. By the way, and I can't read that
last part, but never, that's not the important part. The

(01:36:52):
important part is that was from a Twitter account called
live bet Jonas. All right, I have no idea who
that is, but layered in sarcasm there, which I appreciate.
So that's the least important of the major Twitter updates.
Here's the really important one. Kevin figures are national update anchor?
Are you with us here on Fox Sports Trading? What

(01:37:13):
do we got? So? Now you heard last hour Cowboy
and Windsor mentioned Ron Jeremy's birthday and called him the
human Hedgehog. Right, Yeah, there's been a Twitter account created
at Hedgehog underscore Cowboy, don't waste any time. We did

(01:37:35):
not it is uh now, the the body is not
cold that segment, but yes, it's a easier stated at
Cowboy Hedgehog is where you can where you can find
this Twitter account, but it has been created. So if
this is a big, big show so far, we have
just now figured out to parody accounts here within the

(01:37:57):
last five minutes. Major development here the profile description described
as complete badass. That's what Cowboy edge shog. I'll be
honest with you, and I feel like I disrespected Mickey
Mantle because Cowboy was reading off it was the anniversary
of with Mickey Mantle's son passed away, but I was still,

(01:38:18):
uh feeling the reverberations from Cowboy calling Ron Jeremy the
human Hedgehog, so it kind of threw me for a loop.
You know, I didn't really know how to respond, So
I feel like I didn't mourn properly the the death's
portion of Cowboys update. Well, you know, Sonic has nothing
on Ron Jeremy. He does, apparently not. I did not

(01:38:38):
know that that was Ron Jeremy's day, and I don't
even want to know why they call well hafittely timed
as well, considering what's coming up in a few minutes here,
So that is true. Yeah, Pro Wrestler or Porn Star
is coming up ten minutes from now eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
six three six nine. Pro Wrestler or Porn Star is yours.

(01:38:59):
That's coming up less ten minutes from now on Fox
Sports Radio, We're looking for two participants, two brave souls
who want to be a part of the Hottest Game
Show Anywhere on Sports Radio eight seven seven on Fox.
Pro wrestler porn Star coming up. All right, I am
going to read to you all right, So for the
people listening here, I'm not a big fan of stats

(01:39:20):
on radio. I think it's confusing and kinta throw you
off a little bit. So I don't like to read
a lot of numbers. It is like, like I I
got great advice on Time they said, stories, not stats.
All right, come on, tell us a story. Don't read
a bunch of numbers that I can read in a
box score and some newspaper on a website somewhere, Like,
tell me a story. But sometimes if I, if I

(01:39:41):
do have some surprising numbers for you, I want to
at least prepare you so you're so you can you
mentally you're ready to take all these in, alright, So
just mentally prepared to take all these stats in. Right.
These are stats of a future Hall of Fame quarterbacks career.

(01:40:02):
Al right, So I just want you to take all
these in. They're pretty impressive, right, this quarterback one well
over seventy of his games. This quarterback made the playoffs
every single season, including three Super Bowl appearances and two

(01:40:25):
Super Bowl wins. Right, so think about this again. One
over well over seventy of his games, made the playoffs
every single season, made three Super Bowl appearances, and won
two Super Bowls. That, right, there is a Hall of
Fame career. Yeah, those are Tom Brady stats after the

(01:40:48):
age of forty. After the age of forty, those are
Tom Brady stats, not for his entire career after he
turned forty. Think about that, like you hit forty years old.
Oh my god, there's no way this guy is gonna
be like like Ben Roethlisberger's not forty and it looks

(01:41:10):
like he's being held together by duct tape and uh
and the lamp from a Christmas story, Like literally, like
he's not even forty. Tom Brady after forty has won
well over seventy of his games, been to the playoffs
every single year, including three Super Bowl appearances and two
Super Bowl wins. After the age of forty. Like I've

(01:41:33):
said it before, Brady's got to Hall of Fame careers.
If you split his career down the middle, both are
Hall of Fame careers. Now we're to the point to
where if you just took his career after forty on
its own, it's a Hall of Fame career. That's crazy.

(01:41:53):
And so when you see him take the discount that
he took, or I don't know if you want to
call it a discount, but you know, he he he
extended his contracts so he could free up the nineteen
million dollars in cap space and all like, when when
you see that, you know he's giving himself and his
team the opportunity to only add to those stats. Because

(01:42:17):
the one thing you can say about Brady is you
can said, well, he could have made more money throughout
the course of his career. Okay, that that's fine, But
you know the one thing he's not going to have
when he leaves the NFL, he's not gonna have any regrets.
He will have no regrets whatsoever because he knows he
gave himself every single opportunity to play because he realized

(01:42:41):
the older I get, the more help I need, and
the way I can get more help is by taking
less money. So he's gonna be able to whenever he
walks away from the NFL he's going to be able
to walk away and have zero regrets because he knows,
at least I gave it my all. I've always said this,
you can't control anything other than the effort you put

(01:43:06):
into it. But if you look back on something and go, man,
I could have done this, I should have done that,
I had an opportunity to do this, that's when regret
sets in, and that's when you have to live with
that for the rest of your life. But if you
put yourself in the best position to succeed and it
doesn't work out, at least you can know, hey, I
put myself in the best possible position for it to

(01:43:28):
happen and it just didn't work out. Tom Brady at
the very least can say I put myself in the
best position possible and if what I end up with
is only one super Bowl in Tampa Bay, that's fine.
At Lastia doesn't have to live with any regrets. But
that is crazy, man, those that's just after the age
of forty. Insane. What that guy has done in his

(01:43:50):
NFL career. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio, Get me on

lots of conference tournament action. In college hoops, you had

Luca Garza scoring twenty four leading Iowa to a Big

Ohio State, Michigan, and Illinois with victories. In the SEC.
Alabama steam rolled Mississippi State, Tennessee with a victory over Florida,
wents for Arkansas in l s U. Oklahoma State handed
Baylor just their second loss of the season in their
Big Twelve semifinal wins for Colorado and Oregon State in

(01:44:34):
the pexswell Florida State beating North Carolina in an a
CC semifinal. Georgia Tech advanced to the final after Virginia
had to forfeit due to a positive COVID test. In
the NBA, you're at the Lakers, notching a one oh
five to one victory over Indiana Kyle Kuzmo with a
game high twenty four points, where I should say team
highs twenty four points. L A will be without Anthony
Davis for at least two more weeks as he continues

(01:44:55):

extended his left knee in the six was victory over Washington.
He will receive an m r R later today. NICOLEA Yoki,
just missing out on a triple double as he led
Denvert to a one oh three to one or two

Jazz in San Antonio spurs back to Jonas knocks. Thanks Cap, Sorry, keV,

(01:45:17):
I was taking a sip out of my atrocious coffee.
It's quite all right. It's as bad as it could
possibly get it. It's not good. This is just awful. Cough.
At the risk of sounding racist, over, what do we
got here? Dark roast, light roast? What are we doing?
Why is it always got to turn into race? Well,
you know, it's just I felt I was going to
ask legitimate questions. Well, I thought i'd get ahead of
it because I knew if I asked that question, your

(01:45:37):
response was going to be, I don't know why everything
has to be race, Kevin. Well, listen, I couldn't appointed
either way. Jonas it seems like, all right, I like
my coffee black. Okay, yeah, hands down the greatest cracker
of all time. Okay, hold on one second, ald on it.
That is that is so unfair. That is a misrepresentation.
I was talking about cheese. It's I was not to

(01:45:59):
know it. I don't even know why. There's just there
is just a yeah, and like you can't say anything
of this because somebody's gonna steer to do a ditch somewhere.
That's unbelievable. We're talking crackers. Who cares when we listen.
Not everything's racist. We are not calling basketball games in Oklahoma,

(01:46:23):
all right. Not everything is racist here. But what an
idiot that guy that was not a context doing dude.
And then and then you blame it on low blood
sugar like what like like I like there's been like
you know, dog ate my homework kind of stuff before,
like excuses, like we've heard all sorts of excuses, but
low blood sugar like that results and you like using

(01:46:47):
a racial wait what like what does this mean? Now?
I don't unders like now we have to go back
in time and go, oh my god, well so and so,
well maybe he wasn't actually a racist. He just had
diabetes and it was undiagnosed. Because that what we're taking
this whole thing. It's it's literally a Snicker's commercial. When
you think about it, it's not you when you're hungry. Yeah,

(01:47:11):
I don't. It's very very bizarre. Um. All right. By
the way, we are Company Alive, and I like to
talk to you for a few minutes about diabetes. First
of all, First of all, there's a difference between diabetes
and diabetes. Yeah, and let's not let's not cross the
streams here. I will not let the Star of Cocoon
and be involved in this racial controversy. I'm not gonna

(01:47:32):
let that happen. Alright, I'm not gonna let that happen.
All right. We are Company Alive from the Farmer's Insurance
Fox Sports Radio Studios called one eight eight eight Farmers

math to guess that day it is that time pro

(01:49:21):

Now what is it? Yeah, listen, we got you again.
You can't say that, yeah, yeah, alright there, all right,

(01:50:25):
let's go to uh Eric, who's in Arkansas here on
Fox Sports. Tradier Eric, what's happening? Just die and laughing
with the show? Good job to night. Well listen, man,
we appreciate you hanging out with us here on FS.
Al Right, now you are you guys ready to play
this game? You're ready to have a little bit of
fun here, let's do it. I will alight, alright, alright,

(01:50:47):
So we got Mark and Riverside, we got Eric and Arkansas,
and you guys are. Here's how it works, guys, I'm
gonna give you a name. You have to tell me
whether or not it's the name of a pro wrestler
or a porn star. If you're tied at the end
of this list, we go to sudden death overtime. So
it's very easy to understand, very easy to play, and
if you want to play along at home, you can
do so and tweet me afterwards at the Jonas Knocks

(01:51:08):
on Twitter to play the at home version here um,
let us know how you do, all right, So we'll
get things started with Mark in Riverside here on Fox
Sports Radio. Mark, first name up for you, sir here
on Pro Wrestler porn Star is Melody Landers pro wrestler,
porn Star. That is correct. Very confident. I can already
get the name out and uh and Mark is already

(01:51:30):
on the board. We go over to Eric in Arkansas
here on Fox Sports Radio. Eric, the name for you,
sir is Monica Maple pro wrestler or porn star got star.
That is correct. Seemed very obvious there, So you guys
are red hot to start here on porn Star. So

(01:51:51):
we go over to wuys. Is that Rob Parker chiming
in again? He can't get it up of this show?
Type pans tighter pants? Okay, very good, Very good? All right.
We go back over to Market Riverside here on Fox
Sports Radio. Mark. The next name up for you, sir
here on Pro Wrestler porn Star is King James pro Wrestler.

(01:52:18):
That is incorrect. Now King James is a porn star.
So we go back over to Eric in Arkansas here
on Pro Wrestler porn Star. Eric in Arkansas, you can
break the tie here on Fox Sports Radio. The name
for you, sir is Tara Rising, pro wrestler, porn star.

(01:52:40):
That sounds like a wrestler. That is correct. Is that
is correct? Terrorizing is a wrestler in fact that it
was Steaken. Terrorizing was Triple H is old ring name,
so the the Great Triple H. That was his name
long long ago, Terrorizing. So Eric and Arkansas has a
two onely Mark and Riverside looking to close the gap

(01:53:05):
here on Fox Sports Radio. Mark, the name for you,
sir is Riley Page pro wrestler or porn star, porn star.
That is correct. Riley Page is a porn star short
short and you are pack on the board here on
pro wrestler or porn star. So we go back over

(01:53:26):
to Eric in Arkansas. We're all tied up here. Eric.
The name I just gave Mark and Riverside was Riley Page.
The name I've got for you, sir, is Hangman Page,
pro wrestler, porn star, porn star. That is incorrect, incorrect

(01:53:50):
byball game. Yeah. See, um, I can understand why you
would see the name Hangman Page and think porn star.
But it but if we're in the past, tense if
you know what I mean, then I can understand it
more so. So it's again very tricky. But you know,
because it's present tense and not past tense. If you

(01:54:11):
know what I mean, um, then you know it's a
little bit more difficult to make that happen. All right,
So we go back over to Mark in Riverside. Here
on pro wrestler or a porn star, Mark, the name
for you to break the tie here on pro Wrestler
or a porn star is Buddy Colt. Pro wrestler, a
porn star. That is correct. That is correct, by the way,

(01:54:36):
Buddy Colt. That is a anytime a professional wrestler or
even a porn star passes away recently, we try and
pay tribute to them. So Buddy Colt passed away recently
according to reports. So there's our tribute here on Pro
Wrestler a porn star. So we go back over to
Eric and Arkansas. We are we've got a tight one here,
Eric and Arkansas. You've got to tie things up here.

(01:54:56):
If you get this correct, it is a tie game.
Eric in Arkansas. The name for you here on Fox
Sports Radio is Joey Mag's Pro Wrestler, a porn star
porn star. That is incorrect. Joey Mag's is a pro wrestler.

(01:55:18):
So we go back over to Mark in Riverside. Now, Mark,
here's the situation. If you get this correct. Yeah, if
you get this correct, it's over all right. You have
won the game and Eric cannot possibly win. But if
you miss, you open the door to Eric to be
able to tie the game and force over time. So
it's all on the line here for Mark in Riverside,

(01:55:38):
who can close it out here on pro wrestler or
a porn star. So Mark and Riverside to win the game.
The name for you, sir is can I give the
name all right? Lucy Legs pro wrestler or porn star

(01:56:00):
pro wrestler. That is incorrect. That is in Lucy Legs
is a porn star. So now you have opened the
door to Eric and Arkansas, who can tie the game
and force sudden death overtime. Eric and Arkansas, you have
an opportunity to tie it. Here. The name for you, sir,

(01:56:21):
to tie it and force over time is Corporal Cajun
pro wrestler, a porn star couple Cajun. Let's go with
porn star that is incorrect, and with that Mark in

(01:56:44):
Riverside survives and he wins pro wrestler or porn star
down to the wire and it was a miss by Eric.
But Mark, congratulations, you are a pro wrestler, a porn
star champ coming to through the back door there, very good,
very classic. Yeah you two man, classy guy. Margaret gonna

(01:57:05):
let you go because we don't want to get thrown
off the air anymore, so I gotta let let to
Marco immediately. Alright, to Eric in Arkansas, we appreciate a
good sport. Unfortunately came up short. There no pun intended
uh in a pro wrestler, porn star Kevin short of short?
Uh Kevin Corporal Cajun. Okay, but that's there's no possible

(01:57:29):
way anybody would think that's a porn start. No, I
don't know how you would believe that what we crossed
your mind? What? First of all, corporal Cajun, it sounds
like there's like a copyright issue with Sergeant Slaughter. So
just like, can we get to yeah, that's corporal cagn
That just sounds like old school w c W is
when it sounds like it's the way that's a porn star.
Come on now, even know how that gimmick would work

(01:57:51):
in the terror terrorizing. It's not bad, not bad at all.
That's great. Yeah. I also looked it up. Apparently there's
like three different spellings with three different iteration of terror
rising before became triple h. Yes, yeah, he he he
had to modify that a few times and then look
hangman page. Look again if it was if it was

(01:58:13):
past tense, if you know what I mean, you know,
like like like if you didn't, you know, hang your decorations,
you hung your decorations, then I could understand why it
makes so much more sense. Yes, but it's not. Therefore
it's a pro wrestler. So the Lucy Legs as well,
that's that's another strong one. I don't know why you

(01:58:36):
think that would be your professional Lucy Legs. By the way,
I don't even know who that is. There's no shot
in hell Lucy Legs is under five ten, no shot.
Otherwise it doesn't make sense, you know, like like I
wouldn't imagine like a human booie just showing it like
there's like, it wouldn't make sense. You gotta be five

(01:58:57):
ten and above. If Legs is the last name, there
has to be. I would think, But again I don't.
I don't look that stuff up. All right, it is
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up next here on
fs ARE. Somebody has outdone me, completely outdone me. There's
a major story that could develop in the world of sports.
I have been outdone. We'll talk about that next yere

(01:59:18):
on fs ARE. It's Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio comany
Alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios called
Farmers Today for a quote. Ten minutes from now here
on fs ARE, there was a movement in the NFL.
We'll tell you why it makes sense that coming up
ten minutes from now here on fs ARE. Um. By

(01:59:43):
the way, I was talking about this Joel embiid injury.
So Joel embat suffered hyper extended knee. We don't have
a report. They're gonna do an m r I and
then they'll wait to see what the results of the
m r I are, you know, and we don't have
those results yet. Obviously it was a Friday night, but
the results should I would assume come out this weekend

(02:00:03):
because we're gonna try and find out this significance of
the knee injury for Joel EMBIID, and I was saying, like,
I can't because I injured my knee. I can't watch
knee injuries anymore. It's like I can't have case ad
eas anymore because I had one when I was younger
at a Mexican restaurant and then I got sick later
on because I drank too much, and because of that,

(02:00:25):
it ruined case ads for the rest of my life.
And then I was topped because Holly writes in and
says I had a three cheese sub at unnamed us,
a sandwich shop that I used to really love, but
then I she got sick in the kitchen sink and
she hasn't been able to go near it since. So

(02:00:45):
right when I thought, hey man, you know, I was
simply trying to share my story, she's got to now
embark on a what did you do in your kitchen
sink with the food you just date? Uh, you know? Mission?
And so there's that. So now everybody's stick to their stomach.
I probably shouldn't have read that on the air, but
I did anyway, So there we go. I would do
want to welcome to the crew here on Fox Sports Radio,
Kevin figures Bo Benson Chris Perfett. You guys know the

(02:01:10):
the Lincoln commercials by Matthew McConaughey. You know those commercials. Yeah,
like those things like you guys, you guys have seen
those right for Lincoln. Alright, that's an awful impression. But
you know what I'm talking about, Well, there's somebody else
who's in the media who is now doing Lincoln commercials.

(02:01:32):
And I swear to christ I know it because I
saw it this week. You guys get one guess each
who in the media, think anchor, thinkum non sports, but
a well known person in the media, not a celebrity,
but somebody in the media who is now doing a

(02:01:55):
Lincoln commercial. Kevin Figures first guest, Anderson Cooper, very good, guess,
bo Benson, take a guess. L a legend Dallas Reines
very good. Uh, Chris perfect. I'm gonna go with the
legendaryes Home broke Law. All of those are very good guesses.

(02:02:15):
By the way, little disrespectful that Kevin didn't say Fred Rogan,
but we're just we're gonna let that slide. Uh. The
correct answer is Jim Cantori. Yeah, the the meteorologist to
the stars. He is the Chris Berman of the Weather Channel.
No joke, Jim Cantori, he's got a Lincoln commercial. I'm

(02:02:37):
not even making this up and driving the rain. No,
but he literally to where he describes where he grew
up and he lays back in a Lincoln and he
looks up at the snow. I've never seen anything like it.
Jim Cantori. Al Right, I love Jim Cantori, but I mean,
Jesus Christ, a Lincoln commercial, for God's sakes. So Jim Cantori,
Matthew McConaughey the same guy. So there was a move

(02:03:00):
made in the NFL, and a lot of people are
asking the question why. We will try and answer that
coming up here in just a couple of moments from now,
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with
us is always on the I Heart Radio app. You
can find us on Sirius XM channel A D three
and on all of our Fox Sports Radio affiliates. Whoever

(02:03:23):
you are taking part in the program, we appreciate you
doing so. Hanging out here on a beautiful Saturday morning
or look, it still could be well, I guess it's
not technically Friday anymore in Hawaii, but whatever the case
may be, Welcome in to your Saturday as we get
things started here and do it all live from the
Farmers Insurance. Fox Sports Radio Studios called one eight eight

(02:03:46):
eight Farmers to switch and you could save on your
auto insurance. What else are you gonna do with your
phone for the next few minutes? Look at pictures of
food your friends eight again call one eight eight eight
Farmers for a quote. We are farmers. So the move
in the NFL, the one that was the big story

(02:04:06):
in the NFL on Friday was the decision for Cam
Newton and the Patriots to run it back. For Cam
Newton to not even really ponder or look around or
see what's out there via free agency, Cam Newton said,
screw it all come back. Reports of the contract contract
for Cam Newton are a one year deal with incentives

(02:04:30):
that could be upwards of fourteen million dollars, but it's
around eight to nine million dollars worth of incentives baked
into the contract, so in essence, it's like five and change.
It's like five million change for Cam Newton um and
then and then we get to whatever it's it's going
to be, depending on what you know. He meets and

(02:04:50):
what he accomplishes this year. And here's the thing. And
I was saying this earlier, I don't know whether or
not it's gonna work. I really don't, um, I don't,
I have no clue, but I'm hoping that it works.
I'm hoping that it works for Cam Newton because I
think he has shown over the past couple of years
this guy just wants to play, man, He just wants

(02:05:12):
to play. We talked about it earlier. Cam Newton a
year ago. This is m v P Cam Newton. This
is had his team in a super Bowl, Cam Newton.
This is superstar quarterback Cam Newton. A year ago in
New England. He made less money than twelve backups in

(02:05:34):
the NFL, like not twelve started twelve backups in the NFL.
And I understand, while you know he didn't play all
that well, I get it, man, there were some real
doozies in there. They couldn't throw the ball downfield. Looks
like his arms started giving him problems again. Then he
had the bout with COVID. But the one thing I've
liked about Cam Newton is that he's humbled himself. If any,

(02:05:56):
if any quarterback could come in and say, man, I'm
not playing for that. I'm not gonna come in and
play for that much money. No, no, no, no, I'm
Cam Newton. That's not happening. If any quarterback could pull
that card, Cam Newton is the guy who could pull
that card. He's the guy who could say no, no, no, no, no, no,
you're not running that by me. I'm not playing for

(02:06:18):
scratch And obviously it's not scratched to you and I,
but scratch in in in the big picture of the NFL.
I'm not gonna come play for a million and change.
I'm not gonna play on a fourteen million dollar contract.
But nine of the fourteen million is is incentive based
not doing it, not doing it. But he is and

(02:06:39):
not only did he do it a year ago, he
signed up for seconds. So he's coming back around and
wanting to do it again. And I commend him for it. Man,
Like all the negativity, all the talk about he's a
diva and he cares about his fashion and he didn't
dive on a loose ball in the Super Bowl and
he walked out on the Super Bowl press conference. All
that stuff, that negative stuff a year about Cam Newton. Man,

(02:07:00):
I don't want to hear anybody tell me ever again
that guy doesn't love football. Don't ever tell me again
that guy's not committed to football. He's showing you. Some
people say they are, Cam Newton's actually showing you he is.
And so I think it's fantastic. I think good for
Cam Newton, good for the Patriots, and I'm hoping that

(02:07:20):
it works. I really am. I'm I am rooting for
Cam Newton to work in New England, especially this upcoming season,
because I think it would be awesome not only for
him but for Bill Belichick. So then the question becomes,
why why Cam Newton? Again, as much as I like
Cam Newton, I'm gonna be honest about it. Or there

(02:07:42):
three or four games last year he didn't even throw
for a hundred yards in a passing league. He's throwing
for less than a hundred yards multiple times during the season.
Not good. Um, he looked pretty effective early on in
the season. Everybody remembers that game against Seattle on Sunday
Night football. They were a yard away from pulling off

(02:08:02):
the upset, and who knows what we're talking about from there,
and and then it just sort of gradually got a
little bit worse and a little bit worse, and there
were some up and down moments or whatever, but like,
you know, the question could be asked, all right, so
why do you want to do this again? Like like
like why why why do you want to bring that back?
If you're Bill Belichick in New England, Here's what I

(02:08:25):
think is happening. New England's in an in between spot
right now, like they'll they'll talk about this in you know, fighting,
like in the UFC. So UFC has got these weight
classes and they've got uh, you know, one and one
thirty five and one and one fifty five and one

(02:08:46):
seventy and then it's you know one eight five one
to two oh five, and so you try and position
your body and diet and cut down weight to get
to one of those one of those weight classes. But
there are some guys who are tweeters who are a
little too big for one fifty five but not big

(02:09:09):
enough for one seventy, and so ideally one six would
be perfect, but they're tweeners, so it's not really ideal.
The Patriots are tweeners right now, like they're kind they're
not quite bad enough to draft a franchise quarterback because
they won some games last year, and they were competitive
even after all those opt outs and those injuries and

(02:09:32):
and the the questionable play a quarterback. So they're not
quite bad enough to to draft a franchise quarterback because
they won too many games. But they're also not quite
good enough to be a real threat to the powers
in the a f C based on what you saw
a year ago. So they're kind of on the in
between to where it's I don't know, like, like what

(02:09:52):
do we do? And it's it's an awkward spot to
be in, and it's an awkward spot. And I don't
think Belichick whatever, just sign up for a full blown rebuild.
I don't think. I don't think Belichick wants that, because
who knows how much longer he wants to coach for
to begin with. So I don't think Belichick looks at
this and goes just strip it all down and let's

(02:10:13):
start over again. I mean, they still had a pretty
decent defense a year ago. You're gonna have a ton
of salary cap space left. I think Belichick looks at
it like this. He clearly likes something about Cam Newton.
We heard rave reviews about his work ethic showing up
in the building, last one to leave um leadership. How

(02:10:35):
he how he rallied the guys like he was loved
in that locker room. They loved him there. And Belichick
could not say enough good things about Cam Newton. And
as it turns out, clearly he wasn't just blowing smoke
because he brought him back again for another for another
run at this thing. So it's clear he likes something
about him that if it wasn't the physical actor attributes

(02:10:56):
because Cam was a little banged up and he dealt
with COVID and all that of Belichick identified something about
him as being the quarterback right now for that team.
And I think Belichick approaches things differently than other coaches.
We've heard players talk about Belichick's approach when it comes

(02:11:17):
to just individual games, to where Belichick will have a
different game plan each week, to where just because you
have a philosophy doesn't mean you're just gonna use that
philosophy and blanket it over every single game of the season. No, no, No,
They're going to focus in on a particular team, an
opponent that week, and what that opponent does, and they're

(02:11:38):
going to figure out a way to take that away
from that opponent to where it's not just here's what
we are, you try and stop us, it's oh, I
know what you guys do best, even though we don't
normally do this, we're gonna stop you this week. He
just looks at things on individual basis. I think Belichick
looks at this season and goes all right, for where
we're at right now, which is not quite bad enough

(02:12:02):
to draft a franchise quarterback at the top of the draft,
and not quite good enough to compete with the a
f C powers or as we think Cam's the perfect
guy for that. He may not be here long term,
but a bridge for this year. It makes a ton
of sense. Also, you're gonna get a bunch of You're
gonna get those players back who opted out a year ago,

(02:12:23):
so you're gonna get better that way. You're also going
to have an actual off season for Cam Newton in
New England, not one where he's rehabbing, but an actual
off season to work with those receivers, work with that
offense and really fine tune some things, all right, really
really look and and and gather everybody together and try

(02:12:44):
and find tune some stuff. And then here's the other part.
That a lot of people aren't paying attention to. Well,
everybody else is strapped for cash and they're having to
make all these moves and you know, move money around,
whether it's the Chiefs with Mahomes and cutting two starting
offensive tackles, or you know, the Bucks having to move

(02:13:05):
some stuff around with Brady. The Patriots are in great
position salary cap wise. So while other teams maybe can't
offer the type of money that's out there, there's a
few teams that can, and one of them is the Patriots.
So if you add all that in and you bring
in some talent like a Hunter Henry at tight end,

(02:13:26):
who Belichick is on record is talking about how talented
and how good he thinks Hunter Henry is. If you
can go out and add some pieces and move some
stuff around, and bring in a wide receiver to and
improve the offensive line, and there's there's quality players out there,
and you've got the money to do so. I don't know, man,
it's not the worst idea in the world to bring

(02:13:46):
him back. It's just not like if you build around
him and actually put pieces around him, I think you're
gonna have a lot more success than needed a year ago.
And also they were seven and nine last year. If
you get that game at Seattle, or if you don't
fumble the ball late against Buffalo and you drive down

(02:14:08):
the field and win that game in the Patriots, you're
looking at a team last year, for all of their flaws,
that could have been nine and seven or maybe even
ten and six. I mean, if you just look at
that team and all their flaws, that team could have
been a nine or ten wins win team a year ago.
And that was with starting quarterback who had no offseason

(02:14:30):
went down, with COVID, all the opt outs and everything else.
I just don't think it's the worst situation in the world.
Jonas Knocks, Fox Sports Radio. Get me on Twitter at
the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter as
a company Alive here from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio Studios. All right, coming up next, we're going to
talk about laziness. All right, there are gonna be some

(02:14:53):
people who are going to be very, very lazy with
a major sporting event. All right, please don't be this person,
but find out if you are that lazy individual, and
if you are, let this be the first warning. We'll
tell you what it is. Next year on fs ARE,
we don't need to bring Jonas in. Jonas Knox Fox

(02:15:14):
Sports Radio Company alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Call one eight eight Farmers to switch and
you could save a bundle on your auto insurance. Ten
minutes from now here on fs ARE, we are going
to have another edition of the scraps things in the
world of sports we have not had a chance to

(02:15:35):
get to. Uh, they are yours ten minutes from now
here on Fox Sports Radio. UM, all right, so we
are going to get into some laziness in the world
of sports. I do want to mention this. Uh. A
guy rights in on Twitter and says, uh in regards
to Cam Newton. Uh, it gives the Patriots a face

(02:15:56):
at quarterback to self free agents they hope to sign.
Know that that's a hunt spot on. That's another element
to this because there's a lot of people who love
Cam Newton. They love his style, they love the way
he plays, and that could be a recruiting pitch for
a lot of people. I just people and like they
just want to look at it on the surface, they

(02:16:18):
just want an immediate gut reaction and my immediate, my
immediate reaction. First thing I thought when the Patriots resigned
Cam Newton, I thought, Okay, that's awesome. Good for Cam
and good for the Patriots. And I started to find
myself going, yeah, but I don't know if it's gonna work.
And then I just took a step back and I said,
all right, don't don't jump to conclusions, don't rush to

(02:16:40):
judgment here. Let's just really think about what's happening. They're
probably going to draft a quarterback, all right, It's not
like Cam Newton is gonna be their only quarterback that
they're bringing in. And maybe they draft some guy, and
who knows, maybe this guy out plays Cam Newton. But
I just if Cam Newton's just started going into next season,
if he's your starting quarterback going into the next season,

(02:17:04):
I think he's gonna be better. This is just gut feeling.
I think he's gonna be better because I think he's
gonna have more time to prepare, more time to get ready.
I think he'll be healthier because he's actually not going
to be rushed back in or thrown out there. And
then you know, he's not gonna have to deal, you know,
presumably with COVID again and all that stuff that came
along with it, And I just he's gonna have better

(02:17:26):
supporting cast and you're gonna have all those players that
opted out that are gonna be back in. I just
I don't think it's the worst thing in the world.
A lot of people want to make fun of the
Patriots and they want to jump on New England because
New England has been stomping on them for a couple
of decades now, and so it's all by god Tom Brady,
he was the answer. And Tom Brady say, man, look
that team last year wasn't wasn't good. There were seven

(02:17:50):
and nine. Like, I just, I don't know. I I
don't think it's the worst thing in the world. I
think I'm fascinated to see how it plays out. But
selfishly me personally, I'm rooting for Cam Newton and I
do think he's gonna have an impact on free agency.
I do think there are gonna be guys that are
gonna go. Man, I'd love to play with Cam Newton.
I'd love to He's a superstar quarterback, superstar quarterback who's

(02:18:11):
taken it on the chin and humbled himself the past
couple of seasons, which is why. I think it's, like
I said before, I'm more of a fan of Cam
Newton now over the past couple of seasons than I
was the previous years before, just because of how humbled
he's been and how he's just taking it, taking the

(02:18:33):
challenge and said no, no, I want to play. I
could easily pull a big time move here and I'm
not doing it. I want to play, and so I
commend him for it. All right, Jonas knocks here on

Don't wait till Sunday, all right, when all the chaos happens.
Go now at some point throughout the course of the
weekend and get registered to try and win this one
million dollars. It's the Fox Sports Radio M Drive Million

(02:19:59):
Dollar Bracket Challenge. Refined your prime with M Drive. And
speaking of the n c A Tournament, all right, this
is where I'm gonna encourage people listening here. Don't be
one of these, right, and one of these is lazy, lazy, lazy,

(02:20:20):
either sports media or sports fans. Don't be one of these, right.
I'm not going to be one of these people that
talks about ratings dips in the n c A Tournament.
I'm not going to do it. And I'm not going
to do it for a couple of reasons. So obviously
we're not gonna have Duke, We're not gonna have Kentucky.
Those are the two big teams. And so because you

(02:20:42):
you're not gonna have the two big teams, the expectation
would be okay, well, you know, people just aren't gonna
be that interested. You're not gonna get the casual fan
because you don't have the recognizable names. But the reason
I'm not going to talk about ratings dips in the
n c A tournament coming up next week and the
week after in the week after that, for a couple
of reasons. Number One, everybody's taken a hit. We've seen

(02:21:04):
ratings drops across the board. Now, the NFL took a
ratings hit, but in comparison to other sports, not nearly
as much. The NBA got crushed, the NHL, I mean,
good god, the XFL closed down completely. Like every single
sport has taken a hit ratings wise. So I'm not
going to be critical of of the n c A
tournament if the ratings take a dip because there's no

(02:21:26):
Duke or no Kentucky. And here's the other reason why
I'm not going to talk about the ratings. I'm not
going to highlight laziness. I won't do it because if
you're not gonna watch the n c A Tournament because
Duke and Kentucky aren't in it, you're just lazy, that's
all it. Is you're lazy. I grew up a die

(02:21:48):
hard boxing fan. You want to know the go to
for people who are lazy when it came to boxing. Yeah,
the heavyweight divisions garbage. Yeah, there's no there's no true
America and heavyweight champion anymore, So why would I pay attention?
Do you know what's happening at a hundred twenty six pounds?

(02:22:09):
There's this guy, Manny Pacio, and he's fighting like all
these like all time great lighter weight fighters, guys like
Juan Manuel Marquez and Marco Antonio Berrera and and like
like all these all these guys that he's fighting, Eric Morales,

(02:22:29):
all these great like all that's happening in the lower
waight classes. Like, but but you don't want to watch
any of that because there's no great American heavyweight Okay, Like,
there's this guy Floyd Mayweather names pretty Boy Floyd became
Money Mayweather. You know, he's like one of the all
time great fighters. But never mind, he's not a heavyweight
boxing champs. So that's why you don't want to watch it,
Like what are we doing here? Like one of my

(02:22:51):
favorite fighters, one of my favorite boxers of all time,
this guy named Victor Chinian, a right vic dar Chinian.
He was Australian, an Armenian, all right, just a ball
of rage, okay. He was also a hundred and fifteen pounds.
Hundred fifteen pounds, alright. Imagine the winning jockey at the

(02:23:13):
Kentucky Derby who if he hit you, half of your
body would die. That was Victor Chinion. Just had a
piston for a left hand. One of my favorite fighters,
hundred hundred eighteen pounds. So many people probably never paid attention,

(02:23:34):
never watched him. Great fighter. He's not a heavyweight. I
won't watch it if it's not a heavy It's like
golf tigers on the tournament all pass. It's like, okay, well,
you know you're never gonna watch anyways, Like we get it.
You're just not gonna watch because you need it all
It's gotta be easy for you. You gotta have a

(02:23:54):
recognizable name. You don't want to go out of your
way to watch. It's the same thing with the n
c A tournament this year. There's gonna be people who
are gonna say, no Duke, no Kentucky, good luck with
the ratings, are going to watch. I'm gonna watch. I'm
gonna watch every single game you don't want to watch
to watch, that's fine, like it's gonna take a hit.

(02:24:16):
But you remember, we didn't even get this last year.
We didn't get an n c A tournament. Last year.
Everything got shut down. We got nothing. You got like
the NBA shutting down and everybody going into panic mode
and WrestleMania getting uh canceled from Raymond James Stadium and
all these sports going to panic mode and everybody cancels.
You had the Big East Tournament which was playing a

(02:24:37):
game and then they realized at halftime at Madison Square Garden. Hey,
so there's a lot of people with COVID in New York.
Maybe we should shut this whole thing down to we
got none of this last year. But there's gonna be
people who are gonna say, no Duke, no Kentucky, I'm
not into it. And there's gonna be people who look
at the ratings and go, man, that's what you get.
No Duke, no Kentucky. What do you expect. Of course,
there's gonna be a rating step stop. You're just being lazy.

(02:25:02):
You want it all handed to you. It's gotta be easy.
It's I'm so I will not criticize the n c
A tournament if the ratings are low. I'm not gonna
sit here and knock it, man, because the ratings are
been low everywhere, and I just think that's a lot
of people being lazy who don't want to do the
work or don't want to have to actually study up
on on Gonzaga or Iona or Ducane or any of

(02:25:26):
these other lower seeds or any of these other higher
seeds from you know, non traditional Like, yes, the Big
Ten is gonna have a bunch of teams in the tournament.
I know it's not Duke. I know it's not Kentucky,
it's not the recognizable names, it's not the rock Stars.
But we're getting an n c A tournament. I can't
wait for it. If you're not gonna watch because the
big names aren't there more for me, I'm fine with it.

(02:25:49):
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio, get me on Twitter at

(02:27:15):
I later today. Back to Jonas Knocks. Thanks Cap, Jonas
Knocks here on Fox Sports Radio and company. You live
from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios called one
eight eight eight Farmers and you could save a whole
lot of something on auto insurance coming up fifteen minutes
from now here on Fox Sports Radio. If you want
to make money on the n c A Tournament, we

(02:27:37):
have got the tip for you, all right, the tip
for you that's coming up fifteen minutes from now here
on fs are Right now, though, it's time for something
we do on the show called this Jonas, How could
you not get to these stories? These are the scraps
And for that we turned it over to the great

(02:27:58):
Kevin Figures, who is gonna tell us what we've missed
so far on the show, and he's also going to
try and get us all fired. keV. Well, first off,
we're talking quarterbacks in the NFL, and one of the
biggest disasters in the NFL in recent memory has been
Dwayne Haskins going to the Washington football team very unsuccessfully,
was cut loose last season, did sign with the Pittsburgh
Steelers here in the off season, and in a recent

(02:28:20):
interview UH with Colin Coward actually Ron Rivera talked about
the falling out but the organization had with Dwayne Haskins
and said, look, he tried to come to terms with him.
He had a legit arm and there are certain times
when he came in well prepared, ready to go, and
there are many other times where he wasn't ready to
go and it was just too inconsistent. It was something
they couldn't deal with as an organization. He says, if

(02:28:42):
he can get his head right and get his things together,
he can be a good NFL quarterback. But he's not
ready at this moment in time. Remember when Urban Meyer
UH said, you know, I think he needs another year.
He did, Yeah, He's like He's like, yeah, I think
he needs another year. And it's like look, you know,
Pete Carroll said that same thing about Mark Sanchez and
just said, you know, I think he needs another year.

(02:29:03):
I I just I try not to be too critical
because it's easy for us on the outside to say, dude,
what are you doing. You got all the opportunity in
the world. Why don't you take advantage of it? Man,
When I was I was an idiot. I just I
literally I was a bus boy at t g I Fridays,
and I would try and make tip money and then

(02:29:27):
just go blow it in Vegas. Like I was an idiot.
I didn't know what you like. I just made terrible decisions.
Like he's made some bad decisions. He's going to get
another opportunity. But it's not like he's a bad guy.
Nobody's ever said Dwayne Haskins is a bad guy, or
you know, he's got an ego, or he's an egomaniac
or anything like that. They just just a little immature,

(02:29:48):
and I think, who knows, maybe he gets somewhere. Ron
Rivera says he's got a ton of talent and maybe
gets an opportunity to to revitalize his career. But they
just they couldn't wait around anymore. And I get why
they made the move, and now you just gotta see
whether or not he's going to get another chance. Well,
it's one of those like wake up call moments in
your career, a pivotal point. You know, you can be

(02:30:09):
JaMarcus Russell and be the top overall pick and not
work hard and get run out of Oakland and never
really get another legit chance because nobody saw the opportunity.
I saw the work ethic in you. Dwayne Haskins has
another chance, going to a class organization in Pittsburgh to
see if he can actually turn things around. This is
his wake up call. If he can't turn it around now,
then maybe he doesn't have maybe he doesn't have what
it takes to be cut in the NFL. But you're right,

(02:30:30):
he's a young kid, inexperience. It's a lot thrown on
his plate um, you know, at a very young age.
So I'm not willing to give up on him and
call him a bust quite yet, but he certainly hasn't
gotten off to the best start. Jamark. By the way,
what Jamark, when's the last time you heard of JaMarcus Russell.
Wonder what he's doing. I believe he tried to try
out for the Arena League at a certain point, but

(02:30:51):
I don't know if he actually made a team. That
was five, right, and that was maybe about five years ago,
five or six years ago. I haven't heard anything from
him since then, because I remember he was he tried,
he there was a comeback attempt, like he tried, and
I think he was trying out for the Bears a
few years ago. There there was something like that to

(02:31:12):
where he was but like never like nowhere, not even
like no media appearances, no, you know, not doing analysts
work anywhere, just like yeah, not you know, just just disappeared,
just vanished. Like there's something about that. I think it's
kind of cool to where you look at it and
I just the idea of just completely disappearing, like just
just taking off of me, like yeah, I'm out of here,

(02:31:34):
like you know, well, probably knowing that he will be
the butt of so many jokes if he made himself
into a public figure, if I were him, and look,
you pocket all that money, you hope and pray that
he was responsible with it. He set for life. I
think he got like, you know, fifty plus million garran
seed at the time he was drafted that was back
before we got the rookie wage skill. So if he
was smart with his money, I mean he could fade
off until the sunset after playing what four years in

(02:31:56):
the NFL. If even that, you know him pretty cushy,
I'll take it. Let's go live to are I have
an update on JaMarcus Russell Insider bow bends for the
latest bow Yeah, it looks like JaMarcus Russell is currently
a quarterbacks coach at his alma mater in Alabama, the
high school. Yeah, that's awesome, good, you know, good for him. Man.

(02:32:16):
Let me look and I'm seeing here he um, he
got at least thirty two million guaranteed. Now that there's
probably other you know, contracts, stuff that goes along with it.
But you know what, man, thirty two million guaranteed. If
he's got like ten or twelve that left. I mean,
if you don't have, like you know, if you're not

(02:32:36):
spending you know, crazy and you're doing and you've got
that kind of money left and and you can be
a high school football coach at your alma mater and
just like live a quiet life. Nothing wrong with that, man, Like,
there's the worst existences in the world than than doing
what your Marcus Russell is doing good for ye managed well,
thirty two million dollars, life changing money. You're all set.
You're good to go. I will say early on in

(02:32:59):
his rookie season with the Raiders, he was at a
Phoenix Suns game and he had a it looked like
a platinum chain with the image of himself. Also, when planting,
I'm throwing a football that was not cheap. Yeah you know, yeah,
I mean listen, you know, I'd imagine those purchases. I
hope those purchases have stopped. But like, let me tell

(02:33:20):
you something, if at twenty two years old, if somebody
gave me thirty two million dollars guaranteed, I mean like
I have no like I've never done a drug in
my life, like I might have. I might have turned
into a full blown drug I go no idea. I
don't know what that type of money at that age
and not coming for money would look like or feel like.

(02:33:42):
It's just it's crazy the literal definition of more money
than you know what to do with at that point.
So the n C Double A is looking at potential
rules changes when it comes to their football games. One
is a slight change to the overtime that will require
a team to try a two point conversion after a
touchdown in the second overtime as opposed to waiting to

(02:34:03):
the third overtime. They cite player wellness and health and
safety in doing that. And then another interesting one is
trying to do away with players faking injuries h during drives,
specifically when it comes to teams that like to push
the tempo a little bit and they've seen a higher
incidents of players falling down with what they believed to
be foe injuries to try to slow down the momentum

(02:34:23):
offensive teams. It hasn't been discussed as of yet, at
least not publicly, what potential repercussions would be if a
player is found to be faking an injury, but it
is something that's the the n C double A Rules
Committee is talking about. How do we know they're faking? Though?
Right like that that feels like I you can look
at it and say, oh, well that's not you know,
they're they're just faking it, and say okay, well, like

(02:34:45):
how many times do we have to see you know,
a player you know suffers, you know, something tragic because
he's doing conditioning drills and it's too hot, and you know,
at some point in time probably had a coach or
somebody say, oh, you can push through it, you can
get through it. It's like everybody's different. Man, Like, how
do we like? So, yes, I I get it. Players

(02:35:06):
will take a break and pretend like they're cramping so
that they can get arrest on the field. But if
you start determining which players faking and which isn't, what
happens if you get it wrong one time? You know
what I mean, Like you just open yourself up for
all sorts of problems. Yeah, it's a slippery slope. I
understand the spirit of it because you don't want to.
But I mean, look, it's maybe that's part of the

(02:35:26):
gamesmanship that comes with it as well. It's up to
the offensive teams to be able to adjust and find
a way to get their momentum back if that happens. Yeah,
and and if if you feel like that's what's gonna
break up the like look when in in Major League
Baseball where they go out and visit the mound. Um,
you know, there's a mound visit to try and you know,
get things going, Like if if a pictures you know,

(02:35:47):
pitching well, and guy wants to lay down a bunt
to try and get on base. Like, I mean, look,
you gotta do what you gotta do to try and
get back on track. So if you if you got
a fake and injury to do so, hey, man, that's
that's that's part of the rule, part of the game.
That's how it goes. Now, when the segment started, Jonas
you said you have a n C Double A tournament.
Tip for you guys transitions well into this very next

(02:36:08):
story because the n C Double A is challenging a
group of Virginia urologists who trade mark the phrase vasectomy mayhem,
saying it claims to be too close to March madness. Now,
what is vasectomy mayhem? Well, this one urology office in
Virginia is basically encouraging people, if you're going to get
a vasectomy, wait until close to the weekend, you know,

(02:36:30):
wait until the start of the n C Double A tournament,
and say you're gonna be laid up for three days.
Why not be laid up for three days concurrently with
the n C Double A tournament. You're gonna be on
your couch watch some basketball. The n C Double A says,
I don't know, this vasectomy mayhem way too close to
March madness. We've trade marked a lot of other things
that allude to March madness in the basketball tournament that
we haven't signed off on, and we're going to sue you.

(02:36:51):
So that is currently in the courts right now, this
vasectomy clinic clinic in Virginia being sued by the n
c double A for basically copyright infringement. That is brilliant. Look,
now here's the thing it used to be to where
I don't know if it was espan who did it
to where there was a website who had for people
that had to go to work on like the Thursday

(02:37:12):
and Friday the tournament. There was a place that had
a fake computer screen and then when you clicked it,
it turned into the live bracket of the n c
A tournament. So that way, if your boss came around
from behind, you could click it and it would look
like you were doing work on your computer. And so
I think it was like a dot com whatever the

(02:37:34):
And so now people are probably because a lot of
people are probably still working from home, so that's all gone.
But the people that are going into work, you know,
maybe the bosses are all over them, and now they've
got to come up with an excuse. So if it look,
if it takes a vasectomy for you to see the
Thursday Friday games in college basketball during the tournament, I mean, look,

(02:37:56):
sacrifices after be made. So are they sacrifice your your
future children? Four weekend? They tell you something a right,
like like who knows? Like maybe that kid would have
been a real nuisance in the neighborhood. I mean, who
knows it? Maybe maybe they're just thinking themselves. Look, I
don't I don't want to miss this tournament. And if
this is what it takes and I need to show
my dedication, then this is what it takes. Now you

(02:38:18):
can reverse that though, right. Uh it's it's risky and
dangerous and has a bunch of issues, but it is
possible to reverse it. Yes, or look, you could be
like Antono Carimari and have Super Spartman still get your
pregnant after you have vasectomy. So that does happen. Yeah,
that is true. There are are you butt out? Okay,
go go to go lick your wounds. Well done, Jonas

(02:38:42):
knocks Fox Sport Radio. By the way, get keV on
Twitter at k FIG one. That's at k FIG one
all right. Coming up next, it is the tip you
have to have heading into the n c A tournament
if you want to make some money at yours next year.
On FSR, Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio coming to you
Alive from the Farmers Insurance Fox Sports Radio Studios called

(02:39:02):
Farmers today for a quote. I will be back on
the air five pm Eastern time, two o'clock Pacific with
my guy Bucky Brooks. Will be talking all sorts of NFL.
We got college hoops. We might have an update on
the Joel m bead m r I. He suffered the
hyper extended knee on Friday night, so they are awaiting

(02:39:25):
the results on that to see how severe the injury is.
But keep it here on Fox Sports Radio. We'll have it.
Keep you up to date and up to speed on
the status of Joel Embad and all things sports related
and beyond here on fs R. And I'll be back
on the air again with my guy Bucky Brooks five
to eight pm Eastern time, two to five Pacific time,

(02:39:46):
right here on Fox Sports Radio. So Steve Feazik, who's
a professional sports bettor, he's also a Fox Sports radio
host here. You hear him on Straight out of Vegas.
You also hear him on the Saturday night edition of
Straight Out of Vegas as well too. Um he's one
of the most brilliant sports betting minds, which is why

(02:40:07):
he's as successful as he is that I've ever talked
to um to get an understanding how good Physic is
at betting on sports. There's a thing called the Super Contest,
which is the elite of the elite nfl UH gamblers
in the world, and it's a contest you pick games

(02:40:27):
each week and you see who's the winner at the
end of it all. And nobody's ever won the Super
Contest twice except for Physic, who did it two years
in a row. So nobody's won twice. He not only
won it twice, he did it in back to back years.

(02:40:48):
So he's top of the food chain when it comes
to professional sports betting, and he looks at things differently
and it's brilliant. He talked about the n c A
Tournament and how do we roach betting on the n
c A Tournament And if you like a team, and
you like a team strongly in the n c A Tournament,
how you approach it. And I want you to listen

(02:41:09):
to this because I think it's brilliant. I've never thought
about it like this. Here was Stephezic earlier on the show.
So let's say you're gonna put a hundred dollars on
a team like Houston. I think they're around fifteen to one.
So normally bet you make your futures, bet you're done
with it route for Houston win. That's entirely the wrong
thing to do. If you really bullish on Houston, just
take a hundred dollars. But I'm on the money line

(02:41:30):
first game. Hey, it's not gonna pay very much. You know,
probably be laying minus five or something. All Right, see cash,
and I got a hundred twenty three dollars in your pocket.
Then the next round you play them on the money
line again. You take that, you go all in again
and you bet them on the money line, and you
do that six straight times by the time you're done,
By the time they're whatever they are, five and that

(02:41:51):
point underdog against um, you know Baylor. Along their path,
you're going to have engineered a parlay. A mechanical parlay
is going to pay significantly more in almost every case,
than you would if you bet into the futures pool.
So think about that. If you like a team and
everybody goes through this to where if you're bet if

(02:42:12):
you're making your picks for your tournament and you're you're
filling out your bracket, if you have a team that
you like to win at all, if they lose early on,
you're screwed because those possible points in the later round
are over. It doesn't matter if you get three of
your four final four teams. If your winner, your national champion,
is out before the sweet sixteen, it's over for you.

(02:42:35):
You there's you can't win because you can't pick up
those additional points. What Feaz is saying is, if you
like this team and you bet on them to win
the entire tournament, instead of betting on them to win
the whole thing, bet on them to win each individual
game so that way you don't have to be held
hostage by the bet long term. If you bet them

(02:42:56):
to win at the start of the tournament, and if
you decide that things change and you want to pull
out early and you don't want to bet this team
moving forward because of an injury or whatever, you just
take your money back. It's brilliant and it's exactly why
he's great at gambling. And I'm not for Chris Perfette,
Bow Benson and Kevin Figures. I'm Jonas Knocks. Thanks for
hanging out.
