Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. I mean it's a
tradition like no other in sports talk radio. And there
are multiple traditions that will be pointed out and will
be glorified, and they will all be done for the
next three hours here on Fox Sports Radio. That guy's
Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is FS are you

(00:21):
can hang out with us. Is always on the I
Heart Radio app and wherever you are taking part in
this program on hundreds of Fox Sports Radio affiliates all
across the country. We appreciate you doing so, but I
cannot do this alone. He is the man that you
have tuned in to hear. He is the man that
you have been yearning for all week long. He has

(00:42):
none other than the pride of Dublin, Ohio. Makes some
noise for Brady mfing Quinn. You know Jonas tonight though.
It's a special night tonight, all right, Because I am
the top to your bottom. I am the picture to
your catcher, buddy. We are the one to pot when
it comes to the top ten of the first round

(01:03):
of the NFL Draft. Yes are. It's It's an explosive
top ten, bottom ten, all right. I can't wait to
get to it. I have been preparing for this all week, uh,
fretting about it, consulting with other people, calling coaches, calling scouts,
calling people within the media industry, just so I could
try to be as accurate as possible for my top

(01:25):
ten first round of this year's nf Draft NFL Draft,
because I think there's a lot of intrigue to it,
so at some point we're gonna get into it tonight.
But I gotta be honest with you, man, I am
fired up for tonight's show that in part two, because well,
what else is going on tonight? There's not many other
sports right when we got the draft come up this week?
Is is there anything else going on? But what do
you mean? It's the it's the bridesmaid, It's it's the

(01:45):
second place. You know what I'm talking about? Oh, it's
the Oscars, who, year after year after year, they continue
to butcher this thing. They put the Oscars on opposite
of us, and they think people are gonna watch that
bag of crap that they roll out of year. We're
looking to continue a ratings record wind streak over the Oscars.
It's what we've done every single year. They pit us

(02:07):
against the Oscars, and every single year they get smoked
Brady Quinn. So we're making it another year here. Why
kill tradition? That's what I'm talking about. I know this much.
It's a fun vacuum. You know. Any year I do
actually remember we're calling watching it was a fun vacuum.
It was not very entertaining. I think I can speak
for all of us on the show. That's everyone included.
I'm talking about Bobo, I'm talking about Lee, I'm talking

(02:28):
Steve to Steve to Sego. I love to bring in
Steve on all this stuff because he is the four
non expert on everything in regards to the Oscars, which
I gotta be honest with you, Actually is it? Lee?
I know you love the stuff too, but I honestly
thought it was Golden globes. I am so ignorant to
all of this that I don't even know the difference
between any of the stuff that goes. Honestly, who has
seen a movie in the last year. I kick that back, Steve.

(02:51):
I watched uh Synchronic is that the name of it?
I watched that the other night. I'm not even gonna
truck chronic. Yeah, yeah, it was it was with Anthony Mackie.
I'm a huge fan at him one time. He's the
nicest guy in the world. Absolutely love everything he's in.
It was a little trippy for me, though, I I

(03:12):
didn't find overly enjoyable. At the end, it got a
little bit like, Okay, this is a little weird. But
that was the last movie I watched. Who the hell
is Anthony Man? The falcon Man? He's the falcon dude?
And you kidding me? What Captain America? This? Come on,
if you saw Anthony macke you go, Okay, that guy's
been a lot of stuff. Did you say, okay, hold on,
I got one. Did you see eight Mile? Uh? Yes, okay,

(03:36):
he was the He was Papa Dock in eight Mile,
the guy who went up against oh you mean, oh,
you mean the guy that, if we were counting total
rap battles, actually won that movie, not Eminem's garbage one win.
And then he like the that's the equivalent of the
Eagles First Patriots've been like the dark haired version of
Eminem from a mile essentially, like you've been called that before. Yeah, yeah,

(03:58):
I've heard a lot of people called a dark haired version.
You know what was the name was be Rabbit's name
on that beat. Rabbit was that just his name? He
did actually have a name mark. And and because I
grew up in the Canao Valley and Canao means rabbit
in Spanish. I don't know if you knew that, Brady Quinn,
So Bobo, listen, Maen, it all ties together, I'm telling
So you're the dark hair eminem Yeah, and he has

(04:21):
dark hair now and you're the King of Crinshaw. So
you're getting you're getting back to vacation. That's hey, look
this event. You can go on vacation all you want,
but vacation. I literally drove into the studio from vacation, like, yeah,
I keep here in PlayStation everything. You're going back to

(04:42):
PlayStation's going back to playstatione oh man. But yeah, nonetheless,
So the Oscars, the Oscars are coming up later on
the night. I swear to god. We did this the
other night on my highly rated weekend overnight show, where
they tried to either make up names or put a
name of an actual Oscar or nominee. And I went
to of ten, can we do that? Can I try this?

(05:04):
Can I try this? It's really hard, man, I know
it's hard to trust me, I can put it together.
Will not be two of ten by the end of
the show. Can we put this together? Sure? All right? Yeah,
So so we're gonna come up with with it's either
an Oscar nominee and and because I'm very creative, you
know this about me, very creative creativity. It's just it's
just it's my backbone. And so the name of the

(05:25):
segment was Oscar nominee or crap. That's that's pretty much
the name of the segment. You have to tell us
whether or not it's an actual Oscar nominee or completely
made up. And I went to of ten. I think
you're going to do better than I will. It sounds
like a lot like celebrity porn star just saying it
doesn't You didn't even get the name right because you're
too good for a weekend overnights. But again, yes I

(05:46):
am again, some people remember where they came from. Cet,
hold on, hold on, wait a minute, it's pro wrestler
or porn star. That's the name of the game. Has
there been China the China she was? She did both?
What do you? What do you want in that particular

(06:08):
game where like you you kind of get it right,
no matter what she say. Yeah she has. And and
I screwed up because I only rewarded points for one
all right. I called it incorrect because they said porn star.
And then I realized, no, that's actually so I had
to go back in time. But I fixed it. I
I fixed the air, I fixed the problem. So we're good.
We're all good here. That's that's how this works, Brady Quinn.

(06:29):
You just we got problems when we solve it, so
we This is a very distracted show, as you can tell.
We got the Oscars. We got people in studio that
are more focused on who's gonna win best. Different ways,
you know a lot of things, different ways they are
they are and and it's and it's rough on that apples.
We've also got major League Baseball on right now. We've
got the Padres and the Dodgers. But don't worry about it.

(06:50):
According to Dodger fans, not a rivalry, still not a rivalry,
Like whatever they tell you, it's still not a rivalry.
They do not take the San Diego Padres seriously, even
though they're just trying to even this series and it's
a four game series. At Dodger stadium, So don't don't.
Fernando Tatis, by the way, unbelievable. He is as I
don't know there's a baseball play that's more swag than him, right,

(07:11):
I know, he's awesome, he's so nat. I'm telling you, Okay,
your daughters are gonna be good football players. They're gonna
they're gonna have I'm telling you. I'm telling you this
right now. Listen to so for here's why. Because you've
probably got like a little football around the house, don't
you at all times? You gotta do so from an

(07:33):
early age, your daughters are going to know how to
throw a spiral better than the guys in their class.
I'm telling you, just from growing up around it. And
the reason I say that is Fernando Tatis, his dad
played Major League baseball. That kid was probably swinging a
bat when he was like six months old, like he's
done in his whole life. And and you wonder why
he's so good at such a young age, It's because

(07:54):
he grew up around it. I'm telling you your daughters
are going to be very good football players. And if
you have a son, that kid's gonna be a Heisman
Trophy winner. Telling you right now. That'd be great if
that day comes. But as of right now, God has
blessed me with three daughters and we seem to continue
to be on that gravy train. So I'm not sure
really what he's trying to tell me. Maybe there's some
past sudden discretions that have that have taken place. But yeah,

(08:17):
so so far we're rocking rolling as a girl daud
of three. Yeah. Well, um, we are going to be
rocking and rolling later on, Brady Quinn, because we have
got our this is an annual tradition here. We talked
about traditions, the tradition of us beating the brains in
of the Oscars ratings every single Sunday they put the
Oscars on a Sunday night. They lose in the ratings
battle to this show every single year, but you know

(08:38):
they want to do it again, so we got to
give it to him again. Also tradition, unlike any other here,
we have got our top and bottom ten explosive drafts.
Coming up later on in the program, Brady Quinn has
got his top ten explosive mock draft. He's gonna tell
you the top ten picks of the draft, and then
I have got my bottom ten of the entire draft,

(08:59):
and not so loas of mock drafts. So that's right.
You like going on the bottom, you know, you like
bringing it up the rear. That's that's typically how you like. Okay,
what but now we're talking about the mock draft. So
he's got his the mock drafts. Uh, coming up here,
you're gonna do yours? Are you good with doing yours? Top?
Next hour? Al right? Of course I'm a top of
the draft. I mean I've got to the top of

(09:20):
the hour man, and and I will do my top
of our three, all right, to top of our three.
I'm gonna do my bottom ten, and I've got a
little treat for you in my bottom tend. I can't wait.
Here's Here's what I'll say about this is it is
significantly harder to do what you're about to do. So
I want to give you all the credit in the world.
Whatever ten you come up with, it is going to

(09:41):
be the best because it's it's so difficult to do.
And I think you actually came close on a couple
last year, and you deserve a lot of credit for that.
I will say this, though, my first round, this might
be one of the worst, like for top ten's we've done,
because there's kind of something that don't really secrets, Like
we we've got a pretty good idea of where this

(10:02):
thing is going, at least the first couple of picks,
So I hate to ruin the surprise for people. There's
there's maybe not going to be a surprise, and so
we get into the top ten after a couple of picks. Well,
I mean, I don't know. According to the latest rumors
of pinas Seul and there's some some some jockeying for
position for Pinai Sul. Can you believe it? It's like
every single day they just draw name out of the

(10:23):
hat and they go, oh, what can we start? What
rumor can we start about this guy in the top ten?
Let's let's start a rumor here that all of a
sudden everybody's in. I mean, it's just I'm ready for
it to be here, because I don't know that that
we've had this many conflicting rumors and stories for a
draft that I can remember, because we have gone in
the matter of three weeks from Mac Jones is the

(10:43):
picket three to Justin Fields is the guy to watch
out for? Trey Lance to Mac Jones, is again the
picke at number three. I'm dizzy at this point from
all the rumors, especially surrounding the forty niners, and they
love every second of it. They love it, and you
want me to were spond that, I'm sorry, I was
reading a bunch of the comments about you being on
the bottoms. Yeah for for a bottom ten on Twitter.

(11:06):
It was actually some great responses were getting back from
us teasing the bottom ten and basically taking a proverbial
dump on the Oscars tonight. Well, we we appreciate it.
So he is, Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knoxes is Fox
Sports Radio. By the way, speaking of the NFL Draft.

Coming up next though, we have got ourselves a big
time move in the NFL. But what does it mean
for the future. We'll get into that next year on
fs ARE. This song stinks. He's Brady Quinn, I'm Jonas Knocks.

(12:17):
This is Fox Sports Radio. You can find the show
as always on the I Heart Radio app, and if
you're listening on any of our Fox Sports Radio affiliates,
we appreciate you doing so making us a part of
your Sunday evening here on fs ARE, coming up in
we will call it about ten minutes or so from
now here on Fox Sports Radio, We're gonna get to

(12:39):
the bottom the real story behind this Jersey scam in
the NFL. Brady Quinn has some thoughts on this, some
experience on this, and I think you can do a
good job, a better job than most when it comes
to breaking down why this is such a scam, This
Jersey scam in the NFL. How about that. I'll just

(13:00):
say that I've actually got a personal experience with it.
I will explain that. But there's also there's also someone
who is pretty fired up about it, a guy that
I think our listeners may know. He was pretty fired
up about it. I'll tell you why he was fired up.
But I will say this, I think he's wrong. And
I know I'll get some flak for that, because any

(13:21):
time there's you're talking about a goat and you're disagreeing
with them and take a little flak from people. But
I'll explain why, it's not really gonna matter. Yeah, but
this is that's what makes you great. Man. You're fearless.
Much like you were fearless in the pocket. You're fearless
in the pocket of sports stock Radio. You and I
a couple of fearless brothers. Man. That's what we do.
That's what we do. Brady. It's probably too dumb to
realize what was going on inside the pocket. I couldn't

(13:44):
do what you did. I'll tell you that right now.
I told you. Just the thought of a guy collapsing
my knee while I was a straight leg trying to
make a throw, I would retire, like I couldn't deal
with it. I would that would be terrifying for me,
and especially seeing what happened with Chris Wideman last night
in the UFC fight. I mean, I mean, you know

(14:04):
what was crazy about that is so I had a
buddy in town, you know, Jake, one of my best
friends I grew up with. Oh, here we go, here
we go, this is what you do here. By the way,
he hit the over. Okay, as far as how many
drinks you thought he'd have in a day Thursday, he
hit the over. I'll go, I'll leave it at that.
That being said, he goes and and by the way,

(14:26):
separate quick discussion, he was like, why would we ever
order the fight when everything that happens you just see
on Twitter later on which I feel bad admitting, but
that is kind of the case with UFC. It's like,
you know, there was that particular fight was so quick
that you're like, going, I'm glad I didn't pay for
it because now I basically see the end result. But
that particular moment was so gruesome it made at two thoughts.

(14:51):
One when I initially saw it, I was like, he
didn't know he broke it until he tried to put
pressure on it, which is kind of crazy if you
think about the adrenaline those guys have going into the
ring or the octagon. But the other thought was man
for anyone who gets after an athlete for trying to
get all he can when he can, like get out
of here, like those sorts of injuries can cost him

(15:13):
the rest of his career. And yet we still get people,
whether it's in fighting, whether it's in football or basketball,
whatever the case is, we act like they wouldn't do
the same thing the athletes doing. And then you see
something like that and you feel terrible for him, and
you go, yeah, he trained and sacrificed a portion of
his life for that moment. Now he snapped his leg

(15:33):
on live television and he may never be the same
from it. So I just I hope he gets I
hope he's able to come back from it. But at
the same time, so I hope people understand the risk
that athletes take when they do stuff like this. Um.
And for those of you that have not seen it, um,
it's I mean, the guy snapped his legs snapped. It
was last night at the UFC two sixty one event.
Um Uriah Hall against Chris Wideman. Chris Wideman, uh first

(15:57):
kick of the fight right as the fight started snap apped.
His leg didn't know that it was snapped until Brady.
Like Brady pointed out he stepped back on it and
just imagine like, uh, your sock being loose on the
front of your foot and kind of flopping over the
front of your foot like that. That's sort of how
it looked when he stepped back, and it was just
it totally gruesome. But he underwent successful surgery, they say today,

(16:19):
and then you just see what what remains of his career.
But what's ironic about it is he actually had the
same thing happened in a fight against him, where Anderson
Silva threw a kick like that against Wideman and Wideman
checked the kick and blocked it, and then Anderson Silva's
legs snapped almost identical to it. So it's a crazy
occurrence how it all turned out. But yeah, it's who

(16:41):
Anderson Silva was able to come back, but some would
argue who was never the same afterwards. I just I
don't know how you ever, how do you ever come
to Grips with the idea of, oh, I'm gonna throw
that same exact kick again. I would never be able
to do it again. Well, I'll put it this way,
and this is in no way trying to compare myself
to a fighter at all, But I broke my r

(17:02):
what's that you're my fighter? I broke my right index
finger in like my I think it was my second
start in the NFL, and I had never you know,
usually when you're in the pocket, it ends up being
type pockets. Sometimes you're throwing and you've got to articulate
your arm over a guy, or you're trying to find
out a window to get the ball off before you
get hit. And I never experienced this before my entire life.

(17:25):
And I think it was Marcus Stroud as a d
tackle for the Bills. He bust through the offensive line.
I get the ball out, but I literally as I'm
following through, I literally snapped my handball comes out and
my index finger ends up shattering that top like metatur
sole on the tip of my finger, and and and
I didn't realize it was broke until a couple of
days later. But you know, finish out the game and

(17:45):
all that stuff. And I remember, after talking to doctors
and all that they had to put pins put. You
had to put pins in my finger. So I was
I was on, I R I was done for the
next six weeks. So they pull the pins out and
we started rehabbing and we do all these little grip
and hand exercises stuff. And I remember throwing after that
and being like, I have no I have no feeling

(18:05):
in the end of my finger, Like I can't feel
the ball come off the way I used to and
and like the and the long run, more throw, the
more reab I was like, it's just not coming back,
Like this is just nuts. I'm gonna have to adjust
to a new normal. And I know it sounds simple
and stupid, but when you think about how important that
is for any thrower. The last thing for a quarterback

(18:26):
to touch the ball as your index finger. That's what
pushes the ball off and where all the torque and
power you're generating is And and it felt it felt
entirely different the rest of my career because of that.
So that's that's what I'm talking about. Like, and I
remember being in a pocket and being like I almost
wanted to, like almost short armed at times because I
was apprehensive at first to do it. And that's the

(18:47):
toughest thing to overcome is really the mental side of it.
I didn't know that that affected you the rest of
your career. I remember you telling the story, but I
didn't know that was something that you actually dealt with
the rest of your career, that it never never actually
got back to whatcent was to this day. I literally like,
if I was to touch something hot with my right
indext finger, it burned my skin, but I wouldn't really

(19:07):
be able to feel it really it. Yeah, it's the
weirdest thing. I didn't know that. Wow, Now, was that
was that a cold weather game? Because if you would
have banged your it was freezing, that's even worse like that,
that's the problem. That's that's even worse. Banging it on
somebody's helmet or a shoulder pads or somebody's equipment when

(19:29):
it's cold out like that, that's even worse. That's miserable.
I would have retired right then and there. See, I disagree,
because it was so cold. Even though my hands started
to swell up. My my middle finger, my index fingers
started to swell up pretty bad. I U I was
like trying to keep it warm because it was swelling
up and got so fat, it was getting stiff, and
so then I was having a hard time feeling but
it was it wasn't hurt, but it was so swollen.

(19:51):
I was like just trying to keep it loose so
I could grip the ball. Okay um. And again, like
I said, like you know, I found out afterwards, after
we went through a day of practice, I'm like, man,
this thing still bothering me. Him I had blood all
underneath it, that that it was gonna, you know, it
was gonna to be surgery taken care of, which again
it stinks, but but again at the point of the
whole conversation is that's what he's going through now, you know,

(20:11):
he's looking at the rest of his career trying to
figure out a can I can I even do that again?
Like I don't know what. I don't know if they're
gonna put a rod in or or what the solution
is going to be. But can't even fight again? And
can he kick again? If that's going to be the case,
And then how much of a mental hurdle will it
be to even come back and do that if you're
gonna try to, you know, make something like that happen.

(20:33):
Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here on Fox Sports rading, Yeah,
it was a crazy, crazy situation. Now, one guy who
did just recently undergo surgery. That guy's Patrick Mahomes. I
don't know if you remember seeing Patrick Mahomes in the
Super Bowl, Brady Quinn, but uh, he took kind of
a beating, uh you know, kind of got you know,
thrown around a little bit like we've never seen before.
The Chief's offensive line was criticized, and then all of

(20:54):
a sudden, Kansas City was like, all right, well, at
the very least, we're gonna do something about it. And
they have done just that. They've gotten creative, They've they're
getting some guys back who opted out. They went out.
They signed a guy, Kyle Long, who had retired for
a year but wanted to play football again. They signed
him to a low cost deal on a one year deal.
And then they go out and they trade for Orlando

(21:15):
Brown of the Baltimore Ravens, who wants to be a
left tackle. Got a sniff of it last year when
Ronnie Stanley went out with the injury. At least they're trying,
all right, at least they recognize we had a flaw there.
Was an issue, and let's go out and they are
going to bring back an entirely new offensive line next year.
I don't know. I'm assuming it's gonna be better based
on what we saw in the Super Bowl. But at
least Patrick Mahomes is going to feel a little bit

(21:36):
better and a little bit more comfortable behind that old line.
Oh I've been a night and day better. I mean,
think about this. I mean, for for storage, you get
Lauren Duvenate already coming back. He opted out last year,
ended up helping those dealing with COVID up in Canada,
so I was doing a great thing. Felt like that
was more important. He's decided, you know, come back. So
at the very least, Till add depth that group. But
he was a guy who was a starter. We'll see

(21:58):
what Kyle Long has left in the tank. If if
the time off he spent he was able to recover
he's I mean, that's a huge gig because he's a
hell of a player. I mean it's a Pro Bowl
caliber player. You know you got Revers now has experienced
the right tackle spot. Who knows if he'll end up
staying there. I know they're like the Lucas Nyang who
was third round pick in he could be a potentially

(22:19):
gotta slide there or or one one no go. I
think that's how you pronounce it. Um. But picking up Tuny,
picking up Orlando Brown a trade like this group is
now solidified where kids. I mean, I know Sampa talks about, hey,
let's let's run it back. Kansas City is gonna be
the team to be in the a f C. No
if ands or butts about it. If they get better
on defense in this draft, I'm telling you that this

(22:41):
team is going to be showing up super Bowl after
super Bowl after super Bowl. I'll be shocked if that
wasn't the case. Yeah, I was thinking about we were
talked about the Super Bowl hangover, and they just went
from recent years, did I feel confident that San Francisco
was going to get back to the Super Bowl? And
I thought, okay, well, there was still question marks there,
whether it was Garoppolo and just inconsistently inconsistency or staying healthy.

(23:04):
But really with Kansas City, it's not like they have
a bunch of holes on their team. The one glaring
issue they had they addressed it as we talked about,
so that that feels like if there's gonna be a
team who's going to right the wrong and and you know,
uh spit in the wind of the Super Bowl hangover,
just like the Patriots did a couple of years ago.
And it feels like it's gonna be Kansas City. And

(23:25):
I'm telling you this, this is an easy chalk pick.
I would not at all be surprised if we ended
up with a rematch in the Super Bowl. I think
both these teams are gonna be good. I think they're
both gonna make deep runs. I think they're both gonna
be good. And this sounds This sounds odd, and in
part because usually the team that loses has a harder
time making it back. It's just it's hard to think

(23:46):
that as good as the Bills were last year that
they'll be able to replicate that. It's hard to think
that there's gonna be other competition. I mean, Ben had
a good statistical year. I don't know where that team
is gonna be. You know, this year, that was the
other team that I think could compete. Cleveland's got to
take another step. Um. So I kind of look at
it like this, like even though there's usually a small

(24:06):
percentage chance the losing team makes it back. I think
they have a better percentage chance and and the reason
is this, Tampa signed a lot of guys that were
there back and thinking that they're gonna be able to
run this thing back. I don't know that it always
works out the way, especially when you've got a lot
of veteran guys. You know, injuries started to play a
factor and all that, you got a seventeenth game and
extra game. It's just it'll be interesting to see how

(24:28):
that potentially takes a toll on this team and what
this team looks like. I think the best thing for
Tampa moving forward is they are by far and away
the favor of the division. You weren't going to say
that last year with Drew Brees and the Saints. Now
that Drew's gone, that door is wide open. Tom kind
of finds himself in the same spot he was in
the NFC East. Were like, they're gonna have whole build
advantage at least for our game and and what else

(24:50):
if not potentially being the number one overall seed. I
would love it if he actually revealed after he retired
that part of the reason why he chose the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers is because of the crap that was in
the NFC South. I would I would love if we
do just it replicated the a f CST. What do
you want me to do? Yeah, the truth of the
matter is it really did. It really did transform and

(25:10):
kind of started to teeter towards the end of his
time in New England like it didn't used to be
that way. They don't see South. I mean, if you
think about it between how good the Saints have been consistently,
the fact that you had it seem in Carolina, who
had made it to a Super Bowl in the past
what six years, seven years, whatever it's been, Atlanta went
to one. I mean not many other divisions can say that.
And and so he just I don't know, man, maybe

(25:31):
it's better to be lucky than good, but he happens
to be both, so you guess doesn't matter. Brady Quinn
Jonas knocks here. Fox Sports Radio are coming up next.
We're gonna get to the bottom of this scam in
the NFL, this Jersey scam in the NFL that you
all have something to do with. We'll have that for
you next here on Fox Sports Radio. But for all
the latest from around the world of sports, including the

(25:51):
Tattoos show at Dodger Stadium. It's Padres fan himself, Steve
to Seger. Imagine who just hit a home run at
Dodgers at m Yeah. Going to the bottom of the
fourth in l A, it's Dodgers to one over San
Diego Dustin May. Tonight's l A starting pitcher had thrown
three perfect innings with four strikeouts. He's up to six ks. Uh,
he's just ended the fourth. But to tease hit one out.

(26:14):
You know, he was batting about one fifty going into
this series with plenty of air, starting a fourteen year contract,
and here this weekend. He had a two homer game
against Clayton Kershaw Friday, two homer's last night against Trevor Bauer. Now,
a home run in this game over four hundred feet
and it gets the Padres on the board. F y I.
The record in Major League history how many games in

(26:34):
a row to hit a home run is eight straight games.
Ken Griffey Jr. Was the last to do that. Steve,
do you think they'll get to a point where they
just start walking him. Well, this is the advantage that
he's on a Padre team that has an actual lineup
on like most of the Padre teams of the last decade,
they're they're batting him first. If it gets to that,
what you say, they could just bat him second and

(26:56):
have Machado bat behind him. They can they have you know,
half really good players top of the lineup. So his
batting average up to about two thirty. Steve was it
a good decision for ESPN last week and when we
were working to not have them being what's going on here.
There's been seven games between these two in San Diego
last weekend, in l A this weekend. They've all seven

(27:18):
been great and now with the schedule, they're not going
to face each other for another couple of months. So yeah,
we talked about that, that flex scheduling that was needed,
especially because it's Sunday night baseball. Sometimes you get lost
in the woods with some of the matchups and you
get stuck with some things. And frankly, a lot of people,
especially with the excitement as it built last weekend, You're right,
would have liked to see this matchup these two teams.

(27:42):
I can't wait to see the rest of the games
between these two teams the rest of the year. And
I'm not alone in people that love baseball. This has
been great. The actually pointed that out first last week
on Twitter. I think he was the one who pointed
that outs he wanted to see was it was that man?
That wasn't you wanting complaining because you don't have to
watch the Cubs get embarrassed on national television. Another chance

(28:03):
for live bet loser to live up to be. There
was a double header in Atlanta today after yesterday's rain out,
and Arizona shut out the Braves in each game five
nothing and seven nothing. Now these days doubleheaders are seven
innings each, So when Madison bum Gardner had seven no
hit innings in the nightcap, it doesn't officially count as

(28:24):
a no hitter because it wasn't a nine inning game.
He threw seven hitless innings, gets the win and that's
that seven nothing Arizona the finals, So they don't count
that as a as a no hitter. No, they used to,
like you know, you go back twenty years, if there
was a rainout and the guy was throwing it happened
I think in Montreal, five inning, perfect game, and hey,
that was all we had as far as innings tonight.
That used to go in the book. Now it doesn't

(28:46):
remember when Andy Hawkins was on the losing end of
throwing a no hitter because of errors the other team scored.
That wouldn't count either. It has to be nine innings
and winning the game. Does does bumb Gardner have a
no hitter in his career? Does he have another one?
I'm trying to remember if he did, because if he doesn't.
If he doesn't, that would piss me off. If I
finished my career and I said, yeah, I had a
no hitter, but it was only a seven inning no hitter,

(29:07):
like that would kiss me off. You better have another one.
That would be the story of your life too. Like
that would that would definitely happen to you if you
were a major league pitcher. Absolutely, I know it. Thank you,
Thank you for that. His old team, the Giants fourteen
and eight now after edging Miami fourth three in Colorado,
beat Philadelphia twelve to Brad Keslowski won NASCAR's five hundred
at Talladega on Fox TV today, and he led only

(29:30):
the last lap in overtime. The next four Sunday races
will be on FS one, including next week from Kansas.
Kevin Durant returned playing off the bench at Brooklyn for
thirty three points in twenty eight minutes. The Nets beat
Phoenix one. Nineteen wins for Charlotte and Memphis as well,
Memphis sending Portland to a fifth straight loss. Among the
games in progress, Washington has won seven in a row,

(29:52):
but they're losing at home to Cleveland seventy seventy one
mid third Quarterback to you, thanks, Steve Jonas knocks Brady
Quinn here on Ox Sports Radio. You can hang out
with us as always on the I Heart Radio app. Reminder,
top of next hour, we are going to have Brady
Quinn's explosive mock draft. Right. It is a tradition unlike

(30:12):
any other here on fs are where Brady Quinn uh
tells you exactly what is going to happen in the
top ten. And I'll give you credit because at least
you have the balls to include trades. A lot of
people that do this stuff don't have the balls to
include trades. You actually put in the time and you
you do trades. Thank you, Thank you. I try it. Actually, Um,
I won't say you know who or or how it

(30:34):
ended up happening, but uh yeah, might have a little action,
little action in the top ten this year. Um, you
know heard from a bird that maybe, uh, if the
right guys there, maybe this team would make the move. Okay,
look at Dad, you look at you with your with
sources doing a little bit of prep for this mock
draft you got coming up all right, coming up next though,

(30:54):
we have got ourselves a scam in the NFL. It
is a full blown scam. We get to the bottom
of it with inside information. It's yours next year. On
fs ARE, He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is
Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us as
always on the I Heart Radio app. Coming up top
the next hour, we'll call it. About fifteen minutes from

(31:17):
now here on fs ARE, we are going to have
the first half of our explosive mock drafts. If you
wonder what those are, it is basically where Brady Quinn
picks the top ten and I picked the bottom ten
of the entire draft. He's the top on the bottom.
And it's the way we do this every single April
for the draft. In that right, I got top bunk,
you have bottom bunk. And that's how we roll with

(31:38):
this thing. Yeah, it's yeah, it's like like the movie
Big when she sleeps over at Tom Hanks's house and
they share bunks. Yeah, that's what That's what it is. Um,
all right, since we uh we uh, you know, shift
away from all that awkwardness and very creepy discussion, uh,
and we shift over to this Brady Quinn because the
NFL apparently, and I didn't even know this was a thing.

(32:02):
If you want to switch numbers in the NFL, it's
a big task. In fact, it's a one point five
million dollar task if you're Dalvin Cook, who allegedly wanted
to switch to number four as they're relaxing the restrictions
on some of these jerseys in the NFL, the the
numbers that you can wear, and he wanted to switch
to number four, only to find out that there's a

(32:24):
rule where you must buy up all the inventory of
your thirty three jerseys before you can switch, and that
would have cost him about one point five million dollars.
I don't know about you, and I don't know a lot,
but this sounds like a complete and total scam. It
sounds like the players are getting screwed in all this.
To be honest with you, they are. And and so
there's there's there's a similar situation with me. But the

(32:45):
Jersey inventory definitely wasn't one point five million worth, but
it was six figures. And here's the thing, is like
my response because I was number nine when I first
got to Denver, when I got traded there from Cleveland.
Jabbar Gaffey at that's time was an older veteran, had
a lot of respect from I loved watching him play
at Florida and to follow his career. And when he

(33:06):
got there, I was like, I'm not even gonna ask.
I felt disrespectful. I didn't want to do it. Um,
And so I just said, you know what, we'll see.
I got it. I got two years here. If that
number opens up, I'll go get it the next year.
And so Jabbar ended up not returning in two thousand eleven.
So I go to our equipment manager. I go to
Flip and I said, hey, Flip, I want I want

(33:26):
to be number ten, Like let's start the process of
doing that and everything else. He says okay. He comes
back and says, hey, um, you're gonna pay a hundred
fifty dollars to do it. And I'm looking at me,
go what, I go A hundred fifty dollars for what.
He goes, well, there's an inventory. I go inventory. I
was don't even play last year. I was like, who's
who's got a hundred fifty thousand dollars with my jersey

(33:47):
inventory sitting around? And I was like I thought these
things were like made to order, And he's like no,
He's like, if you want the number ten, you gotta
you gotta spend a hundred fifty grand and then figure
out and you have to like figure out what to
do with the jerseys. And so I literally looked into
I kid you not. I kid you not. I looked
into much like you see when people used to pre

(34:09):
make those like Final four or National Championship t shirts
or like who won the Super Bowl? When you get
the team that actually lost, they like donate them over
to like a third world country. I looked into doing that,
like there was gonna be a bunch of like people
running around and like Brady Quinn Denver Bronco number nine
jerseys somewhere like another continent. Um And And at the

(34:31):
end of the day, I came back and I was like,
I cannot justify to my parents spending money for a
number right, Like I just I couldn't. I couldn't fathom that.
So I remember I went back to my equipment Mantage
and I was like, who the hell told these people
to make this much of an invatory? Like why do
I have to flip that bill for their poor business mistake? Um?

(34:53):
And so that's that's my biggest gripe with all this
is I get it, you know, players get a percentage
of those jerseys saying else, But the reality is we
shouldn't have to face all of the downside if we
want to change a number, and reason being is this,
it's only going to increase revenue then, Like once Dalvin
Cook was to change his number one, there's some people

(35:15):
who would look at his old number as vintage, much
like Lebron who has had multiple numbers throughout his career
or Michael Jordan who had multiple numbers in his career.
People look at us kind of like, oh, yeah, you
had like the Dalvin Cook thirty three. I was like,
back before each I mean, there's like some kind of
cool vintagenus to it. And on top of it, they're
only gonna be able to make more off of that
and maybe even still sell some of the older ones.

(35:37):
But if not they'll take the right off. But I
don't know how that's on the athlete when you get
a rule change like this, like that's something that should
have been collectively bargained and changed. I don't know how
it is and other other leagues. My assumption would say
it's the same. But based on how bad the c
p A is for the NFL players, I wouldn't be
shocked if they just didn't get hosed compared to every

(35:58):
other sports league. See. I think the reason behind it
is they're looking out for the fans, because the fans
feel like, oh my god, if I buy some guy's
jersey and next thing you know, um, he switches numbers,
I'm getting screwed. Okay, Well, it's the same thing if
you buy some jersey and and and it's the same
thing as if you buy a guy's jersey and the

(36:20):
team trades him a week later, Like are you just
the team have to give them all? Yeah? Like that.
So this the whole idea that the players should be
responsible for it. It's not their problem. And I get
news for you, man, the NFL is making enough money.
The idea they're gonna hold players hostage because they want
to switch numbers. They want to, you know, make a
change at some point in their career. Give me a break.

(36:42):
I will say this. The move for you should have
been to buy up all those Brady Quinn number ten
jerseys or would have been number nine jerseys, correct for
the for the Broncos, all right, and you should have
sent him over to Ireland. I mean, could you imagine that,
like like like an Irish gang, like that was their
apparel they were walking around the would have done used

(37:03):
those as dish rags for all the bars and all
the pubs whatever, wiping up all the beer and jamison
shots from the night before. Hey whatever, man, Let's let
me tell you something. You want to know, A compliment
If you ever go to a restroom somewhere and you
see your face on a urnal cake, that's a compliment,
all right, So dish rag urnal cake. I don't care
what it is like. If you can get that kind
of promotion somewhere, you go and get that type of promotion.

(37:26):
You should have sent those jerseys off to Ireland and
there would have been kids running around the streets of
Dublin throwing up gang signs, yelling out b Q b Q.
I'm telling you you missed an opportunity there. But never
mind all that they should not have you just smart,
you just spark something though. I don't know when your
birthday is, but whatever it is, I think I think
you know what birthday get from me to get you
next year? What's that? Well? Your face on like a

(37:48):
urnal kid? I would love it. I swear to God,
that'd be the most the biggest compliment I've ever gotten
in my life. I would love have your brother throw
him in the bar. Haven't thrown in there? Man? Yeah,
that's a great idea. Of course, Why wouldn't I do that?
Just to continue to insult myself in front of my family? Okay?
What is Let me let me just ask you this.

(38:09):
What would you have been willing to pay to get
that jersey? Right? If it wasn't gonna be a hundred
and fifty thousand or six figures? What would you have been?
What was your top price that you would have been
willing to pay to make sure you could switch over
at number ten? Like? Like, what's if they the NFL
setting you work? I tend to be pretty frugal about
these sorts of decisions. I would I personally, I love

(38:32):
my number ten like the backstory in our high school
where I'm from, and what it meant growing up, and
what it meant to have someone you know, tap you
as the next person to wear it. It was special,
like my my journey to Notre Dame and just how
they go about doing it. Usually they have your when
you go in to visit Notre Dame, you're gonna walk
into the stadium and when you walk in the locker room,

(38:55):
they're gonna have your jersey, that number, whatever you were
in high school. They're gonna have a hanging up that
locker and it's gonna live all of the all Americans,
all of the greats that ever played before you that
wore that number, because we don't have names in the
back of our jerseys. And so when I walked up
to my locker, there was none, and it said, you know,
make your own legend or become your own legend. And
I thought that was one of the coolest things. I

(39:15):
was like, that's that's like a pretty motivating thing to see.
And so that was, you know, one of the motivating
things when my awards head, it's like, make it so
you see it in the bookstores, make it so you
see people wearing your number because that's that's the only
way they could identify with you. You know, they didn't.
It wasn't like they had oh, you know, number ten
with Quinn on the back. They just had a number.
And so because that number was so rare there, I

(39:37):
was like, all right, this this thing is meaningful now,
like I want to make it meaningful here. See that's
I mean when Fox Sports Radio recruited me, they just
told me to take out the garbage the first day,
Like I didn't get any of that love like you
actually like you actually were wanted. You were wanted by
Notre Dame. That was that was a So that's what
they do. They put every player that's ever warned the
jersey inside the locker room. Just see you know who

(39:57):
who else has has warned the jersey? Who was It's
it's it's pretty neat. I mean obviously then going through
the tunnel after that, you know, hitting the play like
a champion sign all that good stuff. It's a pretty
nice cell. You know. It kind of speaks for itself. Yeah,
I mean, it's much better than that lie they told
everybody about Rudy. I mean, you know, like I'm just
I'm just saying like, at least they're being honest for once.
You know, let me live. I mean, don't don't hit

(40:19):
him because he made a movie about himself right now.

It is Brady Quinn's explosive mock Draft, a top ten
mock draft for the upcoming draft. It is officially Draft

(41:25):
Week and we will have that for a year. In
just a couple of moments from now. That guy is
Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio.
You can hang out with us on the I Heart
Radio app and on every single one of our affiliates
wherever you are. We appreciate you making us part of
your Sunday evening and saying screw you to the Oscars,
Brady Quinn. People listening to this program have grabbed their

(41:48):
crotch and said, screw you to the Oscars. We want
to listen to Quos, Knox and Quinn here on a
Sunday night. How about that? That's right? I mean, that's
that's making a statement, and that's what we're about. That's
we're about to do, doing a top ten mock traft
right now for this year's NFL Draft, but also your
bottom Town, which I gotta be honest with you, man,

(42:08):
I'm more excited for because here's the thing. You know,
all these guys, we're gonna be seeing them probably play
on Sundays. The majority of these guys drafted at some
point we'll see them on the field. You're gonna introduce
ten people that most of these people have never heard
of before. Okay, and so you're you get you got that,
or you can go sit there and watch the Oscars

(42:29):
and you know, a bunch of you know, celebrities yucking
it up over there, you know, just yucking it up,
just chatting about this and that, yucking it up over
there on stage, talking about some movies, which again, uh,
de Segre doesn't even know the last movie he saw.
You couldn't recall Bobo. I don't know. I think he
saw an adult film recently told me. But that was
about it. And then Lee really didn't chime in last night.

(42:52):
By the way, Lee the Lab did have a Mortal
Kombat theme party. It was great. Lee. Who would you
dress up as like Arctic Freeze or whatever? Sub Zero? Yeah,
I wrapped the towel around my neck. Yeah, it was
sub zero. Wear my masked sub Zero. I mean, you know,

(43:12):
when you're get in a cold pool, you get out,
you know, you know what I'm talking about. Do you
think he deals with a little bit of that? Oh um,
he's probably used to it. You think that's what is Yeah, Well,
I mean it's no one ever talked about that sub
Zero dealing with shrinkage, you know, I don't think anyone's
ever wondered that it's why he's mad at Scorpion, right, yeah,

(43:33):
I mean that's why he's all the time. But Brady's
got a good point. It's why they never film adult
movies in the idea rods, you know, the idea rod races,
you know. Or it's why sub Zeros never you know,
made a cameo in in a porn film. Yeah, that's
that's that's very good. Quin didn't I mean, I didn't
know we were probably wrong there. Yeah, I didn't know

(43:54):
we were making this turn here, but here we are
probably wrong. Wa wave to the onlookers. Here we are
at an awkward stage of the program. All right, So
Brady Quinn, uh, if you're ready to go. By the way,
I noticed that lie bet Jesus didn't show up in
his normal time slot. That's weird, right, Who cares? I mean,
it's it's better off he's not here. I could be
honest with you. Who cares? Very good? So there it is, uh,

(44:16):
and we are going to get to Brady Quinn's explosive
mock draft. We do want to let you know though,
that we are brought to you by Discover. Discover matches

(44:38):
year we've been waiting for this. It's a year in
the making. It's time for another edition of this. Now
it's time for Brady Quinn's explosive Mack Draft number one

(44:58):
Jacksonville Jaguar. They start off a new era with a
new head coach, one that I'm oh so familiar with,
an urban Meyer, trying to rebuild back up what was
really an expansion team had some of its moments in
the past. But I gotta be honest with you, folks,
if you were looking at taking a young prospective quarterback
to build your franchise around, they happen to hit the

(45:21):
jackpot because Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson is going to
be an absolute stud. He's at more athletic than I
think anyone realized. He can throw from the pocket, he
can throw on the room. He's it's an absolute laser show.
Anytime he's on the field, he will be and is
the number one pick of my NFL mock Draft, our

(45:42):
first edition. The first pick, it is Trevor Lawrence out
of Clemson, Jonas. There's no surprise here. I mean I'm
surprised after I mean, he looked the comments he had
in Sports illustrated. You're still gonna draft that guy number one.
I don't know, not on my team, and I need
somebody who's all locked in on football and only folks
stunt football and has no life outside of football. I
think that's a disaster of a pick, to be honest

(46:04):
with you. Well, then then I'm glad I picked him
because we were trying to save your bottom tennis. Listen,
I'm not giving away any surprises here. I don't know.
I don't know what's going to happen in my bottom
ten doesn't matter. Number two, number two, the New York Jets,
they find themselves well, and I guess you'd say in
a familiar position. Now we saw just a few years

(46:25):
ago them select Sam Donald number three overall. But with
the recent transaction trading him to the Carolina Panthers, it
opens up the next worst kept secret in the NFL,
and that's that they need a quarterback and it sounds like, again,
this is not the quarterback that I would necessarily identify
as the second best, but it is the one that

(46:46):
they've identified as the one they think can turn around
the New York Jets franchise. That is Zack Wilson at
of b y U. He goes number two overall. Look,
this young man had a special season this past year
for b y U. Really showcased his arm talent and
ability to articulate his arm to extend plays, to throw

(47:06):
off platform, and he doesn't have to set his feet.
He can throw on his run and do some special stuff.
He reminds me a lot of Derek Carr coming out
of Fresno State. But Zack Wilson's the number two overall
pick in this year's draft, and now do you think
he'll do what a former b y U quarterback did
once Jim McMahon when he was drafted by the Bears.
He got out of the limo when he pulled up

(47:28):
to the Bears facility and he was drinking a beer, like,
just got out a little bit, had a beer in
his hand. Rookie in the end, do not imagine that
that's going to be the case. I could be wrong.
I could be wrong. Number three, Number three is the
San Francisco forty nine is. Remember, folks, they traded up
to this spot. And you really only sacrifice this sort

(47:49):
of draft capital with the Miami Dolphins unless you've targeted
a quarterback. And we've talked about this at length, right,
why would you trade up the number three and potentially
get the third best quarterback in this draft class. Well,
they might not think he's the third best because remember
Robert Sala, the head coach for the New York Jets. Yeah,
he used to be the defensive coordinator of San Francisco

(48:11):
forty Niners. I imagine they talked about who they liked,
who they're gonna take, and it might be different than
the San Francisco Forts and what they're thinking. So San Francisco,
even though they have a guy like Jimmy Garoppolo his contract, well,
there's not a ton of dead cap on the books
if they want to move on from him, and there
may be some willing suitors to trade him. So I've

(48:31):
got the San Francisco forty Niners taking Justin Fields, the
quarterback out of Ohio State, to put a dual threat
quarterback in Kyle Shanahan's off offense something that is gonna
be explosive. He's gonna be a run threat. And even
though he's not a finished product by any means, there's
no better play caller than Kyle Shanahan in the NFL

(48:53):
for maximizing a young passer and playing to his strength.
So it's justin fields going to the forty niners the
three overall, you see, you can make some money on that.
Because mac Jones is the favorite. You can make some
plus money. It's gone back and forth. That's right. It was.
It was justin Fields last week. It's now Mac Jones
number four. Number four is the Atlanta Falcons really the

(49:16):
first spot you're looking at saying, well, they don't need
a quarterback, right They've got Matt Ryan. He's under a
gigantic contract and the Falcons can't get from underneath it.
They do have a new front office, they do have
a new head coach. Arthur Smith now takes over, and
I'm gonna be honest with you, I think him taking
over has a lot to do with the fact that
Matt Ryan is there similar skill set, maybe even less

(49:36):
athletic than what he saw or had in Tennessee. With
Ryan Tannehill, and so I don't think they need a
quarterback in this spot. I think that they want to
get one they can in a letter you know later
portion of the draft. So the Atlanta Falcons and number
four overall, they just take the best prospect overall, and
that is probably what would have been the number one
wide receiver. But he has no doubt. The number one
tight end an absolute adonis and that is Al Pitts,

(50:00):
the tight end out of Florida to match up with
the playmaking ability of Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley. My goodness,
who's gonna be able to stop this group? Jonas? All Right,
be honest with me. When you get together with other
quarterbacks and quarterbacks who have run into either a bad franchise,
not enough around him, they've taken a beating at certain

(50:21):
points during their career just based on the lack of talent.
Do you guys get together and look at Matt Ryan
and go that lucky bastard man like he ends up
with every weapon. Julio Jones, Ronny White, Kyle Pitts, Michael Turner,
DeVonta Freeman, Tony Gonzalez. I mean, it does not stop
Calvin Ridley. How many more weapons can one quarterback get?

(50:41):
You've got You've got to get together with quarterbacks and
look at this guy and go, but the hell's this guy?
Why does he get all the luck? Why does he
get all the talent around him? You know, I never
thought that, but now now that you brought that up, Yeah,
I kind of a jealous. I mean, he's literally thrown
to at least two Hall of Fame and probably some
others that were perennial Pro Bowlers or I mean, Calvin
Ridley is a study. He's gonna be on a great

(51:02):
career path. And you had Roddy White when he first
got there. I mean, he's he has had a lot
of a lot of guys to throw too, So I
think you're right. I mean, maybe I've underscored that, but
when you look at his production, when you look at
the production of a guy like Matt Stafford, you kind
of forget. He came in the league with a future
Hall of Famer and Calvin Johnson he was strolling too,
So that that does make life a little easier. But

(51:24):
that's also I think what the thought process is here.
They're they're gonna be working progress on defense, We've got
to outscore opponents, and that's what they're doing by getting
a guy like Kyle Pitts number five the Cincinnati Bengals. Man,
I mean, what can you say about them that if
it looks like they found their quarterback for the future
and Joe Burrow and what do we see last year?
I couldn't stay healthy. That offensive line was atrocious last

(51:47):
year and Joe Burrow got beat up because of it.
So what do you do when you've got the number
five overall pick. Well, they picked up the phone a
number of times, potentially thought about trading back. But but
here's the problem. They feel like Pinnai Seul left tackle
out of organ is too good to pass up on.
And this guy would be a perfect fit for the
blindside left tackle spot. That allows them to move around

(52:10):
some pieces too. If you if you don't remember Jonah Williams,
who was the first round pick from a couple of
years ago, they can move him to right tackle. It
helps solidify the edges, It helps them and potentially improve
to and play their best five offensive lineman on the
field to protect Joe Burrow so he's not dealing with
having to recover from a torn a c l once again,
but it's Pine sut of organ as the number five

(52:31):
overall pick. You have any concerns that he's gonna come back,
and there's gonna be any hold on hold on a
second alert. There's a trade alert. In fact, the number
six pick the Miami Dolphins. Remember the Dolphins traded out
of number three, back to twelve and then back up
to six, right, they traded with Philly, and so now

(52:52):
the Dolphins are trading back and it's with the Denver Broncos.
The Denver Broncos who were originally at number nine. Jonas said,
I think they've identified a quarterback. And look, this is
the trade stipulation. Okay, Denver gets the number six pick
overall this year, Miami slides back to number nine in
the first round, but they also get Denver's third round

(53:14):
pick this year in which is number seventy one overall,
and Denver's fifth round pick, which is number one fifty
two overall to make this move. So some some decent
draft capital. They're a couple of the quality chances to
get get some good players. But it looks like the
Denver Broncos have identified a quarterback and they have it's
Mac Jones out of Alabama. He goes number six overall

(53:37):
to Denver. Even though John always not the man in
charges George Patton, they are still trying to find the
air apparent to replace what was the Hall of Famer
paidon Manning, really the last quarterback to bring them that
sort of success. So it looks like the writings on
the wall for Drew lock Jonas. Wow, I thought for
sure it was gonna be Trail Lance. I'm stunned that
you think it's gonna be Mac Jones. Stunned that you

(53:59):
think Mac Jones is the EI there. Okay, yeah, well,
I mean maybe he needed to talk to some people.
You need to talk to some people. Number seven, we've
got the Detroit Lions, and look, they had a big
time trade this offseason as Dan Campbell has taken over
as head coach. Um, you saw them allow Matt Stafford
to move on to l A and exchange they pick

(54:20):
up Jared Goff. But this is a roster that it
needs some help and it could be defense, could be offense.
But right now they know this. If they want to
maximize what they got in exchange for Matt Stafford and
Jared Goff, they got to find him someone to throw to,
and so that's gonna be the first wide receiver taken
in this year's draft, which is a deep draft, one
with a lot of talent. Jamaar Chase out of l

(54:43):
s U, even though he sat out this past season,
his two thousand nineteen film was too good to pass up.
He ends up being the go to guy for Jared
Goffe for at least this year as the Lions are
looking at rebuilding number eight. The Carolina Panthers a number
eight overall, and there's some different directions they could go here.

(55:04):
It was a young defense last year, spent a lot
of their draft capital on that side of the football.
Now I think it's gonna it's gonna have to be
someone to help Sam Donald their big trade acquisition. So
it ends up being left tackle Rashawn Slater out of Northwestern,
number of guys they were looking at, but they feel
like Slater is going to be the most versatile and

(55:24):
the next solid player to help maximize the Sam Donald trade.
You know how to press. Panther fans are gonna be
because they've been here in trade rumors, movement, this, this, this,
and this. Maybe we'll get a quarterback. We get Sam
Donald and then you need to settle on an offensive tackle.
It's the smart pick, but offensive lineman don't really get
fan base is excited when you draft him eye, it
just doesn't. It's on the sex. I think that's the

(55:45):
biggest mistake you can make. Because one of the biggest
things Tampa did this offseason they took Tristan Worth's last
year in the draft. Look how well that offensive line
ran the football in the playoffs and protect the Tom Brady.
By the end of the year, Tristan Worse was the
best offensive tackle and it paid off dividends for Tom
Brady number nine. The Miami Dolphins now are picking. Remember

(56:07):
they dropped back from that number six spot. They've been
jumping around left and right. Well, now they find themselves
in a spot with a need for a playmaker. And
Jamaar Chase might have been a guy they contemplated. But
now they've got two. A song by lower at quarterback,
and we know his background he went to Alabama. There's
a couple of wide receivers who could potentially, you know,

(56:27):
pick at this point in time. One though they've got
too many questions about, and That'stavante Smith. So they're not
going with Smith. Instead, they're going with Jalen Waddle, the
speedster who can play special teams as well as take
the top off of the defense. Jalen Waddle ends up
being the number nine overall pick to the Miami Dolphins
to pair with two a songled by lower number ten.

(56:51):
The Dallas Cowboys run out the top ten of this
year's draft, and they've got some big time needs in
particular on defense and at the cornerback spot. And look,
Alabama won the National championship for a reason. There was
a lot of talent there and probably no one better
showcase than Patrick Curtan, their cornerback from Alabama, a plug

(57:12):
in play cornerback, one that is an absolute lockdown corner
that should be able to help that defense um be
able to kind of turn and turn the page moving
forward under Mike McCarthy. So this is the point of
the draft where I think you're gonna start to see
a run on cornerbacks. Patrick certain is the best of
the group Jonas, so Dallas gets some help on defense,
and there it is Brady Quinn's two thousand, twenty one

(57:35):
explosive mock draft the top ten. A blockbuster trade Uh,
that was really well done. And you included trade value,
which which I'm too lazy to do when it comes
to any trades that I include in the draft because
I don't understand how all that works. But we do
have lots to get into when it comes to that
mock draft, because something tells me that people are looking

(57:58):
at the wrong team when it comes to selecting a quarterback.
He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio.
And if it plays out like Brady Quinn thinks it's
gonna play out, that means somebody is gonna be sitting
there for the taking later on the quarterback that might
fall in the draft. We'll have it for you next
year on fs ARE. He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox.

(58:20):
This is Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with
us as always on the I Heart Radio app. Coming
up in we will call it less than ten minutes
from now, a little over five minutes from now, to
be exact, We're gonna have another edition of Headline or Lie.
It is the number one rated game show anywhere on
sports radio on Sunday nights, and that's really saying something.

(58:41):
I mean that that is an accomplishment here, but it
is the number one rated game show on sports talk
radio every Sunday night, and you can be a part
of it. Eight seven seven on Fox is the phone
number you can team up with Brady Quinn or myself.
We're looking for two participants, two people with the balls
to call all into national radio to hang out with

(59:01):
Brady Quinn and myself for a few minutes here eight
seven seven six six three six nine. Headliner Lie coming
up in a little over five minutes from now, and
Brady Quinn, you just have one request for anybody that
calls in, correct, I mean there's really not that company. Yeah,
at this hour of the day. Look, most people are
kind of starting to calm down a little bit, but
it is five o'clock somewhere. So if you're drinking a

(59:22):
dull beverage, go ahead, finish that one, make yourself or
grab another, because we'd like you to be a little
bit tuned up if you're gonna be a part of
Headliner line. Yeah, so listen and and keep it clean.
We're not looking for anybody to be belligerent, but if
you are belligerent, I would recommend your team up with
Brady Quinn, that would be my recommendation for you. All right, So,
Brady Quinn, I wanna you mentioned something in your mock draft.

(59:46):
You did your explosive mock draft. If you miss Brady
Quinn's explosive mock Draft, you can check it out on
the podcast that'll be up at Fox Sports Radio dot
com after the show is over. And you talked about
the Denver Broncos moving up because there's an opportunity to
get a quarterback, so they move up from nine all
the way to six and they go with Mac Jones.

(01:00:07):
So does that mean that you feel like Trey Lance
is going to fall out of the top ten? And
if so, is he just gonna be sitting there for
for for one of these teams. Maybe the Patriots to
be able to grab in that spot not that far away,
maybe jump up a couple of spots. The Patriots are
sitting at fifteen, outside of the Eagles, maybe at twelve.

(01:00:29):
I don't know that there's another team that's looking at
a quarterback in the draft. Do you mean to tell
me that Trey Lance could could realistically fall to New
England and fifteen if they so choose. Sure know that
there's no doubt he could. And so so here's my
concern about Trey Lance. And here's what I'm hearing just
talking to some people who are kind of in the know,
some you know some some you know people with certain teams.

(01:00:51):
There's just not a big enough sample size. And you know,
I think people are like, well, what about Carson Wentz,
You know, what about the lower level? I don't care
that he played a north to go to state. He
don't The one year he played, he was phenomenal. He
was a good decision maker. He demonstrated a strong arm,
good athleticism running the football, good decision makers, strong football,

(01:01:11):
all that stuff. You can see. He knows what they're
trying to accomplish. He knows how to work through his reading,
defense working through his reading. You can see all of that.
The things that that concern me is quarterback play is
about experience. Okay, you can sit in a driver's head
class all you want, and you can watch videos and

(01:01:31):
you can know all the laws, know all the rules,
But guess what, when you get behind that steering wheel,
it's a whole different world, all right. How you react,
how you drive, how you handle things stress or or
real life situations, that's a whole different deal. That's like
playing quarterback. You know, you can sit on a white
board and talk about scheme and stuff all you want.

(01:01:52):
You can do drills, you can throw on T shirt
and shorts, but how you actually play, how you lead
those men when you're out there. What do you do
when things break down and there's no one else out
there to help your bailing out by yourself? That that all,
that all comes down to reps. He's got less than
four attempts his entire career in college. In fact, you
go back to high school, he didn't play a ton,
so he is he is a very much developmental player who,

(01:02:15):
don't get me wrong, it reminds me of dak Pres
Scott as far as what he looks like as a
runner in kind of a prospect um. He's got a
strong arm, but you see a tendency to be a
little bit in accurate times, you know, consistently inaccurate. They
didn't rely on much the throw of foot point average
about eighteen attempts per game, and he was a part
of a program that was dominant at that level. So

(01:02:37):
my concern is this is if someone takes him in
the first round and what we see nowadays with a
trend of first round picks. For the most part, there
are exceptions. You'd say Patrick Mahomes in place first year,
not till week seventeen, but that was because he was
on a playoff team with a pro whole quarterback, in fact,
Alex Smith. That year he was drafted with the first
six games, you would have given the MVP. That's how

(01:02:59):
well he was playing. So that's why he didn't play
that year at least didn't get him to start for
any significant game besides weeks seventeen. So if Trey Lance
gets drafted, he's probably playing, and my concern is he's
probably not ready to yet. So that's why I think
there's a little bit of fearfulness about Tray Lance now,

(01:03:19):
is is some team potentially gonna take him because of
his upside and what he can potentially do. Sure, like
when you watch him move, when you watch him throw,
he's got a calm demeanor about him. As far as
his release and everything else, it's pretty you can see
the upside there, Like he could end up being the
best of this whole group when it's all said and done,
Like he could end up being that Josh Allen type
player when it's all said and done. But the reality

(01:03:42):
is you either got to be patient, you know, working
through the first couple of years, or you gotta put
him in a really good situation, you know, whether how
you're calling the players or with a team that's taken him.
So that's more of my concern. And that's just my
concern again just from playing the position. I could be wrong,
but you know that's how I see this potentially, you know,
working out Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox here on a Fox

(01:04:03):
Sports Radio. We are going to have a headline or
lie here coming up next on FSR eight seven seven
ninety nine on Foxes the phone number eight seven seven
nine six six three six nine. We're looking for two
participants if you want a team up with Brady Quinn
or myself for a little headliner lie that's coming up next.
But for all the latest from around the world of sports,
ladies and gentlemen. Steep to a great start for the Dodgers,

(01:04:27):
Dust and mate tonight against the Padres six innings, ten strikeouts,
his Dodgers lead to one going to the bottom of
the sixth against San Diego. The one for the Padres
a Fernando Tatis junr solo homer, his fifth this weekend,
and in the top of the sixth inning he just walked,
stole second, went to third on the ground out, but
Magot Manny Machado want to pop out to end the

(01:04:47):
inning and the Dodgers still have the lead. Earlier, Baltimore
beat Oakland eight to one. The Oakland offense went three
for twenty nine with ten strikeouts, so the a S
thirteen game winning streak ended. Arizona swept a doublehead or
five nothing and seven nothing in Atlanta. The game two
winner Madison bum Gardner, with seven innings and no hits allowed,
brought his EIRA this month down to six point three one.

(01:05:09):
Boston beat Seattle five to three. Eduardo Rodriguez the winning pitcher.
He's four and oh Matt Barnes is fourth save. The
Red Sox record fourteen and nine, the Giants fourteen and
eight after winning four three against Miami, and Colorado beat
Philadelphia twelve too. In the NBA, Washington has just won
it's eighth straight game, defeating Cleveland one nine one ten.
Bradley Beal thirty three points. Brooklyn down Phoenix today one

(01:05:33):
to one, nineteen Kevin Durant off the bench thirty three
points in twenty eight minutes. Charlotte and Memphis with wins.
The NBA regular season ends in three weeks. Baylor women's
basketball coach Kim Moulki is leaving for l s U.
Brad Keslowski won NASCAR's five hundred at Talladega. He led
only the last lap in overtime. William Byron was second,

(01:05:55):
extending his streak of top ten finishes to eight races.
And the Dodgers Jeff picked up a solo homer three
one l a over the Padres bottom of the six.
Back to you. Thanks. Steve Jonas knocks Brady Quinn here
on Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to. The show
is always on the I Heart Radio app. We will
have a headliner, Lie coming up here in just a moment. Brady.
We pointed it out. I know you and Steve are

(01:06:16):
really distraught because Live bet Jesus did not make an
appearance last hour in his normal time slot. We do
have an update. He has sent a tweet. He sends yeah.
He When he sends a tweet, that means he's usually
coming up. So I'm assuming he will be here in
about fifteen minutes from now on fs are. I mean,
that's that's good to hear, hoping it wasn't gonna show up,

(01:06:37):
but little a little bit of good news for you
here on a on a Sunday night, Brady Quinn, here's
some other good news. It's time for this turn. Is
it a headline or is it a lie? Let's go
to the news des Look. Now here's Jonas Knox and
Brady Quinn and here we go headliner live Fox Sports Radio.

(01:06:57):

have time to put the corn cattle, so I put
some of that in there. Actually, I'll be honest with you,
I want to try that. Why don't you just cut
up with that man and go lick the side of
a silo? It sounds weird. I had no idea that
was a thing. Wow. Interesting. Um, I'm not gonna ever
try it. But that's that's you can't child. Alright, alright,

(01:08:02):
now that's fair, that's fair. Who do you want to
team up with? You want a team up with Brady Quinny?
You want to teal on with myself? Yeah? I wanna.

BlackBerry whiskey and kid. Yeah, that is good. And I

the story. I didn't get the other number, Bro, so
I know, but so I got the collection. Al Right,

We'll talk to you after the game's done out. All right,
So here we go. This is that works. Guys. We
are going to read a headline or a lie. Uh.
The other guy's partner has to tell us whether or
not it is a headline or we made it up

(01:09:31):
and it's a lie. If we end up tied at
the end of this list, we go to sudden depth
the overtime, and we have a sudden depth overtime question
and Brady and I will take turns on all this.
So here we go. Let's get it started. Brady Quinn's
partner Thomas in Iowa. You are first up here on
headline or Lie Thomas headline or Lie. A Pennsylvania man
was arrested last week after he broke into a woman's

(01:09:53):
home and stole her sex toys. Headline. Well that's correct.
That's a fast story. That's a fast star right there.
Very excited with that answer. Yeah, I like that. Alright,
big al Here we go headline or Lie. A couple
plans a whole wedding at a mansion they thought was vacant.
Cops were called as guests started arriving. Headline about okay, confident,

(01:10:18):
confident couple of couple of guys here Brady Quinn, I
like it all right, Here we go Thomas and Iowa,
Brady Quinn's partner headline or Lie and Ohio man nicknamed
the meat Wagon was kicked off a flight recently after
telling fellow passengers that Dr Fauci was a fraud. Lie

(01:10:41):
actually could be debatable at this album. Have to wait
and see. All right, Hi, big Alli, here we go, Lee.
I hope you you edited this one before, just in
case we get in trouble. All right, here we go,
Big Out headline or Lie. Orgasmic Meditation group One Taste
was making millions and endorsed by the High Priestess of

(01:11:02):
the Vagina, Gwyneth Paltrow. Now the defunct cult faces sex
trafficking and prostitution allegations. Truth. Okay, how about headline Mandlin. Yeah,

(01:11:22):
we spent a half hour promoting headline all right. Yeah,
by the way, there's there's a lot going on with
that headline. There's a lot going on with that headline.
All right, Here we go headline or lie. Fox Sports Radio,
Thomas Brady, Quinn's partner, We are all tied up here
on headline or lie, headliner lie. A recent study shows

(01:11:47):
that of athletes and celebrities on Twitter don't know what
the hell they're talking about. Line. I'm sorry one more time, headline.
I mean, listen, it's listen. It's probably true, probably may
be true. I mean, we will get where you're going there.
Thomas Well worries about that one again. But but I'm

(01:12:08):
not They didn't want to bring Lebron James up here.
But I just said, bubble is gonna be triggered by that.
Here we go, big al headline or lie. A Japanese
man was arrested after dating thirty five women at the
same time and a bid to get birthday presents headline. Yes, hey,

(01:12:34):
by the way, what a move. What a move? I mean,
I would be thinking you'd be doing it for other reasons,
but everyone's got their own on progative you look, man,
maybe he grew up poor. That's the only way you
could get birthday celebrated. Yeah, go ahead, man, I delivered
for you, big boy. I appreciate it. This it's not

(01:12:55):
over yet though, we're not. We're not celebrating yet. Right now,
we go back over to Thomas Brady, Quinn's partner in Iowa.
Thomas Headline or Lie. You are now trailing three to two.
This is a crucial point in the game, Thomas Headliner Lie.
Police police are on the lookout for two men who
started a brawl at a Fort Lauderdale restaurant this past week.

(01:13:15):
The men were described wearing T shirts that read quote
past the p E D. Because we're Dublin Coffman High
School class of two thousand three. Are you right, yeah,
Fort Lauderdale. Yes, that's gotta be headline stood down? Oh man,
are you serious? Serious? Hey? Hey, can you give your headliner? Lie? No? No, alright,

(01:13:42):
big headline or live for the win if you get
this right, it's over headline or live. Man ringside at
UFC two six one craps his pants after seeing Chris
Weedman's horrific leg injury headline, Oh my god, all right,
all right, Thomas, you're in this man, Oh my god, alright,

(01:14:04):
Thomas and Iowa headliner. Lie. If you miss this, it's
over and we win. All right, If you miss it,
it is over. Headline or lie. A woman was arrested
for biting and choking her Uber driver recently headline, Okay,
all right, big outs, back on you, but this is

(01:14:24):
for the wind, big out headline or lie. After an
altercation at UFC two sixty one, Daniel Cormie and Jake
Paul announced an agreement for an exhibition bout in the future. Lie, big,

(01:14:50):
big time baby. That was a fun game. You know
what though, Thomas, Thomas, you battled your ass off. That
was a fun game. We appreciate you on both sides. Now,
go get drunk, alright, Go get drunk, Go get drunk.
He already hung up. He's he's back. He's back at
the silo, Poor and Drinks. He already hung up. Thomas

(01:15:12):
and Iowa is gone. He is long gone now. But there.
It is finally my second win of the season. How
about that, Brady, second one? Because it's good. It was good. Now.
I was actually shocked Thomas missed for whatever reason. He
must not be a listener because you mentioned Dublin Kaufman
and he goes four. By the way, that's a hell

(01:15:34):
of a T shirt past the p D. We're double
Kaufman high school classitude. You thought that was pretty good,
just saying, I know, I know you thought that was
pretty funny. Alright, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks here on Fox Sports.

Coming up next. I bet Jesus is sent out a
tweet he is ready to hand out a winner. All right,
that's coming up next. Also, really really really good news

(01:16:15):
in the NFL, according to the NFL. We'll have that
for you next year. On FSR, he's Brady Quinn I'm
Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us on the I Heart Radio app. Coming
up top the next hour. A little over ten minutes
from now here on fs ARE, we will have my
nowhere close to being explosive mock draft, Brady Quinn, the

(01:16:38):
bottom ten of the entire draft. And by the way,
it was a little bit more difficult this year because
there were more draft picks in last year. There's like
five or six more picks. For some reason. Why is that?
Why are there more picks this year in the draft?
Compensatory picks? I believe it's how that would factor in.
I think I think it was because of the compensatory picks.
Guess would be why why that is? But we will

(01:17:00):
have my bottom ten coming up in a little over
ten minutes from now here on fs ARE, we are
waiting the arrival of Live bet Jesus. He sent out
a tweet he should be here at some point over
the next couple of minutes. Here on fs ARE. We
do have some good news though in the NFL. Brady Quinn,
this is great news. I don't know if you saw it.
Great news, Brady Quinn, drum roll. I know we have

(01:17:22):
a live studio band. Can we get a drum roll
please in the back from our live studio band. Uh,
they were not expecting this, So my apologies for springing
this on them on the air, But we have a
live studio band. They are socially distanced. In fact that
he said that's their name is socially distanced. And here
we go, Brady Quinn, good news. Roger Goodell is fully vaccinated.

(01:17:43):
He can now hug draft prospects when they come on
the stage. How about that? Use the NFL did it.
They created the most important thing in this entire NFL
draft process. It's that Roger Goodell gets vaccinated. I'm just
good for him. Good for him. I'm glad to look.

(01:18:04):
I was there. I was there for Roger Wedell's first
first first draft. Waited quite a while to get that
hug and everything else. Uh. He was very hospitable and
all that. UM. I do think it was interesting that
they felt like they needed to announce that. Of course,
It's just here's the reality. There are some people out
there either don't have access for whatever reasons. Right. It

(01:18:26):
could be for the fact that you know they they're
having a hard time getting access to its schedule, an
appointment around their work schedule, whatever the case may be.
It should be accessible everywhere at this point to all ages.
And there might be some people who are fearful. I
just don't know that it's their greatest look and then
just kind of saying like, hey, he's vaccinated, so he
can hug everyone. It's like, yeah, but maybe you don't
understand how this works. Like just because your vaccinated doesn't

(01:18:48):
mean you can't have COVID then pass it on. So
if you really want to, you know, if you're really
trying to play it safe, uh, and you really care
about optics, you probably shouldn't be doing that either, right, um,
because it only means that your body has got a
better chance of fighting it off or receiving less symptoms
than not having to deal with it all together and
not being able to pass it on to a potential

(01:19:09):
just drafted NFL players. So that's the only issue with
even advertising that, Like, I literally couldn't care less of
Roger Goodell's at the draft or not. I don't care.
I don't care if he's vaccinated. I don't care if
he's not vaccinated. I don't care if it's him a
cardboard cut out of him, a blow up doll that's
dressed up as Roger Goodell. I don't care, and it's

(01:19:29):
not news that he can hug prospects if I were prospects.
If I were prospect, I'm not hugging Roger Goodell knowing
he's going to suspend me for four games a couple
of years from now. I want to get pot for
p d s. I want nothing to do with the guy.
I'm sorry, I'm out of here. I'm not doing it
out of my face. What a dumb story. Look, it's again,
it's something that probably didn't need to be publicized. I

(01:19:51):
think they may be wanted to get ahead of it
and say, look, this is gonna happen. Guys get drafted.
They're gonna go up, They're gonna shake his hand or
do a fist bump or whatever. But you have to
think about this way. It is a huge moment for
the NFL, in part is they're getting future stars, but
also for them and their family. I mean, this is
that moment you've all waited for it and you literally
become an instant, you know, millionaire at least of a

(01:20:12):
very wealthy person who's in the top two percent of
earners in this country. I mean, that is a life
changing thing for a lot of these players, and so
you do want to make the moment as as awesome
as you can make it. And look apparently hugging Roger Goodell,
the guy who might be seeing you a fine check
at some point in time in the future. I guess
that's part of it. It's just it's just there's just

(01:20:33):
some stuff that are stories, and I don't understand why
they're stories. I really don't. It's just it's puzzling to me.
Oh my God, to listen. Forget about all that stuff,
forget about Roger Goodell, Roger Gondell's blow up, to all
the vaccine, all of it. Because the lights have gone
out in the studio and it is completely dark. I

(01:20:53):
can't see a damn thing here. I have no idea
what is happening here. And now there's a piece of
paper falling down onto the desk. Brady Quinn, I want
you to know this is all on the up and
up right, purely just reading what's on the piece of
paper here, And here's the proof. It's Bobo's vaccine card.

(01:21:14):
Hold on no comment. It is tonight on the twenty
day of April one that I live bet Jesus proclaimed
he picked to be no mad Land to win Best
Picture at the Oscars. How about that Brady last night. Actually,

(01:21:38):
you know, some would call this the bottom of the barrel.
They would call this an insult. I actually think it's
an honor. I think it's an honor to be a
part of this list. We'll tell you what list that
is coming up here in just a couple of moments
from now. That guy read over, there's Brady Quinn. I'm
Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the I Heart Radio
app and on all of our Fox Sports Radio and

(01:22:00):
it's wherever you are taking part in this program. We
appreciate you doing so, having some fun here taking you
all the way up until eleven pm Eastern time, eight
o'clock Pacific right here on Fox Sports Radio. And ladies
and gentlemen, he gave you his top ten earlier in
the show. You can find that after checking out the
podcast after the show at Fox Sports Radio dot com.

(01:22:21):
But he is none other than my man Brady Quinn. Jonas.
There was a fun exercise, but now the fun is
just begun because you get to do your bottom ten. Uh.
Here's the challenge, by the way, too, is there is
probably a zero percent chance all ten of those teams
are actually the ten teams that end up drafting. Unless
you've got a bunch of trades and then see that happening.

(01:22:42):
It almost never happens. There's so much movement in those
mid lay rounds and sometimes those picks are thrown in
there and earlier rounds that it's it's gonna be hard
to have the teams that are currently picking there now
actually be picking when the weekend comes around. That's the
difficulty that you have in this task. Well, because you
pointed out to me a couple of years ago, how

(01:23:03):
do they view seventh round picks as far as currency goes?
What are they considered? They're considered a sixth round pick
next year? And but but I mean their pennies right
that you can talk around me? No, So I think
that's a misnomer because really what a lot of teams
will do is they'll sit there and look at and say,
we want to have as many opportunities at drafting players

(01:23:23):
as possible because a it gives us a chance to
not um I want to select the player that we
actually want in that moment, but too, it gives us
more chances are getting it right. I mean, and it's
gonna give you cheaper labor potentially if you are right
and they make the roster at least for that you
know rookie contracts. So no, they're they're not looked at
as pennies. They get thrown in on some of these deals,
but you know, typically you know, you get you get

(01:23:47):
a pick that um. And by the way, if it
was a seventh round this year would actually be like
you know, a non drafted player the next year. Usually
they're kind of looked at like a round later, right, Um,
So so next year's are viewed like a second round.
Next year is like a third round this year. That's
kind of how they view them. Um that they're not
valued quite as much, only because they're they're not. Um

(01:24:08):
you know that you can have the immediacy to get
it now, is the bottom line. But no, they're they're
not they're not thrown away. I mean again, they're they're
they're looking at trying to get as many of these
picks right as possible. And that's kind of why Baltimore
made the move with Kansas City for Orlando Brown, right,
they just looked at it and said, he's probably gonna
want a big time contract. We're gonna have to pay
Lamar Jackson. So let's at least get another crack at

(01:24:28):
this thing and maybe find some guy later in the
first round or move up now that you've got a
couple of picks at the end of the first round.
I think they look at what they're able to get
and where they were picking out a thirty one, and
they say, we're not gonna be able to give for
sure the caliber of player. We've seen Orlando Brown playing college,
we've seen a play in the NFL. We can plug
him in and play, and he's going to help improve
our protection. We know that he's a known commodity, so

(01:24:50):
you feel like your risk is much lower taking him,
putting him at that left tackle spot, and then yeah,
giving up some draft conversation, but you don't have many
holes in your roster lease offensively, So that's the biggest
press you know, that's the biggest priority that they had,
and so they get that done because at thirty one,
I don't think they look at this tackle class and
say we'll be able to find someone who can give

(01:25:11):
us what Arlanto Brown can do. And so even with
the contract or whatever else you know comes along with it,
they're getting what is a win now mode, a left
tackle to help protect their quarterback. Moving forward, Brady Quinn
Jonas knocks Here on Fox Sports Radio, we are brought

Now it's time for Jonas. Knox is nowhere close to

(01:25:54):
being explosive Mock Draft number two. Oh yeah. Maybe we're
starting off with a trade, Brady Quinn. You see, because
it two fifty, this belonged to the Seattle Seahawks, but
they have made a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and

(01:26:17):
the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to go with Trevor Lawrence
at pick number two fifty out of Clemson. The highly
rated quarterback. Urban Meyer is trying to build a culture
in Jacksonville. What kind of an example is that if
that's setting for the rest of the roster, If you
reward a guy who goes on to Sports Illustrated and

(01:26:38):
tells everybody all of this is more important than football.
I care more about this. Football doesn't define me. I'm
more than just a football player. Urban Meyer doesn't want
to set that kind of example for that young roster,
and that that that team he's trying to build, that
organization he's trying to turn around in Jacksonville. So the
Jacksonville Jaguars end up getting their guy. They've got a

(01:26:58):
trade a little bit to to to acquire him with
pick to fifty with the Seattle Seahawks. But they get
their guy, and they get a more humble and more
appreciative Trevor Lawrence who was staring Mr. Irrelevant or undrafted
square in the eyes. But he made things right with
Jacksonville and they pick him up at two fifty. How
about that brainy Quinn man, You are a slappy That

(01:27:19):
is the only thing I can say about this. Great
for entertainment. Uh, this is fantasy Land, and I think
you're about two picks late on this one. He's not
even on the board at this point. Number two fifty
one the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at defending Super Bowl champion

(01:27:40):
Buccaneers are on the clock and they will take DiCaprio Boodle,
defensive back out of Nebraska. Listen, he played cornerback in college,
but he's most likely going to be a safety or
a special team's contributor at the next level. He was
the Cornhuskers back to back defensive back up the Year
in twenty eighteen and nineteen. He had a great reputation

(01:28:02):
in the building. He was voted a team captain last season.
General manager of the Buccaneers Jason Light he has Nebraska ties.
Went to college at Nebraska. I went to college at
a smaller school after he transferred from Nebraska. I think
the Bucks snagg a high character guy. In this spot,
I've got DiCaprio Boodle in honor of the Oscars going

(01:28:23):
number two fifty one to the Buccaneers. How about that, Brady.
Here's the thing is, do you know where DiCaprio Boodle
is from? I do, but I want to see if
you know. Oh I know, and I'll tell you a story.
About DiCaprio, Boodle DiCaprio boodle whose mom, by the way,
loves Leonardo DiCaprio. That's how he got his first name.
I didn't know that he actually had never been to

(01:28:43):
the state of Nebraska. Okay, Scott Frost came out and
I believe offered him, or I should say I'm trying
to think if he was even the head coach at
Nebraska at the time. But he was offered on at
actual camp in Florida. It was a satellite camp. Decaprio
had performed extremely well. Uh, they loved they loved his

(01:29:04):
skill set and everything else. They offered him a scholarship.
He took the opportunity, committed and ended up, you know,
going to Nebraska and he had never been in the
state before. Think about that kind of a crazy scenario,
buddies from Miami, Florida. He went to I want to
say the South Ridge High School if I'm not mistaken,
But the heck of a player. He's everything you kind

(01:29:24):
of just talked about. And I think he's got a
shot of making in the league. How many jackets do
you actually think he had when he entered the state
of Nebraska, Like, do you think he learned pretty quick, alright,
I would I would have hope the team would help
him realize he might need a few, especially coming from
South Wall. I don't think he understood how cool it
was gonna get number two fifty two. The Los Angeles

(01:29:44):
Rams are on the clock and they will take day
Jon Dixon out of Nickel State. He is a tall,
lanky wide receiver, the past catcher. He put up big
numbers at Nicols State. In fact, he just became the
programs all time leader in receiving touchdowns, catches, and yards.
A little known fact, he surpassed Mark Carrier, who the

(01:30:07):
former wide receiver in the NFL, had some really good
years in the NFL for quite some time. But Dejean
Dixon at of Nicols State is the pick for Sean
McVeigh in the Rams. There's been some debate about his
true measurements. Some places are saying a six four, others
are saying he's like six two and a quarter very
if he very weird. But nonetheless, the Rams get their guy,
and let's be honest here, Sean McVeigh and less sneed

(01:30:29):
will be so liquored up in that beach house by
that time they're gonna think he's six eight, so they're
gonna go ahead. They're gonna make the move. Dejan Dixon
out of Nicols State. The wide receiver ends up with
the Rams. I like this pick for him. They're always
looking at building on more explosiveness. You know, you put
up some some big numbers at a lower level school.
But you're right, he's one of the bigger wide receivers
in this year's draft. Come out and excuse me, new

(01:30:50):
Orthlans Louisiana. Uh. It'll be interesting to see what kind
of transition he can make, but he can definitely go
up at high point. The football number two fifty three
trade allergy. We gotta trade, you bet your sweet ass,
we gotta trade. And the Denver Broncos are trading out
of the pick number two fifty three and they are
trading it to the Minnesota Vikings. Now Denver GM George Patton.

(01:31:15):
He spent a long time in Minnesota, Brady Quinn, so
there's a relationship there. So the Vikings are now on
the clock at two three and they're gonna go with
Ellerson Smith out of Northern Iowa. He's an edge rusher.
Mike Zimmer is a defensive guy. At this point in
the draft, you're just kicking tires. So if you're gonna
kick tires, why not kick the tires of a six

(01:31:35):
foot seven edge rusher with a wrestling and basketball background.
He was also a high school stud at tight end.
And where was he a high school study? Might you ask?
Where did he grow up? You bet your ass? Minneapolis
is the place. Minneapolis South high school product, a local
product goes back home. Ellerson Smith, the edge rusher six

(01:31:57):
seven out of Northern Iowa. He's the pick for the
Vikings at two fifty three. I like this thought here
a because he's a hometown product. You see that sometimes
Layton drafts. Then also a guy who's more of a project.
I think it makes kind of sense for what he
is in this case, uh kind of you know, more
of an athlete at the position than anything else and
still growing into it, but could make some sense to

(01:32:18):
especially because it's a need for this team. I think
they're gonna address it early in the draft. A number
four team. Could he pays a guy that I really
like to go to that spot. However, that doesn't mean
they're not going to try to backload that add some
depth with that spot. Too with a guy like Ellerson G. Smith.
So I like this man. You're doing a great job
so far. Damn right. Number two fifty five, the Pittsburgh

(01:32:40):
Steelers are on the clock and they will go with
Jalen Moore out of Western Michigan. He is the offensive lineman,
the guard. Not tall enough to play tackle in the NFL,
not big enough, but he is a guard in the NFL.
If he makes the squad, the Steelers need online help.
Everybody knows that they find a good run blocker here
in Jalen Moore. He was a second team All Max

(01:33:00):
selection for a second consecutive season in he turned some
heads during Senior Bowl week, which makes him a steal
for Pittsburgh in this spot. But they add to their
offensive line, and I've got a sick feeling of my
stomach that this guy is gonna go about four rounds earlier.
And I've butchered this pick to be just gonna say,
I don't know that I see him getting this spot
in time, especially when you know you consider he was

(01:33:23):
invited to the Senior Bowl. Typically those guys go off
the board a little bit earlier. Uh. And by the way,
you can go with a lot of small schools at
this point in time to drap it's interesting that's not
only necessarily the case. Um, I know you've kind of
been on that trend, but sometimes you get some guys
to that maybe just didn't play as much at the
bigger schools. So I'll be curious to see how many
more like you know, group of five teams or subdivision

(01:33:44):
schools you end up picking to the rest of this.
All right, well, how about the opposite of a small school,
how about the biggest school? With the next pick, Brady
quit number two fifty six. Actually it's two fifty five
if I am reading correctly here, and it's the New
Orleans Saints who are on the clock, and they will
go with a guy you might be familiar with, Brady

(01:34:04):
quinn Ian book, the Quarterback out of Notre Dame. Let
me go ahead and fill you in on this, Brady,
because I know you're not familiar with Ian books work.
High character guy. He's a winner, but he's a little understized,
and he's been doubted by a lot of people. Some
people have doubted his ability, but he sounds exactly like
a guy who played there for quite some time. High character,

(01:34:25):
a winner, a little undersize. I think he makes all
the sense for the New Orleans Saints. He's the Drew
Brees quote unquote replacement here. Plus just like Drew Brees,
he's also got a birthmark on his face. Did you
know that about Ian Book? So both guys have birthmarks
on their face, which makes it all the reason why
he would go here. He's gonna get some good coaching,

(01:34:45):
and don't be shocked if he makes an impact in
the preseason Brady Quinn Ian Book tot to the New
Orleans Saints. How about that? Here's what I think. I
think he's not gonna be there at this spot. I
think he's gonna get drafted before that. For all the
intangibles you talked about, I think he's gonna get taken
a lot higher than people think. Again, I could be wrong,

(01:35:06):
but I don't know that he makes it out of
the I don't think he makes out of the sixth round.
I think he's drafted potentially even before that. So uh,
I like your thought process, good situation for him to
go too, But I don't think he's gonna be there
when when this pick comes around. So so you like
the idea that I I think it makes sense because
he has a birthmark like Drew Brees. You like that idea? Yeah?
That that that that was That was the only reason, yes,

(01:35:28):
number two fifty six. The Green Bay Packers are on
the clock at two fifty six, and they will go
with D'Angelo Amos out of Virginia. He is a defensive
back and he can crack kind of a hit or
miss player, but he's got the ability to make big plays.
He's gonna get a look as a punt returner, which
he excelled at during his time at James Madison before

(01:35:49):
he moved on to Virginia in his final year. Plus,
he doesn't play offense, which makes him perfect with the
Green Bay Packers because they never draft offensive players. According
to Aaron Rodgers. Therefore, D'Angelo am most gets paired up
with another Amos, Adrian Amos in Green Bay, the defensive
back out of Virginia. Are they related? Do we know
anything about this? Do we know if there's some sort
of relation there whatsoever? I looked it up, and that's

(01:36:11):
the only reason I picked this spot form. I looked
it up. I don't think they're related, but we can
lie on the air and say that they are again though,
I do want to point this out another small school,
like you tend to think just because they went to
a small school, to me, drafted the bottom of the
seventh round and no he but he moved from James
Madison to Briga. Okay, but again, like you're kind of
you're kind of picking on some of the smaller school

(01:36:32):
I'm just saying. I'm just saying number two fifty seven
a trade, and it's a trade. The Cleveland Browns are
trading out of this spot and they are making a
move with the New England Patriots. And with this pick,
the New England Patriots are going to select Blake Prowle
out of East Carolina, a wide receiver. Does that name

(01:36:53):
sound familiar. It's because his dad is Ricky Prowle. His
brother Austin was the seventh round pick a couple of
years ago. He's the ideal slot wide receiver, especially for
New England, and we all know why. Plus this time
in the draft is about relationships. Ricky Prole, you gotta
connect the dots here. Ricky Prole was on the coaching
staff while Cam Newton was in Carolina, so Cam's got

(01:37:17):
a relationship with with with Blake Pearl's dad, Ricky Pearle,
from his time in Carolina. They've got this good relationship.
I think they do the Prole family a solid. Belichick
talks to Cam Newton, they make the move, and they
pick up Blake Pearl, the wide receiver out of East Carolina.
Here I can see this happening, and this doesn't happen
necessarily just because there's connection with Cam Newton. Cam Newton,

(01:37:39):
especially if the Patriots take a quarterback, might not even
be the point of football soom at the end of
the day, good point. But the reality is this, they
do love lineage in the NFL. They understand that this
young man, from what we've seen from him at East Carolina,
but even from his brother, from his dad, he's gonna
do everything the right way. He's gonna run the right routes.
He understands, you know, the xs and o's of the game.

(01:38:00):
They don't have to worry about all those other things.
And he's gonna conduct himself the right way. So that's
that's where you know a player like this. You take
an opportunity to take a guy like this, and especially
when you tell of the New England Patriots, they live
off these guys. They live off these guys that maybe
other people you know, look at and they might write off.
They see something in him. He's been under side of
six but one about hundred eighty five pounds. But but

(01:38:20):
again a lot of intangible, a lot of things to
like about his lineage. Number two, the Miami Dolphins are
on the clock. They will go with Elijah Sullivan, a
linebacker at a Kansas State. Injuries have been an issue
for Sullivan, but when he was out there, he was solid.
He was an honorable mention All Big Twelve selection two
years in a row, voted on by coaches in the conference.

(01:38:41):
He was a defensive m v P in the Wildcats
Liberty Bowl loss to Navy in twenty nineteen. Brian Flores
takes a chance. He takes a chance on Elijah Sullivan,
the linebacker at a Kansas State. I wish I could elaborate,
but we're running up against the clock. Here we go
number two fifty nine. It is missed are irrelevant time

(01:39:01):
and Mr Irrelevant goes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by
way of Hawaii. It is Rico Bussy, the wide receiver
out of Hawaii, big playability with a knack in the
special teams game. Bussy did most of his damage at
North Texas before Hawaii in the special teams department. He's

(01:39:21):
not got the greatest hands in the world, but at
this point in the draft, Tampa Bay takes a swing
on him. He's used to the humidity in Hawaii. He's
gonna be used to the humidity in August in Tampa.
And by the way, a camp battle to watch is
him versus Scotty Miller. Brady Quinn, you heard it here first,
and that is your bottom ten nowhere close to being
explosive mock draft for one? How about that? You just

(01:39:45):
want to get a Hawaii player there? And yes, I
think that's what you want. You hadn't I think you've
done that for three years straight. Now that is a fact,
Yes you are. You're starting to catch onto it. I
have a there's an ongoing theme here, but that is
a fact. Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox here, Fox Sports Radio.
All right, coming up X, we do have an update
and it involves a rumor about a quarterback going high
in the draft, and it involves Brady Quinn's mock draft.

(01:40:08):
We'll have that for you next year on Fox Sports Radio.
He's Brady Quinn. I'm Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio.
You can listen to the show on the I Heart
Radio app. You can find us on hundreds of Fox
Sports Radio affiliates. And coming up in a little we'll
call it about ten minutes from now here on FS
or maybe a little less than ten minutes from now

(01:40:28):
here on FS are Brady. We had mentioned this Oscars
game where Lead de Lap was going to try and
stump you because we haven't seen any of the movies
and know nothing about this year's Oscar, zero about it.
You want to take that idea for a spin. In
less than ten minutes from now here on library, we should,
I think we should. Usually we do are over unders,
but that's that's I mean, come on, this is a

(01:40:50):
once in a year opportunity with the Oscars on tonite. Well,
here's the thing. Because we are such clock guys, We've
got so much time left that I think we can
get both in. That's the thing. Yeah, I agree big time. Now,
I just want to point this out. This is from
Ian Rappaport before we get into Tom Brady, who's not

(01:41:11):
very happy here. Uh, he's just not happy, I mean
of all the things that he would be upset about.
Who knew it was this, But Ian Rappaport sent this
out a short time ago, saying, quote, as the forty
Niners close in on their decision of which quarterback they'll
take it, three sources say they are down to two prospects,
Mac Jones and Trey Lands. So I know you had

(01:41:32):
said that you believe it's Justin Fields, But according to
Ian Rappaport, it is. It is mac Jones and Trey
Lands who appeared to be the favorite. It would be
so amazing if the Jets through everyone for a loop
and didn't take Zach Wilson. It would be only amazing
to see how all these reports, all these things people say.
You're like, yeah, that didn't matter, Like like they were
just using you, you know, like that that's what happens

(01:41:53):
with some of this. If the Jets didn't take mac Jones,
or if the Jets didn't exact Wilson rather, who do
you think they would have taken. I mean, again, I
think Justin Fields. I would rank him as the second
of this group. I just think he has more upside,
and especially in the league where you've got to have
the ability to run the football now as a quarterback.
He's got the accuracy, he's got the arm strength. Is

(01:42:14):
he a finished product? No he's not. But when you
saw him playing the Clemson game, you look and go, okay,
like this is the This is the type of guy
that you know can can take over a game and
really explode. So you just want to see that more consistently.
And I think in the right situation circumstances, yeah, he
could excel. So again like that, that's my opinion these guys,

(01:42:36):
it's gonna be different than how these teams see it.
Penas Su I think is the best left tackle. I
think a lot of them. There's other people who are like,
maybe not as good, baba. And you know some of
it's because they want to use the media to get
this guy to potentially drop to their team. Because the
reality is this, how many times have we seen in
the San Francisco forty Niners absolutely throw a smoke screen

(01:42:57):
out there and fool everyone. We saw it with the
Mr Mitchell travisc in Chicago Bears trading up with them.
They were gonna take Solomon Thomas over you know, number
one overall, number three overall in that draft. Their first pick.
You know, we've seen it a number of times with
the way they have manipulated and move around in trades.
All right, Brady Quinn, Tom Brady is hot and bothered. Alright.
He was not happy about the new Jersey rule in

(01:43:19):
the NFL. UH. He voiced his displeasure. He called it dumb. Uh.
He was very, very disgruntled about the situation, and a
lot of people you know, ran to defend him. Some
speculated whether or not he was being a smartass. Some
others speculated if this is about you know, him slipping
down the highest radar, highest selling jersey uh list that

(01:43:40):
comes out every year in the NFL, of guys start
switching numbers, Um, what is what is the big issue
from a quarterback standpoint with jersey numbers being switched and
guys wearing different numbers that they've never worn before on
the defensive side of the ball, what's the issue here?
So the issue is this, you know, typically when you've
got an offensive lines trying to figure out who they're

(01:44:02):
going to block, and it's it's more of an issue
usually in past protection than anything else. And they're gonna
rely on the fact that the bigger numbers are the
bigger guys. Right, you're gonna see those defensive linemans that
but we wearing bigger numbers. You've get those forties and
fifties that are designated for linebackers or thirties, you know,
and then you've got your defensive backs that that are
somewhere there as well. His concern is this, he's concerned

(01:44:24):
is that you're gonna have like a d N wearing
a single digit, and that the offensive line is gonna
have a hard time identifying whether or not they're blocking
them in past protection or the running backs blocking them.
Here's why it doesn't matter so right now more than ever,
because offenses are using three wide receivers defenses at an
additional defensive back. So instead of playing with four typically

(01:44:45):
in base defense as we call that, they play with five.
That's called nickel. Okay, you bring in usually an extra cornerback,
your third best cover player. And so now you see
nickel three. You know, three cornerbacks, five defensive backs, all
almost as the norm. So you take off a linebacker,
you bring on a defensive back. Well wants if I
go to dime, Well, I take off another linebacker, I

(01:45:09):
put on a defensive back and so now you've got
six defensive backs out there. Most teams have a third
down package where they're not only just bringing on a
couple of extra additional defensive backs, they're taking linebackers are
guys who are edged players or rushers who are typically
like a speedy linebacker type, and they're moving that guy

(01:45:29):
down and he's gonna play on the line as defensive
and or they're gonna put him somewhere along the line.
And so the reality is teams have been doing this
to him and to quarterbacks forever. We used to have
a protection we called sinko, and we had we knew
going into the game in certain scenarios we were gonna
have the offensive line block these five guys, and we
were gonna have the running back basically scan from this

(01:45:51):
side to the other, and if anyone else came down
was on the quarterback and wide receiver. It tied. And
to figure it out. And so the truth of the
matter is it's not gonna become a big issue. You
It's always been hard to understand who's coming and who's
not when you've got all these defensive backs running around
the field. So it doesn't matter if they're a single
digit or a twenty or a thirty or whatever the
hell they want to be, because they're all small guys,

(01:46:14):
and they're all guys who potentially could cover or could
drop into coverage, or could rush or could blitz. And
so no matter what number they're wearing, defenses have already
been doing this. And so whether it's if it's a
base down and your defensive ends were a number nine, Okay,
we know that. We know that guy's the defensive end.
He's six ft six, about two or eighty five pounds. Like,

(01:46:35):
you can see a difference on third downs when it
becomes an issue because you've got all these guys walking around.
Sometimes sometimes you don't have that many guys with their
hand in the dirt who would signify that they're rushing,
and so you gotta figure that out. So it's being
blown out of proportion. I don't think the rule would
have passed if they didn't talk over it and decide
that it could potentially provide the defensive side of the

(01:46:57):
football big time advantage, it won't, uh, and so they
shouldn't worry about it. Yeah, let me tell you something.
If you confuse Christian McCaffrey with Klais Campbell, You've got
bigger issues about to do for you. I'm sorry, I
don't know what to do for you. But they look,
he called out the n f L p A. I
mean give him credit for that. I mean it wasn't
he aware that some of this stuff was going to

(01:47:18):
be changed or being talked about being changed. Maybe you
should have said something about it, but he was too
busy promoting. Well, no, they just when whenever it comes to,
you know, suing the NFL and the antitrust lock, they
just use his name for it. That's always Brady version
in the NFL. So that's that's all. The Union really
uses Tom Brady for Brady Quinn. Jonas knocks here Fox
Sports Radio. Coming up next year on FS are Brady

(01:47:38):
Quinn is going to take on the Academy Awards. Literally,
he's gonna take on the Academy Awards. We will tell
you how he will do. So that's next here. But
for all the latest from around the world of sports,
it is none other than our best actor to say,
we've got a lot of bad actors on this show.
In a manner of speaking, The Dodgers Chris Taylor at

(01:49:01):
Brooklyn beat Phoenix one nineteen. Phoenix on Monday night will
play at New York, a team that's one nine in
a row. The late games at Golden State. Great shooting
each side. End of the first quarter, Sacramento leads the
Warriors thirty nine to thirty two. The NBA regular season
ends in three weeks. Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulky
is leaving for l s U, which reportedly lost its

(01:49:21):
coach to the w n B. A brag Keslowski won
NASCAR's five hundred at Talladega. William Byron was second, extending
his streak of top ten finishes to eight races. In
the NHL. Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay and overtime each winners.
The NFL Draft starts Thursday night with coverage on fs
ARE and former Raider safety Mike Davis passed away at
the age of sixty five. No details given known in

(01:49:44):
team history for his clinching interception in the nineteen eighties
season in a playoff game at Cleveland. Back to you,
Thank You, Steve Jonah Stocks Brady Quinn here on Fox
Sports Radio. Coming out ten minutes from now we are
going to have another edition of over Unders, Over Unders
as we look ahead, and it is a special NFL
Draft edition of over Under. So looking forward to that
coming up ten minutes from now Here on FS are um,

(01:50:08):
Brady Quinn, Are you ready to take on the Oscars?
I am. I want to do this. I'm really curious
see if I can beat your two that you got right? Yeah,
I did two of ten. I was given a list
of names. There are the names of nominees or not
nominees and completely made up. So lead to Lap is
our Oscars insider here he is a fanboy for movies.

(01:50:28):
To watch any movie, it does not matter, even really
really bad ones. In fact, he puts up a projector
screen at his house and has Mortal Kombat parties first
birthday at the age of fifty two. But nonetheless lead
to Lap. You've got a list of names here, and
now how does this work? You explain to us what
you've come up with here? All right, I'm gonna give
you guys some movie titles along with some synopsis is here? Uh,

(01:50:52):
and you tell me whether or not this is a
an Oscar nominated film for this year or not so Well,
we'll go ahead and start off here with a Sound
of Water. Sound of Water is a great film about
a jazz drummer who loses his hearing and has to
figure out how to live life afterwards. Would would you
go and see Sound of Water? Wait? So what's the deal.
I've got to say whether or not this is true?

(01:51:12):
Yes it is an actual movie, or no, this is
not an actual movie. That's not a movie, isn't actually
you're you are correct. It's Sound of Metal. He's actually
a hardcore rock drummer who loses his hearing. It's actually
my favorite film of the year. I feel like there
was a movie that, like last year, sounded similar to
that entitled water. Shape of Water, awful, awful film. That
was the movie that Steve Steve t Saker has a ship.

(01:51:38):
He's got a Shape of Water. Test I can't speak
against that movie. Enough. Yeah, it's Where the Where the Way?
The the woman uh like makes love doing iguana or
something like that. It's weird. Yeah, some government experience. It's
completely locked away, but the cleaning lady can get in
anytime she wants. Well, it's gonna be clean, Steve. Come on, Steve,

(01:52:00):
what am I thinking? All Right? So Brady's one and out,
good for him? All right? What else we got? All right, guys?
We have the Five Crips, which is four African American
vets battle for the forces of Man and they go
to Vietnam to go hunt down some gold they buried
back in Vietnam. Top five Crips, directed by Spike Leeve.

(01:52:21):
It's d A five Crips v I v d A
five Crips. Okay? I literally I was like, is that
one word? Two words? What are you talking about here? Um?
I'm all right? So are you literally putting in Spike
Lee joint and try to fool me on this? I

(01:52:43):
don't know. I'm gonna say that's a movie incorrect. That's
actually The Five Bloods, not to be mistaken with Crips,
Camp Crips Camp A Disability Revolution, also nominated for Best Documentary.
What a Candy Asked Lead to Lap is over the top, right,

(01:53:03):
He's literally doing rival gangs to movie titles. Come on, Lee, unbelievable.
Can you believe that? Bobo? You know I'm talking about
We're not gonna able to get through ten. I'm just
telling you right now, go ahead, alright, Minari. A Korean
American family moves to Arkansas to search out the American
dream of owning their own farm. Minari, I think that
is one. It's a great movie. It might win Best Picture.

(01:53:26):
It might beat out No mad Land, which Jonas has
picked for Best Picture tonight, which I literally passed over
and looking for something to watch. Jonas pick No Madaline. Yeah, well,
spokes No, you just said you did. Is there something
you want to tell us, Jonas? No, I was. My
wife asked me a question. I was answering her. Okay,

(01:53:47):
so I didn't know you speak with smoke Spanish neither.
Thank you for exposing my lie on the air. Three
so far? Should we just say if I get a
third one right, it's over? Is at that point because
we're against it? Can we do best to five? At least? Yeah?
We can do five. We can do five here, all right?
Up for Best Animated Feature. Spirit. It's about Joe, a

(01:54:08):
middle school band teacher whose life hasn't quite gone the
way he's expected in uh he uh. When he travels
to another realm, he to help another person that's not one,
that's not one that's not one. Okay, you are correct.
It is in fact soul. You beat me on that one.
That because I watched that. I watched my daughters, but
others loved that movie, so I do that one. I
shouldn't have gone with the animated. That's three. See all right,

(01:54:29):
let's let me tell you why I lead a lap Uh.
He didn't even have confidence in the lie that he
was telling. That's true, that like everything was crumbling on
the air. Come on, all right, last one here you guys,
yank It's a story about a nineteen thirties Hollywood Uh,
through the eyes of screenwriter Herman J. Yankowitz, who wrote
Citizen Kane. Yank Oh, gosh, I feel like I want

(01:54:54):
to say no, but then I feel like this is
gonna be one where because I have no idea you're
actually gonna trick me. I'm with no, it's not a
movie up for ten nominations. But you are correct, it
was actually make Herman J. Makewitz. Yeah at this easily.

(01:55:14):
Do you have any like any difficult ones? Or is
this Tom Collins? The story written and directed by, or
starring and directing UH Tom Hanks, UH Navy officer. It's
called Tom Tom Collins, Tom Collins, No, you are correct,
it's Greyhound. Greyhound is the name of that movie. Much
better cocktail? Are we done? Right? We do this with Jonas,

(01:55:38):
We're done? Okay? Is so bad because every time Lee
it was a fake that he stuttered like badly. These
are your lies and you stuttered so bad. I mean,
we wanted to do Trial of the Central Park five movie. No,

(01:55:59):
that's Trial of the Chicago seven. Sorry, trial of this
Central Park five to five crips. Like the first reaction
at least coming up with a made up name for
for the five crips and it's the five Bloods or
vice for like Coadley. Unbelievable. You're supposed to be a
movie guy. Here, News of Mars, News of Mars. Are

(01:56:22):
we still doing this? It's not a movie. News of
the world. Different world. I mean, first off, here's your
here's the tell to. You've had like seven of the
movies so far off not in movies. There's like two?
How many we've done eight The Fathers. This is the
next one. Yeah, look at the time, guys here cluck, guys. Ye,

(01:56:45):
that movie is about Bobo, right? Is that a movie? Though?
That's a movie, right? He didn't get to the United
States versus Billy Martin. Steve, Steve, don't provoke him, all right.
This is we're we're off the tracks here, all right.
So there it is. Brady Quinn takes on the oscars
and Brady Quinn wins. Here on Fox Sports Radio, Jonas Knox,

(01:57:06):
Brady Quinn here on FS are a couple of clock
guys hanging out here. Up next, we've got Over Unders,
a draft edition of Over Unders here on Fox Sports Radio.
He's Brady Quinn, I'm Jonas Knox. This is Fox Sports Radio.
You can hang out with us on the I Heart
Radio app. By the way, for the very best NFL

(01:57:27):
Draft coverage, be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radio
throughout the first round of the draft on Thursday. You
can catch the NFL's best information man j Glazer, draft
analysts and Fox Sports Radio host Bucky Brooks, former number
two pick LaVar Arrington, and foxes Kevin Burkhardt. They'll be
live throughout the first round beginning at eight p m.

(01:57:47):
Eastern Time on Thursday. They'll have pick by pick predictions
and reactions to all thirty two first round picks. That's
Thursday night at eight Eastern Time, Jay Glazer, Bucky Brooks,
LaVar Arrington, and Kevin Burkhardt right here on Fox Sports
Radio and as always the I Heart Radio app and
right now it's time for this time to put your
money where your mouth is lying life, it's over under

(01:58:15):
and then here we go lead to lap. What the
hell is happening? All right? You guys? Last week it
was pretty easy. We had asked if the Yankees would
be still remaining in the last place in the a
L and Jonas was correct that they would work their
way out of there. They're currently not in last place.
You got the under on that one, Jonas, You win
last week? Damn Ryan? Is that the only disagreement? That

(01:58:35):
was the only disagreement last week? It took all it
took goodwin. That is that two for Jonas tonight. That's
very rarely happens, but he did. He did have the
hard award tonight. He did have to do the bottom time.
And we'll see if I've bet Jesus wins this tonight
that that's true. Yeah, aren't you guys? We have an
NFL Draft edition of over Unders. We talked about this

(01:58:58):
earlier number of quarterbacks that are drafted in the first round,
you guys, five and a half. I'm gonna take the over.
Somebody's gonna who's the sixth? Who's the sixth? Mond? Davis Mills.
You love Davis Mills. You like that knee Bracey like Mon.
I like Mom because of the senior bowling, because you

(01:59:20):
were high on him before anybody else. Right, Yeah, I'm
a Kelly Mom guy. Yeah, I think he's gonna go.
I think somebody's gonna jump back into the first round.
I think you like Davis Mills knee brace. That's kind
of you like that. You like to have a good
knee braces. A good Don Joy on the guy, Little
Donald Joy knee brace there, that's right, little Donald Joy.
All Right. We know Brady likes Kyle Pitts to the Falcons,

(01:59:40):
but let's say this, where will Kyle Pitts be drafted?
Four and a half? I'm under both think the Falcons.
All right, you guys, number of running backs drafted in
the first round and a half, I'm gonna take the over.
I actually think this one could be two, not just
not just one. I think you're gonna have two in
the first round. This dealers are taking a running back

(02:00:01):
in the first or second round, I mark, that doesn't
help you in the second round of it. Well, I'm
just saying they're a team that's gonna take a running
back early, and if the best ones on the board,
I think they're gonna take a running back. There. Pittsburgh's
the team draft Guy Brady. Alright, you guys, Brady has
two wide receivers in his top ten, but he doesn't
have Davonte Smith. So I asked, where will Davunte Smith

(02:00:22):
be drafted thirteen and a half over under? Oh? Man,
that's a tough one. Oh, I'm gonna go with um. Well,
because I'm just looking at the teams in the range, Giants, Eagles,

(02:00:43):
I'm sound because I'm not even so sure he's not
picked as in the first wide receiver. I will say
I'll go at the unders Wally, but I'm not confident
in that I'll take the under. All Right, you guys,
This one's a crapshoot because they're picking the stall numbers
on Tuesday winner of the Kentucky Derby ten and a
half ten and a half. What well, they picked the
stall numbers on Tuesday, so it'll be random picked. But

(02:01:05):
there'll be twenty theoretically twenty uh horses racing in the Kentucky.
I thought we're talking about something else. Okay, sorry, different directions. Well,
if that's the case, give me the way over, give
me the under, give me the under. From my back,
I'm with you over here. Yeah, I'm gonna yeah, I'm

(02:01:26):
gonna give me the under lead. You know. Alright, that's
over under you guys. All right, well done. That is
another award winning edition of over unders. By the way,
if you hear somebody gagging or choking nearby, do not
worry and do not be alarmed. It as nobody. You know,
it's just the l. A Dodgers in this game. If

(02:01:48):
you hear anybody choking, it's just the l. A Dodgers
who had a seven one lead Brady Quinn and it's
now tied at seven with the bases loaded and one
out in the ninth for the Padres. How about that.
But it's not a rivalry, don't worry about not a
r Pagers are good man Padres, to give him some credit.
I can't believe the Derby's next week and it feels
like no one's talking about it. God, I can't wait.
We're gonna have a J Hawk on our Derby course.

(02:02:08):
I don't know if he's going to it though,
