Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listen. Ain't the Fox Sports Radio. What's next? Well,
we'll tell you in a minute. But first, it's that time. Yes,
it is that time, no nuts. Yes, it's the best
sports talk show with radio today. There's no doubt about that.
It is time to get up, wake up. It's Fox
Sports Sunday or Fox by the way. Now you got

(00:21):
what probably brought you by Navy and Navy and one
of it never runs out. Go takless with Navy and

Now without further ado. My guy, my friend, my partners.
Sometimes we put heads, but we always walk out hand

(00:43):
in hand. I love him, that death. He carries the show.
He's the brain to the outfit. Yes, yes, yes, yes,
the one they only missed the Brian No. Hello, I
can't remember the last time I showered. Oh my words,
it's a good drop by you, Chris. I like that.
What's going on in be firm? What's what's the menu

(01:04):
today for breakfast? I gotta hear it. I'm gonna start
the whack off right now. I think I'm gonna go
with a couple of neutral grain bars over to my right. Cinnamon. Yeah,
and you know this is what I've done lately, Andy,
I think I've told you. So I go with the
variety packs to go with the three different flavors, and
so I surprised myself. I put the neutral grain bar
face down, so I don't know what flavor it is.

(01:25):
So it could be apple, cinnamon, cinnamon. It could be
it's a little bit of a it's kind of like
a Vegas slot machine over here. I don't know what
it's going to be. But your favorite is apple cinnamon.
I mean, handstand that apple cinnamon that you go to. Yeah,
it's uh certainly up there. I do like the mixed

(01:46):
fruit as well. The mixed fruit is rising. Yeah, I know,
I know. Berry actually is what it is. Mixed berry
pretty good. I've been called that over the years of
mixed fruits. But that's a different story alright. But yeah,
by the way, a little bit of seriousness if I
made because this is Memorial Day weekend and tomorrow is
Memorial Day, and you know, people think it's a holiday

(02:07):
to break out the cold pops and put out the
grill with burgers and hot dogs. But remember this is
a day that we have to remember those who made
the ultimate sacrifice. So just take time out for a
little bit in between your cold ones and the hot
dogs and hamburgers. That's all I gotta say, because I
think too many people don't even realize what Memorial Day
is all about. They really don't. Amen. I absolutely co

(02:29):
signed that and for everybody, men, women that made the
ultimate sacrifice. That's how we can do whatever we want
in this country. That's how we're free. And I mean
not to get on a soapbox or anything, but think
about the the skirmish that is a war going on
in Israel, and it right like it's a whole thing.

(02:51):
So yeah, never take it for granted at all. And
to the people who did, like lay down their lives
and the people had fought too and are still alive,
the ultimate things to all of those people, there's no
doubt about that. You know, you talk about skirmishes, I
mean on a smaller scale. You know, we talked about
the games. The games are important, but I think this

(03:11):
is fairly serious as well, and I'd like to do
this that we haven't done in a long long time.
I want to open up the phone lines throughout the
show and see what fans are. Because you're a fan,
I'm a fan. You're very passionate. If you weren't passionate,
we probably wouldn't be sitting behind these microphones and our
phone numbers eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine sixty sixty nine. Because the fans

(03:32):
have returned and something came back. They didn't exist, maybe
perhaps during the pandemic. And that's this unruling this and
I don't get it. I really know. What do you
make about this? We talked about the fan of Madison
Square Garden who's spent on Trey Young, the Atlanta Hawk player.
Popcorn was dumped on Russell Westbrook. You've been to games,
I've been to games. I've never seen this. I hear
about it. I shake my head. What would make somebody

(03:55):
do this? Why would you do this? What what triggers
someone to do this? Smack you from here to tomorrow? People,
That's really all it is. Man. People are stupid. And
I know you want some grand explanation. There isn't one.
Maybe it's alcohol. Well, you know what I did some research,
and I look, I'm one of those guys. I want
to not only scratch the service, I want to pull

(04:16):
back the onion a little bit. And I read this yesterday.
It was in the New York Times. I think Samuel
are Summers. He's an associate professor of psychology at Toughs
University in Massachusetts. He's an expert on the psychology of fans.
Believe it or not, He said that sports bring people
together in both unifying and combative ways. Just take your pit,
whether we're taking your return to normality, whether we're talking

(04:38):
about people getting the pent up energy out of their system.
You know, I hear that. But getting pent up energy
out of your system doesn't mean you get a spit
on somebody. I I don't get it. I I just don't.
I think it's disgusting. I think it's wrong, and I
think that something has to be done. I mean, even
in the gallery at the p g A, they were unruly.
It was crazy over there. They were going nuts. Yeah. Mean, look,

(05:00):
it's it's one of those things where it it's just
too obvious to me to talk about, you know what
I mean, It's just there isn't anything interesting about the
discussion to me, because everything is obvious. No athletes should
have to do have to put up with anything like
Russell Westbrook, Trey Young, even John Morant's father, where some

(05:22):
of the Utah Jazz fans, a few of them had
to get kicked out because they were doing some wild stuff.
And look, um T Martin, who is our not team
a team rant, who is the father of John Morant.
He said that security dealt with those people right away.
So that is the one good thing about it. Those
fans have been uh they've been banned uh indefinitely there

(05:45):
as well, So I think the Arenas are doing what
they can. It's just one of those things where every
discussion point is more than obvious, like you shouldn't that
shouldn't be tolerated, And I was like, yeah, obviously, no
athletes should have to deal with it, Yeah, obviously. I
just there's not a whole lot of nuance to the
whole discussion. That's all. No, But it's shocking. I hear

(06:06):
what you're saying, and I agree with you. There's nothing
new about it. Well, it's in the sense that there
is something new about it, because it's getting worse, and
I think I think it's getting worse. I think part
of the problem, obviously is alcohol. But another part of
the problem, I think is we have athletes who basically,
uh say these things. Give you an example, we have
a uh, Megan Rapino. She was hollering mother effort into

(06:28):
that city hall microphone in front of hundreds of kids
after the women's soccer team victory parade. I I just
I'm not a prude. I'm not one of those. I'm
really not. I mean, I'm not saying I don't curse,
but I just think that there was a time and
a place and to do that. It's city hall in
front of kids, and during a parade. I think it
opens up a door where these kids say, well, if

(06:50):
she did it, I could do it, and and it
carries on and on and on, and we haven't seen
that before. I mean, I think when you were growing up,
when I were growing up, and we would have been
shocked if he would have heard that at a public display.
Well yeah, I mean, look, uh, I think in terms
of the fans stuff, there's been too much that hasn't
been dealt with swiftly. You know, there have been many

(07:13):
crazy things that have happened at arenas at stadiums that
should have been dealt with immediately, and it hasn't been,
and it's created this culture where a lot of fans thing,
I bought my ticket, I can do whatever I want.
And the way you cracked down on that is dealing
with something swiftly and if you let it go. I
look at it like this. I think that you could
relate to this as a parent. I'm not a parent,

(07:35):
hopefully one day, Andy, but my whole philosophy of I'm
a parent one day is like doing the dishes where
I am a stickler. If I make let's say mac
and cheese or I don't know, instant potatoes, something where
you're you've got stuff in the pan, I at least
rinse it out right away. You gotta deal with it
right away or it's just gonna be a disaster when

(07:56):
you go back later on and deal with it. And
a lot of that applies to fan behavior. If these
stadiums and arenas allow some wild stuff to go down
and fans don't have this in their head, I can't
do this because there will be consequences. If you don't
have that in your head, you're gonna have some wild
stuff go down. Again. Yeah, I'm with you Underweld. Look,

(08:16):
I'm I'm watching side by side with you on this,
But I just don't think that I would ever go
to a game with you when you and I were
at that Red Cardinals game with the flip process ever
come to me if a guy struck out in the
bottom of the night, leaving guys on base where I
take a beer and throw it in him, that that
flip process wouldn't even enter my mind. So that that's
where I'm shocked, not so much that it is done,

(08:39):
It's like, why is it done? I mean, what triggers that?
But I have no answer, And I guess if you
would get these guys one on one, maybe alcohol has
triggered the answer. Maybe they was waiting, there was wagering
on the on the game and the outcome, and they
were upset. There's ten million reasons why it shouldn't be permitted,
and it is permitted. And again again you're right, it
should be nipped in the bud because it is getting worse.

(09:02):
It really is getting worse. I've noticed something about you,
Andy Furman. This is your strength and your weakness. You
know you're curious mind now A lot of times it's
I I wonder what the answer is for this. Let
me do some homework, let me come up with a
theory that there's some good things, but there are times
where you just gotta let it go right. Some people

(09:23):
are stupid, especially at games. You know, there isn't going
to be some wide sweeping Ah, it's at this moment,
it's just not You can't explain stupid. You can't make sense.
That a nonsense, you know, And that's this is what
we're talking about with the Trey Young Russell Westbrook situation.
Those people are just out of their minds stupid in
the moment. There's nothing more to it than that. Yeah,

(09:46):
and it's funny because it happened almost back to back.
You're right about that. But I'm gonna go back to
November nineties, two thousand and four, when Ron artest to
form a patient's form where he stormed into the Detroit
crowd at the Palace of Albourne Hills the Metay close
to the mountains of the per I mean it's eventually
gonna happen. I think athletes are gonna go back and
attack these guys again. And look, I don't know if

(10:08):
I'd have a problem with them doing it. I mean,
if someone spit in my face when you go after them,
that that's what That's what I'm worried about. Yeah, you're right,
you can't control stupid and they're stupid, they're deranged, there crazy,
they're stupid, whatever you want to say. But I think
what's gonna happen next. The next step is athletes are
gonna go after these guys again. Although Meta was suspending
something like eighties six games after that and it kind

(10:29):
of hurt himself financially as well and with endorsements, but
I I could see it happening again. It's gonna happen. Yeah,
look I crossed my fingers obviously that that doesn't happen.
But yeah, the the fan might catch a player at
the wrong moment, say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing,

(10:49):
and that is absolutely a trigger. Goodness, if it was
just a little cup that incensed uh Ron, you know
our Meta now, then can you imagine spit. That's that's
another level, man. So hopefully that the people that are
knuckle heads they're dealt with right away, and the people
that are thinking about being knuckle heads. The seat has planted, like,

(11:12):
I can't do that. You need more of a deterrent.
One thing I'll add real quick is I find it
interesting where I don't have a problem whatsoever that Trey
Young didn't press charges, But it gets me thinking I
would like for a player to do that and just say, hey, look,
I normally don't deal with my problems this way, but

(11:32):
just to set a precedent and just to send the
message to all fans like this can't be tolerated. If
they came out and said that, like I'm pressing charges
because fans have to know this can't be done. I
think that could be some good, could do some good,
and I have a problem. It's Trey Young's decision, and
there will be a lot that would look at him
like you're weak. What if you just set it up

(11:55):
and said I'm doing this for all fans because as athletes,
we just we can't have this go on. I think
it would do something good. So maybe the next time
something crazy like that happens, you will see a player
actually press charges and see what comes of it. Yeah,
I wanna round this out here. I don't want to
spend too much time on it because I don't think
they deserve the time. Well, I understand but you know,

(12:17):
you talk about the spit. I like to know why
the guy who was spit on Trey Young wasn't wearing
a mask. I mean, really, he should have been wearing
a mask. That's number one. And number two. Here's a story.
You know. You know the great Lincoln Kennedy. I worked
with him for years here in Fox Sports Radio. He
was hit with a snowball. He went into the stands
and beat the living daylights out of the guy. So
and the guy pressed charges on Lincoln and they dropped
the charge. It was it was crazy, but Lincoln got

(12:38):
it pretty good. He just ran into the stands. I
think that's gonna happen. I mean, it's gonna eventually gonna happen,
and then there stops. When when it happened with Lincoln,
I had to be like fifteen eighteen years ago, and
the things are still happening now. So what are you
gonna do? So we move on? All right? Enough of
that closed the book on that. Anybody has a comment,
will take them on Twitter at the no Show or
at anything from an episode or bet He at age

(12:58):
seven seven nineteen on on Fox eight seven seven six
sixty nine. Now the lineup today second to none. Really,
we got Bronx Talk Radio with the amazing Chris Ban.
There we go, and that's an hour number one, hour
number two bottom barrel betting and of course Brian no
and knows picks an our number three and we roll
on today because mom couldn't even enjoy her son's performance.

(13:21):

(13:47):
We'll tell you who were just about a minute. This
is Fox Sports Sunday. He's probably no. H'm Andy Ferman
to any one minutes past the hour and be let's
get back into some action, some ball action. Four big
games again yesterday NBA first Round a loss, and uh, honestly,
I gotta hear your assessment before we get into the
the Utah Memphis game because that was the last game played.

(14:07):
Many people maybe just opening up their eyes right now,
maybe not knowing who won that game. So your assessment
on the games yesterday, Well, how about the Bucks completing
the sweep Milwaukee beats the same team in the Miami
Heat that took him out in a gentleman's sweep last year,

(14:30):
and they the Bucks beat them down. Man, three of
those four wins were just boat races, winning by at
least seventeen points in all three of those games. So man,
shout out to Janie and the crew for a clabbering
the Miami Heat. And I also think, real fast, Andy,
I think what the Bucks did? I hear all this, Like,

(14:50):
if the Clippers don't win, or even if they don't
survive the first round, blow it up, you gotta blow
it up. Look at the Bucks. The Bucks didn't blow
it up. They made a big acquisition. They all right.
Drew Holiday has made a big difference. He's a much
better shooter than Eric Bledsoe. Yeah, well, when you're going
in the pick and roll and sometimes the defenders goes

(15:13):
underneath the screen, and Drew Holiday is gonna make you
pay in a way that Eric Bledsoe couldn't. Eric Bledser's
is not a consistent playoff shooter and Drew Holiday has
made a big difference. But that isn't blowing it up.
And look at the box, right, I think tinkering is underrated.
Like what do you think the Clippers are gonna do
even if they get bounced by Dallas. They're not gonna

(15:35):
blow it up. What sense does it make to blow
it up? And what get rid of Kauai? What are
you talking about? They're going to tinker the way the
Bucks have tinker. That's how you would do it. And
I got some balanced scoring today Milwaukee. Daniel Janice had
twenty and twelve, but Middleton twenty. Lopez comes in there
and true holiday, they had what I think eleven yesterday,
so they were doing well on holiday. Have to average

(15:56):
something almost sixteen points a game. And this playlost series,
which is really a big booze for them, and that
may have been one of the big differences. But I
think they have something to prove and I think they
could go pretty far. But I'm talking about this, this
Utah Memphis game. I'm really shocked how tough Memphis has become.
And I love watching uh. I love Moran, John Moran
twenty eight yesterday, Grace and Allen comes off the bedroom seventeen.

(16:17):
It's pretty good Memphis team, and they're not as good
as Utah and Utah one eleven, but it was a
lot closer than the score gave. It really was. I
mean down the stretch. It was pretty tight. And Donovan Mitchell,
here's the thing that I laugh about all the time.
They talked about the next the Big Three, they only
played eight games together. Well, Donovan Mitchell, this is only
his second game back. He missed like something like the
final fifteen sixteen games of the year, and his first

(16:38):
time he's coming back, and he basically put the game
on ice. You know what. He's got a three point play,
put the Jays ahead by one, ten, one o nine.
Right at the end of the game, another three pointer
and they finished up on a like a twelve or
fourteen to two run at the end. Yeah, And you
can just see down the stretch, especially the value of
the stifle tower down there where he's just swatting shots

(17:02):
or changing shots. There are a lot of shots that
it doesn't show up in the box score that Rudy
Gobert effects and guys just aren't able to finish at
the rim, you know. And he his presence was absolutely
felt down the stretch there and uh Utah went on
a ten oh run at the very end. I'm with you, Memphis.

(17:23):
They showed a lot of heart and this is big
for their development. I don't expect them to win this series.
But that's again, these are building blocks, you know, and
uh for Yeah to not make the playoffs last year
and to scratch their way in this year and to
really give Utah a lot like they've given him. This

(17:44):
has not been an easy series for Utah at all.
So this is big. It's a big series for memphiss development.
John Moran is an absolute stud. He's got to work
on his three point shooting only about thirty percent during
the regular season, and you see that at times. You know,
he he missed his first what four or five from
three yesterday. He's just not a consistent outside shooter. But

(18:07):
that's the value of the playoffs. It really pinpoints exactly
what you have to work on. And if John Morant
can develop that three point of vility ability, he's already nasty,
but if he can be a more consistent outside shooter,
he will be absolutely unstoppable. You know. I think it
was Wednesday night in that game in the series of
Utah Memphis series, Morant comes in there. It puts seven.

(18:28):
That was the game when I think his parents got
some comments in the stands about him, which I don't
want to go down that road. But yesterday he puts
in twenty seven points. And there are certain guys that
I would honestly pay the scene. You know how tight
I am, And I would pay to see John Moran play.
This guy is just exciting. He's just one of those
guys that loves the game. He kind of mirrors Russell
Westbrook in the enthusiasm he has to play the game

(18:50):
of basketball. Some of these guys get get wide awakened,
their eyes open up, and there there are a different
ballplayer when it comes to playoff action. And I'm talking
about Joel Embiid. I mean, he's a guy that his
name wasn't even mentioned really as a true m VP candidate,
but he certainly played like an m VP yesterday when
the seventies sixers were wiping out Washington won two, one
oh three. Well, he was one of the front runners

(19:12):
before he got hurt. He was absolutely talked about down
the stretch. Was like, yeah, well it was the knee
injury and he missed three weeks and he just missed
too much time to overtake the joker, right, But he's
had a sensational season. Joel and beat as a stud.
He is a great player and I'm curious those top
three teams in the East Andy to see the Nets

(19:34):
because they're they're gonna take down Boston. Boston is not
coming back to win that series, even though shout out
Jason Tatum with a fifty point effort in Game three
was pretty special. But we're going to see the Nets
and the Bucks in the second round, which will be
a lot of fun, and then the Sixers lurking in
the Eastern Conference finals. So to see how it shakes
out with those top three teams in the East will

(19:55):
be a lot of fun. Yeah, And I'm gonna ask
you about that, because that's certainly the Nets a favorite,
and they got the Big Three and they're playing well
together and they're almost dominating. They're beating the crap out
of Boston. Boston doesn't have much anyway, but still in all,
they're doing well and Kat's playing tremendous basketball. But there
are certain teams I don't want to see them win.
I I just don't. I don't think it's fan for
them too. And I know it sounds crazy, you know.

(20:17):
So it's the Big Three play think of the eight games,
and all of a sudden they say, hey, look, let's
put it together. Not guys, let's try to win it all. No.
I like scrappy teams. I like what Memphis has done.
They're not gonna win it, obviously, but I like those
kind of teams. I want to see Janice win it.
I want to see Milwaukee b Brooklyn. I really do. Well.
A lot of fans they root for the underdog, right um,
the casual fan is not going to root for the

(20:38):
Brooklyn Nets, who have a super team. I don't know why.
It's one of those we root for the little engine
that could. Like we like the underdog, we go for David.
We typically don't go for Goliath. That's that's how we
get down. So I understand it, and I'm saying fans
are wrong there. But you're not gonna have a whole
lot of casual fans. Let's put it this way. If
you're not a Nets fan, you're probably not pulling for

(21:00):
the Nets. And it's not just because the personalities of
the team. You know, some people don't agree with what
Kyrie Irving has had to say on certain things like
the Earth being flat and stuff like that, right like
or uh, some people don't like just James Harden's style
of game where he accentuates fouls and all that type
of stuff. So just stylistically, Also, there are a lot

(21:23):
of people that won't gravitate to them, but um, you
know who cares whatever. I think they're gonna be tremendous
theater if it's Nets Lakers in the finals, and it
very well could be sign me up. That is using
with storylines if that's the matchup, right, And I think
the NBA lows up because you got both coast going
at each other, and you've got the big market, You've
got the l A TV market, you got the TV

(21:44):
market obviously on the East Coast, which whichpecially they want.
And you make a great point as far as you're
talking about if you root for a team and you
want the underdog. I think that people root for teams
for two reasons. Number one, geographics if you live in
that area. If you live in that city Moore and
they're not, you're gonna be a brook than that fan
if you live in Brooklyn. But I think that on
a biggest scale, people root or do not root for

(22:05):
a team because of the personalities on that team. You
either love the Lakers, I hate the Lakers because of
Lebron you love him or you hate him. You don't
like him not because of his basketball acumen. You don't
like him because of what he tweets out, what he
has to say about certain things, political things, whatever it
may be. And that's why you root against a team,
which is not fair. But that's just the way it is. Yeah,

(22:26):
there's a lot of that that goes on these days.
And uh, I mean that's that's how a lot of
fans operate. But I always say this, it's better for
you to be invested even if you hate a team
or your root against a certain player. I would rather
have someone in the finals that I'm literally sitting there
saying I don't want this team to win. I'd rather

(22:47):
have that than just a shoulder shrug, like I really
don't care one way or the other. It's better for
the sport if there even is a team that is
more so hated than loved, Like just care, right, Like,
it's better for ratings if you're just invested in care
one way or the other. But do you care about
these playoffts? I mean, I'm someone interested. I'm not a
real question, are you serious? Like these are the NBA playoffs.

(23:10):
There's some good matchups going on right now, Like, if
you're a basketball fan, how you could be just like,
I don't know Clippers MAVs, just well the Superstars with
Kawahi Leonard and Paul George get out of the first round.
It's just and that the way Luca is playing and
how efficient the Stars were for the the Clippers in

(23:31):
Game three. If you're a basketball fan, I don't know
how you can't be plugged into that one. You know what,
I'm with you a thousand percent because I'm a basketball
fan and I love it and I love the games,
and I watched some of these superstars and I'm amazed,
I really But number one, but number two, I don't
feel the national buzz for these playoffs. Maybe the next
rounds it'll come there. I don't know. Maybe the coverage

(23:53):
is not there. There's something missing, and I don't know
what it is. It is not on the same level
and it will never be on the same level of
the National Football League, that's for certain, Okay. I like
everything doesn't have to compare to the NFL. I just
don't feel as if there's a national movement of people
rooting for these playoffs as much as there is in football.

(24:16):
And I'll tell you. I'll give you an example. I
don't live in an NBA city. You do, And at
the eleven o'clock news on TV, they don't give the
scores to show high lights unless something really big happens.
But in football, I don't care where you live. You
could live in De Moine, Iowa. You can live in Boise, Idaho.
They're gonna show highlights of NFL because there's an interesting
and of course the gambling interest and the fantasy football

(24:36):
interested that that's what makes the difference. I think that's
what puts the NFL on top. Well, it's very It
definitely is more of a regional thing. I went out
to Uh. I went out to a restaurant when March
Madness was going on, and Uh, all the TVs in
the place, not one of them was on the March
Madness game. And I'm like, wow, it's that just is wild.

(24:59):
If you go to in spots, Look, it can be
regional with college football. It's if you go to the
East coast. You know this in Brooklyn, I did radio
in the New York area. It's just not a college
football are right? It happens like not everything stacks up
with the NFL. Andy, it's the king on on top right, Like,
it's far less regional, it's more so a national sport.

(25:21):
But whatever who cares like it doesn't have to be
up there with the NFL to still be a great
product and to be a really great product. And it
is a great pride, no doubt about that. Brian No,
Andy Ferman Fox Spots Sunday on Fox Spots Rader he's
lost for the playoffs. What does it mean? We'll tell
you next And another person who's lost as well, Brian
Finley with the latest a little bit. Hey, Andy, why

(25:41):
I was thinking that you in the NFL. The only
thing you too have in common is you both wear
a jockstrap. I put it on the wrong way once A. Yeah,
well you use it as a face mask. Who Who's left?
Who's left? Is that? You know? That is a radio
drop of me laughing on the Ben Mallor Show, And

(26:01):
it's a pretty creepy laugh. I must really is it
really is? It's a dominating team of the last ten
years is Brian Finley and his cellmate Jared Subway. Wow? Wow,
Oh my god, the planks a dropping the comedy bit
over there. Wow, unbelievable. Everybody's getting it to the act

(26:23):
back well for sure. The NBA First Round playoffs continue
to rock on. The Jazz activated fourteen to run at
the end of the game to undercut the Grizzlies to
one eleven to take a two games to one lead.
Donovan Mitchell twenty nine points, and afterwards Utah head coach
in Quince Snyder, well, he went full court press. As

(26:46):
far as the cliches after the game, Sometimes it's a game,
you know, I think, you know, you can't get too
high or too low emotionally, and you gotta just keep
focusing on execution. The seventies Sixers take a baseball bat
to the Wizards one thirty two to one oh three
to go up three games to none. Joel Embiid marvels

(27:07):
with thirty six points. Afterwards, Wizard said coach Scott Brooks said,
in regards to Embiid, quote, I can't imagine anybody playing
better than him. That was m v P level that game.
He's definitely a handful close quote. The Trailblazers stuff the
Nuggets one fifteen to ninety five to deadlock that series
at two. Norman Powell, former U C. L a brewin

(27:30):
mesmerizing with twenty nine points. He won eleven of fifteen
from the floor. Have you had him on the podcast?
Not yet, but I had his academic advisor on the podcast.
Who yeah to tell thee Like, yeah, you know those
stories that are never told. Damian Lillard brick nine of

(27:52):
his ten field goal attempts. The Bucks sweep the Heat
after a one one oh three shelling. Jana's onto the
coopo the triple double and each postseason, the Bruins frustrate
the Islanders five too in their second round opener. The
Canadians force the first round game seven after roasting the
Maple Leafs three to two and overtime. And just a
couple of notes from baseball the Cardinals Brian knows Cardinals

(28:15):
hand the Diamondbacks their third team straight loss. The Giants
jackhammer emasculate the Dodgers eleven to six. The Padres are
comfortably in first place to bo Benson, chagrin, and dismay as.
San Diego swarms the Astros eleven to eight in twelve innings,
and finally, the White Sox sweep the Orioles in a

(28:35):
double header. With that, we bounced the basketball back to
Brian no And then there is his tag team partner
and Andy Ferman, who on weekends has a clown company
and they go around they do third grade birthday parties.
They really really loved me, Thank you very much. Alright,
see him an hour. Who steps up? That's right around

(28:57):
the corner. He is Brian No on Andy Ferman. This
is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Puts Radio, Bronx Talk Radio.
And about six seven minutes from now, I gotta talk
about Brian knows. Portland's team, Portland trail Blazers yesterday. Uh
right now that serious is tied with Denver. They beat
up on Denver yesterday one and say who steps up?
And this one? You know, it's funny. It was Dame

(29:18):
didn't have the greatest of games yesterday, but Norman Powell
came up shot like eleven of the fifteen from the floor,
twenty nine points. And uh, that's what's happening when you
you have playoff activity and the guy is not faltered,
not doing what he's gotta do. Damian Lily ten points
and shot like one for ten. But they had great
support yesterday in Portland. Came right back. Yeah, it's funny.
Because Brendan Haywood was doing the game uh for T

(29:41):
n T, and he said it perfectly. It's just when
you think you know something, you find out that you
you don't know what you think you know. I'm paraphrasing,
but if you look at the Blazers, Dame went off
in the losses. Damon had great games and the losses,
and then yesterday he shoots one for ten and the
Blazers win by twenty points. It's crazy, but uh yeah,

(30:04):
the game will keep you guessing. And for Dame, he
still was effective, scored and double figures, had ten assists,
but one for ten is very uh at normal for
Damian Lillard, and they still found a way to win
by twenty. Nurks didn't get in foul trouble. I won't
get two lost in the weeds, but he had fouled
out in games two and three, committed some really silly

(30:26):
fouls and so Nerk was on the floor and that
helped the Blazers out a lot. Nuggets only shot thirty
four percent from the field, which is just pathetic. You
normally don't see the Blazers flexing any sort of defensive muscle,
but they absolutely were the aggressors in Game four, and
Michael Malone, the head coach of the Nuggets, after the game,

(30:47):
he was like, I don't get it. I don't know
why we would just show up and pretty much go
through the motions, have no answers. It's been a weird
series as far as that goes. The Blazers relaxed in
Game two after they got a game one win and
the Nuggets yesterday having a two one series lead, they
were relaxed. They were not the aggressors at all. I
don't get it. I don't understand how teams in the

(31:10):
playoffs can just go through the motions at times, but
we've seen both teams do it in this series. Well,
as Yogas goes, that's how Denver, that's how they go.
I mean, really and truly, as Yogas goes, so go
to Denver Nuggets sixteen points, he shot seven eighteen and
really that was like his worst game in the playoffs
so far, easy and uh, honestly, he had a tough
time getting open. I mean that that was the thing.

(31:30):
And maybe Nurkus was a guy that put the problem
on Yokis yesterday that was the problem. But you know what,
these guys were teammates one time on Denver, so I
don't know what that means, but they that's something to prove.
Sometimes you get that extra adrenaline flowing. I want to
show you, I want to play you, and I want
to do what you gotta do. But when Yokis is down,
so is Denver. That's basically what it is. They they
need more. They need more than Yoga's to get it going.

(31:52):
They need more from Michael Porter Jr. That's the key too.
I gotta tell you something that's stupid yet kind of funny.
So the local show I do here in Portland, I
came up with something called hater Picks. So the concept
is this, and the pregame show for the Blazers, they
make their picks for the game, and it's always just

(32:13):
obnoxiously positive, you know. It's whatever the season averages. They
always take the over where it's like, Dame, He's gonna
score sixty three points in cure COVID, you know, and
then the other people are like, it seems like too
easy of a prediction. Over. It's that type of thing,
you know, So we swing the other way. So whatever
the season averages, we basically bet the under for our

(32:36):
hater picks, and so I had Dame missing at least
ten shots yesterday, Yeah, and he was one for ten.
I needed one more miss from Dame. And it was
actually pretty funny. At the end of the third quarter,
they had this huge lead and it was more likely
than not that he wouldn't play the fourth quarter, so

(32:56):
I needed one more miss. At the end of the
third quarter, the clock is running down, Dame has the ball,
he drives in and I'm like, mess, he kicked it
out for a shot and I'm like, no, he didn't
get back in the game, So I didn't get my
hater pick right. It's pretty obnoxious. We don't win anything,
but I just battle against the crew I work with,

(33:18):
and uh yeah, so that's what though. How does that
fly with your listeners as far as hater picks? I mean,
does that put you in the hot seat as well? No,
because we just have fun with it. It's mainly tongue
in cheek. We're not actively obviously rooting against the Blazers.
We want them to win, but in a game that
was well decided yesterday, it can create some funnier type things.

(33:42):
So I'm like, one more miss Dame. Come on just
one more and he kicked it out and we didn't
get that one extra miss because he sat the entire
fourth quarter. So we just have fun with it. You know,
some people don't have a sense of humor and they
get all bent out of shape. But you'll have that
with anything you say. You know, I'm watching the games
yesterday and I I saw Joel. I hadn't seen Joel
Myers do a game, and like an eons. I mean,

(34:04):
it's amazing. Becaus now with so many games coming up,
I guess they're going into the vault to get more
guys to do announcing. And I know, the one thing
I don't like is the fact that they're not on site,
and I think that hurts. It hurts it hurts them,
and I think it hurts the viewer as well. When
they got the split screen and they're not there. I
think it's a it's gonna be the future, I think,
to save money. I think that's what they're gonna do

(34:25):
because I think that people are gonna watch anyway. Right now.
I think that I think they'll definitely have the because
you can tell there's a little something missing. They have
done a very very good job throughout the pandemic when
they're not on site. They've done a good job where
it doesn't stand out the whole game where you're like, wow,
this is just weird. They've done a really good job

(34:48):
of if you don't really know, if you're not really
paying attention, it seems like they're there, but you can tell,
you can tell. I think they get back when we
get back truly to normal. I think you'll see common
haters they're in person, especially for the bigger games like
the playoffs, I would hope, so they'll absolutely be there
in person going forward. There we go, all right, Brian No,

(35:09):
Andy Furman, Fox Sports Sunday on Fox, BUTZ Radio, a
subway series could be on the horizon. It's Bronx Talk Radio,
and it's freaking next Bronx Talk Radio right around the corner.
About twelve minutes before the top of the hour. He's
Briban No, I'm Andy Furman. Together we are Fox Sports
Sunday on Fox Bults Radio. Probably brought to you by

(35:30):
Discover because discovered matches all the cash back you were
in your credit card at the end of your first year.
It's amazing because Discovers accepted a ninety the places in
the US that take credit cards. Learn more discovered dot
com slash. Yes, some report limitations apply. But now let's
go to the Bronx. Guys. It's time to channel your

(35:52):
internew York. Here. We want to hear all the rationalities
can spew on the hottest topics of the day. Here's
something we like to call Bronx Talk Radio. Posted by
the Great Crisp. I've been practiced my freaking lugi's all week.

(36:14):
This is a great chris Pa, Great Chrispy. I've been
practicing my freaking lugy's. You guys are wrong. There's nothing
wrong about a little bit of spit out there. It's
just the way you show the Bronx love. You understand that. No,
absolutely not put on your accent there. You always yell
at me about in New York City is crazy. There's
signs in the subway no spitting, but you could spit
on players. I don't get it. Well, you should get it.

(36:36):
That's exactly what the logic is. That is that is
one plus one equals three. Andy, alright, alright, However, throwing
popcorn at Westbrook totally uncalled for Philadelphia, Souilly and you're
gonna be okay with somebody spitting on Troy Young over there,
they're not What do you not put your head on straight?

(36:57):
First of all, if you did Philadelphia, I wouldn't do
it with a popcorn because it coost like nineteen bucks
were a barrel of popcorn. Anyway, Just be cheaper to
throw batteries. Right there, you go, there's a barrel. Is
that the right way to say it? Is it a
barrel of popcorn? It looks like a barrel. Garbage can
look like a bucket, barrel whatever. That acorn Like the guy,

(37:20):
remember the Denver Broncos fan that wears the barrel as
if he's naked underneath. That's a barrel. You're not gonna
have a barrel of Denver not freaking freeze to death.
I don't understand, I don't you just you just he
drinks a lot thinking about death wishes. Julio Jones. You
just say, see this on how he decided. So Shannon

(37:41):
Shop calls him up on freaking undisputed, and he says,
on it, yeah, I'm not going back to the to
the falcons. Shannon's like, you want to go to the the Cowboys.
You're not gonna be a winner. You go to the Cowboys.
He's like, no, I'll go one of the cowboys. It
was funny. It was funny the way it went down.
There's a whole fallout the Falcons that takes fans on
on Twitter who are like, oh my god, how can

(38:03):
Shannon Shop do that to him? They're wrong, right, they're wrong.
Julio isn't on it. First of all, you never shouldn't
answered the phone. It created content for us. I'll tell
you that. I still don't know. I don't know if
Julio knew if he was on air, and now we
don't haven't gotten to the bottom of that. He told
him after the fact. He's on freaking air over here. Yeah.

(38:26):
The sad thing about the Julio Jonesinger, we'll get into
this to the top of the hour, is that it's
all about teams that want him, but they can't afford
it because the cat structure. That's the problem. A lot
of teams could use him, but then when they get him,
the Ravens that's the newest room over here. That's something
you should know about. Andy. You always when we always
go to the bodega, you always like you want the

(38:46):
super big gulp and I'm like no, and but then
you're like no, but that's two dollars. I get one dollar.
You should understand how value works over here. You want
the big thing, you gotta shell out from the big thing.
That's why I bring my own into the games, or
keeping him to my coat listening to admitting to crime
on air right now, we'll get to that in a second.
Real quick though. Uh Toronto Montreal going to game seven.

(39:10):
That's great. Original six leaves to drop game six and overtime.
This this is series that started three one for freaking
Toronto overkilla. Second game now they've lost on a turnover.
This this feels like real maple leafs terret. Let me
get on a minisoapbox over here. Nobody cares about the
Original six. Let it freaking go hockey about. Oh, it's

(39:35):
an original six game over here? The hell are you
to say? No one playing by Porry. Nobody under the
age of eighty five cars at six. If you know
your history, you know your hockey history, you know about
the original an original six matchup. I'm not gonna go
out and do what I was gonna do. Gotta replay

(39:56):
my day. I didn't say back will be put woods
in my mouth. And I never said don't go out
because I won't watch it. But I will tell you this,
that's gonna be in a hype. That's gonna be the
storyline all over the place. Better storyline. If you don't
have nothing besides Original six, you got nothing. That's suck.

(40:17):
The leaves are gonna suck. That's gonna be the only
storyline out there. The only thing I got to say
about the Original six is I just want to move
the Islanders up there so that I can then sell
tickets to Boston Islanders to Andy, so we can take
these things off my hands. I've been trying to scout
these things for freaking You can't move teams into the
original six. Yes, I can watch them and done with right?
Where are the Rangers right now? They're not playing with

(40:39):
a substitution, right, And what you want to do, you
can't do it change and relegated. Yeah, it's that. That's
take Island. I don't even have time for the cheese
story now. Two guys is enough for me. Pump those

(41:01):
numbers out. Those are rookie numbers. His bags are packed.
But where's he going? Well, we'll tell you that in
just about a minute. But first, it's that time. Yes
it is. It's time to say wake up everybody, and
it's Fox Sports Sunday. Yes it is, yes, yes, yes,
it's that time. You know you can't wait, He's probably no.

(41:21):
I'm Andy Fermor. Together we are Fox What Sunday. And
now it's my indeed pleasure to introduce my partner, my friend,
the brains of the outfit, the men who carries this show.
Yes he does, there's no doubt about it. We walk
hand in hand. We may not agree on everything, but
we walk hand in hand when it's all over. After
the three hours segment. Yes, the one and only Mr

(41:42):
Bryan No, Hello, being around a little bit? Yeah, baby,
what's up? What's up? What's going on? Andy Ferman You
are a ball of energy this Sunday morning, as you
normally are. I give you credit. You do not show up,
Thank you sounding like you've got crust in your ice.
You sound more like you've had nine pots of coffee,
you know, And if it's one or the other, I'd
go coffee. Thank you, Thank you very much. And by

(42:04):
the way, again, happy Memorial Day. We get to one
and I'll have a safe one, no drinking and driving.
Speaking of the drinking time and U and take time
out to reflect on what this Memorial Day we can
really stands for. That's what we ask for. Just just
a few minutes before you have that next beer, before
you have the next burger on the grill, or the
next hot dog, just just remember why you're not working tomorrow.

(42:25):
And I assume you're not working tomorrow either, be because
you put in those long weeks. Yeah, I do. I
get a day off tomorrow. It's the first time in months.
I don't remember the last time I had a day off. Um,
so yeah, I'm very much looking forward to that. And
real quick, while you're mentioning this, absolutely again, I think
it's very important each hour shout out to all the

(42:45):
people that laid down their lives. Let that thwirl around
in your brain for a little bit. Like you said, Andy,
with whatever you're doing tomorrow, whatever you're doing tomorrow, you're
free to do, and you have to be appreciative of
people that fought for our freedom. But I wanted to
mention something based on this because it makes me think

(43:06):
of J. J. Watts. He might have caught this story
where he is honoring the late Pat Tillman. He's got
a new signature shoe from Reebok and J. J. Watty
said that he tries to do at least one thing
each season with the military to show his appreciation. And
he also said this, He said, I truly believe that
they're the ones that deserve the amount of praise and

(43:27):
fame that we as athletes get because they're the ones
that protect us and protect our freedoms and give us
the opportunity to play this game for a living. So
shout out to him. I think that's awesome. He's also
donating all of his personal proceeds from the shoe to
the Pat Tilman Foundation, and I found this funny too, Reebok.

(43:48):
They will donate ten dollars to the Pat Tilman Foundation
for each pair of shoes that is sold up to
ten tho dollars. So you got J. J. Watt donating
everything to the Pat Tilman Foundation. Rebox Like, we'll give
you ten and we're in business over here. We're gonna
make a box. And J. J. Watt has done more
for Pat Tilman and the foundations than the NFL to

(44:10):
Pat Tilman. Think about that, well, I think it's a
great gesture to uh, you know, come out with the
shoe and then give all the proceeds. JJ will give
all the proceeds to the foundation. So that's it's really cool, tremendous.
It really is tremendous. And I love hearing stories like that,
you know, it's it's funny. I want to get into
something that we talked about the Bronx Talk Radio in
the last time. Before I do, I want to put

(44:32):
a little ugliness on this segment, and and it really
is ugly, but it's good, funny but ugly. We talked about,
you know, some of the fan behavior, but did use
hip to hear what Tristan Thompson of the Celtic said. Yeah,
oh man. He weighed in on this mistreatment from fans.
He did it just the other day, specifically, like this
Atlanta hook point guard Trey Young, who has spent on

(44:52):
a Madison Square guard the other day quote he says,
I dare a mother effort to spit on me. I'll
follow you right your house. This is Tristan Thompson. I mean,
and I tell you what he probably would. He probably would,
And you know what, I don't think I'd blame him really,
because when Russell Westbrook had the popcorn thrown at him
in that game against the seventies sixers, I think he

(45:16):
was looking into stands looking to find the guy who
did it. He was just really eyeing him out. So
it's gonna be crazy, it really is. But I like
Tristan Thompson, maybe it's a put a little fear in
so man, these people that that won't be doing these
nutty things. Yeah, it was. This is the audio of
exactly what you're talking about. Just so people can hear it.
I'll call you right to your house. I love it too,

(45:39):
I've been really I like that he put it out
there because there are fans that are under the false
impression that nothing will happen to them, and I do.
I like that an athlete puts it out there where
where yeah, you're planning a seed of you really don't
want to go down that road with me, and so
I like it. I absolutely co signed what Tristan said.
I'm with you too. And you know what, in a

(46:01):
six sot of way, I hope someone throws a beer
on him today when they have the game. No, no, no, no, no,
really that's what you want, just to say, let's test
this theory out. Yeah, back, see if he's all talk
come on right, No, no, I'm rooting for the opposite.
I don't want to see anything get truly ugly. We
we don't want that. We don't encourage fans to do

(46:22):
crazier stuff. I'm so happy for you that with your
Portland Trailblazers right now, even in this series of two
apiece with Denver and really and truly, I think it
says Eon just says so much that they could come
back win that game, and a poor performance from Damian
a little shot one for ten, only ten points, So
you know, people must be partying in the streets in Portland,

(46:43):
or at least maybe smoking pot in the streets. Whatever
they do in Portland, I don't know. By the way,
one of the best weed shops around here, just name
wise five oh tree the three come on that big.
I guess you're specifically supposed to say five zero three tree,

(47:04):
which is just silly. No one talks like no one, yeah, yeah,
my phone number, it's area code five zero three. No
one says that it should be five oh tree. Come
on about five not tree five. I forgot about that.
You with the ads right nineteen eight? Yeah, that's that?

(47:26):
Is that? How you say five tree? Is that? I
don't I know, I don't say that. That's if you
lived in Portland, would it be like, Hey, honey, I
gotta run to the grocery store. I'm gonna stop by
five Tree on the way home. I'm telling you be
missing an opportunity, this five old tree store, whatever it is.
We need to open a pizzeria right next to and

(47:46):
sell pizza. I'm telling you. I'm telling you, yeah, you
could make a killing that way. They're funding their weed
shops around here. That's great, but I'm sorry that to
bury the They are fired up about the Blazers evening
the series and now you know it's the best of
three and Denver as home court. I think that Portland
is the better team, especially without Jamal Murray. We'll see

(48:09):
if Will Barton can go in game five. The Nuggets
have missed him. They got away with it in Game three.
Not to get lost in the weeds here, but you
had that was the Austin Rivers game where he hit
a bunch of threes down the stretch and if you
look at just the guard breakdown, Damon c J should
be absolutely handing it to Austin Rivers and composo. But

(48:34):
the Nuggets have been feisty. They've actually done a pretty
good job. They got the better at least Austin Rivers
outplayed c J McCullum in Game three. That was not
the storyline. In Game four, the Nuggets guard play was
that the greatest. So we'll see if they could get
Will Barton back, there'd be a shot in the arm
for the Nuggets. Nuggets from the field last night and

(48:55):
was like, what sixteen points and the point there's this
It would be somewhat embarrassing. Denver G's eliminated and they
have the m v P on their team, but they're
certainly hands down, he is the unanimous m v P
of the NBA. Yeah, a little bit, I hear you.
But not having Jamal Murray. He's not gonna get blasted
for that. That's not the same as Remember the year
that Dirk one m v P. That's when Dallas was

(49:17):
a one seed. They lost, but we believe Warriors, and
to to lose that way, you know that, that's way
more embarrassing. Something else to think of, Andy, They're doing
it differently this year. They're not having the awards show
after the season, so they're handing out these awards in season.
And I'm sure you saw a few of these things,
like you had Julius Randall's son break the news that

(49:40):
he was the most improved player. It was really cool
with the Jazz. No, he has it, but Joe Ingles
was sitting next to Jordan Clarkson and their teammates and
Joe presented the sixth Man of the Year award to
Jordan Clarkson. So they've been doing things like that. But really,
is it's gonna get his m v P Trophy before

(50:02):
Game five? That's a legitimate question. Probably should present him
with it so he's not outsted and then you do
it after they're eliminated. There's a there's a possibility that
is the case. If you don't, they should do it
before game five. They should present him with the m
v P. But he's one heck of a player, you know,
and in a way, you're you almost you feel bad

(50:23):
with some of these guys who was so good and
you don't really see them on on a regular basis
because of where they play. That that's the problem, I mean,
even your honest to some extent. I mean during the
regular season, you don't see Milwaukee that much on TV,
and now Yokich, I mean Denver. You'd love to see
these guys are show. The NBA would love to see
these guys playing in l A, Chicago, Atlanta or New York.

(50:45):
I'm sure they would. I just I don't think it
makes a huge difference. Right, we might see this differently,
but I just think that you know, if you put
Janice even in New York, I just don't know based
on his style, you know, I I don't know that
Janice is just an uber draw in a major market, right,

(51:08):
I don't know that that's the case. And I think
also with Yokich even a better example, I don't think
that it's because it's Denver, which is you know, it's
a big market anyway, Right, It's not the one of
the top five, but it's it's still a major Market's Scramento, No, right, exactly,
It's not a cow town over there. I think it's
more so Yokich's style. And trust me, in my book,

(51:32):
all that matters is how effective are you? But in
today's climate, a lot of this people don't watch games
as much anymore. They're watching the highlights. They're just scrolling
through Twitter and looking at the highlight plays or watching
Sports Center. And as effective as Yokich is, he doesn't
have that jaw dropping highlight making ability. Right. He's not

(51:55):
a high flyer or anything like he's incredible. He's skilled,
and don't be wrong, he produces some highlights, but he
doesn't produce those Wow. Look at this fast break dunk
by Yokis. It's not like that. And because of that,
I think it has more to do with that than
his market in terms of fans is not flocking to him. Yeah,

(52:16):
you bring up something very interesting. If Janice were to
go to New York, he's gonna compete with every other
athlete in New York City. And he may not be
the king of New York. We're in fact, he's the
king of Milwaukee. Which I don't know if that's better
or worse. But I'll give you an example. And I
remember when Paul O'Neil played for the Cincinnati Reds, and
I'm sorry, I'm going to a Cincinnati situation. He he

(52:37):
basically was kind of criticized or ostracized or praised almost
on a daily basis. Because in Cincinnati it's like in St.
Louis as well. It's baseball three sixty five, seven days
a week. It really is. But he went to the Yankees,
and I talked to him when he was on the Yankees.
I said, Paul, what is it like with that precious?
You know what, It's not bad at all because you
go under the radio because you got the metic at

(52:57):
the Rangers, got the Knicks, you got the nets. Because
they don't talk about you every single day. So it's
just something to be said about that. Yeah, depending on
who you are, right, Like, if if you're Derek Jeter,
you're talked about quite a bit, you don't get lost
in the shuffle. It does. It's a case by case deal,
but that is interesting. If you're Sam Donald, right, you're
gonna be talking about quite a bit, You're not gonna

(53:18):
go under the radar. But depending on Yeah, depending on
which player we're actually talking about, it can work to
your benefit. How about that and the number one media market,
you can get lost in the shuffle. It can be
like that. That's a that's an interesting point, but yeah,
I think that. Look, if you put Yokich in New York,

(53:39):
it's not a national draw because fans typically are drawn
by the big time high flyers, the crazy highlights. He's
not that type of guy. Incredibly effective and that's what
matters most, But there are a lot of people that
don't flock to effective if it isn't sexy, and Yoki
don't sexy. He's the guy with the why that can

(53:59):
just all out. You know, it's funny. You've got a
guy like John Brant in Memphis. I think he'd be
big in New York with so much Yes, he has
that type of game. I totally yes, that style. If
you put it in the number one market boom, you've
got major, yeah, national, major endorsements, major, no doubt. And

(54:20):
that's the only thing he's losing in Memphis because he's
getting good money, I'm sure, But going to New York
you get the the endorsement factor and you don't get
that probably in Memphis. Memphis is is somewhat off Broadway,
and I don't there's some athletes that that don't want
to have all lot hype and people following you around
their restaurants all the time, which they're doing like on
page six of the New York Post, they're right about
what you're doing socially more so than what you're doing

(54:42):
on the court. You know, people don't want that, they
want their privacy. Yeah, well, hey, he's huge for that market.
There's no doubt about that. I'd be lying to you.
I feel guilty watching that series Grizzlies and Jazz because
when I'm when the game pops on him like all right,
get out, and it's really good. It's a close game

(55:03):
down the stretch, Grizzlies are executed and come up a
little bit short. But it's been a lot of fun.
Jahs doing his thing. He had what forty seven in
Game two on the road, that's insane. His second ever
playoff game, he goes for almost fifty. Last time, it
was a good game. I like Graysion Allen coming off
the Benjamin. Yeah, he had a couple of buckets down

(55:24):
the stretch. So it's been fun. It's just it doesn't
have the pizzazz in terms of the matchup going in.
It's something that you ever go to a movie where
you're like, Okay, I don't really want to see this movie,
like my girl wants to see it, and then it's
really good. That's sort of what the Jazz and Grizzlies
have been like for me, You're exactly right, You're really
good to you. Really, he's my part, he's my friend.

(55:45):
He's Brian No get him on Twitter at the No
show at Andy Ferman f s so I we'll read him,
we'll retweet him. We're eight seven seven ninety nine Fox
eight seven seven sixty nine. That's a phone number. Line up.
There's Bonne Barrel betting in this hour. I and no
one knows picks and our number three and all options

(56:09):
Damn son, where'd your find this? He didn't retire yet.
That's right around the corner, by the way, he's probably
no on Andy Furman. This is Fox Sports Sunday on

Slash Yeselson report limitations applying if I maim is to
be I'd like to share a tweet with you and
ask you a question about Twitter, because the tweet I
have is from our guys suck at Coupe, and uh,

(56:51):
this is pretty sure that Andy Furman just said Megan
Rapino is to blame for the bad fan behavior going
into the arenas. He's some chucking d batteries at my
radio right now. And I tell you what. I didn't
say that she's the main cause of it. But we
have a foul mouth female such as a soccer stars
Megan Rapino, who proudly hollered mother effort into a city

(57:12):
hall microphone in front of hundreds of kids through a
women's soccer team victory parade. What happened after that? Commercial
endorsements followed, and a big HBO special follows. So I
think people and kids in general will say, Wow, if
she could do that, I could do that, And I
think it leads to bigger and better and worse things.
That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying she's the main cause.

(57:33):
No one ever said that, but I think that that's
part of the major problem. And I don't want to
spend too much time on that garbage because it's not
worth it and they don't deserve it. Yeah, there's a
lot to chew on there, Andy Furman. Uh look, um,
I don't know, man, I don't think that's the reason
why fans do stupid stuff at games. Um what Rapino

(57:55):
was saying. But look, I see it in Portland a
lot where it's just kind of the cool thing to
be irreverent. You know, it's kind of cool to just
be Uh. I don't know how to say it. Um,
It's like to me, it's just trashy. I mean, I

(58:18):
think that you can have some flare, you can be
an individual and you can do all all types of
stuff and still have class. But there are a lot
of people that are not finding the magical middle ground
of having some personality yet still having class, where it's
just it's sort of like a free for all. It
almost reminds me of when kids go to college for
the first time, and it's especially if you grew up

(58:40):
in a strict household and some kids don't know how
to handle it. They're like, I'm free, this is amazing, right.
I just feel like with it being the trendy thing
to just say something crude as if it oh you're
cool now, right like, it's just growing more and more
in that direction, and a lot of times it's just
trashy in my book with you, I'm with you right there.

(59:01):
And I do have a question about Twitter. Maybe you
could help me on this. About two three weeks ago,
I had like a hundred followers. Today I looked, I
have like a hundred and six. So I'm going down.
I'm going the wrong way. Has that happened to you
on Twitter? Too? And no, only me is I don't know.
I don't pay attention to that stuff. I've never had
anything close to that following. I'm not the mega star
that you are, Andy, Please, I don't know. Maybe it was.

(59:24):
I'd like to know if how much much the numbers
dipped with the Julian Edelman will be in the quarterback
of the Patriots. We should have a spreadsheet, we should
have a week by Twitter following, But I think they
would have gone up because I've got a lot of
fans maybe in New England say yeah, and I'm gonna
follow this guy like what he says. So I don't know,
and maybe it's just one of those crazy things that

(59:45):
I don't know how they measure it. But maybe tomorrow
go back up again. It's that Andy Fer minute. This
are or at the no show for Brian No if
you want to get us on Twitter. Now I heard
our good man, I think it was Chris p and
Bronx Talk Radio was talking a little football. We haven't
told much football today. I think it's time we go
back and kind of see what's going on with Aaron
Rodgers right now, who's basically like ball. There we go

(01:00:09):
vacationing in Hawaii. So they had the uh, the their
guys offseason programs, the O T A s and he
wasn't the e bit blesses voluntary. He doesn't have to go.
But still in all I mean now, all of a sudden,
Aaron Rodgers says, I'm not retired. Anything's on the table,
and he's not really upset with the backup quarterback Jordan's Love.

(01:00:29):
He's still upset with the general managers. So I don't
know what we stand here with Aaron Rodgers. What have
you heard on this? Well, the last everybody else has heard.
The last time we heard from him he was doing
Kenny Maine's final show on Monday Sports Center, and I
thought it was just embarrassing. I truly believe in being transparent. Andy,
say what you mean instead of going into this abstract

(01:00:54):
you know it's about the people, and you know it's
about curly lambeo and it's what do you mean? Okay,
if you're ticked off at goody, say it right, like
I don't need you to dance around everything, and like
I really don't have a problem with this. I really
don't have a problem with that. Well, then why do
we not have you at O T S? And why

(01:01:15):
do you want to be traded? Like stop painting this happy,
go lucky? Oh, everything's pretty much fine, and no it
isn't you want out of there? So I think that
your explanation should match your stance. You know, it's kind
of crazy. He's on vacation, Miles Teller, the actor, and
then Myles Teller. Teller now was tweeting about the trip
and basically saying that, you know he's he hasn't retired yet,

(01:01:38):
so he either this Teller was drinking when he tweeted that,
or maybe be he knows something we don't know and
see he may be breaking a story so we don't
know what the deal is. But don't tease us. I
love what you say. Be transparent. You know you have
nothing good to say, don't say anything, you know, stop
with the rumors. You know, we did the same thing
with Tom Brady when he had that Instagram thing when

(01:01:59):
he was dressed in black and we're trying to figure
out what it was, was a TV commercial whatever, don't
don't play with us like that. You know what, I
think fans deserve better, don't you think then then the
stupid tweets that really don't mean anything, and who are
you trying to impress by doing that? Anyway? Well, all
I'm saying is we're not stupid, and uh, all this

(01:02:20):
about I'll give you a taste of what he was
saying about the Jordan Love draft pick. Here you go.
It's never been about uh, you know, it never been
about the draft pick pick in Jordan. I love Jordan.
He's a great kid. You know, he had a lot
of fun to work together. Really, like, okay, both things
would be true. He can really enjoy being around Jordan's love,

(01:02:40):
and I totally believe that. And you can still be
bent at the organization forever making that draft pick in
the first place, Like, really, it's not about the draft pick.
What's it about? Then? Really, that's the main thing it's
been about this whole time, and you're gonna sit there.
It's not about Jordan. He's a great kid over it. Really,
if the general Jacoty would have told him he was

(01:03:01):
drafting a quarterback, everything would be hunky dorry right now?
Is that what you're saying? Is that what he's saying
right there, that if they would have called him on
the phone and say, look, we're planning on drafting a
quarterback just to let you know. I still don't think
he'd be happy. I really don't, because it basically they're
saying that your best days are behind you. We got
a guy ready to take your shoes if in fact
you falter, and we'll see what happens. I mean. But basically,

(01:03:23):
he went out there and proved them all wrong with
fifty touchdowns last year, forty eight touchdowns wherever. It was
a heck of a season with thirteen and three. Yeah,
and he alluded to that where he talked about his
m v P season and that threw a wrench into
the whole planning of the Packers. And yeah, you can
read between the lines and understand what he's saying. But

(01:03:45):
that's what I dislike. I would have much more respect
for his stance if he came out and said, look,
I absolutely love the organization, but I'd be lying to
you if I said I wasn't ticked off about the
Jordan Love draft pick and nothing against him. It's just really,
you think that I'm done. I don't take kindly to that.
I would love it if he just said it, But

(01:04:05):
that's not how he rolls. He's passive, aggressive, and he
likes to go in these abstract no it's not this,
and it's kind of that, and it's a dude, just
say what you mean. He can't help it. He learned
that from Jeopardy. He can't help it. He's giving you
the hints because he's maybe the next Jeopardy host. See,

(01:04:27):
that's what he's practicing. Right. He was pretty good. He
was pretty good on Jeopardy. He really was. I like
how Chris just goes thumbs down. You're like, thank you,
I'll be here all week. It didn't even phase you.
That was good bye you. We're gonna move on all right.

(01:04:47):
He is Brian no on Andy Furman, This is Fox
Puts Something on Fox Puts Radio Smallest Big will explain
that next but first to our own big man, Brian
Finley with the latest resting snugly between his legs. Thank you,
Aaron Rodgers. I think I think Chris feels like it's
I don't know, like a Friday night at the club
or so, it's like Sunday morning, people on their way

(01:05:10):
to church, and he's just turns he's crazy over there,
all of this zacrilegious behavior. Yeah, there we go. NBA
First Round playoffs from last night. The Jazz breakaway in
the fourth quarter to stonewall the Grizzlies one to one
eleven to take a two games to one lead, Donovan
Mitchell coming up with twenty nine points. The seventies sixers

(01:05:31):
spear of the Wizards one thirty two to one oh
three to go up three games to none. Dwell Em
Bead hits a personal playoff best with thirty six points,
and he does so in just twenty eight minutes. The
Trailblazers perplexed the Nuggets one fifteen to deadlock things at
two games. Norman Pale stepping in for a struggle, busting

(01:05:52):
Damian Lillard as Pal scores twenty nine points. He also
holds Michael Porter Jr. To one of three from the floor,
seemingly just a footnote, but a big story to how
that game went. Here's Mike Malone, Denver's head coach, after
the game, and he's not sugarcoating his thoughts on his
own team tonight. As starters are awful, first quarter, third quarter,

(01:06:18):
bench kind of settled us down in that first half,
Mike from Mike to Jamichael. Jamichael Green also said afterwards, quote,
we got our butts whooped, so that should all be
the motivation we need, all the motivation we need. I mean,
it was embarrassing, so when we go home, we gotta
be the aggressor's close quote. That's Jamichael Green, a Denver nugget.

(01:06:38):
I'll be happy when the zoom era is over with.
So the audio doesn't sound like, hey guys, so yeah,
we just didn't bring the attention to fiship. Oh my gosh,
I can't take it anymore. As much as I love
listening to an interview where it sounds like the interviewee
is underwater, I would prefer that we move on from
that segment of our generation. It's true, doesn't it sound

(01:07:00):
like that? A lot of times the Bucks put the
heat out of their misery one to one oh three.
That's a sweep. Beannazon too. The coompo a triple double.
NHL postseason, The Bruins nailed the Islanders five two in
their first round first game or second round first game.
The Canadians force first round game seven after devouring the

(01:07:21):
Maple Leaves three two and overtime. According to ESPN, police
in Georgia arrested Marcel Ohsuna on Saturday. He is currently
in jail for felony assault charges after he allegedly choked
his wife and threw her against a wall. The normal
aggravated assault strangulation charge to a spouse has a sentence
ranging from three years to twenty years. The Cardinals gladly

(01:07:45):
handed Diamondbacks their thirteenth loss of the season. The the
Giants emasculated the Dodgers eleven to six. As l A
is now a game behind San France San Franz number
two in the n L West standings and number one. Yeah,
how about those San Diego Padres first after taking down
the Astros eleven eight in twelve innings. And finally, as

(01:08:07):
a work the microphone, the basketball back to Brian No
and Andy fermam Andy sorry to report but your Red's
wet the bed yesterday against the Cubs, tend to do
the final score. They'll never see the hundred mark again
this year. Nobody credits the Reds more or talks about

(01:08:28):
them on national sports radio more than and you've heard you, no, no,
no than you, because you do it to give me
a gim And I don't care. I don't really bring
it up. For everything you could be talking about here,
he's right. You know, we were talking about, you know,
the Baltimore Ravens, and somehow brought up Paul O'Neill. You know,
he'll drop Yankee, he'll drop a name from somebody from Cincinnati.

(01:08:52):
That's what Andy. You watch, We'll be talking about Julio Jones,
he'll bring up boomerisiasin I don't know, how is this
gonna happen? And then Achilles Yet yeah, he's a stop it,
stop it please, A two guys not enough for me.
Then we go, hey, where's he going? That's coming right up.
We'll do that. By the way, we crossed the fifty
odd line. And what we call Fox Sports Sunday and

(01:09:14):
Foxball Radio. He is Brian ahm Andy Furman and uh
we roll I I own apology to our guy Justin
because I said that old tweet. No, I shouldn't. Okay, guys,
I said the tweet was the Megan Rappino tweet was his,
no there were tweet was from just Josh damnitt okay
j j D. It was his tweet that was retweeted.

(01:09:35):
So my my era, I apologize. I did blow it.
I did. Benny Barrel, Benny coming up in about six
minutes from now, And let's talk a little football right now,
because he said, where's he going, Let's talk about Julio Jones. Look,
the Falcons say they have a couple of offers for
a future first round pick to get rid of Julio Jones.

(01:09:58):
I'll see what happens right now. But the anything is,
you've got teams. I love the recruiting process to Tennessee
Titans like Derrick Henry and A. J. Brown. They go
on social media saying, hey, come on, come over here,
we'd love to have you. You'd be a perfect fit
for our for our being a star receiver. It's the
recruiting thing is crazy, it really is. I love it. Yeah,
look I don't have a problem with it. Um, I

(01:10:20):
thought A J. Brown's video was semi funny him recruiting
Julio Jones to go over there, But the latest rumors
the Baltimore Ravens. Yeah, Jar the follows from ESPN. He
mentioned that the Ravens are willing to get involved if
the price is right. And so if you see Julio,
that's a major upgrade with their wide receiving corps if

(01:10:40):
they're able to get their hands on him. I just look,
I'm really curious to see Lamar Jackson's development as a passer. Again,
he's a former m v P at thirty six touchdown passes.
I don't want to make this guy sound like he
can't throw the ball at all, but he had the
lowest amount of yards to wide receivers by far last year.
Is dead last in the end fl and I realized

(01:11:01):
it wasn't a who's who of targets to throw too.
So if you get Julio Jones, and even if not
with Rashad Bateman, and they've done a lot to upgrade
what they have around Lamar, I'm really interested to see
what his development is like as a passer because he's
got to improve for the Ravens to do anything. Come
post season time, and this is the opening I was
looking for, Okay, because this gives me an angle to

(01:11:24):
get Cincinnati in there, but in this sort of way
that you would really enjoy. Okay, you mentioned Lamar Come
over there to Kentucky and slap your round. Okay, you
mentioned Lamar Jackson. I'm gonna talk about the a f
C North, and I'd like to ask you, in fact,
the ratings of the quarterbacks in that a f C North,
and I still would go with Lamar Jackson is number one,
all right? Number two I have to go there. I

(01:11:48):
think Big ben is still has a lot left in
his in his in the gas tank. Number three number
is it? Joe Burrow? I I don't know. I haven't
seen enough of I don't know, so I think it's rough.
But you still got to say Lamar Jackson is still
the top of the pack and they have seen what
this quarterbacks? Number four, you know what I'm gonna go hot,
take on you here, Number four, Andy Ferman, it's over

(01:12:12):
here a while. Numb. No, he's I don't know if
did Chris du crack this morning? What is going on
with him in the drops today? He's like maybe he
got into his cat's cat nip. Maybe that's what happened.
I didn't realize meth was as affordable as it is. Yeah,
I am gonna go just for what I'm expecting the
most from. Yeah, I am gonna go. I'd like to

(01:12:36):
pull the trigger and go Joe Burrow number one, but
I can't quite I don't trust his offensive plan. I'm
gonna go Lamar Jackson number one. I'm actually going to
go Joe Burrow number two. I'm expecting more from number
two than I am of Baker Mayfield, which is a
little bit out there. Baker Mayfield played pretty well down
the stretch last year for the Browns, but I think
that Joe Burrow I expect more out of him as

(01:12:58):
a pastor. Of course, the Rounds have the much better team,
the much Yeah, they're gonna win more games, but I
expect more out of Joe Burrow, and he showed us
a lot last year before he got injured in his
rookie season. I expect more from Joe than I do
Big Ben and Baker Mayfield this year. Look at you
talking Cincinnati. I may have to get you a skyline chili.

(01:13:19):
Look at you. I know you would think I'm Andy
Ferman saying these things, and I think I think it
was a good kind of slant to get that in
there as well as we talk about Julio Jones. But
you think Julio Jones make up of Baltimore And no, no, no, no,
I'm not saying that at all. That's what Jeremy Fowler
is saying. It's the latest rumor is they're willing to

(01:13:40):
get involved if the price is right. And at thirty
two years of age, I guess you could say his
best years are probably behind him. He's played in the
league ten years and his Space salary is like fifteen
mill That's a lot of money. It's a lot of
money there, and it's fully guaranteed for this year. So
it's gonna cost the Falcons like, uh twenty three million
or so against the cap in one Well, yeah, you can,

(01:14:03):
you can space it out a little bit if it's
post June first, it's still gonna be quite the cap hit.
But that's what I don't quite understand what the Falcons where.
You could have Julio for one more year. You can
make this work financially if you extend Grady Jarrett and
you can do some cap gymnastics to get Julio and

(01:14:23):
the roster this year. I think that when you look
at what the Falcons have there around Matt Ryan. If
you have Julio Jones, you just drafted Kyle Pitts. You've
got Calvin Ridley. If you have Julio, who's healthier this year.
That's the reason why his numbers dipped. He only played
nine games last season. But if he's blessed with better health,

(01:14:44):
he could have a monster season. And even though he
would be a year older next year, you could get
even more value for him if he has a stud season.
So I don't I don't quite understand the Falcons trying
to move on. I know he requested a trade and
all of that, but I don't know if you can
find a way to make it work this year. I
think it makes a lot of sense to keep them,

(01:15:05):
but it seems like they're shopping him and ready to
move on, you know. And honestly, I mean, the funck
Is do have a decent club with him, and I
think they got they got a shot. I mean, they're
not basically a lousiville like they got a shot they
really I mean, yeah, I think they're a playoff team
with Julio. I think that's a deadly offense if they
kept Julio there and think about no more Drew Brees

(01:15:28):
with the Saints. The Panthers are just trying to find
their footing. Sam Donald is their quarterback. I know you
have Tampa in that division, but Tampa didn't win the
division last year. They were a wild card team. They
were a five seed, you know, and they go on
their tear. I'm just saying, if you have Julio on
that roster, you're a capable playoff team, and once you
make it into the playoffs, who knows what happens from there.

(01:15:50):
If you're Atlanta, you're exactly right, that's probably no. I mean,
de firm. This is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Puts Radio.
Is it a game? Is it a sport? Is it
look or is it gil? It's bottom barrel betting, and
it's freaking next bottle barrel betting coming right off. It's
about eleven minutes before the top of the hour. He's
Brian though, I'm in the firm of this is Fox

(01:16:12):

was like wanting to sleep. People get my money. I'll
put your break to sleep. Yes, And the man returns
from his stay at the rest home b B ball
bets in his back. What's going on, guys? How you
doing today? How are you? Oh? Peci keen, peci keen?
How about yourself? Pretty good? Pretty good? Dods isn't playing

(01:16:35):
better baseball? That's good? Yeah? I know since I left? Yeah,
maybe maybe that's a sign. Um, so we'll see. Uh,
I do actually have a bonus bonus uh question for
you guys today? So um over under fifteen more times
that Brian Finley can mention the NLS standings in may Daddy,

(01:16:58):
it sounds like you're not take and kindly to him
mentioning what the patreits? What's your beat with big big
but the the insurmountable two and a half game lead. Yeah,
that's that's that's that's tough. I'm I'm very broken up
about it right now. You see, let me just say
one thing. It's things like that that causes people to
spit on other people. Really, because you're such a passionate
Dodger fan, I can see you spitting of Brian Finley's

(01:17:20):
face now, really, I really can, and I hope it
doesn't happen. No, that definitely will not happen. It's high
class over there. My mind goes here, where, um, who
has the biggest beef in Fox Sports Radio right now?
Right like between let's say a producer and an in

(01:17:41):
an update anchor or what what's the biggest Because I
know you're joking around with you and Big B. But
who has the real beef? Is let us? So we
can talk about that once the once the segment wraps
up here, but uh, for for reals, this time, we
have a the Van Couver Titans taking on the Atlanta

(01:18:01):
Rain in the Overwatch League later later this evening. Who
you guys got I never heart of this league? What
league is this? It's a it's a it's just a
sprint football. No, it's a first person shooter, it's a
it's a video game, it's esports. You've never heard of Overwatch? No, Andy,
you've heart of all, you've part of it. Yeah, we've

(01:18:22):
had no diff We've had picked multiple that's right, we have.
I'm sorry. Yeah, okays against too, the Vancouver Titans in
the Atlanta Rain. I got the Rain. I got the Rain.
It's just even there's no points at what just just
outright winner. Okay, got the put put blood, sweat and

(01:18:43):
tears into these lines here. I'm going to Vancouver on
this one, bo Benson. All right, Up next, we've got uh,
we've got over under six innings pitched for Blake Snell
against the Astros later today. Go ahead, I'm gonna take over.
You know, Blake's always a good picture. Uh, going six
and a third, you just have to go six plus

(01:19:04):
you just yeah, Well that was famously. The deal is
he was excited to leave Tampa Bay because he could
finally pitch more than six innings, and then I don't
think he's made it past six. He's not gonna make
a piss six today because it's Sunday and he wants
to get to the restaurant early for reservations. So it's
not gonna happen today. Al right. Next up, over under
one and a half goals for Brandon Point in the

(01:19:25):
lightning at Hurricanes Game one. Oh I got under on that. Yeah,
expecting two goals from one game. That's I don't care
what it is. And crazy, that's a that's a kid pick.
All right. How about how about over under one and
a half assists for the Philadelphia Union's defender Kai Wagner's Timbers.

(01:19:51):
They're playing the Portlands. They are also yeah thinking the
under Yeah, absolute okay. And then the last one here, guys,
Candice park Her facing her old team, the l A
Sparks Chicago's I think, yeah, she's in. She's with the
Chicago's Sky Yes, over under nineteen and a half points
for Candice Parker. You know I'm gonna go over. I'm

(01:20:12):
gonna go over with Candice today. I am Yeah, I
have the overall. So, I don't know. Can we start
a new tradition in BBB where there's a line of
teams I've heard of and players? Thank you? I don't
I don't care about the sports sports because we didn't
have ball. We could have darts. Nope, who is that?
Who is that? Nope? I'm with you, b Nope, No

(01:20:34):
really no you're not. You're you're the one who rides
hard for the off the wall. We've never heard of
this before. We could do do sports like volleyball, we
could do uh, curling, we could do darts. I don't
mind doing that, but some of these things, G I
go NBA playoffs myself, you know, that's what I would do.
But it is bottom barrel betting. I mean the definition

(01:20:55):
is do you have to sports that it really bottom barrel?
And NBA is not bottom barrel. I mean, we could
change their name. You want to change the name. Nah, alright,
so we're gonna stay. We we got this is it right?
We got. We're stuck with what we got. Okay, here
we go. All right, he's be I mean, they Ferman
and look who's turning the heads. Look who's turning heads

(01:21:16):
in the NFL. We'll tell you all about that on
Fox Sports Sunday coming up next. He forgot about the
postseason that's coming right up. But right now it's time
to say wake up America. Yes it's that time. Yes,
no noise, no s what's going on here? Now? Come
on you let me hang on an island by myself.

(01:21:37):
It's time to say wake up America. Yes it's that time.
It's Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports readier. He's Brian
no on the Ferman. Oh my goodness. All right, and
now without further there was my indeed pleasure to introduce
my partner, my friend, that Branson. They offered the man
who does the heavy lifting on this show. The one
the only in the hour of power. He's missed the

(01:21:58):
power himself. Mr. No, Hello, b how are you you?
Aaron Rodgers? I'm great, Andy each hour, I'm great, I'm fantastic.
I'm off the charts. I know you are an apple sinnament. Wow.
And by the way, we do have to mention this
because it is the Memorial Day weekend. I want everybody
to have a good time, but a safe time, and

(01:22:18):
remember take a moment to pause and know what this weekend, basically,
especially Memorial Day, what it's all about for those who
have served and given up the ultimate for you for
freedom in our country. Memorial they remember that. Please absolutely
these the most heartfelt thanks to all of those people.
And listen the families too, Think about that that there are,

(01:22:41):
Think about how many veterans have laid down their lives
and their families are still live, functioning, and think about
what today means for them. You know, so you said
it very well earlier. Today, when you're thank you in
the backyard and you're firing up the grill, or you're
you know, cracking open the next Bruce Ski or whatever
you're doing, really do take a few minutes to reflect

(01:23:04):
on what freedom means and the price it took for
us to be free. Absolutely, just don't let that pass
you by. And like I'm off tomorrow and you're on.
Reflect on that man. That's amen, amen, Mr brian O. Yes, yeah,
I love that. And by the way, before we look
to the future, and what I mean the future, I
mean maybe previewing some of the NBA games of today,

(01:23:26):
let's take a look at the president, and the president
has to do with the NFL and the president in
the NFL. Believe it or not, the New England Patriots
are making a little bit of noise right now and
they usually tight lipped about everything they do, and they're
kind of raving to some extent during the O t
A workouts on their rookie quarterback Mac Jones. They say
he's impressing the coaches, he's impressing the teammates, and even
Bill Belichient, the coach, said Mac has diven dove into

(01:23:49):
the playbook, continues to do that. We have a lot
of things you gotta work on, of course, he said.
And that's what he's doing. But still in oiler there's
some raves over there and he's on there. I guess
you have to say he's on the first team, so
to speak. They got full quarterbacks. Now they got wait wait, wait, wait, wait,
who's on the first team. Well, the first group just
two and two, so he'd be on Group A with

(01:24:10):
Cam Newton and Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer. I guess
is on Group B with Jared Stenham, So I guess
that's where he's at right now. But they're not gonna
keep full quarterbacks, that's for sure. Well they did when
Tom Brady was a rookie, you know, so crazier things
have happened, but I would anticipate they don't have four
on the roster, so if someone's gonna be the odd
man out. But look, Mac Jones. It's funny, it's depending

(01:24:33):
on who you listen to. Because Kendrick Born, the wide receiver.
He was waxing poetic about Mac Jones and the leadership
of the ability, and he's got the swag and he's
just got a energy to him, and he was very
complimentary about Mac. And then you'll hear other reports about
if you listen to Cowherd, they've got a promo running
and he's like he's under sized compared to Cam. The

(01:24:56):
world is pretty much undersized at the quarterback spot compared
to am Cam Newton is a house of an end. Yeah,
Mac Jones, most quarterbacks are gonna look like smurfs compared
to Cam Newton. Right, you know, it's just too early
to tell. I mean, can you tell that much in
an O t A workout that the guy's got swagger
and the guy's got this, and the guy's got that.

(01:25:18):
You kind of get a game situation, wouldn't you think
I don't understand or the raves and the gushing right now,
it's I just think it's too soon. I think it's
great and it's a lot of fun for us, but
I think it's just too soon to tell. Yeah it is.
It's look you're you're in shorts and helmets. That's a
far cry from the regular season with live bullets. There's

(01:25:41):
only so much you can tell. I go back to
remember Tyreek Hill of the Chiefs. He was like I
thought Mahomes was garbage when he first got there. Right, Like,
you can't tell a lot when we're talking about O
t A s in these offseason workouts and even training camp.
There's only so much you can and tell. So you know,

(01:26:01):
the drill Andy this is the time where optimism reigns supreme,
and it's one glowing comment after another because you're hopeful
that your teammate is going to be the real deal,
or that your team is gonna be a lot better
than last season, all that stuff. So that's what fuels
these compliments that sometimes it's all about the moment and
it's not so much what's going to happen in the future. Right,

(01:26:24):
And you know what, there's another fact that that you
talking about games situation. For course, I mean they were
in shorts and a T shirt and I wearing pads.
But there's another fact that playing on a big stage.
I think that means so much national television, especially if
you're planning on a Sunday or a Monday night when
all your peers are watching you as well. Big crowds.
I guess mac Jones could handle that. Although I'll tell

(01:26:45):
you what, the crowds have not been that big at
Alabama over the years. They were complaining about that. They
said football in Alabama has been whole hum because they
went all the time. A lot of people are not
going to the games. There was a problem that I
doubt that they still get sixty don't all for that man.
Come on, look, there was some talk about that. There
was That's the whole thing is, comparisons sometimes are great,

(01:27:11):
but sometimes comparisons get you away from the truth. You know,
Like compare Alabama, even if their numbers attendance wise, have dipped.
Compare that most of college football right there. Not look
at the attendance they get for a spring football game,
you know. So, yeah, Mac Jones is played in front
of big crowds, no doubt. Um. I look, I think

(01:27:34):
a lot of people are selling mac Jones short and
uh I think that he's fully capable of having a
good NFL career. I think a lot of it traces
back to two things. It's he played at Alabama and
he's surrounded by who's who supporting cast and that could
lead to him not being a great NFL player. Right
when you're not surrounded by the same type of talent,

(01:27:55):
you don't have the same sort of talent advantages compared
to your opponent. Yeah, he might not be great in
the pros because of that. And the other thing people
dwell on is the lack of mobility. He is not
a mobile guy. I just think Andy in today's NFL,
you still can have success not being able to move around.
I don't think it begins and ends with hey, mac Jones,

(01:28:17):
on this one play, the rush got to him. He
took a sack and it was second and fifteen. So no,
thank you, Like, that's not where it ends. Where if
mac Jones, if he's similar in the NFL, where he's
reading defenses throwing with anticipation and accuracy, well guess what,
there might be a first and ten where as the
more accurate passer he throws it dime and there's a

(01:28:40):
gain of fourteen yards and you move the chain chains
compared to the guy that has more mobility, but he's
not as good as a passer. Right, It just doesn't
end with he's a mobile that's all. Well, and those
are the main reasons why I gotta believe the guy
who led a team to a national championship, who was
selected fift overall in the draft, really what now? I

(01:29:01):
mean the factors that you just laid out there, those
are probably the reasons why he was picked in the draft.
I mean, he dropped pretty good after leading O let
them into a national championship. You know there was some
he might have been the third, fourth, or fifth pick
in the draft. Oh see, in terms of the lack
of mobility, that's why he dropped. Is that what you're saying. No,
I'm all those factors, you know that, and they'll take

(01:29:22):
you surrounded by the talent all that, right. Look, there
are a lot of it's it's weird where um it's
I think there are teams where I think the Niners
are a perfect example of it. I think there are
teams that we look at this and say, what's the
fallout if we're wrong? You know, It's like, if we're

(01:29:44):
wrong with Tray Lance, we're gonna hear about it. We're
not gonna get crushed. If we're wrong with the immobile
mac Jones, that's all we're going to hear about. I
just think there are teams that have that in their mind,
and I don't think that's the right way to look
at it. I actually I applot a guy like Bill Belichick.
Bill Belichick will follow his gut and he doesn't care

(01:30:06):
what the naysayers of the critics will say if it
doesn't work out. You go back to the fourth and
two against the Colts and he's like, yeah, we went
for it in our own territory. I think it was
the right play call didn't work out, but I do
it again. He got crushed for that, But he's a
guy who's not going to cower in fear and like,
oh man, I'm gonna get beaten up. The critics are

(01:30:26):
gonna have a field day if this doesn't work out.
He's gonna do what he thinks is right. And there
are a lot of organizations that don't do the same thing. Well,
that's because he doesn't really talk to the media anyways.
She doesn't care. I mean whatever said about him, you know,
that's fine, and to you you read it one day
and you're throwing the garbage the next. But the point
is that he's not one of those guys that confronts
the media because he doesn't really say anything to the media,

(01:30:47):
and maybe that's the way to go. I mean, really,
that's it's kind of it's probably a great situation for him.
He never really heard Bill Belichick getting in and on
with the reporter. I mean you never heard that. I
mean you heard some would just say, you know, they've
had a confrontation. That guy has been banned. You know
he's doing him in the clubhouse. No, that's not happen
in New England. He doesn't do to anybody. That's what

(01:31:08):
it is. Andy. He deals with the media all the time.
If he's gonna talk about a decision, he's gonna be
a questioned why did you go for it? Why? Why
did you do that? Why didn't your punt? Why? Why
would you He's asked a million questions about it, And
just because he gives short answers doesn't mean he doesn't
hear about criticism. Okay, he's a guy that doesn't bring

(01:31:28):
it on, but he doesn't go back and forth and
making it to a confrontation. You know, yeah, he's gonna
be You have to have those conference the NFL mandates
did you have a Wednesday news conference and a Monday one?
You're gonna talk to the media after the game as well,
and then answer yes, no, whatever. Missing the point and
point the comparison is with the forty Niners. I think

(01:31:51):
that they're thinking partially is if we swing and miss
with Mac Jones, the immobile guy, that's all we're going
to hear about is why did you go? And they
don't care? You think they care? Do you think the
team's gonna care that they're not gonna draft the guy
because of criticism. That's the most aniotic thing I've ever heard.
And I love you to you really you think that

(01:32:14):
there are teams that don't play it safe from time
to time, never a conservative decision. Yes, that's safe, but
not worried about confrontation with well with criticism. They play
it safe, yes, end it there, They'll play it safe.
Why why is that? Why would they do many reasons.

(01:32:35):
It's not because of criticism, believe me. Really, so, so,
what are the reasons why? I think that he is
the better option because of several factors and maybe because
of the lack of mobility. But they're not doing it
because of criticism. They don't care about criticism. Walk down
this road, really because I want to investigate why you

(01:32:56):
think this is so idiotic? Here, okay, let's take a game.
So there's a situation, games on the line. Team goes
with a conservative call. Why what? What are the reasons
for that? So? So Andy Reids gonna go with a
conservative colpix? Oh because John Jones in the Kansas City
Stars in the press bucks He's gonna criticize me. I
better not do this. I better punt. I better not
going for are you kidding me that there are plenty

(01:33:20):
of coaches that go the conservative route because it's like, hey,
if this doesn't work out, I'm gonna go with conventional wisdom.
You know, I'm not gonna get just lit up. There
are coaches that are their job is on the line,
and if if they do something that is against conventional wisdom, wisdom,
and it doesn't work out, they know the onslaught of

(01:33:42):
criticism that's gonna come. They know what, Yeah, there are
plenty of coaches that do things conservatively to avoid that
type of scrutiny. They do, it happens and they fail.
And those guys that did our failures, you know you
got when you're a coach, you roll the dice. You
gotta take a hands, you gotta go for on side kicks,
you gotta go for for fourth and one. You gotta

(01:34:03):
go for it, even in your own territory. That's what
it coaches all about. And you gotta look at the
ceiling at night when you're sleeping and say, maybe I
shouldn't have done that. What what about? Uh? The Seattle
and in the Super Bowl against against New England that play.
You don't think that's going over in their in their
minds over and over and over again when they could
have ran it in for a touchdown and they passed
those an interception and come on, was he worried about

(01:34:26):
a criticism from from that point of view? I don't
think so. That's why that's not a conservative call. Like
you're throwing the ball. That's just that. That's not not
a smart call, right, But that's not conservative. That wasn't Hey, no,
that's just a pat Here's the thing. Conservative call shouldn't
be criticized. Then if the conservative they should be criticized.

(01:34:46):
I'm talking about gutsy calls. Those are the ones that
are criticized, and coaches do it. Why would a conservative
call be criticized? Tell me, explain that to me, because
it's playing it safe to a fault. They're they're plenty
of times we're going the conservative route is the wrong
way to go and say that, I agree, could be
the wrong way to go. But they're not gonna be criticized.

(01:35:07):
No coach that's gone conservative has ever been criticized. Never
happened before. I didn't say that, but I will say this,
whatever a coach does, there's a good chance he's going
to be second guests that criticized just just a nature
of the beast. Right, I'm sure he's criticized by his
own people. I'm sure there were assistant coaches on staffs
that criticized what a head coach would do. If we're

(01:35:28):
going nineteen different directions, we don't need to this more
complicated than it is. It's not. I look at the Niners.
You can disagree. I look at the Niners, and if
they go with a guy Mac Jones, and we're just uh,
guys that don't have mobility, they're most people. There are
a lot of people who think they're dinosaurs. They're just outdated.
It's like eight track over here. There's just no place

(01:35:49):
in the NFL for them. Meanwhile, Tom Brady just wanted
seven Super Bowl being an immobile quarterback. But whatever, Right,
there are a lot of people that think, oh, outdated,
you can't go with the quarterback that lacks mobility. So
if the Niners swung the other way and they trade
up to get Mac Jones at the number three overall pick,
they know that it's going to be questioned and if

(01:36:11):
it doesn't work out, they're gonna get criticized way more
heavily than if they go with a mobile guy in
Trey Lance. They know that. And if you think that
isn't part of what they considered, I just flat out
disagree with you. Okay. And here's another thing. Maybe there's
a situation out there. They were more concerned with Mac
Jones with is d u I. They were afraid of
criticism with that. You never know what is back. You

(01:36:33):
don't know, you don't know, all right, that's like, that's
not gonna be something. It's it's not about that. Trust me.
If mac Jones, if he's mobile with the d U I,
d U I doesn't even register with the team, right,
It was more so about the lack of mobility than anything.
We know the deal with Max, but we didn't hear

(01:36:54):
that from the forty nine. They never came out publicly
and said we don't want it because the lack of mobility.
Why would they? What this is an assumption on your
part then, right, it's a pretty safe assumption. Goodness. Like,
that's the way the NFL is trending. Most teams, most fans,
most of the media. They value mobility, and I think
a lot of times they make more out of it

(01:37:15):
than there is to make. But that's the way it's going. Goodness, Like, really,
you think how many times you talk about it all
the time, talent Trump's trouble, that's like your bumper sticker phrase,
and really you're gonna have it's about Oh it's the
d U. I how many guys have had checkered pasts
and have gone higher than number three? Overall? It happens

(01:37:36):
all the time. I mean, they have a guy who runs.
It's a running back who led the league then FC
two years ago, and the Bengals drafted him and he
beat the living daylights out of a girl in Oklahoma.
All right, Yeah, and the Bengals picked him and there
wasn't about a d U I for mac Jones. Well,
you know what all I know is this, this is
so much speculation. I understand this criticism. But again I'm

(01:37:57):
not buying in everything what you say. I I respectfully
agree to disagree. That's all I'm saying. It's not a
big deal. It's very respectful to say it's the most
idiotic thing you've ever said. Well done by you. Well,
you know what I need to get you back of
all the things I've gotten. You know, I'm coming back.
I'm coming back. There we go all right. He's Brian No,
I'm in the Ferman comments, so welcome, and you could

(01:38:19):
do that on Twitter at the No Show at Andy
Ferman FSR or eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven sixty sixty nine. Briano comes back at
the end of this hour with nose picks. That's right,
so don't go anywhere. And they are the most hated
team in sports. Will tell you who next? Why the hate?

(01:38:40):
That's right around the corner. It's about twenty five minutes
past day hour. This is Fox Sports Sunday. He's Brian Oh,
I'm Andy Ferman, and we are proudly brought you by

slash Yes, Nielson Report, limitations apply, and be your guy,
your guy. Bake has been the voice of reason on Twitter.
Can I read his tweet? No, I will not approve
of this. Big bag comes to the rescue. He says,
there's no way, no way either of you can possibly

(01:39:22):
know a coach's motivation for conservative or risky play calls.
I hope, like Andy says, they're not concerned about media
scrutiny because that's lame, and I agree, I agree, but
some are so some are that. I agree, some are,
but they are some might be. But I don't think
that's the reason why they. You know, they may call

(01:39:43):
a play and saying oh my goodness, have failed with
like I gotta face these guys and after the game.
But I don't think they hold back of calling a
play because of what might happen. I don't think that's
a fact. We don't know. I like Bake. I like Bak.
I mean, I don't know what a guy's thinking. Don't
think you know what a guy's thinking. But we move on.
But I do know this. I do know that per

(01:40:05):
bent Online i bet Online survey, the Brooklyn Nets have
passed the Lakers as the most hated team in in
the NBA. And I don't know why they hate and
I haven't won anything. Usually you hate a team that's dominant.
The Yankees are hated because they won like twenty nine Pennance.
They hate the Yankees. They why would you hate the
Brooklyn Nets yet? Is it because the Kai Me not

(01:40:27):
Kye Kai Me, Kaymie Irving because he plays when he
wants to, or maybe because James Harden the way he
got himself out of Houston. I don't know. I just
don't know. Well, here's curious Andy again that play here,
I'll give you a couple of theories. Now, public service announcement.
I don't know. I'm not sure what's in the thoughts.

(01:40:47):
So what's in the minds of all these people? But
I'm gonna take a guess. I'm gonna take an educated guess.
Here's it all get all bent out of shape on me.
But here are a couple of things to point at
one And these aren't my thoughts necessarily, but there are
a lot of people that think this way. Yeah, you
hit on a little bit of it. James Harden forced
his way out of Houston. There are a lot of
people that said, when James Harden was bawling out this

(01:41:10):
season before he got injured with the hamstring deal, that
he he wasn't an m v P candidate because he
forced his way out of Houston, which is insane to me.
The guy was doing exceptional for Brooklyn before the injury,
but they had that big of a problem with him
forcing his way out of Houston. That's part of it.
Some people don't like James Harden style where he accentuates contact.

(01:41:33):
They don't like that. They don't like that Kevin Durant
joined a seventy three win Warriors team with the fast
past to two titles. They don't like some of the
crazy things that Kyrie Irving has had to say over
the years. Right, um, so yeah, there are multiple reasons
they don't like a super team coming together. So yeah,
they're playing why the Nets aren't popular? Maybe who knows? Right?

(01:41:59):
I'm with you, you know, you can put a check
next to everyone those boxes next to my name because
I feel the same way, especially Kyrie Irv because I
think and I was so happy because he made his
return to Boston on Friday and he didn't go too
well for him. Nets lost of course, and Kevin Durant
James Harden, they combined for like eighty points on thirteen
twenty one three point shooting, Kyrie only able to chip

(01:42:20):
in sixteen points on six p seventeen shooting from the field.
Maybe it was like a little bit of a homesickness.
I don't know, because he was in Boston. But I
will take this much. The Celtics basically are dead, but
they they've given a valiant effort for the lack of
staff they have on the court, that's for sure. And
Jason Taton Tatum with fifty points, I tell you he
kept his season alive. That's for sure. Nine team win

(01:42:43):
and now they lead the series. Uh, Brooklyn does two
to one, and today is getting so wait wait with
the homesickness, what is that going on with Kyle Well,
I mean, digitter is going back to Boston. Maybe wanted
to try too hard to prove to the fans that
you know, the heck with you. I don't know who
knows why he played so poorly. I just don't know.
But again, when you have a big three, he's not needed.

(01:43:06):
May not be needed real fast. Though, Based on what
Kyrie was saying about Boston and saying he hopes that
there weren't any racist things said or even subtle racism,
I totally back Kyrie on that there have been some
wild things said to black athletes before in that city
and for him to put it out there. Look at
how the week unfolded. Some people are like, Kie, what's

(01:43:28):
Kyrie talking about look at what some of the fans did.
They're pouring popcorn on Russell Westbrook, they're spitting on Trey Young,
They're saying crazy things that John Morant's father and getting
kicked out like this was not the way. If you
sat there and said, what's Kyrie talking about? This was
not the week for you. Kyrie could have easily pointed out,

(01:43:50):
like that's kind of what I'm getting at over here,
you know, like he in in that city. There have
been other players, Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles at
the time. CC Sabathia has talked about It's been many
athletes that have talked about the things to them. Bill
Russell talked about it all the time. Mord absolutely, yes,
it's funny. Friday. In the New York Post. On Friday,

(01:44:12):
Ian O'Connor, a columnless New York Post interview Bob Cuzy,
and he said that Bob Cuzy said he felt really
bad that he never kind of back Bill Russell about
that because he knew that Boston was some of a
racist time. Remember the Boston Red Sox was at last
team to hire an African American basbo baseball player. Pumpsy
Green was their first African American player, the last team

(01:44:35):
to hire one. I mean, it's crazy, isn't it. It's
as known as a racist thing. I think you got
to find the middle ground, and it's tough to do
on a subject like this where I don't want to
paint the picture as if the whole town is just
raging with racists, you know what. I mean, they're right,
but but to act like racism doesn't exist there especially,

(01:44:57):
come on, we weren't born yesterday. So for the pushback
that Kyrie got by some people, and what's he talking about?
Subtle racism? It's like, yeah, it's unfortunately he's making sense
in that town, right, you know. And if you have
to pick a racist city in this country more so
than others, I'm not saying the other cities are not,
I think more so, I think that Bullston probably had

(01:45:19):
the list. Well, all I'm saying is no athletes should
be subjected to that. That's the bottom line. I'll go
on stuff further. No person should be subjected to that, absolutely,
no doubt. Yeah. But I'm just you know, based on
Kyrie talking about it in the NBA. That's why I
specified that. But you're right, no, no person should be
subjected to any of that. But uh, I just hope

(01:45:41):
that you don't have athletes having to put up with
that garbage. It's the one thing you want to boo them.
You want to root for them to lose or fail. Fine, right,
we get it. But you know it's not church over here.
But the minute anything halfway racist is said, you shouldn't
get the gate man, you should be out of there immediately.
I agree with you. I just hope and have to
go to an arena in the near future, and I

(01:46:02):
don't want to see signs in the arena. Please know,
spitting on athletes. I don't want to see that. I
really don't. I hope not. I know it was understood
that should never happen either. I know. I'm with you
right there. Okay, we move on right now. He is Brian, No,
I'm Andy Furman. This is Fox Sports Sonya, Fox Posts Radio.
This is right up your rally. This is right in
your wheelhouse. Baby, you're gonna love this because this is

(01:46:24):
the hottest prop Betton, Vegas. We'll go tell you all
about it next. But first, our own little hottie, Brian
Fentley with the latest Thank you so much. NBA first
run playoffs. We begin, yes, ho about that? The Jazz
breakaway in the fourth quarter to stone wall the Grizzlies
one to one eleven to take a two games to
one lead, Donovan Mitchell coming up with twenty nine points.

(01:46:47):
The seventies Sixers demonized the Wizards one thirty two to
one h three to go up three games to none.
Joel Embiid HiT's a personal playoff best with thirty six points,
and he does it all in twenty eight minutes. He
sat out the fourth. The Trailblazers mystified the Nuggets one
fifteen ninety five to level that series at two games.
Norman Pal coming up offensively with twenty nine points. That

(01:47:11):
is a playoff best for him, taking over for a
struggling Damian Lillard. Also Pal held Michael Porter Jr. To
one of three shooting, and afterwards Nuggets JA Michael Green said, quote,
we got our butts whoop tonight, so that should be
all the motivation we need. Close quote. The Bucks put
the heat out of their misery on one oh three

(01:47:33):
to complete this week, be honest, onto the Kompo had
the triple double. NHL postseason the Bruins slight the Islanders
five to two in their second round opener. The Canadians
force the first round game seven after devastating the Maple
Leafs three two and overtime. According to ESPN, police in
Georgia arrested Marcelo Sona of the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

(01:47:57):
He is currently in jail for phelony, as alt charge
is that he allegedly choked his wife and flung her
at a wall. Now keep in mind the normal aggravated
assault strangulation charge to a spouse has a sentence ranging
from three years to twenty years. As far as games
in Major League Baseball, a couple of notes for you.

(01:48:18):
The Cardinals gladly handed Diamondbacks their thirteenth straight loss. The
Giants emasculated Bo Benson's Dodgers eleven to six as Cody
Bellinger makes his return and pukes all over the batter's box.
Oh for four was his outing. He's listening to every
word you say. The Padres by the way, I didn't

(01:48:40):
know if bou knew this. They are in first and
they have a Terry says it's May, Yeah, it is May.
But you know what if you talked to him at
the beginning of the season, he would not even have admitted.
In May, the Padres would have been in first. But
the old baseball saying says, if you're in first by
Memorial Day, that's it. Baby. Well, the that's a silly thing. Well,

(01:49:01):
the Reds are nowhere near first, and they haven't been
in a long time. And yes, her understandings upside down there, Yes,
we can turn you upside down. The Reds lose to
the Cubs tend to to And with that we send
it back to Andy Furman and you see f fanboy
Brian No. Wow, Okay, the interest is truly amazing. We'll

(01:49:25):
get to that in just about a minute. Brian No
will have knows picks in about five minutes from now.
But I didn't forget this be because you brought this
up a couple of sevenths ago about the inner workings
of Fox Sports Radio and the conflicts. So I'm gonna
let you take it away. You were talking to Uh,
I guess Chris, who's gonna tell you about some of
the inner conflicts behind the scenes. He remember produce a

(01:49:47):
coast conflicts. Oh yeah, he's not. He's not talking about
that on the air man. You know, Bo Bo is
all professional. Bow doesn't want to cause waves. You know
you're not gonna do that on the air. Why do
you think he was like, I'll tell you that off
the air, Bryan. Sometimes waves are good. Though. Yeah, he's
not gonna do those ways. So we okay, we move on.
By the way, this is as I say, right up

(01:50:08):
your rally station. Casinos in Vegas put the Tim Tebow
touchdown prop on the board, took an instant action two
thousand dollar limit bed and the under of two point
five touchdowns for Tim Tebow. This is an amazing situation.
I mean it amazes me because they said that they
had an over and under about a week ago, a

(01:50:29):
couple of months ago actually on the new Los Angeles
Ronds quarterback Matthew Stafford. This is like in the at
the end of March and one week the amount waged
on the Tebow prop had passed the handle on the
Stafford prop. This Tim Tebow thing, there's like Tebow mania.
It's unbelievable. Really, I don't know how you could bet
the over at all, Like, what what are the betting

(01:50:50):
odds for the under that he he scores under two
and a half touchdowns. I don't think. I don't think
he's even gonna make the team. But what I'm curious
what the betting line is? Is it minus I don't
know something that the under I think was open at
the minus one. Now it's minus now, it's that's it.

(01:51:11):
It's It's not a whole lot of juice if it
was something like minus two thousand or like I got
a late two thousand just to win a hundred. Now
I'm not gonna do that. But minus what do you
say one sixty five that he doesn't store over to
and open open. Oh my gosh, dude, you gotta pound
the under if you're looking for a prop bet an amazing.

(01:51:33):
I mean, first of all, I don't even understand why
he would even have a prop bet two. You know
the answer to that. But come on, it's why are
we talking about this right now because it's Tim Tebow?
Why are people betting on it because it's Tim Tebo?
They'd be out of their mind not to have understand.
But but the the additional the amendment heal, the addend

(01:51:54):
them is the fact that you're having a prop that
of a guy who may not even be on the team,
and they're still betting on him. That's what I don't understand.
I mean, yeah, he gotta try out, and he got
a contract that gets to try out, but he hasn't
made the fifty three man roster, which I assume he
probably will, but there's no guarantee. Why would Why would
you assume that? Because he's next door neighbors with the coach.
The coach took care of him, and and in life,

(01:52:15):
that's what it's all about, right, isn't it. You know
who He's gonna be thirty four playing a brand new position,
and he's failed in the NFL before he has well, Yeah,
but like I think the odds are better that he
doesn't make the team. But even if he does, which
I think it's a long shot, I would take the

(01:52:35):
under on the touchdowns. I just look, that's one of
those bets. A good bet is even if you're wrong,
if you don't get mad about it. That's a bet
where if I took the under two and a half
touchdowns on Tebow with me personally thinking he's not going
to make the team, if somehow he made the team
and hit the over untouchdowns, I'm not kicking myself, like

(01:52:56):
I'd be stupid. How did I not see that coming.
I'm just like, man, I'm not even mad about that one.
That's just outlandish. I never saw that coming. If it happens,
but I don't think it will. You know, Urban Meyer
right now, I gotta believe he's somewhat criticized. But I
guess when you're coaching a team that has gone nowhere
for so long, you know, no one really cares. They
may be like not even in the in the mainstream

(01:53:18):
of sports conversation. Maybe now, I don't know, but hiring
that trainer and that we have been talking about this
Tim Tebow thing for weeks on end. This isn't flying
under the radar with Urban I'm talking about Urban Mayah
maybe flying on the way I'm not doing with Tebow.
Tebow isnerent animal because what he has done, what he

(01:53:42):
has done in that city would be major news in
any other city, but maybe in Jacksonville. It's just it's
a blob blob here, blob there. Can you imagine if
he was in Chicago and this something like this, What
if Urban Maya was coaching of the Bears and and
hired Tim Tebow and he hired a train and I
don't know where, Like you didn't stop this rant. You're
acting as if no one has said anything about urban

(01:54:04):
Meyer and signing Tim Tebow. What are you talking about
the last couple of weeks, he hasn't hasn't gotten heat.
There are people all over the place, media fans like
what is this guy doing? This is stupid? This is
his favoritism something people are throwing out. It's white privilege.
That's all we've been talking about for a couple of weeks.

(01:54:27):
And like urban Meyer, no one said anything about the guy.
Are you serious? He's got warm, he's got he doesn't
have white heat. He does not when I talk about
white heat when it's really hot. And I'll tell you
if he was in l a New Yorker, Chicago, be
really hot heat. But wrong on this one, man, I
don't know if you can measure right. It's my opinion.
I don't. I don't even know if there's a right
or wrong here. But honestly, Jacksonville is not a hot

(01:54:49):
bit of a media market. That's why I don't think
he's getting a lot of criticism and or heat. You know,
as I do, he's getting like stop with that, he's
getting criticized he's getting heat. There's a lot of conversation
is not at Jacksonville thing? And no one said anything
about you. That's all anybody's talked about for a couple
of weeks. And you know as well as I do
that in smaller markets, especially in small college football town's

(01:55:12):
media guys are basically cheerleaders. And and I think jackson
is a national story. This is forget about Jacksonville. Okay,
we've been talking about this on a national level. That's
how big of a story it is. Like, it's It's
just this is not the example to use. If you
talk about the Tennessee Titans and they're flying under the

(01:55:33):
national radar and we don't talk a whole lot about Tannehiller, fine,
that makes a lot of sense. This Urban Meyer signing
Tim Tebow story has not flown under the radar at all. Okay, Look,
I'm not gonna argue because in my mind, and maybe
my mind is what. Maybe I'm wrong. I just think
that when it hit, it was big and it's sort
of gone away. I'm saying in other cities I think

(01:55:56):
would be lingering, lingering a little more so. But that's
so hey, you know, that's my thing, and this is yours,
and that's you know. Again, we could agree to disagree.
I just think that in other cities it would have
been a biggest story, and it would have lasted a
lot longer. It would have been on talk radio almost
on a daily basis. He would have been hounded and pounded.
And I don't think he's being hounded and pounded as

(01:56:17):
he should. That's all I'm saying. You know, and you
maybe you're right. I don't know. It's what's one of
those gray areas. Okay. I don't think there's a right
or wrong, that's all. I'm not gonna get huffy and
puffy on it with you, I promise, Okay, thank you,
all right, we'll move on. Of course, I want to
hear your picks, and then I could get healthy and
puffyling you with your picks if you're wrong. All right,

(01:56:39):
deal sounds great? All right, there we go. He's probably no.
I'm Andy Firman. This is Fox Sports Sunday and Fox
Sports Ready, and I say this, love thy neighbor, but
not like this. That's next. Those picks coming right up.
That's probably no. I'm Andy Ferman. This is Fox Sports
Sunday on Fox Sports Radio, but a little minutes before
the top of the hour, and by the way, at

(01:57:01):
the top of the hour that will be ane o'clock
on the East Coast. The dynamic duo of Mike Harmon
and LaVar Arrington will join you and you can hit
him on the I Heart app on Serious ex M
Channel Lady three, and of course many of these same
Fox Sports Radio affiliates Arrington and Harmon at the top
of the hour. But right now it's time for Brian
no and nose picks. Are you in desperate need of

(01:57:28):
gambling insights? Do not fear for Brian no is here? Yeah, yeah,
and now the time is cup for nose picks, all right,
Andy Furman, disappointing week one and two. Remember I thought
my picks were good. You even thought I was gonna
go three and oh to Unfortunately under five not good.
But I like the picks. Today, I've got a bonus

(01:57:50):
pick for you as well. So I'm gonna start with
the NBA Clippers MAVs Game four. I'm taking the over.
It's two one to half. This has been a points fest.
Neither can stop either. I'm taking the over in that
one today and I'm also going to look. You gotta
wait until Tuesday, but I'm gonna take the Blazers plus

(01:58:11):
a point and a half on the road in Game
five against the Nuggets. I think Portland's the better team,
so I'll take the point in a half in that one.
That's actually your bonus pick. I actually have two other
baseball games to get to. I'm gonna go with my
red Birds today. St. Louis only minus one six at
the Diamondbacks. The d Backs have lost thirteen. Yeah, just

(01:58:34):
go with the Cardinals. And also I'll shoehorn some Cincinnati
Reds talk in here real fast. Take the over. It's
eight and a half. About seventy of Red's games have
gone over this year. I went to the Wells last week.
I'm doing it again. That was my one correct pick,
taking the Reds over. So I'm doing it again. Reds

(01:58:56):
and Cubs over eight a half. There you go, especially, yeah,
what do you think? Four? And now I'm worried about
the Portland's Denver game at yeats. Time to go your
own way. And hey, by the way, I love thy neighbor, right, okay?

(01:59:17):
Or if you can't love them, at least do them
No harm. Really, this neighbor didn't exactly feel this way,
so much so he actually attempted the harm his neighbor
in the form of a fire and Iowa Man said,
his neighbor's house on fire not because of something they did,
but because of something they didn't do. Get this now,
he was mad because they didn't mowas lawn. Police were

(01:59:39):
called to the house around six o'clock on a Saturday
because of the flames. Leave Bowman, fifty three years of age,
of Sioux City, admitted that he was upset because he
had asked his neighbors to mows lawn on Saturday and
they didn't. By Sunday, they still had not cut his grass.
She went over and asked him again when they would
do it. Surveillance videos show he tried to take a
registration sticker of one of their v goals. The fire

(02:00:01):
was discovered by a neighbor that nave A banged on
the door, learning them to this situation. The corner of
the home was burned, causing an estimated three thousand dollars
in damage. Bowman was arrested child at first degree arson
and criminal mischief and it's in jail on twenty thousand
dollars bail moda guy's lawn. Well, ye oh, my goodness,
some people are just maniacs. You didn't mow my lawn.

(02:00:23):
He's the same kind of spitting Trey Young's face. Unreal. Okay,
just when you're thinking about losing faith in humanity, I've
got a story for you. I'm taking it a Southwick, Massachusetts. Huh.
There's a Massachusetts woman who accidentally tossed out a one
million dollar winning lottery ticket. She was on a hurry

(02:00:43):
to work. She bought a ticket, a thirty dollar diamond
million scratch off ticket, so she scratched it off real fast.
You didn't think it was a winner. So she handed
it back to the convenience store, and she was on
her lunch break, and she looked at it real quick,
handed it back the son of the store owner. He
looked and he says this quote. One evening, I was

(02:01:05):
going through the tickets from the trash and found out
that she didn't scratch the number. I scratched the number
and it was one million dollars underneath the ticket. End quote.
They got in touch with this woman and she has
a million dollars. She says, I mean, who does that.
They're great people, all beyond blessed, that's what. But the
store gets a cut. They get some money. If you

(02:01:25):
buy a winning ticket in the store, they get a
little bit. Yeah, they could have had the whole cut,
they alerted this woman. So very nicely done. Yeah right, yeah,
that's a that's a little bit better than them burning
your house down on purpose, you know, no doubt about that.
By the way, it's been wonderful today, have a wonderful

(02:01:48):
Memorial Day. Our time is up. Thank you for you
as We'll see you next week right here on Fox
