Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports. What's going on? I hope
you're enjoying your Saturday evening. Everybody, you just want to
quick I can tell from your voice, Yeah what what
fool's gold jazz? And I am here to tell you, huh,

(00:21):
you were right. That's all I ask That's all I
asked for a little validation here, not just in radio,
but in life. Big man, I appreciate you letting it
be known that I got that one right. Very rare
does this happen, But even the trash can gets a

(00:41):
stake sometimes, and a broken clock is right twice a day.
Mm hmmmm. Well this is man verbal Bouquet's handed out
by you. I feel literally the rose pedals at my feet,
no backhanded compliments whatsoever. Very genuine, earnest, completely completely earnest

(01:09):
and well deserved. Well, thank you. Appreciate that It's it
was bound to happen. Yeah, this isn't the only prediction
I've gotten right though, big Man. Well, hey, props to
the Clippers. You gotta start with that down O two
in the series. They come back, they win the next

(01:31):
two games, then they lose Kawai Leonard and a lot
of people thought that's it. They're done and they didn't
drop another game without Kauai won two straight games. Props
to Paul George the last two games, especially Game five
on the road, he was magnificent. And last night Terrence
Man with thirty nine points. That was a special performance

(01:52):
by that guy. I don't know who saw that one coming. No,
that that was out of body. That may never have
and again but he he was there. He answered the call,
he answered the bail, and boy, he made himself a
bunch of money. I can tell you that he's gonna
be able to write that game for a long time.

(02:14):
That was his moment right there. And look on the
other side, Donovan Mitchell, I mean, he doesn't have anything
to be ashamed about. He played great last night. Thirty nine,
nine and nine is what Mitchell did with a bum
wheel had the ankle problem. It's just look, they didn't

(02:35):
get anything from Mike Conley. He gave it a go
in Game six, only five points, one for eight from
the field. That obviously hurt the Jazz's chances. And also
Rudy Rudy Gobert. It was crazy how that second half
played out where Utah was unbelievable in the second quarter
looked like we're headed back to Utah for Game seven,
and then the second half occurred. The second half occurd,

(02:59):
and it seemed the Clippers couldn't miss Who's yeah, that's it,
That's what it was, right, I'm telling you, big bat.
They were a try hard Utah was a try hard
regular season team. And that isn't just a complete diss
I mean they shot the ball extremely well from from
distance uh and the number one team in in terms

(03:21):
of UH shots taken and percentage made during a regular season.
That team was built to do that, and we saw
glimpses of that. They just weren't able to put whole
games down the stretch like that, making making ten in
the first quarter in Game five, Right, it's like, whoa
what this is about to be crazy? I know right

(03:43):
that they were lights out the first half of Game
five from three and couldn't buy a three in the
second half. Yeah. And then even last night, look at
the Jazz from three. They sh They made twenty one
three pointers and they still lost by twelve. The thing
that killed them was on the defensive end. Having Rudy

(04:04):
Gobert in the game was probably the worst decision that
Snyder could have. I mean, you can get fired for that.
He had no business on that floor in the fourth
quarter when they were making their run. It couldn't be
more obvious. Anyone watching basketball, even if you didn't know.
My nine year old was like, hey, that big guys

(04:25):
shouldn't even be out there, Dad, Like for real, Like,
I mean, you want to talk about blow by it
instead of adjusting and going small. He because he won
the Defensive Player of the Year, You're gonna keep him
in the game. Yeah. No, I'm good, We're good. We're

(04:46):
gonna go small and match this. Yeah. There's this thought
process of let's dance with who brang us? No, No,
I want to dobody else, somebody else exactly. I go by,
I go by. Let's not stick with something that clearly
isn't working. That makes no sense. Yeah, and that's why

(05:10):
they lost. Zoobots not on the court. You're not on
the court, Rudy. That's it, right, that's it. If he's
not there, you're not there. That as a coach, that's
what I'm I'm like, Yoh, we gotta make an adjustment.
We gotta change, we gotta take we gotta take roudiaou

(05:32):
I gotta take Roudio. I will keep saying that we
gotta take Roodie. You know what's funny too, is all
of the criticism of the Clippers, and they deserved a
lot of it. Last year they blew a three one lead,
and just think about everything we heard, Oh, the lack
of chemistry, preferential treatment, on and on and on. You

(05:53):
know what's crazy is that you taw also blew a
three one lead against the very same opponent. Denver came
back three one against Utah and against the Clippers last year,
and all we heard about was the Clippers. That's like,
you could go up to an NBA fan and be like, hey,
who did Utah lose to last year? They'd be like,

(06:13):
oh gosh, uh man, a little fuzzy on those details.
They blew a three one lead also, and we didn't
hear anything. We didn't hear oh Rudy Goberon Donovan Mitchell,
they're not on the same page. They're kind of like
the Tennessee Titans of the NBA. Utah is right like
they're they're talked about a little bit with Mitchell, but

(06:34):
we don't dive into them as a team. You're not
on prime time a lot um and we you know,
we don't. No one expected them two even give the
Clippers a game. You know, they came out up to
oh and it was like, Okay, whoa, maybe this is

(06:58):
the Clippers from last year. Clearly it's not. And as
much as it pains me because I am a diehard
Clipper hater, only for the fact that that they're not
competition for the Lakers, because in in a rivalry or
in a competition, there has to be at least a
semi level playing field, right, the only competition now, we're

(07:24):
not really we share the same building, and I would
say we share the same city, but we don't really
share the same city, right, it's not this is a
Laker town. We all know that. Now, if the Clippers
end up winning a championship, which they have a good
opportunity to, its still won't make your rivalry because they're

(07:46):
so far behind, like they have fifty years of catching
up to do. Yeah, I hear you now, Building off
of what you just said, I have some top shelf
audio for you. I'm Iran know he'sy from salam here
on Fox Sports Radio TYLU. After the game last night,

(08:06):
Clippers advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the first
time ever in franchise history. You e from Salam Diehart,
Laker fan, I have a one hundred percent accuracy evaluation
of how you will react. You already know, you already
play exactly how you should react. Just seeing our fans

(08:28):
and how they stayed to the end and how they
would cheer, and um, it just you know, it just
felt good. It was a great feeling, you know. And um,
like I said, a team in starving pust some success,
the fan base has been doing the same thing. And
you know, um to me, I just you know, I
always look at it differently, Like, you know, I know
the Lakers are out and there's a lot of Laker
fans here, But once the Lakers are gone, if we're
not playing Lakers, you should be cheering for the Clippers.

(08:50):
And that's just how I feel because all one city
and I can just feel in love and you know,
I'm just very happy and proud of our guys. False
completely out of touch with what what what? Reality makes
no sense? Hey, ask the Mets fans exactly as Mets fans,

(09:13):
what what they think? The Knicks fans stay in the
same city. Ask if in college football, if USC's pulling
for the Bruins, you know, like, come on, it's just
not how it cas. You think alburn is pulling for Alabama.
The only way is if it benefits you, if it
beats up your strength of schedule and you can get
to the college football PLAYERFF or whatever. If it only

(09:35):
benefits you, then yeah, you'll make that one exception. Other
than that, No, you're not pulling for the rival because
you're in the same city. That was when I heard that.
I was like, wow, he was so I mean that
it didn't It made even less sense exactly all remember

(09:57):
tylu getting stepped over by Allen Iverson he played for
the Lakers. Tyler did. It would be one thing if
he was just sort of out of touch and not
really understanding of the rivalry, like he's well aware. That
was crazy. I was like, come on, Tyler, I get it.
You're excited. Yeah, you guys did it and and and

(10:18):
kudos to you, but don't get it twisted. There will
be no Laker fans cheering for the for the Clippers
does not work like that. We gave several examples of
that with what with teams that share states. Not gonna happen. Oh, gosh, yeah,

(10:39):
the list just goes on. You think there's a pile
of Knicks fans lining up in in Brooklyn. You're on
the nets. That's the same town you think. You think
that's really happening right now. You think the Mets fans
are on the train to to get to Yankee Stadium
to cheer them in the in the playoffs. I just,

(11:00):
you know, I pictured you driving on the highway, you know,
and you just drive by a car that has a
Clippers flag or something, you know, some sort of Clippers
uh memorabilia rocking out as if you're gonna drive by
and like give a little fist pump, like come on, guys,

(11:20):
hope you bring it home as a Laker fan. No way,
it feels dirty. Even that it makes me feel like
I need to go wash up right now. Hey, I
get it. I totally get it. Hey. By the way,
is your dad's razor older than you are? Get him
something new for Father's Day. A D S C six

(11:44):
blade razor is perfect for an extra close, precise shave.
Get one now at a store near you, or as
part of a gift set at Dollar Shave Club dot com.
Slash jonas that's Dollar shave club dot Com, slash Jonas.
We got a lot to do, big man. I you know,

(12:04):
I smell a potential Candy bar Bett tonight. I think
we might be able to broke her a deal. Here.
We'll see Game seven set to tip not too long
from now. So we're doing a hybrid some sports talk
and a live watch party. You know, we do a
little hybrid radio show tonight, but maybe a Candy bar

(12:25):
Bett depending on which side from his leaning. We'll get
to that coming up. I'm Brian No, He'sy from Salam
This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian No. He'sy from
Salam here on Fox Sports Radio. Get one guess to
name this band. I don't want you to let me
down here, big man. Who are you going with? Pantera? Unfortunately,

(12:52):
you have let me down. It's all right. That is
uh lamb of God? Right, Yeah, sounded a little bit
like Panterra. Yeah. I just that statement is so good,
so good. I don't know if the people listening get
full enjoyment out of that, but it's just, you know,

(13:15):
it's it's a skill to act like whatever the subject is,
act like you know more than you actually Yeah, you
know it did it sounded like Phil Anselmo in Pantera
right there. You know, Well, I'll be better next round.
Good stuff, good look by you. Okay, big man. So
we've got Bucks v. Nets Game seven. It's gonna tip

(13:39):
it about at twenty minutes or so before we get
into layers upon layers. Simply who you like in this game?
You know this is a tough one, all right. I
can't hear the sound. I have it in the studio.
I don't know who's playing. Is Kyrie playing? Nope, I
don't believe so Kyrie's out. Is half of James Harden playing?

(14:03):
I don't think anything more than half Katie's playing? Right?
Oh he is alight, right, Ah. Joe Harris is still
on a milk carton right now. We still haven't found him. Yeah. Uh,
maybe he's hanging out with Nicks fans because they're pulling
for him. Um, you know what, this is a toss

(14:26):
up for me? Yeah, so we are, we're going to bed.
I say we're calling and just ride with it because
at this point I don't I really don't know. I
feel strongly about this one. Okay. Yeah. Hashtag Fear the Deer,

(14:49):
hashtag Fear the Dear ra most. That's what I'm going
with here. Now. I think this is true in betting.
I know it's true in betting, big Man. There are
times where there's a team you feel really strongly about,
Like the Super Bowl. I felt really strongly that Tampa
was gonna win when the Chiefs gave me a call
to see if I could play left tackle before the game.

(15:09):
You know what I mean, when you have backups. I
I felt strongly about that. There are other times where
it's the opposite. I don't feel strongly about the Bucks.
We've seen them with themselves in big moments time and
time again. Jannice can't shoot. He's a disaster at the
free throw line. I don't love the Bucks. I just
like the Nets less because they're so banged up. That's

(15:32):
how I look at this game. It's not that all
Bucks ice water in the veins can clearly trust this team.
I just have less faith in the Nets. That's how
I look at it. That makes sense, you know, Um,
it's tough because it's hard to have faith and Milwaukee

(15:53):
as well to the last two years, they've let us
down drastically. Right now, you know, having holiday there helps tremendously.
UM and the game that they did lose, they didn't
even utilize Holiday. Right, he's the point guard. He should
be bringing the ball up the court, having um Janice

(16:19):
in the high post, and a couple of those games,
honest was bringing the ball up and I'm like, well,
what's the point, you know? So it depending on which
way they go coaching wise. I mean, this is this
is his jobs on the line. Oh, it totally is.
He can't do the same thing. No, he gotta coach.
He gotta be out of unworldly coaching right now, he

(16:41):
got a coach out of his mind. Well, it was
just game five last time they were in Brooklyn, Kevin
Durant with one of the best performances you will ever
see in playoff history. Actually, just statistically the only performance
we've ever seen an NBA playoff history where a player
scored over forty five points with at least fifteen rebounds

(17:02):
and ten assists. No one has ever done that. So
the whole point is, if k D he's got it
working tonight, you can't single cover the guy, double him,
forced Harden to beat you, forced Landry Shammon or Joe
Harris or whoever to consistently make shots. But You can't
just allow k D with single coverage if whatever p J.

(17:27):
Tucker or Holidays matched up on him, you can't do that.
Send Jannice Adam, send double teams if k D hasn't working.
They didn't do that in Game five, and they got
killed because of that. The crazy thing is they tried
to put Janice on him, and Jane is a terrible
wing defender at me and and and I'll say this,

(17:51):
k D is such a an unguardable talent out there
on the wing. He crossed him over one time. Johannest
was almost in the stands. I was like, where are
you going? I think the nets put it out there
in slow motion on Twitter also it looked even worse. Yeah,
did they show that? Like it was like I was
watching that game and I'm like, oh, he has no
business out there, Like he can't. It's no way he

(18:14):
can stay in front of Kevin Durant. So if he
can't stay in front of him, he can't challenge a shot.
So why even do it? I think just to change
up the looks, and this is k D is just
wrecking right. You know that's a look he would want, right,
Changing up the looks only works if there's pressure apply

(18:35):
like even when Holiday, Like even when Holiday is guarding him,
that's a different look because he's applying pressure on him.
He can stay in front of him up top, and
then he goes into the post and Holiday fights him,
gets in front front him, so the backside defender can
be there. Those are different looks. But if you're gonna

(18:56):
put Janice at the top of the key, again, that's
not a look because that's a crossover. And I'm I
got a wide open shot. Well, every defender is at
a disadvantage against Kate. Yeah, but I will take my
I will take my hat off to p J. Tucker
boy that he absolutely does. And yeah he got a
fifty ball dropped out of forty nine ball dropped on him.

(19:18):
But he he Kevin durand hates him. He will poke, pinch, push,
uh prod all of those things. He just that's like
you go to your family union and you got this
one little cousin who like maybe two three years younger
than you, which is cool when you guys are are

(19:40):
nine and six, but when you're sixteen and thirteen right
where you're eighteen and fifty, it's not cool. He wants
to hang out. He going, he want to go everywhere
you go. You're like, yo, man, get away, we're talking
to girls and your thirteen year old. But over that,
that's what p J Tucker is doing. Did he just

(20:01):
constantly bothering him? He can't spit his game And but
by a game, I mean hooping. He just makes it
tough for him. And uh, you know, I just I
just garded a whole another level of respect, uh for
p J this series. I hear you. But he battling.

(20:23):
He's making life as difficult as possible, still giving him
the business work. Yeah. So it's if it's the fourth
quarter and it's a close game and k D has
just got it, he's in a groove. I want to see,
honest on him, maybe that the entire fourth quarter. But
he's gonna get some stops. It's not like k D

(20:43):
in front of him, Man, he can't stay in front
of him. If you can't get your feet to stay
in front of a wing offensive player, it nullifies your
height because now you can't you're so off balanced. When
the offensive player stops and shoots, you can't collect and
and and use your height. You can't do it. And

(21:06):
unless he can stay in front of him. I mean
that wide stands he uses with his arms spread out.
It doesn't allow him to move laterally quick enough because
once he steps one direction, his feet are so spread
apart he can't change directions. That's the signs behind footwork

(21:29):
right there. You know, would never stop k D ever,
like he's just no shot whatsoe No I think if
he if he, I don't see why he would ever
be on him in the post. I don't think k
D would ever take him down there. But if he
was in the high post or something like that, I
think that's where he can, you know, give him the
most trouble. But KDS not taking him down there. He's

(21:51):
keeping him at the wing. He knows that, he knows,
he knows that the more space he has with the
honest gardener, the better off it will be. I'm not
asking your honest to be with him step for step
because of everything that you explained right there. But if
he gets rock in one way he's a little off balance,
he's still long enough to challenge a shot and make

(22:13):
life difficult. I don't want to see Honest on him
occasionally tonight occasionally, That's all I'm asking for okay, I'll
go with that. That that would be good. Yeah, are
we betting on this? You seem like you're like flip
a coin. It doesn't seem like you want to put
a candy bar on the nets. I'm not comfortable. I
don't know if no problem. Oh wow, France, nice goal.

(22:39):
That's a that's a phrase I never thought I would
hear from you. That's uh yeah, that's when I didn't anticipate.
We'll see if a friend of America, if he has
any phrases in his latest sports update that neither one
of us saw coming. It's happened before, it could happen again.
Everybody someone who is a pleasure to work with, a

(23:02):
humanitarian and doubles as an update Acre on the weekends.
Mr Stephen Saker, you guys talked about the Clipper game
last night. Didn't that feel like one of these once
in a generation evenings, not only for Terrence Men but
for the franchise. It was really a truly phenomenal second half,
the likes of which I don't know if we're going
to see again from this teap and then watch it

(23:24):
will probably happen like Thursday. But it was really amazing
In fact, the Clippers are the first team in NBA
history to win a playoff game by double digits after
trailing by at least twenty at the half. And remember
they were down twenty five early second half. This is
a franchise that went thirty years without winning a single
playoff series through two thousand six. And then there was

(23:46):
the stat floating around before last night's game they had
had in their history eight chances to get to the
Western Conference Finals before eight chances to clinch a lot
of it in very recent years, and they've gone over eight.
And here they're down twenty five early second half and
still win. And by the way, the Clippers in the
playoffs were down thirty one to Golden State and came

(24:08):
back to win a playoff game. They were down twenty
seven to Memphis and came back to win a playoff game.
Speaking of comebacks Philadelphia's collapse on Wednesday, Atlanta was down
twenty six and came back to win that one. So
we're gonna have a game seven in that series tomorrow night,
Philadelphia hosting Atlanta. We're just about to get underway with
a Game seven of the second round series, Milwaukee at Brooklyn,

(24:30):
Kyrie Irving is out again with a sprained ankle. By
the way, the West Finals starts Sunday afternoon, Clippers at
Phoenix Kawhi. Leonard of l A, with his sprain knee,
will not travel to the series opener, according to Ya who,
Leonard missed the last two games against Utah, both comebacks.
Sons guard Chris Paul is still in the league's health protocols.
That is not a good sign for a day game

(24:51):
to start the series tomorrow. It doesn't mean he's declared out.
That hasn't happened yet, but he is, according to the
one sentence statement from the team today, still in health protocols.
In the NHL Semifinals, there is a game tonight late
mid first period rather Lightning scoreless at the Islanders. Lightning
lead the series two games to one. The Canadians lead

(25:11):
the other semifinal two games to one over Vegas. They
play tomorrow night. At soccer's Euro Tournament, Hungry tied France
one to one, Germany four two over Portugal, Poland tied
Spain won one. Copa America is off tonight in Major
League Baseball St. Louis in Atlanta due to play tonight
that's been rained out. They'll try to play a double
header tomorrow. Houston has won five games in a row

(25:33):
and is winning tonight five one over the White Sox
in the bottom of the fourth inning. Reds and Padres
tied to two in the fourth, and the Nationals and
Mats are playing a double header. The first game was
a makeup from early in the season when the Nationals
had a virus outbreak. The Mets won five one today
as Francisco Lindor at all five rb I s, but
the Nationals are winning in the nightcap. They've just secured

(25:55):
UH six two of victory over the Mets. John Lester
goes six innings for the win. And gentlemen, we have
good news to pass along as Denmark soccer star Christian
Ericsson surprised his team in the middle of practice, showing
up in person yesterday to get everyone a hug. His
teammates gave the news out today because it was yesterday.
Erickson was discharged from a Copenhagen hospital. This is the

(26:17):
player who last weekend had a cardiac event on the
field during the game had to be resuscitated with a defibrillator.
As the team doctor later said, he was gone and
he came back ericson age is doing well? Quote? In fact,
do you remember he was quote on one of the
Twitter updates this week all things considering doing well? There

(26:39):
is the question, now where do we go from here?
I mean, he plays professionally with inter Milan, one of
the big clubs in Europe. Will he one day go
back to playing with them? Well? A p says that
it's the Italian Olympic Committee, which is responsible for all
sports there and it bars players from playing with internal defibrillators,
which is what implanted in him before he got out

(27:01):
of the hospital yesterday. Such devices would need to be
approved uh certificate of physical integrity before he could ever
get back on the field there. Back to you, do
you see that last phrase right there? I've never heard
that before. What was it? The it's translation from Italian?

(27:21):
He would need a certificate of physical integrity on it.
Certificate of physical integrity. That is a phrase right there
that is for the archives. How about just a common
man's thinking of you play soccer, what if you get
hit around the chest? Totally? Yeah that that could be
really bad about you could die? Yeah, yeah, just thinking

(27:47):
that's just something to consider I'm Brian No. He'sy from
salam here on Fox Sports Radio early going just a
couple of minutes in k D just drained a three
Milwaukee with an early six five lead. You know how
I feel bad for Chris Middleton. Chris Middleton dropped thirty
eight points. He was magnificent last game, and it's just
he gets lost in the shuffle. No one's gonna sing

(28:08):
the praises of Chris Middleton, you know why, because he's
let him down before, and you know Bill to be
a true number two, which he's not. We get it.
He's a good complimentary piece. But you can't hinge everything
on Chris Middleton showing up. That's fair, But think about PG.

(28:31):
Paul George has had some playoffs stinkers before. He had
a playoffs stinker last year in Game seven for the Clippers.
And we still give him his props if he deserves it.
Paul George, she said a lot of stinkers. I mean
he's built it. He's built a career on that in
the playoffs, so that that's warranted. Now he's unwriting that

(28:52):
right now, doing a phenomenal job. He's he's really unwriting
that narrative. And you know players have the ability to
do that. That's the great thing about and that's how
good these guys are. You can find yourself in a
position Paul has been in league over a decade. You
can find yourself in a position where you can change
the narrative totally. You know, look at Chris Paul. This

(29:16):
is the first time he's been in the conference finals ever.
I think it's crazy about Middleton. If you compare Middleton
to Paul George, Paul George makes you say wow, way
more than Middleton does. Middleton is a good player, But
I just think that we're in this sort of like
highlight driven day and age where we really collavitate toward

(29:38):
the athletes that have flash, and Middleton doesn't flash. Sales
tennis shoes, nobody's buying h a air Middleton. That's that's
but he's valuable, there's no doubt. I even think Terence
Man dropping thirty nine, he did it with some flash yesterday.

(29:58):
He did Yeah, Like I'm telling you that young man
can really just take off like that. That could be
the start of something special for him in his in
his career. Like that was big, That was big and unexpected.

(30:19):
And if he can continue to follow that up man,
especially for that franchise to first ever trip to the
conference finals. You talk about being in the good graces
of a franchise, you know, Oh gosh, Balmer was about
to open mouse kiss those. I was like, whoa, whoa

(30:39):
slow down be the theme of the playoffs. We've got
the Steve Nash just hugging Kevin Duran after Game five,
and I get it. Balmer hugging Paul George after game
five and then like you said, Balmer was he's ready
for love Terence Man yesterday. But hey, look when after
Richards NBA owner and spare no expense, you know, spare

(31:05):
no expense. I want to get to at the top
of the hour, who do you love? If you just
go team by team, who's alive right now? Who do
you love? Is it anybody to win a championship? There's
too many questions on all of these, you know, injury
being the biggest. Yea, if if Brooklyn is if Brooklyn

(31:30):
is healthy completely, they're of course they're the favorites. I mean,
it's too much firepower and I'll swear anybody, but they're not.
And so there's a question mark there. You look at
the Suns. They're very young, UM haven't been in this position.
The uncertainty of Chris Paul I can't go there, We

(31:51):
don't we don't know what. Right you look at the
Clippers and the uncertainty of Kauai. I mean it, they're
not saying anything, but I guess two games first. But
think about they're not saying what it is or anything
like that. I know when you just mentioned the initials
A c L and that's all we got there fearing

(32:15):
it's an A c L related injury, that's the last
we've heard. Yeah, and that's you, you know, partially torn.
Any of that is horrific news for the for the Clippers.
So can you are you gonna you're gonna hang your
hat on man and and and uh PG thirteen to

(32:39):
win the championship? I just I don't know that. I
guess the only team at full strength right now is
is is Milwaukee, and we don't even know if they
can get to the Eastern Conference files. So how who
do you who's the clear the odds on favorite? What
do you do? It's one of those, like you said,

(33:00):
it's gonna be Brooklyn, but we don't know that they're
gonna win tonight and still be in the playoffs with
them being shorthanded. So it's all about tonight. If if
the Nets survived tonight, they're the favorites because it's just
a matter of time until Kyrie Irving is back. And
you know, even if James Harden is just hobbled Harden

(33:21):
from here on out, if you get Kyrie back close
to himself, you get like close to Kyrie, like half
a hardened that's probably enough to win a title right there. Yeah,
I mean yeah, I would say, especially if the West
isn't packing its full punch. I just think the Sons
are too young. Outside of Chris Paul, I think they're

(33:42):
too young. Alright, Coming up next, who's in a worse position?
I'm Brian, though he's he from Salamis is Fox Sports Radio.
I'm Brian though he's he from salam here on Fox
Sports Radio. That's a good way to endear yourself to
the big man there, Ramos. You know it's one of
his go to musicians friends. You can't never go wrong

(34:09):
with Prince. I can't go wrong, cannot How do you
feel about you honest's free throw routine? There? From where
you do you do your James Harden impression from the
last game where you honice. Before he even gets the ball,
he's mimicking his shooting motion as the official is just waiting,
just waiting for him to give the little nod. Okay,
here's the ball, and then he goes into the elaborate

(34:30):
dribbling the ball into the floor routine, which it doesn't
work at all. It was it was so funny. One
of the games I can't remember the thing was last
series where he was trying to do his thing. The
ref just threw him the ball. It's like he tried
to throw a bag and the ref was like, no,
shoot the basketball, like for real. Like he like, the
ref was like, I'm not standing I'm look, I'm not

(34:52):
about to be standing here while you go through all that, bro,
hit here is the ball. It was hilarious. That's how
it should be. You should be waiting for the man.
You better get up here and shoot the ball. That's
the problem that that he thinks that routine is helping him,
but it's not because he's focusing more on the routine
than the actual shot, right, And that's what I guess

(35:12):
they're they're they're the thinking is just get yourself comfortable.
And all of these things are supposed to make them comfortable,
but in reality it makes it worse because the longer
he takes, the more doubt he has. Yeah, it's a
terrible routine, awful. He'd be better off changing it if
he just went up there to one dribble, closed his
eyes and shot it. I mean, that's what Ben Simmons

(35:37):
should do. Good Lord, we'll talk about being exposed, right,
shoot granny something. Let me ask you stop working. Let
me ask you something. If I paid you a hundred
and seventy seven million dollars, do you think you can
develop a fifteen foot mid range jump shot and a
three point shot? Absolutely? And on top of all you

(36:00):
have to do is get better at basketball four hundred
and seventy seven million dollars. Do you think you can
do that? For? Absolutely? Yes? It's insane. Like Ben Simmons
is just he's so in his head. His free throw
numbers they're just abysmal in this series against the Hawks,

(36:22):
and he's a non factor offensively. He's two for six
with six points the last game. You want to talk
about overrated, I don't want to hear oh as a
magician with the ball. He's that we don't need that.
You are a liability offensively and making a hundred and

(36:43):
seventy seven million dollars. I don't care how good your
defense is. That does not warrant that paycheck. It is
crazy to me. Ben Simmons and Janice, We're both players
have just such great strengths. You're talking about some of
the best defensive players ever. Unbelievable. Ben Simmons can guard

(37:05):
every player on the court one through five. It's insane
what he does. But then the lack of a shot
that's consistent. You can't trust either guy at the free
throw line. It's amazing to me. It's almost you see
these people in life a lot of times might be brilliant,
maybe it's a professor brilliant and whatever area of study

(37:26):
that they've really gone into, and then some of those
people can hardly open their car door, you know what
I mean. Like, that's how I feel about Ben Simmons
and Joanna's obvious strengths, and just like, how is this
such a bad weakness? Just shooting free throws? It blows
my mind. A fifteen foot jump shot. Look, if they
develop that skill, they would be unguardable. Think about that

(37:50):
if they developed that skill. Blake Griffin is standing underneath
the rim when Janice has the ball at the free
throw line extended, and we'll back up again. Are you
kidding me? You mean you can't catch that at the

(38:10):
free throw line, turn and shoot that. Yeah, you can't
do that. I don't want to here. I don't want
to hear about No two time m v B. You
can't shoot a jump shot. I know. I don't want
hear that and those You know how it is with
playoff basketball, it's like everybody turns into a mini Belichick.
We're not going to let you beat us doing what
you do best. We're going to force you to do

(38:33):
what you don't like to do. And it's just man
fish out of water. For both of those dudes with
outside shooting. Oh my gosh, they're their faults are maximized
because you know what, and in in in the playoffs,
we all we talked about this all the time. All
of that is exposed. You can get away with that
during the regular season, but in the playoffs, you're watching

(38:54):
tape and tape and tape. This is a seven game series.
We're going we know what you can't do, and we're
gonna put you into position to continue to have to
do the things that you can't do. So what are
you supposed to work on in the off season your weaknesses,
not your strengths where you don't need to work on

(39:18):
your strengths. Your your open court euro right, you're dunk
when under the you don't need to work on that
in the off season. You come with that. What you
need to work on catching the ball at the free
throw line extended and putting it up. I'm talking about
thousands and thousands and thousands of shots a day. That drill,

(39:40):
that drill, it has to be, has to be by
the way at each corner. You started the baseline, run,
run around the calle, catch the ball, shoot, go to
the other side, NonStop. You gotta make a thousand, gotta
make a thousand. I was talking about Clay Thompson the

(40:02):
other day. I think it was with my barber, you know,
And it's that's what Clay Thompson coming back from injury
with the Warriors, He's gonna be able to shoot again
because that's what he does. He practices shooting and shooting.
I'm shooting, I'm shooting, I'm shooting, so he's still going
to be effective in the n b A. And those
guys Janice and Ben Simmons just to be respectable. We're

(40:23):
not asking for them to be Steph Curry, but you
gotta at least keep a defense honest, and they're not
doing that with a consistent shot, no doubt. Okay, we
will get to who is in a worse position and also, yeah,
it has something to do with this dynamic, just not everything.

(41:29):
your Saturday Game seven. About a minute and a half
to go in the first quarter, nets with the three
point lead. Kind of like a heavyweight prize fight. It's
the early rounds, you know. Maybe a nice little one
to combo by the nets. Oh, nice left hook by
the box. Nothing crazy going on just yet, just trading

(41:51):
a few punches, jostling back and forth, the lead, changing hands,
but no major takeaways just yet. I do look at
Drew Holiday only two for seven, Middleton is two for six.
Those guys gotta get it going. But that's how I
see the first quarter. You any major takeaways thus far,
big man? Uh No, you know, adjustments have been made,

(42:15):
teams are are working their way through those adjustments, and
it's a it's a fight, you know, they're no two
great a words and sports analysts are sports broadcasting in
Game seven, it's a it's a great, great, great thing,
you know. And you know, especially when you have two
comparable teams. Yeah, and these are two heavyweights. Beard oh

(42:40):
for two, James Harden uh seven for seven from the
free throw line. So they've been a little bit aggressive
with their defense and it is It's impressive that Harden
can still make an impact being so limited. He's just
not gonna make close to his normal hardened impact at all,

(43:00):
but he's trying to at least get to the paint,
create some space. I just I hate seeing any athlete
completely impacted by injury. It's the worst, man, It's the worst.
You know. Um, I mean, we saw it affect my team,
the Lakers. We are We're seeing it affect a lot
of teams, you know. That's why I give kudos two

(43:22):
teams like the Clippers who are able to survive that.
The sun survived at early on when Chris Paul was
you know, half a man. It takes a lot. It
takes a great team to be able to do that.
That's where those guys come in. That's where the man's
come to. The Terrence man's come in. You know, out
of nowhere, who you know put that responsibility on themselves.

(43:45):
That's the great thing about sports because you get to
you get to find out you know who you are
and what you have and who you can depend on,
especially in these playoff situations. How about this, earlier in
the week, Lebron came out and he was like, no
One do we have all these injuries jam packed schedule?
I tried to tell him, we got all these all

(44:06):
stars on the shelf. I look at it and I say,
does the jam packed season have something to do with
the injuries? Yeah, but to me, it's case by case.
It doesn't have everything to do with the injuries. Great
example is Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving went up for a
layup and landed on Janice's foot and turned his ankle.

(44:27):
There were six minutes to go in the second quarter, right,
He's not fatigued and just completely worn out, And this
is attrition and you landed on a dude's foot. So
I look at injuries on a case by case basis.
Same thing with Kauai. The way Kauai's in the open court,
Bogdanovitch bumps him, he takes a false step that to me,

(44:48):
is not fatigued. That's just that's sports. How do you
look at what Lebron was throwing out there, like no wonder.
I knew this is gonna happen with the jam pack schedule,
all these injuries occurring, I think, um and what people
have to realize about injuries and professional sports and and
and athletes is the rate of recovery. And um, the

(45:10):
rate of recovery changes depending on depending on your body,
how it's been healing, and you know, the workload things
like that. That's also very important. So you might get
a freak injury, but that freak injury may last longer
because your body is already you know, maximizing, maximizing itself

(45:36):
and and and not you're not operating at at the
full recovery rate. That's that's very important. So a high
ankle sprain takes a month instead of two weeks. Now,
that's I think that's what he's speaking to. Um, the
freak accidents of it all like it. You know, it's

(45:56):
just that recovery aspect after something like that. Pence that
because I'm just speaking from experience. UM, you know, the
older I got in a further along I got it
in my career. You know, usually we play on Sunday
or I think early on in my career I played

(46:16):
on Sunday. By Wednesday I was ready to go. I mean,
I'm I'm chomping at the bit. The older you get,
there were times later on after your you know where
I'm not, I don't feel ready to play until you
know Saturday, you know, Saturday, we gotta game in twelve hours,

(46:36):
and you know, and and that Saturday night after the meetings,
I'm like, Okay, I feel like I'm you know, I've
I've recovered and I'm ready to go. And if I
were to go out there and hurt myself in that game,
there's no way I would be ready to go the
next week. But I would play that And you see
what I'm saying. So that stuff just compounds and it

(46:58):
doesn't allow your to naturally heal at the rate it
would normally heal if it weren't worn down. That's just
the science of it. Like that makes sense. I I
just pushed back on any conversation where it's as if
if there's a pie chart as to, hey, why is
this All Star out of action right now? When the

(47:20):
pie chart sounds like because of the jam Pact schedule,
you know what I mean. Like, if it's Lebron, for instance,
and he had that ankle injury, Solomon Hill dives at
the ball and Lebron's ankle turns awkwardly inward, and is
that the grind of the season. No, to your point,
big man, the grind of the season could have something

(47:41):
to do with the recovery rates. Also, Lebron inching toward
forty has something to do with the record, right, So
if you break it down, it this, it's this. I
just hate when it's, oh, it's the jam Pax. You know,
nobody's going No athletes gonna talk about his age, right right.
That that's that's the more. That's that uh, immortal clause.

(48:06):
No no athletes gonna be like, yeah, I'm getting older. Man,
I can't just do the Nobody wants to look at
it like that. But that also, you're right, that has
a lot to do with it. Um. And so I
just think it's a comminate It's just perfect storm. It's
the combination of of what happened last year, the shortened break,
the jam packed back to backs and down the stretch.

(48:27):
The Lakers had more back to backs than any any
other team. Uh, and so trying to get Lebron and
a d to play in those because they had missed
so much time. Uh. Inevitably it didn't you know, bold
world for Anthony Davis and his body and his ability
to recover, which was it's already if he and you know,

(48:48):
some guys are just like that when it comes to injury.
Some guys can play their whole career, never get hurt,
never missed a game, and some guys can't seem to
stay healthy no matter how much talent that look at
Bill will greatest sin as ever, his feet couldn't work right,
could get his feet to go. Yeah, I just I

(49:08):
don't want all injuries to be in the same category
right there. I just think you gotta go case by
case of Hey, here's what happened to Kauai, Here's what
happened to Kyrie, Here's what happened to Jamal Murray. I
heard this a lot when Jamal Murray unfortunately towards a
c L against the Warriors. It's it's the jamp back schedule.
No wonder Jamal Murray was out for a week like

(49:31):
he he was resting for an entire week. I don't
think that's automatically fatigue and the grind of a schedule.
I just think that's been lazily miss applied to too much.
It has. But when you see the rest of injuries
that that are just befall in the NBA, you have
to look at the one variable that's different than any

(49:52):
other time. That's why that stands out. You look at
the variable that's different. The variable that's different this year
is the shortened season, the lack of rest, and more
back to backs than any other time in NBA history.
That's where they come up with that, no doubt. But
I think that still gets you away from case by case. Yeah,

(50:18):
I get it, but we went case by case for
every injury, you'd be out here forever. It's are you
just looking at You're just looking at the big injuries.
But I think he's talking about in totality in the league.
The injuries we don't even know about because they don't
make a blip, you know what I mean. It's you know,

(50:38):
having seventy one days between seas. I couldn't even imagine
that would be horrific. Now, granted I played a much
more physical sport, so that would be a serious issue,
but just not You don't even get a chance to so.
With athletes, routine is everything, mhm. When you're at that level,

(51:02):
your routine for the life of of you, playing professional
sports means everything to you. You know, by the way,
while you're hitting on this big man, let me throw
something out of at you. When the pandemic hit, I
remember Lebron at the time, saying, my body is programmed
to start peeking at this time. It's March. I'm getting

(51:25):
ready for April when the playoffs begin, and I'm just
shutting it down right now, you know. So we're always
looking at the seventy one days and the quick jump start.
But do you think, just routine wise, it started to
throw somebodies out of whack. Pandemic hit. Yeah, of course,
and you and you gotta think and a lot of

(51:46):
people can recover in the bubble. They couldn't get it
together because it was foreign to them. And when you're
done with the season, there's certain things that you do now,
although you may do different things every year, the timing
is the same. Okay, seasons over. I'm gonna take three

(52:10):
weeks off. Me and the family are getting away, right.
NBA has the luxury of ending their season in the summer.
Kids are un in school. We're gonna get away, We're
gonna get private jets, we're gonna go banana boat, all
of those things that we've we've we've come to see
and know and love, right, and then I'm going to
come back and just go shoot for two weeks. Right,

(52:33):
So that's five weeks in. I'm just gonna go shoot
for you know, a couple of weeks, nothing too strenuous.
Maybe after that five weeks, weeks six, you know, we'll
start doing a little some drills, some heavy drills. Right
then you go from that to heavy pickup games. Now
you look at it, and that's when you got seventy
one days. You're still on the banana boat when they're

(52:57):
talking about, hey, you, you gotta get in shape camp,
and guys are like, wait what, I don't wait a minute.
My body isn't ready for that. It's not going to
respond to what you're trying to do. And I think
that's why a lot of people are out of shape
coming into the season, and which also lends to two injuries.

(53:19):
So I think that's what you know, these guys are
talking about, because once you break that routine for a
professional athlete. I know myself, that's why I was never
a fan of Thursday night games. Once you break that routine,
it does something to you psychologically, not only physically. Yeah, listen,
I hear you. I get all of that stuff, and
um yeah, it has something to do with the injuries

(53:40):
with all these all stars. I just the maintaining not
everything Kyrie. We could get into this, we could go
movie trailer mode and in a world when they were
seventy one days between the seasons and Kyrie landed on
Janice's foot, that's it, you know, like it doesn't explain it.
But he had been out, He had been out this
season as well. Though he had been hurt this season.

(54:00):
K D has been hurt this season. James Harden had
been hurt this season. You gotta look at all of
those things, right. That injury put him out at a
time where they needed him, but they all had missed
time during the year with other things as well. So
it's just not that one injury. Oh, I hear you.
But if we do this experiment, if next time a

(54:23):
minute in l A, if I jump up and just
land on your foot and my ankle touches the floor,
I could be completely rested, totally healthy, not fatigued at all.
I haven't I haven't ran and I don't know how
many years, you know, like I'm I'm gonna be on
the shelf, I'm gonna be injured. That's the way injuries work. Sometimes,
it's just sports. I think we're trying to shoehorn. It's

(54:45):
the season's fault. It's the season, it's the schedule, and
sometimes it's just sports man, that's all it is. Yeah,
you're right, and you know it happened. It's just when
it happens to so many. You gotta look at the
big picture. And I think that's what the guys are doing.
I'll say real fast. It's interesting what you're talking about
with getting your body to peek at the right time

(55:07):
and the seasons, and think about this with the Olympics
with them being postponed and I can't to the Olympics
when we come back. Yeah, when to get your body
right and to get it to peek at the right time, Yeah,
that's gonna be rough. It's gonna be rough to one
perform at your best and to avoid injury. Ye you're

(55:28):
trying to if it's a car and you are the
RPMs are going man like. If your body isn't ready
for that, that's gonna be uh expect when we come back. Okay.
I like that. Um. By the way, Discover matches all

salam This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm probably no Easy

(56:10):
from Salam here on Fox Sports Radio. Okay, it's the
the hottest growing bit in radio these days. Name that
heavy metal band? Who do you have this time? As
Janic's airball is a free throw? That routine is working
out just splendidly. Good Lord, change it up, man, At
some point you gotta be like, let me do something else.

(56:31):
I'm just gonna go up here and underhanded? Was Bob
kuzi it Rick? Burry it up? Goodness? Okay, you went
lamb of God last time. Who do you have this time?
With what we just heard? Big man? That was Pantera.

(56:51):
I think Ramos is playing the shell game. Yeah, it's
going on over here. Okay, you'll get it worked out.
So you've got some hot takes on the Olympics. I
just love the Olympics. I hate that it got pushed back.
But um, you know some favorite time of the year
summer Olympics. But I love the Olympic trials. What you're
going on right now for the US UH swimming is

(57:14):
on now, and we got another Michael Phelps on our hands, man,
A lot of Katie No, I'm going on for the men.
Caleb Caleb, Caleb Dress he is Caleb and Katie Hunt
just racking song. I'm telling you, I was watching them.
I'm like, yo, this kid is nuts? Is he on

(57:36):
the ten thousand calorie a day? Like Michael Phelps US
eight medals at the World Championships, and like, seriously, like
this kid is something special, man, and he's just blowing
the field away. This is you know, because we were

(57:59):
put on Paul Us. You know, the things that we're
not familiar. We're not as familiar with our Olympic athletes
as we are with our traditional sports totally, and so
you get a chance to really see these track and
field kids, you know, most of them are fresh out
of college, are still in college, and just see him

(58:19):
on this grand scale like yesterday in the shot put finale. Oh,
I'm glad. This is why I was going Go ahead
tell the people, right, Um, what was his name? It's
Ryan Crosser, I think from the US. I'm not sure
how you pronounce his his um you know, his uncle's
his dad. Every everybody was shot putters, and he broke

(58:39):
a thirty year world record US and world record in
the shot put throwing its almost seventy seven feet, which
is it's a sixteen pound ball. He threw it seventies
six feet. That's crazy, shattered it by eight by that's man,

(59:03):
It's like he almost threw it out of the whole
v that is. I go in the yards right because
I'm thinking immediately how far could I throw a sixteen
pound ball? You know, so seventy six? I think football? Right,
So I go yards. Think of being on a football field,
that's about twenty five yards. He threw a sixteen pound

(59:25):
ball twenty five yards, So picture yourself on a football field.
You're at the goal line. How far could you throw it?
Ten yards? How already think you could get it? Now
you tear your shoulder up. I'm watching right now the
eight and the woman's eight hundred uh meter freestyle, and
Katie Ladecki is literally in the pool by herself. She's

(59:50):
seven not even fair right now? Seven lengths of you know,
ahead of everyone else. She's the Simone Biles of swimming.
Crazy what she is doing. Christiano Ronaldo, okay with the
goal for Portugal. Man, you are just in sports heaven.
This is a great time watching eurourou. I love sports man,

(01:00:13):
I am, by the way, I don't love the shooting
performances thus far. Of Chris Middleton, he's two for eleven.
Or Drew Holiday he's two for ten, and yet the
Bucks are right there, only down by five right now.
But as Katie trains the three kad, he's asking for
a foul every single time, and he's right. A lot

(01:00:33):
of the times they are just not calling files. Katie's like, dude,
they are hacking me. Do you not see this? But
Katie drained of three and that's up by eight. But
you gotta get Holiday in Middleton going, especially Middleton, he
was huge in games. Looks like, uh, I mean Brooklyn,

(01:00:54):
so I did figure something that? Nah. Now it's still
the Bucks game. Hashtag fear the deer. There come and back.
They're right there, down by two possessions when two of
their guards or two of their main shooters can't shoot.
Right now, we're watching, uh, Katie a Deckie swim and
they had like a just a close up just on
her swimming. No one else was in the frame. I'm like,

(01:01:18):
they just had the camera like following her, that neils
no other you know, and they swimmed me to splashing.
It's like, literally right now, there's no other person. They're
they're literally going the opposite direction. I have a quick
question based on this. Was there ever, because I'm thinking
of these other swimmers against Katie, and they have to

(01:01:41):
know they're they're cooked. It's not happening in this certain event.
You know, they know what she's capable of putting up
time wise, they know what they're capable of. There are
some swimmers that are like, all right, I'm going for
silver right here. Was there ever a time on the
football field, maybe in just a particular game, maybe in
a particular quarter, where you were like, I have no

(01:02:01):
chance to block this dude at this stage right now.
Never happened? No, No, because it's just not a play.
It's seven seventy plays, So I would have to doubt
myself seventy plays and games. Well, that's what I mean.
If you were laboring your lot, shoulders about to fall
off I have played with two broken hands. I broke

(01:02:25):
two of my fingers on my right hand and and
shattered a knuckle on my left And I started fourteen
games in the season with that um. But at no
point did I feel like I couldn't get my job done.
By the way, I think we need to have the
breaking news SoundBite when Janice makes a free throw, you

(01:02:45):
know he just made when it's like breaking news, Johannice
makes a free throw, he he has to dread go
into the free throw line right now, he does. How
can you have confidence where you get a ten second
violation and you know, I mean get a shot off
sometimes airball the shot in Game seven from the foul line.

(01:03:07):
My goodness, Drew Holiday can't hit shots right now, just
off the side of the backboard. Crazy. Not a great
start for the Bucks. But the right in the thick,
right in the thick of it, someone else who is
always in the thick of it, that is a friend
of America, Mr Steve Di Sager, And he's going to
prove it right now with all sorts of knowledge. You
guys were talking about the Summer Olympics, and the IOC

(01:03:30):
continues to insist that they can hold the summer game safety,
the Japanese government saying the same. Already a month out,
the women's softball team from Australia had arrived, and now
today the Uganda Olympic team has arrived and one member
of that crew has tested positive for coronavirus and was
barred entry into the country of Japan. The other eight

(01:03:53):
members of the Uganda team have now left by chartered
bus for their host town. But those athletes arriving from
a Freaka had all been vaccinated with the astra zeneca
and had all tested negative with PCR tests before boarding.
So obviously the critics, and there are many in Japan,
say hey, wait abute, this is just like ten people arriving.
What about ten thousand people arriving, So it looks like

(01:04:16):
the games are ago. But you know, this is giving
fuel for some of the opposition in Japan, modern developed
country that yet has about a six percent vaccination rate
with its population somehow at this point. So something to
look forward to as we head toward the Summer Olympics.
And by the way, on the US basketball roster so far,

(01:04:36):
Damian Lillard, Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green, reportedly Bradley Beal and
Devin Booker. Although Phoenix will be hosting the West Conference
Finals opener tomorrow afternoon. Now, the NBA Finals won't begin
until about July six. The NBA lotteries Tuesday. The East
Finals won't start until Wednesday. We've still got, unlike normal summers,

(01:04:58):
a lot of hoops yet to go. The Americans opening
basketball game in Tokyo is July. Just for the record,
The US Open Golf tournament will finish tomorrow in San Diego,
and through three rounds, American Russell Handley is in a
three way tie for the lead, two strokes up on
Rory McElroy and Bryson Dashambo. John Rahm is three back.
Phil Mickelson is seven overpar after a seventy six today.

(01:05:20):
Right now, in the NBA playoff game at Brooklyn, the
Nets lead with a minute to go in the first
half fifty three forty three over the Milwaukee Bucks. Chris
Middleton two of eleven shooting from the floor, Drew Holiday
two of eleven four Milwaukee Jannie at tennant Cumpo at
ten points in the first ten minutes. He has scored
one point since then, So the Bucks overall are shooting

(01:05:41):
thirty six percent from the floor. They're down double digits
on the road in Game seven of this second round
series late first half. Philadelphia hosts a Game seven tomorrow
night against Atlanta. As the West Finals start tomorrow. Chris
paul Sons guard is still in the league's health protocols,
and l a's Kawhi Leonard, with his brain knee, will
not travel to the series opener, according to Yahoo. In

(01:06:02):
the NHL Semifinal tonight, it's the Islanders one nothing leaders
mid second period against the Lightning. To Major League Baseball,
the Yankees beat Oakland seven to five. The a seven
game winning streak ended. Boston got a seven one win
at Kansas City. The Reds have tied it up on
Fox TV at San Diego five five, and the Brewers
are tied to two at Colorado. Bottom of the first.

(01:06:23):
The late game will have the Dodgers and six and
old Walker Bueller at Arizona. Arizona has lost fifteen games
in a row. First pitch, about a half hour away St.
Louis in Atlanta, was rained out. They'll try to play
a double head or tomorrow and sad news for those
of us who watch Hawaii football on late Saturday nights,
their announcer has passed away. Robert Kekaula, who had been

(01:06:46):
for years play by play announcer for Hawaii football TV
and radio, died this morning. University of Hawaii Athletics released
a statement saying, in over twenty five years covering our
football program, he witnessed our biggest wins and most painful losses.
Was a friend to many of us. We have truly
lost one of our own. Rest in aloha, Robert. End

(01:07:08):
quote Back to you, man, sad story right there. Um
on a lighter note, when you said for those of
us who watch Hawaii football late, I just randomly thought
about those of us who watch and gamble on Hawaii
football late where it was money that day right when
it's when it back his bright Aloha shirts starting the broadcast.

(01:07:31):
You think we still have another college football game tonight?
This is great, man. I'll tell you what, uh Ronaldo,
There's so much going on. I'm in like heaven right now,
all these games and he just did a no look
pass of the calf kick off in the air like

(01:07:55):
it's just miracule. When you watched the top of the
the top of the top, you know college I mean
soccer players play. It's it's like watching the crossover dribble,
watching the best, but it's like watching magic. When he
did that, the announcer said, it's like the Magician with

(01:08:17):
his wand like literally, it's this is man. I don't
know if if people are soccer fans or not, but
just watching at this level. I love this level of
soccer when it comes to euro Cups and World Cups
and the Olympics because it's it's miraculous to see these guys. Man. Yeah,
it's like Neymar the last game in the Copa America

(01:08:39):
that Fox has FS. One's gonna have Brazil's next game
Wednesday night. But this is these are some of the
greatest in history, with Messi and Ronaldo in the current era.
I'm curious with you waxing poetic about Ronaldo over here,
big man. If we put the major sports football, basketball, baseball,
put them to the side, all of these other sports.

(01:09:01):
I want the from salam top three power rankings, right,
what are the non mainstream sports that you get down with? Uh?
Non mainstream sports, non mainstream take a football on me. No, no, no,

(01:09:22):
I I love soccer, I love take back and track
and field. No I know I get it. Track and field.
Are we talking Olympic sports? Huh, I think that's a yes,
all right, Well yeah it's fine. Well if if it were,

(01:09:43):
if we're taking out basketball, we're taking out football, we're
taking out baseball. Then love track and field, love soccer
at a high level. Um, just starting to really get
into MLS. But I love when, uh, you know, the
country's uh a symbol their teams, you know, for me,

(01:10:04):
you know, watching because in these premier leagues, guys are
spread all out, right, you know, you got guys playing
on on different clubs, just like you have in right,
just like you have an NBA. But when you get
to the Olympics, everybody's playing for their country, right, So
when you have the euro Cups and and things like that,
and everybody's playing for their country, and then you get

(01:10:25):
to the Olympics and then um you get to the
World Cup. I love that because you get the best
of the best. They all come from all different teams
around get to this one unit and it's like a supergroup.
It's like a dream team for all all of these uh,
all of these sports, and so soccer stands out, especially
when they get to elimination round where you gotta go

(01:10:45):
into penalty kicks. I know you don't like penalty kicks, Brian,
but wait, wait, hold on you I don't like penalty kicks.
You don't live for penalty kicks, do you. I know
you don't. I don't hate them, though I'm not totally
against them. A boxing um, love love boxing. The rules
and boxing for Olympics are had a little off putting,

(01:11:06):
but I do like boxing. There's not much of a
a spectacle behind boxing like it was when I was
growing up. You know, heavyweights ruled the world. But even
when you were talking about uh middleweights, when you know,
you know Duran and Herns and Taddler and you know
Sugar right, Like, now what do you got? You know

(01:11:32):
you got YouTube guys, right, Like I know, boxing is
just like why why us right? Go do it somewhere.
And the funny thing is these guys are making a killing.
They're making so much money outside of a real boxing match,
you know, and making so much more money with the

(01:11:53):
spectacle of it. So now boxing, Yeah, I think that
stands out because think about this where uhu, We've talked
about t bow right, and the conversation becomes he's taking
someone's position away who might actually make the team and
maybe make a difference. There's been other stories like that
where it was j Cole in the Basketball Africa League

(01:12:18):
and there was the same conversation. Right, just if you
take that and apply it to what you're mentioning with boxing, right,
I wonder if there are some fighters they're like, I'm
a legit fighter, I'm a professional fighter, and it just
sucks that this YouTube guy, he's getting all the limelight.
Their pay per view buys are through the roof, and

(01:12:39):
I'm trying to make a living at this. Hey maybe
you look at it and say, hey, God bless him.
If they can make it and make that money, I
can't be envious, but it is It's a slap in
the face totally. It's a slap slap in the face.
And these guys are are you know, are are floundering

(01:13:01):
out there like it's almost gotta be a gimmick behind
the fight now, right, I think he dustin Floyd Mayweather
off out of this mink line closet and throwing him
in the ring for no good reason. He caught Logan Paul.
You know, if you saw this on social media at
the end of a round. He caught him and he

(01:13:22):
picked him back up and he just held him. Logan
was going down. He's like, hold on, their big fellow,
hold on, We're almost there. You know, all right, you
got your bearings. Okay, just get to the stool. You
didn't want to knock him down. It's hey, God bless
Floyd for just laughing all the way to the bank.
He's gonna continue to do it because why wouldn't you? Yeah,

(01:13:43):
I know, literally, why wouldn't you? I would do it. Hey,
we're gonna They were saying he made like a hundred
million dollars or something like that. I don't know if
the numbers are accurate, but what it is, it's amazing. Hey,
there's this dude. He's a YouTuber. It's got a crazy following. Yeah,
he's he's picked up boxing over the last I don't know,

(01:14:03):
maybe two years. Maybe you can make twenty five mil.
What do you think? Yeah? Sounds great? Yeah. Yeah. Now
his brother's gonna get himself hurt in August. Uh, because
he's fighting Tyron Woodley. Oh man, now he's no, he's
gonna get hurt. Now that you can't just play with
people unless they have an agreement to where he doesn't

(01:14:24):
knock him out, like right, right, Jake's the better of
the fighters, but he's not an m M A level
fighter like boxing. Woodley was UFC champion for a reason,
like he he inflicted pain. Yes, I know it right, Yeah,
So that's when you start talking trash to the wrong people,

(01:14:47):
then you get what you get. This is not Nate Robinson.
Yeah all right, coming up next. You might be entertained
by this story, but the league is not. Will explain.
I'm Brian Noo. He's he from salam This is Fox
Sports Radio, Brian no Easy from Salam here on Fox
Sports Radio. What do you think of Mr Six dribbles

(01:15:10):
for Janice's new nickname, his routine at the foul line.
You think that's gonna catch on it all? It shouldn't
because he should change it immediately. Oh, this is not
a thing because the routine is not working. He was
practicing his free throws at halftime. He takes six dribbles
even then, that's his whole thing, right now, crazy, it's terrible.

(01:15:33):
I gotta throw a story at you here, big man.
I'm curious where you come out on this. So the
Western Conference Finals they begin tomorrow Clippers taken on the Suns.
There might be a fan who was rewarded for beating
up another fan at the game. So the story is

(01:15:53):
this goes back to the Sun's Denverse series. There's a
fight that breaks out in the stands. Are saw that crazy, right?
So the guy in the Son's jersey, he gets a
beer poured on him and there's a sucker punch and
Sons fans says, oh, you want to play like that,
and then just whales on the other dude and then

(01:16:16):
it goes absolutely At the end, he got Sons in
four and he's got an action figure. This went viral.
It's this whole thing. So Devin Booker earlier this week
he puts on Twitter He's like, need man's info, and
we're like, okay, he's obviously gonna hook him up. So

(01:16:37):
Booker's agency c a A. They ran this guy down
and Devin Booker hooked him up. Sons and four guy
with a Devin Booker autographed jersey and tickets to the
Western Conference Finals. I don't know the particulars. If it's
just one game, if there's travel, I have no idea,
but this fan might be at the game tomorrow. I

(01:17:01):
look at it like this, big man. Sure it's entertaining. Sure,
I watched the video and one, oh, and rewinded it
and then watch it again, and oh, it might be
entertaining to you and me and fans out there. The
NBA cannot be happy about it. One of their star
players is rewarding violence. You're kidding me, rewarding the thrashing.

(01:17:25):
He beat the brakes off of him too. Totally the
pushback I've gotten on this big man, it's all. It's good.
It's good for we love fighting, dude. The NBA doesn't
want to be known for. Do you think the NBA
would come out with the promo even on Twitter where

(01:17:46):
it's like the NBA. If the other guy starts it,
finish beat him senseless, right yeah, right, come on, will
finish it. Can you imagine if this guy is on
camera tomorrow, what if these are like courtside seats. It's
just sending a message. This could be you if there's

(01:18:07):
a fight that breaks out, Beat him up and then
you might get upgraded by player. It's not good at all.
You never know, yeah, you never never know. Yeah, not
good whatsoever? How about this who's in a worse position
Game one tomorrow. Clippers at the Sun's no Kawhi Leonard

(01:18:29):
for the first couple of games. He's ruled out for
games one and two. Sham's Sharonya is reporting that Chris
Paul we'll be out for game one in health and
safety protocols. Who's in a worst spot? Is it Phoenix
who's probably watching last night thinking, oh, this game's this
series is going seven and then this dramatic Clippers come

(01:18:52):
back and they're like, oh shoot, we're playing on Sunday,
and oh gosh, it turns out Chris Paul isn't playing
on Sunday. So is it nixt or is it the Lakers?
I'm sorry the Clippers who in forty eight hours they're
playing game one of the Western Conference Finals without Kawhi Leonard.
Phoenix is in a tougher spot. Why do you say

(01:19:14):
the Suns because they don't have um that type of
success without Chris Paul out there. And we just we
just literally watched um the Clippers beat a beyond formidable
team without Kauai. Yeah, so you know, I'm not saying

(01:19:42):
that they're going to get that same thing from Man again,
but you know they've done it so they know they
can do it. I'm not quite sure about the you
know about the Suns. I think you got it nailed there.
How about this too, where the Clippers? If is it better?

(01:20:03):
And I don't know that they know exactly the status
of Kauai's injury and they're just not letting it be known.
But what makes more sense to you? Let's say they
know a little bit more about the severity of Kauai's
injury than they're letting it be known. Is it better
to just, hey, Kauai is gonna be out for Games

(01:20:24):
one and two and you're kind of planning the seed
of but maybe you'll be back after that, or is
it better to just come out if they knew this
and say he's out for the remainder of the playoffs,
it's better for them to keep it close to the vest.
Just string it along. I agree, string it along. I'm
sure they I'm sure they're getting second and third and
fourth opinions, so you know, just string it along so

(01:20:49):
you can anymore. It's probably an unfair question. Do we
see Kawai Leonard against the Suns in this series? I
don't think we see him again? Yeah, yeah, you might
be right this year. All right, coming up next, this
is just plain stupid. I have no other words, but
that will tell you the story. Next, man, we got

(01:21:11):
some action over here. This box nets game is heating up. Yeah,
Jana's bank in a three, followed up by a B. J.
Tucker three. Joe Harris, he's off the milk carton. He
just made a three for the Nets so he got
some milk card. No, no, you need more than that.
How many threes for Joe Harris to be officially off

(01:21:32):
the milk carton? You gotta go on a run today.
We need something out of you, buddy. Let's see Joe
Harris two for five right now from distance? Not enough,
not enough, not enough, We need more. Sixty sixty three
nearly midway through the third quarter. It's a fun game
so far right, it's entertaining. I like it. Do you

(01:21:55):
feel like you're leaning one way more so than the other?
Just where we are in this game, it's still a coin.
I feel strongly hashtag fear the Deer. I think they're
gonna pull this one out. I think they have more.
I think that when you are in the thick of
it with Middleton in Holiday Shooting, so poorly. Somebody look

(01:22:18):
at that say they just don't have it tonight. I
actually think that's a good sign because they're good enough
where they're gonna hit a couple of shots in a row.
Those guys are too good to end up just like
two for seventeen or you know what I mean. So
I still like the Bucks in this one. We'll see
how it goes. All right, let me throw this at
you big men. Cole Beasley, Bill's wide receiver. So he

(01:22:42):
is against getting vaccinated, just himself personally. And to me,
it's not just what your stance is about any issue,
it's how do you back your stance up. And so
Cole Beasley has come out and he says he's going
to live my one life like I want to regardless.

(01:23:06):
And to me, this is where I look at it
and say that just can't happen if you're an NFL player.
The NFL has come out and they say unvaccinated players,
you gotta test every day. I gotta get a COVID
test every day. You gotta wear a mask throughout the
team facility and during travel, don't have access to the
sauna or the steam rooms. You can't leave your hotel,

(01:23:28):
the eat in a restaurant. You're gonna be quarantined if
you're if, if you're exposed to COVID, all these things.
So that to me, his argument isn't Hey, I just
I don't know if we are aware of the long
term effects, if we know everything there is to know
about the vaccine, and that's the reason for your hesitancy.

(01:23:49):
I can understand that. That's not his argument. He's saying,
I'm just gonna live the way I've always lived before,
not as an NFL player. No, you can't do that,
but you can you can't live that way, rich higher
and live however you want. You can do whatever you want,

(01:24:11):
but you can't show up to an NFL facility and
that be and expect things to be different. If you're
not fully vaccinated, it's not gonna happen. So yeah, man,
if that's if, if it looks if that's you, more
power to you. Go out there, live your life, brother,
do your thing. Just not here. Yeah, thats gonna happen.

(01:24:34):
Looks like fifty dollars per of fence. That's what violators
could face. You can show up and this is what
Cole Beasley has put out there, he's like, if they
take all my money away, fine, if I have to retire,
so be it. So be both. I'm gonna live my

(01:24:55):
life the way I always have. Like do you see
how those two things conflict with the each other. Then
just go retire, right, Like, if he's talking about if
they're gonna take all my money and if I have
to retire, then what is the argument? Just retire. They're
not changing the rules. So if you're if you're just
be okay with it and retire. It's it's cool. Yeah,

(01:25:17):
this idea of like what what if he has to quarantine?
Is he just gonna say I don't want to go
jump in a river. I'm not doing it? Like it
just no, you can't make the rules on the fly
that fit your needs when you work for someone else, right,

(01:25:39):
Like not when if you have your own business and
the requirements of your business are you know, you're like whatever,
then okay, that's fine. But the NFL is a corporation,
right you They get to make the rules for anything.

(01:26:00):
Could any the fashion police, They're like, you're fine, ten
thousand dollars, right, your socks aren't high enough. That's a thing,
by the way, it is totally, So you don't. We
don't get to make the rules in the NFL. I
mean we get paid to play and follow the rules today.
And if you don't agree with there's a lot of
rules people don't agree with in the NFL. Right weekly

(01:26:22):
weigh ends, A lot of people don't agree with that.
How much you can be fine for being one minute
late for a meeting, A lot of people don't agree
with that, which is fourteen plus fourteen grand plus one minute.
You know, teams rarely do that unless they have, you know,
repeat offenders, but it's that's up to there. Just they
can find you a maximum of fourteen plus grand. Uh,

(01:26:46):
guys don't agree with those rules. But what are you
gonna do? Right, it's coming off the year, but right
coming off the year that they just had with COVID
and all that day not they're not playing them games. No,
they're not trying to do that, and they can careless.
This was a great I have to share this with
you because I think you're gonna I think your reaction

(01:27:09):
would be like mine. So one of the other things
cold Beasley put out there, he wrote, I'm not going
to take meds for a leg that isn't broken. I'd
rather take my chances with COVID and build up my
immunity that way. What what you put out there? And
so there was a response. This just caught my eye

(01:27:30):
Brady Klopp for works for sp Nation. This was Brady's response.
He writes, Hey, Cole, quick question. Do you wear a
seat belt or would you rather not address a car
crash that hasn't happened? Do you stretch or would you
rather not work on a hamstring that isn't torn. Do

(01:27:51):
you drink water or would you rather not deal with
dehydration until dehydrated? You understand where he's going. And that's
the whole point. It's just such a bad argument on
Cole Beasley's behalf. It's just so it's crazy, man. Guys
get caught up in and this this freedom's right. You're

(01:28:18):
taking away our freedoms. The NFL is not taking away
your freedom, called Beasley, you are free to go do
whatever you want to do. M you can't do it here.
Bottom line, he can go play in the t s
a right. The Spring Football League have had it. The

(01:28:39):
funny thing is they have COVID restrictions that about all
these leagues are gonna have that because it makes business sense.
If their restrictions for the fans, why wouldn't they be
restrictions for you exactly, And I think for the bills,
I believe everybody that goes into the stadium has to
be vaccinated. I believe they mentioned that. So look, hey,

(01:29:00):
I don't know, it's it's just been so politicized. What
people really forget what last year was like. Last year
was a terrible time mentally, physically, emotionally for the world,
not just you, the world and not repeating that again

(01:29:26):
is of the utmost priority for the world, not just you.
And if there's any way to not repeat that, they're
going to try and do it. And this is the
best course that they see fit right now. Absolutely. Now

(01:29:48):
that may change in a year or so, but as
of right now, this has to happen this way. Now.
You can opt out. Guys can still opt out cold,
we can opt out. He can ride it out, sit
out a year, see where it see where it lands.
And that's the other part here, is it's gonna be

(01:30:10):
a thing while he remains unvaccinated. You can't just be like,
I'm gonna live my life the way I always have
it's impossible to do for all the reasons that we
laid out. You're in violation. You're gonna get fined. And
even if you're still are comfortable like I don't care,
take all my money, it's fine. I'm just not doing it.
It's a distraction. It's something that's talked about. Your teammates

(01:30:32):
are asked about you not being vaccinated. It's impossible to
just live life as if there hasn't been a pandemic whatsoever.
It's just it doesn't work like that. And the last
bad argument that cold Beasley made, he was like, hey,
just avoid me in public. Then there's no sign on

(01:30:52):
people's foreheads like oh vaccinated, Oh not vaccinated, Let me
walk on the other side of the street. It doesn't
work like that at all. What are you talking about?
And people are going to go crazy, Oh, you can't
do He has the right. We're not saying he doesn't
have the right to think or act like that. No

(01:31:15):
one says that the you know who else has rights,
the NFL. That's the whole point. So many people are
talking about the rights and freedoms. The NFL has rights
and freedoms to dictate what they want their employees to

(01:31:35):
bye bye. Right, So that argument that people have works
against them, Yes, because it's about freedoms and it's about right.
The NFL has the right and the freedom to dictate
what they want from their employees. You have the right
and the and and the freedom to choose if you're

(01:31:58):
willing to do that or not. That's where aliens exactly,
and that's you don't have the right to say, I'm
gonna make my own rules, and that's that. It's not no, man,
it doesn't work like that. I think we're on the
same page. If you just make a better argument, all good.
That's not what he's doing at all. This argument is hideous.
It's I'm Brian no Easy from salam here on Fox

(01:32:20):
Sports Radio. Now, in a much lighter note, how about
fantasy football bet payoffs here? I always love these stories,
so this caught my eye. Lee Sanderlin. He wrote this.
He documented everything with his fantasy football bet payoff. He
wrote on Twitter, I am coming to you live from

(01:32:40):
a Brandon, Mississippi waffle house. I a total loser, came
in last place in my fantasy football league. As punishment,
I spend twenty four hours in a waffle house every
waffle I eat shaves an hour off the clock, and
so he's document in everything we progress to this. Big

(01:33:02):
man Lee writes, the sun is rising, it's a new day,
and I'm never eating waffles again. That's nine waffles and
fifteen hours in this restaurant. This was horrible and I
recommend no one ever do this. He also tweeted out

(01:33:23):
his roster. He had Carson Wentz at quarterback. Good luck
with that. That'll get you in waffle. That'll do it.
That'll absolutely do it all right. Coming up next the
NBA potentially cracking down and maybe a team on the move.

(01:33:46):
Interesting story here as well. I'm Brian No. He'sy from
Salam This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian No. He's
he from Salam. Here on Fox Sports Radio. For hot

from that Metallica man? Come on get day at this?
Did Ramos hook you up? Was he like? Hey me up?
Everybody know Metallica. Yeah, I saw all we talked about
on this show with Metallica. That's ah. We got action.

(01:34:35):
One point game heading into the fourth quarter box on
top one. This is good. Have you seen Drew Holiday
stat line? I'll rattle it off for you. Four points
on sixteen shots. Drew Holiday is two for sixteen and
from three point range he's oh and over five mm.

(01:34:58):
That that's and you still have a one point lead.
What do you think, Eric bled so So? What's going
through Eric Bledsoe's mind as he assuming he's watching this
game right the old Bucks point guard and there's a
lot of conversation. Oh, they finally have Drew Holiday and
he can shoot. He's so much more reliable. And if

(01:35:19):
I'm Eric bled so I'm watching this game like, huh,
seems to me like Holidays missing almost every shot he's taking.
Would you be watching it like that? Yeah? But Eric
bless at home so yeah, and there's the difference. Yeah,
there's absolutely the difference. All right, this should be fun
one point game heading into the fourth. I want to

(01:35:41):
get your reaction to this. Also, we're watching Hardened tonight
and he's obviously hobbled. He's three for thirt from the field,
one for nine from three point range. He's really just
reduced to being a three point shooter more or less.
But hey, on one leg seventeen point seven assists. He's
doing what he can. But I bring up Harden because

(01:36:03):
earlier this week, who had tweeted out that the NBA's
Competition commit Committee met and they're exploring rule changes the
possibility to restrict unnatural motions on jump shots that players
used to draw fouls, and in woes tweet, he goes

(01:36:24):
NBA wants the limit players including Trey Young, James Harden
from leaning backwards and sideways to draw fouls. I'm for it.
I just think that's gonna be hard to hard to police.
What do you think about that? Yeah, because so many
people could that they conform and they do their shots
like that now right, like it's it's no longer a

(01:36:47):
natural shooting motion. What does that even look like anymore? Yeah? Right,
it's been such a change. It's so hard to get
that right on the fly. Where let's take Harden, he
might get bumped a little bit and he's just going
to embellish the contact. I don't know how you make
those calls accurately in lifetime consistently as an official, and

(01:37:12):
I like the concept. I just don't know how it's
applied the right way, you know. Yeah, I know exactly
what you're talking about. Yeah. I saw a quote here.
I just have to share it with you. I thought
this was gold. So the Chicago Bears, they um, they
have a lease when it comes to Soldier Field. It

(01:37:33):
runs through the next decade. But they submitted a bill,
a bid to purchase Arlington International Race Course. Okay, And
so I gotta give you the quote from the mayor.
This is Lori Lightfoot, and she comes out. I think

(01:37:53):
her quote is just top shelf. She says the Bears
are locked into a lease that Soldier Field until. In addition,
this announcement from the Bears comes in the midst of
negotiations for improvements at Soldier Field. This is clearly a
negotiating tactic that the Bears have used before. As a
season ticket holder and longtime Bears fan, I am committed

(01:38:15):
committed to keeping the Chicago name in our football team,
and like most Bears fans, we want the organization to
focus on putting a winning team on the beating the
Packers finally and being relevant past October. Everything else is noise. Wow,
straight from the mayor's mode, and that is right, Yes, absolutely,

(01:38:48):
I kind of love that. The first guy I thought
of was Lee Robert Lapped the fourth are trusted producer?
Where that part of beating the Packers finally and being
relevant fast October? Wow. Obviously the Bears they could buy
out of their lease if they're really looking at Arlington
Heights and going out to the suburbs and all of

(01:39:08):
that stuff. But the mayor is saying, this is just
a negotiating tactic. You're trying to get Soldier Field spruced up,
and you're using Arlington Heights to do this. I don't know.
Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. How did the Arlington
Heights Bears? How does that come across to you there? Nah?
I don't know. I'm gonna go thumbs down on that personally. Now,

(01:39:33):
I know you, big man. You love a good story,
right like these athletes. Uh, Terrence Man, it's a great
story with him. He went off for thirty nine points
last night. Great performance for the Clippers. And there was
a video that was trending earlier today. This is Terrence
Man explaining a story about being invited to the Draft combine.

(01:39:58):
I think you'll enjoy this. Check this out. So the
G League camp had just ended, um and they came
up with the list and I wasn't on it. And
I was on my way to the airport about an
hour and had drivers stuck in traffic. My phone's on
one percent, so I'm telling everybody you know, i'll text
you when I land in Atlanta, because that's what I'm
doing pre draft. Um, so you know I'll text you

(01:40:19):
when I land. So I'm getting through. My phone's on
one percent. I got my my ticket, I'm out to
hand my bag over, and some random numbers calling my
phone and I was like, I might not answer it.
Random number. You know, I don't want to answer random numbers.
So I ended up answering it and ended up being
an NBA and they're like, where are you? We need
you here? You got invited to the combine And I

(01:40:40):
was like, oh, well, I'm at the airport about to
get on my flight. So I had to turn around, Uh,
take an hour and a half, you know, drive back
to the hotel. Um. As soon as I end on
the call, my phone dive. So um, it was just god,
you know, saving my battery for me for that call. Man,
there you go. That's dope. Barely got sent. I went

(01:41:05):
to the combine, ends up a Clipper and balled out
yesterday like that. Yeah, phone was hanging on for dear life.
Barely made it. That's one of the more unforeseen performances. Seriously,
I don't want to be knee jerk reaction prisoner of
the moment guy to drop thirty nine when the Clippers

(01:41:28):
were just getting worked in the second quarter. Think about this.
Jordan Clarkson by himself outscored the Clippers twenty one to
nineteen in the second quarter. And Terence Man a performance
for the Ages in what a second year out of nowhere. Man,
that ranks up there with one of the more unforeseen
performances in NBA playoff history. Yeah. Man, if he can

(01:41:50):
finish this thing out, I'm telling you made himself a
bunch of money. Yeah. Alright, So we are deadlocked at
eighty six. It's Joe Harris rattles one. Is he off
the milk carton yet quite yet? Not quite still on
the milk carton, still looking for Joe Harris, but as
a big shot, all right, we've got I don't know

(01:42:13):
I'm two for two, throwing it to uh, the certain
upstanding individual. I feel like I need to pass the
baton to you on this one. Big man, number one
in our hearts, number one in our programs, A person
who doesn't need the Olympic Trials to go to the Olympics.

(01:42:33):
A person who's already won Olympic gold. In our hearts
one stephen a A for athletes. Go ahead, Joe Harris
just missed a three point try. Is that even news
at this point? What was news is right before that,
Chris Middleton had a hoop. So he's six now for
the Bucks Tonight and the Nets lead at home in

(01:42:56):
Game seven of this second round NBA playoff series. The
leaders only eight over Milwaukee under nine minutes to go.
Jani's attendant compo with thirty three points. You mentioned the
Drew Holiday shooting. It's two for sixteen. He has six assists,
one turnover. For what it's worth, however, it's a one
point game with under nine minutes to go. You're the

(01:43:16):
road team with a chance to eliminate a great Brooklyn club. Yes,
Kyrine's out again with the sprain ankle, but Kevin Durant
has thirty three points and counting James Harden from three
point range is one of nine. He does have seven
assists to turnovers nineteen points for Harden. It's a game
eight and a half minutes to go eighty nine eight.

(01:43:37):
That's by one. There is a game seven in the
East tomorrow night, Philadelphia hosting Atlanta. The West Finals start
at Phoenix Sons hosting the Clippers Sunday afternoon, and Son's
guard Chris Paul is still in the league's health protocols.
Yeah who says Kawhi Leonard of l A, with his
sprain knee, will not travel to the series opener. US
Open Golf tournament will have its final round in San

(01:43:58):
Diego tomorrow, and American Russell Henley is in a three
way tie for the lead, two strokes up on Rory
McElroy and Bryson Dushambo, john Rams three back, Dustin Johnson
four back, and an even par five strokes behind their
brooks Kepka and Justin Thomas. In the NHL Semifinals, it
was a three nothing Islanders lead, now three two over
Tampa Bay was still eleven minutes to go. For the moment,

(01:44:20):
the Lightning leading the series two games to one. The
Canadiens lead the other semifinal two games to one over Vegas.
They played tomorrow night, and Montreal's head coach is still out.
Dominique touch Arm tested positive for COVID irony. Because Montreal
is the only Canadian team left and the only reason
there's a game in Montreal tomorrow'ss, Canada proved a border
exemption for playoff travel and now their own coach can't

(01:44:42):
travel to the game. In Major League Baseball, Philadelphia one
at San Francisco ending the Giants five game winning street
thirteen to six. Reese Hoskins two homers, six r b
I s Toronto with six runs in the top of
the ninth. One at Baltimore, ten to seven, Vladimir Guerrero
Junior with his twenty third home run. He leads the
Majors Guerrella Junior m VP candidate this year, batting three

(01:45:02):
thirty seven. Meanwhile, the National League's home run leader, shortstop
Fernando Tat Jr. The Padres, left tonight's game, re injuring
his shoulder after diving for a ground ball. He had
heard the same shoulder in March and in April also.
He has twenty two home runs to lead the league.
In fifty five games, he has fifty r b I s.
The Padres have just homer to retake the lead over

(01:45:24):
the Red seven to five, bottom of the eighth, Brewers
tied three three three at the Rockies in the top
of the fourth, and Houston just beat the White Sox
and Lance Lynn seven to three. You were mentioning football
stadiums earlier. There was the w r C report this
week that the Buffalo Bills are planning a new outdoor stadium,
maybe in the next five years or so, still needing

(01:45:44):
government approvals in the process and the funding, but the
place they've played since nineteen seventy three. The Bill's current
lease expires in twenty three. Pro Football Talk says the
team could extend the lease with the county and New York,
but they are prepared to quote and see there other
options for home games. And did you notice the L A.
Rams Stadium was in the news this week? They do

(01:46:08):
have the Los Angeles Bowl debuting last December. Like a
lot of Bowl games, it just wasn't played last year,
but they have a title sponsor officially, no joke, it's
the Jimmy Kimmel L A. Bowl on a multi year contract.
You could guess what network is airing the bowl game
the week before Christmas. There is a tie in there,

(01:46:28):
but it's going to be a Pack twelve team every
year against the Mountain West Conference champion. There's a chance
that the San Diego State Aztecs see from could be
in the Jimmy Kimmel l A Bowl one of these years,
maybe this December. How about this to Stephenie from where
it's the Mountain West champion against the Pack twelves number

(01:46:53):
five bowl selection. So maybe like Colorado or that's right,
you champion of the Mountain West goes against the fifth
place because we run rough shot over the Packed twelve
and basketball and football just f y I man, oh my,
that's embarrassing. Yes, the Jimmy Kimmel l A Bowl champ

(01:47:17):
versus our fifth place team. By the way, the best
Mountain West team was San Jose State last year. They
were undefeated. There there it is. I'm Brian no Easy
from salam here on Fox Sports Radio. I want to
bring this back. We touched on it for a second.
Who do you love the teams that are left in
the NBA playoffs? Just think of George thorough goood. You

(01:47:40):
know the who do you love? Right? Think about that?
Who's the team do you love? Any of these teams remaining?
Because they all have their a warts? Uh, you know,
And we talked about a majority of the teams. We
didn't talk about Atlanta and we didn't talk about Philly.
And when I look at Philly, I just been been

(01:48:00):
Simmons inadequacies. Just I mean, you can't do it, Yeah,
I mean I wouldn't, you know, if if we had
to put something on it, I couldn't. I couldn't do it,
you know, because he's just so inconsistent. And so you thought.
You talked about Atlanta, you talked about Trey young and

(01:48:23):
they're young and they're hungry, but young teams don't farewell
in championship games. They just don't know. Yeah, they've they've
got a real team. But I don't think anyone sees
the Hawks winning at all, you know, because if Trey
is not Trey, which can happen, right, If he's off,

(01:48:46):
the thirty five footers aren't falling, then what do they
what do they do? Where do they go? So? Yeah, right,
and Bogdanovitch a little bit banged up. That's not good. So, yeah,
all these teams, we could go one by one, Chris
Paul being out health and safety protocols. They haven't ben
in the playoffs since, right, so to ramp up and

(01:49:10):
win a championship. Hey, maybe they've got a shot. They're
one of the teams in the mix. I don't know
that you run to Vegas and bet all your money
on the Sun's though, right, No, Kauai Leonard is he
gonna be back at all? I don't think you run
and bet on any of these teams. So the question
is who do you love the most? Is it one
of these teams in the game that's going on right now,

(01:49:31):
knowing that one of them is gonna get bounced tonight?
I would say it would have to be one of
these two teams. Um, you know, of it would be
easy if Brooklyn was healthy. We don't know when they'll
get healthy. Yeah, Um, James Harden may never be right
because you know, the more he plays, the more stress

(01:49:52):
he puts on that hamstring. Hamstrings don't heal as you're
playing on him. Doesn't work like that. Uh So, Um,
you know, Milwaukee is the only team that is healthy
and whole right now. But they're they're they're forgetting to
really show up in and and you know, take a

(01:50:17):
lead in this is separate themselves from from a hobble
Brooklyn team. So what what what are we doing it?
It's hard to trust the Bucks. You can't trust them.
That doesn't mean they're incapable, true. I mean we couldn't
trust the Clippers until we could. I still can't trust them,
but you know, they've done something they haven't done in

(01:50:38):
franchise history, and so you know things are looking up
for them. But the health of of Kauai is still
a major major issue and factor, and they're just not
giving us any information about what's wrong with them, which
is the scary part. Holiday misses again, This Drew holiday

(01:51:02):
has just been wretched. Tonight the man is two for
seventeen from the field, coming down the stretch man. We're
watching the Milwaukee do what Milwaukee has done for the
last two years. Well, I still go back to I
think that the easy answer. If they win tonight, and
that's a big if it's Brooklyn, I would love Brooklyn

(01:51:22):
the most. Banking on Kyrie coming back at some point
here relatively soon. That was an ugly ankle injury but
I would expect him back in the conference finals. If
they're able to get through tonight's game, I just don't
think they will. And that's where I'm torn. If the
winner of tonight's game is the Nets, I love their

(01:51:43):
chances the most to win a championship. If the winner
tonight is the Bucks, and I think it will be
I don't love their chances as much because they've let
us down time and time again. I can't trust them,
So by default, I think the Bucks win tonight, and
I will begrudge only say I love their chances the
most to win it all. And this is I mean,

(01:52:06):
I'm setting a bear trap for myself. Now that I
think about this, How much of an idiot are you
gonna sound like? Oh? Yeah, I love their team their
chances to win a championship the most, and they might
get bounced tonight. But that's what we do here, big man.
We set bear traps. Sometimes we walk into him. We're
not afraid. If that happens, there we go. You're honest.
Seventeen second free throw? Oh man, Mr Six dribbles? Who

(01:52:29):
do you like the least that's still alive in the playoffs?
Who's at the top of that list. Um m hm.
He just air ball the air ball with six minutes
left in the game, a game seven, change the route.
How can you depend on him? How can you you

(01:52:52):
know how hard it is to air to air as
a grown man built like that, to air ball and
free throw. And he's just doubled over right. You can
tell you can just feel the stress on his shoulders
as Oh gosh, just shoot the ball, man, just go
up there to drible shoot the ball. Boom, We've done.
It's gone. He just air ball in a three point game,

(01:53:15):
was six minutes to go. I would rather him shoot
it off the glass. I need drained the second one.
But you know you at least you'll give your your
teammates a chance to to rebound. Hey, rebound air ball?

(01:53:35):
Is it the Hawks? Do you like the Hawks the least?
Or someone else? It's a joke that this series is
going seven with Philly. Philly is just so immature blowing
a point lead. The thing with MBID, I thought that
was a joke too. He went over twelve in the
second half of what was it? Game four, had a
chance to go up three one in the series, and

(01:53:57):
in the postgame press conference he paused is while saying
I just didn't have it tonight to go. Wow, did
you see that dunk by Kauai? What it dunk by Kauai?
That was an insane dunk by Kauai? What are you doing?
Can you envision any great competitor saying that? Not at all?
So Phillies immature man, I can't. I don't love them

(01:54:17):
the most teams man's this is the new league right
like it's not there? This is what it is. Okay,
k D with a dunk and one as the nets,
a little bit, little bit of breathing room, up four,
with a chance to be up five off KD drains
the free throw. I'm saying there's a one shot chance

(01:54:39):
that he does not airball itand it's not even a
question alright, coming up next we close it down in style.
Offseason positivity is officially out of control. I'm Brian though
easy from Salaam. This is Fox Sports Radio. Probably no

(01:55:00):
easy from Salam here on Fox Sports Radio Top of
the Hour, Arnie Spaniard, Aaron Torres keep it locked right
here on fs are What in the world the beard
banks in a three with under four minutes to go?
What is this? Garbage here, big bed. We had a
Candy Barbett on this. It looked like it sounded like

(01:55:22):
you were leaning uh nets, you know, maybe leaning nets.
We have right, we got candy Barbett on it. No, no,
you have amnesia here. You were not willing to bet
me a candy bar Let's do it what You're a gambler, right,
I still think that the Bucks are gonna pull this out.

(01:55:43):
I need odds. You know, they're My team's trailing by five.
What sense does it make for me to make that?
You know what? Fine, you're on hashtag fear the Deer.
Let's do this. I'm not scared. Drew Holiday made a
three and then missed another one. He's three for nineteen.
He is killing the Bucks, killing them, and you're riding
with him. I'm riding with them. You're on Let the

(01:56:06):
record show them up one nothing right now, I've got
a candy bar to you know, lose? Yeah, A little
tight here down the stretch. So the Nets they're out
scoring Brooklyn. There's under four minutes ago. The Bucks have
fourteen points in the fourth quarter. Little tightness, right, little tightness,

(01:56:28):
spinker's little bit tight yep, little tightness over here? Okay,
so offseason positivity. You know the drill, big man. You
spent thirteen years in the NFL, So in June, it's,
oh my gosh, this teammate looks amazing. This other guy,
oh world. I just had to play you this sound
This is just in a nutshell. If you're like our

(01:56:51):
players positive in June, this would be the SoundBite that
you would play to say, yes they are. This is
Robbie Anderson Carolina at his wide receiver describing his teammate
Sam Donald. Here's Robbie. When I walked in the building
and just you know, viewing him, I see like a
new new energy out of him, like, you know, like
a glowing charisma that I didn't really see in New York.

(01:57:14):
You know when a person like you can see like
a glow on them, you know, their energy to ore,
I can kind of view that when I walked in
the building and you know, just being around him, Yeah,
he can sense Sam Donald's aura. Okay, man, I missed.
I don't know if I did that. I don't know
if I got that part. Yeah, I don't know if

(01:57:36):
I was able to do that in my career. Maybe
I was looking at the wrong stuff. You didn't say
any auras in June No, no, no, yeah, yeah, hard
to see the auras and pain and shorts. It reminded
me of Charlie Murphy on Chappelle's Shell talking about Rick James.
I'm sure you remember this pious like an army, his

(01:58:01):
aura or whatever. I see. That's what Robby Anderson has
seen with Sam Donald, he sees his aura. Of all
players to be talking about seeing an aura, this is
Brady Mahomes. Maybe he's talking about Donald around here. Just
followed him from New York talking about Sam Donald. Honest question,

(01:58:24):
how do you think Sam's gonna do his first year
in Carolina? He'll be serviceable? Yeah, yeah, but that that's it? Yeah,
I think that is the peak. Okay, So Middleton drained
to three my bucks I've adopted them in this postseason run.
My bucks only down by two three nineteen to go,

(01:58:46):
New life, New Life. Let me get these predictions from
you here, big man. So tomorrow is gonna be tremendous.
Let's start with game one. That's your first game, Clippers
at the Suns. No Kauai, no Chris Paul. Who takes
Game one the Clippers. It's a tough call. Isn't it. Yeah,

(01:59:08):
it's really tough. Yeah, you might just steer clear that
one if you're a gambler. I don't know. There's just
so many moving parts. Forty eight hours after winning games
game six and dramatic fashion for the Clippers, So we'll
see how it goes. They didn't fare that great, remember
that with the forty eight hour turnaround and playing Utah

(01:59:33):
was a disaster. Yeah, but I just, you know, I
just I just think they have a better team without
the stars in there. Yeah, yeah, I could see why
you made a great point earlier. We have seen the
Clippers win two huge games without Kawhi Leonard and Chris Paul.

(01:59:54):
He makes the show go real quick before we get
to the second prediction. If you look at Chris Paul,
who is an old man in basketball terms, dominating from
fifteen feet away, just the elbows work in the elbows.
And I don't need to see the same game from
Janice or Ben Simmons, but I think Chris Paul shows

(02:00:16):
you how you can be a stud by just dominating
from fifteen feet away. If Janice and Ben Simmons developed
respectable shots, those guys be forces. Man, You're so right,
get in the gym. Shoot shoot, shoot, shoot some more.
Find it, man, make a thousand. You gotta make a
thousand minute ranges a day. Yep, after a hundred, take

(02:00:38):
a break, go back at it after you gotta do
that ten times hundred, seven hundred seven seven million. Oh
come on, man, Yeah, okay, Game two, Game seven, all
the marbles, Hawks at the Sixers, going Philly. Yeah yeah,
I just think the Hawks aren't mature enough yet too.

(02:01:03):
You know, take that next step. How about this point
