So you know, it's always a good thing. You see

and during this whole season, we're gonna keep him up

that is what we do. We got Bobo in the back,
we got Ryan back there, we got Swolio up in

(03:17):

you check out our podcast if you miss any any
shows in the past. We do keep y'all up on game,
and we like the feel as though we do a
great job of doing it. So let's start hair fellas,
because I've been excited about having some conversations with you guys,

(03:37):
um and I want to start off with the situation
that's that's developing in Jacksonville. So many people believe that
it is difficult to actually comprehend that Trevor Lawrence may
actually be in the quarterbacks competition with with Menshu and

(03:58):
menh you excuse me. And and at first I thought, well,
maybe it's crazy to think that there's a controversy or
a competition, but you know what, maybe it's not. Let's
take a listen to what coach urban Meyer had to
say and then let's have a conversation about it. We'll
finalize that tonight, I asked shot Im Bevin. But they'll

(04:20):
both play a lot of it's who's gonna be behind uh,
you know, we just want to make sure we have
a protected both those quarterbacks for both will play. It's
definitely a chance that you guys want to start Trevor
Lawrence against Houston animal. Is there really a chance? Um?
I think we'll answer that as he gets closer. But
it's still very much, you know, competition to see who
gets that on her. All right, it's still an open conversation. Now.

(04:46):
He was not commenttal committal to the fact of saying
that he doesn't he doesn't he has a chance to
not start in the first game, but he did say
that the competition is still open. Do you believe first,
do you believe that this is an open competition between
Gardner Minshew and and Trevor Lawrence? And if you do

(05:09):
what you know what say you two this being a
controversy or competition, man, man if urban Meyer, don't get
out of here with that that competition, man, Listen, that
spot is Trevor Lawrences and it's gonna be his. There's
no competition. Trevor Lawrence um will probably play the first quarter.

(05:31):
Minshew will play probably into the second half maybe, But
when you draft the quarterback number one, we all notice
there's no competition, especially when you don't have a proven
veteran on the team. If he was a different position,
it wouldn't be a competition. We all know when you're
a first round pick, you're given that spot, you have

(05:52):
to lose it. And I mean when you have to
lose it, you have to be so bad and so
and Trevor Lawrence isn't gonna be that that's his spot.
They know it's no competition. Why are they uh trying
to put the blanket over our eyes and make us think, oh,
it's a competition between Trevor Lawrence and Gardner. Minshew, there's
no competition at all, TJ. You know what where the smoke?

(06:15):
That's fine. I don't believe that Irban Mind is really
pulling a blanket over our faces. I really don't, because
you are the same exact person when we were having
this conversation pre draft during the Ohio State and you know,
all those games and the Trevor Lawrence and eclipsing what
was the exact words of our Trevor Lawrence is a

(06:36):
generational quarterback. And now we have the head coach with
Jacksonville Jaguash, Irban Mind, coming out and saying he's not
sure if the number one picked that is supposed to
be the next great generational quarterback is going to be
the start on opening day. Hey, TJ, just because you

(06:57):
get draft at number one, they don't give you the position. Hey,
what if he's not better than Guarden? Mission what is
he's What if he's not as good as everybody thinks
he is. There's a great possibility that he is not
as great as a quarterback as everybody has been claiming
he s. Because y'all two were first round picks. See

(07:19):
y'all too, the same man to the League first round.
I haven't even commented yet. Now you're gonna throw me
and yeah, real quick. And so now we're having this conversation.
And just a few weeks ago we was having the
same conversation about uh, you know Jones and Cam Newton

(07:41):
and was like, oh, man, there's no way that Cam
Newton and Mac Jones will be competing for the starting
quarterback job. Oh, that's Cam's job. Apparently it's not because
he's in the quarterback dude also up there in New England.
So that's not his job as we know of yet.
But here we go again. He's the first pick in

(08:01):
the NFL draft. What if the young man is as
not as good as everybody thinks he is, because listen,
if he is the outright starting quarterback for your team
and this man is the first pick in the NFL draft,
urban male will get behind the microphone behind that party

(08:23):
man and say, you know what, Trevor Lawrence is our starter.
He will be the starter understender for the Jacksonville Jaguars
Week one against Houston. But he's not saying that because
he's sitting there looking at everybody knows that's the case. No,
it's not. I don't believe that. You just can't sit

(08:44):
there and say, t j oh, he got draft the
number one, it's gonna be given to him. I don't
you know what. I think it's a great player. I
don't believe he's a generational quarters. I wasn't giving my job.
Just so you know, when you you threw you, you
so conveniently threw me out of the bus. I wasn't
getting I was a number two overall pick. I didn't.
I don't think I started until I don't know it

(09:04):
was in the season. I couldn't. I didn't. I couldn't
win the job. I didn't win the job. And that's
I mean, that's that's a moment of of clarity for me.
I didn't come into training camp in shape as I
needed to be. When I came in, there was a
dude by the name of Greg jones Um who was
out of Colorado that was a pretty dog on good

(09:26):
uh linebacker. They put me out a new position, like
they put me at strong side, you know, stacked backer
on the ball over a tight end. I had never
did that. I had never been that close to the
ball unless I was blitzing. Now, all of a sudden,
they put me in the league, and they put me
at strong side backer, where I have to deal with

(09:47):
Howard Cross and Mark Brunner and and and and some
real blocking tight ends right and and so you know,
for me, you know, it was either blocking tight end
or coverage. You know, I had to go against Tony Gonzalez. Uh.
The point I'm making is I wasn't ready to be
a strong side backer. I don't know why they put

(10:08):
me there, but they did. And I wanted to play,
and I wanted to be the guy that you know
they wanted me to be. I just I just was
not prepared to be able to handle the duties of
being a stack backer. So for me, I wasn't given
the job when I came in, and and I didn't
start right away. And and even though there was a
ton of pressure to start me Greg Jones, I just

(10:31):
told you. I mean, And that's the thing. Though Greg
Jones wasn't a slouch. Well, I mean, he wasn't a
pro bowler or he wasn't he wasn't an established guy
where you're like, all right, this is the I will
say this. They came off of They came off of
a playoff run the year before and he was a
linebacker on that team. But I should have been able

(10:52):
to beat him out. I should have been able to
beat him out, and I didn't. And I think it
kind of goes to the point of what what plexus saying.
I I do believe urban Meyer has every I think
it's to his benefit that if if Trevor Lawrence is
indeed going to be his starter, and he knows that
at this point, I believe it's advantageous for him to

(11:14):
declare that, you know, this is our starter, but you know,
we're going to continue to see what we got going
on and and see how it plays out. But be
more definitive with the situation. The fact that he was
noncommittal about the situation to me says that there are
some doubts in terms of how far along he is
and maybe the competency level of what he can bring

(11:38):
to the table if he were to start him. I
think the bigger issue here is urban Meyer has his
coaching reputation on the line, So let's not forget that.
The bigger element here is not that Trevor Lawrence is
is considered to be a generational talent and a can't misplayer.
It's that urban Meyer has been a can't miss coach,

(12:00):
and coaches from college have generally historically not fared out
well at the NFL level. So I'm wondering to myself,
is the bigger issue here that that urban doesn't want
to mess up you know, what he's got going on
reputationally speaking, and and not put himself in a position
where if Gardner Minshew can be the guy that's best

(12:22):
suited for them to win, because that's ultimately what urban
Meyer wants to do and needs to do, I would
assume and taking the job is he wants to win.
No doubt that Trevor Lawrence is going to be the
guy that ends up starting. But when does that happen?
When does that happen? That that would be the question
that I had. We're going to continue this conversation age

(12:43):
seven seven six three six, Yeah, Hey, we're We're interested
in what you guys have to say as well. What
are you guys thinking, uh? In terms of of is
there a quarterback competition taking place? Uh in Jacksonville right now?
There there seems to be a lot of conversations about

(13:04):
if Gardner Minshew could actually you know, it's funny when
you run the numbers of Gardner Minshew they're they're actually
identical to Baker Mayfield. And we're talking about Baker Mayfield
potentially being a franchise quarterback that's going to do an
extension deal, a large extension deal as the face of

(13:24):
a franchise in Cleveland, maybe not this season, but next season.
And their numbers same years are are almost mirror image identical. Now,
so is Gardner took that job because of one guy? Truth? Truth?
But but but but what if he's not that guy?
And what if Gardner Minshew is a better quarterback than

(13:47):
what we thought and it's just a matter of Lawrence.
But what if he's better than Trevor Lawrence? Right now,
I don't believe that's the case. Well, I could be wrong,
but you have been wrong before, not often, not often.
Not get up. Hey, you know what they say, A
broke clock is right twice? Wow? All right? Twice it's

I enjoyed saying it. Uh. Okay, let's jump back into
this topic of conversation. Fellas, like, you know, t J.

(17:53):
You feel as though it's done deal Trevor Lawrence, he's
the guy. Plex you feel as though this actually actually
is a competition because well, lads might not be that guy,
all right. I tend to agree and and and and
I actually in fact feel as though that that urban
Meyer has to be good for for him and his

(18:18):
and I don't want to speak for him, but knowing
how that man has competed and has one everywhere he's gone,
that's his calling card, that's his legacy. And I think
if he feels as though he's gonna sacrifice what he's
doing and what he's built and what he's trying to
build um based off of a high draft pick, that

(18:39):
might be one of those lessons he needs to learn
in terms of recruiting versus drafting and how that works
with an organization. And he'll go from there. But I
just do not think that urban Meyer is going to
compromise winning for the sake of the fact that you
have a cat miss prospect or reported cat miss prospect

(18:59):
with your first pick. Alright, alright, well here we go.
Let's let's jump into the call lines. Man. Let's let's
go out to this Charleston. Let's go out to South
Carolina and check out Jerome. Roll me wrong, what you
got broll of of Lawrence? Doesn't work out, this is
gonna turn into a four man show. T J hush

(19:21):
LaVar and uh okay. By the way, uh t J
and one has called ninety pass during the season because
I was looking up some stuff on him. Ninety passing.
That's incredible. But I'm telling you, man, I'm not comfortable
with the term franchise and generational because that generational stuff

(19:45):
kind of skinning me. But franchise, hey, I'm okay with that.
But hey, we're gonna find out. We're gonna he's just
starting quarterback. Come on, the number one pick in the
whole draft, as Gary Kemperton one said, if I ain't starting,
I ain't departing. He's the number one from day one.
All right, okay, we appreciate Jeromi Rome, good call. Let's

(20:06):
let's go out to Kansas City. Uh, Chris, what you got? Brother? Hey,
I just gotta say, you guys have the best show
on the weekend far. You're you're kicking some masks man
with Jonas and everything else. Thank you appreciate t J.
You guys awesome. I mean, honestly, it's it's the best
show I can listen to on Saturday. Yeah, we try

(20:28):
to do our thing up in here. You know what
I'm saying. We try to We're trying to be in
a competition. You did downtrack coming to gentlemen. Hey, look,
let me tell you here in Kansas City, when they
drafted Patrick Mahomes, they said right off the bat, he's
going to serve an apprenticeship to Alex Smith and Alex
Smith because of that competition. I mean, what did he

(20:48):
throw like for yards that year pro bowler? I mean,
definitely out of character for Alex Smith. And then there's
nothing knocking and he's tougher than probably all four of
us combined. And that's the guy's honest truth my place.
I don't know about that that brother, you're talking. You're
talking to a tooth, chip, a tooth and all of

(21:11):
us put together. But go ahead. I hear you, Go
ahead and tell you. What I'm saying though, is this,
When you're drafted one one, you have got to take
the mantle. And I'm going to tell you the pressure
is all on him. Now, I'm not an athlete. I've
never played in the NFL. You tell me. I would
think that the locker room would expect him to take
the starting position. But I would also say this, if

(21:34):
he hasn't earned it, I don't think the team's gonna
be behind him, at least on a team like this.
There's more pressure on Urban Meyer this year, I think
than any other person in the NFL because he's I
never met the man, but I bet he's an egomaniac
and he wants to win more than anybody. At least
proven that, Hey, I can come and I can do
what Nick Saban did. The pressure is all on Urban,

(21:56):
but I do think that it's look Gardner, men, shoot,
he's a fantastic quarterback, There's no doubt about it when
when the time comes, but he can't compete with this.
Come on, guys, appreciate a let me ask you guys.
Let me let me ask you guys. This based off
of what he said Um, I mean because I I

(22:18):
think that that's he just gave some some interesting UH
perspective in terms of how how you should be viewing,
UH a high draft pick. You guys had an opportunity
to play with high draft picks? How did that? How?
How give me? Give me? How does the locker room feel?
How do you guys feel when a high draft pick

(22:41):
guy comes into the locker room and at the quarterback's position?
You know what? Uh, I actually believe that it's the
other way around. I don't believe. I believe that there
is a lot of pressure on Urban Mayer to come
in and win and based off his resume and what
he was able to do the University of Florida, But
all the pressure is on Trevor Lawrence as as the

(23:04):
player who actually has to go out and perform. In
the back of his mind said, you know what, what
if I'm not as good as everybody thinks that I am,
it's a it's for me. It's a direct opposite. T
J just said, Urban Man took this position, he took
this job to be the head coach because of one
person that was Trevor Lawrence. So the pressure is on

(23:26):
him also. But Trevor Lawrence is supposed to be this
just like he said, this generational player, can't miss player.
He's one of the best quarterback prospects that we've seen
in the last fifteen or twenty years. What if he's
not that guy? So how does all the pressure fall
on Irban Meyer as the head coach If Trevor Lawrence

(23:50):
goes out this season gets understanding for the Jacksonville Jaguars
and he's not this great player that everybody thinks that
he is. I'm not saying that he is based on
what I see baseball, based off what I saw Trevor
Lawrence doing college, I think he's gonna be a franchise quarterback.
He's going to be a great player. But at the
same time, I believe all the pressure is on Trevor

(24:13):
Lawrence and not so much Iran mar TJ. You had
a one for one. How how did that work out
when Carson Palmer came in for me? When when a
guys drafted one, you know, it's just a matter of time.
But the Bengals, they let it be known Carson will sit.
The first year, they let it be known Carson wasn't playing,
So he didn't play that his entire rookie year, John

(24:35):
Kittner was a quarterback and that following year Carson was
a starter. But they let that be known Carson Palmer
would not play. Now when when you when you're talking
Trevor Lawrence, whether he's gonna have some growing pains as
a rookie. This is a National Football League Number one,
number two. The Jacksonville Jaguars had the first pick for
a reason. That the first pick for a reason because

(24:57):
they were a bad football team. And so he's gonna
have some horrible games because they aren't a very good
football team and they're trading their best place like Joe Sherbert,
they just trade them to the stats, and they're trading
good players, and so his success will hinge upon everyone
else and everyone else they're just they're just not that good.

(25:21):
Right now, did you guys agree t J Like what
when when they made it known that that Carson Palmer
wasn't going to start, Because Carson Palmer, for all intensive purposes,
probably had the same type of fanfare and and a
lot of the same type of hype when he was
coming out of USC that Trevor Lawrence had coming out
of Clemson. When you take a guy first with the

(25:44):
first pick of the draft, and you make it known
that he's not going to start. How did the players,
how did you guys react to that? Like where you
guys okay with it? I know Kitna was respected, but
did you feel like that that that was the right decision,
Where you guys supportive of it? Where y'all like, go
sit in the corner and get some don nuts, rookie,
Like what how was how was the idea of a

(26:04):
number one guy, number one draft pick coming in and
sitting out the first year that I've had so much
fanfare and so much accolades coming in. I mean, you
guys gotta understand this too. This is crazy, right. So
you know who also was on that team was Achille
Smith and so number three overall draft pick, Yes and so,

(26:26):
and I actually thought Carson's rocky year. Achille looked pretty good.
He was starting to come in come into his own.
But you know, it was too late. It was too late.
The already drafted Carson. But it was one of those
things where one t J was fighting to make the team.
So t J and worrying about who just throw me

(26:46):
the ball? No, No, t J, gotta make sure he
on that team. So gootness fights when the first did training. Hey,
if I was the first round pick, he wouldn't be
trying to fight me. But who was fighting with DJ?
I just remember he went to West Virginia. It was
a dB, but it was. But I've always be no, no,

(27:11):
no no. I never played with pac Man. I never
I never played with pac Um. But when when you
draft a guy that high, it's just a matter of when.
And the Bengal said Carson won't be the backup. Okay, dude,
Trevor Lawrence is starting right out the gate. If he
doesn't start out the gate, they've blown. Like I think,

(27:35):
I think, I think he wants him to earn it,
But why does he have to earn If you said
it's gonna be given to him, That's that's what urban
Meyer wants him to do. It is going to be
given to him. But I would hope so. But Urban
wants him to feel like he's earned it. And and
if he's any good as a player, Garden means you

(27:56):
can't touch him man like you can Garden mens status
the same as Baker Mayfield. A thin't like Baker Mayfield
has left the league on the on fire. Yeah, but exactly.
But they're they're talking about him in terms of franchise
quarterback contract extension. If Baker Mayfield wasn't the first pick
of the draft, they wouldn't be talking about that type

(28:17):
of contract if he wasn't the number one pick. And
you gotta take this in the consideration. Gardner Minshew is
playing for a dysfunctional organization and putting them numbers up
where and he do have no Landrid Joes about the same, No,
Koreem huh Jarvis Jarvis, Yeah, yeah, I mean yeah, I
mean that's yeah. And the best officer line of football,

(28:39):
I mean yeah, olde. The old line is debatable. They
that's I mean the Coats. The Coats can make an
the Colts can make an argument. That's true, that's true.
But what he's saying is that he got a left
as then what going on the mission? And they put
the same numbers together. I'll tell us that a knock

(29:01):
is that a knock on Baker or it's a little no,
it's it's like, what are we calling the franchise quarterback? Now?
That's that's the point. That's the point that what do
we call the French out quarterback. Let's they both got
the same numbers. Let's table this for two seconds, because
you know what, we got a number one guy and
Mr David's slowly old gascon. What's trending? My friend leg

(29:24):
workouts with t J Houshmanzata. Yeah, he do some weird
leg workouts too, man like some like weird type stuff
where it looked like your kneecap pop off, blow off
through your You gotta go pick it up. Yeah, that's
what they call you. Stretch right, stretch, get it guys.
Preseason ball, Miami leads Chicago three nothing. This ball game

(29:44):
just got underway. It's in the first quarter. To a
ton of a little is taking the snaps in the
first the athletic reporting Steelers will not extend it. Mika
Fitzpatrick this season behind the eight ball right now with
salary cap issues, So what she gears to Major League Baseball.
Washington Post published an article saying that Trevor Bauer was
given a temporary order protection last year after allegedly physically

(30:05):
abusing a woman from Ohio, making a death threat towards her.
According to the sealed court records by the Post, they
said the woman was punched and choked by Barrow without
her consent while they were having sex. Also Yeah, he
also reportedly had centered text messages saying he doesn't feel
like spending time in jail for killing someone. Man, why

(30:26):
don't you just go jump on a heavy bag and
go to a gun range. I mean, you can take
out a lot of aggression, you know, and things that
won't get you in trouble. Yeah. Well, so he actually
went to social media and started pushing back on this post,
but pretty dealtailed detailed information from Bower on that. But
obviously he's in a world of hurt. Dodgers have him
on administrative leave. Doesn't look like he's coming back anytime soon.

(30:48):
Punch me wats same on You punched me twice, same
on me, Like at the end of the day. I mean,
there's too many punches going on for me, you know,
it's too too too much violence for me. It's something
going on here. There's where there's punches. There's there's punches,
you know, and there's more. And well we'll just leave
that there. We'll appreciate that slowly old gascon that's there trending.

(31:08):
Did you have anything else for us? Nothing else? And
anything else? Nothing else? Alright, good, alright, Well, here's what
we're gonna do, fellas. Let's go back to the call lines.
But before we go back to the call lines, want
to make sure that you guys know we will be
talking about Dak Prescott. We will be talking about the
Dallas Cowboys. They had a game last evening. Uh. Yeah,

(31:28):
we're gonna talk about the quarterback situation. Would be curious.
I'm I'm interested in getting the opinions from you guys
about Mike McCarthy and his heart knocks. Uh, conversation about
well wanting to to be a championship team. Uh, we'll
get to that and more. But let's let's go back
out to our phone lines. Let's go to Andre, our guy,

(31:49):
Dre and Massachusetts. What's going on? Dre? Going on, guys,
thanks for taking the court. It's absolutely pressure on Urban
Meyer and Jacksonville. And it's because he have a can't
miss prospect and Trevor Lawrence that he's dealing with. But
LaVar I was watching on Undisputed last week. He also
has a prospect by the name of Tim Tebow on

(32:09):
this roster that many people think can miss. And so
because Irvin has taken these unorthodox steps in his team building,
constructs that have raised the eye or sometimes the ire
of a lot of other people in the football community.
He can't get off to a rocky start, a one
in three and oh and four type of start. He
needs to get up. He needs to start fast and

(32:31):
show people that these concepts and these ideas that have
worked in the college level do have validity on the
NFL level. And so yes, if Trevor Lawrence, as you said, LaVar,
you come in number two pick, if he is not
precise and on point and ready to go from day one,
I think urban Meyer will lean towards the gardener Minshew,
who has had success at times. A lot of people

(32:52):
know the best player on the best quarterback on the
team that's struggling is a backup quarterback. So we don't
know if he can do it for the course of
a season. But if Minshew starts off well, you know,
I think rban Meyer will be in clients because there's
a lot of we give the key boats to me.
People are looking at that and saying, you know, I
don't feel I feel a certain type of way. And
if you mess up with your QB or if you

(33:14):
you start slow, and you don't have the right person
in a QB or remire. All of that capital that
he brought from college, it's used up, and he's gonna
get a top tough spot. Think about that. You know what,
I will say this man, there's something of that you
know has just popped into my mind when dream was talking. Uh,
you know how many of your games of lace losing college?

(33:37):
I believe too so? And to me, you know what,
he's never facing an adversity as a player, and he's
been one of the great quarterbacks and in college football history.
But from a from a young guy coming to the
first pick who's highly touted as he is, if he's

(33:57):
not where if if if Trevor Lawrence is not where
Urban mar thinks he should be, I believe that Urban
Mal won't start him because he doesn't He don't think
that he knows how to deal with in type of
versity because he's never he has to start him. And
from a consident standpoint, what would it do to a

(34:17):
travel lawns you start him and open a day or
whatever the fact? Maybe he goes on three on for
water Gate and he's not playing well. This is national
to live with it's the National Football League like it,
not ever been through it. Do you guys not understand?
I understand what this is a This is a quote
unquote competition quote unquote competition. If he can't beat Gardner

(34:43):
Minshew out, that's they blew this. No, it is fair.
It is fair because this is just might not be ready.
Why can't he just not be ready? T J. There
they're both learning, and they're both learning learning out, but
but they're both learning the same. One has the advantage.
I've already had been in the league and know what
it is to go through a football season and one

(35:05):
pro and one has advantage up and put up good
numbers the best competition and got his head kicked in
in his last game out. I'm just saying that at
least he took his team to that position. There's no way,
there's no way there is possible. There's no way possible
he does. He's not he's not the weak one starter,

(35:27):
No way possible unless he gets hurt. There's no way,
no way, there's no way I could have you as
my g M. T J. And that was and that's
you don't want to And that's me being petty from
you hitting us with that last week, I just figured out.
I'll let you know, I didn't forget we would win everything.
Our lad team would whoop. Y'all know, Let's go to Alaska.

(35:48):
Let's talk to George. We who George? What you got looking?
Y'all appreciate it. But I'm a big sports fan then
I barely understand. But I appreciate how you guys break
down everything just comprehensibly, and how you asked all these
questions that no one else really thinks about. Man, appreciate

(36:13):
Thank you, sir Matt. We appreciate that. George wild to
make sure y'all clip that we need to use that
as a promo. Man, that's what we do on up
on game, Let's come out to California. What you got? John?
All right? Thanks for having me on. I love listening
to you guys. Is insight into the game. I was
just wondering, what do you think the odds are that

(36:36):
he's just trying to build up minsh you because every
year there's a quarterback that gets hurt or something happens,
and they're really get a team that panics and overpays. Men,
that's a possibility, and I think that that's a highly
intelligent take. To be honest, that's a highly intelligent take. Well,
you gotta say to that, he has a point. Everybody,

(37:00):
somebody goes down, everybody wants to back up quarterback. I mean,
you look at Nick Foles and on the Chicago backers,
and he's basic trying to sell himself to the Coats,
but they're trying to sell it. He man, he put
that body on the line, didn't they get they get
me out of here. He is as good as advertised.
I he Folds was on track list with it like

(37:23):
I'm here take me but but but truthfully over the left.
But but truthfully, over the last few you know, two
or three years, the backup quarterback in the NFL is
one of the most coveted positions in all the sports
because listen, you can't compete and win championships in this
league without an elite quarterback. And now, you know what

(37:45):
two years ago when Aaron Rodgers went down, and you know,
some of these quarterbacks had all these uh you know,
season in in in in the years, you know, the
backup quarterbacks are making what four or five million dollars
now just standing on the sideline. So it's just one
of the positions that what you just have to have
a backup quarterback if your starter goes there, let you
have a chance to go out and compete. And that's

(38:06):
what the teams are doing. All right, Well, it remains
to be seen. Um, we will continue, I'm sure and
I'm certain to talk about the developments of this topic
of conversation. We got a whole lot more coming guys.
Jordan's Love he makes his debut tonight. What are we
looking for? What should we expect? How much pressure is

(38:27):
on them? Uh? You know what? A few more other
guys are going to be out there. Zach Wilson, he's
going to do with trade Lands. He's making the debut.
What is that mean? I tell you what, It's a
whole lot. I'm getting my deep fried. I just got
a deep frym and use that deep fryer I got.
I got some ribs. That's that's on Marinate right now.
I'm gonna enjoy me some games. Got me big old

(38:49):
box up Pacifico. You know what, I haven't even decided
what I'm a deep fried, because when you have a
deep fried, you kind of just gotta prep something the
right way and then let the deep Frier. Just do
what it does. You know what I mean. I let
the magic happen when I'd be up in that kitchen. Player,
I don't even know. I just let the spirit move me.
You know what I mean? You know what Plex would
a rival you. Plex ain't put up nothing about this food.

(39:10):
Plex be cooking dough, Plex me cooking. But I'll spank
him in the in the kitchen. I will run so
I will. I will get open on Plex like how
he did in the Super Bowl. I will I will
put the dagger in him like he did to the
New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. I will sit there.
Will you did understand what my cooking is all about.

(39:31):
I don't have to put it all on social media,
Instagram from to see the people know, they know, they
know who the real cook is. Man, stop that you
better come look at this all man old belly and
and and then you'll be able to understand how I
do what I do. My belly is a reflection of
how good my food evace us. Yeah, no doubt, no

(39:54):
no doubt. And Plexiico Burrus and T J. Rich Manzada
and LaVar Arrington, this is up all game Yeah. Fox

up on game. T. J. Hushman is out of plexical bursts.
Myself LaVar Arrington. We are heading very quickly out of

(41:47):
the first hour and into the second hour. Got a
lot of great topics we just discussed. Uh is their
quarterback competition taking place in Jacksonville? Between mention you and
and Lawrence, we're gonna jump into what's going on with
the Dallas Cowboys? Uh? Right here coming up and at

(42:08):
the top of the hour hour two of the show.
But before we get out of this hour, I'm wondering,
I'm curious, do you guys have a preseason game that
you're most interested in watching this weekend. Man, for me,
I'm actually looking forward to all. I want to see
how justin Field plays. I want to watch Trey lance Um.
So for me, it's really the Rickie quarterback and how

(42:30):
they do that. That's what I'm looking forward to. I
want to see those guys play. Yeah, it's actually two
games for me, New Orleans Saints in the Baltimore Ravens,
because I want to see what this quarterback situation is
looking like down in New Orleans, because we have actutely
absolutely have no idea what that quarterback situation is looking
back because Drew Brees has been the franchise quarterback for
down there for over the last eighteen years. I'm I'm

(42:53):
looking at what I want to see that And also
the Jets and the Johnts. Has there been any offensive
improvement for either team? And how does Zach Wilson look.
Daniel Jones has a brand new offense with all these
flashy new price tag whide receivers and tight ends and
all of those things. I don't think six Kue won't

(43:14):
be playing, But it's the offense in New York back
to where it's supposed to be for either team. Interesting
you know, I think the quarterbacks are galvanizing the population,
galvanizing the storylines. I'm I'm really interested as well. Uh,
Justin Fields is on right now if you're if you're
paying attention on on NFL network. Uh So it's to

(43:38):
a uh tongue of the lower So he's he's playing
in and they could be done pretty soon, but they
are out there on the field as of right now. Uh.
I definitely want to see what's going on with the quarterbacks, guys.
I think the Jordan's Love storyline, I definitely want to
see how he plays because ultimately what he does in

(43:58):
this preseason will either work to the advantage of what
Aaron Rodgers is cooking and in Green Bay, or it
will create a very very interesting uh season and scenario
for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, depending on
what what Jordan's Love does. So there's a lot on that,

(44:19):
There's a lot on that young man for what it
is he's gonna do. But man, this is this is
a quarterback heavy storyline type of season. Guys. It's because
so many of them were drafted so high man and
expectations and and the guy that's playing in front of them.
You know, they can be beat out, and so it's

(44:40):
just the build up of what's gonna happen, how are
they gonna play. It's just intriguing, very intriguing. But the
quarterbacks have dominated the conversation of football NFL over the
last you know year, so especially with this draft, uh
that just passed by, because you know what, at all
these quarters, at all these quarterbacks probably the least talk

(45:01):
to most about quarterback. At Trevor Lawrence, everybody's talking about
trade law, trade lands. Uh, justin fields, that's that's what
that's And Jordan's love because he was in the news
obviously because of Aaron Rodgers. But everybody is what wants
to see how he's going to play. So you know,
nobody's really talking about Trevor Lawrence because he's supposed to
be this great player. But they they've dominated the headlines

(45:24):
when you talk about football. I'm interested to hear about you.
You hear what you guys are feeling about the Jordan
Love scenario in Green Bay. But first, on the other
side of this break, we're gonna talk Dak Prescott, We're
gonna talk Coach McCarthy, and we're gonna talk well, America's team,
the Dallas Cowboys. This is up on game t J
Hudgmon's out of Plexico, Burd's LaVar Arrington. Uh yeah, this
