Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Pret what's going on? Everybody?
Hope you're enjoying your Saturday evening. We got action. We're
hanging on by a thread with action here in this
Alabama Florida game. Looks like Bama just converted on third
and two. We're under two minutes to go, big man,
Florida has two time outs. It looks like Bama's gonna

(00:24):
pull this one out. How are you doing? First and format?
I'm doing great? How are you great? Great? And uh hey,
how about this? You know it's a two point game.
Florida hung tough. They a game effort by the Gators,
but it looks like they're gonna fall a little bit
short here today. Yeah, I mean it was. It was
a good game like I and I enjoyed it. Whenever

(00:46):
you see Miami playing somebody, we just automatically assumed, Okay,
this is gonna be a route. Uh So going into it,
that's what we feel. Uh and long behold, we got
a whole football game out of it. Yeah, And man,
I really hate to start off this way because I
know how you have a distaste for kickers in general,

(01:08):
and especially kickers who miss kicks right and that's what
happened in the Florida game. They missed an extra point.
This isn't an NFL thirty three yard extra point. This
is the chip shot nineteen yard variety. They missed an
extra point. They were chasing that point, then just missed
a two point conversion a few a few minutes ago.

(01:28):
That's why they trailed by two right now. If they
could kick extra points, might be a tight game at
this stage. Yeah. And you know, I don't want, you know,
all the kickers out there to think that I don't
like them. I just don't like when they don't do
their job right like I. I do my job. Um,

(01:51):
quarterback does his job, defense does their job. Just do
your job because you only have one thing to do,
that's it. Yeah, and I can if it's a fifty
eight yard or exactly if it's college extra point. Man,
Yeah that that to me in the NFL, like a

(02:13):
forty yard kick is nothing, you know for kickers, that's
what they do. So I don't like. I I have
no sympathy for that. I really don't. Oh well it
was you know it was this or it was that,
Oh it was No, I don't care. Just do your
job and now, Florida is in a situation where to
kick it in do their job. And you know what else,

(02:35):
if we rewind a little bit a couple of minutes ago,
Bama had fourth and short, They're inside Florida's five yard line,
and they kicked the field goal. They went up by
eight points. And in this day and age, I just
hear more and go for it. Just go for it.
We're still hammering Mike McCarthy the first NFL game of

(02:57):
the year for not going for it when Dallas lost
to Tampa. Right, it's this day and age, just go
for it, and sometimes that blows up in your face.
And you saw Alabama. They elected to kick it. They
went up by eight points and that's a big reason
why they still lead right now. And I'll in going
back to that Dallas Cowboy game on Thursday, opening the

(03:19):
day of the NFL season. What did their kicker do? Well,
he was missing a lot of kicks, right, And that
game is a different ball game. If he makes it
feel goal, he makes an extra point, right, that's four points.
That's a completely different ball game. And that's the problem. Right,

(03:40):
you do everything, I mean, dad almost to for five yards.
The defense is playing out of its mind. It's got
two interceptions and you can't go out and kick a
field goal. Are an extra point like that is the problem.
That's why there's that love eight relationship with kickers, because

(04:02):
I mean, those guys were playing. I mean they play
well above expectation offensively and defensively side uh on the
sides of the ball, and then you get to the
special teams and you lay an egg. That's the the dynamic,
and that's that's how difficult it is. I mean, that's crazy.
That's what's coming back to bite Florida right now. As

(04:23):
they trailed by two and missed an extra point earlier
in the game. So as we wind it down, it
looks like Bama they're gonna have to punt. It's fourth
and two, but they're winding the clock all the way down.
There'll be fewer than ten seconds to go. When Bama
elects to punt, I would have to imagine they're punting this.
There's not If there were like five seconds, Bryce Young

(04:46):
could run around a little bit and then throw it
forty yards down field and that's the ball game. But
with ten seconds to go, they're probably gonna have to
punt it and then we might have some razzle dazzle
at the end with Florida trying to pull a miracle out.
But this is Bama's game right here. But I had
an epiphany today. I wanted to run by you, big man,
Brian noany from Salam with you here on Fox Sports Radio.
I had an attitude adjustment. That's right. If your parents

(05:10):
ever say that you need an attitude adjustment. I can't
remember if my mom or dad ever said that, but
I've heard it before, right. I had an attitude adjustment
college football style today because I was just thinking about Bama.
Florida played them real tough today. There aren't a ton
of teams in the country that can play Bama tough.
Most teams don't have a prayer of beating them. And

(05:32):
sometimes my attitude is like, wow, that's nice, you want
a game today, but can you beat Bama? No? So
what does it really matter? And I started thinking what
a fan base has acted the same way. Think about that.
College football, it's all about passion, it's all about emotion.
There have been some great atmospheres today Indiana. There's a
great atmosphere against Cincinnati today. Neither one of those teams

(05:54):
has a prayer of upsetting Alabama. But if those fan
bases behave that way, like we can't be Bama, so
what's the use why even go to the game? Right,
we'll just watch it at home. Maybe I'll catch like
the end of the fourth quarter, and right, imagine if
that was the attitude of college football fans. So I
adjusted my attitude. Big man. I'm not gonna just dismiss

(06:15):
any old result in any game and say you can't
beat Bama doesn't matter. Well that's good because I mean you,
first of all, you have to get there, right, So
if you're only as fans or anything, if you're only
you know, will is to cheer. If you think your

(06:37):
team can beat Alabama, then that's ridiculous. Right. Most of
these teams won't ever play Alabama, but they can win
their conference. They can go to a big time bowl game,
Like there's only one person wins the national championship. So
does that mean you don't play for anything? Conference titles

(07:01):
mean things, absolutely, right, So you know that the sentiment
of oh we got a good team, they won, but
they can't be Bama. So yeah, that's it is. And yeah,
that's why I've adjusted my attitude personal growth. Have you
been meditating? I have not. I just it. It just

(07:24):
sunk in. Today. I'm looking at the white out tonight
right Penn State hosting Auburn, Like you're sucking all the
fun out of college football if you have this will
neither one of those teams can beat Bama when it
really matters. It's like, who cares? This is a great
matchup tonight. Enjoy Auburn at Penn State, right, Like you're
taking all the fun out of it if you just

(07:46):
look at who can beat Bama and that's it. That's yeah,
that's one thing to be mindful of, but it shouldn't
be the only thing. Yeah, I mean, it's it's football,
you know. Like right now I'm cheering on my Astecs
playing Utah. By the way, what are they eight nine
point underdogs today? I don't know. I peeked at it
and I'm like, what are the Aztecs doing over a touchdown?

(08:09):
Dogs today? Who do they have? Utah? Now I've heard
of them before and I know their nickname, you know,
I was thinking it was like, I mean, last week
they played Packed, played twelve team two and it was
to nothing in the first quarter. What's the record right now,

(08:30):
by the way to now, okay, all right, money line
play tonight. They've taken down the utes. Oh yeah, absolutely, okay, alright,
alright nice. By the way, Georgia, have you seen the
point spread in this game? Georgia is hosting South Carolina.
Georgia is favored by thirty one points. Thirty one points?

(08:53):
Good lord, game cox real they didn't they take someone
out of the stands like a graduate assisted or somethings
playing order back for South Carolina. Holy cow? And this
is just downright disrespectful. It's my favorite line of the
week in the Oregon game. Right, So, uh, Oregon they
face stony Brook? Was it this game or was it

(09:14):
something else? My I think it's this one. But um yeah,
stony Brook and not getting a lot of love from Vegas.
So Oregon they are forty one and a half point
favorites and the total is fifty four and a half.
So then I expecting stony Brook. And again the rule
is if you don't know the nickname their garbage. I couldn't,

(09:35):
for the life of me tell you what stony Brook's
nickname is. Do you know? No, I have no clue,
no idea what it is. Uh. And by the way,
I don't know if we have to pour one out
for Don Brown's Miami Hurricanes. Here Don Brown or technical
producer rides for the Miami Hurricanes. They lose again. They

(09:56):
lose again as they get punked by Sparta Michigan states
around to seventeen, and then they go on social media.
I thought this was a weak diss. You see this,
They went out and it was a take on the
turnover chain, and so they just put turned over and

(10:17):
instead of the you you know, like the Miami you
logo on the helmet, it was literally upside down week.
You gotta come stronger than that Sparta on Twitter. Come on,
what is that? You just beat Miami by three touchdowns
and then you throw that up there week. I go
thumbs down on that. I give a New York mets
habbibi as double thumbs down to that diss by Sparta.

(10:41):
What do you say to that? Yeah, that's that's just weak.
We'll get to Oklahoma barely surviving against that powerhouse Nebraska.
You know, I will continue to bang the drum here
and and we'll get to the produce bas drum as well.
I found that to be pretty funny during the week,
but I'll bang the drum against Oklahoma. I'm sick and

(11:04):
tired of hearing of Oklahoma another week result from them,
even though they barely survived. They're surviving and advancing at
home against Nebraska and who was it? Was it two lane?
Earlier in the year, what are we doing over here?
Good lord? Oklahoma? They were touted as a team that
could maybe take down Bama. I hate to book in
this segment with personal growth of I'm not gonna just

(11:27):
dwell on if you can beat Bama or not. But
I heard all this stuff about Oklahoma maybe beating Bama.
They're not in the same galaxy as Bama right now,
are you kidding me? They're not remotely close. No, not even,
not not even a little bit, not even. And I
told you when we had that the segment last week
about who would you take out of the top four

(11:52):
that are constantly in there in my first pick of Oklahoma,
because I mean, it's literally gets down to a point,
where's fool's goal? Yeah, you know, it's funny you mentioned them.
I want to go here next. It's weird how we
celebrate an achievement in one sport. I'm talking Rose petals galore,
and we don't do that in another sport. We'll dive

(12:13):
into that coming up. I'm Brian no Easy from Salam.
This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no Easy from

(12:33):
perfect shave with Dollar Shave Club in stores. Yeah, that's
Dollar Shave Club in store. So go to the store
and find them. Welcome to the club, all right, big man. So,
I was just thinking about this, how it differs so
greatly the reaction to making the final four in college
basketball compared to making the final four in college football.

(12:56):
We were just talking about Oklahoma and how we're the
entired seeing them get in the Final four and get wrecked, right,
because that's what happens. But we are throwing roses at
the feet of Notre Dame, Oklahoma, even Ohio State who
made it to the championship game and got rolled by
Bama last year. Right, It's so different because we go crazy.

(13:22):
It's almost like a ticker tape parade. When you make
the final four in college basketball. Think about Tom Iszo
with Michigan State. He has made it there, I forget
six seven times, it's won one title, but we reference
his final four appearances left and right. It's it's strange
how different it is between those two sports. It is
and and and and you know, football is there's a

(13:46):
whole another beast, you know what I mean. Expectations are
are so high. Not to say it, it's not like
that in basketball, but you lose one game and football, yeah,
I mean that's pretty much it, right, or you gotta

(14:07):
be perfect from then on out. Yeah, Like so that's
I think that's where you know it. It's intense constantly,
Like you can start ohing five in basketball and find
yourselves in the final four. That's right. You could have
a dog regular season, you could have a losing record,

(14:31):
and when you're in the final four, you're in. You're
at least in the tournament. And then yeah, you gotta
win four games if you're not in the first four,
when four games you're in the final four. And I
think in football everything has to be perfect, So you know,
expectations are higher, the energies higher, every everything about it

(14:54):
is more intense. And and and that's a great thing.
I love it. Yeah, Uh, it's great because our trusted
producer Lee Robert de lapped the fourth. He always tries
to guess the tease, right, like I'll throw it out
there and it'll be somewhat cryptic, and they'll try to guess, Hey,

(15:15):
what's the subject, like what are we talking about next?
And so I it was kind of tough to get
it right. So I told him what it was. And
so Lee and Don Brown they started chiming in as
to why is that. Why do we celebrate final fours
in college basketball and we don't in college football, And
they came up with a couple of good reasons, like

(15:36):
we haven't had the final foeurign football for a long time.
We've had this for not even a decade, right, and
you compare that to college basketball, it's not nearly as prestigious.
So shout out to Don Brown on that one. Also,
there's a selection committee it in college football, and technically
there's one in college basketball also, but it's more profound,

(15:57):
like we focused on it a lot more like what
was a committee thinking putting this team in and not
that team? Right, it's a bigger deal. And I also
think this, big man. I would add this to the discussion.
We need one shining moment in college football. Right. If
you get that, if you get the nostalgia, the ball
is kicked. Right if we have that boom, now we

(16:18):
got something. Now we can start celebrating final fours in
college football a little bit more. Yeah, yeah, I agree
with that. And um, you know, uh, like you said
at the beginning of this, uh you know, we he
praises on Notre Dame and all that. But my friend
who's an avid listener of this, his also his name

(16:40):
is also Brian. He he said, the Notre Dame fan
talking about Oh you you know what this, I will
admit a little bit of the pot calling the kettle
black here. I get it. Yes, it's kind of like
a sibling thing, you guys, brother and sister. I don't
know who's the brother and who's the sister, but same family. Yeah. Listen,

(17:03):
Notre Dame has gotten to the college football playoff and
they've gotten their teeth kicked into I get it. But
no one's touting Notre Dame. No one's like, look out
for the Irish this year. They could take down Bama.
No one was saying that I heard that left and
right about Oklahoma this year and they're barely winning at
home against dog teams. I'm sick of them. Get out
of my face forever, Oklahoma, That's what I say, forever

(17:28):
at least. Yeah, I just I just think if unless
you can either either of those schools, you know, Notre Dame, Oklahoma,
any of those schools, if you can, you know, get
to that mountain peak and then just perform, I mean,
they get lambasted. Like it's not even close, you know

(17:51):
what I mean, Like it's not even at halftime. We're
looking for other things to do. And that's the other
thing too, because it changes so much in college basketball.
You don't have the usual suspects over no, right, you
don't have Obama in college basketball. You don't have like
the same five or six teams that just kind of

(18:13):
rotate into the final four. So it's new, it's fresh,
it's different. But if you had the same dynamic in
college basketball where the usual suspects got there and the
usual suspects got their teeth kicked in, like, we wouldn't
be celebrating final fours as much. So that changes it also, Yeah,
it does, and you look Alabama has a stronghold on

(18:34):
college football right now. Um, you know, anything can happen.
But you know, Florida just they played them, played them
great today. Any anything can happen, and I just think, um,
they're not invincible. No, yeah, they're really good. You know what,

(18:57):
They recruit really well. Every year they replay a pieces,
I mean justin receivers alone, all right. They these quarterbacks
come out of nowhere, they have ultimate success. All of
these things are happening, and so it's like there there,
there the standard right now. But this is where it
boils down in my mind. Was this outcome where Florida

(19:22):
plays them tough, Mama Bama wins by two points. Is
this more of a good thing for college football? Or
is this more of a bad thing for college You
know what, I'm gonna be negative no on this, but
I think you'll I think you'll feel me a little
bit on all right. This gives Nick Saban the ability

(19:43):
to say, I was trying to tell you right. He
could tell his team we're not as good as that
first half against Miami when we're up twenty seven and nothing.
Have you seen Miami, by the way, they just got
rolled by Michigan State lost by three touchdowns. They barely
beat app Lasting State, they're barely beating FCS teams. And
we're gonna sit here and read our press clippings or

(20:06):
whatever's we want to read, what's being taught said about
us on social media. And we have got to focus
in and stop thinking that we're good enough just to
show up and win games. This gives Nick Saban the
ability to focus this team. That's a bad thing. Yeah,
that is that. That is, Uh, practice gonna be a
little bit tougher. We're coming up, um because the you know,

(20:30):
the perception of we run this. I mean, how could
you not? These are kids. You gotta remember these are kids.
These these are kids at Alabama and they're feeling themselves
right Like it's okay to feel yourself. Um, because their
record speaks for itself. This is a humbling moment for them. Yeah,

(20:52):
when you look at their schedule, their remaining schedule, you
know this is this is you gotta step up and
and and now you you gotta you gotta come to
play right like every game no matter how small it seems. Right,
they don't really have a tough schedule at all. The

(21:13):
last game the Iron Bowl probably being their toughest remaining schedule,
and that's just because you never know what you're gonna
get in that you know, so they'll be there, They're
they're gonna be Okay, welcome to Obama, where you can
get humbled. But you know, along the the lines of

(21:38):
being humble. Um, I know one of my dear friends,
there's a member of this this team that we have
every Saturday. And you want to talk about humility, You
got a guy sitting at the top of the throne
who never even talks about the throne, right he does.

(21:59):
He doesn't want his name mentioned in the same breath
of the throw. And have a teammate like that that
lets you know that you're on the right track. And
that's our guy, Stephen h Thank you, gentlemen. Yeah, thank

(22:26):
nag party. By the way. Number one. Alabama's win was
thirty one nine at eleventh ran Florida. Abama had twenty
one three after the first quarter three touchdown passes from
Bryce Young on the first three drives. Alabama eventually committed
eleven penalties, had just ninety one yards rushing as a team,
but did get the two point win as the Gators
missed an extra point in the second quarter and was

(22:47):
stopped at a two point try with about three minutes
left in the game. Number two Georgia's out to a
seven nothing lead in the opening minutes against South Carolina.
Number four Oregon is hosting Stony Brook in just a
couple of minutes, also about to start. Number twenty two
Auburn at number ten Penn State. Number nine Ohio State
has just one against Tulsa forty one to twenty. Buckeys

(23:09):
had four touchdowns in the second half the game. At
six rank Clemson had a lightning delay late in the
first half, so they're only in the third quarter. Clemson
seven three over Georgia Tech. Also today, Number three Oklahoma
was a winner against Nebraska, sixteen Texas A and M,
and Cincinnati with victories Notre Dame and West Virginia as well.
Mountaineers led twenty seven seven late in the third quarter

(23:32):
against fifteenth ranked Virginia, Tech held on to beat the Hokeys.
Twenty one victories for Coastal Carolina and Arkansas. Michigan State
was a winner at number twenty four Miami thirty eight
seventeen Peyton Thorn of the Spartans four touchdown passes and
number twenty five, Michigan beating Northern Illinois sixty three to ten.
The Wolverines had over six hundred yards of offense, no turnovers,

(23:54):
no punts. Michigan with touchdowns on its first nine drives
of the game, as led sixty three three in the
third quarter. The Major League Baseball, the Cardinals are just
underway hosting the Padres tonight. Cards have won six in
a row, and it's the Padres and Reds that are
each a game and a half behind the Cardinals for
the last NL wild card. Philadelphia is two and a

(24:16):
half back fills out to already a one nothing first
inning lead against the Mets. Either the Cardinal home game
or the Mets home game is on your local Fox
TV station. By the way, the Angels will have the
late game hosting Oakland Shoheyotania. The Halos will pitch tomorrow.
He was scratched from pitching last night with a sore arm.
He is due to start tomorrow. With a nine and
two record on the mound. Dodgers are undefeated when Max

(24:38):
Serzer's on the mound. He won today five one at
Cincinnati with seven scoreless innings, and as far as the
race for the wild Card in the American League. The
Yankees lost at home eleven three to Cleveland. The Yanks
are now a half game behind the Blue Jays for
the final ale wild Card. Toronto beat Minnesota six to two.
Boston a nine three win against Baltimore. The Orioles record

(24:59):
now forty evan and one oh one. Mercifully, a couple
of weeks left in the regular season is all for them.
Back to you, good stuff, Steve de Sega is always
it's a little redundant to say that, but yes, well done.
As always. By the way, I got my candy bar shipment.
Shout out to you, big man. Bet paid and full.

(25:21):
That's right. You know the dynamic here, whoever is up
by three candy bars, the loser has to pay off.
We started ground zero, right, We're right back to zero again.
So I'm paid and full. And I went with the
candy bar medley this time. So I went butter Finger.
I took the advice of our producer Lee Robert to

(25:41):
lap the fourth. I went with the Milky Way highly underrated,
highly underrated. Those bars are milky Way, because that's why
that's the reaction most people have. Yeah, I just it's
just not enough crunch or anything in there for me,
it's just nugget. That's sometimes you go smooth. Yeah, it

(26:04):
was no crunching caramel though. It's just you know, I
don't always need crunch. Sometimes I like smooth. Okay, Well
you want smooth, get you a milky way. That should
be that. If you desire smooth, Yeah, get yourself a
milky way. And I went with the Snickers with almonds

(26:25):
that those are the only ones I haven't eaten yet. Yeah,
I've I've taken down everything else. You know, during a
break today, why don't you go ahead and uh just
try one, you know, let get you in the top
of the next hour. We'll see how I go. See
see what you think? You know what. That's one of
those foods where I'd be like and Bama. That will

(26:47):
stay lodged when you don't want it to be. You know,
that's where you go. If you're going for a candy
bar during a show, get you a milky way. You know,
smooth going down, nothing's gonna get stuck while you're trying
to talk. You're good to go, okay, But Snickers with
almonds could be a little bit of a different story.
But a nightcap. I could go for a Snickers with

(27:07):
almonds nightcap. How about this. I'm watching Clemson. We're almost
in the fourth quarter. They're leading Georgia Tech seven to three.
What is going on with Clemson? Like the first loss? Okay,
it's Georgia they got a lot of talent, you figure. Okay,
they're back at home against Georgia Tech. They blow it's

(27:30):
seven to three. Going on with Dabbos team over here.
There was a big rain delay too, so there's a
lot to do with it in a little steam coming
off of the air man, if you start looking at
I don't want to blow this out of proportion. But
two things. One is Clemson good enough to get to
the college football Playoff? That seemed like a ridiculous question

(27:51):
before the season started. That's a legitimate question right now.
And the other part, you don't think that right I
don't think so. And the other part is if they are,
is their schedule good enough for them to get into
the playoff? Now this is months and months away, but
I mean their schedule is cake city. I mean just cake, cake, cake,

(28:14):
cake cake, and uh, I don't know if they're squeaking by.
It's one thing if you're blowing some of these teams
out by three or four touchdowns, and you're Clemson. You've
been to the college football playoff. Even though that shouldn't
help you, in my opinion, it does because these aren't
robots voting on these teams. But man, if you're squeaking
by by one score here, one score and another game,

(28:37):
I don't know if it's gonna be good enough for
them to get in. No, because once they get to
you know, the real media now and yeah, you're right,
you know, if they win out or something like that, maybe,
but it just it doesn't send a good enough message,

(28:59):
you know what I mean? And messaging is everything in
college football ranking in playoffs, as we all know, there's
no doubt style points matter. Style points matter. That's what
George is always in at the at the at the
butt end of the well. You see teams Notre Dame,

(29:19):
they went down a couple of spots. They won, but
they barely beat Toledo and they should have dropped. But
that's the whole they after this week as well, Yeah
they might I'd probably hold probably hold still, I don't
expect to be in the top ten. Nervous at all
over there not really, not really. I'll tell you this.

(29:43):
If anybody, I don't know, if you know, stopped what
you're doing to watch the Irish host per Due today,
but if you weren't, take it from the n D fan.
Perdue got hosed on one call. It was a seven
point game. It was past interference, clear as Day yanked
him when the receiver was trying to catch them on
and they get just yanked him by the inside of

(30:05):
the show. Yeah'd be that exact play right there. The
officials were like, I didn't I thought it was clean.
They were like what They were like, what are you
guys talking about? What you talking about? What happened? And
it was the next drive Kirr and Williams had a
beautiful run for a touchdown, but that made it a
two possession game. It's crazy, you make one pass interference

(30:26):
call all of a sudden, your drive is alive, you're
at midfield, you're down by seven points. It's completely different.
Will you get a chance? You know what I mean?
You get a chance at that critical moment in the game,
and it was taken from him, and you know, you
guys benefited from it. Yeah, that was it was garbage.
But I do love the pettiness of Notre Dame not

(30:48):
allowing produce bass drum into the stadium. You hear about
that whole thing. That's beautiful, so produce celebrating the one
hundred year old drum that they have. They touted as
the world's biggest drum. It's this obnoxiously big bass drum.
It's like seven ft tall three ft wide, and Notre

(31:11):
Dame is like, wow, we have a visitor's tunnel now,
So if it doesn't fit through that visitor's tunnel, I
guess you're out of luck with your big stupid drum
over there. That's the thing all week for news tweeting
out like we want our drum here, we're celebrating, and
Notre Dames like, I don't know if you like hit

(31:31):
it really hard from the parking lot. Yeah, that's beautiful, man,
welcome to college. That should have been enough to have
them pull the upset there. Yeah, but uh yeah, it's irish.
I don't know it's gonna be a good matchup. In
a couple of weeks, Cincinnati survived against Indiana. Today, Cincinnati's

(31:53):
ranked in the top ten. So since you at n
d In a couple of weeks. That's a good matchup.
That's a big game for since to your favorite conference
against your favorite team. What's gonna happen to the A, A, C,
or as I call it the Act? Right with all
these teams leaving for the Big Twelve, are we dissolving
the Act? I mean, you know Memphis has given it

(32:16):
to Mississippi State. Man, I don't know what's happening to
that conference going forward? All right, coming up next, we've
got three young NFL quarterbacks. It's tough. I'd be a
photo finish. But how do you rank each of the three.
We'll dive into that. I'm Brian No, He's he from
salam This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian No. He's

(32:37):
he from Salam here on Fox Sports Radio. Good Lord,
that was good timing. Might need a mako for Clemson
over here. Life is throwing them up, our boy, dj U.
We put it on the ground, O young little to
begin the fourth quarter on a third and one, just
ran it and uh got hit coughed it up. Georgia

(33:02):
Tech football down by four points in the fourth quarter.
This is crazy. Let me peruse this betting line here.
Because Clemson, they were they were favored by twenty eight points,
favored by four touchdowns, are up by four points. Man,
you remember the whole It seems like ancient history right now.
But remember Dabbo Sweeney getting upset with the reporter for

(33:25):
bringing up Clemsoning where for years they would lose to
an opponent they had no business losing too. And Dabbo,
you know, he raised up a little bit and was like,
I mean, we haven't brought up Clemsoning for a long
time because they've done a lot of winning. But this
would harken back to those Clemsoning days if they found

(33:47):
a way to kick this game. Yeah, you know, when
you lose great dynamic players outside of the University of
Miami still don't know how to keep doing it. Um,
it's sometimes it's you know, it takes while. It takes
a while to get your footing back right. They got
a new signal caller. Uh, they had an all time

(34:08):
great and and Trevor and you know it just may
not flow. It may take some time. The only problem
is in college football you don't have the time. Yeah,
and it does. It shows you We just take it
for granted what Bama does. But look at Bryce Young,

(34:30):
He's playing great football to forty today. Three touchdowns and
they mentioned it towards the end of the game. It
was the drive. I believe they kicked the field goal.
This is towards the end of the game. But it's
third and three. Bryce Young just smooth, calm right. There's
thousands of people there, it's the swamp, it's packed, electric atmosphere,

(34:51):
and he's just poised. Makes a little move, moves to
his left, little three quarter Philip rivers delivery for a
first down. It's like, man, this dude looks he's been
doing it for a long time. Yeah, you know, their
practice players must be insane right now. I remember when
we first got to San Diego State and we have

(35:15):
you know, Marshall was starting at Darnay Scott did the
receiver corps was immaculate. UM. Shout out to coach Johnson
c c J, who has been the receiver coach at
the New Orleans Saints since Sean Payton has been there.
That's how good he is. UM. And so my best

(35:37):
friend Will Black. Will came from Skyline High School. He's
a freshman and we're both red shirt freshman and we
would be on scout team. Annihilated to start in defense.
Just sweet, isn't it not something? The coaches again, Oh,

(35:58):
they lose their mind when that happens. They were looking
at will like what is going on? The crazy thing is,
initially when I went to school, I was a defensive
end and a couple of offensive lineman got hurt, so
they moved myself and Kyle Turley over to scout team

(36:22):
old line. Oh man, so I was playing. I played center,
left guard, right guard, left tackle, and right tackle. That
was my day's work. I would rotate through those positions.
And our scout team offense was ferocious and and it

(36:43):
was like, I just think I hearkened to think about
what Alabama scout team offense must defense must look like
because they have talent galore, and those dudes are hungry,
they want to get on the field. Goodness, it must
be a battle out there. Yeah, it's got to be,
has to be, no doubt. That's some of those would

(37:05):
be worth televising right Like, And it's it's that, you know,
iron sharpens iron. You think about the early Miami teams
when they had all of the running backs, all the
first round running backs, gore portis um mcgahey, like all
what all on the same team. Well, we were talking

(37:27):
about just last week. Think about the picture with the
Alabama quarterbacks who are now all starting. They were there
at the same time, Like you've got what Mac Jones
might have been running the scout team when Jalen Hurts
are there right like, And I think that's why they're
so good. And that's why these kids come in and

(37:47):
they're ready to play right off because they're playing against
the starters in practice. Yeah, so other teams it's just
lesser talent, that's right. And when you find do get
your shot, it's like, man, it's a lot easier. And
I don't know if it's anywhere else like that in
the country right now in college football, No, it's not

(38:10):
at the same not at the same level. Because the
recruiting rankings speak for themselves. I'm not gonna say it's
night and day. There are a lot of other teams
that have talent. Clemson's got a lot of talent. Georgia's
got a lot of talent, but not at every position
across the board. Not enough to fill a scout team, right,
not not enough to fill a scout team. I don't Yeah,

(38:30):
I would, I would say I would go on record
and say Alabama scout team could start at the Division
one schools in the nation. They could. Yeah, a lot
of them could be starters. And I wonder if they
just they played a whole season with their scout team,
were they gonna be around five hundred or so? They're

(38:51):
gonna win some games. I know this is I think
they'd be above five hundred. I really do. It's crazy.
Your scout team should be getting every week. They'd win games,
and you're in, You're right. We would have to run
plays over and over. It is so sweet when you're
a young guy and you're climbing the ranks and you're

(39:13):
on the scout team and you're putting it on the starters.
Those coaches lose their freaking minds. We all went to
the pros. Me Kyle, uh, will Aza came uh Justin Watson,
like we all were on scout. We all went to
the pros at San Diego Stay. We all came in together.

(39:34):
Think about that, not Alabama, not Notre Dame, at San
Diego Stay, all of us came in together as freshmen
and just word, I mean we had to my junior year,
we had to with fourth rank offense, in the nation. Yeah,
it's so fun because you're not supposed to do that.
So the defense they're stressed outches again, what's going on?

(39:59):
It's beautiful. It is beautiful touchdowns. They were like, wait,
what the deep visits designed to stop the play man?
Kevin mckickney was our quarterback. To shout out to Kevin Man,
Sacramentos Own. I would love to frame those moments, man,

(40:20):
if you could run those back. Those are sweet days,
all right. Coming up next, we get to the three
young NFL quarterbacks. It's tough, it's tough to break these down,
but how do you rank each of these three? Fox

underway Auburn leading Penn State and they're early going three. Nothing.

(41:29):
We still have, Man, what was the total here in
this Clemson game? If you took the under fifty two
and a half points Clemson versus Georgia Tech. He already
catched that ticket. It's seven to three with about ten
minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Yeah, that's money
going right there. Yeah that is who baby, We're not
even close we have We're six touchdowns away from from

(41:54):
being close to the over right And saw um who
was that against Tulsa? I mean Ohio State. Just it
was like with like three minutes left and you know
it's seven points. I was like, wait a minute, what happened?

(42:15):
I know they got the uh and the he was
during the Alabama game they had a game break and
it's like look out Tulsas right there, They've cut it
to seven again. And then I blinked and I'm like, okay,
literally happened, and like I was like, oh okay, well
that's Ohio State was like that'll be enough and that

(42:36):
so we will keep you updated. If anything that you
need to know, you will know it. Clemson Georgia Tech.
Ten minutes to go in the fourth, Clemson holding onto
a seven to three lead. Right now, crazy, All right,
let's get to this. We turn our attention to the NFL.
I was thinking about a couple of young gun quarterbacks.
I wanted to throw this at use. We could kick

(42:57):
it around here. Which QB would you put ahead in
this pack? This trio? So you've got a former m
v P and Lamar Jackson, You've got Kyler Murray who's
in his third season, and then you also have a
year two justin Herbert. So between those three and I

(43:19):
think of it not just in one, but I'm thinking
long term. Think of it almost as a stock. Right,
are you buying the most stock in Herbert, we'll say,
for the next decade or do you go elsewhere? Do
you go with the playmaking the dual threat with Kyler
with Lamar Jackson, I'll give you first DIBs the most

(43:44):
stock in Herbert you are. I love you some, Herbert.
This kicking ball, he can this kicking play period. It's
no And and the thing with Kyler Murray is I'm
not quite sure who he's going to be. Right. He's
very small and he's brittle. Right. I love Lamar Jackson,

(44:11):
but as we saw Sunday Night football, what was it Monday?
Was it Monday? Was it Sunday night Monday? It was Monday.
What we saw was he's exposed. He exposes himself too much.
He does right like he got built into it. He
got you know, made into a taco his head. It

(44:36):
was bad. It was bad. You know. So if we're
talking long term investment, yeah, I gotta look and be like,
you know, I need you to be available. Yeah. And
I love his abilities to throw. I love his abilities
to create play. I mean some of the things he
were doing, I was like, this is unreal. But for me,

(45:00):
long term investment wise, I'm going just at Herbert. Okay,
you go, Herbert. How do you break it down between
Kyler and Lamar? That's the only thing I would flip.
I would go Herbert Kyler Lamar because although we have
seen Kyler, he was banged up half the year last
and that impacted the team big time. So we've seen

(45:23):
him suffer injuries, but Lamar just takes more chances. It's
dynamic though, I get it right, But it's just just
his personality. Right. Remember the video where he's flipping over
a sea. Do remember that? It's like, dude, I think
a lot of young kids and I'm not calling him
a young kid. I'm just saying a lot of young kids.

(45:44):
He is. He's a kid, he really is. I don't
know if you grew up like this I did, and
a lot of young kids. Do you think you're invincible?
You think that you are incapable of getting injured with
anything you do, and at some point it dawns on you,
Oh that was just in my head. That's not a
real thing. I'm totally capable of being injured. He behaves

(46:07):
as if he has that mentality of like I'm unbreakable,
and that's not gonna last in the NFL. Man, No,
that's gonna be tough to continue. Like he he definitely
has to um to to to change his approach. I'll say,

(46:27):
because I mean, once he started tucking that ball. As
we saw Monday night, they're coming out. I mean they're
they're coming to dislodge his soul from his body. No
longer no longer protected in the pocket. Uh. Once you
get out and you become a runner. So that that's
my thing, and and just for I'll take his upside

(46:50):
over Kyler's. He's already been an m VP of the league.
I'll take that, and that's why I have him at
two UM. And we're just still trying to figure out
just how good Kyler can be. We know how good
Lamar can be. Mm hmm, yeah, I look at I
think it's real close between Kyler and Lamar. I like
that Kyler doesn't take as many chances. He'll run and

(47:12):
I love that. I love the dual threat ability. But
he'll slide. He'll do a lot more rush. He's got
a lot of baseball and what is a baseball player?
But that five nine I just see, Yeah, I know,
I know it, I get it. Yeah, I just also
look at Look. I don't want to take anything away
from Lamar's MVP season. He was dynamic that year. They

(47:32):
won fourteen games, but that's typically the way it goes right,
you could have a really good season for a team
that isn't close to fourteen wins, and you're probably not
gonna be m v P. Like that's that's just how
it is. I don't think that Kyler is behind Lamar.
I think that Kyler is ahead of Lamar right now.
I would take him in front of Lamar. Lamar was

(47:53):
dead last in passing last year. That like the Ravens
passing offense was dead last. And I know they have
a philosophy and I know that prioritize the run. I
get all of that. You can't be dead last in
passing as an offense. That's embarrassing. Yeah, it is. Um.
You gotta also have some weapons to throw on the
ball too as well. So you know, unless you're Tom

(48:13):
Brady and you can manufacture talent on the outside, then
I mean something. You got to give him something, right, Yes, yes,
fair enough, But I'm not Mark Andrew is a good
tight end. Okay, you just named the tight end. Look
at the Look at what's going on in Arizona. The

(48:35):
receiver position over there. Oh, it's it's an embarrassment of rage.
Come on, when they got last year, it was like Okay,
all right, it's much different. What do you think Lamar
could do with DeAndre Hopkins. I mean he could have
more success for sure, of course, of course he could.
But I'm not asking for the Ravens with what they

(48:56):
have around Lamar to be top five, to be top ten.
I'm saying you gotta be better than dead last. Right,
You're right, That's all I'm saying. I understand that you're right. Yeah, Okay,
if it's just this year, forget about ten years in
the future. Just does that change anything when you look
at Herbert Kyler Lamar, No, not for me. Yeah, I

(49:19):
would keep the same order. Just Herbert's real deal now
thirty one touchdown passes as a rookie behind the battle line, Yeah,
he's a real deal. This kid can go. Just his
first game was it in Kansas City where they were
just like, hey, you're gonna play. Yeah, He's like, oh
it heads cool. He was over there after taking every

(49:40):
single rep of scout team and they were like you
gotta get out here and play, and he came out
and he showed up. Yeah. By the way, speaking of
the opposite of showing up, how about the Jacks with
old Urban Meyer over there. How about the timing the
Jags get worked by the Texans and then the USC

(50:03):
job is vacant. And that's what Urban has asked this
this week and all of that, and he he shot
it down. Of course, he asked you. He has to say, no,
no chance, not gonna do. I know he'd want to
take it down. I know he's just like, it's a
little bit different. Do you think he's one and done
in Jacksonville? I and we talked about this in the summer.

(50:23):
I just think it's too big for now. Granted, their
roster is terrible, but this just might not be what
he thought it was gonna be. It's tough, man, It's tough.
I mean, you got your quarterback, but that's it. You

(50:46):
got a pretty good undrafted, uh last year running back
who who shocked the world. Your first round draft pick
running back is done for the season. I mean, what
do you have defensively? And it's the crazy thing is

(51:08):
it's just much more real in the moment. You know,
I don't know what a comparison would be. It's not
even close to what Urbans going through. But if you
buy a car and you're like, okay, the payments are whatever,
x amount per month and you're like, I can swing that.
I think that's gonna be okay. Man, When that first
payment comes around and then you're like, wait, I gotta

(51:29):
do this again the next month, it becomes a lot
more real. Right. I bought a car, well, my goofy.
But and that fifty two hunted a month car payment.

(51:51):
Oh man, I had three I had three houses, who
in my in my who mum. Monthly mortgages on three
houses was less than that car payment, right, And you're
like when you first got it, you're like, I'm like,
this is fled, this is this, this is everything, the

(52:16):
dumbest thing I've ever done. And then it becomes time
and it was like you know automatic, right, it was
it was, It was it withdraw Just take it out.
I don't even want to see it. That's where urban
Meyer is because he knew. He knew that they weren't

(52:37):
going to go twelve and five. Man, it takes a
while to get used to now. Right, he knew they
weren't gonna win twelve third team games. This was gonna
be a process. But man, it became real. They get
the first pick in the draft again, they might and
look at what he did in college. This is obscene.

(52:58):
His college record is one and thirty two. The death nuts.
The thing about the thing about the NFL is if
you're in a market like Jacksonville, you gotta hit on
every draft pick. That's the only way you can build
a winning team. You got a hit on every draft pick.

(53:22):
Are you have to overpay free agents? Jacksonville is not
a place where guys wanted to They didn't want to go,
So just having that, like in college you can recruit,
you can do all these things, but in the pros

(53:43):
there's a structure, like there's a salary cap, their draft placements,
they're all these things. The only way and this goes
your scouting department, you know, your ownership, all of these things.

(54:03):
It matters. It matters like how you build your team.
You got over and draft well, yeah, no, there's no doubt.
I think he stays for another year. Bomba put it
at stays too goes. He's just not used to this man,
And it's gonna be tough. It's going it's going to

(54:24):
get worse, bro, it can only get worse. They got
smoked by the Texans, Texas and too what was it
seven to the Texans? Good lord, where's it gonna go
from here? They got the Broncos they wanted to playoff team.
They got the Cardinals they wanted to playoff team. They

(54:46):
got the Bengals, they want to playoff team. Right, first
four games, no playoff teams. If you can't beat them,
then you have the tightens, the Dolphins who didn't make
the playoffs but one eleven games, the Seahawks, the Bills,

(55:07):
the Coats, the forty Niners who are we won't even
count their last year? Yeah right? And where is the
where is the where's the justice? Where's the breath? M
where's your reprieve? It is like coming. We'll see how

(55:27):
it goes, man, But uh, it's gonna be a long
like this is gonna feel like five years in one year.
Oh absolutely for Urban Meyer, no doubt. All right, coming
up next Pop Quiz and the crew that's feeling like
small potatoes. I'm Brian no Easy from Salam. This is
Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no Easy from Salam here

(55:49):
on Fox Sports Radio. I'm just trying to think of
the outfit of choice during this era. You know, I
think you had to have some wet hair. I think
that really tight very androgynous. M uh you know, and leather. Yeah,

(56:11):
I got some leather and some tight leather to loose
tight leave nipple on the radio like a nipple piercing Yeah,
I think you could go there pretty sure. Yeah nips.
Men and men have nipples too, so it's not that's
right they do. Yeah, it's tastefully done, you know. Hoop

(56:32):
or like stud right on through? What are we doing there? Whoops?
Got to be a hoop would have beat it would
have beat in the hoop. What are we talking about?
We are crazy? We are okay. So I got a
pop quiz for you, big man. Pop quiz. So here
it is Big Ben. He's got a chance to be
in some esteemed company over here. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

(56:55):
He needs three passing touchdowns to reach the four hundred
touchdown club, So he would be the eight NFL player
with four hundred passing touchdowns? Right, he needs three of them?
Pop quiz? Can you name the other seven in the
four hundred club? Here? Mm hmmm, yes, I got faith

(57:22):
in you, Breeze, that's correct. Brady Brady number one, Yes, man, yep,
your boy who you overrate, But don't let me get
you off track. First of all, watch your mouth. Okay, um,

(57:44):
we're gonna go with I wanta give it away, but
our producer might be staring you. No, no, no, I
I got you, I got you a beginning. Wait wait
wait Rogers, that's right, yeah, Rogers the seventh. Rogers says,

(58:08):
four twelve. Let's go with yep, five fourth, So how
many of that? What is it? What we need? Two more?
Two more? Let's go four touchdown passing club. Let's go
with Marino. That's right, yes, my guy. You know most
people were like you gotta remember, uh, like damn, Marino

(58:35):
was the standard. He didn't win any championships, but in
terms of the passing completion touchdowns, he used to be
the standard. And four and twenty touchdown passing that was
that was number one for a long time. Yeah, and
we got one more, one more. It's tough. This one

(58:55):
is kind of sneak up on you. Mm hmmm mm hmm. Yeah.
I want to go Joe Montana. No, no, Joe was
not even in the three. Well no, because they didn't
pass the ball like that. I was just thinking that

(59:17):
Jerry Rice connection and and you know, they were doing
things that you know, if Jerry Rice played today, Oh gosh,
she was putting up numbers back then. No one's even
close to catching Jerry Rice, not even almost close, not
even so. Um let me see m M. You know what.

(59:45):
I don't think I have it. I um, you want
to phone a friend here, Wait a minute, let me
phone a friend. Yeah, I want to. I want to.
I want to phone a very own m Steve, okay, alright,
Steve the Sager, you have been paged over here. Second.

(01:00:08):
I was thinking, it's got to be somebody who's had
a very because you're saying it's not likely. It's not
a name you would come up with. But therefore it's
somebody who's played like at least fifteen years, you know,
like Vinnie Testaverdie has numbers because he had a very
long career. But since he asked for me specifically, I'll
guess Philip Rivers, that is correct. And you know what
I was like, Philip, Yeah, that's right. How about this,

(01:00:31):
Philip Rivers with one more touchdown pass in his career
than Dan Marino. Oh he was twenty five touchdown passes
seemingly every year. Yeah. Yeah, he's he's he could throw,
he could sling. It now, Yeah, there you go. There's
the list. So big Ben with three touchdown passes, he
would join that club. That's a pretty good club. That's yeah,

(01:00:51):
that's an amazing club. That's almost the first ballot club.
I don't know if he'll he'll he'll be there, well,
I don't know, Yeah, Phil, I don't. I don't think
so he'll be there, But I don't know if he's
first ballot. Right, I was thinking you were saying big Ben, no, no, no, no, no,
we I mean the two Super Bowls puts him in
the first ballot. He already, no doubt, really the only

(01:01:11):
one that you would have the potential, at least the
old old school quarterbacks. Right, we're talking Aaron Rodgers, Big Ben,
Matt Ryan. He's right around three hundred fifty touchdown passes.
But really the only threat to get to the five
hundred touchdown club is Aaron Rodgers, because Big Bend this
could be his last year. And I don't see Matt

(01:01:35):
Ryan get into five hunds. Where is Brady? How many
does he have? He's nearing six hundred? Like Brady's at
what eight? Five? Good Lord world? With Peyton Manny, Peyton's
at five thirty nine. You want to talk about prolific
throwers of the football, I mean, where's Breeze. Breeze is

(01:01:57):
number two. Breeze has five seven D one. So those
are the four quarterbacks the five hundred touchdown club. You
got Brady Breeze, Peyton Farve. That's it. Four players in
the five hundred touchdown club. Many. I love it. By

(01:02:20):
the way, what happened to the Packers last week? My goodness? Well,
I lost my first I lost my my my matchup
in in in and fantasy football because of Aaron Rodgers.
I lost literally three picks against you because of Aaron Rodgers.
It was it was that was that was bad. That

(01:02:40):
was my favorite bet all week, Like you kidding me?
Packers on a neutral field against the Saints who now
have Jamison. No, Michael Thomas, I love the Packers and
they forgot to show that was brutal alright, someone who
was obviously the stone cold opposite of brutal stone co

(01:03:03):
That would be the gold standard in this industry. It
would he would be how could I say this? He
would be what others aspired to. We call him a
spire that's basically is one of his many nicknames. It
is the great Steve to Seger, literally a spire point
he had there. For By the way, you need to

(01:03:27):
ask producer Lee how he lost the first week. I
was fantishy fall because, oh yeah, what happened there? Lee?
What happened in fantasy football. I'll try and make this short,
but there was actually a stat correction last night that
got corrected again. I lost by less than a point.
I also had Rogers with negative points. And in this league,
they don't count sacks against you nor you know when

(01:03:50):
whenever Lamar Jackson goes gets sacked, they just counted as
a run his opponents in the same game, justin Tucker.
So Tucker has this late field goal and he thinks,
so it I'm gonna lose by three, and then Lamar
Jackson fumbles in overtime. It goes overtime. Was like, well,
if he throws an interception or fumble, I guess I
could win this game. Well, he fumbles, but they don't

(01:04:10):
count the sack, so I still lost my half a point. Man,
It's only week one, and that's what fantasy does to you.
Right there? That killed man. I was like, what I
mean that far Rogers? Oh yeah, Uh, yeah, well it
kind of engineered the five. It just made me think

(01:04:33):
of Paula, why do you even ponder passing? At this point,
Clemson is leading Georgia Tech fourteen to six with a
minute nineteen to go. This game is still going because
there was a lightning delay late in the first half,
about thirty seconds left in the first half, so they
had a long delay, players were sent off. When they
came back, they finished the thirty seconds of the first
half and then played the second half. Now mercifully, one

(01:04:54):
nineteen left in the game. Georgia Tech's just score, but
their down eight, so on site kick coming up. Unlike
the NFL rules of the on site kick college, of course,
you actually have a mediocre chance of recovering it. So
they got the high hop on the kick and they've
just recovered it on the sideline. I don't believe that
Georgia Tech, with the ball down eight and a chance
to maybe ti Clemson on this final drive, they should

(01:05:17):
do what that high school team did, right. You kick
it straight in front of you ten yards and you
just create a massive humanity and try and recover it. Yeah,
I think it's your best shot. It's like the start
to an Olympic water polo game. They just put the
ball in the middle of the pool, everybody goes after
it exactly. Number four Oregon had a weather delay at
the start, so they're still in the first quarter and

(01:05:39):
hosting and leading stony Brook now ten nothing. Penn State
at home, lead seven three over Auburn early second quarter
and about five minutes left in the second quarter. At
number two ranked Georgia, it's the Bulldogs twenty one to
six over South Carolina. Twenty one ranked North Carolina leads
Virginia one to seven early second quarter and a weather
delay at seventeenth ranked Old Miss not yet underway, hosting

(01:06:01):
two lane tonight. Victories already today for Iowa and Texas
A and M in the top ten. Elsewhere, Notre Dame
and West Virginia got wins West Virginia B fifteenth rank
Virginia Tech twenty one. It was a twenty seven to
seven lead late in the third quarter. Number sixteen Coastal
Carolina won twenty five at Buffalo. Victories for Arkansas, Michigan

(01:06:24):
and Michigan State, which one at twenty four rank Miami
thirty eight, seventeen. But the big game course in the morning,
we had the number three Oklahoma beating Nebraska sixteen and
then they're dead to me here, that's what I hear.
But man Nebraska one for three on field goal attempts
and had an extra point kick blocked and returned for two.

(01:06:45):
So you add all that, they lost by seven points.
It's just it's ridiculous. Number One Alabama one at eleventh
rank Florida thirty one to twenty nine. Florida quarterback Emery
Jones on the ground nineteen carries seventy seven yards in
a score. Quarter Back Anthony Richardson did not play for
the Gators hamstring injury, and then they show a clip
him with doing a back flip on the field before

(01:07:07):
the game. So yeah, I guess the hamstring was just awful.
Alabama's won seventeen games in a row, by the way,
and counting Florida State meanwhile as oh and three after
losing it Wake Force thirty five fourteen today and Western
Michigan won at pitt one pit one at Tennessee last week,
and Mississippi State loss today to Memphis thirty one to nine.

(01:07:31):
Let's update with a couple of weeks left in the
baseball season, the Cardinals home game. They are losing to
the San Diego Padres to nothing in the bottom of
the fourth with Adam Wayne right on the mountain. He's
given up a couple of RBI singles in this inning.
And you mentioned the four hundred touchdown passing club. Three
thousand strikeouts got a new member in Baseball max chers

(01:07:52):
this past right, Steve. That's less than twenty pitchers in
all of baseball history have gotten to three thousand strikeouts.
And amazing for sures like Justin Verlander, for example, He's
gotten to three thousand strikeouts in about three thousand innings.
Sures are it's three thousand strikeouts in two thousand, five
hundred innings. And then he kept going pitching for the

(01:08:13):
Dodgers today, seven scoreless innings, seven more strikeouts. Dodgers won
five to one at Cincinnati. The Dodgers are undefeated when
Shures or pitches for them since the trade. In the
American League, Toronto and Boston each one at home, but
the Yankees did not. Cleveland beat the Yankees in New
York eleven three, so the Yanks now a half game
behind the Blue Jays for the final a LE wild card.
Next up by the way for three thousand strikeouts. Uh,

(01:08:35):
since Mike Messina got close and never got to it.
You've got Zack Granky also in about twenty eight hundred.
So if Greg Zack Greggy plays another full year, that's
a chance he gets in. Clayton Kershaw's about three hundred
fifty strikeouts away, so a couple of seasons away if
he keeps going. Those are the two that are closest
of any current pictures. Back to good stuff. I'm Brian

(01:08:57):
now Easy from salam here on Box Sports Radio. Yeah,
Georgia Tech still has Life down by eight points, only
six points scored. Though they're done by eight, but they've
only scored six. It doesn't mode will so if they
can score more on this tribe than they have the
whole game, they got a shot, but they still have

(01:09:19):
the ball. Third and ten, just over a minute to go.
Did you catch the Peyton and Eli telecast on Monday
Night Football? Oh? It was a lot of fun. I
highly recommend it. They're gonna do it ten times this year,
and it'll be this week in the next week. You
know what, I love the brothers. I love Cooper, I

(01:09:40):
love of Eli and Peyton. Did you watch over the
Summer College Bowl. We're I've never seen that. No, I
know what you're talking about, but I haven't seen it.
Peyton Manny is the host with his brother, and it
was just great. It was fun. It was it was Goody.

(01:10:01):
He's got a good little thing going they have. They
have a good little relationship. Yeah. I thought the telecast
was really a lot of fun because it was a
good mix. It was sort of like inside the NBA
the Studio show with Barkley and Shack and they have
a great blend of laughing, right, and they take it
to another level. Those guys, that's the gold standard. But

(01:10:22):
then they give you the substance also, and so that's
what you got with the Monday night telecast. I just
feel I mean, it's all relative, but I feel for
the main crew because they gotta feel like small potatoes
right now, right like Steve Levy, Brian Greasy, Lewis Riddick,
that's the main crew, and all they're doing ESP is
just pushing like catch Peyton and Eli. Like that would

(01:10:44):
be like CBS having another telecast when Jim Nanson Tony
Romo are doing a game. They would never do that,
right or Sunday Night Football with Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth. Like,
that's what ESPN is doing right now. Well, they know
that Monday night lineup isn't strong exactly, so they want

(01:11:06):
to give people options. They're smart. It's and who knows,
maybe they'll back up the bring stroke for the Maiden
Manning Brothers next year. Who knows that they would gladly
do that if that could be the new booth, right,
you just have the Brothers as the color comment would
be great. That's a lot of fun I highly suggested, Uh,

(01:11:29):
this Monday Night, there's some funny moments. Travis Kelsey didn't
know they were playing the the Ravens this week. That
was funny. He's like, what do we have the Chargers? Oh? No,
we got the Ravens right, we got the rape My bad,
we got That was a funny moment. He accidentally cussed
on the air. That was good. Ray Lewis was on
the program. He was tremendous just hearing Peyton Manning and

(01:11:50):
ray Lewis talking strategy. It was before halftime. It was great.
I was nerding out with all that stuff. It was
really well done. And the helmet that didn't fit Peyton.
It was all good. It's very good. Yeah. How about
the Indianapolis Colts gonna be featured on Hard Knocks during

(01:12:10):
the season, the first in season Hard Knocks. Yeah, so
this will debut November. An episode will air every Wednesday,
and it's just keeping up with the season, right, it's current.
So man, I don't know how they swung that because

(01:12:30):
every year you have certain exemptions, right, if you have
a new head coach, if you've made the playoffs either
of the past two years, like, you don't have to
be on Hard Knocks. And most of these teams avoid
it like the plague. And then all of a sudden,
the culture like, yes, we'll do in season. I caught
me by surprise. I think that'll be fun. Yeah, I'll

(01:12:56):
tell you what. The getting a look in the what
happens during the week of a regular season, it's going
to be eye opening for people, It really is, because
there's a difference. It it there's definitely a difference, and
you know it's it's it's not like training camp. It's
not like the the inside look we've gotten with Hard

(01:13:18):
Knocks doing training camp. It's not right. Yeah, those meetings
land a lot differently. You know film sessions. Everything counts
and everything matters. Oh and that's the thing, all or nothing.
That's the Amazon Prime video series. But those episodes come
out the following summer, so they'll do it during the

(01:13:40):
season summertime. Right, it's not the week of right, so
that would be different with hard knocks. Should be a
lot of fun. By the way, Third and goal for
Georgia Tech as they're at the Clemson three yard line
left unbelievable. Again, Clemson's favored by four touch downs here

(01:14:01):
they're clinging to their eight point lead with Georgia Tech
knocking on the door. So we'll keep you updated on
that when as we come down the stretch. Alright, coming
up next week one. Not the greatest of predictions for
the big man in myself, but that's what they make
week two for it's the real Big three coming up.
I'm Brian No, he's he from Salam. This is Fox

(01:14:22):
Sports Radio. I'm Brian No, He's he from Salam Here
on Fox Sports Radio. Clemson survives, They get it done.
So it was fourth and goal from the three yard line.
Not a bad play called by Georgia Tech. Little option

(01:14:42):
passed to the middle right there just snuffed out by Clemson,
and they were saying it's a safety, so hold on
just yet. I think, uh, you know, I'm like, actually
at the third quarter right now, I'm streaming this online.
So Clemson's up fourteen to eight, so barrowing some crazy

(01:15:04):
razzle dazzle, Clemson will hold on. But it was a
great defense by Clemson on that fourth and goal play.
I don't hate the play called by Georgia Tech. Just
a little a little option passed to the middle of
the line right there, just kind of like a little
shovel pass, if you will. And uh, it was snuffed
out by Clemson. Good job by them. Yeah, And this

(01:15:28):
is you know this, this call is gonna be interesting
if they keep this. I don't see how that's a safety.
I think that's a terrible call. It's a fumble and
recovery in the end zone, which would mean that's a touchdown.
Oh I see, well yeah, Clemson, Okay, I see. That

(01:15:52):
would have been a disaster. Yeah, So that's what they're
looking at it to read a fumble recovery in the
end zone by Clemson, which is the safety, and they
still have to do a free kick which could be
run back. Let's just be honest. Anything It's very unlikely,
but anything is possible. All that to say this is

(01:16:15):
not I mean, this is not playoff championship caliber football
by Clemson. This might be I don't know sometimes when
you have access access to the results. But dude, just quarterback,
sneak that thing forward, take a knee, go forward. You
have Clemson. It was a shotgun snap and d j

(01:16:36):
u We hands it off to the running back. He
gets stuffed and fumbles in the process. It's like, bro,
why are we allergic being under center? You're at your
own one under center. Sneak forward. These kids can't even
take the snap though, Like, they can't even take the snap,
So you don't want to fumble that way because they

(01:16:57):
don't do it. Wow, remember too couldn't when he got
to the boat. They was like, take the snap from
the center. Why what do you mean by that footwork? Right?
I mean five step drops. So what you want me
to do is the center hands me the ball. So

(01:17:18):
it is a safety call confirmed, it's a safety. Seven
seconds left. They have to free kick the ball. Georgia
Tech has an opportunity to either call fair catch and
down it or running back. I just go razzled, dazzled

(01:17:39):
by the way. We've seen this a couple of times
in college today. It was um, just your last gasp. Right.
It happened in the Oklahoma game. Nebraska has the ball
fourth and forever and you're like, I don't know, five
yards away from a game tying touchdown and they complete

(01:18:00):
the past or whatever. The first guy who had the ball,
he just allowed himself to be tackled. You'd be better
off just Kareem at bul jabbar ing that thing twenty
yards behind your head blindly, then going down with the
ball right, like, keep the ball alive. That's your only
chance to tie the score. I hate when teams do

(01:18:22):
that and we have the kick. Oh he wants to
run offensive play? One offensive play for Georgia Tech. This
is where they shine. Is it about telling you what?
I'm coming on? Glued? If they run I don't know,

(01:18:43):
like a ten yard pass and the first dude who
catches the ball just gets tackled and doesn't throw the
ball behind, what are we doing? Oh gosh? I hate
that drives me insane. Give yourself a chance. Yeah, that's
the only way you can. Tennessee taught us that Music

(01:19:06):
City miracle that's right. Yeah, Yeah, Miami had a razzled
down and play against North Carolina. Yeah, it's happened before
the band is on the field. Like if the first
guy to get hit just went down with the ball.
We don't have that. We don't have the tuba guy
getting ran over. That is just that's college football, right there. Man,

(01:19:32):
Come on, that is beautiful. Kid me all right, I'm
gonna say they pick ups and get night on the
first down. That was terrible going nowhere. He'd be better
off them running of fake screen, the entire line going

(01:19:58):
out the other direct and in the quarterback just running
the ball behind every single person on the field. Think, well,
you just create like a wedge and just run down
the field. It's like a convoy. Yeah, Like I would
hand the ball off to our our our speediest guy. Yeah,

(01:20:24):
that was terrible. The only hand I just go razzle dazzle.
I go strictly, Hey, get what you can get, and
if you're close to getting tackled, throw it to someone
who's behind you. But if you're about to get tackled,
even if no one's behind you, even if you're throwing
it to nothing but green grass, it's better than going
down with the football. Just keep the ball alive. That

(01:20:47):
is the main thing you have to do, and hopefully
we get lucky and gain some yards in the process.
That's it, that's what we're doing. Yeah. So first down
was just an incomplete pass by Georgia Tech. And then
second down rolled to the left, the quarterback picked up
about ten yards and threw a jump pass behind him

(01:21:09):
that was deflected. Nothing was set up, no one knew
what to do. I mean, goodness gracious, give yourselves a chance.
That would have been better off trying to run it
back on the kick off. Yeah, let's do that. That's

(01:21:29):
what I was saying. Go razzle dazzle from the return.
And even you know you had enough time, like seven seconds.
It's a risk, right if you're returning it, you might
run out of time. But I would go razzle dazzle
with that, and maybe if a guy didn't throw the
ball behind him, you luck out and you get one play.

(01:21:50):
But in any event, Clemson survives again as twenty eight
point favorites. They win fourteen to eight and keep the
season alive for the time being. Okay, we get to
the Big Three next hour. Also, the statement that has
totally been taken out of context, we dive in next.

(01:22:11):
You know, big man, all I gotta say is you
better bring it in the big three this week because
I'm smelling three and oh. No, baby, I have spelled
it is. It's got three and oh written all over
Week two for me, even though I was one in
two last week? What was no? You were one and two? Also? Yeah? Yeah,

(01:22:33):
you had the Chiefs covering against the Browns and they
didn't came close, but they won by four conversion. Yeah.
How about this. By the way, I'm gonna get to
some crazy stats in a little while. But one of
the crazy stats the Chiefs are now just eight and

(01:22:54):
twelve against the spread since winning the Super Bowl two
seasons ago. That's crazy, stay off of them. Yeah. And
the other one was you went with Chicago plus the
eight points against the Rams. Yeah, so we both went
one and two. We're deadlocked with sub five records. Garbage. Yeah,

(01:23:15):
but we will, we will roar. You know, they haven't
heard the last of us. This is where we come
back and we shine in everything. I'm looking forward to
this week, you know, I think this is the week
where I I make some headway. Yeah, yeah, what's the
order going to be by the way, first this you

(01:23:36):
go first this week. I went first last week and
we had a tie wreck. Like normally, person who wins
the week is to go first, and next week okay,
all right, but since we both were suboptimal and and
I went first last week, okay, I like that. We're
gonna do this momentarily, but let's pay this off first.
Because Tom Brady, he was on with Rob Kowski. This

(01:24:00):
is Tommy and Gronky. Alright, it's on Buccaneers dot com
and they're sitting around answering some questions, the most asked
questions on the internet, and this is the one that
caught everybody's attention in the sports world. He listened to
the question. Of course Tom's response, here we go. Can
Tom Brady play until fifty years old? Wow? Seems to

(01:24:24):
be a really hot question lately. Can Tom Brady played
a fifty that's six more years? I think? I mean,
I don't find it so difficult. And Plus, in the
Florida it's kind of a retiree state, So I feel
like I can play and then just glide into retirement.
I think I can. I think it's yes. Okay. The
way I look at this, we can't take this out

(01:24:47):
of context. And all I've heard all week is just, oh,
Tom thinks you can play until he's fifty, and we're
often running. It's like, hold on, pump the brakes for
a second. Look at the set around the they're in
like lawn chairs, they've got a little pool. They're wearing

(01:25:08):
these broad out sunglasses. That's not a serious answer by
Tom Brady. Why are we acting like he was dead serious?
You know what I took from that. I didn't even
pay attention to the answer because I know it was
tongue in cheek. I took away that neither one of
these guys would have ever been able to do this

(01:25:28):
in New England. Yeah, their head against the wall the
whole time. That's what resonated with me, Like, look how
much fun these guys are having. And I know, winning
Super Bowls are fun and grunt got to do things
that most people didn't get a chance to do in
New England. Um, but Tom Brady, after twenty years of

(01:25:50):
being pent up and all that, all that repression in
terms of personality, he is living his best life at
forty four years in the NFL. He doesn't want it
to end anytime soon. Yeah, hey, that's but if you
really pay attention to the answer, he's like, fifty, I
don't think it's that hard. Like just time out right there.

(01:26:13):
Do you think that Tom Brady really thinks it's not
that hard? Of course, of course he knows what his
body feels like. He knows right like it may not
be evident in his play yet, but his body, like you,
he knows what his his Monday, his Monday, Tuesday wins.
He knows what that feels like. Now, granted he hasn't

(01:26:35):
been getting jostled around a lot, but around week eight,
week nine, they've had some tough opponents. He's had some
pressure put on him. He's been hit a couple of times.
He had that knee injury all last year. Your body
doesn't recover, it just doesn't. So you know that that
tends to to start weighing on you. And then the
arm strength goes and when it goes, it goes fast.
And everything that he does to prepare for a season. Right,

(01:26:59):
there's a Subway ad where we're joking around about him
not eating bread. It's a great at but he's got
the strict regiment. It's not like Brady is like, yeah,
I still feel like I'm twenty four and I'm still
eating hamburgers and sugar galore and I'm not doing anything.
As for his body maintenance, there's a lot that goes

(01:27:19):
into it. So I just I thought this whole week
of breath. Doesn't think it's hard to play? You know
what this is like? This is like at the championship celebration,
you just want a national championship or you want a
super Bowl. You won the NBA Championship, and you get
up there and you're like, we're gonna do it next
year and the next year, and we're gonna win five

(01:27:39):
maybe eight championships in a row. What what now? And
we never take that seriously because it isn't serious. Remember
Lebron not four. That was the only time we took
it seriously. Yeah, okay to to undone, But man, I

(01:28:01):
don't know. I just thought we were often running and
we totally forgot to consider the context. He wasn't even
being serious. Now this is the other part one other
follow up question from Gronk. Check this one out. Well,
do Sell let Tom play until fifty? That's the real question.
That is a way better question. And in fact, why

(01:28:21):
would they not google that I think they should that.
Of course. No, I'm I'm sorry, baby, I love you.
You would let me, you'd let me do anything as
long as I'm happy. Yeah, had a couple of survesas
they having a good old time. Oh man, they that's

(01:28:44):
the that's a great point. Tom Brady doesn't want it
to end. No, this is the He's having the time
of his life right now. He is all the talent.
It's too much talent. He didn't even use Mike Evans yet. Yeah,
and look, one thing, the only thing I want to
add to the Patriot Days is that it was a grind.

(01:29:05):
It was a process. It was serious. But you know
what fun is winning, and they did a lot of it.
So this idea like there's no fun in New England,
fun isn't allowed. Winning is the ultimate fund. I don't
want to hear that it's not fun in New England
while Tom Brady was there. It's not the ultimate personality

(01:29:29):
experience though, right, Like totally winning super Bowls is fun.
It's the most fun you can have. But outside of football,
there is fun to be at right, being able to
win and not you know, express yourself, I should say,

(01:29:49):
I mean, that's that's awful. It is, But put it
this way, to think about this. Remember Lane Johnson and
I know you remember with the Eagles and he and
the Eagles won their Super Bowl. He was like, we
have fun here. I wouldn't want to be in New
England and win multiple championships and not have fun. I'd
rather be here in Philly. So really just look at

(01:30:11):
this Brady in New England, Lane Johnson and Philly are
just like at Patriots Eagles, right, which was more fun?
Just fun. It's New England by a landslide, because and
one was fun last year. It was it was you know,

(01:30:31):
there was truth to Lane Johnson's you know what he
said right now? Of course there's also yeah, right, any
anyone who plays football professionally as a coach, a GM,
an owner, a player wants multiple championships. That's just what
it is. But there is something to be said about it,

(01:30:54):
just you know. I mean, it's it's not for every one.
I'll say that. Hey, I hear you. I love this
new Tom Brady. I hate it Tom Brady until last year,
but I think it's important for Tom Brady. Oh it was.
He was having a lot of fun. It was a

(01:31:15):
different dude. I can hang out with this this guy,
I can hang out with this guy. Maybe not the
Patriots some things. Yeah, well you air air? What air? Yeah?
You never have liked that with the flate gate. But
just real fast, think of it this way, because we
just look at the Patriots instead of comparing the Patriots

(01:31:37):
to another team, think of some of these other teams
that had great success but it wasn't as long lasting. Okay,
the Ravens they want a super Bowl with Joe Flacco.
What they do after that? Nothing? How about the Broncos
they want Super Bowl fifty. What have they done after that? Nothing?
Not even make the playoffs? The Eagle they want a

(01:32:00):
super Bowl? What have they done after nothing? Like that's
not fun at all. I would much rather be in
the Patriots, you know, I'd rather be a Patriots player
and it's dead serious and we might not have as
many laughs and we're all about our business and win
instead of hey, we're a little bit more relaxed. Here,

(01:32:23):
we're with the Broncos, we're having some fun with the Eagles,
and wow, what do you know, we're sub five hundred.
Now this sucks like that's you got to compare the
Patriots to other teams that won Super Bowls and stopped winning.
The Patriots are having more fun than all those franchises. Yeah,
I mean they got six championships. Man, it's amazing. It's

(01:32:44):
crazy when you break it down like that. The opponent
for the for Tampa tomorrow, the Atlanta Falcons not out
of the gate strongly after they got worked by the
Eagles thirty two to six. This is Matt Ryan. Listen
to Matt Ryan on facing a Tom Brady lead team again.

(01:33:05):
Of course we want to win this. He's not gonna
make up for that. Like you know, it's it's one
of those things. It's as a part of your past,
as part of what happened, you know, but it's got
no bearing on this week. Yeah, of course, Matt Ryan's
referencing the Super Bowl loss to the Patriots when the
Falcons had the three lead. You know, here's the thing.

(01:33:26):
I think we've had these legacy conversations so much that
if you hear the word legacy, you just kind of
bristle like, oh gosh, like you almost got electrocuted, Like
oh yo, Like I don't want to hear legacy talk.
But to me, it's not about that that trigger word
it's like, what are you known for? And if you

(01:33:47):
think of Matt Ryan, he's a former m v P.
He's had a lot of success. He's thrown for a
lot of yards, he's thrown for a lot of touchdowns.
But what is he known for, whether it's fair or not.
He is known for not winning the Super Bowl when
they had three lead, like Tom Brady ruined his legacy. Yes,

(01:34:10):
what he has known for primarily is that game. That's
what it is, and it's not all on him. It
is that was a team meltdown with the Falcons losing
that Super Bowl. You know who's the innocent bystandard, it's

(01:34:32):
Kyle Shanahan electing to throw it instead of settling for
a field call that would have won the game. Like
we're just still we're hammering Matt Ryan and we don't
even talk about Kyle Shannon. Was terrible time you took
your ego in your back pocket. Yeah, yeah, that didn't

(01:34:53):
work out very well. But we'll see big three right
around the corner. Could the big end go with Tampa
It's a big point spread, a lot of points to lay,
or do you go underdog city? Huh? No, one sees
it to be the Ultimate rise up from the Atlanta Falcons.
Huh thirteen and a half point dogs. We'll make our

(01:35:14):
three picks against the spread, and we will also get
to some crazy stats team and player wise. Stay tuned
for that as well. I'm Brian no Heasy from salam

this is one of your favorite go to bands from
what album is this? Though? I don't know. I like that.
You just hit me with honesty right there. Yeah. Yeah,

(01:35:59):
you're just honing in on the Big three. Huh. But
the people playing at home, I guess it was a
bit of a trick question, even though it's unintentional. This
song is the title of the album that was Seasons
in the Abyss. If you're playing at home, you might
want to I don't know, you know, I don't want to.
I don't want to program your your car ride home,

(01:36:20):
you know, what you'll listen to. But maybe you pop
on some seasons in the abyss. I don't know, you
know what, Let me do that. Yeah, all right, let's
get right into it. We were both one and two
last week. It was a trash week for us. We
want to at least be in the money, right, You
gotta at least have a winning record to be in
the money. Two and one. Three and oh is perfect, obviously,

(01:36:43):
that's the gold standard. But two and one is really
the goal. We're both one and two unacceptable, So we're
looking to rebound. Here. I get first DIBs this week. Okay,
my first pick. Here's the deal. I hate for this
to seem like it's an overreaction to last week, because
that's like a that's kind of like the way that uh,

(01:37:07):
your average Joe bets, Like, hey, it happened last week,
it's gonna happen this week, right, But it's less about
that and more about the matchup. I'm gonna take Arizona
minus four. I'm gonna take the Arizona Cardinals minus four
at home against the Vikings. And we know what happened
last week. Arizona was magnificent against the Titans and the
Vikings lost against the Bengals, But really it's about that

(01:37:32):
Vikings old line got worked by Cincinnati and we saw
what Chandler Jones did. I just don't trust that Minnesota
offensive line. And right, like, the standard line is your
favorite by three at home? So Arizona minus four at home.
You're telling me they're one point better basically than the Vikings.
I'll take that all day. Give me Arizona minus four. Okay,

(01:37:55):
that's a good pi Um. I think I am going
to take the broncos Oh man, why are you taking
the I'm taking the broncos Um because I mean, Jacksonville

(01:38:17):
is really bad, let's be honest. And the line is
what uh six, I'm I'm taking that, Like, I just
I am not confident and them putting a product out

(01:38:38):
there that I just they just look bad. I'm sorry.
I mean, I don't want to be disparaging that. I
know they're working hard and all that. They got a
lot of you know, they got a lot of problems,
a lot of holes. Yeah. I like that pick. That
was actually gonna be my next pick. So hey, I
like how we're doing the Big three this year. That
pick is off the board, baby, the board yeah, but

(01:38:59):
then for it's got a real defense. That was a
guard touchdown at the end against the Giants. Like they
held the Giants to seven points. Yeah they were, and
the Texans rolled the jack. So yeah, I would take
the same pick. I like that by you. But that's
off the board. So I'm gonna turn my attention to
I don't know that you're gonna agree with me on

(01:39:19):
this one. That's fine. I am going to take the
Chicago Bears. That's right. There are two point favorites at
home against the Bengals. Like, here's the deal, the Bears.
I know there's all this talk about Andy Dalton. I'm
not sitting here telling you he's awesome, But the Bears
were a playoff team last year with Mitch Robinski and

(01:39:40):
Nick Fools. Okay, they both were trash last season. The
Bears got into the playoffs. They've got at least a
decent defense, serviceable. David Montgomery did this thing last week.
And for all these people clamoring for Justin Field, it's

(01:40:01):
not illegal to make a change midway through this game.
You might see Justin fields more in this game than
Andy Dalton. Who knows, But give me the Bears. I
think they are a better team. They played a better
opponent last week playing the Rams. The Rams are one
of the best defenses in football. The Bengals don't, so
I think the Bears are completely overlooked in this one.

(01:40:21):
I will happily lay the two and go with Chicago.
That's a that's a dicey one. It's a little dicey.
That's a dicey one. Um. I am taking the Bills
their minus minus three Buffalo over Miami over your Dolphins
minus three and a half favorites over over the Dolphins

(01:40:45):
in Miami. I just think, you know, Buffalo is going
to bounce back in the worst way. And I think
they are going to punish division rifle punish huh yeah,
smack around. Yeah. And I was I was looking at

(01:41:07):
this line and I'm like, wow, that's a mine is
three huh. Okay, they gave him a you know, point
five edge, you know what I mean, Like like, okay,
all right, let's see. Yeah, you know it's a good pick.
You know, it's a good pick. Hot in Miami. It's

(01:41:28):
a good pig. It's not used to that. But they're
not used to that Miami. Here, it's hot. Buffalo too,
it's not Miami hot. There's nowhere Miami hut a different
kind of hot over there. By the way, I take
my quarter I take that quarterback over your quarterback any day, though.
So there you have it. M Well, hey, who is
the better week one quarterback to a You know, I'm right,

(01:41:53):
Josh Allen was bad last week. Now the Steelers have
an elite defense. But will Josh Allen be bad two
weeks in a row and Miami does not have an
elite defense? What's that kid's name? Uh? Oh? But what's
it the do your defensive end names having a field
day last week? Good lord? Oh, I don't know who

(01:42:17):
you're talking about. I mean you think a guy would
know his his team? Oh yeah, that's why I just
what I said, Yeah, Manuel, Now all of a sudden,
you know, oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah. I wasn't
sure at first. Sorry, my bad. Okay, my last pick.

(01:42:39):
This shows you you gotta come prepared with four. You know,
you gotta have four in case the other person takes
one of yours. You know, But that's okay. I can
do things on the fly. Over here, I am going
to look at and some people might look at this
is gross because uh, they did not look good at

(01:43:00):
all last week. I am looking at the Tennessee Titans. Okay,
they are six and a half point dogs on the
road against Seattle. Seattle looked good. Russell Wilson did his
thing through a bunch of touchdown passes. At four touchdown
passes and five incompletions, that's ridiculous. But I look at Tennessee.

(01:43:20):
It was just a disaster last week. I don't look
at Seattle's pass rush being as good. They don't have
anybody that's as good, nearly as good as Chandler Jones,
and he did the most damage last week. I think
the Tennessee offense is better this week. I think Derrick
Henry gets going, and Seattle is not a team that
routinely blows opponents out. These are normally one possession games,

(01:43:41):
so I think it's gonna be a close one. I'll
take the six and a half with the Titans this week. Okay,
that's a good pick. That's a good pick. I'm looking
at this alliance for naw, I'm just kidding, may man,
if you laugh, but plus twelve that might be the
right side in that matchup. Yeah, you're right, you're right.

(01:44:03):
What I think I'm gonna go a different direction. Okay,
I think I'm going I think you know what, I'm
looking at this Texans Browns game. Okay, and I the
Texans surprised me. There two two touchdown dogs against the Browns,

(01:44:31):
and I'm like, hm, right, like, I'm like, I mean,
the Texas were formidable. But then I realized that they
were playing the Jacksonville Jaguars, and so now I'm like, WHOA, Okay,
well we don't know what that is. So I'm gonna
go Niners. Yeah, two and a half two and a

(01:44:54):
half point favorite of the Eagles. Yeah, I don't I
like it. I just I don't know what it is.
I've been burned too many times with those small favorites
on the road. But I do really like that pick.
I like it. Um. I don't like Jason Varette the
corner going down. He's done for the season. But is
Jalen Hurts gonna like pass on you all day and
exploit that matchup? I don't know. I don't know about that,

(01:45:16):
but I certainly think San fran is the stronger team,
and I think the Eagles might be overvalued a little
bit because they were such a surprise in Week one.
I think that's a good pick by you. I gotta
tell you, outside of your Buffalo pick, You've done good
work here, big man. Outside of that Buffalo pick. See
how it goes? All right? You know what? No, No,

(01:45:42):
do you know what? Oh? I know what? When you
when it comes to picking things, there's only one guy
I'd ever picked for updates, all right, and this is
a man who I mean he is the first pick
in the draft. He is a first round draft pick
in any league. Right if he was playing, I'd pick

(01:46:04):
him because he'd be the favorite. And that's our very
own Stephen P. Gentlemen. We'll get to all the lesser
college football games in a moment. But the Mighty Aztecs
of San Diego State have scored two touchdowns coming out
of the halftime break and lead you to ten with
four minutes to go third quarter. San Diego State clearly

(01:46:26):
ready to go three and oh on the season. Meanwhile,
Texas is up thirty to nothing on Rice late in
the second quarter and final minute before halftime. Stanford is
now up fourteen at Vanderbilt. This is the Stanford team
that killed USC recently. Sc today if you saw trailed
at Washington State fourteen nothing late in the first step,

(01:46:47):
but one fourteen with a backup quarterback. And then there
was a Bama at Florida game. Yes Bama one again.
That's seventeen straight victories. They led twenty one three at
Florida after the first quarter three touchdown passes on the
first three drives for Bryce Young. Final score Alabama thirty
one nine. The Gators missed an extra point in the
second quarter and were stopped on a two point try

(01:47:09):
with about three minutes left in the game. Number two
Georgia leads thirty three six over South Carolina in the
third quarter. Fourth ranked Oregon with a halftime lead against
Stony Brook of seventeen seven, halftime at number ten Penn
State Nitney Lyons fourteen to ten over number twenty two Auburn,
and halftime at number twenty one North Carolina. Virginia scores

(01:47:30):
three tds in the second quarter to take the lead
at the break, twenty four at the tar Heels in
Virginia's quarterback just in the first half, Brendan Armstrong one
twenty seven, three hundred sixty four yards passing and three touchdowns.
Still a weather delay at the start at number seventeen
Old miss but they are due to kick off in
the next fifteen minutes or so, hosting two lane. Among

(01:47:52):
the earlier winners Oklahoma and Iowa, Texas, A and m
and Cincinnati. Tonight, Number six Clemson at a game that
was had a light thing delayed a couple of hours
late first half. Eventually in a five hour game, you
could say fourteen to eight. The final over Georgia Tech
and number nine Ohio State led Tulsa twenty with three
and a half minutes to go, Buck guys forty one

(01:48:13):
to twenty. The final trebe On Henderson twenty three carries
two hundred seventy yards and three touchdowns. Wins for Notre
Dame and Coastal Carolina, wins for Arkansas and Michigan. Michigan
State one at Miami thirty eight seventeen, Peyton Thorne third,
four touchdown passes, and West Virginia held on to beat
number fifteen Virginia Tech twenty seven to twenty one. NASCAR's

(01:48:35):
at Bristol tonight, and they're at the halfway point, Kyle
Larson in the lead, Denny Hamlin running second, Brad Keselowski
is third. The Patriots of elevated kicker Nick Folk to
the active roster, the Texans elevated kicker Joey Sly, and
New Orleans will be missing eight assistant coaches now tomorrow
due to COVID protocols. Saints are playing Sunday at Carolina

(01:48:56):
and the Baseball Update. With only a couple of weeks
left in the regular seat season, there are a couple
of games on Fox TV right now, depending on your
area of the country. It is the Phillies leading to
one at the Mets in the top of the seventh inning.
Also Brewers tied with the Cubs three three, bottom of
the sixth and at St. Louis bottom of the seventh inning,
Cardinals still being shut out by the Padres to nothing,

(01:49:20):
and by you Darvish who has six scoreless innings with
nine strikeouts. Darvish has had literally seven awful starts the
last couple of months. Is the Ras over four for
the season, mowing them down tonight. Meanwhile, the Padres got
a couple of RBI singles in the fourth thought Adam
Wayne Right, his night is done. A good night yet again,
six innings but down to nothing. Adam Wayne Right at

(01:49:41):
age forty, age forty is sixteen and seven and his
the r a two point eight nine very impressive. Dodgers
one earlier back to you. This is a got time, Steve.
We got about what like fifteen games to go. Correct,
everybody will be ending with game time starting at the
same time son Day, October three, two weeks from tomorrow.

(01:50:02):
Seventh straight year they've done that. The final day everybody
starts at about three pm Eastern time, and currently the
Padres and Reds are a game and a half behind
the Cardinals for the last NL wild card. In other words,
to see who goes to Dodger Stadium, perhaps for the
wild card game. By the way, I'll just tell you this,
Steve Andy from be prepared for tears galore. Whoever is

(01:50:25):
the wild card between the Giants and Dodgers, that team
is gonna win what a hundred and five games somewhere
like that. I think the Dodgers are at ninety two
weeks to go. But if they are one and done,
can you imagine this format sucks change? Oh, it's gonna
be uh oh, you talk about buckets of tears if

(01:50:46):
that happens. Currently, Dodgers game and a half in the division,
standings behind the Giants. There's still a possibility they finished
tied in the West standings and have to have a
one game playoff the next day to see who has
to go to the one game while and who gets
to sit and wait and then start hosting a best
of five. That's crazy to me, Like, you gotta have
a tiebreaker, good lord, if you have to, you play

(01:51:09):
a hundred and sixty two games. Think about the NFL
they've got. If tiebreaker one doesn't work, well, we'll go
to tiebreaker too. If that isn't world, go to three
and four and five and six and seven eight, and
we'll flip a coin if we have to. That's the
way the NFL does it. MLB should do the same
thing if you've got a play off wild card game anyway, Brian,
though he's e from salam here on Fox Sports Radio,

(01:51:29):
I've got some crazy stats for you here, big man. Now,
I want you to rank it on the Big Man
stat rancor okay, one to ten, ten being like ludicrous
crazy all right? In terms of it being a surprise
or something wild, Okay, pretty easy concept. How much does
this surprise you or how crazy do you think this is?

(01:51:52):
The New Orleans Saints. They are looking for their first
two and oh start since, right, they've gone thirteen and
three the last couple of years. That blows me away.
What do you give that that? WHOA? Yeah, I wouldn't.

(01:52:15):
I would have never thought that. Yeah, I'm gonna go high.
I'm gonna give that a. I'm gonna give it a
nine and a half. Yeah, that's that's shocking. With all
the winning they've done. I can't believe the last time
they started too and oh was that's six straight years
they haven't started off two and oh. Isn't a good

(01:52:35):
week to try to do that when no coaches are available? Yeah,
that's true NFL game with no coaches, it is very
hard and no Marshawn Lattimore. So we'll see if Sam
Donald can take advantage of that with the Panthers in
the Saints tea in it up tomorrow. How about this one?
Where is this one? Rank on of scale from one
to ten? The Cowboys are looking to avoid their first

(01:53:00):
oh and to start since no that did that did?
That's that's very low. That makes sense. But you know what,
because they've done a lot of losing, right, so you
would think that they would have started off oh and
two some season since, right, But they haven't they they've

(01:53:23):
started off at least one and oh or one in
one or two and oh. Well, you know teams with
losing records have easier schedules. Yeah, that all plays into it. Okay,
how about um? This one is wild? So Teddy Bridgewater.
He is the eleventh quarterback to start for the Broncos

(01:53:48):
since Peyton Manning retired after the season. They've had eleven
starters since. Wow, isn't that that's wild to me? All right? Now,
you know this team has done a lot of losing,
but still the Browns are oh and one for a

(01:54:11):
seventeenth straight year. They've lost their season openers seventeen straight times.
Good lord, I mean, come on man, that's good Lord.
I mentioned this. Yeah, the Chiefs, they're eight and twelve
against the spread with all the winning they've done, they're

(01:54:33):
only eight and twelve against the spread since winning the
Super Bowl against the forty Niners and the last one
for you with the crazy stats over here. So we've
got the Patriots. It's rookie versus rookie, It's Mac versus Zach.
It's Mac Jones for the Patriots. Zack Wilson for the Jets. Now,
the last time that a rookie quarterback beat the Patriots,

(01:54:57):
I'll give you a hint to to that was last
year in Week fifteen. The Patriots were nine and oh
in their previous nine such games facing rookie quarterbacks. But
you know, leave it to the chosen one to buck
the trend over there, the chosen one. I'm just trying

(01:55:19):
to LaVar ball this thing. They were choosing to try
to trade him for Deshaun Watson. Yeah, yeah, Well, Deshawn's better.
I get that. That's not the greatest sign of their
confidence in two up, but at least he was better
than those rookie quarterbacks who tend to fall to Bill

(01:55:41):
Belichick coach teams. So we'll see. You've got the Patriots.
They are favored by six points on the road against
the Jets. So we'll see Mac and Zach starting. What
it's crazy, right, think about that? How quickly things change.
It was Brady versus whoever name your a f C
starter of choice, and now it's two rookie quarterbacks between

(01:56:04):
the Patriots and Jets. That's hey, welcome to right, all right,
we've got a lot of the funnier things from the
week that caught our attention. So I'll have some fun
with that before we get on out of here. I'm
Brian no Easy from Salam This is Fox Sports Radio.
I'm Brian no Easy from Salam here on Fox Sports Radio,

(01:56:28):
getting ready for Week two. It's a tasty slate of games. Tasty.
You know what one game we haven't talked about, Rams
at the Colts. Have you seen the Colts schedule coming
up here? My lord? Okay, so we know that they
lost to the Seahawks and then they have the Rams
after that at the Titans. Break really, listen to you

(01:56:53):
at the Titans at the Dolphins at the Ravens on
Monday night. What's the record gonna be after their first
five games? There will be one in four four? Yea
one in four. Get that Dolphin win, man. Listen to
you so disparaging here anti dolphin rhetoric. I hear you.

(01:57:16):
And I started off with San Diego State. You close
it with the Dolphins. That's that's how we go, right,
we go after each other. We're like brothers like that. Now,
some of the funnier things of the week. Did you
see Kawai Leonard in utter disgust with the band playing right,
they had the Little Clippers pep rally breaking ground for

(01:57:40):
the new arena that's gonna open. You want to talk
about missing the mark, Kawhi letter just given the deaths
there at this band, he is not feeling at all.
It was one of the funnier things I've seen all weeks.
I mean, whoever was in charge of the entertainment for that,
they can they dropped it on. They specialized in missing

(01:58:05):
the mark, that is true. How about this Jason Kelsey
Eagle Center, he lost a bet and had to dye
his hair blonde. What was the bet he lost? Well,
he bet that his teammate Zach Ertz was gonna be
traded before the start of the season, and of course

(01:58:26):
he was wrong, which he was happy about. He's glad
he lost the bet, but he's rocking out the blonde hair.
It's a much different look for you know, the brother
of Travis Kelsey and you know those Sunday night intros
around Christmas time. Jason Kelsey is the guy dark hair
like thick beard, longer hair and sometimes it were the
Santa Claus hat like. He's just dark hair everywhere. He's

(01:58:49):
he's rocking blonde. Looks a lot different right now. Now,
have you not just money, but have you lost a
bet where he had to do something crazy off the wall? No,
you haven't know any of those type of bets. I
make sure I win. Make sure you have. You want
a bet where the loser had to do something crazy?

(01:59:10):
What's the craziest thing the loser had to do? My cousin,
we were playing one on one basketball, uh to eleven.
He was talking so much trash. This is when I
was playing. I was like a week off the coming
off the football season and uh it was actually the
week after the Super Bowl, my rookie year. And he
was just talking so much trash about you know, you
don't whop no more youth football, and I was, you know,

(01:59:34):
and I had enough. So we went to the gym.
The bet was I had just brought a brand new corvette.
The bet was, I'll give you my carvette for the
weekend and two thousand dollars spending cash m and if
you lose, you have to go. It's a junior college
close to where we were living. It's called Consumers River College.

(01:59:54):
You have to go up to Consumers River College and
jog around the track and nothing but g stray, I
mean a jockstrap. Nothing but a jockstrap. And so we
went to the twenty four fitness and proceeded to play
one on one and he was talking so much trash
and the score was six to zero. He was winning,

(02:00:16):
and he just was just like and I was just like, okay,
And the final score was eleven to six. Yes, I
went on in eleven old run and we drove right
over to the to the UH, to the field and
watch him get undressed and put a jock strap on.

(02:00:38):
And that's when we realized the first time that his
uh nipples were pierced. We didn't know that. That is
that where the reference from earlier tonight came from full circle.
We didn't needn't know that anybody in our crew went
got down like that. Uh. And so yeah, I I
didn't you know I was going to give up a

(02:01:00):
brand new car in two thousand dollars spending cash man,
That is funny. I think you could have gotten more stuff.
I don't think that's an equal train. But I knew
I was gonna with it. It didn't matter, it didn't matter.
I knew. And we videotaped and we have that forever,
so you know, that's all. It's not so much about
the months. Pretty good for me, you know, that's pretty
good now if you have the video footage, that's forever.

(02:01:24):
And this is it was no camera phones. We had
a real video camera. Yeah, the cam corder and everything
for that all right now, it's always entertaining to me.
I don't know how you feel about Bill Belichick talking
about whether he cares about social media or not. Of
course we all know the answer, but to hear him articulated,
here you go, here's the coach. I don't really know

(02:01:45):
or care anything about social media. I don't even know
what's out there, isn't out there, So that's the irrelevant
to me. We played football before there was social media
and didn't matter that either. I think anytime you have
a team that we all rely on each other, well
