Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Oh what's going on everybody?
Hope you're enjoying your Saturday evening. You know me, big man,
it's a new new approach here. I start off with positivity. Huh.
How about Kenneth Walker, the third of Michigan State just
running wild on the Wolverines. We'll dive into that, but

(00:23):
first off, how are you doing this evening, big Man?
How are you? I'm great. I just want to break
the news to you before we get into it, because
I do a very early morning show here on Fox
Sports Radio with Andy Furman. I will most likely be
sleeping during the San Diego State game this evening. It's
a late kickoff, you know. I just want to let
you know that I probably be snoozing when the Aztecs

(00:46):
are in a you know, sixteen to thirteen dog fight
later tonight with Fresno State. That's just disrespectful. I'll be
awake for the Irish, you know, Irish would be blamed
during most of the show, but I will not catch
the entire game most likely. I just wanted I gotta
work in the morning, man, you know, I gotta get

(01:07):
some sleep. I mean gotta get a little sleep. Gotta
be well rested for a full day of ball tomorrow
and hopefully rested up to watch my three picks against
the spread heads up against you all win. I am
freaking do when it comes to that. So we will
look forward to that a little bit later in the show.

(01:28):
But let's circle back to this Michigan State win. I
think that's the biggest story so far today is Michigan State.
They erase a sixteen point deficit as Kenneth Walker, he
scored five touchdowns. You look at the stat line, it's
video game type stuff. Twenty three rushes one hundred ninety

(01:49):
seven yards five t vs. Michigan had him sixteen point lead.
You just gotta hold onto the ball, close them out.
I'll tell you this, Walk God, Senior in in junior
are proud. That's right, Walker Senior and junor are proud
because the third good Lord, I know. It as a

(02:13):
heck of a performance in a huge game. And it
looked like Andrell Anthony, the Michigan freshman wide receiver he
was going to be the start of the game. Had
the ninety three yard touchdown catch early in the game,
had another touchdown catch, so he caught six passes for
a hundred and fifty five yards and two scores. And

(02:35):
as it turns out, he's a footnote in this game
because Michigan blows the lead and Kenneth Walker he is
the absolute star of this game and another costly loss
for Michigan and Jim Harbaugh. Jim Harball loses to Sparty
for a second straight year. Under Mel Tucker, we always
talked about Jim Harball beating Ohio State. You gotta freaking

(02:56):
beat Michigan State first, Right, he's three and nine a uh,
Michigan State in Ohio State. That's not That's not what
they brought you there for. They've reduced your salary, that's right.
The next step is to reduce your role, which means
you and your khakis can go somewhere else. Yeah. Yeah,

(03:17):
it's it's a little awkward right now, isn't it. Where
I don't know if this is the same thing as
a relationship where you know, you guys are starting to
break up a little bit and you don't do everything
the way you used to do it. You know, it's like, yeah,
you just you go to Vegas without me on Friday,
that sort of thing, you know, like it seems a
little bit like that's where Michigan and Jim Harbaugh are.

(03:41):
They were on track, but man to blow a sixteen
point lead and to lose the first game of the
season when I mean, look, we've talked about it a lot,
big man. The landscape of the college football playoff, it's
wide open. It's Georgia who is clearly the cream of
the crop so far. Bama is still a tough out.
And then you can make an argument for gosh, eight

(04:04):
to ten teams to sneak into one of those playoff spots.
And Michigan wasn't that territory. They're not there now, No
that they That was a pivotal game. And we filled
them last night and we talked about this game, uh
and the importance of it. Uh not last night night

(04:28):
before last, about hardball and and what he needs to do.
Yesterday I filled in for the odd couple, had a
chance to talk to Braylon Netwards, a good friend of mine,
and he talked about the importance how important this game
was to to to Jim Harball and in Michigan. And

(04:49):
he's not happy right now. Neither are are the Big
Blue Faithful, the boosters, the President, the Dean no one's
had be because I mean you you're oh and six
against top ten opponents on the road, you're oh and nine.

(05:11):
I believe you know it. Just you're not doing enough.
Now you can steam roll the Gimmis on your schedule.
The Western Michigan's, the Northern Illinois, the Rutgers, the Nebraska,

(05:35):
the Wisconsins, the Northwesterns. But the Michigan States and the
Ohio States, those are the two that really matter. And
I think about all that talk with the little brother
and right absolute, So Michigan lost to its little brother.

(05:56):
That's how they've characterized Michigan State. That that stings even
more man, yeah, and and and it puts them in
a position now where there's no chance for them to
play for the big the Big ten championship. It's bad,
it's bad loss. You think of Taylor Lawan. This is
uh Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lawan, Michigan grad. This is

(06:20):
a little bit before the game, him calling a shot
against sparty. Michigan State is our little brother, all right, Like, yeah,
that doesn't land well now in Michigan State has this
big comeback. Also, this from Taylor Lauan mission State is
going to get daunted at home. Right, words are words
are good before games, they're great. But looking at this

(06:43):
and you know the only their only hope is from
Michigan State to drop the ball. Right. They got Ohio
State and then they got Penn State back to back
the Michigan Michigan has to win out which includes Ohio
State the last game of the year for them in
order to have a chance to play for the big championship.
So it's no longer in their hands. And that very

(07:05):
rarely works out for a team that needs other people
to falter or do something to help them. Yeah, it's brutal.
And the musical quarterbacks that came back to bite them.
There was a costly fumble, the backup quarterback goes in
there more of a runner. There was obviously a costly
pick that ended the game. So the musical quarterbacks it

(07:28):
worked at times earlier in the game and then came
back to royally bite them at the end. Now, while
we're sticking with the Big ten and talking about disappointing
top ten teams, how about the Iowa Hawkeyes over here?
You just run down. I don't know if Iowa Sam
is in here or is that is that Garth from
Wayne Sure Garth? Way, Wayne, are you dressed up his

(07:56):
Wayne tonight? That's awesome. It doesn't matter because Iowa can't
score more than seven points. How how are you feeling
about that? I mean just, I mean, I feel it out.
Brian Farrens is the offensive coordinator for Kirk Ferns, and
the offense has always sort of looked the same under

(08:17):
Kirk Ferrens. But I feel like, man, this year, they're
like a hundred and twenty out of what hundred and
twenty nine teams? It's terrible. I mean, it's the putrid.
They gained a hundred and fifty six total yards today. Okay,
but let me top that. Go back to seen when
they came off a rolling of Ohio State. They had
sixty six total yards the next week at Wisconsin and

(08:38):
they were shut out on offense outside of two picks
sixes by one of their corners. Uh, that was a
thirty eight to fourteen game, but it was really thirty
eight nothing if you don't count those pick sixes. So
Iowa seems to come up come out of a really
big game with a stinker, but they've now put two
stinkers in a row. So what I take out of
this big man is with Iowa Sam recalling these games
with such great detail. I'm worried about the rest of

(09:01):
his evening after seeing what he saw today. Yeah, we
gotta keep an eye on him, man. Yeah, I'm just
looking for this Fresno State San Diego State game. I
really am. I know you are, Yeah, because I love
I love that, you know, it's late game out here
and gives me something to watch and get my mind
off the Iowa suck guys. Yeah, ok, all right, you know, yeah,

(09:24):
We've said it before. This Top ten largely booty booty,
booty booty. We got suspect teams, we got through, gazy teams, fools,
gold teams. We got a bunch of teams posing as
Top ten squads, and they're really they're by default, you know, Michigan.
They give away a game. Iowa gets rolled by an
unranked Wisconsin team, smacked around, right, You typically don't see

(09:49):
it to that degree. What they think. I think Wisconsin
was favored in that game. They knew something that we didn't. Vegas.
Vegas knew they had the inside track something else to
that bears watching Georgia, so they crushed Florida thirty four

(10:09):
to seven. But the quarterback situations. Stets In Bennett great quarterback,
name right there. Stetson Bennett not the greatest performance through
for a touchdown and two interceptions, two really bad decisions.
And this has gotten a lot of talk. Is, hey,
do you go back with J. T. Daniels instead of
Stetson Bennett. I think you do. I think they're going

(10:33):
to need a little bit more of a shot in
the arm offensively. And some of the decisions from Stetson
Bennett today they're just brutal. You can't be doing that
when the competition is much better. Yeah, you gotta be
locked in, especially at the quarterback position. Um. You know
the thing that Georgia has is that defense is crazy. Man,

(10:53):
Oh they are. I was watching them out there and
I'm like, they're ready for the league. These are fashional
athletes out here. Yeah. Uh. They are stingy, they are honree,
they are angry, and no matter what Stepson Bennett does,

(11:14):
they're not gonna allow teams to score. I mean they
gave up finally a score in the fourth quarter when
the game was warl out of hand. I'm sure there
was some red shirt freshman's playing. You know, they got everybody,
and everybody gets the piece. Everybody gets to have some
fun today. And so not too long ago, Florida was
ranked right, yeah, now we have Dan Mullen Alabama, didn't

(11:38):
they Yeah now yeah, right yeah, Now Florida is two
and four in the SEC. They went from almost beating
Obama if their kicker could hit an extra point, right yeah, yeah,
and now they're two and foreign conference play. That that
that that pendulum swings, doesn't It wet? Things wings wide

(12:01):
and fast, especially in that conference. You know when you
have one of those oh we were close, we were
right there, could have one, maybe should have won, and
then you blink and it's like, yeah, we're too and
for a conference play. Now it happens like that. Man,
it's crazy. Alright, lots to get to college ball. Week
eight of the NFL. I'll tell you what, big man,

(12:24):
I've got pie charts, bar graphs, you know, depth charts.
If there's any type of chart that can help me
pick three games against the spread accurately. I need to
gain some ground. I'm already down by four games against you. Hey,
we'll we'll talk about that. We got plenty of time
all right, don't try to soften the blow. I just said.

(12:47):
Segment comes, we'll we'll lay into it. Okay, don't you're
doing you're trying to soften the blow a little bit.
No extensive research, extensive I'm showering with, you know, like
bar graph in my other hand. Right, they're just studying it, alright. Alright,
can the Eagles? Can they cover three and a half
a shadow roll with the Lions? You know that sort
of deal. So we'll see if the homework is paid off.

(13:08):
Coming up next, the one thing that can't happen happened,
we'll explain. I'm Brian though he's e from Salam. This

arena on Earth. Planning your trip today at Las Vegas.
Visit Las Vegas dot com. Now Iowa Sam, who is
with us right now for the first hour technical producer.
You know, die hard Iowa Hawkeyes fan. They took it
on the chin today, you know. I I give him

(14:18):
credit because that's, of course the Wisconsin tradition. Wisconsin beat
down Iowa today. And of course at the end of
the third quarter they throw on the house of pain music.
They jump around, it's their tradition. You would think a
normal technical directory wouldn't go near that song. It hurts
too badly. Not Iowa Sam. Iowa Sam has show first

(14:39):
feelings next. Yeah, I mean listen, I I don't. I'm
a graduate of that university and I do like it
when they win. But I will never shy away from criticism. Yeah,
there it is from you gotta you gotta face it. Yeah,
you can't run from it. No, just makes it worse,

(14:59):
it it does. We're getting ready for a Game four
of the World Series tonight, and I mentioned in passing.
The one thing that can't happen happened. The one thing
that can't happen for the Astros with the cheating scandal
a few years ago is for them to not generate
any offense in a World Series game like I don't

(15:22):
know last night, when they scored zero runs on two hits,
because it's low hanging for the first thing you're gonna
think of is, oh, what do you know? It's hard
to hit the ball and score runs where you're not
banging on trash cans and cheating your way to a title.
I mean, that's what I think most people would think
when they can't generate any offense like they did last night. Yeah,

(15:44):
you open yourself to all kinds of stuff when when
you just can't seem to do it yourself. Yeah yeah, yeah,
that was not a not a good showing last night.
But I'm I'm curious what you think about this. I
was filling in last night as well. You know, I
wasn't in. Were you in with Brussard or was it

(16:06):
Rob Park? Okay, now Rob, he's not on my list
because I filled in with Rob twice. I have not
filled in with Chris Chris Brusard my former I know,
my former tag team partner. The role of decks of
fill in hosts, there had to have been a good
I would ballpark it sixty hosts maybe roughly. I think

(16:29):
Chris as Curtains are on the fill in list higher
than me. I think that's what's going on. But I'm
sure you had a lot of fun with Rob last
night and he's great. Yeah, they are, except for Chris
because he doesn't invite me on the show, you know.
But anyway, um I mentioned last night filling in that

(16:53):
two things. One, the Astros are excellent for baseball because
they give you someone to active lee root against. Unless
you're a diehard Astros fan, I don't see why you're
not pulling for the Braves, right. The Astros cheated blatantly
and didn't pay the price. Yeah, I think everybody in
baseball who's not an Astro fan it's just cheering for Yeah, uh,

(17:18):
the Braves. They're the villains of the sports world, the
Astros are. But it's great for baseball because you're invested, right,
you care. If you don't have that cheating scandal, you
might not even be watching some of these World Series games.
But it gives you a reason to tune in, right
to be entertained. Now, the other part of this is

(17:39):
curious what you think about it. I thought while watching
the game last night and jose Al Tove is getting
booed their channing, cheater, cheater, cheat or all that, and
I just I paused for a second. I'm like, if
MLB could magically just snap the fingers and make the
entire cheating scandal go away, would they do that? We're

(18:03):
just never existed, and would they? Would that mean they
snap their finger in that trophy goes away too? No, well,
we don't know how it would have gone down. When
you're cheating at something then you win, the assumption is, yeah,

(18:25):
I had to cheat to win. So if you snap
your fingers and the cheating goes away, does the wind
go away? It might? But what does MLB really care? Right,
Let's just say there's no cheating and the Dodgers win
that World Series? Okay, right? Like, I don't know what
what MLB really cares one way or the other as
far as that goes. But I think that when it

(18:48):
comes to the cheating scandal four Major League Baseball, it
was a mixed bag. There was obviously some bad that
came with that, and I thought MLB fumbled quite a bit.
Rob Man for is calling it a piece of metal
talking about the trophy. That was a misstep. There's a
misstep not to suspend any of the players, so they
might have changed some of those things that they had

(19:10):
to do it all over again. But I really think
there's a lot of good that came out of that scandal.
Like again, you've got the villains of the sports world,
and when it comes to having a reason to tune
in and if you're actively rooting against the team, that's
ultimately good for MLB. I don't know that they would
if they could magically wipe it away. I'm not sure

(19:32):
they would do needs a villain he helps right. NFL
had two Patriots for a long time, the NBA had
the Celtics for a long time. UH MLB as uh
the UM Houston as the Astros. And of course I

(19:56):
would have loved to see the Dodgers in this this spot.
What you know, it would have been a nice uh
rematch mussy TV. Can you imagine, just for a second,
if the Dodgers are in the World Series and in
Game three the Astros score no runs on two hits.

(20:20):
Can you just imagine the conversation right like you already know.
Oh yeah, we're reliving you know that that World series
a few years ago that the Astros one heads up
against the Dodgers. That's why it's interesting to meet too,
where this current World series it's more than just one

(20:41):
World series. It's like we're evaluating the series that the
Astros won partially how they perform in this current World series.
I mean, that doesn't happen that often. No, it's um,
I mean, it's gonna be a good game, you know.
I don't. I'm not a big baseball until this time

(21:01):
of year. Then you get into it, I do. I
just can't sit ye in the game and then be vested.
I just can't. Well. The one the Dodgers, you know,
they're Piddley Championship season. We didn't get to a side.
We didn't even get there. It's double whammy for you, though,

(21:23):
big man, where you're a Dodgers fan, they're out of it.
And then you know the Dodgers manager, I'm sorry, the
Giants manager is your guy. And Gabe Kapler, he's out right.
But I will tell you this. Dusty Baker is another
one of my guys met Dusty, great guy lives in

(21:43):
uh Sacramento. This tremendous guy. I'm pulling. I'm rolling with Dusty.
You're not tight with Brian snicker. No, I don't know that.
Now you don't know Brian. No, I don't know that. Oh,
I got you. Yeah, hopefully we'll have some drama tonight.
Well that would be nice. It'd be nice. Um. You
know someone who brings the drama in a good way.

(22:04):
And there's good drama, there's bad drama, right, like different
types of dramas different. Yeah, the nagging type, that's bad drama.
The good drama. Edge of your seat. Huh. Knowledge information,
that's what this command brings. He's a friend of America.
Mr Steve de Seger has golden nuggets all over the

(22:26):
sports world, loving music in the background there. It was
very nice. Hello, you know we got production value on
this show. What gives h And by the way, just
in dealing with facts here at the news desk, the
Dodgers did get to a seventy eighth game. Last year
they played exactly seventies and the regular season now the
regular season, Steve, the clinching World Series game was game

(22:46):
number seventy eight, Game four of the World Series on
Fox TV. Pregame shows on right Now first Pitch just
over a half hour away, with Atlanta hosting Houston. Dylan
Lee will get the start in an all bullpen game
for the Aves against Houston and Zach Granky, who won
eleven and six this year bravely the series two games
to one. Game five is Sunday night, also on Fox TV.

(23:08):
A Game six would be Tuesday nights in Houston. As
for college football, Number one Georgia looked the part again.
They beat Florida thirty four to seven. Number two Cincinnati
led it to lane fourteen to twelve late in the
third quarter thirty one twelve to final two lane with
four turnovers. Number four Oklahoma still undefeated after ripping Texas
Tech fifty two twenty one about to start. Number five

(23:31):
Ohio State hosting number twenty Penn State, and then the
game on Fox TV today, Number eight Michigan State with
a comeback win over Number six Michigan thirty seven thirty
three Kenneth Walker's five touchdown runs. Those were the five
touchdowns Michigan State scored today. Hundred ninety seven yards rushing
Spartans had trailed thirty to fourteen late in the third quarter.

(23:52):
The second game on Fox went to seventh ranked Oregon,
which is now seven and one after whipping Colorado fifty
two to twenty nine. Wisconsin at home dominated ninth ranked
Iowa twenty seven to seven. Old mrs at Auburn in
a Top twenty matchup tonight. That's Auburn seven to three
in the lead late first quarter. Twelfth rank Kentucky leads
seven nothing at Mississippi State late in the first and

(24:13):
fifteenth ranked Oklahoma State on FS one has just scored
for a seven nothing lead over Kansas in the first quarter.
Houston's leading nineteenth ranked s m U fourteen to nothing,
s m U seven, and oh Houston six and one.
This season, Notre Dame is hosting North Carolina and a
couple of minutes. Among the late games Virginia at number
twenty five, b y U at ten fifteen Eastern and

(24:36):
at ten thirty eastern, Fresno State at number twenty one,
San Diego States and by at tweet me in Los
Angeles for another home game for the Aztecs in Fresno.
State has been in l A and one already this
year at u c l A as I recall. Among
the earlier games, Clemson got a touchdown on the final
play after Florida State tried a bunch of laterals, So
Clemson thirty to twenty is the final over the Seminoles

(24:59):
produce also five and three light Clemson. Purdue wins twenty
three at Nebraska. As for the NBA, among the eleven
games that will be going tonight, where in the final
seconds of regulation, the Celtics are tied one oh three
one oh three at the Wizards. Jalen Brown thirty four points,
Boston with a two and three record. Kate Kate Cunningham,

(25:20):
the Pistons rookie, the guy selected number one overall in
the NBA draft, is making his team debut. Is pro
debut tonight Detroit oh and four is out to a
lead late first quarter eighteen over the Magic, who are
one and five and one. Other notes regarding the NFL
this weekend, of course, we've got a Monday night game
in Kansas City with the Giants visiting, and running back

(25:42):
se Kwon Barkley is out again with the bad anchle
as his wide receiver. Kenny Galaday of the Giants. The
Monday night games at Minnesota and Dallas. Quarterback Dak Prescott
with his caffe injury is reportedly a game time decision.
The Dallas Morning News now says, quote, it would surprise
many close to the situation if at Prescott starts on
Sunday night, officially a game day decision. But Cooper Rush

(26:05):
most of the meaningful reps of the week end quote
back to you. Yeah, and the betting line would reflect that.
Steve de Seger, Right, You're just seeing this throughout the
week all of a sudden, just more money, more money,
more money being poured in on the vikings. Or maybe
it's because they consider Kirk Cousins like Candy Corn, which

(26:25):
is your analogy last night on the show. See now
here's you like that. You're okay? Here here's it's appropriate
for this weekend as well. Yeah, I said, uh. I
put it on Twitter from Salam. This is one of
my better UM comparisons. I think, Um, I think that
Kirk Cousins is exactly like Candy Corn. And my thinking

(26:49):
is that Candy Corn is is good. I put that
Kirk Cousins is the Candy Corn of the NFL, much
better than his reputation. But for some reason there are
haters galore. That's exactly what it is. That No, candy
corn is not good. It's terrible, not terrible at all,

(27:13):
and Kirk Cousins is not terrible. It has no correlation
between a terrible candy and candy corn and anything else.
It really does. It's a dangerous comparison because man, there
are candy corn haters. It's the worst thing ever. It's

(27:37):
crazy to me, made wax with sugar and painted it.
It's candy. How bad can candy be? Have you ever
had candy corn? I have candy corn every single year
around Hollywe No, No, it's it's very good. I'm not
gonna sit here and say it's the best candy of

(27:57):
all time. It's far from horrible. It's not on the
list I loved. Earlier today, Brian Jones, he's on the
CBS Studio show right with Rick new Heisl and Um
and he was like they were coming back from break
and they were showing I think it was the Baylor game.
There are a couple of fans dressed up as candy corn,

(28:18):
and Brian Jones he goes candy corn like he was
seeing the pictures on TV and he goes, why do
people hate on candy corn? And I was like, thank you,
Brian Jones, Finally someone sensible in the media. Over here,
he just likes it because it's fern orange. Guaranteed he's
never had candy corn, No chance, no way. He is

(28:39):
not an enemy of fund that. Brian Jones over there guarantees.
The number one candy that is left over during Halloween?
Do you know what that is? I feel like you're
gonna doctor the numbers and the number it is candy corn.
Look it up yourself. What where did you see that research?

(29:00):
You know, we live in an an era of the
informational Highway. To steal from cable guy. I don't know
where this If you never know, you can be in
your living room playing Mortal Kombat with a friend across
the world in Hong Kong. Cable guy. Yeah, yeah, the

(29:25):
informational Highway. Okay, so you you check the sources and
that's what you came Number one candy left over during Halloween,
candy corn. That's that sounds like it's doctors. Most of
the candy corn you're eating this year's from three years ago.
By the way, One quick nugget right here, um all

(29:48):
of the A C C. Head football coaches were interviewed
and they were getting their favorite candies. Here and Duke
head coach David Cutcliff, smart guy right, worked with the Mannings,
you know, highly thought of offensive mind. You know his
favorite candy candy corn record. I thought he was gonna

(30:14):
say yeah, and the guy was born in the facts.
Just answered your own thing right there. That is just wrong,
absolutely wrong. Sorry, But well, how about this, because there
are such mixed views on candy corn, let's put that

(30:36):
to the side. Now, would you agree with this? Kirk Cousins,
he is he's a decent quarterback because that was actually
pretty good. He's better than his reputation, but he does
he has haters all over the place. Would you at
least agree with that. Yeah, it's just I lose you

(30:56):
with candy corn. For some reason, you hate fun and
you go anti candy corn. It's absolutely as fun. It's
part of Halloween. If you are setting the mood for
a Halloween party, you gotta have a dish of candy
corning Halloween. More depends on your guest list. Now, maybe

(31:19):
for your Halloween party, you got a bunch of candy
corn enthusiasts uh, coming over with their Zema's in there.
You know zem z. People would drop a certain color
skittle into the top of the would change color. You

(31:40):
get a purple zema. That's that's Uh, that's Brian's crew.
This is the high brow Halloween party. That's that's all
you You get in free with the six pack of
zema and a bushel of candy corn. Okay, so what
what would your Halloween party look like? How is it decorated?
What is there to eat? Hunted house? Uh, we got

(32:06):
all of the mini candy bars, twigs, uh, kid kat
u um Uh. We'll throw some milky ways in there.
We'll throw well, we'll throw some Snickers, Snickers, butterfringers, nestly crunch,

(32:27):
that's what we're doing. Okay, we're coming. We're coming with that.
That's good. But you gotta have a dish of candy
corn to set the appropriate mood for Halloween. Do not
not Halloween without a little dish of candy corner. Right,
let's see what go ahead, go ahead? A question for
both of you guys. It's been just at the tip
of my tongue here. What is the what is the

(32:48):
actual flavor of candy corn wax, sugar wax. That's what
people liked in the Great Depression. It tastes like candy.
I just they liked it in a great freshion because
you can also burn it for fuel for fuel, Yes, yes, yes,

(33:08):
Is it just a sugar flavor? Like that? Sugar sounds like?
You haven't eaten candy corn. It's been a while. Why
would you remember that? It is said to be a
flavor based on honey, sugar, butter, and vanilla. Oh man,
that sounds awful, Steve, like, how would that ever taste good?
Every ingredient is listen, different color. Forgot to put the

(33:31):
wax in there. That's the thing that it does. Mention
the waxy texture you paraffin. You know what kills me.
I hear these stories all the can no not candy corn.
I hear these people. They'll try candy corn once and
you'll notice in most of these stories they're like, oh yeah,
it was sitting out for nine days, or it was

(33:52):
from the previous Halloween. I tried something. It was bad.
It's all from the previous Halloween. It's gotta be fry.
They actually stopped making candy Corner about nine years ago.
It's a surplus is a surplus seven is untrue? Thirty
five million pounds sold annually and home according to the

(34:17):
confectioners see right there, facts from Steve to seg How
would if it was truly what I told you is?
It's the number one candy left over every Halloween. Yes,
that's what I said. From where? Where? Where did you
get that information? Just google it? Man, that's a guess.

(34:39):
That is an estimation on your part, right there. Hey man,
we have computers at our disposal. Let me ask you
guys one more question. What's worse? And I know Brian
probably take candy, won't take candy corn here, But what's worse?
The chalky Valentine's Day hearts or candy corn? Candy corn?
I think it's the chalky hearts hard are awful? How

(35:00):
about how about the chalky neco wafers. I'll tell you
black licorice. It's pretty bad, right like candy corn and
black licorice are our brothers. I don't know, because good
and plenty is kind of good, like in in a
small dose. You can't eat the whole Ballood and plenty
is terrible, Mike and ikes good in plenty. Oh, now

(35:25):
you're stepping too far, right, I'm going too far. Let's
let me just let me just limited to candy corn.
Then coming up next, there is actually, this is a
true story. There is a coach in the A c
C whose favorite Halloween candy is indeed black licorice. We

(35:46):
will let you know who that coaches. And also a
pretty hefty price to pay for something silly that happened
the other night, so we'll get into that as well.
I'm Brian, though Heasy from Salamis is Fox Sports Radio.

stud Old Miss quarterback, he was limping around pretty badly.
Looked like a possible calf injury, so I don't know
if he's gonna return in this game. Old Mrs already
trailing Auburn fourteen to three, and this would be what
the third top ten team to fall if all miss

(36:55):
ends up losing this game to Auburn. So hey, man,
just find a way to win. It doesn't have to
be pretty. All these teams ahead are just the game
for the old astics. Yeah yeah, but you have to
play someone that you've heard of before too, you know.
That's I'm sorry, that was Oh I'm not even paying

(37:17):
attention to that. You know, at the San Diego States
of the world. That's not gonna cut it, you know. Ah. Yeah,
it's a sluggish start for the Irish against North Carolina,
very very early on in that game. Okay, So before
we get back to a candy the a c C
coaches Candies of choice. I find this to be pretty interesting.

(37:40):
We got word that k D Kevin Durant of the
Brooklyn Nets, he's been fined. He went NFL quarterback. He
got filed. Last night, Nets beat the Pacers. He got
filed a little frustrated and he threw the ball in
the stands like it was a football through a football
pass into the stands. He was fining twenty five dollars.
It's chump chain for Kevin Durant. This means nothing in

(38:02):
the grand scheme of things, but I mean it does
show a couple of things. It shows that Kevin Durant
has like, you know, bleep you money basically right, like
when he can just sort of like blow his nose
in twenty five thousand dollars falls. Oh there we go,
there's your fine money, NBA, you know whatever, who cares?

(38:22):
And also it does show the talent level even without
Kyrie Irving, where you could just give away a free
point and it's like that, who cares. We're playing the Pacers.
It's fine, you know, but not a big deal in
the grand scheme of things. But it will cost KD
didn't roll over in that game. That was a tough
game for him. Yeah, well you did see Tory Craig
roll over when he got he got uh you know,

(38:44):
k D broke his ankles and he not only felt down,
he skidded, he went slipping and watched him. Yeah, that
was what happens. You gotta hustle back up, and then
you gotta dive into the person who made you fall.
You gotta dive into their stumb and and and and
make them go to the free throw line just off,

(39:05):
you know, just off GP like you you can't just
sit on the ground and watch him splash at three
on you, and that's what he did. Tori was like,
I'm not gonna get up in time to challenge the shots,
so the damage is done. I'm just gonna take ball

(39:26):
tap him. Is something right? Okay? Now here is the
list of college head coaches in the a c C.
They have their favorite candies listed. Now let's just do
this real quickly. We'll go rapid fire. You tell me
if it's acceptable or you deem this to be an
unacceptable choice for the favorite candy. Okay. Boston College head

(39:50):
coach Jeff Halfley, he goes with nerds, acceptable or unacceptable
for candy? Yea favorite Halloween and candy. It's his personal favorite.
What are you at? No? No, it's acceptable, it's acceptable,
absolutely acceptable. We know your answer. About dukehead coach David Cutcliff,

(40:11):
very wise man, he went with candy corn. You're rolling
your eyes at that, right, I'm just not even go ahead.
Georgia Tech head coach Jeff Collins favorite Halloween candy milk duds.
That's not acceptable that No, not as your favorite. No,
it's a movie candy. Yeah, I do like him. Number one.

(40:34):
How about Miami head coach Many Dias skittles. Yeah's acceptable.
Marshawn Lynch love skittles. You know, ho home on that.
NC State head coach Dave Dorn goes with Reese's we
got action. How about Dino Babers of Syracuse runts. No,

(40:59):
that's what you are doing. Shame Do one more. We'll
get to the other half next hour. Virginia Tech head
coach Justin Flente atomic fireball is what he has at
the top of his list. Those are always left over.
Candy Corn, you are just a cheap shot artist tonight.

(41:23):
It's unbelievable. Alright. Coming up next the salary is I popping? Oh,
what's going on? I hope you enjoying your Saturday evening.
Of course, a little bit of a hybrid tonight, reacting
to the college games that are already completed, the games

(41:45):
that are going on right now, and of course looking
forward to the NFL slate of games, and we will
get to the picks against the spread here next hour.
Looking forward to that. There's a story that caught a
lot of traction during the week, big man Roger Goodell
and all the money that he has been paid. He's
been paid one eight million dollars over the past two years.

(42:11):
That's quite a bit of change right there. That includes salary,
bonuses and benefits, but a cool one eight million dollars
over a two year span. And my my take on
it is this, you know what's going to come. It's like,
how does this guy make all this money? And he's

(42:34):
had all of these missteps with named the gate of choice, right,
Like we've got numerous gates with the flight gate and
bounty gate and spy gate and the Ray Rice bungling
and all that type of stuff, And those are legitimate criticisms.
But the thing that always stands out to me is
the reason that Goodell is still employed is because he's

(42:56):
pleased as bosses. It's as simple as that he's employed
by the team owners of the NFL. Jerry Jones, you
know all these team owners, right, and so he's at
least in their eyes, done a good enough job where
they haven't replaced him. And I think that's what's missed
in this whole thing. The truth is this, whatever your

(43:16):
occupation is, you don't have to do a great job.
You don't even have to do a good job, but
you have to please your bosses. And somehow someway Roger
Goodell has done that, and that's why he's getting paid
bank over here. When you talk about good job and
great job, you have to keep that in context. Roger
Goodell doesn't get it get paid for doing a great

(43:38):
job for fans our media, that's right. He gets paid
for keeping the NFL the largest UH revenue earning American

(43:58):
sports league by a mile, by ten miles. You can
combine basketball, baseball, and hockey, and I don't know if
they will eclipse the seventeen billion the NFL is projected
to make this year. NFL made fifteen point six billion dollars?

(44:22):
Are you kidding me? Yeah? I think his bosses are
okay with that. And you could easily say, well, it's
not because of Goodell, and well, yeah, that's true. You
could replace Goodell today and it's not as if they're
going to make half of that money, right. But I

(44:42):
think team otors look at it and say, hey, if
we are still just printing money, I mean, business is
usual over here. That's how they're looking at the NFL
sales itself. But what I would say is, you know,
when Rogerdale took over in two uh two thousand six,

(45:04):
the NFL was roughly right around I think maybe six billion,
five and a half, six billions somewhere in there. So
since that time, I mean, they've tripled the annual revenue.

(45:26):
Now you look at the antillary streams of Thursday night Football,
you look at which is renegotiated every year. No one
has exclusive rights, work stoppages, uh, the Amazon deals, all
of these other things, the apps. The latest media deal

(45:46):
was it's crazy, crazy money. It's yeah, so yeah, yeah,
he's gonna keep getting paid. He's gonna make those bonuses
because the revenue is there. That's right. The revenue was
down to twelve billion I think last year because of
the pandemic. You made twelve billion dollars in the pandemic.

(46:10):
That's pretty good. That's really good. And I get I
get the whole conversation. I can hear the arguments. I
can almost hear Rob Parker in myout. We talked about
it in in in length yesterday. But the bottom line is,
it doesn't matter what I say, what you say, what
Rob Parker says, what anybody says. The only thing that

(46:33):
matters is what the bosses say and the team owners say.
Business as usual. We're pleased to the point where we're
not looking to replace this guy. And that's the only
thing that matters. It really is that simple in any occupation,
Like how many times have you had a coworker where
you look at the person sideways, like, how the hell

(46:55):
does this person have a job right now? It's because
the bosses are placed that that doesn't matter what you are.
I think it's what they think. That's how it goes.
That's and and and that's all he's worried about. And look,
you can see what you want about him, but the

(47:15):
job he's hired to do, he's doing it. M Yeah,
find a way to line our pockets. And that certainly
has been the case with the numbers that you rattled
off there. That's where we're at with it. I'm Brian
though he's e from salam Here on Fox Sports Radio,
the great Steve de Seger he mentioned this last hour,

(47:37):
but it's looking more and more unlikely that Dak Prescott
will play for the Dallas Cowboys. Now I find this
to be pretty interesting where it's way beyond week eight.
How bad is this calf injury? Like is it associated
with the ankle injury that he's coming back from? And

(48:00):
I mean if this is a one week thing, no biggie.
But it does beg the question like what is his
actual status. Is this just a little bit of an
injury and needs a little extra time, misses a game,
no biggie, Or is this a nagging injury that could
impact his style of play, his availability? I think those
are all reasonable questions at this point. Yeah it is.

(48:23):
And look they're five and one, they're way ahead in
a miserable division. They're going against the Vikings. Do you
need them to play tomorrow to win? I'm not saying
to win, I'm saying do you need them to play?
Because what you don't need is for him to get

(48:45):
hurt and you miss him for three or four weeks.
That's what you don't need, right Yeah, I would Where
you currently are at five and one, way ahead in
a division, do you need need him to play tomorrow?
Not at the expense, Absolutely not. We saw all last

(49:09):
year what it looks like when he's not available. That's
not what you want. That's a great point, right Like
right now, we we've had a look into that window.
That's an ugly window. Man. Those windows need to be
clean to media. So if there if there's even a
chance that you can find yourself somewhere back outside looking

(49:29):
through that window. You don't do it at all. No,
we're good, Well, we're we'll hold back another week. Can
only help. Yeah, yeah, you're gosh you talk about I
mean on the eve of Halloween. You know it fits
the whole theme here. That was an absolute nightmare last

(49:51):
year for the Dallas Cowboys. That goes down and what
week five against the Giants and you have a combination
of ben Nardoozy and I gotta I gotta even name
all the dudes that were under center. Then no, no,
you no way you want to relive that. No, absolutely,
now you can't. You can't want to relive that. You

(50:13):
can't relive it. Yeah, I think that we're heading towards
the Cowboys. If anything airing on the side of caution, right,
it's just if this dude isn't ready to roll, right,
and you just you put them on the shelf for
one more week, it's better you gotta think long term.

(50:34):
And also we've got more games this year, right, We've
got seven team games. So I don't think you're exactly
throwing up the white flag. Tomorrow night is gonna be
a lot tougher, a heck of a lot tougher to
beat the Vikings on the road with your backup quarterback.
But you still have a puncher chance in that game
if you're going with your backup and uh yeah, I

(50:57):
would just there on the side of caution. This is
Mike McCarthy. Now you bring up a great point. You
could almost hear Mike McCarthy stating this answer about Dak
Prescott maybe playing against the Vikings with last year and
the injury woes in mind. Check this out. It's more
than just this game. I mean, we're obviously in our

(51:17):
seventh game, so there's a tun of football left to play,
so that's definitely part of the decision and giving him
the time that's needed to you know, take it all in. Yeah,
that sounds like a guy that lived a nightmare last year.
No no, no, no, no, no no. Because this, I'll
tell you this as a head coach, this is very

(51:42):
pivotal for him because if he allows dad to play
and Dad gets hurt for any length of time and
it causes the division to reshuffle, mhm, you can get
fired for it. Yeah, that's a fireball offense. So keep

(52:06):
that in mind and It's funny. It's crazy how quickly
things change. Because Jerry Jones, the team owner, right, he
was on one oh five three the Fan earlier this
week and he was like, thanks, are looking good, looking
a little optimistic here with Dak being out there, and
we know Jerry Jones would love to see DAC out there.
But what you just said is true. If Mike McCarthy

(52:28):
makes the call, Jerry Jones might be sitting there on
Sunday Night Football like, good, we got Dak ready to roll,
and if that goes down, it's like we might need
to replace Mike McCarthy right away. That's just how it
goes man. You can't make a decision that puts the
season in jeopardy like that, and that's exactly what you're doing.

(52:49):
It's not worth it. It's not worth it at all.
By the way, how about jose L TV within I
think it will be an infield hit out, that's an error,
but they would probably have half of the hits already
one batter in. Yeah, that's where we're at so far.

(53:12):
To start this game, Hey, we're brought to you by
one of our favorite cities, Las Vegas, the greatest arena
on Earth. Plan your trip today at visit Las Vegas
dot com. Alright, coming up next, we've got two NFL players,
and man, they are viewed totally differently. Will you let

(53:33):
you know who those players are and if we think
they should be viewed as differently as they are. I'm
Brian No, He's e from Salam. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Brian No, He's he from Salam here on Fox Sports Radio.
So the news this week because we get ready for

(53:53):
the Dolphins at the Bills, Dolphins head coach Brian Flores
announced at to a tongue of Voloa has been named
the team starting quarterback for the remainder of the season.
It's been the days of our lives with the Dolphins
and to us so far, has it not? It's just

(54:16):
the last couple of weeks we get all these rumors
that the Dolphins they're interested in DeShawn Watson. There even
reports they have a deal on the table for Deshaun Watson.
And now you get Flora's saying that tongue of Voloha
has named the starter for the remainder of the season.
What is going on here? Huh? I mean he may
be named the starter while he's on the team, but

(54:40):
he could still be traded before the deadline, That's right.
And then I mean, yeah, while he's here, if we
don't get a deal done, then yeah, he'll be the
starter for the remainder of the season. But if he's
not here, so be it. That's just what it is.
Unless unless Houston didn't want to uh, that story is

(55:07):
out there also, they may not want him. That's why
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported he said, this might
sound crazy, but my sense is that the Texans are
more interested in Davis Mills then to a tongue of Violoa. Yeah,
so that might not be part of the package that

(55:27):
they're putting together. What says you tells you a lot
about your guy. To tou touh, that's your guy. I
just I don't understand the negativity to that degree. I
can understand. It's Uh, you know, two has made some
sketchy decisions and some bad interceptions, and he isn't what

(55:50):
Herbert is. Right, the Dolphins could have selected Justin Herbert
instead they went with Tah. I get all of that,
But you are more interested in Davis Mills than to Ah.
How How can you justify that? I mean, I guess
I'll put it this way, here's my best attempt at it.
It might not be that you you feel more confident

(56:10):
about Davis Mills than to Uh. You just might not
think either are going to be a true franchise quarterback,
and you want other things. You'd rather have a draft
because you don't have to try to make it work
or see if it's it'll work. You don't even have
to go down that role. Yeah, like they did with

(56:32):
like Miami deal with Josh Rosen. Even that is damning right.
You'd rather have a scratch off lottery ticket pick who
knows who the player turns out to be over to uh,
Like you'd rather have the unknown over to Uh. That's
that's what they're saying. Yeah, that's exactly what they're saying.

(56:54):
You know what also stands out to me is I
started thinking about it when this news broke about to
A being named the starter for the remainder of the
season for the Dolphins. Think about how Tuah is commonly
viewed and how Bears quarterback Justin Fields is commonly viewed.
Their polar opposites, and there are some differences between you,

(57:17):
like you've got two in his second year he's played
in more games than Justin Fields has and you can
look at differences here and there, but it's just crazy.
Just think about any conversation about the Bears, and I've
heard a lot of them, it's always about well, Matt
Naggy this, and the offensive line that and what's up

(57:37):
with this? And it's never about Justin Fields ever. And
on the direct opposite end of the spectrum, whenever the
Dolphins are talked about, even though they have a sketchy
offensive line and that right, it's to his fault, freaking
to a to a tongue of volo, this guy bus
City like it. Right, it's always painted as it's to

(57:59):
his fault, and it's always painted as it's everybody's fault.
But Justin Fields, that's how it's talked about. I hear
that time and time again. And I don't know why
they're viewed so differently. I understand they're gonna be viewed
differently to a point, but not to that point. It
doesn't make sense to me. Yeah, and look, um, sometimes

(58:22):
you miss that's the reality of UH drafting off potential
top draft picks. Like I said, it's more first round
draft by quarterback draft bust than than guys who are
going to be, you know, great players. M hmm. Sometimes
it just doesn't work out, whether it be system, whether

(58:44):
it be you know, health, whatever that may be. And
it seems like Miami missed on tour just to have talent.
Yeah he does, he has talent, But is he the
quarterback for them for the next ten years? I've not.
We wouldn't even be having this conversation. M They'll take

(59:04):
de Sean for the next ten years. Though in the heartbeat,
Oh yeah. You know what's funny to me is to um.
I think that to is very similar to Baker Mayfield.
I don't think there's a whole lot of separation, a
lot of difference between those two guys, just as NFL quarterbacks, right,

(59:25):
but think how differently they're viewed, and a lot of
that is the talent around them. Right, we're talking about
hey do you extend Baker Mayfield, who's like a year
from now, talking about hey do you back up the
Brinks truck for two a tongue of voloa. I just
can't foresee that conversation taking place unless to his numbers
are dramatically better than where they are. Yeah. No, and

(59:48):
you know, speaking of Baker, they're having that well number one,
they didn't want to back up the truck for Baker's
they said, let's see, let's see how you do this year.
And uh, it's not going well for Baker Mayfield right
now in terms of negotiation. Um, it's just not Yeah,

(01:00:10):
so unless he can come back and get help and
while he's playing this week, so we'll see, you know
what that looks like. But you know, there's a new
there's a new little big brother in that division and
that Cincinnati yeah leveland is no longer the Darlings. Oh

(01:00:34):
my god, they came out of nowhere. Cincinnati's for real. Yeah,
They're They're legit team, play real defense. Joe Burrows a player,
Jamar Chase. Man, it looked like it was a potential
disaster and that was really early on the preseason. He
couldn't catch the football. He could not catch the ball.
And he's been phenomenal. He's been an absolute studd. Jamar Chase,

(01:00:55):
He's an offensive Rookie of the Year right now. Just
big plays left and right. I think it's I think
it's really interesting if you go a quarterback by quarterback,
like whose evaluation, Like the mainstream evaluation of some of
these quarterbacks. Sometimes it's pretty accurate, and sometimes it's nowhere
near accurate. Right, Like, if you just said to the

(01:01:20):
common person on the street, like, hey, just ball park
kirk cousins stats for me this year, Like, just, I
don't expect you to have a memorize, but just guesstimate
where it is right now, I think you'd have people
saying things that are not even close. Kirk Cousins has
thrown thirteen touchdown passes and two interceptions. He's a scoche

(01:01:45):
behind Aaron Rodgers in passer rating. He's point three behind
Aaron Rodgers, who has been outstanding this year. That's where
Kirk is. He's a shade under seventy completion percentage. He's
put up numbers. He's thrown for two yards per game.
That's his average. You take that all day. Yeah, that's

(01:02:08):
not where his reputation. Yes, And if you just said, hey,
ballpark Kirk's numbers for me, it'd be, oh, that freaking
guy Kirk. Oh gosh, what is he throwing? Like ten
picks yet? I don't know seven it's thirteen touchdown stupics.
No one cares, No one cares he's balling, he's having

(01:02:33):
a good year. Nobody's talking about. He's a classic case
of once you establish a reputation, you gotta do something
really significant to change it. That's the way it goes, Right,
Let's look at Matthew Stafford. If Matthew Stafford was still
with the Lions and bawling out and they have one

(01:02:56):
or two wins right now, no one cares at all
like that, it's not changing his reputation whatsoever. But he
goes to the Rams. Those guys are winning games left
and right, all of a sudden, he's looked at in
a different light. It changes things. But man, being three
and three like the the Vikings are, and even though
Kirk is putting up huge numbers like that's not gonna

(01:03:18):
be enough to change his reputation. I wish it would be,
but that's not how it works. It's it's just crazy
how that perception is reality. Yeah, it's wild like that,
but I mean that's the way it works outside of
sports too. If you've got a friend that's thought to
be like the cheap guy, if you'll go out on

(01:03:40):
a group and that guy is gonna have to be
paying for dinners left and right for you to even
think like, Wow, he's not the cheap guy anymore. You know,
it takes a lot to change the reputation. Got to
change that that narrative. It's it's hard to do sometimes
sometimes something as you don't even want to change the narrative.

(01:04:02):
If the reputation is so rock solid, you know what
I'm saying. You just want to just keep doing what
you do. And that is the essence, that's the epitome
of a friend of America who goes by the name
of Steve de Sager. Good evening, gentlemen. They've just finished

(01:04:22):
the top of the first of World Series Game number
four on Fox TV, and the Braves are lucky to
be only down one nothing to Houston. Braves are leading
this series two games to one. It's an all bullpen
game for Atlanta tonight. So Dylan Lee was told today, Hey,
you're starting, and he lasted a third of an inning.
He got one out, one hit, and two walks allowed

(01:04:43):
his fifteen pitches and that was it. He left with
basses loaded. Houston could only score on an RBI ground
out to the bottom of the first one nothing strokes
in the lead. Game five is Sunday, night also on
Fox TV to college football. Among the games in progress SAT.
Eighteenth ranked Auburn it's seventeen the lead over Old Miss,
which is ranked ten. This is late in the second

(01:05:04):
quarter and by the way, star quarterback Matt Corral of
Old Miss has returned from the ankle injury. Also in progress,
final seconds before halftime at Mississippi State Bulldogs leading number
twelve Kentucky fourteen to ten. On FS one, Fifteenth ranked
Oklahoma State is shutting out Kansas thirty eight nothing late
in the first half. Good matchup in the American Conference

(01:05:25):
with Houston at six and one hosting undefeated and nineteenth
ranked SMU, which is seven and oh Houston leads twenty
fourteen over SMU about four minutes to go in the
second quarter. SMU is driving Meanwhile, early second quarter at
fifth ranked Ohio State and Penn State as a seven
three lead over the Buckeyes in early second quarter. Eleventh
rank Notre Dame now up ten seven over North Carolina.

(01:05:48):
The two late games Virginia at number twenty five, b
y U at ten fifteen Eastern and at ten thirty eastern.
Number twenty one San Diego State will be hosting Fresno State.
Of the eleven NBA games, one is final. Washington wins
again five and one record for the Wizards. They beat

(01:06:09):
Boston and double overtime one fifteen one twelve the Celtics
from three point range, we're two for twenty six and
they lost by three in the final second. Jalen Brown,
who had thirty four points, was stripped on a three
point try. Celtics lose on the road. Meanwhile, among the
games that are in progress in the NBA, the Pistons

(01:06:30):
that owen four only down fifty six fifty five to
Orlando mid third quarter. We're paying attention to this because
it's Kate Cunningham's NBA debut, the man that was selected
number one overall by Detroit. He has one for eight
shooting from the floor, including oh five from three point range,
three turnovers, game, has seven rebounds, but his team is

(01:06:53):
down a point in the third quarter, and that's the
start to his career. If the Knicks win tonight, they'll
be five and one and they're leading mids quarter at
New Orleans seventy five to sixty seven. Philadelphia is a
head late second quarter fifty one thirty nine over the
Atlanta Hawks, and as far as the NFL News, Chicago
Bears head coach Matt Naggy is still in COVID protocol

(01:07:14):
and we'll miss tomorrow's game against San Francisco. Dallas quarterback
Dak Prescott with his calf injury was reportedly a game
time decision, but again Dallas Morning News says for Sunday
night at Minnesota, quote, it would be a surprise if
he starts end quote back to you, Thank you, Steve,
Brian though and e from Salam with you here on
Fox Sports Radio, and uh, yeah, I'm pretty much anticipating

(01:07:38):
no Dak Prescott tomorrow night. Is that where you are?
To me? Yeah, I think that's where we're at. What
a weird year, right, because think it makes me think
before the season even began, where Dak had the shoulder injury, right,
like the latin muscle or whatever he had going on there,
and we're like, is this guy even gonna be able

(01:07:59):
to play against Town? But and he went out and
he was unbelievable, and then we're like, Okay, we don't
have any injury concerns, and now the calf injury pops
up and he's probably gonna miss this game. Against the Vikings.
But it's been a weird year already for Dak just
from an injury standpoint. Yeah, you gotta stay healthy. I mean,
the season and the Dallas Cowboys success hinges on his health,

(01:08:23):
which is why you should be very cautious. Yeah, yeah,
you gotta be cautious on that um or paying attention
also to Game four of the World Series this evening.
I thought it was interesting last night some of the strategy.
I think it's interesting when strategy that works is still

(01:08:44):
second guest. And that's what we had last night. So
the Braves manager, Brian Snitker, he pulled Ian Anderson, the
starting pitcher. Ian Anderson had a no hitter through five innings.
He threw seventy six pitches, and Snitker pulled him and
went to his bullpen, and it worked. You had four

(01:09:04):
relievers pitch one inning apiece and the Braves win the
game last night. And it's been second guests quite a bit,
big man. It's like, well, it's a bullpen game tonight,
It's gonna be a bullpen game tomorrow night, and these
arms might get tired, and it's the wrong strategy. And
I just if you look at each of those pitchers
last night. No reliever through more than seventeen pitches. Yeah,

(01:09:28):
they're fine, they're fine. They're throw more than that in
warm ups. There's no problem at all. But I don't know, man,
welcome to UH sports viewing in one. Even when a
decision works, it's like, yeah, but it it might eventually
not work. I just don't think that's what we're looking

(01:09:48):
at here. No, I mean the communication between you know, managers,
in the in the pitching staff and and everything that's
going to those guys relievers. I did no one communicate
more mm hmm right. I mean, look at the Dodgers

(01:10:09):
game when um had it dead arm oh max us
it's dead today. Well, I think back to last year
where of course Blake Snell got pulled by Kevin Cash,
the manager, and that didn't work out. And also that

(01:10:34):
wasn't the same thing. You know, like Blake Snell had
gone deeper in the game, he was more dominant. I
know that Ian Anderson hadn't allowed to hit, but he
walked three batters. He wasn't dominant like Blake Snell was.
I'll tell you this. Remember how they were Dodger players
looking at one another when Blake Snell got pulled, We're like,

(01:10:56):
that was a bad move where we got a chance now, Like,
I don't think that's what the Astros were doing last night,
you know. I don't think they saying, oh, that's a
bad move by Snicker, we got a chance in this
thing right now. So I don't think those are the
same decisions. But the only reason I referenced it from
last year, I give Snitker credit because he knows if
he pulls a guy that is not giving up a

(01:11:19):
hit through five innings and it goes south, like the
bullpen just doesn't do the job. You know, the fallout,
the reaction is going to be like we just saw
this last year. When are these managers gonna learn why
are they babying their starting pitchers and blah blah blah blah.
But he thought it was the right move to make,
and he made it. He didn't shy away from it. No,

(01:11:41):
that's what they get paid for, is to make those
decisions based on the full of the series, what's going
on in the game and in their bullpen. Yeah, that's it.
I mean, this is what they do. I don't like
how these tar Heels are moving the ball. I mean
they really are moving the ball. Yeah, it will here. Yeah,

(01:12:03):
I don't. I don't like this. Oh this uh one
little nugget here on baseball, Tyler mat Sick. He's one
of the relievers. He got some action last night. The
student's been lights out. He's been amazing anybody on base

(01:12:25):
you forget about it. But his story. I didn't know
this about the guy. So he's a former first round
pick and he had the yips. He spent five years
away from the big leagues because he was pushing through
anxiety and he was falling apart as a picture. He
had to relearn how to pitch. At one point he

(01:12:47):
was living in a trailer while playing for an independent
league team, and all of a sudden, it's just electric. Sometimes, hey,
look to get to your to to to your destinations.
Sometimes the journey is different. It is difficult, but the payoff,

(01:13:08):
well that's the crazy thing to write. Some of these dudes.
With Windy Rhodes, I think, you know, we talk a
lot of football. Think about James Harrison in the NFL, right,
just being cut time and time and time again. Early
in his career, latches on with the Steelers as an
undrafted free agent in an unbelievable career. But if James

(01:13:29):
Harrison is drafted in the first round and doesn't have
all of those tough times, I don't know that he
turns out to be the player that he is. Difficult
to say, that's absolutely right. Yeah, And with Mat Sick,
who knows that something else? Boy, he's like the in

(01:13:52):
terms of performance this postseason, he's like the Giants Web. Yeah,
it's not. You don't consider often the yips to be
a blessing in disguise, you know, but in this case
it might be. I'll tell you this, that dude is
more mentally strong going through what he's gone through now

(01:14:15):
than if he never went through it. Yeah, you can't
shake him. He's unshakable. Yeah, he's nasty. Are planning what
it gets to. Coming up next, we get back to
the Halloween candy of choice from a CC football coaches.
There is one guy on this list. He might this

(01:14:35):
might be a fire Bowl offense. Seriously, his favorite Halloween candy.
They might just say, you know what, You're fired. You're
no longer the head football coach. We'll share that with you.
I'm Brian, though he'sy from salam This is Fox Sports
Radio I'm Brian. No, he's he from salam Here on
Fox Sports Radio, Michael Mayor is a very good tight

(01:14:59):
end by a way big man, the nere Dame tight end.
They call him baby Gronk. Nice little catch right there,
very nice. What's your honest opinion when Notre Dame does well?
Knowing that I'm a Notre Dame, honk, how do you
honestly feel I like it? You do. I'm not against you, Brian,
never have been, Okay, I'm just against your idiotytsy sometimes.

(01:15:22):
So Okay, Hey, I can understand I don't want to
do a show, and you're sulking and sad and yeah,
you know what I mean, just like you don't well,
you may want San Diego State to lose. I don't know.
I mean, you may be diabolical like that. But I'm
not like you, Okay, No, Yeah, I honestly no, I

(01:15:44):
don't think. I don't think I root actively against Sandy.
Yeah you do. If anything, No, this is this is
the truth. Whenever anybody can get you to care more
about a team, I always think that's a good thing.
I did at a radio in Fresno, California, years ago.
One of my friends Why would you disparage the nine

(01:16:06):
like that? Why on earth? One of my friendsral California,
shout out to the San Joaquin Valley. Don't don't disparage
the valley like that. But one of my buddies there,
Doug Ray, he loved and still does Michigan State loved him.

(01:16:27):
I don't care about Sparty, right, it's not my team,
but because he cared about him so much. No, oh no, no,
I'm not really against them. I cared more, right if
I don't know, like today big win today first party.
You know, I cared more about that game because my
buddy cares like crazy, and so that's how I feel

(01:16:50):
about San Diego State. It makes it more interesting to
me because otherwise I really wouldn't care. But because you
went there and you know, you waived the Aztec flag proudly,
proudly high. Yeah, it makes the game's more interesting. Fight
on and on, yesteck Man, Sons of Mana Zuma, you
will win again. Keep us bears high. They were our knee.

(01:17:15):
We won't stop till victory. Yeah. Yeah, I'm deep you wow, dude, Yeah,
you're shameless over here with you. Come on, man, I
mean that's look I played in the NFL. I'll played
for five teams. I went to one college. Yeah, that's it. Facts.
Do you know? Uh? Lou Holtz old school. But when

(01:17:36):
he went to the New York Jets as the head coach,
he wrote a fight song he wanted he wanted it
to be a little bit like college football. That's that's
a misstep. Didn't quite land. There are some you know this, right,
the Philly fights song. Detroit. Detroit has a fight song
which immediately made me not think of them as a

(01:17:56):
professional football team. So yeah, there's that. I hate to say.
A man comes on the screen with a Teddy bear
in a hardhead and they hey. I was like, My
wife was like, what is going on? Right? The Dolphins
have a fight song. It is the worst thing I've
ever heard with my ears in life. It's awful. It's terrible.

(01:18:21):
But there are a couple I do. I am partial
to the Bears fight song. Totally old school, but I
love it. Some of that stuff does work, but not
quite like college football. That's why it spread. All these
fight songs work in college football. Okay, Now this is
the the second half of the Halloween candy list. When

(01:18:42):
it comes to a c C head football coaches. Okay,
they've been pulled, they've been screened, if you will, they've
been interviewed, and these are their favorite candies. Now you
tell me, big man, if you find this to be
acceptable or unacceptable. Now, these are their favorite candies right there.
We keep that in mind. But sometimes you're like, there's

(01:19:04):
just so much better stuff out there. That's a terrible selection.
So what do you think about this? Approve or disapprove?
Clemson head coach Dabo Sweeney he goes with pay day
favorite Halloween candy? Thumbs up on that one. How about
Scott sadder Field of Louisville. He goes with their heads

(01:19:30):
Approve No, no, approve. I would agree with that. This
is the funniest one. To me. This is just perfect.
What would be North Carolina head coach Mac Brown's favorite
Halloween candy? He goes with words. That's the old thing,

(01:20:00):
right then, Macron, excuse me, sir, please step out. Not
a young buck anymore. He goes with Worthers. I remember
my nana having those. Yeah, hey, look man, they're tasty.
I love Worthers. The list I want to go there.
Patent Ar Doozy of pit pretty standard but I like

(01:20:22):
this selection Snickers, you know, straightforwards, three yards in a
cloud of dust that yeah. How about Bronco Mendenhall from
Virginia again, another three yards in a cloud of dust selection.
Eminem's okay, that works, that works. I like this selection.

(01:20:44):
Dave clawson of wake Forest, by the way, wake Forest
still undefeated, having a great year. He goes with sour
Patch Kids. Great selection. That yeah, it works more at
a movie theater than in your Halloween. But they have
the little minis you little mini packs you can put
in the Halloween. Beautiful backholder, throw Irish touchdown. It's very

(01:21:09):
nicely done. Right. There was wondering what you're clapping, and
I was like sour patches for sour Patch kids as well, excited.
So I normally do I go and you know, I
buy my movie ticket and then when they have sour
Patch Kids and I buy them, you know, just do
it there as well. Now the last one, this is outrageous.

(01:21:29):
There might need to be sanctions. There has to be
some sort of punishment, repercussions. Florida state head coach Mike
Norvel his favorite Halloween candy black licorice. Oh my god,
that no wondered, Florida State sucks. Good lord, it's the
worst thing ever. They used that candy to torture people

(01:21:54):
kids when kids are being bad. Yeah, make them eat
that candy. I have so many questions, like one, how
can you like it? But two? How is that number one?
Good lord? Yeah, I questioned the man himself. This is

(01:22:14):
our leader over here. Oh my gosh, all right, coming
up next? This team needs to turn things around, and
they're off to a bad start already, will explain. Yes,
I hope you enjoying your Saturday evening. Lots to cover,
lots to cover here. We got college ball, NFL, A

(01:22:36):
little bit of World Series action going on here. My
Irish playing right now. He from San Diego State, Aztecs
on deck. Huh, it's crazy. We got all kinds of
stuff going on here, A lot of good stuff going on, man, Yeah,
how about this story? So we know that the Chiefs
sorely need to get back on track there, three and

(01:22:57):
four right now. The disappointment of the NFL thus far,
based on what they were expected to do and where
they currently are. This isn't helping safety Tyrone Matthew. He
has apologized for something that he recently put on Instagram.
What he wrote on Instagram was, this might be one

(01:23:18):
of the most toxic fan bases in all of sports.
He's talking about the Chiefs fan bases, talked about his
own team. Yeah, and so he came out and said,
obviously that was a mistake on my part. And then
he explained even further, I haven't had the season I've
wanted to have. I think as a team, we couldn't

(01:23:41):
say the same. Frustration tends to build up people that
really know me, teammates, people I know in the community,
even fans I come across in a gas station. All
these people I think see me being a genuine person.
I shouldn't have used those words. I think I'm man
enough to admit that and really own that. Just looking

(01:24:02):
forward to playing better, doing better, and I think, most importantly,
not being a distraction to my team. Very good apology.
I like the apology. Just own it. You must have
a great publicist. There need to be more great publicists. Yeah,
it's the same one I have. Is that right? Okay?

(01:24:26):
Very well done. How many apologies are like I'm normally
not like this. This doesn't reflect upon me. He's just like,
I'm sorry that was stupid. My bad done. That's how
you apologize. Now, I shouldn't have stepped at it in
the first place, talking about the Chiefs maybe the most
toxic fan bases in all of sports. But he definitely

(01:24:46):
walked it back, which was his only option. But that's
not a great start to Week eight for the Chiefs, right, yeah,
I mean they at some point he gotta turn this
thing around, right, I mean the expectations from that Chiefs
fan base are very high, as they should be, and

(01:25:09):
when you put a product out there on the field
it doesn't meet those expectations, then yeah, it's not gonna
be all rain bowls and candy corn. I see what
you did, right, nicely done by you, you know, I
have to while we're talking about um, I thought that
was a good apology by Tyrone Matthew. There was an

(01:25:30):
apology that is I don't understand how this is even
out there right now. So the story and I don't
want to get into the entire thing, but what happened
with the Chicago Blackhawks, Okay, I have to set up
a little bit just for context. We know what's going
on here. So there was a former player in two
Kyle Beach he was sexually assaulted by a a video coach,

(01:25:56):
someone that was on the pay roll. Right, he tells
the black Hawks organization like, hey, this happened, and basically
the head coach at the time, Joel Quinnville, said, hey,
we fought really hard to get to this spot in
the playoffs, Like, let's just let's not deal with this
right now. We don't want anything to throw off our

(01:26:16):
pursuit of a Stanley Cup trophy here. And so there's
an investigation, it comes to light. So Joe Quinville he's
forced to resign with the Florida Panthers. Okay, so that's
where we are right now. This leads to the statement
that Joel Quinnville released. Now listen to this. You tell

(01:26:37):
me if this is a good apology or not. Big
man quote. I want to express my sorrow for the
pain this young man, Kyle Beach has suffered. My former team,
the black Hawks, failed Kyle, and I own a share
of that. I want to reflect on how all of
this happened and take the time to educate myself on

(01:26:59):
ensuring how key spaces are safe for everyone. End quote.
What are you wait a minute? You're gonna take this
time to educate yourself on where not to sexually assault someone. What. Yeah,

(01:27:20):
that makes zero sense. I'm going to take this time,
is that what he's saying. Yeah, I want to reflect
on how all of this happened, m and take the
time to educate myself on ensuring hockey spaces are safe
for everything. And the other part is, again this is

(01:27:44):
Kyle Beach. He goes to the black Hawks you know,
front office, right Quinnville involved. This happened, I was sexually assaulted,
and Quinnville is one of the main dudes who's like,
you know what, let's just business as usual. We gotta
lock in here. It's gonna be a distraction. We can't
go down this road. That's what he said. And then

(01:28:06):
he has the audacity to say, my former team, the
black Hawks, failed Kyle, and I own a share of
that that blame right there. It's like, dude, you're the
you're the head coach, you're the main guy who said
let's move on and not expose the wrongdoing here. And
then you're gonna say that the black Hawks failed him,

(01:28:28):
you failed them, Like, just apologize for what you did.
You can't. You can't apologize sexual assault. You can't apologize
that a way. No, there's no, yeah, absolutely, especially if
you have a history of doing it. That's he's not
the only person, right, right, right, this coach took advantage
of Right. My whole thing is, um, what what classification

(01:28:59):
of said assault was it? Well, I'm not that's the
information I want. Did he just come up to him
and groppe him? Did he It's out there and like
I hesitate to say it because I'm not positive, but
there are documents and this was an investigation, and it
it had something to do with oral sex, right, And

(01:29:24):
you know, the video coordinator is essentially like, I'll ruin
your career if you don't if this doesn't happen, And
that's that, that's what we're you know, that's the backdrop here.
Oh I'm confused. Yeah, I'm confused. I really am. And
I don't want to seem insensitive. I know, I hear you.

(01:29:46):
I'm very confused. So the video coach tells a player,
if you don't perform all sex on me, it might
have been the other way around, like he is performing
I don't let me perform all sex on you ruin
your career? Right? Was the player homosexual? I don't know.

(01:30:12):
I know he was twenty years old at the time.
I have I've been twenty I've been twenty as well. Yes, yes,
I'm just confused. So in that confusion, I'm going to
stop talking about it. I hear you. Hey, I get it,
because I got I have to get answers before I

(01:30:34):
can continue with uh in In responds to it, because
I just I'm trying to just connect the dots and
I don't have enough information. Hey man, I'll tell you this,
whatever it is, it that ain't cool and he's lucky
he didn't get his his fronts knocked out. I'm just
gonna put it there. Hey, I get it. And that's

(01:30:54):
the that's the tricky part of video coach. Yeah, I know.
And that's the thing I think when you're that young.
That's why I say, when you're twenty years old, like
you have to know the difference between what's just a
threat and what what threats can be carried. I'm not
well versed in in the hierarchy of of of hockey coaches, right,

(01:31:18):
but the video coordinator in any other sports zero ability
to do any of that. I'm talking about zero, right, Yeah.
But that's the tricky part because then we get into
all this is victim blaming. This is no, I'm not

(01:31:39):
that that should have never happened. Never, Nobody should be
put in a situation where they feel like that, right,
whether the threat is accurate or not, are viable or not? Mhm.
It's a tricky conversation, right, because look, man, if you

(01:32:01):
use a different example, if I don't know, let's say
I go through, Uh, I just go to a rough
part of a town, right, and I'm just walking down
the street like it's, uh, you know, the best place
on earth, and something bad happens to me. I don't
deserve to have something bad happened to me, But like,

(01:32:21):
you can't put yourself in certain situations, you know what
I mean? Like, and that's where some of these conversations
get tricky, because if you say, hey, you shouldn't have
been in that situation, it turns into like, what are
you trying to say? Are you saying he deserves to
have it? No? Like can we just be reasonable about this?
But that's what those conversations often turn into. Man, that's terrible.

(01:32:45):
It is, it is terrible, But Joe Quinnville looks the
other way, and then that's the apology really, I gotta
I gotta reflect on how to make these workplaces safe. Mean,
like when someone comes to you and says I was
just sexually assaulted, like you do something about it instead

(01:33:06):
of looking the other way that like that is that?
My goodness? Wow, it's some terrible people on the planet.
It's rough man about people want to planet like seriously,
and that wasn't the only guy, right, Like we said
this video coordinator. He goes on to college two more

(01:33:28):
people than a high school or a teenager. It's terrible,
dude all the way around. It's awful, bro like, and
then nobody stop. I'm not holding them yet, Like I'm like,
what going on? Like what were doing? Right? Yes, that's happening.
Yes I'm done. I wouldn't. I'm not about to tell

(01:33:50):
I'm about to know. But that's just me. Look, I'm
you know, that's just me. I'm not going to tell
on you. I'm going to rearrange in your fronts. Violence
isn't the answer unless it is, that's right, occasionally it
can be. Violence is not the answer. I do not.
I am not a proponent of violence at all until

(01:34:15):
you need it right. Well, in that case, like we're
not talking about someone looked at you funny at the bar,
or I don't know, you're wearing a Notre Dame T
shirt and they throw a drink on you. You know,
like this was your well being, your safety right, your
freedoms were violated in those instances. Yeah, that's a game changer, man.

(01:34:42):
I know, yeah, I get it. I totally understand. Man.
All right, coming up next, you know what time it is,
big man. It is time for the Big Three showdown.
Three NFL picks again. The spread, the Big Man's lead

limitations apply. You know, I feel bad this week, big man,
because I'm limited to three picks. You know, I feel
like I've got a good four maybe five. That would

(01:35:45):
all be correct. There's that. Now, the season totals would
indicate that I'm full of hot air with those expectations. Absolutely,
that's exactly what they would indicate. With tend to decay
doesn't mean it, it does for sure. Right, you know,
we'll do for fun. We'll make our three picks, and

(01:36:06):
I'll make too bonus picks and don't count. I have
no interest in that. I'm gonna make them. Okay, that's fine.
I'll do them for just for my own sake. So
the season standings. The Big Man another three and oh
week three and oh for a second straight week. Over
the last three weeks, he's eight and one combined. The

(01:36:26):
Big Man is on fire right here. He is fifteen
and six on the year against the spread, very respectable total.
Right there. I am a measily eleven and ten, just
barely above five, just barely in the money. So I'm
four games back on the season totals. Now, this is

(01:36:50):
all season long, through the regular season, right, one thousand
American dollars on the line and one candy bar of
the winner's choosing. Those are the stakes. So another week,
big Man. I'm hoping for some incorrect selections from you,

(01:37:10):
what do you have us to start this thing? I
think I'm gonna start with my first team, the team
that drafted me, at home against Carolina. Uh. I'm taking
Atlanta uh minus three over Carolina. Yeah. So is this

(01:37:32):
you believe in Atlanta or you just not believing in Carolina. Um,
it's a combination of both. Don't believe in Carolina. UM.
Their defense isn't what it started out to be. They're
just joining it offensively without um, without their their stalwarth
and and it just uh, Atlanta is finding its its groove,

(01:37:58):
led by a young Kyle Pitts who we all thought
would be tremendous, and he and met Ryan connecting together.
It's for the last few weeks have been has been amazing. Okay,
I hate to say it, but I do like that pick.
I think that's a pretty good pick. I just don't
think Carolina has enough without McCaffrey. Yeah, they haven't won

(01:38:21):
one game without him, and Donald's thrown a pick in
four straight games. So I I'm spelling five spelling five
straight from Sam. He looks broken right now. Yeah. You
gotta get very dis joined it very like you know,
it's just not the Carolina we saw to start the season. Yeah, okay,

(01:38:44):
my first election. I look at the New York Jets
and they've got Mike White behind center exactly. Ask yourself,
how many points are the Bengals going to give up
against the Jets? Right? How many? I think the Jets

(01:39:04):
be lucky to score thirteen. So if that's what the
Bengals give up, are they capable of scoring points? Yeah?
They are. I know, I don't love laying eleven and
a half on the road. I don't care give me
the Bengals minus eleven and a half. I think they

(01:39:27):
shut down the Jets offense, and I don't know if
the Jets can shut down Joe Burrow and company here.
So I'm laying the eleven and a hook on the
road right there. We think about that. Huh, that's that's uh.
That's yeah. Gambling. You gotta get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

(01:39:50):
The uncomfortable side hits a lot, that's what. Okay, that's
what they say a lot of people say it. Okay, alright.
Number two For me, I think, um, I'm looking at
this and nothing really tickling my fancy, But I'm gonna
go Tennessee. Tennis. Tennessee is a two and a half

(01:40:13):
point dog on the road in Indianapolis. All right, so
what's the thinking here? Um? I think Tennessee has become
more physical. Uh, They've laned into their physicality and they
will wear opponents down. And we saw it against the Chiefs,

(01:40:42):
the Bills, these top teams, the Seahawks with Russell Wilson,
and so I think it'll be the same in Indianapolis. Yeah.
How about the two running backs in this game? Jonathan
Taylor back to back one hundred yard games, but the

(01:41:05):
last four games Derrick Henry has faced the Colts, He's
averaging well over a hundred yards rushing. So go Jonathan Taylor. Right,
that's what I'm helping for. All Right. I am going
to for my second pick, I'm not going to overcomplicate things,
not expecting Dak Prescott to play. I'm laying the three

(01:41:26):
and going with the Vikings. We've got Cooper rush back there. Yeah.
I'm confident that the Vikings can cover three. So give
me them Sunday night game. They gotta get on the
plus side of five hundred. Give me the Vikes MNUS
three in a primetime spot. Yeah, Okay, that's a good pick. Okay,
We've talked in length about Dak Prescott and should and

(01:41:50):
shouldn't he play and whether he does or not. Uh
so I'll see where you going there. Um, I'm looking
at this San Francisco Chicago game, okay, right? And um,
I mean there's no Matt Naggy Yeah right. Um might

(01:42:11):
not be Khalil MACKI may not be a Khalil Mack.
The offensive line is still bad, but the way you know,
the travel, don't forget justin field. Also, he's he yeah,
he is right now. He is right now, right now.
But I don't like San Francisco's inability to run the

(01:42:32):
ball and them not having um Kittle available. I don't
like that. So that's where I have Pauls. Sounds like
you're not sure here, I mean, don't. I definitely don't
like Chicago in that offensive line. I don't like that.
But San Francisco traveling on the road, what's the weather

(01:42:55):
gonna be like in Chicago? That's where I have Paul's there.
Then you look up at Buffalo in Miami and I'm like,
love Miami is that bad? Well? Fourteen points that's a lot. Huh.
You're feeling the acid orange this week? No no, no, no,

(01:43:16):
no no no. So what I'm gonna do is this
is I can't this is this is tough, man, this
is hard. This is hard for me. But I'm gonna
take I'm taking Pittsburgh. I'm taking Pittsburgh on the road, Cleveland. Uh,

(01:43:39):
four and a half point dogs, Yeah, lock me in Pittsburgh. Okay, Now,
what's the thinking here? Because we took the scenic crowd
to get there, we did. I just wanted to let
you know what my thought process was. Maybe we started
off with the Niners and Bears and ended up on
Big Ben and the Steelers. Yeah, I was working through
it as I was speaking. I was working through it. Uh.

(01:44:01):
And it's a big brother little brother syndrome, right, It's
Pittsburgh ready to let their big brother slap them in
the face, right, Like is that? What? Where is that?
What is that? Where we at? One little brother, one
little brother already smacked him in the face. Yeah, and

(01:44:22):
Baker Mayfield with the bum shoulder, shoulder, I'm not sure
what's going on there. So I'm going with Pittsburgh. The
one thing that I wonder about the Steelers rush defense
against the Seahawks when you know they're just gonna run
the ball, right, and they couldn't stop them. So my
hope is that they can't stop the Browns running game.

(01:44:43):
But I think that's a pretty sensible pick. Hay to
say it. Um, Okay, I'm gonna I'm choosing between two
teams here because you're gonna take me on a journey
to Okay, I'm gonna taking a bit of a journey. Yeah,
we can take the scenic crowd here with my final selections.
So this is the season for the Seahawks is on

(01:45:03):
the line. They have to win against Jacksonville in the
worst way. Their defense has been playing better. I think
they can cover four, but I don't love it, love it,
love it, you know what I mean. And so I'm
looking at the Monday night game and I asked myself,
how many points are the Giants capable of scoring against

(01:45:28):
that ratty Chiefs defense, even in a primetime spot, even
with Kwan Barkley out right, even with Kenny Golladay out,
how many points can they realistically score? I think the
Giants could get around twenty maybe twenty three points. I
think that's possible for them. So if that's the case,

(01:45:50):
let's put at the low end twenty Do I see
the Chief scoring thirty one? Not really? Not right now,
I don't. I'm taking the g Man plus ten on
Monday night football? Huh, what do you think about that?
We You means I have to rub I have to

(01:46:10):
wait till Monday to rub it into you. I like
to get it over and done with it and gloat
for the rest of the You're the king of taking
the one o'clock games. You take the early games, and
I don't want to text this week where it's like
I'm three and oh, you're oh and two. You need
to hit the prime time game. It's like, oh my gosh,

(01:46:33):
this is terrible. I hope that is not the case.
But this has been great, man, it's been great. It
adds a whole another level of of excitement when you're
watching these games. It really does my bonus pick. I'm
taking Jacksonville minus four and because I'm I'm so chesty

(01:46:53):
think I'm gonna go five and oh this week, no
one cares about your bonus PI. That's fine. They can wait,
you know, is Irish get loose? Crazy legs? Looks like
he was running in a pool, Like he literally was
running in waste high water, Yeah, ankle weights and everything. Yeah,

(01:47:18):
you know what I would also do. I would tell
me if you think this is crazy, I would lay
the sixteen and a half. That's Crams going on. I
don't think it is. I think the Rams right, like
they almost caught it, got caught sleepwalking a bit against Detroit.
Lab and a half is a lot. It's a lot

(01:47:39):
of a lot of stuff has to go wrong for
the opposing team. Think about against that Rams defense, how
many points are the Texans gonna Anything can happen though,
that's the that's the problem. Yeah, right, Like that's the
danger of even your you know, eleven and a half

(01:47:59):
point Like I I just don't know. Yeah, I start
playing this game. I look at like Houston last week
they scored five points against Arizona. Rams have a better defense,
you know, but let's say every week is different. You
just it's so weird. That's the NFL is so weird
like that, what does Houston score six? I don't ten.

(01:48:21):
Let's say they Okay, so you've got to you gotta
score seventeen more. You gotta get to thirty points against
that Texans defense. Like yeah, in the sixteen and a half.
Then that's my bonus pick. No, don't count watch my
bonus picks will hit. And that's the way it works,

(01:48:45):
right absolutely. And you know, speaking of the way it works,
you might want to take it from here, big man,
because you know the way it works is if you're
going to listen to someone, if you're going to trust
and believe in someone, when you're talking about wins and losses,
point spreads over unders. We got a guy who spot

(01:49:08):
on every single time. I mean, there is no fluctuation here.
He is spot on. And that's our very own Stephen S.
Dash Oh, I got a guy. That's something Brian's said

(01:49:30):
or heard very often in his adult life. I'm sure
what are you referring to. I don't know, but I
did see the jack Co Notre Dame touchdown as they
take the lead, because they just showed it on the
slow motion and Instagram play. Turns out it wasn't in
slow motion. It was just a regular refraight. By the way,
the NFL weather for tomorrow, it's gonna be about fifty

(01:49:50):
degrees at Chicago and at Cleveland and at Seattle, and
under fifty degrees at Buffalo and at Denver, and then
the Monday night game maybe about forty Greece at Kansas City.
Casey is going to be hosting the Giants Monday night.
Se Kwan Barkley out again with the bad ankle. Wide
receiver Kenny Galladay out as well. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott
with his calf injury reportedly a game time decision Sunday

(01:50:12):
night at Minnesota. Dallas Morning News said tonight it would
be a surprise if Dak starts. Game four of the
World Series. Has Houston up to nothing in Atlanta, bottom
of the fourth inning. The stat for this postseason in
the major leagues the team that scores first in the
playoff game seven and seven this postseason, this could be
way more than two nothing Houston Astros. At the moment,

(01:50:35):
they are over seven with runners in scoring position. They've
left seven men on base in the first three four
innings and in fact Jose Al tv solo homer in
the fourth made it the to nothing advantage now bottom
of the fourth sitting. The Game five would be uh
Sunday night on Fox TV. Game six would be Tuesday
night in Houston on Fox. As for the Irish, ranked

(01:50:56):
eleventh in the country, they are leading early third quarter
at home against North care A Lina twenty four to
twenty halftime at number five Ohio State, Buckeyes lead seventeen
ten against Penn State late third quarter. Undefeated and nineteenth
ranked s MU has taken the lead at Houston thirty
four to thirty on FS one. Fifteenth ranked Oklahoma State
now leads fifty two to three against Kansas early fourth quarter,

(01:51:19):
and Auburn is leading tenth ranked Old Miss to twenty
now in the third and late third quarter. Mississippi State
over twelveth rank Kentucky thirty one to ten. Among the
other games in progress, two minutes left for you Tip
which is six and one this season, but trailing all night.
They're down twenty five at Florida Atlantic late in regulation.

(01:51:42):
As for Oregon State, which is three and one in
the Pack twelve conference, they start the fourth quarter trailing
at Cal thirty one to seventeen. Boise State is just
three and four this year. Boise is losing at Colorado
State early third quarter, sixteen fourteen. USC is leading winless
Arizona late in the third thirty eight twenty one, but
very bad news for future first round pick. Wide receiver

(01:52:04):
Drake London was injured on one of his touchdown catches
at USC tonight. This is a guy who's close to
ninety receptions over a thousand yards already this season, and
he had his leg in an air cast and he
was in tears going on, so major injury, it does appear.
This is a guy who had fifteen receptions at Notre
Dame last Saturday night, had sixteen catches in the USC

(01:52:25):
game the game before against Utah. So bad news for
USC and specifically wide receiver Drake London. Earlier Number one
Georgia gotta win number two Cincinnati and number four Oklahoma
as well. Top ten matchup at Michigan State went to
the Spartans in a comeback Kenneth Walker five touchdown runs.
They were down to Michigan and believe it or not,

(01:52:46):
came back to win down thirty to fourteen late third quarter,
beat him thirty seven, thirty three Oregon and Wake Forest
with wins. Wisconsin beat number nine Iowa Baylor over Texas
Miami one at number seventeen pit West Virginia with two
touchdowns fourth quarter beat number twenty two Iowa State. As
for the NBA, Washington in double overtime defeated Boston. The

(01:53:07):
Knicks or five and one after winning at New Orleans.
Detroit was on four but did get a win against
Orlando Pistons rookie Kig Cunningham and his NBA debut one
for eight shooting from the floor, two points, seven rebounds
for the man selected number one overall. They didn't play
him but about twenty minutes in this game, but the

(01:53:27):
team did get a rare w And this from high
school football at l A last night. U c l
A commits six ft four quarterback Justin Martin Inglewood High
School through thirteen touchdown passes in one game against their
rival morning side. Inglewood won the game a hundred six
to nothing. What it was eighty six nothing at halftime.

(01:53:49):
The losing coach said he asked the officials before halftime
to just go with the running clock and was denied.
Needless to say, there is some fallout from starters being
left in and the score being run up. And in fact,
if you look at the scoreboard, the final score on
the board shows zero to six because they don't have
enough digits for a hundred. There was a hundred six

(01:54:10):
to nothing for Inglewood High School last night in l A.
Back to you. Oh, that's rough. How do you deny
a running clock when it's uh that you call the
mercy rule six and nothing at halftime at the very least,
you gotta go running clock? How do you have the
heart to be like, no, we're gonna play this thing
out and its entirety, you just gotta say, let's go home. Guys.

(01:54:36):
It's like it's a rap here man, nothing else to see.
That's that hurts? Yeah, right, that is. That's pretty crazy
right there. We got a lot to do before we
get on out of here. There is a stud player
in the making. If you could choose where he ends up,

(01:54:57):
where would you choose? We'll hit on at and get
you all set for Week eight of the NFL slate
of games as well, so stay tuned for that. I'm
Brian No. He's from Salami sees Fox Sports Radio. I'm
Brian No. He's from salam here on Fox Sports Radio.

(01:55:21):
What beat is this? It almost sounds like the beat
underneath the skit on the rap album before the song.
You know what I mean? Who is this? Roberto? What
is this over here? You don't agree with that? Conn't right?

(01:55:44):
They got a couple of good songs just that beat.
Come on, man, that I didn't do a whole lot
from Is this like a skit beat? Sounds like a
skit beat to me, it sounds like bad. I'm a
homework assignment for you, Brian. That what's okay? Download dub
C and the Mad Circle. Huh. All right, they'll take
you back to some real hip hop. Okay, you can

(01:56:04):
do that. The home works both ways here, Okay, I
didn't feel down the homework assignment. The homework assignment I
have for you. Guys, We'll go with a little divine
intervention from Slayer front to back. Check out the album
bring it right back to You'll love it. You'll thank

(01:56:26):
me later. By the way, speaking of thanking us later,
how about Kenneth Walker the third He's saying to everybody
who's rooting for Sparty, you could thank me now. Huh.
You had five touchdown runs. Here is one of them
on the Spartans Radio network, the handoff. Kenneth Walker blows
through the Little Reason on his feat at the Tan

(01:56:49):
Pie's into the end zone touchdown m s you do
you believe it? With a twenty three yard touchdown run.
That's his fifty day of the ball game. Wow. That's
crazy man and Jim Harbaugh in Michigan, they go down
in flames. That was an epic as an epic performance

(01:57:12):
by Walker, but that's an epic just letting one slip
right on through the fingers. Right, Michigan has a sixteen
point lead and they're turning the ball over numerous times
in the second half, ugly turnovers to It's brutal, brutal.
Here's here's my question too, as we spin it forward here.

(01:57:35):
I saw this headline. I thought it was interesting. Arch Manning,
he is the number one recruit in the class of
stud quarterback. He visited Clemson. That was his final false stop.
He tries to figure out where he's going to go
to school. Now, if it were up to you or I, right,

(01:57:57):
you would choose he'd go to San Diego State. I
would choose he'd go to Notre Dame. Let's say that's
not on the table, right, He's not going to go
to your favorite team, whether it's me, you, or anybody
else listening. Where would you want to see Arch Manning go.
If it were up to you could pick any team
in America that is not your favorite team, what team

(01:58:20):
would you choose for him? To play his college ball,
like someone like UCF, something like, no, I don't know
why they caught me off guard. That's very well played
by you. Now, But really, who would you choose? Um?
I would probably mm hmm. That's a good question. When

(01:58:46):
you take our schools away, then yeah, I would say, um,
let's do Let's go Cincinnati. I thought you might go there.
I'm going Cincinnati. Yeah, you know, I would go one

(01:59:09):
or two places. Oh man is Kyron Williams, Notre Dame
running back is on the sideline writhing in pain. That
is not good whatsoever. The reason I say a small
school is if you look at it, uh huh. The
top tier quarterbacks, it's not necessarily you know, they don't

(01:59:29):
come from the powerhouses. They don't. Yeah, there are a
lot that are not from your traditional powers. Yeah, so
I mean that has no bearing on what I mean.
Look at look at my homes, look at Josh Allen. Yeah,
you do have some of your you know, Deshaun Watson,

(01:59:51):
Trevor Lawrence. Yeah, you get some of them. You get
some of them. Your two was you know, well, I
mean is that what is that what we're gonna That
was tongue in cheek but I mean, if that's how
you feel, yeah, you know, I would go with Um.

(02:00:11):
I would either go with Georgia. I don't mind Georgia.
Georgia would be okay. That would be a good for him,
Kirby smartest fun to me. I wouldn't have a problem
like if Georgia cranks it up to like they're winning
a couple of championships in a row, and yeah, I
might get sick of them, But um, I think I've

(02:00:31):
you've got a long You've got a lot of slack
right to catch up to Obama level before I truly
get sick of you. Like I just you're not gonna
have sustained success like that. So I would be okay
with Georgia. Or how about Texas? Right, you get they're
gonna be in the SEC that's yeah, I'm just thinking

(02:00:52):
of a powerhouse where if they're back in the top five,
it is a lot of fun when Texas is in
the mix like that, and if he could help that,
they are worst teams that he could end up with.
But I like Georgia. George is probably my final answer
on that one. Yeah, Cincinnati would be great. Listen to you.

(02:01:16):
I'm just saying it will be great. How about this headline?
To SEC Commissioner Greg Sanky, he says he wants either
a four team playoff or a twelve team playoff. He opposes,
what you want the most big men and eight team playoff?
He says, no, get it out of here. Four or twelve?
You think about that? It does. I think it's the

(02:01:37):
best when you look at the top eight right now
outside of today's losses. Yeah, the why would you go
to twelve? Yeah? Yeah, it's man, you can have some
years like this team is in the playoff written Okay, alright,

(02:01:59):
have fun with your five touchdown lost Obama. You know
it's gonna be rough. Um okay, uh. Week eight, a
couple of games, rapid fire style. Okay, quick questions. You're
not gonna take the points. You're not gonna lay the
points with the Rams. You're taking them with the Houston Texans.
That's what you're doing for fun, for fun, you're doing that.

(02:02:22):
Would you take the points with the Lions? Hunt there
three and a half point home dogs against Philly? You
would do that? No? No, no, I wouldn't. You're laying
them with Philly? Yeah, yeah, and at one game we
didn't touch on Patriots at the Chargers. Right, last time
we saw the Chargers, they stunk up to join against
the Ravens. Patriots beat them down forty five nothing last year.

(02:02:45):
What are you see in that game tomorrow? I see
the Chargers having some retribution. Yeah, okay, alright, last question
here we mentioned the A C. C. Head football coaches
their favorite hand Halloween candies. These are the bottom of
the barrel. I want you to rank them. Okay, keep
this mind. Black licorice, Runts, atomic fireball, candy corn. Rank

(02:03:07):
them best to worst. The worst candy corn, no fireball,
and what was the other one? Runts Runts candy corn
is the best of that mixture right there, easily
