Speaker 1 (00:00):
You don't listening to Fox Sports. Oh what's going on everybody? Man?
We got ball ball ball huh, a smart gut sport
of ball, all kinds of stuff going on in the
top twenty five. Of course, we'll get you all set
for week eleven in the NFL, big man, How are
you doing tonight? I'm good? How are you? Az Tacks?
(00:21):
Already have a win? It's always a good day man
when the Aztecs, uh, you know, you can come into
the show and they no stress today, No like win
that you had to sweat out on a Saturday. They
get it done against UNLV got it done. Yeah, irish
with the cake walk today fifty five to nothing. So
(00:45):
no stress for either of us today. It's a beautiful time.
It's a good thing man, right. And you know my
Aztecs played, uh play a little round ball too, okay
and beat Arizona State. You know, we'd like to pound
those Power five conferences. Man. You know, well, there's one
(01:05):
member of Power five conference that got whooped today. That
would be uh Sparty. Good party takes it on the
chin fifty six to seven against Ohio State. I mean
it was like, I mean, I love it because it's
setting up for next weekend. Right, this is what we
(01:29):
know where game days gonna be next weekend. Okay, we
know what's going on there, um, and that's Michigan and
Ohio State, which is a huge game. Now that this
is a gigantic game now or something Hardball has not
(01:51):
been able to do in his tenure in Michigan is
beat Ohio State with or without Urban Meyer. And more
times than not it's been boat Race City. There's been
a couple of close yeah, but there have been a
lot of whoopings that Jim Harbaugh has suffered. So I'll
tell you this. What's on the line in that game
(02:13):
next week is a seat at the table, uh for
the college football playoffs. Yeah, you're, I mean you've got
if you win that game next week, I mean, you're
you're right there in the Big Ten Championships. You have
one more game where you got Iowa. Right, but you're
(02:35):
sitting there right like, and no one's worried about Iowa.
Isn't that right, Iowa, Sam, no one's worried about Iowa.
Settled down. They put it on Illinois today. You know,
you never know when those Hawkeyes are gonna rise up.
But now if you're talking about the college football playoff table. Right,
We've got Thanksgiving around the around the corners. You're at
(02:58):
the table if you're the winner of the Ohio eight
Michigan game. You are sitting at the dinner table, and
you've got your silverware is all set up for your
drinks all set up for you. You've got the napkin
or the bib, whatever you have. Everything is perfectly set
up for you. If you win next week, that's it.
This is Jim horrorballs everything right now. People have been
(03:27):
waiting and waiting and waiting for Jim and his dockers
for to pay off. They had a stumble, right, had
a stumble, lost to Michigan State. They've rebounded, found themselves
ranked six. Ohio State is fourth. They beat Ohio State.
(03:53):
That puts him in the top four in my opinion.
Now you settle down. It's Lulu Lemon. I think that's
the official thing for Jim Harbaugh, not doctors. Right, But
he's really he's got up. He's got up his resume.
It's not just about the pants he's wearing. He's got
to upgrade his resume from the doctors to Lulu Lemon. Right,
there's a reason why he's taking a pay cut has
(04:15):
something to do with not being able to beat Ohio
State one time. You think, hey, guys, take some take
back some of that money there till I can get
this thing squared away. Yeah. Yeah, but man, Ohio State
has looked really good lately. Now. I know we always
we tend to look here and now and we spin
it forward. That's typically what we always do in college football.
(04:37):
But I'm gonna go against the grain. I want to
look back just for one second here, because the Michigan
Michigan State debate was a heavy one because, as we
all know, Michigan State beat Michigan, but the playoff committee
had the Wolverines ranked higher although they lost the head
to head. So you could look at a result today
(04:59):
against the Ohio State and Sparty just gets its teeth
kicked in. They lose fifty six to seven. Good lord,
you had C. J. Stroud, the Ohio State quarterback. He
threw for six touchdowns in the first half. Right ugly
from Michigan State. But I still contend and it really
doesn't matter now. I think Sparty should have been ranked
higher because it's not about rankings, aren't projections. They aren't
(05:23):
predictions as to what's going to happen going forward. It's
an assessment as of right now. This is what the
top twenty five is. And I think the Committee screwed
that up. Now they got off the hook with what
happened today. It doesn't even matter. It's a moot point now.
But it just makes me wonder if the Committee is
(05:44):
faced with another decision that's similar, they're gonna screw that
up also. They may, they might, they may Um the
committee waivers right it Sometimes some weeks should think oh, okay,
they got it, and then the next week they completely
(06:04):
go out, you know, outside of of the realm of reality.
It's interesting for me to see just what happens this week, uh,
(06:24):
the week before the conference championships and all of that,
how this top four is going to shake out? Are
It's it's a couple of teams I'm looking at now.
We know George is there. We know Alabama. They just
fought and fought off um a tough, tough Arkansas team,
(06:48):
give him everything they could handle. Not an easy win,
not an easy win by any stretch of the imagination.
How about that Obama favorite by twenty and a half.
I mean you know, Arkansas was up to challenge. They said, Hey,
look we're gonna we're gonna go and play you. Interesting're
gonna just slap us in the lips. Now, we're not
who they play. We're not New Mexico State, stop up
(07:10):
in competition this week. This is not the citadel Um.
So it's it's gonna be interesting how they do this
with Cincinnati blowing out s MU. Yeah, I mean, you'll
think this is an out of body experience. But Cincinnati
(07:32):
whooping up on SMU. That's an eight and two football
team that was ranked at times during the season and
Cincinnati dust them by thirty four points as it stands
right now like that, that's a very quality that's an
impressive win. That's going to get the Committe's attention. That's
a good win. And so it you know they currently
sent five right now. Yeah, um, Oregon plays in a
(07:57):
little bit, how about that? Or again, is an underdog.
We've seen this before, the number three ranked team. Remember
when Michigan State was at Perdue, they were underdogs. And
now we have number three Oregon on the road and
they are three and a half point underdogs at Utah,
who's currently ranked three. I believe that's rights them. But
(08:20):
uh and triple over time right man, No, no, no,
I'm not I'm not taking away from Uh. They got
out to an early lead. I think it was like
for or something like, I don't know, and then they
just let them fight back and get into it. But
that's a big game for Oregon. Not depending on how
(08:40):
that game shakes out, Man, it'll be really interesting to
see where Michigan is placed. Uh, Cincinnati and you know,
Ohio State may move well, they're they're going to move
up no matter what Oregan does. They're gonna move up
the way they just destroyed the seventh raning team in
(09:01):
the nation. So I predict Georgia will be one Alabama
to you know what, Well, they can't. They can't leap
from Georgia because Georgia's ten and oh um. I would
say that Ohio State goes to three and Cincinnati possibly
(09:25):
moves into four. It would take Oregon losing, which could
happen struggling, I don't know if you're struggling. Yeah, I
think a loss loss with loss loss definitely gets them
out of there. I mean there, that's two losses there.
You know, they're back to eleven. Twelve thirteen. Somewhere in
there does the committee start thinking about does Ohio State?
(09:48):
Can you entertain the thought of Ohio State leaping Alabama?
I mean, we're in the mode right now just who
are the top four? It's really about who are the four?
Not where are the four seated? But that man, urs
I would much rather be seated second and not have
to face Georgia in that first game instead of being
(10:08):
seated fourth, and as it stands right now, subject to change,
have to face Georgia in that first playoff game. That's
a big deal. That is a big deal. So you know, look,
Cincinnat easy eleven and their ranked five right now, you're
doing everything they're supposed to do. And Ohio State dominated
Alabama and Georgia dominated. Georgia played a uh middle school.
(10:33):
So I'm so curious the scenarios that we'll see over
the next couple of weeks where we've had the what
if What if Obama loses on the last second field
goal against Georgia. Man, that's gonna be, right, is Alabama
playoff team? What if? You say, no, can't be. They could,
(10:59):
but I doubt they can't be. They can't do it.
They can't do it. If Ohio I get it, I understand.
But if Ohio State is sitting at eleven in one
or Michigan is sitting at eleven in one, and you know, Irish,
the Irish, no, no, no, no no, they because they
(11:19):
don't have a conference champion that that hurts them. You
know this, That's why I told you they should have
stayed in the a SEC this year. Not having a
conference championship hurts the Irish when it comes down to this,
unless they're undefeated. That's the other scenario is what if
Oregon loses tonight against a ranked opponent, and what if
(11:39):
they go on to win the Pack twelve championship, they're
out with two losses. Yeah, you're right there, that's the second.
Cincinnati would be definitely in the top four. Yeah, how
about this? What a crazy scenario this would be. Let's
just say Georgia blows the doors off of Alabama or
(12:01):
you know, wins convincingly where you really it's gonna be
hard to put Alabama in the playoff. I've been looking
at Cincinnati and as a Notre Dame, Honk, I'm rooting
for the Bearcats to lose, right like I want Notre
Dame to go to the playoff if there's a seat
at the table open. But the weird thing is there
might be two seats open, So it could work out
(12:22):
where Cincinnati gets the last seats and Notre Dames on
the outside looking in. Or if there are two seats available,
well Cincinnati staying unbeaten would actually be a good thing
for Notre Dame. So I I just don't know how
many seats are gonna be available. Yeah, because if if
Alabama fat, well, look they had they had a tough game.
(12:44):
They got the iron Ball next week. So let's not
just count out Auburn. We know how that that thing goes.
No bone knicks get counting out? Okay, al right, well,
you know you never know, man, Those things are are
freaky and spooky when it comes to those type of rivalries.
You never know. Um, they might need three kick sixes
in that one. But you look at Alabama if they
(13:10):
lose to Georgia in the SEC championship game. If Oregon loses, uh,
those are the two spots that will be available. Now,
those two spots will probably be taken by Ohio State
or Michigan. One of those spots depending on what happens
next week. Um, it's safe to say that either of
(13:32):
those two who wins that game next week will probably
win the conference championship. Correct, you would think, but Iowa
Sam's Iowa Hawkeyes might rise up. Who knows? Could you
imagine that? Think about that, whoever wins the Ohio State
Michigan game goes on to lose the Big Ten champions
(13:55):
an embarrassment for the conference that you probably you wouldn't
have a team in right begin wins next week, either
team they both have one loss, Like if they would
be out, Yeah, and Notre Dame would most definitely push
their way into that seme on, let's get him in something.
(14:21):
You want Iowa to win, Go Iowa. Um, but that's
you know, Cincinnati. If if that happens, Cincinnati wins out,
wins their conference championship, then they're in. I mean I
think that, Yeah, I think if they went out, they're
going to be in because like it would have to
work out perfectly for them to get exactly screwed, you
(14:44):
know what I mean? Like, I just think there's too
much that there's teams ahead of them that have to
lose by process of elimination. I think they're in if
they went out, We'll say, will root for a Bearcat's loss? Right? No? No, no,
although it would help say diego state. Yeah, you haven't
given up that. Huh, you haven't given up hope? Yeah?
(15:09):
Where are they? Let's go down? All right? We got
a lot of ground to cover tonight, Big Man, Big
Big Show. What is the most intriguing headline heading into
Week eleven of the NFL. We'll figure it out. Coming up.

Nielsen Report limitations apply. Now I do have to report
to you, big man, our guy Don Brown. I always
asked Don Brown, our technical producer extraordinaire, like how he's doing,
what's going on in his life? You know, we catch
up each Saturday evening and uh, he basically said, he
went out last night, and uh, he's not as young
(16:54):
as he once was. Right, it was out, Its having
a good time. Nothing went crazy, right, like just out
there had bent a couple of elbows. But man, the
hit flexers work a little differently than in his twenties,
you know what I mean. Like, Uh, he's just he's
seeing the signs of some aging. But he's good to
(17:16):
go right now, totally fine. Age. He's rallying don oh
do you I just turned thirty this summer, make that aging?
What what would you say? Now? You played in the
NFL for thirteen years, man, So there's a little bit
of a difference right there. But um, just generally speaking,
(17:37):
what were some of the things that you think would
have shown some wear and tear if you never played
it down in the NFL from the age of thirty
to where you are at forty five? Oh, man, i'd
be it'd be over and I wouldn't even be slowing down.
I'd be hooping every week, three or four times a week,
all kinds of stough. Okay, so let me get this straight.
(17:58):
You're saying, Don Brown, you really have no excuse. I
don't want to hear zero. Don didn't he didn't play
a sport in high school? That is just a lot.
What did you play? I was? I was a three
sport athlete from sixth grade to when I graduated. What
you play? You play basketball and football? State champion white
(18:19):
receiver in quarterback? Okay? What were you? What were you?
What were your numbers? You see? Yere uh? Nothing crazy? Okay?
We were team oh winky, Yeah, all right, I'll do it.
What about your defensive numbers, a few picks, you know,
nothing not nothing crazy, nothing crazy. You know, I'm doing
(18:39):
radio right now. I never went to college and playballs,
so you know that you're saying enough, that's so funny.
I'm on the radio, all right, I got you. You know,
I didn't know about Don Brown's high school career. What
about hoop Okay, yeah, that's that's where I'm definitely not
good at. I'm riding the fine on the hoops, but
(19:00):
he was there. If I'm the best player on the team,
the team is not any good. Okay, okay, well track
stand up? Okay, alright, So maybe a little wear and tear,
but nothing to where thirty year olds like, oh my gosh,
I'm forty five. My body six. That's the fact. That's
(19:22):
real talk, though, that's that's a fact. I get it. Yeah,
So what what what part? This might be a what
uh what body part? Based on surgeries, NFL, wear and
tear and all that, which body part would you say
is the oldest? My knees, your knees, So what age
bracket would you put those knees in? Oh? I mean
(19:42):
I need I could honestly get both my knees replaced today. Yeah,
like I could go today, but my doctor wants to
hold off until I'm in my mid to late fifties
so he doesn't have to do it twice on both knees. Man,
how about that. Yeah, I've heard the knee replacement thing
not exactly a walk in the park, you know, No, no,
(20:04):
and it's one should just have to go through at
one time, not multiple times. Yeah, it doesn't sound too
great over there, big man, but I wish you all
the best time. Well, you know, we all make choices.
When I smoke you in the three point contest, I
don't want you to cite your knees. No, that would
probably be more of my laborers, because they tore both
my labors and never got them fake. So there's also
(20:26):
that some days I can't lift my hands above my head.
But you know, but you're still gonna win the three
point contest. Well, yeah, just from sheer will. I'm just
thinking in my head right now, what I feel bad
if I win this three point contest, which I will do,
(20:46):
and then the next day or the next week, you know,
you're just your body is betraying. That's that's part that
that's part of the course. Man, coaches coaching my my
son's basketball games, baseball game next day, bodies betraying me
just from I'm not even doing anything, just standing and
(21:08):
walking on the hard wood. Yeah yeah, Hey, listen, man,
I get it, and I'm not doing this to complain
because we made a choice to do its joyce turned
out okay, Just to throw that out there, Absolutely, there's
a plus side to it, no doubt. You know, you
drove in a nice car, you go back to the
(21:29):
nice place. You know, there's some advantages. It's just you
don't have labram's function normally. Our cartilage in my knee
labrams and cartilage, you know. Yeah, um yeah, I strained
a calf muscle by sitting, so yeah, that's happened to
me before it too, So yeah, the joys of aging. Now,
we are going to stretch our legs out here and
(21:51):
look at the best of the week. Eleven storylines here momentarily,
and there are a few there are for a few
really interesting headline out We will put our heads together
and figure out what is the most intriguing headline. First though,
you know, I don't think this man shows any effects
of aging, you know, clearly not with his uh the
(22:14):
mental side. Right, he's as sharp as uh. You know,
I don't know what the age bracket is for the
sharpest is sharpest, is sharp can get and physically, you know,
I wouldn't put it past a friend of America to
still be, you know, one of the world's strongest men.
You know that is our own update anchor. Yes, Mr
(22:39):
Steve to say, I believe the word you are looking
for with marble sharp as a marble sharp as. I
was thinking like sharp as a twenty year old. You
know what I mean, like sharp as there's no saying
like we we all get to a certain age where
when you watch Jeopardy when you're younger, Oh, man, I
could be on this show one day and then you
hit forty and I never gonna be on Jeopardy anymore.
(23:01):
I could get the answer, but now it takes long.
You know, the buzzer wos out. I just I couldn't
get into time, and you know, and then you had zero,
zero or minus dollars. So we'll tell you at this point,
that's a sentence I've never said in my life ever, like, oh,
I could totally be on Jeopardy. Well you've said the
second half, then, right, he said, oh yeah, it's over now.
There's no chance now exactly. We had a lot of
(23:23):
blowouts in college football today. There was a very close
game at number twenty two ranked U T San Antonio,
tenan O coming in hosting a seven and three U
A B team and the Roadrunners trailing in the final seconds.
They have driven down toward the goal line. Here's how
it sounded, David Crane the call on lear Field, final
seconds of the game, trailing thirty one at home to
(23:47):
U A B. Third down goal from the one seven
seconds to play in the game. Harris takes the snap
and slow he picks it up. He's gonna throw a
passive the ends o cook cart for the put down
till they escape again and still undefeated. Thirty four thirty
(24:09):
one over you A B. Number two Alabama be twenty
first ranked dark and so forty two to thirty five
starting up in a few minutes. Number three Oregon at
number twenty three Utah. There was the Ohio State game.
There's just one team we're gonna mention here because the
Buckeyes absolutely dominated. It was forty nine nothing in the
first half, fifty six seven over Michigan State. The final
(24:31):
next Saturday, Ohio State at Michigan on Fox TV noon
Eastern time pharamount of the old TV ratings for that one.
I do believe victories for Georgia, Cincinnati, Michigan, and Notre
Dame in the top ten. We're still half an hour
away from the game on Fox TV with number nine
Oklahoma State at Texas Tech right now, still two minutes
(24:51):
to go at the l A Coliseum on Fox U
c l A ahead at USC fifty five thirty three.
Now they've never scored fifty five against the Trojans before.
USC is gonna fall to four and six on this
season and looking for a head coach, looking for a
defense as well, and among other things. Clemson beat number
ten Wake four is forty eight to twenty seven. The
(25:13):
number eleven Baylor at Kansas State matchup is on FS
one right now, and that is at halftime with Baylor
in the lead seventeen to seven. Oklahoma ranks thirteen beat
Iowa State twenty eight to twenty one. Old Miss versus
Vandy about to start b y U in Wisconsin H
one Texas A and M and Pitt with victories Iowa
over Illinois thirty three, twenty three and NC State got
(25:37):
to win against Syracuse forty one to seventeen. I will
say Syracuse basketball has just lost at home to Colgate
on eighty five. As for the NBA games, we've got
plenty nine tonight. But the one of note that's going
on right now, the Houston Rockets have lost thirteen games
in a row. Under a minute to play, they're losing
a New York one oh three to nine six, So
(25:59):
this had put Houston at one and fifteen on the season.
The Pelicans actually one last night, so New Orleans is
three and fourteen on the season, but they're quickly trailing
after the first quarter. Thirty two nineteen at Indiana, And
two notes from the NFL. Kids City Chiefs activated running
back Clyde Edwards, alaiav injured reserve. Philadelphia activated running back
Miles Sanders. Back to you, good stuff, Steve. I'm Brian, No,
(26:23):
he's from salam here on Fox Sports Radio and Steve,
I didn't hear anything about the number nineteen rank in
the country Friday we go. I don't care. I wasn't
here Friday. It was Yeah, it was a game that
kicked off, so people will sleep, so keep the people
an update yeah, it was. It was a W, but
(26:43):
it was and this has been the truth for over
half their games this year. Tell him, Steve Close, how
is it this? Oh they won again, that kind of
that kind of game. Put it in the W. Yeah,
they're going up against two A nine U N l V.
But it's yet another W for the aastics and so
the big game against Boise State to finish things out
(27:04):
on Friday holiday weekend next weekend. By the way, even
as we've been speaking, U c l A scored again.
It's sixty two thirty three at USC with a minute ago.
By the way, how about U c l A quarterback
Dorrian Thompson Robinson. He got flagged for basically going t
o He scored a touchdown, ran it in and then
(27:25):
a fan gave him a hat and he he autographed
the hat right after scoring and got flagged for it
was a kid wearing USC GARB but with a U
c l A hat for him to sign. So he
comes down to the first drow after the quarterback scores
a touchdown. It's not halftime yet, it's during the game,
and he signs it. The flag gets thrown, which gave
(27:46):
s C great field position for the ensuing drive, which
meant they scored before halftime. So was it a plant
somebody get this twelve year old to get him to sign?
But apparently the l A time says that when U
c l A visited a couple of years ago, this
same quarterback like threw his wristbands into the crowd and
this kid got it. So now he's got a sign
hat to match. I love it for the fans. I'll
(28:10):
tell you what. If you're a USC fan and you
gave the quarterback the U c l A quarterback a
U c l A hat to sign, your banned from
being a USC fan from this day forward. Right, You're
kicked out of the club. I can't do that. That's
unless you know you got fifteen yards for your team.
(28:30):
So yeah, right, that's the only way that you could
spin it. But I don't know that you can tell
that would be the case. Right, But U c l
A dump truck in USC. That's one thing where you know,
if you get a celebration penalty, if you're winning by
thirty some points, it doesn't matter. You know, you're it's
all good. That's the time to do it. If you're
going to Now, how about this as we turn our
(28:52):
attention to the NFL Big Man Week eleven headlines, I'm
just curious what you think is the best one. A
couple of Jews from how about Cam Newton QB one?
Can I get them the Hawks game? Here? I love
Cam Newton k QB one. Right, yeah, So you've got
(29:15):
the Carolina Panthers. They are taking on their former coach, right,
Ron Rivera, So Washington at Carolina. You heard what he said, right,
I'm back? Yeah, and he said it false settled right
like I'm back. He said, it's almost white opera singer
over there. That was fun. I felt good for Cam Newton. Right,
(29:37):
he's been sitting on his couch for half the season.
The phone rings, He's back with Carolina and he's scoring
against the Arizona car We have that? Do we have
that sound bite of the reporter asking him how does
it feel? After he came into the game and then
ran a touchdown in and then scored a touchdown post game,
he said, will last week, I was eating a bowl
(30:01):
of cereal at this time. I mean, that's just that's brilliant.
We do have the we've got that, but the bowl
of cereal one right, literally, how do you feel about
you know, blah blah blah blah blah. Well, last week
(30:21):
I was eating a bowl of cereal at this time.
You feel me, That's what he said, Right, Yeah, that
puts it in perspective. It does. You're sitting up at
home on the couch and the next thing you know,
you know, you're scoring. You're back to what you're doing,
what you love and having an opportunity to really extend
his career. This is a perfect situation for him, It
(30:42):
really is. Carolina has just missed out on all the
quarterbacks since he's left. I mean, it's it's been nothing,
literally a dumpster fire quarterback. Not saying he's going to
be there long term, but I'll tell you this, in
a league of parody where anything can happen because us,
no teams really want to, you know, run away with
(31:09):
this thing. I mean you you look down even the
even the eight and two Titans. You're just like, but
the Titans, you know what I mean. So in five
and five, them still in the hunt. If cam Newton
can capture lightning in the bottle and get them to
(31:31):
a place where they can push Tampa Bay for or
or even New Orleans because we're not even sure what
Tampa Bay is gonna do for this division title, then
this is going to be one heck of a story. Yeah,
And as it stands right now, Carolina is the seventh
seats and currently a playoff team. And you you look
(31:51):
at their record coming up, they got Washington Dolphins, falconsky winnable, winnable, winnable,
right you You you go into that Bills game at
eight and five, Now you got action and then you
got the Books twice and the Saints that the last
three weeks of the season, so you can very well,
(32:12):
you know, and I'm not saying he's gonna be the
cam of Oh, we don't know which Cam Newton he's
gonna be. We really don't. I think he's gotta. I
don't think he's gonna be the m v P cam anymore.
I mean, that was that was lightning. That was literally
like the one time thing. But look at last year
eight touchdowns, ten picks. But look at who he's throwing too.
(32:35):
Compared to the here and now, when you've got DJ Moore,
Christian McCaffrey, you've got more talent surrounding you right now. Yeah,
Christian McCaffrey himself is oh gosh, man, Yeah, that kid
is special. So you've got cam facing his former head
coach Washington, Carolina. I mean, it's gonna be hard to
(32:57):
top this Cowboys Chiefs game. Come on, we've got action. Man,
A good week late afternoon game, that's gotta be. I
love the cam facing Ron Rivera's former head coach. I
love that angle, but man, I don't even know if
that's gonna be on a featured screen. I can max
out at six screens in the early window. I can
do all of them. You can do all. I got
(33:19):
six out of nine. You know, I don't know if
one of those six I do, but I just do
the computer version. So I go four on the computer,
and then I can get too. Locally. I can do
a maximum of six. If I'm not all, I do
all of them two three, four or five, six, seven, eight, nine,
(33:43):
So it'll be nine. So I'll have eight on and
then I'll have one on my other TV. Like, so
I have like a big screen, like it's giant, take
up the whole wall. Um. So when I look at
the game mix screens, I mean the little squares are
(34:04):
still relatively big, so I catch all of the games.
So like, now that I'm processing this, I've taking a
chunk out of your lead in the big want you
want to do it now? You want right now? It
sounds like you want to do it now. Just throw
it out there. I took a little bite like you're
trying to do it now. I'm just saying I'm trailing
(34:26):
by three games on the season. Seems to me like
you're trying to do something right now. I'm just throwing
it out there based on all of your screens. You
got screens all over you see all these games. Maybe
I have a blind spot. Maybe that should be worth
one game right there, the screens out of the window
last week. But we'll talk about that later. Absolutely, we'll
talk about that later. All right, come it up next man,
(34:50):
there's ratting and then there's this what a story. We'll
dive into that. I'm Brian no Easy from salam This
is Fox Sports Radio. I'm probably no he's he from
Salam here on Fox Sports Radio. Just underway in this
Oregon Utah game, ore Agon the number three team in
the country, three and a half point dogs on the
(35:13):
road at Utah, and it looks like Utah is just
gonna be content playing smash Mouth tonight. Man, they're gonna
try to establish the line of scrimmage. Just run the
ball right down Oregon's throat. We'll see if they can
do it or not. That's what they're gonna try to do. Huh.
Catl Whittingham's like, yeah, I got a crazy idea. Let's
run the ball down their throat. What do you think?
(35:33):
Utah is a big, physical team, and we had our
hands for the Aztecs. We dispatched him, but it was
still you know, we still had to work at it.
It's right, Yeah, thirte triple overtime. Now this is a story. Wow,
this is a crazy one big man. So Antonio Brown,
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver. So he's been accused
(35:56):
of obtaining a fake vaccination car, a fake COVID nineteen
vaccination card. So this is his former personal chef that's
making this accusation. The chef's name is Stephen Ruiz, and
he says, yeah, A B's girlfriend reached out to me
(36:18):
to try to get a fake VAX card and he
tried to do it, wasn't able to says he has
a text message to prove it. And the reason he
says that he went public with this is because this
former chef says that Brown failed to pay him ten
thousand dollars that he owed him. So he's like, all right,
I'll get you back. This whole trying to obtain a
(36:39):
fake vaccination card, well, guess what the world knows about
it now? That is wow. And of course this would
violate the personal conduct policy of the NFL, and it's
also a federal crime. So, uh, this bears watching going forward. Now.
Bruce arians Tampa's head coach. He came out and said,
(37:01):
oh no, no no, there's nothing to that, like, that's that's nothing.
We checked it out, we vetted it, we're all good. Basically,
don't ask us about that anymore. Nothing to see here,
even though there might be. He's saying, there's nothing to
see here. What do you think about this former chef?
I mean that type of stuff you can't he owes me.
So I'm gonna do this, yeah, you know what I mean, Like,
(37:24):
I'm I'm good on that. All right. That's like the
snitch in jail saying, hey, i'll tell you this, but
what you're gonna do for me? Right? Normally those witnesses
don't farewell in court and the prosecution and bring somebody
who's doing forty years and there's a promise of reduced
sentence if you miraculously found out you know, your your
(37:50):
old cellmate Toltally, Yeah, who knows? Man, I don't like
I can't trust the source. You can't settle your grievance
over unpaid invoice by this. Now, the league checks it
out and confirmed that he was vaccinated and he does
(38:13):
have a valid vaccination card. So after that, after they
weighed in on it and the team weighed in on it,
that that's it. Now we can talk about him not
paying his bills. But other than that, this is a
disgrountald cook or a disgrountald employee who's like, Okay, since
(38:36):
you didn't do this, I'm going to do this. And
the it's possible that Antonio Brown was vaccinated after this
whole thing, of course now it is. It's that's what
it sounds like. It sounds like he maybe have been
on the fence of getting vaccinated and he was just like,
I'm just it didn't happen. He ended up getting vaccinated,
(38:57):
has the proper identification. So what makes it even worse? Right,
you snitched for no benefit at all. Hey, man, don't
do the work unless you're paid. Listen to you, chef,
Mr chef, um something else that you don't like. I
got a couple of minutes here for you to vent
(39:19):
about your two Lakers. I can't I need more than
a couple of minutes, man, I I can't even. I
hate watching this team play because it's painful. Their lack
of defensive intensity and just awareness is something that drives
(39:41):
me crazy. With or without Lebron bro the third quarter,
we should be rich right now. All we have to
do is bet against the Lakers in the third quarter.
I don't care who they're playing. They're a disaster, unbelievable.
They might as well stay in the locker room. What
(40:01):
was it against the Bulls forty? Just stay in the
locker room because mentally and physically that's where they are.
And that's a reflection on the head coach. I mean
on the head coach. Remember the Warriors a couple of
years ago, they would just smash almost everybody in the
third quarter, and obviously has a lot to do with
the players, but also give Steve Kerr some credit, right,
(40:22):
that is a team that's focused coming out of the
locker room at halftime. And that's not the case with
Frank Vogel and the Lakers right now, that's embarrassing. The
lineups are all over the place, no chemistry, I mean,
we we. I hope they're talking about trading somebody at
(40:44):
the trade deadline, namely Russell Wilson, I mean Russell Westbrook.
It's kind of hard to offload mill a year. Somebody
need I will say this though without Lebron, kind of
a big deal. They were four and six during that
stretch and three I know, got to still too potential
(41:07):
Hall of famers should be better. It should. They only
have three returning players. All I'm saying is this, things
are going to get a lot. They will get better.
But right now I'm angry and it's hard to watch.
Thank God, the Aztecs are bawling basketball and football goodness,
or my wife would just she wouldn't. She couldn't bear
being around me, couldn't take it all right, coming up
(41:28):
next to change the NFL should be making, and another
change they will not be making. Ah, Yes, I hope
you're enjoying your Saturday evening. In a bit, we will
we will do our weekly guessing game who will be
the playoff teams when the college football playoff rolls around here?
Because your guests as good as mine right now. But
(41:50):
we will play the you know, if we did this
week to week, I'm sure I would have many different
combinations of who the final four teams will eventually be. Well, yeah,
we're coming down to the end now, so you've got
what two weeks left even now, right, it's still a
little unclear. It is up in the air. There's a
(42:10):
lot of potential movement that can happen with two of
the top four teams being replaced by two new teams. Yeah, absolutely,
they could be. All right, we'll get to that momentarily.
But how about the NFL. There is a change that
the NFL looks like they will be making here in
(42:32):
some time, and I think it's a good change. The
NFL is paving away for an eighth official in the booth,
the sky judge, huh, and that person can influence game
changing decisions. Now the NFL, they've dipped their big toe
in the sky judge waters this year. Because you'll see
(42:52):
this from time to time, the officials will huddle up
and it's just the dude and the replay booth is like,
that's actually a catch, Like move the chains, and then
the referee will be like, after some discussion, it was
a catch and the first down and you're like, that
just came from above. Right. So I'm totally on board
with this. I have no issue with the sky judge
(43:15):
that has the authority to fix obvious errors. We're not
talking about changing every single call, all the tikie tech
stuff early in the second quarter. We're talking about the
big picture, game changing stuff. Think about the the no
call in the NFC Championship game between the Saints and
the Rams. Obvious past interference. Right. If you have a
(43:38):
sky judge that looks at the replay once and says, wow,
that's past interference or whatever, they're given the authority to change. Oh,
that's not hands to the face, Like, that's not a penalty.
I'm all for it. Are you for the sky judge
in the NFL? Big man, the most important thing is
to get it right. Yeah, that's it. Fair is fair?
(44:01):
Just get it right. I'm okay with that, I really am.
I think it's important. I think um, I mean, those
guys put you put so much energy and effort into
every win. Every game, every play. You just want the
people officiating to get it right. That's the only thing
you ask. And it's been efficient this year too, Like
(44:23):
it is really cut down on the reviews that were
used to where it's like there's a challenge, we're gonna
review it. It's gonna take a day and a half, right,
Like there have been multiple calls that have been changed
on the fly. You gotta sit through six State Farm
or Progressive commercials. Yeah, and it's just yeah, Johnny replay upstairs.
(44:49):
He says it's a catch. So it's a catch. Blew it.
There's a catch. Now, the the other change that many
would like to see happen doesn't sound like the NFL
is prone to doing this anytime soon. The NFL sent
out a memo to all the teams reaffirming the crackdown
on taunting. That's right. The NFL is insisting it will
(45:12):
continue two call these penalties right until players change their behavior.
Is the official word right now from the NFL. Listen,
I stand corrected. I thought this was gonna be a
little bit like the NBA cracking down on technical fouls.
This happened a couple of years ago where they were
(45:33):
it was a quick whistle like that, that's a tech.
That's a tech too, that's another tech, and we're like, WHOA,
what is going on here? And as this season went on,
they really relaxed that. And that's what I thought we
were gonna see with taunting. But as of right now,
there's no relaxing it. And that's why you and I,
big Man, we're on the same page on this one.
You gotta adapt. You gotta adapt or you're gonna cost
(45:55):
your team. That's just the way it is. Professional. That's right.
You cannot agree with something. But as a professional athlete
who gets paid, do you have to adapt to it.
As a coach, you have to be able to coach
it different We've seen it so many times with the
safety regulations and how to hit someone and keeping your
(46:17):
head up. You must adapt. You have to be able
to not number one, coach it differently. And this is
not a performance thing. This is the after the fact
thing which makes no sense. Don't be goofy H. Do
a good play, line up, do another good play. All
(46:40):
they're saying is don't stand over your opponent, stare down
the sideline, gesture to the sideline, any of that. You
hit somebody, don't walk over and slow screaming down in
his face. What's so difficult about that? Right? Yeah? That listen,
there are times I'll be the first one that tell
you I don't like it. At times where someone makes
(47:03):
a huge play, they're excited about it and they're celebrating,
and it just so happens they glance at the running
back that they just blew up. Or I don't love it,
but you gotta adapt to it, or it's gonna cost
your team, Like why would you want to make a
big time tackle and then celebrate and give up fifteen
free yards in a first down? Like nobody should want
(47:24):
to do that. So I think it's a colossal waste
of time of focusing all of your attention and energy
on This shouldn't be the rule. It's like, well, it
doesn't matter how you feel about it. It's going to
be a penalty whether you like it or not. Don't
argue the rule. It's that's not This isn't You can't
argue the rule during the season. You have to adhere
(47:47):
to it and then you complain about it in the
off season, where the competition committee can look at it
and then make adjustment. But doing it during the game, right,
you know it's not that big a deal. Yeah, it
really is. And when it comes down to it, should
(48:08):
you be taunting anyway? Now, how about this? We've got saint,
said coach Sean Payton. He was a guest on the
Dan Patrick Show. Listen to what he was talking about.
As far as the new taunting rules go, I think
it's being over officiated. I sat in on the discussions.
(48:28):
I think I don't think any of us that discussed
it saw it where it is now. It's like anything
else that the line's got to be eventually bright. You know,
when you start having players stand over players, you know,
crawl over players with their crots, that that there's there's
got to be like, Hey, if you and I watch
a game and we say just sitting next to each
other and turn to each other and we say taunting,
(48:50):
that's probably a taunting foul, and we would see it
and think, oh, that's that's too much, Like you can't
do that. But I think then there in lies the
challenge of communication as to, hey, this is I'm gonna
show you fifty clips and you tell me which ones
you think should be called taunting. And it's no different
than roughing the pastor so what's the first word, and
it's roughing. And so if I turned to you and
(49:12):
we watched the game, I think we'd be able to
say that's probably roughing. I mean, I understand everything he's saying.
It's just interesting head coach would be saying that. That
speaks more to me of Hey, this emphasis or this
new rule, whatever you wanna call it, kind of sucks.
It's like, well, yeah it does. But man, as the
head coach, I just think it's a waste of time
(49:33):
to be talking about what should and shouldn't be the rule.
It's like, it's all about adapting to what the rule
is right now. Yeah, I mean it's them who decided
that they wanted to do this, the coaches. They're on
the competition committee, so they wanted to address this. Now
(49:59):
they want to well they back right, yeah, So side yeah, Brian,
noany from salam with you here on Fox Sports Radio. Now,
if we circle back to the playoff picture in college football,
(50:20):
it's early, but Utah has a seven nothing against the
number three ranked n That's that's exactly what they're gonna
try to do all night, and they might be successful
doing that. We'll see how it shakes out. But I mean,
what's your best guess today? What is it November? Why
not that many games left? All these teams have one
(50:42):
more regular season game left and then the conference championships
if they happen to be in them. It's it's two games.
We should have a decent idea of who might be
the final four teams? Do It's it's a crapshoot still
at this point to me? So as of tonight, what's
your official prediction what the final four teams will be?
(51:05):
I'm writing these down. This is legally binding. Oh, this
is this is it? This is the most official? Yeah,
all right? My final four teams are Georgia, h Cincinnati.
Is this no? In particular order? Georgia, Cincinnati, Ohio State
(51:33):
mm hmm, and uh, Oklahoma State. What you're going with
the Oak State? Huh? Do you really believe that because
(51:58):
they'll have a big twelve championship. I mean, it could happen.
It could happen. Okay, if you're in Vegas and you
know this is basically like a parlay bet, you gotta
get every leg of the four predictions correct for you
to win. Are you still going Oklahoma State. No, of
(52:19):
course not alright. So if that's the setup, where you
go next week? They gotta play Oklahoma. So if that's
the setup, I'm going Georgia Cincinnati for sure. I'm gonna
go Ohio State, and I'm oh, man, this is a
tough Is it gonna be? I don't know who's it
(52:47):
gonna be? H? Is it gonna be notre Day? It
might be. I mean, we got we have to have
four teams, all right? How did four teams? So the
way in and in the hesitation for for those out
there listening is within the top eight two the SEC,
(53:15):
George and Alabama, they have to play each other. I
believe Georgia is gonna win in the SEC championship game,
which gives Alabama two losses, Georgia stays in, Alabama drops out.
Ohio State Michigan play next weekend. The winner of that
game plays in their conference championship, right, the Big Big
(53:39):
Ten Championship I put them in. I think Ohio State
beats Michigan and then wins the Big Ten Championship. That
puts them in. I think Cincinnati wins out, they beat
Eastern Carolina UH next week and then they win their
(54:03):
conference championship, right, it'll probably be over Houston. They'll play
Houston using his ten in one. They're ranked, so if
they do that, that automatic another ranked ten another excuse me,
another ranked team who's you know, probably eleven and one
at the time. That puts them in m and the
(54:28):
other ones like the Michigan because Ohio State beats them,
they're out. Alabama because Georgia beats them again, they're out.
So that leaves you with Michigan State, who won't even
be there anymore because they lost today. And so now
it's either Oregon, Notre Dame or Oklahoma State who plays
(54:48):
Oklahoma next week, and I believe Oklahoma will beat them,
so you basically it's between Oregon and Notre Dame. It's
freaking crazy that to start your Yeah, yeah, hey man,
I'll take the take a backdoor cover. I'll take a
backdoor college football playoff because because the look at if
(55:11):
you look at it like this, Cincinnati, who I believe
will be in the top four, is the only team
what the Dame lost to. That's right, yeah, So what
do you what do you right? I mean, if you
have a lot of teams that have lost two games
(55:34):
around Notre Dame. It could come down to that, Like
Notre Dame is gonna go yeah, because they lost to
a quality opponent. If that opponent is in the top four. Yea.
As much as you don't like to give them credit
for being to your their quality opponent, now, aren't they
I mean really because they can help you at this point, right,
(55:57):
Like you want do you want the opponent? Yeah? You
want them to win out? That helps the Irish case.
It's tough, right, Like you don't need to lose to
Eastern Uh e c U, what is it? Eastern Carolina?
You don't need that in your life. If they lost
to Houston, No, no, and that you mean in the
(56:20):
uh the championship, in the act at championship, Uh No,
you don't want that. I mean it could come down
to that. It's definitely gonna come down to that. That's
what it's gonna come down to. Yeah, that that could
be Notre Dame's only chance to get in the playoff
is Cincinnati losing to Houston or The crazy thing is
(56:44):
it could strengthen Notre Dame's case if there's what I'm
telling you, Yeah, if if you have the spot State
or Michigan will be out. Alabama will be out if
they lose to Georgia. If Alabama beach Georgia, Georgia stays.
So you want Georgia to beat Alabama. You need that
(57:05):
to happen for you, for for uh, the Golden Domers
to have a chance. Gotta happen, Yes, gotta happen that game.
Gamma and Georgia are both in. Yeah, then they're both in.
And then you're looking at probably Ohio State in Cincinnati. Gosh, Cincinnati,
(57:27):
that's what it is, man, go Cougars. Right, that's where
you would need you alright coming up next. Alright might
not have been the greatest choice of words, but does
the punishment fit the crime. I'm Brian no Easy from Salam.
This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no Easy from
(57:50):
Salam here on Fox Sports Radio. Now is this where
Don Brown was at last night? Our technical producer was
little Salsa going on, Oh okay, down, let's see you
huh not a sausa spot, but all of this awesome music.
Well that's good. Do you know how a salza? Okay,
(58:12):
I do too long? Too long in front of that
just because everything you need to know, it doesn't matter.
I can naturally just get into anybody. M the modest
Don Brown. You know, he could be like Victor Cruz,
the old Giants wide receiver doing the sauce over there.
(58:34):
You know. Yeah, well the Victor Cruise, the Cruise in
the last name. Let us know that there were some
Hispanic background in his family. Don Brown doesn't what if
marquet Zood counted a little bit? Mark is at your
middle name with a que No, no, that's that's a
(58:58):
black name, Marquez. That ain't then, that ain't then, But
Marquise would actually let her in it. That's it. Yeah, No,
not buying it, not fighter it at all. Now I
gotta see if you're buying this. So Texas Texas radio
(59:24):
crew they got in trouble. Okay, the play by play
guy and the color commentator they were not calling the
Red Raiders game today. Texas Tech in Action and the
crew they've been reprimanded because their comments last week. So
Texas Tech one. Last week they beat Oklahoma State and
(59:50):
uh the Iowa State. Sorry, and the crew got in trouble.
Crew got in trouble for this big man. Now we
have a little bit of it. They called out Bob
bowlsby the big twelve commissioner said, oh gosh, they right.
They thought it was some some some bs going on
(01:00:13):
right there. They thought that Texas Tech was getting host
right as they called out the conference commissioner. And then
they did this. Now, you tell me if this warrants
essentially a one game suspension for the commentating crew here.
Check this out. This has been a remarkable day and
a remarkably horrible day of officiating by this crew. Yeah,
(01:00:34):
the Big twelve should be embarrassed. The Big Twelve should
be embarrassed with this crew. And you know we haven't.
We've only pointed out two guys. I'm gonna read them
all to you. Michael Vandervelt the referee, the umpire, Robert Richardson,
John Brawn the headlinesman, the line judge Darren Decker, Robert A.
Sold the field judge, side judge Fulton Carson, Brian Ernest
(01:00:58):
the back judge, the center judge Chris Talent, and Gene
Simcoe the replay official. Those that is your officiating crew. People.
That is completely out of control here. Unbelievable. I've never
seen this ever in any ball game. Okay, so get
a taste of what was going on there. Man. They
(01:01:21):
called everybody that will gets you suspended if they would
have just left it at the horrible nature of the
officiating crew. Yesh, I think he put somebody middle name
in their mark, Jack Joshua Jackson. Like, I mean, yeah,
that'll get you, that'll get you suspended. Yeah, I think
(01:01:42):
it's justified. Yeah, this isn't right. They lost their jobs.
They're done for good. It's a one game suspension. That
seems about right. That's funny though, that's hilarious. He ran
down the whole sheet. He's talking about the back. He
unfolded the sheet and said, just so you know who
(01:02:05):
we're talking about. He throwing the replay official. These people
have families, so we want to let you guys know
just who they are and who their families are. Yeah,
just in case you want to leave bad reviews for
their personal business and drive him out of business or
anything like that. Right, Like, you can't be doing something
like that. We we had spoke. Uh. The last thing
(01:02:29):
went about top four teams and no, no, I do
need George. I got a good buddy. This isn't the
Oklahoma honkis no, no, no, his his his his name
is Brian as well. Okay, um and he said that
Bama still goes even if Georgia beats him. That's what
(01:02:51):
the committee wants and they don't want another mediocre Notre
Dame team getting pounded in the playoffs. I think he's
just trolling me. You know, he knows like pull for
the Irish. He's just trolling me at this point. But
you know as well as I do, if this is
a decisive win by Georgia, Obama isn't going. If Georgia
(01:03:12):
wins by ten fourteen points, what Bama might not go
if they lose by seven? Yeah, that's They're not gonna
put a two Lostbama team ahead of any of the
one lost teams that are there now. And listen, I'll
be the first to tell you I can put my
rooting allegiance to the side. Um, it would be more
(01:03:34):
interesting with a two lost Bama team that let's just
say they lost by seven points to Georgia. It would
be more interesting with Bama defending champs there then Notre Dame.
I want my Irish to go, but they've gotten the
doors blown off of them far too many times in
the playoff for many people that take them seriously. I'll
(01:03:54):
tell you that they're not running to their TV sets
to see Notre Dame the same way they're running to
see Alabama. It's just a it's a different it's a
different deal. But look, two losses from Bama, they're on
incredibly thin ice, and I think it's got to be
an absolute squeaker for them to have a strong, strong
case because that's the final thing that the committee is
(01:04:16):
going to see. Yeah, that's exactly right. And Georgia, you know,
Georgia has been dominant. Yeah, they've been dominant. Their defense
is I mean, the most anyone scored on them all
year is seventeen points. Man, And you do have to
(01:04:43):
ask yourself, what's George's motivation for that game? They play
Georgia Tech, who the Notre Dame just beat by put
a fifty five ball on zero today. That's who they
play in preparation for the SEC Championship. But think about this, right,
(01:05:06):
like George is going to the playoff no matter what.
They could lose fifty five to nothing to Alabama. They're
still going. Yes, they're still going. Just to put in
a perspective there that's obviously not going to happen, but
even if it did, they're still going. That's how strong
the Georgia doesn't want Alabama in there. That's really it.
The company. The motivation is, if you're a competitive person,
(01:05:28):
you want to win any game. You want to be
SEC champions. But they could still go to the playoff,
which is the ultimate goal, even if they lose the
SEC championship games. So I think the additional motivation is
not having to face Bama while there. They don't want it.
They want to get rid of them now and not
have to worry about it. That makes their path to
(01:05:51):
a national championship that much easier. You know, you speak
of getting rid of things in your way, you know,
that would be the opposite of what we want to
do with this man. We would never pick up a
friend of America and put him to the side, because
(01:06:12):
he is not a roadblock. He is actually an enlightener.
I don't even know if that's a word, but that's
what he is. He is. Mr Steve de Sager, who's
with us this evening, Well, I'll take it nonetheless, good evening, gentlemen.
You talk about Georgia the first they're not gonna lose
fifty five nothing in that conference final, I would say,
because the first two months of the season combined, Georgia
(01:06:36):
had only allowed fifty three points total in two months
of games. Georgia ranked number one beat Charleston Southern fifty
six seven. Today it was forty nine nothing at the half.
You mentioned Notre Dame ranked eighth fifty five nothing over
Georgia Tech. That was forty five nothing at the half.
Georgia Tech had eleven first downs ten punts in the game.
(01:06:58):
So Georgia Tech has lost five in a row the
end the season against Georgia. Next Saturday, Notre Dame will
be playing at Stanford, which is just three and seven
this year. In fact, Stanford is getting shut out at
home by rival Cal fourteen nothing late in the first
half the world, How did Stanford beat Oregon? Steve, Yeah, absolutely,
(01:07:19):
it's well, it's par for the course this season right Nationally,
I mean you talked about at the beginning of the show,
we really don't even know who the four teams are
the best. We've said it in other seasons, and it's
particularly true today that when the poll keeps coming out
the top, there aren't twenty five good teams in the country.
It's just shuffle the cards this week. Okay, they lost. Okay,
(01:07:39):
put them out of the top twenty. Let's move this,
Let's try this one and let's see if they stick.
That's pretty much how it's been. It can be entertaining
that way, but I can't say that I could make
a great case that, oh, these they're really no Now,
most most teams can be beat in a given week,
and Stanford is getting shut out by cal If. I
can quote a guy from the press box last weekend
covering a game. Cal doesn't care about football in that
(01:08:02):
athletic department, and they've barely had enough players to play
football in recent weeks. But they're winning at Stanford, so
let's put that in perspective. Meanwhile, Alabama was a winner
over Arkansas thirty five. Bama clinched its division since Alabama
has already defeated second place Old Miss this season. Next
(01:08:23):
week Alabama at Auburn, which is just six and four
and as you mentioned, as an injured quarterback and kicker,
and Auburn is tied at South Carolina at the half fourteen. Ah,
this is it is in South Carolina, the one that
played a grand assistant at quarterback for a few games.
That's how bad Auburn's season has come by the end. Well,
let's get to the games in progress, shall we. It's
(01:08:44):
early second quarter at number twenty three Utah Ute seven
nothing over third ranked Oregon on FS one, about ten
minutes left in the game. Number eleven ranked Baylor now
leads twenty to ten at Kansas State. And on Fox TV,
it's late first quarter. Ninth ranked Oklahoma State leads three
nothing at Texas Tech. Second quarter. Number twelve Old Miss
is seventeen three leader versus Vanderbilt. Earlier we had easy wins,
(01:09:08):
not only for Georgia, but for Cincinnati and Michigan in
the top ten. Ohio States ranked four fifty six seven
was their win over Michigan State. Today, c J strouds
six touchdown passes in the first half. Clemson one again
at home, beat tenth ranked Wake Forest five. You know,
if Clemson had just been able to steal one of
those conference games, they could be stealing a spot in
(01:09:31):
the conference final, as bad as this season was for
them in the early going. But that's not going to
be the case. They beat Wake Forest today, but wake
can still clinch that division title next week because they're
playing at last place Boston College, which is two and
five in conference. Clemson has two conference losses. I will
say the home schedule, even on a down year, for
what they've been, the Clemson Tigers have won thirty four
(01:09:53):
straight home games. Among the other winners, Oklahoma beat Iowa
State one, Iowa A winner over Illinois thirty three twenty three,
and u c l A one at usc sixty two
to thirty three. The Trojans four and six on the season.
The Philadelphia Eagles activated running back Miles Sanders. The Eagles
gave defensive back of Ante Mattox a three year extension.
(01:10:15):
Saints running back Alvin Camarraz out again this weekend with
his knee, and Duren New Orleans plays at Philadelphia. Of course,
the Big game on Fox TV this Sunday, Kansas City
hosting Dallas. The news yesterday was the Cowboys placing wide
receiver and Marie Cooper on the COVID list so he
could miss the Thanksgiving game. In addition to tomorrow, today,
the Chiefs activated running back Clyde Edwards Hilaire off injured reserve,
(01:10:36):
and Sunday night the game is Chargers hosting the Steelers.
Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was cleared to play he's off
the COVID list, and Chargers defensive lineman Joey Bosa is
off the COVID list. Pittsburgh, though, will be missing linebacker
t J. Watt and safety Minka Fitzpatrick and defensive back
Joe Hayden. Back to you, man, the injury bug right now,
(01:10:57):
you know, and think about Kyler Murray. We don't know
if he's gonna be game time decision again, didn't play
last week with that designation. Yeah, and think about that,
big man. Were Arizona at Seattle, and this is Seattle season,
no doubt. So, uh, you're probably hoping number one Kyler
Murray is not on the field. I think if your
(01:11:18):
season is in jeopardy, if you so happy to see
Colton McCoy on the field instead of Kyler Murray, you
might be like, well, you know, I mean injuries happening football.
We just had our quarterback Russell Wilson injured. So that
that's a must. That's a gots to half game for
Seattle against Arizona. Yeah it is. Um, we're coming down
to it down to this second game. Um, excuse me,
(01:11:40):
second half of the season in the NFL, where you're
you're kinna want things to start shaping up for you,
healthy players, those players who put on I R early
coming back, you know, keeping guys off the COVID list.
All of these things are gonna be very imperative moving
(01:12:01):
forward because there is so much parody right now. So
it's a it's a log jam. It's crazy because you
could go team by team of the contenders and every
one of these teams has given you a legitimate reason
to doubt them. Yeah, as good as the Titans have been, obviously,
Derrick Henry being out is the main reason to doubt them.
(01:12:23):
But even with Derrick Henry, somehow they lost to the Jets, Like,
how did that happen? Think about the Ravens. Are we
going to see a steady dose of zero blitz is now? Right?
You know, like these blitz zero looks and just sending
the house and Miami did that forty times against Lamar
(01:12:44):
Jackson and the Ravens had no answer. Yeah, I just
you know the Rams, you know, got beat up physically
Campa Bay. You know, too many mistakes, turnovers. You look
at Dallas. I still don't know what Dallas is. Everybody's
(01:13:07):
holding off on Dallas because you just don't know, Uh,
Kyler Murray not being Green Bay Packers missing multiple receivers
again this week then, and I guess we're so far
removed from Week one, but even week one against the Saints,
where was it? Thirty four to three? Just fell apart
(01:13:31):
and you look at you know Buffalo, right, Yeah, the
team is scary. And I'll say this are the New
England Patriots because they're scary. They're going in the other direction.
This is their best stretch. But who are their receivers?
(01:13:53):
You know, I keep going back to that. Yeah, Um,
they've figured out a way for Mac Jones to manage
the game with a little flare. Right, defense is playing well,
they're able to run the ball. That they can really
(01:14:14):
run the ball, which helps a lot. On top of
them being able to hit plays down down the field.
Those two tight ends they brought over are paying huge dividend. Look,
they're a sound football team. That's just not a team
that's built to come from behind. No they're not, Yeah
(01:14:36):
they're not. But they just won five in a row.
They got the Titans, Bills, Coats, Bills, Jaguars, and the Dolphins.
H So you know, I wouldn't put it past Bill Belichick.
(01:14:58):
I mean, they're they're competing. They played the Bills twice
for the division? Yeah, yeah, I'm just gonna throw it
out to it. They played the Bills twice. One are
those games was the division? Yeah? You would have to imagine,
right with where the Patriots record is and who else
(01:15:20):
they face beyond the Bills, you think they have a
decent shot to win the division if they take care
of the Bills. They beat the Jets twice, lost to
the lost to the Dolphins the first game with it
the year by one point, and they got have Buffalo
(01:15:43):
and the Dolphins down the stretch. I mean, I just
wonder who this Buffalo team is. That's the thing. They
have the talent to come out of the a f
C easily, and they have the I don't know, the
jackal and hide factor where they could be one and
done in the playoffs, and I wouldn't be surprised at all.
(01:16:03):
This is this is what he was making This year
is so intriguing because it's just week to week, you
don't know which team is gonna show up. No, that's
exactly where it is, all right, coming up next, it's
the game of the week. But who's more likely to
be the team of the year. I'm Brian no Easy
(01:16:24):
from salamis his Fox Sports Radio I'm Brian no Easy
from Salam. You're on Fox Sports Radio. I'll tell you
what our guy, Don Brown needs to go to the
club more often, because you can tell he's still saucy
from last night when he busts out some lamb of
God here on the show. Saucy in more ways than one,
(01:16:45):
meaning what here? Huh. I don't worry about it over No,
I think I know what you're talking about. But I
love the selection there by Don Brown. Very good job
by him, very good. Now we've got um the game
of the week here, late afternoon game, Cowboys at the Chiefs.
I'm surprised they haven't flexed many games that I don't
(01:17:08):
know that they've flexed any games into the Sunday night
primetime window. Um. Not to get too knee deep into this,
but you do get these networks like CBS and Fox.
They have the right of refusal. I don't know exactly
how it works. It's been changed over the years, but
this might have been a game that NBC said, Hey,
(01:17:29):
we'd love to have Cowboys and Chiefs for Sunday night football,
and Fox said, yeah, I bet you would. But guess
what you can't, is my guest, because Cowboys Chiefs is
a much better game than Steelers Chargers with all the
injury woes for the for the Steelers, I don't think
go into effect yet, is that? Because yeah, it's it.
(01:17:51):
And trust me, the NFL can take whatever game they
want because it used to be weeks eleven through seventeen,
and then it has expanded. It's changed so much changed,
it's changed, and when the playoff picture becomes more into focus,
then that's when there's still so much football left. That's
(01:18:12):
when you will see, you know, these games being flex
and and so on and so forth. Yeah, well, in
any event, it's in the late afternoon window Cowboys at
the Chiefs. And a couple of interesting uh developments here.
One is a Marii Cooper Cowboys wide receiver. He's test
depositive for COVID, so he's gonna miss the next two
(01:18:33):
games as an unvaccinated player. It's not just this week,
and it's the next game as well, So double dip
for a mari not being vaccinated. Lay to go, got
my booster shot yesterday. I just keep wondering. It's one
thing for weeks eleven and twelve, but the playoffs aren't
that far away. That's gonna that's gonna mean something. Yeah, well,
(01:18:58):
that's gonna really hit home. Imagine if it's NFC Championship game,
first time the Cowboys have been here and lord knows
who how long, right the mid nineties or something, and
Mary Cooper's on the shelf unvaccinated, can't play in the game, right,
we might have a situation or too like that. When
the playoffs roll around, think about these unvaccinated quarterbacks. Yeah, man,
(01:19:23):
that's gonna land differently. Well you know, yeah, but no
coup on the the side on the field for this game.
And it begs this question. This is the game of
the week, Cowboys at the Chiefs, But which of these
two teams is more likely to be the team of
the year? Really think about that. You've got the Chiefs
(01:19:45):
and look, they made it to a Super Bowl in one,
made it to another Super Bowl and lost. We had
big expectations for them heading into this year. They stunk
for a good portion of it, but they smacked around
the radars last week and you've got glimpses of hey, man,
the Chiefs still might be a legit team. Are they
more likely to win it all? Or is it the
(01:20:07):
Cowboys that are more likely? I think the Chiefs are
more likely to win it all. Okay, how come the
Cowboys would have to go through the Rams, Tampa Bay,
Green Bay in Arizona the road to get there? It's
just a bit tougher. Yeah, when you look at it,
Kansas City Chiefs have to go through New England, Baltimore, Buffalo,
(01:20:28):
and Tennessee with no Derrick Henry like I mean, just
tough rope, but considerably easier than what the Dallas Cowboys
would have to do. Right now, that's a good argument.
The road absolutely matters. If the road didn't come into play, Well,
we can't say that because then you can just say
(01:20:49):
Chicago could make it all. Right, let's flip flop him. Right,
Cowboys are in the a f C, Chiefs are in
the NFC. You'd probably say the same thing, and that
that aspect, right, you'd say the Cowboys based on the
road in the a f C. Right, does that make
any sense? Yeah, I mean I'm really getting at I'm
(01:21:10):
really getting really trying to create a scenario that drives
home your point. And that's ridiculous because turned the whole
world upside down, the whole NFL world upside But what
I really asked the ground was the sun. I'm really
getting at, who do you think is the better team?
(01:21:33):
I understand what you're saying about the road, Yes, but
who do you think is the better squad? I think
I will put my money on Kansas City? Okay you would? Yes, Pedigree, Yes,
what we've seen in the last you know, year or two,
(01:21:55):
that sort of deal. Yeah, And there they fixed seemingly
some of the problems that plagued them, the penalties, the turnovers.
If they don't do those, they win. Those are fixable problems. Yeah.
And if their defense isn't up to what it needs
to be, if you don't turn the ball over, are
(01:22:15):
getting get penalties, you're gonna be okay? Yeah, alright, big
three around the corner also a disappearance. Oh what's going on? Everybody?
Hope you're enjoying your Saturday evening. We've got all sorts
of crazy action going on in the world of college football.
Big man were Utah leads the number three ranked Oregon
(01:22:38):
Ducks fourteen to nothing after Oregon just missed a field
goal attempt. And this throws a monkey wrench into the
old equation as to who will be the playoff teams
when it's all said and done. If the Ducks go
down tonight and they are not off to a good
start so far, no, and we we we uh forecasted
(01:22:59):
this a little bit um not believing them who they were,
and they're sewing. I mean, Utah is a physical team,
and you know, the Ducks do a lot of finesse.
And if you can line up and just drive the
ball down somebody's throat, you kind of take away the
(01:23:22):
momentum from him. And that's what we're seeing in this game.
Utah has you know, the Ducks on that they on
the on the huge play. Oh my goodness, gracious, that
was about a seventy five yard play there into the
red zone. Uh for Utah, just oorgan just they're not
(01:23:43):
here today. Now, it's only the first half, and the
lock can happen in the second half. But as of
right now, the Utah is pushing the Oregon the number
three team in the country around It really is interesting
how a man run inside the five yard line yea
(01:24:03):
with a minute nineteen seconds left in the first half, yeah,
Utah should have more points before halftime, might have a
touchdown the way they're moving the ball right now. But
it is interesting how listen, offenses get more and more
advanced and they open up more and the you know,
the spread offenses and the run pass options and all
(01:24:26):
these fancy things and they work. But man, if you
can just line up and run the ball down to
someone's throat, that will always work as well. And it
always makes me think of listen, the way football evolves,
and I want to be too, uh, you know, Tree
hugger ish on this one, right, like a very philosophical here,
But the game evolves, but there are some tried and
(01:24:47):
true things that still translate into today's game. The way
Oregan is running, the way Utah is running the football
down Oregon's throat. You will be able to do that
in the NFL and college football and have success. I
think of Mac Jones in the NFL. How often did
we hear going into the draft you gotta have a
dual threat quarterback. You gotta have a quarterback that can
(01:25:09):
move in today's NFL and lo and behold Mac Jones,
who makes quick decisions, processes fast. He's been the best
rookie quarterback thus far. So there still is a place
to run the ball down your opponent's throat in college
or the NFL, there still is a place for a
quarterback that doesn't have that run pass element. But it's
(01:25:31):
throwing darts and making quick decisions. Those quarterbacks aren't dinosaurs
just yet. No they're not. And look, Matt Jones. It
was a perfect situation, perfect fit, perfect coach. Everything is
working out in his favor. Now Belichick is probably thinking,
(01:25:53):
I got my next guy for the Knicks. However long
he's going to coach, and then Josh McDaniels will take
it up take it from there here. But this is
a perfect place for them. If they do decide, hey,
we are going to go out and get some talented
a white receiver in other places, then you know, this
could be a marriage for the next fifteen years for
(01:26:14):
mc jones in the Patriots. Yeah, it's possible. He's off
to a good start and they're just playing sound football.
That's and that's the thing they are. They're playing Patriot football, Yeah,
they really are. They don't have a whole lot of
margin for error. That's a team if you turn the
ball over once twice. That could be an l for you.
(01:26:36):
You know, they don't have a lot of firepower to
compensate for mistakes, but they're playing sound football and executing
very well. Now I wanted to throw a story at you,
and we'll get right back to college football here. But
have you heard the story. There's a Chinese tennis player,
Peng Shui, and she's a female tennis player, and the
(01:26:58):
story is she recently accused a Chinese politician is a
very powerful man, of sexual assault. And the next thing,
you know, we don't know where Paying Shui is just gone.
And recently there were photos, photos posted online and we're
(01:27:21):
trying to decipher is this really her. It's just like
she just gone. And so you're hearing Serena Williams, you're
hearing powerful people in sports like where is she? She
just disappeared after she she made an allegation public. And
so now it's this in this phase where a photo
(01:27:43):
surfaced and it just says happy weekend, and we're like,
is this actually her? I don't know what's going on,
big man, but what I do know is, look, man,
you can never take freedom for granted. There are places
I think of Ennis cantor place where the Boston cell ticks.
Now he criticized the Turkish government and he's basically on
(01:28:04):
the move right. They want to throw him in jail
for something like that. Like they were like, uh, it's
about to be a problem for you. Yeah, it's like that. Man,
it's crazy. We do take our liberties for granted over
here in this country. Yeah, And it just can't happen, man,
I know, and his cancer. When he was with the Blazers,
(01:28:26):
he wouldn't travel to Toronto. He he won't go to
Canada because he could be apprehended and set back and
thrown in jail, the whole thing. Like it's real. And
so I hope this deal with peng Shui works out
favorably for her. But man, that that's that's just messed up.
(01:28:49):
That is messed up. That you could think about if
that happened in this country. I always think about it
like that. What if female tennis player acute used a
politician of sexual assault and in the next half hour
she was poof gone right, imagine how that would be
taken over here. It's just a different deal here. Yeah,
(01:29:13):
that'd be a situation, Yeah, it'd be it'd be a
serious situation. And because you know the government doesn't control
all of our media airways like and and dictatorships. That's right, right,
Like in some countries they can just turn the internet off. Yeah,
(01:29:34):
think about that. We've just turned We're gonna turn this
off here, Okay, Yeah, it's gonna power this down. That's
literally the way it is with peng Shui right now.
Like a lot of China doesn't have access to these
photos that were recently posted. It's like that, So I mean,
take it for what it's worth in any event. Brian
(01:29:56):
now and from Salam with here on Fox Sports Radio,
Utah did score a touchdown? They're up twenty one to
nothing going into halftime here, Yeah they are. Did you
see that uh post online with Zach Stacy? I did.
I didn't see the video. Yeah, I definitely read the story.
(01:30:18):
So former uh was he a running back play three
years in the league? Um video serviced on Facebook or
Twitter of him beating his wife, I believe in front
(01:30:39):
of their five month olds child, And it was so
disturbing to me. You have a watch something and it
I mean out of a visceral reaction to it and I, um,
(01:31:03):
it's it's so disturbing that there are people out there
like this, and I just, you know, I'm trying to
walk a loot. I'll just say this, if it were
my daughter or my sister mhm, or somebody I knew
(01:31:26):
and cared about, we'll be having a different conversation. Yeah, many,
because I would force him to have to do that
to me, right, And what was it? A surveillance video?
It was video from inside the home, like nanny cams
and stuff like that, and so it was unbelievably brutal.
(01:31:52):
He never needs to see outside of a prison again. Ever. Wow, Yeah,
that's something. It was terrible, man. I mean, you know,
to all the victims of domestic violence out there, we
pray for you and pray that you have the strength
(01:32:15):
to to get yourselves out of that or seek help
get yourselves out of that situation, because goodness, gracious, I
I just it made me. It made me my heart
hurt because I have a mom, I have sisters, right, nieces,
and I could just I couldn't even imagine. It was awful.
(01:32:39):
Yeah yeah, I'm watching it just right now because I
read it. I didn't believable, and I wanted to make
sure we hit on that that that is as unacceptable,
it's uncalled for, and he needs to be punished to
the fullest extent of every law in every country. Yeah, hey, man,
(01:33:04):
you get no argument with me. I don't know any
rational person that if you see that video, they would
say otherwise. I don't know how you do like that lower.
That was just brutal to have that type of hatred.
A lot of hatred going on out here. Man, It's
it's too much hate, too much hate. Yeah, it's very
(01:33:25):
very It's scary, you know, raising two sons of my
own and trying to instill in them to be loving,
caring providers, protectors, and you know, it's important because you
can't put people like that out into the world and
(01:33:48):
unleashed them on on people. It's crazy because what's permissible
in certain cases, you know what I mean. Like, and
I'm no lawyer, obviously, but I hate where something like
that where we're here in football at the time, film
don't lie. Where that film does not lie. I don't care. Well,
I don't know what you're gonna try to explain for
(01:34:10):
those who haven't seen it. If you thought like the
Ray Rice thing was bad or something like that, this
is a million times worse. I just I don't know, Like,
what tell you what a punt return for a touchdown?
Nothing at bye bye Ducks the pack twelve yet again
(01:34:34):
not getting someone in the college football playoff. Yeah, but
all I'm saying is this something like that or the
video it doesn't lie. It tells you everything you need
to know. I hate when sometimes that isn't permissible as
evidence in a case, you know what I mean, And
it's it doesn't even factor into the ruling. That scarbage
(01:34:55):
to me. I hate when stuff like, yeah, you can't
do that and the world has seen it, so his
heart and unsee that. Yeah. Oh, by the way, the
Utah player that scored the punt return touchdown, he threw
up the Oregon oh in the end zone as he scored.
(01:35:17):
I mean, it's a little bit like the horns down
thing is nothing. The twenty three ranked Utah Utes are
going into halftime over the Oregon Ducks, the third ranked
team in the country. Some things I just don't understand.
Where you're down twenty one to nothing, we're in the
(01:35:37):
final seconds before you put the ball. If you're gonna
put it, just put it into the stands. Put it
into the hot dog vendor. Yeah. Yeah, shades of DeShawn
Jackson with the the Eagles against the Giants where they
put it right down the middle of the field. Why
why would you do that? It doesn't make sense for
(01:36:00):
Oregon in a situation like that at all. All right,
plenty more to get to. Oh man, we got the
Big Three right around the corner. Three NFL picks against
the spread. We've got shake up City. After last week,
we'll update you and run down the games. I'm Brian No.
He's from salam This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian No.
(01:36:23):
He's he from Salam here on Fox Sports Radio. By
the way, before the Big Three, here a couple of
funny notes. So our producer this week, Bo Benson, he's
in for Danny g. Bo Benson said, Uh, he was
glancing down at a tweet that said that Oregon has
never come back from a deficit in their program's history,
(01:36:46):
and he looked up and that's that's when the punt
return happened. And now they're down twenty eight to nothing.
Good luck with that, Yeah, So no looking great for
their chances of a great comeback. Here of the top ten, yeah,
(01:37:06):
certainly out of the top four, which is all that
really matters. Yeah, they're out of there, So that's one
vacant spot already up. They are out of there. So
what happens next week? You're gonna see Cincinnati in there.
Cincinnati will be number four, will be number four, Michigan
(01:37:28):
will be five, Notre Dame will be six. That's most
likely the way it's gonna be. Yea and then that
which which makes that Ohio State Michigan game that much bigger. Yeah,
that'll be what three verses five, verses five, unless I
don't know, the voters get a little uh, get a
(01:37:50):
little wild and have Ohio State leap frog Alabama, and
I don't know either way, that'll be, you know, a
top five matchup. I hope it's better than Georgia Clemson.
Remember that was three verses five at the beginning of
the year at all man going in your life, it's
gonna be good, and it wasn't and it was not. Yeah,
(01:38:11):
but this is I mean, you know, Oregon screwing the
pooch getting kicked out, Georgia's stays, Alabama stays where they are,
Ohio State moves up, Sincinnati moves up, Michigan moves up, order,
Dame moves up, Michigan State bounces out of the top ten,
(01:38:33):
and so you know, Oklahoma State's only up by six
with five left in a second I mean the first half,
second quarter against Texas Tech. So wake far as lost.
I mean, this thing is its opening up a little
(01:38:53):
bit here. It's a crazy year. It makes me think
of Look, man, I don't believe in miss again, but
it's right there there. Everything they want home game against
Ohio State, everything they want is right there. Yeah, and
(01:39:15):
I still don't believe it's gonna happen for him, but
it's the best set up it could be. I don't
think they can beat Ohio State. Yeah, I don't believe it.
We'll see. I'm pulling for him because good friends of
ours are you know, went to law school in Michigan
and so him and his kids, they love it. So
(01:39:36):
we'll see. Yeah, is it time to get down to business?
It is time. So what happened last week is we
get into the big three over here. Let me just
come out and say that well done, Brian. No, finally,
I was abysmal terrible. What was your record last over
(01:39:57):
oh for goose say I went two and one. I
should have. It was right there, It was there. Do
you want to take the Cowboys, Brian and just make
it a clean head to head for the whole week?
And I said, nah, nah, I'll take the Raiders instead,
And that was brutal. So I was that close to
going three and oh if I had just taken the Cowboys,
(01:40:20):
but I couldn't do it. So in any event, I
pick up two games on you. So for the season,
I still trail by three games. Are you still under five?
Put you? I am the definition of average right now.
I am fifteen and fifteen all right, but you still
have the season lead. So what are you thinking this
(01:40:43):
week here? Big man? I'm still going first? Yeah, okay,
unless you want to switch the order. No no no
no no no no no no no no no no
spoon no no no. Um okay, let's get down to business.
Let's do it. Uh. That was tough for me last week.
(01:41:06):
It hurt. I'm ruined my whole Sunday. I just uh,
it killed me. So I'm want to start this week
off with a bounced back, a trouncing um coming down
the stretch, playoff positions, so on and so forth, and uh,
(01:41:29):
I'm gonna go with dun Dun, Dun Dun. I'm gonna
go with with the Buffalo Bills at home minus seven over
Indie against it. Indie has been playing some good I've
been playing good, good football, but Buffalo is terrible this
(01:41:51):
time of year. They're outside. India is an indoor team,
and uh, I think coming off that lost two weeks
ago for the Bills, they tuned the Jets up and
I think that's the direction the team is going. So
I'm going Buffalo money seven over Bills. First pick. All right,
(01:42:18):
first pick. I don't love laying more than a touchdown,
but there are exceptions, and one of those exceptions is
if a good team happens to be facing the Houston Texans.
So I am going with the Tennessee Titans at home
minus ten against the Houston Texans. Was my second pick,
(01:42:39):
absolute grease fire. Yeah, they're bad now for some reason.
Earlier this year, when I pick a team that you're
about to pick, it doesn't work out for me, that's true,
but that was my next pick. So that was it. Yeah,
hopefully it does work out for me this week. All right,
I'm going for my second pick. I'm going Green Bay
(01:43:02):
on the road at Minnesota. Uh, Green Bay's minus one.
I'm taking that all day. It just doesn't seem right,
does it. It's something's up right, It's all more. They're
like trying to trick me, like I'm nervous taking this,
(01:43:22):
But I'm like, why what is happening right now? I
know they're down, uh a tackle. I know they're down
the receiver. You got Aaron Rodgers with this toe injury.
But man, green Bay minus one. They've covered every game
(01:43:44):
nine in a row since the Week one stinker, and
they're favored by one against Minnesota. That just thinks to me.
I don't know what's going on with that one. Either.
Aaron Jones is done um season ending, I believe knee injury.
(01:44:04):
Is it gonna be that long? I think, so we'll see.
We'll see. But a J. Dillon and that's a big deal.
So I'll tell you what sidebar I stand corrected on
A J. Dillon. I thought that was a ridiculous pick
at the time. He is a monster lord and with
(01:44:24):
eight with Jones, with Aaron Jones being on the shelf,
that's he does a huge pickup for them. So I'm
I'm I'm going Green Bay. I feel comfortable with with
that pig. H you know the golden rule here. I
don't know what that is. I just noticed is my pick. Okay,
you gotta be comfortable with being uncomable. That was true. Okay.
(01:44:48):
As I look at the board for my second look
at the board, looking at the board, I'm doing all
sorts of math, looking at pie charts, looking at developments
here and there. The other golden rule is you gotta
see it before it happens. I am looking at the
(01:45:10):
Los Angeles Chargers, and man, they can't stop the run
to save their lives, and that worries me. But Pittsburgh
is down a whole lot of talent on defense, and
so I am going to lay the five and a
half on Sunday Night football and go with the fighting
Herbert's I'm going with the l A Chargers minus five
(01:45:31):
and a half. Okay, that's a good pick. You love
those late games. I stink at Pick and Prime Time, James.
I gotta stay away from you always fall into them.
It seems like, I do you know, before we get
to our final selection, why don't we fall into something
(01:45:54):
in particular? Here? Big man? You mean fall into the
arms of a person who ht you like, who would
soften any blow or any fall A person who above
all else one of the most generous, hospitable and all
(01:46:16):
around great guys. Is that what you mean? That's exactly
what I mean, one Stephen G. That's for soften. There
is no softening the blow for what third ranked Oregon
is going through in college football tonight at number twenty
three Utah, it's utes at the break, twenty eight nothing
(01:46:39):
in the lead. Wow, and you talking clinch the South
Division of the Pack twelve tonights? Now, isn't it logical
that it'll be Utah South Champ against Oregon North Champ
in a couple of weeks in the Pack twelve title game? Now,
that title game would not be for a birth in
the top four the national semifinal, but for a Rose
Bowl birth right, Utak could be going to the Rose Bowl.
(01:47:03):
They may have to beat Oregon twice in three weeks
to do it, but their home game in front of
a raucous crowd is going quite well, thank you. Three
touchdowns in the second quarter and twenty eight nothing utes
at the half. Number twelve Old Miss has a nine
lead over Vanderbilt as they start quarter number three and
final seconds of the first half on Fox TV, Ninth
(01:47:24):
ranked Oklahoma State only up six nothing at Texas Tech today.
It was third ranked Oklahoma beating Iowa State one Oklahoma's
defense with seven sacks. The Sooner's close at Oklahoma State
next Saturday night to decide the regular season title. Number
one Georgia fifty six seven over Charleston Southern Bulldogs lead
(01:47:45):
at the half forty nine nothing for number two Alabama
five touchdown passes for Heisman candidate Bryce Young in a
win over twenty one ranked darkinsas forty two thirty five.
Young was thirty one of forty passing five hundred fifty
nine yards and five scores. Bama clinched its division title
since Alabama has already defeated second place Old Miss, so
(01:48:06):
next week Alabama at Auburn, which is six and four,
And for those who are saying it's a rivalry game, correct,
you never know what's going to happen. But as Brian
No did mention earlier, quarterback and kicker injured for Auburn
and they're losing at South Carolina tonight early in the
fourth quarter seven for the game Coux, who fell behind
fourteen nothing early, but Auburn has not scored a touchdown
(01:48:29):
since this South Carolina is two and five in that conference.
Just for the record. Number four Ohio State led Michigan
State forty nine nothing at the half fifty six seven
the final. C J. Strouds six touchdown passes in the
first half. Number five ranks Cincinnati is eleven and oh
and apparently about to move up in the College Football
Playoff Committee standings. Bearcats beat s m U impressively. It
(01:48:51):
was forty eight nothing in the fourth quarter. Number six
Michigan eighteen winners at Maryland and Yes. Next Saturday on
Box TV neon Eastern time, Michigan hosts Ohio State. Number
eight Notre Dame fifty five nothing over Georgia Tech. Irish
led forty five nothing at the half. The Irish peanut
gallery in the background. Notre Dame as a team thirty
(01:49:14):
three carries two hundred twelve yards rushing, three touchdowns, plus
the defense had six sex in this game. Clemson won
again at home. They won thirty four straight at home.
They beat number ten Wake Forest seven. However, the great
season for Wake does continue and it can still clinch
the division title next week at last place Boston College,
(01:49:35):
which lost to Florida State today. The problem for Clemson
they have two conference losses. Wake Forest now with just one,
Baylor with a win I mentioned Oklahoma victorious b y
U in Wisconsin, each one. Easy wins for Texas A
and M and Mississippi State NC State as well. Number
twenty two U T. San Antonio needed a one yard
touchdown passed in the final seconds to stay undefeated at eleven,
(01:49:57):
and oh edging U A B thirty four, thirty one,
Iowa and pitt with victories as well, and USC not good.
USC lost at home to U C l A and
it wasn't close. They gave up over sixty points in
this game, Ladies and gentlemen, So a losing record, in
need of a coach, in need of a defense. Star
wide receiver's gonna be great in the NFL, I think
(01:50:20):
injured a few weeks ago. So not even that do
they have to look forward to. And no, not everybody
who bought tickets actually showed up to the coliseum for
this game. Today. In the NBA, New York beat Houston
one oh. The Rockets have lost fourteen games in a row.
Washington's contest is over. They have just edged Miami one
oh three to one hundred despite twenty nine points from
(01:50:43):
Jimmy Butler. College basketball wins in the tip Off Classic
in Connecticut, Villanova beat Tennessee and Perdue over North Carolina.
And in the Sunday night NFL games, Steelers quarterback Ben
Roethlisberger is due to start, cleared to play off the
COVID list, and Chargers defensive lineman Joey Bow off the
COVID list. And we have sad news to report from
(01:51:03):
the Raiders that former fullback of their Steve Smith, has
died after a long battle with Luke Garrig's disease. He
was fifty seven. He was drafted at a Penn State
on their national championship team, drafted third round. Back to you. Yeah,
condolences to the family. All right, big man, Um, We've
got one selection left to recap so far. Our NFL
(01:51:28):
predictions against the spread. You've got the Bills minus seven
against the Colts. You're going with the stinker of stinker
lines this week, the Packers minus one at the Vikings.
I'm calling with a couple of favorites too. We've been
very favorite centric here. I'm taking the Titans minus ten
against the horrid Texans, and I'm gonna take the Chargers
(01:51:50):
minus five and a half. I'm white knuckling that one.
I hate the rush defense. You know you're gonna get
a heavy dose of Naji Harris on Sunday night. But man,
the Steelers are missing a lot of town on No
t J. Watt, no Minca Fitzpatrick. That's a lot to
compensate for against Justin Herbert. I'll take the Chargers there. Uh,
good picks for my last game. I'm going with Cam
(01:52:12):
Newton being back at home in Carolina during a half
point favorites over Washington. Uh, he's back. I think the
emotion of that game will be great. Um. Christian McCaffrey's back,
so UM. I think this is a big step for
(01:52:33):
Carolina moving forward. I'm going Caroline. You know your picks.
It's crazy. You could do this in a lot of
weeks in the NFL, but this week more than than
any other, I could see you going undefeated or winless.
(01:52:53):
It neither would It would surprise me, you know, because
I could see washington to performance last week against Tampa.
That was a great performance actually playing defense right that
drive at the end of the game over ten minutes
the field. Yeah, that was wild. So could I see
(01:53:15):
Washington at least keeping it within a field goal? Sure?
Could I see Minnesota beating Green Bay? I mean, I
really don't see it, but Vegas clearly sees some Vegas
it's aware of something that's going on. Yeah, and the
Colts They're running game has been really good lately, so
they could keep that one tight. But but the opposite
(01:53:36):
is also true. So you could be three and oh,
you could be going three. I'm pulling obviously for well
you know the answer to that, of course. Okay, do
I go head to head with you? You had success
with it last week twice. I could do that. I
could go off the reservation here, right, we could Uh,
(01:53:59):
we could go with what should I do? Um? You know,
Casey bit me last week? Right, I was looking I've
been telling you about them being overrated, and there was
something in the back of my head that was like
it might be changing here, it might be changing here.
(01:54:19):
And uh, I didn't listen to that little voice in
the back of my head. I hate when I don't
do that. Um. But this week against a tough Cowboys team, right,
Cowboys have been a covering machine and The Cowboys are
plus two and a half on the road against Casey.
Casey's gonna have some juice for that game, right They're
(01:54:40):
talking about getting their swagger back and the whole thing.
They're walking a little differently after that mammoth win against
the Raiders. That's a tough one to call. I'm just
thinking out loud here. You know what I'm gonna do.
It's my motto. No I'm gonna I'm not gonna go
(01:55:07):
with the model this week. I can't go with the Vikings,
even though that line just completely stinks so much. I
Am going to go with the Miami Dolphins. I don't
love these small favorites on the road. But the Dolphins
played real defense against Lamar Jackson and company last Thursday,
so they have extra rest. They're facing Joe Flacco and
(01:55:29):
the Jets right like. The Jets can't stop anybody right
now defensively. So it's a small point spread on the road.
I'll roll with my Fins minus three and a half. Okay,
first time you're tak into fans, what do you think
about that? Good luck with that? Ah, that dude will
(01:55:54):
say that's screamed stay away. Yeah, the Viking scream stay away.
But that's why I want to run toward it, but
I just can't bring myself to do it. I just
don't understand why they'll find out. We'll figure it out. Yeah,
(01:56:17):
what do you think? Well, we'll talk about it coming
up next. We'll get you all set for the uh
the Cowboys Chiefs game. And also, I think it's a
pretty good troll job. We will rate the troll job
of one college football head coach after a nice win
on Saturday. I'm Brian no Easy from Salam. This is
Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no Easy from Salam here
(01:56:44):
on Fox Sports Radio. Or again is on the board
touchdown pass. They still trailed by three touchdowns here seven
as Utah still has a firm grasp of this game.
Here not looking good for the Pack twelve. I just
think of the old Pack twelve commissioner Larry Scott. I
(01:57:07):
wonder if he's thinking it wasn't me, it wasn't just
the curse of Larry Scott. Here why we can't get
a team into the college football Playoff. I'm curious what
he's thinking about this. But more of the same, as
the Pac twelve continues to eat its top contender for
the playoff, right, It's unbelievable. It's happened for so many years.
In call it off, Ye, call it off orders, you
(01:57:32):
taught to put it all third string players in. Yeah. Um,
let me ask you about the Cowboys Chiefs game. Huh,
because this is this is one of the best games
of the year so far in terms of the build up.
Are the Chiefs really back? The Cowboys definitely responded in
a big way. They lost to the Broncos. They were
(01:57:53):
losing thirty to nothing, so they get smacked around by
the Broncos. And then last week they just show lack
Atlanta to three. But look at what Atlanta did just
the other night. They were horrible. So it begs the
question like where is this Cowboys team exactly? We've seen
the Chiefs think it up earlier this year. They looked
(01:58:16):
great last week against the Raiders, but do you truly
buy their backs? How do you see this Cowboys Chiefs
game shaking out? You know what, It's hard to put
a finger on it because everything you just mentioned, the
upstad downs, you just never know which team is gonna
(01:58:36):
show up. I think personally that the Chiefs corrected are
in the process of correcting the thing that was beating him,
that's turning the ball over. And also the penalties, like
(01:58:57):
you just can't continue to allow team to stay on
the field by giving them first downs, and the the
the off sides, unsportsmanlike all of these things. I was
just like, what this is crazy. So I think they
cracked down on those things. And the fact that the
(01:59:18):
Chiefs have decided two take those plays, those long drives.
I believe they had like teen play thirteen play four
teen play twelve play drive uncharacteristic of the Chiefs. They
love big chunks, they love splashy plays. They decided we're
(01:59:38):
gonna take what you give us, We're gonna make it happen,
and they were patient. I believe that is a recipe
for success for them. I still start thinking about their
most recent home game. The Chiefs were completely ordinary against
Jordan's Love and the Packers. You know, the Packers play
(02:00:00):
really good defense, they have for a number of weeks now,
But that's a one possession game with Jordan's Love, you know.
So I just I just can't completely trust the Chiefs yet.
But last week was a huge step in the right
direction for them. I can't wait for that game. That's
gonna be a great contest. Cowboys chiefs now, um, let
(02:00:24):
me pick your college football brain here before we get
out of here. The Heisman race, right, it heated up.
So you've got c J. Stroud, the quarterback at Ohio State.
You see his numbers. He threw for over four hundred
yards and six touchdowns in the first half against Michigan State. Yeah,
take him out the game? No Like Okay, buddy, it's mercy.
(02:00:47):
The Buckeyes rolled fifty six to seven. But you also
have Bryce Young, Alabama's quarterback. He threw for a school
record five hundred fifty nine yards in Bama's winning against
Our can Saw. So let me ask you this. If
you're betting on one of these two players to be
the Heisman winner, who would you bet on today? Because
(02:01:09):
think about this big stage for c J. Stroud and
the Buckeyes against Michigan next week. So if he shows out,
it's a big deal. And you also think Bryce Young.
I think he's in the lead right now to win it.
But that SEC Championship game against Georgia and their defense.
So if you're picking one of these two guys to
(02:01:30):
bet on, who are you betting on to win the Heisman.
I would probably go with Bryce. Yeah. I mean, it's
just it's crazy on how will they're able to plug
these quarterbacks in and and and the long line of
NFL receivers and talent around these Alabama quarterbacks. So you know,
(02:01:55):
a lot can change when it comes to that championship
game and see how he stands up against that jew
would your defense? I think if he has a great
game there, I think he walks away with it, no doubt. Yeah,
that's the test. If you think he can, of course
he can, But will he against that defense? You know,
I think C. J. Stroud's in a better position right
(02:02:16):
now because man, that last impression. It's gonna be huge
when it's a close race like this. Now, there was
something funny in college football. It was a great troll job.
Let's rate the troll job. So Mr drink Wits the
head coach at was at Missouri. Missouri beat Florida two
point play at the end of the game. Missouri gets
(02:02:38):
to win. Remember when Dan Mullen, Florida's head coach, where
that goofy Darth Vader costume last year in the postgame
press conference? Was that Halloween and so Missouri's head coach
was trolling Dan Mullin. He put his hoodie up and
he had what was supposed to be a lightsaber, and
(02:02:58):
he said, made the Force be with you in his
postgame press conference and he walked off. That was his
drop to mic moment scale from one to ten. What
would you rate that troll job? Uh? Four four four?
That feeling that went up
