Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports? Pretty all right? Are you okay?
Pretty now? Are you okay? Are you okay? Rich Davis, okay,
I gotta check his his Joni's make sure everything's okay,
that clean? All right? Well, what a day? What a
(00:21):
day of football? Is fine Football Sunday Fun Day with
Cavino and Rich. We are live from the West Side
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. If you want
to chime in, obviously we're gonna go over the takeaways.
And honestly, I feel like you're gonna have a heart attack.
Are you okay? Yeah, honestly, all right, take a deep breath. Team,
did it came down to the wire? Nice game, no
(00:43):
fun game, exciting? Oh my god. And now the Packers
are probably like, oh man, we would have probably I'd
rather face the Cowboys. They want to face the Cowboys.
They wouldn't you like if now they had to face
Toto has one flawed Danny Ja, It's like I got
any foss moving parts. Um, you know when it comes
(01:03):
to schedules. Yeah, that's not my strong suit for sure.
Now I got no no, I got too Alfani's for
two bucks at Macy's. But yeah, now forty Niners Packers
have lots to talk about, lots of fun in the
NFL today, and Riches here in his NFL forty Niners Jammie,
(01:24):
so you know he was watching that game well real close.
Today we're gonna talk about everything from Joe Burrows cool
sunglasses too. Oh I got that Buffalo Bills fans throwing
what on the field? Cool sunglasses? I say, I don't
know about that. So again, lots of football, lots of
nonsense is what we do here Covino Enrich. Everything at
Covino Enrich is Fox Sports Radio. Let's go. I know
(01:45):
a lot of our listeners and friends of the show
are hitting me up in like yo, hop on Instagram
live or something. After that, I'm like, yo, just turn
on Fox Sports Radio. You could hear me lose my mind. Yeah,
um forty nine twenty three Cowboys seventeen. So you don't
like you aren't boy? Bobo isn't here because he's the
Cowboys fan of the show. He's actually in disney Land,
(02:07):
disney Land, Disney World. He's in disney World. He would
have been screaming losing his mind with the referee in
the way there of the ball very end and of course,
Danny G. I was thinking about you when it came
to your Raiders this weekend. But it's a good game.
It was a really good I'll tell you what. And
this is was their game to win too. Man. They
have that, yeah, but it's it's Raiders fans. But after
(02:29):
everything they've been through this year. It sounds corny to say,
but like Raiders fans and that team has nothing to
be ashamed of that at all. Like that's a that's
a good building block moving forward, and you think of
all the obstacles, you know, they you got to be
proud of that team, although you want to win. They
played tough, so lots to talk about, lots of phone
calls to take. So what's on your mind? Man? I
(02:49):
wanted to ask you right out the gate? What is
more stressful as a fan? I ask you don Danny
G Cavino and everyone else eight seven, seven, nine nine
on Fox. Is it more stressful when your team has
a lead and you're trying to hold on or is
(03:10):
it more stressful when your team is coming from behind?
Because the forty Niners early lead away, that's like everything
is going the way you wanted to go. But as
a fan, you experience both of those emotionally draining feelings.
The last two weeks, you're down seventeen nothing to the Rams,
a remarkable comeback. You win this game. You're in cruise
(03:34):
control seven Garoppolo overthrows you, which I at the time,
I said, Yo, that was the icing on the cake.
If things go wrong, you look back at that place
a wide open are you can Jimmy g missild relaxed
a little bit if they made that. But then you're
you're biting your nails being like, oh please hold on,
it's den And then you're like, oh man, why does
(03:56):
it got to be seen? Because a touchdown and an
extra point they win by one, and then you start
thinking one, really if they lose by one. I don't
know what is more stressful as a fan your thoughts.
That's a great question, because I'll tell you this, both stressful, right,
There's no questions every sport, but playing from behind is
(04:17):
always the worst. You take an early lead, especially, like
we said, away, that's where you want to be, so
at least you have the comfort of that all those
stressful holding that lead, you have a great defense, like
until you got hurt. When you are a fan of
a team that is fighting to come back, there's that
(04:37):
sense of excitement of momentum, like are you score and
then on the next series the team you root for,
their defense stops the run second and twelve for a loss,
you're getting fired up, like momentum momentum. When your team
is winning big and it slowly starts slipping away, you
feel the nervous far. It's probably like the team fields
like oh no, like when Jimmy Jeep through that interception
(05:00):
and I felt the anxiety for every forty fan when
when that pick was thrown, like oh no, because now
if they score, it's gonna be twenty three seventeen, and
then that means one score. They win by one. But hey,
stressful game. What I guess it all depends to on
how strong your defense is, right, yeah, but then again
(05:20):
good good good defenses, good defenses like in those in
those end of game situations. Somehow, there's not one clear
answer to this question unless someone has a theory on
it that we can't think of. But you know, wracking,
But we'll take your phone calls an on Fox. This
game just ended, guys, so we're live. Rich is honestly
he he just sat down so he's all fired up
(05:41):
about it and how he pays as a fan, and
then some random takeaways. But we appreciate the phone calls,
the feedbacks at Coveno and Rich Fox Sports Radio dot Com,
the fascinating part as a fan, and we could all relate.
No matter what team or sport you root for, when
your team's in a big game, you make up that
morning you're like, today's gonna be fun. I mean, they're
(06:02):
gonna be aggravated or super happy by the end of
the day. You try not to let your emotions get
too involved, but it's it's a that's that's hogwash, by
the way, trying not to let your emotions get involved.
What's that stuff using a shower to wash your junk? Oh, hogwash,
that's hogwash. Because if they would have lost right now,
(06:22):
you would have been super salty. And everybody knows, like
you were here pacing in the studio. You're like a
little boy watching this stuff. I haven't you know what
I told myself, you really are. Even some of our
friends and some of my relatives hit me like Rich
is like a little kid when it comes to this.
He freaks out. He's having a freak out. Freak out.
I tell myself, I told myself long ago to never
(06:44):
walk in anyone shadow. But I also tell myself long ago,
I told myself to never allow because we work in
sports media, I said, never allow myself to become the
jaded broadcaster that doesn't enjoy it. Well, I don't want to.
I don't want to lose that joy. I don't want
to be the guy that's like, well, I work for
Fox or NBC or ESPN or ABC, and you know,
(07:06):
I just uh, you know now, I just watched the
game like I'm affecting you. I'm I'm painting the picture
for everybody at home. So I said, no matter what
I was like, I don't care what involvement we have
in the sports pop culture media world, I will never
let someone rip the joy of winning and losing and
watching your team fail, fail or succeed. Danny G. Well,
(07:28):
you know what we can ask DANNYG. Danny G. But
you've worked in this game for a while. In this game,
you're invested. You saw your Raiders play tough but lose.
Um two questions. Does it affect your mood? And what's
more stressful playing from behind or holding that lead? It
definitely affects my mood. But when I'm at work, I
have to control myself because at home I pace the
(07:49):
same way Rich Davis doing in the courtyard. I saw
him from the parking mea, hey, you can take true story,
true story, true story, Danny g I'm doing this for
a long time, right, Rich and I One time, I
don't know what was going on, but he was in Texas, right,
and he's on the phone. He's on the phone pacing around.
Probably had money on a game or something. Forty nine
is probably playing at the time. He's pacing around the
(08:11):
parking lot in Texas, some random store. Someone called the
police on him, like I got some maniac, some maize,
some jittery maniac. Stop pacing in the parking lot and
he's scaring the children. A cop pulls up on me,
like what are you doing with, sir? I'm like what
the officer, what's going on here? He's like, we got
a call that you are surveying the parking on I'm like, no,
(08:34):
I'm just pacing here. You're casing the joint. I'm just pacing.
It's the fourth corner, officer. You looked, you looked maniacal,
crazy act we're on Okay, in Sherman Oaks, California. We
are on a famous corner of Ventura Boulevard, and there
are a lot of homeless, crazy homeless people in this area. Yeah,
(08:54):
someone gave me a dollar because you were talking to yourself,
because you were shouting. That's what you've fit, right, And
so I feel like that. But in my own living
room at work, I have to really just hold it together.
Yesterday I was here and I just I didn't show
a ton of emotion. I just held it together. Um. Yeah,
I think I think playing from behind is a little
more stressful. I think so. Yeah, you always like you
(09:18):
always want the lead. But I'll say I have one
theory of any time, any time my team goes into
halftime ZIP, I'm always shook. In high school. In high school,
we had three games where we went up ZIP and
all of them we ended up winning, but they only
one by like two one Like we never they comfortable
(09:44):
Because the team is comfortable, right, they don't need to
make adjustments. They just need to keep playing tough. And
that team always takes the foot off the pedal a
little bit while the other team plays harder and makes
adjustments and that's what happens, man, So I think you
always I'm gonna always take the lead. I have to
pay but for but anytime, that's what I'm kind of like,
(10:04):
I hold it together. Yeah, I'm with you, Don Brown, everybody.
We got Danny g here, we got Steve de Seger's
Cavino and Riches. Fox Sports Radio, we got you on
the phones. We appreciate it. Eight seven Fox Your takeaways
and again, what's more stressful to you? My My takeaways are,
by the way, Rich, congratulations buddy, because I feel that's
your team. They won and you rooted very hard. So
(10:27):
I mean you're like the uh You're like the Jackson
Mahomes to the Chiefs. You cheer very hard for your Yes,
Rich has dance moves and everything. So you know, I'm
mad at myself for not doing a six team parlay
on the six teams I thought would win this weekend
because as of right now, as of right now, I mean,
(10:49):
we talked about this last week, and we talked about
it in depth on our Patreon during the week. Bengals,
well we'll get to all this, but Bengals hottish young team.
You knew that even though the Raiders are playing tough.
We we both like the Bengals in that game. I
love the Buffalo Bills. Last night, I thought that it
was time for Josh Allen to step it up. I
(11:09):
didn't think it would be a blowout like that, but
I had since that weird stat first ever big perfect
offensive game. It's unbelievable in a playoff. Yeah, I knew
that Tom Brady would just you know, step on the gas.
He one today. I like the Niners, so if my
other two picks are right, Kansas City should cover. I
think Kansas City will destroy Pittsburgh tonight and then Monday night.
(11:31):
I like the Ramps, So I mean maybe maybe maybe.
Of course I'll go six or six in a parlay
that I forget to place. Would'd that be typical? Uh?
Let's say it's up to Matt in Houston. Matt, you're
out with Covine on Rich Fox Football Sunday Wild Card Weekend.
What's up? Hey, y'all? Do it? So? First off, Raider Nation,
we better not fire Rich Bisacio because he's guided the
(11:55):
ship this whole time. He deserves a chance, for sure.
Oh of worse, Now, if I had to pick, of course,
I want to be in the lead. But as a
high eye coach high school football down here, it's all
about momentum. Whoever has the momentum. If I'm behind, but
I am momentum, I'm comfortable. If I'm ahead and I
have momentum, I'm comfortable. Maybe that's not the answer you're
(12:15):
looking for, but that's the answer I got. That's really
all I got. You know what, Matt, that's actually sort
of the answer I was looking for, because if you
compared this week to last week, I enjoyed the forty
niners come back to beat the Rams more than today
because today I felt like they were playing well and
almost but it's they almost well last week equal if
(12:36):
they lost, the were out, I mean, still be getting
further and further, one step further. But last week my
feeling was, yeah, if they deliver and win, Wow, Today
was more of a you know, you're gonna left this
slip away like I think today was more aggravating. It's
nice the difference between your game to win or your
game to lose. You know, that's just also kind of
(12:57):
stressful in these scenarios. Thank you, Matt. Let's go to
David in Baltimore. What's up, David, coming on rich good
even how you thanks for taking my call tonight? I mean, boy,
did the referees try to give that game? And I'm
not a I'm not a Dallas fan or of San
Francisco fan, but man, did the referees try to give
the game to Dallas by the play before that, you know,
when he definitely had the first down and they just said, well,
(13:18):
we don't want to make the crowd mad, so we'll
say he didn't get them down. I mean, listen, they
were there. It calls against Dallas, and I'm like, man,
Dallas fans are gonna be mad. But then they showed
the replay and even Tony Romo was like, what's with
the whole? Like you couldn't not see it if you're
if you're, if you're a line judge, there was there
was one in a key spot, and it's like, oh, man,
did the Niners get a call? And then you watched
the replay and the guy almost took the forty nights
(13:39):
helmet off. And also and also about the game tonight,
you know, you can't count Pittsburgh. I can I can't.
They're counted out there. I can't wait, hold on, this
is great. This is great for everybody hanging out with us,
because Rich is already talking smack. He's feeling himself right now.
He's team just won, so he's extra confident that the
(13:59):
Steelers they're gonna wait by twenty or more, which is
gonna make it extra fun tonight. Man. As you guys know,
if you're in your car, Steelers getting ready to take
on the Chiefs, and we'll give you the plays as
it happens, like a priest Holmes psyching up the crowd.
You see they had Ikey Woods yesterday. We're gonna get
to all that. Let's take one more quickie. Drome you're
(14:19):
on in South Carolina, will take all your phone calls.
Love hanging with you guys here on Fox Sports Radio,
keeping on Rich. What's up Jaron? Everybody I called? I
called job last week and I told you when I
found out the Cowboys were to draw, I said, the
forty nine is we're a dangerous team. I've watched my
opinion at least one time on this network. Well, how
overrated the compos I mean, what the Cowboys work. By
(14:42):
the way, draft warm, because you're going to freeze, they're
saying at all they're saying they're saying that that could be.
They did the forecast like I saw earlier this week.
I know it's hard to agree with like ten day forecast,
but they're saying it could be a top five cold
this game the NFL history, so lots of vigor prescribed
(15:03):
or what other players. I'm gonna send Jimmy ge some
warm socks since it play. Oh you know what, fuzzy socks?
We gotta we have to talk about that. Can Danny
j just think about this for later if we have time.
There's lots of great football to talk about. But is
it okay? Is it acceptable for grown ass man to
wear fuzzy socks? You know, like like your girlfriend wears,
like your wife wears at home? Is that acceptable, like
(15:25):
once you get from Hooters? No, no, no, no, no, no,
fuzzy socks. Well, we'll talk about that later if we
have time. Alright, well listen, we'll break We'll come back more.

Fox Sports Radio with Cavino and Rich Welcome back. We're
(16:30):
at Covino Enrich on social media at Steve Cavino at
Rich Davis. Thanks for all the feedback. We'll take your
phone calls at eight seven on Fox, the most interactive
show on Fox Sports Radio according to US. In fact,
want to go right to the fun. You know, your
takeaways from today, from this weekend, as we see the
Steelers defense is all fired up. Rich. You know, you're
(16:51):
talking a lot of smack that they don't have a chance,
but the Steelers playing with house money, they look fired up.
I know, Big band play still scoreless find games all
week with what are underdogs? We don't stand the chance.
Let's have fun. Oh he almost got pictures. Now I
could have got picked. But let me remind everyone, it
was like three weeks ago that the Chiefs beat the
(17:13):
Steelers ten. It was thirty six three until there was
like some garbage late fourth quarter touchdown, but I think
by Mason Rudolph, so it wasn't even big man. This
this game is the throwaway game, and it reminds you
that the two seed versus the seventh seed. I mean,
this year, at least it looks like the seven seeds
at an easy seen a lot of crazy games this
(17:35):
year though, any year for an upset is this year.
But we want to go to the phones your takeaways,
Riches really Anthebauts forty nine is pulling that out today.
And the main question we've posted so far, rich post
is there are more pressure on you know, rooting, more
stress rooting for your team if they have the lead
or holding onto that lead. Yeah, do you want to
(17:56):
do you want to watch your team fight back or
hold the lead. We'll take your phone calls, your feedback.
And so far with the Super wild Card weekend, as
they keep branding it Super wild Card weekend. It's been
super wild. We're two and two now with our bets.
Were two and two with two games were stinkers and
two games were good. And I predict that this will
(18:18):
be a stinker and tomorrow will be good. So you
had a great game, Danny J. Nothing to hold your
head about the Raiders Cincinnati. That was a great game.
It was a great game last night. I was very
It was very easy for me to be like, you know,
you ever pulled this trick a way to tell your wife,
like you know, I'm gonna turn off the game because
I wants been talking with you. It was very easy
(18:39):
to do that during the Bill's Patriots game and seem
like I meant it like, honey, you know it's it's
unlikely to do that. But I did the same thing.
You know what I said. I'm like, I'm gonna catch
up on Yellow Jackets, I show you keep talking about
good show. Because that game was so boring and so
over I kept I kept checking on Twitter because Twitter
is great with like showing you the big plays, like
another touchdown. Let me just go to Belichick said he's
(19:02):
not going anywhere though he said it me that'd be
accurate in regards to coming back next year. Levi in Idaho,
it's up, Levi, guys, thanks for taking my call. What's up?
I'm gonna go back to that Dallas Cowboys and forty
Niners game. I'm not a fan of either, but at
some point, do you think that the NFL needs to
look at some of the athleticism and some of the
(19:25):
stamina of these NFL refs. I am not disregarding that
these rests aren't athletic or anything like that, but do
you think the end of that game would have been
different if that ref would have ran up to the
ball quicker. Yes, I know Dak Prescott handed the ball
to the lineman to a center, sorry, and he should
have went to the ref. But do you think if
the if the NFL rest were a little bit more
(19:46):
athletic to where if he could have spiked that ball
with one second left that they listen, they would have
got they would have got a shot at they would
have got one shot at the end zone. You're right,
I mean, have you seen ed hockey les biceps? These
guys are not out of shape. Ref's gotta run a
four to forty next year for for Levin thanks for
the call. Brother. Um, I'll tell you this, I think
(20:07):
the NFL raps are in better shaped than like mlb umpires,
so I'll give him credit for that. Mlb umpires look
like fat uncle and a barbecue, and hockey definitely more
ripped than I am. So I really can't talk that much.
Let's go to MT in Olympia. What's up? Emmett? Hey amtt,
what's up? Guys? Rich? I'm sure you're going crazy right
(20:31):
now with that Niners win and out Tom Danny g
I told U, I said that him and Donn and
Dis Sager need to book my picks. I'm four and
oh and I have the Steelers and the Cardinals, you
know for the next couple of games. You know what.
You and I are both four and oh, but I
got I got Chiefs Rams, so I'd like to say
Chiefs Cardinals. I was gonna say, you got the Steelers, huh,
(20:53):
but you love that twelve and a half huh. You know?
But my uh, my thing is what the Niners game
is kind of what's the last dude say it is?
I just don't understand why back would want to, you know,
to do the run situation with like thirty seconds and
then try not to like he gave me to the
center and said the rest, like what are you doing?
And Jimmy G that guy, he's lucky man like that.
(21:15):
He had a couple of costly plays like the obviously
the interception could have you know, it didn't really matter,
but it did. Yeah, I mean I think Jimmy G
for the most party, for the most part, played a
great game. Yeah, if they lose that game, we all
look back at that bad interception to overthrow. But to
be honest, you look at some of the great games
throughout history, the quarterback doesn't always have like some six
that line confident. The way they came out and started
(21:40):
that game pretty much set the tone for most of
the game. And that's you gotta give credit to Jimmy
G there. And you don't you don't want your team
to ever fall short of the championship. But I was
telling Covino off the air just now, I'm like, yeah,
I go into Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers and the
Packers just beat him. I'm not going to be upset.
I'll tell you why. It's just all year long, I've
been telling people because I watched the Validates the validates that.
(22:04):
I said, you know, the Niners might not be the
best team, but when people are like stink, I'm like, no, no,
they might not be the best, but I'm telling you
they got great weapons. They're good teams. Danny Chief feels
I'm sure about his Raiders. There's certain teams and I'll
look at that. Here comes feel for the Chiefs, Here
come the Chiefs. They have it on Fox is Super
(22:28):
wild Card weekend. Rich Super wild Card Weekend and uh
my two favorite stats of the weekend. You said you
were really sold on the bills. Well, you know what
it is. It's uh, you bring up this point throughout
the whole year. So I'll give you credit because you
don't always loves to say yeah, we love the storylines,
we love the fun. But at the end of the year,
(22:48):
when the teams you think are going to be there
are there, it just makes you realize all the stuff
you talked about along the way. It's just fun, you know,
guy or girl. Father like it was just fun father
with your buddy and friends. And on the radio and
I heard, uh Fox Sports Radio is Colin Cowherd saying,
every every quarterback who deserves to be there is there.
It's it's if you look at the a f C
(23:08):
right now, right, I mean, I'm assuming a lot here
because they still have to play fifty minutes left to
the sixty minute game. But if the Chiefs win tonight,
is it any surprise that it's Mahomes, Josh Allen Burrow
and Jama Chase who had blown it up and and
the Titans showed played solid all year. There's no surprise.
There is no like shocker. So it's just a lot
(23:31):
of babbel and hot air throughout the year. And look
at the NFC. You can say the same thing. You
know what man said it you don't have to give
me the credit. You don't have to give me the credit.
I appreciate it. I believe Macho Man said the cream
rises to the top. I believe us my mom that
says it all comes out in the wash or something
like that. But the Buffalo Bills had the NFL's first
(23:51):
ever perfect offensive game. No punts, no picks, no fumbles lost,
no field goals, all touchdowns on every single drive until
the Neil downs against the top five defense. So the
Bills looking like they're on fire. And my second favorite
stat was, you know people got to finally send their
first text about the Bengals winning, and Jon Gruden was
(24:13):
the first one to text that out because it had
to be weird for him. You don't think so? Yeah? Probably?
Um yeah, you know that fun fact that no one's
ever texted their buddy like, hey, the Bengals won a
playoff game because he because everywhere everywhere it was like
because text messaging. It was invented a year after they
won their less playoff game, said the Bill Jackson cars
Right immediately, Brett Farve texted allude photo to a woman
(24:38):
um to say, are you ready for your update? My man?
Sorry phone? Just rank? What did you say? You're ready
for an update? Absolutely? And I can't wait for one
more game after that. We're not really counting this game tonight.
I think all of us secretly are saying, yeah, okay,
it's football, it's on. We're watching. But you know, yeah
I listen. I mean on games like this, there there's
(24:59):
a party that's like, you know, even if I lost
a couple of bucks, if the underdog really comes out
anywhere and wins, it's just good. Like, but aren't you
just looking for the Steelers to put up a big
fight like a nice fight. Wouldn't it be cool? Now?
I thought that would be cool. I can't say we're
actually looking for that. I thought, have your referenced. We
saw the game three weeks ago. It wasn't like it
wasn't like week two, and the teams are different now.
(25:19):
It was three weeks ago and it was a blowout.
And yeah, I made I made one bet today and
I thought it was like a lock, But then again,
everyone thinks they're bets of locks. It was a teaser,
it was. I put it on our Instagram earlier today.
Bucks minus two. You took it from eight to two,
and you took this game the Chiefs from minus twelve
(25:40):
and a half to minus six and a half. So
you needed Brady to him by a field goal and
the Homes to him by a touchdown. I said, if
I lose that bet, then I deserve to lose, because
that seems to me as automatic as a bet could
get hydromatic. Yeah, Steelers easily the worst in total yardage
among playoff teams, only twenty points per game, worst among
playoff teams this year. They've had the ball twice so
far to three and ounce six plays two yards. The
(26:03):
game is scoreless at Kansas City as we go toward
mid This is a news desk. We deal with facts,
and the facts are it was thirty six three late
in the game. Facts are hating three weeks ago. I
like that line though, just a news desk. Facts did
say anything in the last minute that was an opinion,
(26:24):
throw them down and walk out. Like credit to Pittsburgh.
They finished the year only a half game behind Cincinnati
in the North. They got in because they managed to
tie against Detroit. If they'd lost that overtime game, they
would not have been in because they lost head to
head at the Chargers. They would have lost the tie
breaker with the Chargers. Pittsburgh's here charges are not congratulations.
(26:45):
We're not expecting thirty points from Pittsburgh. This is not
your this is not I was gonna say your father's.
It's not even like Pittsburgh from two or three years.
They really really should have addressed the quarterback spot quite
a while ago. Dallas is out San Francisco seventeen win.
It was twenty three to seven early in the fourth quarter,
and key to the game Robbie Gold three for three
(27:07):
on field goals in the first half. He was fifty
three from forty yards from fifty two years, never missed
one in the playoffs, right, Yeah, I noticed they made
sure to say that afterwards. They have the power to
somehow get in his head. It's like the stupid baseball
announcers who don't actually tell us there's a no hitter
going on because they think magical picture will hear him.
(27:27):
Elijah Mitchell. Facts are if for no hitters going, it's
kind of your job to tell the audience that, just
saying Elijah Mitchell twenty seven carries ninety six yards and
a touchdown. San Francisco will play at top seeded Green
Bay next weekend. So we know that with this game
Monday night Arizona at the Rams, that winner will go
(27:47):
to Tampa next weekend. Tampa Bay eliminated Philadelphia thirty one
to fifteen. It was thirty one nothing in the third quarter.
Philly finishes at nine and nine bucks All Pro tackle
Tristan Worth's left with an ankle injury. We saw the
San Francisco injuries on defense with Nick Bosa and Tred
Warner today as well. In the NBA, Phoenix gotta win
at Detroit one thirty five to one oh eight, and
(28:11):
it was also a Rockets rare win at Sacramento one
eighteen one twelve. Houston had been twelve and thirty two
this year. Back to you, all right, thank you, Steve
the Seger. You know what. Welcome back to Cavino and
Rich Something I noticed in Yeah, we'll go over our
typical things that make you go any takeaways from wild
Card weekend the Super wild Card weekend. We watched, like
(28:32):
I said, four games so far, two really good ones
too snoozers. But I'm curious what your takeaways are because
I have one, and I'm not that wimpy fan that's
like take them out, send them. But in both of
these blowouts, I feel like Tom Brady and Josh Allen
both played a little too long for my liking them.
I think, am I like a lame fan for thinking
you know, I mean, I think a lot of people
(28:54):
we're thinking that I don't know what the right move is.
Definitely cross my mind. There's the point where it's like
five degree is negative seven winshow I'm like, yo, get
Josh Allen and get Beasley Digs, get all these guys
and give him hot coco and give him the fuffy
socks and and you know, putting your backups New Engles
not coming back. I felt that way about Tom Brady today.
(29:16):
I'm like, why is it the fourth quarter and your
forty four year old quarterback is getting sacked? Stop it.
That's what I was thinking the whole time. You know, uh,
you being a forty Niners guy all hyped up? What's
your take on? I mean, we heard Steve Disiger bringing
up Bosa and Fred Warner beying out like is that
a concern? You never you never want to downplay injuries.
(29:38):
But the Bosa is a concussion protocol thing, so he's
gonna have to go through all that. So you hope
that he passes that and and he's all good to
go and he's healthy. Fred Warner was bouncing around at
the end. Let's hope that wasn't just adrenaline. But it's
an ankle thing, and that's very difficult. As we've learned
over the last couple of years. I feel like high
ankle sprain or any type of ankle injury is like
the cryptonite of teams. Right can't help, but you know,
speculate on that though every player counts, regain counts. Right now,
(30:01):
everything's magnified. You know that's gonna be a storyline moving forward.
I was just I spoke too soon, man, I spoke
too said I was. I was just about to say
the Pittsburgh defense and special teams, to quote Macho Man
a second time today, they should be so proud of
themselves and then they just give up a huge pot
(30:21):
return inside the red zone. Kansas City has the ball
six and a half left in the first quarter. Yeah,
they'll probably put points on the board here for sure,
So we'll see what happens. All right again the number
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. I feel like
I'm neglecting the Twitter at Covino and Rich if you
guys want to hit us up there, because we understand
the world doesn't, you know, make phone calls as much
(30:42):
as they used to. In fact, when my buddies call me,
I'm sort of reluctant to answer, what do you want?
I'm like, just text me, bro, you, especially Rich, just
text me. I'm a big caller with you. I'm sorry
Rich wants to call and chatter. See the fired up man.
You're talking a lot of smacks, Steve the Sagar did
(31:03):
that with a bowl game, Like remember it was a
bowl game. Like a month ago. Remember it's like ketto
Susan firm control. I got facts in the newsroom and
Pittsburgh on fire. Facts were about to Pittsburgh golfriends. They
do look hyped, though they do. I mean, not that
that necessarily translates too, you know, victory, but nonetheless just
(31:26):
it's you know, the fact that it's zero zero and
it might be a scoreless first quarter is good news
for the competitive people that like to watch a game, right.
Shout out to g Off who hit us up. Shout
out to Brian Albert's who hit us up. He sent
that photo you know from the New England Buffalo game.
You know that that we're gonna talk about that boy
that ended up on the field. We're gonna hungry, hungry hippos.
(31:49):
And when I say Toy, it wasn't. It wasn't my
pitt monster, a girlfriends pet mother. Um. So, I I
wanted to bring up something that had I mean, listen,
it has to do with football, but has to do
with sports in general. Let me throw it out there
because I was reading this earlier. You guys down with
(32:10):
the sickness, he disturbed, Down with the sickness. Are you
down with Magic Johnson criticizing the Lakers. Don I know
you're a Lakers guy, right I am. I'm wondering, like,
out of respect, don't you feel like Russ out of respect?
Was like, yeah, I'm not gonna say anything out of respect,
but do you think Magic Johnson should like should be
(32:32):
being like the Busses deserve better and this team stinks?
Like how to do current players respond when the legends?
That would be like if Aikman or Tony Romo, We're like, yeah,
that should have stepped it up to they stink, Like
when a legend speaks, is it the current player's job
to just sort of bite their tongue? I would think so. Um.
But at the same time, these are still grown men
(32:56):
at the end of the day opinions with the opinions,
and they're doing their job. It's like the age old Oh,
I don't come to your job and tell you how
to do yours or whatever the case. Maybe um, but
at the same time, it's Magic and he's a legend,
and you know what you see Shack and Barkley the
NBA and will say the n b A their analysts
seemed to be the toughest on current players compared to
(33:18):
other sports, Like you don't see you don't see a
halftime show, you know, like Rex Ryan's a blow hard
to see him on the other network once in a while. Yeah,
happy happen. But besides Rex Ryan, like people are pretty respectful, right,
has any other sports mommate players apologize? Shack had apologison
Jabel McGee because like, maybe on them. I just think
(33:38):
when you see Magic Johnson, who's a pretty like respected
guy in everything he does, Like, people love Magic Johnson
except except Twitter, Magic Johnson coming out and just being like, yo,
this team has no heart there giving up? They got
not Like what is Russ supposed to? His opinion holds
a lot of weight to you know, if anyone's supposed
to make that statement, maybe it is him. And speaking
(34:02):
of legends, speaking of legends, didn't Cream of Bull Jubar
also speak out against somebody this year and got some backlash.
He was he was beefing with somebody because he called
somebody out. Now I'm drying a blank on it right now,
do you guys remember? But again his kareem calling out
other people? Well your thoughts, let's get the phones going again.
Eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox we'll keep you
(34:23):
up to day on what's going on in the game.
If you're stuck in the car on your app as
right now, still scoreless, Pittsburgh Big Bend looking all mad
because that was a slant pass that should have been caught.
I'm gonna tie both things together real quick, right quick,
while we keep you posted on this game. Steelers looking hype,
Cavino and Rich you know, speaking of Magic Johnson, I
(34:46):
saw him make a cameo. Word up, it's the code word.
I saw make a cameo in the Joe Montana documentary.
Your guy, You're fort hero, the Goat before the Goat.
I don't know what your your thoughts on Joe Montana
giving up the truth on the Rudy story. Yeah, I
(35:06):
have a thought on that, and we'll break it down next,
as well as all your wild Card weekend stuff Fox Football, Sunday,
Funday more next all around the world statues Crumble for
Steve me Steve Cavino. Shout out to my guy, Mark McGrath.
I like him. I like Mark is a good dude.
We work with him when we're at Essex. Good guy.
(35:27):
But this is Fox Sports Radio. You know what, Mark
McGrath narrates Dark Side of the Nineties on Netflix. Have
you watched that? Oh, Noise Noise? Fox Sports Radio dot Com,
the I Heart Radio app sex M Channel eighty three.
Thank you guys for being here. We're at Coveno and
Rich welcome back. Hit us Up eight seven on Fox.
Fox Football Sunday Funday Super wild Card Weekend per satisfying.
(35:51):
I hope you've had a great day watching your games,
a great weekend. Like Rich said, We've had two great
games to snooze Ruse and Uh. So far this game,
I don't know. This game is tight. So far, everybody's
playing a little tight. Maybe he's really cold. Hell, I
don't know, Chi, but I posed the question Rich. We're
gonna go to the phones to say, what's up your
(36:12):
takeaways for this Sunday from this weekend ninety nine on Fox.
But I was watching like everyone's watching Man in the Arena.
Even the Tom Brady haters can't deny that his documentary
is great. Tom Brady's Man in the Arena just is inspiring. Right,
He's great. He's the goat. But the goat before the
(36:33):
goat was your guy, Joe Montana. He was everybody's guy,
though everybody thought Joe was cool. I thought he was
cool growing up. But you're a forty Niners fan. He
has a documentary on Peacock and it's called Cool under Pressure, right,
and it's sort of going under the radar a little bit, definitely,
But if you're following social media and you're following the trends,
(36:53):
and if you check out TikTok every once in a while,
people are really freaking out about how open and honest
he was about the Rudy story. Now, before I posed
the question, I do want to say this, Joe Montana
is so endearing. I want to give the guy hug.
Came here and your sketchers and give me a hug.
Give here are you and your sketchers? Give me here,
Give me a hug. He seems like such a nice guy,
especially when he's talking about his wife, you know, just
(37:15):
a very humble guy. Seems like a really nice guy.
We've interviewed him, nice dude. But in this documentary he
comes across really likable, lovable. He's an older guy. Now
you know what he's like speaking on behalf of this
this young study used to be. You could tie it
all together because in the Tom Brady documentary, he talks
about the fable of the Chinese Farmer. Maybe like you
(37:37):
never know if something is good or bad until it's over.
Like Joe Montana lost the championship game in eight three
two Washington, but bad that he lost. Maybe maybe you
don't know because of that he was in Los Angeles
around the top of the Super Bowl, met his wife
(37:57):
of thirty six years. So maybe you're reminded of a
story and all his comeback wins and all the magic
he created. I mean, when I think of my favorite magicians,
I think of I think of amazing Jonathan Kreskin, Copperfield
and Chris angel and Montana and in Montana, the guy
just he was magic when they needed it. But they
(38:20):
asked him about or they tell the story when he
heard his thump, when he heard his finger and he
couldn't play at Notre Dame. So because he couldn't play,
they let Rudy Rudiger go in there and he gets
his legendary sack from the movie Rude. It's my only
problem with Joe Montana. He should let us think the
(38:42):
stupid story from the movie. Well, here's why is he
telling us the true? Like the social media takeaway is
how could they have not put this into the movie,
that the only reason Rudy got the place because the
great Joe Montana did. But Rich, you know, you and
I talked about this off the year. You're absolutely right.
It's a better Hollywood story if the whole team says no, coach.
(39:06):
You know, I hate that Joe Montana ruined the idea
of like all the players, like coach, I'm up playing.
Here's my jersey for Rudy. Joe Montana, he says on
the documentary, He's like, yeah, that had never happened. He's like,
you want me to tell you the real story. The
real story is we sort of like hoisted he got
the sack. He got the sack, but we sort of
(39:28):
hoisted him up as a joke. And we probably wouldn't
have done it had we known that no one's ever
been carried off the field before. But he he says
it jokingly, you know, because to him is a funny story.
But he he ruins. He kills the ruins the Rudy
fantasy and inspiration. My only problem should he have kept
(39:50):
the dream alive or should he have told his truth?
Is the question. My only problem with the great Joe Montana.
Let's let's take your phone call. So we'll start with
Jacob and Tampa. All your big takeaways, things that made
you m Super wild Card weekend. What's up, Jacob, How
are you guys doing today? What's up? Buddy? You got
twenty seconds? Hey, I just want to let you guys know,
for this Picksburg and Chiefs game, I mean, this is
(40:11):
dor dive for the Steelers, but this is also a
door dictor big bench career right now. Yeah, so there's
a little more incentive. But I mean, if you watch
the game three weeks ago, unless you think these teams
drastically changed, so blowout. We'll keeping the loop on that,
plus all your takeaways, and I have a theory on
Jimmy j we'll talk some NFC playoffs moving forward. More
(40:32):
co Rich next right, Fox Football Sunday Funday, Cavino and
Rich at Covino and Rich, welcome back Super wild Card Weekend.
Super wow Wow Wow Wow. Muciancho. Hope you enjoyed your
football this weekend. Then we're at Covino and Rich or
(40:55):
call us at eight seven, seven nine on Fox. Everybody
keep their tonies on. We're gonna get to the phone calls.
And by the way, do you feel like you can
I can't be the only one. This is the time
of the year that the NFL really bridges the gap
for nothing else going on in the world. Like, if
it we're not for NFL playoffs right now, what else
(41:16):
is going on that? You You got the post Christmas
holiday blues? The weather stinks even a nice place, this
chilly out, Like you're not doing anything if not for
NFL playoffs. Like to me, it is January. That's January,
NFL playoffs. You and Dexter's over. Yeah. Yellow Jackets, Uh
finale tonight, Yellow Jackets pretty good. I'm sort of getting
(41:39):
invested in that. Uh, you know, my wife and I
started watching last night. You're gonna You're gonna get mad
because I know you and your girl watched The Bachelor
and I'm not on it. Well that's not on this week.
We watched the episode one of Joe Millionaire. Is It
any Good or so dumb? Was one of the o
g chest shows from back in the day. That's back anyway.
I was just going through social medi media and social
(42:00):
media's going star and Buck wild Rich on Miserable Cowboys
Fans like if you if you scroll like every two scrolls,
is some sad high like some sad fan crying in
the stands. What was gonna happen? They went to a
commercial break and there was this poor woman, a black
woman with curly hair, and she looked like she looked
like like mad as hell. And even when they came back,
(42:23):
I said, I turned to my wife and my friends
was over. I said, yo, she doesn't realize it. She's
a meme. They get back to the broadcast, even Jim
Nance and Romo are saying, yo, look at her. She's
on her phone because her friends are telling her she's amazing.
All over social media, sad cowboys, sad couples, said, cowboys fans.
If you're a sad fan, hit us up. There's a
(42:43):
whole collage of those pictures and the caption says, Skip
Bayless's family photo on her great though it looks so miserable.
Seven seven ninety nine on Fox riches the opposite because
he's a forty nine ers. Forty nine got lifelong. Forty
nine can and it can end in a week. But
the playoffs are just fun. In fact, I looked it up.
(43:04):
There has been the initial odds for next week. I
think the Fortnighters we get a lot of respect here.
It's Packers at home minus five and a half, which
I think that's a I think that sounds about right
right the way. Is it gonna be a house divided
next week at your at your place? Yea. My wife
and her family are Packers fans. Maybe that's something we
discuss later on if we have time, because there's so
much going on. House divided. And by the way, who
(43:28):
has to say on on who your son roots for
as he develops an alliance? Come on, I mean, I'm
assuming it's you, Kevin in Culver City. I have an
interesting thought. I was talking to our buddy Don, who's
running the boards during the break we're gonna I thought
about what it takes for each team to want to
make some changes. Kevin. We'll get to a second, but
you first. What's up, buddy? What's going on? Buddy? I
(43:50):
want to do you a quick Joe Montana story, real quick.
I met him on the sidelines. I was on the
side Oaks Christian game on his son Nick Montana was playing,
and I had no idea Joe was gonna be there.
He's one of my favorite Niners, and you know they're
high five and after the game he comes up, I
high five and give him a nice bear hug and
he see the coolest guy, nicest guy you ever meet.
(44:11):
You know what you just said that hold on the
Kansas City Chiefs fumbled and Pittsburgh recovered was a fum
where just like steal the ball, he fumbled and tried
to pick it up, didn't fall on it. What what
recovered touchdown Pittsburgh six. Nothing. So yeah, we'll keep you
posted and to back you up, to back you up.
(44:32):
But Joe montana Is, he's so likable in his new documentary,
but he does, he does break the glass and ruin
the whole story. As we knew everything when it came
to Rudy, great, great guy and real quick about Jimmy.
You know, Jimmy G showed us everything about Jimmy G.
I just be a little real estate on this. He
sold why the Niners wrapt the tray lance because he
had brand wide open, he missed the throw and then
(44:55):
he bought them back with the interception. I was screaming
like they're gonna give him the game, but he sold
is Pois At the end of the game and he
stayed committed to the run. I thought that was good
on Shanna too. He wanted to throw so back to
just run the ball with Debona Lisa Mitchell and those
Dallas officials I called them the Dallas officials did everything
to give Dallas the game back. I said, they're gonna
(45:16):
give Dak the ball back. They spotted the ball first
of all, that was the first tow with Devil. They
spot back. And then the trap boyas false start like
the guy didn't even move be like Snee didn't even know.
I hate And by the way, Kevin, I hate when
official excuses like well, the team and the refs, the
Cowboys fans should just realize the team was on discipline
(45:39):
today because there are times where I'm like, oh man,
that the Friday nine is gonna call and like I said,
so sad. Yeah, I mean they did not. Just a
poorly disciplined game by the Cowboys. And and He's so right,
Jimmy and g He is like the girl you date
that just when you're about to get the uabos to
break up, she's like seduces you. Like it's it's it's
(46:00):
like you're like, yeah, baby, we need to we need
tickets for vacation. That baby, baby, we need to talk. Yeah,
but first I got tickets for cover this weekend. You're like, oh,
she bought you a new PlayStation. You're like, baby, baby,
it's we we have to have a chat. But first
let me show you that Jordan's I bought you Jimmy
(46:21):
g Right, he makes a mistake and you're like, that's
that's Jimmy g And then you're like, wait, poise and
confidence and and and that's where I want to pose
this next question. But I do want to get to
the people on the phone because I love the feedback.
So Rich in Texas, what's up, Rich? Hey? Rich? Hey,
how's it going. Guys? What's up? Hey? Uh? First of all,
(46:43):
I just want to say I'm not a Dallas fan,
but so far as this playoffs, I think there was,
you know, a lot more controversy on calls or replays
or non replays because I think when that referee went
all he had to do at the end of that
play was touched the ball. But if you notice, he
actually picked the ball up and move the backyard and
reset it, which actually caused the Cowboys to be offside. Uh.
(47:05):
But other than that Cowboys fans they shouldn't be crying.
I mean, they made it into the playoffs and they
only beat one playoff team the whole year and it
was the Eagles. So that's my take on the playoffs
so far. Yeah, you know it's uh. I'm gonna talk
about the whole concept of running the back in just
a little bit. But thanks man, Minnesota, James, you're on
the show coven on Rich Fox Sports Radio. James Allara,
(47:26):
James here for you for us. Good evening, good, good evening.
What's up, sir, Hey man, I had a question for you.
What number did Joe Montana where when he was in
the Kansas City after he retired. Don't you think the
Vikers deserve a good quarterback to get out of retire man,
Maybe like a Jimmy Garoppolo or Ben Roethlisbergler or somebody
(47:49):
in that caliber. They could have had Josh Allen, but
when they got Brett Fire they went to the championship game,
they took a to them. Baby. That's right, brother, let
me tell you this guy's out of his mind. Uh. Montana,
we're number nineteen as a Chief, which was his childhood number,
and then the Chiefs had already tired, retired number sixteen.
By the way, um Stealers up seven, Steelers up seven, nothing,
(48:13):
which surprising. But in second, you know, anything happen, anything
happened while they play the game. I mean, anything could happen.
But people have nothing to lose in this case, this
team with nothing to lose, it's dangerous. Yeah, everyone to
get in the ring with somebody has nothing to That's
why I never want to get in a fight. That's why.
Somebody nothing. That's why if I usually if you're let's
(48:35):
say you had a couple of drinks and you're like
someone's mouthing off to at the bar or something, I
assess that presson. Like if this person looks like they
got nothing going on in their life, that's a dangerous person.
I'm backing away. I'm like, you don't wanna, you don't
want to mess with. You don't want to with someone
that's not not much to lose with this in perspective, rich,
who's the pressure on tonight? Yeah? If Patrick Mahomess just
made a nice pass as we speak, that's one Tyreek
(48:57):
hill moving. Um. Here's my thought that I want to
throw out there. Your feedback is always welcomed. Now I
talking about Jimmy g Way too much, but I mean
it's wild Card weekend and no Super wild Card game
was probably the game of the week so far. What
(49:19):
would it take for the Forts to say, man, we
sort of have to run it back with Jimmy j
Because when they drafted Trey Lance the the you know,
Jimmy Gee's time, the clock was running to expiration. It
was like, like, we're gonna have Jimmy g play this
year out. Everyone's like maybe halfway through the year, if
(49:42):
there's an injury, Trey Lance will get in there. But
back to your relationship and analogy. She can buy all
the Jordans in the world and do all the special
things for you and make all these super awesome promises.
Deep down, you know she's not the one if you
want to take it back to that analogy. And this
(50:03):
is not me being the over zealous I Rolle Niners
fan who just watch their team win, because realistically, you
go to Green Bay, he probably lose to Aaron Rodgers.
But let's say they went on a little run. What
would it take if they went to the championship game
and lost, Let's say Tom Brady or they lost in
(50:23):
the Super Bowl. What level would the Forts have to
go to this year? Don and I Don Brown and
I agree that if he wants to rewrite the story here,
he has to take them to the super Bowl and
not necessarily win because let's say it's not his fault,
say he's it's a drop pass or something like that.
You know, Let's say Josh or like Burrow or just
(50:46):
a better team. Let's say Jimmy g takes your team
to the Promise and they make the super Bowl. And
again this is well, this is talking still we're assuming
two more wins. But but I'm answering your question. He
plays well, right they Let's say they lose, but it's
not on him. He plays well. He played with that
poise you speak of. How in the world did you
(51:08):
get rid of the guy because the Super Bowl and
it wasn't his fault, because you've committed and you gave
up a lot to get Trey Lance at number three.
If if Jimmy Garoppolo pulls off some solid play and so,
I mean, they match up well against Green Bay, which
is why a sixth seed versus the one seed rested
(51:30):
is an undertouchdown points. Ah My Homes just having like
a twenty five yard run into the old moost red zone.
But it's just an interesting thought, right, because you you
feel like your team is ready to move on. That
was a sentiment, right, It's like that we're ready to
move on. You know what It's like. You were watching
(51:51):
a movie, usually a romantic comedy or just a dumb comedy.
You know, it came to mind for me. We're coming
off the holidays. Remember Office Christmas Party. I love that
you thought it stunk. It was terrible movie. Jennifer Anderson
cast is fantastic. I'm a big Olivia Month fan, a
big fan of Bateman, Rob Cordry, Cordrey, t J. Miller
(52:11):
Office Christmas Party. So many times the plot line was
a stinker. So many times the plot line of a
of a movie is, well, this company shutting down unless
we get that one big sale. It's like, we're gonna
have to go to business to lay off these workers.
Remember Tommy Boy, We're gonna have to close down Callahan,
break pads. It's the plot line of so many movies
(52:33):
is always the company is gonna close down. We have
to shut down the store. Made me think of every
Hallmark Moonies goonies. They were gonna have to sell. We're
gonna have to sell the group with the moondogs until
they got one eyed Willie's treasure. We're not selling this now.
Never where he throws a paper in the air, I
just ripped up my notes, Um, but that happened. Every
(52:57):
movie plot line is like, well, off the we're gonna
to shut down the company. The store is gonna close.
Something's gonna happen unless a miracle happens. So you're saying
what they'll say, have to find one eye willis treasure.
This is just Jimmy G has to present them with.
Jimmy G has to slide down the flagpole with sloth,
fight off an octopus and the deleted scenes and get
(53:20):
the large margin looking woman to uh the Mrs for
Telly to turn herself to take him to the super
Bowl and play well. Because the narrative, if you don't know,
this whole season, it's been about is he good enough
to take the forts where they need to be put in,
But the Jimmy G's gone after this year. The narrative
(53:41):
is Jimmy G is a great team player and he
knows that the team will turn to Trey Lance. His
days are one of the most sut out guys. Next
year his days are numbered. Um, he's not their guy.
They traded all the way up to get Trey Lance.
They want Trey Lance. So what would it take? What
(54:02):
would the one eyed Willie's treasure? What would the office
Christmas party software deal? Like? What is the what is
the miracle? What is the we don't have to close
down the restaurant? Like? What is Is there a story
for the conversation? No? Rich? Is there a storyline where
Jimmy G is the starting quarterback of the San Francisco
minds already made up? You know what I mean? Like
(54:22):
I'm saying, And by the way, touchdown Kansas City, Um
point after pending, looks like it will be seven seven?
Patrick mahomes a little shovel pass. He's so slick. We
got a gay. That's a nice little little how do
you do? Is that call? Is what he calls called
That's called the how do you do? That's a lot
(54:43):
of scriptage. He's like, he's like red, how do you do?
It's called the Chiefs? How do you do? Um? Okay?
So point after it's good seven seven, Jimmy G. Think
about it. Guys, think about it. But when when someone's
mind is made up, there is no turning back in
relationships for the most part, What would this is a
business relationship, what would he have to do? And ask
(55:06):
yourself that and I would love your answer. What would
have to happen in San Francisco? Again, Like I said,
I'm not an unrealistic I rolly fan all the time.
They can very well go to Green Bay and get
whooped next week. But I'm just asking you, what if,
what would Jimmy Garoppolo have to do for the forty
Niners to say, wait a minute, do we stick with
(55:27):
this game plan? He's a team leader, the guys in
the locker room respect them, likable guy. What's the miracle?
And we'll get to your feedback and more wild Card
weekend fun. We'll keeping the loop on what's going on
with Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Mark commede Unrich. Next back, We're
Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Steve Cavino, Rich Davis,
(55:51):
Danny g Don, Brown, Steve to Singer, a lot of people. Yeah,
it's party show. It's a super wild weekend. Fox Football
Sunday Funday brought to you by one of our favorite cities,
Las Vegas, the greatest arena on Earth. Planning your trip
today at visit Las Vegas dot com. You know I'm
gonna do that. We have like a cool guy hook
up or what, because I plan on doing that in
(56:11):
the next few weeks for sure. Yeah, let's do it. Yeah,
I'm gonna do it to start living again. Yeah, so
I'm talking about we're gonna get to the point where
everyone's got the VID there over it and like hopefully
we move on with life. That's a big goal. I
saw a meme you know we we we think and
tell jokes and and are inspired by memes as the
world we live in. It said, if you don't have
(56:33):
a friend that doesn't have COVID right now, then you
must not have any friends. Because I have like three
people in my family and like four friends that all
have coronavirus right now. Anyway, stay safe, Health is wealth
is Cavino Enrich at Covino Enrich talking Jimmy G. It's
the big storyline, especially for Rich as is that question
(56:54):
one last time? And then we'll hear from Jimmy G
after the game. But I said, what would Jimmy J
need to do to somehow stay In the forty Niners
quarterback conversation, I said, every time you watch like your comedy,
a romantic comedy, a Hallmark movie with your wife or girlfriend,
there's always the and you even said goonies, there's always
(57:16):
a we have to sell our house. Yeah the store
is gonna close down. We need to save the shop.
But someone always comes up clutch to save their job,
to save the company. If there's no turning back, decisions
already been made in the relationship, how is anything less
than not winning a super Bowl grounds to bring them back.
(57:40):
That's what I'm saying. It's a weird like you guys
never been bar before, Like he hasn't took it. He's
tooking you places that you've been before with Think about it.
Think about it just from regular everyday guy sort of scenarios,
whether it be a relationship or your job. Right, if
they already have your replacement, it's almost like is if
(58:00):
there's nothing you could do at that point except find
one I really treasure except for a miracle in this
case would be played really well in the super Bowl. Well,
and if not win the super Bowl, that's that. Then
you're really forcing in their hand to be like, yeo,
but you know what did that go of this guy? Now?
You know what that would require. It would require beating
Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and then beating most likely
(58:22):
Tom Brady in Tampa, and then beating Mahomes or Josh
Allen or someone. So, yes, if you want to play unrealistics,
I'm a realistic but you know they're not gonna win
the Super Bowl. But I'm wondering, is there a path
where it gets a little tricky, where let's say they
sneak by the Packers big upset next week? Do people
say he's done no matter what? In much like relationships,
(58:44):
he's better off somewhere else at that point, exactly do
you want to be in that relationship where you're begging
and pleading just to stick around and you're you're desperately,
you know, looking for miracles to stay in it, where
someone's gonna appreciate you as the guy. He'll be the
guy somewhere else. So I don't think he's worried about it.
I don't know why you're worried about it. Right now,
he just has to worry about playing well. Now, two
(59:08):
stories from the past come to mind, and they're all different,
so you can't say they're even in the same vein
because you know, but Nick Foles took over for Carson
Wentz when Carson Wentz was having an m v P
level season. Nick Foles wins the Super Bowl. Now Nick
Falls starts that next year because Wentz isn that next year,
(59:32):
Falls started out four and one, Carson Wentz and the
other eleven games was five and six. And the taste
that left with the fan base and the team. What
happened within a year or so, Carson Wentz see you later.
Matt Flynn had a great game for the Packers. It's
like a backup. The Seahawks and other team seemed to
(59:55):
find enough out of that one game where it's like, man,
he's a star that's been hidden. He signed three year,
twenty million dollar deal. But in training camp, Pete Carroll's like,
I don't care how much we paid this guy twenty million,
this young kid, Russell Wilson, I'm going with him. So
sometimes a team will go with their gut, but you're
you're fighting, like for Jimmy g to ever really win
(01:00:16):
that starting job. You're right, he's gonna have to do
the miraculous and unrealistically win a super Bowl because the
team gave up a lot to get Trey Lance. It's
almost like I'm going to the problem with Trey Lanced unless,
like any other life scenario, you're better off where they're
gonna appreciate you and you're probably play bigger because they
(01:00:36):
believe in you and there's less pressure on you to
come up with miracles. So I agree with Don a
super Bowl, a great super Bowl performance keeps him in
San Francisco, that otherwise he's better off moving on anyway,
that that would probably be it. They've made up their mind.
Perhaps by the way, really quick, guys, um brand in
(01:00:57):
mouth sitting over there. Not to alarm the two of you,
but I heard that the Fox Sports radio operations in
Sherman Oaks are going to cease to exist this year,
going out of business Sherman Oaks. How are we going
to save these studio? We're gonna have to do the
best show ever and to be undefeated from this point on,
Like I mean, it's August August. We we move right,
(01:01:21):
I got that letter? Yeah, man, we got to save
the boondocks. Rich Rich won't blend in with the homeless
people on Ventura Boulevard. Any longer, I'm gonna be captured
by the Fortellies. Uh. Confused, The studios are moving, guys, unless,
of course, we save this one somehow, somehow, some way.
(01:01:43):
So well, I have Yeah, I have a bunch of
thoughts from wild Card weekend. Let me throw another one
at you and your feedback. I guess I'll check the
text the tweets at Covin and Rich at Fox Sports Radio.
We saw of the weekend, and you know what, mainstream
media is even covering this, which to me is hilarious
(01:02:06):
in a way because it's like, I'm wondering how they
have to uh ward this. I'm wondering how you're gonna
wear this. It's back Bills fans, the Bills mafia rekindle
the old tradition of throwing sex toys on the field
during the game versus the Patriots. Uh. The article this
(01:02:28):
one's on Yahoo goes on to say, Detroit Red Wing fans,
you know that the octopus on the ice. Every fan
base has their tradition, the tradition the Buffalo Bills love
to throw buffalo Can I say the Buffalo bill Bills
that that? How about this? The I think you can.
(01:02:49):
I mean, that's our buddies, nam, but we have a
guy who's chiming in. He calls himself there. You might
have forgotten about this weird tradition, but it's back. And
you saw a lot of screenshots on social media. Let's
just say sex toys laying on the field and what
I find funny. And I'm sure you guys, ladies, everyone
(01:03:12):
will agree with me on this one. You can't get
crazy fans to stop something, and by telling them to
stop is almost like encouraging them to do it. More
I was. I pulled up an article that I was
showing coming. I said, it's like in baseball, as much
(01:03:32):
as it might be considered wrong. They had the headline
from CNN months ago, the dehumanizing and racist tomahawk chop
from Braves fans needs to stop. I'm I'm I don't
even think. I don't need to give you my take
on it. I'm not a Braves fan. You do what
you do. But if you think you're gonna get fifty
people who are who are boozing and who are drinking
(01:03:56):
with their buddies hanging out, the act in a fool.
By the way, the Chiefs are up fourteen seven. Now,
well back to reality. There goes graphy. So they just
scored guys. So if you think you could get fans
to stop doing something, as the murderer in that Liam
(01:04:18):
Neeson movie said, good luck, taken, taken, You've got you've
got the name of it. Good luck, good luck. It's
good if you think that. If you think the braves,
if you think brave stands are gonna stop the tomahawk chop,
if you think Buffalo bills, bills, mafia people are going
to stop throwing sex toys on the field, good luck
Liam Neeson style. You're not gonna say, hey, hey, tens
(01:04:39):
of thousands of drunk idiots, I mean less, what are
the rules that I'm telling you get out of here?
Even things that aren't necessarily deemed controversial are sort of
hard to stop. Like how many times have you reluctantly
participated in a wave and you look around you're like,
I thought, we all agreed this is corny, but people
still want to do it, you know what I mean? Like,
(01:05:00):
you just get alcohol involved, and people want to do
these things, and since it's such a tradition, it's so
hard to stop. Well, Buffalo likely will not host another
home playoff game. But you saw the return of the
sex toys being thrown on the field, and I just
think the Patriots pointing at it in the end zone.
(01:05:20):
You know what it's like. It's like telling someone. It's
like the old George Costanza when he nicknames himself. If
you tell someone you don't like a nickname, that becomes
your nickname. Like if your buddy is like, uh, don't
give me you've got a big head, your buddy start
calling your bunk. If you're like, yeo, guys, I really
don't like when you call me bunk, you are bunked
(01:05:40):
forever because you have just you're you're almost encouraging people.
So I think the best thing if they don't want
to much validated it by by putting up a stink.
If you say don't do it, stop. I hate it
if people that make rules tell you to do something,
people just by an instinct will not follow the rules.
So I know the Bills don't have a home playoff
(01:06:01):
game or a home game for a good you know,
half a year now. But if they really don't want
that to get out of control, all they need to
do is say no, more sex toys on the field,
and every fan's gonna be like on Adam and Eve
dot com tonite ordering like anything that they throw on
the field perfectly away, so a perfectly fine sex toy.
To be honest to your cheap guy. Well, they used
(01:06:24):
I'll see the sea. What's going on, my man? We
have a Kansas City lead of fourteen to seven under
two minutes to go. You know, the Steeler season is
going to be shut down unless a miracle happens. I
don't need to put you on the spot. But what's
Big Ben's stat line to see? I mean, I saw
it's correct. There's always the Steeler drop passes. You can
count on those as well, so it's not all on him.
(01:06:45):
But it's twenty four yards passing in the first half.
In fact, this is the stat is the Steeler's offense
twenty five plays forty five yards. Before that play, it
was five for thirteen for twenty four yards. But you
know what, you're right though, I've never seen a team
watching the last few weeks. I mean, I don't know
if they have the most drop passes in the league,
(01:07:06):
but over the last couple of weeks, the Steelers receivers
do him no favors. Correct, And it's not just this
year either, but Kansas City with over two hundred twenty
yards of offense compared to the forty five yards that
Pittsburgh has generated. And yet a minute ago the game
was tied at seven because T. J. Watt had a
touchdown on defense for Pittsburgh twenty six yard fumble return,
(01:07:27):
his first career touchdown. J. J. Watt also scored his
first career touchdown in a postseason game a decade ago.
According to the Allied Sports Bureau, that's the Steeler's offense
so far. We have just over a minute left in
the first half, fourteen seven. What a victory, by the way,
like morally going ato halftime, Tomlin being like, yo, you
guys have been out gained two d two yards to
forty yards and we're a touchdown down. That's right. You've
(01:07:50):
got something to say, You've got a speech actually written
because otherwise, wow, and they've had some bad offensive games.
This is just just gets added to the list. Is
not unique to the season. Two touchdown drives for Casey
in the last five minutes or so, one of them
was eight place seventy six yards. Patrick Mahomes short touchdown
pass on the shovel, and the other was seven place
seventy four yards momes at twelve yard touchdown pass. And
(01:08:12):
again the Chiefs did defeat Pittsburgh handily just three weeks ago.
A Kansas City win tonight and they would host Buffalo
next weekend. We've already got two finals in with the
Tampa Bay and San Francisco wins today. There is another
game on Monday night, Arizona at the Rams, and the
winner goes to Tampa next weekend. The Bucks eliminated Philadelphia
thirty one fifteen Eagles with three turnovers. Bucks l at
(01:08:35):
thirty one nothing in the third quarter. Tom Brady two
touchdown passes, both in the third. He was sacked four
times two d seventy one yards passing. San Francisco eliminated
Dallas twenty three to seventeen, and Cowboy fans pelted their
team with trash on their way off the field. Dallas
fourteen penalties in the game. The Cowboys two running backs
(01:08:56):
combined sixteen carries forty five yards on the ground. Season over,
they went five and four at home this year. San
Francisco led twenty three seven early fourth quarter seventeen The Final.
San Francisco will play at top seeded Green Bay next weekend.
In the NBA Phoenix and Houston with road wins, Golden
State is leading on the road mid third quarter sixty
(01:09:17):
eight sixty seven at Minnesota. Steph Curry out with a
sore hand tonight and Draymond Green out at least two
more weeks with a bad back. Did you see that
clip of Steph Carry helping that woman win like ten
grand No, there was a like, you know, like one
of those like TV time out where they do like
people shot y. Yeah, they were rolled, remember, you know,
like ski ball, like you roll, you roll the ball,
and how doubled it up? Though I think so it
(01:09:43):
wasn't shooting a basketball. No, it was like playing like
ski ball almost, but he grabbed he ran on the court,
grabbed it and dropped it in the bucket. That was
like double. And then then he ran off the court
real quick, and they're like, all right, I guess it's legit.
So Steph Carry helped like a fan, even rolling ball
on the ground. He's still the best shooter. Kevin Durant
and the Nancy is out indefinitely with a sprained m
(01:10:04):
c l back to you, Kevin Durant, I think what
four to six weeks? Yeah, all right, thank you, Steve.
It's it's Steve Covino and Rich Davis Rich on Fox
Sports Radio seven ninety nine, on Fox, Fox Sports Radio
dot Com, the I Heart Radio app, and other stomping
grounds s x M eighty three. Wherever you're listening. We
(01:10:27):
appreciate you. Guys. Hit us up at Covino and Rich
and remember throughout the week we're on Patreon, Patreon dot
com slash Covino and Rich if you like what we
do and we talk. We talk all sorts of relationships
in life and nonsense everything. Right. Um, I know you're
not a rambling man or a gamblerman, but let's go
around the room real quick tomorrow night. I'm just curious
(01:10:48):
with the with the vibe is for everyone, Cardinals, Rams,
no point spread, just pick a winner. Don We'll start
with you. What's your instinct. I'm thinking Rams too, Danny
j oh A tough one. I'm gonna say Cardinals get
the upset. Did Steve the Sagger without Hopkins? Not the Cardinals.
(01:11:08):
It really doesn't matter the opponent. The Rams have not
been impressive in the second half. Of the season. But
I'll go Rams. I'm with the Sager and Don I'm
going Rams on this one. Rich. So much like every
sports network panel show when everyone picks one. The next
day the meme is all the wrong picks. So the
Cardinals the Cardinals, who will win tomorrow? But yeah, No,
to me, it seems like Rams Tampa seems like a
(01:11:30):
really fun divisional round matchup, right, Stafford Brady, that's a
that's gonna be a fun game. And with that run
game up in up in Lambeau, I think the NFC
games next week are gonna be as the kids say, fire.
You think Stafford cleans it up tomorrow? How many picks?
I think I'll be a little sloppy, but I think
they'll win. I think it'll be a close game. That's
why the four and a half or four I don't love,
(01:11:52):
because I think it could be like one of those
divisional field goal games, and but the Rams just hold
them off. I don't know. And yeah, my homes getting sacked.
The Rich, I have a question for you because you
had little rugrats at home. I have a have a
twelve year old daughter and she was, you know, making
TikTok videos all day, so she's not sitting there watching
what dad watches when you have your little kids there,
(01:12:13):
and do you put on the Nickelodeon feed or not? No,
But I heard people say, I heard people said it
was entertaining. Oh yeah, you heard other people hating it.
But other people say, don't's entertained. Well, again, if you
go to social media right now, you're you're seeing cowboys
fans throwing food, throwing trash at the cowboys. You're seeing
sad cowboys fans. Right, that's SpongeBob between the upright and
you're seeing SpongeBob. Right, You're seeing a lot of Nickelodeon coverage.
(01:12:36):
Is this something that's just really overhyped? There a great
way to get everybody sort of involved in the kids
like sort of have fun with it and they stopped
running around for a minute. Kids seem to love it.
You know what, any I will never argue a way
to get younger people interested or caring about with not
only sports, science, any anything history like documentaries and sports.
(01:12:58):
And there's always ways to make put it on with
your kids. There just the sort of like your daughter's four,
she's writing that wheelhouse off. It was checking out if
it was a game that was not my team, then yes,
but it was my team. And I'm like, you think
I'm giving you think I'm giving up Tony Romo and
jim Nance calling the game for no time for a
couple of young kids calling on Nickelodeon with slime coming
(01:13:19):
out of the ball. You're seeing it everywhere. It was.
It's good, it's fun. Yeah, so you saw a SpongeBob
a lot um if you're watching the game and if
you're just scrolling through social media. Speaking of social media again,
I'm at Steve Cavino, at Rich Davis at Covino and
(01:13:40):
Rich who throws offside picks? Buddy has poised Jimmy. Uh.
We got a few questions to ask you guys. One
about Joe Burrow's glasses, can't wait, fuzzy socks. This time
of year is getting cold? And Rich is he gonna
have a house divide it next week? Plus we'll keep
(01:14:01):
you posted on this game. Yeah, it's not over, but hey,
it's I mean, well, did they just score? Look at
that twenty to seven? Just like that a game that
looked so like in what the first quarter was like, Wow,
students are hanging in and what did I tell you
it wasn't Week two. They played each other a couple
of weeks ago and it was so lopsided that this
(01:14:22):
had to happen the seconds left in there. Oh yeah,
a big battle. Throw your mind, Um, point after is good.
Twenty one seven we got more coven On Rich. Somebody
through a toilet paper roll? So I know what is this?
The eighties? I love it? Mark covene On Rich. Next
(01:14:43):
the song is always appropriate, little naughty by Nature. Hey,
reading a lot of our great feedback today, Coveno, I
want to read something here. Please hit us up at
Covino and Enriches. Fox Sports Radio. G OFFA the O C. Yeah,
maybe it's Jeff. I'll call him Geff. Anyone who spells
at g e O f F g Off. It's something
(01:15:06):
like you're a Steve with a V stevens or phs
you frown upon most. My wife is Sarah. She always
she agrees with Jimmy fallon. Sarah's with an H. So
what's off in the sea said? YEA great show, guys,
he said, Um, you were talking earlier about what's more
nerve racking as a fan watching your team let a
lead slip away or that momentum of they're trying to
(01:15:30):
play catch up. He said, it's a different type of
nerve racking. When you're up. It's almost like watching baseball
and your bullpens blowing it and they like, that's that feeling,
you know what I'm saying, Like like when your team
is letting up the lead, it is like we were
winning and now they got bases loaded, they have the
tying run on. Like, it's a different type of stress
(01:15:51):
if you're the if you're rooting for the team that
has bases loaded, do you rather your team be coming
from behind or trying to keep the lead? Uh? Very stressful.
Let's see, let's see, asked Danny G to explain what
this is on the field, and I don't think he
can on Fox. Uh the Bills and the Bills game. Uh,
let's see electronics. I listened to you guys every week.
(01:16:16):
Now you guys are great. Thank you, Dave Carney. This
is a great when Tim and Arizona uber, Tim said
Rich debating Jimmy G's future, and it's a meme of
Uncle Hank on Breaking Bad. You're the smartest guy I
ever met, and you're too stupid to see he made
up his mind ten minutes ago. Remember when they kill
Uncle Hank oh spoiler, Yeah, they made up their mind.
(01:16:37):
But Jimmy G, what is he gonna do? And then
Kevin in Seattle said, save the clock tower, I mean
the Sherman Student, the Sherman Oaks Studio. So a lot
of great feedback from you guys, we appreciate it at
COVID No and Rich. Now speaking of your boy Jimmy GA,
he's kind unless, of course, a miracle. A miracle unless
(01:16:59):
they find one eyed will he treasure already discussed. If
you missed any of it again, catch the podcast later
on Fox Sports Radio dot com. However, Jimmy G did
step up to the mic and he said some things
after the game's take a listen. He had another gear
and he always does. But just it shocks shocks me
(01:17:19):
when I see the shocks defenses when they see it
for the first time. But he just he he played
his play off today. He really did. That was I mean,
it was just emotional game, the highs and lows of it.
Everything just um never felt like he was getting away
from its always felt like we were in control of
the game. But just uh, I mean made for some
good TV. I guess Jimmy I was, I'm pacing and
(01:17:40):
Jimmy Gee's all cool, smiling on the sidelines. I honestly
feel you care more than he did, like you're worried
more about and again fans are invested about what can
we do to keep him here next year? What does
he have to do? And for all we know, he's like, man,
I'm I'm ready to move on. I'm ready to move on.
I want to be with someone that's gonna appreciate when
I bring to the table, not I feel like I'm
(01:18:01):
walking on playing on eggshells every week. Well, if anything,
you could argue that Jimmy g you know, playing well
enough in the playoffs has proven that he deserves a
starting job somewhere or a shot somewhere else, if not
with the forty niners. Uh. And you gotta quote Danny
g Gott a quot from McCarthy after the game. Yeah,
our friend John Middelkoff tweeted this out from the tone
(01:18:23):
Setters Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy on the decision to
run a QB draw on the final play of the game.
You know, we felt good about that. We talked to
our analytics guy. Uh, that's the play they recommended, so
we went with it. Process over results. That's what we
always say. You know what, Danny J. You know what
I was. I was thinking about it wrong the whole
(01:18:44):
time because I was looking at I'm um, I'll admit it,
I'm I was. I zoned out as a fan for
a second. You're watching that Nickelodeon feed. Yeah. When he
got up to a lot of scriptae and they and
they dumped the bucket of slimes on, Dak said, I
was like, what, No, I realized that when the clock
was going down three two, I was thinking that the
(01:19:07):
ball needed in my mind because I was thinking, like
a play clock, like ball needs to be snapped. No,
there's another second where Dak grabbed the ball and spiked
it and the clock ran out. Because in the in
the end, I was like, maybe they did get off
because they got the snap off, but the spike was
where the time had already expired, so there was no discrepancy.
Then said final and game. When it says final, they
(01:19:29):
don't put up that graphic. When they put up that graphic,
I'm like, they're not taking that graphic down. A sigh
of relief and I know the clock is your enemy,
but I would have almost rather Olsen College draw play
or a screen to Josh Jacobs on that fourth down
rather than car throwing in front of the end zone.
(01:19:49):
I know it's risky, but speculated for sure. Yeah, well
I think would happen. Got speculated on. By the way,
how do you feel about the officials not being yanked
from the rest of the playoffs? Do you feel like
that whistle play? Was it was crucial? Do you feel
like it was Can you really look at that It
was crucial for one reason because the Raiders their defense
(01:20:10):
held up on back to back possessions where they held
them to field goals, So they could have held them
to another field goal there, It's definitely possible. But that
that crew not getting another chance. We have more coven
on Rich Next, all right, that's us and Rich Steve
Cavino from Union, New Jersey. Out here on the west side.
(01:20:34):
Rich Davis Franklin Square, Long Island, puts a square in
Franklin Square, home of A and S Bagel. There. He
is live from California. Here we are with Danny g
Don Brown, Steve the Sager's the show, Fox Sports Radio,
Fox Football Sunday Funday. Hope you enjoyed your day. I
hope you had a Jimmy Garoppolo Samuel type of afternoon.
(01:20:59):
Um well, I I said, Jimmy G. Because well I
knew you were about to and I know you have
some crazy quarterback stance you wanted and it has nothing
to do with Jimmy G. So trust me, I talked
about things other than Jimmy J. But you can't expect
me not to be excited about my team. Um and
right now it seems like, you know, the Chiefs are
having their way with the Steelers, as I said as
the game started, at least twenty points. And it looks like,
(01:21:21):
oh wait, that's a replay. Don't do the old guy thing?
Who did that this year? Was it? John Sterling? John
Sterling for a Yankee is high? That's far? John? Is
a replay? No? No, Oh, I'm sorry, Susan't I guess
I was watching It's far John? Carlo? Who so am
(01:21:43):
st who so parlow? John? That was a replay? Oh,
I'm sorry? And the Yankees are still behind or three
the pitch. But first Yankee broadcaster John ster that I
was watching the replay called it my grandfather would do
that crap another home. We're on Richie on my Grandpa's
(01:22:06):
you know, you know it happens, man, it happens. Um
A lot of times I'll see things happening and I
won't address it because I'm not sure. I'm like, wait
before because we're looking up and down whist. But just
for the record, it's first thing goal from the five,
and I might be able to say now soon enough,
(01:22:27):
I'll be able to say twenty points or more. That's
what I said at the beginning of the game. I said,
Chiefs win. It's a twelve and a half points for it.
You could have made it twenty two and a half. Um.
I have a theory on quarterbacks in the National Football League.
Theory guys, you hear this? Where's your bell? Rich has
a theory? A theory theory there is. We all know
(01:22:49):
that Tom Brady is an anomaly. I mean, no one
goes to ten Super Bowls, no one wins seven. It's
almost silly. And then did you see the to like
stories that made you of Mimi even more? He uh
gave Super Bowl tickets to a cancer kid today? Did
you see that one? And then he gave his hat
today his his victory hat to some fans. Did you
see that? He's just his way out. I mean he's
(01:23:12):
just ah, he's so lovable, you hate him. He does
everything right. Hyree kill should be in the summer games,
he said, flips he's doing. He could do a good
routine touchdown Kansas City seven, uh point after pending um.
But here's the thought. Tom Brady is an anomaly not
only in the NFL, in sports ten Super Bowls seven
(01:23:36):
and three. The dude, you have you seen that mean
floating around where it's like Tom Brady has one more
playoff games and every like franchise seven super Bowl wins,
and he can very well go back this year, right,
I mean he's in the mix. So take Tom Brady
out of every quarterback conversation because it's just not fair.
(01:24:00):
You could, you could then you could talk about what
defines greatness from the quarterback position. I heard Nick Right
on f S one, Who's Great? I love Nick Right?
He was talking about his Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks and
he's like, yeah, you put Brady up there. You put Montana,
Peyton Manning. And if Aaron Rodgers wins the Super Bowl
this year, that could put him what about Al Bundy?
(01:24:23):
You Bundy in there four touchdowns one game, pull kai
it's fair or it's a fair argument. I thought, no, No,
Al Bundy really yeah, I know, disappointing Nick wrong, he said,
Montana Brady obviously Brady, Montana, Peyton Manning. And if Aaron
Rodgers wins a second one, that would be enough for
you to say, all right, well he won too. When
(01:24:44):
you really think about what a franchise expects out of
a quarterback, one Super Bowl could create a lasting impression
with the fans where you're a hero forever and all
you need is one you love to point out. As
a baseball fan, Mets fans are still sweating Keith Hernandez
(01:25:08):
and Darryl Strawberry and Dot Gooden. Keith just got his
number retired recently. It's gonna happen this year this this summer.
Number seventeen retired. But that's but they live in EIGHTI six.
You go to City Field, it's like going back to
the eighties because that's all that they're showing highlights from
eight six. If you're still seeing Danyl Strawberry doing good
and Jesse Roscoe, Keith Hernandez, people are doing the Toughel Shuffle.
(01:25:31):
It's all Mets fans have. So when you think about it, yeah,
the Packers are O. G super Bowl one, bart Star
get super Bowl two. But then even fast forward, you're like,
all right, they got one with Farve, they got one
with Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, one for the New Orleans Saints,
(01:25:55):
Russell Wilson, one for the Seattle Seahawks, Mahomes up until
this point, one for Kansas City. So when I say
take Brady Brady out of it, a nomally seven, it
just doesn't even register. It's like all those guys who
have to win six more to even It's silly, right,
So I ask you when you look at who's in
(01:26:15):
the league right now, there's young guys that you know,
we haven't made our mind up on you, like the
Kyler Murray's and the Baker Mayfields and the Derek Cars
and is Deshaun Watson gonna play again? Mac Jones, Lamar Jackson.
Then there's young guys that you don't even know the
story about yet, like Fields or Trey Lance when he
gets an opportunity to Jalen Hurts, yeah, yeah, too early.
(01:26:38):
And then there's other guys like Big Ben he wants to,
and then there's a whole other tier of quarterbacks that
you know they're going to have their place. That's that's
what my question is. My question for you and everyone
listen is right now, Herbert missed the playoffs and that
was a big thing because that I I thought this
year is gonna be a big step forward. Right, but
(01:26:59):
you know, you to argue the Chiefs. I'm sorry the
Chargers played their way out of the playoffs. Right. If
I were to ask you right now, and we'll go
around the room, we'll go to the phones, We'll go
to feedback, Twitter, Instagram at covene en Rich Brady anomaly
forty four years. I'll take him out of the equation.
Guys like Mahomes and Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, take them
(01:27:19):
out of the equation because been there, done that, they
only have one. Take them out of the equation. When
all is said and done, fast forward ten years and
you've got even more gray in your hair. Nah a diet,
Just trust me, Don Brown, I do a little touch
(01:27:39):
up myself. I'm do you think I want to look
at the old guy? I don't. I don't want to
be the forty year old guy that looks older just
for men? Is the question is this, Josh Allen, we're
Joe Burrow. Who would you rather be your quarterback? Right now?
Which of the teams? Because I feel like if you're
(01:28:02):
a fan of either one of those teams, do you
have to feel so good about your young quarterback? Joe Burrow,
he's got Jamar Chase. But then look at the way
Josh Allen just commanded that what seven drive seventh? I mean,
don we'll start with you Burrow or Josh Allen? Or
do you think both of those guys will win one eventually?
(01:28:23):
Because it's so hard to win one. Look at the
guys that have won one, Brett Farth, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees,
Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes. There's no guarantees winning one is
enough for a franchise, sometimes very much. So, Um, if
I I had to go Josh Allen, Um, I really,
I really do like Burrow. But I like Josh Allen
(01:28:44):
because he kind of reminds me of He kind of
reminds me of an old big Bin. You know why.
He's big Band was an escape artist. You know, he
wasn't very mobile, but because of his size. He was
very hard to bring down in Josh Allen, like, he's huge.
Do you know what I'm saying. He's a big boy,
he's huge, he can run, he's he's pretty mobile. Um
(01:29:05):
like you said, the way he just commanded the game
last night, Um yeah, I think I would have to
go with him. I'm gonna go Burrow for that exact reason.
You think he's got the same tools, the same I
think Burrow has a confidence for young guy. Yes, Burrows,
his swagger, his confidence, the b d E he brings
down to the field, the fact that he's already been injured,
(01:29:26):
the sula back, the sunglasses, the post game no, no no, no,
but the fact that he's gonna play a little more
cautious where I feel like Josh Allen, you know, he's
just too reckless sometimes for his own good, like too
too much for his own good. Where yeah, it's impressive
and yeah, that's the kind of guy you want on
your team, but it's also scary, right, Like you brought
up Tom Brady and he's out of this conversation. But
(01:29:48):
one of the great things about him is he stayed
healthy all that time. And it's not easy, especially and
especially guys, and Barrow got an early lesson like how
he came back this year something Most athletic quarterbacks are
your most vulnerable quarterbacks because they take these chances. Russell
Wilsons and some of that. But this just scares me
(01:30:08):
about Alan. Let let me ask you, Danny j about
to tell you pick one of those two guys who
is most likely to actually take home a Super Bowl?
Is it Josh Allen giving the Buffalo Bills their first
Super Bowl? I'm not saying this year. I'm saying in
the next handful of years, are we more likely to
see finally Buffalo wins one or we hey, finally Cincinnati
(01:30:31):
wins one. Which franchise has their guy in a position
where you're like, yo, this this will happen at some point,
you know. I was early on the Bills are signing
sheet on the counter here where we all make our
preseason predictions. I actually picked the Bills to win the
Super Bowl last season because I love the way Josh
Allen progressed. We heard that b word early in his career.
(01:30:54):
A couple of famous commentators were starting to call him
a bust. He's too inaccurate. That's something you can't learn
how we heard that more than once and what did
he do? He spent the offseason becoming more accurate, working
on his craft, and that is you got to compliment
the guy because he worked so hard to get where
(01:31:14):
he's at right now. You gotta love his his work
ethic and he's fun to watch. By the way, Steelers
just fumbled, so Che's recover now a prisoner of the moment.
How about that throw from Joe Burrow yesterday where he
zipped it across the middle thirty yards to Jamaar Chase.
Those guys are locked in, I know who it's hard
to deny them, and you gotta figure they're gonna be
(01:31:36):
around together. That Toco is on the call for that game,
right They made the point that, like I mean, we've
talked about it, but chemist on this show, I've talked
about we downplay the fact that they want a national
championship together at l s U. They're like two years
removed from being champions smoking cigars on a college level.
Now they're the one to punch in the National Football League.
(01:31:58):
Like that's chemistry, that's confidence together and you know they
are lights out right now, Like I know it's it's
impossible to ever say so early on, like like the
Montana Rice combos or the you know, you think of
some of the great that Peyton Manning, who would be
who would be as big as talking Marvin Harrison probably right,
(01:32:19):
Rich Canon, Tim Brad Tim. Yeah, Like there's combos that
you look and you say, yeah, they're gonna be a
Jamaar Chas and Joe Burrow could end up top top
five touchdown chiefs. Yeah, Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, I'm talking combos,
he's got Now he's got the pomo as I say,
(01:32:41):
Tyreek Hill, he's dancing with pom pomps. Hey, by the way,
remember this game of seven up in Pittsburgh. Remember when
I was saying at Pittsburgh's all fired up? Yeah he did?
They like a little fired down? Now, yeah, that deserves
one more kauh I left, thank done, gonna be seven? Well, hey,
(01:33:04):
that that gives you your a f C matchups next week. Well,
you didn't answer your own question. Sometimes I pose a
question because, you know, because I don't know the answer.
But again, you know what I think, Uh, I just
think that all is as much as you love watching
them play, he's like, like you said, so like watching
Lamar Jackson like he's getting hit too much? How how
(01:33:26):
long could he withstand? You know what, you got to
ask yourself. And I know that the key to sports
radio television has given your your hottest take no matter
what and getting people to respond. But my thought is simple,
It really is ask yourself this because I think they're
both possible Super Bowl champions one day. Joe Burrow Josh
Allen part of the key to Tom Brady's success, part
(01:33:51):
of the key to Joe Montana and his success with
Bill Walsh. Sometimes when you're in a division where other
people stink for a while, you just are given more chances.
They're forty niners made the playoffs the year after year
after year after year. The Patriots won that division. It
(01:34:12):
was like the Atlanta Braves. They only won one World
Series in the nineties, but they won the division every year.
When you're in a division that stinks, you could even
have an off year, but you still sneak in. You like,
Patriots are eleven and five this year, but they won
the division because they're in the division with the Jets
of the Dolphins. That was the Texans for a while,
the Texans for a while. Every yeah, they just they
made it because it was like, all right, we got
(01:34:34):
to Shaun Watson and j. J. Watt and uh everyone
else thinks and ironically enough, we will always go down
to Cincinnati. Yeah, so you gotta ask yourself, who's gonna
be worse? Think of that for one second. Do you
think Josh Allen and the Bills have because Mac joneson
Belichick seemed like they compete the Dolphins. They just fired
(01:34:55):
their coach, which everyone loved. Are they going to get better?
Are the Jets gonna get better? It's Josh Allen. Gonn
have competition in the a f C East or are
you gonna say, well, is Joe Burrow every year he's
gotta to worry about Cleveland, he's gotta worry about Lamar
Jackson and Baltimore. Pittsburgh is probably gonna have a little
down period now. So that's the question you gotta ask yourself.
We'll take your feedback next and more Capino, Rich fun
(01:35:16):
It's a Sunday now, let's go alright, It's Fox Sports Radio,
Fox Football Sunday Funday, Super wild Card Weekend. Cavino and
Rich Steve Cavino and Rich Davis. Happy to be here, guys,
What up buddy with Danny g Don Brown and Steve
just Singer and you at home. We appreciate it. If
you're listening in the future, what's up future dude? Listening
(01:35:37):
to the podcast and send it some friends, Fox Sports
Radio dot Com, of course, the I Heart Radio app
and s x M eighty three, where you might hear
us every now and again on sex M. We appreciate you, guys. Now,
it's getting late early, rich as I believe the great,
the late great Yogi barrisaid, yeah, I think I was
(01:36:00):
pretty sure that wasn't your quote. It's getting later earlier,
and I know you want to talk about, you know,
all the outcomes. It's it's safe to say the chief's
got this one. I don't know, dude, big Ben just scored. Yeah, well, yeah,
I meant thirteen Steelers are knocking at the door. Someone's
(01:36:21):
probably mad now, the crue, the old something mad about
something now. But thirty extra point. Oh, you know what,
there's nice past. I'm glad big Ben got another touchdown
passt five. There you go, four minutes left in the
third in the third down. By now, next week your
(01:36:47):
matchups are sort of set. You know, we're still waiting
on the Rams Cardinals tomorrow, but I just wondering that
game plays Tampa. Yeah, I just saw that the point
spread has already gone down Vegas. Initially betting on the
forty Honors, it's now if you wanted to bet at now,
Packers by four and a half, Packers minus four and
a half. But your initial instincts on what we look
(01:37:09):
forward to Divisional Week. Divisional Week many consider the best
week of NFL action every year because because divisional divisional football,
you've you've weeded out perhaps some of those wild cards
that's snuck in just because you know there was a
seven seed or usually like that, if there's that one
team that won their division at one game over five
(01:37:30):
just because that teams out clear matchup I see, unfortunately
for you, is green Bay over You think the Niners
luck runs out. Of course, anything is possible. They're a
tough team, but when you're looking at these games on paper,
it's the only one that stands out, like, yeah, clearly
green Bay is the better team here. Every other matchup
(01:37:54):
scenes just pretty tight to me. I mean, yeah, I'm
probably looking through Niner fan glasses when I say this,
but I think the Packers win, but I don't know.
I wouldn't be so confident in that one. Bengals at Titans,
Buffalo at Green Bay. I always wondering how these I
always trying to pick the point spreads before they come
out and then see where my instinct was, because then
(01:38:18):
I can make my bet accordingly. Like to me, if
the Bengals are getting any significant points, I'm taking the
Bengals on the road, disrespecting Tennessee as I always do.
Our buddy Drew in Tennessee hit us up all the
time saying Richard disrespected the Titans every week. But I
can't see unless King Henry controls the tempo, time of possession,
(01:38:43):
if they're moving the ball and tattle Hills poised, I
just can't see someone's slowing down with the Bengals got
going on right now. I think the toughest game to
even attempt to call Buffalo at Kansas City because Kansas City,
while they're whooping Pittsburgh, they've looked a little more vulnerable
(01:39:04):
than they haven't past years, and Buffalo seems like they've
improved a little bit since past years. So I think
Buffalo Kansas City might be a Banana's game that is
gonna be insane. Bengals Tennessee. Who do you think is
the better team? Though? I think Buffalo is the better
team this year? Right now, right now, you still think
(01:39:25):
you're the better team. Okay, but it's still I think
it's so close. And I'll go out on a limb
and say, I don't care who wins tomorrow night. Tom
Brady's winning more more than they get getting an keep getting,
They keep getting healthier in Tampa, and Tom Brady finds
a way to make new weapons out of people. I
(01:39:47):
think Tampa. I think Tampa win. Whoever wins the NFC
West Little Battle tomorrow, Rams or Cars, I'm gonna say
the Rams. So I'm gonna say Rams go to Tampa.
Tom Brady takes care. Matthew Stafford, I'm gonna say, and
I hate to say it, I think my Niners put
up a battle, but I think Aaron Rodgers they're just
too good. I think you're looking at past to what
(01:40:09):
you said. Look as a forty Niners fan, Yeah, sure,
you'd love to see your team win. What doesn't it
sort of sting too to know that one of the
better teams are out at that point? Green Bay deserves
to be there. They're a solid team Packers. If the
Niners sneaked by, yo, I'll be the most thrilled guy.
(01:40:30):
But realistically, if you asked me, if you said put
your money where your mouth is, my heart's with the Niners.
I think I think you're looking at the Packers Bucks
rematch some super tight matchups for anybody. That's what's funny
about sports talk radio and sports talk in general. For
anybody to claim like this is so clear and so obvious,
it's it's fools talk. It's just it's just foolstock. Remember
(01:40:51):
we're fans. We're not here on Fox Sports Radio claiming
to be experts on anything. If anyone claims to know,
for fat, then the best guys want to have a
fifty something percent winning percentage gambling. It's b s because
these games are so tight to me, tighter than riches,
sweatpants after the holidays, anything any other It's great sweatpants season.
It's on purpose, it is. It is great sweatpants season.
(01:41:14):
I'm a little offended here in the studio. Um, but hey, guys,
any any sort of opinions on the babble you just
heard for the past ten minutes is there something sticking
out to you when you when you look forward at
the next match. You don't want to be predictable. You
don't want the league to be predictable, because that we
we said it earlier in the show. For eighteen weeks
plus the playoffs, we we banter about like this storyline
(01:41:37):
and what ifs and what ifs. But it can very
well just be a rematch of Aaron Rodgers Tom Brady
in the NFC Championship game, which is the likely outcome. Hey,
I want to be surprised if by Niners upsets someone.
And by the way, and for all we know the
Rams win tomorrow and Matthew Stafford plays the game of
his life and and Tom Brady's done, and it's and
it's Rams Niners. So are we know that? That's not clear? Cup?
(01:42:00):
But you know what Packers Tampa seems like that would
be the That's what Vegas would say, right, And then
on the other side of things, you're probably gonna say
Kansas City, Tennessee, which has happened before, so the same
teams find their way there. But man, what do you
like to see the two underdogs go at it in
the a f C Championship. The two guys I mentioned
(01:42:21):
moments ago, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen. Sorry, Patrick Mahomes, you're
not fitting into my narrative. I mean, you're probably the
best guy out there. But what a game that would be, right?
I mean, if they're going six their own six combined
in super Bowls. We were talking about that off the
year Bengals and serves it more. I think the Mills
(01:42:42):
do just for all the heartbreak they had in the nineties,
give it to Cincinnati fans, like I know, but they
had not they if it takes I mean Ohio other
than Lebron wenting for Cleveland, but that's not even Cincinnati,
like the Reds marred shot like back in the day,
Like what are the what are Cincinnati fans have? We
were talking about which which team teams fans are you
rooting for the most? If he came down to the Bills,
(01:43:03):
what do you think? I mean right off the bat,
I think about the Bills fans because when we were
little kids saw them go to Super Bowl after Super Bowl.
I remember my friends saying, I don't even want to
watch the Super Bowl this year. I'm sick of seeing
the Bill heartbreaking heartbreaking their fans. Yeah, that's gotta be
gut wrenching. Um, but that statue read earlier in the show, amazing.
(01:43:28):
They scored a touchdown on every drive. Oh, the perfect
offensive game? Yeah yeah really, I'll read it again. What
it really is ridiculous. The Buffalo Bills just had the
NFL's first ever perfect offensive game. No punts, no picks,
no fumbles lost, no field goals, all touchdowns on every
single drive until the Neil downs. And he did it
(01:43:50):
against the top five defense. That was courtesy of our boy,
John Boy. That's insane. Yeah, that that is insane. I'm
probably gonna go with I'm probably gonna go with the Bills. Um.
I'll say, like being born in ninety one, I didn't
even realize about, you know, losing four straight until later
(01:44:11):
on perspective, it's like what and so. But me growing up,
it's like, all right, yeah, Cincinnati didn't win anything, but
they had Carson Palmer, Carson Palmer, they had Ojosinko, t J.
Who's your mama? Like it was still it was still
exciting to watch Cincinnati, you know. Now, just for the
gambling fools out there like me, I'm pretty sure I'm
(01:44:33):
gonna look at the stat I found it perfect. Man.
Thank you Google. You're pretty You're pretty quick. When you
look back at those four Super Bowls that the Bills lost,
they were underdogs, and three of them they were They
were seven point underdogs to Washington. Washington one the back
(01:44:53):
to back Dallas romp Swear, Troy Aikman and Emmett Smith
and Michael Irvin just whooped him. They were six and
a half point underdogs in the first one, ten and
a half in the second, but they were touchdown favorite
over the Giants who won. That was the year the
missfield goal by Scott Norwood. They lost that year Buffalo
(01:45:13):
was a touchdown favorite for the Super Bowl. And that
was four in a row. So don before you were
twinkle in your parents eye to ninety four super Bowls
in a row, wouldn't it be nice? Buffalo? The Bills
mafia throwing their family members through tables. The nicest guy,
(01:45:34):
he's like the nicest guy. Alright, let's get an update
from Steve to seer, Steve, Steve, who do you think,
in your mind deserves it more? And who may get
their first Bengals Bills two teams that are combined. Oh,
and six in the Super Bowl. Yeah, it deserves I
don't know if that's the right word, but after all
the heartbreak that you brought up with the Bills, that's
really where your heart would go, right. Cincinnati has just
(01:45:56):
been flat bad. They didn't go to the Super Bowl
four years in a row, and the attendance has been
down a lot of course in recent years for Cincinnati.
So to see the excitement of what they have now,
including Burrow, and it's not just Burrow. They have a
great running game and they have elite receivers. It's a
great offense. It's maybe a little more than the offense
that Josh Allen has, by the way, and they're going
(01:46:17):
to the fourth quarter at Kansas City tonight thirty five
fourteen Chiefs are leading the Steelers. Patrick Mahomes already over
four hundred yards passing five touchdowns, one interception. Kansas City
scored three straight touchdowns late in the first half, three
t d passes by Mahomes, and it wound up Casey
getting five touchdowns in about a twelve minute span, the
(01:46:38):
last six minutes of the first half and the first
six minutes of the second. So this one is all
but over. They still have fifteen minutes up on the clock. Yeah,
why not, you don't have an off week. You didn't
get the one seed, so yeah, Kansas City win tonight,
they would be hosting Buffalo next weekend. Kansas City would
go to thirteen and five, and by the way, they
(01:47:00):
would be eight and two at home, getting ready for
a home game next weekend. Pittsburgh would finish the season
nine eight and one, and by the way, until their
recent scoring drive, the Pittsburgh Steelers offense tonight twenty eight plays,
forty three yards and then they went on a seventy
five yard touchdown drive with the Ben Roethlisberger thirteen yard
TD pass. So it's thirty five fourteen against the Steelers
(01:47:22):
just starting the fourth quarter. Philadelphia ends its season at
nine and nine. They lost at Tampa Bay. In fact,
the Bucks were up thirty one nothing in the third quarter,
thirty one fifteen. The final very windy there today, not
as windy next weekend. There now the Monday night winner
tomorrow's game Arizona at the Rams. That winner will go
to Tampa next weekend. San Francisco will play at top
(01:47:43):
seeded Green Bay next weekend. The forecast for Green Bay
about twenty degrees on Saturday, ten degrees on Sunday. Don't
know yet the exact schedule for next weekends. This weekend
is not done, but San Francisco was a winner at Dallas,
up twenty seven early fourth quarter seventeen the final. Dak
Prescott was sacked five times. Dallas committed fourteen penalties, and
(01:48:04):
this on a day where George Kittle had one reception.
The Niners win and advanced to the NBA four games.
They're all final road wins for Phoenix and Houston, and Utah,
which ended a four game losing streak with a dominant
win at Denver one oh two, a Denver team that
just last night dominated the Lakers, winning by thirty seven.
Minnesota beat Golden State one nineteen nine. Steph Curry out
(01:48:26):
with a sore hand, Draymond Green out at least two
more weeks with a bad back, Clay Thompson scored thirteen points,
and Kevin Duranda the Nets out indefinitely with a spring
to mcl And now, yeah, Patrick Mahomes may as well
be out of the game because Travis Kelsey just throw
a touchdown pile That was what, honestly, what a cool
read Kelsey does the you know, the the option. It
(01:48:49):
was lined up in shot and there was a little
quick pass. It was almost gonna be a Tim Tebow
jump pass over the middle, but he didn't even need
to jump. He just side armed it. Look at that,
he's Travis Kelsey doesn't need to joke. He also has
five receptions, a hundred eight yards in a score and
now a two yard touchdown pass and it's Kansas City
early in the fourth. Let me ask you a really
(01:49:12):
hard hitting question has nothing to do with anything we've
talked about so far, because I'm watching on one of
the TVs here in the Fox studio the Golden State
Warriors Minnesota Timberwolves postgame. Who's got a better flat top?
Howie Long or Chris Mullen. They neither one has changed
a haircut in thirty years. Look, I mean he's so recognizable.
(01:49:34):
Look there is Chris Mullen has not changed his hair
do They were all famous with it? And the yeah,
the answers how long? Though? Because Mullen he looks like
he has a military but he's had that forever though, Like,
look at that happen, but it's not flat top? Is
how he Long? Mullen go to the same barber, is
what I'm getting to. The flat top was the haircut.
(01:49:58):
It was kid in play u and no. But you know,
like I would go to the barber and they would
they would use a pick with a level on it.
I don't know if you do that, like when actual level,
like a contractor like a level. Yeah, back me up,
who knows what I'm talking about. We called it the
dead left shrimp. Yeah. They would take your the pick
with the level, so you knew that your flat top
was was on point. I remember I went to a
(01:50:20):
place Danny g He said right in the windows had
best flat tops. So I was like, all right, I
left with the worst flat top. We grew up with
Big Daddy Kane. I love Big Daddy Kane, but I
left with the weakest flat top of all time. And
I remember like I was so ashamed to show my
head to the public, like he gave me the baal
(01:50:42):
do Ronaldo, Like it was so terrible, it was nothing
flat about it. Give me a round head. I wanted
to bring up one of the little fun fact before
we took a break. I was looking at the point
spreads in Super Bowl history. We're saying how the Buffalo
Bills they lost four in a row. Josh Allen, what
a great story that would be if he got the
back there is it in good taste or like unnecessary?
(01:51:03):
If he acknowledged like the nineties fans and even maybe
Jim Kelly's for you, Guyssary, I saw that two games
to get there. But we'll see um. But but three
of those four Super Bowls they were underdogs. But interestingly enough,
I just looked at some of the stats in the
history of the Super Bowl. You know, we've we've had
(01:51:23):
over fifty some of the biggest underdogs actually won the game.
Just to give you a couple, Tom Brady's first Super
Bowl when they played the Greatest Show on Turf, that
Patriots team was fourteen point underdogs to the St. Louis Rams. St.
Louis at the time, when the Giants the undefeated Giants,
(01:51:44):
I'm sorry, the undefeated Patriots lost to the Giants. The
Pats twelve point favorites and they lost. When you picture it,
John Eway doing the helicopter into the end zone on
like dove in when the Broncos beat Bret fave In,
the Packers packs were eleven point favorites. So in our lifetime,
in the least in the last twenty of the years,
(01:52:04):
or at least, big underdogs lose. And the two biggest
underdogs in Super Bowl history split forty niners. In early
they were eighteen and a half point favorites over the Chargers.
They killed them. They even covered super Bowl three. That's
why the for the younger people listening, that's why the
(01:52:25):
leg the legend and Joe Namath is so strong. The
cults are eighteen point favorites over the Jets in Super
Bowl three, and the Jets have nothing to show for it,
since that's when he guaranteed it. He guaranteed. That's when
Joe Nameth guaranteed about the b d E, about his
fur code on. Don't all Joe Nameth guarantee guarantee, Yeah,
but guaranteed an eighteen point underdog. That's why that Joe
(01:52:48):
Nameth guarantee. Honestly, well, well that's incredible. When I didn't
realize they were that, I mean it was it was
nineteen sixty nine. Do you aren't born yet? How do
you expect a legacy? I didn't realize it was point.
There hasn't been an eighteen point points. There's like one
eighteen point spreading like a year maybe, so to think
(01:53:10):
that that was what they overcame. That's why Joe Namath
is a legend alright. With more coven on Rich will
wrap up Super wild Card weekend. This game looks I
mean like if they even put my homes Tyreek Killer
anyone even on the field. Why why? At this point,
hopefully Big Band throws one more touchdown pass just just
for old times sake. We'll wrap up the show next
(01:53:32):
Fox Sports Radio convene on Rich. Yeah, I'm excited about
that Keith one Time Thurman Mario Barrios fight. It sounds
like you make up that name, Keith one Time Thurman
back in the ring after two years to take on
Mario Barrios. Let's bring it on. It sounds like a
fake name he made up. I love I love Keith Thurman,
I love Mario Barrios. That's a fight. Honey, Who are
(01:53:52):
you at with? Were you with another woman? No? Was
that with Mario? Who? Which guy? Mario? Mario? Who are
you hanging in Mario? Well? Anyway, Live from the Mean
Streets of l A, Live from the Barrios of Marios.
It's Cavino and rich At Covino and Riches, Fox Sports Radio,
Fox Football Sunday Funday, and the Chiefs are still up
(01:54:15):
forty two fourteen over the Steelers in the fourth quarter
with about nine minutes left, So this game is over.
We talked about the outcomes and if you missed anything
again Fox Sports Radio dot Com. Now, a few things
that I guess we'll say for our show, you know,
Monday through Thursday. Rich what what's up? Danny was saying
that Dak Prescott. Yeah, Oh he's crying right, crying a
(01:54:37):
little bit, like crying, like crying like he's just he's
I mean, Danny j what did he he said? Read it? Yeah,
I'll read the quote for you. Here. Hang on one second.
Let me page down, page down, page down. Ah. He
says the fans felt the same way as us. I
guess that's why the reps took off and got they're
(01:55:00):
so fast. I think everybody is upset with the way
things played out. I'm not okay. Let me turn it
around on you though, And the rest got out there
quicker than they did. At the end of the game.
You would have been like faster, you would have been
(01:55:20):
yelling for that ref to get a gym pass. Yeah, yeah,
you're absolutely right. You can see that they You know what,
sometimes it just doesn't happen, man like he but the
official trip they bumped into each other. It's it is
what it is, as you say, s oc ks, it
is what it is. That's it, that's it. Well, I'm
(01:55:42):
looking forward to seeing that. He's not really crying though, right,
he's just winding, He just wanting. He's just pounding. He's
pounding about it. And by the way, I just gotta
he's gotta speak on behalf of the team. I asked
the same question as fans do, because while we do
work at Fox and have worked for multiple sports companies,
I don't know the answers to these things. When do
they officially released the divisional do they? Because usually they
(01:56:03):
wait till the final game is almost done to be
like next week, here's the schedule, But since it's a
game tomorrow, they can't wait till tomorrow? Can they to
give everyone the scoop on what the divisional games are
Saturday and Sunday? I'm not sure we can ask Steve
about that. It's a good thing the Raiders didn't advance,
though they would have moved them up to a Friday game.
(01:56:24):
You know that they know that the Monday night winner
goes to Tampa. They could slot at tonight. That's what
I'm thinking, because there is but the reason why we
haven't found out and we don't know what the schedule is,
when are they're going to raise because we've never had
this schedule before, that never been the Monday Night. That's
what I was asking, because I mean, they have to
tell the teams. They can't honestly, they can't keep the
forty niners and some of the other teams that will
(01:56:45):
be traveling guessing like we played Saturday or something and
what time. Maybe they were told already, But you're right
because it's usually around this time, Steve, end of the game,
end of the last game, they start to give you
the little wasn't it during the second half that we
found this Weekend's Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I was
thinking about now now that this game sult have out
of control, they could be like, well, next week our
(01:57:06):
matchups are said, And since you're right, since we know
the Rams Cardinals winner is automatically going to Tampa, that's
a big thing for me. Yes, now you know. So
it's like you would think you just slot in whoever
wins Monday. The game venue is not changing at all. Precisely,
Rich is hoping it's the Rams because that also validates
everything he's been saying this whole year. Yeah, my gambling
(01:57:29):
has Yeah, my gambling has not gone well this year,
I'll admit. But two things you've been saying over and
over again, they're good, and they validated you today. Yeah,
even if they lose next week, I'm validated that they were.
I kept saying they were better than people thought, and
you're right. When healthy, they were good. And you've been saying, oh, year,
the Cardinals, the Cardinals, they're not as good as people think.
(01:57:49):
They're just not that good. And if they lose tomorrow, again,
you're validated. It's about feeling good about Yes, I was right,
and I guess we'll find out who play and Tampa
Bay next. We all have bad takes, so we're a
lot to brag about it. I mean, I can tell
you that I've lost a hell of a lot of
teaser bets, parlays and straight beets all year. But we
(01:58:11):
if you if you rewind early on in the season,
when everyone's a Kansas City is done. I was like,
you're out of your mind. Kansas City's done. I'm like,
I did fail. I said they're gonna end up in
the one seed. They were pretty close. A few random questions,
just to address them here on Fox Sports Radio. We'll
talk about it further on our Patreon this week right
Patreon dot com. Slash Kevino and Richell address it tomorrow
because it's silly. But you know, house divided. Your wife's
(01:58:34):
a Packers fan, you're forty Niners fan. How much animosity
is there? Really a lot? Because we got life is
more important than sports. But in the house, no, because
you know what she she cares, but not even close
to the way I care. So she will she's more
concerned with your happiness. Like she'll wear her Packers shirt
(01:58:54):
like your cute little Packers shirt, her Packer hat, and
I'll wear my Niners shirt. It will be funny like,
but she's not, Like if the Packers win, I'm already
texting with her dad. Her dad's a big Packers fan,
so it's like, yo, lamba next week. So you're they're like,
I keep it civil, man, I'm not gonna it's all.
It's all fun for the you know, for I know
some some relationships actually like fight. Somebody could be hitting
(01:59:18):
the couch all right now. Joe burrows glasses weak or
or cool because he's owning them. I don't think like
Granny glass when you're a winner, doesn't matter, doesn't matter.
I mean I did Joe name of thing, like he's
got the b D so he could do what he wants.
I feel like he lost a bet and his team
is like, yo, you gotta wear these grandma glasses at
the press conference, and and he's rocking them and you're
(01:59:39):
seeing him all over social media's like no, what I
like him? And then my last question right, uh, fuzzy
socks on men and these cold football nights, women like
to put their tootsies in these fuzzy socks, and he
look comfy. I thought your final question was gonna be
who gets to keep all the toys they throw on
the field, And that's a better question. But security guard goes,
he's like money, where's the lost and found? Where's the
(02:00:03):
lost and found? You know what, We'll address it on
our show on Patriot. I'll see you guys next week
and enjoy your day off tomorrow for a lot of
people we'll see you. Areada there at you baby, so
you wouldn't promised, La
