Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. Are you here tonight, Aartie?
Are you here? Off the top? Let's go. I have
a little bunned out my Raiders lost, but let's go.
Let's go. Can Okay, well let's start here. Well the
plank on a Fox Football Sunday, got a handful of
these left not maybe I saw the one guy with

(00:22):
two followers. That was it. The game was yesterday at
twenty four hours. To decompressed. The other person that pissed
me off as a dude was like, don't listen to
RADI per fact, like tweet, Oh, I don't listen to
Raider fan Like, bro, you cover the line, shut up?
But no. The thing that was funny to me, well,
I mean if if you're just like, oh, listen to
these guys, it's like, well, no one's really asking to

(00:43):
be listened to. It's just we lost. We're gonna be mad.
Everyone's heard. Um. Here's the thing that was weird for me, Artie.
On a very busy night here on Fox Sports Radio,
we're watching the Chiefs beat up on the Steelers in
a game that, to be honest with you, stinking genius,
is pretty close surly right, I mean, this was seven
hit early on you like, what the hell is going on?

(01:04):
It gave me a headache after a while, you know
what I mean. By the way, how dare they have
Kelsey a touch shot pass? If Pittsburgh had any any
real life and would come back, I'd laugh at them
if that was able to happen. But you knew it
wasn't gonna get that. And then the celebration running to
the end zone and posing when there was a roughing
the penalty call, you know, after a turnover. I mean,
there's there's been a few things where if Pittsburgh had anything,

(01:27):
you might love to see them try to come back,
but they just don't have it. I gotta root against
Kansas City now they're probably getting me number one. I
gotta a Buffalo this weekend, so that'll be fun. Bills,
but oh gosh, you just so. I'm so sorry Paul
and everyone with the Bills mafia, Eric Roberts, my wife
because I can't. Yeah, my wife says, I can't root
for the Bills. Why would you do that? But you know,
I gotta be honest with you, Arnie, and watching the game,

(01:50):
I wasn't I wasn't mad. I mean, I was upset
after they lost. But the I'm a Raiders fan for
those who are new to the show, and I'm not
one of those guys that can hide my fandom. I'm
I'm very envious of those who can do this and
somehow maintain a level of lot. I'm not a fan
of any team, which and how is that possible? You're
in this for a reason. But I absolutely positively had

(02:14):
this feeling as a fan that I hadn't had in years,
and it was horrific and awesome at the same time.
You know, it's I'm staying up palms or what's the
eminem song? Knees week, palms and sweater already, moms spaghetti.
I mean, I'm I'm sitting there and I'm just nervous,
and and I kind of stopped. My wife's kind of watching.

(02:37):
She's on her phone. I had to give my phone
to my daughter so she shut the hell up. Um.
But as I'm watching, I'm looking around and I'm thinking, man,
playoff football is awesome, right, I mean, isn't it great?
This whole weekend we had a couple this is a
stinker tonight righte the and and for the most part
of the ones. Five games we've had so far, three

(02:58):
of them have been Dudd's. The people complaining about that, oh,
this is why you can at teams. I don't shut up.
Shut up? Did you watch the Cowboys Niners game? Did
you watch the Raiders Bengals game? Basically, I will say this, Listen,
I love you, Drew Brees. I think you're awesome. Whoever's
decision it was to put him in the booth needs

(03:19):
to quickly move him back to the desk. Okay, but
I heard Mike Treko talking more yesterday than I ever
have in my life. And apparently the only thing those
two dudes came up with was Joe Burrow and Jamar
Chase went to college together. Did you know that, Artie?
Did you know that? The first time that's breaking? I
was blown. I had no idea that Joe Burrow and

(03:41):
Jamaar Chase I went to college together. But I love
I'm not saying I'm not saying we could do a
better job. I'm saying we could do a more interesting job.
We could do more entertaining job than those two that
I promised you. I mean, have you ever done a
game or done a show with someone who constantly is
on their phone. Like you look to him and you're talking.

(04:01):
You like they're playing on their phone. They don't have
any idea what you just said to them, or they're
working the phones or whatever it might be. I felt
like Drew Brees was playing on his phone during the
whole broadcast because something what happened, and you look out
He's like, Okay, well, Drew Brees isn't gonna say anything.
I was. I remember a guy used to play with
this beeper all the time, but that that's back in
the day. That's God, that's really going back right now.

(04:22):
But I loved and I think every fan base, even
the seven seeds, uh, even the Steeler fans or a
majority of this first half, even Eagle fans who had
some moments today. I think it was awesome, you know,
to just see your teams in the playoffs and have
this moment. But again, Arnie, we're sitting here on this
Sunday night after now Super wild Card weekend, and I

(04:45):
feel like we're talking about the same teams that we
were last year, only exchanged Cincinnati out for Cleveland. Did
I just hear a whistle? Oh no, that's my bad.
I'm sorry. Going to continue you know what, I get it, Danny,
and then they're all fired up. It didn't really affect
the play to me, I mean, guy quit but yeah, no, no,
there was no quick But first of all, you you
quit like a tenth of a second. It didn't affect

(05:07):
the plan. I'm glad they just went ahead and let
it be a touch showt But the rules say that
I wasn't supposed to be. But I'm glad they did.
I and I said, did I hear it? Was? That? Stands? Okay,
there's it. Oh, by the way, they just announced the times.
I heard Cavino and Rich talking about this. They just
announced the times for next week, and the Bengals Titans

(05:28):
game will be Saturday at four thirty eastern. The Niners
Packers game will be on Fox Saturday night, and then
the Sunday game will be the winner of the Arizona
Rams game against Tampa Bay at three thirty eastern. And
we'll be able We'll be sitting here, I assume, well
six thirty eastern. Maybe it'll just be wrapping up. We'll
be the post game show for the Bills and Kansas City. Yes,

(05:51):
why are you doing this to them? Well, I guess
my overriding point this week and was it was fun. Sure,
we had some blowouts. I think we joked on Mike
Silver's tweet a couple weeks ago. Yeah, you're gonna get
some trash teams in the playoffs, but if you enjoy it. Um,
I'd much rather be having the Chiefs the Steelers on
right now than having to fight about where the Lakers
are and what moves Lebron James is gonna make before

(06:13):
the All Star break. I mean, Artie was it was
an intriguing week and at the very least fun because
we got playoff football here. No, it was good. I
enjoyed it. Yeah, there was a couple of blowoffs where
we have three of them, um, But I you know what,
I loved watching the Bills handed to the Patriots. The
Patriots were frauds, just like I thought they were. And
I know they're listening to us in Boston. I hate

(06:34):
to be the bear of bad news, especially because I
have a slight New York accent, but um man, it
was good to see the Patriots just get smacked around
and Belichick give you all bitter face. Um. At the
Prince Conference the next morning, he could he couldn't get
the press conference out of the way quick enough. It
was like, let's six am, five A. I'm going to
do a press conference. And five am the next day

(06:56):
he was just He's like, you have the one reported,
and so I assumed that you're gonna want to continue
this uh coaching zigging twit twit because uh you could
assume correctly or something like that. He just just so bitter.
But that was great to see them getting smacked around.
I loved it. Yeah, I couldn't have but wonder as
I was watching the closing moments of that game and

(07:16):
the celebration and all the things that were being thrown
on the field, I see you Bills fans, But I
couldn't help but wonder, even though it was forty seven seventeen,
if there wasn't a large faction of just die hard
NFL fans that we're watching that to see New England
get its come up. It's right. I mean, we spent
part of this year even saying, oh my gosh, New

(07:39):
England might be that team no one wants to see
in the playoffs, and yeah, they didn't make the playoffs
last year, and then lo and behold when they get
there after. What happened a couple of weeks ago whenever
New England just ran the football and every single play
and embarrassed Buffalo on their field. To have the Bills
only have one drive that stalled, and that one drive

(07:59):
that old was them kneeling on the football at the
end of the game is absolutely phenomenal. What was seven
straight drives in the game of either of touchdown or
field goal on the I love the Josh Allen five touchdowns,
four incopletions. That's the best out of he was fantastic. Absolutely.

(08:20):
By the way, which fans are the worst, the Bills
fans for throwing what they throw out onto the field
or the Cowboy fans. And I've not seen this yet,
I'm throwing trash onto the field at the at the Cowboys. Okay,
I've I know this is gonna sound odd, but I'm
gonna defend Dallas fans here Again, I wanna make this

(08:41):
very clear. I'm not a defender of throwing anything on
the field. It sounds like it. It's wrong and you shouldn't. No, no, no,
I'm not. I'm not don't throw things on the field,
but I don't think they were throwing it at their
own players on. I think they were throwing it at
the officials about. That's what I think it was about. Again,
I'm not saying that you're right, but I saw a
lot of the Cowboy fans are throwing stuff at their players.

(09:04):
I just think they were angry with how quickly the
officials ran out of dodge. I mean, I'll tell you what,
The Dallas Cowboys royally screwed up that final possession. Right,
we all agree they absolutely positively royally screwed up that
final possession. But I mean I think a little bit

(09:24):
more of an explanation. You know, it is okay for
officials in that position because just to basically say that's
the game and go spreading off the field. I mean,
could you imagine if you and I are sitting here,
And again I'm not defending any call. I'm not saying
it was wrong. I'm not saying anything about the whistle
in the Raiders game, But could you imagine after a
coach loss ran off the field and as press conferences said,

(09:47):
yeah we lost, sorry I didn't catch all by, we
would destroy them, destroy you. Well, first of all, Chris,
you know and I know, um, you can't mark the
ball by yourself absolute and if official has to mark
the ball, so give you get to the center does nothing? Um,
he doesn't get the mark the ball. He he doesn't
get to play the game and mark the football. Um.

(10:10):
Granted the official had to come from twenty five yards away,
so maybe the is there like an assistant official, kind
of like there's like a captain and assistant captain where
the assistant official gets to market immediately in cases like that.
But really, fourteen seconds left? Um? I thought maybe I
was wrong when I saw Dak Prescott run up the

(10:30):
middle of like, wait a minute, they do they really
have a time out? Love? Maybe I have just understood that.
I really did. I said, why they must have a
time out left? Because who the hell is gonna do
something like that? You know what? There was fourteen seconds left, right,
so I would I would say to myself, yeah, you
could pick up another ten yards, but they started guarding
the you know, the sideline, So I go, you might

(10:53):
as well take two cracks at the end zone instead
of just one and see what you can come up with.
That's better than even gaining tenure and going out of
bounds and and wasting one extra shot. You might as well,
go for dude, shots you know, yeah, no, I I
cannot agree more. In fact, you and I had the
exact same opinion when I saw Dak Press Prescott talk
and run, boy, there's an out of context put the

(11:15):
football under his arm and run. I literally thought they
did have a time out that I don't know about here,
that maybe there had. And listen, Mike McCarthy, solid run man, um,
good luck going back to your little fired coaches association
at O Gruden started that, and I'm sure in two
years the great Peter King can ride a nice little

(11:36):
puff piece about how you've learned more of the analytics.
But dude, you're gone. You're out, fired, gone, finished out.
I mean, there is no way that Mike McCarthy keeps
his job. And I know that he doesn't call the plays,
and I know, but he paid that last play. I
guess he had to write. He could have overwrote it. Well,
it was killed more that called it. And then he
said they spoke to the analytic sky. How many people

(11:58):
to just speak to in thirty seconds. You didn't have
a lot of time to make that call. But that's
not even the reason why I would let him go
number one again. You and I have talked about this
a lot. Clock's taking for Jerry Jones not a young
dude anymore. Championship Expectations number two. In his postgame press conference,

(12:18):
he defended it it was the right call. I'm sorry
when it doesn't work, it's not the right call. I
don't know. I don't know why we get stuck on this,
and analytics people are big on it. And and again,
y'all are smarter than me. You you went to math class.
I didn't. You guys had had had nerd moments that
I but you're not analytics good at math. So my

(12:41):
point is, even if the numbers tell you it's the
right call, if it doesn't work, it's not the right call.
But because even even if it's the right call, let's say,
if you believe in it, what were you counting on
to the exact second that there was gonna be one
second left? Because it wasn't gonna be two seconds even
you weren't going to get it done fast enough, so

(13:02):
I I And by the way, if you would have
gained another five yards, there would have been no time left.
So no, I don't even know how you could even
say there was enough time. He didn't normally yards he
was going to get. I. I completely disagree. It was
a ridiculous call. You take two shots at the end zone.
You botched up the end I'd be living if I
was Cowboys. So so two things real quick for Cowboy fans.

(13:24):
That that I just want to point out because I
know you're at Danny g and I can relate how
angry Raider fans were with some officiating in that game yesterday.
But my buddy Jeriostratski, who played in the NFL for
ten years, offensive lineman for the Buffalo Bills, had a
great run. He tweeted this. Tony Romo talked about it. Hell,
even jim Nance talked about it. And Jaros don't understand

(13:44):
why people are pissed at the official. In that situation.
An official has to spot the ball before it snapped,
throw the ball back to the official. Probably five or
six things in the last quarter that high school players
know and do that these pros did not sloppy. That's
another reason why if I'm Jerry, and don't get me wrong,
the Niners did some things to make sure the Cowboys

(14:06):
had a shot. Holy smokes, Jimmy G. But um again
in the end. I just I wish, I wish there
was a little bit more time taken to better explain it. Right,
That's the only complaint I have from that game. I
thought it was incredible TV Arnie. I was living in
the eighties and nineties, and well, why am I talking

(14:27):
about seventies, eighties and nineties nostalgia with the Niners and
the Cowboys and they're open with the catch by you know,
Dwight Jones and the end zone. I just everything or
Dwight Clarks, excuse me, in the end zone. I'm getting
Britain Joe's White Clark confused. I mean all it was
just fantastic, and and then the game lived up to
the hype. And even in the final three minutes, you're like, wait,
oh gosh, San Francisco just iced it with this run,

(14:49):
and then all of a sudden, like whoa they didn't.
Cowboys still have a shot. I loved everything about it.
I just wish instead of racing off the field as
fast as they could, the official would have taken a
little bit more of a moment to say and so
just games over, peace out, say games over. An official
has to touch the ball. Here's what happened Anthony Romo

(15:09):
did a great job laying it out. What did you
wanted this? When I could see him staying out there,
you go all right, here's here's the here's what happened. Um,
we all know that there was a stupid call, so
Dak Prescott couldn't get the ball grounded and dime so
game overs. I would out have been better where you
were one, I think so. I think that would have

(15:29):
made me a little bit happier if the officials would
have come out and just basically said, hey, listen, cowboy fan,
your quarterback screwed this up, like totally go heel w.
This is where the w W E needs to be
a little bit more involved in in the NFL. I
was thinking about this this week last week, Wait this

(15:50):
time last week. What if Rich Bisaccia and wonder Kid
Brandon Staley would go out to the midfield and you
give him a Mike wrestling style and Becha goes, does
everyone here want us to play for a Tide's like
Boo and stays trying to get him to cheer for it.
I mean, you could have a wrestling type moment there
if the officials would truly get the mic and tell

(16:12):
you how they feel. Ben Roethlisberger's last passing a Pittsburgh
Steelers uniform will come up short of the goal line.
Kansas City will destroy Pittsburgh tonight forty two to twenty one.
And Arnie, it looks like we'll watch Ben Roethlisberger walk
off the field for a last for the last time
as not just a Steeler, but an NFL quarterback. We'll

(16:33):
talk about it next. We have one more game in
Super wild Card weekend of preview as well rams Cardinals.
A busy night todd for from the next hour from Vegas.

I like how every time that there is a controversy,

(17:42):
there is a gate that's added onto the end of it.
Right in the Flake gay Um spy gate. Whenever something
gets larger. We're so creative. It's always super right. This
is Super wild Card. But I loved it on you
and I I know that we still have another game
tomorrow night. The schedules are set for next week, the
best a whole weekend tomorrow. I can't wait, dude. I know, man,
I'm pretty fired up for Arizona in Los Angeles. Honestly,

(18:07):
I was when when I was going through the six
games this weekend and I tried to lay out, all right,
here's if I take that I'm a Raiders fan out
of it, here's the sixth I'm most excited. Or if
I were to rank and one through six, I think
Niner's Cowboys was one, right mate. Some might have had
Bill's Patriots to just because they split the season series,

(18:28):
but I had I mean, I had Rams Cardinals too.
I just think tonight tomorrow it's gonna be amazing. Uh
So you've had, you have the opportunity for one of
the games we thought was gonna be great that ended
up being outstanding, and we've got another one waiting for
us tomorrow night. You know what, I thought you were
gonna ask me what you said. I thought you would say,
rank all the teams that lost, and who has a

(18:49):
bright future. And I was looking at all the teams
and every team that lost, except maybe for the Raiders,
because you don't know what they're going to do. UM
all seem to have a bright future. Or I mean,
Pittsburgh's finally gonna get rid of Ben Roethlisberger, get themselves
a quarterback that could sling it down field. They were
nine seven or one. I think they gounna want to
improve on that. Philadelphia. I mean, you want to talk

(19:11):
about UM just getting started. UM with Jalen Hurds. They was,
but you expect big things there. I mean I still
expect big things with Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, UM,
the Patriots with Mac Jones. I'm not sure what to
get with the Raiders because of who's gonna be their
coaches Cargo and I'm staying. But the other four losers
seem to have a pretty bright future. I feel much more.

(19:33):
If that's the way you want to go with this
segment instead of tipping our captain Ben Roethlisberger, I'm fine
with it. I would disagree a thousand percent. On the Eagles,
I think, yeah, I think they've got three first round picks.
I just don't think Sirianni is the guy. Um. I
love to be wrong because I love Eagles fans, um,
but I just again, is Jail and your guy? Are

(19:56):
you committing to? It's kind of the same question actually already.
It's funny. I have the same questions about Philly that
I have with Vegas. I just think Vegas roster is
better than Philly right now, and I think they got
a crazy person as their coach, and I don't know
how what's their strength of victory heading into the points.
I've not Photophia was the worst team in the NFL
coming into this year, and what was there over under

(20:18):
on wind total like five six? You about were the
only person that was saying Philadelphia was the worst team
in the NFL. Think they were? They were they were
certainly one of the long shots of the of the
Super Bowl. I think they overachieved Jalen Hurts as a
young quarterback that I think it's only going to get
Petter right. If I'm a Philadelphia Eagle fan, I'm pumped
about the future. I can, but I disagree with you. Okay,

(20:40):
who's catching passes for him? Well, I'm out saying there.
They're not need of something. Three first round picks so
they can do so that there over under was six
and a half, which was the same number as the Bengals.
So how could you feel good about the direction they're
heading when you went nine and eight? And yeah, could
you feel good about it? In a division that basically
you had to scratch and claw to make sure that

(21:01):
you got in over a Saints team who was starting
Trevor Simeon and a Vikings team who decided just to
basically wet the bed down the stretch. You stay high
on Philadelphia. I'm gonna be negative on them right now,
but I will tell you one thing, Um, I'm only
high on the Cowboys if they make a coaching change.
And you don't think McCarthy's gone, No, I don't think

(21:26):
he's gone. All right, I'm gonna pull an Artie Spaniard.
I promise you he's gone. I can I really guarantee
you he's gone. Because here's the thing. Jerry Jones has
lamented allowing Sean Payton to get away for years because
Sean Payton was the o C under Bill Parcels whenever
and again, sticking with Bill Parcels over singing with Mike McCarthy.

(21:49):
It's not even comparable, right there, ain't stuck with Bill Parcels.
Had a nice run, but Sean Payton went off and
has been a thorn in his side every since. And
Sean Payton's gonna get a good quarterback this offseason, and
the Saints are gonna be back. Artie dan Quinn is
probably gonna get the Broncos job, so Mike McCarthy's losing
his defensive court. Kellen Moore is gonna have an opportunity
to interview at several places, maybe be the head coach

(22:11):
at Vegas or or get an opportunity to And I
know the NFL has rules about elevating um, what is
it titles. If he tries to go somewhere else, I
think they're gonna give Kellen Moore the job. I think
he's I think he's gonna let Mike McCarthy go. I
think they're gonna have a coaching search, and I think
he's gonna end up hiring Kellen Moore's fasting. Kellen Moore

(22:32):
is the one who made the play call for Dark Prescott.
He's gonna get elevated to a head coaching job. And
you want to fire McCarthy really because of the last play.
Had they throw it the endl twice and when they complete,
you wouldn't be saying the damn thinking about him getting
absolutely not. I I said Mike McCarthy was out if
he lost this first playoff game. I've I've said it
for weeks now. This team looks ill prepared. They've lost

(22:54):
games they have no business losing. There's not a game
on the Cowboys schedule that they wanted, Like wow, I'm
I had not expect him to win. Their strength of
victory has to be terrible so far this season, Arenie,
that's one of your favorite stats. I don't know if
it will happen tomorrow. I don't know if it will
happen Tuesday, but the Cowboys are gonna be the ninth

(23:14):
vacancy in the NFL, and Jerry Jones will eventually elevate
Kellen Moore book It, take It to the Bank, and
Cowboy fans will rejoice because McCarthy's Arnie their win over
the Chargers. If I know that's going back to like
what week two or three is still the most mismanaged
final two minutes of a game I think we've ever seen.
By the way, strength to victory for the Eagles point

(23:35):
three five zero, the lowest in the entire NFL for
any team playoffs, non plaffs. All right, so when we
come back, I listen. I know Ben Mallow always tells
us the story is always in the loser's locker room.
All right, the better stories there. But let's celebrate some wins.
For instance, how impressive were the Buccaneers today? Did the

(23:58):
Niners make a statement? And who stopping the Chiefs? But
before we get into it all, in your tweet, Steve
to sin for the first second time tonight to get
hiss caught up on everything in the world of sports.
What's up, Steve? I wouldn't get the night off, but
I gave Bob Bo. I told Bobo don't even come
in because your Cowboys lost. I don't want to see
your blasted face, so I forget it. Not in allright?

(24:18):
Hello there, Yeah, actually he kind of you know, when
he finds out you're here. He San Francisco in Kansas
City with playoff wins Tampa Bay as well, and that
was over Philly. You mentioned the Eagles. They didn't beat
a single playoff team this year. And now, as we
mentioned on previous Sunday nights, it is locked in not
just three first round picks in late April, it's three

(24:39):
top twenty picks in the first round. They're gonna have
their own at number nineteen, and that's assured because their
seasons over and of all the playoff teams losing this weekend,
they have the worst record, so they're locked in at nineteen.
They have number sixteen overall from the Colts. I assume
that's the Carson Wentz trade. They have the fifteen overall
from the Dolphins because the Eagles moved down and got

(25:02):
that first round, and eventually last year moved back up
a couple and got Davante Smith, who's been very good obviously,
but we'll see who they whiff on it wide receiver
this time. Because as we've seen before. Not everybody's as
good as Davante Smith. Wasn't Jalen Reagular the guy that
fumbled upunt today aside from the forgettableut regular season he
had And Chris, I'm glad you brought up Drew Brees
work this weekend. What what what I would point out,

(25:25):
what stood out to me negatively is the Tony Romo
impersonation attempting to predict plays and sound smart and not
doing well at it. Can I just say everyone in
all booths stopped doing that. That doesn't serve us the fans.
You're supposed to be broadcasting for us, the fans. You're
not good at it. Most of you even been great

(25:48):
at You think just because you can do it successfully
a few times, you should keep doing No, that's not analysis,
that's not your job. Stop doing that to me. I mean,
like at the end of this game, I mean we
needed an analyst at the end of the game at
Dallas and dak takes off running final play clock ticking
down now, Jim Nance immediately says, WHOA, I don't think

(26:11):
that's gonna work out because the time's gonna run out
on Dallas. But what has a Romo immediately said, it
will it'll work out, They'll be able to clock this,
and then there's this pause and then, oh my gosh,
that's right. He had another wrong prediction from the overpaid
Tony Romo. Stop trying to sound like you know everything.
No one knows everything. We're all human. In tonight's TV pregame,

(26:34):
by the way, one of them said, for our team,
we used to have eighteen seconds as the dividing line
whether we had enough time to run line up again
and then clock the bull quickly Dallas and we had
fourteen seconds to do all that, and they ran out
of time. Season over, much to the surprise of Tony Romo.
San Francisco was up seven at Dallas early fourth quarter

(26:55):
seventeen the final Dak Prescott was sacked five times Dallas
with fourteen pen Aldi's San Francisco will play at top
seeded Green Bay Saturday night on Fox TV eight fifteen
pm Eastern Time. Tampa Bay's win was thirty one fifteen
over Philly. The Bucks led him thirty one nothing in
the third quarter. There's still a game Monday night Arizona
at the l A Rams. That winner goes to Tampa

(27:17):
next Sunday, three pm Eastern time. Kansas City's win was
predictable and thorough tonight against Pittsburgh forty two to twenty
one the final. Remember it was only three weeks ago
where the Chief dusted Pittsburgh six ten in that game.
Late in the game it was thirty six to three. Tonight,
it was thirty five seven mid third quarter, and at

(27:38):
the time the Steelers offense on twenty eight plays only
had forty three yards of offense. They had forty three yards.
Kansas City had thirty five points at the time a
touchdow pass today, I'm not sure up yeah. And then
so we've got Cincinnati playing at top seeded Tennessee Saturday,
four thirty pm Eastern time. You know, Cincinnati got off

(28:01):
to a good start with its offense yesterday. I thought
that was an impressive start for an offense. And then
Buffalo played its game seven drive, seven first and seven touchdown.
So thank you very much. Kansas City will host Buffalo
next Sunday, six third epm Eastern time. And in the NBA,
we had just four games Phoenix and Houston, one on
the road Utah as well, ending a four game losing

(28:22):
streak in Minnesota beat Golden State one, but Steph Curry
was out with a sore hand, Draymond Green out at
least two more weeks with a bad back. Kevin Durant
and the Nets out indefinitely with a spring to mc
l ESPN saying he could miss four to six weeks.
Back to you, thanks, Steve, Steve to Seger, he'll be
with us the top and bottom of every hour. I

(28:43):
don't think he got that one, the old kicker, Yes,
right over your head, hold on, hold on, good stuff
on you first Hall of Fame kicker. Yeah, right, yeah,
I didn't know that. Yeah. And do we assume that
you know we're gonna have a couple following like Vinetarian?
Absolutely absolutely and Daniel Carlson. Now listen, um, you had

(29:06):
mentioned the over under, So that got me. That got
me kind of thinking a little bit, Arnie. I went
back and I did the research. Now I am, I'm
not a gambler yet. It's not legal in my state,
but I as sure as i'll can play one. So
I told you two overs that I was all over
this year were the Raiders and then the Steelers, and
both of them hit in fact, And I told you

(29:27):
that Jaguars under which you fought and scratched and called
us all stupid, which it easily hit. Six and a
half was the over under for the Jaguars. They won
three games. But I I guess this kind of surprised
me a little bit. Maybe it shows you just how
it didn't. Vegas was on or was off. Every team
that hit their OVERBD, according to Vegas insider dot com,

(29:48):
made the playoffs because sometimes it'll be like a four
and a half, they win six games, It's like, whoa
h it's over there. No Buccaneers over um thirteen and four,
they're over. Under was twelve. Rams and Packers are. Rams
were ten and a half. Packers were ten, Niners are.
Patriots were nine and a half, Titans were nine, Cowboys
were nine, Steelers right and a half, Cardinals right and

(30:08):
a half, Raiders were seven, and the Bengals and Eagles
were six and a half. Eat Miami What was Miami
eight and a half? No, they were nine. Miami was
nine and a half, So they were they just missed
their under. In fact, the Kansas City Chiefs, with twelve wins,
did not hit their over there over was twelve and

(30:29):
a half for the over under, and oh guess who
else didn't that was in the playoffs the San Francisco
forty niners they're over under was ten and a half.
They went ten and seven. The Buffalo Bills at eleven
and six were a push. So there you have it, Arnie,
number you catch it on your tickets pretty easily. Well

(30:51):
that's for the for the Raiders. I mean, it kind
of took them a little bit of work there near
the end. But listen, you mentioned Pittsburgh. It just came
to an end. We're gonna taking straight to the locker
room here in a bit. We'll hear from Ben Roethlisberger
will get his final quotes. But I mean, listen, um,
feel what you want about the way it ended. Did
you stick around too long? Was he a problem more
than he was? Maybe kind of fixing things later in

(31:14):
his career. Some would say it's that. I think Chris
collins Worth even alluded to it tonight, Annie, that it's
the offensive play calling that's been a problem. But damn,
that's one hell of a run for one guy in
one city, and the consistent success that they've had in
in Pittsburgh with with Roethlisberger at the quarterback, last year.
I used to think that after years years rore up

(31:34):
in Pittsburgh that he may go someplace else. Um No,
and that's not going to happen. Obviously, he's going to retire.
It has been a great run. It's not been pretty
the last year or two. But he's certainly a Hall
of Famer, no doubt about that. And he's just had
a great career. And what a great place for him
the end end up as um coming from Miami of Ohio.
So I mean it was like a win win situation

(31:55):
for him. Eighteen seasons in the league. Wow, think about
this record. Think about this record, one sixty five, sixty
five wins, eighty one losses and one tie. Um. Hell yeah,
I mean there there weren't a lot of as you
like to say, give me in that division. No gimmes

(32:16):
in that division. Uh Now, branded he hasn't won a
playoff game. I didn't realize this since two thousand and sixteen,
so the Steelers hadn't won a playoff game in quite
a while. But what's the what's the stat on Mike Tomlin.
He's never had a season where he's finished on a five.
So he's been five hundred or better every single year.
What around to two times Super Bowl winner, made what

(32:38):
three appearances in the Super Bowl? They lost to the
Green Bay Packers in Jerry World as a matter of fact,
So pretty incredible career and his rookie here. You know,
I'm thinking a lot about the Raiders this year and
what their six last second walk offs. He had four
comebacks in the fourth quarter in six game winning drives
during his ricky season with the Pittsburgh Steelers when they

(33:03):
finished what like, um, that's where they're like thirteen and
three or fourteen and two or something like that. So
incredible career, big Bin. I'm with you. I think he's done.
I don't think he'll he'll fall into that category of
the Brett Farves or the Andrew lux of the world,
or even the Philip Rivers this year and Drew Brees
where someone gets shorty like, oh should they go called

(33:23):
Ben Arnie? Thoughts and not thoughts and prayers, peace and love.
I think nothing against I mean, not dying. But I
think his career is done. I mean, I don't think
this dude needs to be someone that's trying to scratch
and claw and hang on anywhere if the phone call
is made and I I agree. And he was so
bad in the first half in this game. It was
absolutely horrible. I'm like, wow, this is this is the

(33:45):
way he's gonna go out. You know, when Pittsburgh got
the seven nothing, leader said myself, Oh no, hey, wait
a minute, maybe his career is not over just yet.
But that was short lived though, no doubt about that.
But you're right about bed and this is a career.
And he walked out obviously obviously out of a Hall
of favor, and um, go on to his next career.
I wonder what he's gonna I wonder if he's gonna
do any broadcasting. I don't think so. I mean, do

(34:08):
you think he would be good at it? No, I
don't think you'd be good at at all. To be honest,
I just sometimes when he opens up, I'm like, Okay,
this dude's fine, but he's not. Honestly, Drew Brees really
wasn't either. But and and Drew Brees really isn't good
at broadcast. I think anyone is better than Jayson Witten.
But in all honesty, I mean, I just he kind

(34:29):
of is a guy that I think will randomly like
show up. It's like, oh, Look, there's Big Ben, because
it seems like he's figured out the fatherhood and the
marriage thing much later in Live, so I think I
think he's a guy that might randomly show up like
Andrew Luck did last Monday, Like whoa the hell did
Andrew Luck come from? So we'll dive into it all
Big Ben. The Steelers go down, the Chiefs move on.

(34:52):
It'll be Kansas City and Buffalo next Sunday night in
Narrowhead and should be a rocket. Hey when we come back,
let's hit your tweets next to Tony and play on
a Fox Football Sunday Sarni and playing on a Fox
Football Sunday Super wild Card weekend, And then there was
one one game left rams Cardinals. We'll get into to
kick off our number two. Hour three is always what

(35:14):
we learned on wild Card Weekend and Todd Firman is
coming up next hour. Gosh, man, I don't even there's
so many good tweets. Aren't you just want to hit
up some of these because there's tons of great stuff.
Tonight it was the most commented on tweet that Arnie
sends out to remind you that the show, which is
what are we like? Eleven years old, the new show.

(35:35):
So we appreciate everyone checking in on this exciting show. Um, Minnesota,
sooner right, Arnie High teams think they can both the
run up play up field and down it in less
than fourteen seconds. Blows my mind. What an awful play call.
You know, they have to be practicing this in practice

(35:56):
all the time, you know, like over last five sex months,
and the fact that they couldn't figure out what the
hell they were doing is just mind boggling. Shame on them.
That's not even the thing you call about. It's just
too close. You take a couple of shots at the
end zone. If you're a cowboy fan, you're living. Tim
Clancy writes, get rid of the seventh seed in each division?

(36:20):
Are not playoff worthy? Oh stop it? Oh, I because
we had a couple of bad games. You're gonna start
complaining about that now. Oh you see there, because it's
the first time we've done it. So there's the small
sample size. Let's go ahead and get rid of it. Um.
But you know what, I'm fine with it. The Patriots
and the Bills were blowout thirty point blow out there.
They weren't a seventh seed. It's just ridiculous, I got

(36:43):
U c l A. Dodger Frank writes, By, by the way,
can I just pause real quick? I agree with you
any I mean, I know that there's not a lot
of times where we're kumbaya on the same page. On
a take like that, it's more football, and it added
it added some juice to the final two weeks of
the regular season. And listen, I don't think Philadelphia was

(37:03):
a playoff team. I don't think we watched a playoff
team in Pittsburgh. Kell. I don't know if the Raiders
were a playoff team this year, but guess what, they
made the most of their opportunities. You you reach a
point where if you're a seventh seed just getting in,
guess who you're playing this second best team in your conference.
So you're getting punished pretty hard on the road. Exactly.
It's it's gonna take a herculean effort to win anyway.

(37:26):
U c l A. Dodger Frank writes, the only thing
more played out than telling us that Jamaar Chase and
Joe Burrow were teammates at L s U was the
constant reminders of what gas cost are what the number
one movie was The last time the Bengals want to play.
Uh yeah, it was like it was like the same
time as Georgia winning the championship. Yeah, you know what again,

(37:50):
Mike Tarico is a rock star and he's great at
his job. But man, for some reason, yesterday they were
literally every single pass that was completed to Jamaar Chase
Harney completion to Jamaar Chase. They worked out in college,
went to college together on that championship. Maybe the officiating

(38:13):
can threw them off. Also, it was bad all the
way around, you know what I mean By the way,
I want to be quick to correct myself. Did I
say eighty? I'm sorry. Was the last Bengals playoff win.
They beat the Oilers Love You Blue, and then lost
to the Raiders and Bo Jackson in the next game.
It was Bo Jackson's final football game, so they had

(38:33):
a chance to exercise those demons. But hey, I don't know,
maybe I watched it too much. Maybe I've been spoiled
by the Red Zone channel. And this weekend was the
first time that I sat and actually watched full games
because it was weird. I was like, gosh, and the
only thing that they could really talk about in the
Buffalo New England game was how cold it was? Did
you catch that too? It's going down to the field.

(38:56):
It is cold, isn't it terrible? I didn't know that
coming in that I was gonna be the so called
by the way, I don't try to be manly and
we're as George Sleeves. I gotta I gotta put on
like a sweatshirt, no hoodie, and um, you know, over
my jersey or under my jersey. I can't go out
like that. I will never know where that came from.
Nobody thinks that you're more manly if you're not wearing

(39:18):
less gold out right, it's the dumbest thing ever. No
One ever says, oh my gosh, look at that stud.
He's not wearing a shirt when it's negative six. No either,
thinking that dope is getting hypothermia. Right, it's just unbelievable. Uh.
And then Brendan writes one more real quick, we'll get
some more of these kickoff next hour. Anyone with a
fully functional brain knows the Raiders weren't expected to make

(39:40):
noise in the playoffs. Congratulations on a relatively great year.
Car and Pasaccia. They need to keep and build around
these two anyone who disagrees wants Las Vegas to fail. Oh, Brendan,
for someone that lived on Raiders Twitter for about the
last twenty four hours, they've already written the post script
on both of their careers. I mean their cars on

(40:00):
He's he's off to his next job. I mean everyone's
just kind of dawn with her with the car Besaccia
come but you didn't give Do you think cars is
coming back then? Right? Is that what you're saying? I
think he is, I absolutely do. But if Mark Davis
decides to go in a different direction and head coach,
you know, Mark Davis the coach who's going to bring
him back, it'll be the new coach. And I think

(40:21):
that's kind of been a mutual decision between Mark Davis
and Derek Carr. Well, we got more on the postseason
coming up, plus a playoff game to preview and Todd
Firm and coming up next hour, one hour. Already in
the boat. It's already in plank on a Fox Football
Sunday our two already are you kidding me? Let's go.

(40:43):
It's already a plank on a Fox Football Sunday. He's
the stinking genius already Spaniel I'm Chris plank Um. Really
good crew behind the scenes, Don Brown making sure we
stay on the air, Danny g hooking us up. He's
back work in the audio. Right now, We're gonna get
a little post game from one Ben Roethlisberger a bit,

(41:04):
and the great Steve to Seger on updates. By the way,
I had to cancel my Vegas trip this week. Why
I know, there was eight of us getting together, eight
fraternity brothers, and as of this morning, there was four
and one backed out. It was just me, Um, Resin
and Lance were the only three left. So we just
said we got a good I mean, Thumper couldn't come.

(41:26):
He couldn't come at the last minute. You have a
friend named Keish, Yeah, this is our nicknames from college.
Kay couldn't come, So I'm sorry I had to you know,
I'm out. So we just we only had three left,
you know, I am. I haven't you know, I've been meaning.
I got an email the boss Man this week. I'm

(41:46):
actually in l a on super Bowl week, and so
I mean it's not like I'm like, hey, if you
need anything, I'll go to the super Bowl for you.
But I'm just saying we typically get to do that
Super Bowl show. Now you'll ruin every play because somehow
Vermont's TV is ahead of l A's. But have said,

(42:07):
I think they'd be worried if I'm in my home
studio because uh, Steelers just wrapped up their loss to
the Kansas City Chiefs on my feet in my office studio.
But in all seriousness, it's, uh, it could be fun.
I think it's gonna be. And by the way, sidebar
quickly everything is to go in l A. So unless

(42:27):
we have numbers that reach code read in the next
couple of days, Roger Goodell, at least through NFL spokespeople,
came out and said, oh no, no, no, this thing
is happening in l A. Now one thing to get
too already real quick. Someone brought up all this these
seven seeds. We don't need to expand the playoffs. In
all honesty, the seven seeds haven't necessarily performed all that well.

(42:52):
But I'm sorry if I fall in that category of
I don't care. I kind of dig the expanded playoffs.
It puts more emphasis on being the one seed. It now,
the Bengals still were able to rest players their final
week of the season. It worked out pretty well for them,
they're moving on a couple of other teams and the

(43:12):
Packers were able to But listen, I get it, I
understand it hasn't necessarily played out in the most competitive
games ever. In fact, Brian hits us up on Twitter
Twitter and says Super wild Card weekend has been a
complete snooze. Hopefully next week and provides some actual interesting
games to watch, unlike this weekend. I just stopped like, well,
don't watch then. The NBA is going on right now,

(43:34):
you've got college basketball. Get a grinch and mot about
extra NFL playoff games. The hells are wrong, but you're right.
It also stops from two teams getting a bye week.
Now it's we're going to be the number one seed.
You know, I'm anti bye week. I'll add one more team,
eight teams in there and they'll have no bye weeks um,
which is which is what I want. But that that's
the real that's the thing. That UM is on the

(43:56):
plus side for me. Okay, so you got a couple
of blowouts, big deal, move on, Stop crying about it.
For crying out loud. I mean, if you want to complaint, Oh, well,
these seven versus one matchups weren't all that great to
what I say, one, I'm sorry seven to thank you.
The four or five game was incredible today between the
Niners and the Cowboys. The four or five game between

(44:18):
the Raiders and the Bengals was something else. Your three
six matchup between the Bills and the Patriots was that
absolute vote race as well. So I mean, what do
you want? Well, in college basketball, the number one of
the sixteen seeds rarely it's even closed. We've only had
one upset, but we love it anyway, So um considered
something like that. Then I guess, all right, let's real

(44:40):
quick before we get back to Twitter and the complaints
and again be mad. That's fine. I'm not questioning your fandom.
I'm just saying it's it's gonna be okay. We're getting
we're getting more football, more teams get a chance to
get in. It's great. I do I I do question
a lot of people's fandom. By the way, the trash
dot d cowboy fans were through weren't just strictly at

(45:01):
the officials. I saw one. I guess there's a picture
of one water bottle. I'm going to hit a cowboy.
I think it was Ce Lham. I'm not sure who
it was out there. Well, I get I just I
think they were trying to hit officials. I'm going to
give Cowboy fans a benefit of the doubt. You're right. Uh,
there's a few videos with them hitting fan. But Dak
Prescott are throwing a fan throwing at players. But Dak

(45:21):
Prescott talked about that already, miss press or question is
what you think about the fans going stuff on the field. No,
I didn't see that. That's sad. I mean you're talking
about a team. You're talking about men that come out
each and every day of their lives and give everything
to the sport. Um, give everything to this game of football. Um,

(45:42):
nobody wants to succeed more than we want to succeed.
Understand fans and the word fan for fanatic, I get that,
But to know everything that we put into this day
in and day out, try our hardest. Um, nobody comes
in in the game, want I expecting expecting to lose.
And UM for for people to react that way when
you're supposed to be a supporters to credit then, So again,

(46:10):
I know that's a little bit muffled audio with with
uh with the Mike's not necessarily being right in front
of reporters. But when they said they don't think they
would throw them at the players that are throwing them at,
the fancy goes oh as well, well good for them,
then well, okay, speak up now forever hold your piece.
Was there a problem with do you think there was
a problem at the end? Um with the way the
officiated should have marketed sooner um or because of that

(46:34):
back judge official or whatever you want. It was the
artificial judge what he was, but he was twenty five
yards away. What do you want that's so far away?
That's what he's supposed to be. Positive it was the
umpire And that was exactly one of the questions from
the pool reporter. If people don't know the system. Literally,
one guy from the Pro Football Writers is and this

(46:56):
happened last night, is selected to be able to speak
only one to the referee at the end of the game,
and his question was, first off about the spot quote,
the umpire spotted the ball properly. Well, what about how
far he was from the play? Yes, absolutely, that was
a reasonable length. Well what about the ending? Did you
go to in house replay team did you get advice

(47:17):
from No? It was us just discussing it on the field.
What about collusion between a player and umpire because we
had that run in with the center. It looks no, No,
the umpire was simply spotting the ball properly collided with
the players as he was setting the ball because he
was moving it to the proper spot and the distance.

(47:38):
What you asked was asked a second time and he
points out, and it's a good point. As an official,
we're trailing the play, we have to keep proper distance
so we can identify any fouls on the play. Once
it's over, the umpire immediately goes to the spot. But
what you're missing out is when the official got there
to remarket the ball was not snapped, so wasn't like

(48:00):
he was costing him any time. They were still getting
ready to snap the ball, so he got there in
time to bend down and grab the ball before it
was not. The problem is the Cowboys offense, any offense
and other people from other teams have tweeted this, don't
you practice this. You have to give the ball to
the official. I mean one of the famous things Peyton
Manning would always say is never toss the ball to

(48:21):
the official. They can't catch hand it to them. Here,
they took it. This Dallas offense took it upon themselves
to spot it and try and snap it quickly to
clock the ball. You can't do that. And as Romo
properly pointed out after the game immediately that it's the
rules that the umpire has to spot the ball even
if he just taps it. No self marketing. It doesn't

(48:42):
work that well. Imagine if they tossed it to him
and he fumbled it. Well, Larry Fitzgerald was always great
and running and giving the ball right to the line
one of his great things that he would do. And
I'll tell you what I that was something It seems
so obvious right that the fish last to touch at first,

(49:03):
but usually the dude is right there on top of it.
I've never seen an official umpire line judge, whatever responsibility,
whosever responsibility it is, crash into players to try to snap.
That was the first for me, exactly. They were so
ready to snap and clock the ball, there was no
room on the line to get through. Remember the umpires

(49:24):
behind these days. There was also the question about the
New York Office, could they be involved in this situation
At the end you said you just debated among the
field officials and then said that's game. They said, well, yeah,
there could be a replay review triggered if it what
had to do with did they get the line to game?
But that wasn't the case here, So I have a

(49:44):
dumb question. Then, just just as a sidebar to all
of this, I'm sidebaring a lot tonight. You have this
extra official right that in NFL, and I'm sure it's
a it's a bunch of people that fixed things now
before they even go to replay, right, and you had
it in the Raiders Goolds game they called it incomplete
pass and before anyone could challenge it in New York

(50:05):
is like no, no, no, you messed this side Also,
this is the advantage of the playoffs, right, You have
guys that have been refs during the regular season are
there with jackets on on the sidelines, not part of
the regular crew, trying to help things smooth things along.
So I guess my question is why why when you
say we just talked to the field, we didn't have to.

(50:25):
Maybe that's why it was so quick because they had
or they were watching like, no, you got it right.
They didn't let us touch the ball, whatever, they get
it right. They did get it right. I'm not arguing
that aren't. Just my point is, which was so quick
at the end. Maybe that was one of the reasons
why even though they said they didn't hear from anyone
that said, hey, we need to look at this or
anything of that nature, because they know they have that

(50:47):
extra I and what two officials now on the sidelines
with the coaches as well to extra Yeah, the coaches.
You can recognize some of the faces when they show
sidelines show. Oh wait a minute, that guy was a
referee in games I saw a regular season, But no,
he's not working this game officially. It's not his crew.
Well actually it's all Star crew. It's not him as
a referee in this game, not in a stripe. So

(51:08):
maybe that was for those that are upset like I
was about. Man, it seemed like they just raced off
the field pretty quick. But they must have obviously felt
really confident about it, and then the end they got
it right. I just to me, it's always kind of
a bad look when you do that. Put it this way,
if Dallas is able to clock the ball, then they
have what a snap from the twenty five yard line
and they still, you know, they still need the touchdown

(51:31):
to win. If that's the case, why don't you just
run less deck making a five yard game instead? And
that's what Tony Romo sat. He said, it's supposed to
be a tin yard run and then you get down
and you spike it. But he ended up getting like
fifteen sixteen yards out of it, and to ruin the
timing event. Was everybody lined up with you or the
wide receivers lined up? I don't. I don't know a
good question. I don't know. I mean because we had

(51:53):
wasn't it Trent Williams the other way right before that,
when when the Niners were gonna essentially win the game
and end it right there, and then you had the
flag on the faster Oh I guess it's not over. Yes, right.
I had turned the radio off. I I was running
an air and I tried like, oh, well they screwed
up there at the end. Cowboys won the game? Are
Niners won the game? Samuel got the first down and
from my walk from my car inside the house, I

(52:15):
was like, why are the Cowboys getting a football back?
Literally had to go rewind to watch that whole crazy
scenario and that was so bogus. They were given him
every chance. Ask Mr Oklahoma, since you brought it up
this segment with mid February being the Super Bowl date
in Los Angeles. I've looked up the Oklahoma softball schedule.
Five games in southern California to start their season, but

(52:38):
one game is listed for Super Bowl Sunday afternoon. Early.
Oh it's early. It's early, is my understanding? So okay?
Because this list at one pm? Is that one pm local?
Yes it is. You're not here for kickoffs, that's right.
It's one pm Central time, so that'd be eleven a
m your time. Then whatever my uber drive would be

(52:58):
to the studio, So well be well, you're like sixty
minute sixty miles away because it's not an l A game.
But that's assuming no traffic. Maybe on Super Bowl there
will be no traffic. There's never any traffic on Sundays
in l A. Okay, I'll um one one quick note
from Jerry Jones. Here here was the Cowboys general manager

(53:18):
talking about his team, and I think more than anything,
his frustration after night. Kind of tough audio, but here
it is, Well, I think this is a time that
when you get this combination of players together. You need
to have success because we all know how it goes
in the NFL. The whole thing is set out take
away from the best and then to the ones that

(53:39):
need improvement. And personnel wise, I think we have the best.
Personnel wise, I think we have the best. And then
real quick, Mike McCarthy onto the draw play that ended
the game called fresholds and you know, filled position, what
your line you're at, and which we're trying to get
to too, based on your defensive they're they're playing, they're
in a sideline defense that they were protecting the sidelines,
and so that was the best option to be able

(54:00):
to get the ball. I mean, it's it's like anything
else you do. You want to be running a Heil
Mary played from the fifth year lader, you want to
be running five verticals from the twenty five yard. So
that's the decision. It's the right decision, you know, It's
just like anything. It's the execution between us and the
OFFICIATI spotting the ball obviously wasn't into it wasn't you know,
we shouldn't have had any problem in the ball spotted there.
That's you're looking for. Yeah, we shouldn't have had any

(54:22):
problem spotting the ball there playing for you know, admit
that you're a screwed up man. Really, that was horrible,
absolutely horrible call. And I can't believe it went up
the chain of command and everybody said, okay, let's do it.
From the offensive coordinator to the coach to Dak Prescott.
Everybody was on on on board on that one. That's crazy.

(54:43):
Oh and by the way, um I said it, at
least someone was paying attention, uh snake from all the
New York Oh, he's gone. I'm gonna pull an Larady
span you're here. I guarantee Mike McCarthy has gone. Snake
caught it. E's on wreck. It's in a tweak. It's happened, tweet,
It's happening our tweak. A couple of other quick ones.

(55:05):
Because I brought up with Nick Sirianni, Uh novenae rights.
Artie Plank is dead wrong on Sirianni. He doesn't have
a quarterback. Well, I've disagree because everyone is telling me
how great Jalen hurts his whenever I questioned him as
an NFL quarterback. So apparently he has a quarterback. I

(55:28):
don't think he does. I agree with you on that front.
Nine and eight without a quarterback? Well, I think the
New Orleans Saints went nine and eight without a quarterback, Arnie.
They had Ian Book and Trevor Simeon and Taysom Hill.
They had four quarterbacks right at one point this year? Hell,
they won a game when they who who the the Why?

(55:49):
Am I blanking on the Gardner Minshew started a game
and they won a game this year? I mean I
just I just I and then Lou Wrights. Jalen Hurts
is very much in demand by fans fantasy footballers in particular,
because he runs so much and that's piles up fantasy point.
Anti Jalen, I'm not sure that I think you're a
little too hard on him, especially for what he's accomplished

(56:10):
this year. Chris, are you gonna let loose finish his tweet?
Are you just gonna trample all over it? I'm sorry. Uh,
He's a mediocre passer at best, but who cares as
long as he gets double digit fantasy point? The great
thing about Jalen Hurts is I that dry to get
better is there, and every year he incrementally improves where

(56:33):
he needs to get better. He went from being uh
bad passer at times in Alabama to a more consistent,
um better, more accurate passer at Oklahoma. He's a better
quarterback today than he was in year one at alt
at at Philadelphia. But he is not your dude to

(56:53):
hitch the wagons. He deserves another year more so than
let's say to it doesn't Miami so at who was
getting another year in Miami. So I think Jalen Hurts
earned his his another year in Phildelph. You're no doubt
about that. Well, you would have given a lifelong contract
to Taysom Hill too. So are you allowing your love
for fullbacks and also played quarterback to kind of shade

(57:15):
your vision here a little bit? Yeah, my man, TI
taste him now I have to go. You just it's
not even like a slight turn. Well, you know, he's
kind of had a tough run. We'll see how he does. No, no, no,
you go from that's my franchise guy to he sucks.
He needs to be bitched. He shouldn't be in the NFL.
I don't have a lot of time. Yeah, I don't
have a lot of towerance. I I make the move,
I make the hook that's for sure. Tweets are great tonight.

(57:38):
We're gonna live on and for the most of the show.
But when we come back, Todd Ferman is gonna join us.
He's gonna be live and vague. Have we taken our
first break of this hour yet? So, Todd Ferman coming
up here in just a bit more of your tweets
and tons of postgame audio right around the corner here
on a Fox Football Sunday. It is Arnie and Plank

(57:58):
on a Super wild Card weekend. I'm I'm still cracking up.
I'm watching the highlights of the final minute of the
Cowboys game, and you know it's from the Boise State
play that they used against Oklahoma and in the Fiesta
Bowl many many years ago. Aren't that helped with the
Cowboys in position to to try to at least throw

(58:21):
it at the end zone, to going back the fourth
and short go for it when Deebo Samuel was just short,
and the offensive line movement that gave d Alice another chance,
then of course the wild dash at the end of
this game. Listen, I I'm not trying to tell you
that every single game this weekend, or every game in
any sport in the posting is gonna his season is
gonna be amazing. But that was awesome. I mean, want

(58:44):
to finish to that game today, right, it did? I
mean we had two exciting yeah, two exciting games, and
um yeah, I was hoping that they were gonna put
it in. I was hoping to either the Raiders or
the Cowboys, we're gonna put it in and we're gonna
get a little overtime, and they just came up short.
Tim kind of takes to the task over something like that.
Because we're debating, you know a lot of people saying,
well there we're blowout, said, uh, we should go back

(59:05):
to the old way. We don't need the extra football.
TIMPs is just because it's extra football. We should be happy.
Please stop the purposes to reward great play. Pittsburgh had
no outstanding played this year, nor did Philly love your show.
But you're wrong on the topic. I guess I must
watch all Pro games. Why it's football. I think there's
a difference, you dope, between the Pro Bowl and a

(59:26):
playoff game, like, well, there's a major difference between an exhibition.
These are the playoffs. What is your problem? You're getting
one extra team in and the one seat is rewarded.
This is fantastic and it's Todd Ferman joins us from Vegas. Todd,
it's another game to bet on. So it's a beautiful

(59:47):
thing with the seventh playoff team. It is definitely the case,
but I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Both the Eagles
and the Steelers both think and I think the NFL
world would have been blessed if we had the Chargers
of the seventh team in the a f C and
Vikings in the NFC. But that's not how the way
things work out. And to your point, it provides the
ultimate reward for teams that go through the regular season.

(01:00:08):
It creates more meaningful football games in week seventeen and eighteen,
and giving that number one seed in vulture respective conferences
home field throughout is something that you can't put a
price on. Todd, the Bills, the Bengals, Kansas City, Tampa, Um,
you would think that the book's got clabbered this weekend.
Everybody was on those teams. You know. It wasn't the
best date of affairs for the books, no doubt about it.

(01:00:28):
When you look at some of the favorites that came home,
all with pretty easy margins with the Raiders and Bengals
kind of being the lone exception, but five out of
six favorites by my count, we're all able to cash.
We've seen this, you know, wild card route in the past,
where underdogs typically we're the way to go about it.
Games a little bit higher scoring than I think and
some people anticipated. But here we are with five games

(01:00:50):
in the books, and you know, sports books can't complain
too much about it. They would have loved an outright
upset for maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers or of course the
Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately that wasn't going to be the case.
So you had a lot of money line parley, liability
teasers and what have you. Yeah, what was your take
on the end? Then, speaking of that in a game
that was fascinating to me, the Niners beating the Cowboys, Todd,

(01:01:12):
what was your take on the final minute of that game?
Rather unorthodox in a variety of different ways, And that
might be the most diplomatic way to try and put it.
From the forty Niners trying to get too cute using
additional motion rather than just running a quarterback sneak to
try and secure victory after they had to respot the
ball with the challenge that came in from New York,
and then of course the choice defensively to just give

(01:01:35):
the Cowboys forty yards before Dallas felt that that had
been too generous and they were going to give the
game away at the end. I have no problem with
the play call as long as Dad has a better
idea of time management in his head, knowing pick up
ten yards, flide down and allow the ref to reset
it to you at least get one crack to the
end zone. Just a comedy of airs and kind of
a microcosm of what we've seen through too these seasons

(01:01:55):
with Mike McCarthy at the home Boy. The officiating was
atrocious between indavertent whistles in the Raiders game and I'm
glad they let that be a touch shot. I don't.
I don't think it affected anything. I would have hated
for them to take that off the board. Thodd Yeah,
I mean it's always tough because all the players are
trained as soon as you hear the whistle to ease up. Now,
do I think Travon Mooring makes the play? Probably not,

(01:02:16):
But given the sensitivity we've seen too late hits, especially
with quarterbacks, you can understand that as soon as you
hear that whistle, your initial instinct is to stop. I
don't like how the NFL handled it, and you had
official saying no, that wasn't an inadvertent whistle during the
course of play. Anybody who watched in real time, unless
the video we saw on our screens wasn't exactly linked
to the sound, there's no doubt in my mind that

(01:02:38):
that whistle was blown before the ball was landed in
Tee higgins hands and they got a pivot touchdown to
find a little bit of separation. Yeah, And it was
interesting to me because no one on the broadcast and
noticed it until like five minutes later they had to
come back from a commercial break and laid out. So
that that leads me to I don't know if this
is an angle that you dig into. How much do
you pay attention who is or is not officiating a game?

(01:03:00):
And how challenging is it with these quote unquote All
Star cruise during the postseason. Yeah, I think it balances out,
you know, recreational betters and if you sit in the
echo chamber that is social media on the course of
game day, people are gonna bitch and moan. They're gonna
look for anybody to blame but their own intuition or
research when it comes to winning or losing bets. I
think it's frustrating and annoying, more so to the fan

(01:03:21):
than anything else. But I don't really put a ton
of stock in terms of my handicapping with NFL officiating.
It is a much different thought process, though, than when
you're looking at bet Major League Baseball and you know
a certain umpire is going to be behind home plate
and may gravitate towards a wider or a smaller strike zone.
Obviously has major ramifications and impacts on how you go
about betting totals, And obviously, when you're betting NBA games,

(01:03:44):
you kind of have an idea of the way series
is are going to go when the NBA calls in
their primary henchmen and Scott Foster Todd next week's lines
came out. Anything that sticks out When you first saw
the lines, I was surprised that they have two games
under three. I'm like, wow, a lot of respect for
for Cincinnati. Yeah, that number has six since corrected itself.
I think book gave a little bit too much respect

(01:04:06):
to the Bengals, and that's the only bet I made Initially.
I actually laid a cheap money line with the Tennessee
Titans at minus a dollar forty. I think when we
wake up tomorrow morning, you're going to be looking at
the Titans a three and a half point favorite in
this particular football game. Oddsmakers, in my opinion, didn't account
for the banged up players on that Cincinnati defense. They
lost two defensive tackles in the game against the Las

(01:04:26):
Vegas Raiders, and Trey Hendrickson I expect him to play,
but still has to clear concussion protocol. If you're down
those key cogs. I think it creates a nightmare scenario
for a Tennessee team that's going to be able to
run the football behind a healthy Derrick Henry and operate
off of play action. Uh. Combined with the fact that
this is still a Bengals offensive line that in my opinion,
we'll get tested a lot more by the Titans than

(01:04:47):
they did this past week. UH. And as far as
Buffalo in Kansas City, to your point, Aarnie, I think
a lot of people are surprised see the Chiefs open
it under a field goal, but it's a respect to
a Bill's offense that's clicking on all cylinders, and you
do wonder if this team is able to get over
the hump and replicate the performance that we saw earlier
this season on Sunday Night Football. But that clearly, in
my opinion, is the most intriguing game. I'm glad it's

(01:05:09):
the final contest on Sunday because it feels like we
get the JV in the a f C between Cince
and Tennessee and the varsity will close things out. Not
to sell that San Francisco Green Bay game short, but
of course you're gonna want to pay attention to the
injury reports and see if Fred Warner and Nick Bosa
are both available to go. If they are, I think
the forty Niners can be live underdogs, although they've been
putting the worst travel situation on a short week, making

(01:05:31):
their second trip across two time zones. Will see the
level of physicality they can impose. Todd final thought, I
know we're keeping you long, but since your boots are
on the ground in Vegas, I know it's less than
twenty four hours now, but what is the buzz? Are
we gonna see some hardball talk? Are we gonna see
maybe Mark Davis really trying to swing for the finch.
Is what's kind of the feeling you get on the

(01:05:52):
future of the Vegas Raiders. Yeah, so without anything any
inside sources, uh, and you know, I don't talk to
anybody in the front office on a regular basis or
anything along those lines. My feeling is that we've seen
Rick Bessaccia coaches last game as head coach of the Raiders.
It's been a great story and he deserves a ton
of credit. But if you're the Raiders and you're serious
about moving forward, I think you have to go out
and get the proper coaching higher and at the same

(01:06:14):
time figure out what you're going to do at the
quarterback position, because we've seen time and time again guys,
if you don't have an elite quarterback and you're going
to pay elite money, it really handcuffs you everywhere else
on the roster. And I'm probably a much bigger Derek
car fan than most. It's going to be a question
of how much money he's going to want from the
Raiders organization if they meet his request or decide to
break it all down, build back again and try and

(01:06:36):
go in a different direction with a new head coach
and a new general manager. You know, I just asked
Plank this, who gets the side, who the new quarterback is,
Who gets to the side, Who the quarterback is? Uh,
the owner or the new coach? Well, I mean, I
think it's something that you have to do in a
timely manner. We see often times that general managers and
head coaches come in with the personnel already predetermined. But

(01:06:56):
I think you have to get your general manager in place,
then you figure out who your head coach is, and
then you assess free agency and what you're gonna do
at the quarterback position, because otherwise you set up an
acrimonious environment where all pieces aren't pulling in the same direction,
and if everybody can't be on the same page as
far as the direction the organization wants to go, it's
a no win situation. We've seen it time and time

(01:07:17):
again across the National Football League, and I just don't
quite think it's the kind of scenario that allows you
to build a winning culture. I don't think you can
afford to rebuild in Vegas either, or that will be
a home field advantage for visiting teams forever. Todd you're
the man. Have a great week and we'll talk to
you next Sunday night. Always a pleasure, gentleman. Always great
catching up and look forward to breaking down the games
the same time next week. And we know who the

(01:07:38):
four combatants will be to get to Los Angeles Rams
Cardinals on Monday night. All right, good stuff. Todd Fermant
at Todd Fermant on Twitter and of course the Bet
the Board podcast. All right, running a little bit later,
Man Steven Seger in the house to get us caught
up on everything from today. What's going on? See three games,
three wins to advance in the NFL playoffs, victories by

(01:07:58):
Kansas City, San Francisco, Go, and Tampa Bay. That San
Francisco in was at Dallas. We've talked about yet again,
confusion on the Cowboys sidelines today, not just at the
end of the game, but as far as that and
the time running out on them. They lost at home
twenty three seventeen to the Niners. Michael Silver, who used
to be with NFL Network for years, says I'm told

(01:08:18):
offensive coordinator Kellen Moore of the Cowboys called the quarterback
run and head coach Mike McCarthy was on the headset
to Okay, it not either's finest hour end quote. But
let's not forget the confusion on the Cowboys sidelines early
fourth quarter today when they were down twenty three seven
and they ran the fake punt and it worked, and

(01:08:41):
then they hustle up to the line and then wait
a minute, we don't have the offense on the field.
This is how it sounded on CBS. Are they gonna
fake in a gay? Look at this? They keep the
unit out there. I would get you to take a
time out of seen this. They're trying to get the
defense just to steal time out, Tony. I'm doing that
because once the offense did run on the field, they

(01:09:03):
got called for delay of game. Thet thing. I don't
know what the hell they were again, maybe Romo doesn't
know everything. Either way, that was, well, we have a
lot of ammunition at this point, don't you know. I
don't know that. Actually, I'm sure he doesn't. He doesn't
even know that stop it. But did you see that

(01:09:24):
that's not In the fourth quarter, early fourth quarter and
late fourth quarter, we had similar what is going on
with this offense moments for the Dallas Cowboys. Well, tonight
we had a Kansas City win over Pittsburgh, not unexpected one.
The final Patrick mahomes with five touchdown passes. He was
thirty of thirty nine four hundred four yards one interception.

(01:09:45):
A p says the Chiefs. You know, they were shut
out in the first quarter tonight and still scored over
forty points. The last team to do that in a
playoff game the Chiefs two years ago. They got shut
out in the first quarter against the Texans and still
scored over fifty in that game. But by the way,
last to add on the Cowboys, they did commit fourteen penalties.
Complain about the refs. All you wish fourteen penalties, ladies

(01:10:08):
and gentlemen, And so they're not even going to get
to the divisional round this time. And the Cowboys, right,
they have still not won a divisional playoff game since
the mid nineties, their last Super Bowl run when they
had Troy Aikman. So we'll tack on another year to
that streak. The other game was Tampa Bay beating Philadelphia
thirty one fifteen. Bucks led thirty one nothing in the

(01:10:30):
third quarter. Miles Sanders did play seven carries sixteen yards.
He played three weeks after hand surgery. But it was
the night game Kansas City that was getting the attention
because what they did mid game five touchdowns in about
twelve minutes, the last six minutes of the first half,
the first six minutes of the second half. So now

(01:10:52):
we're gonna see what Buffalo did last night against the
offense of what Kansas City did tonight. It's Kansas City
hosting Buffalo next Monday, six thirty pm Eastern Times. There
was actually, at one point against Pittsburgh tonight seven punts
in one quarter. The Elia stat people said the last
time in a playoff game, it was five years ago
you had that many punts in a single playoff quarter,

(01:11:14):
and that was when it was the Raiders and Connor
Cook against the Texans and Brockos. It's a little bit different.
Our quarterback matchup next week is Patrick Mahomes and Josh
Allen and they're both coming off five touchdown pass games.
That has never been the case in any playoff matchup
in NFL history. If you didn't hear us earlier. Pass

(01:11:34):
along the entire divisional playoff schedule, Fox is gonna have
the Saturday night game with topsy Green Bay hosting the
forty nine Ers Saturday, eight pm Eastern time. The day
game before that Saturday is Cincinnati at Tennessee. We still
got one game tomorrow night to finish up the wild
Card round, Arizona at the Rams. The winner of that
game will go to Tampa Bay and play Sunday three

(01:11:56):
pm Eastern Time. There is no morning game Pacific time
anymore for the rest of this postseason three pm Eastern
next Sunday, and then we get rid of the traditional
Sunday night time slot as well. That Bills at Kansas
City is six thirty pm Eastern Time next Sunday night
and San Francisco advancing. By the way, I gotta mention

(01:12:18):
Robbie Gold not only the three field goals to from
great distance in the first half and they wind up
winning by six, he still hasn't missed a playoff field goal.
And this is a guy who was a Super Bowl
kicker fifteen years ago for the Bears. And yeah, exactly
like the Bears could ever use a kicker. Robbie Gold
the career leader for made field goals in the postseason

(01:12:39):
without missing eighteen for eighteen in the NBA, the Nets
Kevin Durant out indefinitely with a sprained mc L back
to you, thanks Steve, and by the way, not I
think that sounds like I was celebrating Kevin Durant's injury.
Bad news for that, Thank you, Steve. He'll rejoin us
coming up here in just a couple of minutes. Are
you surprised at some of the numbers in the opening weekend?

(01:13:01):
You mentioned the Bengals how weird opened and weird is
now what do you say about three and a half
right now? The Titans are favored and expect that maybe
to stay right about There was anything in those opening
lines that surprised you. Chiefs the three point favorite nine
ors four and a half point dog to the Packers
right now? Kansas City opening up as only a two
point favorite over Buffalo. Um. A lot of respect for

(01:13:21):
the Buffalo Bills. I mean, I know they look great. Uh.
I thought that the Patriots were frauds anyway, so and
the Chiefs looked great. But Pittsburgh was a bigger fraud
than the Patriots. Where so it's gonna be a titantic
match up there. But that was a small line two points. Um,
you think Kansas City, just on home field advantage alone,
is a four point favorite. Over the Buffalo Bills, so

(01:13:42):
that that kind of shocked me. Mahomes, by the way,
tonight has surpassed Peyton Manning, Dan Marino and Joe Montana
as the quarterback with the most four hundred yard passing
five past touchdown games in NFL history. Who who pass them?
Including the playoffs? My homes patching Mahomes did. Tonight was

(01:14:04):
his fourth game with four hundred plus passing yards and
five touchdowns four times in seventy two career starts. Peyton
Manning did it three times in two hundred and ninety
two career starts, three times for Marino and to and
only three times for Joe Montana and a hundred and
the brothers couldn't do any better for him. Come on now,
don't think so, don't think so? All right, when we

(01:14:27):
come back, Arnie a Plank on a Fox Football Sunday
to Sagar is gonna go in depth and all the numbers,
more of your tweets, and after Super wild Card weekend,
we know this. It's all coming up on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, it's Annie and Plank all the electric fields
here a Fox Sports Radio Steve de Seger to wrap
up our number two on the final night for a
big bin in the final days of the seasons for

(01:14:50):
the Eagles, the Steelers, the Cowboys, and of course the
Raiders and the Patriots yesterday and for one more team
tomorrow night. So we still have one game to go
to finish up the wild card round, Arizona at the
Rams eight pm Eastern Time. Kyler Murray with his postseason debut.
Will Matthew Stafford get His first postseason victory was oh

(01:15:11):
and three with Detroit in twelve previous seasons there, So
that's the matchup. It's just that neither of these teams
was great in the second half. There's just no other
way to put it. Let's put it plainly. They just
weren't even close to what they were half the whole year.
He would have won the m v P. Relax, everybody,
I'm not him, the teams, I mean the Rams. No,

(01:15:34):
it has nothing to with Stafford. The Rams as a team,
they started the season seven and one, rest of the
season five and four and the four losses were against
Tennessee at Green Bay twice against San Francisco. So when
they played playoff teams, very bad results. And the Rams
are gonna have to play Eric Weddle at safety tomorrow night,
a guy who's been retired for two years because they

(01:15:56):
have two injuries at safety. So yeah, they have Cooper
Cup unanimous All Pro and Aaron Donald unanimous All Pro.
But the second half Rams are not the first half Rams.
We having genius. By the way, I don't know, uh well,
he got out coached by the real genius in that
Super Bowl against New England. Let's recall that Cardinals running
back James Conner with the rib injury, was able to

(01:16:17):
practice yesterday, so we're assuming we'll see him. But the Cardinals,
they started seven and oh this year, beat Tennessee, beat
the Rams convincingly in l A first half of the season,
but Arizona the rest of the season four and six.
They did win at San Francisco, they did win at Dallas,
but they lost it home to the Rams, lost at
home to Green Bay. And the biggest difference, of course,

(01:16:37):
in the Cardinals season, they don't have wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins,
still out surgery with the torn mc L. So the
funny thing is is Tennessee Ryan Tannehill's second half of
the season is a stark difference to the first half
because he didn't have Derrick Henry in his offense, and
yet Tennessee winds up top seed in the conference. Cardinals

(01:16:58):
go in the tank four and six down the stretch,
but they do wind up in the playoffs. It will
be a Rams home game because the Rams are NFC
West champs. They won the division by a game over
Arizona because remember each team lost last Sunday. But just
ond how it turns out. You remember when Kurt Warner
was Cardinals quarterback and they made the Super Bowl, one
of the thrilling super Bowls of the last twenty years.

(01:17:19):
That's almost fifteen years ago. Now, I know Kurt Warner
did get a playoff win in overtime the very next year,
but the last ten twelve years, the Cardinal franchise has
one playoff victory. So here's a chance at the Rams
tomorrow night. I will say with the ratings were on
a holiday weekend, so we won't find out things for
a few days. But we had the Dallas Cowboys a

(01:17:40):
ratings bonanza, a cash cow in the ratings department in
the late afternoon slot for a Sunday, So this is
gonna be a huge number fort plus. It was a
close game, On top of that, the College championship game,
just by comparison, got twenty two million viewers for Georgia
beating Alabama. It's possible that every pro game gets at

(01:18:02):
least twenty two million viewers this week. Shouldn't they get
more than that? You made it sound like they were
going to reach that. Now I'm saying even the bad
games this weekend. Any NFL game this weekend could outrate
the College championship game. What is? What do you think? Massive?
Way more than two? Yeah, I don't know. It was

(01:18:26):
Super Bowl numbers. I mean, you tell me it's it's
gonna be ridiculous super Bowl for a first round game.
It's gonna be silly. Yeah, thirty five forty million maybe more? Yeah,
just like this and this is you know, ratings, good
ratings for every game this weekend. And not every game

(01:18:47):
was good this weekend. Let's be honest. Tampa Bay was
up thirty one nothing and then beat Philadelphia. Kansas City
was up tonight thirty five seven against the Steelers mid
third quarter, such a blowout that there was a note
from AP that we had a Travis Kelsey touchdown pass.
If you look at the three other a f C
West teams that Kansas City plays every year. Those three

(01:19:09):
teams in their division have one touchdown pass combined in
the last three postseasons. Kelsey by himself has a touchdown pass.
This was the first tight end to throw a touchdown
pass since the Philly special Trey Burton to Nick Foles.
According to and we did have a Tyreek Hill siting tonight.

(01:19:31):
The wide receiver did return from last week's sore heel.
He had practiced all weeks. He had a touchdown in
this high scoring game. As far as the running backs,
Clyde Edwards A Laire was still out shoulder injury, missing
a third straight game for the Chiefs. So you had
Jerick McKinnon on only twelve carries sixty one yards rushing,
plus he had six receptions for eighty one yards and
a touchdown. Complete blowout. I mentioned all the touchdowns mid game.

(01:19:55):
Kelsey wound up with over a hundred yards receiving and
a touchdown reception as well. Unbelievable, Steve, you're the man,
and he's got an update coming up in moments. All right,
we got all the post games sound in. We'll hear
from Ben Roethlisberger. The editors behind the scenes are crushing
it tonight, Big Ben, Little Mike Tomlin, little Patrick Mahomes,
and obviously everything from Super wild Card Weekend, plush your tweets,

(01:20:19):
and what we learned after this weekend. It's all coming
up in the final hour of Arnie and Plank on
a busy Sunday night on Fox Sports Radio, I was
jotting our list of things we must get to in
the final hour. We have all the postgame audio we've
got after week Super wild Card Weekend. We still love

(01:20:40):
game tomorrow. We know this. We have a full preview
of the Rams and the Cardinals, we have all of
your tweets to get you, and we have your picks.
Be if I don't know how we're gonna get all
of it, well, I was on fire with my picks.
But uh I saw that Rob Parker went five, and
oh it was. It was a very easy weekend. I'm
not so sure about the over others, but the games were.
Let's see every what so far of the five games

(01:21:02):
that we've had so far, the favorites have covered all
of them, right, No, no, San Francisco, Yeah, that's right.
So you've had four of the five and in San
Francisco was an underdog that I think everyone was on anyway, right, Well,
I mean it was maybe a fifty fifty coin foot,
but everybody was on Tampa, Kansas City, Cincinnati and Buffalo
that that. I do promise you. If only Derek Carr

(01:21:26):
would have waited like one more millisecond and let Darren
Waller get open in the end zone, it could have
made those Bengal better sweat a bit, because I'm pretty
sure the Raiders would have gone for two if they
would have scored a touchdown. But that's just me. No, oh, absolutely,
just one of these points. You got to accept that
I'm kind of right on these things, aren't. You have

(01:21:46):
a pretty good feel for this team. Nobody would have
the guns that well, what did he have to lose?
Outside They're gonna lose the game anyway. He's not gonna
get to be the coach show some cojoness. Yeah, just
go for it with go for it? Why not? I mean,
take your best two point play and go just don't
throw it short of the end zone. Now, um, let's
not focus on Saturday. Let's focus on today. So we'll

(01:22:08):
start this hour as we typically have every single show
here on Fox sports radio during the football season, so
already I'll allow you to go first after Super wild
Card weekend. I know this, all right. I know this,
and I know people are good complaining about it. But
and I'm the first to complain about bad matchups. Um,
I didn't bother me that there was a couple of

(01:22:29):
blowouts that we had the extra team in there. Everybody's like,
let's go back to the old way. This was ridiculous.
The more teams to marry or I hope we get
an eight team in there so nobody has a bye week.
But um, I know that the more teams in the
playoffs the better it is. Just because we had a
couple of blowouts. Um, you know, people want to go
and get rid of that small sample size. But the
more football the better. I'm with you on this one.

(01:22:50):
Chris love it. I love it. It's one more team
and it's kind of wild because I think a couple
of tweeters pointed this out. You know, you you had
Pittsburgh who probably didn't belong but had a few breaks
go their way. But you're telling me if the Chargers
wouldn't have been in the playoffs, they would have been
able to put on a little bit of a better
performance and what the Steelers did, the same thing for

(01:23:11):
the Vikings. I saw a great tweet that said, Pittsburgh
probably wishes that the Raiders would have missed that field goal.
But you know what's funny. You know what's funny, he's
the Raiders would have probably been the ones getting their
ass kick tonight by the Kansas City Chiefs because they
would have been the seven. Then the Chargers, if I
understand it right, would have been the six. So you
would have you would have had New England going to Cincinnati,

(01:23:35):
you would have had the Chargers going to Buffalo, and
you would have the Raiders going to Kansas City if
that game would have been a tie. So I just
this whole idea oh seven team stinks. We don't know.
I'm with Yarnie. I just I love it. Yes, it's
more football. I'm not saying that you should watch it
just because it's football. It's the playoffs and anything can happen.

(01:23:57):
I mean, look at the Cowboys Niners game, all right,
ARENI after a week what would this be nineteen after
a super wild card weekend? I know this. The Niners
are gonna be a problem for the Packers next week. Now,
I don't know about that. I'm telling you, Jimmy G
is gonna have his Jimmy G mistake that nearly cost
the count of the Niners the game today. But with

(01:24:20):
Deebo Samuel, with the way that they were running the
football right now, Mitchell Back, I'm telling you what AREN'TI.
I think they're gonna add history history. The Niners have
gone and ripped the soul from the Packers time after time.
I I would bet the Niners. I love that number.
I think they're gonna scare the hell out of the
Packers next well, and then I'll give you my picks

(01:24:41):
at the end of the hour of a green Bay
though who love green Bay? After wild Card weekend? I
know this, the Patriots were frauds, just like I thought
they were. Congratulations on going ten and seven. I don't
know how you did. It was one of Belichick's finest years,
just even get to that point. And I do like
Mac Jones, but I knew that this t wasn't gonna
go farther. We're gonna be one and done in the playoffs.

(01:25:02):
I'm actually shocked that they did this. Well, this is
really like a seven or eight win team. I don't
know how they got the ten and it's not going
to be that much better for them. You're never gonna
see Bill Belichick win another super Bowl again. He's done
zo with that. You're never gonna see him hoist a
trophy again. But I knew the Patriots were just a
bunch of frauds. You picked him to win five games

(01:25:25):
and they went to the playoffs. I don't think that's frauds. Well,
I again, I have to get my pick somewhat right,
don't I know? You picked them to win five games
and being last place in their division, and they went
to the playoffs. I give him credit and say, okay, yeah,
you at least won ten games. Then I'll give you
credit for that's pretty good mark in the NFL. Al Right,
I'll say this after we are Super wild Card weekend.

(01:25:48):
I know this. We are gonna be some drooling fools
over the Bills this week, right, I mean, this team
is going to get picked by everyone to go to
can A City and upset him. Josh Allen's gonna be
in the spotlight all week long. And I'm just gonna
remind everyone I've seen this movie before. I know how
it ends you don't want to give Kansas City and

(01:26:11):
Mahomes more motivation. But I think it's gonna be out there.
I do think it's gonna be a fun game. On
what do we say that Sunday night, next Sunday afternoon
early evening. But I'll tell you what, this is going
to be a week Carny when we lose our minds
over the Buffalo Bills. Oh yes, I'm all over them.
I'm I wish I was getting three points, but I'm
only gonna get too. I'm okay with that. It's already

(01:26:33):
jumped up to two and a half. We'll see if
it goes up to the magic number of three. What
did I learn after the first week in the wild
card weekend that the Cowboys Geez, no matter how good
of a year Dak Prescott is or has, they're still
the Cowboys. And they lose in the first round. Wow,
I don't even know what they're gonna do next. You
say they're gonna fire their coachy is out. I can't

(01:26:56):
believe that they're gonna do something like that. I think
Jerry is gonna say, why more time, let's bring it
back where it's still the class of their division, though
it's gonna be a little bit harder when Washington, well whatever,
but good trying. You try to build yourself. But yeah,
the Cowboys, I learned that it's the same old Cowboys.

(01:27:19):
Blame the officiating and losing the first round. Okay, I
know this is really getting ahead of myself, but after
Super wild Card weekend I learned this. We are going
to have one heck of an off season in the NFL.
Um It starts with the eight vacancies, which I think
will be nine. It will continue with quarterback talk that

(01:27:42):
will include names like Deshaun Watson, Derek Carr, Brussell Wilson.
Maybe some are I think the Aaron Rodgers saying I
really do think he's coming back to Green Bay, and
I've been pretty staunched that. But we'll see. Well, would
you make this trade in Philadelphia trading their three first
round picks for Deshaun Watson or who picks in Jalen
Hurts for Deshaun Watson. I don't think I want to

(01:28:04):
give up all three for this, Shawn, right, I mean
about two and Jalen Hurts. Two and Jalen Hurts would
get me listening, But I have I mean, is his
legal issue has been settled. I don't know. But if
I in the Texans, I would certainly doing a heartbeat.
If I was in Houston, Texans, I would do that
in a heartbeat. But but you don't like hurt stuff.
So why are you doing that in the heartbeat though?
Because you're getting two first round picks, and you're getting

(01:28:26):
there and you've already got your other first round picks.
You've got a guy that you can throw in there,
and you'd have three first round picks this year. Uh
And I guess what hinz Ward as your head coach potentially, Hell, yeah,
you're doing in a heartbeat. He's gotta get cleared, aren'tie.
I don't know where he stands with the league. I
don't know where he stands legally in Houston. I mean,
they're so far behind in that county where he's being

(01:28:49):
charged and are I shouldn't say being charged, but where
all this is being heard, like they're just now getting through.
It was destroyed in the hurricane. Their records were, so
they're way backed up. I mean, it's dude, I I
don't I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it, but Danny and
I were just talking about it during the break. This
is one of those things where I'm sitting here saying, no, no,
you can't do that. But as soon as the Raiders

(01:29:10):
made it, trade for him, and like, you know what,
I think it's a good trade. I think it's a
good move to go get in the show, had a
year off, his body is refreshed, he's good. I think
it's a good move. But Arty, I'm telling you, this
is gonna be something unlike we've seen. I know. I
feel like I say this every offseason, but coach movement,
quarterback movement, draft picks like crazy. A team has three

(01:29:32):
picks that made the playoffs. I just think we're setting
up for a wild offseason in the NFL. Well, Baker's
coming back. You know he's gonna end up staying in
Cleveland for now. I mean, so you think they may
go back on that, Well, I just I've never really
I don't trust anyone. I succund to h I subscribe
to the d t A theory Arty, which is, don't

(01:29:55):
trust anyone. They say, oh, no, no, he's our quarterback.
That's usually the sentence, right, It's like, oh, he's gonna
be traded, so we'll see Are you cool with them
building around too and not? The quote said that they're
gonna get a coach and they're gonna build around tour.
They're gonna show their commitment to dour right that. Did
I misunderstand that? Or no? No, I just feel like
you hear a lot of things around this time in

(01:30:16):
here that could be viewed as maybe questionable. I don't
know if I'd be wanting to build around too. Oh,
but again, I've lived with Derek Carr for eight years,
so it's to a time. Come on, now, am I
gonna have to live with a full off season of
you picking him to win the m v P and
the Dolphins to go to really tough schedule next year?
Already looked it up. Good. I'm glad you're on that

(01:30:37):
all right? Off Twitter real quick, a Reek writes after
Super wild Card weekend. I know that the Vikings will
f up the GM and coaching hires and we'll suck
again next year. By the way, Nie, By the way,
the Vikings did get a little fun today because the
video of now fired head coach Mike Zim and Rick

(01:31:01):
Spielman went viral of when they were on the clock
and trying to figure out who the Eagles picked, and
they found out that Philly had picked Jalen Reagor, and
they started laughing and said, get the card in for
Justin Jefferson as quick as you can. So gave it
the day that Jalen Reagor had Eric and and Vikings fan.

(01:31:21):
You had a little positivity Minnesota man, Kevin right after
a week that's pretty good after Super wild Card week.
I know this, Russell Wilson to the Vikings and Kirk
Cousins to the Seahawks. Don't you think the conversation with
Russ starts with like three first round picks if you're
the Seahawks, and his age and his money that he's

(01:31:45):
getting in Um, it looks like Seattle does want to
move on past the because I think they do. UM.
They're not letting it on, but they do. I I
can't think they're gonna get that much for him. How
do you think Russell Wilson is thirt easy five thirty three? Arny, Okay,
it's all two years off. I mean quarterbacks are playing
well into their forties. I mean this is I don't

(01:32:09):
if I'm the Seahawks, I don't think my worry is
trying to get rid of Russ. I think I turned
to Russ and I say, all right, what do you need?
What do you what do you think we need? I mean,
I know, ten seasons, it's a long time to be
in one place. It's a team that made the playoffs
last year. You know, it's not they went six and
eight this year, but they were coming off ten and six,
eleven and five and twelve and four. Are not six

(01:32:30):
and eight this year? U six, six and eleven whatever
they were this year. I mean, it's it hasn't been
a bad football team over the last six and eight
in games. He started, I apologize. I'm looking here at Wikipedia,
so I mean, you're not looking at an absolute disaster
of a situation for Seattle. So I don't understand why
they would be wanting to move on from him. Maybe

(01:32:51):
they want to move off from their coach or get
a new coordinator in there. And he hired he picked
a quarterbacks coach for goodness, say it's so funny you're
talking about that. It's not a disaster. But yeah, you
say the Eagles are. I think the Eagles have a
better future. I think the Cowboys have a better future.
The Steelers have a better future, Um, and even the
Patrons have a better future than Seattle right now? Do

(01:33:12):
you think the Eagles have a better future than Seattle
right now? Yeah? You have an aging quarterback in Seattle.
You got a young quarterback in Philadelphia. They went nine
and eight, they over You know, you gotta start, You
gotta start a quarterback to win one game? Who you starting?
Jalen Hurts or Russell Wilson? Where are the Eagles? Right?
We're gonna go to Russell Wilson now, But ask me

(01:33:33):
that in another year or two when Russell's old and
decrepit and Jalen Hurts look pretty when he's thirty five,
which is six years younger than Tom Brady Harty, Do
you think the Eagles are nine and eight of Russell
Wilson's their quarterback as opposed to Jalen Hurts. I'm not
so sure about that. I think they I don't think
there'd be any better if that's what you're asking. My

(01:33:54):
head just exploded. Why would you think they were gonna
win like games to go thirty four? I think with
some of the talent that they have, absolutely, I don't listen.
I don't think the Eagles are good because I think
their coach is a bit of a buffoon, though he
did a nice job this year, and because Jalen Hurts
is inaccurate as a quarter person, they're over under was

(01:34:15):
what coming into into this year? You gotta make me
look this up again? Who cares what it was like?
There was like what six or something like that? So
six and a half? But so was the Bengals. The
Bengals were six and a half? Yes, six and a half.
I've said it like five times to where the hell
was I on that one? As you were saying they
were going to finish last in the division? Is where
you were on that? Be fired for that. I'm just

(01:34:37):
telling you right now, I this whole idea of we
need a trade Russell Wilson, I calm down, man, I
don't think Seattle is in a place where they necessarily
need to go out and rebuild. Everybody wants to fill,
everyone wants to quack. Why does everyone want to rebuild?
Do you know how bad rebuilding sucks as a fan?
Maybe you just haven't experienced in a while. You get

(01:34:58):
your asses kicked every single week you go four and twelve.
You're excited about April, not October in September, other than
Russell Wilson. You could really make a case for all
those teams I want to give her to their quarterbacks,
can't you? I would, Hell, I could have Seahawk fans
and my mentions all night long making the case for
Russell Wilson. I say it a lot on this show.
I think there's maybe three or four teams that are

(01:35:19):
happy with their quarterback and that's it. I think Kansas
City with Patrick Mahomes right, Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers. Though,
you probably find some people that are complaining, Oh he
said too much of a drama, Tampa Bay with Tom Brady.
I mean outside of sports talk Berry, I mean who
who could really complain about that? And what may maybe
Josh Allen with the Buffalo Bills, Burrow Brow with the Bengals.

(01:35:43):
Give me five, I've got five out there outside of
the Cardinals. They're complained about him because he can't stay healthy.
Right you listen to Ben Mallor show. Apparently Kyler Murray
is the shortest person to ever play sports period. By
the way, who who would you want if you're a
Dolpha fan? Jimmy g or to a to a right

(01:36:05):
are you questioning that. No, are You're right? Jimmy G
has no you know, no credit. He's done nothing in
the end Valure, you're the one that's just building up
to and now you're the super Bowl. Like what he's
done in the playoffs. I mean, give the guys up
credit there, Griz. He literally kept the Cowboys in the
game with his bonehead and then the false start when

(01:36:30):
he didn't let everyone get set on fourth down gave
him life. Listen, I'm picking San Francisco to cover next week.
But it's not because I think Jimmy G's the end
all beats. Jimmy G wants to be the starting quarterback
of who next year? The Cleveland Browns. No, he's not
the Cleveland Browns. That's just my prediction. You are being serious.
I was gonna say the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think the

(01:36:54):
Steelers are going to be in the Deshaun Watson conversation,
they very well could be. I think the steel There's
are very much going to give a shot to Um
the two guys they've got Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Asking
I go after Derek car if I was them too.
But I can't playing cold weather can't playing cold weather.
Derek Carr will be successful if he goes somewhere with

(01:37:15):
you know, I'll tell you what I wouldn't sleep on
right now. I wouldn't sleep on Derek car To the Colts,
that's a possibility to I mean, the Colts were tripping
all over themselves to try to get him uh last
year according to reports. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
But you people are like, oh, we gotta get rid
of our quarterback. We've got to go draft a guy.

(01:37:37):
The Justin Herbert's and the Joe Burrows are the unicorns, man.
You know, it just doesn't happen. For every Joe Burrow,
there's like a there's a josh A Rosen that's just
waiting to say, Hey, I'm ready to have you build
around me. Qb one, all this crap stop it. Remember
when I said that if the Dulphins take um uhr,

(01:38:00):
Herbert Herbert, I was gonna quit my job because I
want to and so badly. Remember, yes, I remember that,
But but you know what, I gotta be honest with
the Arny. I don't think there were many that were
disagreeing with you. I think everybody thought that Justin Herbert
was gonna be a big reach to take him out
early by the Chargers, and now he might just be

(01:38:21):
I don't know, the quarterback with the high steps. We
should have gotten him. Come on, alright, so this shows
you here on Fox Sports Radio and just these final
five minutes how crazy this offseason is gonna be. And
I just I can't get enough of it. And we
still have three more rounds in the playoffs slash super
Bowl to go. All right, So when we come back,
let's hit the locker room. What did Mike McCarthy have

(01:38:44):
to say about the botched play at the end of
the game, and Ben Roethlisberger says goodbye as the Chiefs
role the Steelers. It's all coming up on Fox Sports Radio.
Here are your start times, schedule, network all the fun
for next weekends divisional playoff games. It will start on

(01:39:07):
Saturday at four thirty Eastern the Bengals, the four seed
out of the a f C at Tennessee against the Titans.
And then the prime time game. This this game is
going to do crazy numbers. NFC Saturday Night forty Niners
at Green Bay on Fox eight. Kick Dallas one would

(01:39:28):
have been Dallas of Green Bay or no. Um, yeah, yeah,
because they would have played the lowest seeded team left
and that would have been Dallas. UM NFC. Well, hold on,
hold on, no, no, no, I would I am very
much incorrect because Dallas is the four seed, so there
is are the three seed? Excuse me? Right? So tonight
tomorrow night is the four versus the five. So there

(01:39:51):
is a chance that either the Rams or the Cardinals
could have ended up having to go to to San Francisco.
Aren't to Green Bay sr so NFC to day either
the Cardinals or the Rams at Tampa Bay on Sunday,
January three o'clock eastern and then the a f C
matchup that will be wrapping up as soon as it
wraps up at six thirty eastern Buffalo at Kansas City.

(01:40:13):
That's your schedule for next week. And I assumes the
second games always are the big games out there. The
Bill Chiefs, forty Niners, Packers, Um, which one's gonna do better?
But they're gonna do astronomical. It's gonna be great, absolutely huge. Um.
So let's go to the post game press or shall
we listen? This just came across my Twitter timeline though,

(01:40:35):
so can I ask you about it? We were just
talking about quarterbacks and the whole boy. Only a certain
percentage of NFL teams have confidence in their quarterbacks. I
saw this from a man or Tim Condo covers the Cowboys.
He writes, the most penalized team in the NFL cannot
be complaining about Flax. Dallas had the ball with two

(01:40:58):
minutes and fifty one second to go down six, with
three time outs, go and win the game. And what
they do They couldn't do it. They threw up the
fourth and ten pass and couldn't get it done. And
then my man Mr. Fourth and Long retweeted it with this,
You know we're talking about some people question Dak. Still right,

(01:41:19):
they question Dak, he writes, Now, imagine that same scenario
with fifteen twelve or twelve he means Mahomes, Brady or
Rogers the fat Lady would have been like, do re
me fa Solati before their drive even starting. You all
don't confuse really good with elite anymore. There's a difference.

(01:41:41):
So in other words, even Dak Prescott is it immune
from the criticism right now? And I think in a
lot of waysy kind of deserves it. After the end
of that game. Who are we putting the blame on
for that call? Is it? That? Is it? The coach?
Is it? Uh? The offensive coordinator? Who were gonna blame on?
I think all of them? Can I point the finger

(01:42:02):
at them? All? Well, you know who's going to ultimately
pay the price, right, Mike McCarthy, because he's gonna get fired.
There's no way Jerry Jones is gonna let Kellen Moore
get away from him. So you can say blame Dak. Well,
you're already vested twenty plus mill per year in DAK,
So yeah, he can't be McCarthy. Stakes they're gonna fire

(01:42:23):
McCarthy just based on them losing, or based on the
way they lost. I think they're gonna fire McCarthy because
they don't want to risk losing Kellen Moore. And I
think that Dan Quinn's gonna take a job, and I
think Kellen Moore is gonna be a candidate for one,
and I don't think Jerry wants to lose him, and
I think he'd rather elevate Kellen Moore. And given the
team then, I mean, you know what you've got with
Mike McCarthy. Already, this looks like you're ceiling with Mike

(01:42:45):
McCarthy right now. So do you want to go what
what were they? Eleven and six, six, ten and seven,
and when your division but go out in the first
round of the playoffs. No, I don't think you want
to be there. So that's why I think top and
five a crappy division, right with with two teams that
were terrible in Washington and the New York Giants, even

(01:43:05):
though they both beat the Raiders. Um, yeah, no, I
I don't. I think they're gonna let them go. I
really do. All And with that in mind, twelve and five,
where did you get, Jarnie, Well, it did, didn't get it,
didn't get to that first round and win. But damn
they have nobody to play that themselves. The fourteen penalties,
I mean, we can't even say that enough, Chris that

(01:43:26):
and each one just felt like a dagger or was
just going to kill you, you know what I mean. Alright, listen,
I've got to get to this Ben Roethlisberger post game,
little Mike Tomlin as well too. But for one final
time tonight, let's get caught up on everything in the
world of sports with Steve to sake. What's going on Steve.
A lot of football to get too, But first two
other notes, are you aware and most people in the

(01:43:47):
continental US or not? We had the Sony Open in
Hawaii for golf still going on. In a playoff at
DECKI matsu Yama won it. The winner of this event
gets one point three five million dollars for one week
for four days of golf one point three five million,
and I would say, I don't think I'm overstepping my

(01:44:08):
bounds and the landscape of American sports. People were unaware
that this even existed this weekend. Even the seventh place
finisher got about two hundred fifty thousand dollars tonight, the
guy ranked number one in tennis by the way, Novouk
Djokovic was deported from Australia which requires a coded vaccination,
and then he flew to Dubai. Australian opened his underway
without him. Raphael and the doll won his first rounder tonight.

(01:44:30):
Naomi Osaka won her first round American Cocoa Golf, losing
right now, but notable for Djokovic, not just because he's
right number one, but for history. He's He's won nine
Australian Open titles, so that makes it twenty total Grand
slams in his career. He's tied with the doll and
Roger Federer right now for the most in the history
of men's tennis. Now to the NFL stuff is Kansas

(01:44:51):
City dominated Pittsburgh forty two one the final Patrick Mahomes
five touchdown passes. He was thirty of thirty nine through
the year four hundred four yards. He had three touchdown
passes on these three straight drives they scored on late
in the first half, right after Pittsburgh took the seven
nothing lead on the fumble return. In those three drives

(01:45:12):
combined for Casey it was twenty one plays, two hundred
thirty yards in about eight minutes before halftime. This is
the Chiefs team that had just dominated Pittsburgh three weeks ago,
and tonight they were up mid third quarter thirty five seven.
At the time. The Steelers offense on twenty eight plays
had only forty three yards and they were down big time.

(01:45:33):
Steelers as a team, and they had the worst rushing
attack among any of the playoff teams going into this postseason.
As a team, tonight, twenty carries fifty six yards, one fumble.
Ben Roethlisberger did have two touchdown passes in the second half,
but the Steelers only average twenty points a game this year.
Tonight's game is not that much different than a lot
of offensive efforts we've seen from Pittsburgh this season. They're

(01:45:55):
scoring output was worst among any playoff team this year.
So now, Kansas City's won seven straight home games that
included two wins over Pittsburgh as well as beating the
Raiders in Dallas. There and they've got a home game
next Sunday against Buffalo six thirty pm Eastern Times. So
Cincinnati plays at top seeded Tennessee on Saturday for thirty
Eastern time. You mentioned earlier that the Steelers haven't won

(01:46:16):
a playoff game in five years. It's not just that
their defense isn't showing up in any of these. They
gave up forty two and losing to Kansas City tonight.
Last year when they lost to the Browns, they gave
up forty eight. They lost to the Jaguars giving up
forty five a few years ago in a playoff game.
Steelers are the first team to allow at least forty
points in three straight playoff games. What do you say

(01:46:39):
the fire Tom, and I'm saying what wins for Tomlin
and the Steelers. This has proven for many years he's
been there. What fifteen years do any of these things
win the rushing battle, win the turnover battle, or win
time of possession battle. What you need to do, Steelers
front office, is create a raw stir that wins in

(01:47:01):
any of those categories, because it's not just a good
winning percentage, it's a completely dominant winning percentage in the
Tomblin Eira when they do any one of those things
in a given game. This is what we're not seeing
from this team, did not see from this team past
tense and so Patrick Mahomes has now played the Steelers
three times in his career and has fourteen touchdown passes

(01:47:22):
against them in three games. Only George Blanda had done
that against the opponent in three games of of his career.
And Dallas is at lost at home to San Francisco.
It was seven early in the fourth quarter. Robbie Gold
with three key field goals in the first half, two
of them beyond fifty yards, Dallas with fourteen penalties. The

(01:47:42):
running game not there again. The two Cowboys running backs
sixteen carries forty five yards combined and Dak Prescott was
sacked five times, one touchdown pass, one touchdown run, one interception,
and San Francisco scored a touchdown on the next play.
Thank goodness, you gave Zeke all that money too. Yeah. Yeah,
he clearly wasn't himself. I mean, one of the impressive

(01:48:02):
things about Zeke his first couple of years in the
league was that he could bounce up after tackles and
be just as fresh as can be for the next rowd.
It nothing ever seemed to he looked like a young
LaDainian Tomlinson and that was missing this season. So he
says he's not gonna have surgery, but yeah, there was
a knee injury, and an ap did point out that
linebacker Layton vander Esh had his name misspelled on the

(01:48:24):
back of his jersey. It was that way during warmups,
with a couple of letters transposed in the last name.
But he was still wearing the box jersey during the
game as he's in the final year of his rookie contracts.
Who I guess nobody really cared they going to run
out to Dick Sporting Good Jersey have equipment people. I'm

(01:48:46):
sure this could have been taken care of. I gotta
point out San Francisco one a road playoff game where
George Kittle had one reception, So you know this team
could be actually even better, shall we say? Of course,
they're playing at the top seeded team Saturday night on
Fox TV. It's Green Bay hosting San Francisco. And by
the way, the Packers got the one seed instead of

(01:49:08):
Tampa Bay because of a better conference record. This year.
They were both thirteen and four, but Tampa Bay lost
to New Orleans two times and Tampa lost to the Rams.
Green Bay beat the Rams. There's your difference, so Dallas
is out. They had averaged thirty one points a game
this season, best in the league. They only scored seven
points first three quarters of this game today. Notable injuries

(01:49:28):
on defense for San Francisco to look out for this
week Nick Bosa he will be in concussion protocol. Fred
Warner lipped off with an ankle injury. For the Bucks.
Their injury well, of course, they didn't have Leonard Fournette
running back. He was still on injury reserve with the hamstring.
Ronald Jones was still out. They still have the run defense, though,
and they wound up dominating Philadelphia thirty one was the final.

(01:49:50):
The Bucks led thirty one nothing in the third quarter.
There was the all Pro tackle Tristan Worths of the Bucks, though,
who left with the ankle injury. Will keep an eye
on that, but dominance is almost not even a good
enough word. In the first quarter against Philly, Tampa Bay
out gained him a hundred thirty seven yards to seventeen.
It was eleven first downs to one at the time.

(01:50:11):
Monday night matchup Arizona at the Rams. Winner goes to
Tampa next Sunday, three pm Eastern time. College basketball wins
for Villanova and St. John's. NBA wins for Phoenix, but
not Golden State. Steph Curry sat out with a sore hand,
Draymond Green out at least two more weeks with a
bad back, and Minnesota beat the Warriors by twenties, so
Golden State in the standings two and a half games

(01:50:32):
behind the Suns in the West. Kevin Duranta the Nets
out in definitely sprained mc L back to you, thanks, Steve,
have a great week, Bunny, great job tonight. Hit the
post game locker room. Been Mike Tomlin moments ago talking
about Big Ben and he was he was, he was
seven has been an honor and a pleasure. Man, I
don't have the words. I'm sure there'll be a more

(01:50:52):
elongated tribute paid as time Progressive by the Steelers, but
here here was been moments ago. God has blessed me
with an ability to throw football, blessed me to play
in the greatest city in Pittsburgh with the greatest fans
and the greatest football team and players, and it has
just been truly a blessing. And I'm so thankful to
him for the opportunity that that he's given me. And

(01:51:14):
then one more quick from Big Ben on his future
being the husband and father. Never never take a day off.
You've got to keep going, and so um as we
move from one chapter to the next, it's gonna be
it's gonna be different, but it's gonna be fun. It's
me a new challenge and I'm looking forward to it.
And then here's Patrick Mahomes on Roethlisberger. Then Roethlisberger obviously
things like this last game here. I don't know if
you've got a chance to share with him anything after

(01:51:34):
the game, but just the conversations with him with that
and just seeing him go eighteen year veteran go out
with that. Yeah. I mean he's a tremendous player that
I have a ton of respect for the way he
plays a game, the competitor that he is. You can't
take that stuff for granted. I mean, they'll be able
to battle to the very end. Every single year he's won,
he's won Super Bowls. Guy that I've watched growing up.
I have a ton of respect for him. But I
told him is if this is his last game, get

(01:51:56):
it the right way. Everybody knows that, and show him
a ton of respect going out there. Here you go.
So seven's done. Career over for Big Ben. I mean
it was ugly tonight, but uh, not a bad career.
Don't you imagine what when sports talks gonna be like
in twenty years when we're doing it now or we're
gonna be talking about it. There's Tom Brady Jr. Boy,
I remember when his dad was pretty good. And Ben

(01:52:17):
Roethlisberger Jr. And there's Arch Manning, and I can you
imagine twenty years from now Arch Manning will be in
like five years, you'll be talking about him in the NFL.
But no, oh absolutely we will so good finish two well.
Making the playoffs was I think the carrot for the
Steelers Ben Roethlisberger's career is over. Late night Drug Tester

(01:52:40):
just gets in under the wire with maybe the tweet
question of the night and he writes the question is
does Arnie care about his marriage by picking the Chiefs
or will he jinks the Bills and have to move
in with Plank Show Now I'm taken by Bills. I
gotta My wife was so mad at me when I

(01:53:02):
said my Bills, Uh, while watching the games, you wouldn't
watch the game with me? She just not watching the
game with you. Well, she didn't have to watch along
because they pretty much into that one at the end
of the first quarter on Saturday Night. I was incredible,
And I like this from Lefty. Would you respect the
head coaching candidate more if they said during their bye

(01:53:23):
week in the playoffs that they're honored to be considered,
but at this time they would like to focus on
the game ahead and wait until the season is over
to interview for vacancies. Okay, it's a fair question, but
an interviewed doing a week of a game anyway, Well,
he's talking about the bye week. He's talking about during

(01:53:44):
the bye week in the playoffs, Like, for instance, this
week you had Nathaniel Hackett that was interviewing first some
jobs and I think a few other people. You're not
gonna get hired if you don't. I mean, these things
move so quickly, which is why the NFL changed the rule.
Where what was it like week fifteen? I think the
Tuesday after week fifteen you can start interviewing assistance with
other teams. So the NFL is trying to make it easier.

(01:54:06):
But I hear what he's saying, and this is probably
all about the Packers offensive coordinator heading in the next week.
But come on, man, Matt la Fleur calls the plays anyway,
I think they're gonna be good to go against San
Francisco on Saturday night. With that in mind, Artie's picks
coming up next, we'll see which way he's leaning for
Packers Niners, and the Monday night football showed down between

(01:54:27):
the Cardinals and the Ramps. It's all coming up to
wrap up this edition of Artie and Playing on a
Fox Football Sunday final segment, final segment. Sorry, I don't
know what I'm doing Fox Football study. Well. Someone had
asked the question on Twitter. Mr and Mrs Hicks, the

(01:54:48):
quarterback class of two thousand and four. It's crazy to
think they're still around but now retired. Who's next to retire?
And I started thinking maybe maybe the aeron Rogers conversation,
even though I think he's got many years left. I mean, Arnie,
how many more years can Tom Brady play? I know
that this is a summertime conversation that we're having on

(01:55:10):
Super wild Card weekend, But when you're asked, hey, who's
next to retire? I mean, it's it's like Brady or
Rogers conversations. Right. I could sit there Brady retired, but
just still, you know, working every once in a while,
like at a part time job. So um, because he's
for some reason, he's just gonna keep on going and going.
I don't know who the next big name is gonna retire.

(01:55:30):
That it's a good question. Good question might be Derek Carr.
He said he'll retire if you ever left the Raiders.
They might challenge that. All right, well, listen, no longer
delaying the inevitable. It's what you all came for tonight.
It's Arnie's picks. Take it away, stinking genius. Let's get
at it. Give me a little music put me in
the mood. Let's start with the game tomorrow or actually
later on today Monday. It's going to be the Cardinals

(01:55:53):
and the Rams. The Rams are a three and a
half point favorite. Matter of fact, I thought it was
up to four by note went down the three and
a half. I love the Rams. I love the Rams.
I love the over in the game to forty nine
and a half. But I think the Rams get back
and on tractor at home. I can't believe it opened
up in five. Money's coming on Arizona is obviously people

(01:56:15):
like the points, but I'm gonna take the Rams away
the three and a half and take the over forty
nine and a half in that one. Let's go to
the games next week where it's gonna be the Bengals
and the Titans. The Titans are a three point favorite.
I'm taking the dog where the dogs lately, who let
the dogs out? Nobody the cages open, Let's see if

(01:56:36):
they got I'll walk through it. Give me the Bengals
plus the three and that one. I'm gonna stay with
a hot team there. We'll see what the Titans pull up.
The forty Niners and the Packers. Packers are only a
four and a half point favorite with the week off.
Um forty Niners played a tough game. Now they're gonna
have to go up in the cold. No way, no how,
Give me the Packers minus the four and a half

(01:56:58):
Bills and the Chiefs. I can't believe the line opened
up at two. A lot of respect there for the
Buffalo Bills, and then stay in at two and two
and half right now. I can't take Kansas City as
good as they look today because Pittsburgh's a big fraud.
But I'm gonna go ahead and take the Bills plus
the two points and go with the upset there, if

(01:57:19):
you can consider an upset. And since I picked the
Rams to beat the Cardinals, I got the Rams to
beat Tampa, who is banged up. They've got so many
injuries it's like everybody other team is injured. I don't
know what the line is gonna be, but give me
the Rams in that game. So there you have my
big two of them, as you please. No longer strictly
for entertainment purposes only, all right, let me, uh, let's

(01:57:39):
kind of roll through some of these tweets real quick
before you wrap it up and hand it over to
Big Bin. I will admit I'm a little bit surprised
how you're dismissing Jimmy G and the Niners. Now again,
we've spent a lot of the show tonight concerned with
Jimmy G and then also maybe overpraising him at times. Yes,
it's been a wild ride, but just slam dunk. You're

(01:58:01):
in Packers all the way. Not even love the Packers,
absolutely love them this weekend all right, um NFL. Liars writes,
hiring the big name coach doesn't always work, exhibited by
Patrick Ewing at Georgetown and John Gruden with the Raiders.
Is if Riches the top choice is he? Frankly, I

(01:58:23):
have zero clue. Now, I don't think Rich Pisacci is
the top choice. I think I think the best evidence
he has is how Derek Karne these guys rallied around him.
But I think that their asses kick both times they
played Kansas City. Let's just be honest about it. I
mean throttled, destroyed housed uh in both Kansas City and Vegas.
So I think that went a long way, probably in

(01:58:43):
sealing his faith. Though it's listen, I Danny G and
I talked about it a lot obviously, Arnie. It's it's
hard not to tip your cap to have how much
this team overcame this year? Oh absolutely, I thought they
were gonna just fall apart one Gruden was gone. I'm like,
they might not win another game the rest of the year.
It's right, uh, Colin in a handful of you, I'm
not not just one or two A handful of you.
Tonight apparently didn't have as much fun watching football as

(01:59:06):
we did, right, it was a snoozer of a wild
card weekend. More teams and more games doesn't always make
for a better product. Less is more, no not in
this case. I just I can't get on board with that.
I mean, if you're gonna go to the buffet, eat,
eat a bunch my friends down and then Mr Nobody

(01:59:29):
writes as a chief hater. I watched part of the game,
but once it got out of hand, I turned on
reruns of Charmed on Pluto TV. Hey, at least the
Unsolved Mysteries is banging on Pluto TV. Check that atmoshere nobody.
But anyways, the NFL is in the business to make money,
but it doesn't mean the product is worth paying attention to.

(01:59:52):
I didn't realize I was fighting an uphill battle tonight
with you people to sell the NFL playoffs on anyway, already,
have a great week two up. We'll recap obviously the
big playoff games next weekend, including that Chiefs of Bills
and matchup. Enjoy Monday night football. Ben Mallor is coming
up next for Arnie and Plank stick around. It's Fox
Sports Radio.
