Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. Oh let's go, boys,
let's go. Let's go another year playing another year. I
love this, I know, you know I do. Every year
I say I don't love it, but as as the
game time gets close, yeah, I love it. I I do.
I mean, you would have the choice right of probably

(00:23):
having to have friends over and have a Super Bowl
get together or something of that nature at least. Well
I'm on the same way. So that's why this works
out so well. Alright, so let's play a very important
game here right off the top. For I don't know
why you tweeted out and said for those not watching
the game, that's like ten percent of America. You're really

(00:45):
trying to drill into a very niche market there already
with your tweet promoting the show. I mean, we're we're
a watch along. This is you know, podcasts do this now.
A lot of the wrestling podcast do this now? Right
the watch alongs we were doing watch alongs if Ox
Sports Radio Arnie before watch along is worth thing by
God's watch along? All right? Where is your feed right now?

(01:08):
Tell me, I'll tell you. And there's the kickoff, right
and see that's what I'm kind of worried about Chris.
I think we need to explain this because your guys
is normal time on the airs in a few hours
from now, So you guys got pushed up. Cavino and
Rich are gonna be the after party right after you.
But every Sunday night, we have this one issue with Arnie.

(01:29):
While we all watch exciting NFL games, Arnie's feed somehow
is always magically ahead of ours. I'm at halftime right now,
what you missed the great first half? I gotta tell
you that. So they're in the Bengals locker room and
it's it's funny, but it's not funny because Arnie is

(01:50):
I mean, I listen, I say this with a lot
of you know, and and and I'm not trying to
play by play. Isn't really his strength. It's more seeing
something happen at and basically saying, oh, that's not good.
Well it means, but but we were not supposed that's
not our job is not to do the play by play,
though I understand it, But there is this idea that

(02:12):
we would all want to be watching at the same
time and not have future Arnie here to ruin it
all for us, right, I mean, that's only fair, right, Danny.
We all want to see it in our real time
and not have to worry about Arnie even giving us
a hint of what's to come. That's all we ask for. Yeah, Arnie,
we might not be getting paid to do play by play,

(02:33):
but you are supposed to use pronouns when you're on
the radio. It's theater of the mind. It's painting a picture.
And Arnie says, oh, he caught it. Who caught it?
Where did you catch it? What difference does it make
who caught it? You know who caught it? All right,
so let me see here. Tell me how you know
what they're they're showing. By the way, I just had

(02:56):
one of those moments where I looked up and what's
on the screen right now? And I thought, how did
they get those giant drapes on the field? And I
realized it was a CG. So I'm on Bobby Bell
and Dave Robinson waving to the crowd. We're on them
boring the Super Bowl trophy or a picture of the
Super Bowl trophy. Okay, okay, all right, this is a
good um. So that we're pretty close. I'm assuming we're

(03:18):
fairly close. Our Super Bowl Trophy has just landed behind
the fifty six logo. Okay, so you're about what would
you say, just went the commercial, So there you go
after the YouTube thing. I just went the commercial. Oh no, alright,
so I think he's about eight or nine seconds. Wow,
a lot of money like this. It's more than that, dude,

(03:40):
it's like eleven seconds ahead of us. It's like thirty minutes.
I'm at the end of the first quarter. What is
Welcome to Hell along with Danny g and I was
Sam Bobo will be careful, be careful? Pit with us
later because this is disaster. No, all right, Well, listen,
we've got thirty minutes to talk in a fell Arnie

(04:00):
and what this week has brought to us and a
little bit of a doozy moments ago from Rodney Harrison
in the pregame show. But first, let's talk about the
developing story with Sean McVeigh. And I know this is
probably a brilliant negotiating tactic, right when he comes out
the other day and he's asked a question about coaching

(04:21):
and kind of alludes to the fact that maybe he
could be done if they went a Super Bowl and
maybe he's wanting to start a family, and he kind
of has that John mind maddened mindset, and he's sharp,
and he's uh funny, and he's he's well spoken. I
just wonder, Arnie, are you buying the potential that this

(04:41):
could be it for Sean McVeigh and he could step
into a future in television and be done coaching if
they win the Super Bowl. Okay, I think burnout is
a real thing. There's there's no doubt about that. You know.
I think you could be, you know, so engulfed in
your job, and there's no doubt that he's one of
those guys that Um has that type a personality that's
I mean, I'm all in, I'm sleeping in the office,

(05:03):
I'm doing all that stuff, and at times it's not healthy.
I mean, he looks healthy, and we've we've seen some
coaches that don't look healthy. Let's just go ahead and
leave it at that. All that being said, I think
he's really too young, Um to go ahead and and
call it quits and hang up. Maybe you'd like to
take a year or two off. I could see that,
or maybe a year off, But I think he's too
young to go ahead and say I want to go

(05:24):
ahead and and hang it up. He's got a good
thing going. He's got a great gig. I mean, my goodness,
look where he's living. For crying out loud, Um, he
just has to have maybe a better balance. Sure, some
of it could be there because of the contract negotiations
and stuff like that. And burnout is a very real thing.
Would mental health and all that. We we've seen that, Chris.
But I don't. I don't think he'll step away from

(05:46):
everything and give up a job like this. Me neither.
And then there was the other rumor that Rodney Harrison
started moments ago during the NBC pregame show, Yeah, did
you catch this? Here's what Rodney Harriet said about the
future of Aaron Donald at this point his career. He's big,
and he doesn't want to be known as a defender
that accomplished so many individual things but never won a

(06:10):
Super Bowl. But he also told me this if he
if he wins a Super Bowl, there's a strong possibility
that he could walk away from the game and retire.
So that was Rodney Harrison on Aaron Donald's future. Are
we using retirement as a negotiating employee? Here by mcveighan
and Aaron Donald. I mean that seems pretty strong coming

(06:30):
from Rodney Harrison. Well, but also can I just finish
one more thing about that? I don't know if you
saw the report by Andrew Marshawn that just came out
that says if McVeigh does walk um that ESPN wants
m from Monday Night Football according to the Post. So um,
there's there's certainly a prolethora of jobs out there for him,
no doubt about that, as Fare and Donald, is that

(06:51):
kind of um sound um? Crazy daddy would walk away?
To me? Ask you, this is Tom Brady's career any
worse for every to retire after a playoff loss? And
then if you were retired after last year after he
won the Super Bowl. So, in other words, if Brady
would have walked away after winning last year as opposed

(07:13):
to losing in this divisional this year, doesn't make any difference,
doesn't make any difference. Maybe it does to him. I
don't know what. Do we just say he did it
on his own terms and he want the way to
We even know that ten fift twenty years from now,
and I'm sure he dropped into it. He walked away
the Super Bowl champ is it that important? I don't know.
You tell, Okay, I see what you're saying. In other words,

(07:36):
if you want to go and you're contemplating going like
they is Aaron Donald is, if they ran, you know,
is it easy right exactly? Or does it feel that
hunger anymore? I will say this as the Rams start
to make their way towards the field. As a kid already,
I'm not even kid right now. So I was talking
to my dad earlier today, and you know, from the
time that I was a little baby, watching the Super

(07:58):
Bowl with my dad was what it was all about.
And I love, I mean loved the player introductions and
I still do today. So they're in the process of
that right now. But I like your thought, Hey, if
you're if you're out, does it really make that big
of a difference if you win as opposed to you lose.
Here's the other thing. I'm glad you mentioned that Andrew
Marciana Report, because Andrew marsh and because I listened to

(08:21):
Sports Media podcast, because I don't know, I'm a nerd.
But Andrew has said for the longest time, Arnie Sean
McVeigh is a valued and wanted commodity amongst the media entities,
and you think about um Amazon getting in the game, right,
you think about Fox Sports maybe not having Troy Aikman.
You think about ESPN and wanting to do something to

(08:42):
make its Monday night booth big time. That'd be a
pretty big splash to get a guy like Sean McVeigh
to come take over on any of those platforms. Um
let me ask, is it that really big time? Is
he like Manning? Is? Is that the type of ratings?
Is he gonn again? Is somebody? Is he a polar
as a coach that you have to have on TV?
Is Is he gonna be Mr? Hot Take? That's when

(09:04):
it's gonna come down. Do unless you've got some entertainment
factor like Demanning's, do you better be Mr hot Take?
Otherwise it's not gonna work no matter who you are.
Look at show, you're you're you're steering the conversation. And
what I think goes beyond just Sean mcveigh's future. But
with the way that analyzing games has gone, Arnie, is
his really style that everyone's gonna be like, Oh my gosh,

(09:25):
I gotta hear what Sean McVeigh has to say about
the game. Interesting has there been in your opinion. Now,
I spent some time in l A this week. Um,
I don't think you can judge everyone's like, oh, there's
not any buzz around town about the super Bowl. It's
freaking l A. All right, It's not like you're putting
this in the middle of I don't know, Green Bay.
It's one of the most iconic cities on the plan.

(09:48):
I wasn't it was amazing, But I don't you know what.
I couldn't care less about the buzz around it, Arnie.
It's the Super Bowl. Everyone's gonna watch. Who cares what
the lead up is to it. I think we're gonna
get a great game today. I think it's gonna be
a close game. If it is going to be a blowout,
I mean I would just betting strictly on the bedding. Um,

(10:09):
you could make a lot of money on the odds
if you want to go ahead and bed down the
rams on the blood. But I do think it's gonna
be a close game. I'm taking Sincinnati puts the points.
I do you think Sincenat he's gonna win the game?
But I like the four or four and a points
whatever it is right now? All right, we got some
early pregame show conversations that will get into We've got
I don't know if you want to say, Arnie and
I are necessarily giving you keys to the game, but

(10:31):
maybe some long shots in. We're getting ready for what
the first official prop to hit, and that's the over
under the anthem or with a coin toss come first.
I think it's the anthem for I think the anthem
is gonna come first. At last night checked, there was
one minute, thirty five second seconds on what Mickey Cochrane,
who has done it two times before, both under one

(10:53):
thirty five guy, and I'm sorry, I'm sorry about that.
Um so on the one one thirty five and both
under one thirty five to two times. So we'll see
what happens there. I want to pause for just a moment,
as the imagery right now inside so Fi Stadium is
of the Cincinnati Bengals trotting onto the field. I just

(11:15):
had this moment. Cincinnati's in the Super Bowl? Arenaty? What
in the hell has happened? Where a team two years
ago was two and fourteen and two years later there
in the damn Super Bowl? They living on the edge.
This whole playoff Rount too. You see Ikey Woods making
the rounds. What about all the other you know, there's

(11:35):
other former Cincinnati greats. I think of all the great
quarterbacks obviously, you know you think of Boober or Sias
and Virgil Carter. I don't remember if you remember Ken Anderson.
I mean, so many great Cincinnati players. I think I
would have liked to see them, you know, more come out.
But um, yeah, it's certainly not deep in you know,
a town. But it's good to see them in the

(11:57):
super Bow. I love having him in there. Okay, I
was in Ohio this we gonna know what you to know?
And I saw that, Yeah, and really it was you
saw a few Cincinnati Bengal things. Um people you know,
jumping on the bandwagon. But it wasn't like I was,
you know, in the Cincinnati area. So you know, there
was a lot of Cleveland Brown fans where I was.
I'll tell you what I think if you were in
the Cincinnati area, Arnie, you would have been inundated with it.

(12:21):
I think it is everywhere in that city right now.
And I would say, uh, they've traveled really really well.
As you might imagine, Arnie, you're in a situation where ay,
you had no idea that this team would be in
the super Bowl this year and be it's been a
minute since the last time you went, so I think
Bengal fans rushed out to l A. It's been a

(12:42):
very expensive ticket, as you might imagine, but this is
gonna be a very pro Bengal crowd. You seem out
there when you're out there, you see the jury the
Bengal fans out there or was again, I just I
think that's so hard unless you're right there by so
high where everything is going on, because I haven't already
and you know, we've been around the area. We haven't

(13:02):
necessarily been in the belly of the beast, if you will.
But man, I just I hate those people that try
to get it's it's Los Angeles. The super Bowl is
going to be here again and again and again. It
doesn't matter what the buzzes around it. And I'll tell
you this much. Maybe it would have been a little
bit different if, say, the Rams didn't get in the
Niners got in, right, if it was Niners Bengals, even

(13:23):
though when Los Angeles, maybe that sea of red already
coming in for the Bay Area, maybe that would have
made a little bit of it. And and by the way,
that place just looks absolutely awesome a us, Oh my goodness,
and it's I was telling my wife it looks like
Century City and it's gonna it's good to you know,
take over for um being like a whole city where
hotels shop. Again. It's it's absolutely incredible. Yeah, and I'm

(13:45):
gonna send you a shot from one of my friends
who's uh sitting in the rams section right now and
inside it. It is just absolutely phenomenal. You mean, not
at the game right now? At the game right now?
Would you rather be at the game or being yess?
I mean, that's that's the top of shorts there. What
are you talking about? I'd rather be sitting right here
with you and Danny g and I was saying, and

(14:08):
Bobo and Steve de Sager watching along all right? Uh,
where about what twenty minutes away from kickoff? So when
we come back, some final thoughts, players to watch, and
Arnie's reset pick all coming up here on Fox Sports Radio.

(15:17):
boys and girls. Our first bet is in it's the over?
The what is the over? For the anthem? So it
was apparently not even close. I saw a couple of
discrepancies on exactly how long it was. Well, it was
one five? Was the over? Under? Right? Right? Right? One
fifty one is what I'm seeing. I saw physic headed
at one fifties. Someone said they were travel whatever it is,

(15:41):
it's over, Yeah, it's over. No wait wait, hold on,
how could there be a seven second discrepancy. I have
no idea. Well, you know, it goes to the Some
people do it at the end of the last word
or the last I don't know it until she stops
with the voice. It depends on where you want to
end it exactly. You know what. I gotta give kudos Arnie.

(16:03):
I was talking to our buddy um Lee Sterling the
other day and he and his daughter, she's apparently a
trained singer, and they had gone back. This shows you
why he's one of the best. They had gone back
and actually listened to her previous national anthems, had kind
of seen where she may have stumbled or may have

(16:24):
added a word, but she had cut him kind of short,
and so he said, hammer that over and was her
first major appearancing in this So um you know she'd
probably want to enjoy the spotlight and she did. I heard.
I mean, I didn't listen to it, but Twitter is
a buzz that it was just phenomenal. So you know
who we have to count on her, you know, we

(16:45):
have to count on for that to give let us
know if it was great or not. Arnie, not us,
because we can't listen to the game. While yeah, exactly.
I'll take all of Twitter's uh reaction to it. Ulet's see.
Let's see, Le's take couple of these tweets. Nature boy rights.
I'm a Rams hater since the seventies, so if the
Rams get beat by the Bengals, the critical tweets are

(17:08):
going to be harrier than well, let's just say someone's
five o'clock shadow. I have no idea who that is
nature boy um also Paul Bills Mafia member rights. John
John Madden's vocabularity consisted of the words boom, bam and doink.
He made a thirty year career out of it, so
I guess he's saying, probably won't be that hard to

(17:29):
have McVeigh try to be the next John Madden. A
good one that it could be. But as I'm speaking
about the word doink, I heard one of the bets
was do you think that Deve ball I will hit
one of the goal post minus five hundred no, plus
three ten years. I gotta go with the no on
that one for sure. And I do want to confirm
that I was Sam was working with you at Niles.

(17:52):
I really appreciate the tweet at Bloke from a Z.
We have tried to get already to pause his TV
and act. You gave it the good run during the
commercial break, but you couldn't figure it out. Yeah, actually
had paused it, but I was getting all panicky that
I was actually behind you guys, so I just spent
it back up to live TV. I'm like, I can't
do this. So you had actually figured out how to

(18:16):
pause it, but you didn't want any chance that you
wouldn't be the slightest bit. And I'm not gonna spoil
it now. I have so much fun doing it that
it now. Yeah, we'll do it live. Uh And let's see.
There was one more here that I wanted to get
to a lot of people thrown in their picks at
money Line Bets Rights uh RAMS money Line Cincinnati plus

(18:36):
four and a half rams money Line uh RAMS record
for our Rams record first half, first half over twenty
three and a half. Oh, I like that under in
the first half. By the way, you know what everybody
is jumping on. I heard everybody's talking about you gotta
take the over Stafford half. The interception didn't have it
the last game, but but you never know. I look,
that's always a hit and missing. But you know that

(18:57):
that could be a good one. Also. You know, I'm
always a little bit intrigued by what kind of game
we get early Arnie. And you know last year we
got a game where the Buccaneers just came out and
I used the analogy shot out of a cannon the
year before that. You know, when we're doing this, it's
just neither team could really get moving early on. I

(19:18):
remember thinking about the Rams Super Bowl. By the way,
that's a that's a cute kid in that full Rams
uniform right there. That is awesome. The punt pass kick competitors,
she was cute. Um, But it's the Super Bowl between
the Rams the Patriots. Wasn't done right, and it not
only took a while to get going and never really
got going. So I'll ask you what kind of start

(19:41):
do you expect? Do you think, because I'm all in
on it being a rock fight early on and maybe
opening it up late, what do you get the sense
it's gonna um? Um, I can see a strong start,
and that brings me up to my my first major decision.
You're gonna see how nerves are gonna get on these coaches. Um,
what happens if it's fourth and one from midfield? Um,
if it's McVeigh, they go for it. I know that.

(20:02):
I'm telling you that. I I I see the Rams
going and having some guts. Um, though you're certainly not
going to go ahead and have those guts like you
did in the regular season for other playoff games. I mean,
you're not going forward on fourth and one from your
old thirty five. But I always want to see what
happens on that first fourth down when it's like fourth
and one right around midfield early in the game. Um,

(20:24):
do you play conservative and he's like, hey, this is
what got us here? Or going ford? Um, you know that,
That's that's what I want to see. You know, all right?
What did Billy gene Keene give us? Arnie flips the
coin heads? Yes, heads, at least if I can read lips, right,
that's what it looks like. He said, Rams are getting
the ball first, my friend. So Matt Stafford and the

(20:46):
Rams will get an opportunity first. See Joe Mixon, Joe Burrow,
who is at von Bell out there is captain's for
the Cincinnati Bengals. Uh, here we go, all right, Um,
you brought up how the coaches will coach. I gotta
be honest. I love that. Are are you gonna be
aggressive and fourth down situation? What do you think do
you do that right off the No, no, no, no, no,
we're not doing that. I think I think you do it.

(21:07):
I think you do it. I think you're stay and
you be aggressive. Here's the other thing with Los Angeles
getting the football first, and by the way, it was
heads look at me reading lips. Let's go. Hey, do
you think it's a conservative game plan early for the Rams,
try to establish the run, maybe get cam akers going,
see if they can't, kind of grind a little bit.

(21:30):
I think I want to blazon. I think I want
Stafford the completest first pass early, so good to come
out throwing a short pass. Gotta get maybe Odell into
the game early. Also, if I'm Cincinnati, though, I think
the Rams are gonna be more conservative Hub Cincinnati, I
may go deep the first player of the game. To
hell with it. I'm like, we're gonna show that we're
not just happy to be here. Let's open it up, boys,
we're in the super Bowl. That's what I would do.

(21:52):
If um Cincinnati m Joe Burrow, Joe, if you see
single coverage, just go for let's go baby, just go
and yarrow with the final word rights, I passed on
two Super Bowl parties to hang with my guys, play
Ken Arnie another super Bowl with you dudes, love it,
Let's go. He said. It also doesn't hurt that he
has a three hour training session tomorrow morning. So that way,

(22:16):
you go ahead and get that nap in our Excuse me,
you're not worried about party and two hearts. You don't
have to worry about an app. You stay sober and
hang out with us for the next five hours. It
should be a blast. All right. Before kickoff, let's get
one final look at the storylines and all the highlights
of the day in the world of sports. Steve de
Seger comes rolling in with it up take what's going on? Hello, gentlemen,

(22:37):
and a happy Super Bowl Day to you. Cannot wait
for this kickoff? I thought I sent it to the game.
What's going on here? Shows what power you have. By
the way, the tickets for this game as of today,
the ticketmaster resa was there were a couple for four
thousand dollars in the upper Yeah. Not that is not
bad these days most of them were five thousand and up. Uh.

(23:00):
You mentioned the rams going forward on fourth down. Keep
in mind the Rams coach was the complete opposite of
the Chargers coach in that same stadium. As far as
going forward on fourth when it was fourth and two
or more, the Rams went for it a league low
five times the entire season, one for five when it
was fourth and two or more, and one of those

(23:21):
was a botch punt, which is counted as a fourth
down attempt. The one conversion was the game winning drive.
It worked at Baltimore, but there was a fake field
goal there once. They just went for it because it
was such a blowout. But one for five for the
Rams when going forward on fourth and two or more.
Our referee tonight for the Super Bowl Super Bowl fifty
six in the Rams Stadium, Rams and Bengals is Ron Torber,

(23:43):
graduate of Michigan State and Harvard Law School. Retired as
an attorney a couple of years ago. But quite a
story as a lot of guys have working their way up.
He started his officiating career at Michigan High School games
thirty years ago. Twenty years ago, he was working Division
two football two thousand five one season in the MAC Conference,
then four seasons Big Ten. Now he's been in the

(24:04):
NFL for years started a side judge over a decade ago.
The Super Bowl is his today and the coin toss
right Bengals wanted and deferred coin toss winner has become
the Super Bowl loser seven straight years, so we'll see
how that goes. The coin flip will involved Billy jen
King on the field, l a native now co owner
of the Dodgers, by the way, and also involved the
football team from the California School for the Deaf in

(24:26):
Riverside in southern California, which just had its best season
in program history twelve and one made the final in
eight man football, so they were honored. It has been
warm all week. It's about eighty degrees around Inglewood. Keep
in mind there is a roof over the Ram Stadium.
Shadows come through the rock. The rock is making it
up rock on the field. It looks like special teams

(24:49):
are on the field, but we're still a couple of
minutes away from an actual kickoff. Why is the rock there?
To say, Even when it was noted yes today, Hey,
he's going to make an appearance, some people said, wait
a minute, isn't he XFL not NFL? Why is this?
I thought that was a legitimate question. Meanwhile, at the
Phoenix Open, it's still going there on the second hold

(25:12):
of the playoff. They're not finishing before the super Bowl
kicks off. They're just gonna keep playing the eighteenth hole
over and over with Patrick Cantley against Scottie Scheffler. And
in case you didn't hear the Adrian Peterson story, the
running back of course, in the past has faced allegations
of family violence before something this morning involving him and
his wife hours before the Super Bowl, ironically, at l

(25:33):
A Airport, which is very close to the stadium, right
on the other side of the freeway. This morning, Adrian
Peterson was booked, according to TMZ, for felony domestic violence.
That airport police were called in around eight thirty Pacific
a disturbance on the plane leaving l A X for
a flight to Houston reportedly had to turn around link
back up with the gate because of a verbal and

(25:54):
film physical altercation. Now reps reps for Peterson soon released
at eight men confirming that it was Peterson's wife that
was the other party in the conflict. They describe it
as only a verbal argument. Back. I thought you're gonna
tell me about the story that my gosh is the Rock.
Do want stand up on the field? His arms are massive.

(26:18):
The special teams people are still waiting. The Bengals are
hold around the football. Can we start here? Please? Like Rock,
what's going on here? Bro? You know I love you.
You are not the main event tonight. Get off the field.
He just ran through the history of the Bengals. That
should have been pretty short. Yeah, I mean, look at that.
I'm trying to think of this guy and I weigh

(26:38):
the same. He weighs more than I am, but we
just have different bodies. I don't know what it is
about that. I'm fat, needs to lose wet. I'm gonna say,
Rock ways more than me. So I now here's the
question I do have about that is Ev McPherson gets
ready to kick off super Bowl fifty six. How much
of that? It's like, alright, Rock, he got like twelve

(27:00):
seconds just get out there and say something. And then
all of a sudden, Rock out out there and was
feeling it. It's like twelve second, so it doesn't matter
how long you told me I had, And he just
takes off and does his own thing. Curious because super
Bowl fifty six the Bengals and the Rams is underway
from Los Angeles and the kick is a touchback, so

(27:22):
there's no kickoff return, but there's also an over under
of what four and a half touchbacks, So something to
keep an eye on in this game. Yeah, and a
good start. Rams will have it first and ten from
their own twenty five. Now listen, you hear the crew
that is all working together with Arnie and Sagra on updates.

(27:44):
Uh myself, iwa Sam Bobo will be sliding in here
at the end of the first quarter or around there,
Danny g But I didn't want to take a moment
to thank Arnie. Big Mike and his crew they are
immediately turning around all of the big plays, um, all
of the big plays that basically take place in the game,

(28:05):
from the Spanish call to the national call. Big Mike's
got his crew behind the scenes calling all the audio
for you. Sure as soon as it happens, So they's
Big Mike. Eric It's funny because whenever I got the
list of people they put Eric Andre, was like, Eric
Andre is doing sound of the back for us, But

(28:28):
that would be fantastic by the way, I did too.
I'm a big fan Eric Andre Tap and Brandon are
all in Big Mike's sound cove today, so I just
wanted to give him a big shout out because they're
giving up part of their Super Bowl to be here
and make sure that everything works functionally with By the way,
I just have to ask. As Matt Stafford completes a

(28:49):
short pass on first down, ended up getting about nine
out of that I don't know huddle, but then they
went after they got that completion, they went back and
huddled up. So I'm I still haven't quite figured up
if they're gonna go with the no huddle, or if
they're gonna do what they have urther play or or
what's gonna happen right now. Looks like they're milk in
the play clock here a little bit. I also had
to ask. I was saying, you're in the middle of
this to where you're basically leaving while the game's going on.

(29:12):
You're kind of who this show was made for, right,
I mean you get to listen to us while you're
on the four oh five back home. That's right, yes, yes,
I but but my plan is to listen to you
guys as little as possible because you know I'll be
missing game and possibly Super Bowl. Uh say, but yes,
I will be driving back I made with great promotion
there I'm not listening to. But I'm gonna be on

(29:34):
the road alright. Big moment here on second down in
ten arendy one thing that could end up being an issue.
This Cincinnati Bengal pass rush is legit, and they got
to staff for real good on that one matter of fact. That, Uh,
that's gonna be interesting because as you said, they do
have a good pass rush and they're gonna be needed
big time to make sure that he doesn't stand back

(29:55):
there and pick him up part and Acres really missed
a chip block. I don't know that was gonna be
fully his responsibility or if he was flaring out. But
third down and a mile third and seventeen here on
the first possession for the Rams. All right, uniform battle,
What do you think? I kind of like it. I
think it looks good. Adios static complaints on the black

(30:16):
Bengals jerseys and the color scheme that the Rams went with. No,
it looks pretty classic to me. I mean it stands
out good. Good color scheme. I mean knights and bright
on the TV's bold and kind of give you a
little old school days and right now Rams are are gone,
so they're gonna punch the ball. And Cincinnati couldn't have
started the Super Bowl better. They gave up one first down,
but the defense clamped. They got a sack on the

(30:39):
on the next series. They're gonna force the Rams to punt.
We'll see what Burrow is gonna do. I told you
if i'm Burrow, Um, I'm gonna surprise him a little bit.
I'm gonna go deep the first play, show him that
we're not nervous about this guy. That third and seventeen
was a loss of three yards on the kerry. The
Rams backfield is as healthy as it has been all season,
for whatever that means. They couldn't run that well last
game and still managed to win with the two fourth

(31:00):
quarter field goals. You were talking the uniforms. The Bengals,
as the a f C champs, are the designated home
team for the Super Bowl. They chose to wear the
black jerseys for the big game and what turns out
to be maybe the hottest Super Bowls. I don't know.
The forecast was out there put it that way. There
is a roof again over the field, so there's no
direct sunlight, just shadows coming through. And again it's gonna

(31:23):
be sunset by halftime or so. But it's black jerseys
for them. And I think the previous record was eighty
four degrees for a Super Bowl at kickoff, and that
was when the l A Coliseum had at nineteen seventy
three with the undefeated Dolphin. So the Rams are wearing
white jerseys. They're in a break after the Rams first
possession right now. Teams wearing white jerseys have won fourteen

(31:44):
of the last seventeen Superowl that he probably has a
better record. I'm sure they chose that just for them,
not Super Bowl history. But Tampa Bay a year ago
was in the white It's just the a f c
S year to be the home team in the title game.
It doesn't matter that it's at the Rams day and
the Rams as the visitors, got to call the coin toss,
I believe. And still they use their home locker room

(32:05):
in their stadium, They've been at their practice facility, they
stayed at their regular hotel in matt And Manhattan Beach
like they would before any other home game. Last night unreal.
And they did get a first down on their first drive,
but just point two yards per play for the Rams
on their opening drive. Uh not necessarily a three and out.
They got the first down on the screen on the

(32:28):
first down play who was a completed to Cam Akers
one catch seven yards Matt Stafford one for one but
was sacked and then a short running play and a
little disappointed at the play, caring I thought they I
thought they'd come out, try to get the ball to O'Dell,
try to go ahead and maybe get a quick slant
in there. Spread everybody apart um, you know that not
be that conservative. I know they did go back to

(32:48):
pass and get sacked, but I thought they'd come out blazing.
So maybe they'll just go ahead and just say, let's
see how this game plays out. Well, start off with
this first series. But when you have the ball first
and now since Sinnati gets it back in this like
an half, you gotta worry about that double scoring when
you get to get at the end of the first
half and get the ball back for the second half.
And starting well with the first drive, there was the

(33:08):
sack that made it the third and long A p says,
in the last sixteen Super Bowls, only once as a
team converted a third and fifteen or more. Rams had
third and seventeen. Their chiefs a couple of years ago
converted one. So if we ever get third and very long,
let's keep that in mind. It's next to impossible to
do that against a Super Bowl opponent. All right, when
we come back first down and ten for the Cincinnati Bengals,

(33:30):
they've got great field position on is this right on
their own forty two yard line? So the Rams four
plays pointed away, the Bengals have the football when we
come back scoreless early in the Super Bowl here on
Fox Sports Radio, Ardi and Plak super Bowl fifty six
Live on Fox Sports Radio. I was Sam, Danny g

(33:53):
Steve de Seger, Bobo's coming up here in a bit,
Big Mike and his editing crew. We already have one
of our big moments in Arnie. It's right in line
with one of your storylines. Scoreless, but the Rams trying
to put together a drive because the Bengals went for
it on fourth down. I don't get it. I said,
what are you gonna do when it's fourth and what
you're right around midfield? And that's exactly, um what the

(34:15):
Bengals had, And it was fourth and one. I always
say you go for it. But the situation it was
second to one, I believe, or second to two, then
third and one, the fourth and one, So they didn't
do a very good job. And that was a horrible pass,
just absolutely horrible pass, a horrible decision by Joe Burrow.
And now the Rams are moving the ball deep inside
sincin that territory. Yeah, a little screen, well not a screen,

(34:37):
a little bubble past Cooper Cup when he got open,
and he took a third and four and pushed it
all the way on the what doorstep of the red
zone to the twenty four yard line. So the Rams
are moving in. Listen, Arnie, I I think I don't
have a problem with going for it, right, I mean

(34:57):
they were at midfield. I mean, but again I kind
of stopped it. I think the past midfield. Yeah, they're
a little bit past. Yeah. Yeah, It's just you're in
a situation where you got pretty good field position to
start this game out. Why not just play the field
position game? You shut down their run, you sacked Stafford.
But I'm talking myself in and out of whether or

(35:19):
not going for it that early. It's time I'd have
to get the field. But then getting into it. The
two plays before then you got stopped. You got stopped
in second and two and third and one. Um, it
wasn't even close on the third and one, and I
actually pushed it back a little bit to like third
and one and a half, so I thought maybe there
was a chance they were going to punt the ball.
A little surprise. I thought it was about sixty forty
they were gonna go ahead and punt. They decided to
go for it. I'm not gonna hold it against him though,

(35:40):
So in the in not what the analytics said. You
gotta go for it, right, so they go for Yeah,
you have the ramps. I mean literally, you're right across midfield. Um,
I know you're I know you're basically feeling pretty good
about things, but I mean, you went for you didn't
get a stave. So that's its first quarter of the
Super Bowl. The last many years the Super Bowls, literally

(36:01):
only one other team had attempted a fourth down during
the first quarter of the Super Bowl, and that was
when the Chiefs, when they were down at the five
yard line, so they went for it. So here the
Bengals got stopped opening drive, and that makes nine straight
Super Bowls with without a team scoring a touchdown on
the opening drive. The Rams are more than just knocking
on the door of the red zone, Arnie Adam at

(36:22):
the twenty four, they were actually at like the twenty
one yard line, so that pushing the third and three here,
the completion to Cooper Cup was twenty yards to get
them down to the Cincinnati and he was over like
a hundred and four hundred and six yards receiving was
the overrun there, And I believe on Cooper. Well, look
how many hundred yard games he's had this year. Cooper
Cup has passed Michael Urban's NFL record play year. Boys,

(36:44):
So why don't you go ahead tell everybody what just happened,
Mr Chris Plague, because we are getting going, my friend,
third down to three Stafford and absolute dime Odell Beckham
junior touchdown. Rams and their dad sit in the end
zones of so FI. Oh my goodness, what a dime

(37:04):
from Stafford. They take over at midfield and immediately go
fifty yards in three and a half minutes. Extra point
will make it seven nothing. Rams seventeen yard touchdown past
Matthew Stafford to Odell Beckham. He has the first score.
They'll be criticized for going forward on fourth and one.
I'm not going to criticize. Remember, you're still in the
first quarter. The games out wonder lost here. You got

(37:25):
down seven nothing. That's okay. It's a long game out there.
You didn't think you're gonna shut out a shut about anyway.
But I don't want to everybody saying, well, that's at
the pace of the game. They went forth. Did he
get it? The Rams got the ball back, they scored
a touchdown seven nothing, and now you're playing from behind.
That that doesn't make a difference there by the way,
I just saw something on Twitter that cracked me up. Um.

(37:47):
There is a picture of Baker Mayfield sitting on the
bench and the caption or at anyone but Odell, anyone
but Hotel give him credit. He's been awesome since he's
ended up in the Rams, he's been Congratulations to person
that bet ten thousand dollars on Odell Beckham Jr. To
score the first touchdown at ten to one, and it

(38:08):
was set up by a third down reception by Cooper
cup The guy has thirty five catches on third downs
to get him first down to this season, including playoffs,
only Marvin Harrison ever had more in a season. He
continues to deliver seven straight coin toss winners have lost
the Super Bowl. So that's a trend that is trailing

(38:30):
right now. Is obviously working against the Bengals. A couple
of props that have already hit before we wrap up
our one. Trey Hendrickson first sack plus five hundred cashed,
um Bengals first play a pass minus one twenty cashed.
And let's see Matthew Stafford over five point five rushing

(38:52):
yards but four Now, that's something that could change Arnie
as this game goes on. So even though he had
to scramble here early on in this drive, feeling good
about things with Matt Stafford, Let's see five and a half,
he's got one carry for seven yards, but that thing
could go south pretty quick. Yeah, they were talking about
whether he was going to get one of like thirteen

(39:14):
like you said, or something like that, and uh, one long,
one long scramble. That's all it took. He wouldn't quite
pass the first down on that one, but he got
as much as he could when he slid on down.
So it's a a Steve t. Saker just brought up
a six player I'm keeping stats like I'm at the
game right now. I've actually have a notepad out while
we go through this six play, fifty yard drive that

(39:35):
took up three minutes and thirty five seconds. After the
fourth down non conversion turnover run downs by the Bengals,
who went four and out on their first drive, it
was officially a seventeen yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr.
The extra point is good. Rams out to an early
lead on the Cincinnati Bengals. We are one hour in

(39:56):
to a five hour swaring. I'm Chris Plank already real
quick when he got thirty seconds. Gotta love the Rams
getting the opportunity and going right for the jugular early.
I mean, at first I thought there was a little conservative.
It was third and fourth, so I'm not so true
over to throw that past. But there was single coverage
anyway on him, so he said, Hey, went better than

(40:17):
chance to open up the throw first past Odell Beckham Jr.
On the single coverage. When we come back, how will
the Bengals respond? In your instant reaction at steak Congenius
one at Plank show, it's already in Plank. Here comes
third down and three spans it right side looking for
Odell Beckham Jr. He high points the football and had

(40:38):
the six touchdown O b J touchdown l a ha
plus one thousand Odell Beckham Jr. One touchdown cash. Remember
I told you as soon as they got him, I
go congratulations, you won the Super Bowl. You and Bobo

(40:59):
both made fun me when I said, the Cowboys of
the got m. Now look at what a great pickuple
was by the Rams to get him again, we said
we liked the idea of the Rams getting him, Arnie.
At that time, the Cowboys had eighty six wide receivers,
so theyre was at least in their problems. But he's
been great. He's been great in Los Angeles. There's no
doubt about when Baker Mayfield live tweeted at at that point,

(41:22):
I don't know. If someone tell me that he's off
social media, I'm not even kidding. He announced it a
couple of weeks ago, right, Browns fans, He announced a
couple of weeks ago that he's off social media. So
Odell Beckham Junior first touchdown plus one thousand um. Also,
there was another place it had at first t D
plus nine hundreds. So a couple of opportunities to make

(41:43):
some money, and it didn't take long for us to
get a couple of tweets and said, I'll credit the
Nature boys, said, I'll go ahead and criticize the Bengals
for going forward and given the Rams their first touchdown?
Can you say stupid? Um, a lot of people gonna
do that. Come back tomorrow somehow the Bengals lose his
gamer against one and they're gonna come. I can say
that set the tone for by them going forward on
fourth and one of the sacred through me for a

(42:04):
loop there. What he said, um, that that is what
the second time that somebody has gone forward on fourth
down in the first quarters. So I I think we chiefs.
Chief's the only other one in the last fifteen twenty years.
So that kind of threw me back. I thought it's
happened many first quarter fourth down, not at least you know,
in our adult lifetimes. This is rare. But the Bengals,

(42:27):
you know, it's only seven nothing. No, they don't have
a first down yet. But this is the come from
behind team, right. This is a team that barely had
a winning record in mid December, and here they are
in the Super Bowl. They have nine come from behind
wins this season, including playoffs. Of course, think back to
their last game, how dominant that first half was against them.
So it's a rare it's in the last decade. It's

(42:48):
a small list of teams that had this many come
from behind wins. And by the way, big stop by
the Bengals defense. I mean, could you imagine if the
Rams would have taken this drive and and come on
down somehow would have gotten a field goal or a
touchdown and um oh widen their lead. So big stop
by the defense, and now they're gonna get some really
great field position the Bengals Now, um, I think I
have to open it up. Joe Burrow does not look

(43:09):
sharp at all. He overlooked the receiver on third and four.
They had the punt on that one. Chris, He's not
made good decisions on the fourth down pass when it
was fourth and one through in the double coverage actually
um when he had other receiver opened. So not making
good decisions. Not looking very sharp to start this game off,
and they're taking a great guys. With about two minutes
left in the first quarter, we await the Bengals first

(43:31):
first down there down seven, nothing you mentioned Burrow, and
this was mentioned by Romo at the last game, that
he can become the third starting QB ever to win
the consensus national title in college football and a Super
Bowl Joe Namath, Joe Montana. The others now the Rams
though you mentioned the stop that was on a third
and seven. The past went for four yards, so they punt.

(43:53):
It's a fifty five yard punt Johnny Hecker, who we
barely seen recently, but it was a twenty yard return. Yeah,
and thanks. I want to give a big shout out
to Big Mike and our editing career. They've already thrown
some of these audio pieces up where we can sprinkle
them in throughout the game as well, So thanks Big Mike.
We appreciate that. Um Arnie, you mentioned it. You're a
little bit concerned about the way that Cincinnati has been
handling themselves offensively early in this game. The numbers bear

(44:15):
it out, uh. Joe Burrow just three for his first
five for fourteen yards. They've managed one yard rushing on
two carries. As far as total plays are concerned, Bengals
have only run seven plays so far this game. Seven
plays for fifteen yards, two drives, averaging just over two
yards per play. They've got to get things going. But

(44:37):
to say here, hit it on the head. That's kind
of been their thing in the playoffs is to go well,
it's been their thing in the playoffs. But I gotta
tell you, you know, when you get this far, Chris, Um,
do you dance with what brung you? Or do you
go ahead and say, you know what, maybe we're gonna
do things a little bit different. Maybe for the first series,
we're gonna go ahead and mix it up. We're not
gonna go ahead and fall into the same trap so

(44:59):
they know what's coming, know what I mean, maybe it
mixed up just just a little bit. Or do you
just dance with a who brung you? At that point?
You know, you know that's a great question. I think
you just dance with who brung you? Right, I mean,
I think you enter a situation to where you know,
you don't try to do anything too crazy or two
out of out of the ordinary Cincinnati that I'm surprised Cincinnati.
He's already runn the ball twice. Then I thought Joe

(45:20):
would Mixon would have gotten the ball a little bit
more to start this game off, and Um, Joe Burrow
would have been on track with some short throws. Yes,
because Mixon almost had ninety yards rushing at Kansas City,
and the previous week it was about fifty rushing and
fifty receiving as well. Did you guys freak out like
I just did during that commercial? They have a commercial
with a QR code that was just bouncing around on

(45:42):
my It was just a QR code that was bouncing
around all over the screen, and I'm sitting there thinking,
do I do I click on this? Do I need
to take I saw I turned my head away because
I was looking, Oh my gosh, all right, well, so
the Bengals are going to take over at their own
third okay, thank you. So I was saying, no, I

(46:02):
saw it, and I was like, this is actually pretty
pretty smart because they're gonna have people like, what's this
little screensaver looking thing? And then they're gonna yes, snap
the QR code. And I thought my TV was broke,
so I was getting ready to call someone to fix
it for me. But here we go, Best Field position
to started driving. They they thought that I'm sorry, they
did what we thought they were gonna do. They're gonna
try to get the running game established and Mixing looking

(46:25):
real good on that first down carry Um. You mentioned field,
I mentioned field position, not the best field position for
them to start. They actually had it their own what
forty three yard line on the first drive and went
five and out essentially, so um, not not a good
look for the Cincinnati Bengals offensively, but already if forty

(46:47):
nine yard line was where that first drive was. But
if they can get going with Joe mixing, and that
kind of opens up the threat of the of the Yes,
they're getting going, my friend, watch and see what happens here, Christmas,
tell everybody the big play that just happened with Joe
Burrow down the right side, Chase almost got bumped by
Ramsey but comes up with a huge catch all the

(47:10):
way down. What the four almost fifty yard reception? Wow?
About about the ten yard line of the rams could
have been passed? Interference on that one, I'm not sure?
And Ramsey and coverage jamal Jama Ramsey? Who's that Jalen
Ramsey and coverage? Uh boy, he just ran right by him,
didn't he? And touchdowns gotten up and still continue to
run in for a Touchdow. I don't know, Yeah, because

(47:32):
that was a one handed grab. Yeah, like Ramsey against
Mike Evans a few weeks ago, Fast Movie. First quarter
in this game, no doubt about that. I thought it
was appropriate that this defensive back did sign with this team.
His name is Ramsey, after all, that's right. Has no
one else thought of this Ramsey? Okay, it's outside the tent,
so it's not first and goal. First first and ten

(47:53):
at the eleven yard line, and the first first down
passes tipped in complete, so they can get a first
down without scoring a touchdown. But it's pretty tie. Von
Miller makes the play. I don't I mean, listen, we're
we're about one quarter down. I don't think we need
to start having a an m v P conversation. But
it takes one big play to kind of sway the mindset.
And already with the Bengal team that had had, you know,

(48:13):
basically one yard of offense and their first two drives
get a big run from Joe Mixing, that big pass
play seems to have opened things up. Yeah, and you
know what here, I remember I brought up that first
big decision you have to make, would you go forward
on fourth and one? Another big decision will have to
be made. Could you imagine if the Bengals are in
fourth and short, do you go for the touchdown or
do you kick the field goal? I think they're more

(48:34):
more likely kick a field goal, get on board and
get back um because their defense is looking real good,
so I don't think they'll have any hesitation kicking a
field goal if it comes down to this. It's third
down right now. Yeah, big Fierson, you know that he's
pretty much automatic. Let's keep an eye on. Let's keep
an eye on this hit that Joe Mixon just yeah,
he got hit hard, both of them. Wedlds grabbed his

(48:54):
shoulder right after it. Now, Mixing had had some knee
issues earlier this year. Usually they're down back his p Ryan.
It looks like Joe staying in on this third down.
So Cincinnati trying to do something here early on to
equal the Rams touchdown pass and they'll have a decision
to make. It's fourth down at tennis complete. Yeah, it

(49:17):
looks like he had it and got knocked out. No good,
a great defensively. Oh my goodness. Hey, Chris Weddle is
looking like Abraham of the Raiders right there, just leading
with his shoulder and trying to get hurt, just trying
to get hurt by the way Jalen Ramsey and like
he almost picked that off. That's that's why, you know,
That's why you get a number one corner. Sure he

(49:39):
might have a moment where he gets beat, but he's
gonna come back and make a big play. That's saved
a touchdown. All right, all you Evan McPherson better start
thinking about your over under the twenty nine yard field
goal attempt his money and with twenty eight seconds to
go in the first quarter, Ram seven Bengals three. I
don't think any of us have a problem, right, guys

(50:00):
with the Bengals decided to go for three instead of
pushing for a field and the kicker. It's thirteen thirteen
this postseason on field goals now they were I wouldn't
have gone fregnant. Was went way too far? Yeah it
was yeah, And you know what you want to get
on the board. You have mr Automatic. You're already given
up seven points. You did your fourth dound shocker when
you were at midfield. Time to take the points and

(50:21):
your defense is looking good, so try to pin the
in the ram. Did you guys see the second replay
on Ramsey's play where he did make a great play.
You're right in reaching through the arms of the receiver
and breaking up at the goal line. The recent the
recent angle though he pulled the T shirt under the
jersey of the receiver kind of pulled him back to himself.
No call. Did you see Antonio Brown? Is it? Attendance

(50:43):
at the Super Bowl? Albert Briers snapping that pick of
a b in the house I noticed. I don't know
what the props are already seventy three by the way,
the Rams lead the Bengals closing seconds here of the
first quarter. But whatever props were about. Family shot by
NBC crowd shots like, we've got to be closely over.

(51:04):
We've already had Stafford family celebration with a guy that
had the the Matt f and Stafford shirt on in
the in the suite while his wife was losing her mind.
Wentworth family had a shot of that. You're usually all
over those kind of exotics, aren't. Yeah, I know, I don't.
I haven't seen that one. And by the way, did
Antonio brun Did he have a shirt on or shirt off?

(51:27):
He has his shirt on. It looks like the person
sitting next to him is wearing like a full face mask.
It's Kane apparently, is it okay? Well, that wouldn't make sense.
I did say, did see O b J like giving
his gloves to Kanye's kids before the game started? All right?

(51:47):
The way? Both both running games not looking very good
until the mixing run. Um, you may have to start
either abandoning that or you know, going with short shorter passes. Right,
so the Rams on first down and run the football.
Looks like that'll be the last play of the first quarter,
but seven or three first quarter analysis, we hold on,
We're gonna get one more play here, aren'ty before the
end of the first quarter or they gotta Okay, so

(52:10):
into the first quarter of the Rams lined up like
they wanted to run a play. They'll have a second
down and a little over ten yards maybe ten and
a half from the twenty four yard line when play resumes.
But let's hey, let's go around the horn here, aren'ty?
Obviously we start with you first quarter thoughts as now
it's in the books. Um, I thought there were some
nerves out there the obviously the first big decision came

(52:31):
now with Cincinnati. It was good to see at least
did they had the goods to do this and go
for it on fourth down. Joe Burrow is look shaky,
but he's still got that um, you know, big pass
and then got him down for a field goals. So
that was big to get those three points. Maybe those
nerves wear off now as the game moves on, Stafford
I thought, looked, okay, I mean, my goodness, six for
six is nothing to sneeze about it. Um, the Rams

(52:53):
are looking good. They're not running the ball well. If
they're running If they run the ball well, they could
have a more of a lead. So they're they're playing
pretty conserved good or you know, somewhat conservative. Cooper cup
as a as a as a catch, so um, you know,
O'Dell got the they got the touchdown though it was entertaining.
First quarter right now? Uh, Danny g anything that really
stood out to you from the Fox Sports radio studios

(53:15):
and quarter one? Yeah, like a lot of America, I
spent days on DraftKings. I missed the coin toss. I
hit the over though on Mickey giton with the national anthem,
so I was loving that and had McPherson as the
first score for the Bengals. So happy about a couple
of the bets there in the first quarter, I think,
and Chris as Raider fans, as a fellow Raider fan,

(53:37):
you know exactly what I'm gonna say here. How many
times did you see Greg Olsen or car because he
would audible into this sometimes just stubbornly run Josh Jacobs
up the middle for two yards and then do it again,
and then do it again. And we saw a little
bit of that with the Bengals against Kansas City, even
when they were behind, they were stubborn with mixing. So

(53:59):
I hear what are an he's saying about he'd rather
throw some more short passes. But we've seen the Bengals
be a little bit stubborn with running Nixon. Yeah, I agree.
I would say I'm anything that's caught your eye early on, Yeah,
I mean just a slow go is usually you know,
the first quarters, just slow to get going, both teams
sort of shaking the rest off, feeling each other out.
That's that's my main observation. But it looks like a
you know, they both put together a nice drive here,

(54:20):
so hopefully get some more scoring. I like what d
n G said, uh the seger in in kind of
talking about the idea that we've seen a team that
stubbornly feels like, oh, I've got to run here. I
liked what the Rams did on that what second drive,
and I like what the Bengals hit on their last drive.
They open it up a little bit. Steve agrees, by

(54:40):
the way, I saw that big bed where um, somebody
bet a hundred thousand dollars on the Rams in the
first quarter, hundred thousand dollars in the Rams in the
first half, hundred thousand dollars on the Rams in the game.
So that's that's gonna be quite the payout. Chris, Okay,
what the heck is this commercial right now? It's creeping
me up? Are you watching this? I saw with the
freaky phase in the might turn my head. I got
more to watch. That's the Jordan's Peel movie. Uh trailer,

(55:04):
there is two they like to the good days of
the Daddy dot com commercials and stuff like dot come
on and now they are showing the Pro Football Hall
of Fame and ductees. Are you surprised by how big
this class is? Arenie eight people and names like Brian
Song and Richard Seymour, Leroy Butler. Yeah, nothing sexy out there,

(55:25):
but there were certainly were very deserving. So it was
good to see that class get in. And now the
Rams will the ball that will have it. It wasn't
second and eleven from their own twenty four yard line.
I'm with you. I think it's time for Los Angeles
to start opening it up a little bit more. When
they threw on the last. On the drive before the last,
they had a lot of success, a little better job

(55:46):
protecting Matt Stafford, but he sales one for Cooper Cup.
You know, it's it's kind of wild you think about it, Arnie,
with Robert Woods. Now the re showing that hit that
I told you to keep an eye on. The re
showing the wet All hit on Mixon in which Mixon
was deemed up. Weddell was holding his shoulder. He don't
care this last football game. He's gonna play. They're checking

(56:08):
on him on the sidelines, but you could tell that
that absolutely stung both him and Joe Mixon. I think
it's something to keep an eye on the rest of
the game. But man, the Rams have had to really
work hard to get their depth rebuilt at a receiver
with Robert Woods injury, trying to get Odell Beckham Jr.
Acclimated meanwhile, still building their offensive line. And how did

(56:31):
Odell Beckham Jr. Get that wide open? Arty? Did someone
fall down in coverage first down rams into Bengal's territory.
I believe no that. Yeah, they said somebody deep. They
had Odell cutting across the middle. He got picked off
by his own player. The defender got picked off by
his old player. That left Odell just wide open. After
the catch, I went for like another seemed like twenty

(56:51):
yards after that one, so um once once his old player.
It was all down after that friendly fire. Nope, no
p I literally yeah, yeah, I think it was von
Bell bumped into his own guy exactly. And by the way,
Whitworth had a nasty block there. He's looked great. I
had completely. That's one of the storylines. They've got it

(57:12):
at the fort on the red zone. Now, my friend
and Staffords go ahead. I mean, you talk about a
guy that's been wanting this moment from day one. He
looks phenomenon there and he just got the rams inside
the red zone. Yeah, a little throwback on a fake
pitch and he threw a dime to Henderson. I mean,
an absolute dime. Yeah, what they have Logan Wilson out

(57:33):
there the linebacker and coverage on the running back. And
that's just I mean, listen, I love I love Logan Wilson,
I love the Bengals backers, but that's a mismatch every
single it was Hendrickson. For goodness sakes, it was their
edge guy that had to try to cover him down
the field even worse. So give Sean McVeigh some credit
and that offensive staff um Zach Robinson, his quarterbacks coach. Uh,

(57:58):
they've done a nice job in scheme, some things up
early there at the sixteen yard line and they're driving
right now. Why in the world do they run the
football well? Because Henderson has been solid. Okay, we've got
to take our first break of our number two to go.
In the first half, the Rams are driving. They lead
the Bengal seven to three. It's Super Bowl fifty six

(58:18):
in you on Fox Sports Radio. Here's a playful Cooper
cuts in the end zone. Stafford season Backpiline cuts Cooper clutch.
The most complete receding season in NFL history now includes
a Super Bowl touchdown. Six straight games with a touchdown

(58:42):
for Cooper Cup. But they missed the extra points. It was.
It wasn't a bad stop. The holder just dropped so
they weren't able to go ahead and get the conversion
on that. By the way, Cincinnati, big drive here. Um,
they're starting to move the all. If I'm Cincinnati, well,
I was gonna say, there's no punting. There's all four

(59:04):
and own territory in this. They are in field goal range.
You gotta get at least three points to get back
within one score. But very important that they get points
out of this drive. Loki m VP candidate Joe Mixon
is having a heck of a first half. Oh, Matthew
Stafford already won that. Okay, four carries for thirty one
yards for Joe Mixon had a fourteen yard run, but yeah,

(59:27):
you're at Matt Stafford. Pretty impressive seven yards, two scores,
as we mentioned, big game for both receivers. Cooper Cup
already two catches for thirty one yards and a score.
Odell Beckham Jr. Two catches fifty two yards in the school.
And I'm not gonna point fingers, but if you ever
hear anybody say Matt staff and he just bad his dad,
he's no good. You gotta get on that guy or

(59:49):
whoever that is. I'm not saying anybody particular, Gris, but
but if if somebody does say that, okay minus one
eighty for Cooper Cup to score a touchdown tonight, it matches.
So kudos to Cooper Cup. Are you are you? Are
you playing? Is it is that Bernie Fratto that you're
pointing a finger at. But I'll pointed at Bernie too

(01:00:12):
when I speak to Bernie next. Remember, I want you
to those something. When the Rams signed Stafford, I said, congratulations, Um,
you just won the Super Bowl. I would have put
everything at that moment. It was I love Stafford. I
was a big fan of his, and um, I was
gonna put money on him winning the m v P.
The Ram's winning the Super Bowl. I love everything about him.
So a third down here. Already they've had success throwing

(01:00:33):
the football. Um, they've had success. Well, let me rephrase
that they've had success on early downs running. The Bengals, though,
seem to have struggled on later downs running. You gotta
put the ball in the air here on third and six, right,
you're in field goal range to at least make a
thirteen to six, But you want to come away with
more than three, right, And if it's close enough, what's
the magic number fourth and two? Do you go for

(01:00:54):
gold forward or do you take the points? And it's
not gonna make a difference anyway, because the Bengals are
gonna pick up the first out and they're gonna be
inside the red zone on a big completion by Joe Burrow. Hey,
you know, I thought that this would be a game
in which, you know, neither team would be able to
get things going early on. But you've seen a pretty
good mix of offenses having success and uh then the

(01:01:15):
defense is adjusting and and and shutting them down to
the offenses adjusted. Now the Bengals are pushing. Is Arnie
just mentioned a big pick up who they hit on? That?
Is that Higgins open on the fourth and one that
was incomplete earlier in the games first touchdown? Yeah, and
he makes the catch that powers his way forward into
the red zone. So go Joe Burrow. His numbers really

(01:01:39):
good to start this football game. Eight of thirteen, four
ninety five yards. You get the sense now when you're
sitting at the nineteen yard line, you feel like you're
in gimme range, Arnie for a potential field goal. But
I feel like you also kind of look at the
scoreboard and think, Okay, let's come away with seven here, right,
and again, you don't want to walk away with the three. UM,

(01:02:00):
But do you go for it on a fourth and one?
And fourth and two? They already decided to go forward
on fourth down. The seager said that you don't see
a lot of it. Only two times in the history
of the Super Bowl did it happened? Um the last
one the Chiefs went for it on the five year
old line. If you do go forward on fourth down,
it's ruly inside the red zone. UM, where you want
to pass on the field goal. But when you're down
by ten, Chris, I've got to walk away with the

(01:02:21):
points and get back within one score. Jeff Schwartz just
brought up a great point our partner here on Fox
Sports Radio. The one thing with Cincinnati is they might
fall behind in games. When Joe Burrow gets in a rhythm,
he's really hard to stop. It's really hard to get
after him. I mean it's two steps and boom, and
he's finding his guys. He's really starting to get into
a rhythm. And that second down passa Joe Mixon put

(01:02:42):
Cincinnati in a third and very manageable. Here, do you
decide we're gonna go for it on four downs right
here and run on and run on and on third
doubt and just say, whatever it is, we're gonna do
it down again on fourth down? Or are you gonna
go and pass the ball here? Starting too? At deal eleven,
I think I run the football already with the success
and mix in his hat. Well, that's why you're not
the coach, because they're gonna pass it. Well they're actually

(01:03:04):
he passed it, but they're gonna have to call it
a run because it was a backwards pass. And they
were lucky that he caught it, Chris, because he not
caught it, that would have been a fumble and they
picked up the first down. What a gratuitous gratuitous play
on that. Yeah, they got lucky. They tried to throw.
Uh they run that little whooping motion it's kind of
arena football lesque and burrow through it just to step

(01:03:27):
behind Jamar Chase and he made the catch and then
turn it up field to get the first down. That
was big people. People are gonna miss that and just
you know, kind of overlooked that that was a big catch.
He drops that that's a live football and anybody getting
ram scooped out up they go six the other way. Geez,
I think it's his second one handed catch that he's
had already this game. He had to bring in the

(01:03:48):
second hand, but Jamar Jake said will be ruled a
running play though, since that he gets back to the ground,
they'll have its second and goal from about the seven
yard line. All right, the Sega owes as an update
as the Bengals knock on door, Steve, what's going on?
It is thirteen three Rams about six minutes last second quarter.
They lead Cincinnati. Thirteen to three was the final Super

(01:04:09):
Bowl score when the Rams were in it three years ago.
By the way, I remember, the league's best offense only
scored three against New England. Has everybody update on what's
going on? Belichick completely outcoached Seawan McVeigh. It's now McVeigh
against his former assistant, and Joe Mixon has just thrown
a touchdown pass to T Higgins for the moment thirteen

(01:04:30):
to nine extra point pending. You know that Rams Patriots
super Bowl that was three three mid fourth quarter. I
can say already this is a little better game than that.
Way we have five seven to go in the second quarter,
and you mentioned the botched extra point by the holder
Johnny Hecker and the Rams. That's why it's only thirteen
to ten. Now thirteen ten is the current score. Rams

(01:04:52):
lead by three because the Bengals have just put together
a twelve play, seventy five yards scoring drive. They got
their first two third down conversions of this game on
this drive. The stat that you mentioned about going forward
on fourth down, that's rare in first quarters of Super Bowls.
We are into the second quarter now ten Rams. Have
you noticed that Matthew Stafford has literally a perfect passer

(01:05:16):
rating to this point. In the last twenty years of
Super Bowls, the only other guy that had a perfect
passer rating through four drives of a Super Bowl was
Matt Ryan, who got the big lead for the Fouldons
that I wonder how that turned out. The Bengals have
been a come from behind team, as we mentioned earlier
in the show, But passer rating, as confusing as it
can be, does essentially takes into account you moving the ball,

(01:05:40):
getting it down the field. Sacks are not taking into account.
You can throw an in completion. Matthew Stafford's nine of
ten hundred twenty seven yards, two touchdowns, and yes, a
perfect passer rating. You mentioned the last segment about Andrew Whitworth,
who is the Walter Payton Man of the Year for
this season. He's just the third player to start in
a Super Bowl at age forty year older. That joins

(01:06:01):
Tom Brady and Jerry Rice. And here he's starting in
a Super Bowl against his old team Cincinnati, and will
this be his last game in the NFL. We've got
a couple of very young coaches. In other words, both
younger than Andrew Whitworth's Sean McVeigh just turned thirty six.
He would become the youngest head coach to win a
Super Bowl. Currently that belongs to Mike Tomlin Pittsburgh super

(01:06:23):
Bowl forty three. This Super Bowl, in fact, is the
first NFL playoff game in the whole Super Bowl era
in which both head coaches are under age forty and
the real stunning staties in any of the four major sports.
The last time in a championship round we had head
coaches facing each other under age forty was the NBA Finals,

(01:06:43):
with a young pat Riley of the Lakers against young
Billy Cunningham. Billy so it's been a while. These are
two kids on the sidelines, and he's already talking about
taking time off. The Rams lead thirteen to ten. The
Bengals offense is finally going with that seventy five yard drive,
so they answer a Ram seventy five yard touchdown drive.

(01:07:04):
The Gulf's finally over Phoenix open went to three playoff hole.
Scottie Scheffler gets not only the win today, his first
career tour victory at the Winter Olympics, US men's hockey
beat Germany three to two to advance to the quarterfinals
with a three and oh record. US women's hockey plays
the semifinal tomorrow morning our time against Finland and NBA
wins for Boston and Minnesota. Back to you, I want
the weather tech guys all over my car. Let's go.

(01:07:28):
Let's go um on the wrestle Madia promo. Oh my,
this is great game so far as de Sager just
gave us all the details. Thirteen to ten, All right, Lartie,
I mean there's five sevent ago in the first half.
The Bengals have responded to the first right hook from

(01:07:50):
the Los Angeles Rams. No one said must score a
territory yet but wouldn't mind see the Rams go down
to get some points, especially with their botched extra point Here, Chris,
who's happier Ram fans that they have a thirteen ten leader?
Bengal fans have to survive that first punch in the
jaw and they were down thirteen three. They didn't pick
up that fourth and one, But they've bounced back in
its third teen ten, and you're gonna get the ball

(01:08:11):
back to start the second half. I'm not so sure.
If I'm a Bagel fan, I'm pretty happy where my
team sits right now. Out If I'm a Ram fan, yeah,
I'm happy because I have the lead. So both fan
bases got to be happy. I guess where they are
right now. Okay, So I think there'd be two things
that would concern me for the Rams. One of them
is you haven't been able to get the running game going.

(01:08:32):
You're leading rusher is Matt Stafford right now with seven yards.
That would concern me, But I feel like that can
be offset by the fact that, I mean, if it
feels like Guardi Cooper Cup and Odell Beckham Jr. Can
get open whenever they want against Cincinnati right now, So
that would make me that would offset the frustration with
the lack of running game. And they had lack of

(01:08:52):
running game last game as well. Remember the offense is
a team two and a half yards per carry, but
they held the normally good Sam Francisco run game to
about two and a half yards per carry, the exact
numbers last game, twenty nine carries. As a team, Rams
had seventy nine yards rushing. Again, as they said earlier,
there as healthy as they've been for what it's worth
at the running backs. But just as you say that,

(01:09:13):
the Rams opened up with a running play and and
pick up a healthy six yards and pick up a
first Yeah, pick up a first down, and now they're
close to midfield, they're gonna have the ball on their
own forty five yard line. It's gonna be first intent
right now. I'll say that the one thing that really
has kind of stood out to me, Guys Arnie on
the big play that pushing them out to the forty
four yard line, it's just a little flare pass and Jefferson,

(01:09:37):
I mean that's been a couple of the big plays
to throw the Cooper Cup was a little flare pass
and there's no one out there from Cincinnati, there's no
one within ten yards of them. They're they're playing the
clock here also, Chris, because they know that Cincinnati gets
the ball to start the sick and half off. Last
thing you want to do is give him the ball
back where they get the double scores. So they're gonna
chew up all this clock, even if they come away

(01:09:58):
with no points. But even they come away with a
field goal, they're gonna make sure there's nothing left for
for Cincinnati so they don't get a double cracking. Rams
don't have a drive longer than three and a half
minute so far in the first half. Of course, you
could say with two touchdowns they haven't needed one either.
Also noticed with Matthew Stafford, how he has spread it around,
how he's not getting pressured either. Six different guys have
catches in the first half. This is so compelling right

(01:10:21):
now to see the different kind of plans that are
laying out right. You see McVeigh being a little bit
more patient with the clock. They're running down, They're they're like,
for instance, they're just they're not even breaking huddle. I
know again at your feets a little ahead of ours,
but they're just now breaking the huddle. With thirteen on
the play clock, I think Snoop just took the stage

(01:10:42):
on Arnie's TV. Yeah, exactly. In fact, they just kicked
off the second half. Now I've realized it's not a
thing that already can't do. It's a thing he doesn't
want to do, Chris, because not only was there incomplete,
but there's somebody who's hurt and he's a big factor.
I don't know what happened. I think he played this
foot in the ground. Odell Beckham Junior is down, he's

(01:11:02):
taking his helmet off his knee. Um. It doesn't look
good right now, Chris, because he's wincing in pain. They're
gonna go to a commercial break. I saw that when
he dropped it. Before he dropped it, you knew, you
knew there was something wrong. And then after the drop
you saw that he clutched his knee. And I don't
want to speculating. They're going to commercial it is and

(01:11:23):
Odell Beckham injury for certain with under four minutes to
go in the second quarter. Oh my gosh, see you
picked the rams and this is what happened. You just
cursed Odell Beckham Jr. Again. You don't want to speculate,
but the way in the way he was trapping non contact. No, yeah,
well he in his hands right he he like it's

(01:11:47):
one of those things where you know you're getting twisted back,
so you just dropped the football or you're in a
bad position. Um, he knew right away that something happened
to his knee and it it just kind of dropped
the football. The first thing he did was to the
watch out his knees so again and he was down.
You know, when you start taking your helmet off and
you're laying on the ground, you know, hopefully it's he's
gonna be okay. But remember it's a it is a turf,

(01:12:10):
not a grass field. Just for the record, let's see
what Pro Football doc is saying. You know, people are
probably already blowing him up about it right now on Twitter.
But I mean again, you like you said, aren't you
never want to speculate, but that had like an A
C L concerned Jeff Schwartz already brutal injury for Odel.

(01:12:30):
I hate to see it. Um yeah, all kinds of
people are Beckham's current stats. They've targeted him three times,
two receptions, fifty two yards and a touchdown. In the
first half. Rams are leading thirteen to ten late first half,
but they're in a time out. So when we come
back on Fox Sports Radio, we'll try to give you
an update on exactly how severe this injury to Odell

(01:12:52):
Beckham Jr. Truly is. He has had a fantastic start
to the Super Bowl. Two catches, fifty two yards and
a down, but he's down in the Rams face a
third and long. When we come back, thirty nine Los
Angeles from their own forty five yard line. They lead
with three four to go in the first half of
the Super Bowl. Thirteen Tin over the Bengals. You got

(01:13:15):
say he did walk his way to the medical temper.
He was a good son. We'll get you all the details.
Next right here on Fox Sports Radio, Higgins sample and
boyd out to the right and a cluster. The Bengals
toss it to the right next and throws into the
back of the young phone hit his car by Tay Higgins,
touchdown Bengals. That was the Cincinnati Bengals scoring play that

(01:13:42):
made it thirteen to ten at the time. Bengals Radio
Networks first running back to throw a touch john Sins
first running back for Joe mixing a throw a touchdown
in the Super Bowl since Lawrence mccutchen's right famous l
a at the Rose Bowl guys night, but the last

(01:14:03):
known quarterback to throw a touchdown pass in the Super Bowl.
And he guesses, yeah, Phillip, specially you bet you Trey
Burton for the Eaters. Do you remember also Steelers Antoine
Randall l through one about fifty's terrible decision by by
Matthew Stafford. Terrible. Here's what it's He sent Van Jefferson long.
But Bates was there for the interception in I have

(01:14:26):
one quick gripe about this. But first, this was the
call of Stafford trying to do a little bit too much.
Stafford from the pocket, looking scrambling left, squares his shoulders,
points deep fires towards the end zone. Intercepted into end zone,
hit us picked up by Jesse Bates and the Bengals.
We'll get the ball at intercept Matthew Stafford. That is beautiful,

(01:14:51):
nice big radio network Dave Lapping analysis again, Yes, yes, no, yeah,
he's trying to do is where he sees the plan.
He goes and something big is going to happen right here,
and he tries to drag it out the ten seconds

(01:15:14):
until we can. Actually, I can tell you this. I
thought Joe Burrow was well, they were conservative, but I
thought that maybe they'd be happy just to go in
the locker room down thirteen ten. But no, they're gonna
They're gonna go ahead and try to you know, they
just picked up a first down and they'll try to
get in the field goal range in this one. And
they've got all three of their time outs as well.
Here's here's my quick grinch on the throat of the
end zone. I know that you're down, Odell Beckham Jr.

(01:15:36):
Now we're waiting for a potential update on that. But
if you're Jefferson, you gotta go up and at least
make a play. I mean, you just can't stand there
like something. I mean he basically stood there and and
and did nothing. Burrow had his first true pressure from
Aaron Donald and threw it away. So second down of
ten for Cincinnati. Who is the Bengal that just playing

(01:15:58):
in sweatpants? And I saw him in the end Yeah,
I don't know who that is. They just they just
circled him. But he's out there celebrating. You don't not
the word pads. I didn't know that with everybody. I mean,
first of all, if you're if you're hurt, I mean,
what are you doing? Secondly, I guess it makes sense.
But yeah, calmed down a little bit. Now, what took

(01:16:20):
it flak for that? At some point? Here's a big
decision here, because it's gonna be third and five, the
clock is gonna stop. There's forty seven seconds left of
the Rams have two time outs, the Bengals still with
all three. So what are you gonna do in this situation?
Are you gonna be conservative, run the ball, make the
Rams use the time out punted back to them, or
are you gonna try to pick up the first down
and get some points here? Okay, I gotta say something.

(01:16:43):
That sideline official ruled the clock running when he went out.
Did you see that? No? I thought for sure it
was out of bounds. I must have missed that. So
the Bengals had to use their first time out, which
is interesting. But yeah, that official came over and the
guys out of bounds. He's pushing. We are getting so

(01:17:06):
damn fine on the sidelines that we're not really giving
credit when guys get out of play like it looked
like happened on that play was at Duboyit. So Bengals
do use the time out instead of trying to let
the clock run a little bit here, So aren't they
gonna be aggressive on third down? Conservative? Here? Bengals are
among the best in football at scoring in the last

(01:17:27):
two minutes, in fact, among the best in recent years.
The bad news is they're deep at their own end
to start this. After the interception, the Rams are gonna
go ahead and get a sack on Joe Burrow. So, um,
it was a quick whistle too. He looked like the
Pro Bowl of such a quick Leonard Floyd gets the sack,

(01:17:47):
the Rams their first sack of the game that they've
had pretty good pressure, and I'm glad they did blow
the whistle because I think Floyd was about to throw
Joe Burrow around. Um, I don't are we still allowed
to say like a rag doll? Or is that? And
I was gonna say like and Dominican thu? But there
that's a third down sack in a minus a yard.
So we had forty two seconds left in the first half.

(01:18:09):
Rams are gonna be getting it on the punt return.
Thirteen to ten. Rams lead on the interception, but they
missed out on some points. Did you guys see how
many guys were blocking Aaron Donald? The Bengals had three
offensive linemen blocking Aaron Donald on that. I saw a
great next gen stad this week that Aaron Donald. I
believe it was a twenty eight percent pressure rate wild

(01:18:32):
double teamed this season, which is equal to t. J.
Watts pressure rate overall. Pro football Doc has talked on Twitter.
He said his fear and what he saw on the
replay is a left knee a c L tear. He said,
I hope I'm wrong. Who did I say? I didn't say, Okay.
Odell Beckham Jr. When he got hurt, his fear is

(01:18:53):
a left knee a c L tear. He hopes he's wrong.
Left foot sticks in turf and knee shifts non contact.
You can see his knee shift right when he plans
tough break. Looks like Odell Beckham has done all right. Listen,
we're running out of time and our number two as
we head towards halftime of the Super Bowl thirteen to ten, Artie,

(01:19:18):
there's thirty seconds left. You're gonna get the football on
your own. Let's see where sparting that forty one yard line.
The game stats officially say, you're aggressive here, right you go?
You trying to score six remaining? You still have one
time out. Absolutely, they go to, I, uh sorry, one

(01:19:40):
time out left, thirty seconds left, your own forty one. Um,
you're a good uh one, fifteen to twenty yards away
from field goal range. You gotta go for it. Matt
Stafford has been fantastic in the first half of Super
Bowl fifty six. He's eleven and fifteen for a hundred
and fifty six yards and two scores. Does have the
one interception? Does he have another big drive in him

(01:20:02):
left in the first half. We'll find out when we
come back. Also, we tag out Iowa Sam, tag in Bobo,
great job tonight, Iowa Sam. It's Arnie and Plank as
we cover Super Bowl fifty six on Fox Sports Radio.
This is automatically in sync with what's going on in

(01:20:25):
the halftime show right now. This is awesome. So I'm
glad we took a break when we did. I got
to get a little flavor of it. Um. And I
kept saying this to Bobo and He's probably like, shut up, dude,
I'm trying to listen to the show. But they sound great.
I mean, Dre sounds great. Snoop sounds great. Eminem Um, Yeah,

(01:20:47):
that's sounded great. That's the thing. There's no lip syncing.
His son's not quite down yet. I don't know what
kind of effect that would have had, but I don't know.
I thought it's pretty awesome, Marty. I thought I'm done.
All right, here's my here's my take. I like the
halftime show. It's not the best on the West Coast.

(01:21:08):
I would have honestly preferred the game over fifty cents.
I would have preferred the game come out and performed.
I wanted the game also, but I'm okay waiting until
a little bit, a couple more minutes. Arnie, you got it,
You've got it. Never mind. I was gonna say something,
but I don't want to if you sit down, my back.
But I mean, I'm satisfied with it. They were. They

(01:21:30):
all sounded great. It was live. It wasn't nothing pre recorded,
which is like one of the stipulations for the halftime show.
I enjoyed it, like you were saying in a commercial break,
like think about how much planning went into that and
making sure that the mics worked at the drums work,
that the speakers worked like that, everything was set up
to run flawlessly because it was a live show. It

(01:21:53):
was a good show for what six artists that came
out right. I just honestly would have the game would
have been a better fit. I'm reading some of the criticisms.
I'm like, well, some of the negatives like this is
the best uh concert of two thousand four I ever seen,
And so it's like I'm checking my calendar, is this

(01:22:15):
half time Joe two thousand two or twenty twenty two?
So you can say that about most of the halftime show,
like think about when Prince performed, when Michael when Michael
Jackson's always Michael Jackson. But like you can say that
about literally almost anybody. There's very few artists that are
like actually hot and like you know, relevant at the time,

(01:22:37):
Like mine is Beyonce minus Black Eyed Peas, minus Bruno Mars.
But you can go down the whole list of people.
That's like when the last time you know, these people
put out singles like chart topping singles. Okay, can I
give you can I just say Mike kill also put
this out what you wanted? I mean he said the
no hologram thing, Um, no pok hologram. But the half

(01:22:59):
to show was fired, So I think a lot of
people kind of expected. What would you saying? How about this? Um,
this is actually really dumb joke, but I'm gonna go
with it. At nature boyl on Twitter rights Fitty looks
more like three fitting now listen, agreed, we didn't look
he didn't look a skinny sofa. But I gotta I

(01:23:23):
gotta say, you know, and again you guys like to
laugh at me because I want to be like a
SOCW guy. I want to be an l A guy.
But I'm the most uh simple hay seed on the
planet that I get lost when I come to l A.
But that was about outside of the game. That was
about as l as you could get with halftime shows. Yeah,

(01:23:43):
just imagine if the game would have came out. I'm
not dropping. That is phenomenal. A lot of people are saying,
that's the best half time show ever. No, that's not
the best. No, not t J A guy here in
Fox at best halftime show ever ever. It is up there,
it is, it's up there, but it's not ever. I
don't see nothing beating Michael. Michael was pretty dope. Prince

(01:24:04):
was pretty dope, Beyonce's was phenomenal. Uh, Bruno Mars was
fired like it's a lot, But I don't I don't
see this as the best ever. Did they get away
without dropping any bombs? Yes? Oh my gosh, they actually
Kendrick Lamar actually redid his lines on the song. Yeah,

(01:24:27):
like he literally did. The whole line was completely different
from what even the clean version is here. Here's the
last three tweets that I have just from friends of mine,
of mind tongue alright, our buddy Lukey Sterling writes best ever,
my buddy long duck sports math uh. And then Caroline Grace,
who's the TV person down in Alabama. I love the
halftime show ten out of ten. Mike tinder RONI said

(01:24:54):
best ever. They should have cut Mary J. Blige and
gave eminm more time. She did do a second song, right,
and that was how many songs were there? That's a
great question. Everybody did too? Okay, alright, so there was ten? No?
The over under that? No, No, eight and a half
was eight and a half was the over? Or you
could bet under ten and a half? Okay? Question question.

(01:25:18):
They started playing a couple of songs that they didn't
necessarily go into. He started playing I Ain't matt at You,
and that was a moment I was like, I'm gonna cry.
That's what I thought. They were going to roll out
like a six four with Tupac you know, painted on
it or something they needed to tip their cap, you
know somehow. That's that was That was pretty cool. So

(01:25:42):
now we get to fire into the second half, right,
we get to start wondering, Okay, that chronic and constant
question that Artie and I have had all six previous
Super Bowls that we've done this show together. How do
you how do you get ready for a second half
after a break like that? What's what's the challenge and
re engaging? It's almost as if you had an entire

(01:26:04):
game off. During halftime, Chris I asked you if who
are you happy? Are you happy if you're a Rams
fan coming in with the lae thirteen ten um though
you could have probably gone up a little bit more
had you not thrown the interception? Are you happy if
you're a Bengals fan even though you're down thirteen ten um?
But you did get the interception, and you were down

(01:26:24):
thirteen three, and you closed the gap at Odell Beckham Jr.
Is hurt. If I just feeling the room, just feeling
the vibe as we get ready for this like an half,
I would feel like Cincinnati is the upbeat and ready
to roll, and maybe the Rams could be a little
bit passive because of the injury. If I'm Cincinnati in
this first drive, which is what I expected for them

(01:26:46):
to do when they open the game, I'm coming out
plays and I'm like, guys, thirteen ten, we're thirty minutes
away from accomplishing what we wanted to do and win
the Super Bowl. Let's just open it up, leave nothing
on that field. Let's just just go bombs away and
and come out blazing. That's what I'm doing from the Bengals. Well,
since Natty, we'll get the football to start the second half.

(01:27:06):
Let's take a full recap of the first half, taking
things off with what's trending and Steve this sacred. What's
going on? Steve, Hello, gentlemen, And the tweets are rolling
in on the halftime performances from our people, Jason Smith
saying Prince is still the best halftime, but woe, this
was close. Doug Gottlieb heck of a show. Aaron Torres
DR DRE for Super Bowl m v P. Joey Taylor

(01:27:27):
said that was amazing. Our George Reister said super Bowl
halftime was Legit did not disappoint Bucky Brooks. I appreciate
the throwback moments created by the halftime show. Jason Smith
halftime show greater than first half. It was good. This
was not a bad first half of Super Bowl fifty
six and the Rams in their home stadium lead thirteen

(01:27:49):
to ten. Keys to the first half. Cincinnati on its
first drive went forward on fourth and one at midfield
and through an incompletion, they were stopped and the Rams
immediately went fifty rd's in six plays the other way
for the first score and a seven nothing lead. Unfortunately,
the guy who had that first score, Odell Beckham, the
next quarter got injured. That's another key to the game.

(01:28:11):
The Rams wide receiver is quote questionable to return, but
we all saw it going down with a knee injury
non contact up on artificial turf, leaving in the second quarter.
Other keys to the first half, the fact that it's
not fourteen to ten Rams, is that going to come
back to bite them After their second score a touchdown
pass to Cooper Cup. The extra point was botched as

(01:28:33):
the hold was dropped and the holder wound up throwing
an interception. So just a thirteen to ten lead as
we hit the second half. You know, the Bengals offense
started very, very slowly, and yet, as we've mentioned many times,
this is a comeback team playoffs, and otherwise, by no
means were they out of the game early, and they're
only down three at this point. Joe Barrow twelve of

(01:28:55):
eighteen passing, Matthew Stafford twelve of eighteen passing Stafford a
undred sixty five yards, two touchdowns, one interception that was
a long bomb into the end zone. As for the
earlier sports news, just two NBA games on Super Bowl Sunday,
wins for Boston and Minnesota. The NBA All Star Game
is next Sunday night in Cleveland. The NASCAR season officially

(01:29:16):
starts next Sunday with the Daytona five hundred on Fox TV.
At the Winter Olympics, US Men's hockey beat Germany three
to two, and the Phoenix Open went to Scottie Scheffler
in a playoff, his first career tour victory. The second
half is just kicked off lead thirteen ten over the
Bengals back to you, well, um, here we are. Zach

(01:29:36):
Taylor told NBC were in a great space and told
his team, quote, let's go win the super Bowl because
while we've meanwhile the beckumentary thanks to Dr Chow great
get Danny g h quote doesn't look good. According to
Ram's head coach Shawn m can you rup up the
halftime showing this one thing? What shady Shawn sent us?

(01:29:57):
Or um, I don't think that's real? Are that's not
really okay because I didn't know. I didn't get to
see the end of the insulation. It came from an
NFL memes page. So and also I don't think eminem
taking a knee daring forgot about Dre Is making some
sort of political statement. Oh my goodness, touchdown Bengals on
the first play of the second seventy five yards to

(01:30:19):
T Higgins and the Bengals have the lead in the
opening seconds of the third quarter. What did I tell
you they should do? I say, I'm gonna go ahead.
We're going for the baby, We're We're coming out of
the guns of blazon. Looks like Jalen Ramsey got burned um.
Let's watch the replay. He was in one on one coverage.
He was kind of surprised. Seventh well extra point pinning

(01:30:41):
sixteen thirteen Cincinnati with four to go. I love the
replaces that we're getting right now, Artie. It's just everyone
looking up at the scoreboard. The Bengals. He's coming out
for the extra points. Stayed on the field during halftime.
Uniform to what Danny G said, Ramsey just straight up
fell down. So McPherson wasn't affected too much by the

(01:31:04):
concert as he banks through the extra point. Wow, big
time play to start the second half. As I mean,
one of the best corners in the game. Here's our
first Oh no, wait a minute, he didn't just fall down.
It looked like he was grabbed down by the face mask.
And they did I miss see that he was grabbed

(01:31:26):
out by the face mask. They missed the penalty and barely.
Oh no, no, no, no, he grabbed it by the
face mask. He pulled. No, that's a pedal. He turned
the defensive bund No, you have to remember first half,
Jalen Ramsey was not called. That doesn't two rights don't

(01:31:50):
make it wrong. Was obvious. No, he yanked his head
to the side. He got an advantage. It's one thing
to put your hands on the defender and cause some separation,
to get the heads on the face mask. No, No,
that's a terrible miscall. Who had Tee Higgins for two touchdowns?
Because remember he had the reception from Joe Mixon in
the second quarter and the Bengals have a seventeen thirteen

(01:32:12):
sixteen seconds into the first and second half and they've
taken the lead. No, that's that's gonna be that. People
are gonna be talking about that all day tomorrow. If
they if the Bengals go on to win this game,
they better any they're gonna say the same exact thing
Steve just said. In fact, if you're following NFL Twitter,
there were two penalties that could have been called on

(01:32:33):
Ramsey early in the game. This one was a touchdown.
This one ended in a touchdown. There's a difference. You
just can't go and compare both of them. A couple
of problems. Did they say they don't blow the whistle
in the Super Bowl? They don't throw thet's. That's not
like holding the saker, that's that's not optional. Once you
get your hand on the face mask. That's an automatic call.

(01:32:56):
Oh look what just happened there? Like oh were to
go the bagels the party, I swef, I swear, Oh lord,
I will fly to wherever you are and suck you
in the throat. Don't do that this day. Don't do that.
Don't do that. Picked off off the hands of a
rams recend scronic over the middle, off his hand and

(01:33:17):
picked off what a turner. This is not even thirty
seconds into the unbelievable art. He didn't we talk about
you not doing that this game? No, no, we decided
you do it again. I'm cutting on my car if
I if I start noticing the excitement and nothing's happening.
You got here, We decided we were gonna do well.
I'm here now, so it doesn't matter if you've been

(01:33:38):
here with us since three pm Pacific. You're laughing because
we went over all of the interception by cheto Bay
who's having to pay five solo, the best on defense
so far either team so far today. So a second
interception for Matt Stafford, So is that pass not throwing
to Beckham in other words, over the middle because he's

(01:34:00):
not there? And so they more inexperienced Scronic actually tipped
it up into the air for an interception. Let's remember
it was against the Niners. When I think of the
game of the regular season, he had a touchdown that
he dropped that was right in his hands. So a
tough break for the Rams. But the Bengals already they

(01:34:22):
got a chance right here to really blow this thing
open since Stafford Aaron Donald's got a step up. Yeah,
Stafford started nine for nine and since then the Bengals
have figured them out. They've picked off two of his
passes and he's gone three of ten the rest of
the way. So Stafford, remember you had the perfect passer
rating almost he's down the eighties. Six point for it's
gone south from right now four point leave for Cincinnati,

(01:34:44):
and my goodness, the Rams are on the rope. It's
like a boxer getting hit in the corner. They gotta
stay a float there. And the exact tweet from Foxes
Mike Pereira not a good start of the second half.
The pulling of the face mask Jalen Ramsey should have
been interference or face mask. It's been a rough one
so far, so blue for Blue, but the Bengals looking

(01:35:05):
to take advantage of it. We'll get at least two
more plays on this drive, second down and ten clock
stop with fourteen thirty three to go after the incompletion. Boy,
they are I mean, I don't know if they're just
kind of building the drama of the of the right
hook to start, but there are some dazed faces right
now with those shots of the Los Angeles ram sidelines. Yeah,

(01:35:28):
it's getting very chippy now and watch out because sorry,
I'm not doing that. Jason Smith said, how do you
miss that face mask called Jalen Ramsey's head spun around?
I would add that it was kind of like an
Exorcist moment. It wasn't Linda Blair, but yeah, he's kind
of taken out just to say because he got he

(01:35:50):
got the betterfit of the doubt the first time, that
it was okay to let this one miss. Both Yeah,
and so Alartie mentioned it getting a little bit chippy.
Aaron Donald Donald chasing down Joe Burrow out of the pocket.
I mean he just gave him a little shoved much
of it, Okay, he gave a really good shove. He's

(01:36:11):
trying to get an extra yard. That was as a runner,
and then you could have called a penalty on the
punch on the sideline that a Bengal's offensive lineman through
it Donald So a little scrum over on the cinc sideline,
no flags third down. This has a chance to be
a monster hole for the Rams here because momentum is
all over the Cincinnati Bengals sideline right now. They've got it. Yeah,

(01:36:37):
you've got into what you would consider field goal territory
and they're gonna be faced with a fourth down they're
gonna go. Yeah. I don't know if this is gonna
be the right decision because I think I'd go up
by the seven points and I have one good uh
scoring there, and and the way my team's got all
the momentum, I mean, yeah, you're you're going to win
a super Bowl here, and you gotta go for the touchdown.

(01:36:58):
But man, I think I kicked the field goal goal
by seven. So it's fourth and one. It's a it's
a long one. They've got it spotted right now. Where
do you see that at the seger the twenty one
yard line, two yard line? They haven't used the quarterback sneap.
Let's let's sneak. Let's see if Joe Burrow tries to
do something here with his cadence. They're gonna run a

(01:37:20):
play on fourth and one. Look at Burrow picks it
up with his feet, so the gamble pays off. Arnie,
Are you surprised to see him not trying to kick there? No?
I again, I would have kicked it and gone up,
and then they're saying them. So we picked us up
and then we can get seven out of this good
play by Joe Burrow. Nobody was open picked up the
short first down, so he just took off on my

(01:37:41):
hat off to Arnie Finas boiling what happened. I'm only
going for the big plays. I'm waiting for the big plays.
Speaking of big plays, that seventy five yard or Joe
Burrow to t Higgins longest touchdown pass in a Super
Bowl since Jake Delone to Massine Mohammed. That is a

(01:38:02):
recall from a long time ago. All right, let's uh
it's second down to short run. Let's watch the second
down play. Then we'll take our time out here in
our number three red zone alert. The Bengals have pushing
it into the red zone. They lead a seventeen to
third team, and if you're the Rams, you need to

(01:38:26):
hold since two three. If you're Zach Taylor and you
end up in another fourth down situation, do you push
and do you go for it? This has been all
Cincinnati to start the second half, Artie. If they can
score here, it's it's gonna be third down as we
get ready for the break, and it's gonna be about
third and four. We'll see what the Bengals do in

(01:38:46):
this situation. Good job, good tackling by the Los Angeles
Rams secondary. Again, they're dealing with an injury to Eric Weddle,
who's trying to play through it as well. All right,
third down, when we come back, we'll see what the
Bengals can do. They land a knockout blow on the Rams,
or will the Rams defense stand up? Super Bowl fifty six.
We're hanging out with you, aren't in Plank on Fox

(01:39:07):
Sports Radio. All Right, the Rams have the football back
twenty thirteen. Cincinnati leads, but as Arnie hits, it was
that Darryl Henderson that they got out of the flat,
and they're gonna try to run them a bit. Running
games just says not worked for the Rams at all.

(01:39:28):
It's Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Stinking genius
that's Arnie and Stinking Genius want them at Plank Show
and everybody should be following along at Fox Sports Radio.
Tweets on your thoughts in the game. Will hit those
coming up here in just a bit. But Arnie, when
we last left you, Cincinnati gets the field goal after

(01:39:48):
a big sack by Aaron Donald and now Ram's offense
time to start picking things up a little bit. They're
dropping eight. They're forcing him to throw into tighten windows
like there to Cooper Cup for a first down to
push into the Bengals side of the field. Yeah. One
of the prop bets is what the team scored three
straight times? Well that answers now. Yes, Bengals down thirteen
three at one point. Now with elite with the three

(01:40:11):
straight scores to take seventeen straight points. Um, this was
a drive that the Rams have to have some points
out of, even if it's a field goal. They've got
to walk away with some points because you couldn't let
the Bengals come back and make this a two score difference.
Right now, Rams moving the ball, they're looking real good. Um,
they just gotta find a way to get into the ends.
On thirteen points not nearly enough for them especially, you
have to staff or do that. In our interception back

(01:40:33):
in the first half when they were moving the ball
the sacred they're finding some weapons that we haven't seen
a lot. There's Bryce Hopkins to produce tightening play right
because Odell Beckham Jr. Being out has really kind of
caused him to dive deep into their depth chart right
now at the receiver possess and remember the Sprain mcl

(01:40:53):
for each team's tight end. But Usama said, forget it,
I'm playing. He's not, but he is active. The Rams
tight end, who was also hurt couple of weeks back,
is a no go Tyler Higbee. His backup was shockingly
good five five receptions fifty seven yards last game. To update,
by the way, with the two field goals to more
field goals, I should say for Cincinnati kid Evan McPherson,

(01:41:16):
that's fourteen for fourteen this postseason and making fourteen field
goals in a single postseason ties out of Nitary's record
from two thousand six. The question now is will the
Rams blow a halftime lead and actually lose a game.
We mentioned it before the halftime show Sean McVeigh. Until
the end of this season, was something like forty six

(01:41:37):
and oh when leading at the half, and then the
Niners came from behind in the regular season finale to
win in overtime and get into the playoffs. That's literally
the only time McVeigh with the Rams has lost when
leading at halftime. Apparently it's happened once before where a
team's come from behind at halftime to win conference title
game and then come from behind at halftime to win

(01:41:58):
the Super Bowl. That was the Giants two thousand. Already,
the Rams just cannot run the football noisingly. I look,
I didn't expect to have a tough time running, but
they're really being styming up. They're not even having any
long runs at all. They haven't even broken open at all.
It's a big third down play here, and I'm not
so sure I'm gonna settle for the field goalf on
the Rams off. I'm within like two or three yards.

(01:42:19):
I gotta go for it on fourth down if that's
what happens. But uh, we'll see what they call here
the last game NFC Title game, the Rams are only
two and a half yards per carry as a team.
They're under two yards per carry as a team. Tonight
we started the paddock. Now Cooper Cup throwing incomplete, he
overshot the quarterback on the sideline. They're gonna have to punt.
That's not the ideal play for third and six at

(01:42:42):
this point of the game. Matter of fact, Cooper Cup,
if you would have kept running open I don't know.
I thought it was gonna run with open field. Geez.
That decision making there. Well, at least they're trying something different,
unlike the other Sean McVeigh Super Bowl experience where they
just had three points and get trying to You gotta
run it there if you're Cooper Cup, because even if

(01:43:02):
you don't pick up the first down, you're gonna be
close third and six and I there's no doubt he
would have picked up the first down. It's from straight away.
He should make this and it's good forty one yards
Matt Gay. So the score is Bengals twenty rams sixteen.
Think that that's gonna come back if they lose this game.
The haunt them. Um, they could have had a first
down there. Bad bad decision making the process there, And

(01:43:25):
you know I went back to play that Cup missed
at the end of the first half when he tried
to pick up a few extra yards instead of getting
out of bounds here, maybe he tucks it and runs
and gets five yards easier he had I think he had.
Didn't have Mary phrase that he rushed. He panicked a

(01:43:46):
little bit. He had more time than I think he
realized he had on that throw. Yeah, he rushed it
big time. Speaking of rushing, here's a number that is
concerning if I'm a Rams fan right now, fifty fifteen
carries yards. You're leading rushers cam Akers with ten yards

(01:44:06):
on nine carry and they're not loading up the box.
This is basically regular running plays and they're not succeeding. Again, unbelievable. Meanwhile,
the numbers for Matt Staffords still really good. Sixteen two
hundred sixteen yards, two touchdowns, but the two picks Joe
Burrow sixteen of twenty two two hundred four yards and

(01:44:27):
a touchdown. Bengals haven't really run the football all that
well in the second, but Mixon does have the touchdown.
Pass by the way on the attempted pass by cup
Trey Burton, of all people from the Eagles, has just
tweeted out to the Rams three thumbs down. Probably happy
Tom Brady after the pass that he missed, are missed

(01:44:49):
the catch on whenever he was a receiver. Alright, three down,
We're with you till the end of the Super Bowl.
The Bengals lead at I love the stat are the
visual they're putting up on NBC right now as we
welcome you in to Super Bowl fifty six. Our quote
unquote red zone version Darnian Plank on Fox Sports Radio.

(01:45:12):
Rams are driving near midfield forty seven yard line, first
and ten. The Bengals leader twenty six. Team huge, big time.
I brought it up because, Arnie, they showed a shot
of how the Bengals were built, and you and I
spent a lot of time on this, if not this
past Sunday, but the Sunday before. It was so fascinating

(01:45:33):
to look back at the four teams. And everyone thinks
there's this magic formula in order to building a team.
But you think about the Rams, the Niners, the Bengals,
and the Chiefs. All four built differently. And for instance,
with the Bengals, yeah, there's a couple of draft picks
like Logan Wilson on the defensive side of the football,

(01:45:53):
but for the most part they had been built through
free agency. On the defensive side of the football and
the offensive side to the football. Joe Burrow, Joe Mixing,
Jamaar Chase. I mean, it's Joanah Williams who was their tackle.
Those are all guys built through the draft. So it's
kind of fascinating to see how they take one side
of the football and how they view it and going

(01:46:15):
out and getting talent and how they view the other
side of the football to a certain degree. And then
with the Rams, you know, I consider the Rams build
kind of similar to what people think the Dodgers did, Like, oh,
they just went out and bought everyone that a lot
of draft picks too. They just don't realize that that's there.
You go. Cooper cup was a draft pick um obviously,
and what you've seen from Cam Akers that was a
draft pick. Uh. They've done a really nice job and

(01:46:37):
what they've been Aaron Donald was a drafting. They've done
a nice job and what they've been able to build
through the draft spinning on players. You're very good at
throwing out the couple bits. But yet then when you
look at the NFL teams, they do very poorly in
the draft. They missed it seems like it at least
more than on draft picks, maybe more than that. Even
in the first round they miss out on pick. So
I'm not exactly sure why everybody doing such a great

(01:46:59):
job that they miss out so many times on their picks.
You know, hey, a good what what do we decide?
What was the number that we saw a good percentage
for a GM is like twenty two percent? And there's
a sack from DJ Reader, a former Houston Texan. I
think Dj Reader was the first round pick. And just
when you thought the Rams had some momentum going, they

(01:47:23):
have the uh, the short pass play and then they
can't protect Matt Stafford and Hendrickson forced a little pressure
from the outside, no help on Reader, and he beat
Edwards one on one ouch. Tough spot for the Rams,
aren't he. But that's kind of in the second half,
big play by the Bengals defense. They've come up big
a couple of times. UM actually holding the Rams of

(01:47:44):
just sixty points at this at this juncture has been phenomenal,
especially when it was at three lead. Uh, and they've
just done a great job. They're gonna go ahead and
UM kind of come out underseated in this, but they've
done a great job, all right, So to kick off
our number two bubble. I know we haven't played it yet,
and I apologize it's because we've all got up in
our conversations. But this game started the second half with

(01:48:05):
the ban. Let's bring you the play by play of
the first play. This is courtesy of the Bengals Radio network.
Uh Bubba. Let's hear the excitement of a bomb to
start things for the Bengals in the second half. Brown
House scrambling fires deep down field for Higgins. Defender touches
the ball, runs it into the end zone. Yard touchdown.

(01:48:29):
Burrow to Higgins as he knocked over and ran it
into the end zone. Yes, Yes, rolled it into the
end zone for the touchdown. Arnie. What a start to
the second half for the Cincinnati Bengals. They made a

(01:48:50):
big time statement out of the second half. Locker Room
got the touchdown, then that got the pick and turned
it into it. Yeah. I don't think ram fans are
gonna bring that up. That was the uh penalty that
was missed. They let that go resulted into seventy five
yard touchdown. And that's the part when you say, well
Ramsey got away with it in the first half. Look,
this one resulted in a long play, not just in
the touchdown, but a seventy five yard touchdown to open

(01:49:13):
up the second half. I mean it's like strike one,
Strike two, Strike three, UM, terrible way, first play seventy
five yard which is a big one, and a TV
all on one penalty that was missed. You can't allow
that something like that to happen. I can't believe it's
something like that's not reviewable, but it's not well and
it's it's wild because when you when you when you

(01:49:35):
take a look at exactly kind of what Jalen Ramsey
has been about. You know, he's the trash talker, he's
gonna make a big play. To see him be front
and center, and again you're right there. There should have
been a penalty called. There aren't, Arnie. That was a
really bad miss. But to see two big plays this

(01:49:55):
game where he's been burned, that's that's gotta be frustrating
to that. In tire Rade defense in the playoffs, we've
seen a couple of referee teams um that we're having
a trough timemember, especially in the first or second round.
I forget what it was off the top of my head,
and those crews were not allowed to come back and
referee in the playoffs. If this was an early playoff game,

(01:50:16):
we'd be probably saying the same thing about this crew
right now with that miscall. Uh couple of miscalls a matter? Yeah, yeah, absolutely,
Let's get a couple of tweets in here at Stinking
Genius One at Plank Show, Roger writes if they wanted penalties,
they would have hired Jerome Boger's crew to do the game.
That this is not subjective design? Oh is it holding?

(01:50:38):
Is it not holding? You could have let that one gone. Um,
this is something that you can't let go when you
put your head on somebody's face mask and you give
it a twist. I mean, it wasn't when the Blair style.
But let's let's be honest. You turned this head a
little bit of resultant in seventy five yard touchdown. That's
got to be called. You can't miss that. You can't
do that, by the way. One injury to keep an
eye on. Odell Beckham Jr. Is on the sidelines with

(01:51:00):
his pads off. He's wearing a white hoodie. His day
has done al He looked to be emotional. Bingals lated
twenty to sixteen, and Danny points this out. They had
Matt Stafford over on the athletic trainer's table. He looked
a little bit gimpy. I know he had that knee
issue later in the season, but I mean, Arnie, that's
another injury now to really keep an eye on throughout
this fourth quarter. What do you think you thought it

(01:51:22):
was a little lower leg. It was the foot get
the toes got kind of caught underneath on the sack,
so he limped off and they retaped the shoe. So
that's not a good sack to start drim for the Rams.
If I'm counting correctly, Artie, I've got that at five
sacks for the Los Angeles Rams in this game. Their

(01:51:42):
defensive line has been, as the kids would say, eating um. Unfortunately,
their offense has kind of gone snell. And remember Joe
Burrow against Tennessee was sacked nine times, only once against
Kansas City, but nine times at Tennessee and still wound
up with almost three fifty yards. Chris, they're gone. They're
gonna have to go to review on this is one.
I got a feeling because, oh no, they're not. Oh

(01:52:04):
my goodness, maybe I didn't see this one. But I
thought the Rams on the ball and picked up a
fumble of the three. It's just the sec. But I
looked like they had stripped the ball from Joe Burrow.
Can we see that again? Oh? My six sacks and
we're not done with the third quarter yet. Six on Burrow. Yeah,
it looks like the ball came out when he hit
the ground. Yeah, hit the ground. Hey, let me tell

(01:52:27):
you something. This is wild. If you had to say
a prop with the Rams Aaron Donald. He's not gonna
win the m v P. But the amount of attention
they're having to pay to him. He just split a
double team and opened up everything for Von Miller. It's
third and twenty two, and I know that Cincinnati's confident,

(01:52:48):
but they gotta do what they can and just get
the ball out of Joe Burrow's hands. They completely pass
out to the twenty. It's gonna be fourth down. Speaking
of sacks, By the way, Von Miller's Broncos tie the
Super Bowl record, to my knowledge, with seven sacks in
a game. The Great Bears of five and seven sacks
in a Super Bowl game. Keeping a tab on this,

(01:53:08):
that's six of Joe Burrow so far. Remember, wanna give
you that stat that Aaron Aaron Donald and and um
that's after that, he's got two sacks Donald. Now a
couple of quick tweets are real quick from nature Boy,
who writes, the Rams are resorting to trick plays, they're
scared and they running game solutions should be. To hand

(01:53:31):
it to Eric Dickerson, Well, they don't have a running game.
They're missing they're tight end. They're now missing Beckham and
they were already missing Robert Woods. If you want to
include that, this is still a winnable game. It's only sixteen,
but my goodness, that botched extra point is enormous. Yeah, exactly,
um yea. By the way, one quick note on our

(01:53:52):
watch along here, there are several delays, so we have
not only the straight up if you're listening terrestrial radio,
there's the make sure only doesn't custollay. There's an HD
delay if you're listening online. So we're really not as
far behind as it might seem for some of you
on the stream, but we appreciate you checking us out

(01:54:13):
at our heart radio at something due to my team's
like you're so far behind on the game, Like, no,
we're not. It's just we're all listening on the stream
that our stream is like two minutes by the time
it gets to you. It's probably another seven seconds. By
the way, the next time Joe Burrow is sacked, if
that comes again tonight, that would make it an even
seventy sacks total on the season, including the postseason. That's

(01:54:34):
not quite David Carr territory with the expansion Texans, but
it's getting close. What's the record for sacks in the
in a Super Bowl by a team for a team?
I think it is that seven that I mentioned the
most sacks. Hold on, let's see what Google tells us
most sacking the Super Bowl. Uh, second out in five
This they lined up, but they didn't stop the ball.

(01:54:55):
So that's going to be the end of the third quarter.
Right now, we're gonna have a good fourth one that's
turned into a good super Bowl. We thought it was
gonna be close. Um, and that's exactly what it is.
We're gonna start the fourth seen Cincinnati with this. So
this is how even it is. They've each punted four times.
They have almost the exact same number of plays on offense.
They do have the exact same number of first downs,

(01:55:16):
but that one long pass on the first play of
the second half. Is the difference in the game, the
seventy five yards with the offensive pass interference or face
mask take your pick, not called. Bengals lead twenty to
sixteen going to the fourth. You hate to see that
a miscall making a difference in the game right now.
That that's what all anybody's gonna talk about tomorrow. So

(01:55:37):
the most sacks in the Super Bowl, as Disagre mentioned
three way tie Broncos, Bears, Steelers. The Steelers did it
was seven and seventy six. The Bears did it with
seven and eighty six, and seven in two thousand and
sixteen for the Broncos against Carolina. Right there with six
the Raiders in Night four when Ted Hendricks and Jack

(01:55:59):
Squire dominated the Washington Redskins in the time, the Niners
in nineteen ninety and the Packers in nineteen sixties seven
each had six. So some records could potentially fall uh
and on. Oh, I haven't checked on our prop tracker.
Here's just a bit, Arnie. I need to kind of
get caught up there. You mentioned the two historical notes.

(01:56:20):
Joe Mixon becomes the first running back to throw a
touchdown in the Super Bowl since Ram's running back Lawrence
McCutchen hit Ron Smith for a twenty four yards score
in the Super Bowl in January twenty, nineteen eighty at
the Rose Bowl, and Cooper Cup has twenty one receiving
touchdowns in the regular season and playoffs combined. Now again
we don't combine those in the overall records, but he

(01:56:41):
joins Jerry Rice and Randy Moss as the only players
to have more than twenty receiving touchdowns in a season
including the playoffs. All right, real quick, before we grab
our first time out of our number four. Yeah, I
remember four, Arnie, kind of your thoughts are number three?
Excuse me, arnie, thoughts on what you need to see
from the Rams to get back in this game or

(01:57:03):
take the lead in this game in the fourth quarter?
Right now? First to write, this is our number four?
All right? Went the Rams need to do there? Gonna go?
What do they need to do? Um? Look, first of all,
it is a toss up right now. They did a
good job. They're starting to do a great job defensively,
putting good job putting a pressure on Joe Burrow. You
can't let him sit back there and and go ahead

(01:57:24):
and pick you apart. Um, you have to keep First
of all, you have to get the ball. More to
Cooper Cup. They got him on they got him the ball,
but he ended up throwing the ball. He needs to
run that type of pass, uh that play, excuse me,
Um and pick up some yardage. So they need to
do more stuff like that. I think you need to
kind of abandon the running game and go with maybe
some short passes to the running backs and maybe do

(01:57:44):
something like that, because the running game, now you're three
quarters in, it's not work. Sixteen carries thirty two yards.
You gotta go in a different direction, Um, and and
and give your team a chance to put the ball
in Stafford's hands. I cannot believe that we're looking at
a team in the Los Angele Less Rams. It could
be in position to win the Super Bowl and they've
only run for thirty yards in this game. Uh, the Seger,

(01:58:06):
what do you want to see in the fourth quarter?
What do you need to see from the Rams here? Well,
it's not abandoning the run. The run has abandoned them.
So just hold the Bengals to a field goal and
you are fine, And you know, don't overreact to this.
You don't have to have five trick plays in order
to get a win in this You're gonna need one
touchdown and a two point conversion and you can win

(01:58:27):
this game. Uh, bubbo, what do you need to see?
What do you want to see here in the fourth quarter?
How does this think play out? I just need to
just literally just see them focus more to Rams or
just I don't know what's going on. He's trick play
has gotta stop. You just gotta do what got you
this far. And if it's running. If running is not,
you've got enough weapons out there on on a receiving

(01:58:48):
end to make it work. Their backup tight ends actually
playing decent. Yeah, that's the Purdue product. To Um and
Danny G. Real quick before you grab a time out
as they face a third and seven year with fourteen
twenty to go in this in the football game, big
spot here for Matt Stafford and the Rams. They're gonna

(01:59:09):
go up top, nocomplete pass, no flag intended for Van Jefferson,
Danny G. What do you want to see? Well, not
just sound like a degenerate, but my draft Kings lineups
have Dixon as the m v P. I need mixing
to have a huge fourth quarter. Uh so the Rams
with an incomplete pass on third down, despite the fact
they're near midfield, they'll count on Johnny Hecker to try

(01:59:32):
to pin Cincinnati deep and get the football back. Wow,
what I gave. If you're running the ball there, get
within the like fourth and one, then maybe you want
to go ahead and go for it on fourth thout.
But they maybe don't want to take that chance. Um,
you know, and put the Bengals in easy field. Don't
have the margin for error. Now there's no Hecker down

(01:59:52):
at the fifteen yard line. Time out. Will come back
Super Bowl fifty six with Arnie and Plank on Fox
Sports Radio. Alright, Artie, Rams get the football back. But
a scary moment, Joe Burrow's leg bit backwards on a
sack on third down in nine and caught him screaming

(02:00:14):
in pain. He was able to walk off the field
underneath his own power. But as we come back from
commercial break, unless he's got ligaments that are made up, oh,
he's not, even at the attention of trainers at the bench.
There By the way, Rams might have gotten a break.
I saw in the punt um they they crushed the putter.

(02:00:34):
But I didn't see if he had gotten the ball off,
for it was his planned foot no penalty call, that
could have been just running into the putter and then
it would have just been five yards anyway, so it
might not have made a difference thirty five yard lines,
so the Rams have good field position. Does he have
ligaments that are made of rubber or something, because I
don't think it was as bad as you and Danny
g were making it at the break, going oh yeah,

(02:00:56):
you got twisted up a little bit. Uh, and he
was screaming, But I don't think it was as bad
as that. He's been sacked seven times now, a Super
Bowl record along with Roger. But you just said he
was screaming. Usually quarterbacks don't scream and pay the ground
is screaming. His leg was trapped and he got absolutely

(02:01:17):
blasted by a Ram's defender. Okay, now on the sideline,
they're not even working on it, so that will I
will watch next time he gets hit. He'll start hobbling around.
But rayms moving the football second down in three tift
six to go in the game, Bengals lead at twenty six.
Rams have to abandon the run. Enough of this, they're
they're getting stymied every time they try to run the ball,

(02:01:39):
especially on that second now play that they've they've got
to give up on the run. Enough is enough. Uh.
The numbers so far for the Rams running the football.
They're leading rusher in the game is Cam Akers, who
has thirteen yards on eleven carries. Their second leading rusher
is Matt Stafford, who the over is still hitting one
rush for seven yards and Makers had six yards on

(02:02:01):
one carry. Otherwise he would have Tevin a ten carry
seven yards, So it's it's even worse than that, to
be honest with it's been. Yeah, he didn't. He had
double digits on one carry and that's it. So this
is I mean, there's no Maker break drives with a
way that the Rams defense is playing right now, but
a pretty big third down pass that's not gonna get
him anything out does not look good in the second

(02:02:24):
half now in his last after going nine for nine,
he's ten of twenty uh in his last so certainly, um,
he has not looked good in the last uh second half,
no doubt about that. Joe Burrow doesn't look good walking
around over there to me either either. They're ignoring him
because they're like, yeah, We know you're hurt, but we're
not gonna win if we bring in I don't know,

(02:02:45):
do you even know off the top of your head
who the Bengals backup quarterback is Virgil Carter? It is
not Virgil Carter already even that is one heck of
a guest. Brandon Allen and Jake Browning or the other
two quarterbacks on their roster. And I'm pretty sure or
that it would it would come down to Brandon all
a super Bowl prop. You know that, don't you will?

(02:03:06):
How many quarterbacks will take a snap or something like
that that is like one and a half or or
something like that. What were they making? I mean, is
it for one team? It's like, hey, didn quarterback that
would take a snaff? It could be that, Yeah, that's
the thing, a non quarterback or something to that effect. Um,
all right, so at Plank Show on Twitter at Stinking
Genius One love to hear from you guys as the

(02:03:26):
show rolls on. Here is um here's a good one
from Brandon Brodie. He writes, is it me or do
both teams offensive line seem to be having a rough day?
If I were the RAMSOC I had a bandon the
run from here on out. For since i'd run the
ball and hope for a hole to open up and
pass if the strategy fails. Um, well, now that the
Burrows heard, I think he's gonna have to run the
ball a little bit more and maybe do some some

(02:03:47):
sweeps and you know where they pitched it up to
the wide receiver and try to go wide. I'm gonna
have to do a little bit more of that. And
if I'm the Rams, I've been saying this all for
the second half, get rid of the run and uh
and you know, maybe throw to the running back. But
you you can't keep doing that for stopping you every
which way. I feel like we've been saying that for
the Rams already since the start of this football game.

(02:04:08):
Because you you brought up a really good point, cam Akers,
his longest carry is a six yard game, so let's
take that out. That is seventeen carries for twenty three
yards for the Rams running the football, which means for
cam Akers that would be for seven yards if he

(02:04:33):
didn't have his big six yard run from earlier today.
And let's be clear, the Bengals haven't been jaw dropping
amazing running the football. They've only had fifty five yards
on fifteen carries. But already it seems like it's been
more effective when they've run the football. It does, but
you're right, and I know, mixing out a fourteen yard
big one otherwise they've kind of chipped away at it all.

(02:04:54):
So both running games been very stagged that they've not
done a good job. Or maybe the defensive line has
done a good job, whichever way you want to put it,
but um the defense up the ball. I knew a
lot of people were taking the over in this game
right now, sitting in thirty six over forty eight and
a half, still possible, Still plenty of time left, especially
with the way they scored in the third quarter. Um
so still anybody's bet on that one on the over? Under?

(02:05:17):
What in the heck is this commercial? But I'm trying
not to get too caught up in the commercials, but
every so often I look up and I'm like, Irish
Spring just had a commercial that had me wondering what
in the world was going on? So I got scared
by the movie preview earlier we had a QR code
that was bouncing all around our screen. I haven't been

(02:05:37):
able to figure out what's going on with the bowling
out commercial, and now renee Zel Wigger is gonna start
the thing about pam Okay, okay, real quick before we
get back to play one commercial. I loved Flavor Town
with Guy Fiertti whenever they introduced the hard Seltzers. That
was well done. All right. So the Rams are gonna

(02:05:59):
run the football pig run by Joe Mixon to start
the football. Yes, when I say the Rams, I'm sorry,
Bengals is gonna run the football and they get a
big run from Joe Mixon pushes it out of I
guess you could say the shadow of their own end zone.
So they're sitting with the first start, big run to
start this series series off. So uh now the Rams

(02:06:20):
are like, well what are they gonna do? And they're
gonna continue running the ball? Are they running the ball now?
Because Joe Burrows hurt? I guess we'll find out on
the first pass now quickly gets it out of his hands. Yeah,
And you also think that maybe they feel like they're
doing a little bit of a better job in their
run blocking than they are in their pass blocking right now,
And I gotta tell you something, the Rams defensively have
lined up and they're just coming after Burrow. They're basically

(02:06:42):
bringing everyone they possibly can, so they don't realize that
Burrows hurt and he's not going to pass the ball
or he's gonna get out of his hands real quick.
I've not seen Burrow walk up or to the huddle,
so I don't know how well he's moving around. They're
not showing him on TV, so I never get to
see how he's moving around back there, you know. I
I see him hand the ball off and see is

(02:07:02):
favoring that leg still on one leg, so I I
think I got okay. So now he just went back
the hand it off, and he looked pretty good on
moving backwards. So that's three straight runs then to start
this drive for the Cincinnati Bengals. And just when we thought, hey,
they might slow thing or they might try to throw
the ball a few more times, they've slowed it down
with the run and they'll face a third down and

(02:07:24):
short with to go in the fourth quarters. What do
you do here? The ball again? The pigeon to the outside.
See if mix you can get the corner, or do
you see if I'm banged up, Joe Burrow can throw
for the first down? Well, I think they're trying to
protect Joe Burrow here, so you've got a third down
back in p rhyme, Maybe fake Joe him one of
those quick throws outside. I always love when they're showing

(02:07:47):
the McVeigh stuff during defensive series for the Rams. I'm sorry,
I don't think Sean McVeigh has anything to do with
the defense of the Rams. But they're gonna let Burrow
throw it and they're gonna get the first down and
the clock will take away tick all right. Steve Sager
comes rolling in to get a scart up everything going

(02:08:07):
on with this game? With the Bengals up sixteen. What's
going on, Steve? And we're under eight minutes to go
sixteen to lead. That was a big third down conversion
because from the start tonight that's been a category the
Bengals have not been good in. They were only two
of eleven on third down conversions, and here they had
a third and two and got a three yard catch.
What they have needed is a long drive here, because

(02:08:28):
they've only had one all night. You remember, in the
second quarter Bengals were down thirteen to three and they
put together a seven minute touchdown drive to get right
back in it before halftime. That is by far their
longest drive. If they put anything close to that together
here in the fourth quarter, well, Matthew Stafford, Mr. Comebeck's
gonna barely touch the ball, and here they could add

(02:08:49):
to the lead Cincinnati. So that was a big third
down conversion. Joe Burrow is the first player to be
sacked at least five times in the quarter of any
playoff game and at least the last twenty years. Yes,
he did come back for this past series that's going
on right now, but he's been sacked seven times, the
Super Bowl record, tying seven times in this game. There
was a stat I've been saving here for the whole

(02:09:11):
season playoffs included in the NFL. What quarterback would you
say has the most interceptions on long passes and the
most touchdowns on long passes this season throws twenty plus
yards downfield? Stafford Stafford. The answer is Matthew Stafford with
ten ten interceptions on deep balls now and the answer

(02:09:31):
is Joe Burrow with twelve touchdowns on deep balls this year.
We've seen each in this game so far. Today. I
mentioned as far as the comeback, Matthew Stafford has led
thirty five fourth quarter comebacks in his career, including postseason.
Since he was drafted over a decade with Detroit, it
should be you should get bonus points for that. Since

(02:09:54):
he was drafted. That is the most by any quarterback
in the league. I repeat, if the Rams can hold
him to a field goal here, this game is not
in the least over. We have six thirty seven to go.
Cincinnati leads twenty to sixteen. Big plays earlier in the game.
Two that come to mind, the botched extra point in
the second quarter. It's why the Rams only led thirteen

(02:10:16):
to three and not fourteen. The holder dropped the ball
and then through an interception in desperation, and the second
quarter injury to Odell Beckham, the knee injury that has
kept him out the rest of this game, and and
and Cincinnati dropped. He had a chance to get the
nine yards over the middle on third and nine. Instead,

(02:10:38):
it stops the clock and causes a punt. Now for Cincinnati.
The Rams will get it back with more than six
minutes left, so they'll be punting from They were at
their own forty at the last place, so the Rams
will not be pinned up against their own goal line
likely and they'll have time. Maybe time for a couple
of drives here before we're out. The Rams enter with

(02:10:58):
a record of fifteen and five five They are playing
in their home stadium. They went seven and three at
home this season. This is technically not their home game.
Cincinnati a team keep in mind if they win the
Super Bowl, keep in mind. The Bengals record in mid
December was seven and six after an overtime loss to
San Francisco. But here they beat Kansas City twice in

(02:11:19):
January in the playoffs, beating the Raiders, Tennessee, Kansas City
all close games, Stafford and company taking the field time
out six thirteen to play. Bengals up twenty to sixteen
NBA wins for Boston and Minnesota. The NBA All Star
Game is next Sunday night at the winner Olympics. US
men's hockey beat Germany three to US women's hockey plays

(02:11:41):
the semifinal tomorrow morning our time against Finland and at
the Phoenix Open. The winner Scottie Scheffler in a playoff
his first career tour victory. Back to you, Thanks Steve.
All right, here's a couple of numbers for you. The
Rams officially now with seven sacks tied for the most
in a Super Bowl ever with the Steelers in seventy six,

(02:12:04):
the Bears in eighty six, and Von Miller's Broncos in
two thousand and six. Teams seven sids just supposed to
be winning the game. You're not supposed to be struggling
in the fourth quarter. And I gotta say this, I
am still shocked that Joe Burrow once he got going
in that drive, Arney didn't seem to show any ill
effects on that hit before the uh, before the last drive,

(02:12:28):
shrugged it on off and ready to get back out there.
I thought maybe there was something because they did run
the ball three straight times. Um, he moved pretty good
on a couple of those handoffs. Yeah, And the only
reason they don't have the ball right now is the
dropped past. Boy dropped it. Paul right. Starting to think
Sean McVeigh has the Bengals money line on Draft Kings.
He's calling a unique game. Uh, Judge Reid right, So

(02:12:50):
five Stadium will never get a Super Bowl ever again
after this, and the turf master from Kansas City gotta
go hashtag it's beautiful stadium. The whole thing looks gorgeous
out there. What you call it Century City. It's like
when the Century City used to be the hot part
of l A a long long time ago, in that
office buildings and shopping and restaurants and and hotels. Now

(02:13:14):
this is replaced that, no doubt about that. I mean
down by Staples. It's replaced that. It's beautiful, let's not
get carried away. Down by Staples is pretty damn awesome.
But what they've done, you know, I don't think many
people realize this, and and I didn't even truly grasp
it until you know, I saw it and didn't have
heard everyone talk about it. Under that awning, it's not

(02:13:34):
just a football stadium. There's a ton of stuff underneath there.
So they've done an incredible job of the area around
the Super Bowl. And I'm sorry, Judge Reid, this is
gonna be the first of many Super Bowls in in
Los Angeles. In fact, I could see him going back
for the next Super Bowl. That's up forbid, right because
next year's Arizona. The following year is Las Vegas. So

(02:13:57):
that is keeping on the West coast. Yeah, keep it
on the West coast. And the College Championship next season
is in this same stadium and of course future Olympics,
maybe World I mean, who knows what you mentioned? What's
under this roof that they built, which is not attached
to the to the stadium itself, not attached to the
seating area. The NFL Honors that we saw on Thursday

(02:14:18):
night is at the theater that's right next to the
standing room plaza under this roof. It's at the Rams
Stadium and the NFL network headquarters are right behind the
press box. All right, what do you guys do on
second and one? Just even run the ball? Or you
just keep passing it then and they just forget about it.
Here's what I've noticed. When the Rams run the football,
they go from being like a second and one to
a third and three. Yeah, so I mean, I just

(02:14:39):
they're passing. I don't think I don't think I'm gonna
run the ball much again. And then in those third
down situations, if you boy Cooper couple is looking for
a flag there, Yeah, they're they're really swallowing the whistle there.
There's no give mes in this one. They're they're letting
them play. That was first Coronic who has suddenly been
targeted five times? Can you tell Odell Beckham is out
in this game. My good is Cup's been targeted six

(02:15:03):
Yeah yeah so and again if you're just tuning in,
haven't been able to watch, Odell Beckham was off to
a fantastic start, caught caught a touchdown past as pro
football doc who checked in with us, let us know,
it looks like a serious knee injury to cost Odell
Beckham Jr. Now remember what I did for the Rams
go ahead five minutes left of the game, and we

(02:15:26):
can change that to right now because the Rams are
gonna have to go for it on fourth and one,
uh to continue this drive or give up the ball.
They still don't have thirty yards rushing in this game.
This is ridiculous. After that carry four acres, twelve carries,
thirteen yards. They have run the ball nineteen times as

(02:15:47):
a team. I'd got back yards, I'd go quarterback sneak
with staffing. It's the easiest way to get a yard,
not the running back. Yeah, that's for sure. But I
will tell you they did pick up the yard, and
this is what they gotta do more. They gotta go
more with the give the ball the Cooper Cup and
get him to the outside is exactly what he should
have done and complete the end of round exactly worked

(02:16:08):
out perfectly, you know, like we're sitting here watching his
game and we're waiting for it to happen. I mean,
you just casually come in they do, got it? That's
the gain. That's the exact reason why people, I just
did it one time, You did it one time, and
you have an AFRO. Get the hell out of here.
You've been doing it all game. Here's what I don't
understand is we found out that already can pause his
TV and seek it up, but he just refuses to

(02:16:30):
do it because it's something about busting people's bubble that
gets Arnie off. I think that's more exciting to him
than almost sports game. Yeah, but if if he could
already it would it would it would help us out
a lot. If you pause next year, next year, you
said that last year. I guess. Here's my point is,

(02:16:51):
I don't understand why you just don't let you know
to say or handle that and me, you're you're, you're,
you're confusing. I'm a big sports fan, that's why that.
How about we just touch you off. Seriously, I've already
done it once tonight, I'll do it again. We're under
four and a half minutes here and the Rams are
not yet to midfield and they're down four. Field goal
does no good because of the point. It's all four

(02:17:13):
four down territory for the Rams from here on completion
to their own forty five. Right now, we're running to
four minutes left. They still got fifty five yards to go.
If this is their last drive, who's to say they'll
get two drives in the last four minutes. Guys, I
know we got to get a break and we'll we
want to see the latter part of this drive, but
we'll do it after this third down and to play

(02:17:34):
there's four oh nine, four oh eight clock is ticking.
Rams don't seem to be a hurry. On third and two,
Stafford throws a strike, got it first down. Hopkins. His dad,
Brat played in the Super Bowl for the Tennessee Titans.
Hear him all over the place, one of the greats.
And I guess we could say the Rams are in

(02:17:55):
business now right. I hate to break here, but man,
they are moving the football and you can't help. But
wonder do you start maybe trying to pressure Stafford a
little bit, maybe kind of dial up. The blitz is
a little bit turn up the heat. I'm not gonna
I'm not let him stand back there and pick me apart.
I'm gonna have to do something. I gonna come with it,

(02:18:15):
especially when you're not running the ball. I don't think
you're gonna call any running plays. I gotta go and
start blitzing. I can't let him stand there and tear
me apart. Where all the uh come come from behind us.
Each team has all three time outs left, and we're
down too close to three minutes left, and the Rams
need a big play, and they need one now. They've
been dinking and dunking. It's gotta comet. You're gonna get

(02:18:37):
a big play right now. So the Rams are are
gonna be set up good. But there's still about y
reception that's about twenty yards Cooper cop down towards the
red zone, and with two fifty five to go in
the game, the Rams are in business. They trail the
Bengals to six quite in the red zone, yet they're
gonna spot it down where they spotted down are when

(02:19:01):
so the twenty six yard line. Let's watch this next
play and then we'll be able to grab our time out.
Los Angeles knocking on the door, trying to take the lead,
trying to win Super Bowl fifty six. Stafford, Oh my gosh,
it's a laser into a tight window to Cooper Cup.
They'll have it second down at short of the sixteen
yard line when we come back. As we approach the

(02:19:22):
two minute well, let's see, are they gonna get a
playoff before the two minute warning? I will let you
know that they're yeah, they're they're lined up, but I
don't know if they they did snap it before the
two minute warning. They decided to run the ball and
they are going to pick up the first down, and
it's the best run. They get it inside the ten
yard line and then set it up. My friend with
two minutes parties, connection is just messing up. Ain't that?

(02:19:46):
They're just a shame. Cam Acres powers down to the
eight and that's where the Rams will have it first
in goal when we come back. Super Bowl fifty six,
heading down the home stretch on Fox Sports Radio. Touchdown,
Rams not sure? Touchdown? Rams not sure. As we left you,

(02:20:09):
I love you, go ahead. I'm sorry. I don't know
if Cooper Cup got both feet down one. I don't
know if he's got both feet down well he got
blasted and he got his leg down right. Well, I
I don't know, I can't tell. And I thought it
was offsetting penalties anyway, hold on offense and then the
personnel fell jawing on defense, showing with the quarterback, so

(02:20:32):
one on each offsetting and he took an absolute shot.
So what what it was? The holding on the Rams
as Stafford started to go to his right to hold
his evident, keeping the rusher from also going to the side. Okay,
are you good? Yeah, go ahead, Okay. So when we
went to break, it was a big situation for the Rams.

(02:20:54):
They had a third in goal and there was a
holding call that had finally been called at the goal line,
and so the RAMS had its first in goal and
now they again have to replay after the offsetting fouls.
That's gonna be another passing at the goal line they
had No That was Eli Apple on Cooper Cup, who

(02:21:16):
has now taken a couple of shots. Cup ran that
quick little out. Apple just grabbed them and didn't let
them get in there, grabbing everybody. I'm gonna say this
as a fan of l A, as a fan of
the game, I think with the time that they have
left and what we've been seeing in these playoff games.
They need to just run the ball and run that
clockdown because they use their time and they have to

(02:21:36):
because this is not smart what they're doing. Like you're
literally allowing them to have time on the clock. Right,
But that ball was back at like the seven or
eight yard like they weren't running the ball well, they
wanted to pick up plus yardage on first down. Um,
now I could see them running the ball when it's
first on the one, just running twice. That's all you

(02:21:57):
gotta do is running twice. But they've been running a
horribly all game walk. I'm gonna go with the stafford
sneak um a matter of fact, they're gonna try that.
He still won't get goodness, man, goodness. If they just
in the second quarter, they could just do anything they
wanted here and still have a field goal try in
their back pocket. Instead, they have to get in the

(02:22:20):
end zone from the one here, and we're approaching well
under a minute and a half to go now, and
since that he's gonna burn their time out the first Yeah,
they don't want to go ahead and have the clock
burned out anymore than it has so theoretically the Rams
could have four quarterback sneaks here. That was the first
goal from the one. What what you're missing is if
you want to said burn their time outs, Yeah, but
every time they don't get in, then it's a time

(02:22:41):
out for Cincinnati. But you want to get in. It's
albody's second down. So how many more times do you
want to go ahead and have since? But then even
if there's time left over after you score, Burrow would
have no time outs left for his final drive, right,
but there's still be pretty of time left on the
clock though it'll be over a minute left on the clock.
We'll see if this thing gets solved before where we
hit our top of the hour break. We got a

(02:23:02):
hard out here in just a few um but as
second down in goal, I'm kind of a little bit
surprised here that we didn't have a commercial after the
time out. So sixteen Cincinnati leads the Rams in the
midst of a four yard drive for you're not really
living up touch Thomas at all. Uh, Stafford is gonna

(02:23:24):
throw a little past the cup and he caught it,
and the Rams have taken the lead with a minute
twenty five to go on an end zone fade to
Cooper Cup who went up and grabbed it, capping off
an incredible fifteen play seventy nine yard drive that ate
up four minutes and forty eight seconds. Two big penalties

(02:23:44):
on the Bengals, one on a hold on. Was that
a third down pass or a second down pass? Yeah?
The Logan Wilson was the third down play. Early in
the five, the Rams went forward on fourth and one
from their own thirty yard line, and the end around

(02:24:05):
of Cooper tupt this drive alive. They also had a
third and two conversion on this drive when the backup
tight end Hopkins had a reception, they just showed it again.
That wasn't we forget about the big play, But fourth
and one, they don't pick that up. The game's over
pretty much with five minutes left of the game, and
since that inside out of the Rams territory or admit
himum and they'd be down seven and had very few
time left at the ends. It's so it's Rams twenty

(02:24:27):
three Bengals twenty under a minute and a a half left.
Joe Burrow and company will have two time outs left,
and we'll see if they can either a put themselves
in position to force over time are put themselves in
position to win the game and submit the early career
legacy of Joe Cool and Evan McPherson. The fun is

(02:24:47):
just starting. It's Super Bowl fifty six on Fox Sports Radio.
We get an hour to recap an instant classic in
a way to end it like that on the fourth
and one, Joe Burrow not getting that off, twenty three
to twenty the Rams beat the Bengals. You want to
give Joe Burrow, say, Joe Burrow not getting that off?

(02:25:10):
How about Aaron Donald absolutely living in the Bengals backfield
for the entire second half. He's the first interview on
the field after you give the m v P two
Aaron Donald, Like I told you before the game, I mean, oh,
Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, Arney, that's my vote. Um, Matthew Stafford,

(02:25:31):
it's too boogee through two interceptions? Did but yeah, because
you're a quarterback guy. I know. I am a quarterback guy.
I'm the one who picked Mad Miller years back and
told you that could be a pretty good long shot. Um,
and I said, even this is the way to go
this uh, playoffs, also this super Bowl? But um my goodness, man,

(02:25:52):
what a what a great victory for the Rams. Unbelievable.
So the final play and again we went to break
as the Rams score to go ahead touchdown, things were
going crazy. The Bengals got the football back and they
got a big pass play to Jamar Chase. But then
already on third and one they had the incompletion, and

(02:26:12):
on fourth and one another incompletion. When Aaron Donald was
living in the backfield. Von Miller came really close to
his sack as well. But the Rams will finish with
seven sacks. And when to throw it to like mixing
or something out of the backfield, um, you know, and
get the ball out of his hands so they wouldn't
get sacked. The they were putting so much pressure on him,
I thought they were gonna go to something like that. Well,

(02:26:33):
I think they indeeded to keep him in for protection.
I know that, but Gez, I mean, I I mean,
I'll tell you the Rams what they did. And again
this is this is boy that's an emotional Aaron Donald
right now. Wow. Uh he is tearing up on the
field in his postgame interview. Um, as they get set,
now we get a little Matt Stafford on the field,
we'll bring you post game reaction as we get it

(02:26:55):
courtesy of our crew behind the scenes here on Fox
Sports rad Some people save mouth Stafford wins the Super Bowl,
and obviously he did. Um. Would you consider him for
the Hall of Fame? Um? Because you know his numbers
in Detroit are pretty impressive, just that he just didn't
do a lot of winning in Detroit. Now that he's
what a Super Bowl, is he in the Hall of
Fame consideration? Yeah? I think so. I don't think he

(02:27:15):
ever hasn't been in Hall of Fame consideration, to be honest,
I think before the Super Bowl, yeah, you know, I mean,
what is he any less? If Joe Burrow would have
gone down and scored a game when he touchdown, Stafford
was really in a lot of ways, that's what he
would have taken the blame. Yes, if he would have
taken the blame, it would have been on him had
they lost this game. Yes, I would have said that. Yes,

(02:27:37):
so you're telling me if Joe Burrow would have drove
down and and won the game for the Bengals, you
would have blamed Matt Stafford. I think he would have
taken them blame for the Rams. Yes, I do. I
think people would have said, he started off good, he
had a tough second half, he had the interception in
the end zone. Yeah, I think a lot of people
would have pointed, hey, Matt pat Stafford, I to die. Yeah,

(02:28:00):
I think I think Rob Parker would have been the
first to agree with me on that one. Well, of
course he would. He's mad at if he won the
Super Bowl right now. I mean, congrats, you've got your
one guy that agrees with you on it. But I mean,
even in a win, Look, you're sitting here. You're part
of the problem. Man. No, no, I love you know,
I love Stofford. Stop that, you know. But the first

(02:28:21):
thing you say some Poles would have come back to win,
You're blame Matt Stafford and you said you would. You're
part of the problem. Dude. You give credit to Joe Burrow,
you don't blame Matt Stafford if they come back and
win scenarios. That's also true. But how many people, I mean,
I could just see Twitter would have been a buzzing
guy say, well, that's what you get Twitter is in

(02:28:43):
real life. Twitter is a bunch of morons, okay, that
get their opinions out there and outside of the ones
that are smart enough to tweet and listen to us.
I mean, we got people that are wanting to fight
us over whether or not Mike McDaniels mixed race. Arenie.
It's not necessarily a place where I go to get
my opinion. I'm just glad. I'm just glad we didn't
have to, uh have to worry about that because I

(02:29:04):
like Stafford. I'm a big fan of his, and I'm
glad that he got to win. I'm glad he's spent
all those years in Detroit because now it feels like
all those years of him suffering this makes the Super
Bowl that much better. So congratulations. Now, so let's dive
into it. We get an hour to recap things between
before Caveno and Rich come in and take your phone
calls at eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We're

(02:29:25):
taking your tweets at Stinking Genius one. I'm at Plank Show.
Everybody should be following us at Fox Sports Radio. Will
get your your tweets and your thoughts coming up here
in just a bit. But I know the natural thing
is gonna be okay. You have the the buzz about
Sean mcveigh's future heading into this Super Bowl A little

(02:29:46):
bit before this game on Aaron Donald, Arnie, do you
do you worry about either one of those guys stepping
away after coming away with a Super Bowl win? Um?
I I would have to say, Aaron Donald, I mean, look,
as you mentioned, look how emotionally was after the game.
There was a lot of rumors about him possibly stepping
on down and then a couple of people that you
reported if the Rams do win, he will walk away.

(02:30:08):
I could. I could see that. I certainly can, and
I'm gonna walk away a winner. Um walk away as
Super Bowl winners, I would say him, Um, I don't
think mcveigh's going to walk away from the game. I
think kill maybe enjoy his life a little bit more
now that he's won a Super Bowl um and gotten that.
But I think I think he'll go and come on back.
Obviously I do too. And I think, oh is look,

(02:30:31):
oh hey, USC is claiming this championship. My gosh, USC
football really's claiming a lot of things out there now.
They're claiming the Super Bowl for the Rams. Uh in us,
well done. Look at usc accomplishing things in the city
of champions. I am so impressed, Artie with what this
Rams defense did in the second half. Um they after

(02:30:54):
they took the gut punch to start things out right,
they could have easily folded. You have the big play
on the first play of the third quarter, you get
hit for what was it, um An a d R
touchdown reception, So seventy touchdown reception to te Higgins. You
could easily fold your tent. You can start wondering, Oh

(02:31:15):
my gosh, that was such a long halftime. We're in
trouble here. You're not only down. Then the very next
series for your offense, there's an interception, but they bow up.
They hold them to a field goal, and then they
don't allow anything from the Bengals again the rest of
the second half. That's incredible. Um just I'm in awe

(02:31:36):
of what their defense did in the second half of
the Rams. You know, one of the turning points after
they got the touchhout I'm talking about Cincinnati to go
up seventeen third team, They came on down, they had
the ball, they went forward on fourth down and they
picked up a first. It continued to drive. They end
up getting a field goal, but they really wanted to
touch down. They wanted to go ahead and go up

(02:31:58):
third team as they knew a field goal wasn't gonna
be good enough. They come down and get a touchdown
instead of the field goal, then then it doesn't look
like the Rams are maybe able to come on back.
And maybe he was three. That was a big part
of the game that we're gonna overlook later on. Do
you think so? Well? The mist extra point was a
big one. Also, don't forget about that it didn't come

(02:32:21):
in the factor. But could you imagine if the Rams
would have lost by one twenty three? What we've been
saying quick math. One play seventy five yards to start
the second half for the realms, thirty one plays sixty
one yards the rest of the second half of the Bengals.
That's it. And to give you an idea of how

(02:32:44):
impressive that the Bengals had twenty eight yards on one
drive and twenty four on the previous drive, so basically
they had it more. They had more than what percent
of it on their last two drives, when you could
say the Rams were a little bit softer, especially in

(02:33:06):
that last drive, Artie, that's bleeping incredible after what happened
to start the second half of this Rams defense. You know,
if I was gonna well, absolutely for the Rams defense.
But at the Rams on won this game, I would
have said, well, they had thirteen points to start this
game off. Seven of them came on a Cincinnati going
for it on a fourth town. Where was the offense today?
So you really could have said, out, great the Cincinnati

(02:33:28):
defense was. By the way, the first award just came
out Chris twelve football Guru, the winner of the Dan
Marino Award, Joe Burrow? Joe Burrow? How about that? Why?
Why is that? Because they don't think he's ever gonna
get back to another Super Bowl possible? I mean, if
ever anybody was gonna be a Dan Marino could be
Joe Burrow, you never know, you never know. I like

(02:33:50):
how this took one one uh ended drive Bobo before
Joe Burrow becomes second year. I just find it amazing
that we win what fifty seven years, almost five years
where the team never played in their home arena, and

(02:34:11):
now back to back the team has won in their
home marina. So I guess I'll give the Cardinals next
year something to be excited about. Not that they're gonna
do anything with Calor Murray, but still, and then the
Raiders this season. After that, let's go. We need a
year to rebuild a little bit and then they'll be
ready to go and find this trend continues over the

(02:34:31):
next four years. That's pretty amazing. Oh the other trend,
the team that won the coin toss loses again. That's
like seven straight Super Bowls that the team that won
the coin toss eight lost to the eight straight Super
Bowl Steve the Rams, as the visiting team technically called
it called tails, but it was heads. Therefore, Cincinnati won

(02:34:54):
the toss, and the coin toss winner has become the
Super Bowl loser eight straight years. And with the season
officially over, that means the draft order is now official
for April, which means who has the very last pick
of the first round. It's not the Rams, the trade
the Detroit Lions will draft dead last to the Bengals
will draft next to last in the April draft. By

(02:35:14):
the way, that fifteen play drive to go ahead for
the Rams late in the game they scored in the
last two minutes tonight, the longest drive by plays in
a fourth quarter to go ahead in the history of
the Super Bowl. It was fifteen plays. It was seventy
nine yards, nearly five minutes. The one yard tossed to
Cooper Cup got him the lead, and that wound up

(02:35:35):
the final because remember those last two offensive plays for Cincinnati,
third and one, they did not convert. Aaron Donald was
in on that, pulling him back from the first down
yardage fourth and one. The pass was pressured and incomplete.
Aaron Donald with the pressure. It was unbelievable. All right,
we lost Artie. We'll look back up with him here
in a second couple of quick tweets where you can

(02:35:56):
hit us up throughout at stinking genius one. There's Arnie.
He's back. I'm at Fox Sports, I'm at playing show
and everybody should be following us at Fox Sports Radio.
What'd you do? Trip over a wire or something? Now
he's gone. All right, we'll get we can update the
Sean mcveigh's at now when the Rams are leading at halftime.
The Rams record is forty eight and one, the best
winning percentage in the NFL since McVeigh became a head coach.

(02:36:20):
That's pretty impressive, though, you stunning because it was undefeated
until the regular season finale this season, when the Niners
came back to win in overtime and get to the playoffs.
Why couldn't this have happened during the actual game connection.
I'm so happy you guys have no idea. I just
want to kick my feet up and read your tweets
and enjoy this. I will say I'm never a big

(02:36:43):
you know, picks guy on the show. I save those
for absolutely nothing because my picks have been terrible. But
I did say before the Super Bowl started, so I
feel pretty good. On twenty twenty Super Bowl fifty six,
welcome back, Stinking genius. Le Me had a couple of
quick weets here, real quick, um Paul writes, Sean McVeigh

(02:37:03):
got his ring. Now he'll run for the door and
leave his replacements a draft and cap mess to clean up.
I'm not buying that he's done. I'm just not buying
that Sean mcvey's gonna walk away? Are you know? What?
Is the thirty four years older actually now the youngest
coach ever to win a Super Bowl. He just turned

(02:37:23):
thirty six. Mike Tomlin had previously previously had the record, No,
you can't walk away. Now you've got you know when
you win one. Now you've really got the taste for it.
You really want to get more, you know, Beckham's now
got a ring too, by the way, Yeah, Odell Beckham
gets a ring. Von Miller gets his second ring after
winning one with the Denver Broncos in which was all
defense with Miller and that Denver defense, and here the

(02:37:46):
Rams defense, mostly in the second half total up seven
sacks on Joe Burrow. You know, I'm not supposed to
like Stan Cronkey because I grew up in St. Louis,
and obviously we're all supp us to hate Stan Crokey.
He moved the Rams from St. Louis to Los Angeles,
but he built this place where the Super Bowl ding

(02:38:07):
ding ding. That's exactly what I means money, not the
NFL's not the States, unlike the Raiders Stadium in Nevada. Yeah,
well they there. Yeah, his whole family. Why why you
gotta hate on Why does he not look excited like
he's just talking like casually. You's always one with him?

(02:38:29):
Yeah yeah, well I think part of it is too.
He's worried. He's like, all right, wait a minute, am
I going to have to hire a new coach? Is
Sean McVeigh gone? Is Aaron Dontaldrytires still have more building
to do on that property. The reason why it's so
many billion dollars because it's not just the stadium. They're
still there. Remember the Clippers new arena is going to

(02:38:49):
be on that block too in a few years. Across
the street. That's right across the street. Um, are we
gonna wait to try to get the Super Bowl announcement here, guys?
Or do you want to go ahead and grab our break? Sean?
They is holding up the Super Bowls. You might imagine
they're just funny to talk to the coach. So maybe
m v P after Yeah, so Mike Terko hosting it all. Yeah,

(02:39:10):
I don't. I think it's gonna be Arnie for ruining
game for everybody. And Arnie was talking about Rob Parker
all through the show. Doug Gottlieb tweeted, someone please check
on Rob Parker. That was retweeted by Fox Sports rating
they went in spite of him. He went ro with
end of sentence, and then from Ben Mallard, it's so

(02:39:32):
quiet in Rob Parker's house right now that you can
hear a mouse urinate on his Matthew Stafford Rams Voodoo Doll.
The Rams are the first team in the history of
the NFL to win three games by three points or
less in the same postseason. Do you know what I
actually and I understand for it some Detroit fans frustration.
But we talked about this a couple of weeks ago.

(02:39:53):
Whenever I was sitting in for Um the Fellas on
on Saturday, I got the reaction that most Lines fans
were rooting for Matt Stafford. I mean, listen, they want
the Lines to win the Super Bowl. But you know
it's some point you look at Matt Stafford and he
he wasn't awful. He was good for your franchise better

(02:40:14):
because he was there. I think Cooper Cup just won
the m v P. No, you told me it was
Matt Stafford and that it was Matt Stafford regardless. No, No,
I don't think so. You don't think you said that. No.
I think Cooper Cup just won eight receptions nine two yards,
two touchdowns, including the game winner with under a minute
and a half left. Officially, Cooper Cup the Super Bowl

(02:40:36):
fifty six m v P. There you go, four catches
for thirty nine yards and that big seven yard run
on the game winning drive. So there you have it, Rayams,
our super Bowl champs. Just like Arnie said, Cooper Cup
wins the m v P. We'll talk more about this
great game with you on Twitter. Let's go I Stinking
Genius won At Plank Show after the Super Bowl, we
dive all into some wild offseason notes, but we're talking

(02:40:59):
about the game next on Fix Sports Radio. Pretty cool
watching the Rams celebrate on the turf. It's so FI stadium.
Andrew Wentworth and his family. Boy, they're not messing around
and getting away from this on I'm like, wow, they

(02:41:20):
got rid of it. May be asked. I was just
gonna ask you what would draw better right now for
NBC The Olympics or rerun of the super Bowl right away?
The super Bowl right now? Run it back. I don't look.
I think it would get a pretty decent number. I
don't know how many people would watch the rerun of
the I guess there's so many people that still work

(02:41:41):
out there and you can get to see the whole thing.
They may want to watch it again, or they're mad that, uh,
we confuse them so much with what was going on.
Then they want to go back and watch now. It's
possibility too. But here's the three key moments in this
game for the Los Angeles Rams. Courtesy of their eight.
Play by play guy J. B. Long the touchdown pass.

(02:42:03):
It gave him the lead for from under center, steps back,
throws the faith back shoulder Cooper Clubs got its Cooper
cut brings it in touchdown, touchdown, touchdown l A. With
one twenty five remaining, the Rams are back on the
high side. And then they needed the defense to step up,

(02:42:27):
and oh did they. Ram's creepy. They rushed forward. Throws
up for a fourth. He's sit, he's hit, He's sacked.
He throws it away. He flings it away up fourth down.
Aaron Donald got there. Donald takes his helmet off in celebration.
He flips Burrow to the turf and forces the incompletion
on fourth and one. He signals to his ring finger

(02:42:49):
on his left hand. And then all that was left
already that third big moment, the final call. Snap, here's
the knee. The Bengals will not call it. Time outs,
the sidelines, empty rings for the Rams. A Lombardi Trophy
for Los Angeles twenty three twenty is the final on

(02:43:13):
their home field here at so Fi Stadium in Super
Bowl fifty six. The Los Angeles Rams are world champions.
How cool is that? Uh? Good? Stuff. The Los Angeles
Rams Radio Network, JB Long on the call Freezing Cold
Takes are putting out a whole bunch and there's some
good ones out there, y'all. You'll enjoy that, Chris. You

(02:43:36):
know people that are putting out tweets from like a
year ago, like this one that said, really enjoying the
collapse of the Rams. Stafford is a Stafford anywhere, it
turns out, and McVeigh is the most overrated alleged genius
in the league, no matter how many players the Rams by.
That was November of Yeah, and by the way, I'll
prepare you you're gonna have like eighty six tweets about

(02:43:58):
Cooper Cup only had like in star and blah blah blah.
Well he's a super Bowl champ, so there you go. Um,
But man, I, I gotta gotta be honest with you, Arnie.
What an awesome week, right? Uh? Now? It was a
week and we saw a lot of these tweets where
maybe it didn't lack or have that sizzle around the game,

(02:44:19):
but the storylines just exploded all over the place, from
Brady's retirement to the future of Aaron Rodgers to the
Hall of Fame announcement to you know, um, obviously the
the m v P and the comeback Player of the Year,
the and the Rookie of the Year. And then to
have the Super Bowl on the grandest stage in the
in the biggest city. I just I loved everything about

(02:44:42):
this super Bowl. And then the game lived up to
the hype of the week. Big win for the Rams.
Congratulations to Rams fans. This is uh. It wasn't a
close game or an exciting game mixed up with a
well played game. There certainly were a lot of mistakes.
Joe Burrow was rough to start things off in the
first quarter. Matthew Stafford wasn't the best in the second

(02:45:02):
half until the last drive out there. The Rams running
game didn't look very good, but I guess we can
credit these Cincinnati defense for that. There was a look
at it. It wasn't a lot of penalties, but then
there was some penalties late in the game. Um, it
had a little bit of everything, you know what I mean.
We didn't have a lot of turnovers, but um, there
certainly was a lot of sacks, so we we had
a little of everything out there. I thought it was

(02:45:25):
a great game, Marty. I mean, listen, if you're wanting
full execution at the highest level. No, I understand that. Yeah,
you're You're just not gonna get it. But Shady Shawn
wants an apology from you. By the way, why is
that about the eminem A story? I mean, okay, great,
he took a knee. Yeah, because I brought it up

(02:45:46):
and you said no, no, no, that's not true. But
I said, I think that was from a fake meme page.
This one from Barstool Sports also put it out. Also, yeah,
and so there is. Hey, congrat Shady Shawn. You were right.
I don't know what he's kneeling for the middle of
a rap song. I mean, I don't. Again, Dr Dre
is at reverence to Dre. I'm with you right there

(02:46:07):
on that. But if it's your way of protesting because
the NFL said you're not gonna do it, kudos to you.
I never know what's real and what's not anymore, right, Congratulations, Sean.
I'm sure you feel better about that than Kenny Hill
throwing a pick at the fifty yard line when you
were driving to potentially win the game. Go ahead, Artie
the money Line Bet says we got three of our

(02:46:27):
four lay tickets in YouTube calling the game was way
better live coverage. Uh mL time should have had muted
to TV and had you guys throughout the house. I
a couple of people actually did that, um that were
our regular listeners decided to mute the game and listen
to us call it and and have fun that way. Also,
so they're as frustrated as I am. Right now. That's cool.
That's cool. I will say. The one thing that kind

(02:46:49):
of resonates before we get our final update from Steve
to Seger is how suddenly all this drama started to
build around this game, Artie that really had nothing to
do with the game. Right Suddenly it became if if
the Rams win, Sean McVeigh might retire, then suddenly this morning,
if Aaron Donald wins, he might retire. I just I
kind of found it fascinating how dudes futures became almost

(02:47:13):
a bigger story of times around this game leading up
to it than the actual kickoff itself. Well asn't Odell
Beckham Junior's future now up in in very much as
you know, how many years is hey, you've been in
the league, and how many people want to take a
chance on a aging wide receiver when you could really
get a lot of him out there that just come
off a c L. You tell me, uh, it's gonna

(02:47:34):
be tough. He's we'll see how he recovers from surgery,
but he might have to go back on to prove
a deal. And would it surprise you at all if
he ended up back with the Rams with the way
things when it surprise me at all? End them back
with Cleveland. It's gonna surprise, very surprising. But what it
surprise of he's back with the Rams decision to make too? Well,

(02:47:54):
if he's gonna be out for a significant amount of time,
he might not play at all next year. I have
no idea. We'll see what happens, all right. Well, one
final time tonight, Steve the Seger comes strolling into the
Fox Sports radio studios. Everything are the Super Bowl Champs.
Even Arnie can't ruin this. The game's over and it's
in the books. The Rams forever will be known as

(02:48:16):
Super Bowl fifty six champions, winning it in their home stadium,
twenty and a comeback against Cincinnati. And the guy who
was let's just say it was not a five star
recruit out of high school. Is the Super Bowl m
V p can I just say that Sesar Sports Book
just put this out seventeen seconds ago. Better in Colorado. Way,
your six thousand dollars on Cooper cop to win the

(02:48:39):
m v P at seven to one thousand dollars? Was
that not with you guys as it was with me
all week? The most logical pick because of all the
work he gets. Yeah, seemed like it. And that kicker, Yeah,
some people the kicker yep and cup the Super Bowl

(02:48:59):
m v P from Yakima, Washington, Eastern Washington. Eight receptions,
ninety two yards, two touchdowns. And I think Chris, your
point was great about how punchless the Bengals offense was
for too many long stretches. Cincinnati last game on red
zone TDS just one for four. Tonight Cincinnati one for

(02:49:19):
three on red zone tds, rams three for three. Remember
the uh went about what a minute twenty left, minute
sixteen left. Bagels added second to two at midfield. I
bet to the win ratio was like, you hate that,
but at that point and then they were facing Aaron
Donald for the next two plays, the third one with

(02:49:40):
Rerhind he got pulled back. Other honestly, with half the
other tacklers in the NFL that would have been a
first down game. He was pulled back and that created
a fourth in one and then Donald's pressure forced the
incompletion and they turn it over on downs and the
Bengals lose. And the Cincinnati Bengals in their franchises LAS
Super Bowl appearance over thirty years ago, they were leading

(02:50:04):
late in the game by three. Joe Montana and the
forty Niners took over inside their own ten with about
three and a half minutes left, drove down and won
the game. Tonight, late in the game, Bengals are leading
by four. The Rams and Matthew Stafford take over on
about their own twenty with about six and a half
minutes to go, and the Rams go on a fifteen play,

(02:50:25):
seventy nine yard game winning Super Bowl winning drive that
took nearly five minutes, and they come back for the victory.
The Rams were trailing thirteen in the third quarter Cincinnati
after its first drive against the Raiders. By the way,
in the Wild Card it was nine drives just thirteen
first downs after their first drive that day, they only

(02:50:45):
had about two d thirty yards of offense. So kudos
for the season, but what we've seen with the offense
and settling for field goals is what we've seen all postseason.
I will say the Bengals franchise, they've gone to the
Super Bowl twice in the eighties, lost his San Francisco
both times, and never since until now. Until this year,
they hadn't won any playoff game since theeason. That was

(02:51:07):
the longest active drought in the league. The franchise had
been owned eight in the postseason since. So congratulations for
this incredible run. Cincinnati was coming off five straight losing seasons.
Remember last year was four eleven and one. The previous
year they earned the Joe Burrow draft pick with a
two and fourteen record, and this year the Bengals won
the NFC North and people like them for that division

(02:51:29):
for years to come. Congrats on a great season. A
team that was I repeat, a game over the mark
in mid December goes on a run to the Super
Bowl and nearly takes it. Rams super Bowl champions and
this is the first time the L A. Rams have
won the Super Bowl. Last time the L. A. Rams
won the NFL title was in the early fifties. By

(02:51:50):
the way, can I give a quick update? I saw
him on Twitter I don't know if it's true, but
I'll give it to you anyway. Jefferson grabbed his daughter
as she and his daddy came out to the fields,
written through the locker room, headed to the hospital. Right now.
She's pregnant. His wife is pregnant having their sun. She
was rushed to the hospital mid gay. She had said

(02:52:10):
yesterday I'm not gonna miss this one. She was due.
And my goodness, they win and there you go, right there. Wow.
At the Winter Olympics, US women's hockey plays the semifinal
tomorrow morning our time against Finland. US men's hockey beat
Germany three two to advance to the quarterfinals with a
three and oh record. And by the way, the Olympic

(02:52:31):
ratings have just been historically awful for NBC for these
Winter Olympics usually. Now I will say in context, they're
still winning the ratings against whatever other TV shows every night.
But it used to be like fifteen million to five
million for whatever the second place TV show, and now
it's about ten million to five minutes. So they're way
down but still winning each night. This is gonna be

(02:52:53):
the Super Bowl bump. Who's to say they won't get
double the ten million tonight. So yeah, they they left
early on the postgame show to get to this because
because it's been sad for a week now for this
networks coming about that all over the place and just
put something out too, It's like, what the hell was
there a time for straight on the podness? Yez, hey,

(02:53:16):
you mentioned the van Jefferson running to the hospital. Taylor
Rap proposed to his long time girlfriend on the field.
Looks like she said yes, boy. That'd be a little
bit embarrassing if she said no. Right. I like seeing
dudes happy. Aaron Donald's so happy right now. Look at
they did ask him about retirement, and I guess he

(02:53:38):
said he's just living in the moment right now, and um,
you know obviously wouldn't exactly say so. So I redid
my math because I had one number wrong. I don't
want to correct one thing. It wasn't thirty one place,
it was twenty eight plays for sixty four yards after
the seventy five yard touchdown reception, the Rams a loud

(02:54:00):
just two point two yards per play. Put that in context,
the Rams rushing game, which was so awful, was about
two yards per carry. So the whole Bengals offense that
you're quoting was as bad in those stretches as the
Rams running game was all night. A couple of quick
tweets here, let's get after it. This is from at

(02:54:22):
all Around commentator who writes, to think of McVeigh would
retire at thirty six would be delusional. Does he have
a family we don't know about? Wants to leave so
he can meet real women and have a family. Getting
Maybe it's like I gotta work tonight, but they're like,
come on, We're all going to Applebee's. You know. It's
like half maybe because they think everybody's retiring with this

(02:54:45):
Aaron Donald story on the pregame and Eric Weddle is
going back into retirement with the ring, right, And I
said this earlier, and it's a it's fair question asked
because if you look at like I'm watching Sean McVeigh
right now on NFL Prime Time, right thirty six years old,
at the top of his profession, but also
