Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listen Fox Sports Radio. Oh, let's go. Let's go
before it slap you like Joanna Hour, Let's do how
about that? Huh? What I filled in for Bernie last
night and I had a simple charge, as we welcome

(00:21):
you into another episode of Arnie and Plank on Fox
Sports Radio. I had a very simple challenge slash charge
to the sports world to kick the show off last night, Arnie,
and it was this, don't do anything stupid. Because I
don't know how this happened, but this coming week became

(00:41):
in sports radio like the week of the Major League
Baseball All Star Game. Right, there's not a lot going
on a lot of people taking some time off. Uh,
the week after the week after the Super Bowl? Is
that right? I guess yea. And what's the first thing happens?
Apparently Jowan Howard didn't listen to my show last night?

(01:03):
Aren't he don't do anything stupid? And he's throwing haymakers
in a handshake line. What are we doing? What are
we doing? Yeah? A pretty poor job. You know. I
want to go ahead and start with this um. First
of all, Jowan Howard getting so bent out of shape
because he there was a time out called um late
in the game when he had a starter stilling and
they were pressing. If you didn't want the time out

(01:24):
to be called, then you should not have started in.
You should have been pressing. Um, they wanted to avoid
a ten second call. Sure they were gonna go ahead
and win the game. Everybody's missing one important point. It
wasn't so much that he kind of threw a half
punch which didn't affect anybody. Point Well, first of all,
he acted like a baby, He really did. He was

(01:44):
upset about the whole damn thing, and he acted like
a baby. No harm, no foul. But could you imagine
this is the part that everybody's overlooking. Could you imagine
did you see the kids they run out there? Who
knows if somebody doesn't throw a punch at another player
and that kid hits the grounding ands injured, or maybe
if you're if player throws a punch and he gets
suspended for the rest of the year, it's the kids

(02:07):
that go ahead and get the punishment. Really, um, And
and that's what I didn't want to see happen. I
don't want to see any of the kids get punished
for something like that. Thank goodness, nobody got hurt. Um,
any of the players got hurt, because that easily could
have happened. And technically, um, the players are throwing punches also,
they could have easily been suspendable. See what happens. But
I don't want to see that. See, you're putting your

(02:28):
team in harm's way because you have a bunch of
e t ninety twenty year old kids that just lost
the game, and they're gonna defend their coach, so they're
not thinking about their own punishment or what's gonna happen
to them. Quick though, on that, just I want to
push back a second. Okay, go ahead. Um, it's not
like that they didn't immediately get involved, though, Arnie I blame.

(02:53):
I mean, I don't think you're defending John Howard by
any stretch, not at all very clear, But I mean
they started right away. I mean literally, you knew as
soon as John Howard started it their players were in
the midst of it. So again, and I didn't know
he was gonna throw a punch. Oh my gosh, that
was unbelievable, he said to him when he got up

(03:14):
to the line. Because I'm gonna remember this what the
other coach should have said. Was, I hope you do remember.
What you should remember is the butt kicking we just
gave you in the second half of the game. That's
what you should remember. But you know what, either, you
don't say anything. You talk all this trash on the
show every Sunday night, every Sunday night. You talk all
this stuff about how if you had the opportunity and

(03:35):
you were Oh, I'd go in there and I tell
this other coach, I'd say, I'd get in their face. Oh,
they're lucky they don't do anything. If I was out
there and now someone does it and you're no, no, no,
you want to talk smack that, I'm gonna talk smack back.
If you're gonna say I'm gonna remember this, I'd say,
remember the butt kicking we just gave you. That's what
you should be working on. Didn't expect get punched in

(03:55):
the face. You want to punch me in the face,
I'm going to throw one back, that's what you're gonna
get that. I mean, how did that go for him?
And he didn't even hit the right coach And by
the way, what do you think of the first coach
and put his hand on him? Um, he said, you
don't put my hand. Don't put your hand on me.
All he did was touch his arm. Got's get over
this whole. Well, that's assault, and this is assault, and

(04:18):
that's assault. He just put his hand on his arm.
Um even the Juwan Howard half a punch, I mean,
come on now, Yeah, technically he was an assault, but
it was just a little bit scrap. You know, he
probably he probably deserves like a one game suspension. And
that said, anybody think that he needs to lose his
job is I think going overboard? But he lost it.

(04:38):
He was he was very upset and either you want
to talk smack, I'll talk smack. But he started this
whole thing and he's looky, none of his players are
gonna get suspended. For here's where I thought and went
over the edge, and and and again. If you're just
tuning in tonight, and this is your kick off to
the sports week, if you will. After the Wisconsin Michigan game,
in which, as Arnie aid out, Wisconsin kicked the snot

(05:01):
out of Michigan, John Howard in the handshake line, I
had some words for the Wisconsin head coach and you
could tell, I mean right away. The analysts were all
over it. Right, and and then you know, the players
got between it. Someone came in and started talking a
little gas and he reached over the top, did John

(05:24):
Howard and threw a punch. I don't think you should
be fired, right, And immediately in our soft society it's all, oh,
he should be fired. I mean, it's just it's it's
it's a little bit much. But okay, let let me
let me pose another angle to this to you. So
this morning in My Tulsa World, which is the penultimate

(05:47):
sports rag on the planet, one of the columnists, Bill
hasten Um, basically laid out that we should do away
with the postgame handsheet. We had an issue in both
the college and a pro game here in in Oklahoma.
We saw the picture that made the rounds already in
what was it Wisconsin? Were the kid through a haymaker

(06:10):
and knocked the opposent out. Is it is it time
to just do away with the post game pleasant tries?
And because we go to the locker room or no,
because we can't act like human beings after a game.
That's what it's come down to. We we were just
so wound up in in in in sports, which is
by the way, like Howard Coastell said, the toy department

(06:31):
of life that we can't even bring ourselves to after
the game has done to say, you know what, good game, Um, congratulations.
We just can't act like that. That's ridiculous. Sure, there's
gonna be times, as you mentioned just now, that things
get out out of hand, but come on, man, let's
let's be honest. How many times of the time it's fine?

(06:52):
Don't We love the handshakes at the end of the
NHL playoff series and they line up and but they
don't do it after every game. No, they don't it
after every game. They don't do it after every game
in in the playoffs, in the NBA, either in Major league.
But so maybe we should stop doing it after every
game or you're just saying after the regular seasons what
you're saying, I'm saying, well, is this a regular season

(07:14):
game that happened tonight? Am I speaking Chinese or French
or German? No, Arnie, I just I I wonder if
this is a situation where we look at it and say,
you know, we've done We've used excuses to do away
with a lot of things, right, We've used COVID to
do away with locker room access and for the most part,
post game handshakes and pleasant trees between teams. Is this

(07:37):
another magnification of what can happen whenever you have grown
ass men try to be buddies after battling. We're fine
on this, and we're not going to change something for
the one or two percent that don't know how to
act or behave um after a game. So no, I'm
I'm not gonna cancel it. I continue doing exactly the

(08:00):
way it is right now. Now with COVID, they stopped
doing it for a while. Um I've seen some of
the basketball teams. You go over and you give a
wave to the other team, or you know, like your
your waive your stick if it's hockey or something like that.
But um, no, don't do away with the handship just
because Juwan Howard got bent out of shape. I'm not
saying one way or the other. I I don't care.

(08:20):
I think that to me, postgame interviews are too soon.
I think you need about a twenty minute cooling off
period for a lot of things. And in the world
of college basketball, college football, pro sports, Arnie, it's kind
of tough whenever you're in the heat of the battle
to basically say, ah, my guy, I mean you're the

(08:41):
biggest proponent of wanting to go after another player that
you're piste off at. But I'm not gonna started. If
somebody wants to throw a bunch of me, then expect
something back. My friend, Well, do you listen to yourself
on Sunday nights? You absolutely sit there like, oh if
someone did that to me? Yeah. Well, if you can

(09:03):
get triggered by anything, and you're sitting here saying, oh,
it's you know I I wouldn't do that. You basically
have built a foundation on sports radio, Arnie of talking
about how you would beat someone's ass if they did
anything to you. That would be considered less than sportsmanship.
The Proxemhi stupid from the Bronx New York. I'm not

(09:23):
from Oklahoma. Things are gonna get different in the Bronx
New York than it isn't Los Angeles or Oklahoma. My friends. Yeah,
so again, you're sitting here contradicting your own argument. Oh well,
I wouldn't do anything if they did anything to me. No,
if I threw the first punch, I'd be just as wrong.
I'm not gonna go ahead and defen Juan Howard. Um,
what he did was he made a mistake. But I

(09:44):
think we're on the same part of this where we're
not well, I'm not gonna have him get fired or
anything like that, but a game or two, I don't
know how many games, right, you're going to give him.
They came out pretty fast with the apology. You know
what bothered me was that Juwan Howard doubled down afterwards
and then doing mia copa just just you know, said well,

(10:05):
you don't grab my arm and and stuff like that.
And I'm like, come on, man, be a man about it.
I said, you know what, I I lost my marbles,
and uh, it's never gonna happen together. Okay, Can I
pose a question real quick, just just for the sake
of because I want to read a tweet right off
the top? Authentic Allen who brings race into a conversation
about breakfast? Cereal? Right? Did Planks say Howward through a

(10:28):
haymaker It's obvious you have either never been in a
fight or have never thrown a punch or got beat
up as a nerdy kid. Please stop. You sound like
two nerds in Middle America. The other coach grabbed him. Okay,
First of all, if those roles were reversed and the
Wisconsin coach did that to Juwan Howard, authentic, Allen, where

(10:51):
would you be right now? Jowan Howard came over the
top with the punch. Describe it however you want. He
threw a punch at him whenever the initial hands touching
him were made as soon as the coach came to
talk to him. And the way, we're wrong. But if
the roles were reversed, oh my gosh, authentic, Alan would

(11:14):
want everyone to have this coach from Wisconsin fired if
he touched John Howard like dude, the other coaches grabbed
him the again the other coach, didn't you put his
hand on his arm? Oh my goodness, didn't you want
Howard play in the NBA? I mean, stop with the
grab and the assault and stuff like that. Come on now,

(11:37):
how so you just caused me to throw something, Alan,
I mean, my gosh, what are we doing tonight? I
I don't think either one of us are saying one
side in this is right or wrong. Nobody needs to
be fired. John Howard threw a punch, that's clear. He
went trust me, the intentions in the punch were much

(11:58):
more severe and what ended up happening right here, and
you can see about midway through, I think conscious kicked
in and it's like, oh okay, let's you can kind
of see it's like I'm gonna kick that. Oh you
know what, Let's let's hold off here just a bit.
But what a what a wild story to start the week.
You know, we're getting a lot on Twitter. Abigail brings
up a good point because I'll say this, and many

(12:18):
of our society are pushing for people to be fired
over someone saying something or using words that offend people.
So it's okay to assault someone. Let's call it out.
Let's call all of it out. Let's not be selective,
which is a point. I mean, you could say something
and you're gonna go in and get canceled in This
canceled the society. And did you see what Bake wrote

(12:38):
on Twitter? Which is the best way to get in
touch with the show. It's stinking genius. Want to plank
show Bake rights. Every week I watch UFC and see
grown ass men and women beat the absolute s out
of each other and when it's over, they shake hands
and show respect. Folks need to grow I'm gonna hit
the light button on that one. I like that something

(12:59):
I would say. I can't believe I didn't say that.
I should have been on time. Perfect. You're not going
to take the credit that you went to his house
and made him type of yeah, you know what, I'm
gonna take credit for that from Bake. I'm gonna I'm
gonna take credit for that. Thank you, Well done, Bobbo, Well,
thank you all right. Well, the Juwan Howard Stower story
is definitely a big story in sports tonight. And we
just wrapped up our first Sunday and we sit here

(13:20):
at about a quarter past the hour, and we all
survived our first Sunday without the NFL. Are you okay?
I mean not really not. I had a tough time
of naps. Some people act like I took one right
before the show. I some people act like, oh my gosh, football,
I don't know what I'm gonna do. It gonna be okay,
you know the NFL football is what? But you got

(13:43):
USFL coming up soon? Right? Are you gonna be in
on that? I don't know. Maybe I think I am
didn't we try to be in on that with the
uh the other pro league that started a couple of
years the XFL and we and it just never really materialized.
And anything. I wonder how much of a talking topic
it's gonna be on this. Do they have a team

(14:04):
out here in Vermont? Maybe I'll be into it. I
don't know if they no, but but we do have
football news to get to next. Plus, a fascinating storyline
develops in the NBA, not involving the All Star Game
or the dunk competition, but the future of the Lakers.
We'll get into the next on Fox Sports Radio. Fox

Sarny in Plank, Fox Sports Radio, Bobo running the show,
Danny g making sure we stay on tracks, Steve de
Seger on updates, and Eric pinkas Yes joins us. Pumped
to talk to Eric and spend a minute first of all, Eric,
before we dive into all the stories surrounding the Lakers

(15:30):
this weekend. Kind Of give me your perspective on the
All Star Game. What stood out to you all Star weekend?
I mean, I've never seen anything universally panned as much
as the dunk competition was. But kind of how do
the All Star Games stack up in your mind? I
think it's your usual kind of you know whatever for

(15:50):
a while, and then at some point, guys getting a
little more serious. At some point we remember that Steph
Curries maybe the best shooter that has ever existed, and uh,
you know, guys fight for it at the end, and
it's I kind of like the format. Uh you know,
as long as you win a quarter, you get something
for your charity. Everybody is happy in the end. All

(16:11):
Star Saturday Night to be honest, I enjoyed it. I
don't enjoy the dunk dun test much. I think it's
been a while. I mean, obviously the Zach Levine Aaron
Gordon dunk contests, Uh, we're fantastic, but it's it's just
an event that that hasn't been great consistently for a
long time. But I like the skills challenges, I love

(16:33):
the three point shootout, and it's a for me. It's
a fun night until you get to the end, you know,
like it's it's it's That was rough, man, I mean,
I don't know what else to say. That was That
was painful to watch? All right, Eric, what's let's get
to Lebron. First of all, he hit the game winner,
but do we know what's going on now? He still
wants to play with Brawny? What was he sending? What

(16:54):
message was he sending to everybody out there? What message
was he sending to the Lakers about this? Well? Yeah,
I wrote a column on Bleacher Report that kind of
the sex three different items um that came up over
the course of the last twenty four hours. Lebron talking
about um, you know, the door is not closed on
him playing in Cleveland again. Uh, just lavishing praise on

(17:16):
on on Presty the general manager over in Oklahoma City. Uh,
and then talking about playing with his son. Now, playing
with his son is nothing new. I think everybody's you
know that that's I mean, I get it, you know,
I mean, that's a dream. And so you know, I
think he suggested that when the time comes, if it's
not about money at that point, it's about the opportunity

(17:37):
to play with his son, that that's just you know,
I can't even argue with that. But if you put
everything together, Um, and if you look at some of
Lebron's history, leaving Miami, leaving Cleveland the way he did
a couple of times, you know, there there tends to
be a little uh, I don't know, maybe breadcrumb trail
of passive aggressive kind of you know. And and and

(18:00):
you sign up with Lebron, you sign up for something.
You know, you're the Lakers. You trade away all your
kids and a bunch of basically all all the picks
that you could at the time to get him and
or at least to get him in Anthony Davis over
the course of a period of time. Uh, it's just
the nature of the beast you're you're in a win
now mode. And and and to to carry that forward

(18:22):
the Lakers if they are going to do whatever it
takes with Lebron. From what I understand, Clutch Sports and
what I wrote on is Clutch Sports represents John Wall,
who is in Houston. He's not playing this year. He's
in a very bad situation for him, for the Clutch brand.
It would kill two birds with one stone. I mean,
if the Westbrook decision wasn't the right one and it's

(18:44):
not working, well, go get John Wall. You're getting their
player out of purgatory. And then if he comes and
saves the Lakers, you know, it's great for his career,
it's great for Lebron's career a career, and naturally they
believe in John Wall because they represent him, and the
Lakers were not willing to sacrifice their future. Uh. And

(19:07):
and that's an issue for for for for Lebron and
Clutch at least I've been told and Lebron has and
this is really the crux of it. It's time for
Lebron to sign an extension soon. He he can sign
an extension in August, and so the Lakers will have
to make the key decisions and the heart of their
off season won't be done in June around the draft

(19:28):
and July and free agency, so they need to know
or they need to decide, or Lebron needs to decide.
Everybody needs to be on the same page. If they're
going to extend him for another couple of years, so
be it. But they need to build a team that
that can win around him. And then at that point, yeah,
you really don't care as much about future considerations and
picks and those sort of things, so you do what

(19:49):
you have to do. But if if that's not going
to happen, and if he's only there for one more year,
then the Lakers post Lebron need to start thinking about
what's next. Yea, so I um, I don't know how
to put it, but the whole praising of Sam Presty
and uh, I want to play with my son, listen,

(20:10):
I get it, but it kind of piste me off
as a Laker fan because you're getting everything you wanted, right,
you got your gm um, You've got everything in place
that you want, and I feel like it's that person
that you just can't make happy. They wanted Carmel or
he wanted Carmel, he wanted Russ and then he gets
in and he's like, well, I'd love to play in

(20:31):
Cleveland again, and whoever gets my son, that's where I'm
gonna play. I mean, I don't know, am I being
too hyper sensitive on this because I'm like, what are
we doing? Eric? It's like, stand up and try to
fix this team and not always try to create an
out right and and like I'm not a big fan
of like what about is him? You look at what
what James Harden did. You know, he basically demanded and

(20:53):
he got traded while under multi year contract out of
Houston to Brooklyn and essentially did the same uh in
Brooklyn to go to Philadelphia. I mean, the top stars
in the game control their destiny, they control their fate.
And contracts are our contracts, but you know, they have
a lot of power to manipulate things, just as you
know Ben Simmons did as well. It wasn't pretty, but

(21:15):
he got what he wanted as well, and so you
just have to understand that's the game. I think that
Lebron from his point of view, wanted Russell Westbrook at
least that's what um. You know, the intel I have
and and he met with Russ before the before the
Lakers traded for him, and that kind of led to
what ultimately occurred. And so you say, well, it was

(21:39):
you know, did did the Lakers mess up to by
by listening to Lebron? A strong GM would they do? What?
You know, to me, a strong GM will say no
to the star player. But the Lakers didn't, and it
wasn't the right move. And at the same time, you know,
they've they've had injuries from the get go, but then
they also invested like seventy eight almost percent of their

(21:59):
SALD are in three players. So if you have that
kind of imbalance, you're not gonna be able to handle injuries.
It's just you're you're not built with depth. Almost the
whole roster they're they're like minimum players, which doesn't mean
they're they're not good players. There anybody in the NBA
is is an elite player, but you know, relatively speaking,
they're not as elite maybe as guys who are you know,

(22:21):
making more money than there. So you know, it's just
it is what it is. You know, Lebron made the bed.
He doesn't want to lie in it, but um, you know,
some of its injury. Some of it has been the
fit with Russ, and from his point of view, I
can speculate that there was a fix, and it would
have been addition by subtraction, um, subtracting Russ, adding in

(22:45):
just just subtracting, they would be better, and then adding
in Wall would in their point of view, at least
the Clutch point of view. And and being that Lebron
is clutch, you have to kind of a lot of
people equate the two Clutch equals Lebron that that that
would have been a solution that could have made this
season better, but unfortunately a lot of its injury related

(23:06):
and bad luck. And eight he's hurt again too, exactly,
And then you know what every guy, First of all,
how's Russell Westbrook heady on hand? Only this privately, because
privately I'd be really hissed off with the rest of
the team saying, I mean putting all the play on
me and to Eric, let me explained to you if
I told you the Lakers should get themselves somebody who
could average like eighteen or nineteen a game, maybe give
you like eight rebounds, seven and a half. Since you

(23:28):
tell you, why, yeah, let's do it. What do I
sign up. That's Russell, that's Russell Westbrook's numbers. I think
we're putting way too much play on Russell Westbrook. I
agree with you earlier where you said a lot of
it with the injuries. I mean they Anthony Davis, my goodness,
now you know why everybody called him street close. It's
just ridiculing with the injuries out there. Eric, So like
I have sympathy, you know I don't. I only have.
My sympathy only goes so far. And that Russ is

(23:50):
making forty four million dollars and next year seven. So
I'm not gonna cry for Russell Westbrook. He's getting paid
for this job and he's not in a great situation.
But putting aside the money and you know, treating him
like a human being, which he is, it's not his
he's who he is. He's the same guy who average
triple double. He's the same guy who you know at
times it didn't work with Kevin Durant where you would

(24:14):
have the end of a playoff game in the most
important moment and the ball's got to get to Katie,
and instead Russ is driving into traffic and making something
like he's so impulsive and headstrong that you're just like, wait,
slow down, make the right basketball play instead of just attack, attack, attack,
same guy, he can't shoot, that's okay. You know I
can't shoot either. You know what I'm saying. It's like

(24:36):
he's he's a bad shooter. It's not a great fit.
But really, I think the imbalance is in the resources.
You know, forty four million dollars. If you had gotten
Buddy healed, or if you didn't get Buddy healed, and
you just kept the guys you had, you're talking about three,
four or five other players that you could have had.
Alex Caruso, if you kept Kyle Kuzman, he's having a

(24:56):
great year if you kept KCP. I'm not saying these
guys are world eaters, but you know, it's one of
those things where grass is greener. Lakers didn't win last
year because they d got hurt. Now, who knows if
they win at all, But you can argue, at least
looking at the West, that they get to the finals,
if they get past the Suns, that they doesn't get hurt.
And so my opinion is that they overreacted to the

(25:18):
loss UH and made made some moves that just don't
make sense on paper. I don't blame Westbrook for being
who he is. It's the it's the team that went
out and decided that he was going to be the
right fit. You're so money, Eric Pinks, great stuff as always, man.
We'll be talking to you a lot during the NBA season.
Have a great week, all right, guys, anytime. Thanks. I

(25:40):
love that dude, Eric Pinks and getting them a little
early on the West coast. All right. So we got
a lot to unpack from there. Let's immerge ourselves in it.
And while we do it, Steve de Sager comes rolling
in with everything going on in the world of sports.
What's up, Steve? Good evening, gentlemen in Cleveland. The NBA
All Star Game at a halftime score of three. Eventually

(26:01):
Team Lebron came back for a victory over Team Durant
one sixty three to one sixty The final Steph Curry
at fifty points and was the game m v P.
I'll be curious to see in the TV ratings what
gets the higher number tonight NBA All Star Game or
the Winter Olympics closing ceremony. They're on opposite each other
daytona five hundred might top both of those, by the way,

(26:23):
more on that race in a moment. But looking at
the stat sheet, the losing side committed only two fouls
the whole night, and I believe Team Durant did not
attempt a free throw for the first three quarters either.
The winning side only attempted to free throws in the
whole game. The winning side from three point range was
twenty seven of sixty two and the losing side on

(26:44):
three pointers twenty one of fifty nine. Wow, from three
point range, Steph Curry, did you see the one from
from straight away right now? Ridiculous? He shot it and
immediately turned and headed back to the other end of
the court, and knowing it was going in, and he
was that hot at the time I hit my last
two three quarters at it was going to be about

(27:07):
three point range. He was sixteen of twenty seven tonight,
a record. He kept shooting at the end and missing
more near the end of the game than than ever before.
But it's the elam ending for a third year in
a row, the so called ending where it's not a
timed fourth quarter, and we've gotten more excitement out of
it doing it this way, where they just have a

(27:28):
set number. In this case, whoever gets to one sixty
three first wins. And so they were at one sixty
one Lebronze team and lebron had the ball in his
head that an incredible turnaround. It looked like a high
lob and it dropped for the game winning shot. He
had twenty four points eight one sixty three. One sixty
is the final. And this from stats inc that Steph

(27:48):
Curry is the first since well almost a decade in
whether NBA to make sixteen three pointers in a game,
either NBA or w n b A or college ends
or women's regular postseason or all star game, to make
sixteen three pointers in one game since a player for
Division three Grinnell College in Iowa. Remember they had those

(28:10):
high scoring games. They had a game in ten they
won it one seventy three to one twenty three college
forty minute game. This kid, a little guard, played about
thirty minutes and scored a hundred nine points in a
college game. And that night from long distance, he was
twenty four of forty eight in under thirty minutes. So yeah,

(28:34):
so really, what did Stephen Curry do? After all? Uh
Son's guard Chris Paul barely played, he will miss at
least six to eight weeks with the broken handy suffered
this past week. By the way, Donovan mitchelly Utah did
not play tonight due to illness. Kevin Durant was not
there after a death in the family. The Daytona five
hundred was won by Austin Cyndric. Bubba Wallace was a

(28:54):
very close second, and today was team owner Roger Pensky's
eighty fifth birthday. Cindric, age twenty three, is the son
of Team Penskey president Tim Cindric and Indie native. Cindric
was promoted from the Exfinity Series to replace Bragg Kezlowski
in the number two four. Now he'll be in this
year's playoffs already he's a race winner and he knows

(29:16):
at the end of the season he'll be there and
the NFL story tonight. NFL Network has been on this
Agents of about a hundred fifty NFL draft prospects are
organizing a boycott of next month's combine if the current
bubble restrictions are not changed unless players are each allowed
to have their full team of coaches and trainers, then
they'll boycott all the on field workouts and interviews on

(29:40):
the p g A Tour in l a Jaukee, Neiman
won by two strokes, and in college hoops on FS
one tonight, seventeenth ranked USC hit the last second jumper
to win sixty two sixty over Washington State. Back to you, thanks, Steve.
It's Arnie and Plank on what used to be a
Fox Football Sunday? How did you send your first non
football Sunday? What you do a lot of naps? I

(30:02):
went to watch the car, uh, stuff like that. That's
when you start running all your errands. You gotta you
gotta places that you never really wanted Walmart or home
Depot or something like that, and you get some chopping done. Good.
Call good. I walk around home Depot and just act
like I know what I'm looking at. Yes, Yes, I
need that comuter valve. What There's no such thing? Hey, Um,

(30:24):
can I ask a dumb question? Absolutely? Ask Away asked, well,
I mean, and again, I don't know, Bobo, how you
feel about this or Danny g Is Lakers guys, but
the the whole I live in Oklahoma, Okay, breaking news.
I'm a hay seed that lives in Oklahoma, Okay. Sam

(30:45):
Presty had a really good draft pick in Josh Kitty.
Outside of that, he kind of really been all that
good since picking what maybe Steven Adams in two thousand
and thirteen, you know, maybe he went Lebron, James went
back to James Harden. But I mean, to me, Arnie,

(31:07):
no fence. But that's kind of like you bragging about
I mean, well, let me rephrase that, you bragging about
picking von Miller to win the m v P and
the Super Bowl and what two thousand and fifteen. He's
more recent than when James Harden or Russell Westbrook were
drafted by Oklahoma City. I mean, is some of the

(31:28):
first round picks since by Sam Presty have worked out? Okay,
I mean Eric Bledsoe he drafted, but Eric Bledsoe never
played for Oklahoma City, nor did Craig Brackens or Quincy Pondexter,
who were first round picks in two thousand and ten. Uh.
He drafted Perry Jones in two thousand and twelve. Archie

(31:49):
Goodwin was the first round pick of the Thunder Mitch
McGarry in two thousand and fourteen campaign, who they cut
before he ever even stepped on the court. Terrence Ferguson,
Brandon Clark, h Emmanuel quickly never stepped on the court
for the thunder Um. I just, I mean, I don't know, Arnie.
I'm I'm sitting here and I'm wondering what what is

(32:12):
what is Lebron talking about or something. I think he's
tried to build up anybody that will take him and
his son. By the way, do we even know if
Brownie is an NBA type player. It's an article today
that he's a second round pick. He's a third best
player on his own high school team. I think Obron
just wants to go ahead and and and play with
his son so badly. You'll play anywhere with him, you know.

(32:32):
I mean, and and again, that's cool, But you're right.
I mean, I'm I'm sitting there and I don't know
who it popped up in my feet. I mean, and again,
I'm I'm not gonna pretend to follow the NBA draft
like I follow the NFL draft. But Arnie, I kind
of just assumed that Brownie James Jr. Was U And

(32:54):
I guess he's not technically a junior, right, And that
makes him mad when you say it's so sorry, Brownie,
But I kind of I kind of thought that he
was just a slam dunk topic in the draft, and
and and he I guess, Danny g He's not right. Yeah,
I mean, Brawny has ranked forty six in the country

(33:15):
right now. It's not a short thing in the NBA draft.
But we know an NBA high school or forty six
out of all players in college. He ranked forty six
out of the best high school. Oh jeez, yeah, basketball player.
I believe that's correct. I'll double check that. I thought
you met like the best in college and high school.

(33:37):
All right, go ahead now. And you know, an NBA
team though, they will take a flyer on drafting him
because they'll get Lebron for at least one season. Yes,
merchandise everything involved in that. And I think to speak
for most Laker fans, there's a ton of them here
at our network. We really wanted Caruso to be resigned,

(33:59):
and we wanted Buddy Healed, and because we knew we
needed some shooters, and and if we had Caruso and
Healed on the team this season, we would have felt
a lot better going into the season. Younger a little
bit of defense, And you're correct also about keep in
mind the star studded high school team he plays on here, Bronnie,

(34:19):
here in l A c Here Canyon, he would be
he would be, yeah, not that far from our studios.
He would be the third, at best, the third best
player on that roster, that one high school team. Because
the guy that's going to u c. L A. Is
going to be in the McDonald's All American Game, and
the kid that's going to USC is going to be
the McDonald's All American Game. Brownnie James is not Lebron

(34:40):
Lebron an amazing player, a really bad GM and that's
why we want Yeah, I'm sorry, Bobo. We were talking
about this off the air. Yeah, And I was just
gonna say, Dwayne Wade son Enough said, like playing for
the G League team and he's averaging on like two
point four points a game, like ridiculous. Why I'm so

(35:01):
mad about this? I don't know why, Arnie and they
the guy's hit it on the head. It's just And
I live in Oklahoma and Sam Presti again has done
an incredible job, he really has. But why the draft
history recently has not been good? And I mean, yes,
Josh Giddy is great, but you're going back to two

(35:25):
thousand and nine. If you're bragging about great picks that
he made, oh nine, Uh so, I I don't know.
I think I think it's just a very frustrating thing,
because I would hope that it would be, Hey, we
gotta fix this. We're gonna be doing things to try
to get it right at uh and with Lakers and this,

(35:47):
and I know we gotta break guys and this is
steam franchise. But Aretie, it's almost as if he's doing
everything but talking about the issues with the Lakers. It's
oh gosh, I would love to go back to Cleveland.
Welcome return. I'm gonna play with ron Ronnie Jr. Wherever
he ends up. And oh, Sam Presty has done a
great job. And I'm just like, what what are we

(36:07):
doing here right now? He's just worried about his future.
He's already writing this year off like it's a tax
for third I'm writing this year off. I forget about
that one. You know, that's actually a pretty good tay.
But I'm very triggered by I'm trying to calm myself down,
and we'll take a break to do so. All right, Hey,
when we come back, who's right who's wrong in the
Michigan v. Wisconsin. Donnie Brooke will dive into it next

(36:30):
on Fox Sports Radio. Oh, it's already in Plank on
Fox Sports Radio. So wait. You kind of pushed back
against me when I said it's the first non Sunday
for football. Uh, and you're like, oh, no, no, no,
what did you get in some football today? Or no, no,

(36:53):
I I just met football coming up. That's all. I
just you know, either you like football, then you're gonna
watch the USFL, or you're just the NFL football and
you're gonna be miserable. Though we have a lot of
off season news. I'm sure that's gonna be coming down,
if you know what I could. Last night I filled
in for Bernie Fratto, which again I keep forgetting that

(37:14):
I am. You know, I'm getting a little older, right,
I'm so old man. And so when I do the
shut up Bobo go ahead, thanks, thanks Bobo. I appreciate you.
So I lay it out because and I have some
Sunday Sooner responsibilities with my defending national championship Oklahoma sooners.

(37:38):
Don't think I don't think I don't know what you
did today to everybody's asking me about that what I
do or what you and the Sager did. It's disgusting. Okay,
we'll get you later because I have no idea what
you're talking. Because my Arizona Wildcats beat Oklahoma and baseball yesterday.
You didn't even bring it up. Oh I'm sorry. You
gave you the SmackDown. You beat the snot out. Do

(37:59):
you know at Oklahoma diad? They came back today, So
I'm happy about it. Your boys look good. I wish
we could play you every game. You're having a nice,
a nice start. Tomorrow we need to do is play
you in softball now please? And football Saturday? Will we
play you in softball? Yeah? Wow this Saturday. I'm okay,

(38:21):
bring it so anyway. But my point is, it takes
me a while to like recover from the Overnight show. Right.
Whenever I was a kid, my dad, my dad worked overnights,
and I'd always be like, oh, come on, dad, let's party,
let's play. And I would when when I was in
my twenties and I would do this, and even my
my thirties, I don't mind the Overnight. Somehow I hit

(38:43):
my forties, ARENI, and it's like a break wall. So
I only bring it up because of this. We talked
so much football. Oh my gosh, I absolutely love did
we spend an hour on baseball? Believe it or not.
I got fired, then I got rehired to UH to
dive back in and talk about some NFL. And I
keep coming back to the quarterback question. Aren't you are we?

(39:06):
Are we gonna end up with another wild off season
and quarterback movement? And yes, and it's and it's probably
gonna start with Tom Brady because I'm really not believing
that he's retiring and walking away. I think he and
I filled in for with Mark Willard on Saturday for
Joey Taylor, and you know he's up there in San Francisco.
There's nothing definitive or anything like that. But I really

(39:28):
believe if I was gonna bet this thing, I take
some odds and Betty's gonna end up in San Francisco.
I really believe that. Really. Can I play the audio
for you later from UH are you? Now? Let me
ask you this. Are you getting that from Mike Florio
of Pro Football Talks theory? Are you just buying into

(39:49):
it because you got a hunch. No, I'm buying into
it one because of the story that came out about
him and Bruce Arians about right. I'm not getting along
um to that he really know what he said never
say never. You know that's that that was big. You
know that's big. So I mean, I'm just putting two
and two together and feeling I don't think this guy's
really done it. I don't think he would have made

(40:10):
an announcement had them the report not leaked out. I agree,
I absolutely agree, But I'm just I'm curious if Tampa
is gonna let him go, arn'tie. Is that gonna be
something that happens. Yeah, I'm not sure how that's going
to play out. I'm sure they'll work something out, but
you know, I'm I'm sure that Tom will convince him

(40:31):
to say I want to go here. You know. Well, listen,
I've got some audio and I want to dive into
that next because I think the theory that's posed by
Mike Florio is very interesting. Is Tom Brady's future still
in Tampa or is it it San Francisco. We'll dive
into the next on Fox Sports Radio. It's already a

(40:54):
plank on a Fox Sports Radio. Um. By the way,
well usually have Todd Ferman on this hour. Um, he's
not coming on today, but maybe in that a segment
for a couple of minutes, I'll tell my All Star
Game betting story. Can I Can I read a tweet
All Star Game betting story. I think, oh this is

(41:16):
it's it's a at least I think it's a true
story from what I remember. Um, and it caused chaos
in Las Vegas? All right? Can I pose this to
the crew real quick? Bubba? Do you remember this story
and already telling it in the past? Wait? What story?
I kind of because already started talking on the same

(41:37):
way the All Star Game story that he talks about
from the gambling perspective. Oh yeah, he's told it like
ten times times. Yeah, maybe maybe more. I hate you
guys to the audience all the time. Listen, well, we'll say,
because I do want to hear it. I want to
hear it. No, No, I'm not gonna tell to you

(41:58):
talk about it, so I can take my headsets, please. Yeah,
Bobo needs to take a break, so he's been working
hard today. Tell it again? Can you tell us the
Forest Whitaker story after that? More than you went to
high school? Jenny buss Bus? Sorry, did I say Jenny bussy.
What the hell am I? What am I on tonight?
Or that you were actually Arizona's first pick before they

(42:19):
got Steve Kerr. Want can I read a tweet? Listen?
I know tonight. Yeah, And I'm trying not to get
sucked in because I'm triggered by a couple of things.
I'm triggered by the Lebron thing. I just gosh, dude,
I can't. Last night, I filled in. I've not looking
at me. I'm bringing up the fill in on the

(42:39):
Overnight Show, which is why I have no pretty big deal.
I'm a huge deal around here on Fox Sports Radio,
goes Colin Coward, Chris Plank, R J. Bell. But barely.
But let me let me tell you something, Martie. I
am so angry that this dude who's getting And here's

(43:02):
part of it. I've stood up for you, Lebron. I
fought for you. I've gone to the mattresses for Lebron James.
Whenever people are like, oh, he's never gonna be Kobe
or he's never gonna be Magic, I've kind of I've
fought for that. I've said, you don't know what you're getting.
In Los Angeles, we've got to embrace this whatever. People.

(43:25):
I'm not really big into the goat conversations, though apparently
this week might be the week for it. Not a
lot going on in sports, but I've never really been
big on that. But I would fight for Lebron. I
I am a Lebron apologist, but I think I turned
this week. So I'm very triggered by his reaction with

(43:46):
whoever gets Brownie Jr. That's where I'm gonna play, which
I didn't slap in the face to Laker fans, is
it not? I mean, I mean, what a what a
spit in the eye just saying Okay, I know that
after this year and next year, I'm probably gonna be
out of here unless the Lakers grab my saw and um,
I'm gonna go somewhere where I can play with him.
I I just the whole thing is wrong. I mean,
I understand that what he wants to do that five,

(44:08):
but I mean it's it's the sun in the face
to Laker fence. Does that mean the Lakers are gonna
go out and get Brawny and just bring him into
the Lakers and then to lose Lebron or is this
just the way of having a broad walk without having
a big back way. I that's a great question. I
don't know, and I'm very again, I I can't hide
by allegiances. Kudos to those that can. I mean, there's

(44:30):
not many out there. Like Listen, I'm sorry. College can't
hide his USC homerism. It's just so blatant and obvious anymore.
So I can't hide my Laker homerism. Right, It's just
but this is a bus what's going on right now?
And how you can have a retirement ceremony if he
plays his last year in Oklahoma City or something like that,
I mean you can't. I mean the Lakers may just

(44:52):
want to keep Lebron around just so he retires as
a Laker, you know. And I honestly and again, I
cover Oklahoma City. I cover the thunder. Do you know
on my local show? I have a three hour local
show in Oklahoma City? And do you know how often
we talk about the thunder over the last two years?
Arenie zero? We don't there there. It's ridiculous what's going

(45:16):
on right now. They're in a consummate rebuild. Now if
they finally decide all right, we're done accumulating more picks
than there are spots on the roster, then let's go.
But it's it's it triggered me, man, And I think
Sam Presty is a fine GM, but you're bragging on
his drafts from twelve years ago. I mean, what are

(45:39):
we gonna do next? Are we gonna Are we gonna
brag on David Gettleman for drafting Cam Newton, trying to
plant the seed for him to play with his son, obviously,
And by the way, if he said that about any
other fan base, Um, hey New York Knicks fans, or
hey Philadelphia seventy six er fans, I'm leaving after year
and half because i want to go and play with

(46:00):
my son. They'd say leave now then, you know, I mean,
they really would give him the attitude. So I'm surprised.
L A is laid back, so they don't really care.
They live in the moment, you know. Well, I don't know,
I think this could if this continues to go south
for the Lakers in two I don't know, Arnie, I
think that frustration might turn a little bit ugly. Just

(46:24):
just saying, by the way, I'm watching Joe Leonardi before
I get to this other tweet that triggered me how
about your Arizona Wildcats as a potential one seed right now? Yeah,
I'm very excited about that. I mean, there's a college
jup's time yet. Do we have to wait for March?
But that's never stopped you before. No, I mean it's
exciting time. But I mean, like I said, people are

(46:45):
not getting all into it. You know, Colin mentioned, Um,
I don't know if it was a couple of days
ago that there was like a identity problem for college basketball.
They've got a real problem. And I think he's right
on that. I mean back in and I don't want
to say back in the day, but um, you know,
twenty years ago college basketball was so much more popular.

(47:07):
It's hard to imagine a big sport like college basketball
getting less popular as the years go along. But that's
exactly what's going on here, you know. Well, and and
again let me fall back to where some people like
to consider this some sort of character flaw that I
don't live in a major market. But we're fighting and
scratching and Klawn just trying to get people to go

(47:28):
to games in Oklahoma, right and so it's it's tough
or even in a college town to get people jazzed
about college basketball, though I will say that's a pretty
badass atmosphere. Last night in Arizona, Chel Center was hopping
you should be fired out, I mean again, because really
the college football team is the one nobody's going to

(47:48):
those games, so it's opposite of Oklahoma. But I have
to agree overall, I mean, Martin, nothing's like March Madness,
but by real quickly. So I feel like I've developed.
As we welcome you into Fox WORTS Radio on a
Sunday night into a Monday morning, I feel like I've
developed to Nemesis on Twitter, authentic Allen, who I actually
gave credit to last night, and um petty underscore g

(48:12):
W because this might be without a shot at the
odd Couple here, but this might be the dumbest tweet
ever sent to this shot. I mean absolutely the dumbest
tweet ever. He writes, how in the hell can you
talk about the NBA and not talk about the All
Star Game? It's only what everyone is talking about. It

(48:33):
was a great finish, love the Elen finish, and social
media is buzzing about the game. Can we have the
odd couple please? Hashtag WTF? Wow? Are you are you
being serious. Right now? You want more analysis of an
All Star game of an exhibition? Did you have this, Chris?

(48:56):
Where was the defense? Let me tell you something, Rob,
I just what the hell are you talking about? Did
we sit here and over analyze the Pro Bowl? Are
we gonna over analyze the All Star Game for baseball?
Are you gonna be that? No, it's the All Star Game.
The bigger story is what's gonna happen when the NBA

(49:17):
starts playing again on Thursday. Now we can talk to NBA.
Guess what you want to talk about the NBA. The
dunk contest sucked. The All Star Game featured zero I
mean zero defense, and I'm fine with it. I've never
had an issue. Aren't he with people that lose their
minds about All Star games? Guess what? It's fun. The
guys are having fun, the players are involved, and it's

(49:40):
involved in a fun way. I don't care. I'm not
gonna lose my mind about Oh, the dunk contest was stupid?
How can Karl Anthony Towns when the three point contest?
How amazing was Steph Curry? I just let the guys
have fun, let them have their week off, and we go.
I don't think there's much more analysis that. Don't waste
my time with analysis on an All Star game when

(50:02):
we have issues that are much bigger in the NBA
right now. I mean, I mean, if you want to
talk about Steph Curry putting in fifty and if he's
one of the best shooters you ever seen in your life,
and and stuff like that, I I get that. I mean,
his performance was unbelievable, too shy of the record, I mean,
he I just love seeing shooting like that. But as
the who won the game and Lebron's big shot at
the end a congratulations, we leave that to the odd

(50:26):
couple tomorrow. Yeah, exactly. There you go, Petty listen, and
again they do a great job with it. But I
don't know what you would want from that. Hey, Alartie,
what's the greatest All Star Game you've ever seen? Eight
seven seven ninety? Was that the sequel? Greatest, most amazing
performance you've ever seen? In an exhibition where nobody had
a fan in the hand in the face of a shooter.

(50:47):
It seemed like a pregame warm up. Your calls, This
was amazing tonight. How come we're not? I I saw
more talk about the re air of the Madden thing
on ESPN that I did about the All Star Game.
I saw more buzz about NASCAR than I did about
the All Star Game. At Steph Curry shooting threes, there

(51:11):
you go, welcome to the show. But it wasn't. I mean,
tell me you aren't impressed with that. You weren't getting
into that a little bit. I've watched Steph warm up before,
and that's what tonight was. I've gone to games early
and watched Steph Curry shooting warm ups. You know what's
awesome that, and that's what tonight was. I mean, why

(51:33):
does everything have to be some sort of in depth
conversation or some sort of I don't know, picture or
magnification of what's right or what's wrong with sports? Can
things just be a fun of it that don't involve
drilling deeper and the All Star Can the All Star
weekend just be hey, I'm glad, I'm glad everyone had fun.

(51:53):
Does it have to be some sort of indictment against
the competition? Did you see the greatest the mingling around
and stuff like that? I thought that was pretty cool. Also,
though you know, um no, I didn't see that. They
only showed it eight hundred thousand times whenever the game
was going on. By the way, who did who did
vote on that? I think I did the voting is what? Congratulations?

(52:18):
All right, let me hit a couple of tweets here
at Plague Show, at Stinking Genius one, and of course
at Fox Sports Radio. Um Allen, right, bottom line is
this the Wisconsin Wisconsin coach had no business putting his
hands on Juwan Howard, You too seemed to want to

(52:39):
downplay his role. Do you allow people to grab you
in an uninvited fashion? Once that happens, all bets are off.
Howard responded accordingly. But the guy that he hit wasn't
the guy that grabbed him though, Well, here's the other
part of it, right, he was. It was a different guy.
It was a different assist that neither you nor I

(53:00):
I think I've sit here sat here tonight and said,
oh he he had no business getting mad. It took
okay when Um the Wisconsin coach grabbed him. When he
came over and grabbed him to talk to him, Arnie,
they were separated for a good like fifteen seconds before

(53:22):
he threw the punch, and he didn't grab him put
his hand on him. He pulled him kind of to
the side. I thought he did. I mean, to be
honest with you, I thought he kind of and he
kind of pulled him in front of him when they
were just passing each other. And to me, if you're
gonna throw there's your moment right when he grabbed you.
You gotta wait until you get fifty people in between

(53:44):
you before you start trying to play Barney badass. I mean,
that's the thing to me. If you want to say,
well he grabbed him, it sure took him a while
before he decided he was mad about getting grabbed by
the head coach. You bottom line, you have to be
the bigger person over the time out. This isn't even

(54:05):
over like some word or um, you know, something that
was said or anything like that, we were talking about
over time out over game that you we're gonna lose anyway,
so we'll stop it. What's what's the great bit from
the Chappelle Show, one of the all time greats when
Keeping it Real goes wrong. It's a great bit. And um,
it's kind of like John Howard decided that he was

(54:27):
gonna be the tough guy after I mean well, after
everything had kind of been separated and their jawn. They're
going back and forth, and you get three or four
people in between you, and that's when you're gonna throw
the punch. I don't care whose side you're on. That
to me, Arnie, that's what came away kind of weak
in my opinion. And what happens if somebody throws a

(54:47):
punch back and nails Juwan Howard sure and injures him,
then then we got a really big problem at that point.
You know, what if his wild So if you're gonna
get triggered, you soft pansies by me saying he threw
a haymaker. If you're gonna get triggered by that, then
if what of his throw of a punch or his attempt?

(55:09):
What if it would have hit a kid? What if
it would have hit one of the players? Right then
where are we? Then? All of a sudden, all the
kids are throwing down. You gotta suspend everybody at that point.
It's amazing to me because if I say, well, what
if the opposite had happened? Oh, you can't say that.

(55:29):
How dare you say that? I'm sorry? In those instances, Arnie,
you're a coach, you're preaching discipline, you're preaching responsibility. You're
preaching how to be a man. A man doesn't throw
a punch Whenever a timeout is called late in the game,

(55:50):
you have your words, You'll get separated. You go back
to your locker room, take your l take your ol.
It happens in life. You're gonna lose. The response isn't
oh he touched me. Twenty seconds later after he touches
you be like, oh, I get I gotta take your ass.
I'm waring from my life. I'm boring from my life.

(56:10):
Y'all are salt? All right? When we come back on
Fox Sports Radio, Uh, let's dive into more of your
tweets and Artie story from one of his all time
bad beats from the All Star Game. We'll dive into
it next on Fox Sports Radio, SARTI and playing f
Fox Sports Radio. All right, Artie, Yes, hit us with

(56:33):
your bad beat from an WOW And first of it
wasn't a bad beat. It was you know, I've I've
told this story before and I tried to google it
and I can't find I'm either if I'm making it
up in my mind or what. But I'm I'm pretty sure, Uh,
this is what happened. I was, I was living in

(56:53):
Las Vegas. I've been on the NBA All Star Game.
I don't remember what you this was. Um, it was
be like around nineteen eighty eight, maybe trying to right
around there. Anyway, the game was over. I bet the
over and I lost the bet by a point, right,
And I'm pretty cognizant. I'm actually, uh you know, of

(57:15):
of gambling. And I'm living in Las Vegas, so, um,
you know, I have the ticket in my hand and
I lost a pretty you know, bummed out about it
his stuff. I take my ticket. I don't rip it up,
but I throw it in the trash can, and um,
and I don't think about I go to bed. I
wake up the next morning and I get I'm reading
the USA Today. Shows you how old that is. I'm

(57:36):
reading the USA Today and they put the score up
on on the USA Today, and I go, how holy
cow they got the score wrong, because if this was
the real score, the game would have went over because
they had an extra two points on it. And um
and and I double checked the score, and you know
they didn't want when there's no internet anything like that.

(57:57):
And I guess they brought somebody out of the locker
room after the game because it was a foul. I
thought it was Scottie Pippen, but I don't. I'm not sure.
I don't. I don't think it was because he I
don't think it was on the All Star team that year.
But um, somebody shot two free throws and the game
actually went over, and there were people in the sports
books like looking for tickets. Um, and the people the

(58:19):
sports books were taking the trash cans and putting him
in the uh you know, the choppers, so people wouldn't
go through trash cans to try to look for winning tickets.
It was a big mess out there. I wish we
had tadt tonight. I don't know if I'm making it up,
and by head off, that's a real story. For crying
out loud, you know, you know what I mean. But
but I think that's the way it happened, you know,
like we went back and found out that it was

(58:42):
a real story, right right, But you're right, I can't
find anything about it. They'll find it tonight your Google.
You can't find the story about it. But um, and
you know, the lines change, obviously. But in the game,
I bet it was a one point difference. I got
the lost to bet by a point. The guy came
out hit two free throws and it went over and

(59:03):
I'm at, you go do my trash can and pull
them out to cash my ticket. But uh, yeah, this
is that happened this year, many many, many many moons ago,
no doubt about that. But you know what, this might
be one of those things that will have to dig
into a little bit later because if you just google
NBA All Star Game, like free throws after the game

(59:24):
was over, it's everything from tonight's game. But we'll have
to like Bertie Fratto or Todd Ferman or somebody like that. Okay,
So can you give us like a time frame intouh
when you think would I want to say, do do
do do? Like maybe eighty nine, nineties none right around there.

(59:45):
So I don't think Pipper was on the All Star
team that that that year. That's what kind of ruins it.
So I was gonna say, if it's eighty eight, I
think Scottie Pippen was like still in high school, so
it could have been somebody else that came up, but
I was pretty sure was Scottie Pippen when I told
us or so we have to find out the truth
about that. Okay, okay, what's let me let me let
me drill into this a little bit deeper. Do you

(01:00:06):
have any idea where the game was played? No, I
don't know where the game was. I can't remember that,
but I thought it was like a pretty close game.
Like was because if you if you go back to
apparently the most amazing event in sports, according to two
people on my Twitter timeline, uh, the NBA All Star
Game in eight the East beat the West one thirty eight,

(01:00:30):
one thirty three. It was the year before. It was
one fifty five one forty nine and overtime. But I
would assume that destroy the over in that game, right?
What was the score on that one that went went
way over? Okay? In eighty nine in the Astrodome when
Carl Malone was the m v P one three, one

(01:00:54):
thirty four for the West. You're not. You don't remember
anything about remember, I don't remember what year, and it
was such a haze there, Grez, Come on now, but
you think Scottie Pippen was involved. I think Scottie Pippen
was involved. I can't believe nobody's else heard this story.
You might have made it up? Do you take melody? No,

(01:01:14):
I told you the stuff. I told you the story
about the the scorekeeper, the clock keeper that would drag
the games on by an extra like thirty seconds to
a minute and was making the games go over in
the NBA found out and cracked out on him. But
nobody heard that story before that. That's a true story. Also, Okay,
well you know what I am making. I'm giving you

(01:01:36):
the inside stuff that that Vegas doesn't want you to know,
but you don't remember it. That's a problem, ARENI. You're
giving us the inside stuff, but you're not telling the
whole story. Well that's todd next week. I mean they
live in Vegas, they lived that life last and next well,
I'm gonna figure it out. I have made it my
goal for the show to figure that out tonight. And

(01:01:58):
I think I think Addie Pippen's first All Star appearance
was nine in Miami when Magic Johnson won the m
v P. But I'm finding nothing, and I mean nothing
about coming back after the game was overshoot all free throws.
But I'll work on it, Arnie work. I mean, what

(01:02:19):
else do we have going on? Right? Do you want
to debate about Lebron James, you want to fight about
what's going on with quarterbacks? I will solve this mystery tonight.
All right, Uh, We've got an interesting story per Clayton
on what's the frustration level with the Lakers right now?
And I gotta be honest with you. I feel like

(01:02:42):
this is a counter to what Genie Buss had to
say at the All Star break. We'll get to that
coming up in just a bit. But first, Steve Disager
with everything going on in the world of sports, what's up, Steve?
If that was the attitude of the Laker front office
that you guys, including Lebron, you did this. You major
bed sleeping it, that would be the exact thing that

(01:03:03):
Phil Jackson would have done. He did not to the
team on the court many times. That's why he wouldn't
call it time about you guys. You guys figure it out.
You got yourself into this. Well, the NBA All Star
Game in Cleveland tonight, Team Lebron was a winner, and
at halftime they did unveil and boy, it was great
to see some of these guys, even if they weren't
physically there on the court, if they were taped elsewhere.

(01:03:25):
The seventy fifth anniversary team, which was selected by quote
a blue ribbon panel of media and current and former players,
coaches and general managers, and team executives. I got from
n b a pr a list of the voting panel
about seventy five voters. It includes people like Bob Costas
and Marv Albert, also pat Riley and Jerry West for voters.

(01:03:46):
Steve Kerr was one of the voters, Michael Jordan's Magic
Johnson Ernie Johnson was a voter, etcetera. And then we
had the game in Cleveland and Lebron James had the
game ending shot twenty four points, eight assists for him
one sixty three to one sixty the final. I had
saved this stat from the folks at Elias before the game.
They said the previous decade of NBA All Star Games

(01:04:08):
had produced over three thousand points total. If you broke
it down, it was three hundred twenty three points per game.
Tonight's All Star Game had exactly three hundred twenty three
points in the game. That is kind of stunning. So yes,
yet again, the All Star Game is literally more than
a hundred points higher than your typical regular season games.

(01:04:29):
Steph Curry the game m v P he scored fifty
Sons guard Chris Paul, who played a couple of minutes.
We'll miss at least six to eight weeks with a
broken hand he suffered this past week. The Daytona five
hundred was won by Austin Cindric Bubba Wallace a close second.
Cindric was considered the first rookie to win this because
Trevor Baine, who won over a decade ago, was not eligible,

(01:04:50):
apparently to run for Rookie of the Year anyway, It
was a sellout at Daytona, about a hundred twenty thousand fans.
According to AP, Cindric, in his eighth Cup Series start,
takes it. He made the Daytona five debut in last
year's race. Here he wins today. That can't get over this.
He'll be in this year's playoffs already. He knows that
he's starting his first full time season in the Cup Series.

(01:05:13):
US women Soccer beat New Zealand five nothing in l A.
This was for those who saw this. The Americans led
three nothing at halftime thanks to three own goals, all
three off the same defender during the first half, and yes,
they subbed her out before halftime won a game. Uh.
The US women have a sixty four game home unbeaten streak.

(01:05:38):
Let me say that again, fifty seven and oh with
seven ties in their last sixty four games on US soil.
That includes sixteen straight shutouts at home over the last
two years. Friday, they opened this mini tournament with the
zero zero game against Czech Republic. That counted as a shutout,
but when you tack on the five nothing today they've
outscored opponents during this home streak to third two to

(01:06:03):
college basketball on FS one. Tonight, seventeenth ranked USC hit
the last second jupper to beat Washington State sixty two
to sixty. Or reminder, selection Sunday for March Madness is
only three weeks away. The n c A Tournament starts
with the so called first four games in mid March.
The final four will be in New Orleans this year.

(01:06:23):
In late March, the regional final sites will be Philadelphia, Chicago,
San Antonio, and San Francisco. Back to you, oh, bad
job by the blows the lead. Everybody wants to know
the big score? Yes, Ken State five, Mercy Hurst one.
In college hockey, Uh, Jay Span, you're the winner in
his senior year last game and they scored a going

(01:06:45):
forty one seconds left them because they had a double
penalty and all the five on three. I don't know
why you didn't give that scho while you're not leading
with that. It's probably the same people that are waiting
for the last segment of and whatever TV played for
next year to say, are you better be leading that
update with with that score every Are you gonna be

(01:07:08):
that dad? Yes, but now he's gonna try out for
like the professional minor league hockey teams out there, so
I'm curious to see if and where he'll play next year.
We have a sound effects alright, so I'm still digging.

(01:07:28):
I'm still digging. Um at three point killer on Twitter
found um it was either nine, three or four. The
East was slated to cover the game ended and TV
coverage had ended. The West went to the line after
TV for two free throws, hit both and apparently that

(01:07:53):
caused either the over to hit or the East to cover. Well,
but I thought it was Scotty Hippen who came out
and well he was in. Well again, there is only
some dude without a profile pick that has been tweeted
at me in in laying this out. But I mean,

(01:08:13):
I I don't. You're a radio veteran. I don't know
how you constantly come to this show with stories, but
yet don't remember when they happened or any of these nets.
The best type of story. I don't remember everything. I mean,
come on now, it's like his book of jokes that
has no punch lines. Arty was doing radio back in

(01:08:34):
the day when they had lock up cabinets, but records
weren't the things being locked up in the cabinets. I
hate you, Danny. We gotta find it, Barney. How much
hair did you have when this happened? Now someone is
saying they think it was nine How okay? How everybody's

(01:08:55):
just guessing? Now Um says I stopped it because I
believe it was the ninety one because my uncle had
the same story. Yeah, I yeah, I don't gosh, so
if you had the same story, okay, can can we listen?
If it was ninety one, two or ninety three right there,

(01:09:16):
it wouldn't have been ninety one. It wouldn't have been
I don't think so. As the game was very close,
they would have had him shot shoot foulest Scottie Pippen
wasn't on the All Star team in ninety one. Well,
maybe you're not remembering it right. I think it was Pippen.
I'm pretty in The final score was one sixteen to
one fourteen. Yeah, it wouldn't have been that wouldn't have

(01:09:36):
been that one. Here's here's I guess the point more
than what I'm trying to ask. How did you legally
bet on it? Were you? No? I I I go
into the sports book. Yeah, absolutely, I didn't know if
you had a Dude, I know you're from the streets
and you're all art New York, right, I know, I know,

(01:09:57):
I know, but I just wanted to make sure that
I didn't get you them where everybody else is from.
My promise you that. By the way, Thomas writes, I
remember the scorekeeper was the guy for the Pistons. Somebody
dig into this because my man republic Pete seventies six
on Twitter hits it on the head with what really

(01:10:19):
matters you? Right, let's talk some NFL. So, Arnie, before
we grabbed the final time out, you and I last
week did the Super Bowl show, so Cavino and Rich
slid in with the post game show. We weren't on
the air in our typical eleven eight to to a
slot on the East coast, um eight to what eleven

(01:10:40):
on the West coast. So anything from the Super Bowl
that you feel like we still need to kind of
hammer through our our our look back on that stood
out in the Rams winning the Super Bowl meeting the Bengals.
Um just that it was a fun game. Obviously we
were calling it so we said this at the time,
but um, it was. We only haded like a half
hour after the game ended, our forty. But it was

(01:11:00):
a fun game. Game show was longer than NBC's by
the way, that they were right to the Olympics. I'm
glad Matthew Stafford one. I was. I was pulling for him.
I guess the I'm glad the Rams one, um because
you know, obviously living in Los Angeles, I wanted to
see them do well. I'm not so sure that Cincinnati
is and Joe Burrow is going to make it back.

(01:11:22):
I actually heard Caveno and rich Um say they gave
a stat of quarterbacks that have lost their first Super Bowl,
like the last ten of them or so, um have
not made it back to the Super Bowl. So um
it was it was or if not one of Super Bowl,
So I was kind of curious about that, and if
it's you know how hard it's going to be. But

(01:11:43):
I thought it was a fun game every which way
around then and it came down to the end. So
I'm glad the Rams one and we'll see what happens
to the next year, see who's gonna retire and who's
gonna come on back. Would you put the Bengals as
one of the favorites in the a f C right
now to potentially return to the Super Bowl? Um, I
don't even know if they're the favorite to win their
own division next year. I agree, you know it's it's wild. No,

(01:12:06):
I would not put him as the favorite to return
to the Super It's a really good roster, right, I mean,
it really is. But I mean, if if the Bengals
had played the Bills and the Chiefs had played the Titans,
right with the Bengals have made it to the a
f C Championship, you can't go by that. But but

(01:12:28):
really you should apologize to me because I've been right
since day one and you made a mockery of me
for eleven years and I finally turned out to be
true when I said Um, you don't really need the
greatest of offensive lines to go to the super Bowl.
Look at the Kansas City Chiefs have lost to offensive
Do you just want to go or do you want
to win the sh Like if you couldn't go, you

(01:12:49):
could win, Chris, stop with the Bolowy and Sincinnati was
good enough to win. They lost the game, but not
because I mean, why did they lose the game because
they couldn't protect the quarterback on the last play. Aren't
you're good enough to get within what a minute of
winning a super Bowl? Yeah, maybe you're gonna want upgrade
that offensive line. Can you just contradicted yourself? But wait

(01:13:09):
a minute, Chris, If I told you you're gonna build
a team, the number one piece you're gonna say is
give me a great quarterback. The number two things you're
gonna say is give me that great wide receiver, handles
running back. Then you're gonna say, give me the defensive line.
Then give me the defense, give me the corners. Probably
the last thing you're gonna say is this, Okay, then
I'm gonna I need a great offense. You know what
you need to do a show at Jeff Schwartz and

(01:13:30):
I want you to throw this take in front of
a former NFL off to get you're not buddies to
get just absolutely flayed by him. Arnie. What what about
Joe Burrow two years ago when he got his leg broken?
What about him hobbling off the field? I mean, you
have to protect your quarterback, Aarney, you have to. You

(01:13:50):
have to protect your quarterback. But when the offense they
still got to the Super Bowl, though, Chris, you can't
take that away from them with the offensive line that
they have, So you got to get some I'll say.
I'll say it. That's the luckiest run of the Super
Bowl in the history of Super Bowl. Kansas lucky. Kansas
City did it with two of their offensive live and out. Also, yeah,
and nearly got Patrick Mahomes killed Cincinnati. I love you.

(01:14:17):
Zach Taylor is from my town. That's the luckiest run
in the history of the Super So do you think
Joe Burrow is gonna win the Dan Marino Award and
never make it back to the Super Zach Taylor will
be out of a job in three years. All right,
when we come back, let's dive into what we've missed.
It's already in Plank on Fox Sports Radio arny In

(01:14:43):
Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday, What is going on,
Steve de Segger, Well, Lebron James has been a captain
every year since the NBA went to this All Star
Game format where the leading vote getters draft the teams
instead of East versus West, which I love. Rons like

(01:15:03):
me and you. We'll make a TV show out of
that that'll get huge rating. Another good idea. So Lebron's
teams are now five and oh, which actually ties the
longest winning streak by any one team in NBA All
Star He talk about that stuff. The Eastern Conference won

(01:15:24):
five straight All Star Games in the eighties and Dr
J had I thought the record being on the winning
side five straight years four. It turns out the record
is Oscar Robertson was on the winning side in the
All Star Game six straight years in the nineteen sixties.
I think, well, how is that possible if the team
record is five years in a row. It took some research,

(01:15:45):
you know, because he played for the same team all
through the nineteen sixties, the old Cincinnati Royals. It turned
out when he joined the club they were a Western
Conference team, and then during his time there they switched
to being an Eastern Conference team, kind of like how
the Atlanta Bres were somehow an n L West team
for years and now they're finally an n L East team.
Similar things. So Steph Curry knew as he was miked

(01:16:07):
up on the bench what the record was points for
an individual at an NBA All Star Game fifty two
Anthony Davis when he was m v P five years ago.
Curry got up to fifty points and just kept shooting
and and stayed at fifty points. He was game m
v P, but does not have the record. A d
still does. The record score was Will Chamberlain for many decades.

(01:16:29):
He had scored forty two in nineteen sixty two, but
now here in recent years. I mean, Paul George has
scored forty one, Russell Westbrook twice has scored forty one
and an All Star Game. Janice had a thirty eights,
Kevin Durant thirty eight, Blake Griffin had thirty eight and
an All Star Game. Geez, I can So I'm not
sure about that. But with all the scoring we're getting

(01:16:50):
in the All Star Game recently, um, it's kind of
like nb NFL passing yard. Did you just really can't
compare the two errors, because do we have to say
this that loud. You know, Joe Flacco or whoever that
passed Ryan Fitzpatrick, that passed Troyman, it doesn't mean he's
better than Troy. I don't know why we just can't
go back to the East first West. I don't know

(01:17:11):
why that doesn't be such an issue. But what I
kind of like this, I mean, well, what about the
part where nobody drafted James Harden. Now granted he was
technically injured, but he was last overall. You know, I
would rather see the NBA players play horse. I saw
an old video of Pete Maravich playing Bob McAdoo and horse.
They used to do it at the halftime of the games,

(01:17:32):
and Bob McAdoo was beside himself. He could not he
could not keep up. Mervitch was like putting it behind
his back, through his legs, through a layups and back
and who just couldn't do it. Was awesome. I wish
we had something like that. Bring that back. They do
have to do something like that for the All Star Saturday, because,
as we saw last night, the dunk, which is your
finale to the evening after all, is sometimes a bomb

(01:17:55):
and last night it was. And What's what one writer
and mean pointed out last night is why do we
always have to have the slam dunk last? It gets
the players? I would say that aren't the biggest Markegos
three point does. And also sometimes the three point contest
is a little more reliable for some excite absolutely what

(01:18:17):
your reference. There are videos out there when CBS had
the regular Sunday afternoon NBA game, they had pre taped
a one on one tournament of current NBA players against
each other and they would show whatever the next game
was in the tournament last time. Yeah, exactly, and I
would love to see that with current players. That would

(01:18:37):
be great. By the way, Team Durant had drafted Joel
and be number one for this game. He winds up
scoring thirty six points. Team Lebron's top two picks where
Janie Autenant Coompo who scored thirty and Steph Curry, who
was the game m v P. And among Lebron's reserves
was Chris Paul who wound up with the hand injury
a few days ago and had the m r I
and the team said nothing about it and then the

(01:18:59):
announcement from t NTL GM. You're talking about Jeff Petrie
still orright. Chris Paul will miss at least six to
eight weeks with a broken hand. For those who didn't
hear well the two other things, Anthony Davis with a
sprain foot will miss at least four weeks. James Harden
will debut Friday with Philadelphia, but Mono Jenobli is a

(01:19:20):
finalist for the Hall of Fame. The list of eleven
was announced Friday. We'll find out the class of two.
It will be announced at the Final four. Referee Hugh
Evans is up for the Hall again. There are four
coach finalists, including George Carl Marcus Johnson is up for
the Hall, Swin Cash, Michael Cooper and others. To get
into the Nay Smith Hall of Fame, a finalist needs
eighteen of twenty four votes from the Honors Committee, and

(01:19:44):
once they announced who's in at the Final four, the
actual enshrinement of the class is in September. As for
daytona five hundred, Bubba Wallace finished I say a close second.
He was about three feet behind. That's how much after
five hundred miles that he missed. Ap pointed out that
there's a Hall of Fame driver David Pearson who needed

(01:20:04):
fifteen tries to finally win a Daytona five hundred. Kurt
Busch needed sixteen the legend Dale Earnhardt wanted on his
twentieth try. There are guys who are offers, including today,
that are still offers in their career. Ricky Stanhouse was
closed today and in the rec late he's over eleven
Daytona five hundred. Brad Keslowski's over thirteen the age list,

(01:20:26):
Greg Biffel is over fifteen, David Reagan over sixteen. Kyle
Busch o for seventeen in this race. He finished sixth place.
Martin truex Jr. Is now oh for eighteen, NASCAR's longest
active skid. There when we come back, great stuff to Seger.
Mystery solved, Arnie, we have clarification of the years and

(01:20:48):
the game controversy hit me over in the All Star
Game next, Arnie. We got a lot to get to
this hour and a lot of n B A a
lot of NBA including is Lebron James and Clutch Sports
angry with the job they've done as general manager of

(01:21:11):
the Lakers, will dive into it. I always by the way.
I mean, I just I can't help but laugh. Oh gosh,
we're so mad that the Lakers didn't do anything. You
kind of are responsible for everything that's going on in
l A right now, Lebron and Clutch sports. I mean,
I would have trade Russell Westbrook either. I mean, with

(01:21:33):
all the injuries they had, I just hope Anthony Davis
gets healthy and I see what my big Big three
could do in the playoffs. Move on from there, Listen.
I mean the problem is the number of games that
they've actually played together. I mean, listen, I'm sure someone's
gonna crush It's gotta be in like single digits. It
has to be with Lebron, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook

(01:21:56):
all in the lineup. They cannot have had to play
more than Listen, I say single digits, but it's gotta
be less than like fifteen times all three have been
in the lineup together. And the way people rip it
on Russell it's just absolutely insane. Um. I mean, look,
you win as a team, you loses his team, and
you think all the you know, blame is to be
on Russell Westbrook is ridiculous. To be honest, with that.

(01:22:18):
Can't believe. I don't know how that narrative started, but
it's absolutely insane. We've got a lot of really good
tweets to get to on the show tonight. A lot
of people mad at me, but that's fine. I can
I can take your bullets. But welcome into the show tonight.
He started somebody bad at me today. I don't know
if you saw the very first tweet we got before
we came on the show today. Did you see that? One? Know? What? What?

(01:22:39):
What did you get in trouble for? I didn't was
this shirt take that Jimmy Garoppolo would get multiple first
round picks from yesterday? No? No, well no, I I
said that. Yeah, well you don't believe he would get
Well we get to that later on. Oh you know,
supply and the man. I was talking about that with Willard.
One guy was upset because he said I ruined the
Super Bowl for him by giving out what was happening,

(01:22:59):
be for it happened. But I'm like, you're full of crap, buddy,
because um, if you were watching it at home, there
was no way I was, you know, giving out what
was happening before you saw it. It was just routing
it for Plank and Bobbo and the guys, not for
you at home or anything like that. You know, but
that's part of the problem. You're you're ruining it for us,
but not for the listen. Yeah, but not for the listen,

(01:23:21):
not even in the car. No, not for the listener
or even if they were listening to us or something,
so like if someone is listening in the car. I
love you, Arnie, you know this. We've done the show
together for a long time. But your incessant need when
we found out that you can't pause your TV, but
you refuse to do it to sync up show something.
I don't know what it is, Bubbo, I don't know

(01:23:41):
what it's like, Matthew Stafford, is that what I am? Actually? Yeah, yeah, absolutely,
that's It's narcissistic. It's something I don't know what. It
doesn't make any sense, like and he thinks it's funny,
like and it's the only person he amuses himsel himself, Arnie,
like that oh God that sits on a porch at
every time a kid rides down. It's like, don't step

(01:24:02):
on my sidewalk, like he when he bought the house.
The sidewalk in the purchase, like, but see here. And
here's the thing that is frustrating because even in a
moment I was thinking about this, uh when I saw
that tweet, and that was a great tweet, maybe the
best tweet of the show tonight. Um, even in a

(01:24:23):
moment where Bobo was very specific and said, hey, play
the game, don't ruin it. And we're watching it and
literally you couldn't help yourself. You're like, well, it's a touchdown.
It's like, but what good does that do? I think
I think I enjoyed it. That's got you, guys upset.
But I've been doing it all year now. You want

(01:24:45):
me to stop for the super Bowl? No, we've wanted
We've been literally you I was Sam lead, He's like,
already do this, do this and this, and you post
your TV and sinked it up but said, no, I'm
not doing I'm not doing that. I gotta be out
of everything. Didn't like it though, didn't like that. Didn't
know because you just enjoy busting someone's bubble. Literally, that

(01:25:08):
would be like if somebody did, Like if you're you
and you don't let me talk, okay, that would be
like if you and your wife had a reveal party,
and before she popped a balloon, You're like, we're gonna
name me Martie Jr. And like, okay, and then why
do we come I'm gonna be fifty nine. I hope

(01:25:28):
there's not gonna be any revealed parties for me. I
hope it is just a bubble. Hope when you wake
up tomorrow morning, your wife goes, Babe, guess what remember
that time you check that blue bill? What are you like?
Whate so you're fifty fifty four? How to go to
kindergarten and retweet that? Uh? Yeah, time rights. I'm disappointed

(01:25:53):
in you, Aretie. You were ruining the Super Bowl play
by play last week. I might sit this week's show out.
Not cool, bro. I hope he didn't. I hope you listen.
We found the answer to your very detailed explanation about
that one time whenever you got burned by the I

(01:26:15):
gave you enough clues so you should have been able
to figure it out. I mean, well, here here you go.
I couldn't figure it out. Um on Twitter at out
coach Donnie when diggan and listen, there is nothing on
Wikipedia about this. There is nothing on so nothing. If

(01:26:36):
if you read so go back. It was. It was
the All Star Game in Salt Lake City. The NBC
broadcast of the All Star Game went off the air
with the final score the West beating the East one five,
one thirty. John Stockton, Karl Malone co m VPS. Good

(01:26:58):
night everybody. But if you look at the score, it's
one thirty five two And what had happened is Scottie
Pippen was foul on the last play they're doing because
it was in Utah, and Malone won the m v
P and Stockton won the m v PS. So they're
doing their tribute and as everyone's walking off the court,

(01:27:19):
you can see one of the officials go to the
scores table and the broadcast cuts off. So kudos to
at out coach Donnie on Twitter for finding it. Artie
from here to four when you tell us this story
again next year. The All Star Break three went off

(01:27:40):
the year at one thirty five to one thirty. Final
score of the game one thirty five. That is amazing.
So the over under must have been, like you said,
one thirty five, um one thirty three, So it jumped
over on those two points. Rubert wasn't They had to
bring Pipping out of the locker room to go ahead shots.

(01:28:00):
You could see that they they called the um, they
called the foul. You could see the refs call the foul.
But everyone just basically leaves and they they they stroll
off the court. So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if
they because they go off the air. It's like goodbye, everybody.

(01:28:22):
So there you go? Are you so? To sixties six
must have been the Aora went from two sixty five
to two sixties seven. That's amazing. And there's nowhere on
Wikipedia and then the articles or or anything like that.
I thought maybe I was just making it up in
my dreams or something like that. And what Scottie Pippen
do you look at you? So you look at me?
No other information year side game, But you knew that's

(01:28:48):
all I knew. I won the bets. It was big
for me, that's all I know. Where did you find
your ticket? By the way, It was in my own
trash kid in my apartment. Yeah, I was. I was
watching the game at home, so I just threw my
own I just crumpled up the ticket and threw it
in my trash can. There were two tickets and I
pulled them out the next morning, um, and went to
cash and you could see that there was They were

(01:29:11):
getting the trash cans and putting them in the paper
stritters over this thing. Look at you congratulations? Are you
I finally got something right? Well yeah, I mean it
took three hours to get there, but um, well done.
So Eric Pinks was on with this. I just want
to say, nature boy wants to say, uh to Baba
Arnie's wife, congratstinkling genius. I'm gonna have sex tublets, so

(01:29:32):
that would be fantastic. Arendy gets six kids out of nowhere.
And how sweet your great grandfather came to pick you
up from that's my dad. Sorry, he's he's a little older.
I was in oops. Um. Eric Pinkas was on with
us earlier and we went in depth on this story.
But it's uh, it's starting to make the rounds as

(01:29:55):
the night progresses, and Eric talked about it. We got
some perspect dive on it. But here is the gist
of it. To talk some NBA kick to kick off
our number three quote. According to multiple NBA sources, Clutch
is not happy with Rob p Linka. The cinnament has
long percolated, which is a great word, but it reached

(01:30:16):
a boil when Polinka refused to trade Russell Westbrook and
a future first round pick for Houston Rockets guard and
clutch client John Wall. Arnie, do you think, first of all,
let's let's take one, is John wall a better fit
for the Lakers than wrestle Westbrook? First of all, I

(01:30:37):
want to know. I don't think so too. It's not
like I thought they'd be mortgaging the future. But I
don't like them calling the shots just because there are
a client, or he's a client of their agency and
that's why they want to go and get him on
the Lakers. Are they really were doing what's best for
the Los Angeles Lakers or they doing what's really best
for their agency. I I don't like the conflict of
interest here. I think the whole thing really does think

(01:31:00):
um And by the way, as you mentioned, they've played
so many little games to get with the big three.
I wouldn't be making any moves. Yeah, I wouldn't be
making any moves right now. I just need the whole
situation just thinks right now. Well, and it's tough. By
the way, kudos to my man at Gunner twenty five
Tea Wolf on Twitter Gunna Thomas fifteen games they've played
together this season. Now you can decide if that's an

(01:31:24):
indictment on the age of the roster or the inability
of anyone to stay healthy. But fifteen games whenever, what
fifty eight fifty nine haven't played so far this season?
I mean, how can you generate any rhythm? How can
you generate any chemistry? I mean it's just it's impossible.

(01:31:45):
So to basically say, hey, let's blow it up, let's
go get John Wall I don't get it, Arnie. It
doesn't make any sense. You just say, how can you
get any chemistry? How many games do you need for chemistry?
And I'll bring this well, I'll bring this up. Chris
Paul is gonna miss how many months, six weeks, eight weeks,
or you know, is it gonna be. Are you gonna say, well,
how they're gonna have any chemistry when when he comes back?

(01:32:07):
I mean, sometimes you can use a break. I'm not
saying it's good that you have an injury. You certainly
don't want that hanging into your head, but uh, you know,
maybe it's affected the nets more. We'll see how they
can pick it up in such a short time with Simmons,
I'm curious to see how that how that plays out.
By the way, kudos to not only Gunner Thomas, but
At the Weed Smoker five, which again I would love

(01:32:27):
to be in on that job interview whenever he sits
down there, like, hey, so, um, what's your social media
account the Marijuana Smoke at at at the Lead Smoker five.
But no, it's it's just it's tough, and I am
I'm I'm not like overly throwing things, but it's just

(01:32:47):
it's very confusing how you can give someone everything they
appear to one and when it doesn't work, suddenly it's
someone else's fault. And that's where I feel we are
right now with the Lakers, aren't He's not going well.
I mean, you're battling with the team that is tanking
essentially in the Portland's Trailblazers uh and a team that

(01:33:10):
has also battled injuries and the Clippers for the final
spots in the play in tournament. I mean, it's not
going well, but still, I mean it's it's also one
of those teams that you can't help, but wonder can
they get things right? I mean, they're not gonna end
up the top seed. They're not gonna end up the
three seed or the four seed, or the five or

(01:33:32):
maybe the sixth seed. But if they get in there
is dangerous as anyone, right, I would think that. Well,
you said, as long as they're healthy. But you know,
I brought this up with Willard and he goes, oh
and that cut. You still think the Lakers have a
chance of winning this thing. I'm like, yeah, when they're
Big three is around. The only problem is it's so
tough in the Western Conference. UM. Though, again, Memphis is good,

(01:33:55):
but they're young. I I think the Lakers could give
them a good run for their money. Same thing with Utah.
I think the only teams you have to really worry
about our Phoenix and Golden State UM are the two
top teams in the West. There. But by the way,
it didn't take long for the arrogance of Golden State
Warrior fan to come back, did it. No? And you know,
when Lebron leaves the Lakers, or if he ever does

(01:34:16):
leave the Lakers, I wonder if the Warriors are gonna
pass the Lakers in popularity, become the new West Coast
team or the new darlings of the NBA with Clay
and then Steph being out. Do you know what's funny
is it's and Clay by the way, Steph, it's it's
wild because with the way that his game is kind

(01:34:36):
of trending or has always been. I mean, it's not
like he gets physical right, so he could probably play forever.
It seems like he's not going anywhere. Clay Thompson not
an overly physical guy, so he's gonna if he can
stay healthy, played for a while. Yeah, I think that
will be a fascinating debate to have for years to come.
But I gotta tell you something, Arnie, it is it

(01:34:58):
is funny. And I keep going back to this, give
someone what they wanted. They wanted Russ, they wanted you
to go get Anthony Davis. They didn't want to play
with young players, they didn't want to play with he
I should say Lebron didn't want to play with Ingraham
or Josh Hard or Kyle kuzma Um and even a
clutch guy in k c P. And you move on

(01:35:19):
from them, and now you're not happy with what you have.
I just I don't get it. I don't understand on
somebody else, someone else's fault. It's putting the blame on
somebody else. And like you said, I don't even know
how you can assess something. You're gonna think John Wall
is gonna make a difference if he comes here and
the Lebron's not on the court, or Anthony Davids is
not on the court, He's not gonna be able to

(01:35:40):
do it by himself. That's why I don't understand all
this hatred going on. It's just one of those years
for the Lakers. Now, Um, do you know the last
time John Wall playing in an NBA game was Kareema's teammate.
I don't was west on self this teammate, I don't
know he He hasn't played aid in a game since

(01:36:02):
the end of what last year, and he's played um
seventy games are more, just once since two thousand and seventeen.
I mean, it's where where do we get this elevating
a dude like that above us. I just don't get
I don't get it. All right, I know it's it's

(01:36:25):
been a while, it's been a minute, all right. When
we come back, when we come back, let's hit your tweets.
They've been great. Tonight we'll play a little buyer sell
and what you all came for. Artie's Fix right around
the corner on Fox Sports Radio. Artie and Plank on
a Fox Football Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. You know

(01:36:47):
we should do a segment called true or false because
as some stories out there, I still don't even know
if they're true or false. I'm down for it. Let's go.
I'll give you the first. I'll give you the first one.
Is that my home story true or fall? Which one?
The one where he told his his fiance and his
brother that they can't come to games next year? Yeah?
I think that's false. But I'll tell you what because

(01:37:09):
a lot of people were running with that one over
far be it from the internet to fact check. I
don't know what's going on. It's really turned Um, I
think that's false. I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to.
But how about this one true or false? Arnie? The
Patrick Mahomes story about a schism between he and Eric

(01:37:31):
b Enemy is true? You buying that one? Yes? I
am buying that one. I did hour on that show
last on the show last night talking about that story.
I'm gonna I'm gonna say true to that one. Also
because obviously, um, the offense at one point was not
clicking on all cylinders, and then it did have a
great run over like eight games and they look like

(01:37:51):
their old self again. So um, I don't know who
won that that argument which way they should go, But yeah,
I believe that one. Okay, I've got a I've got
a couple of more for you. I thought it was
just the one about mahomes Is fiance. I know you
don't believe this, but in addition to your notebook preparation,

(01:38:12):
a notebook preparation for every single sime I know it's surprising,
and I put together every Sunday night. You know you
you want to say true or false, But for the
better part of I don't know that ten years, whatever
it is, we've done this show. We've had a segment
called buy or sell, which is kind of similar to
true or false. So here's a true or false for you. Uh,

(01:38:34):
John Wall and his non playing ability. He's not healthy,
he's not gonna play. True or false John Wall is
a better option for the Lakers than Russell Westbrook. No, No,
that's west savaging eighteen of games seven or rebounds, have
enough rebound, seven assists, um ridiculous to think that that's
a better fit. I don't understand what's going on there.

(01:38:56):
I've I've never understood that. I've never understood that, and
everyone is just we were talking about it during the break,
I mean breaking down the fourth wall here. I I
get it. Russ can't shoot. I don't know why he
can continues to do it. Drive to the basket, be
a distributor. It's the follow through. Gotta follow with that risk.

(01:39:16):
Watch Steph Gurry gets that risk going there. Did I
tell you about my sophomore basketball coach the year I quit?
He came to me and said, son, there's people who
are born good shooters and people that are not. You're
not And that was the end of my basketball curer
and I come to the team. But no, in all seriousness,

(01:39:37):
I just I get the dissatisfaction with what's going on
with the Lakers. It makes sense they shouldn't be this bad.
But man, to think that a dude that's not healthy
is a better option than Lebron James is hilarious. By
the way, do you think that if Dr Buss was
still alive and running the Lakers and owning the Lakers,
that Lebron would be calling the shots like this, the

(01:39:57):
answer to be, hell no, I I gotta tell you
hell no, and I got I got one more? All right?
You ready before you got before you go that far.
At that same statement, when Dr Buss was still alive,
there's no way rober Lincoln would have been the GM. Yeah,
you're right about that. This wouldn't have been right on
that one. Also, there's no way Jerry West would have
ever left the building. Yeah, amen to that too. Jeez,

(01:40:21):
I am so excited for that HBO Max Showtime story. Though.
I will say I feel like I know most of
the Lakers stories right, No, haven't we all kind of
known how fun and crazy it was fun and quotations
for the Lakers when Jerry Buss bought the team. It's what,
by the way, thing, I can give you another rumor
you you could do true and false in this when

(01:40:42):
when I was in high school, the rumor was come
back to you, well the rule because you know I
went to high school with Jennie Bussy. You might not
know that that Jerry was trying to buy the Indiana Pacer.
He was and didn't have enough money. Their all other
owners were concerned that Jerry Buzz didn't have enough money to,
you know, be the owner of the Lakers, and Donald

(01:41:04):
Sterling was the rumor that had to step up and
guarantee funds and said, hey, I guarantee the money for
this guy. The other owners went, okay, if you guarantee
of Donald, then we're good to go. There's no problem there.
You breaking that out as a rumor is like me saying,
did you hear the rumor that Juwan Howard slapped with
I mean, that's like one of the most known things

(01:41:26):
ever already said Donald Sterling helped Jerry bust by the Lakers. Bye,
what you're saying, all right, let me give you one
more because I keep trying to get us to football
and you steer us away, all right? True or false?
Aaron Rodgers speech last Saturday was a farewell to the
Packers and not a reaffirmation that he's coming back. No. Well,

(01:41:49):
and if you're talking directorly about the speech, I can
understand that. But no, he's coming back because they hired
that quarterback coach um and so everything's gonna be all
fine and dandy. So no, he's he's coming back. There's
he's not gonna go anywhere. I I used to think
he was going Chris, you know me, I had him
going out of town. But once they hired that quarterback coach,
you can't go anywhere, now, can you. I don't know.

(01:42:10):
I don't know. That's a great question, because I've been
on team from the first day that these rumors started
with Aaron Rodgers. I've been on team. He's not going anywhere.
I just I've always believed and listen, no offense, Denver.
But you don't have a better roster than green Bay, period.

(01:42:31):
What's that? Not really the point though? Don't you want
to win? Yeah, you want to win, but you're thinking
you have so much ego that you're gonna win you
going there, and plus you want to get out of
Green Bay so bad. But I don't think that's the
case now. But go ahead. I'm sorry. You don't think
he looks at the roster and doesn't realize he's got
better talent in Green Bay than Denver. Less he thinks
it's maybe an easier road if he goes there. I

(01:42:52):
doubt that, though it's not an easier road now. Anyway,
I thought, whatever I watched that speech last week, I
was so confident that Aaron Rodgers had reaffirmed that he
is staying with the Packers, and then everyone else, people
that people that I dig and that I listened to
are laying up. No, no, no, that was a farewell speech.

(01:43:14):
He was saying goodbye, and like I can see that.
I can see it as a farewell. If I was
just gonna pick one side of the other, I would
have said, yeah, it's his farewell speech. But I don't
think he's leaving. But yet, if you're going strictly on
the speech, I can see where they were thinking that.
And this is that reminder that we have to give NonStop.
He's not going to be given away. He's not a
free agent. You're going to have to trade multiple first

(01:43:37):
round picks to get Aaron Rodgers. There you go, all right, listen,
we got tweets I said. I said that they were
gonna get to to draft picks for Jimmy G through
first round picks. Why would you want your team to
give up two first round picks to get Jimmy G. No,
But that doesn't mean if I didn't have picks like
at the bottom of the first round, I wouldn't think
Like if I was Pittsburgh or something like that. Pittsburgh

(01:44:00):
is not at the bottom of the first round there
in the middle of the first round. If I had
to like picks number, I'm just I'd think about doing that. Okay, Well,
I just I don't think he's gonna get multiple first
round picks. And if you trade multiple first round picks
as a GM for Jimmy Garoppolo, you should be fired.
All right when we come back, let's dive into your tweets.

(01:44:23):
But first, one final time tonight, Steve Disaga, with everything
going on in the world of sports, what's up, Steve,
did you just say Lebron James is trading two first
round picks for Jimmy Garoplo. I believe that's shot shot.
By the way, I watched the end of that All
Star game you were talking about from NBA, and I

(01:44:45):
understand exactly what happened. NBC had the telecast with dick
Enberg announcing, I'll play you the final seconds because the
East is gonna lose anyway. They miss the shot, but
the ball goes out abound, so they just gotta inbound it. Fine,
throw one up. You're gonna lose anyway. You're down five,
but you can hear the referee, the veteran Jack Madden,
call a foul. You can hear the whistle right before

(01:45:06):
the final horns moments ago. That's the kind of the
most Star games. So there was a foul prior. It
was a correct call. And then they put up the graphic. Hey,
it's Utah and Carmelone and John Stockton or your co
m v ps. Everybody starts walking off. They start setting
up the table at the mid court to give out

(01:45:27):
the trophies and everything. And the thing is, NBC goes
straight off the air, no postgame interview, nothing. They just
say Wayne's World is next, and they put up the
score that they win by five. And then actually what
you mentioned, the East was given two free throws, so
the final score was actually one two in overtime. The

(01:45:51):
West takes it a reminder. On Monday, there is for
baseball and in person negotiations starting. Baseball's first week of
exhibition games was canceled Friday. The lockout started in early December.
No spring training did not start on time. The Winter
Olympics closing ceremony was this morning our time. Norway won

(01:46:12):
the most medals this time and the most gold sixteen
In college hoops. You might have heard Wisconsin. Michigan played
today over Into. Coach Juan Howard threw a punch at
a Wisconsin assisted in the post game handshake line. Fifteenth
rank Badgers beat the Wolverine seventy seven sixty three. Fifth
rank per Due over Rutgers, eighth rank Providence one in

(01:46:34):
overtime at Butler. Fourteenth ranked Houston won in double overtime
at Whichita State, and the game on FS one tonight
at seventeenth ranked usc went down to the final second.
Trojans hit the last second jumper to win sixty two
sixty over Washington State, NHL Carolina and Columbus with wins
that Columbus, it was seven three over Buffalo and Minnesota

(01:46:55):
seven three at Edmonton. Arizona even won a game beat
Dallas three one. US women's soccer will be in Dallas
for their next game in this She Believes Cup tournament.
It's US Iceland Wednesday. There today in l a u
S women's soccer five nothing over New Zealand. Still can't
get over the fact that the opponents not just allowed
three owned goals in the first half, which is literally

(01:47:16):
never happened in a US women's soccer game. Ever, all
three went off the same defender and she got subbed
out before halftime. The Daytona five hundred was won by
Austin Cyndric Bubba Wallace was a close second. NBA All
Star Game was in Cleveland. Steph Curry fifty points. He
was game m v P. Team Lebron wins one sixty
three to one sixty over Team Durant. Kevin Durant was

(01:47:39):
not there after a death in the family. Donovan mitchelly
Utah did not play due to illness. Son's guard Chris
Paul will miss the next six to eight weeks at
least with a broken hand he suffered this past week.
In the win tonight, by the way, it was Lebron
James who had the game ending shot. I guess you
can call it the game winning shot, but it it
got them to the one sixty three score in the
elim ending tonight. The game ending shot gives him twenty

(01:48:00):
four points as well as eight assists in victory and yes,
Team Lebron now five and oh under this format. Janice
Auntennant compo thirty points for the losing side. Joel and
Beat thirty six points. Trey Young had tennessis and Chris
Middleton was one of eight shooting from the floor and
finally on the p g A Tour at l A
Joaukein Neiman won by two strokes. First prize in this

(01:48:23):
tournament was over two million dollars. This guy was the
first wire to wire winner at the l A tournaments
in over fifty years. And this was the best fielding
golf so far this year. It included everyone in the
top ten. Colin Morikawa tied for second at a final
round sixty five, but he missed a ten footer on
the eighteenth hole trying to win, which would have gotten

(01:48:44):
to number one in the world. Instead, he has to
settle for a tie for second. Each of those two
guys got one million dollars. If you tied for thirteen place,
you got about a quarter million dollars each at Yeah wow,
this deserves this deserves back to you. Thanks Steve. Have

(01:49:07):
a great week, Fundy. We'll see you next Sunday night.
All right, um, Arnie, let's hit some tweets, shall we?
In order of the longest wait at Stinking Genius one
at Plank Show and everybody should be following us at
Fox Sports Radio. Mr nobody writes college basketball doesn't have colorful,
colorful characters anymore. Billy Tubbs, oh you and Billy Ball,

(01:49:31):
the Fab five at Michigan, Duke was hateable you and
LV was fun under Tarkanian. Georgetown was good and interesting.
Who's the interesting team and coach? Now, gosh, gosh, who's
you tell me? You go first? Who's the team and going? Well?
Your Arizona Wildcats are pretty fun to watch, But I'm

(01:49:53):
coaching them this season. I could coach them and they
could have a record like that? Are they that good
from some of the individuals you see out there? With
the transfers they brought in? I mean, coach Ka's retiring,
But I mean again, I don't feel like it's been
this major storyline that's drawing people to watch. No, there's
That's why there's an identity problem right now? Can I

(01:50:16):
post one more thing too? For college basketball? You don't? Okay,
So to three years ago, we were on Zion Watch, remember,
and everybody would watch for Zion three years or four
years or whatever. It was Trey Young and Trey Young
early in the season. Everyone wanted to see what Trey
Young was doing. But I just I don't feel like

(01:50:39):
that we've had individuals, Arnie that have brought us to
the game. There's great stories with teams U C. L A.
There's no individual that's really drawn you. Right now. It's
gonna have to be. We have to go on the
upsets this year and and and see what happens um
when the tournament starts. For your right, nobody, no big
names out there that we're die in the sea that
we have to tune into for all you hard peeps

(01:51:02):
out there that stand back and like everybody touch touches me,
puts a hand on me. I think Paul brings up
a great point on the John Howard situation. If you're
a player on Michigan, how can you take anything John
Howard says seriously when he tries to punish you for
not acting professional period. I I I'm surprised of all

(01:51:26):
the people that said that Juwanna Howard was in his
right because the coach put his hand on his arm
or something like that. I I thought that was absolutely crazy.
You gotta have some sportsmanship. I mean, Michigan's s I
D and athletic director and all that immediately put out
a an apology and they knew that this whole thing
was terrible. By the way, what do you think the

(01:51:47):
suspension is gonna be? Do you have a prediction on
that or what the rest of the season? Wow? Yeah,
I think so. I mean, you gotta you. And I
don't think the big tin should do it. I think
Michigan should do it. I don't think you put it
on the conference. I think you tell John Howard listen,
that's unacceptable. And for every tough guy out through this,
like you put your hands on me, I'm gonna Okay, great,

(01:52:09):
you can do that, but you're probably gonna get fired,
you know, especially if you're in a leadership position like that.
And I know he's mad. This season hasn't gone well
for Michigan, but you gotta you've got to be calmer
and cooler when you're a leader of a man in
that kind of situation. Did the Wisconsin coach grab him
by his face or push him around? No, you're Juwan Howard.

(01:52:34):
Stop it. We know you can knock him out if
you wanted to. Um pete rights. Yesterday, Artie, you said
Jimmy g will command multiple first round picks. Excuse me,
I believe I speak for the crew and saying Artie,
you're fired, Bobo, and Plank has an ice ring to it. Yeah,
First of all, you have to understand man and what

(01:52:55):
brought this up to supply and demand for quarterbacks out there,
You're going to have to over Hey, the fact that
they got him for a second round picks a joke.
He's gonna be worth a lot more than that. I mean,
when would you want to pay When you hear rumors
like Deshaun Watson and they want three first round picks,
you gotta be insane um for something like that. I
anyone giving it to you right now? No, but that's

(01:53:16):
not because there maybe not because of the asking price,
though Chris, maybe because of the illegal issues there. If
there was no legal legal issues, there's no doubt in
my mind, he would have been traded by now, don't
you think or what? Oh, he would have been traded.
I don't think you're getting three first dross Well, it
seems like that's what they're asking. But I agree with
you that you would not getting three first round I
just I think when you talk about multiple first round picks,

(01:53:40):
first of all, you gotta be good at drafting, which
a lot of teams aren't. Your GM hit rate for
success is what something. Actually, it's lower than that, it's
like fifteen percent, So okay. And then number two, I
guess the most important thing. That's a lot to give up.
I mean, no one really truly grasps that. Look what

(01:54:01):
it's done for the Bears. They gave up multiple first
round picks to the Raiders. For clil Mac, Has it
made that big of a difference for him? Was it
worth it? I don't think so. And by the way,
the Raiders sucked at drafting during that two more quick ones,
um Alan writes Pippin needs to be clowned for not
showing up to the seventy five All Star celebration fear

(01:54:24):
of seeing Jordan's after Pippin lost his mind by attacking
Jordan's since the last Dance doc that will be on
every show at some point this week. Pippin looks bad. Yeah,
it's it's certainly not a good look. Is that? What
do we have an official statement on that's why it
wasn't coming, or that's what we're just all assuming on that,
you know, I think it's an assumption right now. I mean,

(01:54:47):
if listen, I think you put things in the rear
view whenever you realize that you're considered one of the
seventy five greatest players in NBA history. Needs a great story.
Look where he came from. Where played at school? Um,
you know, small school. I think he's a great story,
you know. And here's the story that says um, let

(01:55:10):
me make sure here's the headline story for Scottie Pippen
this weekend. Former basketball great Scottie Pippen, who used to
be married to real housewife star Larsa Pick Pippen rear
ends an suv while leaving a strip mall in l A.
Congrat Scottie Pippen not going to the All Star Game
to celebrate being one of the greatest players of all time.

(01:55:32):
You're hitting cars in a mall parking lot. Uh. And
let's see he was the one more quick one. I
wanted to get to one more quick one before we
wrap up the tweets. Uh, nature boy rights. I think
a great new rule for the NBA would be to
allow the home team to decide if they want to
do the game without three point shots. Force the competition
to play the inside game again. Oh my gosh, that's

(01:55:55):
like in baseball when you're if you got the home
run fence further in or back or something like that.
For for your hitner, not for your hits, but the
way you build your dimensions out there. If you're gonna
cut the infield grass where the ball stays, fare rolls, foul,
stuff like that. All right, when we come back, It's
what you all came for. Bartie's pixels on Fox Sports
Radio Fun Show tonight. Great job, Bubbo, Great job, Bubbo,

(01:56:21):
great job. Appreciate the appearance by Eric Pinks tonight, his
story going viral about the frustration from Clutch Sports as
it pertains to the non action from the Lakers front
office and the Segar crushing it on updates, and the

(01:56:41):
millions and millions of editors behind the scenes, Big Mike
making sure we have all the audio we need for
tonight show. Well, Arnie, before we get to a couple
of notes here on the NFL, let's give the people
what they came for tonight. It's time for the stinking
genius to make his picks. What the hell am I

(01:57:03):
gonna pick? Let's get going. Uh, we start with Major
League Baseball and what's happening there. Everybody that thinks they'll
they'll they'll still start the season on time. I'm here
to tell you know the season won't start on time.
New Opening Day for Major League Baseball May one May,
the whole month of April, the whole month of April.

(01:57:25):
You better get used to it. You watch NBA playoffs,
so playoffs, so get ready for that. Juwan Howard with
five games left in the regular season, if I'm correct,
before they play in the conference playoffs and then they
got the if they make the n C double a um,
he will get a two games suspension, two games suspension

(01:57:48):
for his little antics on the sideline there, So we'll
see what happens, um plike. Are you going out to
California next week? Yes? I am, wow, because at Oklahoma
you're Oklahoma Sooners playing my Arizona Wildcats or in softball,
you guys are like what tenan know? Tenan know six

(01:58:12):
straight run rule wins. Well, I don't think Arizona is
gonna run rule you. If you're worried about that, yeah,
I'm very worried about it. Arizona wins and puts that
first loss in Oklahoma, or how about that and we
win five nothing in the shutout? Arnie. If Arizona shuts

(01:58:32):
out Oklahoma, I'll jump off a bridge. I'll literally kill myself.
I'll tell you what. If they lose, promise me you'll
walk back from California to Oklahoma. Well, I don't think
I'll be able to do it because I need to
make it back for this show. You could do it
in the summer. Do it do sometime in the summer.

(01:58:56):
Sometime during the summer, Yesterda. By the way, I gotta
I gotta give one more prediction. I feel like I
gotta be the first on this. I'm gonna be the
first talk show host in the country to give my prediction.
Go ahead, USFL Michigan Panthers. Well, when the championship or
whatever you want to call it there, you know, why
don't you that? Jeff Fisher? That's what I was. That's

(01:59:20):
all I have to go with. They don't have any
players yet, so I don't know. Can you name the
head coach of the Arizona softball team? Uh? It was
that guy with the mustache. It just retired. Yeah, yeah,
but he's obviously retired. He retired last year. That's right.
I forget his name. Mike Kendre, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Caitlin

(01:59:42):
Low anyway, Yeah, that'll be fun next week to be
out in Palm Springs. All right, here's a quick schedule
of what to look forward to. There's gonna be a
lot of drama around the scouting combine because basically agents
and players have said enough with the COVID restrictions and
you lift these bubble type responsibilities or we're not showing

(02:00:04):
up to the combine. So that'll be interesting. And then Arnie,
you basically you have baseball not starting till May one. Right.
The NFL's league meetings are on March. The start of
the league year is March sixteen. We're gonna have free
agency and more draft talk on March sixteenth, and then

(02:00:28):
the draft is April. We're gonna forget about baseball. Get
it together, Rob Manfred, get it together, right, Hey, Arty,
have a great week. We're filling in for Jason Smith
and Mike on Friday night. Catch us then, and then
back here on Sunday night for Bubbo, for Danny for
the Segre and Arnie, I'm playing Fox Sports Radio.
