Chris and Arnie are hyped to have Arnie's team playing in the Tourney (against TCU) while they're on the air. They dive into the crazy NFL free agency week and ask if the Watson deal is a big gamble for the Browns. They say Baker Mayfield was a fan favorite in Cleveland and discuss his options moving forward. Arizona starts to trail and Arnie begins to meltdown. Todd Fuhrman joins the show from Vegas (as Arizona/TCU goes to OT) and Todd talks everything NCAA Tournament and NFL free agency. They re-visit the Deshaun Watson contract...was it a slimy move by Cleveland to help Watson avoid losing lots of money while he's suspended? How many games will the NFL hand down to Watson? Plus, 5 things that can get a FOX Sports host fired and Arnie's picks can take you to the poor-house.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening the Fox sports. Oh, let's go, Let's let's go.
Let's go. How are you feeling right now? We don't
lose to the fighting Barneys. Let's go, oh because their purple.
I see what you. Let's go. Arnie is well, unfortunately
doesn't have the best track record being on the year

(00:22):
while his team plays. Right, you guys do that to
me on purpose too. It just kills them. Listen, man,
I don't make the schedules around here. I just show
up what I'm supposed to, except for last week. So
thanks for giving me the Sunday. You're welcome, You're welcome, welcome.
We're at the half. Arnie's beloved Arizona Wildcats, the only
team that he roots for that has won anything recently,

(00:44):
thirty nine thirty six. They leave the TCU Horned Frogs
in the second round to this team for crying out loud.
Tc is not bad. Meanwhile, starting to pull away from
Texas fighting with Barnette to go in the second half
fifty nine to fifty two. Uh so you're feeling good,

(01:04):
I mean we can go and we can go to
a breakdown of the box score. And you don't have
an answer right now? For O'Bannon junior or okay's doing
he's three of eight from three point land. He's not
shooting all that. I know the announcements make it sound
like he's fifty out of fifty, but he's okay. Well,
he's five of eleven from the floor with thirty I'm
not account Thank you, Chris, thank you. I mean, you're

(01:26):
just s and all over it whenever it's actually been
fairly spectacular. I mean, you're a one man team right now.
Matherin's done well too, he's in double digits. Oh, he's
to three pointers and you're acting like he's in double digits.
I know, I know you. I know you guys are
all rooting against me. I feel the negative vibes that
are coming out through the airwaves. Well, I don't know

(01:48):
why we would ever root for someone that. Whenever our
teams are playing, we'd get a text from you and
it's like, what's wrong, what's going on? I mean, I
don't know why it would ever be a situation where
we would root against your teams, because you would never
do that, right, never did text your first win? Uh,
you went ahead, got Adam so who's like, hey, congratulations,
I don't think it was congratulations. Um I think it.

(02:10):
I think it said you still stink, is what oh man,
we got about. So Arnie is going to be completely
and totally predisposed, so we gotta get everything out of
him here in the first segment that we possibly can.
While halftime is going on, I'm gonna walk off the
show if they lose. I'll tell you that. Well, Bobo

(02:31):
and Danny were ready. I mean, I'll just let you
know right now if you have told the boss we're
ready to go, stop scheduling me when Arizona plays, and
they don't listen to me. So we couldn't assure you
never those sixteen and one upsets have happened before, or
at least one, so we just wanted to make sure.
And then they didn't really set one quick, very old man,

(02:51):
get off my lawn, grinch. Why do we wait so
long to a set start times and me throw spreads
out in college back? I don't know. I I thought,
first of all, I I thought that all the games
back in the day used to be done before sixty
minutes came on or something like that. So it's crazy.
I there was like five games after five o'clock Eastern.
Um by two o'clock eastern, there was only like one

(03:13):
game in the books. The whole thing uh ruined the
whole viewing experience for me today, I gotta tell you that, well, um,
you've got a choice here then in the open with
Arnie and Plank on a Fox Football Sunday, I have
the notepad of topics from Arnie Spaniard that quite a
bit here tonight, including n c A tournament reaction, uh

(03:34):
instant reaction to Arizona thoughts on the n c A
A tournament, but also five wait, wait, five things you
should uh fire a Fox Sports radio talk show host four.
I got that there, and five things I want when
I win the Fox contest for the Marx Madness, So
I want to put that in there to so I
would assume this has something to do with my brackets

(03:56):
of five things you should fire a host four. We'll
wait until after the games over. So you're really salty.
But I noticed I noticed here as we kick off
a Sunday night that of these topics that you've thrown
out for us to talk about March Madness might get
your Roman numeral And yes, Arnie uses Roman numerals. Roman
numeral number one, but stories number two, three, four, five, six, seven. Hey,

(04:26):
NFL stuff, and I am here for it. What a dynamic, exiting, engaging,
game changing week in the National Football League, Arney. I
don't even know where to start. I was telling Danny
and Bobo that I was on some college basketball duty
and college softball on Friday, so I was immersed in it. Man,
I want to do a good job and cover the

(04:47):
tournament and cover the number one team in the country.
So I'm in right, and as I get ready to
go on the air, someone goes I'm scrolling Twitter. I'm like, oh,
the Shawn Watson pick Cleveland, And the dude literally told
me you're just now hearing about that. So I then
had to every prep that I had done right, because
you know, ma'am, I'm an NFL. I love the offseason.
All this prep I did for a game and for

(05:08):
a show went out there. I was worthless, worthless because
I'm stuck trying to figure out how did that turn
a for the Shawn Watson end up in Houston? Was
it all about the money? And then b Arnie, how
quickly did Baker Mayfield fall out of favor with not
And again well, this isn't the same front office, general

(05:31):
manager or coach the drafted him. So that but again,
if you happen to inherit, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Aaron,
you find a way to make sure that works right.
But they quickly man at one season, It's almost as
if they turned on him. It was why I gotta
tell you because I I called my son, who lives
in Ohio, not far from Cleveland. Uh. He's you know,

(05:53):
he's a die hard hockey guy, but he enjoys a
little bit of football. He's not he's certainly like below
the average, like the average fan. He's been the two
Brown games. He works like the security every once in
a while. And I asked him, I go, what do
you figure people happy they got to Shawn Watson, Because,
let me tell you, something goes. Baker Mayfield is really
really popular here. People are are really upset, um that

(06:15):
Baker Mayfield is going to be gone. And um, he
would say that the majority of people, maybe like seventy
twenty five upset that Baker's will be gone and the
John Watson's coming in. At least Baker was very popular
in Cleveland. I don't think people really understand that Chris,
I okay, so I get it right because of where
I am, Baker that the commercials, you know, the whole

(06:35):
thing makes you popular well, and I should say for
those and are familiar, I live in Oklahoma. I cover
the Oklahoma Sooners, and I lived like literally the first
year that I moved to Norman. What's Baker's first year
is a start and to kind of give you an
idea of how Oklahoma State Oklahoma fans are still connected
Baker Areney. We carried the Browns games on our affiliate

(06:59):
in Norman, Oklahoma. I mean Cleveland Brown's football has been
on the air, So it's not just Cleveland fans had
had an affection, but I mean, you know back in
the day whenever the ticket was and then I guess
it's still a thing right where you'd have to go
and figure out what games are being carried where we're
getting Browns games all the time on the TV side too.

(07:19):
So this was this has been a wild couple of
days to see Cleveland go from all right, Baker good
at right, good, good personality, swagger brings. It can be
a little bit abrasive if he's not your quarterback, But
I if the Chris and Chris Morton sends a pro right,
So I'm gonna go back here a little bit. There's

(07:41):
no way that he just made up someone saying they
needed an adult in the room when that came out.
And remember once that came out to Shawn Watson had
said yeah apparently because well, yeah, thank you. So that's
where I'm perplexed in this whole process. Is DeShawn Watson
a quarterback up grade over Baker? Sure, I don't think

(08:04):
there's any doubt about that. But Arnie DeShawn now comes
with incredible baggage, and you don't know how long he's
going to be suspended. Is it going to be a
time served kind of a thing or is he gonna
find himself out for quite a bit of time this season?
And by the way, you know people are looking with
the Shawn Watson has done yardage wise, you're not a fan,

(08:27):
you know a little that's a little bit misleading to
when you play on a bad team and you're throwing
down three touchdowns and even though they made the playoffs,
I believe what once um, you're you're picking up a
lot of yards at the end of the game. You
know what I mean Chris, especially in that division for
crying out loud, which just thinks out loud. So I
think it's a little misleading when you look at his
yardage out there. Well, I'll add this, um, I'll add this.

(08:51):
Whenever there was a conversation here on this y'all Verry
radio program between Arnie Spanier and Chris Plank about that, yes,
I just use third person about the possibility of the
Shawn Watson to Miami. You shut it down and you're
worn in favor of no, not at all, and I
would still be uh. I did say though that I

(09:12):
would take Baker Mayfield over to him. So what happens
to Baker now? Where I mean, is this just a
slam dunk that he's with the Colts? He wants to
go to the what's the rumor? Now? He wants to
go to the Colts, but that Seattle is interested in
Baker Mayfield and by making that upwards, no, no, no, no,
I won't lie to you. I think everyone's kind of
been in shock since this one eight on Friday, because

(09:36):
if you just I mean, I know it's Sunday night
and by this point we need to have our stuff
together or Scott Shapiro is gonna be very mad at us.
But I still have no idea what's going on with this.
I know to Shawn Watson's brown, I know that they
went out and got their backup in Jacoby Brissette, and
I know Baker Mayfield still on the roster. But there's
a handful of teams New Orleans, Indianapolis, I mean obviously

(10:00):
Seattle that have big time quarterback questions. You start looking
at a place like you see a guy like Baker
become available, and you think about the coaches who wanted
him whenever he was coming out. How about a first
place team that needs a quarterback? Go ahead, I'm listening.
I didn't say, well this year, but maybe next year.
Who are you thinking? Tampa Bay? Tampa to Brady gonna

(10:24):
keep playing. But if I don't one more years, who knows?
There was the other one eighty from this past week
that kind of blew me away. Well, actually that was
last Sunday. I was gone and Arnie texted me, He's like,
good day to take the day off. I'm like, I'm
on the beach. Bro. Tom Brady can come back all
he wants um, But I'll tell you what the the
whole idea that Baker Mayfield is suddenly trash. He's something

(10:47):
that just blows me away. If you took a private
vote right right that you know on paper, nobody can
see how you voted. How would the front office of
the Arizona card is phoe between Murray and Baker Mayfield. Oh,
I think they's silva for Kyler, I do, But that's
I can phrase the question. Go ahead, Murray and his

(11:08):
attitude on how much money he wants or Baker Mayfield
and not now answer well, probably Baker, but Baker is
gonna want a lot of money if you win capes
with him, too. True, that's not as much as Murray
as I'm guessing, but I I don't know yet how
much you're really saving. That's also the attitude. I guess, uh,
you know, but what can you do there? I don't know.

(11:28):
Arizona certainly will have options, but I thought that would
be another one for him, you know. I like. I
like the reaction to this because of how split it is. Right,
there's one faction that says kudos and the Browns for
going all in. Obviously they had a couple of years
since Stefanski to get done what they wanted to get done,
and they didn't like Baker and his d whatever it

(11:48):
might be, and they go for to Shawn Watson. And
then only there's this completely other side of things. I
I retweeted that Mitchell short sweat threat. Excuse me, Jeff
Schwartz's younger brother who played for the Chiefs and retired
this offseason. Um, I don't know if that's officially yet,
Sorry Mitch. But the thing that blows my mind is
there is this other side. It's like, what what? What

(12:09):
the hell just happened here? This dude got the richest
contract for a quarterback by sitting out an entire season.
That's I mean and ever and again in essential proven
guilty criminal charges against him, But there's still a boatload
of civil cases that are looming against a Shawn Watson.
This doesn't magically disappear because the Browns made a move

(12:31):
to go get him. And my gosh, Cleveland has given
up a lot in this deal, Arnie a lot. Well.
Cleveland said they did their due diligence and checked it
all up, and except the lawyer for the two women
said nobody ever contacted him, So I yeah, can you
do your due diligence. By the way, we're losing to
the fighting Barney's right now by two of their going

(12:53):
to the line. This is killing me. This is gonna
be the whole night tonight. March Madness is getting good
down the stretch in the final two games a little.
We can't lose to them. A little over three minutes
to go between Texas and Perdue, this has been a
fun game so far. Perdue as a sixty five sixty
lead with three seven to go, Uh, make it sixty

(13:15):
s sixties. They hit the first free throw. I can't
even watch the end of that game because I only
have one TV in my studio. I'm gonna watch. I'm
gonna watch that game only because I don't want to
worry about you spoiling things for me. Could you imagine
if you guys were ahead of me and you spoil
the Arizona game for me? How much would you love that? Huh?
Can we make it happen? Bobo? What do we have

(13:36):
to do to make that happen? Whatever it takes, will
do it. TCU leads Arizona sixty seven sixty per Due
over Texas with three thirty two to go in that game,
will keep you up to date on all of the
action in March final two games, and when we come back,

(13:56):
we'll continue to go all in on the National Football League.
Brown Fan tonight, help me out. I'm being serious on
Twitter at Stink Ingenius one at Plank Show. I know
you've had a Friday afternoon, a full Saturday, and all
day today to let it marinate. Where are we? Where
are we in the DeShawn Watson move? Fans give up
too much? Where you're tired of Baker kind of where

(14:19):
is that mindset right now? And with the way, with
the way that they've invested Arnie, I mean, this isn't
just a team that can go to the playoffs, right
This is a team that has to advance, maybe make
a Super Bowl or this thing is an out and
out disaster right in the first years, first first in

(14:40):
a very challenging a f C, you've got to be
at least playing in championship games, right, well, yeah, you
certainly have to maybe win the division. That's a good start.
Let's see what happens after that. When we come back,
Arnie and Plank on a Fox well, I say football Sunday,
but some incredible basketball going on we'll check Arnie's temperature
as his Arizona Wildcats are dumbling against TCU. It's already

Fox Sports Radio. UH Texas for Due getting good a minute,
tend to go in the game. They're an official review
per Due legs at sev seventy one PE. This scat
free throws Texas seven of twelve Perdue twenty nine of

(16:07):
forty two guys. I don't know. I don't know if
the sager has the time this and again we still
have a minute tend to go in the game. This
has to be the largest foul shooting discrepan see in
the history of maybe not just the n c A Tournament,
but maybe college basketball. Twelve free throws to forty two. Wow,

(16:31):
that's a big one, man. I I'm sure there's been bigger,
but that's a pretty big one right now. I think
Texas is gonna get the battle. No, it's gonna be
pretty basketball. But anyway, how's your voice looking, Arnie? I
took time. I was a little nervous. We were down
by six. I was going crazy. Thank goodness, I wasn't
on the air, so you, I bet you more people
rather watch me watch the Arizona game instead of watching

(16:54):
the Arizona game. It's so nerve wracking on go Live.
Do you have to? I mean, well, I guess, uh no,
you don't want to see I'm not wearing a shirt.
You're not wearing your shirt. I was wearing a shirt.

eligible to win that. I think we're gonna win the
uh the host bracket, which I think is bitcoin this
year or something. But what it iss like that, Well,
it's usually a secret prize you would know about. Okay,
I have a I'm never in on the secrets around here.
I have a dumb question, yea, when we're having to

(18:01):
go slow motion to see whose fingertips ematch the basketball last,
are we not maybe getting a little bit too fine
here with replay and review. I mean we're slowing it down,
we're changing camera angles, were digitally enhancing things whenever it's
I mean, I thought it always had to be indisputable

(18:24):
evidence and stuff. What what would lead to a call
being changed? But this is bogging down the end of
this wild game. Yeah, I um, I just witched it
back over because you know, I'm watching the Arizona game,
so I didn't see the play, but I've seen it before.
Were the yet trying to figure out? You know, especially
when somebody comes over the back and they don't call
over the back and it goes out of bounds. You
know who did it go off of? One guy hits it,
but did go off his fingers and you're looking at

(18:46):
that at every angle and which finger touched it, lasted
all that stuff. Hey, before we before we hit twitter,
you guys have been great already at stinking genius. Want
him at Plank Show? Authentic? Allen is after you tonight,
not me, So it's good night. We'll get to that
here in a second. But overall, I know you can
be kind of a hard greater on the tournament, right
You want buzzer beaters galore, you want upsets, but then

(19:08):
you're mad whenever you have to watch Cinderella's play. So overall,
how do you feel about this tournament in general and
the entertainment value so far? Normally I give it about
a B B minus. I moved it up a little
bit just because of St. Peter's being in there. So
I've I've enjoyed that run. I think that's been good.
So let's say about a B maybe a B plus

(19:29):
right right in that area. I'm just saying, okay, but
I've not seen any I gotta have the buzzer beaters.
I gotta have stuff like that. You know, it's as
wild as it is. We're still in a position where
you can get a lot of chalk. We've already had
a one seed fall, but um well, I guess maybe
in that you could still get the three seed. And
in Purdue, who just hit a big three to go
back up by six on Texas with under a minute

(19:52):
to go. U C. L A Is still alive in
that brackets, So there's a chance of a Cinderella out
of the East bracket. But for the most part, in
the West, South and Midwest, even though Auburn got beat
by Miami, you can still end up with a bunch
of one seeds. Got crushed by Miami. A matter of
fact that they said it was only the second time
UH team's gone let from start to finish UH and

(20:15):
beat a number two seeds like that, So that was
absolutely incredible. They they had their full game going to
a bad game for Auburn, no doubt about that. Yeah,
who's is there a bigger disappointment than Kentucky. I mean,
I'm sorry, Kentucky. You don't get to say, well, St.
Peter has made it to the Sweet six team, nor
do I think any No, you don't get to say
that a Kentucky fan is saying that, oh, this is

(20:37):
gonna be perdue basketball. That tipped off of Jones hand.
Tough turnover for Texas here late. Um, but anyway, Arnie,
I I would say Kentucky hands down summer calling it
the biggest upset in the history of the tournament. One.
You know, Virginia UNBC. Virginia is not a great offensive team,
so you always think that the upsence possible, um, you know,

(20:59):
when whoever they're playing, because they just don't have a
lot of offense. But overall, um, you know, I would
I'd like to say it was I'm gonna have to
give it to u NBC just for being the first
sixteen to beat the one. But but damn, it's pretty
damn close. I'll be honest with you, No, I'm not.
I'm I'm with you. Especially I didn't know much about St.
Peter's I mean, what barely two thousand students enrolled, their

(21:21):
coaches kind of becoming This is very similar to O
are you last year, right, Golden Eagles made their run
right Oral Roberts University. So back to back years we
have a sixteen or fifteen seed going to the Sweet sixteen.
I think it's been a fun tournament. You're right. We
haven't had that miraculous buzzer beater moment, right we we
still love yet to have, and we had a couple

(21:42):
of really good overtime games. But for the most part
on it, it's just it's been good basketball, I think,
and you you've had an upset, well, you know what
we have had that. I think that it's the popular consensus,
at least on Twitter it is, is that the officials
have done a really bad job and a lot of games.
And I gotta tell you, I think I've agreed with that.
There's been some really really not so much bad calls,

(22:04):
but like missed calls, you know what I mean, just
like horrible, horrible things. I'm like, how could you make that?
Cause obviously it was going supposally when you look at
the replay um and they've just missed it. So there's
been bad officiating. I think, you know, a couple of
them really stand out. NCC Miami had a problem with
one horrible bad call. Iowa got really host late against Richmond.

(22:24):
And again, I know that everyone likes a twelve five upset,
so it's it's probably not anything that's gonna make much
of an impact. But the areny dude shooting a three
to give eye with a lead and he got absolutely hacked.
Oh the when when he got hit on the elbows?
I mean he got hit on the elbow. And I've
seen this about four or five times and there's an
official standing right there looking at it, not making a call.

(22:47):
So four officiating, we need five officials out on the
court instead of three. I don't know, Well that would
really slow the game down. Looks like we're due is
gonna hang on. They've got a great shot to potentially
make a run to the final four. There what the
highest seed a team left in the East. Brackett, Texas
gave him a good fight at thirty nine seconds left,
but Steve de Seger comes rolling in to get us

(23:08):
caught up on everything going on in the n c
a A tournament. What's going on? Good morning, our good evening, Steve,
how do you do? Twenty seconds left? Produced seventy seventy
one over Texas And yeah, the Arizona Wildcats. You we predicted,
We were all over this last night, Chris with Aaron
Torres on the show last night, knowing when this Arizona

(23:29):
game would tip off, roughly when your show begins on
Sunday nights, knowing that by the time this show began,
Arizona would be struggling. It's the Arnie Curse. Arizona fifty
two over TCU under thirteen minutes left. Curse, what curse?
N anyone in the Arthona Athletic department. Any team that
is playing while Arnie is on the air has a

(23:51):
great chance of losing, no matter how great they are,
and this is a great Arizona team. In fact, I
would say if Arizona loses tonight, it would be just
is embarrassing as if you U C. L A had
lost in the first round to Akron because from the
major conferences, Perdue is easily one of the worst teams
in the n C Double A field. Now they do
have rebounding like Perdue, which is just one by the way,

(24:14):
that's one final. Texas is out. But for TCU, the
offense average is only sixty eight points a game, one
of the worst in the tournament field. They commit among
the most turnovers of any team in the field of
sixty eight this year, as far as free throw percentage
sixty as a team that ranks three hundred fifteen in

(24:36):
the country, yet again among the worst in the field
this year. And TCU is literally the worst three point
shooting team in the n c A in the world.
So then tonight they've made five three pointers. Five stuff
Curry's out there for TCUs well one open. It has
almost all the threes that the team has made. But
Arizona as a team is two of fifteen from long distance.

(24:59):
Is like oh for from three point right, at least
he's playing fifty seven fifty two Now Arizona is leading
twelve and a half ago. And by the way, Chris,
we can put to rest this myth that Arnie continues
to put out that he holds any power in the
hallways here at Fox Sports Radio. When we hear the
coming early in tonight's first hour, the bosses wouldn't give
me the night off. Arizona's exactly. You have no control

(25:21):
over anything. You or anyone wait till get to the
five reasons we should fire a Fox Sports radio talk show.
I'm standing by that'll be very entertaining. You've referenced Oral Roberts.
By the way, they've got a team. The guy that
from that team that made a run last year that
is on this Texas Tech team, Kevin Open or in fact,
another double double for him fifteen points, fifteen rebounds, Texas

(25:45):
Tech beating Notre Dame fifty fifty three from Stats Inc.
This guy is the first guy since Shack to have
a double double in each of his first five n
ci A career tournament games. Because you'd go back to
the Or Roberts experience, including the wins last year. St.
Peter's is making that kind of run. The Pea Huck's

(26:05):
had a first round win against Kentucky, then beat Murray
State of Kentucky. They're still alive despite as you say,
the small enrollment. I think all two thousand students were
in that one room going crazy watching the game. They
also did not have a single player that made the
All Conference first team this year. And that's the Metro
Atlantic Conference. That's not SEC Big ten. What have you?

(26:27):
And guess where They're playing Perdue on Friday night in Philadelphia,
which is less than a hundred miles from Kansas from campus.
I think that that crowd is going to be as
loud in Philly for St. Peter's as Arizona with its
fans in San Diego tonight, Arizona fifty seven fifty four
in the lead under twelve minutes to go. When this
game is over, the second round of the n c

(26:49):
a is A Tournament is over. Duke Duke is still alive.
They were down five to Michigan State with five minutes left,
but beat the Spartans seventy six. So Duke Texas in
San Francisco in the Sweet sixteen. Iowa State and Miami
with upset wins, so they'll face each other Friday in Chicago.
Iowa State eliminated Wisconsin in Milwaukee fifty four forty nine.

(27:12):
Miami up by a point at the half, dominated Auburn
in the second half seventy nine sixty one. The final,
Villanova and Houston with victories. And by the way, as
far as the n c Double A Women's Tournament, there
was a score that jumped out today. Number one South
Carolina in its second round game for thirty three was
the final over Miami. The Miami women through three quarters

(27:35):
had fifteen points in this game. They scored more in
the fourth quarter than they had in the first three combined,
and Baylor's out. South Dakota upset the Baylor women's basketball
team in the second round, and Creighton upset another two
seed Iowa sixty four sixty two. As for the NBA,
there were nine games Phoenix wanted overtime at Sacramento, Memphis,
one again at Houston, which is just wretched. This year.

(27:58):
San Antonio gotta win at Golden State, and Boston won
again beat Denver by twenty. The Bengal sign tackle Lyle
Collins from Dallas. Infielder Trevor Story gets a six year
deal from the Red Zucks. William Byron the NASCAR winner
at Atlanta. As for college hoops, Arizona leads TCU under
eleven minutes. It's well for part of the time, it's

(28:22):
been more like that fifty four though they are leading
against the TCU Horned Frogs. I have no idea. The
sound of the horn fighting barneys is what they are.
The Purple team is still in Thanks Steve. It's any
in playing of Fox Sports Radio. How are you better?
You good now? Or no? I'm not, No, No, There's

(28:43):
been too many times where I've I've oh some terrible
I remember losing was it to Miami of Ohio in
the first round of fifteen seed against a two seed?
And I said on the air to Bill Matlock, who
was a host at the time, that I'd walk back
from Tucson to Vegas if that happened. And I think
that happened. We lost to uh wasn't middle Tendency State

(29:04):
with Mr Jennings Keith Jennings or something like that, So
I don't know if you remember him. We lost to him.
We lost to Richmond in the first round, and we
had too many bad laws? Is that just staying me
right now? That that just forever is edged in my mind.
I'll be old and forget my wife's name, but I
won't remember. I'll remember those laws until the day I

(29:24):
just shined. I was trying to find all the postseason
tournament notes. Here we go, here we go, I I
I have discovered them. Let's see, two thousand and eighteen
lost in the first round. Two thousand and sixteen lost
in the first round. You went to the Elite eight
and back to back years in fourteen and fifteen, so
that's not too shat. I was. I was there when
we won the finals. I started to cry. I'm like,

(29:47):
I'm never gonna see this again. You're gonna You're gonna
admit to a good sports cry. Oh yeah, it was great.
But here is that uh nineties seven nine seven? Yeah,
ninety seven national champion should you guys? What did it again? An? O? One? Right?
So well you played? Did you play for the national championship?
And oh one? Yeah? We we um well lost. I

(30:10):
think that one Kentucky, I think it was. I'm telling
you right now, I think you guys are in trouble tonight.
I'm starting to get a little bit worried about the
way this game is going. TCU is starting to heat
up because they're only down five right now and their
star hasn't even got going yet. They're big. I got hurt,
so I don't know, but he's out there, but he

(30:30):
did get which one Lampkin or Lamb Bannon Jr. Lampkin
twisted his ankle. Well, once Mike Miles gets going, Arnie,
this could be over though. Your boy that threw it
down a dunk kind of changed the whole yea feel
of that game. All right, So we're watching the n
c A Tournament Arizona TCU the final game. Here's what

(30:50):
it looks like quickly for next week. The first game
on by the way, you're gonna have something to complain
about here, just to let you know. The first game
him on Thursday is Gonzaga Arkansas in the West Regional.
That'll be followed by Texas Tech versus Duke, which from
everything I saw, looks like it's going to be Mike

(31:11):
Sachowski's last game he'll coach on CBS because even if
they win, they're like, no more games on CBS. They're
all on TBS the rest of the way after that,
I don't know. Um. And then and then the other
Thursday games are in the South six fifteen Nova and
Michigan and then Arizona if they win versus Houston Arenie.

(31:34):
You're already getting short sighted here. They're gonna make you
turn around and play on short rest next Thursday. If
you win. That's who we played in Houston after we
win today? Is that Houston Illinois? We Kelvin Sampson beat down.
Did he coach Oklahoma when Oklahoma beat Arizona in the
first round likely likely, and that was like a seed

(31:54):
to get the three seed, and you upset us and
it just destroyed me. Yeah, well we might be on
the brink of destruction here. Hit me. Uh. And then Friday,
the first game from the East Regional, these are Friday
games is produced St. Peter's. The other Friday game p
L A U n C. And as Steve de Seger mentioned,

(32:15):
these games are in Philly, so I'm sure there'll be
a lot of North Carolina. It's not that that's a
short drive for North Carolina, but there's a lot of
North Carolina fans everywhere, so I'm sure there'll be a
strong un C contingent and hopefully a strong St. Peter's contingent.
And then in the Midwest Arnie six fifteen Central time
my deal in God's time zone, people Kansas and Providence,

(32:36):
followed by the least likely bottom half of a bracket
that could have ever been imagined, Iowa State and Miami,
who are horrible last year, horrible last year? Had you
paid attention, Okay, we can talk about St. Peter's and
it's unlikely run right, and it's it's understandable. Did you

(32:58):
see what Iwa State did down the stretch of the season.
Iowa State lost three straight games to end the season.
They were outscored fifty three thirty six by Oklahoma State.
They were beaten by Baylor when they scored just sixty eight.
And in the Big Twelve Tournament Arni Iowa State scored

(33:19):
forty one points, got got beat by thirty one. Texas
Tech beat him seventy two to forty one. They go
to the n c A Tournament, beat l s U,
somehow beat Wisconsin, and now they're off to the Sweet
six team. Tell me how this makes any sins. Virginia
Tech roles in the a c C Tournament, comes out,

(33:40):
gets smoked by Texas I unstoppable. In the Big Ten Tournament,
comes out, gets beat by Richmond. Iwa State stinks down
the stretch of the season, wins their first two games.
How do you make sense of any of this? I don't.
I don't, But you know, Chris is, for some reason,
they gave TCU an extra point. You're not even paying no.
I I heard everything I said, but it was fifty

(34:02):
fifties seven and the next thing I look up it
was just like added a point to TCU. I what
the hell happened? I don't know they added that point
in there, out out of the blue. Well, um, it's
they get an extra point because of Arizona's FBI probe.
It's a new rule. They're just gonna add it every
minute they get an extra point. All right, it's a
good one between Arizona and TCU. Final game to see

(34:24):
who makes it to the Sweet sixteen. One more ticket
yet to be punched, and we're tracking along all night
long with Arnie and Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Tarni and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. You're breathing easier now,
aren't you. I'm feeling good. I'm feeling Let's go. Let's go.
Arizona has opened up. What are they have? Ten? Now down,

(34:49):
slow your roll there, slow down, a little bit slow,
a little bit slow. Sixties six fifty eight, Arizona. We
don't lose to the fighting barneys. We don't lose the
team's like that. There's still a long time left in
the game. Hey, if cold candidate calls aren't turning into

(35:33):
the free throw line, seven fifty two to go. We'll
keep tabs on that game. You want to hit a
couple of tweets here really at Stinking Genius Wanted Plank Show,
we started the show talking about one of the biggest
stories in sports this week, Deshaun Watson and Cleveland. Now,
there's been a few takes that I won't lie. I
don't know if they're real or if they're trolls. Like

(35:55):
here's one that honestly kind of shook me a little bit.
Perhaps it's less adult to be racist, right See, Mayfield
is the juvenile, Watson is the adult. The twenty two
have one install lawyer, which would make you suspicious if
Watson we're white. You ignore Watson's faithful girlfriend and and

(36:19):
see added you'd find one install lawyer for twenty two
women suspicious if Watson were white, plus the timing of
the lawsuits and the Texans owner, and you ignore Watson's girlfriend,
and you're racist not to want a black man to
have a whole lot of money. Well, there's a lot
of racism claims, and that's not authentic, Allen. I've I've

(36:41):
often stood by this with the Deshaun Watson saga has
nothing to do with race. It has everything to do
with twenty two accusations, not one, not two, twenty two. Um,
I mean, if black, why Hispanic Native American? I mean,

(37:02):
I'm gonna question that kind of number. Regardless, He's gonna
have to pay off some civil lawsuits here, and I
don't think they're all gonna find, you know, get no
money for it. I think he'll settle those out of court,
which I don't know. Does that mean he's guilty. I
don't know what to say about that. Again, Is Baker
Mayfield a guy that grew up in the social media era?

(37:23):
You bat, that's not very common, right, Tom Brady didn't
Peyton Manning getting Uh, we haven't. It's been something that
kind of hit for me in my adult life. Baker
Mayfield grew up with it, so he's got a little
bit of a different edge as does Gosh. I mean, look,
Joe Burrow has a little bit of a different edge
two him, if they all do. But I just this

(37:46):
whole adult and how your war out by why because
he stands up for his team, he stands up for
his guys. I don't understand that. And as sure as
hell isn't racist to question whenever dude has twenty two allegants,
he didn't even without the allegations. This is a guy
that quit on his team and didn't want to be
around anymore, so um and wasn't going to play. So

(38:08):
I mean you could take that. That is one of
my biggest complaints in this whole thing with the Shawn Watson.
I understand you hate Houston, you hate the ownership. I
get it, But there wasn't anything when you saw David
Colley and they're fighting for his fashional life where you
saw teammates that you worked with where you didn't say, gosh,

(38:29):
let's go I am a bazillion times better than Davis Mills,
let's go win some football games. The fact that that
never kicked in and I can't Listen, I don't need
the speech on how he was mistreated and they didn't
come talk to him. I get that, I understand that,
But I just thought at some point to be like, man,
I want to go ball, I want to go plane.
It never happened. Uh, nature boy right. If if I

(38:51):
were a Cleveland fan, I would just wish I was
somewhere else, anywhere else. Cleveland's been getting a bad knockets
during the corner people like Cleveland. Uh. And then a
one more quick one before the top of the hour
update which Sager Baker has that blue collar get up
and work no matter the pain or injury you were
going through. He touched it out to Clara, he toughed

(39:12):
it out to close out the year. Easy to see
why Browns fans loved him. That's kind of been my
thing in this whole process. I mean, he was playing
hurt and I'll tell you what if if he can
get rolling Arnie, if it's Seattle, if it's Indianapolis, if
it's New Orleans, I think they got a guy that
they can put in day one, and you know, I

(39:33):
think he's gonna be better in India than Carson Wentz
was under Frank Reich. I think he's gonna be good
for Seattle, who still I think thinks they can compete.
They got a lot of draft picks. But I think
wherever Baker ends up, he's got a chance and he's
going to be successful. Right, there's just not a lot
of choices out there. I thought there would be more
choices for somebody like Baker Mayfield. Now you can always
look if there's an injury. But then again, do you

(39:54):
want to go to a team if it's just gonna
be a one year fixed I don't. I don't think so.
Um even is when you're left on that rookie deal.
We'll see what happens there, all right? Our one in
the books, Todd Ferman coming up an hour two. It's
getting a little dicey. Arizona up by seven on TCU
with six forty to go in the game. Will give
you a complete rundown of the Sweet sixteen when Arizona

(40:15):
wraps this up against TCU, and talk about more than
just a Shawn Watson. How about Davante Adams to the Raiders?
What does it mean? We'll talk about it next on Fox. Artie, Artie,
how are we doing? Shut up? It's killing me. It's
good with the turnovers and and everybody. It's like everybody

(40:38):
on Twitter's rooting against me. I hate everything. No, hold on,
I I gotta look and see what regional is this in?
Are you in Portland? Where are you? Oh you're in
San Diego? Why don't have to have I was trying
to get all the stats so I could sit here
and and really lay out how frustrating mis has to
be right now. It's killing me. But like, I can't

(40:59):
do a show off Arizona loses, I can't be expected
to be happy and do a show. Um, if my
Wildcats get eliminated to to to these guys lead, I
need a media pass coach, someone quick, give me your
pass code so I get on the status feed so
I can nerd out with some numbers on this right now,
because when isn't it like a tenno run right now? Um,

(41:23):
something like that? Oh my gosh, Arnie, not good. Anyway,
we're watching March Matters giving us. You know, it was
sixties seven sixty, and we were about to get the
ball and we lost it and they got the three
pointer and then it was sixty. The hell wh it?
It doesn't matter. It's just we're down by one right
now and they have the ball. Uh and there's on

(41:44):
their four minutes to go. I just I'm nervous as heck.
I I can't believe it. It is a tenno run
that we're currently in the midst like the refs want
TCU to win. Hold on, hold on. It's just that
good big twelve defense. Baby, you're it's not used to
it with your soft finesse play out of the West Coast.
Who's a lot from the pack twelve U c l

(42:05):
A is at it? Anyone else? There's only three teams
USC laws. So there you go. Who's still around for
the big twelve? Tech? Moving on? Kansas moving on? I
was State moving on up my two TCU moving on.
I think we're on the same feed for some reason.
With the let's go bo Bo, let's go, Danny g

(42:28):
let's go. I'm behind everyone. It's still there's three to
go on my feet. Stupid app that every single time
I opened up, they're up by three. T c US
up by three right now with at eight left in
the game. Wow, look at that? Wow? Shut up? You
know you know I don't say anything about the Cowboys
and the Cowboys are choking every year. Yes, you know

(42:50):
what a curse on your raiders. Make it words for
the next fifty years of your life. For you look
at this while I look at that defense. Wow about
it is all the things that he does that Arnie
does whenever your team is playing what miss Bold here
this evening? We just lost. I just had Myles make

(43:11):
his free throw. So you guys are living in the future.
Done TCU with the ball and they're up by three.
It's done. Three minutes left in the game. You have
no faith left? Man, Come on this Arizona team. Well okay,
let me give you the pep talk fat pep talk time. Right,
let's you bet not pep talking? No, how he'd been
doing us doing a super Bowl in big games? Kiss TCU.

(43:35):
Another three pointer? I love having the feet in front
of Arnie. Oh, this is just brutal. What's happening right now?
To one? Seed? Is gonna falling back to back days?
Better not? That's all I can tell you. Did he bet?
Did you bet your job on this one at all?
Did we have any of that to have any sixty seven?
Let's go oh wait a minute, I should oh game

(43:57):
the twelve oh run is over. Nobody asked the saga.
If nobody was asking anything, that somebody better ask the
saga real quick. And by the way, what are we
every after every bucket? It's like we're cheering like we
won a championship. Don't stick out your tongue like you're
won the game. It's tied in seventy played some defense. Well,
you know, they had three three pointers the whole game,

(44:21):
three of twenty until that shot. Wow, what TC You
really blew an opportunity to kind of blow the lid
off to go up by five, then a chance to
go by five. They think they're gonna get every call
every time they drive to the bucket. Sorry, well, quit
foul them. I mean that might be one way to
go about it. Yeah, Miles got fouled on That was
a horrible note because Gottly just jeez just tweeted Miles

(44:42):
got foul that they didn't call that. Geez, there's an
asterisk on this game now, regardless of what happens for
that nonfoul call with forty to go in the game,
the horrific officiating continues. But have been even in this game,
by the way, and it was funny. Have we really
been able to dig into the foul discreption in that

(45:04):
Perdue Texas game. Somebody retweeted something from you know, Pro
Football Reference that there's also a college football Reference. A
couple of weeks ago, they tweeted that Perdue, out of
the entire country, had the number one free throw attempt
differential them and their opponents of any team in the
whole country. Out of three fifty college basketball teams, Perdue

(45:24):
was about a plus two fifty on free throw attempts
for the season compared to their opponents. And then tonight
Texas commits thirty fouls, about double the amount of fels
Perdue committed. So yeah, it was a discrepancy at the line.
In a forty minute game, Perdue was thirty three of
forty six on free throws at Texas attempted twelve free throws.

(45:45):
Somebody did find that there was a Cincinnati nonconference game
early in the season five six years ago that had
a huge difference where they blew out Arkansas Pine Bluff
that night, but the discrepancy was Cincinnati tried fifty nine
free throws that night and the opponent at just eleven.
But that was not a tournament game. There was an
NBA game three years ago where Philly had a discrepancy

(46:07):
about like the Purdue game tonight. It was forty three
to sixteen. And then someone had a stat from Boston
that said, in the NBA's history of the last fifty
plus years, over fifty thousand games, to have a free
throw discrepancy that large happens in zero point two of
NBA games. So, yes, it was odds. You are correct,

(46:30):
it was odd. How are you feeling? So, I'm not
feeling good with TCU with a two point lead right now,
I'm not feeling good. Tc you just missed a free throw.
I know. I'm watching the game. The sager, I can
see what's going out for the people. I'm not blind.
Just pushing you around. Dude, he's barking and all that,

(46:51):
and I'm like, oh gosh, he's just barking like crazy.
I interviewed him the other day. He's a good kid, uh,
And I asked him, I said, well, what make you think?
What do you need to do in order to advance?
What does TCU have to do to advance? And he said,
we just gotta compete, and that's it. Just deadpanned. After that,
I'm like that city goes, yeah, compete, so they feel

(47:11):
pretty good about themselves. Right now, we'll get lamb, especially
after Arizona just gagged an alley. Yeah, but and you
know what, it didn't hit the rim, and they set
the shot clock, so they give the ball just the
TC and they have the hell with you, guys, we're
gonna give the ball this ec. I don't because I
don't know how much time was left on the shot clock.
Wouldn't they missed everything? Hold on, I'm still on my
life feed, right it was like seven seconds, so I can,

(47:32):
I can. I can tell you I'm a good thirty
seconds behind your guys. It should be Arizona's ball was
still a few seconds left, seven seconds left on the
shot clock. Do you want to try to do what's well?
We got to be very careful because the n c
a A march madness, like they don't even let how
did he miss that alley? Oh my gosh, that was.

(47:53):
They don't let you play like Westwood one till the
game's completely over. It's it's they're really tight n c
A A. And we talked about this before even on
the you're not allowed to bring a can of soda.
Anywhere near the court because it's not a sponsorship. They
make you pour it into an n C. They are really,
really tighty. I can't tweet out the words of march madness. Yeah,

(48:14):
I mean, and we're not being like melodramatic. It's just
Arnie's usually the dude here on Fox Sports Radio that
is freaking out about me doing play by play because
one time he got yelled at by someone about it.
This is one of those situations where I could see
someone from the n C a A being like Scott
Scott Shapiro. I was listening to Arnie span your Uh

(48:36):
he gave what seemed to be close to a play
by play call with a minute forty to go in
the game. Uh, it was midnight here on the East Coast.
What am I talking about? Uh, it's twelve ten, after
ten minutes after midnight on the East Coast. We want
Arnie and Fox Sports Radio find so we gotta be careful.
We gotta be careful. Gotta be careful. But a minute

(48:56):
forty seven ago, how you feeling right now? Where's that
gut for Arnie space? I'm not feeling good. I'm really
not a matter of fact, I don't know what the
uh you know the percentage of Arizona winning the game
is right now? Yeah, I do love that set. I
just I mean, the heck, we're it's not looking good
right now, get down by three and um, there's a

(49:18):
long delay, by the way, because they have to reset
the game clock in addition to the shot clock if
indeed Arizona is getting the ball back. So it's correct
to Steve there's a long delay because it's March Madness
and it's a college basketball game. So that's what always happens.
I was telling my wife earlier today, We're trying to
go to lunch or something. I say, hey, hold on,
I want to watch the final thirty seconds of this game.

(49:40):
She goes, thirty seconds. I'm like, thirty seconds, I promise.
Twenty minutes later, she's like, we just gotta go. I'm like, okay,
let's go. They only put up why about five on
the the shot was with seven? Look at the and
look the coach going bullistic. I don't blame them. Well,
when did they blow the whistle? They never blew the whist.

(50:02):
Three two, Well, they didn't stop playing two seconds. You
guys dribbled around forever until there was two sets because
because we thought they set the clock that the glow.
I see what you're saying, so that that's hard, that's horrible. Alright, Arnie.
So here's your favorite. They ripped us off. I want
this game under protest. Another asterisk to add to this game.

(50:23):
There was an extra point added for TCU at some
point early in the game. We have the nonfoul calling
Mike Miles. Now we have two seconds on the shot,
so it's a turnover anyway. Oh no, alright, So that
means the percentages right now, TCU at fift after the
air ball. This after the air ball, it's shot up

(50:47):
to sixty three eight persons. I don't like our chances
right now, Chris, I really don't. Well, I mean, I'll
how about this if you want, if you're that distraught,
well you can take the rest of the night off.
He can go drink it away whatever I'm sure is
gonna go ahead and love that. Yeah, just take the
rest of the night off. Surprised. Yeah, that's right. It's light.

(51:12):
Oh my gosh, that was such a horrible shot on
that three that I'm just now seeing. And TCU, as
we mentioned earlier, they're one of the worst teams in
the field, certainly one of the worst from the Power conferences.
They are not playing tonight like they have played in
most games. And that includes from the foul line that
you could count on them to, you know, make turnovers,

(51:33):
be bad at the foul they're they're the opposite of
Villanova at the free throw line. You know, go ahead,
foul him. In the last two minutes, they're actually making
free throws twenty of twenty seven tonight. Well, and of
course they are, of course they are. Remember how I
was talking about Iowa stating, just jump in if something happens. Guys,
I was talking about Iowa State getting beat by thirty
in the Big Twelve. Are he's crying, He's crying? No,

(51:55):
tc is going to the free throw line. Um, Remember
I saw about Iowa State. It's Fox Sports Radio. Arnie
and Plank were watching Arnie's Arizona Wildcats stumble against TCU.
Right now. I was talking about. I was saying, they
gotta by thirty two in the Big Twelve championship game.
They had a game at home against Oklahoma State when
they scored like thirty eight points in the whole game.
Tc you had lost three of its last four games. Now,

(52:17):
two of those losses were to Kansas, but one of
those losses was to West Virginia, who finished this season
four and fourteen in Big Twelve play. Yeah, their coach
was very available to be on the studio set as
an analyst for March. Maddie, you mentioned Iowa States how
awful they were before the coaching change last year, winless
in the Big Twelve. Iowa State last season was two

(52:39):
and twenty two overall, which means they are the first
team ever to win as many games in the n
c A Tournament as they did in the entire previous season.
The numbers, by the way, tc you just missed one
of two free throws. So the lead is seventy three,
seventy over Arizona. We've got what a minute seventeen to go?
All right? What is it like a sixties something percentage? Blank?

(53:03):
Hold on? I just I clicked off it because I
was trying to figure out just how bad TCU had
been down the stretch. Uh, it is at sixty seven
point one. Person, you can't come back from that. I
can't do that. You hit a three here, you tie
the game? To come back from Oh, I can't believe
We're gonna lose to the fighting Barneys. Unbelievable. You know,

(53:25):
someone had tweeted really early tonight, like before the show
started about me getting on the Boise State years ago. Oh,
I remember that like it was yesterday. Whenever Arizona, which
again shows you how long we've done the show. Again,
when Arizona went to a BCS Bowl and they played
boise and you're like, I don't want to play Boise

(53:45):
Caleb wrote, Remember several years back when you were complaining
about bowl selections and how ridiculous they are and how
insulting it was that Arizona had to play Boise State
because it was no challenge, Arizona was going to win big,
and than Boise State ended up winning. Pepperch Farm remembers Arnie.
I mean, do you remember that by chance you brought

(54:06):
I remember that like it like it was yes Yes,
I remember that one. Also slam dunk Arizona, no foul call,
rip his ad off. They almost had to call the ambulance.
So they're they're still down a point in the final
minute seconds left, so this is not looking good. I'm
if they hit a three point here, this game is

(54:28):
going to be over, right, I tell you that, Well,
they're not gonna get a three pointer because they're gonna
try to go inside. And if you were smart, you
foul lampkin. Oh they get a bucket on Arizona get
a lake. I getta get a rebound, they get a rebound.
I just I'm disgusted. Which this listen thirty seconds. That's
the one thing TCU does well is rebounding. All the

(54:50):
other stats that we mentioned, they're not playing like themselves,
you could say, but that makes it a three point
TCU lead. Were under twenty seconds left holding this ball. Yeah,
they just long. They just hit us three. Oh wow, game.
TCU is gonna hold it for the last shot, no
doubt about that. We'll see what happens, Sirrizona takes its
final time out. TCU is gonna have the ball. What

(55:14):
do you want to do here, Aretie? Do you want
to take a break. We have to take a break
for crying out. Take a break so I can see
this in peace. We're not you guys a you mean
we can't wrote up. Let's drag this out. Well, we
got time are if it ends, then we can play
the Westwood One. We got Todd Ferman coming up next

(55:34):
to Todd has no problem with come on, man, how
you do run in this setn't get a chance to
do this to you, and you're gonna try to take
this from us. No, let's go. Yeah, I don't care.
We're not playing. We got months before that comes, and
you're gonna do it anyway. We're not, So we're gonna
enjoy this right now. You know, we have a text

(55:56):
that says, Bobo so mean the old people. How do
we talk about your team like? I am very mean
to one particular old person. His name is Arnie Spaniard.
My father is older than you, Arnie, and I love
my dad and the nicest guy ever to him. Second, you, guys,
I can't do it, Yes you can. You can. Stage
You guys are well in front of my feet. Seventy

(56:17):
five seventy five, twelve point six seconds, nine seconds. It's
thirteen seconds left. It is tied. TCU does still have
one time out left. As well as needing to bring
the ball up full court, they've got plenty of time
to get it into the front court. Oh my goodness,
my heart is pounding. I can't take this. Almost think

(56:38):
about this though. It's a great sports feeling. You don't
already When was the last time you had this for
Arizona basket? Don't get it out of him. I don't
know what happened the light and I can't believe there
wasn't a fen The ball was turned over looked like

(56:59):
Arizona drove to the hoop a layup as the buzzer sounded.
Oh so it counted, So it's got to be. First
of all, I can't believe they didn't call fashion. Oh well,
I'll tell you. I'll tell you right now. If it's
gonna be a bucket, why did he try to slam?

(57:21):
No bucket? He should have shot it. If he shoots
the layup, then it leaves his hand before the before
the final, he needed to do a finger ROLLO. Okay,
now we can go to break that is now that
is a fast. Oh my gosh, that was a foul
and he should have laid it in and Arizona would

(57:43):
have won the game over time. Arizona. Todd Ferman coming
up next Sports Radio. We needed to call my lifeline,
Todd Furman, because Arnie span your is useless, right wow,
I mean not in a good way. You're watching your team.
I'm trying to help you out here. It's killing me.
They're down by one right now. There's a stoppage and

(58:04):
play because one of the kids got hit in the
nose and there's blood all over the game. And we
should be clear too, it wasn't a flop, b it
wasn't an intentional elp. No, No, it wasn't had his
hands up. Yeah, we'll tell you all about indeed, coming
up in just a bit, we'll talk about this game.
And we got our man Todd Firm and to help
us break it down live with the number one Arizona
fan on the planet, Arnie Spaniard Todd. What do you

(58:26):
make of this TCU plus ten right now? Looking pretty good? Yeah?
I mean you always want to try and end the
game inside of regulation when you're sitting on an underdog,
because the only thing that can happen when you tack
an extra five minutes on the clock is nothing but negativity.
But give the horn Frogs credit. The big twelve of
the conference top to bottom has acquitted themselves quite well,
and this would obviously be the biggest win for the
league from top to bottom if they're able to send

(58:48):
Arnie's beloved Arizona Wildcats back to two sons. I can't
have that, Todd. I just can't have that. We were
up by eight, we had this game, um and then
they had a three point lead. Todd. If this game
is killed me. We should have had that lay up
at the end if he didn't go slam dunk it,
but they could have called the foul. My emotions are
just killing me, absolutely destroying me. Thought I I thought

(59:08):
we were gonna win this game easily. I would have
laid that had no problem there. Yeah, I mean, I
don't think anything comes easy this time a year in
a TCUs credit. They're gonna play physical, They're gonna play hard,
and the one common trait that we saw fer them
throughout the course of conference play is they being the
glass as well as anybody. And for all of the
talent and athleticism that Arizona is displayed on a night
and night out, Basis Is is still a relatively inexperienced

(59:30):
roster as it pertains to tournament level experience and exposure.
Tommy Lloyd his first trip through, and Jamie Dixon, He's
got his plucky underdogs playing with absolutely nothing to lose there,
and that's what makes watching all of these games, you know,
such a great and entertaining spectacle, Todd overall, you know,
we talked about this very early in the show, um,
but I'm curious to get your perspective. How do you
feel the tournament's been We've we've seen I think a

(59:52):
good mix up underdogs and favorites that have moved on.
Some of us may have thought a little bit too
highly of Kentucky, But overall, I know what's been your
perspective on how this tournament has been played. You know,
my big takeaway all the time is it's great to
have upsets on the first two days. It's a little
bit more problematic as you fast forward to the Sweet
sixteen and you have some unfamiliar names there. While the

(01:00:12):
storylines are tremendous, viewership doesn't oftentimes reflect that. So there'll
be a couple of marquee matchups that we're looking forward
to with perennial blue bloods like U C. L A
and North Carolina. You hope Pimi Howks is available for
the Bruins in that spot. I mean, Texas Tech against
Duke should be worth its weight in gold as far
as heavy weights your concerned. And then you get games
where Perdue will be a massive favorite taking on St.

(01:00:33):
Peter's and we'll see if Cinderella Slipper continues to fit
deep into the night On Friday, I was gonna say
any good lines looking for the Sweet sixteen. And by
the way St. Peter's, I saw somebody about a thousand
dollars before the tournament to win the whole thing and
they get five hundred thousand back if they win. It's
that was probably one of the worst prices out there
on St. Peter's that they bet they would have made

(01:00:54):
more money had they bet St. Peter's on the money
line each game and tried to roll that over to
make some money. But I mean, those things make for
great storylines, and I always think it's fascinating when you know,
this stuff gets made public after a team has already
won a game or two. I never want to be
considered skeptical because I have relationships with books all over town.
But we're reaching a point where so much of the
sports journalism reporting around the gambling space. It's rock. It's

(01:01:17):
shock journalism above all else, And for me, you know,
I don't think that should be the storyline. But I'm
sure this thing will continue to circulate and inevitably will
be four or five other tickets that show up on St.
Peter's for sports books. So Todd, we're hanging out. Todd
Freman here on Fox Sports Radio. Update, guys, what's the
score of the game. Everyone's feeding seventy seven Arizona by
two two on nine. Left Arizona at the line shooting

(01:01:39):
too there you go, chancing maybe get some distance here?
What was I mean? St. Peter's is the big shock, right,
but I mean Baylor falling, surprise you, Auburn not getting
it done. Where was the other big shock or beyond St.
Peter's for Todd Ferman. You know, honestly, I don't think
Baylor or Auburn losing was all that shocking. When you
look at Baylor, I mean, they had to go into

(01:01:59):
the game without Jay cry Or. We knew the depth
was going to be a concern, and to North Carolina's credit,
they went out there, they shot the ball well from deep,
and they carried some of that momentum from the dominant
performance against Marquette into that game. I give Baylor a
world of credit, though, I mean, they battled back in
the face of adversity when they trailed by twenty five
the even force overtime. You look at Auburn, It's a
team that I think a lot of us were skeptical

(01:02:19):
of coming into the tournament, given some of their inconsistency
away from home. And while people became overly confident after
a dominant performance against Jacksonsville State, you know, the shooting
had always been one of the biggest question marks. So
when I look up and down the board, honestly, you know,
Chris Iowa State, for me, I think is one of
the more surprising stories, not given the fact of the

(01:02:39):
games that they've played, knowing that they were only five
point underdogs against Wisconsin and a five point underdog in
their opener against l s U. But this was a
team that failed to score fifty points in two out
of its last three games. T. J Alsberger deserves a
ton of credit. And if you would have told fans
in the Hawkeye State that it was going to be
the Cyclones advancing deeper in March Madness and the Hawkeyes,
I'm not sure anybody would have believed you this time

(01:03:01):
last Sunday. How are the books doing that the favorites
have been covering against the spread, right Todd, So, I
guess the books are doing well. You know, the books
said they've done well. One of the biggest decisions, of course,
was St. Peter's beating Kentucky outright. That gave them, uh,
they basically you know what they needed to blow up
every money line, parley and exotic wager that was out there.
Kentucky was also one of the trend of your picks, uh,

(01:03:21):
to make a deep run, you know, not only to
win their region, but to cut down the nets potentially
in New Orleans. When you go through some of the
other games that created problems for the books, I mean
today's results Villanova not ideal, as the house was rooting
for the underdog there. They actually fared quite well in
the Houston Illinois game. That game opened four and a
half and you saw a ton of support coming on
the fighting a line with that number close to three.
But interested to see when books report for the weekend

(01:03:43):
as a whole, exactly how the thing's performed. All right, Todd,
couple more we'll get you out of here. First, on
the football side of things, what did Deshaun Watson going
to Cleveland do for you? As far as futures and
thoughts on where Cleveland's number over on a wind total
expectations for them. I feel like it's tough because we
just don't know what his punishment's going to be, right, Yeah,

(01:04:04):
that's the big question. I mean, honestly, when you look
at it, you have to imagine that the NFL is
going to suspend Watson. It's a question of length. Will
it be four games, will it be six games? And
how far will Cleveland be behind the A ball if
they struggle out of the gates, Because when you look
at the balance of power and the way free agency
has gone, it has been a mass exodus of talent
and difference making talent from the NFC migrating over to
the a f C. It's not quite the NFL A

(01:04:27):
f L days, but it's looking a lot like that,
with the quarterback play being significantly more reliable up and
down the a f C board than what we'll see
when things kick off in the NFC. Todd will Colin
Kaepernick be on the roster started opening day? I would
be surprised if if he was out there. Now. There
are plenty of teams that are quarterback needy, so there
may be a chance that they pick up the phone, uh,

(01:04:47):
and decide to call Cap to see if they want
to bring him in for practice. But I think the
bigger question, Orny that we're looking at as far as
quarterback movement. Who will be the man under center for
the Indianapolis Colts when they go to camp in late July.
And will Baker Mayfield find himself on a team with
a track to actually be a starting quarterback again next season.
That's probably the biggest name I see lingering out there
right now. If you assume that Jamis Winston is more

(01:05:08):
or less a formality to resign with New Orleans A right, Uh, Todd,
you're the man. Always appreciate it. Check out the bet
the Board podcast at Todd Ferman on Twitter and we'll
talk to you again next week. See if you're good luck.
Since you've come on Arizona Starr, Todd, we should keep
you on the rest of the night. I don't know
if Arnie wants to let you go, but I know
you gotta work, so we appreciate it. Man, Hey, no problem,
and make sure Chris said you guys keep a steady

(01:05:29):
doses annex and valium flowing into Arnie Fletcher. And because
he will be insufferable if this game pans out, though
I know the way he's hoping it will you. Thanks, Thanks,
Todd Ferman. We get to hang out with Todd every
single Sunday night here on Fox Sports Radio. Can can
someone tell Pac twelve guy there's delays. You can quit
live tweeting it to us here. We're seeing it before

(01:05:49):
you are. It's just there's so many layers of delays right,
not not to get to in depth here as we
have a time out with what about fifty six seconds left?
Um am I on with you. Arizona missed the foul
shot and what the what's the foul shooting? It seems
like Arizona has missed a couple of crucial foul shots lately.
Arizona on the game so far eighteen of twenty five

(01:06:11):
from the free throw t c U twenty two of thirty.
But there's all these different layers of delay, so we're
it sounds delayed, but we're right on it. No worries man,
and you know who else is right on it. Steve
Disager a little bit behind, but Disager has got it's
caught up on everything, including this incredible game. It has
been incredible. This is the game that ends the second

(01:06:32):
round of the n c A A Tournament. Arizona up
eight three eight in overtime, just under a minute to
play in the O t each team with one time
out left t see you with the ball, guys. This
is already the sixth overtime game this week in the
n ci A Tournament. The record is seven for an
entire tournament, most recently in Only two guys are really

(01:06:53):
doing anything tonight for Arizona, and they've been great, including
the Pact twelve Player of the Year Ben math Through
and he's up to thirty points and eight rebounds and
Christian Coloko twenty six points eleven rebounds. Meanwhile, for TCU,
they've had two players foul out, not a single field
goal from the bench of TCU. The benches oh for
three from the game. Matter in with a rebound now

(01:07:17):
and Arizona's got the ball and a three point lead
with about twenty seconds left in O t Can I
say it out loud? Are any things looking great for
the wild And of course matter and misses all the
put back Arizona, But it's gonna be offensive. That gonna
been offensive interference. By the way, I want you to

(01:07:38):
know that they've been one of the worst officiated games
I've ever watched. Arizona gonna win now, that's not possible
because you can't have pack twelve refs doing a pack
twelve game. So it's true. Anyway, five eight Arizona in
the league, nine and a half seconds remaining in overtime.

(01:07:58):
It's looking great. Were the one seed in the South
Region to go to San Antonio and face Houston in
the Sweet sixteen Thursday. That'll be the late game on Thursday.
Houston over Illinois today to start the day, sixty eight
to fifty three All American center Kofe Coburn of the
Alini nineteen points. He got precious little help from the

(01:08:19):
rest of the squad. Villanova down to Ohio State seventy
one sixty one. Villanova plays Michigan in the Sweet sixteen
Thursday night. Perdue eliminated Texas this evening. Seventy one Perdue
play St. Peter's in the Sweet sixteen Friday night in Philadelphia, which,
as we mentioned, is not that far from St. Peter's
New Jersey. Auburn's out Wisconsin's out in Milwaukee. Wisconsin was

(01:08:43):
beaten by Iowa State fifty four to forty nine. Miami
upset two seed Auburn seventy nine to sixty one, Texas
Tech beat Notre Dame fifty nine fifty three, and it's
a final Arizona in over time. The top seeds serve
five and advanced Arizona TCU eight. We should have our

(01:09:07):
heads down, is what we should walk off the court,
all mad, you sound like a booster. Meanwhile, Duke's still
in the tournament. They were down five with five minutes
left and then allowed Michigan State just six points in
the last five minutes, had a couple of key blocks
and a steal. Duke wins five seventy six. So the
second round is officially over now. And we have this note,
by the way, from the Big Twelve Conference that Kansas

(01:09:29):
State has a new head coach, longtime Baylor assistant Jerome Tang,
who's been on the bench at Baylor since Scott Drew
took over almost twenty years ago. He takes over for
Bruce Weber, who had resigned at Kansas State. That's right
where he was before he went to Arizona. And it's
looking like Willard from Seaton Hall is leaving as they

(01:09:50):
just got eliminated recently. Of course, Baylor is out as
of yesterday, so the second round is done. Overtime win
for Arizona. My goodness, this was a great came and
I it's always good when your team wins and advances. Breathe,
I love it. Infielder Trevor Story gets a six year
contract from the Red Sox, and NASCAR was in Atlanta

(01:10:10):
William Buyer in the victory, third career Cup Series win.
Ross Chas Stain finished second. Kurt Bush, who was third.
NASCAR's on Fox TV again next Sunday from Austin, Texas.

feel so good now, it's like weight off my back. Unbelievable.

(01:10:55):
So you're feeling good about Houston next week. Oh, we'll
crush them. You had three seven footers and barely outrebounded
TC tonight. Yeah, yeah, we'll crush Houston. We it will
be paid. I wanted to crush Illinois because of what
they did to us many years ago. But what Houston
will do, that'll be fine. That's funny that you think
that any of those guys were alive. What about good

(01:11:17):
pitching beats good hit a That's usually the case in sports,
right that the defense comes through Everybody, including Arnie loved
the Peyton Manning offense when Denver went to that Super Bowl,
but that was when Seattle had the great defense. Arizona's
offense averages eighty five points per game. Houston allows fifty
nine points per game. Arizona gotta come back on they

(01:11:38):
play on a Thursday. Sna happen. I told you when
I gave you the time, immediately's come. Well, you know,
quick turnaround, short notice. Gotta be tough. And by the way,
the Houston Cougars literally number one in the whole country
in field goal percentage defense, better than seven opponents on
average shooting only thirty seven percent against Houston. We call

(01:11:59):
my old buddy Covins Sampson until so Arizona is not
scoring in that game. I think he knows me because
he gave me tickets to the game to go see
uh Oklahoma in Arizona. Who's that Calvin Samson now the
Houston coach? Yeah, I don't think he knows you tickets.
I don't believe you he did it. Why would the

(01:12:21):
coach of Oklahoma given Arizona fan tickets to the game?
Because I need he did? He was? He doesn't was
a listener to me to the show. I'm gonna I
don't believe you. I think you're making the story. Let's
find out, Kelvin Samson, did you ever give Arnie span
your tickets? Because it's starting to get to the point
where Arnie's wives tales are starting to grow to a
degree that I don't know in this win for me?

(01:12:44):
And then he'll either say who or new phone? Who
did right? Exactly right? He won't know me? All right?
You ready? Fox Sports Radio brackets standings currently in first place.
Bernie Fratto, Wait is it updated? Hold on me refresh? Um?
I don't know if it's fully updated. Oh are you
questioning technology right now, right now, and has I have

(01:13:07):
forty two points and Arizona just one? Let me see
if they credited the Arizona win yet. I don't think
it's gonna be that big of a difference with Arizona
moving on for most people, I think a majority. I
don't think anyone had him losing at that point. Right now.
You made me refreshing. I completely lost my leaderboard. I
have no idea how to well. I do Bertie Frado

(01:13:27):
has forty seven, Chris Bissard forty five, and then Chris
Plank and Zack Quinn with forty three. Yeah, and me
and Jason Smith with forty two. But I go up
to forty. You have Arizona. Whenning do I take it? Yeah?
I think everyone. But but you're you have two of
your final four already out. One in my final four
already out. You had Kentucky and um Auburn had Auburn

(01:13:51):
in the final four. Are you sure about that? I'm
looking out. I know how to read, well, I don't know.
I don't know if I put Auburn in the final
four or not. Reading is a prerequisite for the job.
So I saw that I had eighties six different brackets
that I did this year, so I didn't know which
one I put the Yeah, but I still have Villanova lives.
That's all that matters to me. Do you want me
to tease this or do you want me to do

(01:14:12):
this now? Well, it's eleven leven forty two Central. Time
you buy things out to get someone fired? No, no, no,
I just got a text from our boss from who.
I don't know what you said, Scott Shapiro, Right go ahead.
Are you wanting to read it now? It says I'm
not sure how you held it together on the air. Wow,

(01:14:34):
I don't think you held it together on the air. No,
I didn't. You must not have been listening. I listen.
I love my boss, he's the best. But I don't
think you held it together on the air very well

to Seger went a little long in our last segment,

(01:15:38):
but he caught up on every Well, let's listen to
the highlights because that was a thriller to finish the
second round of the n c A Tournament. Top seed
in the South Region, Arizona advances. They'll be in San
Antonio to play Houston. That's the late game Thursday night
in the Sweet sixteen. Arizona beats TCU in overtime in
San Diego Tonight eight. This was the finish at the

(01:16:02):
end of regulation and the craziness at mid court. This
is the TBS call with Lisa Byington tc you can
take the foul shot. Miles two call the dunk came
just after the second half buzzer, so they went to overtime.

(01:16:25):
And this is, by the way, how it sounded on
Westwood One radio at the end of regulation when the
game stayed tied, Dave pass with the call. It teamed
about forty five ft away five seconds left. Miles are
he gets pumped the ball? This loose, no call? Lock
it off? Say no good. They should have called the foul.

(01:16:47):
The guy was steam steamrolled. I mean there was a bump.
They call a foul there. He goes to the line
with like four seconds left or something. Instead, no foul
called at mid court, just as there was no foul
called on the math room dunked us. Before that, things
just kept going. Finally, late in ot for Arizona, Colco

(01:17:13):
I mentioned only two guys did anything for Arizona, and
they completely dominated. That included Christian Colloco. He had a
great item from College Basketball Reference. He had one of
those rare n c A Tournament games with not only
at least twenty eight points ten rebounds, but no more
than one miss shot in the entire game. In the
last thirty years, only Blake Griffin had done that until

(01:17:36):
Colloco tonight, Back in the nineteen seventies, both Magic Johnson
and Bill Walton had n ci A tournament games like
that Jerry Lucas nineteen sixty one and now Coloco's on
that list. He finished with twenty eight points, twelve rebounds,
and was twelve of thirteen from the song the St.

(01:17:57):
Peter's Upset. Thursday Night of Kentucky Let's Go was the
highest rated TV show of Thursday Night. It would got
a greater number than even Law and Order or anything
else on any channel Thursday night. It was almost five
and a half million viewers. And keep in mind there
were three other games going on on cable at the
same time, and still that one game for CBS almost

(01:18:19):
five and a half mill. If you add up the
other ones from cable, it was almost eleven million watching
Mars Madness in that window on Thursday night. Compare that
to the NBA, which did you notice did not have
a game opposite March last night the previous Saturday that
even with a Golden State game, which usually gets great ratings,

(01:18:39):
they were under three million the previous Saturday night. It's
nothing like the bad ratings that the NHL has been getting.
Maybe you know, maybe you don't like most of the country.
You know that t NT has NHL games this year.
TNT had an outdoor NHL game last weekend, one of
those special regular season games. It was as CFL Stadium

(01:18:59):
with buff Flow against Toronto, and last Sunday it was
under three hundred fifty thousand viewers on t N not
eleven million. It was under three hundred fifty. Meanwhile, the
NASCAR on Fox ratings continue to be good. It was
four million for the race last weekend from Phoenix. I
don't know what they'll get today. It was opposite March Madness,

(01:19:20):
but they've been doing very well early season. Today was
in Atlanta with William Byron winning and there were forty
six lead changes. Twenty eight of the thirty seven cars
that started the race were involved in collisions. As far
as the Wildcats with this overtime win, there now what
thirty three and three on the season. The team the
team they're facing Houston is thirty one and five. And

(01:19:41):
the Cougars did make it to the Final four last year,
and they did shut down Illinois today except for the
All American center Kofe Coburn. He had nineteen points, but
the rest of the Illinois team shot twenty eight percent
from the floor. I can't say it again loud enough.
Houston is the best team in the country field goal percentage, defense.

(01:20:02):
It's gonna be fun Houston and Arizona next Thursday night.
Congrats to the Wildcats. All right, great stuff, Steve, when
we come back our three Artie's got five things that
would get you fired as a Fox Sports radio host,
and all of your tweets, which are rolling in a
lot of NFL talk to coming up next with Arnie
and Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio. I do

(01:20:26):
like the fact that Arnie went from nervous quitting on
his team fan overconfident. They're destroying Houston. We'll take it.
We're important and half favorite. That's all we need to be.
We're good at we'll destroy them. But the whole time
after the game, we're back to lose. What do we
have nothing? I have no problem still bashing you whatsoever. Hey,

(01:20:48):
by the way, Pike, I saw this on Twitter, just
just a quick left turn. Of course, it's your show.
Dodger payroll for next year for the upcoming year two
two D seventy four million to seventy four point two
Baltimore Orioles payroll. You want to take a guess, Oh gosh,
is it even over a hundred million? Thirty million? Is

(01:21:12):
that possible? Is that even possible? I don't even know.
It's not possible. Wait wait, wait, it's a one hundred
and ninety million dollar difference, no more than that. Yeah,
if it's two forty million dollars, what's it? I think
said Dodgers are two twenty Dodgers to seventy four. Yeah,

(01:21:35):
it's okay? To what? How was that even possible? I
don't know. Somebody put that out on Twitter? Do you
say somebody was sports? Stay in Cark sports? All right?
I just I want to make sure it's not like, uh,
dude with one follower that I don't think has his
first name A numbers behind him. Well, doesn't always mean

(01:21:57):
they ride, aren'tie, don't you pay attention to politics? But
that does seem that does seem right in line with
for thirty million. I just that can't be possible. There's
no way. And I'll tell you what. The funny thing
about it is. I feel like the Dodgers need to
add a little bit more. I don't know why. I'm

(01:22:19):
just I don't trust May right now coming off his injury.
I don't know what Kershaw has. I'm just I'm looking
at I'm like, okay, this is fun Freddie Freeman at first,
you know, see the youngsters. But these baseball movies should
be getting a lot more talk. But there's so much
going on in the NFL. Well, you, first of all,
you've got March Madness, which basically and it's think about

(01:22:44):
this field of sixty eight announced last Sunday. What did
you and Willard end up talking about more the tournament
or Tom Brady coming back? Oh, Tom Brady. I don't
remember the timeline when Brady retired. That was on a
I felt like Rady announced that he had unretired either
right before or right after the field and it was right.

(01:23:04):
It was it was like right before I got on
the air. So yeah, right before I got So you
had Brady's announcement on Thursday, the first day, and I
get it. You have to playing games on sorry, they're
not even playing games because you're in the first four
on Tuesday and Wednesday, So view that as you want.
But the the Thursday, the first full day of the

(01:23:26):
n c A tournament, Davante Adams straight to the Raiders
on Friday. You you think on Friday, on Friday, the
second full day of the n c A A tournament,
you have the Shawn Watson who was apparently out the
door to Atlanta and then out the door to Cleveland.
I mean, thankfully the NFL kind of slowed down a

(01:23:48):
little bit on Saturday or Sunday, but man, it's been
a fight for the n c A tournay the I
didn't know this until later on that what the first
year of the Shawn Watson's contract is like a million dollars?
Is that what it is? Danny was all for that,
all over it, and that, like I said, I had
retweeted at Mitchell Schwartz. Uh. I don't even know if
I would call it a rant by any stretch of

(01:24:09):
the imagination, but he was. He was speaking some truth
about just I guess maybe the best way to say
it is the overall frustration with with it. Here was
a tweet already too real quickly from yesterday. He said,
the Watson trade and contracts still doesn't feel right to me.
Do we have any clarity on the twenty two lawsuits
against him? Uh? He brought from from what I've seen

(01:24:30):
by other writers like Lindsay Jones has mentioned in The
Kimes the grand jury not indictment doesn't mean much and
surely doesn't absolve him. And then he added the one
million dollar based salary. The first year feels slimy and wrong.
And look, I follow contracts. I understand that most deals
have a big signing bonus and relatively low based salary.

(01:24:50):
The first year mine did this feels purposeful. He got
paid millions last year to not play as well. There's
there's a lot to this, if you guys want to
dig into it, ad Mitchell Swartz seventy one. But I
think that's right in line with what you're saying, aren't
that first year is like it is that that's probably
one of the reasons that swayed him to go to Cleveland,
besides the fact that the whole thing is guaranteed. Um,

(01:25:13):
you know what, what what? What type of decision did
he have? Really nothing? He's like, Hey, might as well
go to Cleveland and get all that money out there,
and it's all guaranteed for him for the liking out there.
I'm just wondering how this is going to work out
play out now with the civil lawsuits, um and And
by the way, can you suspend somebody if they've done
nothing criminal? And before you tell me, uh wait, before

(01:25:36):
you tell me about what's his face with the betting
on games? Right? Well, I was gonna tell you about
Ben Roethlisberger, but go ahead. Well, I mean, how many
games he's done nothing criminal? Is my point? Right? So
are you talking about Calvin Ridley? Yeah, I'm talking about
DeShawn Watson. Now how many games are you going to
suspend him? If he's done nothing criminal? This is my point?

(01:25:58):
How many games have been Affelisberger get when he wasn't charged?
Do you remember anyone happen out? How many games did
ray Rice get right? Right? And I think they ended
up getting it down to three whenever all was said
and done. You know, It's Here's the thing. Everyone keeps
telling me they've done their due diligence on this, right.

(01:26:20):
All I can do is believe them, right. But at
the same vein it seems odd that the lawyer wasn't
contacted that's in charge of this case. And yes, I
get it, he comes across as and I don't know
if this is a derogatory term or not, but an
ambulance chaser that's what they call attorneys. It always seemed
to be trying to find the same thing over and over.
But I mean, listen, I get it that there's gonna

(01:26:44):
be some people that look at it and would say, oh,
it seems like you're trying to create a case against
the Shawn Watson. No, I didn't have to. You could
be the greasiest, slimiest attorney on the planet. But to
find twenty two people with essentially the same story, now,
there might not be enough belief to go for criminal charges.
But I mean big Ben was six and got cut

(01:27:04):
to four things, Danny, But I mean, at the very least, Artie,
that's a lot of people who tend to be telling
the exact same story. Right now, I get, and I
get everyone's doing their due diligence. But to me, the
NFL has to look at that and really dig a
little bit deeper. Because Ben didn't get charged. You got
four games, Ray Rice never got charged, Cream Hunt never

(01:27:26):
got charged. I mean, you you got guys that help.
They set Trell Prior out because he got tattoos whenever
he was in college. There's a difference, um in punishment.
When somebody said you're you've done nothing criminal. Um, then
you have to consider it being less than six games, Chris,
at least in my opinion, you do. I. I mean, look,
I'm not certainly nobody is proud of these twenty two

(01:27:49):
civil lesters that are coming. But you have to think
of less than six games, if if criminal, And let
me go on both sides, because I don't disagree with
you aren't and playing on Fox Sports Radio got more
march mat is coming up after the Sweet sixteen was set.
Let's talk to Shaun Watson. Let me give you both
sides of it and tell me which way you go. Okay, Um,
the NFL looks at it as time served and he's

(01:28:11):
not out a single game this year served because he
was being u horses backside, didn't want to play and
play that money, didn't try to play set out the
whole season. I don't know if the players Association would
get us back on that, but go ahead, Bubba, I
just I I don't know. Here's what you feel about you.
You say something a second ago that the lawyer found

(01:28:33):
twenty two women that or twenty women wherever the case
may be, that all have the exact same story. Is
it not possible that he found the twenty women that
DeShawn Watson had sex with that literally he hit on
the same way. That's a that's really possible. Like he
could have had a thing where he hit these massahs
therapists up and was like, hey, like how about happy ending?

(01:28:57):
Like you know what I mean, Like, I mean, let's
be real like and then they was like the lawyer
comes to him like, look, you can make four hundred
or five hundred thousand dollars off of saying that this
guy went to court. It's not gonna make it that
far because he's gonna try to pay you off. Will
never go to court exactly. But it ended up going
to court, and now those women don't have anything. That's

(01:29:20):
why a lot of the times in these cases, I'm
not saying that it didn't happen. I wasn't there. I'm
not know. But that's why you don't get a lot
of names. You get a lot of Jane Doe because
they don't want to hurt their image, but they're going
to hurt the other person. We weren't there, but we
have to go ahead by the law that he has
not done anything exactly. I mean, people can say, well,
oh Jay and you know they said that, you know

(01:29:42):
he didn't, but you know what, don't you You you
have to go by what the law says. I couldnot hear.
What do you think would happen to me if I said,
come on, you know he's guilty blah blah blah. Um No,
you can't do that when the laws. I think, let's
let's like they said he was guilty, but we didn't
read him as rights or something like that, and he

(01:30:02):
got off of the technicality. It doesn't work that way.
When when when they say he's not, you know, nothing criminal,
you have to go by that. I have to say,
for me, a punishment for him, he already set out
a whole season. He already did. But was he paid
last season? The answer is yes, which means choosing too Yes.
But the answer with that is you weren't suspended technically.

(01:30:25):
You set out a season because you felt like it
was going to be a distraction or whatever the case
may be. So you're coming back missing a couple of
games from suspension from what happened, Like you just said,
all these other cases of NFL players being suspended for
things that they did that they were proved that it
came back in court that they didn't do, but the
NFL still punished them. There's going to be a punishment

(01:30:46):
that comes down on Deshaun Watson and it's just a
matter of how many games it's gonna be. And and
by the way, are you, as the NFL going to
talk to the twenty two young women and and you know,
get their side of this, or are they're gonna hand
their uh hand out a punishment not talking to the women.
I'm curious about that. Also, well, let me give you
my other side. What if you decide six games? All right? Now,

(01:31:09):
let's just say, and they're gonna fight to get it
down to four, right, because that how that's how this goes.
And I agree with Bubba that you can't really say
time served when you're getting paid and you're choosing to
sit out. But Arnie, what happens then if these payouts
and they start winning these civil cases? Does that matter
than at all for the NFL because you can say, well,

(01:31:29):
you know, there weren't criminal charges, but if we're seeing
him millions to hundreds of thousands to each of these people,
I mean, does that not raise the red flag and
have the NFL say, well, we got more work to do. Yes,
but you know what, I don't settle the first civil
lawsuit until after the season starts. But I mean it's
it's not like they're magically gonna forget about it. No,

(01:31:51):
But that way, you have to handle that in the
punishment before then. So the NFL is gonna have to
They're not gonna see if the civil lawsuits are settled
or not. They've got to give me the punishment then
I start settling the civil lawsuits. You understand what I'm saying, Yeah, yeah,
I do. But I feel like you're trying like a
little bait and switch here. It's like, okay, how much
how much you just? You just when you backed me

(01:32:12):
in a quarter by saying what's the NFL gonna do
when they when they see all these civil lawsuits being settled,
meaning that what are they going to spend them for
the maximum? I'm like, well, you know what, I'm not
gonna settle at the lawsuits then until I know the
season is gonna start, so they can't suspend me right away.
But again, you don't think. I mean, we have news
and if they suspend it's gonna be six games. Then

(01:32:33):
it's gonna be less than six games aren't okay, I'm
gonna try to make sense of this. You pretend like
once they suspend him that they might not have more
evidence come up that would lead them to believe that
they might need to add more to it. No, no, no, no, no,
that's like a double jeopardy thing. What you said? What

(01:32:53):
do you say? You're getting six games? You get six games?
You could reduce it, but you're not gonna add odd
you can't do that? Well, where's that in the rule book?
Show me? I've never I've never heard that. I've never
heard of that that ever happened. Well, it's kind of
funny because the NFL stubbed itself and had let ray
Rice go and then suddenly suspended when they get the video.
What if we start having video evidence, because no one

(01:33:14):
really believes anything unless they see it. Look at Joe Mixon,
for goodness sakes. No, there's people right now that would
fight us in our mentions right now, especially Cleveland fans.
He get suspended, see any charges? What's that He didn't
get suspended coming into the NFL? Did he? But I
know what? No, he sit out a whole year in college.
But Bob Stoops even said when the video came out,

(01:33:35):
He's like, I would not have played him right, And
I think Bob saw it, and I think in as
time went on, he realized giving a guy second chance
once in the right thing. Now. Listen, Joe Mixon is
a great kid and he started his life around. But
let me, I'm telling you, Arnie, this could end up
really biting the NFL. They're like, all right, six games
and suddenly more information starts to come out. That's that's
my point, because this seems to be very fluid. And

(01:33:57):
just because the grand jury said we're not pursuing charges
doesn't mean it's over. No. But when the grand jury
says you've done nothing criminal, um, you have to go
ahead and make your base your punishment based on that
that news alone, right now, right now. But what's the
rush right now? The season? I mean, you gotta do
it before this What are you gonna sup moost nothing settled? Um,

(01:34:20):
And you're getting ready for week number one? The NFL
is going to spend them in the middle of the season.
I don't see that happening. Well, again, you're asking for
like an immediate answer in March in something that Again
the NFL AF Theoris one thing they haven't been in
with the Shawn Watson situation is a rush. They waited

(01:34:41):
a whole year Arnie, and they did it with Alden Smith.
They let Aldon Smith played two games a couple of
years ago and then said, well, you're done for the season.
I mean, don't put it past that. The NFL might say, hey,
we're still investigating. We'll let you play while will investigate,
but then boom that hammer can drop three or four
games into the season. They're not going to be on

(01:35:03):
the Browns timeline. That's it. I mean, the NFL is
it on a team's timeline. By the way, who is
exactly handing down the punishment I would assume is Burton
Hank still in charge of the discipline in the NFL.
I'm assuming it's okay if you want to play that.
I assume it's gonna be Jerry Jones behind closed doors.
But you don't think You don't think the owners get

(01:35:27):
a hold of the commission and saying, let me tell
you what you're gonna give this this guy, and what
you're gonna do to the Cleveland browds. You don't think
they're gonna throw crazy? Why would Jerry Jones care because
well they a lot of the owners care a lot
of a matter of fact, some owners Robert Crafts defence
and some owners were against Robert Kraft. I mean their
owners are thrown there two cents that you don't think

(01:35:47):
the owners are calling you Goodell and say this is
what you're gonna do, and you better do it this way.
Oh you better remember Jerry got mad at Goodell one
time because he didn't do what he wanted. Yeah, and
get Dell won the power struggle. I mean, listen, I
I understand you, and I and I get it. But
I guess maybe, Mike, are you just using Jerry Jones

(01:36:08):
as as an example. I don't know who has a
problem with Cleveland or or whatnot that I'd have to
find out, but you better believe that there'll be some
owners um chiming in about what the punishment. Yeah, no,
I don't doubt at all. But listen, I got a
lot of tweets to catch up on and we're gonna
start doing it next. But I'm curious, Brown's fan, You've
had the seventy two hours, now, how are we feeling?

(01:36:30):
Where are we on this? Hit us up on Twitter?

a forty eight inch MU Sonic HDTV. Thank you to
the Sonic. Now here's the question. Would you take an
Arizona championship and finishing dead last in the bracket without
any paces about? Yes? So what I can? I can?
I correct myself real quick? I'm sorry when weself? Yeah, Well,

(01:37:37):
I I had had some insight uh news, and I
went on the air with it um because I you know,
I thought my source was correct. Okay, it was CBS Television,
by the way, don't I hate to give up my source. Um,
when I said thoughts and prayers to Pete Gillen who
passed away, because I because I heard Rex Chopping say that,

(01:37:59):
so I that I didn't know he had passed away.
I thought he was still alive. So but if Rext
is gonna say and consider me that Pete works for CBS,
he probably do better than anybody but the lower bold
he is still alive. So how about that? I just
what a clown? What a clown? Did you see that,
Mike or what? Just because people put funny videos on
the internet that have been on the Internet for two

(01:38:21):
years doesn't mean they're gonna be good on TV. He's horrible.
He's already there's already too many people on that desk.
He's I don't know what we're doing. He's and I'm sorry.
He is terrible. I mean, seriously, I could have done
a double the job better than than what he's doing
right now. At least, and by the way, he like

(01:38:41):
mumbles sometimes and he talks real low and um, he's
just not prepared for this at all. I have a personality.
At least if you don't know nothing that you ever
been watching anything, and you're gonna make mistakes. At least
say it loud so people can hear it. I mean,
you're you're mumbling for crying out loud. That's what it
sounds like. Tony talks and then he tried, like he

(01:39:03):
tries to make a joke every now and then, and
it's like, what what do you say? And then he's
got to repeat it, and you're like, it's just I
wonder what the other people think of him. They've got
a great group of people. What do you know. I
love whenever they have Charles Barkley and Kinney Smith and
they throw Clark Kellogg in there. I think that's great.
And Ernie Johnson and I like that. I guess they

(01:39:26):
call you know, I don't want to say the secondary crew,
but that I like them. But for some reason, it's
just go go don't repurpose your tweets, man, Go go
put the videos on there that have been on the
internet forever. I don't know. You're you're looking for a
college basketball ducks. Great, well, Duck's doing all the radio stuff. Dude,

(01:39:46):
did you happen, By the way, this is funny. I
don't know if Gottlieb talked about this, but when was
the St the St. Peter's Kentucky game. That was Friday, right,
I think that was Friday. It was start said okay,
thank you. On Thursday night, I was and I was
listening to Dog and Doug was doing the Westwood One
stuff and he and Jason horrow Witz in the studio asked.

(01:40:10):
Someone asked Doug about this. They're playing the Kentucky St.
Peter's games. I can take you to Kentucky St. Peter's
final seconds. It's St. Peter's Kentucky, asked the basketball and regulation, right,
It's like coming down to the wire, Kentucky brings it
across half court here and the announcer goes here we go.
It cut to a commercial. It cut to a commercial

(01:40:30):
right in the middle of it, and it wasn't one
of those where it took like two seconds to fix it, Artie.
It cut to a commercial and then it went for
a little bit right, And I'm so I'm losing my
mind because I have Kentucky playing in the National Championship
game because Oscar Shebay and he was pretty good against St.

(01:40:52):
Peter's and literally they come back and when they come back,
you could tell Jason is like, oh, we have technical difficulties,
and there was back to the game. And also they
go to the game, it's like, oh, you missed a shot,
Like what just happened? It was great? And again technical
difficulties happened. It's happened to us, It'll happen to us again.
But as far as timing is concerned, it doesn't get

(01:41:15):
much worse than that. But St. Peter's is the story
of this tournament right onto the Sweet sixteen, but only
one quick thing before we hit Twitter after the Saga's update.
I just feel like this is kind of shaping up
to where we can clearly see what the Elite eight
is gonna look like. Right, you're gonna have Houston versus
Nova Kansas, what you have Arizona Versusanova, Kansas likely versus

(01:41:42):
Miami because Iowa State can't handle those four guards from Miami.
Perdu versus U c l A. And the only game
that I really look at him like, I don't know
what's gonna happen here might be Texas Tech versus Duke.
My my buddy told me before the tournament started, Arizona
and U c L A in the final four. He's
a pack twave. Homer Arizona and U c l A

(01:42:03):
can't play each other in the final Foyd be for
the national championship, but they would both make it to
the final four. Oh, I see what you're saying. I
thought they could. They could. I'll tell you what the
you know who I like? I like Gnova. I better
getting over. I'm really gonna tumble quickly in our Fox
Sports Radio brackets, that's for sure. But again start times.
Disagre's got them all coming up. But Thursday gets underweight

(01:42:24):
six o'clock with Gonzaga Arkansas. The other Thursday game Kansas
in Providence. And speaking of Steve Disager, before we hit
all your tweets one final time tonight, here he is
with an update on a busy Sunday in March. Madness
taken away Steve and some things to wrap up before
we get to the college hoops. But you mentioned Villanova.
There are three fifty or so college basketball teams. Villanova's

(01:42:48):
free throw percentage is literally number one out of anybody
in the country, and they're on pace to set the
n c double A record eight two percent free throwing
as a team. So keep that in mind if Bill
Nova needs to shoot free throws down near the end. Meanwhile,
Arizona's opponent tonight TC you bat at the line this year,
and Arizona's next opponent Houston, for all the great defense,

(01:43:11):
apparently that defense is against their own foul shots because
they're also one of the worst free throw shooting teams.
You mentioned free throw shooting earlier in the show, because
Texas committed about thirty fouls tonight and lost to Purdue
Perdue in a forty minute game. Shot forty six free
throws this evening. It's not the n c A tournament record,
In fact, not close. Arizona holds the record yet against

(01:43:32):
Sports Reference comes through from about twenty years ago when
Arizona actually beat Illinois in a regional final. That game,
Arizona attempted fifty six free throws. That was two thousand one,
and that is still the n c A A tournament record.
Uh William Byron was the NASCAR winner at Atlanta. The
update on the obscene amounts of money won in golf

(01:43:55):
Sam Burns, You know Sam Burns. He won the Valspar
Championship in playoff. The victory does move him up to
number ten in the world for the first time. It
knocks Dustin Johnson out of the top ten for the
first time in seven years. But for one weekend of
golf one point four million dollars. Even a tie for

(01:44:16):
sixteenth place earned close to a hundred twenty thousand dollars
for four days of golf, slightly larger money in baseball
for Trevor Story, the infielder gets a six year deal
from the Red Sox with an opt out after four.
He'll move from shortstop to second base in Boston. And
among the exhibition games today, the Cleveland Guardians tied nine

(01:44:36):
nine with Oakland. Get used to the nickname, And you
were talking about low salary teams. What's Oakland gonna have
left on their roster? As soon as that union contract
was signed with the players, it's been a fire sale
in the East Bay. How'd you like to be the
new manager taken over there? Baseball's opening day is Thursday,
April seventh. Did you see this past week that they've

(01:44:57):
extended the regular season a bit since it's starting eight Yes,
they're adding some doubleheaders in this year to try and
make up some games, but baseball is not gonna end
on a weekend. This season, it's gonna end on Wednesday,
October five, and with the expanded playoffs now, the Athletics
says the World Series might not start until the last
Friday of October. So keep that in mind and go

(01:45:19):
to November. Let's do it, please, Yeah, Mr November, Derek Jeter, Yeah,
there you go. You remember the clock struck midnight. Available
NFL free agents include Oudell Beckham and Tehron Matthew. The
Browns formally announced that they have traded for Deshaun Watson.
The Bengal sign tackle Lyle Collins from Dallas. Seattle resigned
running back Rashad Penny to a one year deal in

(01:45:40):
the l A. Chargers signed tight end at Gerald Everett.
Now Arizona one seed in the South Region, somehow survived
to win an overtime against TCU tonight, a thriller of
a finale to the second round of the n c
A Tournament, and ot the final Ben Mathrow in thirty
points in San Diego. Next up, they'll play Houston in
San Antonio. That's in the sweet sixteen. The late game

(01:46:03):
on Thursday, Houston eliminated Illinois sixty eight to fifty three.
Ohio State still hasn't made it out of the second
round in almost a decade. Villanova beat Ohio State today
seventy one sixty one, and yes, Villanova was good on
free throw seventeen of twenty. So Thursday night in San Antonio,
seven pm Eastern time, Villanova plays Michigan in the Sweet sixteen.

(01:46:24):
The St. Peter's game is against Perdue this week. Perdue
eliminated Texas one seventy one Friday in Philadelphia, seven pm
Eastern time. I keep mentioning that because that's less than
a hundred miles from St. Peter's campus in New Jersey.
Also in Philly, on Friday night, North Carolina versus u
c l A. Wisconsin's out Auburn's out in the Midwest Region.

(01:46:46):
Wisconsin in Milwaukee lost to Iowa State fifty four forty nine,
a team that was winless in the Pig twelfth Conference
is still live in this tournament. The Badgers from three
point range two of twenty two. Wisconsin had the fewest
andovers in the country this season. They had seventeen turnovers
tonight and they're out. So the late game on Friday.
Iowa stayed against Miami. Also Friday in Chicago, Kansas firsts

(01:47:11):
Providence seven pm Eastern Time. Seven. As for the West Region,
Duke still alive and they're going to San Francisco Thursday.
Duke against Texas Tech, which beat Notre Dame fifty nine
fifty three. The Irish shot only thirty three percent from
the floor. Texas Tech only allows sixty points a game,
so that'll be quite a battle with Duke. Red Raiders

(01:47:31):
had a nine one run to end the game against
the Irish. Duke was trailing by five with five minutes
left and then allowed Michigan State just six points in
the last five minutes beat him eighty five seventy six.
So for coach K's not retired yet nine n c
A Tournament wins, this was career victory number twelve hundred
overall and coach Tomzo of the Spartans, a team that

(01:47:53):
by the way, went eleven and nine in conference this year.
Tomzoh all time goes three and thirteen against coach, including
the loss today in the NBA. Among the nine games,
John Morant sat Memphis still one, Phoenix one in overtime
at Sacramento. San Antonio, won at Golden State by two,
Boston one again, Utah, and Toronto with road wins and

(01:48:16):
New Orleans one, and the Pelicans have tied the Lakers
for ninth place in the West, a Pelicans team that
started the season three and sixteen. And this is notable
because remember the play in next month. It's the nine
seed hosting the ten seed. We certainly don't know which
is which at this point. Lakers, my goodness, So they'll

(01:48:36):
each be in action at the same time. A little
scoreboard watching tomorrow, Beck you hey, thanks, Steve Um. Yeah.
In fact, the Lakers inching up on the Clippers only
five five games back, oh my gosh, three and seven
in their last ten for the LA. Can I make
one quick because you brought up the TBS crew, I

(01:48:57):
make this very clear. I think that Candice Parker is phenomenal.
I like watching her. I think Seth Davis is great.
I don't know much about the host, Na Bile, but
I like him too. Broadcasting March Madness shouldn't be like karaoke.

(01:49:17):
We should be hey, you guys, you guys want to
do the song, you want to do Madness, let's do.
It's like I'm going to watch a concert and it's
a karaoke show and putting again Rex Chapman seems like
a great dude. Seems like he's done a lot of
things to get his life together. I don't know, but
he is terrible on the air, terrible, you know, and

(01:49:41):
we we destroy football broadcasters, right, Poor poor Pogram McFarland.
All he did was getting Sideline mobile and were just
crushed him. James win Winny. We could Joe Montana remember
when he tried to do TV. Imagine if Twitter was
around when Joe Montana was on NBC's pregame show Drew Brees.

(01:50:02):
For goodness sakes, no one gets a pass because we
see it, we see through it, and that is just terrible.
What's on TV right now? I was, I had it
on right here, and it's even uncomfortable to watch. I
can imagine the emails when they see it on him. Unbelievable.
So let me hit two tweets here real quick, because
we're gonna wrap it up with your picks and great
stuff tonight. From Steve to seger On. I never gave

(01:50:24):
my top five reasons the host should be fired from Fox?
Do you well, it's your choice? Would you rather do that?
Here are these two tweets. Alan Rights, who's the moron
that believes Tony Buzzby created some grand conspiracy with thirty women,
twenty two civil, ten criminal cases to extort Deshaun Watson.
At the same time, I'm not saying Watson is guilty,

(01:50:47):
but I don't believe there's a conspiracy. They thinking out
it's a conspiracy. But I thought Bobo brought up a
really good point. You know, you start getting a few
of these people and you start reaching out and and
and then all the sending, that number grows and there's
really nothing criminal. It's just you got you got left
at the quote unquote altar. Again, nobody knows, nobody has

(01:51:09):
any idea except for Shawn Watson and the women that
are involved. But I'm here to tell you from a
pure football perspective. I know Cleveland's feeling confident. They gave
up three first round picks, they made him the richest
quarterback in the league. But already there has to be
some nerves when it comes to how much time he's
going to potentially miss. It's gonna be sick probably. I

(01:51:29):
would say four games. Um, it's gonna start at six,
and the public gonna reduced the three or four. Think
about this three first round picks, a second round pick
a twenty twenty three, and fifth round pick in twenty
twenty four. And I argue with Willard that you can
at least get two first round picks for Jimmy g
or at least the first and the third, and he said,
people don't even want to do that. I'm like, I'm

(01:51:49):
not so sure I buy into that when you're giving
up three first round picks for Deshaun Watson. Well, I mean,
if if you if I've gone back and forth on this,
and you know I have, because we've talked about it.
I completely disagreed at first whether there was any chance
they'd get two first round picks for Grappled. Then I
changed and I thought, you know, maybe there's a chance.
Now I'm back to completely disagreeing because there's there's nothing

(01:52:11):
going on right now. There's just no market. So that
that's where I am on that. And then one of
the quick one, Josh writes, if the Colts don't do
something soon, I'm giving up my fan card another year
of a lot of cap space and no big time players.
Hey man, I'm old enough to listen to all my
favorite NFL shows on Fox Sports Radio and NFL hosts,

(01:52:34):
and listen all my podcasts, and everyone's telling me how
great Chris Ballard is as a GM and how incredible
the Colt's roster is, and all I see them is
wasting at Arnie, I see them consistently wasting opportunities with
a really good roster. Absolutely, I mean here's and and
the way they lost out on last year was a

(01:52:55):
what was the loss of Jacksonville? Yeah, it's just Raiders
and Jacksonville back to back. Yeah, that soft schedule down
the stretch for the Raiders and went to Indianapolis and
beat him. Solved. All right, Hey, when we come back.
Final segment, Artie's Picks, If Artie will somehow slide in
five things that will get you fired here at Fox
Sports Radio. Next here with Arni A Plank on a

in case you're wondering if I finish ahead of you,
do I get to do the pick segment? Won't? Okay,

(01:53:59):
well a way, let's get this out of the way.
Five things that would get you fired. Fight that, give
me a little music, put me in the mood. Here
it goes. Five reasons to be fired from Fox. If
two of your final four teams are out after the
first round, you need to be fired immediately. Okay, there's
not a second round for you. You're gone. If you
have a nickname that is a city and your team

(01:54:22):
moves in the first round, Like if your name is Villanova,
val or Iowa Sam or you know Arizona Arni and
your team losing the first round, you're fired. Okay, you're fired. Uh.
If your team is ranked one, two or three and
you're losing the first round, you're fired. You gotta fire

(01:54:43):
you so like if you're you're you're firing all Kentucky
fans Yeah, absolutely absolutely, I'll miss them. If you don't
finish in the top three of the Fox Pool Experts contest,
you're fired. You gotta finish in the top three. So
we got out of firing. Gonna be happening there and
basketball guys aren't even in the top three, right, Yeah,

(01:55:04):
well I'm gonna miss him. And if you're a championship
team is gone after day one. On who you picked
the win the championship, you're fired. Like if you pick Kentucky,
you're fired. So not alone that one. Yeah, there are
the five picks why you should be fired. Uh from
Fox Sports Radio. By the way, the game's on Thursday. Um,

(01:55:25):
the favorites are gonna win. Gonzaga, they'll blow out Arkansas,
lay the eight and a half, Villanova will destroy Michigan,
lay the four and a half, Duke all over Texas Tech,
lay the one, and my Wildcats will give the beat
down the Houston. I know you're listening, Houston beat down time.
Lay a million points with Arizona. But things change on Friday,

(01:55:48):
where the other dogs win. St. Peter's beats per Due
take the twelve and a half, Providence beats Kansas, take
the seven and a half. North Carolina beat u A
take the two, and Iowa State beats Miami take the
one and a half. So there you have my picks too,
with them as you please, no longer strictly for entertainment purposes. Own.

(01:56:12):
I think they're all terrible. Um well, first of all,
you're basically getting both of us fired because you're not
in the top three. I'm the only one. Me and
Bruce are are the only ones that have our final fours,
don't at act? Well, you're gonna lose it next week
because Houston's beating Arizona, Nova's beating Michigan, so you're a lead.
Eight is set there. Kansas versus Miami is easy enough.

(01:56:36):
But this idea that St. Peter's is gonna beat per Due. St.
Peter's is a cute story, and I love it that
they're three hundreds one. But Arnie produced got some dudes,
and I know I have him in the final four. Perdue, well,
they're winning over St. Peter's. I think you's gonna scorch
North Carolina. It's not what about himI Kiman? What's gonna

(01:56:58):
happen there? Yeah, we'll see. But u c l A
got its wake up call against Acrin and they smoked St. Mary's.
They are set through and you would see, al, come on,
you've paid attention to college basketball this year, you can't
make sense of North Carolina. They can look like world
beaters like they did against Baylor and Marquette, and they
can lay an egg tomorrow. We were on the air

(01:57:19):
during the overtime of the North Carolina game, um, and
it was against Baylor, and everybody was treating like crazy
tweets were coming in. It was, it was, It was
absolutely nuts. It was about what just because you probably
try to say that the game was over midway through
the second half or something before that horrible flagrant too
on Brady mannic With with ten minutes left in the game. Um.

(01:57:42):
You know, my favorite stat, one of the odds to
win win probability win probability was sixty two one for Baylor.
They almost did it. They almost, dude, I'm telling you
right now. Scott Drew is a hell of a coach. Yes, yes,
he's fantast And if people they lost four starters from
last year year's final national championship team and they were

(01:58:03):
a one seat now listen, they got knocked out early
that injuries all year long. Uh no shame. Now, that
was a that was a tough loss. And if Brady
Mannock doesn't go out, they might get smoked. But I
I really like U. C l A. And I'll tell
you what. Don't sleep on the Red Raiders, aren't he
Don't sleep on Texas Tech even though they can't score.
By the way, speaking of odds, according to Jeff Sherman,

(01:58:26):
you're odds to win the n c a A tournament.
Are as follows. Gonzaga is at seven and four. I
think they were the pre Turney favorite. Kansas at nine
to two, but get this, the third and fourth choice
play each other. Arizona is at seven and one. In
Houston is at ten to one. Wow, look at Houston

(01:58:47):
produce at twelve to one. In U c l A
is at fourteen to one. Other notables here Duke at
eighteen to one, Arkansas not that value at sixty to one,
and as expected, the longest of long shots St. Peter's
at three hundred to one. Let's go St. Peter's Minnesota Man,
Minnesota Man Kevin Rights. Arnie's five things to get You

(01:59:10):
fired don't five. There's only one act B Like Arnie
Spaniard there you go, am, I get you fired. Um,
and let's see all that I've been all night. You
finally get to your top five. Here's going on from Minnesota,
man Kevin with a double shot. Before we get out
the door. DeShawn Watson could have had the women he
assaulted synon disclosure agreements. Maybe that's how we don't know

(01:59:33):
enough information. No, they're not in that position yet. Now
when they reach a settlement, and maybe that's why they're
not saying much, then they could reach that point and
then one more George Rights. If the Lakers go three
and eight in their last eleven games, they'll finish the
season with thirty three wins. Fifty years ago they won
thirty three straight. Oh my God, make make it and

(01:59:56):
already have a great week. Man. I hope, for the
sake of your sanity, Arizona still playing that big
