Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. Oh, let's go, Genius, go,
let's go, That's go. Not often does a non sports
story demand our attention right off the top of the show.
Did I do a little different? Boys wanting me and
Bobo running it? So bobbore you went tonight? I did
(00:21):
get talking. I'm sorry. Good to hear your voice. Man, Uh,
what did you Was that real? Yes? Was real? Bubo?
What I've been reading Twitter? Real? Its Twitter is never wrong,
Denze Washington, I guess how to go? Talk to Will Smith.
At the commercial break, Tyler Perry had the comfort Jada
(00:42):
Pinket Smith. Um, no, this this was full real stuff.
There's no doubt in my mind it was real. Okay,
thank you, Bobo, appreciate it now, I don't, I mean
apparently Bobbo answered already saying, you know yeah, Um, I
don't know, man, I had to watch it a couple
of times. It looked kind of staged. I didn't the
way that he came across, I don't know, it just didn't.
(01:03):
It didn't look legit, and he just casually just walked
off like I don't know. I mean, it could have
been real. Who knows. Defending his wife's honor. But as
somebody who's worked in comedic movies, you should need to
know a joke's a joke. You can't just get defensive
when it's you're somebody close to you, you know what
I mean. I would say, one they got your part, babbo,
(01:24):
when you think that, um, well, his head, Chris Rock's
head would have slapped back a little bit more, hit
back a little bit more, not necessarily, but because he
could have just been so stunned right here we go
on these bubbos. I'm just not uh no, I was
gonna actually say you the picture you showed me, because
you you did the screen boy screen thing, and he
(01:45):
was still smiling. Like if you looked at that picture
that you sent me that you showed me, Rock still
had a grin on his face. I'm not gonna have
a grin on my face after another girl man comes
that close to my face. I'm sorry, I don't care
where I am. I'm not gonna have that kind of
is on me. And I'd literally just say with Cavino Rich,
I have to give Chris Rock his respects and props
(02:06):
to handle that the way that he did. I wouldn't
have I would have said, you want to come up
and take a second shot at me, because um, we're
gonna throw it out right here in front of America's
what's gonna happen. That's what I would have done, no
doubt about that. What did you think, Danny g real
or fake? Well, it's too soon to tell. God it is. No,
it is because we gotta look more at the videotape
(02:28):
and we're blown up pictures. We're looking at Chris Rock.
It's hard to say with his reaction, because maybe he
was just so stunned when it happened that he had
react away. You know, you would if you could think
about something like that happening. It wasn't funny if that's
what they were going for. I mean, it didn't go
they're looking for funny. I think they're looking for, like
(02:49):
to stir things up the boring ass oscars. I can
proudly proclaim that I don't think I've seen a single
damn one of the movies up for Best Movie this year.
Now again, I know for some of you that is
the worst thing you've ever heard, and I'm a terrible person.
But for most of you, I think we're about the same,
right now it's like, yeah, I mean either I have
no idea, um, but there's just there's no buzz around it.
(03:11):
So what do you do? What do you do? You
you generate something, you can create a little bit of
why not it's it's unexpected. And listen, I and what
dropping the F bomb and then dropping curse words? I
I thought, there's gotta be a better way to get
attention to doing that. I'm almost more shocked when you
don't drop curse words anymore I would have been. I
(03:33):
would have probably thought, if it was real, if he
said chucksy darn. You know, dropping the F bomb is
now just adding to it in my opinion. But then again,
you guys have to remember, as we welcome you into
Arnie and Plank on a Fox Football Sunday, are Fox
Sports Sunday, or if you want to say, a Fox
College basketball Sunday, we're here, but it's become a Fox
Oscar Sunday because in the middle of Chris Rock doing
(03:56):
a monologue, Will Smith walked up and did the old one,
the five fingers say to the face, slapped Chris Rock
right in the face. And Chris rocks reaction was Will
Smith just walked up here and slapped me in my
bleeping face. Our Holy s, Will Smith slapped me in
my face, and Will Smith said, keep my f and
wife's name out of your mouth. And then the cameras
(04:18):
wisely followed Will Smith back to his seat. And and
now we wait to figure out. I'm desensitized, right, I'm
a wrestling fan, you know. I I I watched w
W E, W W F W C W n W A,
and I've watched it all. I've watched it. So to me,
everything is a work in life, in sports, so I'm
(04:38):
desensitized on it. But if that is a work, I
watched all of Chris Rocks movies. That's the best acting
job he's ever done. Man, I want you to know something.
Go ahead, and I don't think it's fake. I think
it's real. But for Will Smith to go off like
that over a joke, and and I know you want
to go ahead and protect your wife, but my goodness, man,
look what everybody's been going through the last couple of years.
(04:59):
It goes to show you out of touch these celebrities
are when that's the only thing they've got to be
mad about is a joke made about their wife's hair.
When everybody else is struggling. You know, first time, I
thought it was kind of funny and I'm like, wow,
what the controversy? And then I'm like, you know, the
nerve of him to go ahead and do something like that.
Then they're dropping f bombs and curse words on on TV.
(05:19):
I don't know they I sure hope they came up.
Should have come up with a better idea if this
was all staged. I think the funniest part of all
of this is that the person who broke this happened
to me was Arnie because I was sitting here listening
to a podcast making a few notes and the next thing,
you know, Arnie's And by the way, why don't you
just say, hey, Danny, something's happening with Chris Rock on
(05:43):
the Oscars. Check it out on Twitter? But what does
he text? N I went to texted it. I wanted
to tell him in his ear. I'm like, man, you
got to see what the hell Twitter? I just happened
to have Twitter up and it started exploding. No, Steve
de Seger and I saw it as it came across,
(06:03):
so it is exploding. I'm like, well, it exploded more
than like if they were giving away free lottery numbers
that were winners or something. It was just scrolling like crazy.
I'm like, oh my goodness, I had to hear it.
I had to. I got the full audio of it,
not the one that was um, you know, beat out
or you know you didn't hear the pause by ABC.
I got to hear one of the overseased ones. Will
(06:25):
Smith wasn't playing, my friend. He was not playing, not
with that anger. He's he's an actor, not like I
don't think. I don't think he was playing. Whenever they
left him in the living room in Philly and he
was walking around and everyone was gone, he looked pretty
sad to me, are there could be some bad blood too.
I'll just throw this in. I saw a Twitter commenter
(06:45):
saying that Will was mad about a past joke that
Chris Rock made about him and his wife, So I'm
wondering if this was kind of a build up. It
was also because she has what whata yeah, which I
went gradual takes care of your hair, So I guess
he didn't like that. But still, you know, it's it's
a it was a spur of the moment joke. You
(07:06):
could hear that kind of coming up. Also, I actually
kudos to our um former Fox Sports radio host here.
He's doing well in the country music world, Bobby Bones,
who actually tweeted this moment ago, and I thought it
was a pretty good take. If if he didn't know,
if Chris Rock made the joke and didn't know about
the hair condition, well, then that that's probably conversation. Hey,
(07:29):
you made that joke. It's twice now. Um, I'm gonna
knock you out if you make a joke about my
wife's condition again, because it's something she's dealing with. But
if he knew and went ahead and pushed through, and
there's been a conversation about it before, then maybe that
when that makes a little bit more sense. I'm trying
to make sense of this, to be honest with you.
But Bobby's point was, Hey, if it was an honest mistake,
(07:51):
maybe you give him a little bit leadway. But if
he knew and grinded forward, maybe that had been the
last strike. Maybe Will Smith had said, you make that
joke again, I'm knocking your ass out. We don't know
right well, no, no, But that still doesn't give him
the right to drop f bombs on TV. And and
how many times do you drop an F mom in
a day? Quit? I love this when we all act.
Oh the language that children ain't no kids watching this.
(08:13):
It was eleven o'clock on the East coast. It's ten
o'clock Central time. The kids are in bed. The only
people you worry about is on the West coast. And
are you guys even getting it live? By the time
you get it will probably be bleeped out. So stop
stop that. Come on. I'm you know, man gets assaulted
and you're like, oh my god, he said an F word.
I'm so hurt right now, word right now. I think
they're doing the best actor thing. But can you imagine
(08:36):
if if Chris Rock happens to give the award for that,
I know he isn't um and Will Smith wins it.
I just I would just take it like a microphone
and drop it on the floor and walk away and go,
here's your damn award. How do you like damn apples?
I'm not that How good is that? Huh? Well, we
shall see, Arnie. But it's just it's hilarious to me
(08:57):
to see how this thing absolutely took off off and
it shows you how is Sometimes it's the smallest thing
that ends up. It was like Sharknado asked the way
that this is the first time Sharknado came out and
everyone was like, are you watching this? Now? This has
become the great conversation? Was it real? Was it not?
This is gonna be the uh? What was it? The
(09:17):
Golden Dress? Blue Dress conversation? Can I give you a
spoiler alert on on who won the Best Actor? I
don't even know who's up for it, so I don't care.
But they're the only reason I bring it up is
because it kind of has to do what we're talking about. Um,
So if you don't want Will Smith, it's the winner.
(09:39):
And now he's walking up onto the stage. I'm sorry
if I'm Chris Rock, I'm smacking him back right now. UM.
I wonder if he's gonna say something. I I have
it on on the caption, so I don't know what
exactly he's saying. You know they're they're gonna start putting
it up. But I wonder if he's gonna apologize or
say something about that earlier. How about that? Wow? I
would act like it never happened. I can kind of
(10:00):
put it up on air. Ye are allowed to do
that Okay, is it on Fox? I don't even know
what it's on. I could not even tell you. Right now,
he's just going into the the part that he played
Richard Williams. Oh for the Williams right, right, So he's
talking about the plant we played in the movie. He
didn't he didn't say things about what happened. Maybe he'll
do it at the end. I'll have to wait and see. Well,
(10:21):
you you keep us up today. But and your entertainment reporter,
my friend, how about that? Well, just like I'm the
college basketball expert, now you're the entertainment reporter, right. You
wanted to clown every one of their brackets, and you're
like in DFL, now, aren't you? Yeah? You know, I'm
in like six plates, which is a fireball offense for
me because I was hired at Fox Sports to you know,
be the expert on everything and everything that's in sports. Um,
(10:43):
you know when Plank is up there and they just say, oh,
how cute Chris Plank is throwing darts and got lucky.
But um, you know, if I don't do well, I
get called into the offense and say they're like, what's
wrong with you? This is why we hired you. You're
the You're the expert on everything, and this is unacceptable.
So I suck up and slap the s out of
you right now. That's the most meaning thing you've ever
(11:04):
said about me, just because Arizona didn't do anything. I mean,
my we told you they were gonna get clowned by Houston,
and all you did was clown on Houston. And then
you don't mean my amazing picks with somehow I lost
my national championship picked. I don't even know I had
as my national championship pick in the second round and
I was still leading it. I mean, that's that's good work,
(11:25):
to be honest. There's no luck there, my friend. Yeah, yeah, Well,
I I gotta tell you no more jokes about propicia
or we're gonna have it out. I'm just telling you.
By the way, Will Smith is crying right now. Um
on stage, he is just like bawling. So, um, I'm
not I'm not. I can't really go I'm not really
really reading the whole thing, but I still think he's
(11:46):
talking about his part. But he's bawling, obviously he's he's
emotional tonight of of what happened. But yeah, I was
really disappointed about my Wildcats and absolutely killed me. Houston.
You know, congratulations Houston for winning the game. You deserve it.
I mean, there's no better way than playing at home
UM as a number five seed against the number one seed,
So congratulations playing were they playing it in off Hinds pavilion?
(12:08):
R I p with the San Antonio I mean, how
close do you want to be that? I knew you
were gonna have an excuse for this, no excuse, you
know what. I hope I hope that has to go
on the road when they're number one in the in
the in the country. How about that. You weren't number
one overall in the country. You were one seed in
a region and you got beat and you were because
we had to play at number five on the road.
(12:29):
For crying out loud, ARENI are you? Is this what
you're going with? Go down with some class. Take your
l It wasn't on the wasn't a hostile environment. You
got beat. You should have lost to TCU. That wasn't
a good call at mid court. You knew it. They
blew it. Um. But yeah, I mean, take your owl.
Don't sit here and making oh the whole court environment.
(12:50):
It's just not your year. The scary thing is now
you could go out and recruit a whole new team
of guys from some of these mid major squads and
made a run. You might even be better next year.
That's awesome. No, I I'm sorry, No, I have to
use the excuse. I can't. I can't. I want to
play Houston again. That was an ugly game for us.
We never we never went ahead and had the lead
(13:12):
at all. I want to schedule them again next year
so we give them the beat down that they deserve.
We should have used it in the Tennessee. But it
just it's sickened me. We got to the I thought
we're gonna go to the finals this year and then
we get eliminated like that. The whole thing just makes
me puke. Yeah, you show them. They beat you to
go to the Elite eight, and you're gonna beat them
in a meaningless December basketball. There you go. I like
(13:36):
I said, a softball has to go on the road
for every game when the playoffs go. Well, tough tough news. Um,
the championship is in Oklahoma City. I hope they change
it at the last minute. Hey listen, I'm not one
of those soft fans. I would tell you anytime, anywhere,
any place, Arnie span your soft. He's gonna blame San Antonio,
where people couldn't care less about Houston basketball as the
(13:58):
reason they lost the game. Soft. By the way, congratulations
to Will Smith in addition to his right hook are
slap excuse me? He did win Best Actor. It's the
first time he's ever won the awards, so I can
imagine why he might be a little bit emotional dad,
and he slapped the snot out of Chris Rock. Alright,
quick break when we come back. Uh, let's say there
was a big story in the National Football League this
(14:19):
week involving Arnie's Miami Dolphins. They made a massive move
to go get Tyreek kill. What's been the best move?
What's been the move that will underwhelm? We'll dive into

I saw that. I've been reading about him, you know,
on and off for like the last year. What does
he seventy one. He had to do his last show
sitting down. It's been like that for a while there.
(16:07):
That's just I mean, it's sad to see, but I'm
glad he was able to do it. Man, it's just
getting old. Man. It just okay. So Um, as being
someone who hadn't seen a picture of Phil Collins recently,
he uh he doing okay, Yeah, he's no, he's he.
It goes back. I think it started like twenty years
ago when he um like just located a hip or something,
(16:28):
and it just was gradually doubt getting worse after that.
And so um, it's been tough on him. Man, there's
one of my favorites, one of my favorites. Hate to
see him ending it, but completely understand. And how come
you're not complaining? It didn't appear as if North Carolina
had any problems with St. Peter's proximity to Philadelphia, aren't. Yeah,
I was ordering my St. Peter's T shirt. You know
that's my team because they're only five hours from me,
(16:50):
so um, you know they're in my neck of the woods.
That was I was hoping, you know, we were. I
was up philipin yesterday for Joey Taylor with Willard, and
Willard said, the only thing I hope happens is they don't.
By five two of you know, at least proved that
they belonged there. And I still believe that they belonged there.
But you hate to go out like that. They were
really never in it after the first five minutes of
(17:10):
the game. Why why are you pack twelve fans so soft?
I mean even pack twelve football bus like that's right,
Houston had home court. No one had more than St. Peter's.
I mean literally, it's like, how far is the St.
Peter's campus to the actual Come on, you're talking about
a three hour drive for Houston in a state where
(17:31):
again Houston fans that are die hard Houston Cougar fans
will test. Ain't no one in San Antonio that's magically
suddenly rooting for Houston, Nor are they in Austin. There
was as many Arizona fans as there were Houston fans
from that area. Stop making excuses. Aren't take your loss, man,
take your loss and hurt so much because you know
we're like in academic of like IVY School, the IVY
(17:53):
League West Coast. You went to Tulsa for crying out loud,
so right, the the actual Ivy League type school. Anyway,
I digress. We got a lot of tweets so far
in on this, so let's just go ahead and we'll
cleanse our palette after the Sager's updates. So let's hit
some of these immag the blind Seahawks fan rights. I
think it's real, Like, why would you fake that? I
(18:15):
think what Arnie said about the tweets saying that Smith's
were angry showed something Rock handled it like a champ.
They they were. I guess there were a bunch of
people talked to Will Smith at the commercial break would
have loved and I guess Bobo just Bobo tell us
exactly because I didn't get to hear the his his
(18:36):
speech after he won the Best Actor, but I guess
he mentioned that he you know, tried to make some
excuse for it, right or something like that. Yeah, pretty much.
He was just saying, like people are challenging him and
he just felt like, I can't think of the character's
name that he played Venus and Serena's William's father. He
was talking like comparing him how they were calling him
crazy for protecting his family and like that's pretty much
(18:59):
how he looked that it like, and he was like
love and make you do some crazy things. And I'm sorry, man,
I'm a uh I don't say, I don't want to
say I am or I was, But I just look
at Will Smith differently than now, man, like you gotta
handle that differently, like way differently. And I get it
you are an entertainer, but Chris Rock is also an
entertainer and he's a comedian. And it's not like he
(19:21):
went and touched your wife for like did something inappropriate,
like I mean, if you need to go slap is August,
I was even it for sleeping with your wife. Let's
let's be honest, like, come on, man, like he could
have handled that way differently. His apology wasn't nothing. I
paid a night and night doologancy Will Smith and Logan
Paul in the ring. So I just that was a
bad joke. That was a real bad joke. M I do.
(19:44):
Like a couple of other tweets here, Jason writes, I've
turned it now to saying the slap was staged. That
Will talks about defending his family, but who knows that
it's kind of what he did in his speech. Uh.
One question, if Ben Affleck would have hit Chris Rock,
would that peak class a fight as a hate crime?
That's a fair question, I think, But no, come on,
come on, nature boy, we don't need to bring that
(20:05):
into it tonight. What are you gonna say, Bubble, I apologize,
no is I'm now I'm starting to get a lot
of people texting me saying that they don't think it
was real, that it was stage and all stuff like that.
That I looked at an up close picture of that
slap and you could clearly see the swellingness of Chris
Rock's face like that was an actual slap. Will Smith
(20:26):
just slap me for critiquing his role in Bad Boys three?
That was from Johnny being good on Twitter? Eric by
UH singer Eric Banat just tweeted everybody hugging and consoling.
Will Can somebody go check on Chris c Filler or somebody.
I like that. I like that tell that it was
really just the way the way Chris Rock reacted. If
(20:47):
it was stage, she would have come up with a
funnier response or something like that. You know, Um, we
can't play the any audio from this until it's over right?
Is that the rules? Because I think we could a
audio we have what happened on stage bleep, But I
don't really know if that's all you're gonna hear, is
is there's my audio re enacted of it. Here, Will
(21:12):
Smith by Baby Baby. There you go. There's what it
sounded like. But I keep seeing the the Will Smith
speech pop up, and someone talked to him backstage as well.
But uh, it makes it seem as if, oh no,
that's that's from his speech. Uh it made it seem
as if it was a pretty legit. So what a night,
(21:33):
what a story? Right, we're sitting here, We're gonna talk
most of this night about the n c A a tournament,
about a final four that I guess in the end
ends up with four blue bloods if you want to
debate Villanova. We're gonna talk about NFL moves. We're gonna
talk about the craziness of this offseason, and lo and behold,
one of the wildest live TV moments falls right in
(21:54):
our lap before the show started. I gotta tell you,
Dan Bier has the tweet of the night. He goes,
if they're ever gonna make a movie about the Fab Five,
I know who's playing Juwan Howard. So it's well done. Well,
I hope that gives all the likes and read tweets
all the likes and read tweets. All right, Um, let's see,
there was two more here that I wanted to get
to before we before we got to Steve de Sager's update. Um,
(22:17):
watched the slow mo version. It's real. He was shocked.
He was shook. Okay, I think we've all kind of
assessed that. And then King of All Cards points out
Jada Peakett has a disease. It caused her to lose
her hair, and Chris Rock make fun of her hair
cut with the g I change everybody else knows? I guess,
well Chris Rock should know Wright or did everybody find
out through social media? I don't know. I don't know.
(22:41):
I mean I I had no idea. I had no idea,
And I'm sure maybe Chris Rocks a little bit more
tight in. But you obviously can't be googling everyone's issues
before you start making jokes about it. So what and
I if you missed it? Chris Rock slapped on stage
by Will Smith, who didn't proceeds to win the Best
Actor Award for his portrayal of Richard Williams, first time
(23:05):
in his career he won the award. Will continue to
take your tweets on it. That plank show at stinking
genius one and everybody should be hitting stuff attocol. I
think I got one last one for you, more bagger
vance than Muhammad Ali's hold on. Somebody just tweeted this one.
(23:28):
I got one little fight. My mom got scared. Hashtag oscar,
hashtag what just happened? All right. We'll continue to take
your tweets on it, and Twitter is gonna be blown
up with it all night long. And as Trey rides,
I can't wait to see what he does to one
up this. That's a fair point, all right? Um, yeah, sorry,
(23:49):
I'm not. I just know that he calls Pete skeat
and that's the only thing that matters to me, all right.
Steve de Sager, speaking of our guy that has the
inside scoop on everything going on in the world of
sports and in the world of entertainment, Steve to say,
years in the house for the first time tonight. What's up, Steve.
A couple of reporters from the Athletic one said, we
really need a sideline reporter here. This has never been
more true, quite honestly. Absolutely, just have one on stand
(24:11):
by the whole time. Yeah, you can get injury update.
You can actually get the you know, it's like talking
to coaches during the game, like it's actually going on
here because you know, the winners have to go to
the press conference afterwards. This is going to come up.
So stand by. Absolutely they do. Did they get fined
by who? The academy? This is fine. No, this is
(24:32):
not quite like that. No, it's not it's not the
I'm just here, so I don't get fine the whole time.
One reporter did say, it's weird that Will Smith wasn't
ejected for targeting and forced him. It's the first half
of next year's Oscars. But anyway, we got Kansas and
North Carolina headed to the Final four, and Saturday night
it's North Carolina against Duke in a national semifinal. Carolina
(24:55):
eliminated St. Peter's sixty nine to forty nine. The score
late in the first two half ward was already four
to thirteen, so the game was over. Then when St.
Peter scored thirteen points in about the first seventeen minutes
of the game, and they were down over twenty As
for Kansas, top seed in the Midwest, they were down
six at the half and still one easily over Miami
seventy six to fifty. Saturday will be Kansas against Villanova
(25:18):
six pm Eastern Time. That will be in New Orleans
at the Final four. And in case you didn't hear
from the injury last night, Villanova guard Justin Moore will
have surgery this week for a torn achilles as he
was injured late in that win last night. The two
regional finals in women's basketball are over, as Stanford has
eliminated Texas fifty nine fifty Earlier. Number one South Carolina
dominated Creighton eighty two fifty. Among the seven NBA games,
(25:43):
Charlotte one at Brooklyn Now. Kyrie Irving was playing a
home game tonight and was six of twenty two shooting
from the floor as they lost to Charlotte one to one.
Ten Irving from three point range one of nine. New
Orleans beat the Lakers, even though the Pelicans were down
twenty three in the first half, bat l a one
sixteen to one oh eight despite thirty nine points from
(26:04):
Lebron James, who did finish the game despite a bad ankle.
Washington beat Golden State one three to one fifteen, another

Celtics have won six straight and twenty four of their
last eight. Phoenix beat Philadelphia one fourteen one oh four

(26:25):
have won eight in a row. Sons have a record
of sixty one and fourteen among the eight NHL games
Pittsburgh and eleven to two winner at Detroit, NASCAR and Austin,
Texas went to Ross Chastain his first career Cup Series victory.
Also in Austin, Texas final of match play golf was
today Scotty Scheffler the winner. He moves to number one
(26:46):
in the world golf rankings. And US men soccer was
on FS one tonight, a five to one victory in
a World Cup qualifier against Panama in Orlando. Christian Polistic
three goals too on penalty kicks. This is a team
that US had lost at Panama one nothing shockingly in October.
So they've all been qualified for the World Cup. One
(27:06):
game left, it's this Wednesday night. US plays its finale
at Costa Rica. Top three in this region go to
the World Cup, which as we know, is not going
to be in the summer because they with all the
feet for corruption, awarded the World Cup to Qatar, where
it's a hundred ten degrees every day and the summer,
so they moved it too late in the year, and
they're forcing all the European leagues, for example, to just
(27:29):
stop their seasons for a month and a half so
they can run the World Cup and have the World
Cup final a week before Christmas. Thank you, back to

(28:14):
because I did not. I I kid you. Not every
other bracket I have, I have Kansas, but for some
reason in this one, I have Auburn winning at all.
I have no idea what happened. Currently in third, two
points behind Chris Bruce Sard, one point behind Plaxico burrus
Well in front of ourtow Man. I'm losing the Plaxico.
I might as well just quit. Why what's wrong with
(28:34):
that ball guy? I don't lose the football. I don't
mind Jonas too. I really should quit. Are you saying
that you're more of a college basketball mind than they are? Yes? Okay,
well better basketball mind, did everybody? That's why I'm hired.
I'm here, but I know a little about a lot
instead of a lot about a little. Then if you know,
(28:54):
if you know a little about a lot, you probably
shouldn't be flexing your muscle about winning this thing. I
will say, though, it's not bad to be in the
top five with the craziness. That's not for me. It's
bad for me. For you, it's great for me, it's bad. Well, yeah,
it's it's great. Whenever everything that's not supposed to happen
happen and and you end up still nailing at least
two of the final four teams, you should feel pretty
good about yourself. You, on the other hand, I guess
(29:16):
what perfection all the way around? Have you ever winning
the whole thing? Have you ever hurt your arm patting
yourself on the back? My predictions the RECEI they know
my predictions usually hit on of the time. So when
I don't finish, you know number one in these contests,
it's you know, I don't think that's right. It is,
it's totally it's no, that's that's incorrection. Yes, I can
(29:42):
we can go back and listen to your picks in
our final segment. What's nine percent might be a little
bit better now with that in mind, every year, two
things are a guarantee around here. Number one, Artie's going
to pick the Dolphins to go to the super Bowl,
and Arnie's going to pick Arizona to win the national title.
(30:03):
I'm picking the Dolphins. A matter of fact, I want
Danny to take an email to the bosses and say
that I demand um to go to the super Bowl
next year so I can see my Dolphins play in
the super Bowl. You know we did this last year. No, no, no, no,
come on now, come on now, I demanded before that. No, no,
this is this is a done deal. Arne Arney Lane
(30:26):
Jokes is a feature early Friday morning on the Bet Wow. No,
I demanded what I heard you talking to Chris? We
need to bet on the Raiders. That's a joke. Yeah,
I'd rather have two of them, Derek Carr. Okay there, buddy, Wow,
I'm demanding uh to go to the super Bowl so
(30:47):
I can see my Dolphins win the Super Bowl this year. Well,
what happens if you demand to go to the super
Bowl and you get to see Tom Brady versus I
don't know Patrick Mahomes again, that's not happening. That's why
I'm demanding to go so I can see my Dolphins.
I love this. Did you know we got Tyreek Hill?
Maybe you don't know that. I love this. Confident nature
(31:07):
of this is for sure gonna happen. When I think
you're about oh, for everything that you've bet your job
on or that you've guaranteed us, why can't you just
have a gray area here? Why you may have heard
of him the best best wide receiver in all of football, right,
and he had the best quarterback in all of football
throwing to him, and we had a good quarterback throwing
to him. That made him the best quarterback in football.
(31:29):
Now not the best quarterback in football anymore. Wait, so
now you're you're saying Patrick mahomes greatness was because of
Tyreek Kill. Well, no, it's it's it's because of somebody else.
You don't think Tyreek Kill helped him because of that.
Let me ask you this. If you put Patrick Mahomes
on the New York Jets last year, is he taking
him to the Super Bowl? No? Is he winning any
(31:50):
more games than they won? Maybe one? Come on, you're
taking one receiver away. You're gonna get to draft. You
got two draft picks now in the first you would
and you're going crazy. You got one wide receiver. You're
ready to go and bet your life savings on the right.
It was a tan seven football team that made the playoffs.
We didn't suck like the Dolphins did last We didn't suck.
We were one game away from making the playoffs. Right,
(32:11):
and you started out, oh and seven, Now we got
the best wide receiver in football. Do you understand the
we have We have running backs now wide receivers. Yeah,
we shirt up the offensive line. Remember, I love too
when it when he was playing well. I loved him
when he was playing well. Go ahead, Well, now he's
gonna be playing well with the offensive. When he's playing well,
(32:34):
I love when he's not playing while I want him caught.
That's kind of what the bottom line is here. So
you're all in right now. You're a believer in Mike McDaniel,
and you're a believer in your offensive coordinator. I'm just
trying to figure out who we're gonna go ahead and
play in the Super Bowl. I'm not sure who we're
gonna play. The offensive coordinators. Frank Smith, by the way,
just so whenever I drink or whatever, just because, just
throw the ball. Throw at the Tyrek every time. So
(32:57):
we're gonna have the first ever team in the story
of the National Football League that's going to throw to
the same player every single play. I wish. Come on,
you don't take Miami's dangerous after what they finished last
year and now they had Tyreek Hill? Are you? I mean,
are you trying to you trying to at all after
how they finished last year. No, I don't think they're
dangerous on how they finished last year. I think they're
(33:18):
dangerous because they've made a lot of moves, but you
still have a question at quarterback. Now, I give them
kudos in the backup. They went out and god, didn
you guys just signed Teddy Bridgewater. That's your guy that's
probably gonna end up being your quarterback. Stop it. You
can't stay healthy? Are to it? First of all? Two
is gonna be. He's gonna be the most improved player.
You're gonna go. Wow, that's the tour we always thought
(33:40):
when he came into the NFL. He's down the wattle,
he's down the hill. He's got the Vante Park and
they kept Kaseki. I mean, they've got a running game now.
I mean, and they have a pretty good defense. Matter
of fact, they're gonna win the a f C East
Top and fans. This has been a pretty good week
for us. But Danny J. Did you write that email
to the bosses that I demand to be at the
suite party? Can't send his own emails either? Are you
(34:02):
not even incapable of emailing the boss and saying, Hey,
I need the Super Bowl off. By the way, I
just want to prepare you guys, just so you know
this is going to be the entire off season, aren't
He's gonna come in every single night telling you how
their dolphins are going to the super Bowl. H If
the nick somehow squirm into the playoffs, it'll be how
the Knicks are gonna win that? Forget about? Do you
understand how long it's been since one of my teams
won four? And now we're finally gonna have I'm finally
(34:28):
gonna have a winner. You had, you had a team
that went into the n c A A tournament is
a one seed. I don't think you can carry this,
poor little me and my team's attitude anymore. Do you
don't want to know what I did from the show?
I wonder how many days until I founally have a winner?
Three and in thirty two days you had a team
as a one seed. You can't be chalking the do it?
You stole it from us when you put us on
(34:49):
the road against the five seed St. Peter's played on
the in a home environment against North Carolina and got smoked.
Quit making excuses, take your l Just next year you're
gonna when you're crushing too, or you're gonna be like
I never liked him. I just preparing myself. Just three
and thirty two days until my Miami Dolphins get the
revenge on the entire world. Okay, because everyone's against Miami
(35:12):
when we come back, you know, would be getting their
revenge on the entire world, might be Pat Mahomes. Did
the Chiefs get the bad end of this completely? Or
could they have safe faced a bit? We'll debate. You
know which way Arnie's gonna go, But I'll lay out
a couple of angles next year on Fox Sports Radio
where the Fingers Shop. I love it, I love it
(35:40):
Bobo breaking up one of the great Chappelle skits of

Those hold up over time and oh that's right, Sorry,
I mean listen then before I think he passed away
before the bid even came out, right, they had a minute,
and like after the taping, he passed away after after okay, okay,
(36:03):
so he got to know, like the first soon of
the head become. You have no idea what we're talking about,
do you, Arnie? No? No, That's why I'm not saying anything, right,
I think so anyway, yeah, uh five figures say wait
wait wait wait, Arnie doesn't have anything to say, should
talk Chris Rock gets slapped, he wins Best Actor, and
Arnie is speechless. I am playing a lot when I

I like this from Snake, who tweeted at us in Albany,
New York. Here rights Will Smith just slapped Chris Rock
(37:07):
across the face on National TV, and Skip Bayliss is
still tweeting about Lebron. That's okay. Artie still putting the
Dolphins in the Super Bowl in March, so we're okay.
Wait the Skips defense though, isn't he on the West
Coast isn't there. Well, they're what the guys are in
the studio on the West coast and they've seen it live,
right or is it still delayed? I thought they were
(37:27):
watching it on another feed, So I'm now I'm really confused.
I don't know the the time differences. It's hard enough
for me to figure out the difference between Eastern and central.
You start trying to figure out what a TV network
is doing in the middle of that, Arnie, I've got
no idea. All right, a lot of stuff on two
A here, a lot of stuff on the Dolphins. Keep
the tweets coming in. We'll read them all coming up
(37:47):
at Stinking Genius one. I'm at Plank Show. Everybody should
be following in and tweeting ou us as well at
Fox Sports Radio. But are you at all in the
mindset that in the long run this could be good
for Kansas City. There's some cap space, allow them the
more draft someone good. If they give up Patrick Mahomes
(38:08):
and cup cap space, they can get some more players. No,
it's not good. Wide receivers. Will player paid a premium?
Because running backs are a dime a dozen now and
you can just go out anybody to play that position.
You need some speedsters, you need some good wide receivers
to compliment those quarterbacks and uh and and it's gonna
absolutely hurt Patrick Mahomes. There's no doubt in my mind.
(38:28):
Well to le'm excuse me, tymey Kill is twenty eight
years old, you know he's gonna and you start getting
close to thirty. That's an unfortunate hill that outside of
guys like Jerry Rice and others, and even Jerry he
wrote it just a bit that you start to fall off. So,
I mean, I have the same concerns about Davante Adams,
(38:49):
who's twenty nine years old. Now he's gonna play this
entire season at nine, but by next year he's thirty.
And I think Daniel Jeremiah had the staff and of
the you know, the top any receivers in the NFL
this year, not a single one was thirty or over.
Which again, if you're paying that kind of money to uh,
Davante Adams or a Tyreek Kill, that's a lot to
(39:11):
invest in someone who is pushing thirty right now. No
that that's a good stat but remember there was a
lot of young wide receivers also, so um but yeah,
that certainly thirty is uh the magic number there, but
he's got a couple of tow three good years out.
Let's see what happens the next couple of years and
how far they're gonna go if if Tyreek kill. Here's
my thing is, you've completely ignored Buffalo in all of this,
(39:33):
who have kind of stood pat even though they have
Stefon Diggs, they have Josh Shallon, they have a good
running game. This move and I know that I'm really
I'm peeing in the wind in this conversation because you're
a Dolphins fan, But you elevate Miami now as a
team above both Buffalo and New England after this move.
I have, Oh, I definitely have better than New England standings. Yeah,
(39:55):
there's there's no doubt in that. I think they're right
up there with Buffalo in the a f C East.
I think it's gonna be a good I don't know,
I think it's gonna be fantastic. All right, Well, we'll
continue to invade this. I I don't know if it's
just the a f C West in me, but I
worry that somehow Kansas City is gonna come out looking
like geniuses in this and I hate it. Miami Dolphins song,
(40:16):
Miami Dolphins number one, the one we stole from the Oilers.
It's it's Houston Oilers number one. There's nont but no
Miami stole that from them. You can't do that. That's
the Oiler's song. It's love You Blue, alright, our one
in the books. This thing is probably gonna turn south
on us quicker than Chris Rocks joke about Jada Peake
at Smith. So hang in there. Next hour taught for
(40:38):
him in Live from Vegas and a complete in c
A a tournament recap to kick off next hour. What
do we like? What shocked us? What made sense? Coming
up next? Sitting here preparing myself for let's see today
as we flip past midnight on the East Coast is
technically Monday, Arch, so where gosh, we're less than a
(41:03):
month from the draft. Let's go. I've done a good
job not nording out of the draft. But let's see
April to May made a June not a good quarterback
draft though. Man, yeah, some some are a little higher
on others, but I agree. You know what, you know,
quarterback is gonna get over drafted. It's maybe two or three.
But as he's so I've I've got about five more
(41:24):
months of hearing about the greatness of the Dolphins, right,
is that basically myself? Okay? Then in through the season
two days, because again, I think Mike McDaniels is going
to be an awesome head coach. I really do. Um?
I am? I wait? Am I saying that? Right? It's
not Mike McDaniel, is it? Um? It's uh, Miami's head coach?
(41:49):
Is why am I keep saying Mike McDaniel it is?
It is Mike cdaniel, Okay. I think Mike McDaniel is
a brilliant dude. I just Arnie. I mean, I don't
know if two is the guy. And I appreciate your
stick tutiveness to him in this offseason where you actually
believe in him for the first time, But I mean,
(42:10):
you still have to have a guy to get the
dude balls in space. There's an out of context and
I don't know if two is that guy. So kudos
for your son belief in him. But you've seen this
act before, have you not? I've seen this act before.
He's the only he put it this way to Ah.
Is the same guy that went ahead and led the
Dolphins on an incredible run in the second half of
(42:31):
the season. Right, they finished nine and eight when they
were all in seven, So what did they go? Uh?
Nine and one? Um in their last ten. He's only
gonna go ahead and build on that. And now he's
got an offense. Now he's got people to throw too.
Now he's got a running game, he's got a good defense,
he's got a coach that believes in him. It's not
a good division. I don't see one negative. I don't
(42:52):
know why you trying to make a negative out of
the best wide receiver go to the Miami Dolphins. I
don't understand why you try to do that. Can do
Do I need to dismantle this piece by piece or
do we just let him live in his world? I mean,
it's not a good division. The Buffalo Bills, the New
England Patriots not a good division. You had two playoff
teams from that division last year, and your team which
(43:14):
started oh and seven and ended up winning what seven
eight in a row. It's a good division. Jets might stink,
but that doesn't make it a bad division. And the
Patriots are gonna be nobody this year. Stop it. Do
you say this every single year? And they ended up
going ten and seven and making the playoffs this year
with the rookie quarterback. So I don't know if I
would call it garbage. Like you have number two, you're
talking about carrying over the momentum from an end of
(43:37):
the season run when no one's back from that team
in the coaching staff. You're counting on a guy who's
never been a head coach at any level before to
just command the locker room, and you're basing I listen.
I appreciate your your die hard nature, but I feel
like we've been here before, and I feel like I'm
gonna be talking you off a ledge three weeks in
(43:58):
the NFL season. No you're not. Why would know you're
gonna have to not? That's not true at all. First
of all, like I said, look what Kansas City has
been able to do with Tyreek Hale. Look how explosive
he is. Look what happens when he gets the ball,
whether they pitched it to read. I mean, you've got
good dudes there. You don't have Patrick Mahomes in Miami.
You don't have the Andy Reid coach in the show.
(44:19):
I don't need to have Patrick Mahomes to show how
great Tyreek Hale is. So Tyreek Hills just magically get Okay, anyway,
I'm glad you got Tyree Hillki Wait wait wait, Joe,
wait this Joe Burrow right? Uh first year and Cincinnati
just average? They get Jamaar Chase. Oh, all of a
(44:39):
sudden things are a little different now, isn't it. My friend?
He tore his a c l and missed more than
you got an excuse for everything. Oh, he wouldn't gonna
put up those type of numbers. He wanted to put
up those type of numbers. Um, when he didn't have
Jamaar Chase? Now was he? I mean, he was trending
pretty well in that direction. But I mean the dude
got hurt right at the tenth game of the season.
(45:02):
And I think Cincinnati did a lot better job defensively
this year. Why can't said the Cincinnati thing be a
precursor to Miami. Cincinnati got Jamaar Chase, they went to
the Super Bowl. Dolphins get Tyreek Hill, they go to
the Super Bowl. Well, then, okay, that's so hard to
figure out. We could do that for every single team.
(45:22):
Then you can sit here and do this. Why not
Miami had a good Miami had a good defense. Miami
had an okay defense. A defense Miami had an okay Why?
Why are you trying to create this illusion of something
that's not there anymore? You want to brag about their defense?
Who was the guy in charge of their defense? Ryan Flores?
(45:44):
Where is he right now? I know coaches don't matter
to you, but it's a pretty big deal. I mean,
if you're gonna say, why can't Tyree Kill do for
the Dolphins what Jamaar Chase did for the Bengals, I'm
not going to disagree with you, but there's been eight
other moves that are kind of similar to it, if
not more difference making. Russell Wilson going to Denver is
(46:07):
a bigger difference maker in the a f C than
Tyree Killed going to Miami in a positive direction. If
you asked me a math question because you didn't have
the answer, and I said, well, let's ask this guy.
He went to Harvard, he's a math professor to Harvard,
and he gave you the answer, you wouldn't say, na,
I think you're wrong, Mr Harvard. I'm not buying it.
I think there's another answer that you'd say, Well, you're
Harvard professor, mathematics professor, you're gonna go ahead, give me
(46:30):
the answer. Um, there's a reason why Vegas said, oh,
we're gonna go from seventy to one to thirty five
to one. We're gonna go we have to lower these
odds so we don't get burned when the Dolphins win
the Super Bowl. Because Vegas is the Harvard experts. They
cut those odds so fast because they knew they were
going to take a beating in the betting that world. Well,
(46:50):
they did the same thing for Denver, and they did
the same thing for Vegas, and they did the same
thing for Cleveland. Not that much, though, was it. I
think it was a little bit more already, to be
honest with Talpin's got cut in half pretty much from
some places. So if you're odds, if everything was so
great coming out of last year, why were there adds
(47:13):
so high? If they're building off momentum, why were they
so high to begin because of the getting rid of
the coach and you know, the uncertainty. But all they
needed was one wide receiver and boom they got right
back in there, didn't They are? So the whole key
this entire offseason for the Dolphins, is just in your
opinion to make them a super Bowl team, Tyree kill
(47:34):
is that difference maker that They also added a couple
Chase Edmonds right, they got most So I thought that
was a pretty good pick up. They you know, they
had always had a good defense, added something on the
offensive line. So now we're ready to roll. We're ready
to go and compete, my friend, So we're gonna have
to do this every single show, is what you're telling.
I mean, there's not gonna be you stop and you realize, like, man,
(47:58):
this is um, this is a lot to go from
zero to one hundred in a division with the Bills.
Who I mean, would you rather have Josh Allen or two?
A tongue below you know what, I'm gonna even make that.
I would even say this when the Dolphins, if they
play the Cowboys in the super Bowl, I'm gonna take bobo.
How about that? Well, number one, the Dolphins aren't going
to the super Bowl, but let's go ahead and get
that an ink Bobo, so that way we can get
(48:19):
this executed. Because I think that there's a good chance
that even if that happens, I want to see Arnie
lose money because of it the Cowboys, ain't. I don't
think the Dolphins are right now either. I mean, I
love listen, I love the move. It's Arnie Plank a
Fox Sports radio. Yes, Chris Rock got slapped tonight, but
(48:40):
this is bigger. Arnie thinks that the Dolphins are Super
Bowl bout. Now. I appreciate that you. And who's the
other Dolphin fan Brian No, probably, but he's not a
big a Dolphin fan like I am. Okay, well not nearly.
Maybe he's a little bit more sensible, sensible where you
saying this is a nice move, but we'll see how
to it's I feel the same way with the Raiders.
(49:01):
It's a great move to go get Davante Adams. But
now Derek Carr out of excuses, Let's see what happens.
Great move for Denver to go get Russell Wilson. Now,
I guess what Denver in this incredible roster is out
of excuses, go make something happen. I mean, it's just
it's funny because I said this about the Tyree killtrade,
and obviously you're blown it to s tonight. I don't
(49:22):
think that this is a trade that can fully be
opined on at least for the next couple of years.
Because let's see what the Chiefs. What if the Chiefs
don't dip, what if they're thirteen and two heading into
the final two weeks of the season, or even let's
see what let's see what they get a wide receiver
in the draft and how much that makes a difference. But, um,
(49:44):
you can see, let's see, let's see, let's see, let's see.
But because it could help both teams, just like the
decision to go with Philip Rivers and and move on
from Drew Brees help both teams. Even though the Chargers
never won a Super Bowl, you're still going to see
him take a major step backwards, especially in that the
vision they're going to lose big time. Um, I'm not
having Tyreek Hill. By the way, in the gambling aspects,
(50:06):
when a wide receiver like like Tyree Kill is like
gonna miss the game, it only affects the point spread
by like one or two points. Why would the odds
go from seventy to one to like thirty five to one.
But it's only one or two points in the in
the game world, you know what I mean? Where is
this massive jump for the Dolphins that you're talking about,
(50:27):
because I still see him at plus five thousand to
potentially make is that old? This was from it's been
down the thirty five or forty two one five seen
forty one. I haven't seen thirty see. People say, then
let's go. You you use Vegas as your gauge, right right,
(50:49):
And you would look at this and say Vegas is
the ultimate gauge for for the future. Odds, the Chiefs
are still the third best pick in football to go
to the Super Bowl. Might as well take your money
and flush it down the toilet if you're gonna bet
the Chiefs. Same with the Pack. But oh but the
Harvard of Sports right went out and says there's still
(51:13):
the third pick. So wouldn't that say that they're not
gonna get hurt that much by losing Tyreek Hill. Yeah, well,
they don't get a dred percent every time. Once in
a while, Harvard gets it wrong. Once in a while,
they get it wrong plus three thousand. According to Sports
Not the number one choice is still the Buffalo Bills
(51:34):
at plus six fifty. You guys are better at math,
and I am Buccaneers the second choice, though they wavered
a little bit with the Tom Brady stuff. Um, a
couple of quick tweets before we get rolling at stinking
genius swant I'm in show. I was gonna say, Jerry Springer, Um,
the real Jerry Springer actually tweeted this out because the
oscars have become the Jerry Springer Show. So I thought
(51:56):
that was kind of funny that he put that out.
They're just throwing because love that. Well, I will say this,
I um, I can't stop watching wrestling memes. Uh my
man Quinn just sent one of Rick Flair taking shops
and it's just like Chris Rock taking a slap. I
still think it's a work all right. A couple quick
tweets and then we'll get to our man tadd firm
(52:17):
and it's already in plank on a Fox football in Well,
let me let me get this quick reading here before
I get in trouble, because we would remind you that

Somebody tell Arnie that the point of spinning something is
to at least make it sound somewhat plausible, at least
somewhat logical. I don't think he's buying your off. That's
(53:00):
ridiculous because we all know the talent that Tyreek Kill is.
We know what he's done in Kansas City. We know
what a difference makery is when he gets the ball.
So I mean, come on, now, unless you've never watched
football before, you know what a difference he makes on
a on a team. Stop it. Well again, I would
pause and say the difference that he makes when Patrick
Mahomes is doing him the football and when Travis Kelsey
(53:22):
Chris I could go him the football, He's gonna be
the same. Stop it. Come on, Love, you aren't, but
you couldn't. Yes, I can. I can hand it off
to him. Come on, well, okay, handing off and throwing
are two different things broadcasting. You need to be fired.
Get him the ball anyway at least make it sound
somewhat plausible, Thank you, Bake. Pete Rites, Well, Joe Burrow
(53:43):
and Jamaar Chase at least played college football together, so
the chemistry was already there. Yeah, the chemistry will be
there once they complete their first pass. Then there's the chemistry.
Will Smith versus Chris Rocket a cage match? Yeah, I'd
pay to see that. I'd be there for it. Um
and and Pete rights. Tyreek is now the savior of
Miami according to Arnie, watch with your bad luck. He'll
(54:06):
probably get hurt in the preseason. It doesn't happen, but
it's Arnie's luck. Chris, how much should they pay Tyreek? Hielle?
How much money did they give him? My friend? Uh,
they gave him a lot of money. He became the
highest paid receiver in the national football and they didn't
give him that because he's not a difference maker. You
understand that, don't you? Uh? Well, I mean, Arnie, if
we're gonna start having a conversation about players who get
(54:27):
paid and then you don't hear from them again, we've
only got two hours, an hour and forty five minutes
left in the show. By the way, what happens if
Mahomes would have done the Tom Brady and taking a
discount like Tom Brady did all these years, would they've
been able to keep Tyreek Hill. And that's the question.
I think they offered Tyreek Kill a contract to make
(54:47):
him the highest paid receiver in the NFL and when uh,
and by the way, this is one of those things
that happens when you make a move. When Davante Adams
got traded to the Raiders and signed his deal, They're like,
all right, um, we need to talk about this again.
And at that point, I think the Chiefs said, Okay,
it wasn't progressing. I mean, I can play the Andy
(55:08):
Reid cut for your at least read the statement. But
the bottom line here is they Kansas City kind of
looked at it and said, let's go get some young receivers.
Let's see what we can do. And who knows. I
at the core of my being, I hope you're right.
I hope this works out from Miami. But I feel
like I've seen this play before and it kind of
scares me with me with Davante Adams too to the Raiders,
(55:30):
where you hear about this receiver and he's incredible, then
he goes somewhere else and he gets paid and nothing,
and it's just crickets. So none of these guys are
I think as as Wild and as Antonio Brown, where
you're gonna see him having foot problems and running out
in the middle of training camp. But I just receiver
moves don't always move the needle as much as they want.
(55:51):
Did Now they're getting paid with the new NFL, and
deservedly so. But let's see how things work for both
of these receivers, and specifically here tonight, Tyreek killing a
new system, Nate says. Arnie makes Skip seem sane. We'll
put me on TV, then let's go. Let's go um.
When we come back, we're gonna head to Vegas. Todd Furman.
(56:12):
All things in c A A tournament and NFL Free agency.
Next on Fox Sports Radio. Todd Furman coming up here
in seconds, It's Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio.
I'm still every single commercial break, Zapruder filming this video
(56:34):
on Chris Rock and Will Smith. I don't know what's
wrong with me? Did you see what they told him?
Where the stop UH press backstage have been warned against
asking Winds about anything outside of their win. Yes, I
(56:55):
heard about that, said Thomas. Has that been out there
for a while and I'm just now seeing it, or
well about half hour ago. But that goes to show
you the whole thing is real, Chris, because they're doing that.
Let's uh yeah, the whole thing's got to be real
when they have to put, you know, exclusions like that
in the whole thing so stupid. I mean, they can't
ask about what do you kick him out? Nobody cared
(57:17):
about the Oscars till Chris Rockets slapped. Anyway, we welcome
in our Oscars expert Todd firm and is in the house.
Actually Todd was probably watching I don't know, cricket match
somewhere that he's got odds on instead of this bad
boy tonight. But listen, I gotta ask for the reaction
to it, Todd, What do you think? What do you
make of a little drama at the Oscars tonight? Oh?
I thought that if we try and figure out who's
(57:39):
gonna play Joan Howard and the Fab five story, Will
Smith could definitely be front and center for that particular role.
But I think what we saw wasn't rehearsed, It wasn't
acted out it was pure raw emotion up and unlike
most people on social media that have suddenly made Will
Smith out to be the victim if that happens in
a bar, someone's arrested for assault, where somebody's ending up
(57:59):
in a body bags. So definitely created some buzz for
the oscars. Unfortunately, gentlemen, I did watch it more or
less from start to finish. Once Team USA put Panama
on a body begged earlier to night on FS one. Well,
I think you're allowed to bet that somebody was going
to get slapped to get ten thousand and one odds
on Caesar's I'm not you know, if somebody could have
found that price, darny, it would have been you or
Kevin Malone in the office, because when someone offered you
(58:21):
ten thousand and one odds and anything, you take, take
it one odds. I might have bet it that there
was gonna be asteroid issues during the show. Well, it's
dominated to talk tonight, but still it's it's fun to
think about the final four and here we are with
four essential blue bloods Kansas, Villanova, Duke in North Carolina. Overall,
(58:41):
good tournament for the books. What what do you think overall?
From the money's perspective, Todd, Yeah, it's definitely been helpful.
I'll say the shock coming through today probably didn't help
a ton, although St. Peter's had become the true public darling,
so books more than happy to see St. Peter's put
to bed, as they created a heck of a lot
of money line liability as game against perdue. The rash
(59:02):
of unders though, has really been something that the books
can put in their back pocket and profit from quite handsomely.
And you have to imagine it comes Saturday evening under
the bright lights in New Orleans, that the betting handle
between North Carolina and Duke could potentially set nearly every
record for a game we've seen. As legalization is available
in more states, people have access to those numbers. And
(59:22):
it's a true matchup, one that even the best scriptwriters
in Hollywood probably couldn't have outlined before this tournament got started.
How much would have been less in gambling and ratings
had it been St. Peter's going up against Duke instead
of North Carolina. It would have made a great story
as far as daytime television is concerned, but from a
betting standpoint, it really it wouldn't have created nearly the
same entry. Duke would have been a double digit favorite
(59:44):
in that fourteen and a half fifteen range. You would
have had people making smaller bets on St. Peter's. But
I think even with the full five days for us
to familiarize ourselves with the Casey and Depots of the
world and everyone else on that St. Peter's roster, it
wouldn't have translated anywhere close to a potential the tantem
of matchups that we do have and a potential battle
of the Titans for a national championship, regardless of how
(01:00:07):
these games play out Saturday. Kind of wild to see
how in the end, in coach K's final season, here
he is in the final four. Now, I don't think
there was any There wasn't a conspiracy theory, creating call
or anything of that nature. I just think he might
have the best player in this tournament in von Karo.
This dude could easily lead this team to a title.
(01:00:28):
He's He's that guy right now. That's why I think
Duke's got a chance to pull this off. To what
do you think, Oh, this team flat out is the
most talented team in the country, and you waited all
year long for them to play to that level of potential,
and you saw it in the regular season finale against
North Carolina where they just didn't have the energy to match,
and even through the a c C Tournament when they
were rather lethargic on the defensive end. This group is
(01:00:49):
now officially bought in. They got their wake up call,
and one through five, none of these other three teams
that they could potentially play has the talent to match
them player for player. You saw Duke utilize a little
bit of zone to throw a wrench at Arkansas and
Texas Tech in the Sweet sixteen and the Elite eight.
They've shown the ability to defend man to man and
the level of familiarity for Duke with North Carolina. It
(01:01:10):
will not be lost on the Duke Blue Devils that
they have a rare opportunity to avenge one of the
more embarrassing losses for Coach k Their coach called them
out on the floor in the wake of his retirement
celebration there that game will be completely forgotten. If Duke
goes out there and put together a complete forty minutes
and moves on a Monday Night's national title. All right, Todd,
please forgive me if I get really emotional. It's very
(01:01:33):
emotional time for me. So you're telling me, if i'd
bet a million dollars on the Dolphins to win the
Super Bowl, I'll get back forty million dollars. Is that
what you're telling me? Yeah, but you're instead of you
getting back forty million dollars, I think that million dollars
is gonna end up lining a balance sheet of one
of the sports books from here to curus out Because
when you look at the Dolphins, they've done things, Arnie,
in my opinion, that you only do when you're desperate.
(01:01:55):
Most teams build from the inside out. They try and
identify their franchise quarterback, then they get their building blocks
along the offensive line, and then they worry about the
running back end, wide receiver position. The Dolphins have done
things the other way. What good is a Tyreek Hill
or a tar In Armstead If the answer under center
is into otago vloa. You spend money on Cedric Wilson
in free agency, which now is an absolute waste in
(01:02:17):
my opinion. You'll figure out what you can give Davante
Parker away for and they put a target on their back.
In my opinion, spending thirty million dollars on a receiver
that's not a spring chicken whose entire game is predicated
on speed. For me, seems an active desperation in the
wake of all the Brian Flores controversy and what Steven
Ross wants to do to get a winner down there
in South Florida. We'll get you the best receiver in
(01:02:37):
football is so what the Raiders is at an active
desperation two or what I mean when you look at
Davanta Adams, He's not making thirty million dollars a year.
He's one of the elite route runners that's out there,
and he can be a possession receiver. So even if
some of his speed diminishes, that's not what his whole
skill set is based on. And when you look at
Tyreek Hill getting thirty million a year, Uh, it's a
(01:02:58):
little bit of a scary proposition will get him at
his best in my opinion, trying to prove that that
contract was worth it. But in years three and four,
when you have to go out there and if you're
bringing in another quarterback or you're trying to get a veteran,
that puts you really behind the eight ball. And I
do give Kansas City Credit. They went out there, they
were able to backfill a little bit, not with players
that are as explosive and jujuice Smith Schuster, Marcus Well,
(01:03:18):
Marcus val To Scanling. But at the same time they
understand how you have to construct a roster. If you're
going to continue paying Patrick Mahomes the record set in
contract that he had at the time, you have to
find more affordable options and force that franchise quarterback to
Taylor his talents and skill set around the individuals that
they have out there. When the Dolphins win, and I'm
gonna win all that money, I woulda take you and
Plank on a cruise. I would have rent out the
(01:03:40):
whole boat, and I'm gonna take all the naysayers on
a cruise next summer. Okay, we'll go ahead and do
something like that. That would be awesome, Marty. And you
know what, Plank, and I'll even save you the money.
You can take us down Church Street, you can stop
at whatever watering holes you want, and you can rent
a little pontoon boat. We'll call it a cruise and
we'll spend a night Saturday and Sunday in July and
Burlington to help me get out of a Vegas heat
(01:04:00):
and plank out of the Oklahoma heat. But as I
recall Plank when we went through something similar to this
last year, wasn't already trying to build up the Nicks
that the first year under Tom Thibodeau was only scratching
the surface, and they were going to be a legitimate
threat to win the NBA title. Not quite sure that
is exactly forgot the way that our friend the Oracle
portrayed to I know, we catch along one more quick one.
(01:04:22):
How tough has it been to kind of get a
read on the Browns maybe potential futures right now with
the unknown about how long that DeShawn Watson might be suspending. Yeah,
I think you'd take away and see approach. There's no
reason to run of the window now and back the Browns.
This will be the shortest price you'll see on them
to win the division. And if DeShawn Watson gets suspended,
like I think most of us anticipating will be, whether
(01:04:43):
it's four or six games, you're gonna get a better price. So,
if anything, you and you believe that the Baltimore Ravens
will stay healthier and they can get back to the
high level they were playing out before the rash of
injuries last year, or you think that the Bengal did
enough to fortify their offensive line and create a fortress
around Joe Burrow. You're gonna find better value in that
division with those two teams than you would betting the
Browns and tying up your money given all the uncertainty
(01:05:06):
around their franchise. Quarterback Todd Ferman Love It Ever Got
the Board podcast? Checked it out. Thanks Todd, will talk
to you next. Always a pleasure. And hey, Hardy, hold
on one second. If you're talking about Miami number one,
you must be referencing at the heat because they have
a better chance to win the NBA title in the Dolmen,
not the way they're fighting. Love this man, I love
(01:05:26):
Todd Ferman. We'll see you next time. Alright. Steve the
Seer comes rolling in with everything going on in the
world of sports. What's going on? Steve pending a physical
Albert Pooles is going back to the St. Louis Cardinals
on a one year deal, it has been confirmed by
five reporters now tonight. Initially, the deal from the Athletic
Today was that the Cards have had increased conversations with
(01:05:47):
Pooh Holes that there is a quote interest in bringing
him back for two season. There was a story about
this a couple of weeks ago, they note, and when
the club chair one was asked about he said, we've
got most of our club pretty well, said well, okay,
one year con dropped for Albert Pools. Before we get
to the hoops, I must pass along. As you've talked
(01:06:07):
about the story of the night in the world is
what happened at the Oscars in Hollywood. Context to it,
ladies and gentlemen. Chris Rock was on stage as a presenter,
just up there for that one category. Made the joke
that clearly Will Smith did not like he walked up
on stage left. The context is just a few years ago,
I believe six years ago. Chris Rock was the host
(01:06:29):
of the Oscars with a long opening monologue, and that
was the year some black performers were boycotting the Oscars,
and he made note of that and said, Jada Pinkett
Smith got mad about that she's not coming. She's protesting.
Isn't she on a TV show? This? You know, there's
a movie Awards. Chris Rocks quote was Jada is gonna
boycott the Oscars. Her boycotting the Oscars is like me
(01:06:52):
boycotting Rhanna. I wasn't invited. Oh God, forbidden enough to jokes.
I mean, my goodness, she said. Jade is mad that
her man Will Smith was not nominated for the movie Concussion.
I get it. She said, it's not fair that Will
was this good and didn't get nominated. You're right, Chris said,
it's also not fair that Will was paid twenty million
dollars for Wild Wild West. Okay, so those were in
(01:07:16):
his monologue before at the exact same stage, the exact
same occasion. And keep in mind, Will Smith, as a nominee,
has a front row seat tonight. He didn't have to
walk long down the aisle to go up on the stage.
Apparently not anymore. His wife has a bald Harrolds hairstyle.
(01:07:39):
She has talked about it openly. Meanwhile, the joke from
Chris Rock was, you know, something like can't wait for
g I Jane to kind of a slap at her.
Her immediate reaction on camera was not good. And as
Chris Rock tried to continue with his bit of onto
other things, Will Smith interrupted, And that's when you knew
that it was serious because of everything that was Blee
(01:08:00):
doubt it was long audio silence on ABC and not
in other countries. By the way, Daily Variety said what
unfolded was not planned, did not happen in rehearsals the
day before during commercial breaks, will smith publicist was speaking
to him, as did the Oscars producer, and then within
an hour, will Smith's own category comes up and he
wins Best Actor for King Richard playing the father of
(01:08:22):
Venus and Serena Williams, And so he gives his speech.
He did use the word apologize tonight, did not apologize
to Chris Rock, the guy he hit on stage during
a live telecast, and one reporter points out he didn't
thank his wife in the long speech either, who he
supposedly loves so much, and he does say does say
(01:08:43):
at the end, I hope the Academy invites you back.
It might be fake. One expert says it's fake. That
was Jesse Smollett says it's fake. By the way, what
what of the coast? Tonight? Was Amy Schumer, longtime comedian
in and she it was. It was many minutes before
she was scheduled to be back on stage after this
(01:09:05):
lap happened when it came to her time back on.
After a commercial break, she comes on and says, did
I miss something? It feels like the vibe has changed
in here. Something. He was brutal, and I couldn't even
hear what she was saying. I could, oh. She said
in her monologue talking about, you know, the in memorium
that they have for those who have passed. She said,
the in memorium this year is gonna include the Golden Globes,
(01:09:28):
which I thought was one of the great lines today.
But then when will Smith actually had his speech, he
talked about the guy he played, Richard Williams, was a
fierce defender of his family. You know, I want to
apologize to the academy again. He never mentioned Chris Rock,
So yeah, exactly, apologizing for what exactly, Well, how often
do we talk about this with athletes on shows exactly
(01:09:50):
like this? Bad apologies? The Jayhawks were down six at
the half and still beat up Miami in college hoops today,
seventy six to fifty in Chicago at the Midwest Region Final,
and yes St. Peter's is out. No fifteen seed had
ever been in a regional final. They were down nine
nothing early and lost to Carolina sixty nine forty nine
(01:10:11):
in Philly at the East Region Finals. So Saturday night,
of course, it's the late game for TV ratings, North
Carolina against Duke in a national semifinal. Before that, six
pm Eastern Kansas Duke Pema Chapel, six pm Eastern, It's
Kansas against Villanova this Saturday. The Lakers, you know, might
(01:10:32):
not even make the playing game at this point, because
they were coming into tonight ninth in the West, New
Orleans tenth, not anymore. Lakers were up twenty at the
half and still lost at New Orleans one, sixteen to
one oh eight Lebron James thirty nine points, Boston one
at six straight Phoenix one. It's eighth in a row.
US men soccer is todd reference to five one victory
(01:10:52):
on FS one. Tonight in a World Cup qualifier being
Panama in Orlando, US was up three nothing after thirty minutes.
The Americans when they were at Panama in October actually
lost one nothing, shockingly because before that game, the Americans
all time record against Panama was sixteen and one with
six ties. So the US, even though they're not first
place fat Canada one today to clinch a World Cup spot.
(01:11:14):
The US Wheel clinch a spot Wednesday in the finale
at Coastreak, and they would have to lose and lose
badly in order to be uh go that far down
in the standings and lose a type breaker. Back to you,
Thanks Steve. It's Arni and Plank on Fox Sports Radio.
It's been a kind of a weird show, right because
we've had the debates. This is our first show together
(01:11:35):
since the Tyreek Kill move, which went down in like
two hours on what was Monday or Tuesday last week.
I tweeted that out to something I'm not tweeted out.
I have a chat room that I played basketball with
a bunch of buddies, and I put that out and
immediately people go, yeah right, yeah right. I'm like, no,
it's really gonna happen. You're better check Twitter right now.
It's starting to come on down. So they didn't believe
(01:11:58):
me at all. We were I do a lot cool show,
and we were live on the air and we started
our second hour and my co host Josh Helmer, who
lives in every Sunday night, what's up, Josh um? He said, Bro,
there's another I think it was Rappaport, who tweeted. At
first he goes, there's another Ian Rappaport report about a
potential big trade. I'm like, really like, don't don't tell me,
(01:12:19):
tell me on the air. And I could since he
was a little bit like Chook because he's a cheese fan. Right,
and then it's like tyreek Kill could be traded. He's
been given the opportunity to explore trades. Well, that hits
literally at eleven a m eastern tin Am centchel. An
hour and a half later, the trades done done. And then,
(01:12:41):
by the way, I will say, I love all the
NFL experts. I think you guys are the best. Some
of you batting average, little low Nina rally get some reports.
But when people start saying, yeah, we had heard this
for days. No, no, no, you had it, because if
you would have heard it, you wouldn't keep your mouth shut,
would have said, well, you're not even hearing this, it
(01:13:02):
just made me so mad. I don't know if though
I've ever seen anything Arnie that went from hey, this
is possible to this is done. That's quickly. I mean
that was Russell Wilson had been rumored for a year, right,
and when it actually happened. It was pretty sudden this.
I mean, we felt like they had the three headed
monster in Kansas City for a long time to come.
(01:13:24):
Right in Hill, Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes. They weren't
going anywhere. They're gonna dominate the a f C West
for years to come. I mean, in the span of
an hour and a half, Arnie, it was over. And
I gotta be honest with you, I'd love that Miami
gave up a bunch of meaningless picks. I was about
to say nothing, nothing, a first round pick, a third
(01:13:47):
round pick on a fourth and fifth or something like that,
except for the first round pick, which you'll botch anyway.
Meaningless picks, absolutely meaningless. So um, they got a bargain.
It's just all the money they're gonna have to pay Hill.
That's that's the problem. It's still one of the wildest
days every Now, Like I said, we're gonna be fighting
for like six months about this, and I hope it.
(01:14:09):
I hope it's the greatest death blow to this chief's
run that we've seen. Oh, it's gonna be. There's no
doubt in my mind it's gonna be. As I just
I feel like I've seen it. Just like through the
first six weeks of the season, Mahomes has been figured out.
This Chief's offense is broke. Next thing you know, they're
playing in the ANFC Championship. Probably should have gone to
the Super Bowl. So I just I feel like I've
seen this play before. Um, now there's an opportunity where
(01:14:33):
one of the actors has changed. If I'm just all
in on this play analogy, but what something has changed, Arnie.
That's a major major part of this in Kansas City. Yes,
Mahomes is still there. Yes, Andy Reid is still there,
Travis Kelsey, the offensive line looks pretty loaded, but man,
Tyreek Hill just seemed to be such an integral part
of that offense. Absolutely, And what happens when they start
off with the two and four records this time around, Um,
(01:14:55):
what are the fans going to say? I can't imagine
Kansas City fans are like, yeah, we follow the got
rid of that bump Tyreek Hill. I gotta imagine it's
like eighty or disappointed that he's not on the team anymore.
When we come back. The Segar all in on the
slap herd round the world. Plus a little buy or
sell and we still have to get in which move
has the potential to be the biggest bust, Which move
(01:15:17):
has the potential to be the biggest benefit for their team.

(01:16:03):
come back from the break to the song five miles.
Will Smith did not have to walk that long. I
must mention the name tonight of Lucia Harris. I was
on the air a couple of months ago when she
passed away and I mentioned that story. I got to
see some of the documentary about her on NBA TV
this week. This is a documentary that was up for
(01:16:24):
the Oscar tonight. She was one of the great women's
basketball players before the n c a A sanctioned women's
basketball in the early eighties, so when women's hoops came
into the Olympics, she was on the US team with
Ann Myers and others San Donovan that made the finals
at the nineties six games she at her Delta State
team she was from, Mississippi, won three straight college national
(01:16:45):
championships with her scoring about points a game at six
ft three. So this documentary Queen of Basketball has been
aired on NBA TV. I assume they'll show it again
because tonight it won the Oscar for Short Subject Documentary,
with among the executive producers Steph Curry and Shaquille O'Neil.
(01:17:06):
Just for the record and to ten second clips from
the Will Smith speech tonight as he accepted Oscar for
Best Actor. After all the let's just say shenet against
it went on earlier in the ceremony, This will at
least give you an idea of the two and a
half minute speech. I'm being called on in my life
(01:17:27):
to love people and to protect people. Okay, who is
it protecting? Okay, there's more rock in this business. You
gotta be able to have people disrespecting you, and you
gotta smile and you gotta pretend like that's okay. And
(01:17:50):
then he noted that the guy he played, Richard williams
Venus and Serena's father, that he was a protector of
the family, and on and on again. He used the
word apologize. But as soon as the speech finished, the
l A Times for One said he should win an
oscar for that speech. Yeah, exactly. Well even he didn't
thank his wife, did he or anything like that. I
did not hear him thank his worf. By the way,
(01:18:10):
did you see the best part of this tonight is
that Stephen A. Smith started tweeting at Will Smith, and
he tweeted at the wrong Will Smith. There are many
at Will Smith is a video game creator and a
podcaster in San Francisco, and Stephen A. Smith starts unloading
on him, and the tweet's got like seventeen thousand likes
(01:18:31):
and his poor soap is just sitting there like, Wow,
half of my he's got a hundred sixty one thousand followers,
probably half of them think he's real Smith. So yeah,
let's keep in mind the baseball playoffs just two seasons
ago where the Dodgers Will Smith homered off the Braids
reliever Will Smith. So there are there are common name.
Sorry about that at Will Smith, but you need to
(01:18:51):
be better. Yeah, somebody tweeted something like, yeah, this is
why he went to bell Air in the first place.
Wasn't this anyway? We got the Final four coming up
this weekend, and keep in mind we had already previously
previously got the list of eleven that are up for
the Basketball Hall of Fame this year. The class of
two gets announced at the final four. Monto Genobli is
a finalist. Four coaches are finalists, including Bob Huggins and
(01:19:14):
George Carl. Referee Hugh Evans a finalist. Also up for
the Hall this year, Tim Hardaway, Michael Cooper, Marcus Johnson,
Swin Cash, and Lindsay Whale in the first time finalists again,
we'll find out this weekend. The n i T Semifinals
are Tuesday night that includes Texas A and M against
Washington State. Those first four teams out the teams that
(01:19:35):
just missed the n C double as. Those are the
four one seeds for the n I t that included Texas,
A and m The cb I Tournament final was this week.
It went to double overtime Wednesday with u n C
Wilmington's take it. And there's still the c I T
They just call it the Basketball Classic and it's still
going on. It was an eighteen team tournament. The quarterfinals
ended yesterday with a game at Southern Utah, which they won.
(01:19:57):
So they have a semifinal at Fresno State on Monday.
And can't say enough about the standings of the NBA
because the Boston Celtics, with six straight wins, are now
tied for first in the East with Miami, which has
lost four in a row, and there are two other
teams only a half game back as we near the
end of the regular season. And in the West, while
(01:20:20):
Phoenix has run away with things, we've got the Lakers
now and only a game ahead of San Antonio. If
you're in eleventh, you're not even going to the play
in How funny. It has not been a good season
in l A. So we'll ignore it. We'll bury it
when we come back here on Fox Sports Radio. Thanks
Steve to Seger. We got a full hour, A little
buyer sell already's picks coming up to wrap this show up,
(01:20:43):
and yes, more talk about the Dolphins going to the
Super Bowl and the slap herd round the world. It's
already in plank a Fox Sports Radio. I still love
the fact that we're like three hours moved from when
Chris Rock got slapped by Will Smith and there's still
(01:21:05):
this debate of whether or not it was real by
some Oh wait, do you watch TV tomorrow morning? Wait?
Did he even? Even the sports shows are gonna be
talking about this on the debate shows. I think it
was real. I think it was fake. It was real.
It was fake. We'll be back after this. Hire me
Fox Sports one. I'm available. Um So, we got a
lot to get to this hour. I feel like, obviously
(01:21:27):
this story is kind of taking center stage and if
you're just tuning in tonight, uh, Will Smith walked up
and slapped Chris Rock in the middle of a joke
that he made about his wife and then proceeded when
the Best Actor Award did Will Smith later that evening,
I've got like a page six report up right now
that I was reading during the break. It's got to
be one of the most vague reports I've ever seen
(01:21:48):
in my life. I mean, no offense to Francessa Baccardi.
But when it says Page six has exclusively learned that
Will Smith and Chris Rock are expected to work out
their issues after the slap, wait, what the hell does that?
Thank you? I have sources that have told me that
they will talk again. Go with that in your next
(01:22:10):
update to Segers, say that they're expected to attend the
Vanity Fair Oscars match. I mean, all of that is
stuff I know, New York. I mean, okay, first of all,
I need to be on Fox Sports one right because
I can do the debate shows now. Uh. And and
I need to be writing for Page six because that
report sucks. Uh any anyway, it's it's dominated the talks.
(01:22:32):
It's been an all time night on Twitter, to be
honest with you, and now I'm just kinda let the script.
Something is the first thing you're gonna say to uh,
to Chris Rock, Hey, you're gonna take a shot at
my wife, and then I'm gonna come up really upset.
I mean, you don't even plan something like that. You
never said. Yeah, I'm gonna let you say something and
something about my wife and then I'm gonna come up
(01:22:52):
and slap you. It doesn't play like that. Okay, I'm
gonna play Devil's advocate here because as we kick off

a forty eight interview Sonic h D TV thanks to
(01:23:35):
view Sonic. All right, let me get wet bitcoin. That's
what I hear. I think we get. The whole left
out is what we get this year for the winner.
You don't have to worry about that though. Um here's
the thing that I'm intrigued by. You say, well, how
could they come up with something like that? Why would
they even think about that. You're talking about a TV
(01:23:59):
show that nobody cares about, that is tanking in the ratings,
and you've got some of the best minds in Hollywood
that are writing a script for this. So when you
said I think it was real, I think he got
fired up. I think he saw his wife was fired
up and he just decided he was going to slap
the s out of him. But if it was stage,
(01:24:22):
I could totally see how you would have the writers
get together and say, all right, here's what we'll do.
Who's the last who's the most popular person up for
Best Actor this year, or who's the most popular guy
for any award? Or a female even that, I probably
Will Smith right of anyone who would make an impact.
I think you're not gonna tell Will Smith to drop
(01:24:43):
f bombs on TV. You know in movies, well, why
was it able to air in other countries but not
in ours? By the way, they have much different standards
as far as that is concerned. I mean, listen, I
guess I guess Denzel Washington wat up, walking up and
slapping him would have made a little bit more of
an impact. But I don't think Denzel Washington is someone
(01:25:06):
you could have talked into Benedict Cumbered. Batch might have
hurt his arms slapping him, same for for Andrew Garfield.
So I don't know, Arnie, I I kind of there's
a part of me that when you're like, I don't
see how they could have worked this, I absolutely see
how they could have worked it. I want to read
a tweet we got in from Josh who says, stinking genius?
Is this the E channel? Is this entertainment tonight? Is
(01:25:29):
Kevin Fraser on there? I don't care who slapped to
stick the sports? Stay in your lane, Okay, let's get
back to sports. Then said why we get hundreds of
tweets to night? Why do you always just tweet read
either the ones that tell you how great you are are,
(01:25:51):
like the worst tweets to the show, like Pete's been
on fire tonight, you see it, like Dodger Frank has
had some good tweets tonight, and yet you read the
one guy that like hates you. Why why would you
do that? Or me? I guess mine? Hey my fault, Josh.
Someone just slap the ass out of someone live on TV.
That might end up being something that we talked about
(01:26:12):
quite a bit whenever Ben Mallory's mixing up to gobbing
a nooche job of good whatever, I'm willing to bet
it's gonna be in the mix here this sea. What
does uh the oscars slapping somebody in the face and
a cheeseburger having common I'm gonna talk together. Listen. I
appreciate your wanting to stick to sports, but to say,
(01:26:34):
stay in your lane, but I don't think you need
to stay in your lane to talk about someone slapping
the s out of someone else. I don't. I don't
think that's a situation. Damn you, Arny, how dare you
have a take on someone slapping someone else. It's not
like it's it's too unknowns. It's not like, hey, do
you see that one dude that was a supporting actor
in La Shakat or something like that. We're talking about
(01:26:55):
two big names and in the industry, in the entertainment industry.
By the way, I think that's the best part of
this whole thing is that the movie Arnie had to
go through go to is let schock a lot, which
is I mean, what year was that up for? Years ago? Yeah?
(01:27:17):
All right, well, listen, Josh, I apologize for ruin your
flow tonight. Let's do get back to sports. Like Kevin Fraser,
He's a buddy of mine, so on Fox Sports that
show entertainment Pete Rights. In all seriousness, I could see
Tyreek Kill being a bust. He's gone from the creativity
of read and be enemy to the unproven coaches of Miami.
(01:27:38):
Plus he went from playing with the Hall of Famer
to right now a big bust in two. Wow, when
you're that good, it doesn't really make a difference. Maybe
your production will be down a little bit, but it
really doesn't matter who's throwing to you the football. He
knows that that's why you went to Miami. Well, he
went to Miami for the money, but I'm gonna pretend
like he went to Miami for too. I'm surprised that
(01:28:00):
more people haven't jumped on one thing. And I know
Danny and I have talked about this in our Raider
Homer conversations that we've had, But Davante Adams chose Derek
Carr over Aaron Rodgers like the money was similar. I
mean the money was almost the exact same. Nobody talking
enough about that and why, and I get it. Some
would say, well they went to Fresno State together again,
(01:28:22):
that was what nine years ago? I mean, it's that's
a minute in the NFL world. That's not like real
life where nine years seems like last week. When you
get in your forties, it's like, dude, when do we
do that like last week? No, dude, that was like
seven years ago. It's just life flies by when you
get older. But I gotta tell you something, man, I
think that's an under talked about story here. No one
(01:28:44):
wants to believe. I'm not saying it's anything negative about Aaron.
I'm not trying to go over the top about Derek
Carr here, but it's got me feeling some kind of
way with how much Derek Carr gets disrespected constantly, that
one of the best receivers in the game, who's constantly
gone to championship aims that made the playoffs suddenly says
I want to go to the Raiders. I think it's
(01:29:05):
a slap in the face. Obviously to Rogers, I think
there wasn't a slap in the face. Why isn't it
he gave him. How many years was Aaron Rodgers and
Vante Adams together? You gave him? So I always that
always pisces me off to know it. Thunder fans were like,
that was Kevin Durant's like, what do you ever do
for us? Like he gave you eight years and took
you to an NBA final and make the franchise relevant.
(01:29:26):
So when your when your wife divorces, you're gonna she's
gonna say, well, I gave your twelve good years. What
more do you want for me? It's not a marriage,
it's a business. It's a business guy. Go ahead, Bobbo.
I just want Arnie to know that. Uh, new FCC
regulations have said that we cannot use slap in the
face anymore. Good luck trying to work that one. And
now the rest of the way. But you don't remember
(01:29:49):
fan goes shop now. I just I always that. I
don't know why. Maybe that's a trigger, Maybe that's me
not being all that great and a person. But Davante
Adams was there for eight seasons. No receiver in the
history of Aaron Rodgers has caught more touchdown passes from
him then Davante Adams. Davante Adams doesn't know Aaron Rodgers
(01:30:12):
or Green Bay anything. No, you're right about that, but
he still says a lot when the guy who I mean,
if you're talking about you know, all the best quarterbacks, uh,
and that you're just willing to walk away from when
the money was closed to be in the same you know,
did you not want to be in Green Bay or
did you not want to be around Aaron Rodgers? What's
what's the answer there? Maybe, and this is a crazy maybe,
(01:30:36):
maybe he wanted to play with Derek Carr. Maybe he
kind of dug what was going on in Vegas and
card have been selling him on him. I mean, Arnie,
I mean, I could work ten Brazilian hypotheticals. But if
you have one of your best friends constantly saying, dude,
it is awesome here, you and I would crush it here.
You've got to Tom here, you gotta hang. We would
crush it. I know you're killing it at Fox Sports
(01:30:57):
Radio with Plank and your um, your mistress, Mark Willard
or or Aaron Tauris whomever else you're doing shows with,
but you gotta come here. I mean you're gonna listen,
and you might be swayed quite a bit too. If
it's one of your boys and they're gonna pay you
twenty million dollars, ago do it? Too, and you're going
to a place with no state income tax. Well that's
a big thing. Also, you're right about that. Um, I
(01:31:20):
think Kansas City told him we're not giving you that
type of money, so you better go ahead and find
yourself another deal or you better come to grips with it.
And that's when he told his agent, We're gonna go
ahead and get another deals ahead. Danny and I have
been going back and forth on Miss NonStop. Yeah. One
thing that stood out in his press conference as he
was welcomed there at the new facilities in Las Vegas,
(01:31:41):
he said that a lot of his decision had to
do not only with Derek Carr and growing up wanting
to be a Raider as a Raiders fan and coming
from a Raiders family, but he wanted his grandparents to
watch him play in person. They've never been able to
do that. Now his dad can drive from East Palo
Alto to Vegas to watch and play, and both sets
of grandparents can now see him play. And he said
(01:32:04):
that just life things like that had a lot to
do with his decision, and it took ab eight years.
He couldn't have looked before eight years of Funny how
that works, well, Arnie, what would you rather do wake
up to a snowplow or wake up to your mansion
in Las Vegas where your family can join you. Um.
There's one story though here when Fox Sports Radio on
(01:32:24):
this Sunday night and Arnie elevating the Dolphins from an
okay team to the Super Bowl winners. Don't have to
watch the season this year? It's over, uh and some
days conversations about the final four. We we haven't really
talked about the week that was in Cleveland, And part
of that is because I feel like it's still spilling
(01:32:44):
over to now because kind of like everything going forward
now with Tyreek Kill, it's going to be attached to
how Kansas City does without him. Same thing with Davante
Adams and Aaron Rodgers. Um. I mean there's several different
scenarios we can talk about with with players that left
and their team is being better or worse without him.
But everything with DeShawn Watson and Cleveland's future army also
(01:33:06):
seems to be tagged with. Okay, what happens with Baker Mayfield? Right,
because we know a the Browns, I mean, Baker can't
come back to Cleveland. Three quarterbacks on the roster. Eventually
you're gonna cut him at some point. Um, But I
I don't two things. I know that we do a
radio show and we're supposed to have these takes and
(01:33:26):
and these hot takes or however you want to phrase it.
I'm feeling some kind of way with the Deshaun Watson
story and I'm not liking it. And I don't know why.
We've we've had two weeks right to figure this out,
and this has I want to make this very clear.
This has nothing to do with my home arism for
Baker Mayfield, whom I think is gonna go somewhere and
be great. I really do. If it's Pittsburgh, if it's Seattle,
if it's Caroline, even though it doesn't look like it's
(01:33:48):
gonna be Caroline, I think he's gonna have a good
NFL career. Everyone thought Drew Brees was done, the Chargers
punted on him. Guess what he wanted super Bowl. Not
trying to compare Baker to Drew Brees, but it's happened,
same with Rich Cannon. So that said, how does how
does Deshaun Watson end up with the richest contract and
then have a press conference where I don't know. I
just I felt I felt a little bit dirty after
(01:34:10):
that press conference. Well when the owners weren't even there,
right they were gonna go old press conference by skyping.
I think the whole thing was a sham. It's embarrassing,
it really is. Um. I feel bad for Baker Mayfield
one because he I think he is a good guy too.
I think he's a good quarterback. Um. I really think
he's gonna be successful in this league if they keep
(01:34:32):
him on the team. I don't know how they could
even work that out. I don't even know if that's
possible or that's just a bunch of maloney. I think
he's gonna do well in the NFL, but I think
the way this whole thing came down, I don't know
how to answer you on how DeShawn Watson got the
richest contract. And by the way, you want to talk
about feeling dirty, UM feel dirty that the Browns gave
him a one million dollar salary his first year, so
(01:34:54):
when he gets suspended, it won't cost him that much.
Um uh, financially con here to the other four years
of the contract. So I've got the audio from it.
I don't even like playing it. I'm just I'm not
trying to be holier than now, but any stretching the imagination,
it's just uh and I and I understand the football
side of it. I completely understand the football side of it. Right,
(01:35:15):
You've got a chance into Shawn Watson, who, with his
skill set and what we've seen in his career, is
a guy that's going to be in the m v
P conversation every year. If this is just about on
the field, I can't argue with it. It's great trade.
Go get your quarterback man already. That baggage that comes
with this is concerning with what appears to be so
(01:35:36):
much still up in the air and a press conference.
It's relevant again this week because a press conference has
happens this week and I don't feel like we got
any resolution at all. We still don't know how many
games he's gonna miss. And the NFL. You and I
went back and forth on this last week. The NFL
just can't go six games, and it's gonna be six games.
I think it's gonna be three, Okay, the NFL can't
(01:35:56):
say three games. And then suddenly what a grand jury
says we're gonna pursue charges and then you're like, WHOA,
they can't do that. They already said he's done nothing criminal. Well,
there's a couple of other counties that are involved in this,
So we're talking about one, uh and two, and I
think there's there's one more that could potentially be in
front of a grand jury. I get, like I said,
(01:36:19):
my hardest thing to understand in all of this because
I'm a big innocent until proven guilty guy. Just twenty
two people involved in this, not one or two or
three two, and that's where the problem comes. And not
all of their stories seem to have a little bit
of a different hint intint to it. So I don't
if you think it's only gonna be three games for this, yeah,
(01:36:40):
because I don't think they already said he hasn't done
anything criminals. So I don't think you can give him
six games. I think it's gonna be in the three
to four range. I think he's gonna get a season, dude,
Oh no, Yeah. I think that's why they gave him
the guarantee this year. I don't think they're gonna look
at last year as time served and then he's gonna
sit down two years. That's that. It's kind of my
(01:37:00):
hunch that's the way. I don't all at the very
least half of next year. But the thing that sucks
is if he does and you're the Browns, you have
first round pick next year. So it's not like you
could sit and and be any better. I just does
the NFL give any indication of these teams, like if
Andrew Barry or Jimmy Haslum called up, where they be like, yeah,
(01:37:23):
you know, we're looking in the three to six range
right now, it's a suspension or can they not do that? Well,
maybe they've got like a how there's a you know,
bracketologists type God, then they have a suspension type guy
in there in there, you know, on their team saying
what do you think he's going again? What does this
guy going to get? You know, and trying to try
to pick their brains. Wouldn't that be just a wild
(01:37:46):
job to have? Al Right, what do you do? Well?
I try to guess how long suspensions are gonna be
for guys. This was the one quote though they did
kind of stand out. And if there is one thing
to Shaun Watson has been in this old saga, it's
definitely defiant. It's hard for me to say the counseling
park because I don't have a problem. You know, I don't.
I don't have an issue. That's what I've been saying
(01:38:08):
from the beginning. So the situation is is deaf is tough,
and it's very difficult. But me as a as a
having a problem going to counseling things like that, I'm
willing to talk to people about circumstitience situations to make
sure I'm not getting back in this. Well. He does
have a problem. His problem is what to do. People
are were accusing him of something, So I mean either
he's the most luckiest guy in the world or or
(01:38:30):
something going on there. I still think it's gonna be
fascinating to see what happens with Baker Mayfield because in
my mind, I think the best thing for him could
be a place like Tampa to learn a year under Brady,
or a place like Pittsburgh, where I'm sorry, he's starting
next year. If he goes to Pittsburgh, he'll beat out
Mitchell Drabinsky. But it's it's attached to this, it'll be
a story. We'll dive into it. It's a busy night.
(01:38:53):

Peters was still in it. I do too. They got
smoke today. How did they beat Perdue? How do they beat?
How they beat? What was it? How they can Kentucky?
My god, I love that listen. I had Kentucky winning
(01:39:57):
the championship and one of my brackets I had him
as a alive final for national championship team. I thought
that they were peeking at the right time, and they
got beat by St. Peter's and then the St. Peter's
coach do you see him vamoose right out of town. Yeah,
he's alma mater, so he's going back. So like Monday
or Tuesday, you know, well, everybody enjoys their time or
(01:40:18):
did you have to take it right away? I don't
understand that, Arnie. We're gonna pay you ten times what
you make. Okay, let's tuesday, see you later. No, if
they want you, there, you go. And I don't blame
him at all for that. But real quick before we
hit a couple of other NFL notes here, has it
been a good tournament? Have you? Have you enjoyed what
(01:40:41):
you've seen so far from the n c A Besides
Arizona losing, it's been okay, it's been about a beat tournament.
I mean, um, we haven't had a lot of buzzer beaters.
We've had some upsets though, so um, I've enjoyed it.
I just you know, we had St. Peter's is our
big story. Number one's got eliminated except for one of
them that's Kansas. So oh yeah, a little bit of everything.
I think we've enjoyed it. So Artie, something is is?
(01:41:03):
I guess that's really all we have. Kudos to North
Carolina moving on today, Kansas rolled. I mean, I I've
got some post games sound here that we can play,
but I just felt like today was kind of anticlimactic.
The u c l A North Carolina game was amazing.
The other night I was complete was at the Sweet
six team game. Heck your your Arizona game against Houston.
(01:41:24):
I kept thinking that Arizona would make a run, and
it never happened. TCU game was exciting though, no doubt
about that. Is that wild to think that was a
week ago. I'm just sitting here as we're talking about it,
and a week ago I was like, whoa, that was
last Sunday night and suddenly you're down to four. It's
just I love the n c A tournament. I hate
the when you lose, it's over. She's like dawn, guys,
(01:41:46):
careers are over, Guys, times in teams, uniforms over. It's
just Dawn finished by. Don't have a lot of seniors
on their team. I don't even know. I don't I
know one dude. It's the guy that got the Buffalo
wild wing steel tip. But I just I think, I think,
but I'm just I love the St. Peter's run, kind
of like the Oral Roberts run or you run last year? Um,
(01:42:10):
I love listen. I kind of love what Miami did
this year. But for the most part, today was a man.
Today was one of those days where, even if we
didn't have Will Smith walked on stage and smack Chris Rock,
I'm pretty sure a majority of the show would have
been Tyreek killed to Miami regard by the way, I
just saw. You know how many you know what the
(01:42:30):
record is of North Carolina against Duke in the n tournament.
What's that? Zero and zero? They've never faced each other.
They've never faced each other in the n c A tournament. Well, well,
they would never play in the first or second round
probably so, but they you know they and they always
make it where you're in different regions. You would think
they would have faced maybe once or twice if you
(01:42:52):
think about it. But I was surprised when I saw that. Also,
I don't think that's right. Is that what you always
say whenever any status, But it's they've met two fifty
times over the course of their history, but they have
never met in then tournament. When they split this year's
season series, North Carolina of course won the most recent
game when they smoked Duke on Coach K's last game
(01:43:15):
and uh than Duke won the earlier game A Duke
destroy It's funny because Duke destroyed North Carolina in Chapel
Hill and North Carolina destroyed destroyed Duke and Cameron indoor.
It's it makes zero sense as this tournament quicksidebar real
quick on the tournament. Iowa came into this tournament arguably
(01:43:36):
the hottest team going right, won the Big Tin Tournament
five twelve matchup, get beat by Richmond, Virginia Tech. Arnie
comes in scorching. I mean they did they win. They
won the a CC tournament playing great basketball out in
the first round against a Texas team who, by the way,
lost in their first game in the Big twelve tournament
(01:43:57):
to TCU, and they're both at Let me flip kid
Kentucky playing really good basketball down the stretch boom out
in the first round. Let me flip it just a bit.
Iowa State scored thirty four points in their last home
game and ended up in the sweet sixteen. It doesn't
make any sense. The n c A Tournament made no
sense this year, but we end up with four blue
(01:44:18):
bloods Villanova, Kansas. It's gonna be fun. And then of
course Duke North Carolina in the other final four game.
Now real quick before the Saga wraps it up with
one more update. Well, you know, I gotta say this
till after the break because we're running behind. But I
have a little trivia for you, Arnie. It involves NFL
Draft trivia. So get your brain thinking quarterbacks in the
NFL draft, All right, quarterbacks in the NFL Draft. Will
(01:44:39):
get to it in a minute, But one final time tonight,
Steven Sager comes rolling in to get a scot up
on everything in the world of sports and entertainment. What's up, Steve?
It is true, and it is fairly amazing. There's never
been a North Carolina versus Duke game in the But
keep in mind, until the mid nineteen seventies, a conference
wasn't allowed to have more than one team in then,
(01:45:01):
so even when Duke was good in the sixties, that
would have been impossible for them to play each other
because only one could go. I mean, it's like USC
had good basketball teams while Kareem was playing at u c.
L A. And guess who made the tournament from the
pack whatever it was eight back then. That's just those
were the rules. And yes you mentioned. The tar Heels
won at Duke to end the regular season and then
both teams lost to Virginia Tech in the conference tournament.
(01:45:24):
Duke won the a c C standings by one game
over Carolina. That will be the late game the rematch
this Saturday night at the Final four A National semi
with North Carolina against Duke. Because the tar Heels eliminated St.
Peter's tonight sixty nine to forty nine. The Heels led
nine nothing early late first half, it was thirty four
thirteen and pretty much over Armando Baycot twenty points, twenty
(01:45:45):
two rebounds for the winners, and the tar Heels program
advances to a record twenty first Final four. St. Peter's
shott from the floor. No fifteen seed had ever been
in a regional final. Kansas, one seed in the Midwest,
eliminated Miami seven six to fifty. Miami only six field
goals made in the entire second half, six of eight.
The Hurricanes were in their first ever regional final. For
(01:46:07):
the game from three point range, Miami was three for one.
They were actually ahead by six at the half, and
then the Jayhawks outscored him in the second half seven
to fifteen. So Saturday to open things at the Final
Four in New Orleans six pm Eastern time, it'll be
Kansas against Villanova. Kansas has one nine in a row.
Villanova has won nine in a row. Villanova guard Justin
(01:46:28):
Moore will have surgery this week for a torn achilles
suffered last night women's hoops regional final wins for South
Carolina and Stanford. In the NBA, the Lakers were up
twenty at the half and still lost at New Orleans
one s oh eight. The Lakers were ninth place in
the Western Conference, with New Orleans right behind him, and
now Pelicans not only win they owned the typebreaker over
(01:46:49):
the Lakers. Keep that in mind for the next couple
of weeks if we have a say tie involving the
two of them for tenth place. Even getting into the
play in Brandon Ingram, the ex Laker twenty six points,
he had just missed the last three weeks due to
a sore hamstring. Lebron James thirty nine points. He played
near the end despite a bad ankle. Golden State since
(01:47:09):
Steph Curry's foot injury, has lost five of six. They
lost at Washington tonight and Jordan Pool from three point
range was one for ten Wizards one fifteen the final.
Boston is tied for first. They've won six in a row.
They've won twenty four of their last twenty eight games
after beating Minnesota. Jayson Tatum thirty four points, Jyaln Brown
thirty one, James Harden for Philadelphia two of eleven shooting
(01:47:33):
and nine assists in the loss at Phoenix one one
oh four Sons of one eight straight, Devin Booker thirty
five points, Joel and Beat thirty seven points in the
Laws but Chris Paul fourteen assists, just one turnover. Suns
had already clinched home court advantage with a win last Thursday.
They're now sixty one and fourteen on the season, and
the Phoenix Suns when leading after three quarters and oh,
(01:47:56):
it's it's almost as if McVeigh as their coach. Dallas
beat Utah Luke godon Sits thirty two points, Charlotte one
at Brooklyn, LaMelo Ball thirty three points. Kyrie Irving played
the home game tonight and was six of twenty two
from the floor. NHL Pittsburgh and eleven to two victory
at Detroit Minnesota's won six straight After the overtime victory
over Colorado. The Diamondbacks gape second baseman Kettel Marte a
(01:48:19):
five year extension and St. Louis will sign Albert Pools
one year two and a half million dollars MLB opening
days Thursday, April seven in Austin, Texas. Ross Chastain was
the NASCAR winner, his first career Cup Series victory. Alex
Bowman finished second. Next Sunday's races at Richmond, also on
Fox TV. Golf was this weekend in Austin, Texas, and
the matchplay final went to Scottie Scheffler, who with the
(01:48:41):
victory moves up to number one in the world Golf rankings,
and he won his semifinal this morning against Dustin Johnson
before beating Kevin Kissner in the final. And US men
soccer a five one winner tonight on FS one in Orlando,
beating Panama in a World Cup qualifier. This Wednesday, the
US plays it's finale and qualifying at Coast Arika. Top
three in this region go to the World Cup. Canada's
(01:49:03):
in first, US and Mexico are still tied for second.
Canada did win today, so mathematically they have qualified for
their first World Cup since nine In fact, this Friday
is the World Cup draw to set the schedule. And
as we opened with St. Peter's Talk, let's close with
the St. Peter's of World Soccer. North Macedonia eliminated Italy
this past week and now takes on Portugal and Cristiano
(01:49:26):
Ronaldo on Tuesday in the playoff final in Europe. Winner
goes to the World Cup, either Portugal or North Macedonia,
not both. Fact. You look at that, love, It's something tonight.
I'll be googling country names all right. Um. Academy has
come out with a statement. Oh go ahead, it's not
(01:49:48):
a long one. It's not a long one. The Academy
does not condone violence of any form. Tonight we are delighted,
dissolve it or Academy Award winners who deserve this moment
of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world.
That's it. That's all you get, Chris, that's all you're
getting there. That's their statement. That's their statement. There you go.
(01:50:09):
We revel in the fact that you people are talking
about our incredible awards show, which has been mired in
obscurity for the last decade because nobody cares about movie
stars anymore. But tonight we brought you fire and showed
you what Hollywood's all about. So thank you for paying it.
That said, will Smith have slap Ricky Gervais, I say no,
he wouldn't have done that, and he's offensive too. Um yo, yeah,
(01:50:33):
I would wouldn't have been great Ricky Gervaistan. What if
it was the rock that was doing the stand up?
Would Will Smith still walk up and slap the knock
in his face? I don't know. Watch out, hold up,
Arnie talking a little bit too much about entertainment here
can't make good. I would have been good with Kevin
Frasier and Artie spanning your entertainment tonight. Kevin used to
(01:50:56):
be on Fox Sports Radio. That's he's making all right
trip you are you ready? I was reading Peter King's
Football Morning in America and they were theorizing where Malik
Willis could go in the draft. Because Okay, as we
sit here on sorry, I constantly have to check the
date March as we shift into a Monday in the
(01:51:17):
Central and Eastern time zones, I think it's become pretty
obvious that the first quarterback that's gonna go will be
Malik Willis. Now that can change. We could see maybe
a little bit of buzz for a Kinney Picket or
or maybe a Matt Corrall who's coming off the injury.
But I think the overriding sense right now is that
(01:51:37):
Willis is going to be the first quarterback off the board.
But I don't I don't know about you. Like Detroit
has two and thirty two in the first round, Houston
has three and thirteen. I maybe Carolina at six. But
do you realize the last time in an NFL draft
(01:51:58):
we didn't have a quarterback go on the top five?
Do you know what it was? By the way, Uston
that only has three, they don't have number thirteen that
got traded. I thought, so do they trade thirteen? Alright,
I'm just going back. Yeah, it says three or thirteen
for Houston. Double check that real quick. But the last
time a quarterback didn't go in the top five was
two thousand and thirteen when E J. Manuel went sixteenth
(01:52:18):
in the first round. It's even wilder. It's only happy Eagles.
Do you think the Eagles have fifteen, sixteed and nineteen? Right?
I think he's gone by fifteen, sixteen, and nineteen. Well,
they can always move up if I think to get him.
But already the point is, it's only happened twice in
twenty two years that a quarterback hasn't gone in the
top five. Two thousand thirteen was the last time. Do
(01:52:40):
you know what it was before that? It was two
thousand when Chad Pittington went eighteenth overall in the first round.
We're on a current run of four straight drafts with
quarterbacks going number one overall and six of the last seven.
Now it expands out and there's been long runs where
it's been them but quarterbacks. I think from uh, two
(01:53:02):
thousand one to two thousand and five, it was nothing
but quarterbacks going number one overall. Uh. And it's understandable, right,
it's the most important position in football. But I mean,
if you're sitting there, I don't think the quarterback is
gonna go to to Detroit, do you? Well, no, I know,
But that doesn't mean they won't. You said they have
two first round picks Detroit. Yeah, Detroit has two and
thirty two, right man, they may take it. Well, he's
(01:53:25):
not gonna be around at number thirty two though, right,
I don't think he's there at thirty two. Um so yeah,
Cleveland's are Houston still us thirteen? Arnie, because they've got
three of their own and they got thirteen from Cleveland
in the trade for Deshaun Watson, So Houston has three
and thirteen. I'll tell you what Atlanta at eight is
interesting to me, and I know this is gonna be
(01:53:46):
the show for the next couple of weeks and trying
to figure out what guy slot. But give me a
segment tonight to figure out where um Leek Wilson is
gonna go, because I think he's one of the most
fascinating prospects in this trap. He has an incredible upside.
Because you saw the video or I've watched this tape.
I watched this. And when I say I watched this tape, listen,
I watched because you don't get to run around for
(01:54:06):
about fifteen minutes and then pull up and throw an
I am I am the first person on the planet
to revolt against the stupid workout videos and people losing
their minds. Did you see you throw off one leg
around for like half an hour? Who cares? But but
I I will say this, I think that it's entirely
(01:54:29):
possible that we don't have a quarterback go in the
top ten. But I think once a quarterback goes, I
think you're going to see a run of them. I
think you're got up without four quarterbacks in the first round,
and once one goes, everyone's gonna position to go about.
The Giants have too high of a picket number five
and number seven. Otherwise they may be thinking about trade
back here today. Maybe they trade back all right, when
(01:54:50):
we come back. It's what you all came for. Tonight,
Artie's Picks. To wrap it up on Fox Sports Radio,
a final segment on a Sunday into a Monday here
on Fox Sports Radio. Kudos to Bobo, great job on
the wheels of steel tonight, Danny g keeping us on tracks,
we're going us up with a great top firm and
(01:55:11):
out of Vegas, and Steve the Sager on updates before
we get to Arnie's Picks and some of your tweets.
To wrap it up, a reminder, cold candidate calls aren't
turning into hot hiring leads, then you need Indeed because

Take it away your picks. To wrap up the show
on a Sunday, give me a little music, put me
in the mood. Let's start at the top. Congratulations the
coach Gay because the Duke Blue Devils are going to
(01:55:58):
win the ends double A championship. They'll take care of
North Carolina, then they'll take care of Kansas. Duke your
champions and Coach k goes out a winner. Then he says,
you know what, let's run it back again and stays
another year, so we'll see what happens there. But yeah,
(01:56:21):
wouldn't that be great if he said that? Now? I
want it. I can't leave now, Okay, all right? I
can see coaching like a like a small school, like
a St. Peter's type school. How great would that be?
Will Smith will issue apology tomorrow, By the way, I
really believe that, because he'll get to the backlash is
(01:56:42):
gonna be too much and he's going to issue an
apology that he should have done when he went up
to accept his award. I can't wait to see what's
gonna be said tomorrow. By the way, you know what
I told you at the beginning of the show Miami
Dolphins number one, as we stole that song from the Oilers.
I'm so excited. It's just three two days until my
Miami Dolphins win the Super Bowl. I'm getting a little
(01:57:05):
teary eyed thinking about that. I want to know, by
the way, he's forging about what do you get all?
It's not gonna be the Lakers. San Antonio has got
an easy four games coming up. I think san Antonio
beats out the Lakers for that last playoffs. Pop and
your l a Lakers don't make the playoffs. So there
you have my picks do with them, and you please
(01:57:25):
no longer strictly for entertainment purposes. Own clap clap, clap, clap,
Well done, aren'tie? Why are you uh? Why are you
so down on the Lakers? I mean they're playing so
well right now. Spurs have a couple of like three
easy games coming up. I can't believe we're in this
situation right now. I wont lie. I mean, I knew
(01:57:47):
that things weren't going well, but oh my gosh, what
a what a nightmares season for the for the Lakers.
All Right, A couple of quick tweets before we get
out of here. Nature Boy writes Artie. I think you're
being a little too optim to think about your dolphins.
Didn't you want to destroy two a last year? Not
when he was on that nine and one wind streak
(01:58:07):
he was. Remember, I was the one that said they
were gonna win uh tennant a row and go to
the playoffs. How how great of a prediction that one was. Again,
I mean to you, to your defense, it's a good
call to go anti Arnie. You do pretty much say
that every single year. Um imman rights. If Tua can't
do anything with Hill, then he's nothing. Yes, of course
(01:58:28):
I like the trade, But come on, the Dolphins won't
make the super Bowl. The FC is too good. No,
just because the AFC is too good doesn't mean they're
not gonna make it. Um and offensively, now they've got
the weapons, so I mean, you're gonna see once the
too win and Tyreek kill team up, you canna say, wow,
now we know why they're paying them all that money,
look at them go. So in other words, this is
(01:58:51):
what this is what to a needed. I like it.
Jason writes, you have no quarterback, Arnie twa is trash.
You're the number one member of two quarterback. It's your quarterback.
But it's your quarterback until he plays one bad game
and that game might even be in the preseason before
Arnie punts on him. Just to make it very clear,
(01:59:13):
Um Goodell should make the Shawn Watson where jersey number
twenty two as a scarlet letter should well zero in
rec league for the average number of picks he gets.
Right in, Arnie, it's been pretty good. That's why I'm
hered the network. I don't know if that but um okay, uh.
(01:59:35):
These wide receivers rights Jeff, are so selfish that it
doesn't even matter if their team is winning. They want
the ball or they're going to pout hashtag Randy Moss.
They want the money, is what I think. I think. Yeah,
I think you hit it on the head right here.
It's not about what they're gonna get the football wherever
they go. It's about they want the money. And um,
(01:59:57):
let's see one more who gets the oscar were tonight's performance,
Chris Rock or Will Smith is Colin Lane out the
conspiracy theory that he thinks that he thinks that it's real.
I did it earlier tweets. I will say the coolest
thing I discovered tonight in a final thought here in
(02:00:17):
the last thirty seconds, is not that Chris Rock got
slapped by Will Smith. Or maybe he didn't, maybe it
was an act. The coolest thing I learned tonight was
on Twitter, where I found out that the Lakers never
used Lebron James in a graphic that talks about a loss.
I don't know if you've seen this, but a Twitter
user went through every single loss the Lakers have in
their final score graphic. Lebron is never in the loss graphic,
(02:00:41):
but he is in most of the wins. BN Mallor
is coming up next for Artie Spaniards Chris play. We'll
see y'all next Sunday night. Have a great week on
Fox Sports Radio
