Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening the Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, that's us Man.
What's Sunday Funday? Rich? Fox Sports Sunday Covin on Rich
at Fox Sports Radio. I'm Rich. That's Caino, Grammy Sunday Man, Yeah,
Grammy Sunday. Are you think I'm wearing this dress? Thank you?

(00:22):
Who are you wearing? Versace? Thank you? I'm Steve Covino
wearing uh not like a sweatpants from Costco. Rich is
wearing Nike lowtops. He's wearing Kirkland. That's Spotty, our producer
along with Danny g and Bobo, Steve de Sager. It's
the show Let's go spot Who are you wearing? Old Navy?

(00:45):
I believe this is a whoop shirt? Oh nice? WoT
there it is? There it is? There it is? Wasn't
there a woot? There it is? And a whoop? There
it is? There was? Of course? And Tag Team everybody
knows the Tag Team version. Yeah, but Whoop there it
is was just as famous at one point. Not dude,

(01:07):
I'm poe Us for life. I'm old school for life.
I used to order it on the jukebox, the video jukebox.
I used to order it. Who there it is? They
came out at the same time. Yeah, I don't know
every Muhammad Ali needs their Joe Frasier rich and whoomp,
there it is it's big rival was Root. There it
is Old School for Life anyway, I whoop. There it

(01:29):
is sort of like Transformers, and there it is like Gobots. Fine,
fair enough, but it did come out and at the
same time look it up. Check the Wikipedia. Speaking of
music man concert, Whoop, there it is is sour Patch kids. Woot.
There it is. It's Sower Jacks. I like Sander Jacks,
though I like sower Jack's so rich. Speaking of music,
Grammy Sunday. There it is, It's Starter. There it is

(01:53):
is Apex. Apex is pretty dope. I want a few
good apex is. Back in the day at the boardwalk.
I used to rock those. So we're gonna talk some sports,
some nonsense, some music, a little mix of everything. Of course,
again we're Cavino and Riches. That's what we do. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine Fox. I look at Danny J. The
Ultimate producer. I pictured Danny J. Without a doubt. I

(02:13):
would bet my life savings and my children's college funds.
I say, I know what you're gonna say. You weren't
even saying that he had a Raider starter jack Raiders
starter jacket. If if I'm wrong, I'm walking out right now.
Danny G. Please tell me I'm right. Did you have
a Raiders starter jacket at some point in your life?
We have a winner, Yeah, there was no. I was like,
I mean rich I had a Raiders starter jacket. I

(02:35):
wasn't even a Raiders fan. I know Danny G is. Yeah,
you can see everything about him. He wears Raider colors
every day. So I've never seen I've never seen Danny
G not in Raiders colors. So, speaking of music, I
saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers this weekend. I'll talk
more about it on our Patreon this week, but I
just gotta say I was motivated and inspired. They shouted

(02:57):
out their Lakers. They're Lakers, they adore of them. They
were at a game this week. Might be the only
ones the Lakers that are adored by And I gotta say,
I haven't seen sixty year olds with this type of
energy ever in my life. Since my dad on the
dance floor at the wedding, since your dad at your wedding.

(03:19):
No seriously, Chat Smith or will Fare I'm not sure
who it was, but he's sixty Keyts and Flee or
fifty johns back he's fifty two John for Santy sort
of z owned out, but the other guys maniacs. Dude.
So I was inspired to really step up my game
and start getting in shape or something, because you know
what I think it was when you love what you do,

(03:40):
you're just all in. And these dudes had energy for days.
I was so impressed, not only you know, with the
new stuff and how they sounded, but their energy level.
I was tired watching them and they're on stage, they're
on foulon there on Camel. They had like three different
shows that day. Impressive. I think the Chili Peppers are great.
I'll also say this, they had more apps than anybody

(04:01):
in this room too, so like it was sort of
awesome and depressing at the same time. They're just underneath
six packets, underneath the cat if. I didn't love tacos
so much. So again, music's in the air. It's a
Grammy Sunday. Of course, it had your final four this weekend.
There's lots going on and lots to get too, so

(04:22):
let's go. You can't talk about the Chili Peppers without
me making the obvious reference. We always make a cameo
that if people don't know, I want to slap them,
not Will Smith style. What is it with slapping people know?
By the way, you believe that was a week ago?
Today story story won't go away? Happy one week anniversary?
The news broke here. Steve Disager shocked the world when

(04:43):
he dropped that news story. Yo, I can't believe that
story is still going on. I've never heard Steve more
excited to break a non sports related story. Yeah, he's like, oh,
it's got it's a slap. It was wild though. The
Chili Peppers flee plays Needles and Back to the Future

(05:03):
Part two. And I don't know if everyone knows that
to me? Common knowledge? Man? You think it's common knowledge,
you're boso if you don't know it. I don't want
to talk to people that didn't know that. If you're
surprised by that. I don't know, man, I don't know
if you and I could be friends. Did you know
they were both in point break? I didn't know that.

(05:23):
That's that's a trivial question. We'll talk a little music,
we'll talk some sports and rich I know you're all
fired up about Eric Church. Yeah, I just store this
story is firing me up. I'll tell you why in
a second. But before that, you talked about the Chili Peppers.
They're big Lakers fans. Danny J. Do you have the
clip the newsroom said they pulled it, and the news
room pulled the clip where the announcer that called one

(05:46):
of the games was so like passive aggressive, like like
a jerk, like you Carmelow Lebron. These guys are done
like like this might be in the history of sports,
the worst appellation of like age superstars in the history
of history. I remember thee This is my go to

(06:08):
example every time you talked about this. But I remember
because I'm an a l East fan, and the Tampa
Bay Devil Rays had some big names and when they
were the Devil When they were the Devil Rays, it
was like Wade Bogs, Fred McGriff, who else was on
that squad, But they got like Vinnie Kesti, I don't know,
there was a bunch of people on that squad, not him,

(06:28):
but the likes of him, likes of him, and and
they had all these old school names that were like
on their last year and obviously it's just names. They
just weren't at their prime. The Lakers right now, listen
to this clip from the announcer calling the end of
the game. There is a very strong chance Lebron James, Anthony, Davis,

(06:50):
Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony will not be a part of
this year's playoffs. Wow, how the mighty have fallen this
afternoon from Los Angeles not to beat the Lakers one eighteen. Dude,
you're talking an NBA where it's sort of almost laughable.

(07:11):
How many teams now do get a chance? Right? Not
only is it the eight teams, it's like yeah, yeah, yeah,
there's eight teams, but you know what, there's two teams
that get to play a playing game. So now you're
talking about fifteen teams. Ten of the fifteen at each
conference get a shot. The Lakers couldn't couldn't somehow put

(07:32):
together a squad that would be one of the ten
best teams in the West. As Sebastian Maniscalco would say,
aren't you himbas? Aren't you him bad? I mean, we're
at this point, you know, we're sta You need chemistry.

(07:53):
I heard that call, and it's like, when when the
announcer makes that call, and he's like Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Carmelo,
Anthony d Our Russell, everyone. This is a team of
ten years ago that was like the All Star team
within the last ten years. Again, you know that doesn't
make him a great team, great players. Chili Peppers still

(08:14):
shouting out like him now. Chili Pepper is still their
number one fans and you know they're always shouting out
the Lakers in California and Anthony Keatis rocks and mustache
for those of you keeping score at home. Just so
you know, so speaking of music, like we said, speaking
of sports, tell us why this Eric Church story resonates
with you Rich? It goes along with take us to Church.

(08:37):
It goes on with a narrative I want to bring
up today and the narrative today that I'm going to
dive into throughout the whole three hour show. Everyone thinks
they're entitled to something. Everyone thinks they deserve an answer,
Everyone thinks they deserve everything. Here's the guy, Eric Church.
If you don't know country music superstar who made a decision. Now,

(08:59):
this is a a gutsy call he made and he
was honest right, how many times, could you not be honest?
How many times have men and women lied? Where were you?
I was with my girlfriends and Jackie got drunk. Meanwhile
it's like, no, you aren't you with some dudes and
you like, well, I subscribed to this. Omitting is not lying.
Women always like to say that omitting is lying. It

(09:21):
is no, it's not. Omitting is not lying. I'm here,
are going to go on the record Fox Sports Radio.
My girlfriend doesn't listen to this show, and I want
the world to know that omitting is not lying, despite
with women trying to convince you is true. It was
a camito comino was like I was rich in spot

(09:41):
at the bar. Okay, I just didn't say, well, bar
lying and if who or who else may have been there?
And what type of people were there? People were people people? Well,
Eric Church, if you don't know the story, what kind
of very simple pay attention, very very simple. Eric Church,
country music star said, thank San Antonio, he had a
concert scheduled in my wife's hometown of New Brothels, Texas. Okay,

(10:04):
by the way, I have to ask, because I'm not
a rooting, touting kind of guy, I couldn't tell with
the retired Guido from New Jersey. Right, you have earrings
in the chain on. I don't think you're rooting into
and now I'm about the local on the west side. Yes,
I don't know anything about country music. For the most part,
I know the name. How big of a name. He's
big like big, like how big? Like you said superstars?

(10:26):
Why is he really a superstar? He is? He's top five,
he's like top alright, good, He's made seven million dollars
since January. But I need this information because I think
I'm about to disagree with rich. You started reading his
most recent stadium. We need to We need to back
it up a few days. Take it ahead of the

(10:49):
game yesterday spot make like Frank stallone, take you back,
do do so? Eric. Apparently his fans are called the
church Choir. I did not know that. I learned that
this week the church choir. The church choir. Fancy This Saturday,
my family and I are going to stand together to
cheer on the tar Heels as the team has made
it to the Final Four. As a lifelong Carolina basketball

(11:11):
basketball fan, I've watched Carolina and Duke battle over the years,
but have to but to have them match up in
the final four for the first time in the history
of the n C Double A tournament. Is any sports
enthusiast dream This is also the most selfish thing I've
asked the choir to do, to give up your Saturday
night plans with us so that I can have this

(11:32):
moment with my family and sports community. However, it's the
same type of passion felt by people who fill the
seats at our concerts that makes us what we want
to be, makes us want to be a part of
a crowd at a game of this significance blah. So, essentially,
he acknowledged that he was making a selfish move, but
said tried to spin it me like this is for
me and my family. That doesn't matter. That's like say

(11:53):
no offense, but you you say something offensive and you're
supposed to excuse that no offense. But I am on
your side, Steve. I know rich you're taking a different angle.
I am on the side of the fans. I'm not
taking angle. I'm taking an angle that that he has
had seven million dollars in ticket sales already this year.
He's a superstar. And he apologized, and he was honest.

(12:13):
He's a North Carolina tar heels fanatic the Final four
versus Duke with his family. If anything we've learned over
the last two years, time with family and really prioritizing
your life is a takeaway I think we could all
agree upon right the last couple of years, COVID and
everything you taught us, like you know what, we're working
from home. Oh, more time of my kids. Maybe that

(12:34):
is more important. We've all prioritized. This guy saying family
and friends. That's not what Tom Brady thought watching that
had enough of it. He he hates his family. Two
weeks with him, two months with them done. He is
since apologized. He has since said it was selfish and
in the latest move, what he did was he made

(12:58):
a new show that is not only transferable for this
show that's canceled, but for people that couldn't do it,
he gives a full refund. So it's a full refund
or hey, here's your tickets, say work for this day.
And he's accommodating people that have gone above and be honest,
Hey I got a hotel in airfare and your room
my plans. If he pisces off two hundred people, what

(13:22):
type of dent does that make into a fan base
doesn't make it right. Kind of rationale is that afford
to lose a couple hundred million dollars. That's not the point.
It's disrespectful to his fans that wanted to see his show.
He's prioritizing a college basketball game over his job. And
by the way, his retribution, if you, if you go

(13:42):
a little further down, his retribution. So the venue in
San Antonio that he was supposed to be at holds
eighteen thousand, six hundred people. The venue in New Bronzels,
Texas were you west from, holds only fifty undred people.
So he's doing a free show for almost thirteen thousand
more people. Less people he's going down. So he's going

(14:06):
to a smaller venue and not allowing all the original
people to fit in this venue. So hold on, you
got a piece to another Selfishop who don't know. I
I didn't know all the details to this story either.
I just knew you were fired up about it. I
think Eric Church. Eric Church, famous country star again, he scheduled,
he had a commitment to perform for his fans. About
twenty people canceled the show because he's a big North

(14:29):
Carolina fan. Whoop. But he do How many times you especially, man,
I can't believe you would take the side of this
guy's decision here, and I'll tell you why. How many
times in your career and everyone listening right now, in
your career, did you sacrifice time with friends and family
to get ahead in life? You know how many New
Year's parties I missed? How many Birthday parties I missed?

(14:51):
You know how many things I missed just to get ahead?
You know many relationships I sacrifice because I had to
work and put in the time and I couldn't just
dip out. We're working Saturday nights while your girl is
at the club with some other dude. Exactly. That's my point.
You know, I would have liked to say, hey, you
know what, screw that, I'm gonna do what I want
to do. But he's in the power position now that
he could say that. He doesn't make it right. Commitment.

(15:15):
You make a commitment to your fans, you know what
fans are, would give him that power to have that
kind of money. I'm on the side of the fail.
You're on the side of Jason Alden, another huge country star.
I said, who said, I don't know if I could
pull that off myself. I feel like people buyd it
be goes. I feel like people buying a ticket to
come to your show. You kind of have to hold
up your end of the deal. And I mean, and
that's today's day and age. People travel to see people.

(15:40):
They don't just it's not just the people in that
city that are going to see this person. People come
from miles, people take flights, people travel around the country
to get hotel rooms for the night, and sometimes you
can't get money back. You know, neither one of you.
Bozzo seemed to care when the Clippers and Lakers were
resting Lebron or co hire. These people remember over the
last couple of years, like there was a big story
where errands would plain like I took my kids to

(16:01):
go see the Clippers, and kid commit to play that
specific game. That's strategy. You gotta arrest your players. Sometimes
this guy made a commitment to twenty fans to perform.
They're paying good mate to see him, and he's like, yeah,
I appreciate it, and I know it's selfish, but peace out.
Like the guy even admit it's wrong, and you're defending
it's like anyone defending Will Smith. Will Smith admitted he

(16:23):
was wrong, and he apologized that people are still doubling
down that he had he had a right. I know what.
Adele did this recently with her Vegas residency and got destroyed,
so he shouldn't be above this. I have made your thoughts.
You guys are both morons and I love it. Uh.

later on a Fox Sports Radio dot Com, you're not
hearing the Chili Peppers in the background. But I got
a shout out the Chili Peppers their new albums out.
Saw him this weekend here in Los Angeles, and he
closed out with give It Away, and George Clinton came out.
George Clinton came out. It was wild, man, it was

(18:37):
so cool to be there vent and they closed that
with give It Away. May have saw him on TV
this past weekend. But I hope you're having a good one.
I hope you're having a North Carolina sort of weekend.
I'm glad just said that, because you know what, there's
a guy named Eric Church and his gampbell paid off,

(18:58):
his gamble paid off. You say, disappoint into this? Eric's
selfish Church? You should be at chuckles, Eric selfish Church?
Are you gonna smack me for that one? I will, Yeah,
I don't. I don't feel like you liked it. He
did what he wanted to do deep down in his heart.
His family doesn't make it the right thing to do.

(19:19):
When Eric Church is an old guy laying on his deathbed,
do you think he's gonna say, Man, I'm really sad.
I disappointed a few people in San Antonio. I think
he's gonna say, you know, I spent the Final four
with my family when we retired, coach k what a moment.
All right, let's catch up. Everybody up. Welcome to Cavino
and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Sunday Grammy

(19:40):
Sunday eight nine on Fox. Got a lot of phone
calls on this. We're gonna get to everybody, So Hank tight,
keep your chonies on or take him off. I don't care.
Eric Church Country Star has sold about nine million albums.
All right, I just looked it up about nine million albums,
so he's indebted to his fans. He's nothing without his fans.
He made it come to his fans to perform, and hey, guys,

(20:06):
I'm sorry. I know it's selfish. So he's admitting he's wrong.
Yet you're saying he's right when he admitted, hey, I'm
making a selfish move here, I'm going to this game.
And he doesn't perform for his fans, you're saying, so
what he here's a few people. Man who cares a few,
there'll be a few angry people. I think of how

(20:27):
many shows were canceled for other reasons, like good postponed
for COVID, postponed for this. But you know, he said
he was honest. He could have said that's not a
good enough excuse. I was sick. That's a good excuse
because I'd rather do something else than play for my
fans who have made me. That's not being a professional.
Bro Adele adel was like, oh, it's technical, and Adele

(20:50):
just couldn't work a deal out, and she canceled her
Vegas residency and made it seem like it was something else.
This guy was honest, But what's your take? You not?
You said you know you said that you excuse the
NBA team for sitting down their players to rest them. Yeah,
how is that different? Because he wasn't sitting out so
that he could be ready for a big event or

(21:12):
for a later date because he needed the rest, He
chose to do something else. When you say no to something,
you say yes to something else. So he said no
to my fans, yes to his family basketball game. And
that's not right. Just because he acknowledged it is he.
I know it's selfish. That doesn't make you. Yeah, I've

(21:36):
lost I don't even know the guy and I've lost
all respect for him. But when you make a commitment
to something, you stand by your commitment. But no, NBA
players are played millions upon millions of dollars to play
a game, because every game you are, you are not.
When did they start this? Back in Jordan? Back in

(21:57):
Jordan days in magic, professional athlete plays every game rarely
unless you're cal Ripken plays game in today's game and
today does that make it right? Because now is today's
game compared to because you gotta pace it out, you
gotta rest your legs. It might be a better, uh,
you may be more so, he's not as a as
a fan and as a man. He said, you know what,

(22:18):
I have something that I need to do. This a
question bit I don't think because without with in an
NBA game, the game goes on. If one players down,
he's the guy. But people are going to see that
answer his show. Without him, there's no show. Bro. I've
been to I've been to Mets games. They could have
put a CD on I've been. I've been to I've
been to Mets games. Pretty much. As you get there

(22:40):
to City Field, you look up on the scoreboard, it's like,
wait a minute, where's Pete Alonso? Or like back in
the David Wright's not playing today. It's like going to
see It's like going to see a Broadway show and
there's an understudy. I met it, but the show goes
on and you're still seeing the show without the main event.
There's enough it happening. I went to see one of

(23:01):
Kobe's last games before he retired, and he didn't play.
But you still pretty much and you still charge the
same amount of money, and you can't complain because you're
paying for the team, not the person, not play of Kobe. Well,
I know you know what I mean when you pay
for the ticket, you pay for the team. Not to
not check this out. He didn't even go to North Carolina.
He's from North Carolina. He went to Appalachian State. He

(23:26):
cancels his own concert to go to the Final four.
But let me ask you one question. Granted, it was
a great game, and all I get off a question
is is he in the court of public opinion this guy?
Is he still a platinum selling artist? He still does.
He sells millions of fans. I have I have one

(23:47):
last question. I will take your phone calls because I'm
team Eric Church on this one. His gamble paid off.
He wanted to spend the moment with his friends and
family at a game that meant a lot to him.
He's a huge Tar Heels fan country singer Eric Church.
If you don't know the story, admitted on social media,
like I'm canceling my show and I'm gonna be honest,
it's very selfish, but it's a very important moment for
my family to watch this game together and be there. Now,

(24:08):
what if he said, was he on the verge of
I'm being serious of saving his relationship or something. I
was gonna ask you something sort of relative. What if
Eric Church went on social media, Danny J. Bobo Spot Covina,
everyone listening, what if you want on social media and
he was like, hey, Eric Church, you uh And he said,
hey guys, it's my kids dance recital. No, sorry, man,

(24:31):
we all want to be part of those moments that
he doesn't need to he but then he don't make commitments. Bro,
Then he don't make commitments. But you remember the expression
back in the day, my word is bond. My word
is my bond. It's a commitment. Stop slaiming the table. No,
because you're speaking fool's talk. Man, You're rich is fluent
and fools fool's talk. He's the April Foo. Let's go

(24:51):
to the phone. Emmett in Olympia. You're on Comvene on
Rich Fox Sports Radio. I think Eric Church his gamble
paid off. They're in the final for there in the
final game the championship tomorrow. If Eric Church is like, hey, sorry,
whatever I got planned on Monday, I'm going to the game.
By the way, those fans are what what put food
on his table? Man? And you and I we we
have a Patreon. I'm gonna put our listeners first because

(25:14):
they put food on my table. You know what I mean.
We're nothing without our listeners. He's nothing without his fans.
And you can chose a basketball. Did you get like
mega dope seats? Sure that's even worse. Probably got him
for free. Emmett, what do you think, buddy? What's up? Guys?
How you doing? And I think that this whole thing

(25:35):
for me is I'm in the middle because I understand
both sides of things, like as a sports fan, if
my Seahawks are in a unique position, I think not
be aple of the hardest decisions on my life. But
then again, I understand what like Covino is saying, because
you you've made this commitment, I mean Saturday Night Final four.
I mean if you you know, I just like the fans.

(25:56):
You guys paid all this money. You know, put it
in perspective. Ready, you said your torn? All right, let's
think of it this way. I get it right. You're torn.
If you cancel dinner plans because you want to go
see your Seahawks or whatever. You let down one, one
or two people, You let down your girlfriend, she will
understand this guy canceled on twenty thousand people that paid

(26:16):
good money. Maybe book flights, like you said, spot him. Yeah,
that's ridiculous. You see a lot of a lot of comments.
Are people saying are you going to refund? Are you know?
Are you gonna refund our travel as well? And stop
being a fan. He's a plenty of other fans. Well,
you expect something, you have a certain level of at that,
you have a certain level of commit when you when

(26:37):
you purchase a ticket. I'm like Drago bro I fight
for me. And it's not like it's not like it
was taken down, like it's one thing if it was
a COVID restriction, or if it's another thing, or he
lost his voice and he couldn't perform, that's one thing
he chose just to not show up to his job.
Then let me ask you this, everyone, give me a second.
Let me ask you this fired for stuff like that.
We'll go to Jerome and South Carolina next. I ask

(26:57):
you this. Do you wish he would have just lied
because you make it seem like no, no, what if
what if he said, hey, fans in San Anton, um
that says an issue with vocal cord rest, no vocal
cord rest or he could have said something like, um,
some of my band members of someone there's a COVID

(27:19):
related issue. There's so many excuses you can make in
the last two years because of COVID and because the restrictions.
He could have said, hey, listen, there's a venue issue
with the sound and lighting. We're going to lie to me, man,
haven't cut the power to the venue. What did the
old Chris rock to bring him up? Lie to me, Jerry,

(27:40):
lie to me. Jerome in South Carolina? Uh, I think
Eric Church is a phony on a front runner. How
do you go from being an app state mountaineer to
North Carolina talk you you've become a phony in a
front runners? How he knows nothing about North Carolina basketball?
He is nothing about all use just a bandwagon. I

(28:06):
know what I think. I think I'm gonna start becoming
a bandwagon phony too. If the if the Mets don't
do well this year, I'm gonna be I think I
gonna become a Dodgers fan. That's like, that's a que
And I have any an event in Vegas, right, We're
having a big event for like for our listeners, a
convention or something, and we might right in the summer,
and you get some cool tickets to see Carrot Top
and you're like, yeah, you know what. You know. I'm sorry, guys,

(28:26):
but I got front row seats. Carrot Top takes presidents
just wrong on every level for you to defend it.
Let me ask you this. It's an age old sort
of Caveno and Rich way to figure out these types
of situations. Would you do something like that if you
had twenty people waiting to see you, would you say,
you know what, I'm gonna you know what, I'm sorry, guys,

(28:46):
I know you're all paid all this money to me.
I'm gonna go do something. Steve the Sager, as you
get into your update, what sorry are you on? Well,
there could have been a compromise. He didn't have to
be an attendance at it, and the game didn't start
to like nine pm, So just move the concert up
an hour or two. You still get to watch the
entire game and go crazy in front of the TV

(29:07):
like you do in front of all the other North Carolina.
What I feel? I want? I feel though, I feel
one last thing. He has worked as ass off to
become a multimillion dollar artist, thanks to thanks fans, But
what what what point did the rules do not apply
to him? There? For at what? At what? Point, though,
does he get to say, I'm want to do something
for my second it's his name Eric Church or Stephen Seagal,
because he's not above the law. He's tonight. You know what,

(29:31):
Everyone thanks first they're fans, because without their fans, they
just be singing into a microphone in a room by themselves.
Chase and Radio, I don't forget they thank Radio retail
absolutely to the NBA. Among the twelve games on the
Sunday schedule, Philadelphia has just wanted to clinch a playoff
spot of victory at Cleveland one twelve to one oh

(29:52):
eight Joel and beat forty four points and seventeen rebounds.
In progress, Phoenix is downten at Oklahoma cit d late
in the third quarter. Seventy five sixty five. Denver beat
the Lakers in l A today one eighteen Nakola Yokich
thirty eight points, eighteen rebounds. Boston and Dallas with wins
Detroit and New York as well. At the Women's basketball

(30:14):
National Championship Game, it's underway in Minneapolis. Number one ranks
South Carolina leads Yukon to eight at the end of
the first quarter. South Carolina already beat Connecticut in November
seventy three, fifty seven in the Bahamas. A win would
put South Carolina at thirty five and two to finish
the season. Yukon seeking its twelfth national championship. It has

(30:35):
never lost a title game. Auburn seven footer Walker Kessler
declared for the NBA draft. Butler's new men's basketball coaches
stad mata X of Ohio State. North Carolina's Armando Baycott
says he will play tomorrow night in the title game
against Kansas despite his sprained ankle. Last night, bay cut
his tar heel's top score and rebounder. As for baseball,

(30:56):
the Padres acquired left hand a pitcher Sean Maniah from
the A's Padres. New manager Bob Melvine just came from Oakland.
MLB opening day is Thursday, a full one sixty two
games season. Danny Hamlin took the NASCAR race at Richmond.
Kevin Harvick finished second. Back to you nice, Welcome back
to Covino and Red. Yeah. I hope you enjoyed your
WrestleManias this weekend. Your final four's Eric Church, did you

(31:19):
had a good time if you plan on seeing him? Sorry?
Eric Church also gonna wrestle Mania to see something cold
give a stunner. Yeah, yeah, he had another show. He
canceled it just to see Logan Paul perform in WrestleMania.
You know what, I'm glad you brought that up because
we're never going to see Ida in this Eric Church thing.

(31:40):
Because you're wrong. You're wrong. That's why. That's why I
want to that's why. Yeah, because you're wrong, even he
admitted it. You're the Boso that's defending Will Smith, even
though Will Smith he was wrong. I think that's no.
I'm saying it's an analogy. Well, you're defending a guy. Yeah,
you're You're the same guy who's defending a dude who

(32:01):
admitted he was wrong. He said, I know this is selfish,
and I agree that it's selfish, but I agree they
still had the right to do it and say, listen,
I'm gonna put myself in my family first. You don't
think he's on the road touring and doing all these
things all the time where he's like, you know what,
this is something I want to do for me, for me.
Wasn't even the championship game. It's the final four. Don't
say that's if the champions the Final four is a

(32:22):
big thing, but still paid off if they lost. He
basically canceled plants. Like It's like if you had plans
to go to dinner with Covino and he canceled them
because he got better plans. He's saying to you, you're
not good enough for me. I found something better. So
he said to his fans, you're not good enough for me.
I found something in a lifetime. It's not like he's

(32:43):
getting for you is not good enough for me. I'm
going to watch something else. That would be like Spot covenient.
That would be like Covino and I having dinner plans
and Coveno saying, yeah, I can't make it, and me
being like, really you can't. I'm sitting here to restaurant.
He's like yeah, Like there's these like group of girls
that like want me to be their oil boy, and
I'm on home with him. You know, let say, okay, church,

(33:03):
Eric Church hates the church. Choir, what is it the church?
You get it right? If we're gonna say it, it's
the Eric Church. I believe that he hates the church.
He hates his fans. You heard it here. He doesn't
appreciate them. I don't think it no matter what he says, no,
because you would put them first. In this case, it's

(33:24):
like it's like no, It's like you had plans to
go to a party with your bud right and your
but all of a sudden cancels on you. But you
see on social media he's had another party and you
weren't invited because he thinks it's a better one. Exactly said,
I'm Eric Church. I got your back social media, though
that's always deflating. Fine j J. In Indiana? What's up?
J J? Hey, what's going on? Fellows say what's up?

(33:47):
From seven six five? But I'll say cardinals all night long.
Up guys that I appreciate you. Man. Now I'm gonna
say this, it's been a wonderful week and uh with
Will Smith and Chris Rock and now the Eric Church thing.
I'm going on record as sing Eric Church, do your thing,
your family, you know, Uh, compensate whatever you gotta do

(34:11):
with the fans, and do your thing. Yeah. That that
type of mentality you gets you nowhere. Man even said
he's gonna make it right. He's doing a new concert.
I know how many times I again, I wish I
could have told my boss or my job. Yes, sorry man,
it's my nephew's birthday. Hey sorry, No man, I got
a like a big date tonight and no work came first.
The crazy thing is he's because you gotta. He's in

(34:32):
the position to say what you couldn't say. So maybe
you're just jealous because it's not conventionally right. It's just
not right, you know. I mean, here's still right and
wrong just because you know what that is. That's just
you're you're given. It's like a wealthy privilege. You're giving
him a wealthy privilege. Because he's rich. He could do
whatever he wants. That makes it okay. You know what

(34:53):
you want your you're telling no because it doesn't make
it right. Dude, just because he has money that makes
it right. You should have lied. He should have liked.
The answer is he should have liked. I'll agree, you know,
I agree with that. Let's let's agree on that. We'll
agree on that and move on. Eric Church that have said, Hey, everybody,
there's a COVID protocoll. There's a problem with my sound equipment.
It didn't get tripped to San Antonio. We're gonna have

(35:15):
the reschedulely and everyone who said Herrick Church, what a
good guy. Oh but no, he was honest. So you
know what that proves everybody don't be honest. Honestly doesn't pay.
Honesty is not the best policy for Coveno Unrich. Next
on Fox Sports, It's Caveno and Rich Grammy Sunday, Fox

(35:35):
Sports Sunday, brought to you by one of our favorite cities.
We're gonna be there later this month, Rich, Las Vegas
the greatest arena on Earth. Every game, match, race, and
competition it is always on. One does sports like Vegas
and the excitement is endless. To make sure to plan
your trip today a visit Las Vegas dot com. Reading
our feedback, I disagree with King who said Cavenos right again. Now,

(35:58):
don't agree with that guy. We're talking about the Eric
Church canceling a concert to see the Final Four, which
paid off. He's a huge North Carolina fan. I'll back
up Sean s who hit us up Twitter pay off
when it put a bad taste in all of his
fans mouth. Well, hold on, Shawn, even fans that didn't
plan on going have to see where his priorities are
and say, yeah, I don't like that he hit us

(36:21):
up at Covin on Rich and he hit up at
Eric Church and he wrote, Hey, this guy's established himself
where he could take this hit and come back. Fewer
like him in the country music game, and that's why
he'll survive the quote backlash this one time. Great great move,
great move. I should have lied, then you should have.
We've established that now this weekend. You know what it
is in l A. By the way, it's like l

(36:42):
A restaurant week or something like that. I don't know
what it is, but like special discounts, like high end places.
Stuff my face at Del Frisco's last night. Yeah buddy,
Yeah buddy. So that's why I watched. I took my
kids to eyehopped. There was no deal they're going on.
I oh man, I was watching some knowledge basketball. I
was watching the Final four. Stuff in my face, having

(37:03):
some cocktails. I got a hot take on ihop. By
the way, Oh yeah, I Hop is now the same
price as a fancy brunch spot, to the point where
you might as well go to the fancy brunch spot.
Runk Danny J I'm not bashing bunch spot doesn't want
your little nose picking kids. That is drinking a mess
and screaming everywhere. That is true. There's no pancake with

(37:24):
a face at the fancy brunch exactly. But if you
get like that, if you get the breakfast sampler at ihop,
which bacon pancakes, the whole deal, that's like fifteen or
sixteen bucks. And I turned to my wife, I said,
that is that the price of like eggs benedicted some
fancy brunch spot. I hop, yeah, add a drink on
for four bucks. I learned that less in the hard way.

(37:44):
And it sounds like I'm bashing I hop, but actually
it's like it's one of my favorite chain restaurants. That
reminds me. It reminds me of when I was a kid. Right.
So I'll take my kids there once in a while,
and my wife and I got their crappy coffee just
because you know you, I got'll get a water in
a coffee. Their coffee's like four or fifty. I'm like, yo,
I'm I'm never getting coffee there again because on the
way home, I'll just get Starbucks coffee bean or something. Dude,

(38:06):
it's awful, but it's still hot. So I was at
Del Frisco, but I gotta you know, discounted rate because
it's it's l a Restaurant Week or whatever it's called.
And I watched the game promps again to North Carolina,
and I got home and I started looking through all
the feedback and I'm like, man, look at all this.

(38:27):
The Undertaker was honored. That's awesome. I heard the Undertaker
was awesome. But it was like an hour and a half.
Like the Undertaker do talked for what seemed like like
two hours like a lecturer. I saw our old pal
Ariel hell Wani say that you know, say what you want,
think what you want. The w w E does it
right like he said. It was electric the whole time.

(38:48):
It was great to be there. They honored their legends,
and I started seeing all these Logan Paul highlights and
I gotta tell you, man, I think he found his calling.
I didn't watch it, but I saw all the highlights. Right.
The dude looked convincingly good. He liked athletic, and he

(39:09):
looked like he belonged. Did you see that kick back
he did? He did? And did you see the thing
with the miss he did? He did like a three
soup plex and a row thing. Then he did a
frog splash off the top rope and then split and
then the miss pulled the old school like at the
end of the match, like betrayal and clothes and all

(39:29):
I thought the whole time was all right, let me
go on social media because he's going to be haters.
Even Logan paulse haters, which I'm sure there are millions
all said the same thing. You know, I want to
hate on him, but I really can't this dude. Like
you may eye roll at his boxing, you may eye
roll at all stupid antics on YouTube and Instagram and TikTok,
but Logan Paul as a wrestler, he's so hateable yet

(39:54):
likable and athletic. It might be his calling. His athleticism
definitely shined, and you want to hate on him, but
you can't. I just think he found where he belongs.
And I want to know your thoughts, guys eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox, did you want WrestleMania? Are
you buying into Logan Paul? At bottom line is he's

(40:15):
an entertainer and you saw that and you saw his
like childhood dreams come true. It was amazing if he
was off the top turn, But I mean, how many
childhood dreams is this kid gonna get to live out?
I mean, good for him. And by the way, you
said bottom line and you didn't mention Stole Colt. Shame
on you. All right, Uh we got more of your
feedback next at Covin and Rich and at Fox Sports Radio,

(40:35):
Hank Ty. Yeah, what's up, buddies, what's up? Rich? What'do
and Rich? Fox Sports Radio? Fox Sports Sunday. You know
the number eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox the
most inclusive show on Fox Sports Radio according to me.
And that's just my nice way of saying, Hey, you
want to be a part of it, you want to
see what's up? Give us a call or hit us

(40:57):
up at Covino and Rich on social media. In fact,
Fox Sports Radio, I got a new affiliate. You want
to hear this nice Central Oregon's news sports radio station
nine the Ticket, Bend, Oregon. We we've been through Bend,
have we not? You and me? Did you go there
for the eclipse? I drove through bendom the way to

(41:18):
the eclipse. So no, it's the greatest thing I've ever
done in my life, and I've been on Fox Sports Radio.
I took a trip to see the total eclipse of
the Sun. The path of totality went through Oregon, the
path and I drove up there thirteen hours just to
see this celestial event. Well, they are the home of

(41:39):
the Blazers Seahawks in Oregon state football and basketball. Bill
grolcome to Keith Shipman Company. Thanks for being part of
Fox Sports Radio. And I just saw on our instagram,
you know who followed us Fox Sports Brazil. What if
they asked you to go there to cover the the
booty contest? You got you gotta cancel your previous plans
go Do you stick to your commitments? You're saying, what

(42:00):
if they called me and made all my wild streams
come true? Thank you come? You know we'd like to
put you on location. Yes, no, I cannot have made
a previous obligation. Imagine you're standing there like the statue,
you know, Christ the Redeemer, just with your arms out
the glove. That's my tree. Alright, someday I'll be in
Brazil sports, in life and everything going on in your world.

(42:23):
I'll be people watching. It's a good thing to do
in Brazil, I'm sure. Hey. By the way, Spot mentioned
we're here on Fox Sports Radio, right and we've done
other sport brands before right, it's trial and error, and
Logan Paul has been he's been successful and pretty much
everything he's done. But I think he found where he belongs.
You know, I feel like we belong here on Fox

(42:45):
Sports Radio. They let us do what we do. We
have a great time, there's a great team. It's been
a great experience. We've had success in other places, but
I feel like we we found our spot. That's how
I felt when I saw Logan Paul with his like
he's already got patented moves. He was like Roy. He
was like Roy Hobbs, the wonder Boy, the natural round

(43:07):
in the basis the natural. He was a natural in
the ring. Again, based on the highlights that I saw,
I didn't see the entire thing, but I saw him
doing splits. I saw him flipping back up doing kickbacks.
I saw him with the miss and then I saw
the potential too, because he's already in great shape. But
you know, when he gets that, you know, when someone
becomes famous to get the Hollywood treatment, when he gets

(43:29):
that w W E treatment, that dude's gonna be jacked.
He could be jacked. He could be like Bautista Jack.
Let's let's go crazy. I mean, maybe you don't know,
but anyway, I saw the potential and I said to myself, Oh,
he found his calling, man, he found where he belongs again.
He's been successful with his podcast, successful in social media,

(43:49):
successful in the ring with his boxing events. But this
is where I think he shines the brightest. Could be perfect,
could be perfect for him. I even looked on social
media and all the haters even like, well, I gotta say,
gotta give him credit. He looks pretty good in there
tonight now and spots said. The wrestlers were even commenting saying,
you know, he did a great job. He it was.

(44:11):
It was one of those yeah I saw. Roman Reigns
said that the Paul is really put in work. They
seem to have a good work ethic. He got to
give him, no saying and think what you want, dude,
brought it WrestleMania. I gotta ask you if you're gonna
bring that up. If I say brock Lesner to you,
let's go around the room. Brock Lesner wrestler, mixed martial artist.

(44:39):
He he didn't even have a cup of coffee in
the NFL, but he did plape a preseason game or
So with the Minnesota Vikings back in the day, where
do you look at brock Lesner and say, was his
best fit if he really put it all in, Like
I mean, he was a collegiate wrestler because he was
a UFC champ, so you think you heavyweight champion less?

(45:01):
Do you think he is the baddest man in the land.
I think that's the most credible, the most impressive. You
give him. Yeah, you give him more clout as a
UFC champion than a wrestling superstar. His best fit probably
anything with a wide neck, because best fit for him
is definitely anything maybe a V neck, maybe a button
down anything with the open neck. Worst fit for brock

(45:23):
Lesner a turtleneck worst fit. What do you think, Danny
J Do do you feel like you look at brock
Lesner and say, no, dude's a wrestler or do you
look at him and say, well, he wasn't mixed martial
by the way, like real wrestler. Yeah, I mean he
want to he want gold in college, So I think UFC. Yeah,
And I think about that tattoo running town is is

(45:45):
uh go on? Yes? Why is that weird? Why do
you know about that tattoo? On his inner thigh. No,
everybody can see the tattoo, lessener, what is it like
a big ninja sword? Oh you mean down his chest?
You met the butterfly on his lower back? Now, okay?
But no, yeah, you know he he When you look

(46:08):
at when you look at brock Lesner's career, you know
he's suffered the most pain and injuries in the world
of wrestling, which makes you realize that these guys you
could I used to be a big wrestling fan. I
was a kid. I'll keep my eye on it now,
but I'm not watching all the WrestleManias and Kings of
the Ring and royal rumbles and all that. But when
we were kids, I was way into it and looking

(46:29):
looking at it now, logan Paul to tie back to him,
does he want to go down that route of really
ruining his body like you're saying he's a natural adder.
But you talked about a guy named brock Lesner who
was a collegiate award like gold medal winning wrestler. He's
an mm A Mixed Martial Arts UFC champion, but all

(46:50):
his injuries could be pointed back to the w W A. Yeah,
but that path also leads to movies, you know what
I mean, Like, I don't think you're gonna get Logan
all the movie star unless he's proven he could take
this path and be successful at it. And you've already
been in movies one cares about. I mean, real legitimate
movie star. Have they improved the potential uh injury in

(47:15):
the w W the I mean back in the day,
it seems like those guys. Sadly, so many of the
superstars from the childhood are dead. But I think, yeah,
they take a little better care of themselves now. But
still these guys are beating. It's not I imagine they're
more conditioned. I imagine they're not performing as much as
they were in the eighties like in the eighties and
nineties they were constantly on the road performing doing these shows.

(47:38):
Now because they're constantly still pushing their limits to try
to do things that no one's done before. Look at him,
name all the guys from our childhood. It even like
after our childhood are all banged up, had drug issues,
died Like it's bad. It's definitely, you know, a tough
job and tough on your body. But Logan Pulp with

(47:58):
the work in he looked like a pro. You saw
the potential and did I read this right? It was
nineteen years since Stone Cold it was in the ring again.
That's wild, That's insane. So I hope you guys enjoyed
your WrestleMania this weekend. And if you want to watch
something that has nothing to do with Carn't wrestling, but
you want to just watch a great documentary. Ay did
those documentaries on a bunch of classic wrestlers and the

(48:21):
Stone Cold one. It was fantastic. And I'm not even
a huge fan. Who was his gimmick? They wanted to
call him? Hold on, I gotta look this up. It's
like he before he was stone Cold. Steve talking to
us about it, Danny g Bobo, get this not the
bragg It's actually a question I'll post to you guys.

(48:42):
We had Stone Cold on our talk show a few
times right now, a few times, and he took a
liking to us because we're bozos, and he's like, hey,
you guys should come out, come to my branch and
let's go hunting or something, right, make a man out
of you guys, and you never took him up. Probably
have the problem with with us as we never really
know when to take people up on their offers. And

(49:04):
I've been he threw it out everyone in life, and
it doesn't need to be stoke cold. I think there's
many times that no matter who's listening at work, like
the boss or someone's like, hey we should go golfing
or we should do this, and you're like, yeah, that
sounds great, Like do I follow up with them up?
Did you? Did you? Did he give you his number? Yeah?
Well we had his infl and he wanted you to
follow up with It's so awkward. I really don't like

(49:26):
you too right now. Yeah, that was literally my favorite
wrestler wrestler up. We've we've had a lot of those
opportunities because we've met a lot of cool people through
through radio. Never always passed on these. We always passed
because we never think they're serious. We think they're giving
you the schmooze. You know, like Megan the Stallion comes up,
you guys should come hang out with me, and you
guys go nah, Corn goes, Hey, come backstage. Nah, I'm

(49:49):
not gonna go. Time Rich there was a bust of
wine tropic models that needed someone to oil them down,
and I was like, yeah, that's a town right up
this way because we didn't think you know, they were.
Do you remember when j Lo and Shakira were like, hey,
check out our moves for the halftime show a few
years ago, and you're like, no, I got him in
business commitments alright? Well, stone Colt was the ring master.

(50:09):
That was the lame game. He was like a circus
ring master. Hair, he had hair, he had hair, and
he's like, I'm the ring master and Vince mcman was like, yeah,
maybe we're not gonna stick with this all right. Well,
something I wanted to get to on today's show is
it Carlos Beltron. It does have to do with Carlos Beltron,

(50:30):
who it's probably the guy I think of when you
think of an alfielder. They would glide to a routine flyball,
like I feel like Carlos Beltrn had the little you know,
those kids that got like the roll of skate sneakers.
He seemed just not a glide like the mall or
not like any ball hitting his vicinity. I felt like
Carlos Beltron would just glide to it. I bring up

(50:53):
Carlos belt You know what I picture I'm not even
getting you. I pictured him striking out in a big moment.
I'm a Mets fan and I know this moment you speaking,
and it's sad because I know he has a tremendous career.
Right He's probably one of the best met Alfield house
all the time. Yet he struck out looking to end
the National League Championships Series runners on base so his

(51:16):
legacy as a Met. I also remember him ruins breaking
up Johan Santana's no hitter because he really hit a
double that they called the foul. That is true. I
remember that, but you know it stands out and it's
so sad. It's one of those like when he when
he was being goofy and painted his head for fun. Yes,
it was such a strong visual that every time I
think it Carlos Carlos belt I think of when he

(51:38):
painted his hairline in and he's sitting there on the
bench with a with a sharpie painted hairline. I still
have that visual. And I also think he's a Hall
of Fame caliber player. And I think we also help
Beltron because who on Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN used
to say Carlos Beltron, Was it Joe Morgause? Someone used
to say it back in the Day, the late great

(51:58):
Joe Morga, John Miller, someone was John John Miller who
used took like Ben Franklin and Ben Franklin. So Carlos Beltron,
I'm gonna put the same category as Chris Rock and
other people that we think we need comments from, only

(52:18):
even through a Will Smith, even though he's I'm not
saying Will Smith did anything right. I think Will Smith
was in the wrong for last week. Happy one week
anniversary of the Will Smith slap. Everybody Happy anniversary. But
I feel like us is the public. I think we
deserve way too much explanation, comments, your thoughts, when sometimes

(52:41):
it's like, no, I don't want to give you my opinion.
Did you see that reporter on Fox News started asking
Mel Gibson, Like, mel Gibson, what if you were up
there and uh, you know, would you have slapped Chris Rock?
And as he starts talking the pr public the publicist
chimes in like, Okay, this interview is over, and mel
Gibson like cut him off. Where we think we deserve answers.

(53:04):
Everyone's like, what's Chris Rock gonna say? He's like, yeah,
I'm not ready to say anything. Oh, I'll tell you
know who is his brother Tony Rock. His brother Tony
Rock is a comedian, obviously not as famous as Chris Rock,
but a successful comedian and really nice guy. He is
not holding back on stage because he was like, that's

(53:25):
my brother, so he's letting it all out. He's not
holding back. Well, add I think he's saying everything that
Chris wants to say. What is insane? I bring up
Carlos Beltron and we'll take your We'll take your phone
calls and feedback at eight seven, seven, nine nine on
Fox because Carlos Beltron, if you remember, was the Mets
manager for a minute, never even manage the game because

(53:49):
the astro scandal came down and Beltron was one of
the few players or people named. And just for optic reasons,
the Mets had to say listen, grand cosin Chris Rock style,
because you can't start a whole new chapter your career
like that host of Jeopardy, the producer, the guy never

(54:11):
even hosted one game of Jeopardy, Grand Opening, Grand Close,
your boy. Aaron Judge of the Yankees is sticking up
for Beltron because he said, Carlos Beltron doesn't need to
explain anything of what went down back in the asteroid
days because Beltron now does some I think he does.
He does some, but I'm not even trying to disagree

(54:32):
with you. Ever, he does some broadcasting work, right, and
he's gonna be on your boy Michael Kay's Center Stage
show and he does address it. That's gonna air tomorrow.
If you're a New York person and you watch the
Yankee coverage, your boy Michael Kay sits down with Carlos Beltron,
who's a new analyst. But why should Beltron? Does he

(54:52):
owe it to you, me or anyone to be like, yo,
here's my story. When you've done something wrong, aren't there
times we're like, yo, guilty? I don't know what you
want to tell you? Like I was guilty. I did
something wrong. I had a mistake. Like what do you
want Will Smith to say? Well, it's like y'all Will
Smith deep downside of probably like YO, left up. I'm dumb.
Why would I do that? I ruined it? I had
to withdraw from the academy. Oh jeez. Chris Rocks probably

(55:15):
thinking like I was humiliated. I want to say stuff,
but I don't want to, like I don't want to
just kind of want to drop it, drop it. But
everyone's like, well, what's Chris Rock gonna say? Oh, what's
Carlos Beltro. I'm gonna say, hey, to give the obvious answer,
but public figure, your public figure, so that comes with
the territory. So so, but that's not my answer. That's
not that's the obvious. Getting it out of the way,

(55:35):
I'd love to hear feedback from everybody at eight seven
nine Fox, get this Carlos belt it on as part
of the seventeen Houston Astros who beat the Dodgers? Did
everybody forget that? Who? Little Stawyers? And now he's working
for the Yes Network as an analyst and you're saying

(55:58):
he doesn't owe any response to the public, yet he's
a public figure years later. Okay, hold on, it doesn't
mean it didn't happen. And I'm not trying to disagree
with Rich for the sake of it. I reallyhheartedly disagree
because I hate the Astros, because I'm a Yankees fan.
Just this past week. Here's why he has to address

(56:21):
it on center stage with Michael Kay into all the
Yankee fans if he wants to win over the Yankee
fans as an analyst, and he was a former Yankee. Right,
let's keep that in my pasture. He was a former Yankee.
Played well. Everybody respects how Carlos Beltrn played the game.
But just this past week, Yankees General manager Brian Cashman

(56:45):
blamed publicly at a press conference. He blamed the World
Series drought on the Astros. He said what they did
was illegal and horrific. I quote Brian Cashman, their actions
were illegal and horrific. Now when you have the Yankees

(57:06):
GM publicly stating that, and Carlos Beltran is going to
be speaking as one of the voices of the Yankees,
you don't think he has to address it? Your thoughts
eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox More coven on
Rich next right here, Yo Covin on Rich. The Dollars

(57:27):
Shave Club six Blade razor brings noticeably smooth shaves with
six stainless steel blades for swift hair removal and a
lubricating strip that keeps things smooth. So smooth. Dollars Shape
Club raisors are sold a Dollar Shave Club dot Com
or in stores. Cavino Enrich at Covino Enrich on social

(57:48):
media at Steve Cavino at Rich Davis at Spots Center
shouldn't check us out. Danny g is here Bo Bo
Steve to say your Fox Sports radio Grammy Sunday. I
saw Billie Eilish performing. I saw Justin Bieber wearing some
ridiculous outfit. Chris Stapleton one what country artists of the year,
that country man. I now ban it because of Eric

(58:11):
Church his choice to go to the North Carolina game
instead of playing for his fans. We talked about that earlier.
But you know what, I think it's coming back. Remember
the like late nineties, early two thousand's oversized suits that
NBA players would wear at every NBA draft. You can
tell what year they were drafted in the NBA based

(58:32):
on the slim or loose fit of their suit. I'm
telling you, I think it's coming back. Everything's full circle, right.
We talked about the Batman, Robert Pattinson, he was rocking
some oversized suit recently at a red carpet, and Justin
Bieber showed up today in that same look, like something
lebron would have worn. Actually looked like something from the
Bronze closet because it's that big on Justin Bieber. But

(58:55):
we're talking about Carlos built it on Carlos and Chris
Rock and Will Smith and any public any public figure
that we wait for a public statement from. And my
take is this, I don't like the culture of of
like forcing apologies. I don't like my whole point, but

(59:16):
addressing it, I mean, yeah, I mean I just had
to ask you just pretend in real life? Don't you
hate when when people pretend like some something didn't happen?
I hate that. I hate when my own kid does that.
My kids could give me attitude like crazy, right, and
then she just wants to be sweetest pie. I'm like,
wait a second, did you forget all the things you
said before based on our conversation you wanted to based

(59:39):
on our conversations today, you insinuated that it's better to
just lie. I did in that in that church story,
and I don't respect his true fake and fake apologies
get an eye roll from not only me, but most people.
No one wants to fake apology. If someone gets caught
doing some crap they're not supposed to be doing. What's
more eye rolling than totally crafted from a person disingenuous apology? Right,

(01:00:08):
So I ask you this, if you think Carlos Beltron
and by the way, he is gonna sit down and
you'll hear tomorrow. Him and Michael K apparently talked about
the scandal scandal and he said, hey, listen to the astros.
We were wrong, and he goes into it and apparently
you here, you'll hear more tomorrow. But do athletes and
celebrities owe us explanations or when you get caught doing

(01:00:31):
something dumb? Can it just be that if you can
when when you watch the Tom Brady TV twelve documentary.
You can't just use the media when it when it
is beneficial to you, you know what I mean. If
it's all good things, you know you're gonna get bad criticism.
You're gonna have to address it. I think Carlos Beltron

(01:00:52):
put himself in a place where, yeah, he has to
address it. He doesn't have to apologize. I don't expect
him to apologize. I'm with you on that, but he's
gonna now have to use the media to address this
if he wants to be accepted by the Yankees fans again,
if he wants to win over the Yankee fans. I mean,
because again he's a broadcaster now an analyst on the

(01:01:13):
Yes Network for the Yankees and the Astra seventeen astros
sort of ruin their flow? How detail? How detailed? As
I'm asking you this and we'll we'll take your phone
calls and will move on. How detailed of an apology
or explanation do you want from your athletes or celebrities
and the people in your life? And I asked this
because if you watch the TV twelve, the Tom Brady

(01:01:34):
Man in the Arena documentary, they bring up the flake gate,
they brush past it. Julian Edelman, Oh, he missed four games,
that's right, steroids they brush past it. I saw the
guys from Barstool ribbing him a little bit, being like
making steroid jokes, and he's like, what do you want
him to say? Hey, listen, guys, I got caught. You

(01:01:56):
know it's obvious. It's like if I showed Bobo's girl
a picture of him which strippers laying naked on him,
and she's like, Bobo, how is Bobo gonna be like, yeah,
it's got caught or is he gonna like it depends?
He's sorry, sorry that he got more? Can you say?
Sometimes when you get caught doing something, you don't want

(01:02:16):
people to see your No, what do you want an
explanation for Hey, athlete got coached, because when you are
man when again you're bringing this into real life. When
you don't address things doesn't mean you need to apologize
when you don't address them. And we're all victims of
maybe trying to move past things and forgetting it and
brushing under the run. But when you don't address things,
resentment builds. Just for the record, maybe there are no Yeah,

(01:02:41):
total did not take pictures at night. I mean not
from exactly, but if you did, if you did get
caught doing something dumb in your life or at work.
Let's say let's say you get caught at work and
you get fired for doing something dumb. Hey, you just
get fired, You move on. You don't need to expedience.
Sometimes an explanation isn't necessary. Super receive day from Michigan.
You're on with coven On Rich and I bring this

(01:03:02):
up because Carlos Beltron, Hey listen, he's sitting down with
Michael k He's talking about the Seen Astro saying we
were wrong, we cheated. It's said it was tainted. Right,
Beltran admitted that World Series was tainted. But I think
that Beltrand is probably doing it because what Cavino said,
if he wants to the Yankee fan base to embrace him,
he needs to do Yeah, he needs to do it.

(01:03:24):
But the reality is, when you get caught doing something,
you know, the people apologize every time time that it
makes in real life, anytime you get caught doing anything,
you're gonna have to regain the trust of whoever it
is you. Sort of, that is true, and that's what
he's trying to do right now. What's up, super ced,
what's up fellas? How's everybody doing? Good man? What's up? Bro? Yes,

(01:03:49):
this is the official holiday, soon to be the official holiday,
and this is the inner city sports analysts, and this
is the super perspective. What you want to comment on Church,
I want to comment on Bruce Arians and I want
to comment on Will Smith. Let's start with Will Smith
and Chris Rock. But before that, Genie Bus, Genie Bus,

(01:04:11):
can you adjust what we asked? Can you? Let's let's
go on it. We'll play a little game called what
does superceed? They think? Yeah, perfect, Chris Rock and Will
Smith go okay, this is what they need to do.
Will Smith needs to let Chris Rock smack him back
on live TV. Right They need to make a movie.

(01:04:34):
They need to make a movie after that, so let it. Yeah,
Chris Rock needs to smack Will Smith. Will Smith deserves it,
and then they can make a movie together. It would
be beautiful. Next next, um, your thoughts on Eric Church
canceling his concert to attend the Final Four because he's
a super fan. I believe he should have did that
because here's the thing. What else? But what else does

(01:04:57):
he need to do? He needs to refund those people, Uh,
their rooms stay and they're traveling. He needs to refund
that as well. But who who was it? Caveno or Rich?
That agrees with me? That's Rich. I think he did
the right thing by canceling. But he just needs to
take care of his people. What she's doing, Yeah, take
care of your people. You always can make another show date. No,

(01:05:19):
not for everybody, Not for everybody, you know, you know,
Derek Jeter says, there's not always next year, So you
don't know, you don't know. That could have been someone's
like dying wish to see Eric Church one last time.
You don't know any other final thoughts. Super Receipting wanted
to talk about Pruce Arians. Yeah, what's your thoughts of
Bruce Arians? Uh huh, I told you so. And you

(01:05:43):
know what, that's why, Bruce, I think probably because he
got fired because probably, I think because of that bad
decision with Antonio Brown, get out of here. He doesn't
have the mental capacity. He doesn't have the mental capacity.
He's a glumpy old man and he deserves to be retired.
And by the way, he's not retid. He's working at
the front office, Thank you, Reid. And you know, it's

(01:06:03):
interesting because I heard Colin Cowherd say that every time
something like this happens out of the blue, there's something
going on, like like when something doesn't make sense that like,
don't don't be fooled. Something was going down behind the scenes.
It wasn't a natural like oh, you know, Bruce arians
step it away. It wasn't. It was oddly timed. Everything

(01:06:26):
about it made it seem like something's something like Tom
Brady's pulling the strings. Let's go. There's a lot of
people on hold, okay, so I want them to hang tight,
all right, Hank tight. What's your take on this Colos
Beltrent thing in public figures and apologies and and addressing
addressing things. That's all eight see on Fox, We're gonna

(01:06:47):
get to your phone calls. But Steve di Siger first
was trending. Steve, We'll start with the NBA. Most games
are final. San Antonio has sent Portland to a seventh
straight loss one thirteen. Spurs now two games up on
the Lakers for the final playing spot, and san Antonio
owns the tiebreaker and the regular season ends a week
from tonight. Lakers just lost their six game in a
row today in l A. Denver beat him one, twenty

(01:07:09):
nine to one eighteen Anthony Davis twenty eight points despite
the foot injury. Boston and Dallas with wins. Oklahoma City
beat Phoenix one seventeen ninety six Devin Booker and DeAndre eight,
and we're out for rest tonight. Minnesota and Miami with
road wins. Detroit and New York as well. In women's hoops,
it's late third quarter of the National Championship Game in Minneapolis.

(01:07:29):
Number one ranks South Carolina still leads Yukon forty three
to twenty nine. Auburn seven footer Walker Kessler declared for
the NBA draft. Among the nine NHL games, final minute,
it's Minnesota five one at Washington. Denny Hamlin took the
NASCAR race at Richmond. Kevin Harvick finished second. White Sucks
pitcher Lance Lynn will miss at least a month. They'll

(01:07:51):
have knee surgery for a torn tendon. The Padres acquired
lefty pitcher Sean Maniah from the A's. Then he had
four strikeouts against Oakland at spring training today about four
innings of pitching. He was top ten and strikeouts in
the American League last season. MLB Network, by the way,
it talks about the A's payroll as they continue to
trade away players, that the A's had the highest payroll

(01:08:11):
in baseball in thirty three million dollars that year, the
very same number of the A's payroll right now. In
spring training game, Mets pitcher Chris Bassett X of Oakland
five innings, four runs allowed, but six strikeouts and win
over Miami eight to four. Robinson Canoe went four for
four and Sunny Gray and his twins debut pitch four

(01:08:31):
scoreless inning, six strikeouts, no walks, and he beat the
Orioles eight to two. Miguel Sah homer and three r
b I s as the O's offense went three for thirty.
MLB Opening Day is Thursday, back to you mom pumped
about that. Steve the Sager, I know you pointed out
how the Spurs are pretty hot right now. They're like Hansel,
They're so hot right now, They're like you and your
early two thousand's. Actually it's just that the Lakers are

(01:08:54):
not hot. Well, it's the I was gonna say. When
you look at the last let's say, the last seven games.
Right in the last seven games, the Lakers are one
in six and the Spurs are six and one. So
there was there were people that thought, well, the Lakers
will at least get the playing game. Not gonna happen
unless unless san Antonio totally poops the bed, Yes said
poops over the last four games of four games left,

(01:09:15):
two back and the Tidebreakers, owned by san Antonio, is
Lebron gonna play all four games he didn't play today
are at Phoenix, next game at Golden State this week
as well. You know, it's wild how we're talking, like
what a quick turnaround, Like you lose six in a
row and the team chasing you win six of seven
and Lakers just poor luck. Also thirty one and forty seven.

(01:09:38):
They don't deserve to go anywhere but home after next time, Yeah,
when you're when you're sixteen games under five hundred, why
are we even talking about postseason anything? That's right, Thank you, Steve.
I know why you're talking about it because you don't
want to address your Mets and the bad luck that
they have baseballs four days away. I'm gonna I do
want to bring that up because the two aces of
the Mets are down with injury. The season hasn't even

(01:10:01):
started yet, but I'm pumped from baseball. You're talking about
the Spurs, I'm talking baseball. It's Cavino and Rich on
Fox Sports Radio speaking of baseball. Uh, Carlos Beltron is
in the news. Just to give you a quick story again,
he's an analyst on the S Network. He's gonna be
addressing the Houston Astros because he was a part of

(01:10:22):
that team which got in away of Yankee success. Just
this week, Brian Cashman said it was illegal and horrific,
and Laron Judge, though you're superstar player, Aaron Judge, let
me give you the flip side because while Brian Cashman
the GM is saying it's disgraceful, it probably is the
reason the Yankees have had their World Series drought. Blah,
blah blah blah blah. Aaron Judge, your star player is saying,

(01:10:45):
Carlos Beltron was so helpful to me off the field, helpful,
helpful to me on the field, with different approaches in
the batter's box, saying that Beltron is a good man
and owes no explanation. I think he has to address
it and move forward. Yeah, Hey, he was great to Hey,
he was great to Aaron Judge. Right, So of course

(01:11:05):
he's gonna say that Carlos Beltrn wasn't great to me.
He did nothing for me personally. I'd like to hear
what happened. The headline reads, Carlos Beltron addresses Astros sign
stealing scandal for the first time. Quote, we were wrong.
And it's a sit down he had with Michael Kay
And I'd imagine that's the best place to probably have
that sit down, because if he's gonna be on the
Yankees network and he's gonna be part of that broadcast team,

(01:11:27):
and if he wants in with the fans, yeah, if
the fans, yeah, if he wants any New York especially
Yankees fan to like him, that's the only circum addressing
and move on, addressing and move on because I do
agree with like, yeah, we gotta move on, even like
this Will Smith thing right, gotta move on from him,
like Christ every every night when Chris Rock does comedy,

(01:11:48):
people like oh it's tonight, then that he's gonna say something. No, no,
he will eventually, but like you'll stop wait, stop waiting,
we gotta move on from it, move on, and that
that applies to everything in life. Address it and move on.
I know you did make a good point though before
can you now you said a lot of times when
you don't address it, that's when when weird revealings and
resentments did you start to build. But whether it's Edelman's

(01:12:09):
steroid back in the steroids, back in the day, Tom Brady,
the flake Gate, a lot of these superstars you just said,
you move it along, like we we're waiting for comments,
with comments or what you got caught, it's always better
just to to just address it and move on. I
hate to use another Yankee example, but you know Alex

(01:12:29):
Rodriguez was drank through the mud because he never addressed
it right, never dressed and he lied about it. But
then I never addressed it. Andy Pettitt addressed it immediate.
I will say that is that is your best point,
because Andy pettit's like glistening guys, here's what happened rehabbing.
And during my rehabbing, I did some h g H
because I was I was trying to get back in
the the hell sooner than later. And here's what happened.

(01:12:51):
I addressed it. Bamn. Everybody moved on, address it and
move on. So Carlos Beltran has to address it and
move on your thoughts. Eight seven seven on Fox, Rich
was saying he doesn't owe anything, kind of like along
the lines of what Aaron Judge is saying. Yeah, listen,
that's the law. It's history five years ago. Ryan and
Nashville start with you, Ryan, what's going on? Buddy? Thanks

(01:13:12):
for taking the call. Uh. You know, I'm a Dodgers fan,
and I feel like the Yankees the YES Network is
like slapping Yankees fans in the face. Uh, you know,
as a Dodgers fan, if if they hire Jose Altuve
to do games. Yeah, I mean you know what I'm saying.

(01:13:37):
That's a great point. Yeah to me, that like, to me,
is not so much even on Jose Altuve as it
is on Dodger brass Well that's the same thing that
Yankees are doing. We're gonna put a guy that that
flat out ripped us away a possible championship. Uh took

(01:13:59):
took Aaron Judge's m VP that year, Holtby did and
now we're going to bring a guy from that team.
The only difference, the only difference is Beltran. Beltran played
three years with the Yankees, seen and like he played
with the Nationals. That's the only difference. Otherwise, I do

(01:14:20):
agree with you. I agree with you. It's it is
a bit of a slap in the face. Therefore it
needs to address it. I'm still waiting. I'm still waiting
for the Astros to deliver the World Series Trophy the
Dodger Stadium, you know, I mean, I haven't forgotten about it.
And so see that's the thing Rich Rich has. You
know why I have. You know why. It's easy for
Rich You made a great point, man, and thank you

(01:14:44):
for your phone call. Eight nine Fox. It's easy for
us to say move on. It's been five years. It
didn't affect you or any team you root for. This
guy still holds a grudge that he's a Dodgers. That's
why it's been fits Sometimes to root for losers. Yeah,
but that's why I like your opinion really doesn't matter, Bobo.

(01:15:06):
Bobo says it affected him, still does, he's still mad
about it. Let's go to Chaz Chaz in Maine. You
know what, Chazz and here we're gonna get to your call.
Make a guy named Chaz hole do you okay? Fine,
it's actually you're eleven year old fans Chaz Hank Tight
Hank Tight Chazz cut into his homework time. We got

(01:15:27):
more necks right here in covene on Rich, Welcome back
to Caveno and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports
Radio dot Com, the I Heart Radio app, and our
stomping Grounds s x M channel eight three. It was
called eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. I'm Steve
Cavino from Union, New Jersey. Yeah, that's Rich Davis. He

(01:15:50):
put the square in Franklin Square, Long Island. Well here
in California, in Los Angeles, the mean streets of l
A live from the Barrios. Yeah, the main streets of
Sherman Oaks Yea and spots here mean mug and everybody
with Boba and Danny g and Steve And I'm so
excited Rich because we're one week away. I'm just doing
this out there. Not only are we four days away

(01:16:12):
from baseball baseball, but we're lett No, there's a there's
a middleweight unification about next week. I'm just trying to
get you. I'm trying to build the hype because we'll
talk about it next week. Tell me when you're gonna
talk about it, so I could use the restaurant. No,
I'm gonna just I'm just like hype it right now.
We'll talk about it next week. Big drama in Japan
this Saturday, bro Saturday, April Night, Big drama in Japan.

(01:16:34):
King Hippo von Kaiser No Man, Triple Don flamenco versus
uh super matrons said no, no, they're heavyweights. I'm talking
about middleweight unification. Drama show Triple G. I'm going to
Japan drama show Mexican Style. He's the ib F and
i BOT champion and he's facing Marna this coming weekend.

(01:16:56):
Just how disrespectful spots chewing peanuts a microphone in front
of it, doesn't even care. I thought, I like Triple G,
so I will watch it back. All right, let's take
a few phones, just trying to hype you up. By
the way, speaking of trying to hype you up, you
can closing the gap a little bit in the women's
National Championship game right now? Yeah, almost within ten. Yeah,
as we go to your phone calls, Chaz and Maine,

(01:17:18):
we'll take a few phone calls and then we'll talk
a little baseball. I have some thoughts that will we'll
dive into what's up chairs, Hey, what's a buddy, what's
on your what's on your mind this week? Um? So
real quick about that thing because it's like an hour
and um my bedtime. O. Man, Sorry, buddy, I won't

(01:17:43):
tell your parents. I love it all right. Um. So,
basically I think that he should go attrish it and
say what you did, or like a light apology to
apologize what I just want to say, and just the
Yankees just shrug your shoulders and making so mad when
I sit back and watch. Yeah, you know it would
make the Yankee fans furious. That's a great point, young Chaz.

(01:18:04):
You're smart. You're smart. Fell He brings the heat, brings
Chazz points in you. He brings he brings the heat
more than most adults. Um, it would be funny if
Carlos Beltram was like, listen, I'm now employed by the
yesterday work. I'm a Yankee guy, but uh, I don't
regret what I did. He went like, Hollywood Hogan, take
a few more fun Conor McGregor style, like I want

(01:18:27):
to thank. I want to take this time to thank
absolutely nobody. I want to take So it's got a
hue in Texas. Hey, you or apologize to absolutely nobody
whatever he'said, Hey, what's up? Man? Hi? Hi should retire
so many bad choices. A Catcher Canada fan who does

(01:18:48):
that these days? A short stop who is succeeded by
another failure. Short stop, just take his seat, Brian, but
somebody else do it? Who can do it better? And
stop using five year old Thanks man, I appreciate the
phone call. I really do. Eight on Fox. Thanks for

(01:19:12):
being part of the Caveno and Rich experience. Let's go
to Holler and James in Minnesota. Hey, Hey, James, great
to be on your showstic job and broadcasting. Thank you man.
You're welcome, man, and I got a question for you.
What do you think about my Surgey Minnesota timber Wolves
and my Minnesota Surgey and wild Well, I'll tell you

(01:19:33):
what I don't know much about your wild because I'm
not Canadian and don't like hockey. No, but but I
will tell you Minnesota could make could make some noise.
And listen the NBA, and they're twins, Sonny Gray with
the big game, and you got those Yankee bats who
will step up because they're not on the Yankees anymore.
Gary Lazy Sanchez and her Sheela twins are gonna be

(01:19:53):
pretty solid. And you know what, the t Wolves, you
know what, they should hope for it. They should hope
to not have to be in any of this playing nonsense.
They can maybe sneak into that sixth seed if Utash
stumbles a little bit. So hey, good luck to your Timberwolves.
They're all right, they're all right. Um, we'll talk some baseball,
we'll talk some life, we'll talk everything coming up next
right here, Cavino and rich and anything you want to

(01:20:15):
tryme in on at Covino and Richer at Fox Sports Radio.
Um to gram, sure, sir, I'm not worried. You're not worried.
And I'll explain why he hasn't even started yet. No
methans should be worried. I'll explain coming up right here.
That's us We're Covino and Rich and we'll get by
one of our favorite cities, Las Vegas, the greatest arena

(01:20:37):
on Earth. Plan your trip today at visit Las Vegas
dot com. In fact, we're just talking about how we're
gonna do a little uh and of April Vegas. Hang, So,
Grammys are there right now Las Vegas. Hey, South Carolina's
up forty one with four minutes left, and the women's
National Championship. Will keep you posted on that. We're Covino

(01:20:59):
and Rich on social media. Spotties here, Danny g Bobolos
are open eight seven seven on Fox. We're just days
away from baseball and and and Rich. You know how
I was hyping up that Triple G fight next week?
Can I hype up one more thing? Yeah, dude, not
only is baseball days away, but today Donnie Baseball, the

(01:21:19):
documentary debut on the MLB Network. No, I'm serious, Donnie
Baseball debut the documentary, and I heard it's fantastic, Don
mattingly likable guy. Yeah. So you know, when you're done
watching Winning Time later on the Rise of the Lakers
Dynasty on HBO Max, you can check out Donnie Baseball
and see what the hype was all about. If you

(01:21:41):
weren't in New York, you might not you might not
have been as impressed by the numbers. But he meant
everything to me as a kid growing up. There's a
whole episode dedicated just to his mustache. So oh yeah,
and the and the Mullet is episode three, right, I
think it's that's episode five, documentary thing. I'm not sure,

(01:22:01):
but it's on the MLB network, Done Baseball as we
get fired up for baseball again. I'm Steve Covino, Yankees fan.
You can hold that against me if you want. That's
Rich Davis, mean the Rich Davis that just tweeted from
at Covin on Rich, Hey, Mets fans, there's no reason
for concern, a huge overreaction. I'll explain on Fox Sports
right now. Let's hear it, because you know Rich is

(01:22:23):
a lifelong Mets fan. What a tease, which means Rich
is a man of good character. And I know about this.
He is loyal to the worst team every Yeah, I'm saying.
I know about disappointment. I know about letdown. We talked
about Carlos Beltrn last hour. I know about looking at
third called strikes. I know all about letdowns, I know
all about injuries. I greatest thing the Mets did in

(01:22:44):
the past twenty years was when Bobby Valentine wore that
fake mustache in the in the dugout. That was the
best thing in the last twenty years. Honestly, every time
I think about that, I can't believe it really happened.
Bobby Cobby Magic, Bobby Valentine was was thrown out of
a game. Can I tell you the true and he
comes back into the dugout with you know how they

(01:23:04):
wear the EyeBlack. He wore it as a mustache and
he sat there like no one was going to catch him.
Don't have the sad reality that's over twenty years ago.
I feel old. Yet I hear that mustache sold for
more than Brady's uh quote unquote last touchdown football. I
have it. Actually, I own it spot, I owned dollars.
I own a autographed Seaver jersey, the late great Tom Seaver.

(01:23:27):
I own a Bobby Magic, a clipping of Gary Carter's
perm and I owe uh and I own Bobby Valentine's
fake mustache, all the memorabili a Mets fan would want. Oh,
and I I own the horse that you want assess
fell off of nice. So was it true you own
the top hat that used to have out in center
field for the home runs? Do you actually use it

(01:23:48):
as a hack as they're so big? I do. I do.
I own the old helmet, the old apple. So I'll
tell you why met fans should not be concerned, because
if you're a fan of Major League Baseball or you
casually watch, I get it. Baseball is not the same
excitement as the NFL. I'm a big NFL guy like
all of you, but I do like me some baseball.

(01:24:10):
I mean East Coast guy. I feel like East Coast
people love baseball a little bit more East Coast people
and like eighty year old guys. It's East Coast people. There.
There are maybe TB the Baby. There are die hard
Dodgers fans out here. Those daryears got a following. But
I'll tell you what, Like if you're the Angels, I've
been out in l A six years, and I don't
know if I've ever seen one Angels rise. I've been

(01:24:32):
out I've been living out here six years. You see
a hell of a lot of Dodger hats. Maybe because
it's a good looking blue hat with an l A
on it. But you know, I've never seen one dude
with a red angel's head unless I got a shoutow
at our boy, Nacho, No we do, Yeah, I got.
We worked with at the other Sports of networker at
espn NA. He was he was a die hard fan.

(01:24:52):
That is true. He was the one guy that's like, yeah,
we're pools. Is still good. Um, I'll tell you why
the Mets fans should not be concerned. I'm reading up
and Jacob de Gram. The headline is very salacious, and
it's very misleading. It's and it's very you know what
it does, it's it's it's trying to go with the
narrative that the Mets just have no luck and they stink.

(01:25:14):
And I get it because I'm a Mets fan. That
narrative is very popular. Jacob Degram provided an update today
the latest on his injury. In fact, here's what he said.
He said, my level of frustration is really high. I mean,
I came into camp feeling great. My elbow and shoulder
were in the best shape, so to hear a stress

(01:25:36):
reaction in the bone was definitely something I was not expecting.
But its frustrations are high. Now, other players that have
had this said it could be something in weeks. He's fine,
they're saying minimum. They're saying minimum. He's not going to
throw a picture of a month, right, that's a lot.
But let's say let's say the gram misses. I'm gonna

(01:25:59):
say five starts right, five starts again, that's wishful thinking.
And by the way, the update could spot while I
tell you this, can you Google used the Google machine
or a Fox Sports machine for for Max Scherzer because
it looks like he's good to go. That was that
was also a hamstring tightness. Everyone's like, and he's out
to no no, so down he really it's again another

(01:26:21):
misleading sort of hingess. Is that what you're saying his
bullpen session on Tuesday? Hold on, I was buying into
the fact that Sars is not going to be your
opening day guy because he's hurt too. Will know as
of Tuesday your favorite day Tuesday, Max Sharzer's fate. You're right,
he really realized on a bullpen session he has tightness

(01:26:43):
in the ham me. I mean I got him tight hamstrings.
He's got a tight hand. I still go for walks
and do legs. Good legs Today called the discomfort and
his hamstring a quote haiccup and indicated he is not
concerned at all Opening days special, but they want to
do what's best for the club long term. He got
a little strainer, ru A little when you put a

(01:27:06):
little a ru at the end of it sounds a
little more playful. It's not oh yeah, yeah, yeah, a
little strain, a row, little straining. So Buck Show Walter
is the best possible thing that has happened to the
Mets in quite a while. This guy is the most
composed veteran leader. Everyone loves him. I thought something that

(01:27:26):
was cool. I'm surprised I haven't talked about this yet
on Fox Sports. Do you know that the veterans, like
the Keith hernandez Is of the world, We're not allowed
on the field because they were considered quote press and
a distraction because of their legacy with the Mets, who
hardly win the eight six Mets or so revere. There's
like keep them away. Every coach was intimidated, every previous manager.

(01:27:48):
Buck show Walter said, I'm Buck show Walter. I got
that energy. Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, whoever wants to come
here has that Pilgrim energy. He looks like he looks
like he used to us out of his baseball uniform
and puts his Pilgrim outfit on after buckshow Walter is
his buckle shoes has pretty much said, Hey, okay, I'm

(01:28:09):
so confident and I'm Buck show Walter. I want anyone
who cares about this team's success to be here. Hey,
Keith Hernandez, if you want to go by the batting
cage and if you see Peter Alonzo dropping his shoulder,
or if you see someone's you know, hey McNeil, you're
a lefty like I was, take a step take a
step back in the box. Let you He agreed. That

(01:28:30):
great move by Buck Show Walter because he's confident enough
in his coaching ability and his like he respects the
the legends, the Mets legends. That's ridiculous. Keith Hernandez wasn't
allowed on the field when they were taking BP. The
dude is one of the voices of the Mets and
the face of the franchise. That's one good thing that

(01:28:50):
Mets having there. Because I'm I'm usually the negative Mets
fan that's we're gonna blow it. But I think this
is an overstated Mets had hype, and now everyone's like
it's already collapsing. Buckshow Walter has his team already focused
and shares her hiccup if he takes a bullpen session
on this bullpen session on Tuesday, if he's fine, he

(01:29:14):
goes Opening Day, and then he got starting. Right, Let's
say the Gram misses even six weeks. Let's say it's
six starts. I'm even an exaggerate six starts, right, it's
got a hammy whammy. Oh that is innocent when you
say that hammy whammy. So let's say serious. Let's say
let's say the Gram has six starts. He's gonna miss

(01:29:35):
It's that stinks. That's depressing for de Gram. Six starts.
Best case scenario, Right, let's be real. If he's on
his game five and one, yeah, five and one, five
one replacement picture. If some guy holds his own like
a spot starter and goes let's say three and three

(01:30:01):
in the big picture, a two game swing. Is that
worth all this hub up? No? Not yet? Better? Now? Better? Now? Like,
are you assuming you want your do you want your aces?
That you want your aces to go thirty to thirty
five starts? Right? But if if the guy's going to
miss six games early on in the season, but that's

(01:30:23):
not a good way. So what are we assuming that
the Gram would have gone six and oh and the
replacement is going to go oh and six? Come on,
I think I think I'd rather I took the bait.
I thought it was more severe they're describing it, or
maybe you're just downplaying it, But I'm you've convinced me
the Mets fans no need to worry yet, I rather

(01:30:43):
the ace. And this call me crazy, but Danny g
bo Bo you guys at Dodgers fans, would you rather
your ace miss a month or month and a half?
By the way you see Kershaw, he's like solid, bro.
Would you want your ace to miss a month month
and a half? Would you want an every day god
that's batt in second or third to miss a month

(01:31:05):
a month and a half. A position player day to
day is way more important. You want Scherzer and the
Gram to be at full capacity and full health when
it matters, like right, if there's gonna be a time
where the Gram's tight and not ready April opposed to
like September, October, please to make it now. This is

(01:31:26):
like I'm sold Mets fans. I'm here to tell another question.
The number one Mets fan on Planet Earth and the
number one Mets fan on Fox Sports Radio. Let me
tell you, baseball fans, the Mets are gonna be just fine.
Can I ask you about Keith her Nanzez. Don't you
mentioned the better Mustache and don matting Never there's no
Keith Hernandez documentary on MLB as we speak. No one

(01:31:49):
called it Keithy Baseball, Donny Baseball. I'm gonna start calling
a keepy baseball. Let me ask you this, how many
world see he's at m VPS that domatting him one?
Did Mattingly have a stellar appearance on Seinfeld? I don't
think so. He's a legend. Dude, remember this and this

(01:32:12):
is a great sports debate thirty years. Yeah, you know,
I really do that, Keith, this is more mammoth than
do Mattingly. That's like the New York. That's the New
York Danny J grown up in New York. That's the
lame equivalent of like m J versus Lebron, Donny Baseball.
Most of his success with St. Louis Man. Donnie Baseball

(01:32:33):
is a Yankee through and through, So hold on, he
he is he He rocked the pin stripes his entire career.
He's like the only Yankee legend that doesn't have a
World Series though. So you can say that he's bad luck, Listen,
I'm not. I'm not doing that debate. That's like Lebron
or Jordan's. That's a retired debate. Donnie Baseball had more

(01:32:55):
than a little strain in his back. Roo. Yeah, definitely.
I heard something about Keith her Nandez and I kind
of agreed with him, didn't he Because he's an old
school like no Bs type of guy. Turn is the
type of guy. And I'm just by no means has
he done this to my knowledge, but he seems the

(01:33:17):
type of guy that would smack you in the face
because he don't like it. He seems to be that
type of guy. You know what. We we worked with
them at s and y years ago. He wasn't the
nicest to us. But then again, he's Keith her Nandez, right.
You know, if there's one criticism of Keith He's it
could be a criticism or something you love about him, Like,
depending on who you want. Wasn't no Bs two? You're
an old school person, you'll love everything about Keith Nandez.

(01:33:38):
If you're like new school and a little more quote woke,
you'll hate Keith Nandez. I heard that he came out
and publicly stated that he hates the new Washington uniform.
There's a Washington Nationals alternate uniform. I don't wa put
you on the spot maybe after the breakdown, and I
thought the same thing though, I thought the same thing.
They're like, Keith, what do you think of the new
Nationals jerseys? And they got like flowers on them, and

(01:34:00):
he's like, Jesus, no, cherry cherry, cherry blossoms. I mean,
that's a beautiful time. It's a big thing, and it
represents travel from all around the world to see the
cherry blossoms in DC. So when I saw it, I
was like, Okay, I get it, but I didn't necessarily
like love it, and it wasn't an April Fool joke, which,

(01:34:20):
by the way, I did love spot. I bet did
you fall for the Buffalo Bill's new helmet with a
buffalo wing on it? Did see that one? There was
a few good I thought that was a I like
the where when I go to Buffalo wildly said he
was done. Hedelman said he was gonna be a buccaneer.
What about Helman's butter butter fl butterfinger flavored mayonnaise? Did

(01:34:42):
you see that one? No? I didn't see that. The
Jimmy fallon Jimmy Kimmel mix up. There are a couple
that was good. I actually enjoyed that. Well, Hey, by
the way, it looks like South Carolina one. What do
you mean, looks like the comfetti coming from the ceiling
looks like you never know, hold on, hold on, you
never want to pull like a John Sterling. No, you

(01:35:02):
know it's gonna be the MS. I wanted to make
sure it wasn't a replay, but hugging and excitement or
could have been a highlight from years you know ago?
I don't know. So. Congratulations South Carolina the women's national champions. Congratulations,

(01:35:23):
but could it be the sad look on coach Gino
every m space that Connecticut did not win. We have
more coven on rich and your thoughts and he takes
on baseball as we get into the season. I pose
a question real quick, write this number down, guys, Fox,
It's Grammy Sunday. Would you rather be a rock star

(01:35:46):
or an athlete. And I have the answer and a
reason why. And I'll explain that next. And Rich, by
the way, are you playing some mud vein? My man?
Bobo bringing it some real music? As Olivia Rodrigo wins
the Grammy Award, that's rude. I love mud vein. You

(01:36:08):
think has more credibility than that. This is her second
award of the night teen superhooks. She looks beautiful. I mean,
your bully, I don't like that music. I have to
like it. No, I gotta like what you like. But
you just said, you just said mud veine real music
to me. I don't having to pay everything else that
I've played. She did steal her music from Paramore. Yeah,

(01:36:32):
I'm supposed to like it. He was congratulating her. Well,
you're rude. It was a backhand in column. I was
gonna say, you know, they're going on tour with Static X.
No one cares power Man and Rob Zombie Freaks on parade.
I hope they canceled and go to go to a
sporting event. I also heard I took the fence that
you didn't like the rest of the music, and I
like all of it. Bobo, I like all of it.
If you're listening on our podcast, you might not hear it,

(01:36:54):
but we appreciate you checking us out. Fox Sports Radio
dot com. Cavino and Rich. We have our own podcast.
Looking up Cavino and Rich. We're on social media. It's
Fox Sports Radio. Trevor Noah's hosting the Grammys as we speak.
South Carolina just won the Woman's National Championship. No, but
Trevor Noah apparently took a dig at Will Smith tonight.
That's the big that's the boss. I don't like Trevor

(01:37:16):
no I'm not a big fan either, but based on
am I allowed to say that? Or you can get
mad at me. You can say that it was hilarious
Trevor Noah hilarious high when you watch no Maybe he's
no Jon Stewart. Maybe he's not John Stewart at all.
Let me funny hosting Grammys and and sports together. And

(01:37:37):
here's why I bring this up again. Grammy Awards are
being given out. Do you like the view? Two Bubba,
he's a big joy behar fan. Have her name tattooed
on my thigh. She's the worst. So Megan mcay's my friend.
I like her true story Fox Sports Sunday Cavino and

(01:37:58):
rich Emmy Awards, got college basketball, got baseball because some
big fights coming up NBA. Obviously. I saw the Chili
Peppers this week. I told you that I saw them
this this weekend. It was a surprise show in Los
Los Angeles for their new album, Unlimited Love. I like

(01:38:18):
the Chili Peppers. I don't like pop music that much.
I'm allowed to say that without you yelling at me.
You're the bully, you know, smack me because he's I
have an opinion. So I'm watching the Chili Peppers and
I mentioned it Chad Smith, the drummer who looks like
Will Farrell. Right, he's sixty. He's the oldest guy in

(01:38:41):
the band. John Forsant is back, he's the youngest. He's
fifty two. Legs. I love the Chili Peppers as well. Yeah,
but Ketis and Fleet are fifty nine. And I told
you in the beginning of the show, is blown away
at their energy level, just like I was amazed and
not wearing socks on their sagging junk now, but they were.
But they were they were one one song in one

(01:39:02):
song in shirts came off. I was like, Oh, it's
like a Chili Peppers Maile review or something. Shirts were off.
I was getting steamy, but I couldn't help but notice
that they're just still shredded. They got that rock stars
shredibility like iggy pop. Like how Lenny Lenny Kravitz has
a six pack and he's old guy. It's it's not
even fair. So not only do you have energy through

(01:39:24):
the roof, but they're still ripped and still doing it
at sixty the same way they did it when I
saw him, you know, when they were in the thirties, twenties.
So it dawn on me here they are this old
and they're still rocking out when an athletes career is
so limited, You've only given so much time to perform

(01:39:45):
at your peak and at your height. Yeah, the Chili
Peppers are gonna have another great album coming out. That
song Black Summer is awesome. And then when you think
of your childhood dreams, you see the argument you're the
childhood dream is always like I want to be a
rock star, or I want to play for the Yankees,
or I want to I want to play on these Steelers. Right,

(01:40:07):
every kid wants to either be an athlete or a
rock star at least one point in her life, or
magician or astronaut, whatever it is. But I'm posing the
question of rock star athlete. And when you went through
your answer when you wanted to be a David Copperfield,
the answer for me, as much as I still have
dreams and fantasies about rocking the pinch stripes and hitting

(01:40:28):
home runs in the big leagues, it's never gonna happen.
You're you're forty year old man. Now it's not gonna
I mean, I'm never gonna be a rock star either.
But the debate has been settled when I saw the
Chili Peppers this week, because here they are, all these
years later, the guys that were professional athletes when they started.
You know how they shout out the Lakers James Worthy
was playing when they were making socks. They're still making socks.

(01:40:50):
They're still doing it, you know what I mean. But
you're posing the question. I'm posing a question would you
rather be a rock star athlete? And I'm telling you
that the answer is is rock star? Well, because you
just have this longevity about you. If you're able to
create a legendary career like the red Hot Chili Pepper,
you want you want to know the real answer. You
can still perform at any age. You can't slam dunk,

(01:41:13):
you know, in your sixties. The real answer is, and
this is the truth, because anyone will tell you this,
Every rock star wishes they were an athlete, and every
athlete wishes they were respect It's like a grass is
greener thing. You ask every rock star, Danny g Boo.
You guys worked in the music biz and the sports
world as well. Every rock star somehow has a like

(01:41:36):
a a spot and then that's like, man, I wish
I was an athlete. Every athlete admires rock stars. It's
it's the it's a mutual admiration. But if you ask me,
you're talking about the exceptions. Chili Peppers. I was telling
off the year. I was saying, how I'm not a
fan even but I've seen Bruce Frankstein at sixty something
and the guy's CrowdSurf and climbed up. But even Color
Me band could still perform. But I think you know

(01:41:57):
what I mean. But even Snow could rock informer right
now at a festival, you know what I mean, Like,
there's no no professional athlete, what's he gonna doing an autograph?
Signing at his old age. These guys could still do
what they love, and that solidify this this lifelong child

(01:42:19):
debate of mind, this childhood fantasy of mind. This week,
but you know, it looks for me and a rock
star is much cooler then being a professional athlete because
it looks funny though when you're like sixty and you
dress like a rock star. Though yeah, you're like sort
of like a a c DC. I don't like the
way like you look all right, so you could look
a look Lionel Richie still looks good as hell. He's

(01:42:39):
like five years doing is You've just named like legends
like Hall of Fame. You don't have to be Chili
peppers if you're like a one hit wonder or like
tell me why the Baha Man? And who what the
dogs at around this one? They're probably performing somewhere at
a one hit Wonder festival. And and and ac DC
wears the schoolboy short Love and he's like what he's

(01:43:00):
a handsome man with athletics. It just doesn't sit right
with me. You don't like that. I don't know you.
You're an athlete, you make a ton of money real quick,
and you're okay, we're board dreaming about your glory days
and you're retired like an old man to the city
in which you dominated. Not a legend. Dude. Again. I
was talking to my dad, right, My dad's sixty eight, right,

(01:43:21):
I said, Man, I saw the Chili peppers. You should
see their energy levels, like you know why they love
what they do. I can't imagine my dad jumping around
like Anthony Keatis. My dad doesn't like what he does.
He's complains all day. These guys love what they do,
and that resonated with me. Let me take you through it.

(01:43:42):
I love sports. I love baseball, love football. Their career
is like a flash in the pan. Man put in
grant and then they just roll you out once a
year for old timers. Can you come out old Timers Day?
And everyone's look, how fatty got? Oh? Man? You know,
even if you're even if hit one, even if you're

(01:44:02):
a one hit wonder, give me give me a good one, spotty. Yeah,
give me anyone from the from the eighties or nineties,
you could still go out there and perform. People are like, wow, man,
that was cool. I still like that. But you watched
that Boys to Men documentary and how they went from

(01:44:24):
playing in front of fifty people to fifty people and
it's sad. I would I think that's like a sad
state of affairs. Still get a check though, that's right,
Still getting those royals. I don't know. I look at
me when you when you play professional sports, you're always
a legend. But it's like it's it's almost like your
glory days. I know, you know the Chili Peppers. They're

(01:44:45):
old and they're a crazy example because they're so popular.
Map it out, yeah, Matt map each one. They could
still do it now. I can say this is like
the artists in retrospect. Let's look at Charlie Wilson. Charlie
Wilson is now like blossomed and is like one of
the top R and B singers around a lot of

(01:45:06):
people don't know that he was one of the founding
members of the Gap Band. He's still getting residuals from
the Gap Band, which is still being played today, which
was like the group of the seventies. I get you,
they make money period. I still Smokey Robinson performing the
other day. He's a hundred years old. I'm still doing it.

(01:45:27):
I guess then you're saying you're saying. You're saying the
obvious answer is rock star, and you might have I
never saw it was an obvious answer until I saw.
I'm not gonna argue with you just for the sake
of arguing. I'm just trying to think of both angles.
Let's take to Danny g Let's take two legends. Right,
if you do you have anyone in mind, like like
the Chili Peppers, great example, or do you want to

(01:45:47):
be taken equally legendary athlete Michael Jordan's, sure, Michael Jordan's
Who do you rather be Michael Jordan's or let's say
Bruce Springs? Please? Can I explain it? I want to
I want to take your phone calls to eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. You can never take away Michael Jordan's greatness,
what he accomplished, right? Does he look happy? Now? You

(01:46:09):
know why he doesn't because he's not that guy anymore.
Nobody is. But a rock star could still get that fix,
still perform. They could still like entertain a crown where
Michael Jordan, you know, he's just he's sort of that
guy anymore. He lost his step. A few athletes have

(01:46:30):
done this, but at least it's a possibility. If you're
a star athlete, you can dabble in the music business. Okay, yeah,
But if you're you know, rock star like Bernie Williams
playing jazz musicale remember um of course, Kobe Shock and
others rapping Alan iverson. Yeah, the list goes on. Who

(01:46:52):
the former wide receiver of the Cowboys and Bills with
a rap album? Beasley? Yeah, you can't do that, though.
If you're a rock star, you can't go put on
a Bulls uniform. You know, I think I'm gonna agree
with Covino. I hate to do it, but I think
I think rock star you know why, You and Danny
g and you guys will just convince me because even

(01:47:14):
if you're a legendary athlete, Michael Jordan's is always gonna
be Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan's Tom Brady, these guys will
always be in the history books as the best and
always compared to themselves. But when they know that I'm
not in the shape I used to be, I can't
do well. I can't know whether here it is. I

(01:47:35):
can't do what people loved me for anymore. Where you
could go to Madison Square Garden and Billy Joel could
still sell it out and be like Bottle the Red
and he's not still He's not the Billy Joel he
once won. John could you know hit Elton, John Yo,
Young Due lipa young Charlie Pooth Young, you know Lil Nsac.

(01:47:58):
He could team up with any young artist and still
be relevant because he could still play the piano. The
point and the point in bringing this up riches. If
you would have asked me years ago, especially as a
little kid, the answer would have been professional athlete. As
I'm getting older and I'm seeing the longevity that somebody's
rock stars have, musicians have out there, teaters with the

(01:48:20):
middle aged man, Yeah, my perspective has changed and I
respect it in a different way. All Right, Let's say
what's up to Steve to Sager, see was trending, and
then we'll get to your phone calls. Tasty Hello. Number
one ranks, South Carolina has won the national title in
women's hoops, beating two seed Yukon fact. South Carolina led
thirteen to two early sixty four forty nine the final.
Connecticut had never lost an n c A title game.

(01:48:41):
It was eleven and oh in the finals until tonight.
Butler as new men's basketball coach Sad Moda X of
Ohio State. He's a former Butler player and coach. North
Carolina's Armando Baycott says he will play tomorrow night in
the men's title game against Kansas, despite his sprained ankle
last night. In the NBA's too late games, we have
to blow outs in l A halftime Clippers sixty six

(01:49:02):
forty four over New Orleans and its early third quarter
at Sacramento Golden State with Clay Thompson resting. Tonight is
still up sixty forty four over the Kings. San Antonio
sent Portland to a seventh straight lost one thirteen to
ninety two, Spurs two games up on the Lakers for
the final play in spot, and the NBA regular season
ends a week from tonight. Lakers lost their six in

(01:49:23):
a row today in l A to Denver one to
one eight team Dallas in Boston, with daytime wins road
victories for Detroit and New York. For Minnesota and Miami
the Heat one one four, one o nine at Toronto,
ending a Raptors five game winning streak, Miami's first in
the Eastern Conference. Two games over Boston, two and a
half up on Philadelphia and Milwaukee. Oklahoma City beat Phoenix

(01:49:46):
is Devin Booker and DeAndre and we're each out resting,
so Okay. C took it one seventeen to nineties six
in the NHL Minnesota five one winner at Washington, Minnesota's
one nine of ten White Sox Pitcher Lance Land will
miss about two months. He'll have knee surgery for a
torn tendon. The Padres acquired lefty picture Sean Maniah from
the A's The Phillies Aaron Nola today pitched five and

(01:50:08):
a third innings, one run, one hit, allowed nine strikeouts
in a spring training game. Philadelphia held on for a
nine eight win over Detroit. Bryce Harper hit two home runs,
and the Dodgers are playing at Anaheim right now. In
an exhibition Walker Bueller against Angels picture Noah synder Guard.
Synder Guard went five innings, one run, allowed seven strikeouts
for the Angels, show Hey Otani with a solo home run.

(01:50:31):
It is Halo's five one over l A in the
games right now. In the sixth inning of play the
bottom of the six Denny Hamlin took the NASCAR Race
at Richmond Kevin Harvick finished second j J Spawn when
the Texas opened his first p G A tour victory,
and it was in his one hundred forty seventh start
back to you. Thank you, Steve. You know how I know?

(01:50:51):
No one cares about the Anaheim Angels of California whatever
they called themselves these days, California Angels. Noah synder Guard
when he played for the Mets, even when he stunk,
like just his social media presence and he's four with
the blonde hair, it was like he was a presence.
Even even being in a city with the Yankees. I
have not heard one person mentioned to the Guarden out

(01:51:12):
here in Los Angeles? Have you? He looks weird in
the Angels uniform too, And they don't play in Los Angeles?
And where do they play? Down by Disney World. It
takes four hours to get there. It's the worst. So
we're Cavino and Rich again Fox Sports Sunday. But the
Grammys are also on, and I'm having the feeling that

(01:51:36):
I've always like shook my head at when my parents
would be watching Who's that? Because That's how I'm feeling
right about. Man. I'll be honest without without the little
lower third. But I don't No, I don't take predon either.
But there's been a few times where when the lower
third doesn't say name, I am like, who is that?
And you know what it is? A lot of times
there's no video. No one watches music videos, so you
probably know the songs. But for again, for credibility sake,

(01:51:58):
anyone here, boo, anybody you know who this is? Not
looking it up? I promise you. I was sitting here
wondering at but the dude is putting on a shot.
He's like doing some James Brown woves. Whoever this smooth dude,
shiny silver pants. And I work in you know, not
only sports. If I work in pop radio, we we're

(01:52:20):
music fans. But a lot of times now without music
videos and without with the MTV culture, you know his song,
but I don't know who this guy is. Like there
there are times where there's an artist where like right now,
I like, for instance, I love imagine Dragons. If you
put a random band member in a lineup, I wouldn't

(01:52:40):
be able to pick him out of lineup? Would you
be able to would you be able to be like, oh,
there's the twenty one pilot Skuy there's this guy, there's
a there's a few bands that you love, but you
wouldn't be able to pick him out of a lineup
because we don't live in that world anymore unless you're
following him them on social media. We don't admire them
the same way. We just like the music. Still they
figured out, No, I don't know, but we're Cavino and

(01:53:03):
Rich And the question I posed was a childhood question
that I got to the bottom of, would you rather
have been a rock star or an athlete? And I
simply chose athlete because I see the longevity and those
songs live on. They don't die. The artists get older,
but those songs are legendary and it can still perform them.
Maybe not to a crowd of fifty people anymore, but

(01:53:24):
they perform, and they live out their team much longer
than an athlete does. And they're still they're still able
to do the point I was trying to do. They're
still able to do what people love them for. What
do people love for the Michael Jordan for? They love
Michael Jordan's for his airness and guess his championship can't
do that and you could see he's he's like a
bitter guy because of it, I think so right, And

(01:53:45):
then I got the the analogia Gabe was, isn't there
It's such a it's such a New York example. But
Billy Joel could go on stage, yes at Madison Square
and everyone's like, yeah, there is Guess who's headlining. Guess
who's headlining Lollapaluza in Chicago this year it's in July.
Guess who's headlining with do Jaquet, machine Gun, Kelly J Cole,

(01:54:06):
Little Baby Kigo. By the way, I could, I could
recognize all of them by face. I just don't know
who was on TV. Who was it? By the way,
that was John Batiste. I'm not embarrassed not to know
that John Batiste, but you know, is he Tremy knows?

(01:54:26):
I don't know, but that dude was bringing the fire
at the Grammy Awards. So I posed the question, do
you know who's headlining Lollapalooza with Dualipa, j Cole, Doja, Cat,
machine Gun, Kelly, Kigo, Glass Animals. The answer is Metallica.
So think of how long they've been doing and Green
Day and Green Day both been doing it forever. And

(01:54:50):
by the way, John Batiste is the band leader for
Stephen Colbert. Colbert, that's it. Yeah, I knew he was
a band leader. Well, hey, we'll wrap up with your
phone calls, your feedback, and I'll read some social James
Hetfields fifty eight still headlining shows more rich next. Alright,

(01:55:10):

Sports Sunday continues. Congratulations to South Carolina and to Johnny Knoxville.
He did well in WrestleMania. Apparently he won a match
who popped out the ring the whole time was hilarious. Honestly,
w W E brought it this weekend. I hope you
enjoyed your WrestleMania. Again, Congrats to we Man and Johnny

(01:55:54):
Knoxville apparently just want to match, and South Carolina the
women's national che Ampiens. Let's go to the phones. The
question was if you could fulfill your childhood fantasies, make
all your wildest dreams come true? Would you rather be
a rock star or an athlete? Professional athlete? My whole
life it was always athlete. You thought about it. I

(01:56:17):
have to see in the Chili Peppers you change your
mind because they're still doing things, and like Derek Jeter's
not all right, Seattle and Zach you're on what's up? Buddy? Hey, guys,
has it going? What's up? Man? What do you think?
Rock star or athlete? You know? I here's the thing.
I grew up a huge Cub fan. I loved and
adored Chainberg. My dream was to be the starting first
base and for the Cubs that dream didn't hang out me.

(01:56:39):
But my thing is pro athlete or um rock star?
Because you guys brought up Michael Jordan. Sure he's worked billions.
That man could walk into any restaurant in Chicago when
a busy night and go, hey, can I get a table? Yeah?
You can get a table. Not only that, you're you're
from Chicago, right, you're from Chicago, ter do the same thing.

(01:57:00):
He's he's from Chicago. That's true, It's true. I mean
rock stars don't get any less amazing treatment, right, That's
what I'm thinking. So he's going professional athlete like legend.
We're talking legends here, though, you know we're talking what
do you think? It's the cooler life? All right, let's
go to who do we got next? I think you

(01:57:20):
think of any band that's from Chicago, they're probably living
a cooler life, no offense, and like Ryan Samberg right now,
or Andre Dawson, not r Kelly, not our Kelly Man,
Kurt in La Mesa, what's up? Kurt? Hey? Kurt Hey,
how are you doing? What's up? Man? What do you think?
Rock star or athlete? What's a better life? I got

(01:57:41):
the best in both worlds. It's called Garth Brooks playing
for the San Diego Padres. You know what you know?
It gets a little opportunity to take some his swings.
I saw the funniest it's so funny you say that, man,
I saw the funniest Garth Brooks meme today. I saw
a picture of young Garth Brooks right, and he's playing
in He's sitting on a fence playing a guitar and

(01:58:02):
acoustic guitar, but he's got on basketball sneakers and it
says when you have a rodeo at six, but you
have to dunk on someone at seven, When you have
to dunk on some foods at seven, John and Penn,
you're on with coming on rich, rock star or athlete.
I want to be a rock star in my name
would be Johnny rock rock rocks from want to say,

(01:58:25):
why don't they have Miley Cyrus even nominated for a
Grammy voted Billboards two thousand twenty one Female Rock Artist
of the Year. And this girl gets no respect and
she drips rock and roll. She's just hated and lambasted
by the industry. Miley Cyrus is a rebel. You don't

(01:58:47):
Miley said something, man, Miley said something. I thought she
was going to get more like flak would be the word. Yeah.
But to back him up, I like when she rocks out,
did you see what she said? She said she traveled
internationally touring and she's like, I caught COVID but it
was worth it. And I was like, oh, I thought
she was gonna get crap for that, but she did not.
She did not thank you for the call. John, So

(01:59:08):
rock star. It is rock star, it is man. I
think the dream changes when your perspective changes. As you
grow a little bit, you grow wiser. So Chili Peppers
were awesome this weekend. I hope you enjoyed it. You know,
I'll give a shout out to because he lost tonight
head coach Gino ori Emma, who used to work with

(01:59:28):
at S and Y in New York. You know Yukon
women's basketball. You know his winning percentage as a coach
sounds like absurd. I mean, I know Yukon women's basketball
has been known to just dominate. He is close to
a nine winning percentage, Like we're talking. A season where
they lose more than one or two games is considered
like an off year for him. Well again, congratulations to

(01:59:51):
South Carolina, and thank you guys for hanging out with us.
Cavino and Risk, Thank you Bobo, thank you Danny G.
Thank you Steve de Sager. Thank you guys for hanging again.
If you missed any of our show tonight, Fox Sports
Radio dot com, Fox Sports Radio dot Com and hit
us up at Covino and I'm gonna go get some tacos.
I'll tell you guys next week. Until then or river

(02:00:14):
A therety baby, see you would have promised. Goodbye,
