Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Let's go, let's do,
let's go. Birthday boy, Happy Birthday, Happy birthday daylight. But
that's fine. Um. Could I sent something to you yesterday though?
Did I not? No? You did not? I did too.
It was on your on your Facebook. Gosh, I'm just

(00:22):
now and I started catching up, which, by the way,
that's the best thing about birthdays if you have a
Facebook page, because you hear from a lot of people.
I've just started filtering through. I mean, you have my
good You could have texted me and said happy. I
know that, but I mean show together on Friday. Look
at you, Look at and think about this. Look what
since we've been partnered together for the last nine years.

(00:43):
Look what I've done to help your life. You've You've
gone from a nothing slub to a big time radio
TV star. Oklahoma kids, My goodness, what I've done for you.
Happy birthday. Well, I mean again, let's not get too
carried away here and making my birthday about you. But
welcome to the show. I was doing all that before

(01:06):
we started the show. But go on, hurt your elbow,
patting yourself. I will do that, my friend. I've been
very busy before the show, pull the curtain back. You know,
every time Danny g is on the show, something is
going wrong. So I have to get us all on
the air, press the right buttons, when right when something
goes wrong. Who do you think the bosses call? They
called me up. They go, spare your you idiot? What's

(01:28):
going wrong this time? And you know it's I just
have to deal with it, so I have to. You know,
Arnie calls the hot line here, let me pull the
curtain back. A text message. No, he does that too,
he sends before the show goes on the for reals,
it was an hour and ten minutes prior to your show,

(01:50):
and Arnie's just, oh my god, what's going on? You
are a annikey p to the max? What is wrong
with you? Well, because I have to do with this
every week. To who do you think they call? They
called me. They don't call you guys. They called me
and they go, you moron, you screwing everything up again.
I get all the heat, not you guys. They call

(02:11):
the guy who calls, tweets, text messages, Yeah, I'm sure.
Why Why do you feel like you need to carry
that burden? Arnie? I don't think you've ever been called
and yelled at for a technical issue, that's because they
don't know I work here. But when they find out I, actually,
here's how panicky Arnie is. I'm hooked up Don Brown
and are and it's fine. So in order to make

(02:31):
sure Arnie's okay, I get disconnected so they don't have
to deal with him. Because I'm a little bit more
laid back. We can work through it. From New York.
You're from Oklahoma. That's the differences. But that's what one
guy is tech savvy, the other guy is Arnie Spanning
d We're gonna be okay. It sounds like there's a
button stuck and literally Danny Pool two chords and we were.

(02:53):
You know, I want to take everybody through my old
neighborhood of the Bronx, New York and see how if
you're not panicky for the rest of your wife have
to going through there. But you went it up in Palisades.
You ended up at was my family was shooting in
some in some food, and up came oil and Beverly
Hillbillies reference. It's a really, really really no It's that's fine,

(03:15):
but it's just really old and it's I don't even
know if it's streamed anywhere else. I don't think anybody knows.
What the hell I'm talking to your pluto seating at food?
What does that have to do with Well, we got
a busy first hour. Nonetheless, we got a busy show tonight.
You know, we kind of started getting into our NBA
playoff groove, which means he's gonna dump all over it.
So if they're no, I mean I was all into
the one victory by the Bulls that had me riveted.

(03:36):
But again I mean by the Bucks. I'm sorry. Not
every game is going to be a classic. What about
what you're getting tonight? You like to heat over the Hawks?
That was talking about the Sun's Pelicans game. Okay, okay,
now that that's half time, give it another half. We'll
see what happens in the second half. So you're just
so we shouldn't even talk about the NBA playoffs, Then
why did you put it on your rundown sheet? If
all you're gonna do is dump all over it? And

(03:57):
that's why I put it down on the rundown That
am I wrong? Though? Tell me I'm wrong, Tell me
that I'm nuts. And the games have been good and
the games have been closed, and this has been a
good playoffs series, is the best you've seen in a while,
and you everything, Why does everything have to be the
best you've seen in a while. Why can't there be
some good games? And it's the first round of the
playoffs and this is usually what we get in the
first round of the playoffs. Why can't you say, huh,

(04:19):
I'm intrigued by this disaster that's become the Nets and
that's a good game the last two days in Brooklyn.
Why are we not intrigued by watching Joe Kich do
what he did today to save the season for the Nuggets.
Intrigued by how Miami has slowed down Trey Young. It's
incredible to watch and to see Jimmy Butler step up.
There's really cool storylines. But you're sitting here stuck in
this well. Didn't have a great finish this game, some

(04:40):
games going on. If it's a blowout, Arnie, you could
have turned the channel and watch another game of all
the stuff. Out of all the stuff you just mentioned,
that's not even the number one storyline. The number one
storylines a negative storyline about Ben Simmons. And you see
that the comments that Reggie Miller had to say, it's
about time somebody spoke up on him, and and and so,
what the hell is going on? Are you being series?
It's about time someone spoke up on Ben Simmons. We

(05:03):
get one tweet from Reggie Miller. People have been dumping
all over Ben Simmons all season long, and now Reggie
Miller's tweet is one They're like, oh, holy smokes, did
you see what it's been all over my timeline? And
I'm like, I'm like listening to radio and everyone all
over him for the better part of the entire season.
Why are we acting like Reggie Miller is suddenly the
guy that's broken the sound barrier with his take on

(05:26):
Ben Simmons. You didn't see that. Everybody's like, finally somebody's
speaking that that that this guy has been out he's
and how much did he make this your thirty eight
thirty three? I don't even know how much? Millions of dollars? Uh?
You knew he wasn't gonna play once they lost today, right,
you knew that he was gonna come up with some
excuse that that's it. I'm done with. By the way,
we're bad reporting on all the NBA insiders. Not once

(05:49):
did anybody mentioned that he was heard um when he
was sitting out for Philadelphia. I never got one. Well,
it doesn't really make much of a difference because he's
injured anyway. I never got any of those reports either. Well,
I I just it's funny because now you're it's it's
a storyline. It adds interest to the NBA playoffs right now,
and you're all angry about it, and that's part of
the fun of this time of year. I don't understand.

(06:11):
This is one of my biggest complaints about you in
as a face among many. But yes, but go ahead.
If it's not a buzzer beater and for an NBA
game like one fifty five three, you're not happy. I mean,
do even some sons quadruple over times something like that
or what or if there's not a fight that starts
and and it's that's why you know, it's funny you

(06:34):
bring that up. That's why I love the I loved
the NBA growing up in the eighties and the nineties.
I love the old Detroit bad boys. I love the physicality.
I just I mean, I I love the hate. Bill Ambier.
I'm totally into that I'm totally into the whole physicality,
and um, you're not getting that really anymore. Well, um,

(06:54):
do you want to take a moment and look at
some of the scores from the early rounds of the
nineteen eighties seven, like nineteen eighties seven, seventies six, stuff
like that? Right? Well that, I mean there were a
lot of blowouts you romanticize about him. Uh the one
eight matchup in Game one of the Eastern Conference playoffs
in was a one twelve nine to win by the

(07:17):
Celtics over the Knicks, and they wanted still the matchup
the Celtics in the Nicks, you know what I mean.
At least you got that going for you, but it's
still a bad game in your book. Why would that matter?
I mean, the Celtics and the Nets are playing right now,
and the Nets aren't the Knicks because the nick nick stink.
But the Nets at least have some players that we've
heard of, and yet you're not happy whenever that's even

(07:39):
a close game. I'm starting to think of just on
a little side note there, since where the Nets, I'm
starting to think that the days of winning championships for
Kyrie Kevin Durant Lebron Anthony Davis. Um, all those days
are over for those four or four guys. You know why?
Because why why? So you wouldn't take any of those

(07:59):
guys on your team tomorrow? You think any of those
four guys I just mentioned are gonna win a championship again? Yeah? Absolutely,
Well we know it's not gonna be going Bron and
Anthony Davis for right. No, I don't know that. Oh gosh,
take that out of the podcast, please, because it's it's
just this is gosh, this is just what pisces me
off about this whole medium anymore. You say something stupid,

(08:23):
don't tell Draymond on me, please. Well, I mean it's
just I mean, he's right, he's right. I mean, you're
the same guy that tried to say Tom Brady was
done for ten years and all of a sudden he
gets traded to the Buccaneers. You're Tom Brady is the
greatest thing ever. Now, I guarantee Lebron James and Anthony
Davis are never winning another Beta. Go ahead, I will
bet you more people believe I agree with me. Lebron. No,

(08:45):
that just goes to show you that you're in the
minority of thinking. Because Lebron and Anthony Davis, Kyrie and
and Kevin Durant. They're they're not taking Brook with any championship.
And if you had alone Winnigan championship those days, I mean,
Kevin Durant does not look like the Kevin Durant like
he did in Golden State. So you could have those
two teams. I'll take the rest of the NBA. I'll

(09:06):
do it. I'll take you over the next ten years.
Give me, give me it. Okay, fine, one down, nine
to go. I'll take a team with Durant or Lebron
on it to win a title in the next ten years.
You're down. You gotta quit if I'm right, because you'll
be like seventy anyway by the time. I've just never

(09:28):
understood this whole. It's the it's the NBA playoffs, man.
You get to these knee jerk reactions. Whenever a couple
of games go bad. You're like, oh gosh, these things
are unwatchable. They're just I can't even take it. Well,
then let's not talk about it. If they're unwatchable and
they're terrible. Every store, everything that you have on this
rundown sheet that you send me from your big yellow
notepad is NBA related outside. I just do that. I

(09:50):
just do that in case the bosses say, hey, what
have you written out for the show today? I've I've
got something to show them. But it's not like I'm
really gonna talk about it, right I kind of I'm
kind of starting to figure that out. I don't think
you care about anything that you put on that on
that list, but you know, it's funny. There's some three
oh series, there's some three one series. Right, this is
what it's supposed to be when you're one eight to seven.

(10:10):
These don't always in Now, if we get to the
Western Conference Finals and the Eastern Conference Finals and they're
still blowouts, all right, But I'm I mean, I gotta
be honest, I'm kind of intrigued by the next round
of the playoffs these if let's go ahead, and I'll
just jump on your bandwagon because i can't fight tonight.
It's my birthday and I'm not ready to die on
an NBA hill. But if you if you look at

(10:32):
the brackets for this year, and yes, because I'm a
college guy, everything has to be bracketed, so it makes
sense to me, so I know who's coming up next.
But you're you're not telling me you would at least
be intrigued by Golden State in in Memphis if MPs. Well,
I'm not intrigued because I think Golden State's gonna win
a But yes, I'm I'm interested in to see how
that goes. I think Golden State probably takes something about four.

(10:55):
About Milwaukee and Boston again, another good one. Yes, I
have said, you got me the I told you Boston
was seven played the best ball in the second half
of the season. It just took him a first half.
New coach. And by the way, isn't it funny how
they're a better team without Kyrie than they were with Kyrie.
Who with Boston? Oh no, yeah, I mean you're right,

(11:15):
it's just it's it's weird. And just think about Tamar
de Rosen too. I mean, here's a guy that when
he was in Toronto, you know, they didn't win it.
I mean, they won a championship when they got Quiet
and everything kind of click for him that year with
Nick Nurse, but it was all we don't really appreciate
Damar de Rosen And then he goes to San Antonio
and disappears for a couple of years now, all of
a sudden, he's a great fit in Chicago, right, Um,

(11:37):
it's you. There's examples of this all over the league,
and I don't I mean, listen, the promo has played
eight billion times this week and about where Colin talks
about these aren't good fits anymore. But you know, again,
I don't think it's gonna happen. But suddenly the Nets
maybe win two games, which isn't the most shocking thing
in the world to win back to back games. Who's
the pressure on? Then going into game six? It is

(11:58):
Kyrie terrible? Then is Durant know good? I mean, Kevin
Duran has not played well in the first two and
a half games of the of this series. I mean,
but back to the original point, he was it was
over ten in the second half of game game terrible, terrible. Um,
But you don't think you can get hot and suddenly
start rolling. No, I mean actually the answers no to

(12:18):
that one. You don't. It's already done with that. Even
Kyrie said that him not getting vaccinated paraphrasing here, um
had to do with their you know, cohesive this and
and really Joey together, no doubt, Hey, no fool in Sherlock,
you think, so, can you find the quote where he said,
me not getting vaccinated has hurt the team chemistry for me?
Just so I can hear from my own ears. You

(12:39):
didn't You didn't see that he said me not getting
vaccinated hurt team Chemistal Did I not get that right?
I just I hadn't heard that this week, and I
heard that him not being around. I don't think Kyrie
Irving has said anything about not Okay, I could be wrong.
I could look it up. Look it up. If he
got it, that's great, But it's just it seems as
if Kyrie wasn't Could you make it sound like he

(12:59):
it's some sort of anti VAXX take when that's never
been with Kyrie's whole thing has been about. Kyrie's whole
thing has been about I'm not gonna do what people
tell me to do, and it has been the whole process. Here,
Pete has the best um tweet of the night. I
hate that I'm a green what's thinking genius so much?
But Plank he is right. So I just wanted to
make sure we got that. You would You and Pete

(13:21):
can enjoy my n NFL draft breakdown later in the show.
Are you ready for that? I know you're pumped up
on four days away, you're pumped up, and so much
unknown about the NFL draft too, And I listen on
you and I had a chance to fill in for
Jason and Mike on Friday night, and I kept trying
to get to and trying to get to it. The
next thing, you know, the show went away. But we

(13:41):
got to get to some of these draft notes that
are coming up on Thursday, because I think there is
as much mystery around who's number one in the entire
first round as we have ever had, I mean ever.
And if you're in there and you're like Pete and
you're like Arnie and these NBA playoffs suck, I'll spend
the next two and a half hours trying to find
other more exciting things on TV for you. Oh let

(14:02):
me look here real quick, and let's see what's on ESPN.
We can talk hockey. I mean, the hockey rates of
the playoffs are pretty good right now, and we gotta
get to the worst fans of the Yankee fans are
being called the um worse fans in all of sports
out there, which probably is true about that, To be
honest with you, our worst fans in sports conversation as
hacky as it is, changes every single week and we'll

(14:23):
get next. Okay. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports
talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows

Thanks Danny g. Thanks Harny. It's my birthday? How old

(15:32):
the day? Wow? Wow? Reaching my midlife crisis here in
about two years MLC midlife crisis should be You got
it right, now I'm kind of excited about it. I'm
gonna get Are you gonna get a motorcycle and grow
a mustache and the ponytail and go to Vegas? What
are you gonna do for your midlife crisis? Um? I

(15:52):
was thinking about taking back up like maybe I don't know,
heroin or something. I'm just kidding. It's gonna do some smack.
See how that works, cocaine in the hell of a
dr No, I don't know. I haven't I haven't really
reached that. Maybe shave my head, you know, I don't know,
freak out about gray hairs or something. Start working out
like crazy, get all boff one of those two something.

(16:13):
How about come here and coach our Lakers? Dude? Is
there even a coaching search going on right now? What?
What is going on? There's like nothing front Yeah, sports
talk radio in l A. They've been throwing around the
name Mark Jackson as you probably saw one. Oh no,
I see, I saw Mark Jackson NonStop. I also don't

(16:34):
usually buy into the first name being a guy that's
going to get the job, And it seems like Mark
Jackson as a hell of an agent. But it's the
NBA coaching carousel it never makes any sense. Right. I
don't know how you feel, but I get the sense
that you know, Boston makes a nice higher this year. Right,
Boston brings in a guy that's that's been in the NBA.

(16:55):
That he's young, right, but he he's a dude that
everyone is familiar with in Adoka and has come up
through the NBA ranks. But night out of ten times
already it tires that make no sense. I mean, listen,
let's be honest. When Steve Kerr was hired by the

(17:16):
Golden State Warriors, it's not like he had this incredible
coaching resume. I apology. He didn't have a big rebuild either. Yeah,
he didn't have a big rebuild either. At the point, no,
he picked him up kind of right when they were
ready to take that shot. I mean, it's the only
place where he's been a head coach where was he
an executive and in Phoenix, and and that didn't necessarily

(17:37):
end so well. He stepped down and he was an
owner for a little bit like what like a percentage share,
and then when he's hired by the Warriors like oh okay,
and ended up you can say the same thing about
sure he was but he wasn't no name. He was
at least a coach. He had coached in different levels,
but he took over when they got Robinson and Tim.

(18:00):
It's like, you know, I'm gonna take over now. Now
that's a good time for me to see if I
can coach him and see if I can put a
good of course, your god, I can coach that team
with those guys. But I mean think about it, right,
if you just look back to I've got six hires
right here in front of me, right you. Um Udoka
is a long time NBA assistant, makes a lot of sense.

(18:21):
Jason Kid is a dude that hadn't coached in what
he was an assistant for the Lakers, but as far
as being a head coach, I mean he hadn't. He
hadn't been a head coach in like three or four years,
and it didn't end well. It didn't end well for
him in Brooklyn. It didn't end well for him, and
new in with the Bucks and suddenly he gets a job.

(18:41):
So I don't know what to make of the Lakers,
But like Rick Carlyle, Indiana, MA, the move to go
get him. Chauncey Billips is a guy that was on
ESPN and next thing, and I was like, oh, okay,
Johncey Phillips is a head coach. They never make any
sense and and the ones that work make even less sense.
How did that? How did Steve Kerr work in gold
State with Steph Curry and what was supposed to be

(19:02):
those bomb ankles? Yeah, get him over to the New
York Nick, So let's see how many championships he was
gonna win there compared the Golden State. That's why I
don't know if an NBA coach makes up. If you
look at Black they fired him after going to the championship, right,
So it doesn't really make it if it's what you do,
absolutely all right. So as we shift from these apparently

(19:24):
boring a f NBA playoffs, let's dive into one of
the greatest sports radio conversations, right, bad fans. And we've
had many examples of of ways we can complain about fans.
Right at the NBA has had some issues with Kyrie
versus Boston. There's been and I'm not I'm not putting
the Pea protesters in that list, right, that's not an

(19:46):
indication on Minnesota fans. Those are just did you see
how about that security last night. I'm about that security guard.
Thumbs up to that guy. If if I'm a famous person,
I'm hiring that guy. Prompto. You know, so you as
a long standing New York met fan, you might be
a little bit jaded here, but it's your opinion that
you would put, including what happened the other night, the

(20:09):
Yankees as one of the worst fan bases. Yeah. Yeah,
I have them right up there. I mean a lot
of people say, what about the Philadelphia fans? Is it
can we say New Yorkers in general or is it
Yankee fans. I think it's gotta be Yankee fans, and
then like Philadelphia Eagle fans, but maybe Philadelphia in general,
But yeah, Yankee fans. It is tough out there, Chris.

(20:32):
I remember going out there for a game with a
bunch of my buddies and we got seats in the
right field pavilion. We thought, you know, go for the
full experience. And we got there in like the second
or third inning and there were people in our seats
and I went up to the I think it was
a police officer, and I said, we got people in
our seats, and he looks at me because dude, he
go get the hell out of here. You think I'm

(20:52):
gonna have people move out of your seats in the
third and he goes, you know what, going to the
other pavilion. I don't even want to see you. I'm like,
whoa easy, their buddy, relaxed? Okay man, they're tough out here.
So yeah, they're they're bad as the Yankee fans. They're
they're crazy, don't doubt about it. So if you missed
it yesterday, here was our guy John Sterling. When everything's
got a little bit out of control between the Yankees

(21:14):
and the Guardians, the players are all coming off the field.
I don't blame the Indians that people have got to
stop throwing things, but didn't love field. They did it
in the right field, and the Yankees went out there
holding up their hands, holding up their arms and their
hands like stop stop. So the Yankees are just coming off.

(21:35):
You don't want to see that. That ruined a fabulous
Yankee comeback. So I guess maybe there's a part of
me that kind of wants to have the Yankees fans back,
because if all they were doing with Channing cry Baby,
they would be there. But they start throwing stuff. Yeah,
there the debris was going on, was it bottles and

(21:55):
trash and and you can't have something like that. Look
out for good ribbying what the other team have it? Um,
But you know there's that line and obviously they crossed that.
I mean, of course you crossed the word. You're throwing
stuff on into the field and stuff like that. It
was ridiculous. It was ridiculous. It was and you know,
it's kind of funny even it shows how dumb people are.

(22:16):
And I love all of you, but you're dumb because
if you got people on an airplane that are trying
to fight Mike Tyson, if you've got people that are
throwing stuff in the stands, you got Boston fans dropping bombs,
flipping off Kyrie. I mean, listen, thank how you want,
feel how you want. But I mean, Arnie's there's this
there's this line. We we continue to step on what

(22:36):
was the great line from a Chappelle show, a habitual
line stepping, and we're doing in this stands right now.
You know, maybe it's just police officers in New York again.
I remember I was in New York. We were coming
up to the toll and the Jets it just lovest
a wild card game. Gosh, I can't remember to the Patriots,
to be honest with you. Um, And there was a

(22:56):
long line to get through, and my buddy was just
drunk is a pig and he's screaming out the window,
Jed suck, Jed suck. And some guy got out of
his car and started punching him in the face. The
cops are pulled us over and and they said, well,
what was he saying? And the guy just sent it
straight out. He was yelling that the Jets suck. And

(23:18):
the police officer looked over it. My friend, he goes,
next time, you're not gonna say that right now, get
that out of here. Well, I'm like, that's what that's
all you're gonna do. He he gets the puncher in
the faith and say the Jed suck. I man, maybe
it's just the police people and officers in New York
that are tough. I don't know, or you're drunk ass, friend.
I mean, if you're asking to get punched in the face,
I don't think that's a very good example. Aren't. But

(23:41):
I will say this, there is a point where more
has to be done. And kudos to the Yankees who
have stepped up. They have a security guard now that's
gonna be stationed at the bottom of each aisle and
right field. I don't know how long that's gonna last. Hopefully,
hopefully fans kind of chill a little bit. But you
also that that's a fine line for fans. You want
to be crazy, you want to create a Rockets home

(24:03):
field environment, but you don't want to do it where
you're throwing stuff at people. And you know what, sometimes
seats are so expensive. Those aren't even the real true fans.
Could you imagine if there was the real true fans
out there? But um, you know, maybe the outfield bleachers
are not as expensive as I'm thinking. Alright, Arnie and
Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Hit us up on Twitter.
It's steaking genius one at Plank Show, and everybody should

(24:24):
follow with Fox Sports Radio because that's where all the
news breaks. And here to bring it to you are
man Steve to Seger with what's going on in the
world of sports. What's up Steve? Hello, gentlemen, and a
happy birthday to one of you, by the way, Thank you. Okay,
probably Artie from the University of Arizona. Let's go. I
can't wait for baseball, the college baseball playoffs, and you're

(24:47):
seeing DeAndre for the Wildcats tonight with the Phoenix Suns.
By the way, the worst fan base this part of
the world is the fans of Mexico's national soccer team.
It's really not even that close. Anything that happened at
Yankee Sta a M this weekend has already happened in
US Mexico games, including last summer in Denver. As for
the Phoenix Suns, they are the top overall seed for

(25:08):
the NBA Playoffs. Devin Booker, with the strain hamstring, could
miss a couple of weeks. Phoenix is losing late third
quarter at New Orleans seventy three sixty eight. DeAndre Aighton
does have seventeen points for the Suns, but Brandon Ingram
with twenty six for the Pelicans, trying to even up
this first round series at two games apiece. Denver is
still alive after defeating Golden State one twenty six to

(25:29):
one one even though Steph Curry had thirty three points
eight assists Clay Thompson thirty two points despite foul trouble,
Warriors lead the series three games to one. Top seed
in the East. Miami won easily in Atlanta tonight, one
ten to eighty six. Heat up three games to one.
Milwaukee leads three games to one after winning at Chicago
again one Janice Antenna compo thirty two points, seventeen rebounds.

(25:54):
Drew Holiday with twenty six points. Chris Middleton, with his
sprained mc L is out at least two weeks. Three
playoff games Tomorrow night nets Garred Ben Simmons will not
make his season debut on Monday due to a sore back. Man.
I couldn't see that one coming. Brooklyn down three games
to none, hosting Boston. Joel Embiid will need thumb surgery
for a torn ligament after the playoffs. Yesterday. He had

(26:17):
twenty one points five turnovers. Philly up three games to one,
now host Toronto tomorrow. Utah's at Dallas in the late
game on Monday. That series tied at two games apiece.
Luca don Sitch finally returned from his train calf yesterday
and scored thirty points. Ross Chastain was the NASCAR winner
at Talladega Austin. Dylan finished second on Fox TV. Next

(26:37):
Sunday's races on FS one from Dover. In the USFL,
New Orleans won thirty four three against Tampa Bay. There
will be two games on Fox TV this Saturday, including
New Orleans at Birmingham and tonight's ball game. Sunday Night
baseball had Milwaukee winning one nothing at Philadelphia on a
sacrifice fly on the top of the ninth by Christian

(26:58):
yell At She's betting one two. So the Milwaukee offense
was three for twenty eight and that was the winning side.
The Philly struck out sixteen times. They may have comments
from about the home plate umpire Hernandez, but who doesn't.
It wasn't that bad of a calm. Stop making a
big deal about that. I mean, it was like it
in stop it. Jeez, Well, it wasn't that. It was

(27:18):
the build up and as Kyle Schwarber yelled and screamed
and gesticulated both sides, both sides of the plate, both
teams all night saved to Josh Hayter. So Milwaukee now
ten and six, Dodgers and Giants each one, Colorado one again,
Yankees one, Tampa Bay with a victory, and the Mets six,

(27:39):
two winners in Arizona. The New York Mets are twelve
and five ladies and gentlemen, and the winning pitcher Tyler
McGill is now three and oh this season my guy
got his jersey who we'd never heard of until probably today.
Updating from New Orleans, brandon Ingram with thirty points. Pelicans
now leads seventy seventy four over the Sun's about a

(28:00):
minute left third Quarterback to you, thanks Steve. It's already
in Plank on Fox Sports Radio here on a Fox
Sports study. All right, Um, I want to get some
NBA draft talk, but I want to hit some of
these tweets. There's some good one like this from j Osborn.
Now right, Why has player retaliation against fans become more
of a thing recently? Players in the past seem to

(28:22):
have thicker skin and able to ignore them. Perhaps this
is a reflection of an overly sensitive and reactive society.
That is true, And how many times do you then
we make jokes about it, but people answering on a
fake burner account and um, you know, just because they

(28:43):
just can't take the criticism. Though I can't do it.
I've got the answer this guy or the just giving
him an answer one way or the other. I mean,
can you imagine twenty years ago, if if an athlete
didn't like what you said and getting a hold of
you or emailing you or or owing you up on
the phone and says I really didn't like what we'd
be going. We go, Oh my goodness, I can't believe

(29:04):
he called this. Nowadays, it's common place for an athlete
the contact Joe Schmo on Twitter and go back and
forth with the guys never seen before. It's amazing, you know.
It's also and I completely understand what UM Happy for
Life is saying, and there's a part of me that
doesn't disagree. But I mean, there is a point where

(29:26):
enough is enough, Right, there's a point where it's like, oh,
you're all soft. Well, go search a dude's mentions after
a bad game, go look at what some people say,
and it's just you reach a point to where it's like,
get a thicker skin. I feel like I have pretty
thick skin. But there's a point where it's like enough,
and I don't care if it's uh first name, bunch

(29:47):
of numbers after it and all their crappy takes. It's
like who are you like? Who are you like? For instance, UM,
who is the Oh yeah, Dave Wilson, Right, hey, Arny,
do your thing man. Your choice remarks is why I
love to listen to this Sunday night. Plank can mellow out,
for Christ's sakes. First of all, that's you're a jazz saxophonist.
You're the most chill person on the planet. Come sit

(30:09):
here for ten years and let's see how damn chill
you are. Right then you won't be so chill. But
I just, I mean, do you sit there and there's
a point where're like, all right, you can fire away
and say crappy things all you want. I'm just supposed
to take it. Not everyone's that good at it, and
everyone everyone buckles and fires back. But right now it's

(30:31):
all in your face. You do it too. When someone says,
oh I hey, you're like, wow, this seems like a
little bit much everyone, you know, and we just didn't
have social media. I remember I was in a son's
game and I was sitting courtside um with a buddy
of mine who done Sports Center, and I yelled at
Barkley played defense for once in your life, and he

(30:51):
told me to go blank myself. So I you know,
he just like Twitter, just like Twitter, just like Twitter,
you know what. But I mean, I just this is
funny because Roger fires in his skin. Albert Bell tried
to run down trigger Treaters with his SUV because they
wouldn't leave him alone. It's like Arnie that's in the

(31:13):
first Oh I missed the physical games. And I mean
I'm like, well, the final scores were lower scoring and
they were still blowouts in the playoffs. And people romanticize
this era because you'll see a clip and what was
the one making the rounds this week? Bill Lamber and
Charles Bark and then the Pistons versus Larry Bird. It's like, oh,
I miss that. Well, guess what. They had crappy games

(31:36):
during those playoffs series as well. You know what helped them.
Not every playoff game was on TV, so I mean,
you wouldn't get every single game, so I get. I
remember looking at the TV guide to see what was
coming up for the week, which games. That's That's how
much of an NBA fan I was just see what
games are coming up and if the Knicks were playing
on TV somehow, and when they played the Lakers, and um, yeah,

(31:59):
see what was going on. You didn't have any of
these superstations like you have now pat your boy rights.
The penalty for fans getting too rowdy just superglued them
to their seats. Well you remember it, so the I
don't know when it stopped, but the NFL used to
have a rule that if the crowd got too loud,
they would stop the game and tell you to get quiet.

(32:19):
Not thankfully they changed that because a loud crowd is
part of a home field environment. But maybe that is
the next step. When's the when's the last time they crowds?
By the way, I'm sorry, I don't mean to step
on you, but not the quiet crowds would just to say,
all right, we we we can catch a fan drop
a f bombs court side boom, that's a technical You
cost your team two free throws. I was just gonna ask,

(32:41):
when's the last time they called a technical file and
the fans and it cost the team, uh fifteen yard
penalty or too technical file or something like that didn't
In one of the conference basketball tournaments, one of the
bench guys ran out of the court to start celebrating
before the game was over and it cost his team
a game. Now, you're not having that was in the NFL.

(33:02):
That was in the NFL. Somebody was in the end
zone celebrating. Member that Yeah, that was there in the
Super Bowl. Okay, out of nowhere. Verdon Hargraves was in
the Super Bowl celebrate. He's like, the hell that guy.
I don't know if he was a player or what.
All right, let's go. But maybe that is the next night.
And I don't even know what the penalty would be
in baseball, I mean what they usually whenever you have

(33:23):
these situations, they just they wait till everyone calms down
and cooler heads prevail. But I mean, there's a lot
of people that are actually with you on the Yankees U. C.
L A. Dodger Frank Rights. It's safe to say most
Yankee fans are fans of Daniel Jones from the New
York Giants, since they both have the same throwing accuracy.

(33:44):
I'm telling you, it's a tough crowd to go down there,
It really is. You know. To me, it's I'd go
to Madison Square Garden, uh City Field, you know, old
Chase Stadium, Um Yankee stad him, I've done that. I'm
I'm staying away from there, all right. Hey, when we
come back, we got more of your tweets at Stinking
Genius One at Plank Show, and of course everybody should
go follow us at Fox Sports Radio. I feel like

(34:05):
we had we did this show like two weeks ago, right,
didn't we have this show whenever Kyrie last Sunday Night
when Kyrie flipped off the fans? Did we did we
do the show last week? Now we got Yankee fans
throwing stuff on the field. It's so expensive to go
to games. Why would you risk getting kicked out? All
these fight videos you see it's like, oh, they're fighting
the stands and regularly like, why would you risk getting

(34:28):
thrown out? Well, you seep to go to games. No,
these protesters are not paying for their tickets anyway, There's
somebody well, I mean the brawls that you see, aren't
you're seeing the stands. That's what confuses me. All right,
when we come back, we'll wrap up our one with
some more of your tweets. Keep you updated on that
big NBA playoff game tonight between the Suns and the Pelicans.
Phoenix looking to put New Orleans on skates, but Pelicans

(34:51):
leaded by seven with eleven minutes to go in the game.
Will keep you updated next on Fox Sports Radio Danzig.
Let's go John Brown, Johnny and Plank. By the way,
do you remember the last time we were talking about
Chris Paul. What did I say I would do to him?

(35:12):
I don't know what, fight him? No, come on, I
said I would press him, you know, try to you know,
every time up the court, make it tough on him.
They just pressed him and they got him on a
ten second violation. Oh yeah, I just saw it. I mean,
I was just talking about that. What Friday. Do you
think they heard you? I am pretty sure they did.
They're like, listen, man, we were listening to this Arnie
Spaniard and he said maybe we should start pressing in

(35:35):
the NBA and it would be an issue. But you
don't see that. You don't see you don't see much
press in the NBA. By the way, they got got
away with a foul in the backcourt too. I'm not
gonna try to get too carried away here. I'm all
about New Orleans pushing Phoenix to the brink because suddenly
Phoenix Suns fans have become, I don't know, as as

(35:55):
obnoxious at times. His Oklahoma City thunder fan was a
couple of years. You don't have to live in Arnie,
although I will say, I will say I did kind
of get a kick out of it. I thought this
was a really interesting point because if you think about
obviously Kevin Durant, you think about James Harden, think about
Russell Westbrook. There was a time where we thought they

(36:18):
were gonna win quite a few championships together. Right whenever
they their second third year together, they went to the
NBA Finals, right, I mean that's when they were in
Oklaoma City. That's pretty damn in present uh, sooner born
three rights can't tell who he might be a fan of.
I'm of the opinion more and more than when all
is said and done, the okay, see three are cursed.

(36:40):
It's all sad to me what might have been. They
were supposed to be truly great, gonna be an awesome
thirty for thirty sooner than later. Well, Durant did win
two rings, so I think it's kind of tough to
say that he's curse. Now we can talk about the
how he's viewed historically in his career, and I don't
know if he'll he'll ever. I don't know if the
best way to put it, Arnie is is get over

(37:02):
with with most of people in the media because of
leaving Okay see for Golden State. But I'll tell you what, um,
this is quite an indictment and his on his legacy
with the way things have gone in these playoffs. I
don't I don't like legacy talked. But it's a big story. No,
it's supposed he didn't go to Golden State then a
guy with no championships. If he had picked a different
David tried to build them up from the from the beginning. Yeah,

(37:25):
I just you know, it's funny. There's what might have
been right and you think about in what might have
been Zarnie, the greatest one might have been. As if
Penny and Magic I'm sorry, Penny and or Shock could
have stayed together in Orlando. For those of us in
the in the South, with with Oklahoma City and being
a relatively young franchise, if Durant and Russell, Westbrook and

(37:49):
Harden could have worked together, there's a chance they might
have won some titles. But it's it's fascinating to see
how things worked out pretty well for Shack once he
left Penny and where out so well for Penny when
he left, things worked out pretty well for Kevin Ryant.
Whenever he left Russell Westbrook won an m v P.
But how's his career viewed right now? You know, over

(38:10):
the last few years how I mean, listen to the
seventy sixers are winning games, But how are we viewing
James Harden party right right? Well? First, well, just one
thing on Westbrook. And you know I've said this before.
I think that we are way too hard on Westbrook.
If you want to blame him for stuff this year
a little bit um. You know, of course I'm behind that,
but to all of a sudden, um, just like DoD

(38:31):
play his career and and to just say that this
guy's a bomb, and um, I mean, it's just too
much to take it, really is. I Mean, there's pretty
have blame the go along around with the Los Angeles Lakers,
Westbrook a little bit of the blade, but those those
problems even before he got there, and you know that
I want to dig into, Oh, absolutely, Anthony Davis can't

(38:51):
stay healthy. I want to dig in at some point,
maybe for a summer's show, to just find out where
things went wrong for guys, right, I mean, Steve Francis
is one of my favorites, and they just all their
one day, one day was gone. It's like, where did
see Francisco? Um, you know you mean mcgrade. He's a
Hall of Famer, but there was even a point in
his career. I don't know if it's your pointed injuries.

(39:13):
I don't know if you just pointed at people catching
up with your game. And because Russell Westbrook is, you're right.
Unfortunately that same way for fans of Russ because now
with what happens this year, it's like, oh man, he's
just a me first guy, selfish dude. He's imploded the
Lakers when you started like, well, Lakers have some problems
before he got there too. Issue. You can probably say

(39:33):
that a lot about baseball players. To also one year
wonders um never to be heard from again, just like
whatever happened to that guy had one good year and
nowhere to be found now. Good tweet Suonerboard Pete Rites.
I believe that the Yankees actually enjoy when the fans
become public enemy number one. That last time the Yankees

(39:54):
made their runs in the playoffs, they were the most
hated team, and I think they're trying to go back
to that. Yeah, but you gotta be good to you
know have that too, you kid, just have obnoxious fans
and not be good you You know, that's actually a
really good take. If you suck as a team and

(40:15):
your fans are just obnoxious, you can just turn around
and when they're yelling at you, just point to the score.
But it's like, shut up the score of the game,
right now, go back to your whatever. But I can
I can understand that though, to where they think, whenever whatever,
we're in a situation that things aren't going well, let's
let's bring the anger. But okay, I don't mind fans

(40:36):
at one point weren't held in high regard after they
were winning all the time. You know that well, And
then again there is that great debate then is that
a difference between a spoiled fan base and a bad
fan right? And then I don't think we had many
instances where they were throwing things on the court and
interrupting games. But but with it said, it's a debate
Yankees fans worse fans in sports. We'll dive into it

(40:58):
more in depth next hour. Ply us, we're heading to Vegas.
It's Arnie in Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Will this
Arnie get you excited? About the playoffs, a one seed
in trouble. Um, absolutely, it will. My goodness, man, they're
getting them too. Hand it to them right now. It's on.

(41:19):
But there's gonna be two games a piece. We'll see
what happens, especially with Booker be nowt that's great. I've
I've got to be honest with you. I am, um,
I'm I'm I'm digging Herbert Jones. I haven't watched a
lot of him. I haven't watched a lot of the
Pelicans this year. You know, we get obviously a cover

(41:41):
the Oklahoma City Thunder because I live in Oklahoma, so
we get Thunder games and we get Mavericks games. We
don't get a lot of Pelicans games. So I haven't
had a chance to watch a lot of him. But man,
he is he's all that. Um, I didn't know much
about him, but man, I'm i'm I didn't know much
about him once he got to the NBA after his
career almost what he he played three years at at

(42:05):
Alabama and he's one of those dudes and went from
being the Defensive Player of the Year and the SEC
All Defensive Team and it's translated into the NBA. A
second round pick that's shutting down Chris Paul. Right, now,
let's go. And by the way, don't don't think that's
not another prediction. I'm gonna get right, and that's gonna
be a big prediction. You you you left me down when

(42:26):
I said Zion will be a Laker. Um that that's
gonna come true. I can see that happening also. Now
in other words, they say, well, what again, what are
they going to trade for him? Yeah, that's the way. Problem.
I don't have that answer. It's problem. It's funny. Everyone's like,
trade Russell Westbrook. It's like, Okay, what do you expect
to get in return for him? I don't care. And
then all of a sudden, already when they trade Russell

(42:47):
Westbrook and you second round pick, it's like, oh my gosh,
we only got a second round pick for us. It's
like NBA is kind of wonky whenever you get to
trying to trade those huge contracts. But I don't know
if the Pelicans can pun on Zion yet. Aren't even
if they win this series? Well, I don't think they
could do it the next year. You're right about that.

(43:07):
Who was it? Who was the reporter? Uh? The NBA
insider that was ripping Golden State for taking who was
it Jordan Pool in the draft and said that I
was a waste of a pick and it was just
horrible at all. That well, I probably could have been
in that mix too whenever it came to it. But
he's looking good, right, I like how I like it

(43:29):
was funny because Bernie frattoh had reached out to me
last week because I think someone had had tweeted into
the show and said, Bernie Fratto said last night that
he thinks Jordan Pool is on on on pace to
be better than Kevin Durant. Bernie, hold up, I didn't
quite say that, but I mean they've already elevated him

(43:50):
to be the third Splash brother in some people's eyes.
I was reading his Sports Illustrated article about it, and
he looks pretty smooth, man. I I don't mind him
at and well that that changes by the way, that's
changed the dynamic, and you may think I'm kidding of
the whole NBA where you no longer need a big three,
you need a big two, and that third guy to

(44:11):
be somebody like him who has the potential um and
you just have to bring him along and give him
a chance. You don't need that third guy, that big three,
it's a it could be a big two and somebody
like that. Well, I mean, yeah, it's it's kind of
been the case for a while now. We fell in
love with the big threes. Milwaukee even has a big three.

(44:31):
But you say that, you say you don't think I
mean Drew Holiday, Chris Middleton and in the honest yeah, yeah,
but they're big three. Yeah they want a title. Yeah
no they did. But I don't know if I considered
like a big three like you've had with like Lebron
and Anthony Davis and you know, and you know you

(44:53):
gave me too, okay, West, I was just gonna say,
because the Lakers didn't really have a big three when
they won the Bubble title. That was two guys and
and and a defensive stoppers. So I don't know, man,
I just I do. I know this isn't a sexy
take as we roll on here on a Sunday night
on Fox Sports Radio. But I don't think there's a
magical one size fits all. I think to say, oh, well,

(45:17):
this formula is what works well, it worked this year,
you know, the year before it didn't work, or the
year after it didn't work. Well, you need the Big Three. Well,
if you have Lebron, you you can put two guys
around them and they might be superstars. So I'm not
trying to s on your take on you and I
don't disagree, but it's just everyone's like, oh, everyone has

(45:40):
this less snead f them picks mindset. Well, that's an
NFL kind of mindset, do they Because Aaron Donald was
drafted by the Rams, and the Super Bowl MVP was
drafted by the Rams, and you know ogron Quo was
drafted by the Rams, and they're often so I just
I think sometimes we lose sight of team building is

(46:00):
unique for each team. Is it a copycat league in
the NBA, Major League Baseball in the NFL. Absolutely, But
I don't know if there's like one magical kind of
fits all mindset in order to make sure you have
a championship caliber team. No, I agree with you. One
size does not fit all, especially in the NBA, where
if you're in a city where you're not like a
free agent destination, then you're gonna have to figure out

(46:22):
a different way to go ahead and build up your team.
No offense, but it isn't like, you know, the Big Three,
you're going, let's all go to Oklahoma City, you know,
or you know something like that. Um, or let's all
go up to Portland's or or wherever, Sacramento or wherever.
It's just not gonna work that way. So you have
to figure out a way to rebuild, unlike what the
Lakers or maybe the Celtics or the Sixers or or

(46:46):
teams like that have to do. Which is which is
why to me, Arnie, it's so wild to think that
Philadelphia tank for so long because and I get it,
you yeah, yeah, the process, but it's just to kind
of look back on you like Philadelphia, you know, even
the Lakers going through their kind of mini tank that
they went through. You're like, you're the You're the Lakers.
Your free agent destination now got a little different for

(47:08):
the Lakers because of the whole Dwight Howard and then
what you look back in, LaMarcus Aldridge kind of spurned them.
Um but I just I just it's wild to me
to think of some big city, big market teams that
have tank. You're seeing the Houston having to do it.
Why isn't Houston a destination? Houston's a cool city traffic.

(47:28):
But it's the reality of all right, So let me
hit some of your tweets. They've been great tonight. It's
stinking genius one. That's Arnie's Twitter handle. I'm at Plank Show,
Dragon Slayer forty six. Right. I can't believe I just
said that on the air. But it's beautiful. Uh, he writes,
you can't call penalties against fans, players, coaches, and gamblers

(47:49):
would freak. Now again, you don't see it often. I'm
not somebody that's gonna start falling in to this. Well.
Now that gambling is so omnipresent, you might have situations
where that amps up the desire to try to change
the result of a game by the fans. But to me,

(48:11):
you get the mix of maybe someone that's either celebrating
a win or mad about a loss. Arnie a little
bit more booze involved in it. Yeah, you're gonna have
I think even more of these type situations. Right. But
he's right, He's right. I don't know if you can
get into a position of starting to call penalties on
fans if you did, wouldn't you if somebody ran onto
the field and not a fift eight yard batalty or

(48:33):
if somebody read onto the court is not a technical
foul at the very least. And we've seen that a
lot recently in the NBA, but we don't call that now.
We don't say, okay that that you know, we can't
blame the home team or something like that. Most of
the time with people running on the field in NFL games,
it's some drunk idiot, that's right. But they can still
be a fan of the home team though, Chris, you know,

(48:53):
in other words, you say, someone getting on the field
or on the court, isn't ititment against your security? So
it's a U problem. So if someone gets on the
field or gets on the court, that's a fifteen yard
penalty or a technical foul that or if you start
having things rained down, we get it, we understand it.

(49:13):
It's hard to control. But that's a U problem because
you're in charge of security. Something like that. Well, yeah,
I mean, I mean you have to go way back.
Wasn't it back in the eighties when was it the
White Sox had Disco night and people started throwing the
records on the field and they just said, you know what,
gave over that's a forfeit and the other team gets
to win because you guys are such knuckleheads and stuff

(49:34):
like that. By the way, that is funny. You go
all the way back to disco night. Yeah, I can't
remember the last time day to stop the game for
for the fans. And that's it. It's a forefeit. You
guys suck and that's a And sometimes it's been like
bad promotional nights what they gave away baseballs and they
started throwing them on the field or bad. I remember
when you go to the games and you just think
they headed you the baseball bat or the minuture bat.

(49:56):
You just take it to your zee. That's not a
good idea to have. They got the way out now anymore.
It's like, hey, here's your cupeon. You can get your
gift on the way. You know, back then, you they
gave you the bat, you took it to your seat
and with your beer, and people were yelling at Jeer
with the baseball bat. Um, let's see here, bake rights.

(50:17):
I don't think this Yankee fan only ranks in the
top percent, Tyle. I've always been confused by that. If
you're in like the top nine, tile is that good
or bad? He's saying that's maybe at least for him,
he's not as bad as say, maybe some of the
other fans are. Is that what you're saying there, Bake,
I guess maybe. I don't know. It's it's it's pretty rough. Yeah,

(50:40):
you know, he can't put all the fans in there,
but um, it does get I mean I used to
go to Cowboy games. Um, they could be pretty obnoxious
at times also, but now it's so expensive to go
to those games. They don't get the true fans, you
know what it's it's it's funny because I think, more
than anything else, the frustration around fan action and fan

(51:04):
activity is something that you're seeing home team and when
I say home teams, that's just kind of a generic
way to put it. But you're seeing basically the the
home squad that is getting frustrated because they want to
make game experience is something that you want to come
back to because oh gosh, hold on, I don't want
to go on a rant here or anything, but it's
and already when was the last time you went to

(51:25):
a professional sporting event or a college Wow? Well, yeah,
it's been a little while since I've been up here
in Vermont. It's been a while but I go to college.
I go to Vermont games out there. There you go
and Danny wins. The last time you went to like
a Dodgers game or Lakers, I went to the Dodgers
home opener. There you go, and don you' are you
kind of in that same boat too? Where? Because there's
a lot of sports going on in l A, so
you can always find something to do, right, I would

(51:46):
assume yes, maybe yeah, he gave thumbs up. Okay, silent
don Um teams, marketing people, administrators, in college owners, in
in in pro sports. They are fighting a battle versus
your living room. They have got the Royal Bay. Have

(52:08):
got to continue to fight and scratch and claw to
make an experience at a baseball, football, basketball game worth
it because it's inexpensive. But Chris, but Chris, you you
just had your spring game. You at the Captain in
sixty thou you guys will always sell out your home
games on college football Saturday. That there's no what fans

(52:30):
are but about it. No TV is gonna keep people
at home? You think, Am I wrong? I think that
you can't have that mindset. If you go in with
that mindset, you're gonna end up with a game where
you're like, we didn't sell out. Why what happened? Arnie?
What you're playing some the sisters of the poor. Yes,

(52:52):
you play a lot of them in college sports. Yes,
Oklahoma has to fight the battle. Alabama has to fight
the battle. Georgia has to fight the battle, Arnie. Every
single program has to fight the battle. Every single NFL
team has to fight the battle. To say, when you
come to my game, I know you spent eighty bucks

(53:12):
on your ticket and probably fifty bucks to park, but
by god, it's worth it. And some idiot cussing around
you some more on throwing stuff on the field. Dude,
it's fighting. I mean, Danny, it's gonna make you not
want to go back or take your kids. And that's
what's at the court. Yes, and to your point, And
I got to talk about this when we were filling
in on the Dan Patrick Show this past Wednesday morning. Uh,

(53:35):
the price to take a family of four to Dodger
Stadium right now. Now understand, the ticket price fluctuates depending
on who they're playing against, but the food and drink
and parking that doesn't change. So a family in form
and I'm gonna tell you what the total was because
you would drop dead. But I'll just ask you this
all right quick over under game for the both of you.
We got two Taketo plates. They had um cassadillas underneath

(53:58):
the five Taketo's and two cokes. What do you think
that was at Dodger Stadium? All right? Boy? Do we
have I wish we had that? The music? Oh my gosh,
I bet it's like fifty you're both way under it was.
Do you know what it is to get a beer
at a game anymore? Yeah? No, And if you get

(54:21):
an I p A or a tall beer, it's the
fancy beer. You have, the fancy bear it is you.
You got two Taketo's and to plates. The plates were
each Oh look at that. Look at Joe of course.
Then come on, now there's tricks. This is what Arnie
would do. Probably you can walk in with like a

(54:43):
clear bag the size of a sheet of paper and
bring your own food in. Or you can walk in
with like a boxed pizza. So you could bring food in,
but who wants to bring a soggy you know, sandwich
in at the gates there while you're waiting to get in.
It's just to Chris's point, it's real. I it. Maybe

(55:05):
I love the Dodgers and I'll still give them my money.
I felt like I helped pay for Freddie Freeman's contract
after that experience, because for a family of four, it
was almost nine hundred dollars after the tickets, you know.
And there was some restaurants when I went to college
in Tucson, um that back to the eighties and a
little but they would let you. They would let you

(55:26):
bring your own beer and you would just give it
to them and they would serve you the beer that
you brought it you would enough to pay for it.
How did that bar make any money? It was it
was like a restaurant, you know, Mexican restaurant, and there's
no ways still in business. And they were great food,
and well that's what you're competing against. I can't imagine
spending all that money and then starting a fight there

(55:48):
in my room, you know. And and I'm I'm again.
I come from a maybe a place a little bit
of luck where I don't have to always pay for
tickets to games. Not not many people the media do, right,
but we there's certain events that we pay for tickets
because I want to take my girls and I don't
want to go to somebody, Hey, can I have six tickets?
I don't want to take my son, and literally you're

(56:10):
getting deep into your pockets on anything. Now. I know
some of y'all's reaction is stop being poors. It's part
of it. I'm not disagreeing. I'm not disagreeing. My point
is when you see these incidents where it's a quick
mention on all this fan base sucks, tell me who's
the worst fan base? Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox We we say that, and we do that. Meanwhile,
there's got to be people in that Yankees front office

(56:32):
and that Yankees marketing department and the Yankees ticket sales place.
You're like, oh man, great, now, we gotta deal with
having to make sure our ticket holders aren't worried about
getting hit by something being thrown or it's it causes
problems everything. Well, not everyone's throwing something there. You're talking
about people that are around them. You ruin the experience

(56:54):
for other people by being an a hole. All right,
we I listen. I can talk about this all night long,
and I won't. When we come back here on Fox
Sports Radio, let's head to Vegas, home of the greatest
fans in America, Todd Firm and is next on Fox
Sports Radio. Arni and Plank on Fox Sports Radio on

(57:17):
a Sunday night into a Monday morning. Your tweets at
Stinking genius sway, it's very good at Plank show. Uh
and of course everybody should be following us at Fox
Sports Radio. Is that Todd ready to roll well? Todd
Firm in action? Yes, no, get him? Okay. A good

(57:37):
tweet here from David Rights this gut seat and resilient,
resilient Pelicans team hand hammer the heavily favorite Sons like
they were aren't attempting to play with real ballers. Wow,
I got a game Tuesday night, so you know you
can tune in online. I'll make sure I put it
to my Twitter account or something. So do you do

(57:58):
you have to do any prov do you go work out,
you work on your shot, or do you just just
go play basketball? I just show up. I love By
the way, this is a great story that's going on
right now with the New Orleans Pelicans because I guess
they didn't even register with me. They were three and

(58:18):
sixteen on the season, three and sixteen to start the year,
and they put themselves in this position. I gotta tell
you something, man C. J. McCollum. Whenever he was dealt,
I laughed. I was like, in the world with the
Pelicans do that, It's like you're you're you're you're taking.
You're not in a position where you're gonna be any good.
I don't I don't know if I thought taking, but

(58:39):
you're not very good. You're not gonna catch the Lakers
and make the playoffs. Now they're sitting it to a
piece with the one scene Arney, and they've got all
the momentum right now, and allegedly their best guy is
as it played all year. So we'll see how that
plays out. I still think something's gonna happen there. A
matter of fact, we got a tweet. You have to
read the tweet on that later on to one eighteen
one oh three Pelicans get to win. We'll hit twitter

(59:01):
here in a bid. Right now, we're joined BYRONMN Todd Furman, Vegas.
Baby Todd, thanks for coming on with us on Friday night.
What's U what's kind of being your vibe around the
Pelicans and what they've been able to do. That's a
pretty incredible story. I think It's a team that earned
their way into the playing game, took full advantage of it,
and when you look at their roster from top to bottom,
they have the ability to score as well as most

(59:23):
teams in the Western Conference not named the Golden State Warriors.
And this Phoenix team is rather pedestrian, all things being equal.
When you take Devin Booker out of the equation, you
force everybody else out of their comfort zone and have
to turn them into a lite level scorer. So I
think we're in for the long haul here. The Pelicans
showed their metal, outscoring the Phoenix Uns by seventeen points
to night in the second half. Now, for big time

(59:44):
gambles like me Todd that still think that maybe you
can get the Pelicans in a good price, What can
I get the Pelicans to win this series? Now, you're
you're not going to find the same prices that you
would have found before things started. And obviously, with Devin
Booker being ruled out, when you look at the way
these numb as will open up, the Suns will still
be in that prohibitive favorite territory and that minus two
fifty three dollar range or should be close to it,

(01:00:06):
So you'll be able to find a little bit of
value here, and I'm very curious to see where oddsmakers
will ultimately open Game five knowing that Phoenix has done
what they needed to, they still have home court advantage
working in their favor, and you have to imagine it'll
be a pretty electric environment in the Valley for Game five.
We're hanging out with a great Todd Ferman. You can
follow him on Twitter at Todd Ferman and of course
the Bet the Board podcast, which is a fantastic way

(01:00:30):
to understand the gambling site. Okay, so we're having this
debate about Bat fans and the Yankees thing. I don't
think we could ever end up in a situation where
they start penalizing teams for their fans, right, I mean,
we're never going to get to that point, are we.
You know, I'm a Yankee fan and I was disgusted
by that display there. I mean, you go and it's
not a right, it's a privilege to go to a

(01:00:51):
professional sporting event. And while I know a cost of
tickets have escalated and fans feel some level of entitlement,
you still have to go and act like a normal
human way. You're in these kind of situations, and I
think as things continue to escalate and players health and
safety is potentially jeopardized, the leagues are gonna have to
take a long look in the mirror and look to
do things to penalize teams. Whether it's out, whether it's

(01:01:12):
draft picks, whether it's fine. I'm not sure what the
best solution is. And obviously we've seen in college sports
that it hasn't been in deterrent for storming the field,
whether it be in college football or college basketball. But
in some way, shape or form, I think as players
are have more interactions that potentially can go toxic, all
you're doing is flirting with disaster for what the next
step becomes. Yeah, but you can't penalize the home team.

(01:01:35):
I I brought this up to Chris. I can't remember
the last time a team fifteen yards on the home
team because somebody stepped on the field or all these protesters,
Why is that not a technical foul? Then? As you yeah,
I mean I think the protesting thing is a little
bit different. I think that's obviously a little bit more
you know, concerted effort of sorts, whereas what you saw

(01:01:55):
unfold and Yankee Stadium with players fans, excuse me, fans
launching projectile so much so that Aaron Judge and Gene
Carlos Stanton have to go out there to get the
fans to calm down. You know, something has to be done,
and are we going to continue to go? It's just
fans being fans. But if a battery gets launched and
a player ends up with an injury, then we're talking
about a situation that's a lot more dangerous. And you'd

(01:02:16):
like to have access to players. You'd like to think
that people going to games can be responsible, but as
we know the amount of alcohol that people take consume,
your judgment continues to get impaired. Uh and gradually, one
beer to ten beers, your decision making goes south in
a real hurry. All right, So Todd, with that in mind,
one of my favorite events is coming up this week,

(01:02:36):
the NFL Draft on Thursday. I feel like I ask
you this every single year, but do you see good
value in in in really getting involved in some of
the player props? All right, I'm sorry, the positional props.
Whenever it comes to where guys go, you know, there's
a little bit of opportunity. I think some teams that
you have a better read on you can take advantage,
and obviously you have to be diligent about your reading

(01:02:58):
not be swayed by some of the mocked your ass.
As we know, this is the time of year where
there's a ton of misinformation that gets circulated, so teams
can throw a smoke screen or two and not let
anybody become the wiser in terms of what direction they
want to go with their draft pick. But oftentimes, the
one thing about the draft you have to be able
to slot at least a couple of picks, you know
where some of those dominoes will go. And for a
draft like this where we don't even have strong convictions

(01:03:20):
that Aidan Hutchinson will definitely be the number one pick
in the draft, it's very difficult to ascertain what teams
like the Houston Texans would do or how the Giants
will approach pick number five versus number seven, because, for example,
if you believe the Giants are hell bent on taking
Sauce Gardener, his over understits at five and a half
and the Giants may wait till pick seven rather than
drafting him at five. Not worried about Carolina, who took J. C.

(01:03:43):
Horn in the top ten last year, drafting an elite
cover corner. I was just about to ask you, there's
gotta be odds on who the number one pick overall
is going to be. Right, there's three or four guys
who are being thrown out there. You can maybe get
a couple of log shots and maybe hit that thing.
You know, Yeah there is And let me tell you,
I mean the Aida Hutchinson number. There's been money that's
coming on his draft position over under one and a
half that people were taking the field that prices around

(01:04:06):
plus two forty plus two fifty. That price has come
crashing down about six eight weeks ago. You could have
had Travon Walker, who has been all the rage out
of Georgia, to be the number one pick in the draft.
So I think even within the Jaguars organization that you
would think that they have an idea of who they're
going to take at this point. But I know that
coach GM and you know the front office, we're not

(01:04:27):
all on the same page as recently as five to
six days ago. M M. It's fun, all right, Todd?
What's uh how we look in Vegas hockey wise? In
a must win game tonight? Right? Let's go get hole
holding on to a perilous two goal lead with under
three minutes to go at this point. And the one
thing for the Golden Knights, they've been rather outspoken. They
at least control their own destiny. It won't be an

(01:04:48):
easy road to get there, and clearly they'll set up
a massive game Tuesday night in Dallas if they're able
to hold on against the Sharks tonight. Wow, you know
I'm coming out now in June, Todd, so set up
that five dollar blackjack table. You're all that. I got
one setup for you off the strip, Arnie at three
bucks of popping. I figure you'll go belly up in
about thirty minutes of sitting in that seat. We're on
the strip with my friend. We're going on the strip.

(01:05:10):
We're big time. So Casino Royale has your name written
all over it along with one dollar make a low
cultures for you, my friend. Let's go. Let's go, Tod.
I know you're busy, but we appreciate your time. Go
follow him on Twitter at Todd Freman and we'll catch
up with you again soon man. Thanks always the pleasure, gents,
and looking forward to seeing what the aftermath of the
draft looks like when we chat next Sunday. So let's

(01:05:32):
get to that coming up next because I've got some
draft notes, I've got some draft nuggets here I need
to get to. I mean, there's a lot, there's a
lot that's going on, but it seems very quiet. Why
is this your time of year? Because we don't know anybody.
I'm trying to explain. Next I'll get into it, but
first here Steve di Seger. With everything going on in
the world of sports, including everything in sports, almost final

(01:05:53):
little hockey going on, and it's not a two goal
lead anymore. Vegas for three over the Shirts with two
minutes to go. A Vegas loss in regulation would clinch
a playoff berth for l A. It's not looking like
that's gonna happen. Minnesota went and overtime Toronto wanting to
shoot out Tampa Bay eight four winners at Florida Hockey's
regular season ends next Friday night for most teams. We

(01:06:14):
had four NBA playoff games on the Sunday schedule, and
the late game at New Orleans went to the Pelicans
beating number one Phoenix one eighteen one oh three. Playing
games included, it has been superb watching New Orleans home games.
That crowd, that atmosphere has been great, and this guarantees
another game in New Orleans in this series. Yeah, they'll
be in Phoenix Tuesday night, but Game six is at

(01:06:36):
New Orleans on Thursday. This first round series tied at
two games apiece right now. Brandon Ingram at thirty points tonight,
Jonas Vallon shots twenty six points, fifteen rebounds, Chris Paul
had eleven assists but just four points in the loss,
and the Suns are missing Devin Booker with the strain
hamstring could miss a couple of weeks. Denver is still alive,
down three games to one now after the home win

(01:06:58):
today against Golden State one six one Nicola Yokich with
thirty seven points. He had six assists, seven turnovers, but
the Nuggets shot fifty six percent from the floor. No
team in the league's history has ever blown a three
oh series lead to lose that series, and Golden State
will be at home Wednesday in game five. As for
the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee and easy winner at Chicago today

(01:07:20):
to go up three games to one one. Janisan Tenakum
both thirty two points, seventeen rebounds and Miami the top
seed in the East, up three games to one after
an easy win at Atlanta tonight one ten to eighty six.
They held your Tree Young to nine points, five assists
and five turnovers. Atlanta center Clint Capella did return from

(01:07:41):
the hyper extended knee, had seven rebounds. Game five is
Tuesday in Miami and the Heat can clinch the series,
then three more NBA playoff games Tomorrow night. Ross Chastain
was the NASCAR winner at Talladega. Austin Dillon finished second
on Fox TV, but next Sunday's race at Dover is
on FS one. The NFL Draft starts this Thursday night

(01:08:02):
in Las Vegas, with full coverage here on Fox Sports Radio.
In the USFL, today New Orleans wont three against Tampa Bay.
There will be two games on Fox TV this Saturday,
including New Orleans at Birmingham. The crowd team the crowds
turn out for the Birmingham game, of course, if you're unaware,
As we keep saying, it's a ten week regular season
and all the regular season games are played in Birmingham.

(01:08:25):
The USFL playoff games will be in can Ohio. General
mission tickets to Birmingham. By the way, ten bucks, and
did you notice yesterday's game? Philadelphia beat Pittsburgh thirty to
twenty three. In the fourth quarter, the Philadelphia Stars took
the lead on a touchdown and a three point conversion
one play from the ten yard line a completed past.
The extra points in the USFL, you got the usual

(01:08:46):
one for the kick snap the ball from the fifteen
yard line. You could go for two a play from
the two yard line, or you could get three points
for a play from the ten yard line. The Sunday
Night ball game went to Milwaukee one nothing to win
at phil Adelphia. Milwaukee Brewers are ten and six. They
want on to sacrifice fly in the top of the
ninth inning. Update on hockey, forty seconds left, Golden Nights

(01:09:10):
holding on four three over San Jose with the net empty.
Back to you, thanks Steve, Steve the Seger. Great updates.
And I oh, they're they're partying in, said Villanova in
New Orleans. C J's dancing, Brandon Ingram's doing live interviews.
They win it. I thought there was a couple more
games they had. The good thing after a three and
sixteen start. This is kind of the equivalent of okay,

(01:09:35):
you can of just have a moment here, Phoenix Suns fans,
and listen, I know y'all invented basketball apparently based on
my Twitter timeline. Um, outside of my that's not a
shot at my man Calvert. I love Calverts so much,
but um, the Pelicans are a team that's ten games
under five dred I don't care that Devin Booker is out.

(01:09:57):
I understand it sucks. He's a very good player. But
you're right, sixty four wins for this Son's team was
not an accident. They were head, head and shoulders above
any other team in the league. I mean, listen, I
understand DeAndre eight and may have come from a school
that's not known for its education, but still, I mean,
you still have DeAndre eight. You still have who I
think is one of the most underappreciated players in the NBA,

(01:10:20):
and Michael Bridges. You still have Chris Paul, who every
time he does something good, I hear point God, point God.
And when he sucks quiet. But tonight Chris Paul had
no points in the last forty two minutes. He was horrible.
Rookies on defense for New Orleans, including against Chris Paul.

(01:10:40):
Sensational guys that's the problem with the NBA. Now, um,
if you're a team that actually tries to win regular
season games, you're you know, your stats are kind of misleading.
Is there's so many people, so many teams like the Lakers,
Um that just said that we don't care about and here,
Well that's true. Brooklyn also is almost not here. Yeah,

(01:11:01):
I mean they That's why there's teams that are piling
up good winds kind of like fools gold. You know,
they get there and they're like, well, you're everybody as
good as the sixty four wins because, um, you know,
the other teams really didn't try in the regular season.
By the way, as we roll on here on Fox
Sports Radio, it's Arnie and playing. I did want to
give a quick shot. I retweeted it on my Twitter

(01:11:23):
feed at Chris on Sports send it to both you
and I. A picture from nineteen seventy nine of bat
night in Seattle. Go look at it. Everyone is holding
up full size wooden bats. I'm getting nervous. I see it.
I thought that was a cartoon. It's real life. Oh

(01:11:46):
my goodness. Could you imagine Yankee Stadium playing let's say
the Red Sox and everybody Yankee stadiums got a full
size bat in their head now. I remember growing up,
it got to the point where it when it was
bat night and still had them, they would give you
like a ticket on the way in. You'd have to
go to a local sporting goods store to pick up

(01:12:06):
your bat. But they were bats. These were full size
bats decades ago, well even like twenty years ago at
Dodger Stadium they had ball night and it was literally
a forfeited game when the Dodger fans threw them all
on the field protesting calls. However, you could take those
bats and you use them for yourself. You'd like them
so much, sus there were regular bats, Yeah, they're regular bats.

(01:12:31):
By the way, Vegas is going over time the Sharks
have scored at the buzzer or it's not over yet. Wow,
do the King's clinch? No, it would have had to
be a Vegas loss in regulation. A little too much hockey.
They're little too much hockey. It does answer the question

(01:12:52):
posed earlier, though, Go ahead, because you know, in the
screwy point system of the NHL, Vegas actually for blowing
this lead, they'll still get a point. They at least
take it to overtime. Uh yeah, because they're trying to
chase down. If I understand this, I'm gonna have to
go against that, be going against the NHL. But okay,

(01:13:14):
they still get a point for for pushing his bad
boy to overtime. But yeah, the wonky point system and
you watch Kings what would it be Kings Oilers in
the first round. I was almost clinched tonight. By the way,
this is this is not even a hockey discussion at
this point. The wonky point systems, as you referred to this,
This gives people the impression if they actually look at

(01:13:35):
something in print about the NHL, that there are a
lot of winning teams, or the teams have good records
because an American mind, you see, oh Vancouver is thirty
eight and thirty plus eleven what ties? No, No, that's
eleven more losses. They just happen to lose those in overtime.
This is a losing team that's fighting for a playoffs,
but very frustrating. All right, um, listen, when we come back,

(01:13:58):
the saga has gotten more. I've got draft talk and
I want to remind you Thursday's draft night. Be sure
not to miss Fox Sports Radio's Draft coverage through the

in plank Fox Sports Radio. Steven Sager rolls in to

(01:15:30):
help us wrap up our number two. What's going on, Steve? Well,
it's still tied, of course in overtime in Vegas going on.
Aside from that, By the way, Arnie, it is official
that the Kings would have clinched a first round playoff
matchup with Edmonton only if the Sharks had one in regulation.
They didn't get too late in regulation to tie. But

(01:15:51):
as you know, Vegas gets a point for actually, right,
so that means I'll they'll have what ninety points? The
Kings are still six points? Actually told me there's a
uh tie that they beat out the Kings, but they
still have three games left. Is that? What you're talking about, Vegas,
whether they lose or not tonight, is getting a point
out of this game, right, Yeah, So that's that. I like,
Cornie wants to fight with you over hockey. Whenever he

(01:16:12):
tells us we talked too much. He just left. He's
a New Yorker. He just likes to fight. As for
the you know, I was thinking again of the it's
kind of a cheat that the NHL on paper puts
down with its standings, making people think by separating losses
from overtime losses. Maybe people thinking you have a winning record,

(01:16:32):
wh actually you don't at all have a winning record.
What if baseball they separated your extra inning losses from
your other losses? They soh you know, this Milwaukee Brewers
team is really kill a well, actually if you throw
in all the extra ending losses, which are after all losses.
But of course they're not doing that. A wait a minute, well,
well again I'm gonna call BS on you. Um, in

(01:16:55):
the Eastern Conference, every team is going in the playoffs,
has a hundred points or more? Are that I don't
know if that's ever happened before. No, No, I'm not
talking about the leaders. I'm just saying in the standings
in general, you see a team that's like, oh, Columbus
is a five hundred club. No, No, they have lost
seven overtime games. Also, they're nowhere near that type of thing.

(01:17:15):
We can update Roki Sasaki, who you asked, this is
three straight Sunday nights. This complete phenomen picture in Japan
is in the news. Remember it was a couple of
weekends ago that he threw the first perfect game in
Japanese pro baseball and almost thirty years and struck out
nineteen in the game. And then last weekend start eight

(01:17:36):
perfect innings and they pulled him in a zero zero
game and the reliever gave up a tenthenning homer and
they lost one nothing. And then his start this weekend
was late last night our time, and he gave up
a leadoff single on the first pitch of the game.
So that ended a streak of retiring fifty two batters
in a row. He wound up going five innings in

(01:17:57):
this weekend start, gave up six hits, hit a cup
all the batters um there were also three walks in there,
but five innings, and got credit for the win. According
to people who know more than I, this guy who
in this start this weekend averaged over ninety nine on
his fastball at age Uh, he's not coming over to
major League baseball anytime soon. They say for starters, if

(01:18:19):
you come over over this young, you know you're not
gonna make that much money. I think Shootani is example
a in that the guy had almost a unicorn of
a season last year and one m v P and
was making three million dollars, not thirty three million dollars
for the Angels. He's a salary is up to about
five mill this year for the Angels, So he's just

(01:18:40):
killing it according to other baseball people anyway. So it'll
be at least apparently till after age twenty five or
later that they say this kid is going to come
over here and get posted and bid on. But usually
you put in nine years in Japan and then come
over like each year. Oor people like that. There is
a great column in The Athletic from Jason Stark, who's
been a baseball writer for many years recent weeks. I'm

(01:19:02):
sorry I haven't brought this up before, about what's going
to be happening in the minor leagues this year. The
experiments that the major leagues are going to take a
good look out of how they actually work in real
baseball games with pitch clocks or robot umpires are limiting
the defensive shift. One of the things is making second
base slightly larger, so your foot actually will get to
second base a little sooner as you slide and microscopically, so,

(01:19:26):
but the other thing is actually moving second base in
a little bit, maybe even by a foot. Now my
first reaction was are you kidding? What what are they doing?
But then he showed the actual diagram of MLB's Official
Rule Book of Baseball, and it should be brought in

(01:19:47):
because you'd think that if you went, like from the
back of first base down to second a straight line,
it would go to the back of second base. No,
it goes to the middle of second base. So if
you nudge second base in, then it's a straight line
from the back of first to the back of seconds.
So they're thinking that, oh, maybe more stolen base attempts, more,
maybe going first to third as a runner, maybe a

(01:20:07):
little take away the take away the in the neighborhood
play to write well, video has clearly taken that away,
and that's been, you know, a good thing. It's really
pasive play that needs to get work done, not necessarily
the total time of games, just putting the ball in
play more. And they're thinking, maybe if you screw around

(01:20:27):
with not letting the defensive shifts be what they will.
You remember what defenses were or even offenses when Michael
Jordan played in the NBA, it's Jordan's on one side
of the court, and then eight people on the other
side of the court. And then the NBA's finally said, no,
this is not basketball. We're gonna and essentially do what
baseball is thinking of doing and saying you have to
have a certain number of people on one half of

(01:20:49):
the baseball field. Whatever puts the ball in play and
gets things moving along. Fine, I say start with a
one one count like my softball league, but that's never
gonna happen barely softball rules and baseball you start with
a one one got all right? Final hour coming up next,
We've got all kinds of NFL draft talk, plus Artis
picks right here on Fox Sports Radio. Here we go,

(01:21:15):
Let's final hour. Let's do it? Um, so much like
Loose ends to tie up for the first two hours
of this show. Um, I want to go back to
our number one and we were talking about a lot
of NFL draft talk. I'm gonna unload my my notepad
that I have here coming up at I almost gave

(01:21:37):
a time que on National Radio at fifteen past the
hour here. You know what's so funny about that last
couple of years, how much were we into the draft,
you just couldn't contain yourself, and rightfully, so um compared
to this year, it's it's like night and day. I
don't know how to describe it, but you're right, you're right,
You're right. I don't know if it's because you know

(01:21:59):
a lot times like I have two draft shows that
I do and then I have a lot. I have
a local show where we talk a lot of draft,
but my local show, I'm living Norman, Oklahoma's very Sooner centric.
There's there's not an Oklahoma Sooner that's gonna go in
the first round. In fact, Arnie, I don't know if
there's a Big twelve player that's gonna go in the
first round unless someone decides to draft a Breefe Hall

(01:22:20):
out of Iowa State or perry On win Free out
of Oklahoma in the first round. So that's part of it.
I tend to buy into your theory, my our theory.
We have a joint theory on this that it's the
lack of skill players maybe going in the top ten
and the fact that you know, again, wide receivers are
a big deal this offseason, but quarterbacks seem to kind

(01:22:42):
of steer the boat NFL draftwise, and we might not
have a quarterback go in the top ten, we might
not have a quarterback on the top fifteen. When when
you're getting like two offensive ironmen out of the top
three picks and uh and and you're saying, okay, you know,
because those are those are not sixty picks. They're not
the ones who gonna say, Okay, that's gonna make us
turn the corner. We're gonna go ahead and go to

(01:23:02):
the super Bowl. Now you need that quarterback, the big
time running back, not even a wide receiver. Um. You
know last year we thought was gonna make a you
know that big of a difference noise wise. But you're right, yeah,
these names are non sexy, no way, no how. I
see a lot of people trying to project Malick Willis
um high in the first round. And I love Malik Willis,

(01:23:23):
but I don't think he's going high in the first round.
In fact, let me unload one quick note before I
go back to the first hour, since you brought it up,
I think that there is one quarterback that I feel
like I can guarantee you will go in the first
round and one and that's that's Kenny Pickett out of
out of Pittsburgh. And I don't think if I was

(01:23:44):
a quarterback needy team, I think I would look at
as I try to bring Baker in for a year
and see how that works instead of spending a top ten,
top fifteen pick on one of these quarterbacks. Or I mean, look,
Washington went out and brought and what Marcus Mariota, who's
been in mothballs the last two years and his shady

(01:24:04):
Shawn will tell you he can't stay healthy. Look, I
mean that's he was supposed to play a bigger role
with the Raiders. He got hurt on his first carry
of the year. So again, I don't know, Arnie, if
this is the year where I'm gonna break the bank
to get a quarterback. Now, if you're Pittsburgh and you're
drafting around what fifteen, sixteen, seventeen in that area, okay, maybe.

(01:24:28):
But if I'm sitting in the top ten and I
need and by the way, twenty is where the Steelers
pick in the first round, and I need a quarterback,
I don't think I'm not risking getting that quarterback in
the top ten this year. I'm just not so I
feel like I can guarantee you one quarterback. That's Kenny Pickett.
And I think and I think the second quarterback to

(01:24:49):
go will be Malik Willis. But I don't know if
it's gonna be in the first round. I'm not even
sure if Picket's gonna be the first quarterback ticket. I've
seen a couple of drives now um saying it's gonna
be Willis. So I'm starting to and doubt that. I'm
I'm so confused. But I thought for sure neither one
of them are gonna be taken to the top ten.
Now maybe they'll be to take it a like number six.
It all depends on I don't think this. I don't

(01:25:09):
think the Panthers are drafting a quarterback at six. Well,
Seattle couldn't. What number five? I don't think Seattle's gonna
draft a quarterback at five. Well, then they're not gonna
be taken then earlier. This is me and and and
by the way, comprehensive research talking to the people I
know that cover those teams are you know, the handful
of folks that I interact with. But I just I
get this sense. And Peter King's mock drafts gonna drop

(01:25:32):
in about thirty minutes from now. I just don't think
you're gonna see anyone go crazy over quarterbacks. I just
don't and I and I'll tell you what I think.
It might be a surprise as to like which team
goes quarterback in the first round. I'll tell you one
guarantee that I feel like making. I was talking to
our buddy for the weekends, Chris Profette, about this. I
do think the Lions could end up getting a quarterback

(01:25:54):
at thirty two with their second first round pick. If
Malik Willison's up there A lot of people really high
on Desmond Ritter, maybe the kid out of Cincinnati. And
I know, Arnie, that's a man major school. So I
don't know how you feel about Cincinnati or Liberty for
that matter. But that's two things. I think pick it's
gonna be the first quarterback off the board, and I
think the Lions are gonna go quarterback at thirty two.

(01:26:16):
Those are the only things I feel like I can
kind of guarantee right now. I'm wondering if the Jets,
you know, if if some of those teams that have
two picks in the first ten are gonna hold on
to it and just start piling up and because that's
gonna cost a lot of money for non skill positions
where you're paying them first round premium. So I'm not
sure you're gonna want to hold onto both of those picks,

(01:26:36):
you know what I mean? Who would you move up
in this draft to get Well, I don't want to
move up. Maybe I want to trade it for other
draft uh later on later years, So then you're counting
on a team moving up, is my point? Right? And
if people, I mean I've seen like five or six
notes where teams in the top five, For instance, the
Jaguars who all the top overall pick. The general manager

(01:26:58):
Trent Balki came out and said, oh are the top Valkye,
Trip and Bulky, Our first pick is is up for sale.
If you are, It's it's all about we'll be willing
to listen to offers. Their phone didn't ring. No one
call because there's really in less two guys that I
think could start maybe generating some conversations. If one of
the tackles starts to fall, maybe you see a team

(01:27:20):
that needs to move up or Arnie, I think there's
gonna be a wild run on receivers in this draft.
I think that's starting at about number eight or nine
in the draft, you're gonna start seeing the receivers come
off the board. And then if like a Green Bay
which doesn't usually draft cord wide receivers in the first round,
if Green Bay gets a little worried, maybe they decide

(01:27:40):
they need to move up and get someone. If Gosh,
I mean the Patriots or the Cardinals or the Cowboys
decide they need a receiver. I think those are teams
who suddenly you could say, all right, they might move
up a little bit, But I just I mean, who
are you moving up for? Unless a cable s you're
right if it starts. If it starts an early run
on wide receivers may panic a little bit and say,

(01:28:01):
I better jump up and get get one of those guys. Well,
it is a good wide receiver depth, but you may
want to jump up to get the one that you want.
Um obviously you can help your team so that that
might make a forced trade up to two positions that
I think you could end up seeing someone go on
the move forward. One is wide receiver, but it's also
a very deep wide receiver draft, and first wild round

(01:28:23):
wide receivers for the majority of the percentage haven't been
as good near the top of the draft as the
guys who have gone later. You feel like you can
find values in the Michael Pittman's and the Justin Jeffersons
who went a little bit later in the draft, not
the guys that were the first or second receivers taken. Secondly, Arnie,
where it's not deep is tackle. There is not a
lot of really good tackles in this draft beyond those

(01:28:46):
who are talked about in the first and early second round.
So if you see that run on tackles, then I
think you're gonna because there's three of them that are
likely going to go in the first round. And then
there's a fourth from my alma mater, baby Tyler Smith
out of the University of Tulsa, who could end up
going in the first round. Daniel Jeremiah has been all
over him. But again, it's what am I talking about here?

(01:29:08):
Offensive alignment? Do we get juiced about talk outside? The
fans don't even get juiced about that at all. They
wanna they want to hear the you know, they want
the meat and potatoes that they want the good stuff.
You know, all right? Well, then then real quick, since
we're on this it's already Plank on file the way,
it's one of those titles. The other one of the
kid from Northern Iowa. Is that are you talking about? Yeah? Yeah,
he's really good. He's he's he's really impressive. And I

(01:29:31):
think listen to your your first when you're in a
three person debate about who's gonna end up being the
first tackle off the board, that's that kind of shows
you maybe about just how split a lot of people
are about this class right now. And that's that's where
we are. Is it is it Evan Neil, the kid

(01:29:51):
out of Alabama who I still think could end up
going number one? Uh? Is it like Kim Kwanu I
think I've been saying, is Aim wrong the North Carolina
State kid? Or is it Charles Cross out of Mississippi State.
A lot of people feel like Charles Cross is the
best offensive tackle. The dudes you're talking about is Trevor Pinning.

(01:30:11):
So there's four offensive tackles who I think are gonna
end up potentially going in the top ten because Arnie,
as it stands right now, those are the only four
lock fire first round tackles that we're looking at right now.
With my Tulsa boy potentially getting in the mix. And
again it's not a sexy conversation. No, it isn't. That's
why you first of all, I don't think it's gonna
suffer in the ratings too. Maybe you're right, there's not

(01:30:33):
gonna be a lot of trade ups unless you're gonna
be practical. And you know, some coaches are very practical,
and you know, find a lot of value in those positions,
and they made trade up for one of those. That's
still possible. Here's here's two other things. Well, I'll go
ahead and empty the notepad now and then we'll we'll
we'll dive into tying up our loosens a little bit
later on, because as we hear, whenever a NASCAR spot

(01:30:53):
er sees his guy in a wreck and you're on
a restrictor plate track, what does this spotter say? We're
in this, so Arnie, just like a big rack in
Talladega or in this right now, as far as draft
talk is concerned, two guys that are going to go
higher than most people are projecting them. One of them
is Dax Hill. Now I know your automatic responses, plank.
He's a Tulsa guy, So of course you're gonna say that.

(01:31:15):
I think everyone talks about Kyle Hamilton's out of Notre Dame, Arnie,
He's a safety out of Notre Dame. I'm gonna tell
you right now, I think there's a chance Dax Hill
goes just as high as Kyle Hamilton's and there's the fight,
right you take. Safety in the top ten is at
a position of need. But I think in the new
era NFL and the need to to coverage, coverage linebackers

(01:31:35):
and big, strong safeties, I think Dax Hill is in
that group. I love this safety class. It's not deep,
but it's got two rock stars. Dax Hill is gonna
go higher, and Arnie. I love Devon Lloyd out of Utah.
Devin Lloyd out of Utah is interesting because he was
everyone was in love with him early and then he
didn't test all that well and now he started to

(01:31:57):
fall a bit. I'm telling you that Steve Smith is
in Utah. They're doing a feature on him, and you're
gonna love that. Well. You you saw him whenever he's
in Utah playing in Arizona. I think he's got the
potential to be a big time backer, kind of like
in a Luke Keiklem that kind of guy. I think
in the NFL, where do you having being taken in
your mind. I've looked up a couple of mock drafts
and I think he's dropping like a like a brick. Yeah,

(01:32:18):
it's great. It's it's funny because Cliff Farrell was like
that with the Raiders, and Clif Farrell is gonna go
twenty or are in the bottom of the first round,
he ended up going like fourth overall. I think that
there is um. I think he's gonna go on the
top fifth team. I really do. And I know I
see him around. Um. I see him around you know,
the lower edge of the draft. But I just I

(01:32:40):
could see him as a good fit in Pittsburgh. I
don't see him that high. But that's I was like,
I'm maybe looking up something wrong. I don't see him
as high as the top fifty. I'm higher on Derek
stink Well. Again, you're you're looking at a mock draft,
and for the most part, what we've been told a
lot is what the mock drafts are way off. Here's
another guy. Look at any mock draft. Where's Jordan Davis going? Right? Now?

(01:33:01):
Are the mock draft you have up, Where do they
have Jordan Davis going? I mean, there's so many rounds
in here. You got stuck in one of those seven
round mock drafts. You can't. Jordan Davis is going to
go significantly higher than most mock drafts that you see.
Jordan Davis is a guy that is a game plan wrecord,

(01:33:22):
Georgia kid beast. He was fourth on my Heisman ballot.
If there was a fourth spot on your Heisman ballot.
Love think he's gonna go higher. Everyone's lost in the
sauce with Sauce Gardner, the kid out of Cincinnati. But Arnie,
I think the best cornerback in this draft is Derek
Stingley Jr. And Derek Stingley Jr. Essentially did what everyone
said you should do when you have a great freshman year. Now, granted,

(01:33:45):
an injury last year heard him, but he sat out
the COVID year and then when he came back, he
got deemed up and decided to sit out the year
and prepare for the NFL draft. Dude is a lock
down corner So those are two guys as well. I
think you can put in there that are gonna go
number twenty two. I thought he was higher than that.
If so, I think somebody could take a run on him.

(01:34:07):
Um wait, did I say Dax Hills from Mission is
from You said it was from Tulsa, but I thought
it was from Michigan. No, he's He's from Booker. He
went to the book at you Washington High School and
he played in Michigan. If I said that wrong, Yeah,
Devin Lloyd's from Utah. Dax Hills from Michigan. Tulsa kid
played a book of Washington, went up to Michigan. We
didn't know if he was gonna stay at Michigan. Some
we're kind of hoping you'd come to Oklahoma. But yeah, no, no, no, Pete,

(01:34:29):
I understand where that came from. Sorry if I missed pop,
let me throw one more guy actually here real quick.
That there's a lot of buzz around that I don't get,
and that's Cavon Thibodeaux. Um I I don't understand the
character concerns, Arnie, do you. I just I see a
dude that is a freak athlete. This reminds me of
when people were dumping all over Justin Herbert. No one

(01:34:52):
remembers that. Leading up to the draft Justin Herbert, the questions, Oh, man,
I don't know if he can be a leader. I
don't know if he can command to huddle. Was he
in a pro style offense in Oregon? Is he ready
for the next level? And I'm not going to tell
you that I wasn't in that boat, because I mean,
even you ended up with Tow and you're somehow still
happy about that. Over Justin Herbert, I I don't know

(01:35:13):
if it's an Oregon thing or what, but Arnie, I mean,
you watch this guy in the Pack twelve. He's a
freaking stars. Is this like one of those rumors that's
coming out so he'll drop to a certain team? Is
that is that where you're getting? I have no idea,
but I mean, this is a guy that if at
the start of this season was probably the consensus number one,

(01:35:36):
and at the start of the draft process was the
consensus number one, y'all put on the tape of Aiden
Hutchinson in the National semifinal game didn't go well, And
I know that's a little bit unfair to judge on
one game and everyone's talking about the Ohio State game,
but listen, I'm I think Aidan Hutchinson's a good motor guy.

(01:35:58):
But if you're asking me for the biggest difference maker
in the draft right now as far as an edge guy, man,
I'm I'm all day on Cabon Thibodeau or Trayvon Walker,
the kid out of Georgia's and out of all those
names you mentioned, they'll all be more of a difference
maker than any quarterback they'll be taking out of this draft,
which is why it's probably not the six season was
the last couple of years. I think it's gonna be
fascinating to see where you actually get that mini run

(01:36:21):
on quarterbacks. Is it gonna be late in the first round,
Is it gonna be in the second round, Is it
gonna be at all? Is it just gonna be sporadic?
Because you're right, there's just not that juice around this year.
There'll be any trades though, well, Jimmy well, Jimmy Garoppil
was still hurt, so I don't I don't expect it
to be traded. But I'm wonna think if there's still
gonna be some major trades, if there's some quarterbacks to
be shifted around, well, And it's funny because usually by

(01:36:44):
this point last year you had the Matt Stafford trade, right,
and you had free agency go through, and and there
wasn't these massive earth shattering deals outside of the Matt
Stafford trade this year, all those trades I think happens
early that everyone's pretty set. I think you'll see team
I think you're on do it on you. I think
teams with multiple first round picks might try to move

(01:37:06):
back a little bit. But I just don't know. I
don't know it's gonna be this thirst to move up
from you really need to first round picks and have
to pay premium money for a tackle and uh safety
or something like that. I certainly don't. I don't either,
but you get them on rookie deals. So but it's
still though, that's a lot of money, still a lot
of money, and that's the big question about safety's right.

(01:37:27):
Take a safety in the first round. That's a lot
of money to spend on a guy for four that
fifth year option. But with Kyle Hamilton's and Dax Hill
two studs, all right, there's I've got more draft notebook.
But I see I'm losing Danny G and don right now.
Danny g went home. I think he well until the
third you want to talk about the Raiders. Let's just
talk about the Raiders. I'm waiting. I'm waiting for pick

(01:37:50):
eight six. Will there be a top old lineman left
on the board at that time? They'll trade up somehow,
they'll figure out where I hope. So we need a
right guard. Stop it. I see a little bit of everything,
the missing piece any to the Super Bowl. You get
a right yard and that is a super Bowl team.
All right, Um, when we come back, let's let's type
our Lucien's I've got that Kyrie sound that you were

(01:38:12):
talking about from earlier. Is the next try to save
their season. We'll see if you were right or wrong,
and we'll recap what was a wild night in New
Orleans as the Pelicans have nodded up their series with
the Suns. Plus more draft talk and more tweets. It's
Stinking Genius one at Plank Show. Everybody go follow us
at Fox Sports Radio. It's already in Plank on a
Fox Sports Sunday. It's already in Plank on Fox Sports

(01:38:39):
Radio at Stinking Genius One. I'm at Plank Show. Is wait,
is this your Vegas Week? No? No, it's June right right,
I'm going in June. Yeah, we're all set. It's gonna
be a party. Well, I'm taking that Sunday offs. By
the way, are you really good for you? Good for you?
Because I figure I'm gonna be in no shape. At

(01:39:02):
least you're honest with yourself. Well, I have a late
flight back to Vermont. It takes three days to get
back to Vermont. So well, remember the last time one
of us took the show off, Tom Brady came out
of retirement. So what that was to me about a
month ago, which, honestly, as I'm sitting in a in
an airport following this and again, now again I was

(01:39:24):
in Hawaii, so that made it a little bit easier
to handle. But I was leaving it to get your
text of oh what a night to take off. Look
at this, I'm like that, that's fine Tom Brady retired
and came back. Yeah, especially when when we get a
topic like that. All right, two quick tweets on the
draft talk. You guys so fired up about all these
offensive tackle and wide receiver conversations. Um pete rights. I've

(01:39:49):
seen Thibodeau dropping in mocks. Not sure why? Is it
an attitude issue or are injuries being found? He was
out a couple of times last year. If he really
falls on Thursday, they found something and no, no or
his ability. I mean, this guy has been literally he

(01:40:09):
was the top recruiting the country. He was the top
high school player in the country. But I guess now
some people get jadeveon clowney vibes and you get downgraded
if you don't play in the SEC now or what. Yeah,
and he didn't play in the SEC. So I mean
that that that's a mark against him. I don't get it.
I mean I really don't. But you know, I remember

(01:40:31):
we found out about why am I blanking on the
offensive lineman out of old miss who was that he
went from what Miami to Houston? And on Draft night
there was the video that came out of him with
the boss mask. Yeah exactly, And so I mean you
just you never know what could happen on Draft night.
Oh yes, say Laramie Tounzel, thank you very much. I

(01:40:52):
don't know how I missed out on Laramie Tunzel. But yeah,
I mean, listen, if we start seeing him in the twenties,
then we have to assume there's something beyond just say
people feeling like, oh he doesn't care about football like
you should. Uh, and then m L times rights. I'm
here in Salt Lake City and I love Lloyd, would

(01:41:12):
love to see him in New York. I think Devin
Lloyd wud be cool in New York. I just I
don't know if the Giants are gonna try to shore
up there offensive line at five and to get one
of those tackles, or if they're gonna try to make
a move for a defender. And so it's easier to predict,
at least, I think it's easier to predict where people
are gonna go when you had those skill positions, those
quarterbacks in there. It's so tough now to figure out

(01:41:35):
where but he's gonna go. It's gonna be tough for
to figure out the top dead more than ever now
with the lack of quarterbacks and skill spots this year's
it's terrible to try to figure it out, which is
why I think so many people are gonna be wrong.
All right, just real quick to this drill with me
before to Sager's final update. If we were to to
rework the two thousand and eighteen draft, obviously whenever Baker

(01:41:56):
went number one, I would still draft Baker Um. But
I know that most logical people would say, what Josh
Allen or Lamar Jackson and number one? Overall? If we
can re draft, if you're Cleveland, if you're Cleveland, it's
gotta be Josh at least I don't think it does.
I mean, you can't go wrong with either one, but
after what he's accomplished, I would have to think. So
you redraft twenty nineteen your Arizona you still take Kyler

(01:42:20):
Murray number one? Or is it Nick Bosa? I mean,
there wasn't much from that draft. I mean, Jeffrey Simmons
has been nice, but who am I going to get?
Who am I going to get a quarterback? Event don't
take Murray Um at that spot? Who am I gonna get?
Later on? Daniel Jones? What's the second quarterback taking? R?
I P. Dwayne Haskins went in the first round of

(01:42:41):
that draft, So that's tough. That was a tough quarterback draft.
Drew lock went in the second round. Hey, there's that
you can you can get him, but again, Tyler still
number one. You could have a debate about Boza him
or both. If you are the reason I always doubted
it was the terrible interview we did on Patricksow. You

(01:43:02):
hold that against him so much, I know I do.
I really what if I got him to come on
the show, could that change your opinion of him? Basically,
so you can hear that he's just really laid back
and yeah, he kicked that interview, but he's he's he
was a Norman. I thought I was going to have
him on the show because I thought he was gonna
pick baseball and all over your local show, right as

(01:43:26):
the A's a single a affiliate where the Vermont Lake Monster.
So we would agree. You would still go Burrow over
Justin Herbert number one? Right? That's it, right, question Mark?
Who over number one? Burrow or Herbert would be the two? Yeah?
Um gosh, I love Justin Herbert. You know that. I

(01:43:49):
know I'm falling in love with him, and he plays
for one of my team's rivals. You know I wanted
him all on right exactly, you weren't. You weren't taking
if the doll to take him up, Quitty being a
Dolphin family, That was my exact quote, or it's something
along those lines. We take Herbert, I'm never gonna be
a Dolphin fan again. And then Trevor Lawrence last year.

(01:44:09):
I mean, there's still so much to debate, but I
think he would probably still go number one, right, Oh, absolutely, yeah,
he would still go number one. But I, um, and
I shouldn't think like this. I'm starting to think I
was wrong about how great he's going to be. But
I shouldn't have that attitude. My goodness. I mean, I
feel like it's like I'm talking about Matthew Stafford. You
put this guy on a decent team or a good

(01:44:31):
team and like the sky is the limit, but he's
on Jacksonville. What can you do? I guess my point is,
outside of Baker's year, teams have done a pretty good
job the last few years of getting the guy number
one who ends up being the best, the best player
out of that class so far. Now we can start
going back to two thousand and sixteen when Jared coffin
number one and Carson Wentz went number two. I mean,

(01:44:53):
and in realize there can still be a lot of
mistakes made, and again, it's my guy, but right now,
Baker is a mistake where he went. We could talk
about Jamis Winston being the topic in the draft, though
he has a great chance to resurrect his career and
some misses like like Jadeveon Clowney going number one overall,
but Annie, for the most part, for the last few seasons,
we've seen teams hit. So I'll be really surprised if

(01:45:16):
Jacksonville still decides to go through with eight Hutchinson at once.
Any chance Baker's traded um during this draft to now
you know, I was around him this weekend, right, no idea.
Oh for the Oklahoma game. Now, I want to be
clear when I say this, Um he uh, he was
on campus. We didn't hang out, but when we saw

(01:45:37):
each other, arn'tie, it was a um bro hug, like
he knew like we like we were just sitting there
doing a post game interview after beating the snot out
of Oklahoma State or something, two pros together. But I
didn't get a sense in anything he did. But that
was the only time I saw him, by the way,
So when I'm like, oh he was here, that was it.

(01:45:59):
So I'm not trying to say uncle, but there was
no buzz about it. I mean nothing. This was truly
for him, a celebration of where he what he did
in Oklahoma and where he was, and there was hardly
any talk about his future and what's next. So I
don't know if that's hey, marinate in this moment that

(01:46:19):
you're never gonna have again there's an ambron statue of
you outside the stadium that's never leaving, or if it's
an indication that like nothing's going on. I don't know,
and I don't want to speculate on one because and
it takes away from the other. I think something has
to be going on because there's no way you're gonna
be able to keep him. So um, it's gonna happen
sooner or later, maybe later, but something has to be

(01:46:41):
going on. And just asked, alright, tweets coming up, more
of them, and I've got to play this sound. I've
got to see if you were right or wrong with Kyrie.
But first, for one final time, tonight, Steve to Sega.
With everything going on in the world of sports, what's up, Steve,
and a reminder, the NFL Draft starts this Thursday night
in Las Vegas, with full count Ridge here on Fox
Sports Radio. NFL team started voluntary offseason workouts this past week.

(01:47:05):
The mandatory minicamps will be in June. Tonight was the
NBA's deadline to declare for its draft. Duke freshman A J.
Griffin declare the fifth duke player to declare for the
NBA Draft in the last week, and Kansas guard oh
Chia Boggi is going pro. He was named most outstanding
player of the Final four recently was Big twelve Player
of the Year. But North Carolina guard Caleb Love will

(01:47:27):
return to the tar Heels. A lot of the tar
Heels players are coming back, just like most of U c.
L A's roster is coming back. As for the NBA playoffs,
the late game in New Orleans went to the Pelicans.
They tie up their first round series with top seed
Phoenix two games apiece. Final score tonight one eighteen one
oh three. Chris Paul had eleven assists but just four
points in the loss, and guard Devin Booker, he has

(01:47:50):
out for the series, could miss couple weeks with the
strain hamstring. Brandon Ingram thirty points for the winners. Denver
is still alive, down three games to one after beating
Golden State twenty six to one twenty one. The Nuggets
blew as seventeen point first half, lete trailed with about
a minute left, but still one Nuggets shot fifty six
percent from the floor. Nicolea Yokich thirty seven points in defeat,

(01:48:11):
Steph Curry with thirty three Clay Thompson thirty two points
despite foul trouble. Game five at Golden State on Wednesday.
In the East, the top seed Miami up three games
to one after winning easily at Atlanta to I one,
ten to eighty six. They held Trey Young to nine points,
five assists, five turnovers, Jimmy Butler thirty six points. The
Heat as a team had only six turnovers, and guard

(01:48:32):
Kyle Lowry was out tonight with a strain hamstring. Milwaukee's
up three games to one after winning at Chicago again one.
The Bulls on Friday lost at home by thirty. Today
at home lost by twenty four. They're just about eliminated
and game fives in Milwaukee on Wednesday. Janice atenant Cumpo
today thirty two points, seventeen rebounds, and Grayson Allen in

(01:48:53):
Milwaukee had twenty seven points off the bench. He wasenten
of twelve shooting from the floor. Joel Embiid will need
um surgery for a torn ligament after the playoffs, and
Ben Simmons and the Nets will not make his season
debut Monday due to a sore back. Ross Chatame the
NASCAR winner Sunday Night ball game went to Milwaukee on
a sack fly top of the ninth one nothing at Philadelphia.

(01:49:15):
The starter for the Phils, Aaron Nola, had seven scoreless
innings nine strikeouts. Milwaukee starter Eric Lauer six scoreless innings,
thirteen strikeouts. The Dodgers record now eleven and four after
dominating at San Diego ten to two. Clayton Kershaw's three
and oh he went five innings in this blowout. Dodger
pitcher David Price is out. He tested positive for COVID.

(01:49:36):
Cody Bellinger of l a two homer's four RBIs Freddie
Freeman a two run homer. He's batting over three twenty. Meanwhile,
the Giants won again. They're eleven and five. Jack Peterson
to home runs in a twelve three win at Washington.
Nationals have lost five in a row. Jack Peterson went
three for three, three RBIs three runs scored. He's batting
over three sixty for the Giants. He is a Northern

(01:49:57):
California native. Oakland to nothing over Texas. That sends the
Rangers record to five and ten Seattle. Meanwhile, ten and six.
After a twelve inning victory against lump In Kansas City
five to four, Angels led six nothing in the first inning.
It was six six against Baltimore at the seventh inning
stretch bottom of the seventh Angels took the lead on
a basis loaded walk and won seven to six. Colorado

(01:50:21):
and the Mets each one on the road Miami and Pittsburgh.
With road wins, Cincinnati ended an eleven game losing streak
beating the Cardinals and Adam Wainwright four to one. The
Reds hadn't held a lead for a full inning in
two weeks until today. That's how good this team is
this year. Tampa Baby Boston five to the final and

(01:50:42):
the winning pitcher was actually the starting pitcher. That's the
first for the race this season. Shane McClanahan seven inning,
seven strikeouts, Yankees ten to over the Cleveland Guardians. Garrett
Cole got the victory and on tenth inning. Homer's wins
for both Houston and for Minnesota home runs off the
closers in those games. The loss for the White Sox
that was six four Minnesota over the White Sox. Well

(01:51:04):
White Sox have lost seven in a row and outfielder
Eloy Jimenez is out six to eight weeks with a
torn Hams dring. Final note, there was a headline this
weekend in the Boston Globe family terrorized by golf balls
when a judgment from a neighboring country club turns out
a family bought a house, their first house, and they
have three daughters aged five at under, and they soothed

(01:51:27):
the nearby Indian Pond country Club in Massachusetts for trespass
because of the continual bombardment onto their property golf balls.
They had purchased this place five years ago. The golf
club had already been there about fifteen years apparently. Anyway,
the first time they set up the kiddie pool in
the backyard, straight golf ball from the splashes into the water.

(01:51:51):
Over time, so many windows of theirs were shattered that
they just stopped replacing the windows with glass. They have
a full plastic crate women in golf balls that have
hit their house over the years. They've tried to work
it out with the country club, but not to their satisfaction.
They even tried to kids have changed the hall just
making short or something like that. Yeah, the country club

(01:52:15):
did not. The family got an appraisal for netting, only
to be told the net could not be constructed high
enough to keep them all out. The judgment was three
and a half million dollars for and suffering to the family,
plus interest, making the award total close to five million. Yes,
the account the club will be appealing. Thanks Steve, have

(01:52:40):
a great week, buddy. All Right, Um, a couple of
quick tweets before we get to Arnie's picks. I I
kind of like this debate at Bison Bruski hits a sub.
We were just looking back over the last few years
and saying, Hey, for the most part, it's debatable, but
a guy that should have gone at least close to one,
if not one, was taken one jury still allan Lawrence,

(01:53:02):
you and I both agree on on Murray there's still time. Um.
Obviously the Baker miss with Cleveland, but for the most part,
the guy that's gone number one has ended up being
an okay fit. Bison Bruski disagrees, No way do I
take Murray at one the brittle midget as I call him,
from that anymore? Am I getting canceled? Um only really

(01:53:27):
completes passes when he can roll out because he can't
see over the line. That's not true, makes bad decisions
with the ball, just like r G three. The league
figured him out. Continues, I'm gonna go on with Bosa
and found a veteran quarterback. They wouldn't have to find
a veteran quarterback because Arizona had taken Josh Rosen. Arnie's
favorite quarterback was Um, I've been out on Murray since

(01:53:50):
the Cardinals drafted him. Speaking of shorter qbs, when our
what if Wilson doesn't have a big year in Denver,
do we worry that he's already done? Um, he's done. Yeah,
Arni's already got Denver finishing last in the West, got Kyler.
Murray's missed three games in his career, but the way
he finished last year I think is what everbody's looking at. Right.

(01:54:11):
But I mean, you've you've got thirty two at forty
six games of equity built up when you haven't missed
a game, and nary as snap with Arizona, and suddenly
he has a year where he gets deemed they rest him, right,
I mean he probably he's and he's missed three games.
Three It's like oh, brittle, midget brittle, what dude, it's

(01:54:34):
miss three games, um, and he's played three years and
started all of them, um outside of three. And and
then the second part, I could not disagree more. Kyler
is an incredibly accurate pastor. It might have one of
the best arms in the NFL. So when you're like, oh,
I can't see over, he can't do this, No, no,
he can't and he has I mean, listen, Arizona doesn't

(01:54:56):
want to get rid of him. And I'm telling you
if they put it right now, uh, they don't have to.
They don't have to. And the funny part of that
is that's why you take that quarterback in the first round.
What do you always tell me? What do you teach me?
You want that quarterback on a rookie deal. That's the
best way to Listen. We can debate whether or not
you could have gone with both said one or not.

(01:55:17):
That's fine, that's very much up for debate. But yeah, man,
I I totally disagree on that. All right, Listen, we're
running late, so let's get our final time out and
when we come back, the stinking genius gives you his
picks right here on Fox Sports Radio look at the
show flying by. It's been fun tonight, Man, great work

(01:55:39):
before the show to get us on the air. You're
welcome as always, Danny g crushing it, Steve Di Sager
on updates, and the millions at millions of editors behind
the scene. Arnie, let's go your picks before I throw
two more quick draft notes taken away, stinking, give me
a little music, put us in the mood. We go
right to the NBA on Monday, where the Celtics are

(01:56:00):
gonna play the Nets. It's gonna be game number four.
And let me tell you something, I don't care who
they would have bought back. It doesn't make it difference.
Simmons is not gonna play, but the Nets are going down.
It's not so much that k d And and Kyrie
Kidd have big games to win one at home, but
the Celtics are out hustling them too. And that first
game really took a lot out of the Nets. You

(01:56:21):
just see them that they're just a defeated team. Celtics
win the game, they get the sweep, and the Nets
are donezo. Speaking about Donzo, the Sixers get to win tomorrow.
They win their series four games to one and it
is ov R for the Raptors. Utah Dallas tied into
two games apiece. They'll go back to Dallas. Man, I

(01:56:44):
was really good to see Luca put into what it
was like twenty eight or something like that. Um, yeah,
he did look good. I think you're gonna go ahead
and get more to the same. I'll take Dallas, but
they'll just go up three games the two. We'll see
what happens after that. The other series, the Heat are
up three games to one. I think they've finished it
off next game at home, so they'll win their best

(01:57:05):
of uh seven series four to one. The good series
the Wolves and the Grizzlies. Man, I'm all over the
Grizzlies to win that, but I think it's still gonna
go seven. I'll take the Grizzlies in game five and
the Sons and the Pelicans, who would have thunk him.
The Suns get their revenge in game five, may end
this thing in six. They could possibly do it. So

(01:57:26):
there you have my picks, two of them, as you please,
no longer strictly for entertainment purposes only. Thank you, Thank you,
thank you. So you know you're not buying into the Pelicans,
are you? No, I think the Suns. The Suns definitely
gonna take Game five, and they may end it in six.
So we'll see what happens there. Calbert had a good tweet.
I can't believe I missed it from earlier tonight at

(01:57:48):
that damn bear who writes as a diehard Suns fan
for thirty years, I've heard in the valley how it
was gonna be a Sun sweet What won't we Sons?
What we Suns fans able to realize is how white
hot the Pelicans are playing continue to carry momentum from
the playing game. They look great, I mean, energized mccollins

(01:58:11):
has been a great addition for them. I don't know
why I don't want to root against Phoenix, but for
some reason I I wouldn't mind if they got beat.
I mean maybe it would pull you in a little
bit more to these playoffs right now, And that's all
that's that's what I need a lot more Pelicans, like
I need more cow Bell right like that reference, like
that reference in there that is a Saturday Live that

(01:58:32):
is still fairly relevant. Okay, So the Kyrie Irving cut
from earlier where you thought he blamed his vaccination here
here's now again. I'll make this clear. I've never heard
him say specifically, but there is a part of this
to where it kind of I don't know, hints around that.

(01:58:52):
In terms of our spirit, I think I'm being in
the what we call the trenches, or being in a
series like this with guys that, um, you know, we
we're all just trying to jel and and usually you're
jelling around the right time, and that that team in
the other locker room is jelling at the right time.
They've been jealing since Christmas. Uh So for us, we
were we're just in a in a new experience, um

(01:59:15):
as a group, and and we just gotta respect that
and just you know, bring everything we can to this
next game and just do one possession at a time.
You know, I don't want to be too cliche, but
I don't have a lot of answers for how you
make up time, you know, from October until now, when
you know, usually teams would be jelling and things would
be feeling good. Um, you know you could put it

(01:59:35):
on me. Uh in terms of playing better, controlling the game, better,
controlling our possessions, being more in the stance, not turn
the ball over as much. Um, I have five hours tonight. Um,
so you could put it on me uh more of
just you know, just doing more, you know, and holding
the guy's accountable the same way. I'm not lucountable. So
I put out I put on you for why the

(01:59:57):
team's not jelling because you weren't around at the beginning
of the year or most of the year. It does
that in a roundabout way. But then he said, you
can put it on me. I've got to be better,
and you're like, WHOA, so are you saying you put
it on you for what happened without this team jelling
or for the way that you played. It's fair, it's

(02:00:17):
fair conversation. We'll see if the Nets can keep this
series allot tomorrow and then finally, Arnie, three things. Three
things I want you to keep an eye on on
Thursday night. Number One, don't be surprised if Tennessee goes quarterback,
if Malik Willis, is there a theory. Number two, I

(02:00:38):
think I don't think Calvin sorry, Calvin Thibodeaus a college
football coach. I don't think Cavon Thibodeau's fall is going
to be very large. I think he's going five to
the Giants. Finally, I think the Kansas City Chiefs are
gonna be moving up on Thursday. Take. By the time
they pick at twenty nine, there's probably gonna be five

(02:01:00):
receivers off the board, like the Ohio statewide receiver. I
think that they love Chris Lave and I think that,
and he's one of two. He's one of two Ohio
state wide receivers who are going in the first round.
It's gonna be great already, have a great week and
joy sig around big Ben Mallard coming up next on
Fox Sports Radio.
