Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Do not do not,
I repeat, do not touch that dial. You heard the man.
There's time for Fox Sports Sunday, and we've got a
lot on the docket tonight, so let's get busy. On
In that note, please put your seat backs forward, your
trade tables upright. We are ready for takeoff. My name

(00:23):
is Bernie Fratto. Come be alive from Las Vegas. Fox
Sports Radio Studios will take you after three am Pacific
six am Eastern, along with my savvy and capable crew,
Eric Kemp Chris Perfett. Belongos on the update says they
will man the ship from our Los Angeles compound, turning
all the dials, keeping us glued together. Man, we've got

(00:43):
NBA playoffs. John Gruden is back in the news. Get
to that a little bit later. You'll want to know
about that. NFL Mini camps are in full swing. Major
League Baseball updates. It's been a weird year. I continue
with my oddities and some of the things is happening.
Names in the news that plus what kind of brand

(01:03):
new fool are you? And what my name in the
final hour, But first, the story that exploded about mid
week and man is it delicious when worlds collide? I'm
talking about Nick Saban's rant, Jimbo Fisher's response the n
I L gold Rush, and how exactly the powers to
be in college football are willing to address this elephant

(01:25):
in the room. But first, what lit the fuse? Why
did Nick Saban rant about Texas A and M and
n I L. And it's gonna take a minute to
unpack all these fiery comments, So pull up a chair
and relax, grab some popcorn, your favorite beverages, because there
are a couple of ways you can react and analyze about. Uh. Saban,

(01:49):
of course, unless you you know, just moved here from
Mars and you don't know that he's the head coach
of the University of Alabama. Uh, he's sort of. He
sort of painted multiple programs with the same brush, and
they alleged payments through n I L deals, But really
sort of, there's no question he focused on Texas A
and M and their ability to secure the recruits and

(02:12):
for this class, and I'm quoting Saban, he says, we
were second in recruiting last year and this is on
Wednesday night. Quote A and M was first, and M
bought every player on their team made a deal for name, image, likeness.
We didn't buy one player. I don't know if we
were going to be able to sustain that in the

(02:33):
future because more and more people are doing it. Not
make no mistake. I love Nick Saban a lot, but
that wasn't you just talking to some boosters while back
about how Bryce Young got a million? Anyway, I digress.
So here's the first way to react to this. Maybe
it was a highly calculated event. Saban meant to do it.

(02:56):
He knew exactly what he was doing. His comments completely
set social media on fire and went through social media
like you know what through a chicken, and he was
more than willing to take the short term heat, knowing
that this would cause a firestorm, which he continues to
sort of be under. This has legs five days later,

(03:18):
in order to perhaps raise a larger conversation about the
current uneven landscape of n i LL practices and how
it pertains to recruiting the second one. You can react
to this, which I think a lot of people have,
he said, that's just simply a misstep. Saban got caught
up in the moment. He was at an event to
help promote the World Games being held in Birmingham this summer.

(03:42):
And then he talked himself into going further and further,
and he went on and on, and he've seen him
do this in press conferences before when he wants to
get something off his chest. And by the time it
was over within minutes, Nick Saban's comments had circle the globe, yes,
flat out, circle the globe. Now, by the way, it

(04:07):
wasn't just Jimbo Fisher. Saban also got the the attention
of one Dion Sanders, who's currently you know Primetime I
love prime Time two man, he's the Goods currently the
head coach at Jackson State. This is a program Saban
mentioned in his remarks. Sanders posted on Twitter that he
would directly address Sabans quote lies as it pertained to

(04:28):
an alleged one million dollars one million dollar, one million
dollar recruitment of the nation's top player as your Austin powers,
allow myself to introduce myself. Kid's name was Travis Hunter.
He flipped to Jackson State from Florida State on signing
date earlier this year Texas and him their head coach,
Jimbo Fisher. He also verbally sparred with Lane Kiffin who's

(04:51):
the head coach at Old Miss regarding his injurect hit
Kiffin's injurrect comments about how the ag secured the top
ranked class in twenty twenty two. So quote, it's only
a matter of time before Fisher addresses his sabans remarks,
which he did very quickly, right Fisher previously anybody who,
by the way, has gone after Fisher and this recruiting class,

(05:14):
he's kind of characterized them as clowns. All right, So
but for Salman, do you know of his own accord
and start this controversy? And the bottom line it shows
Saban is kind of frustrated now with how the n
the n I L is being used differently around the country.
And the truth of the matter is, um maybe he's

(05:37):
got a point in a sense that it's almost into
June and three. Class at this point only has three
verbal commitments. Now that may not make sense to you,
but believe me this, you do recruit a head this farm.
I'm talking about class. To give them some perspective, Vanderbilt
has four verbal commitments. Now, obviously there's a different type

(06:02):
of athlete that Obama recruits. With all due respect, and
it's not about quantity. It's about quality. But nonetheless, Obama
has three recruits and Saban is always looking ahead, right
And and the truth of the matter is that Alabama,
you could say they recruit themselves, but in this man's

(06:26):
uh college football, it's not the same. Uh, it's it's
just not the same. And in a little bit later,
about ten minutes, I'm going to get into specifically what
Texas A and M is doing. And I talked about
this a few months ago. It's frankly and genius. Um
it would be a little bit you know, I think

(06:48):
it would be a little bit cheap to say that
they're gaming the system in much the same way that's
a John Calipari game the system during the one and
done phenomenon when that was getting going in Kentucky. He
made it work for him and didn't do anything wrong.
He just made it work best for him. Now there
no one's gonna line up to take up a collection
played for Alabama, right, No one's gonna feel bad for
the Crimson Tide. They've been stacking up top rank recruiting

(07:12):
classes for so long that you start to lose track
the guys they put in the NFL every year, even
last year when Saban said the Yankees bought every or
the called the Yankees while Freddy had slipped, when the
Aggie's the Texas A and m Aggie's bought every player
on the team through n I l Well Alabama, according
to the Seven Sports composed and finished second. But see

(07:35):
it's the future. It's not this year, it's it's beyond
this year. That's what's got Sabing uncomfortable. See if he
he doesn't feel if he's permitted to recruit the same
way that he alleges others are now Sabing all of
a sudden fields he's had a distinct disadvantage, and Saban

(07:56):
is not shy about putting himself out there to call
out now he saving himself is not on social media,
so he may not be seeing the fall out the
way anybody who has a Twitter account would. But I'm
sure he's aware of it because he even issued an
apology and allegedly I guess he called uh Jim Bill Fishers,
and Fisher said he didn't take the call and quote,

(08:19):
we're done. I don't believe that. I think they'll kiss
his makeup by the time the season starts. This is
this is good for the brand of college football. I
don't I don't care what anybody says, but Sam is
not going to back down from this. Okay, at the
end of the day, I know this, dude, He's not this.
This is sort of a controversy when there's not much
happening in college football. The calendar right now, there's a
bit of a lull, right uh. But Saban is always

(08:43):
been one of the sports best recruiters, and no matter
what happens, Saban has always had an answer. Saban has
always had a plan. Saving has always had a strategy.
I'm not so sure this time he does, though, but
that doesn't mean he won't next week or next month.
And here's what I mean by that. You may may
not remember. Back in two thousand nine, Saving went on

(09:03):
a similar rant when spread offenses became the absolute rage
in college football. And you know, Bama was just we're
gonna line up and kick your ass. We're gonna beat
you at the line of scrimmage. It's blocking and tackling
the rest of details. And make no mistake, Mama had
their share of great running backs and and and good quarterbacks,

(09:24):
good not great quarterbacks, great defenses, way above average wide receivers. Well,
guess what. Bama runs a version of the spread offense
now and he seems to be doing just fine with us.
I don't think he'll back down, but I do think
you'll make an adjustment when I think you find will
be interesting. And I gotta believe most of us, if

(09:44):
not all of us, are looking for it, looking uh
forward to it. But first of all, you got SEC
media days in July and then you've got you know,
it's right around the corner. I mean, we're almost what
we're We're ten days from June, so Juno go by
j lago by that you have preseason camp in August,
and then mark your calendars. The Crimson Tide. They host

(10:06):
Texas A and M on October eight, and Nick Saban
typically doesn't get beaten twice in a row. I don't
care who you've got on your team, and if you
if you're scoring at home, and I hope you are.
Bama is a sixteen point favorite at home against Texas
A and M on October eight. Now, I will tell

(10:27):
you this, uh what I am hearing, and maybe this
is what's getting back to Saban and this is starting
to cloud things. Is that through the grape vine and sources,
some of which are not mine, but others that have
told me and shared that what we're what coaches are
starting to hear during the recruiting pitches. He's almost every

(10:48):
recruit has said at some point during the visit something
to the effect of, Hey, this looks great. What kind
of n I L deal can I get? Now? Nick Saban?
Who's again? And I don't know how you can argue
with this. He's long been the sports best recruiter. Again,
he's always had sort of an answer and a plan

(11:09):
and a response. I don't know that he does, so
I think Saban one of the things Saban did and
I think this probably bothered some folks because no one's
going to take up a collection played for Alabama? Is
he sort of was wink Wick not not looking for
some guidance from the n C A right and there.
The n C is an organization that's I don't know

(11:32):
how good they are holding people accountable to the same rules.
And I think the game has changed. Things are more
out in the open. But if anybody doesn't think that
there have been golden handshakes and deals going back to
the sixties and fifties and I mean it. I've heard
I've heard stories. Okay. Uh a guy played high school

(11:55):
football with ended I'm not gonna name the school, but
he ended up at a school at a major state
eight and in a major conference. And back then, you uh,
you know, the university would get your jobs. You know,
you can't do that anymore. Uh. And and his job
was too water the lawn on one of the practice facilities.
And he was paid a princely some weekly to show

(12:18):
up at seven am and water the lawn on what Monday,
Wednesdays and Friday. So he shows up the first day
and he finds one of the you know, landscapers boring
the lawn on one of those big giant tractors. And
he says, hey, buddy, I don't I'm I'm here to.
I'm reporting for my first day at worked. I'm here
to water, you know, do some watering, watering the landscape.

(12:41):
And the guy turned off the tractor and looks at him, says,
what what what the hell are you talking about? Son?
He goes, I'm here to it's my job. I'm here
to my first day, I'm here to water the landscape.
And again the tractor look sentiment says get out of here,
you idiot. We have automatic sprinklers here. Those kinds of
things have been happening. Now it's just are on in
the open right. It's not illegal for a player to

(13:05):
end up at a university and say, hey, we'd like
you to represent our car dealership. Here's what you will
pay it. But now they're getting on ahead of it,
and this has become basically full scale free agency. And
you know, when you combine that with the transfer portal
and cutting deals, I don't know that there's a simple
solution if they made me in charge. You know, Mark
emerd stepped down, and we're gonna talk about that in

(13:26):
a future show. The n c A has to get
this right this time. Mark Emerond did not have a
stellar body of work as a head of the n
c A. But if you transfer schools, you should still
have to read shirt a year if you're going to
participate in n I L. And for all those knuckle
heads who say, oh, they're they're playing, they're playing for free,
and no they're not. A scholarship is not free at

(13:48):
a baseball scholarship in college, not even a full one.
And I thought it was terrific. I thought it was
wonderful and it was not nothing. Okay, it's not nothing.
So if you think it's nothing, maybe if you want
to correct this problem, you can cut an inn I
L deal, or you can have a scholarship. But if
you get in an I L deal, you waive your
You waive your scholarship and give it to someone else
who doesn't get in an I L deal. You don't

(14:09):
like those rules too bad, but something has to be done.
There has to be a level playing field. I am
not a verse. College is a multibillion dollar entity down
Not all schools make money, and I'll you know, not
all programs are the same. But as is the case
for a lot in life. Uh, everybody has the same opportunity,
but not all. You know, not all people are created equal,

(14:31):
Some are better than others, some have to work harder
than others, all those things. But the reality of it
is for those select few at the top. If you
want this opportunity and privilege as it were, to be paid,
even if you're Quinn yours and you go to Ohio State,
you don't even make you don't even start. Now he's
back at at at another school at Texas. He you know,

(14:52):
he was allegedly promised a million dollar in I L
deal and he didn't. He didn't even start at Ohio State.
Now he's transferred. So there. This is rot with some issues.
Be that as it may. I'm not averse to some
sort of program. Now we need to row out the kinks,
and I think perhaps Nick Saban call that to light again.
Saban's looking for guides from the n c A, and
I don't know, you know how smart that is. Uh,

(15:15):
you know, I could come up with a funny analogy
right here, but I don't want to get fired from
my job. The long I'm a short of it is
is that Alabama believes they're playing it the right way
and Saban feels that people are playing in another way.
I don't look for that to change in the immediate future.
I look for Nick Saban to try to figure this out.
But I thought this this little you know, SEC coach

(15:37):
on SEC coach crime was really delicious this last week
coming up. What exactly was Saban referring to? And here's
the part or I tip my cap to Texas A
and M, because they've come up with an organization there
and there n I L program. It's called amplify and

(15:58):
when you hear what they're really doing above and beyond
trust the money itself and their ability to entice what
clearly was the number one recruiting class in the country
this year. When you hear what they're offering above and
beyond and how they were able to coalesce important people
to make this happen, You've got to tip your cap.

(16:19):
It's pretty impressive. I'm Bernie Freda Were Company Alive from

Fox Sports Radio. I'm Bernie Fadder. Come to your live
from Las Vegas, Fox Sports Radio Studios Again. We'll take
Apter three and Pacific six am Eastern. Man. We're just

(17:23):
getting started tonight. We're hot and heavy into n I L.
We talked about Nick Saban versus uh, the world, Nick
Saban versus everybody but Jimbo Fisher was the target, as
was Dion Sanders. And they've had their opportunity to reply.
So what was all the fuss about? What was Nick

(17:45):
Saban really referring to? When it comes to Texas and
and when I want to tell you so a while back,
the good folks at College Station got together and they
formulated a coalition, uh and they coordinated I would consider
to be a very well thought out, organized, uh expensive

(18:10):
an I L effort involving boosters and and and the like.
And they you know, they targeted um, you know, donors
and supporters of the university and they were able to
raise about thirty million dollars. And as a result of that,
Texas A and M and this class that Nick Saban
is alluded to netted six five star recruits, fourteen four

(18:36):
star recruits, three three star recruits, including the number one
linebacker recruiting the country, the number one defensive alignment in
the country, and the number two wide receiver in the country.
That's what you call the hall, my friends. And the
truth of the matter, it is. The truth of the
matter is that this was an incredibly well orchestrated, will coordinated,

(18:59):
will concentrate effort by a lot of people who knew
what they were doing. Now, the program they created, as
I've mentioned earlier, is called Amplify. What is amplify amplify
the ide logical purpose by and Amplify is to provide
a vehicle to serve Texas A and M student athletes

(19:20):
with quote the best in class education and resources related
to personal branding, networking, finance, media training, and the like. So,
if you're a stud and you're gonna go there and
play football, and you're also gonna get your education, you're
gonna get a life education too. This is heady stuff.

(19:42):
I don't care what anybody says. I'm a college graduate.
You know what. The two things colleges never teach anybody
how to make or manage money, how to have a
successful marriage and raised a family. I don't I don't
recall that my degree was in public relations, journalism, journalism,
public relations, community ATIS. I don't remember any of that.
You gotta figure that out on your own. Well, this

(20:03):
amplified program is going to teach people how to brand themselves,
how to use networking, how to you know, finance issues
now that you're making this money media training because you're
going to be the subject of stories. Some of the
specific programs and topics that are on the docket, they're
they're on the curriculum at Texas A and M. Building
your own digital brand, financial workshops, effective networking, evaluating job opportunities,

(20:31):
and negotiating offers. They they'll even create They even have
a topic and A and A and a program that
ub formulates mock job interviews to prepare kids to interview
when they go, you know, for their job that you've
seen any commercial, what percentage of people will end up

(20:53):
playing in the NFL, no matter how good they are,
Texas A and M very small percentage. So you build
your dig it a brand. You understand through financial workshops
how to manage your money. You learn how to effectively
a network to create opportunities for yourself. You learn how
to evaluate job opportunities and then't even negotiate your salary
and your offer. If you get one mock job interviews, then,

(21:17):
as you know Texas and it was a proud university
of the twelfth Man tradition, there are topics and programs
that include understanding the Aggie network and the Letterman's Association.
So they've got their alumni involved then, and this is
an important one. Baker Mayfield could have taken this class,
and I like Baker. Social media audit and analysis. What's

(21:37):
the old adage, think before you hit that key, because
it's gonna stay there in the cloud forever whether or
not you keep it or deleted. Best practices creating custom
content for your brand, These are all things that amplify
as doing. Yeah, they got six five stars and fourteen
four stars and three three stars, and yes it's the

(21:57):
number one recruiting class in the name. And Nick Sabing,
a guy with a lot of respect for it, even
caused his head to explode. And this is an effort.
People coalesced to create thirty million dollars and resources to
find these people and target them and it's a coordinated effort.
And so when jim Jimbo Fisher heard what Nick Saban

(22:20):
had to say, uh yeah, he didn't take it sitting down,
Jimbo Fisher fired back. We're gonna talk about that in
just a second, but first let's go to Mons Beloos
for the latest. Yeah, that whole Nick Saban and Jimbo
Fisher story is so great. It's just so juicy, and
it's so great, and I hope it's not the end

(22:41):
of it. I hope more comes out of it. And
I know we're gonna talk more about that later. But
the NBA playoffs continue and the heat they really they
had one plan and it was to win, and they did.
They beat the Celtics one o nine to one oh three.
They held all star Jason Tatum to just ten points.
He was scoreless in the second half, don't have a
single field goal. He also had six turn overs. This
is what Celtics head coach emit Udoka had to say

(23:03):
about that, understanding how they're gonna guard him. Just had
a big game Game two, and all they talked about was,
you know, up in their physicality, being embarrassed at home.
And that's what we spoke about not being cut off
guard or complacent or content with getting a win at
their place and understanding how they're gonna guard guys to
be physical, and we didn't match that. From the start.

(23:23):
It looked like we were, you know, kind of wilthy
to the pressure and started complaining to the revs and
took us out of the game from the start. But
disappointed to come out that flat. Did not expect them
to come out that flat. Did not expect Miami to
come out the way they did, and they got the victory.
In the end. Bam at a Bio led Miami with
thirty one points and ten rebounds. I'll start Jimmy Butler

(23:43):
did not play in the second half because of neat
inflammation out on the golf course Tiger Woods withdrew from
the PGA Championship after shooting nine over seventy nine, his
worst ever round at this major. Unfortunate. He said yesterday
that he was sore and that everything hurt. So it's
unfortunate that he sided after round two to exit or
after round three, excuse me to exit because he was

(24:05):
just in pain. Poor guy. And in Major League Baseball
tons of games last night, the Angels beat the a
snapping a four game losing streak for the Angels. Mike
Trout scored his one thousandth run. The Dodgers came back
to beat the Philly seven four and extend their winning
streak to seven. The Padres beat the Giants in San Francisco,
with Manny Machado hitting a solo homer. Final score was
two to one, and the diamond Backs came back to

(24:26):
beat the Cubs seven four. They were tied at They
were tied up four at the top of the tenth inning,
and Dalton bar Show hit a three run RBI to
lift the diamond Backs to win in Chicago, and then
the Yankees beat the White Sox five to seven. DJ
lem Mayhew hit his second career Grand Slam. Back to you, Bernie.

(24:47):
That wasn't all in the same game. He didn't score
like a thousand runs in the same game, did he No?
But I'm sure he could. It's Mike Trout. Would that
be a record? Would that be a new record? I think?
I think so. Research I do have to do. Let
me check the stats on all right, all right, good stuff,
thank you very much, by the way, uh not for nothing.
Before I get to the Jimboo Fisher. Jimbo Fisher retorts

(25:11):
say that five times fast. Uh, it's got an interesting
tweet from a gentleman named Kevin Webber. Uh, this takes
and I'll do a whole new level because he attached
an article. It has to do with California lawmakers proposing
a new bill that would require California schools to share
fifty percent of their annual revenues in football and men's

(25:33):
and women's basketball with their athletes. Wow, we'll probably get
into that in a later show fifty but it only
involves football, men's and women's basketball. It's still gotta pass
and there are obviously going to be some speed bumps there.
But this is where this is heading, all right. So
once Jimbo Fisher heard what Nick Saban said, and minutes

(25:56):
he announced a press conference and if two hours later
he delivered what I considered to be a pretty fiery
buttle to Nick Saban's comments. Uh that again, the comments
that Saban made Wednesday night that quoted Texas in and
bought every player and it's uh, you know, Vauna recruiting class.
He called Sabans comments despicable multiple times. He was the

(26:19):
word despicable multiple times. And although they threw this news
conference together, this press conference together very quickly, it lasted
almost ten minutes. He went on for ten minutes. Obviously,
Jimbo Fisher was was visibly upset, saying there was no
truth to sabans accusation. He said, we never bought anybody,
No rules are broken, nothing was done wrong. Quote, it's

(26:41):
a shame you've got to sit here and defend seventeen
year old kids and families in Texas and him because
we do things right. We're always going to do things right.
We're always going to be here. We're doing a heck
of a job. And and Fisher went on and he
you know the veins in the forehead, why not he's
defending his turf man. He he obviously took sabans comments personally,

(27:02):
but how how could you not take him personally? Right?
While he didn't name Saban by name, well you gotta,
he launched. Fisher launched a response. It was personal as well,
because I'll quote him now. He said, it's despicable that
a reputable head coach can come out and say this
when he doesn't get his way. The narcissist in him

(27:23):
doesn't allow these things to happen. It's ridiculous when he's
not on top. Now you may not know you may
not know this. Jimbo Fisher was an assistant of Sabans.
He was an offensive coordinator and he was Sabings quarterbacks
coach going back about twenty years before two thousand four.
So he's been on the inside. He's worked for Sabing,

(27:47):
he knows Sabing. And he doubled down and he said, quote,
some people think they're God. Go dig into how God
did this deal. You may find out a lot of
things you don't want to know. We build an up
to be the Tzarre football. Go digging his past or
anybody that's ever coach with him. You can find out
anything you want to what he does and how he

(28:09):
does it. It's despicable. And then uh Fisher went on
to say that Nick Saban had called him, but he's
he's not gonna answer. We're we're not going to We're done,
you know. And and let me just say this, let
me just say this a little bit tongue in cheek.

(28:31):
We don't have to go find out Jimboll, tell us,
if you know, we'll go feel free. I mean don't
leave us at the two yard line. Don't leave his hand. Um.
I don't really not suggesting you to do that. But
if you've if you've really got something, you gotta get
off your chest, and you really want to throw a
knockout punch, you had your chance. But he doesn't. He
doesn't want to do that. That's why I think they'll

(28:51):
they'll make up. And and I I know that Jimbo Fisher,
he's been around, he's been very successful. And make no mistake,
he juxtaposed his time with Saban next to his time
with while he was an assistant at Florida State under
Bobby Bowden before recalled. Jimbo Fisher took over at Florida
State after Bowden left and said, quote, he's the greatest ever. Huh.

(29:14):
When you've got all the advantages, it's easy. Well, come on,
I see. I don't think that's fair. I think Saban
was successful at l s U and he took a
tenant Michigan State team on probation at ten and one.
Saban and coach man, all right, but here's what we're
we're Jimbo Fisher got particularly uh for Nikety. He says, quote,

(29:35):
you can call me anything. You want to come call me,
but you can't call me cheat. I don't cheat and
I don't lie. I learned that when I was a kid.
If you did, your old man slapped you upside the head.
Maybe should somebody should have slapped him. Well, let me
drop a little knowledge here. Research Nick Saban's life and
his dad wasn't exactly a day at the beach. Okay,

(29:58):
he was a good man, and he was a leader,
and he was harsh. And Nick Saban, what do you
think Nick Saban learned uh his demeanor? Where do you
think he learned his intensity? Where do you think he
developed his style as a very intense man. Had told
the story earlier with Aaron and And and Jason Martin
a couple hours ago when I was with W. T.

(30:21):
K and Ann Arbor in Michigan. In now, Nick Saban
was the head coach University of Alamo. I checked that
at you seen Michigan. What does Ronald be tonight? Nick
Saban was the head coach at Michigan State as part
of this charity golf scramble event. It was called golf
which stood for giving the others less fortunate. There are

(30:42):
a lot of celebrities out there, and they had six
people in every hole, three two threesomes in every whole.
Have you ever golf to scramble? You know what I'm
talking about. There was my threesome and then the threesome
next to us was a couple of dudes I don't remember,
and Nick Saban, and he's the most intense human being
I've ever seen in my life. We got to like
the seventh to hold. No one said anything and took

(31:02):
forever to play. Took like five six hours. Get to
like the seventh hole in the front nine, and one
of the guys in our group, Jerry, pulls out one
of those range finders. He puts it up next to
his eye, tells you how far you are from the
green and the pin, And basically Saban noticed that. He says,
how far are we from the pin? Jerry says, well,
about a hundred and thirty seven yards. Saman says, well,

(31:23):
we have bottom hundred thirty seven yards and we fron
a hundred and thirty seven yards. Oh man, I left
this guy. He's the most intense gather seat in my life.
So I gotta figure out. I gotta work up the
guts to say something to him. So we make the turn,
we get to the back nine and uh and I said, oh,
I know what I'm gonna do. So the Detroit Lions
were actually pretty good. Then they've gone to the playoffs.

(31:45):
Uh In lost the first round of Green Bay. Wayne
fonsor head coach at the time, was on the head
was on the hot seat. A lot of people wanted
them fired. And there was a rumor Mike Nick Saban
slide on down and make the sixty minute drive from
from Lansing to Detroit. And so I asked him, I said, Saban,
are you are you interested in the Lions if they
come calling? He said, not if Mitchell is our quarterback. Well,

(32:06):
that's when Scott Mitchell was a Lion started quarterback. And
you remember Scott mitchelly was a little goofy, left handed,
had some good years, but he was not Mitchell. He
was not Sabing's cup of tea. You can clearly see
that the takeaway is saving is known to a mote.
I saw my own eyes. I was right. There be
that as it may. He if he has any advantages,
he created them. Go back and look how Alabama did

(32:28):
under Mike Shula. Right, no one has a god given
right to win, and he won two places L s
U and Alabama, and there's more pressure of those places
anywhere in the world. So somewhere in the middle there's
I think a fair landing spot. I'm of the belief
in prediction those tool kisses make up. But October eighteenth,
that's gonna October eight that's gonna be a doozy because Alabama,

(32:51):
UH will host Texas saying m and right now there
is sixteen point favorite. It's your popcorn ready. I'm gonna
get into this n L and I'll think a little further.
I'm gonna pull back to curtain. And by the way,
Tennessee has followed suits so of other schools like b
y U and Texas and Miami. I'll tell you what
they're doing, and then later in the show, I'm gonna
give you the viewpoint from the n c A and

(33:13):
how they plan on cracking down on booster involvement. This
n I L thing is big, bigger than you ever
thought it could be. But coming up, we'll bring you
back out to Vegas macking on sports. Mackenzie Rivers got
a little basketball game here. I don't know, I guess
It's in about eighteen hours and Dallas will be fighting
for the life. And there's an aspect of this game

(33:34):
the Mackenzie fields will be the only time you see
this in the entire series. So keep it locked. I'm
Bernie Fritto. Where coming you alive from the Las Vegas
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Don't go away. You're listening to
Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. We're back on
Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio on Bernie frit will
come to your live from the Las Vegas Fox Sports
Radio Studios. A long way to go, man, We'll take
you up to three and Pacific, six am Eastern. We'll

(33:56):
bring it back out to Vegas. Macking on Rivers. Let
me try that again, macking on Sports, Mackenzie, Rivers and
McKenzie in seventeen hours. We've got Game three question for
you before you get to your uh subject matter here,
it looks like Wiggins, Uh, Mitchell Wiggins is uh is
questionable uh for the game? Can Dallas potentially benefit from

(34:21):
that and take advantage of it? No doubt. Andrew Wiggins
has been a revelation so far, Yeah, so far? Sorry,
no worries. Uh, I hadn't been aware of that that
that he's made questionable. That is a huge question mark
because you might remember Gary Payton, the second one of
the better primitive offenders. For a guy that's just scratching
on to make it into the league is not going

(34:42):
to be there. Andre Iguadala, one of the defenders of
his generation, hasn't been a part of these playoffs yet.
So they're going next man up mentality. Maybe Hakim covan
Ala Juan Looney will be the guy to step up.
But hey, I mean they're they're running out of bodies.
Hey man, Well, first of all, for what it's worth,
Andrew Wiggins, he's now on the Warriors official injury report. Uh,

(35:06):
he's got ankle sort us. Now, look, you and I
both know he's gonna play great stuff. Your spot on
Kavan Looney first two games of this series fifteen seventeen
from the field, seventeen rebounds, was a lockdown defender in
the second half yesterday. But Dallas is heading back home
and actually there is something having to do with the
point spread Sunday later today that you believe will be

(35:27):
the only time this happens in the series. Yes, this
is what Vegas does, Unlike any other place on Earth.
Vegas quantifies psychology, and we've seen over the years teams
that lose game one in game two on the road
come home and consistently beat expectations. Although expectations are changing
because we've seen this. So in games where you're down

(35:49):
O two and you're at home, the average line over
the last twenty years has been a pick them, and
the average result has been a bit about to pick them,
maybe a little bit better for the home team. But
in the first half, these teams are winning by three
points per game over the superior competition that's picked. That's
that's lined at to pick them. And in this season
we just fast forward, we say, okay, how's this season doing.

(36:12):
These teams have been outperforming what we would think the
expectation was by about three points per game. However, Vegas
is catching up. Let's look at the last series. The
Mavericks were huge underdogs, only given about a thirty percent
chance by the market to beat the Sun's at the
opening around. They get blown out Game one, they get
blown out game two, Game three, they're favored by one

(36:33):
and a half points. That's the exact same situation here.
MAVs off of back to back losses are favored, this
time by two and a half points. What was crazy
about the last series is after the MAVs were favored
at home, come cute crowd, Game three, first half, all
of that, come back and win it. The next game,
they're underdogs. It's actually there, one and a half point underdogs,

(36:54):
were three point flip just for winning the game because
Vegas has discounted the his Doric psychological advantage that these
home teams have in Game three. That's why the MAVs
are two and a half point favorites tomorrow and I
don't think they'll be favorite at all in any game
the rest of the series. Alright, so I gotta believe
given the way to zigzag has been pretty solid this year.

(37:15):
And let's not forget Dallas and their first two series. Cumulatively,
in their first two games they were one in five
uh first three series. Because they're on two in this series,
they find themselves in the conference finals. Perhaps the first
half of the play your thoughts, yes, and this is
ironic because it's not only how good the MAVs are

(37:37):
in the first half. They were a top five margin
team in the first half all year, but how bad
the Warriors were The Warriors were the number one second
half team and one of the better teams on the
season if you take all the data an account. They
were bottom half of the league in the first half.
I think it's a little bit psychological with the Warriors
where they don't really get keyed in. Steve Kerr has
been a great adjustment coach and he's definitely got them

(37:57):
to be the best third quarter team in the league.
And then when it comes to the MAVs, I think
it's different. I think it's not so much strategic. I
think it's Luka don Ketch is the best player on
that team with a bullet and he hasn't been the
same guy in the second half. I mentioned it last hour.
If you just look at first half performance second half performance,
as you get m v P maybe best player in

(38:19):
the league, maybe best offensive player we've seen. Luka don
kets twenty one points per game per half, I should say,
in the first half of these playoffs, and in the
second half he's good. You know, he's not very efficient,
but he scores about ten points a game. He's like
all star quality. So that's the kind of dichotomy you
get when you're not Johannassanta da Kumpo. You don't have
you know, alien like athleticism and stamina throughout the season.

(38:42):
I mean throughout a game. Luka Donk is just you know,
his superpowers go away in the second half, and I
think that's a conditioning factor that will improve over the
long run. Now has that been the case in his
career or just and I believe he's got a stinger
in his right shoulder and they're not reporting it, and
I think they're you know, they're dealing with it and
he to tape and such. But he is averaging over

(39:03):
thirty four points per game in his entire game career
in the playoffs and even superseds. Michael Jordan, you've got
the last word on this. It doesn't. This is something
we have seen throughout his career, not only second halfs,
but back to back when the physical challenge is a
little bit more. Luca Dunkets, as great as he has
been from a talent perspective, hasn't been in the best

(39:24):
physical shape, which I think will improve, much like Zion
Williamson when he's nine, reaching the prime of his career.
But I would want nothing betting against Luka Dunkets in
the first half tomorrow. In the second half, though, I
think the Warriors come back. Warriors plus a half minus
one fifteen is my best bet. In the third quarter,
they're gonna dig themselves out of a hole. What's the
number on Dallas in the first half? A Dallas is

(39:46):
minus two and a half in the first half, the
same line as it is for the game. Okay, that
tells you everything you need to know. All right, good stuff.
Mackenzie coming up? Where's the N A way in? Are
they gonna crack down on N A L? Keep it locked.
It's just Bernie Fratto, Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
The Fox Sports Sunday train keeps rolling right along. Two down,
two to go. I'm Bernie Frattle compan Your life from

(40:08):
the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios along with my
savvy and capable team Eric Camp, Christoph Fete, Moncey Milanos
on the updates will take you up to three am Pacific,
six a m. Eastern Man. We got a lot of
stuff to get to. We've talked about SABAN, We've talked
about the n I L. We've talked about Texas A
and M's amplified program, and Jimbo Fishers response. Where does

(40:34):
the n c A weighing on all this? Well, you
may remember Ali Fraser that was a pretty big heavyweight fight.
This could be a heavyweight fight because it appears as
though in some former fashion, the n c A is
going to crack down on booster involvement on the n
i L. However, not without a fight, because when you

(40:55):
talked to lawyers, when you talk to sports agents, they say, yeah,
ring it. So the big news that was coming out
of last week's Big ten, Big twelve, Pack twelve, they
all had spring meetings conference Spring meetings. This the topic
that was front and center was the n C as

(41:16):
you know, impending it's coming their attempt to crack down
on school's boosters that are using n i L payments
to entice recruits to come to their school. So it
is believed that there is a likelihood that the NF
the n c will draft guidelines and i L guidelines.

(41:38):
They will form a subcommittee or they have formed a
subcommittee that includes Jane Smith is the Athletic record of
Ohio State, Val Ackerman, who's the commissioner of the Big East,
and they are expected to create some sort of enforcement
agency and swing into action. And I think you're going

(41:59):
to be reading more about this in the coming days
and weeks. And Jane Smith had an interview UM. It
might have been with the Athletic I'm not sure, and
he said that they'll be putting force some recommendations that
he hopes that the Division one Board of Directors UH
endorse them. And I think that's gonna be coming up
pretty quickly now. Not for nothing. A sports agent by

(42:23):
the name of Russell Smith, who I believe is based
in Utah and he has a firm called Encore Athlete
Marketing and he represents about eighty college athletes had this
reaction quote quote and I quote, I think it's adorable
that the n C as acting as if they're going
to crack down on anything. He's not wrong. What did

(42:45):
I say earlier about if saban's looking to the n
IS an enforcement agency, You can't exactly say their track
records been stellar in that area. Now and apparently there
have been conversations over this past weekend with boosters, lawyers
age involved that are involved, you know, hands on with
all these an I L deals, And there's some concern

(43:06):
because now administrators UM are are you know, raising an eyebrow.
But if you look at the general consensus, and I'm
very much not a part of any of these inner circles,
not very many people believe the n c has the
capacity to really sort of, you know, put the brakes
and put a governor on you know, this pay for

(43:28):
play market. It's at least above board, right, it's out
there for everybody to see. And if not long ago,
the you know Brett Kavanaugh, Supreme Court justice, Uh, he
had an opinion uh that basically said, quote the n
c IS business model would be flatly illegal and almost
any other industry in America, well not legally binding, it's

(43:49):
you know, it's all but invited future lawsuits challenging an
amateurism model. The long and the short of it is
that I think Brett Kavanaugh believes that d n c
A has stifled the college athlete. And maybe that's true. Now,
these lawyers they're loaded, they're loaded for bear, They're locked
and loaded. A gentleman by the name of Mike Caspino said, quote,

(44:11):
a minute they come trying to interfere with any of
my client's deals. The next day is the moment they
ate with an anti trust lawsuit, and this gentleman represents
several college football recruits that have landed apparently not only
six figure and ideals seven figure and ideals with you know,
with boosters at various schools. And there's a whole class

(44:32):
of people who can't participate in the market for athletes. Uh,
if you uh come down with a you know, a ruling,
and that's that's they believe it's discriminatory. In fact, it's
an I trust. That's that's there, that's their assertion. So
there was a ruling last summer called the Austin ruling,

(44:52):
and it led to the n c A scrapping. Uh
what was called They called n I LL guard rails. Okay,
they've been working on it for a couple of years
and instead they had they really couldn't come to a
They really couldn't come to a consensus. So they created
was sort of an interim policy and uh it's you know,

(45:13):
it took a fetch life first last year, but the
only specific language reminded members to quote avoid pay for
play and improper inducements tied to choosing to attend a
particular school. That just sounds vacuous to me. I mean,
if a kid goot wants to go to the highest bidder,
and this is happening. And I've heard this is happening

(45:34):
in the transfer portal. Kids who maybe have no designs
and transferring and all say wait a minute, let me
let me stick my neck in the portal. See what's
out there. You know, plenty of ficient to see. Right,
what if a better offer comes along, it might be
pleasantly surprised. You know, here I am playing basketball at
tim Buck two State, and I can transfer over to uh,

(45:56):
you know, uh, I don't know, name your own funny
school state and they're gonna offer me a hundred grand more.
Now they've got something to think about. So that's what's happening.
And you know, the n C claims that they're gonna
draw a line on the sand, and again, Jeane Smith,

(46:16):
you know, the a D at Ohio State has basically said,
you know, there's got to be some guidelines here, and
there's gonna be risk that you know, these types of things. Yes,
we might get sued, but for the betterment of the
people and the whole of the student athletes that quote
we serve, we've got to take that risk. So this
is something I would keep an eye on I think

(46:40):
I think that you know this n I L subcommittee
Apparently there are four members. I don't know who they
all are at this point. I just know a couple
of them, and they expect the Board of Directors to
be this entity that decides whether or not the enforcement
staff can you know, even get into deals that have
been signed in the past ten months or in the

(47:00):
any deal that's been orchestrated prior to an athlete's enrollment.
Obviously there's a lot of those out there. There are
kids have accepted an I L deals they haven't even
set foot on campus yet. Well you know what I mean.
So the enforcement that the d n C has a
vice president who is his title is Vice President of Enforcement.
His name is John Duncan, and apparently he's told administrators

(47:23):
that he's waiting for a direction from the membership before
starting to chase down athletes and go after schools and
track down boosters to establish proof that there are in
fact violations being made. Now, again, this feels like could
end up sinking under its own way because there's so many,
so many cooks in the kitchen, right, But it pears

(47:46):
to be that there will be an effort to clarify
that if there's a collective run by a donor and
it doesn't fall within the meaning of a booster, there's
gonna be people that are going to get uh, I'm
gonna have a you know, a white hot spot line
on him. One name that ended up in in in
an article I read was a gentleman by the name
of John Loise, who's a Miami booster. I understand he's

(48:09):
a big, big, big booster. And last month he openly
advertised that his business. He has a business called Life Wallet.
They'd made an eight hundred thousand dollar n I L
deal for a basketball transfer. A transfer now this is basketball.
He says, all of his deals have been approved by
Miami's compliance department, and what with stand any challenge from

(48:29):
the n c A. And he also went on to
say that trying to retroactively sanction the school over discussions
between a business like his and a potential sign, he
would quote be the equivalent of not posting a speeding
on the road and then ticketing and driver for speeding.
He's right, He's right. I don't know how you rect

(48:50):
You know, if I was speeding last Tuesday and they
didn't catch me, you don't retroactively get a ticket for that.
That's a pretty good analogy. Ruis would honestly the biggest
issues at the wools should be able to participate and
n I l okay, let them do it. They're right.
How could you be punished as a member school for
sometimes actions you can't control. So there's another very good point.

(49:12):
So Ohio State is an institution. They can't control everything
that their boosters are doing, and they can't be nine
places at once and they climb three mountains at the
same time. So this is a situation that's really sort
of all over the map. Right now. On the other
side of the coin, there's an organization called Spire Sports

(49:33):
are out of Tennessee, and they're the folks that comprise
that organization or former agents. They don't hide the fact
that when they visit with the recruits during the process
that you know, if there is going to be a
violation of n c A booster rules, then you've got

(49:54):
to be congnisant of that. I think I think there's
more conscientious um action going on in this whole endeavor,
this whole phenomenon. Then people realize and everybody's walking into
it when their eyes wide open, and it only affects
a small percentage of the athletes. And I think to
imply that there are all these open and shutting fractions

(50:14):
over recruiting inducements, and all of a sudden, you're gonna
there's gonna be legal challenges and any trust attorneys, and
then there could be potential sanctions and you know, limits
on booster payments, and they're trying to restrict and create
a ceiling and a salary cap as it were. I
don't know how again, I just my gut tells me
it's is only an opinion that it's going to sink

(50:37):
under its own weight because, uh, if in fact you
go after boosters, that's exactly what you're doing. You're limiting compensation,
which is at the core of this. I think we've
come full circle now. Uh as as to what the
you know, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh said, they don't
want people do no longer want the n c A

(51:00):
to be allowed to limit kids compensation, whatever that may be.
We're a free market economy. Most of many great successes
have been the result of the system that's in place.
Some people worked the system better than the others, right,
But whatever the guidelines, I will just about guarantee this.
It's hard to it's hard to imagine that the n

(51:21):
c A U will attempt to terminate agreements that are
already reached between you know, athletes and and and their benefactors.
At this point and in the past, if an athlete
accepted money from a booster, they need be rendered ineligible.
But I think if you tried this now after this
post Offtin ruling I talked about, I think the n

(51:41):
c would come under a hell of a lot of
scrutiny because n I L is here right, So I
think what you might see as investigators the I'd say
there's a probability to interview athletes to ascertain whether or
not they had contact with boosters prior to enrolling. If so,
the school and the boosters could in theory, in theory
only be punished. But I don't know how they do this.

(52:04):
It's so vast and since the beginning of time. Look,
obviously the n c A it's always important to them
that boosters not being involved in the recruiting process. Okay,
you're a little late to the party on that one.
I guarantee you it's been going on since the fifties
and before since since the turn of the last century.
And I'm not joking. I've done a lot of research
on this, okay, So an I L has been around

(52:25):
for ten months and it's gotten their attention. So the
n is not going to ignore it any further. But
whether or not they cross the line, or maybe that's
not the right terminology, whether or not to what degree
they take this and what what what appetite there is

(52:45):
to bring an iron fist down on an ILT remains
to be seen. The truth of the matter is, I
hope they don't try to make an example out of
somebody like they did with SMU back in the yearly
eighties when there was the death penalty. I don't think
they'll ever be a death penalty, and I'm not going
there don't. Let's not keep you know, let's not get twisted.
But this is sort of my long winded way of saying,

(53:10):
the n c A is watching, and they've now got
committees and they are going to I think, put their
two cents in sooner rather than later to create some
guidelines and speed limits and guardrails whatever you want to
call him. Because it's an IL thing is taken off
like Wildfather fire, a lot faster and a lot with
a lot more intensity than I thought it would. I

(53:32):
was wrong a year ago. I thought they would crawl
before they walk and walk before they runn Now this
has been the wild West craziness and it's the old
Golden rule. He who's got the gold teems to be
making the rules. Coming up. I want to bring the
crove into this and get their opinions and they can
take it anywhere they want. Is in Iel a good deal?
Is it an idea whose time has come? Is it

(53:54):
only a good deal if they can monitor it? Or
is this whole thing? Maybe be careful what you wish for.
We'll get the cruise thoughts coming up. I'm Bernie fredder
Where come to you live from the Las Vegas Fox
Sports Radio Studios. Stick and stay. You're listening to Fox
Sports Sunday and Fox Sports Radio. We're back on Fox
Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio and Bernie Freddock come to
you live the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Don't

(54:18):
forget the top of the hour, What kind of brand
new fool you? And what my name? Plenty of high
jinks take up to three and Pacific six am Eastern.
But let's stick and stay with this. N I l subject.
Let's bring in the crew because there's a lot to
unpack and they can start anywhere they want. I'd like
to get their thoughts. Mon C Balan, you know, so
let's start with you. I know you're very observant. I'd

(54:38):
like to hear your thoughts on and I oh, I
know right now you were like, is it a good idea?
Is it should there be rules? Are every too late?
I want to say yes to all of that, Like,
I'm for it. I've always thought that college athletes should
be able to be paid because it requires so much
of your time that you can't go get a part
time job. So I'm all for it. I do think

(55:00):
there needs to be some sort of rules, whether it's
that maybe you can't get paid if you transfer, or
maybe you can't get paid if you're a freshman. I
know that's but it's like, how can we pay you
when I don't even know what you're gonna do, what
kind of student you're gonna be, what kind of person
you're gonna be. So I think there there needs to

(55:21):
be some rules implemented. I just don't know how because
this has been going on, whether it be secretly or not,
loopholes with uh, you know, boosters and all that. So
I just don't know how you control it, how you're
able to control it when it probably has been going on.
Like you said, all right, you brought up a couple
of really good points and one I think that makes

(55:42):
a hell of a lot of sense. So if you're
listening in c A, take some notes. Maybe it's excluded
from freshman Yeah, you get into school. You have moved
away from home, yet you haven't enrolled in school. You
haven't strapped it on. How do you look. We talked
about this. I've talked about this multiple times. There's this
odd quarterback out of Texas named Quinn Yours who signed

(56:03):
a one million dollar allegedly and I led deal to
go to old house state. He didn't even start last
year and he ended up transferring back to Texas. Not
I don't know if he collected a million or not.
But the fact that to your point of Monsey, the
fact that they structured that deal and negotiated that deal
before he'd ever moved away from home and done anything,
the truth of the matter is your point is well
taken anything else. No, I think that that's my biggest

(56:26):
point really, And it's just like, maybe there could be
a a clause where it's like, Okay, if you survive
your freshman year and you are a good student and
a good teammate and a good person, then we give
you a bonus at the end of that year before
you start yourself. Fair enough, fair enough, So it's something
that's earned, not a gift, all right, Chris, Chris Perfette,

(56:46):
you're typically very introspective on these issues, so I am, um,
it's it's a it's a very complicated thing. Bertie. I
I think giving opening this up to college athletes was
a no brainer. On the flip side, I think it
was just opening the floodgates and yelling go was not
the right idea. And I don't think the n c
a A was the guardian that we expected them to be,

(57:10):
And to be honest, they're not going to be the
guardian going forward. They are in the throws of what's
called regulatory capture. Like their their compliance team is now
down to like I think at most probably a dozen,
maybe a couple dozen people. They don't have the manpower
to even do it, And why would you even want
to work for the n c A when you can
then bolt from the n c A later and go

(57:32):
work at one of these compliance offices for a university
where you'll be paid much better. It's it's not it's
it's a it's an untenable situation for any kind of regulation.
And you do need some sort of regulation in here.
Because you mentioned a free market, Bernie, we don't really
have any sports that are free markets. There they are,

(57:53):
you know, all our professional leagues are antitrust exempt to
some degree, and as I have been, as I've heard
from an economist the past, a free market is extremely
expensive for a lot of people to play in UM.
As far as what's going on with boosters or not,
I don't know if excluding freshman would really help. The
point of a lot of boosters has always been about

(58:13):
getting back in what we would call like the bag
era right where you're just you know, you got the
bagman handing kids. But the whole goal of that era
was to get the kid to come to the university.
It was all about landing them. So I think a
lot of the excess you see an n I l
of players who are getting a lot of money who
aren't even playing is part of that. It's it's because

(58:36):
that attitude is still going on. I've heard one college
coach even saying, like, look, I have boosters out here
trying to land a n I l deals with kids
I don't want to even give a scholarship to, like
I don't want to. I don't want him on my
on my on my roster. And yet you know, these
these guys are going out there. So I don't know,
it has to be centralized in some way. I'm not

(58:57):
if I was smart enough to come up with that,
I would not be working here in sports talk radio.
I'm not one of these people who thinks I can
just fix things from the sidelines like that. But there
definitely needs to be some sort of regulation, some sort
of governance over it. And to be honest, Bernie, I
don't think the n c A will ever be that,
but because I don't think anyone trusts them at this point.
There there's still ways behind on a lot of problems

(59:21):
that happened in college sports, be a North Carolina or
anything else. They've been so behind the eight ball. I
don't know how they regain trust at this point. And
I don't know where that comes from, because I just
don't see that solution coming down the pike anytime soon either. Alright,
you and Monsey sort of agree there needs to be guidelines, uh,
and there needs to be structured We've gotten it out

(59:42):
of the dark shadows. And to your other point, we
went from zero to ninety without thinking about whether or
not we've got breaks or we can handle you know,
shock absorbers and Uh, it's been kind of a ready
fire aim situation. And that's why this has become a
bit of a bit of an uneasy tip. So Eric Kemp,
you've got the final word on this last but not least.

(01:00:04):
Typically you've usually got a clever analogy. Really, the rich
get richer, Bernie, and that's kind of what's going on.
And I think that's what a lot of the sentiment
was between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher. That kind of
struck me as I don't know, kind of odd in
the sense that like your Texas A and m you'r Alabama.
You all you both have resources in which you're gonna

(01:00:25):
get some of the top recruits coming out of uh,
coming out of the n I L, the transfer portal
out of high school. I mean, you always have, right,
so really, the rich get richer. I think it's gonna
help out a lot of coastal schools. The n i
L with big boosters already blots of money going feeding
into these schools. Um. But I do agree with my

(01:00:46):
you know, co workers here in the sense that there
needs to be stipulations and needs to be regulations. One
thing I wanted to bring up was Jordan Alsen's transfer
to USC. The guys, yeah, he's set to make three
point five million, but tell me this, like, do you
do you want to play in Pittsburgh, you want to
play in Tuscaloosa, you want to play in Los Angeles?
Like that's my thing. And also too, is like the
three point five million, that's well over the annual costs

(01:01:10):
of going to USC before AID, which is eight five thousand,
sixty eight a year. So in my kind of in
in my humble opinion, these these players that are earning
through n i L deals way more than the annual
like tuition and fees. They don't get a scholarship. They

(01:01:31):
have to pay their way. So I think, yeah, for me,
it's like, if you're making three point five million, you
can pay your own tuitions, so use use the scholarships
on players that aren't getting an ideal and I and
IL deals. Yeah, No, I think that's fair. I think
that you could have a choice. If you accept an
N I L deal, you get no financial lady, get
no scholarship. Again, have one or the other. I think

(01:01:53):
to Momsey's point, maybe it's not for freshman. You have
to be enrolled into school. You have to actually have
been there a year and pastor classes and all that,
and and to Chris's point, more guidelines, more more guard rails.
And I think we're all in agreement on one thing.
That the n c A A move so slowly. Uh

(01:02:13):
you don't. They remind me. Have you ever go like
them to a nice restaurant and they put your meal
in front of you and the waiter says, would you
like fresh ground pepper with that? You say sure, and
they start to turn that big cylinder forever and nothing's
coming out, and you're like, you want more pepper, but
you don't want the guy's arm to fall off or
get bone chips in his elbow. And it goes really
slow and nothing ever happens. The n see. It reminds
me of one of those big cylinders. And we're going

(01:02:38):
to continue on because Texas A and M is not
the only school that's gotten creative. I'm gonna share some
other schools that have also stepped up, and I think
they're trying to follow Texas A and Him's model. But first,
she's anything but the slow moving cylinder and fresh ground pepper.
It's municiple ds of the latest. Yeah, definitely not slow

(01:02:59):
moving that is or sure. There was a little bit
of drama today in the Bronx between the Yankees and
the White Sox. Now, the Yankees did win seven up,
seven to five, and there was a grand slam by
d J. Le Mayhew, but there was a little bit
of drama Chicago. I'll start Infielder Tim Anderson took an
exception to Josh Donaldson calling him Jackie, as in Jackie

(01:03:21):
Robinson during the game and the benches cleared. Now, this
has to do with Tim Anderson apparently referring to himself
a couple of years ago in an interview as a
Jackie Robinson of today. This is what Josh Donaldson had
to say about that after the game. The first thing
I called him Jackie. Two dolls a nineteen he came
all of the interviews, said that he's a new Jackie
Robinson of baseball. He's gonna bring back fun for the game.

(01:03:43):
Two dolls a nine team I played for Elena. We
actually joked about that. If something has changed from that,
Like my meaning of that is not at any term
trying to be racist. It was just off of an
interview that what he called himself. Look, if he did
I apologize, I guess not. I was trying to do
any matter. I thought Josh Donaldson handled that well. He said, yes,

(01:04:05):
I said it, and this is why I said it.
This is not what I intended. But the benches did
empty out in that game. We'll see if anything happens
beyond that. The Dodgers did win their seventh straight game,
coming back for a seven four victory at Philadelphia. Mooky
Bets did it all three hits, three RBIs San Diego
one to the one in San Francisco as Manny Machado
hit a solo home run the Houston. There was a

(01:04:27):
battle in Houston as the Houston Houston Astros edged out
the Texans two to one. Justin Verlander is now six
one and has an e r A of a one
point to two St. Louis, one at Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay
one in Baltimore. And there was a reindown game in
Detroit between Detroit and Cleveland. It will be made up
in July. And of course the big game in the

(01:04:49):
NBA Playoffs that he had to survive. But at least
they thought they did, and they did. They took Game
three from the Boston Celtics, beating them one on nine
to one oh three. The big star bam at a
Bio thirty one points, ten rebounds, six assists, and four steals,
while the Celtics committed twenty three turnovers in the game. No, boy, off,

(01:05:09):
that's not how you wine turnovers, b do you, Bernie?
Not like that? It's no good No, yeah, no, right,
all right, thanks so much monster good stuff. Um real
quickly as I wrap up in I l because there's
so much meat on the bone. Uh. But just a
couple of closing thoughts, and you know now the n

(01:05:30):
C as involved, uh, And I just think there's awareness.
There's an old Chinese proverb you can curse the darkness
or light of candle. I don't think they need to
throw out the baby with the bathwater. This is an idea,
who's time to come. It's just how do you do it?
And just because Texas A and M is in the
news and USC just poached a wide receiver, they're not

(01:05:52):
the only schools. As a matter of fact, one another
SEC school, Tennessee. It's my understanding behind the scenes, they
have got what's sort of what they call an in
house quote college sports collective, and they're attempting to raise
twenty five million a year to fund athlete mayme, image
and likeness deals. And you know, Tennessee is a long

(01:06:14):
time prod football program. They want a national championship as
recent as nine with T Martin. And they have not
been great in recent years. But could they return to greatness?
Why not now? Right now? Tennessee is kind of in
the middle of the pack team and so I don't
know what to what degree they have resources. But if

(01:06:35):
this is such a bad thing a great school, why
would a great school like Tennessee where their stadium holds
about a hundred and ten thousand Rocky Top it's like
Michigan or Cover the Wolverines. For many years, the Big
House most to go back and forth. They had a
few seats every year to see which is the bigger stadium.
But if Tennessee is now in the mix, Okay, now

(01:06:56):
you've got to ask yourself, what are George, what's Georgia
gonna do? And what may Alabama do if they decide
they want to crank this up? Because Tennessee, much like
UH Texas A and M's n i L Amplify program,
has deals for housing, car rentals, car washes, free meals,

(01:07:17):
car maintenance. And it's my understanding that some other athletes
have also gotten six six figure deals. So this is
a new world, and frankly, it's not so new anymore.
And we're still in the first year, but it's been
a long year, and I guess maybe people are having
a hard time up close and personal seeing what's always

(01:07:40):
sort of been there out in the open. All right,
there's big money for these kids, and I think it's
always been there, maybe not to this degree, but make
no mistake, And this is frankly just the starting point
for n i L deals across college sports. What might
it look like a year from now? And and look,
there's other schools that have been very creative. Okay, because

(01:08:00):
the world of college recruiting has changed changed dramatically, starting
July first next year, when even our first year anniversary,
and that's when the n c A basically enacted the
rule to allow college athletes to profit from their name,
image and likeness. You remember, the inns enacted this rule
and basically almost overnight, you know, athletes who previously had
been restricted to just getting stipends and living on their

(01:08:23):
scholarship meal money, cafeteria meal tickets and such, all of
a sudden they could sign endorsement deals and the floodgates
open faster than you could imagine. And although plenty of
college players have signed big deals, there's a lot to
have signed very smaller deals with local businesses. And the
truth of the matter is that it's all part of

(01:08:45):
the same an i LL umbrella, whether you're getting. I'll
give you an example. Okay, b y U football hasn't
an I L deal. It's a hundred and thirty six
thousand dollars plus tuition. And what they've done, they've made
a deal with a protein ball are called built bar.
What does it mean? All one and thirty six b
y U football players, that includes all scholarship players and

(01:09:08):
walk ons can earn to a thousand dollars is brand
ambassadors for the Built Bar, which you've probably seen in
in stores and the deal again again, they're they're they're
they're giving them money to walk on student's kind of
across the board. That's what I think some people might
have had in mind more than the three point five
million dollar deals. Eric was talking about this receiver who

(01:09:30):
transferred and I'm gonna tell I'm gonna give a college
football preview next week and I'm gonna I'm gonna talk
about that. Um, but think about that. So you're a
football player at US at two B y U. Everybody
on the team, there's aren't thirty six guys in the roster.
They don't all travel, they don't all play, most don't
have scholarships, many are walk ons, but all of them
can be a brand ambassador for bill Bar. They get
about thousand dollars each. Okay, Uh, You've got a couple

(01:09:56):
of quarterbacks at Florida State. Both of them got um
D n i L deals. They joined a company called
dream Field. They have their co founders and it's basically
an n i L based platform that focuses on on
booking live events for student athletes. And what they do
is they charged two thousand an hour for these events.
The offensive lineman at Texas the Old Line, a nonprofit organization,

(01:10:22):
will give five or check that, fifty thousand dollars to
each of Texas sixteen offensive linement even if they're on scholarship,
with the twist being the players must use the funds
to support charitable causes. There's a twist. Miami University of Miami,
a line of fitness centers in South Florida, is offering
every Miami football player five dollars per month to endorse

(01:10:46):
the Jim Creative. That total deal could be as high
as five grand, again spread among the players. And of
course then there's Bryce Young, who we believe got over
eight hundred grand. He signed with cash app and uh
and did some deals with some trading card companies Leaf
and wild Card. I believe it before we ever started

(01:11:08):
the game for Alabama and making Bruce Young's studies terrific.
He'll be a first round draft choices next year. That's
one that has really worked out and uh oh, by
the way, case you missed it, Bryce Young went on
to win the Heisman Trophy and the Alabama to the
National Championship game. Kleb Williams, who's transferred to USC. I
don't have any details of his n I L deal,
but I understand he signed multiple deals, including with Beats

(01:11:31):
by Dre and Fanatics those are big time organizations, and
a long term agreement with a company called Hawkins Way Capital,
which is a private equity firm in real estate. Don't
I believe all these to be true? This is what
my understanding is. It's not just football lady by the
name of Olivia Done. She got a million dollar deal
at LSU Gymnastics because she signed with an active wear

(01:11:54):
brand call Vieri. And apparently she's got a huge social
media presence with four than more than fimily and followers,
and she'll make you know, appearances on behalf of the company.
And then, of course I told you about quinn Ewers, right.
He jumped at the chance to profit from n I L.
He left high school year early in Texas to enrolled
Ohiuse State and signed a huge deal with GT Sports

(01:12:15):
Marketing to provide autographs a million dollars. Did he even
start at Ohio State ends up transferring to Texas? Coming up,
coming up, we got more stuff including you know what
Patrick Beverley now I don't know if he was auditioning
for a TV gig or a radio gig, but I

(01:12:38):
will tell you he popped and he got a lot
of people's attention. I'll tell you what he did earlier
in the week by calling out a guy who will
probably be a first ballot Hall of Famer although he's
made three million dollars in his career and never want
a damn thing. I'll tell you all about that. Coming up,
I'm Bernie Fratto or coming to your life in the
Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Keep it locked right here.
You're listening to Fox Sports Sunday and Fox Sports Radio.

(01:13:00):
All right back on Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio
and Bernie Frattle come to your live in the Las
Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming up top of the hour,
another rousing edition of what kind of brand new fool
are you? Of course, followed by what my name? Is?
Still a lot to get to in the show. I
mentioned it earlier. John Gruden is back in the news,

(01:13:22):
will tell you what's happening this upcoming week. The Lakers
coaching situation is still undecided. I've got three names. I
think it's gonna be one of these three. So got
Chris Perfet's World of Soccer and a lot lot more
to get to. Uh, but earlier this week, and this
was just one of those weeks where you put some

(01:13:43):
by a microphone and and uh about a being bought
a boom. Here we go. They're often running. You know,
you can buy dance lessons, but you can't buy rhythm.
And whether or not these comments resonated with people didn't matter.
They were talked about. And I'm sure Clippers fans you
all know about Patrick Beverly, and Patrick Beverly is an

(01:14:04):
interesting guy, and uh, if he's on your team, you
probably love him. If you play against him, maybe not
so much. And I guess at the end of the day,
the real question is how you know, how seriously can
you really take Pat Beverlely. Well, I think if you're
a Chris Paul fan you might have taken him seriously.
There's an old joke, there's an old saying, Uh, how

(01:14:25):
did it go like this? Pat bev tricky? Y'all? Man, Well,
that's exactly what. Now he plays for the Timberwolves. Now,
of course I know he's not with the Clippers anymore,
but he was and uh, you know, he went on.
He went on another four letter network last Monday, and man,

(01:14:46):
he he came on like thirty yards of garlic and
his his intended target one Chris Paul. Yeah, I'm telling you,
Beverly spent hours trashing Paul. Now, obviously Paul did it again.
He's faded down the stretch. The Sun has had a
devastating seven game series lost to the Mavericks in the

(01:15:08):
Western Conference Finals. And I don't want to hear that.
Paul's thirty seven. He he did it when he was
twenty seven. But Beverley went pretty far. He said, quote,
Paul can't guard and everyone knows that, you know. He
he called him a cone. You know, if you've ever
been driving down the road, you know you have, and

(01:15:30):
there's road construction, sees orange cones. That's what he meant.
He's like a cone. He said. They're there, motionless placeholders. Right.
He says Chris Paul couldn't guard a cone. Um, that's
not true. I think Chris Paul did once play a
cone in one on one and I think they went overtime.
But that's a story for a different day. But once again,

(01:15:50):
much the same way as when we talked about Saban
and Jimble Fisher. It's not what was said, it's how
was the reaction, what was the discourse? And I mean
it was all over the airwaves. It was fodder. It
was fantastic. It was delicious. Uh. And this is one
of those weeks too. You know JJ Reddick called Bob Couzy,

(01:16:14):
Well you know about that. Let me stick to Pat
Patrick Beverly. So there are some folks who actually believe
Beverly might have won himself a media job after his
playing days are over based on his performance Monday. He's
comfortable in his own skin. He clearly enjoyed being there.
It made for great TV. Okay, I don't know if
you want himself a media job, that's a one shot deal,

(01:16:37):
all right. If you're going to be in this business,
you gotta be able to get up and do it
every day. And he's reacting against the guy who he
probably doesn't like a whole hell of a lot personally anyway.
But it was also sort of rich watching Beverly because
he's always been a great role player. When you're when

(01:16:57):
you've got a role player that's criticizing of probably a
first ballot Hall of Famer about losing in a playoff
series when Beverly's team lost her on earlier. Hey, you
know that's that you can't factor this in without making
that part of the conversation. Let's think back a year ago.
Chris Paul's sons were blowing out Beverly's Clippers and in
Phoenix's Uh. They clinched it in six games in the

(01:17:20):
Western Conference semifinals, and Patrick Beverly got ejected for shoving
Chris Ball in the back with five minutes left of
the game. Yeah, some people might have kind of left
out that part. By the way, former NBA player Matt Barnes,
who knows a thing or two, was actually a very
good media savvy uh. He's part of the wish Booker now.

(01:17:44):
Pat Matt Barnes is good on TV and radio. He
took to the gear waves and and very much defended
Chris Paul. He said, you know, there's a fine line
between being criticized and being critical and disrespecting, and I
feel like what Pat Beverly did today to Chris Paul
was completely disrespectful and not a line. Even Damian Lillard

(01:18:04):
he clapped back too. He said Paul has plenty respect
around the League. The truth of the matter is Beverly's
stock and trade. There's nothing wrong with this man. We
all got to eat his His real skill is making
people piste off, making people angry on the court, and
apparently now he's proven he can do it off the

(01:18:26):
court as well. Now, I'm not a cynical person, but
if I were cynical, I would also like to point
out that Patrick Beverly helped the other four letter network
create its own news cycle, which is now not only
gone past twenty four hours, it's gone almost a full week.
So you got to give a little credit where credits

(01:18:47):
to Pat Beverly made the news cycle coming up. Yes,
another rounding, rollicking addition of what my name and what
kind of brand new fool you keep it locked right here?
This is Bernie Fratto. This is Fox Sports Sunday, Fox
Sports Radio. The Fox Sports Sunday train keeps rolling right along.

(01:19:10):
Three down, one to go. I'm Bernie Fraddle. Come to
your life from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios.
We will take you up to three am. We've got
lots of business three and Pacific six am Eastern, lots
of business to get to. So let's get right to
it it's at this time every week? Yes, yes, what
do we do? Well? You know, every day and every

(01:19:33):
week is the weeks and days and time go by
on the calendar. Not just in these United States, but
everywhere around the world. People do things that leave you
just completely scratching your head that we chronicle in a
little segment we affectionately call what kind of brand new
fool you? What kind of brand new? Yeah, this one

(01:20:00):
takes us to sunny southern California, where I lived for
many years. And you know, they say criminals always returned
to the scene of the crime, but a dumb knucklehead
California bank robber didn't even wait one full day before
he came back to the scene of the crime, which
happened to be the bank branch he allegedly knocked over. Yeah.

(01:20:20):
I got the name a Sam Brown. In his early thirties.
He was busted after he tried to rob the scene
Chase Bank in Fountain Valley two days in a row.
Sam resides in San Diego, and he took off with
quote a large amount of cash after he slipped a
stick up note to the teller at the Chase Bank
in Fountain Valley, which was reported later in a news release.

(01:20:44):
But apparently the doe wasn't enough for Brown, because he
came back to get a second by of the apple
the very next day. The very next morning, tried to
rob the bank again. This time police arrived around eleven
am arrested him without incident. Well, by the way, Brown,
he's got a body of work and not standing, a
rest warrant and a rap sheet longer than a mic

(01:21:05):
trot home run then included previous robbery convictions. In San Diego,
he was held on bail. I guess you didn't go
back a third day because he couldn't. All I gotta say,
is Sam, what kind of brand new fool are you? Marcianos?
You're up all right? Well, listen, I I get when

(01:21:26):
you order some food from, you know, a fast food chain,
and they might mess it up. But I don't throw
a fit. I don't start throwing cups. And I'm also
not chuerking on my way out. But apparently that's what
you do in Florida. In Polk County, Tiana's Jones twenty
two is facing several charges after deputy says she's stormed

(01:21:48):
inside a fast food restaurant McDonald's around five thirty and
became enraged after her online order was messed up. She
at the end, she throws cups. At the end, she
lips her shirt off to show her belly and literally
twerks her way out. She has been arrested. And the
best part is that the officer or the sheriff that

(01:22:09):
did the story is so funny. All of her quotes
are McDonald's quotes. So she's like, I don't know why
this woman got as angry as she was, But as
a saying goes, she's a few fries short of a
happy meal, mama. So you're you're good at this Monsey.
Oh thank you. When you start. When you started out

(01:22:31):
with the turking in the fair food, I thought you
were going to talk about Miley Cyrus. Oh no, no,
I thought you were going a little Hannah Montana there.
I love Hannah Montana. Stop it. She can be no wrong. Alrighty, then, well,
did I ever tell you about the time they screwed
up my flurry over at dairy Queen? No, I didn't
do anything, man, I just sucked it up. All right,

(01:22:52):
Good stuff, Monsey, You're good at this game, all right.
Christopher fet you're up all right, Bernie. We're taking you
over to Japan to a little town named Dabu. Uh. So,
we have here a wonderful story as city officials putting
together a financial aid package for low income residents hit

(01:23:12):
hard by the COVID nineteen you know, pandemic going across
the world. He was supposed to be a one hundred
thousand yen COVID nineteen financial package handing out to four
hundred and sixty three local households, well a res A
member of the of the city officials made a mistake
and sent the entire four hundred point excuse me, forty

(01:23:35):
six point three million yen that's about three three hundred
sixty thousand U S. Dollars to one person at the
top of the list. His name is Show Tagucci. He
is an unemployed man twenty four years old, and he
had this massive financial windfall. And in spite of the
mistake of the officials, Show here happens to be the fool.

(01:23:56):
Because Show you, you would imagine getting this kind of
giant lump sum of money would be either a great windfaller,
you would assume someone has made a mistake. Well, Show
didn't do that show to Gucci. Instead, however, went out
and apparently spend it, moved it all out of his
account and started to spend it on overseas online casinos.

(01:24:17):
Police uh you know, approached approach to Gucci. As soon
as the mistake was uncovered. The approached the man and
asked him to return the money. And then so town
officials asked him to to basically help walked into the
bank and said, hey, you know, we need you to
return this money. Uh quote, I won't do it today.
All the funds have been transferred to other accounts. I
cannot return the money back to the original account. I

(01:24:39):
will make amends for my crime. So, after a while
of cajoling, of trying to figure out where the money
has gone, uh no surprise here, showed to Gucci was
arrested on May eighteen for suspicions of computer of computer fraud.
I think my head just exploded. That's a lot of

(01:25:00):
money to lose on gambling. I think I think my
head just exploded. Oh but that's why we call this.
What kind of brand new fool? Are you? Okay? Eric Kemp,
you're your term of my friend. We're gonna go to
the country of Brazil here Bernie and hush, little baby,
don't say a word, and never mind that noise you heard.

(01:25:21):
We go to a Metallica concert in Brazil where a
woman who you know, big Metallica fan, apparently because she
went thirty nine weeks pregnant to the Metallica concert and
she had a baby right there in the concerts. The
baby um was born into the world uh in uh

(01:25:42):
during the song enter Sandman. Um. So more lucky fool
than just kind of straight foolish. But I don't know.
She's thirty nine weeks pregnant and she had this to say,
I'm great physically and trying to understand how this happened.
Thank you for everyone's love and concern. I don't know
how this happened, your thirty nine week pregnant. You just
Talica concert. I mean, I don't know if that's quite

(01:26:06):
you know, baby inducing type of music, but like that's
that's essentially what happened there. Um I'm talking concert is
no hospital, that's for sure. Good stuff tonight, man. You
know that's that's interesting. The Tallica concert in Brazil seven
months Okay, that's good. You know, that's that's all good.

(01:26:28):
Ones and and you know, I actually got into a
debate that real quickly before we flip over to what
my name? You know, let me go around the crew
were quickly. Let me ask you a question. What weighs
more ten pounds of bricks or ten pounds of feathers?
Christ poer fet what weighs more ten pounds of bricks
or ten pounds of feathers? I am assuming this is

(01:26:51):
a this is a question I slept through while I
was in high school physics. I'm assuming the bricks are
more dense, though, Well, well, just what weighs more? Well
they're ten pounds of ten pounds, so okay, so you say,
you say, okay, uh, Monsey, what weighs more ten pounds
of bricks or ten pounds of feathers? Chris said, they're
the same pounds. That's right, that's right, Uh Eric, what

(01:27:14):
weighs more ten pounds of bricks or ten pounds of feathers?
It's got to be the feathers, because you have to
deal with the weight of what you did to those birds. Terble.
Nicely done, nicely done. So see, that's kind of a
mental um mind. I don't want to say the word
I'll get in trouble. All right, never mind. See, I
think ten browns and bricks weigh more, because I'll tell
you why. If you had the choice to be dumping

(01:27:35):
ten pounds of bricks on your head or ten pounds
of feathers on your head, which would you choose? Right,
You're no fool. What kind of brand new fool? You're
gonna choose the feathers not the bricks, So they must
weigh more. See, I'm no dummy. I went to high
school the full six years. I'm no dropout. All right,
let's move along, another rousing edition. Great job everybody, that
is that is? That is? What kind of brand new

(01:27:57):
fool you? America? Only gotta wait another hundred and six
seven hours and forty five minutes for another edition next week.
But we move along. The second most favorite dance sensation
sweep sweep in the nation is something we also lovingly
call what my name? Okay, we got we got quite
a few tonight. We got to let's sefore we got

(01:28:17):
four names tonight? All right? All right, an honor of
the NHL Playoffs, I'll give you a little phenomenon, you know,
in in the in NHL history, there have been nine
goalies goalies. Nine goalies to have scored a goal in
an NHL game. I am the only goalie to score
two goals in an NHL game. Christoph Fette what my name? Oh,

(01:28:43):
not not Bobby Or I know that. I'm sorry. By
the way, Bobby Or was a defenseman, not a goalie.
All right. In the history of the NHL, nine goalies
have scored a goal. I'm the only goalie who have
scored two. Monter Blogs what my name? I don't know.
I'm gonna guess Jonathan Quick. Now that's that's gating, said
your King's fan coming sick with it on a Jonathan

(01:29:05):
Quick for effort. I am sorry the judges cannot allow
Italie answer there that I gotta well, we're making progress.
That never now, you never know, Eric, Eric KMP might
might come come big, come up big here, all right, Eric.
Nine goalies in the history of the NHL have scored
a goal. I'm the only one who have scored. To
Eric Camp what my name? I firmly believe he should

(01:29:27):
be on the back of the Colorado quarter. I think
it's my boy. Patrick law Oh. I love Patrick wah Oh.
I love that dude man. All those years and Chris
will remember this when the Colorado Avalanche the Detroit Red
Wings went at it like the hat feels in the quais.
It's actually former New Jersey Hall of mart Han Broder.
Martin Broder. Maybe you heard that name? All right, good stuff,

(01:29:50):
all right, let's move along in honor the NBA plufs.
On this day in X, I hit a game winning
shot to eliminate Magic Johnson and the Lakers out of
the playoffs. Monter Belongs. What my name? I don't know.

(01:30:13):
It's all good, this is all fun. We all get
the home version of the game, all right. On this day,
I hit the game winning shot to knock the Lakers
out of the playoffs and Magic Johnson. Chris poper Fette,
what my name? Uh, Larry Bird, I'm sorry, okay. On

(01:30:37):
this day I hit the game winning shot to beat
Magic Johnson and knocked him out of the playoffs and
the Lakers. Eric king Camp, I'm sorry. What's my name?
What my name? I know? This is wrong. We we're
gonna stick with Denver Sports. Let's go with my boy
out it's English, not a bad one. I think he
might have been retired. Boy. I'll tell you what We're
gonna do this one again. I'm gonna give us everybody

(01:30:57):
a clue. This team is based in Texas. This team
is based in Texas, and the person who did it
had had quite a career, very a lot of notoriety,
and he was very tall. On this day six, I
had the game winning shot to knock Magic Johnson the
Lakers out of the playoffs. Mont Belan's what my name?
Charles Barkeley, get in closer, getting closer, Hey for effort.

(01:31:23):
On this day, I hit the game winning shot to
knock Magic Johnson the Lakers out the playoffs. I played
for a team based in Texas. Chris pop Fett what
my name? Uh, Probably not gonna get us. Let's go
with mckembe Matumbo. He said, not bad night, Okay, not yes, Okay.
He's about that height. So you got a few clues here, Eric.
On this date, I hit the game winning shot to
beat the Lakers, and Magic Johnson knocked him out of

(01:31:44):
the playoffs. Came the dream of La Juan oh Man.
You had the right franchise. Wrong player was Ralph Sampson.
Actually he didn't go to Houston. He went to Virginia. Wait,
it's all good, it's all yeah, I'm not trying to
be that guy. I'm not trying. I'm not trying to
be that guy, even though I just was that guy. Okay,

(01:32:07):
moving along, having all kinds of fun here, all right.
On Thursday, the opening round the p g A, this
is just two days ago, three days ago. For my snacks,
I had twenty one cigarettes, twelve died cokes, and six
bags of Eminem's while playing and the p GA. On Thursday,

(01:32:28):
Mons belongs what my name? Oh my gosh story Wow
Bubba Watson boy with that skinny frame, if he could
eat like that? All right, good guests, not him, not Babba.
On Thursday, the opening round with the p g A.
For my snacks, I had twenty one cigarettes, twelve died cokes,

(01:32:50):
and six bags of Pini and Eminem's. Chris Perfette went
my name, Me and Eric are gonna tag team this one.
You ready one? Got it? Three? John Daily, nicely done, nice,
nice harmony there too, excellent extra point some cookies out
of petty cash. Although I'm still trying to get clarification.

(01:33:12):
You know those bags M and m'shere, they just like
the little small, tiny, uh you know, venting machine variety
where they're the Sam's Club Industrials, drink size, there's it's
John Day. They got to give him the full size bag,
king size peanut butter. I love John. Have you seen
John Day lately? He's a legend, man, Dude, he's a legend.
But if he if he was an in shorter, he'd

(01:33:33):
be a perfect circle. I was gonna say, he's just
led him so. And by the way, he's one of
the most talent. I went to their masters in walk
the course, followed him for a couple of us. He's
got as much talent as anybody who ever played the game.
I mean it, man, he could crush it off the
tea and touch around the green. John Daly, Rogers, Arkansas,
you've done yourself a lot and proud. I love you, man,

(01:33:54):
so real quick, real quick, if I may. His son
is already carrying on the tradition John Daily the second,
you know playing college golf at Arkansas, and we were
talking about n I l earlier. You will be pleased
to know that he has signed an endorsement deal with Hooters.
All right, how about Marlboro. I think that's a little

(01:34:14):
about Marborough. On the tradition of John Dailey's debauchery. There hooters, dinner,
and a show. What do you know? All right? Finally
last one. All right, this is a good one, and
I'll give you a little clue. Okay, this is a
gentleman who played his professional basketball where you, folks, near
where you live. So nineteen sixty nine, my team lost

(01:34:36):
in the NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics, but I
became the only m v P of the playoffs, the finals,
MVP on the losing team, mont belongs what my name? Oh,
that's tough. Um, I don't even know who they played
the Celtics. Maybe somebody on the Celtics. Well they actually yeah,

(01:34:58):
they lost to the Celtic. So it's all right, it's
all right. These are meant to be tough. These are
meant to stretch our brains here, all right, nine NBA Finals.
My team lost to Boston, but I became the only
player in NBA history to be the m v P
of the finals, even though I always on the losing side.
Chris Prefet, what my name? I'm gonna take a stab.
I don't think he played out West, but Dr J

(01:35:20):
Julius serving, I'm sorry. We'll see if Derek Kent can
say the day I was the m v P of
the Finals in nixt nine on the losing team, the
only player in his dy in the history of the
NBA to do that, Eric Kemp, what my name? It's
only because I watched winning time there and it's there.
You go. Nicely done, everybody, nicely done. Speaking of the Lakers,

(01:35:50):
I think they're gonna make their one or two things
are gonna happen. We're gonna land a man on Mars
or the Lakers are gonna pick their next head coach.
But I've got three names that I think it should be.
If it's one of these three, the Lakers have a
chance to make the playoffs next year. No they don't.
I don't. I don't think they do. But nonetheless, if
they make this higher one of these three hires, I

(01:36:11):
think they will be on the path maybe to do better,
get a ninth place trophy like Meet the Fockers. Coming up,
we'll get right to that. I'm Bernie Fratto. We're coming
to live in the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Keep it locked right here. You're listening to Fox Sports
Sunday and Fox Sports Radio. Back on Fox Sports Sunday,
Fox Sports Radio and Bernie Freddo Company Alive from the

(01:36:32):
Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio studios right after Mons's updated
bowed to the hour, Christopher Fette and the world of soccer. Yes,
we're in a World Cup year. Lots of stuff to
talk about later in the show. I will get to
what's gonna happen with Jon Gruden Tuesday. I'll let you know.
The Lakers haven't hired a coach yet, and uh, I'm

(01:36:55):
gonna give you three names that I think it will
be one of these three. And I have no idea
how they'll do next year, but they better get the
better get the stepping on this Okay. Number one in
my view, a guy who think that who deserves a
chance another chance is Darvin Ham right right now. He's
he's an assistant in Milwaukee. He's he's close to fifty

(01:37:16):
years old, He's got eleven years of NBA experience. He's
been a runner up for a lot of coaching jobs
in recent years, and the sense around the league that
it's just a matter of time until he's a head coach,
and he checks a lot of boxes for the Lakers.
Why would he he has ties to the franchise. Ham
was an assistant coach from eleven to thirteen. He's a
former NBA player with championship experience as a player with

(01:37:39):
the Old four Detroit Pistons, a team I covered, and
he was an assistant coach last year in Milwaukee one.
And he's a very personalb guy. He connects well with players.
He he's a tactician. I think it's very respected and
he's kind of like, you know, if you want a
a an example, he's kind of off the uh, off

(01:38:02):
the tree of the Gregg Popovich Mike Budenholzer coaching tree.
And I think that the reason I think Ham should
be the number one candidate is he would have the
respect to the locker room. Right. He's a good guy,
but he's a tough guy. He's a blue collar veteran.
He there's no question, ask your honest, you're honest. He
helped develop your honest. He worked with Kobe Bryant, he

(01:38:24):
worked with Dwight Howard, Paul Gasol, Steve nash, Al Horford.
He's got a fairly imposing presence. I haven't heard any
player ever say anything bad about him. He's a first
year candidate. Okay, that's the rub. But and he's never
won a playoff game. Because everybody head coach but Darvin
Ham checks a ton of other boxes. Now here's a
guy who's one three playoff games. The problem is he's

(01:38:47):
lost forty four, but he's won five games in his
coaching uh experience, and that's Terry Stotts. He's probably considered
a retread, but he's an appealing option. Listen under under starts.
The trip Lazers made the Western Conference Finals routinely. They
won fifty plus games multiple times. They made the postseason
eight of his nine seasons. They always had a top

(01:39:09):
ten offense, a top five offense, that type of thing.
The Blazers just hit their ceiling. In large part they
had limitations of the roster construction, they had health issues.
But Stotts has a lot of offensive expertise that could
help spice up the Lakers in that bland, stinky offense
last year that couldn't you know, score not. In my view,

(01:39:30):
Stotts has experience with both pick and roll heavy actions,
and I think the Lakers you might see some more
intricate offensive sets next year which Stots could create, could create.
Now they would have to surround him with some proper
defensive support because the Blazers were not a good defensive team.
So there's pros and constole, all these guys and a
third one. I don't think his name has come up

(01:39:51):
all right, Charles Lee. He's also a Milwaukee Bucks assistant
coach eight years NBA experience. You don't win the cham
without strong coaching, and Charles Lee, along with Darvin Haam,
was part of a great Bucks bench. Now he hasn't
received as much buzz as Darvin Ham because Charles Lee
didn't play in the NBA and he hasn't been interviewing

(01:40:13):
from any coaching vacancies. But you can make a pretty
strong case he was. He was the runner up in
New Orleans and Washington last season. He's considered an elite
coaching prospect. So maybe you get a guy who's an
up and comer because he's a shrewd, smart tactical guy.
But his strock and trade emotional intelligence with players that's
gonna be very much needed in l A. So and

(01:40:35):
by the way, this is kind of cool. Charles Lee
was also a Wall Street trader. He believes that gives
him kind of a unique advantage as a communicator. The
bottom line is he's one of those guys who lives
the power of positivity, coaches the same way. And let's
say the Lakers need that, So give me Darvenham, Terry
Stotts or Charles Lee and the Lakers have a shot.

(01:40:55):
Although I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath coming up Chris
Prefet's world aside. But first we go back to the
inimitable Monster Bolognos with the latest. Oh yes, it was
all Mooky Betts last night for the Dodgers as they
came back to beat the Philly seven, four all on
the Dodgers Radio Network, and you can kiss this one goodbye.

(01:41:17):
Got a tie all game And for Mookie Betts home
run number nine and for Bets now he has scored
nine times in the last eight games. He not only homered,
he doubled, singled, drove in three runs, and throughout the
potential go ahead run at the plate in the seventh inning.
The Dodgers have the best record in the National League
at twenty seven and twelve. The Angels beat the A's,

(01:41:39):
they snapped a four game losing streak and Mike trout
Hit scored his one thousand run, while the Padres beat
the Giants two to one in San Francisco with the
Manni Machado solo home run. The Diamondbacks beat the Cubs
in ten inning, seven six, and the Yankees beat the
White Sox seven to five. D J. Le Mayhew hit
his second career Grand Slam. There was a battle in Texas,
as the Astros edged out the Rangers two to one.

(01:41:59):
Pitch your Justin Verlander is now six and one for
the season. The Twins had a four run ninth inning
to beat the Royals nine two, and the Blue Jays
beat the Reds. The Mets and the Rockies splits their doubleheader,
and the Brewers beat the Nationals five to one. The
big game in the NBA the Heat and the Boston Celtics.
Somebody had to win Game three, and it was the
Heat one oh nine to one oh three. Bama at

(01:42:20):
a Bio who averaged eight points the first two games
of the series had thirty one points, ten rebounds, six assists,
and four steals. Heat starred Jimmy Butler. He did not
play in the second half because of meat inflammation. There
has been no further update on his status. Game four
will be on Monday and in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Avalanche did beat the St. Louis Blues to take

(01:42:41):
a two one series lead in the second round of
the Western Conference. Back to you, Bernie, Monty, great job tonight,
great energy, Thank you you too. All right, that is
Monty Belongos and I believe she'll be with the h
I believe you'll be uh the rest of the evening
with with Brian no and Andy Firman as well. Oh yes,
I will be here. Who needs sleep? Not me? And

(01:43:06):
on that note, I'll tell you who also maybe he
doesn't need sleep either because he's used to shift. Let's
go up to Christopers Fit at this time every week,
it's the world of soccer and it listen, there's a
lot of meat on the bone. Soccer is one of
the most is the most popular support in the world,
and we are in a World Cup year. Chris, what
do you got this week? Sleep til cutter, all energy, drinks,

(01:43:27):
all monster. So let's start. However, though, Bernie, uh, this
is the final week of the domestic league's Premier League
Syria Bundesliga, all across Europe. Everyone gets to play on Sunday.
It's a huge day and there's two titles coming down
to the line. Plus, I want to talk about a
player that has sent shock waves across Europe with his decision.

(01:43:49):
But first let's start with the domestic league. We always
want to give love to the Premier League. It's the biggest,
It is the league that everyone has their eyes on
in England. The title comes down on the final to
Manchester City in Liverpool. One point separates the Manchester City.
All they really have to do at this point, Bernie,
to win the title is either win or draw against

(01:44:09):
as their opponent Aston Villa on Sunday, Liverpool. They they
need to win and they need Manchester City to lose
if they want to overcome and stay in play for
the quadruple, because they'll be playing in the Champions League
Final here coming up next Saturday as well. Quadruple. If
they win all those crowns, it's a legend for Liverpool.

(01:44:31):
But Manchester City in the driver's seat here Liverpool taking
on Wolverhampton, Manchester City taking on aston Villa. Meanwhile, I
think I mentioned a few times we've talked relegation. One
match to keep your eye on here in England is
going to be Arsenal and Everton. Great story from Everton.
This week they managed to u in the middle of

(01:44:52):
the week they played, they won a match which actually
moved them out of the relegation zone. Fans stormed the
field old Um, just chaos and bedlam there as Everton
will remain in the top flight of of of English soccer.
And I believe Nottingham Forest is very close to coming
up to Selby. They moved Nottingham Forest moved on towards promotion,

(01:45:15):
so very very cool stories for some of the some
of the old clubs. Meanwhile, I think the final point
of relegation comes down to leads in Burnley, so one
of these clubs is going down. Keep an eye on
those matches. And I'd be remiss if I did not
mention Italy. I love the Italian leagues. I've grown up
watching the Italian leagues since the days of Francesco Toddy.

(01:45:38):
It's coming down the final day between the two Milans,
between Internazionale and A C Milan A Milan. All they
need is I believe, a point. All they need is yeah,
All they need is a point, just one point, win
or draw, and they will win the scudetto the shield
the Italian title. Intero however, with the Milan loss can

(01:46:00):
overcome and but I mean if Milan loses, interwins, Milan
can overcome it. So I got two titles on the
final day here this Sunday all very exciting across Europe.
It is good stuff. And if you follow how significant
this relegation is. Uh, this game at Emirates Stadium Sunday

(01:46:22):
is is the goods. I mean imagine if, like you know,
the pottery has had to play the Cincinnati Reds and
the loser was relegated to triple It's really what it is.
You know what I get to kick Everton right there.
They're they're their their team mascot, the Toffees. Yeah all
about what the hell? Well, it sounds delicious. I love
toffee and about you know, that's my point. Yeah, exactly,

(01:46:45):
it sounds delicious. But what they have to do with soccer, Chris,
good stuff? All we've got. Sorry, I've got one more
story for you if you've got time, Bernie, go ahead,
all right, So as I'm as I teased there, I
want to talk about killing him bop a. We've talked
a lot about Paris and Germaine to start the year.
It's been it's been disappointing for them. They always get
to run France, but they had hopes on the Champions League.
It did not work out. Um clock is ticking for PSG.

(01:47:09):
I know we had earlier this week the news that
Lionel Messi is gonna play one more year at PSG,
then he's gonna come over state side. He's gonna be
playing for Inter Miami and get a thirty like share
of the of the club. But Imbob is the next
big piece that was gonna fall out, and uh a
lot of drama as Embopa, who looked to be a
surefire signing for Real Madrid in Spain, suddenly turns them

(01:47:33):
down and returns to Paris Saint Germain for an unspeakable
king's ransom. I think close to when all said and done,
six hundred million euros deal, a hundred million a year
salary after tax and a three hundred million signing bonus,
and Madrid is you know, soccer royalty. They are spurned.

(01:47:55):
They are angry to the point where I think La
Liga is actually suit like complaining to WAIFA. It might
be filing uh suit here because to their and I
mean they make a great point here that Paris Saint
Germain reported seven hundred million in losses last year and
somehow has six hundred million to sign in Boby. It's

(01:48:16):
it's it's a massive shot across the world and Bob
is one of the greatest players out there right now.
It looked almost certain he would be going to Real
Madrid and giving that hallowed club there up, and instead
he's gonna be coming back to Paris Saint Germain. Well,
and here's why I think Real Real Madrid is so embarrassed,
because who is Embobby going to replace Christiano Ronaldo? That's right,

(01:48:39):
Christianna Ronaldo. I think it's just as well because I
don't think you knew how to spell embopy in the
back of his jersey. Too many continants in a row. Yeah, well,
Real Madrid has been pushing the line now that it's
like it's the club is bigger than any individual person.
And to their credit, like Madrid is in the Champions
League final here on Saturday, they're not hurting at all.
They've got great stars like Rene bends them, but Imbob

(01:49:01):
would have put them in a class of their own,
so I get why they're spurned. Transfer transfer window is
going to open up after the seasons, and we'll have
plenty of rumors to talk about next time we go
to the World of soccer. All right, good stuff, Chris,
World of Soccer. This is a World Cup year, and
sooner rather than later we'll be talking about the United
States and their quest to win a World Cup, you know,

(01:49:21):
kind of like the lines in their quest to win
a Super Bowl. But I digress. Coming up, Jon Gruden
is back in the news. You're gonna want to hear this.
I'll tell you what's what. I'll tell you what up.
I'm Bernie Fradder were company alive in the Las Vegas
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Keep it locked right here. You're
listening to Fox Sports Sunday and Fox Sports Radio. All right,

(01:49:48):
back on Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio and Bernie
Freddill come to you live from the Las Vegas Fox
Sports Radio Studios. Were wrapping up the show. Before I
go any further, I want to thank my broadcast team
back in Los Angeles, turning all the dials, keeping us
glue together. They've been with me since eleven p and
Pacific On Saturday Night. That would be Eric Kemp, Chris

(01:50:11):
Perfett and Monster Beloos on the updates. All Right, Jon
Gruden is back in the news. You may recall that
back in November, John Gruden sued just a few weeks
he sued the NFL just a few weeks after the
leak of emails he sent before being hired by the
Raiders at that time to former Washington President Bruce Allen,

(01:50:32):
which forced him Miles the head coach in Las Vegas.
All Right, to Gruden, he filed the suit right here,
and Clark kind of nevad at the eighth Judicial District
Court on November twelve. He'd resigned a month earlier, on
October eleven, in the wake of the email scandal. Well, look,
the wheels of justice often moved very slowly, and but

(01:50:55):
eventually they catch up. And so the lawsuit that was
last year, it's sort of in this preliminary skirmish over
whether or not will be heard in open court or
in what you might call the clandestine rig kangaroo court
of Emperor Roger Goodell. This is what they're going to
be arguing about. See Gruden alleges glue that Roger Goodell

(01:51:18):
leaked the emails in order to force the Raiders to
push Grud out something Washington owner Dan Snyder did it
as revenge for the punishment imposed on him as a
result of another ten month investigation. It's it's really kind
of a goofy little mess here. Now, what's going to
happen here is eventually the presiding judge is going to
have to put a decision in writing as to whether

(01:51:39):
John Gruden will be able to proceed in a real court.
We must proceed in the NFL secret rid court, kangaroo
facts simile court. Roger Goodell, Emperor presiding now that that
decision will go a long way towards determining whether Gruden's
prevails and whether or not the rest of us ever
find out the truth as to how the emails ended

(01:51:59):
up being to the select media in the first place,
with the goal of forcing Gruden to step down uh
several games into the season last year. Now, this isn't
about whether Gruden should have avoided accountability for his emails. Okay, Gruden,
his shorts are not clean here, and you know that.
This is about whether accountability will be avoided for weaponizing

(01:52:21):
a supposedly secret document with the goal of taking Gruden out. See,
it's possible Gruden did something for which he deserved to
be fired, but the way it went down is dubious.
We think now oral arguments will be heard starting May.
Uh so we're in the twenty right now for me,

(01:52:44):
so it would be Wednesday, Okay, Starting Wednesday, both sides
will start to make their opening arguments in front of
a judge by the name of Nancy Alph I believe
is how you pronounce her name again. Gruden's lawsuit alleges
quote that defends selectively leaked Gruden's private correspondence to The

(01:53:04):
Wall Street Journal and The New York Times in order
to harm John Gruden's reputation force amount of his job
end quote now, Adam Hosmer Henter, an attorney for McDonald Corono,
said in his statement at the time, quote there is
no explanation or justification for why Gruden's emails were the
only one's made public out of six hundred and fifty

(01:53:25):
thousand emails collected in the NFL's investigation of the Washington
football team, or why the emails were held for months
before being released in the middle of the Raiders season.
Now here's where it gets even dice yar the NFL

(01:53:46):
on January nine, just a couple three weeks before the
Super Bowl, the NFL filed the motion to dismiss as
well as to compel arbitration. They don't want it to
go to court. They wanted to go to arbitration against
Gruden's lawsuits because Gruden is quote seeking the recovery of
money and excess of fifteen million dollars in each of

(01:54:07):
the seven causes of action, according to NFL dot com. Now.
In their motion to dismiss, according to NFL dot Com,
the NFL said the lawsuit was quote a baseless attempt
by John Gruden to blame the NFL and its commissioner

(01:54:28):
for the fallout from the publication of racist, misogynistic, and
homophormic emails that Gruden wrote and broadly circulated, and should
be dismissed for fair to state a single viable cause
of action quote adding the Gruden does not dispute what
was written in the emails, and to the extent that
John Gruden suffered any damage, he has no one to

(01:54:49):
blame but himself. Thus the complaint should be dismissed in
its entirety. I am glad I am not the judge
presiding over this. I will tell you, though, that it
does feel like if there's a cover up here, people
are not gonna sit with us. Well, so this is
going to start Wednesday. These oral arguments now, and in

(01:55:11):
the motion for the arbitration, the NFL said, quote, under
the clear terms of Gruden's employment contract and the NFL's
constitution and by laws to which Gruden is bound, arbitration
is the proper form to resolve the issue. The NFL
has also filed the motion for an order to seal, so,

(01:55:36):
on the face of it, deductive reasoning. Like I said,
I'm no high school dropout. I went to full six years.
I trust my eyes. I tell me a lot. The
NFL doesn't want people to see what's in those emails either,
And the NFL is the elephant in the room here,
which leads me to believe, which leads me to believe
if I'm taking a guess, this is gonna end up

(01:55:59):
in arbitration and not in in a regular court of law.
It's a guess. But eventually, the wheels of justice, which
grind very slowly, we're eventually going to come back. And
there was going to be a day of reckoning. So
I want to repeat again. Starting Wednesday, there will be
a hearing on whether John Gruden and his lawsuit against

(01:56:22):
the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell, whether this this action
that Gruden has brought forth will be heard through arbitration
or a full blown trial. Stay tuned, because I promise
you we will keep up and have all the updates
on this has taken place right here, not far from

(01:56:42):
where I live. Speaking of the Raiders, and now that
the two schedule has been released in terms of dates,
times order, the games are being played, whether or not
it's a Monday night game, a Thursday night game, uh,
you know, an afternoon an early game, a primetime game.

(01:57:03):
If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas, and
you might well be, and part of your itinerary involves
attending a Raiders game here at the Death Star. And
I gotta tell you, Allegia Stadium is beautiful. We have
all kinds of events here. You might be interested to
know the average Raiders home game ticket at Allegiance Stadium
this year is going for five dollars on the secondary market.

(01:57:27):
That is the most expensive in all of the NFL.
That's more than two hundred dollars, two more than the
next most expensive homesite, which happens to be Miami, where
the average Dolphins ticket is going for three seven dollars.
By the way, Los Angeles has the third and fourth
most expensive tickers with tickets, with the Chargers averaging three

(01:57:49):
one and the Ramps two bucks less in their World champs.
By the way, number five if you're scoring at home,
and I hope you are, you got the Chiefs fifth
at three fifty four. By the way, the single most
expensive game will be New Year's Day when the forty
Niners play the Raiders Allegiance Stadium New Year's Day. Average
price for a ticket that day seven hundred and seventy

(01:58:11):
seven dollars. You all drive safely now, we'll see we'll
look forward to seeing you here in Las Vegas. Sorry,
that's going to do it for this week's edition a
