Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now here's a highlight from Coast to Coast AM on iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
And welcome back to Coast to Coast George Nori with you,
Vernon mahubble Back with us, Founder and director of the
Palmistry Institute in La In nineteen seventy nine, he began
formal training in Veda cosmology, resulting in numerous trips to India.
Vernon combines Western astrological palmistry with Chinese elemental hand analysis

(00:25):
continues to explore new research. A couple of his books
include The Palmistry Cards, Talk to the Hand of Field,
Guide to Practical Palmistry, and his website is linked up
at Coast toocoastam dot com. Vernon mahobble Back on Coast
to Coast, Hey Vernon.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
How are you George? George, It's a pleasure to speak
to you again. Thank you for having me on.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
We love having you on the program. You're just a
home You're a home run every time you're on the show.
What's new with you?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I'm very happy that it is a spring and the
planets are starting, I repeat, starting to move into better
positions in some aspects. So I'm happy about that.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
This year seems to be rolling along pretty quickly too,
doesn't it.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
It seems like a really quick year. George. Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I mean we're going to be in May in another
week or so.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
I think. Also because people are so conscious of what's
going on in the world and in their personal lives,
people are just aware of the time factor.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
For the benefits of the new listeners, Vernon tell them
a little bit about yourself and how you got involved
in palmistry.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Well, palmstry is a brother or a sister to astrology,
and anything that an astrologer can see on a chart,
we can see in the hand. It's a completely different animal,
if you will. And the way we look at hands
is very different than the way astrologers look at a chart,

(02:00):
but the same information is there. And at the same time,
with palmistry you get an added edition of being able
to look at the metaphysical side and pick up the
intuitive aspects which are emanating from the hand, and that

(02:21):
can deepen the reading even more. So you can look
at the planetary aspects of what's going on in the hand,
and if you're getting psychic impressions, you can read around
the planet, so to speak. So it's very very powerful.
I think it's the most powerful system of self realization

(02:42):
or divination out there because it does combine the science
of astrology with the heart's intuition. It's very, very powerful.
But George, I got into palmistry. I think my road
began when I was seventeen, when I got a book
on palmistry. I found a book on palmistry in my

(03:04):
high school library.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Which is amazing. Some people get involved in terror. You
got involved in palmistry.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yes, exactly. And I was very lucky to meet teachers
and mentors along the way that helped me tremendously. So
I found my life purpose, I found my path, and
my goal is to help other people to find their
life path and what they're born to do.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
What is it about the palm that gives you the
ability to read their future or their destiny.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Well, the soul, our spiritual soul, the actual entity of
who we really are. It resides within the very core
of our heart, and it is that soul that is
actually generating the images and the signs and the symbols
and the configurations that are on the hand, even the

(04:03):
shapes of the fingers, the length of the fingers, that
type of thing. So when you're looking at a hand,
you're looking at let's say, the computer print out or
the GPS of the soul itself. Very very interesting.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
What does the palm say about the nature of our soul?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
George in the Vedic system sometimes called Joe Tish, that
system of astrology also has a concombinant aspect of palmistry.
And our soul resides within the most innercore of our heart,
and it is incredibly small in the material world. It

(04:49):
is one ten thousands the size of a tip of
a hair. And so if you were to cut the
upper tip portion of one hair and cut it into
one hundred pieces, and then take one of those pieces
and cut it into another one hundred pieces, one of

(05:09):
those will be the size of the soul within our heart.
Having said that, that's who we really are. The soul
is we are eternal, That soul proper is eternal. We
are also very in our pure state. We're very happy,

(05:30):
we're blissful, and we're aware because that awareness comes from
the heart. True awareness comes from the heart and not
from the brain. So the soul in Veda castrology, Veda
palmistry is called such it ananda. It is composed of
knowledge happiness and bliss and eternality, and that's who we

(05:54):
truly are beyond this material body. We are not this
material body us in it for a small amount of time.
The body is just a vehicle. So when we put
on a new shirt in the morning, we don't wear
that shirt the next day. In the same way. Every

(06:14):
let's say, eighty ninety hundred years, we get a new body,
but the soul never changes. And that's what's interesting about that.
And the soul is constantly expressing its message through the
agency of the hand and expressing also the previous lives
we've had, and that really helps a palmise to understand

(06:37):
what a person should be doing in this life, because
if you need to look at previous lives to be
able to see what the soul has been working on,
what talents they possessed in their previous life, what abilities
they were working on. And so our lives yours are
a continuum. We're moving forward from this life to the

(07:00):
next life to the next life and constantly building upon
what we have learned and what we have inculticated from
previous lifetimes.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
When you read the palm vernon what are you looking for?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
My goal as a palmist is to find out a
person's right livelihood. That's my it's always been my focus.
My focus has always been to help a person understand
what they're here to do, what they're born to do,
What is their life work, not just career but that

(07:34):
definitely plays a role, But what is our destiny? What
are we here to do? We have an individuality that's
that is very different from everyone else. In fact, that's
another aspect of the soul, in that we are eternally individuals,
and so the soul expresses its individuality through the configurations

(08:01):
and the signs on the hand. So what I look
for in my practice is that individual is destined to
do what their life mission is and of course what
their challenges are so that the person can move through them.
But that's my goal, is to help a person with

(08:25):
self realization to understand who we are beyond the body
and at the same time bring out our purified consciousness
so that we do good work in the world and
we're happy and we're fulfilled.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Is the soul God given.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
According to ayr Veda and the Veda version, we are
part and parcel of God. We have been created by God.
At the same time, we're eternal, and it's hard to understand.
In one sense, we are eternally we are we are eternal,

(09:04):
We're an eternal part and parcel of God. And at
the same time we are we are sparks of that God.
And so in this material world we forget that. And
once we realign ourselves with let's say, our spirituality, our

(09:26):
our spark becomes a fire again, we become we become happy.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
If you were to paint a picture of a soul,
or if you're capable of taking a picture of a soul,
what would it looks like.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Oh, that's a great question, George. So the New age
world is fond of saying that we're all one, and
in one sense that's half the picture. In other words,
we are all one in spiritual substance. In other words,
if you take a drop of the ocean, that that
infinitesim will drop. The ocean contains everything the rest of

(10:03):
the ocean contains, but it's not the entire ocean. The
most important thing about our soul, though, is that we
are simultaneously one and different. And in Sanskrit, in the
bug of the Gita, the ancient book of the vedas Uh,
there's a Sanskrit verse, and I'll just quickly say n

(10:24):
it's in Censrit n nityanum chaetan us cheta numb And
it means that we are simultaneously simultaneously one but different.
And what is that difference our individuality. So, just like
we have a material body which is subject to birth
and death and old age, we have a spiritual body

(10:47):
which is not subject to birth and death and disease,
but is eternal. And our soul actually is not just
a ball of energy. It has a form, just like
our body has a form. Our soul actually has a form.
We could be a boy or a girl, or a
human being or or we we have an eternal form

(11:11):
that never changes. So we're not just a ball of
energy or just some light. We are full of light.
But at the same time, we actually have a a form,
an individualistic form that is not subject to decay like
the material body. And when we realize our spiritual nature,

(11:34):
we attain that spiritual form.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
How does the soul then relate to the palm, For.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
The soul is expressing its message through the palm, and
so so our soul is our computer print out. It's
like our book. The soul is expressing, Uh, it's it's
it's it's ideas, it's it's wants, its needs, its talents,

(12:03):
its abilities through the hand. So the hand proper is
really our way of understanding what the soul is doing
in this mature world and what it wants and how
to become happy.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
How long have you believed this or have you worked on.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
This since I was twenty years old?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
How did you learn about the soul portion of this?

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Well, the interesting thing is that I studied the Vedic
system for fifteen years under a teacher, and the Vedic
system talks very much about not just palmistry in general,

(12:51):
but also our relationship with our spirituality. And in Vedic
astrology or palmistry, Veda astrology is called joe tisch and
joe tish is a Sanskrit word which means the nature
of the soul, or the light from the soul, or
the ability to understand the soul. So one of the differences,

(13:15):
although I love Western astrology just as much as I
love Vedic astrology in palmistry, but the idea here is
that we are surrounded by life. For instance, in Western astrology,
the Western astrologer will see the planets as let's say
orbs or or you know, earth, water, fire, air, just

(13:38):
like the modern scientist, but in the Vedic view, the
planets are seen as let's say, the houses, like an
astrology of the demigods and goddesses. And so when a
Vedic palmist or astrologer looks at a hand, let's say,
or a chart, they will actually look at a particular planet,

(14:02):
like let's say the moon, which is called Chandra, and
offer a prayer to Chandra and say, please give me
knowledge about this person. Tell me about the moon in
their hand or their chart. So the hand is alive,
the soul is alive, the soul is expressing. It's a
liveness through the hand, and at the same time it's

(14:24):
connected with all the planets and the signs and the
houses in the and of course greater than that the
gods and the demigods who are controlling the planets. So
we sometimes call Mother Earth Gya. And so if an
astrologer is let's say on Saturn or Pluto and they're

(14:44):
giving a reading, they may actually pray to Mother Gaia
and say, give me knowledge of this person by looking
at their hand or their astrological chart. So the soul
is full of life, and it is expressing its message

(15:05):
within our palm proper.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Our guest tonight is running Mahammel the palm breeder vernon.
Where does consciousness fit into this?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Well, that that is that is an amazing that's an
amazing study in itself. Modern academia in the Western world
will say that consciousness is a combination of material elements
that creates consciousness, and they'll they'll even say that it
is within the brain. And of course modern medical science

(15:36):
says that when the brain is you know, flatlined, we're dead.
But actually, according to the fading view, consciousness is in
the heart, not the brain. The brain is a is
the part of us that controls so much of our
logic and reason. But our true understanding, our truth. Just

(16:00):
like Statchadananda Uh, the idea of awareness, true awareness UH
comes from the heart. And that's our intuition, that's our
gut feelings, that's our psychic area. So that is our
that is consciousness. Our consciousness is our is our spiritual self,

(16:21):
our psychic self, our our intuitive self. That is true consciousness.
And the fact that the soul resides within the heart
is very telling because it's actually our heart that should
guide us if we're spiritually aware, if we're trying to
move forward spiritually, we understand that it's actually our heart

(16:42):
and our emotions that should should guide us, not logic
and reason, which just kind of gets us into trouble.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Them. You see all of.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
This absolutely, The hand for a promised is alive. It's
constantly it's it's the lines, the configurations, they're alive with
with energy and and and a palmist who's skilled at
looking at the hand is looking at an an astrological chart,

(17:15):
if you will, that's alive. So just as we move
our hands and our thumbs and we pick up things,
and we were constantly using our hands to to a
train palmist, the palm is actually a living astrological chart.
It's it's absolutely fascinating.
