Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now here's a highlight from Coast to coast AM on iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Maybe this is a little bit of a basic question.
And this is coming from, by the way, my history
as I grew up very Catholic, so all this is
very the dark side the light side, very very real
to me. This isn't just like talking about ghost to me.
This has really tappened into something that I think once
you commit to some sort of faith, you get tested
a lot, and you can see the darkness in the light.

(00:28):
It is not it is not philosophical. It is palpable.
It is real. You can tell. And I'm wondering though
for you when it comes to I don't know, people
are houses. How do you know if it's something more
than black mold or a mental disorder with the person,

(00:48):
and that there is something what crosses it over into
the demonic for you?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Oh, that's a great question, actually, because I do I
do depend on someone to do an investigation or when
I have, you know, more time, you know, locally, I
would do the investigation myself. But usually when after they've

(01:14):
when they've called me, many of them have already had
an investigating team and they've said, you know, call father,
Bob uh So. Uh, yeah, so they would kind of see.
I've had cases where it's been mold, it's been you know,
some of from faulty wiring or whatever. It gives people

(01:37):
like the sensation of being watched and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
And now I've heard that. I've heard that about phone
lines and electric lines near houses too, where when they
do investigations of things like Poultergeist, that a lot of
it can be traced to the fact that living that
close to major, big sub station electrical power can really
mess with people's minds.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Mm hmm. Absolutely. And the thing is, when you go
into an invest to investigate, you know, you're going in
to try and see if there's a rational explanation first.
So that's what you want to You want to go
in with an objective mind and not already saying Okay,

(02:24):
there's something definitely here. You want to kind of rule
out other things first.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
And and that's why we ask a lot of questions
of the clients that we have from uh, questions like
their utilities and things that.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Maybe old may be.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Faulty, also to medical issues, psychological issues, uh, family issues,
all those can just send in different directions. A case
you know. Now when this activity where there's you know,

(03:08):
people are seeing shadow figures, or you know, things are
making noise that's out of the ordinary, or people are
seeing uh, you know whatever, or things you know fly
off the shelf, off the table and things like that,

(03:29):
then that's what they Then.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
There's uh, it's more than electrical Listen. I don't want
this to sound funny, but I almost think people are
misusing you in a way. If I knew that you
had this sort of service before ever bought a house,
I think I want you to check it out and
say this one's this is clear of like Indian burial
ground energy. You've got a nice new construction here, not

(03:54):
near power lines. You're you don't have any mold. That's
what I would use you for on the and then
get the blessing on the house of sage that thing
before before it ever goes up. Now, I always hear
about that too, burning stage. Does that work to get
rid of spirits? Does that? Is that an actual thing?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
No, it does not not at all. Uh. And this
is not a slam on stage at all. But those
Native Americans, they did not. They use sage as a
positive kind of thing to create a positive.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
They did not use that conductor right warfare. They use
it as a conductor for energy, not to ward off things.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
I will both conducted. I'm not sure, but it was
not meant to be in spiritual warfare itself. It was
meant to create something positive. And I've talked to real
shaman and they've concurred with that that that's not what
But people today they don't know that, you know, uh,
and so they they hear about stage, so they bring

(04:57):
that in and and and that's fine for whatever aromatherapy
or creating something positive in there. But when I go
in for warfare, I use blessed incense and I usually
use Franken Sense and Mrror because if there is something

(05:19):
evil that would you know, aggravate them, it would repulse
them because their biblical sense, you know, from the three Magi,
the ghosts, Franken Sense and Murr. So yeah, so again,
and then I've had shaman go in like if there's

(05:39):
people are Native American blood, and then go in afterwards,
and then they would do something positive, you know, with
the sage and all of that. But that's only after
the warfare, you know, during the spiritual warfare in the.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
House, give me how real this is? So I guess
it's my understanding that that most priests probably go through
a whole forty to fifty sixty year career and do
not see a demonic case. Why do you think you
were drawn to this work? And are demons real?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Demons?

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Are?

Speaker 3 (06:17):
You know, our our faith believes that. I mean, if
you believe in God, then then the opposite is true too,
And we do believe that they are demonic forces. How
they manifest in different ways. It can go anything from
simple temptation that everybody you know that we've you know,
brought up with, you know, to be strong in time

(06:39):
with temptation, to the rare demonic possession or subjugation. And
so I think that what I did feel a calling
with the spiritual warfare because it was something that was
taught to me at a young age. This cousin was

(07:00):
a priest and every Tuesday he would come to my grandparents'
house next door, and we were twelve four hours. And
that's really what gave me the impetus and the desire
to follow a calling to the priesthood. But I also
believed very heavily in the supernatural, so visions apparitions, miracles,

(07:28):
those are all paranormal. They're about the normal. So it
wasn't a leap of faith to believe that houses could
have a haunting spirit in there. So, but I didn't
do anything with it growing up until I became a
pastor and I started working actually with Ryan Muell on

(07:57):
paranormal state that I get actually more busy with doing
that that because of the exposure. Now my name was
out there. People were calling from around the state and
in Massachusetts for help, and so I started a group.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
To help with that.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
So there was an investigative part of the group, and
then there was myself and my assistant that went in
and did the warfare and the cleansing of the house.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
You're saying warfare, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
It's fighting. It's what you do is if there is
something malevolent in there, then what I do is with
religious provocation and tried to drive it out using what
we have in you know, in our Catholic Christian tradition, incense,
holy water, relics, the ritual, the prayers, using scripture.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
And how much of your faith is reliant on those
things like the scripture, the words, Because this is what
I'm thinking. So while you're talking, I'm getting I'm getting
the chills, I'm getting a little nervous, and I'm thinking, yes,
I have my faith, but boy, can something that feels
dark make it a little shaky at times? Which I mean,

(09:23):
I'm just being honest. Yeah, I don't know that. It's
like you're walking into a You're walking into a very
dark place. How do you know that you are cloaked
with the armor that you need from God?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Because I spend time beforehand, even days, to prepare spiritually
for that just in case. And I think that anybody
who does any kind of investigation, paranormal investigation, I've tried
to teach people that in workshops in the past. You know,

(09:56):
when you're going into a place, you don't know what
you're walking into, so you needed you need to be
guarded and you need to be uh protected with a
shield because we're dealing with the other world of the
wilderness and we don't know what we're walking into. You know,
it might seem people are saying it's spirit activity, but

(10:18):
it could be something malevolent rather than something you know
of a soul. You know that's that's.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
There, the spirit, So this is not at all symbolic
this is real.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
Oh yeah, I mean, but everything is safe. Like like
what my bishop asked me, the former bishop that I
first approached with all of this, He said, an't you afraid?
And I said, oddly enough, no, why not? Real real
people scare me more than these things, These things I know.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
How to get rid of. Well, then I get hang
out at a Walmart on at the beginning of a
Black Friday sale. That's pretty scary. Oh yeah, those are
possessed people.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
You see.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
These people fight for Stanley cups. There's something wrong with them.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Yeah, oh yeah. But but if faith is an important
even if I didn't have the other things, the Holy
water and the crucifix and all of that, if I
happened not to have it, my faith would be able
to conquer that, you know, and face that. That's what

(11:21):
you have to go in with. You have to go
in with that assuredness that number one that you're going
there on a mission from God. Really, you know, you're
going there as ministry and the faith that I profess
him when I offer Holy masks every day, you know,

(11:42):
I take that with me and so and I know
it's weird. I don't know, I don't know why it
doesn't scare me to go in to places like that.
But I don't take that for granted. Like I don't
go looking for problems. I wouldn't go into a place
just because, you know, supposedly gonna an evil spirit in there.

(12:04):
If I wasn't asked to go in to help. And
you know, I don't take chances like that, I wouldn't
go to Annabelle and start taunting her.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Even though yeah, yeah, we got to talk about that.
We're gonna get into that in the next half hour.
I was thinking, as you were talking, could you talk
about haunted places, places that that that have that thing?
Does that stick to a person or the haunted place
or is the place just its own thing and people
experience the haunting.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
It could be It could be several different things. It
could either be that there's something there connected to the land,
connected to history there, and maybe not even anything to
do with the house. It could be something that had
was brought in somehow by somebody.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Like an antique or something well that's that.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Could be like that, or or if someone just you know,
by by doing you know, like WEEGI bullets and fances
and things like that and different conjuring things they could
have brought something in that was that negative. Well, people
can have bad you know, like even if you ever

(13:20):
run into someone who's so means so bad, it's like
something they've got something attached to them.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Yeah, you know, I talk about this a lot from
playing in a band. Uh Yeah, when when you're out
at night and you meet people towards the beginning of
the night, they're okay, but then once the alcohol starts flowing,
there's a certain part of the night where I don't
even want to play pass like midnight anymore because just
bad things start happening. That's probably why they call alcohol spirits.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Maybe maybe where you see that just the other that
like the darkness, you're like, whoa that flipped a switch.
