Speaker 1 (00:52):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I'm Sandra Champlain. For over twenty five years, I've been
on a journey to prove the existence of life life
after death. On each episode, we'll discuss the reasons we
now know that our loved ones have survived physical death
and so will we. Welcome to Shades of the Afterlife.

(01:13):
The episode you're listening to today is going to first
air before Christmas, but of course the words hold true
any time of the year that being said. The holiday
season people know as the most wonderful time of the year.
But if you're listening to my voice now and you're
missing someone you love, I know this can actually be

(01:33):
the hardest time of the year. We miss our loved ones,
especially holidays, birthdays, anniversaries. We wish they were with us,
But the truth is they are my friends. Your loved
ones really are still here. I've gathered several stories for

(01:54):
you on this episode, not just about life after death,
but given the holidays season, a little chat about angels,
spirit guides, and even terminal lucidity.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
One of the.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Biggest battles we fight when we are grieving is the
battle between our heart and our brains. Our heart feels
our loved ones and says I love them and love
is eternal. But our brain, well, our brain is the skeptic.
It wants facts, it wants logic. Our brain, or that
ego mind, tells us they are gone, their body stopped working,

(02:30):
their brain activity ceased. It's over. So who do we
listen to? We are taught that our consciousness, the you
that makes you you, your memories, your personality, your love,
is just a byproduct of the brain. Science says that
the brain is like a computer and the mind is
just the software, and when the computer breaks, the software disappears.

(02:54):
But my friends, I one hundred percent believe that is
all wrong. The brain isn't the creator of consciousness. What
if it's just the receiver. It's like a television set.
Say you smash your TV screen, the picture goes away,
but the signal, the broadcast, the show. It's still there,

(03:16):
invisible in the air, waiting for a new way to
be seen. One of your fellow listeners recently sent me
a link to an article that was first published in
Time magazine. It's one of the most powerful things I've
read because it addresses this exact question. It wasn't written
by a medium, it wasn't written by a spiritual teacher.

(03:37):
It was written by a doctor. His name is doctor
Scott Hag and he is an orthopedic surgeon. Now, orthopedic
surgeons are about as physical as you can get. They
are the mechanics of the medical world. As doctor Haig says,
I fix bones with hardware. He deals with hammers, screws, plates,

(03:57):
and solid reality. He calls an self a materialist by
training someone who believes in what he can touch. And see.
But something happened in his hospital that changed his mind forever.
He wrote this article titled The Power of Hope, to
share a story about a patient of his named David.

(04:20):
I want to share this story with you now because
it proves in a way that few things can, that
the love you share with your person is stronger than death.
It is stronger than biology, and it is certainly stronger
than a brain tumor. Doctor Haig explains that he was
called in to help David because David's cancer had spread

(04:43):
to his bones. But the real problem wasn't David's hip
or his pelvis. The real tragedy was his brain. David
had lung cancer that had spread aggressively into his brain.
Doctor Haig writes that David's head was literally stuffed with
lung cancer. Now, David was a young man with a

(05:03):
beautiful young family. He had a wife named Carol, who
was a nurse, and three young children who would visit
him every single night. At first, David tried to be
brave for them. He tried to act like the carefree
dad they knew and loved. But biology is cruel, and
as the weeks went on, the tumors in his brain grew.

(05:27):
Doctor Haig watched as David slowly disappeared. First his speech
started to slur, then he stopped making sense, Then he
stopped speaking altogether, and finally he stopped moving. Doctor Haig
describes looking at David's brain scans and feeling a sense

(05:48):
of hopelessness. He said that the scans showed there was
barely any brain left. Think about that for a second.
The physical machinery was destroyed. Doctor Haig wrote beautifully about
what was missing. He said, the cerebral machine that talked
and wondered, winked and sang, the machine that remembered jokes

(06:10):
and birthdays, and where the big fish hid on hot days.
And the lake was nearly gone. It had been replaced
by tumors. As far as the doctor could tell as
a man of science looking at the evidence, David was
just not there. The lights were off, the house was empty.

(06:32):
One Friday evening, doctor Haig was making his rounds. He
walked into David's room and the atmosphere was heavy. The
whole family was there. Carol was there, the three kids
were there, and everyone was crying. David's breathing had changed.
He was doing that gasping gulping breathing that doctors call

(06:55):
agonal respiration. It's a sign that the body is shutting down.
It means that death is imminent, usually minutes or hours away. Carol,
being a nurse, knew exactly what she was seeing. She
knew this was the end. Doctor Haig admits that he
felt helpless. There was nothing he could do or say.

(07:18):
He fussed with David's hip a little bit, said some
empty words just to fill in the silence, and then
he said he tried to escape. He slid out the door,
hoping to get to the empty corridor, but Carol followed
him out. She stopped him in the hallway, away from
the kids. Her eyes were red from crying, and she

(07:40):
asked him the question that we all have in our hearts.
Where is he? She didn't mean his body, she meant him.
Doctor Haig noticed the cross around her neck. He wanted
to comfort her. He told her, I'm not sure where
he is, but I'm pretty sure where he's going. He

(08:00):
left the hospital that night believing that David would never
wake up again. His brain was destroyed. He was in
a coma, and he was dying. But then came a
Saturday morning. The sun was pouring into the room. When
doctor Haig returned, the bed was empty. It was made
up with fresh sheets. David was gone. As the doctor

(08:23):
turned to leave, he was blocked by a nurse, an
older Irish woman who had been on duty the night before.
She looked at him with a very serious expression, and
she told him something impossible. She said, he woke up, doctor,
He just woke up just after you left. Doctor Haig

(08:45):
was stunned. His eyebrows went up. He woke up. The
nurse nodded. She said, he said goodbye to them all,
like I'm talking to you right now, like a miracle.
Can you imagine that after weeks of silence, after his
brain had been physically replaced by tumors, David came back.

(09:07):
The nurse continued. She said, he talked to them and
patted them and smiled for about five minutes. Then he
went out again and he passed within the hour. Five
minutes of clarity, five minutes of smiles, five minutes to
say the things that needed to be said. Doctor Haig
couldn't wrap his head around it. Medically, it shouldn't have

(09:29):
been possible. Two weeks later, he was in the hospital
lobby when he saw David's wife, Carol. It was a
busy place, very public, but he couldn't help himself. He
had to know if it was true. He stopped her
and he asked, uh, Carol did. He didn't even have
to finish the sentence. She knew exactly what he was saying.

(09:52):
She looked at him with a wide, knowing smile. She
nodded and she said, oh, yes, he sure did. Doctor
Hagu writes, I believed her. Now Here is the part
I want you to hear. This is the gift for
your logical brain. Doctor Haig explains that it could not
have been David's brain that woke him up that Friday night.

(10:16):
That's a medical fact. He says. His brain had already
been destroyed. Metastases actually replace brain tissue. The brain is
just not there. The machine was broken, the hardware was gone.
So what woke him up? Who was talking to his children,

(10:37):
who was smiling at his wife and saying goodbye? Doctor
Haig's conclusion is profound. He says, what woke my patient
that Friday was simply his mind forcing its way through
a broken brain, a father's final act to comfort his family.
He realized in that moment that the mind, our will,

(11:00):
our hope, our love is something separate. It is weightless
and invisible, but it is as real as rocks and water.
He says that science tries to ignore these things because
it can't measure them, but he can't ignore them anymore.
He says it would be cowardly to ignore what he saw.

(11:21):
He calls that moment, that beautiful five minute goodbye, an
appearance of the spirits of others, of minds, uncloaked and
naked virtue. It means that David wasn't his brain cancer,
he wasn't his failing body. He was a powerful, eternal spirit,
and his love for his family was so strong, so determined,

(11:44):
that he was able to bypass the broken machinery of
his body to deliver one final message, I love you,
I am here, and this isn't the end. If David
could do that, if he could push through a destroyed
brain just to comfort his family, imagine what your loved
ones are doing right now. They don't have the limitation

(12:07):
of a sick body anymore. They are free, and they
are trying in a million little ways to tell you
that they love you. Maybe they are sending you a sign,
Maybe they are visiting you in a dream, or maybe
they are just sitting quietly beside you right now, hoping
you can feel their love. In this episode, we're going

(12:27):
to explore those connections. We're going to talk about whether
you call them angels or spirit guides who help us
make that bridge. We're going to hear a story from
a woman who actually died, went to the other place
and met her guardian who has been with her since birth.
But the truth is we are never alone, not on Christmas,
not on anniversaries, not on birthdays, not on any other

(12:51):
particular day, not ever more stories. When we come back,
you're listening to Shades of the Afterlife on the iHeartRadio
and Coast to Coast a m paranormal podcast Network. Welcome

(13:26):
back to Shades of the Afterlife. I'm Sandra Champlain. In
our last segment, we heard the incredible story of doctor
Haig and his patient David, and about what they call
terminal lucidity, or hospice nurses call it rallying just before
someone passes. We learn that the mind, the spirit, the love,
the real you is stronger than the physical brain. Just

(13:49):
like a broken television, the TV signal is still strong
and still exists, but that leaves us with a big
question when we step out of our physical body, who
who is there to meet us? Are we alone? I
want to share with you a story that answers those questions.
It comes from a woman named Lorie Lambert. What I

(14:10):
love about Lourie is she isn't a overly spiritual person.
In nineteen eighty seven, she was serving in the US
Navy stationed in Oregon. She was practical, she is tough,
and she was definitely not looking for a spiritual experience.
She decided to go on a whitewater rafting trip on

(14:31):
the Rogue River to bond with her co workers. Now
the Rogue River is beautiful, but it has a very
dangerous section. The water was high, fast, and freezing cold.
Laurie was in an inflatable kayak and she missed a
tricky maneuver. Her kayak hit a series of boulders and
she was thrown into the water. She wasn't just floating.

(14:55):
The current sucked her down thirty feet. She describes it
as being in a washing machine. She was trapped in
the dark, freezing water, in hailing water, unable to find
the surface. In that moment of panic, she realized she
was going to die, and she did the only thing
she could. She asked God for help. I want you

(15:17):
to listen to Lori describe in her own words what
happened the moment she said that prayer.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
My near death experience occurred in May nineteen eighty seven.
My duty station was Who's Head, Oregon. I was in
the US Navy. I decided to register for the whitewater
rafting exertion because it was a way of bonding with
my coworkers. All of there were rapids except two fill

(15:45):
into class one, two and three difficulty. The part that
I had almost drowned and was a Class four section
called Blossom Bar. During the day, it was like the one,
two and three rafts and it was pretty calm, but
the water was really high and it was very cold.

(16:08):
It was running fast that year. So after lunch we
went through Mule Canyon, which is like the doorway basically
to the Class four section. The water is like thirty
feet deep and I had to do a right left
right maneuver with my paddle, and I tried to follow

(16:28):
the guy that was doing it, and he got to
it without a difficulty. But when I tried it, I
missed one side and I wound up getting a series
of four huge boulders and I hit the rock broadside
with my inflatable kayak and I rolled out into the water,

(16:49):
which was about thirty feet I had a life vest on,
but it was like a washing machine. The current was
so strong that no matter what I did, I couldn't
get to the surface, and I couldn't feel the bottom either.
It was dark there, but I could see the sky.
So I'm kind of like trying to reach for the

(17:10):
sky and nothing's happening. I'm inhaling water, ice, cold water,
and I'm panicking. The first thing I went through my
mind was that I'm going to die here, and I
asked God to help me. And after I said God,
please help me, the water around me turned white. My

(17:35):
lungs stopped burning, and I felt like I was being
propelled into a white tunnel where my feet were connected
by a silver cord, and I just went to the tunnel.
It was very calm and it was very peaceful, and

(17:55):
I emerged on the other side. It was like a room,
but it looked like clouds, but it was solid, and
there were three beings in the limb. It looked like
glass prisms. There was one that was shorter, one that
was medium sized, and one in the middle was the

(18:16):
tallest one. And I immediately was like, what the hell
is this? But they had given me this sense of adoration,
like they worshiped every cell I was made of. But
I wasn't comfortable with their appearance, so they changed. They
transformed into an angel that I could recognize. The only

(18:39):
difference was that their wings weren't like bird wings. Their
wings were like fiber optic cables, and it kind of
made the shape of wings. The light light energy it
was flickering through their eyes. They had this sparkle to them.

(19:00):
Looked at the inside of a DVD or CD when
it's spinning, that flickering kind of like you see multicolor.
That's how their eyes look. You can see the light
energy coming from them. Again. It was like the sense
of unconditional love and a sense of belonging, just like

(19:20):
I was home. The one on the left, the shortest
fun he said his name was Yoshal, and he said,
I've been with you since the beginning, and I will
be with you until the end. The one in the middle,
the tallest one, had a book and in the book.
It was a real book. It was like when the

(19:41):
pages turned, it was like images of when I was conceived,
all the way to things that I did during my
life that I might have done a better job, or
the things that I did well. And then there was
an image of and two children. You couldn't see their faces,

(20:05):
they were just silhouettes. And then the last page was
a multitude of children and you couldn't see their faces.
It was just like silhouettes. I don't know what that meant.
But the third angel said that I needed to be
there for them, that I could not stay, that I

(20:28):
was not done with whatever it is that I was
supposed to do on earth, that I needed to go
back to my body. And Yashael said that he was
my guardian, my angel, and he said that you need
to go back to your body. It isn't time yet,

(20:50):
but while you're here, i'll show you some things. So
I took his hand and we flew and I could
see a waterfall with no beginning and no end, and
when I looked up, there was this white light that
kind of rained down on everything, and it was just

(21:12):
this sense of loves. I didn't want to leave. There
was a field that looked like wheat, and when God's
breath blew over it, it would sing, and there was
colors of flowers that I can't even describe that it
was so brilliant and so perfect. He took me to

(21:34):
a small lake, but when you look into it, you
can see people on Earth going about their daily like
I could see my family and everything. But at the
same time, I wanted to be there. I didn't care
about what was going on down on Earth. I felt

(21:55):
so comfortable at home. Next to the water was an
old country fence, and beyond that was this huge tree.
I mean it looked like an oak, but it was
golden and it had gold leaves on it. And like again,
when God's breath blue, the leaves would change to birds

(22:19):
and they would fly off. Yoshiel told me that I
can't go beyond the barrier. He told me that I
needed to go back to my body, and he said
that I had to be here for them, and I
told him, no, like it's here, feel loved here, and

(22:39):
he said, it's time for you to go back to
your body. He pushed me so hard that I popped
up out of that hole that I was stuck in
all the water came out of my lungs. I know
that when they kicked me up out of the water,
they grabbed me by the back of my life jacket
and dragged me up on like one of those pontoon boats.

(23:02):
They didn't have to do CPDR or anything like that.
It was like an instant, like what happened. Something happened,
But I didn't get the details until the months after
the NDE because back then they didn't have the Internet.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Thank you for listening to that. I love how Laurie
describes those angels wings like fiber optic cables, a field
of wheat that sings when God's breath blows over it,
and that golden tree where the leaves turn into birds
and fly away. It paints a picture of a world
that is more vibrant, more alive, and more magical than

(23:39):
anything we can imagine here. But I want you to
focus on her spirit guide. Remember what he told her.
He said, I have been with you since the beginning,
and I will be with you until the end. Laurie
met her guardian angel or guide. She realized she had
a teammate who was walking beside her every single second

(23:59):
of her life, unseen but always present. I too believe
that we all have one special guardian. There's more I'm
sure that come and go throughout our lives, but sometimes
that spirit team may include people we've lost. I have
had several mediums tell me something strange. They said, Sandra,

(24:19):
your dad has joined your spirit team. He is helping
you from the other side, not just as your father,
but as a guide. I do believe that all of
our loved ones in the afterlife have a job to
do too, and they continue to learn and explore on
the other side, but their job is also to support you.
So when you think about your team, imagine your spirit

(24:42):
guide or angel standing right next to you with unconditional love,
no matter what you may say or do. But they're
not alone. Imagine your loved ones with them. So Laurie
saw these guides when she crossed over. But the good
news is that you don't need to have a near
death exp barriers to know that they are there. Sometimes

(25:02):
they just come to us. They drop signs, they send signals,
and for some people they are actually visible when we
come back from the break. I'll tell you the story
of an irishwoman who sees angels as clearly as you
and I would see each other. She has a beautiful
message about how our loved ones, especially the children, are

(25:23):
always right here sparkling in our lives. We'll be right back.
You're listening to Shades of the Afterlife on the iHeartRadio
and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal Podcast Network. Welcome back

(25:57):
to Shades of the Afterlife. I'm Sanders Champlinan. We just
heard about Lorie Lambert, a woman who crossed the line
of death and met her guardian angel. She traveled to
a different realm to see the beings of light that
watch over us all. But what if you didn't have
to die to see them? What if the veil between
our world and theirs isn't a brick wall, but just

(26:17):
a thin, sheer curtain. And what if for some people
that curtain is already open. I want to tell you
about a woman named Laura Burne. If you passed Laura
on the street, you probably wouldn't think twice. She's a
tiny woman from Ireland, very soft spoken, very humble. She
calls herself just an ordinary woman. She grew up extremely

(26:37):
poor and because of severe dyslexia, she was told by
her whole family that she was retarded, a terrible word
we don't use now, but they used back then because
she couldn't read or write. But Laura had a secret,
a secret she kept for decades, since she was an
infant lying in her crib. Lorna has been able to

(26:59):
see angel and I don't mean she senses them or
sees them in her mind's eye. She sees them physically.
She sees them standing behind people in the grocery store.
She sees them sitting beside drivers in cars. She sees
them wrapping their wings around people who are crying. Lorna
has now sold over a million books in fifty countries.

(27:22):
She has been interviewed by theologians and news anchors, and
her story gives us a glimpse into the afterlife. One
of the very first memories Lorna has is when she
was just a toddler, about two and a half years old.
She was sitting in front of the fireplace in her
family's tiny cottage. It was warm, the fire was crackling,

(27:44):
and she was playing with wooden blocks. But she wasn't alone.
Sitting right next to her was a little boy. He
was bright, he was happy. They were playing together, passing
the blocks back and forth. Lorna remembers reaching out her
hand to him, and as her tiny hand touched his
tiny hand, something miraculous happened. The air between them sparkled.

(28:08):
It was an explosion of light and pure love. It
wasn't scary, It was the most natural feeling in the world.
She just sat there, bathing in the warmth of the
fire and the warmth of this little boy's presence. It
wasn't until years later that the angels explained to her
who he was. That little boy was her brother, but
he had died before Lorna was born. This story touches

(28:32):
my heart because it answers the biggest fear we have
when we lose someone, especially a child. We worry they
are gone. We worry they are lonely. We worry they
are all alone. But Lorna's vision shows us that they
are right here with us. They are part of our
daily lives, playing, loving and sparkling right beside us. Lorna's

(28:53):
mother never knew this. In Ireland back then, you weren't
allowed to grieve openly, had to just get on with it.
Her mother carried that grief in silence for years. It
wasn't until Lorna was an adult and finally wrote her
book that she was able to read that chapter to
her mother. Her mother cried. She said she always felt

(29:16):
him near her, but she thought she was imagining it.
Lorna gave her the greatest gift a mother could receive,
the confirmation that her deceased son was actually happy, alive,
and still part of the family. But Lorna's life it
wasn't easy because she saw things that others didn't, and
the angels told her she had to keep it a secret.

(29:38):
They told her if she told anyone, she would be
locked away in an institution. So she grew up in
a world of silence. The fact that she wrote a
book is a miracle in itself. Remember, she had severe dyslexia.
She can hardly read or write. She told me a
story about pushing her baby daughter in a stroller on
a cold, breezy day, and suddenly she felt presence behind her.

(30:01):
She stopped the stroller and turned around, standing there was
archangel Michael. It wasn't scary, It was even teasing her
a little bit, and he delivered a message for her.
He said, Lorna, it is time for you to write.
Laura actually got annoyed with him. She stood there in
the street holding the handlebars of the stroller and argued

(30:24):
with an angel. She said, I can't read or write.
How on earth do you expect me to do that?
She said no to this calling for years. Many years later,
and after Laura's husband had passed away, a stranger came
to her door. He walked in with two boxes, put
them on the table, and left. What was inside the
boxes a laptop, computer and voice recognition software. It was

(30:48):
the tool she needed. She realized she didn't have to write,
she just had to speak, and thanks to that miracle,
we have her stories today. Laura eventually married him, man
named Joe, and even though she saw angels, she was
not spared the pain of being human. In fact, when
she was just ten years old, an angel showed her

(31:09):
a vision of Joe. He showed her the man she
would fall in love with, but he also told her
the hard truth. They wouldn't grow old together. He would
get sick and die young. When Joe finally did pass away,
Lorna was heartbroken, but she was also given this vision.
As Joe took his last breath, she didn't just see

(31:30):
a body shutting down, she saw the room filled with angels,
and she saw Joe's soul. She saw his energy, his love,
the very essence of him lift out of his body.
She said, it was beautiful, it was peaceful. He wasn't
in pain anymore, and he was free. It reminds us

(31:52):
that what we see at a funeral is just the shell.
The butterfly has already flown. One of the most amazing
things Lorna talks about is the guardian Angel. We've all
heard that term, but we think of it as a metaphor.
But Laura says it is a reality. She says that
every single person has a magnificent being of light standing

(32:16):
behind them, regardless of their beliefs, regardless of their religion,
their past, or their mistakes. Whether you call it the
guardian angel or your spirit guide, Lorna said, it is
the gatekeeper of your soul. She says, this angel was
with you before you were born. It was there when
you took your first breath, and it will be the

(32:37):
one to take your hand when you take your last breath.
Lorna says, your guardian angel loves you unconditionally. It never
judges you, it never gets tired of you. It never
looks away. She said, to your guardian angel, you are
number one, and it only has eyes for you. Imagine that,

(33:01):
even on your worst days, when you're feeling unlovable, when
you're feeling alone, when you're crying on the bathroom floor,
there is a magnificent being standing right there, looking at
you with absolute love, holding space for you, waiting for
you to ask for help. You don't have to earn it,
my friends, It's already yours. Lorna also shared a beautiful

(33:25):
story about a little boy who was very sick in
the hospital. He kept asking his parents to take him
to see Lorna. When he finally arrived, he was frustrated.
He told Lorna, mom and dad are not listening to me.
I've been trying to tell them I'm going home soon.
His parents thought he meant home to their house, but

(33:46):
the little boy looked at Lorna and said, I see
my guardian angel now. He meant he was going home
to heaven. It was a heartbreaking moment. Lorna couldn't tell
the parents that their son was going to die. Instead,
she gave them the best advice she could. She told them,
spend every moment with your son don't miss a single moment.

(34:08):
That boy passed a week later, but because of that advice,
his parents didn't waste time in denial. They spent that
week just loving him. Lorna reminds us that children often
see what we cannot. They can see our guides or
our angels. They see the way home. And as I'm
recording this in the holiday season, I'll share with you

(34:30):
Lorna's vision of Christmas because this is a story that
may change how you look at the holiday. Lorna says
that during the Christmas season, the gates of heaven open
up a little bit more. She describes seeing streams of
angels pouring down from the heavens coming to earth, and
they are carrying something. She says, they are all carrying

(34:54):
balls of light. These balls of light are filled with
the spirit of hope, belief, happiness, and joy. Lorna says
she watches these angels visit every single home. It doesn't
matter if it's a mansion, a tiny apartment, a hospital room,
or a tent on the street. The angels go to

(35:14):
where people are and they drop these balls of light
into the home. She says. When the light hits it explodes,
it lights up every nook and cranny of the house.
It touches the hearts of the people inside. Sometimes we
feel it, don't we. We feel that sudden moment of
peace in the middle of chaos. We feel a sudden

(35:36):
warmth when we look at the Christmas tree, we feel
a memory with a loved one. We may even feel
that sense of goosebumps. We think it might just be nostalgia,
but Laura says it's actual gift of energy from the
other side. Lorna also believes deeply in the power of prayer,
but she doesn't mean kneeling in a church. She says,

(35:57):
you could be driving your car, or sitting on a
bus or out for a walk and just think the
word help. That is a prayer. She describes seeing prayer energy.
She says it looks like Niagara falls, but billions of
times bigger, and instead of coming down, it's going up.

(36:17):
She sees angels taking those prayers and enhancing them, carrying
them up to the divine. It's a massive upward waterfall
of love and request. So if you're hurting this holiday
season or any day, try sending up a prayer. It
doesn't have to be fancy, just the words help me

(36:38):
is enough to create that waterfall. Lorna's message is simple.
You are never alone. You're supported by a team of
angels and guides who adore you, and you are surrounded
by the souls of the people you love. She says,
you are pure love. You can't dilute it and you
can't get rid of it. So how can we connect

(37:00):
with this team? How do we feel that sparkle that
Lorna felt with her brother. How do we know our
guardian angel is there with us. You don't need to
be a mystic to do it. You don't need to
see them with your physical eyes like Lorna does. You
just need to close your eyes and look with your heart.
In the next segment, I want to do something a

(37:20):
little different. I want to guide you through a short experience.
I want to help you quiet the noise of the world,
step into that quiet space, and perhaps meet your team.
I want you to feel, just for a moment, that
hand holding yours. So if you can get comfortable, if
you're driving, just keep listening and promise you'll listen to

(37:42):
this later when you get home. We're going to take
a short break, but when we come back, we're going
to meet the ones who have been with us since
the beginning. We'll be right back. You're listening to Shades
of the Afterlife on the iHeartRadio and Cost to Coast
AM Paranormal Podcast Network. Welcome back to Shades of the Afterlife.

(38:25):
I'm Sander Champlain. Now we've heard the stories of guardian
angels or guides, whatever term makes you feel more comfortable.
But hearing stories is one thing, feeling is another. Throughout
this episode, we've talked about the idea that you have
a guardian who's been with you since the beginning, and
the idea that your loved ones are right there with
them too. I don't want you to just take my

(38:46):
word for it. I want you to meet them now.
Remember your imagination is the gateway to that unseen world,
and with practice, those in spirit can use your mind
to show many images and experiences. However, we're still human,
so if there's any fear or anything negative that seems
to creep in, just let it go. That's just our

(39:07):
human ego. So if you can put down whatever else
you're doing, make yourself comfortable, sit back, relax and close
your eyes. Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Filling your lungs completely and hold it for a moment.

(39:31):
Now let it out slowly through your mouth, releasing all
of the tension in your shoulders and in your jaw
and in your hands. Let's do that again. Deep breath in,
inviting in peace, and a long, slow breath out, letting

(39:55):
go of grief, letting go of any stre us of
this time of year. Just for now, I want you
to use your imagination. Imagination is the bridge to reality.
I want you to imagine a time before you were born.

(40:18):
Imagine yourself as being pure light. You are floating in
a place of absolute love and safety. It is warm here,
it is bright, there is no pain, there is no time.

(40:42):
And as you float in this beautiful space, you become
aware that you are not alone. Someone is coming towards you,
a magnificent being of light. This is your guardian all them,
an angel, a guide, a spirit friend. The label doesn't matter.

(41:05):
What matters is the feeling. You may not be able
to see them clearly, or they may just represent themselves
as a light. No matter how they represent themselves. As
they get closer to you, you feel a wave of
love wash over you that is so powerful, so unconditional.

(41:30):
It brings tears to your spirit eyes. This being knows
you completely. They know the life you're about to live
on earth. They know the struggles you will have, and
they know the mistakes you will make. And they love

(41:50):
you because of them, not in spite of them. Imagine
this guardian taking your hands, looking into your eyes. Guys,
feel them say to you, I will go with you.
I will stand right by your side when you take
that first breath. I will walk beside you when you

(42:15):
are lonely. I will catch your tears when you cry,
and I will never ever look away. Feel the safety
of that promise. You have never been alone, not for
one second. Now, I want you to fast forward, move

(42:38):
through the timeline of your life. See yourself growing up,
See the times you fell down, and see this guardian
picking you up. See the times you felt unlovable, and
see this guardian standing right behind you, beaming love into

(43:03):
your back, whispering you are perfect, You are just learning.
You are my number one. And now bring your awareness
back to the present moment, to right now. Imagine you

(43:25):
are sitting in a beautiful room, a sacred space, and
it is filled with soft golden light. You are sitting
in a comfortable chair and standing right behind you is
that same guardian. Feel their hands resting gently on your shoulders.

(43:48):
Feel the warmth of their presence. They are so proud
of how strong and brave you have been. Now look
around this room. A door opens and glittering light just
pours in. Walking through that door are the people you love,

(44:15):
the ones you have missed so terribly, the ones you
thought were gone. And perhaps if you have special pets
in spirit, they're walking in with your loved ones. See
them walking in, healthy and whole, See them smiling. You

(44:41):
may even see tails wagging. They aren't sick anymore, they
aren't in pain. They are radiant. See them coming over
to you now, gathering around your chair. Maybe it's your

(45:02):
dad standing tall and proud. Maybe it's your mother reaching
out to touch your cheek. Maybe it's a child running
over to jump in your lap.

Speaker 3 (45:15):
Maybe it's a.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Pet giving you a lick on the cheek. Feel them,
feel their hands on yours, feel their hugs and their
arms around you. They want you to know that they

(45:37):
haven't missed a single thing. They were there for your birthday,
they were there for anniversaries. They are going to be
with you for each and every holiday. Imagine a table

(45:59):
set for a holiday dinner. It's beautiful. There are decorations
and candle glowing, and there's a lot of food, and
there is one empty chair at the table. Usually that
chair makes you sad. But look at it now. In

(46:19):
your mind's eye, see your loved one sitting in that chair.
See them raising a glass to you, See them laughing
at the conversation, See them basking in the love of
the family. They are not missing it, they are part

(46:43):
of it. Hear them whisper to you. I am right here.
I am part of the celebration. My love is this
seasoning in the food. My joy is the flickering in
the candle. I am home, I am with you, and

(47:06):
I love you. Take a moment to sit with your team,
your guardian, your loved ones, and I will.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Be quiet for just a minute.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
Feel that circle of truth tightening around you. This is reality,
This is the truth. You are supported, you are cherished,
and you are never walking this path alone. And now,

(48:41):
very gently, start to bring your awareness back to your
physical body. Feel your feet on the floor, feel your
hands in your lap. Take a deep breath in and
let it out, and when you're ready open your eyes

(49:08):
welcome back. I hope you can carry that feeling with you,
not just today, but throughout the year, throughout the holiday season,
and when you see that empty chair or see their picture,
just try to remember that they are with you. As
proof of how close our loved ones are. I invite
