Speaker 2 (00:14):
Oh boy, we're going to have some fun today. It
is gun talk, a well regulated militia being necessary for
the security of a free state. The right of the
people to keep in bare arms shall not be infringed.
That's it, that's all. It is pretty simple, he says,
(00:37):
the right of the people that you and me to
keep him bear the means we can own them, we
can carry them, shall not be in fringe. Don't mess
with it. We're working on that. We're making a lot
of progress on that, and I think as we head
into twenty twenty five, we're gonna have some big wins,
some big wins in the courts and other places. Frankly,
where were talking about that a good bit today as
(00:59):
we kind of gaze into our crystal balls and think
about what's coming in the year twenty twenty five, which,
oh yeah, if you haven't looked at a calendar, twenty
twenty four is toast. It's over. It's pretty much done
for So we're looking into this next year and think
about what are we all going to be doing. What
changes can we make individually and collectively, you know, to
(01:23):
basically advance the Second Amendment, to advance gun rights, to
advance freedom, to advance liberty, things that we properly all
should be working on and supporting. You know. If you'd
like to be a part of this right now, you
can call the numbers eight six six Talk gun or
obviously Tom Talk Gun. That's me Tom. Can me call
(01:43):
Tom Talk gun? Because I'm throwing out something for you
today and I think it's going to be fine. I've
got my thoughts on it, but I want to get
your thoughts on it. What are the five guns you
need in twenty twenty five? So what are the parameters here?
The five guns you need in twenty twenty five might
(02:06):
be something that you want to add now. And some
of these you may say, well, here's my list, but
I already have that. Fine, that's fine. There may be
some you say, but I want to add to it.
I want to do it. Or it may be that
you're advising someone else. Because here's the deal. If you're
listening to a show called gun Dog, you're probably the
gun guy or the gun gal in your group. You're
(02:28):
the one who people go to and say what gun
should I buy? Right? I mean that's always the question,
what gun should I buy? And yes, we always start
off and say, okay, well let's talk about that because
we probably ought to be talking about training, et cetera,
et cetera. But you're the one, so you have ideas
on this. You have guns, of course, so the question
(02:50):
is what are the guns you either need in twenty
twenty five or maybe it's just the guns you think
you would like to add to Notice that need gets removed,
which is always a good thing because people say, well
what do you need such there's no need involved. Well
sometimes we said, you know, I really need that other
(03:12):
gun and we know what we're talking about, right, So
there you go. The question is on the floor, what
are the five guns you need to add or you
need to buy or you need to somehow acquire in
twenty twenty five. And this is basically just your the
next wish list. We all have our wish list. We've
(03:32):
been working on that for a while. You know, is
it a rifle, is it a handgun? Which type of handgun?
Is it something else? Are there particular cartridges, calibers or
gauges that you think you would like to add to
the mix.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
There is a thing that happens with archery, and I
mean I started shooting stick bows and loves my stick bows.
There is and I don't know if you call it zen,
I don't know what you call it, some kind of
mental state that you get into. But there's a thing
that happens, and it sounds crazy, but you'll understand it.
You become one with the bow, you become one with
(07:30):
the arrow, and you actually end up launching yourself downrange. Okay,
how crazy does that sound?
Speaker 8 (07:35):
Well, that's exactly the origins of zen and the martial arts.
But I think the best way to establish the beauty
of becoming one with the path of your life slash projectile,
is that when you get a bow and you grab
that bow with your hand and you knock that arrow
even as you're contemplating drawing the bow back, there is
no Joe Biden, there is no criminality, there's no.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Well, there's nothing out evil.
Speaker 8 (08:01):
I'm just jelling you. It's out of body. It's the
ultimate martial arts. And then you transfer that martial arts
then oneness of archery, and it will apply to your
handgun shooting. It will apply to your trigger control, no
matter what the firearm you're using.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Well, and to add to that, people are going yeah, yeah, okay,
all right, okay, forget that. Maybe you don't want to
go that way. Let me just tell you this. If
you take up archery in addition to the other things
you're doing, you are adding a just a pure fun sport.
Here's a question for you, Ted, You have taught a gazillion,
hundreds of thousands of kids to shoot. Have you ever
had a youngster try archery and not enjoy it?
Speaker 8 (08:41):
Tom, I just wrapped up our thirty I get such
a chuckle out of this, because, boy, you're pushing the
buttons here. We pushed the United buttons. I just wrapped
up the thirty fifth Ted Nugent Camp for Kids charity event,
totally nonprofit, one percent volunteer by families. And you're right,
tens of thousands of kids and when we go to
the archery range. When we go, they like their shot
(09:03):
gun and they like their holy goal.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Well, we are remote. We're doing this on the road.
We're on the final stretch of getting home after a
five week trip, driving trip around the country. And yeah,
we haven't some of the issues you sometimes have when
you're doing remote broadcast. But that's okay. We'll fight our
way through this thing. Right now, it's a chance for
you to give us a call. We're kind of talking
about what are the five guns that you ought to
(09:28):
have or maybe you add to your mix in twenty
twenty five as we look forward to this coming year.
Pete called in from Fargo, North Dakota. Hey, Pete, what's
on your mind? Sir?
Speaker 9 (09:40):
Well, my son bought a Browning High Power nine millimeter
back in twenty eighteen, and then the process to decide
it to get into trouble and loses gun privileges. He
the gun was stolen from him some time after twenty eighteen,
and he reported to for the police like he was
(10:00):
supposed to. And now the gun has showed up in
the police impounds here and you're in good old Fargo,
North Dakota. And so he goes. They call him out
and tell me they've got his gun. Well, he says, okay,
you wanted to transfer to his dad, which is me,
And he said, they said, nope, nope, we can't do that.
And so apparently you can't get his gun because it's
in his impound. And I kept wondering how can they
(10:23):
do that? And then so I get I figured i'd
call you guys, and see if there's anybody out there
that has any knowledge of why the authorities are able
to do something like that.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Well, they can do whatever they can do until somebody
tells them they can't. So okay, see if I got
this figured out, your your son is now he's now
a prohibited person, so he cannot own a gun? Is
that correct?
Speaker 9 (10:50):
And own a gun? Nope?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Okay, So and they've got his gun it got recovered
from you, stolen, and they're saying we cannot return it
to anybody other than the lawful owner, which is him,
But they can't give it right him because he's a
prohibitive person.
Speaker 9 (11:04):
Yeah, gets twenty two there, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah, yeah, exactly right. Have you talked have you talked
to the police about it?
Speaker 9 (11:14):
No? But I'm going in on Monday, and I was
hoping I could get on the show. And I'm really
happy to get on the show because I listened to
you quite often and to see what obstacles I might
be faced with. Do I need to get a gun
dealer to handle it or an attorney to handle it,
or maybe I'll get lucky and they'll.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Just it may be you know what, maybe then ask
them here's the go in. Don't go in with the
chip on the shower. Just say, look, guys, here's what
we got, here's our situation. How do we make this happen?
They may say, well, this is what you need to do,
and then then you got away. Or you might say,
what if we got an affidavid from my son saying
(11:52):
that he wants the gun to go to me and
we'll run it through a gun dealer so that they
will run the NIXT background check on it before it
gets transferred. So you got one or two options in
your pocket when you go in. But go in with
a good attitude. And the first thing I would say is, look,
here's what we got. How can we make this happen?
And ask them to offer solutions.
Speaker 9 (12:16):
One more thing, Tom, I'm sure that's AP three sixty five,
big sour XL Macro.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
I love it. It's a shooter.
Speaker 9 (12:28):
It all if you got any that's one of my
go to guns.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
It is for a lot of people. Good. Well, look,
I wish you luck with it, and I appreciate the call, sir.
I got to keep scooting here. We've got Lynn online
one call it out of Missouri. Lynn, you're on gun Talk.
How can we help.
Speaker 8 (12:45):
Hi.
Speaker 10 (12:46):
My husband has been looking for two fifty seven Roberts bullets.
We've lived locally, we've looked online, and they're just impossible
to find. We'd like to find them for not a fortune.
So I was wondering if you all might beat us
in the right direction.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Sure. Now, let me ask you because you said bullets,
and so that I can be very specific about it.
Generally speaking, bullets means the projectiles that you use for reloading,
not the loaded ammunition. So are you looking for that
or are you looking for actual ammunition?
Speaker 10 (13:21):
Pat is an actual ammunition.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Bullet?
Speaker 9 (13:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:25):
The bullet Okay, that's all right, Yeah, that's that's that's
actually cartridges. Bullet bullets are the things that come out
at the end. But it's not what you put in
the gun. Okay, Uh, this is this is actually gonna
be easy. I can help with this, Okay.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
There is a website and you can actually buy ammunition
online and they will ship it to your door, okay.
And the website is ammo seek as though we're seeking
ammo ammoseek dot com. Okay, And when you get there,
you put in two fifty seven Roberts and it will
pop up with a whole bunch of different websites and
(13:59):
they show the prices and everything, and you click on
those and you order them and they will send them
to your door.
Speaker 10 (14:07):
Perfect.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Thank you well, And let me just say this, I
love the seven Roberts. It was the first cartridge, a
rifle cartridge I ever fired, and it was my mother's gun,
and we still have that rifle. And so the two
fifty seven Roberts is a sleeper that knowledge of people
know about, and a lot of people don't know what
(14:28):
you talking about. But congrats on having one, because that's
that's a great cartridge and a great rifle.
Speaker 10 (14:33):
Yeah, exactly cool. Thank you so much, you bet.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Good luck with thatvan. Thanks now, I appreciate the call.
Now Russell's called in out of Montana with an idea,
A Russell, we're talking guns for twenty twenty five. Lay
it on me.
Speaker 11 (14:50):
It's rather ambitious. But Cole just came up with a
new model called the Grizzly. It pretty much looks like
a python and for no other reason, we'll just get
that because it's stamped differently.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
On a barrel.
Speaker 11 (15:04):
Okay, and then I need one of those bar semi automatics.
I think they're made out of Ohio ordnance. Oh be
around my World War II stuff?
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Sure, sure, okay.
Speaker 11 (15:16):
And then a Colt Retro M one seventy x one
seventy seven. They're on back order, but they're out there.
They made them exactly like the maxok V guns of
Vietnam with the surplus Vietnam parts.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Even can I say that I'm kind of picking up
on a theme here. You're a military gun guy, I.
Speaker 11 (15:38):
Gotta feel these little niches. Yes, I have the Retro
sixteen okay one they put out a couple of years ago.
And then I need a thirty eight to forty Colt's
not necessary because I'm going to kind of beat on it,
but I want to run around with that caliber. I've
been reading about it. I want to learn a little
bit more about it. That's a cool cat pocket models.
(16:01):
I have original Colt Pocket Models in thirty two and
thirty three eighty. But Colt's got a new one out there,
made like the general issue models.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
That is so interesting. That's a completely different idea and
list than I would have thought of. And that's why
I throw it out because people right now are listening
to this and going, huh, never would have thought of
those fairly interesting and Philly. Well, and what you're doing
really is, as you said, you're filling in your niches.
You already have a lot of other guns. It's like
(16:34):
you don't really need just an AR fifteen, you already
have that, but you're filling in the little and these
are small niches now that you.
Speaker 11 (16:42):
Don't have, right, yes, with big price tags. I realistically
I see the paper lead two or three getting done,
but well, you know, we'll push it as hard as
it can.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Well, you know, there's nothing wrong with having the list.
It doesn't mean you have to get them all done
in one year, but it gives you something to work on,
and that way you're always looking and if something pops
up and it's a deal, you can jump on it
because you don't have to decide. You've already made the
decision you're going to get it, and when it's there,
you can pull the trigger on it and buy it.
Speaker 11 (17:11):
That's right, all right.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
I love the good list, Russell, thanks for the call.
I appreciate that. So the question on the floor is
what are the five guns you need in twenty twenty five?
And need is whatever you want to be. You know
you need to fill in the niches the way Russell's doing,
(17:33):
or you don't have these and you would like to
add them to your list, or you think, okay, I
already have two or three of these, so I'm not
going to buy those, but I'm going to fill it out,
but just the list where you're thinking everybody ought to
have these. So I'll start. I'll play the first one,
(17:54):
and it seems to me would be the obvious one
is you need America's rifle. Everybody needs an AR fifteen.
If you already have one or two or three or
four or five or six or seven, eight, Okay, fine,
you get it, you understand what I'm talking about. But
if you don't have an AR fifteen, allow me to
suggest that you probably need one. Why would you need
(18:19):
an AR fifteen, Well, first of all, it is, in
fact America's rifle. Now it's the most popular rifle being
sold in America. They are lightweight, generally speaking, low recoil,
amima is readily available. They are a part of American history,
and oh have I mentioned They're just fun to shoot,
(18:43):
and you can spend as almost as little and almost
as much as you want to spend on various AR fifteens.
I mean you can quite literally buy an AR fifteen
for four hundred dollars easy. These days, you could also
spend four thousand dollars. Is that ten times better? No,
it's not, of course it's not. As with all things
(19:07):
to as the price gets higher, the increase in value
gets smaller. Or I always say that the last ten
percent is almost worth one hundred percent more in everything, cars, guns,
what boats, whatever, So I would throw out that, I
think first of the list for some My list is
that everybody, if you're a gunny at all, if you
(19:31):
like guns, and look, you may be saying, now, I
just hunt. I don't need an Air of fifteen. I
just this. I don't need to I get it. I
get it. But I'm just saying, if you're looking for
a gun that can do a lot, it's a great
home defense gun. And if you don't don't understand that,
if you disagree with me, call me, I'll explain that.
But the AR fifteen is in fact a great home
(19:51):
defense gun. It is ergonomic, with the collapsible adjustable stocks
that can fit everybody in the family who is old
enough to be able to shoot one responsible and use
it in a defensive situation. You also can hunt with them.
Of course, you can take them to the range and
just have a bunch of fun shooting. They also and
(20:11):
I think people kind of miss this. They are a
great tool if you're one of those who likes to
introduce people to shooting, and AIR fifteen is a great
platform to use because the recoil is very low. Everybody
knows what they look like. Young people look at them
and go, that's cool. I want to shoot one of those.
And now you can do that. And oh, let me
(20:32):
throw this thought out to you. You don't necessarily have
to get it in the standard two, two, three or
five point five six cartridge. What if you got your
AR fifteen in twenty two rim fire. Oh, yes, a
twenty two rim fire. So you maybe say, well, I
(20:53):
already have an AIR fifteen, Great, but do you have
one in twenty two rim fire. Now you're talking about
a super fun gun, and you can get them where
all the controls work exactly the same. It feels like
a regular full sized AR fifteen, even to the point
of using the same fire control groups. You can place
the triggers on them, use the same AR fifteen triggers
in them now you're having a ton of fun. Talk
(21:15):
about a great way to introduce people to the shooting
sports AR fifteen and twenty two room fire, and if
you want to go a different direction, you can get
them in other larger calibers. Crazy number of different calibers
that are out there. Get Jim. I'm going to get
to that in just a minute. We got a lot
of possibilities out there. So the question on the floor
(21:38):
is for this coming year twenty twenty five, if you're
thinking I'm going to get a gun or several guns,
what would be on your list? I arbitrarily picked a
number of five. I may fund you on that. I
may go further than that. I have some other thoughts
out there, handguns, some long guns, some other things that
(22:01):
may or may not actually be classified as firearms. I
actually bought something today and then I sent a note
to Jim and he bought the same something. Talk about
that when we come back right back with me here
(22:24):
eight sixty six talk gun or Tom Talk Gun. I'll
get you in on Tom Gresham overall X. I am
at gun talk. You can follow me over there. I
was posting some things this morning or storry it up,
having some fun. Somebody was asking do you keep your
magazines loaded or unloaded? And showed a big pile of
air fifteen mags and you had the typical responses of, well,
(22:45):
you know, if you keep them loaded, it wears out
the springs weekends. The springs had no kind of old
wife's tales. Uh, loading them and unload them, does you
know affect the strength? But just load them does not.
But I thought I would offer a solution. I said, look,
I do keep my magazines loaded, but as a way
(23:06):
of preventing the springs from wearing out, I removed the
springs from the magazines before I load them, and then
I just sit back and wait for the responses. That's
always fine. Norman called in at our Grant's Pass, Oregon
with his list. Norman, we're talking five guns for twenty
(23:27):
twenty five. What are you thinking?
Speaker 12 (23:29):
Well, I asked myself a similar type of question that says,
you know, if my house is on fire, or if
I was desperate for money and I had to liquidate something,
what are the ones I wouldn't part with that I've already.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Got ah, okay.
Speaker 12 (23:50):
Okay, And so that runs through my mind more often
than i'd like to admit when I think of the
new gun I want to get, and I come down
to big, medium, are small, and two handguns. So I've
got a thirty at six thirty thirty and my ar
(24:15):
which will hunt just about anything I absolutely need to,
and a nice nineteen eleven forty five and a three
fifty seven which will also also fire your thirty eight
specials right show. That gives me quite a variety of
things that if I had to really pair down my collection,
(24:37):
I would want to hang on to those until I
just just had to do something different.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
I like your list a lot. Actually at dovetails pretty
closely in several respects to the list that I'm working
on here. But so here's the go other question. You
already have those. Is there anything you want to add
this year?
Speaker 12 (24:58):
Well, actually I just did add and I'm trying to
rein it in two eighty four Winchester that was gifted
to me, and I was thinking about telling you about
this is I found a load on Hornity or Huggden website.
(25:24):
It was just flat wrong. Really yeah, And so I've
actually sent them a note because I had to back
way off. They're even low end.
Speaker 13 (25:39):
Round.
Speaker 12 (25:40):
I blew up three shells, trying to even back it
down from the middle ground before I rained it in.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Let me ask you what kind of rifle A we're
shooting this in?
Speaker 12 (25:55):
This is a Winchester uh semi auto right?
Speaker 9 (26:04):
Uh that I was just.
Speaker 12 (26:08):
Scared the daylights out of me. And uh uh the
first round was my middle one, and so I backed
it down to my you know, nixt to lower and
even those uh it popped the primer and uh damaged
the brass, And you went, Okay, we're not using that powder.
(26:29):
Let me ask you later I did, was I I
went even lower and actually reined it in with that
powder because I just and I checked four other manuals
and they all had the same the same loads.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Okay, So that's what I was going to ask you.
If if you've had this, if there are other manuals
from other manufacturers that have the same load with the
same powder, something tells me that's not a problem with
the load. There's a problem with your system, whatever it is,
whether the bullet is seated out too far and jamming
into the lands, or your rifle chambers too tight or there.
(27:08):
Because if you if you had several different companies that
have essentially the same load. They published it, and they've
all tested that in their ballistic lab. The load's safe
in their rigs. So what's going on with yours?
Speaker 12 (27:21):
Well that's an interesting question then, because I switched to
a was it forty three to fifty? And I am
r and rain that in quite nicely on one hundred
and thirty nine grain bullet the hornity, I forget what
(27:42):
they are with the polymer tip ones.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Okay, let me ask you. I'm going to run out
of time, and I do want to ask you a
couple of questions here. Did you use the same bullet
on the load that developed too much pressure as the
load that did not, same.
Speaker 12 (27:56):
Brass, same primer, same bullet.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Yah, see, same overall cartridge length.
Speaker 12 (28:05):
And I actually even double checked all my measuring tools,
cross checked them with a manual scale as well as
my digital scale.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
Okay, then where this has leading me what we're doing
is we're starting to eliminate some variables here and the
variable that I'm landing on, and see if this is
making some sense to you? Have the powder? What powder
are you loading that developed too much pressure?
Speaker 12 (28:29):
I want to say it was forty three fifts up?
Excuse me?
Speaker 2 (28:37):
This is important. It could be forty. Here's what I'm thinking.
There could be a problem with your canister of powder.
And follow me on this. Everything else is the same,
Everything else is working in other loads. That powder is
the only problem in your load. But that powder worked
fine for all the manufacturers who are testing their powders
(28:58):
and texting these loads. Either it got stored in correctly,
something happened to it, it got cross pollinated, it got
cross contaminated. My vision would be looking at the powder
and trying to figure out what's going on there, whether
or not you want to try that into a different rifle,
different load, and see if you get a good result
(29:20):
with that powder there, or if you want to say,
you know what, why take a chance it's a pound
of powder, dump it out and do something else. But
I will be interested in hearing what you hear from them.
But I will tell you I think this is all
leading me to think you've got a problem with that
canister of powder.
Speaker 12 (29:40):
Interesting. I hadn't even thought that way. A good, good question,
and I will research it and send you a note
on it.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
That'd be great. I appreciate that. Hey got to run
to my break and we run a little bit along,
but I did not want to leave that one hanging.
That's important stuff. And when you get an issue like that,
you got to stop, as he did back up, say okay,
what's going on here? In this case? If you've got
the same loads being published by a number of different
companies and it's safe in all of them, the problem
is not with a published load. It's on your loading
(30:08):
bench or your rifle, and you got to figure it
all out, all right. The number here is Tom Talkgun.
That's because I'm Tom. We'll be right back.
Speaker 14 (30:21):
So what the heck is that car being that turns

The six Arc was developed to provide increased performance in
the M four AR fifteen platform. The six Arc pushes
a ninety grain dual performances at two six hundred and
fifty feet per second with over one four hundred foot
pounds of energy. The monolithic solid copper bullets design allows
pedals to separate after impact, spreading to create wound tracks
and significantly adding the terminal performance. This round is an
(32:16):
exceptional option for your modern sporting rifle. Black Hill's ammunition
the power of performance.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Back with you. I do want to follow up just
a second here. On our last call, we were talking
about a reloading load for a twoity four Winchester cartridge
and it developed excess pressure, and we're talking Norman about that,
and I want to explain kind of my thinking on that,
because this is an important information, good safety information for
(32:55):
everybody out there. I'm not worried about this being a
bad published load because if the same load, for instance,
if it's pick a number, whatever the number is, it's
sixty grains of this particular powder, and it appears in
several different loading managers from Hornity, Hodgeen and Nozler, you know, Barns,
(33:16):
then you go, okay, that's a standard load, and they
all have arrived at this and they all tested and
it's safe. So the published load is not the issue.
So where's the variable? What's going on? So the overall
cartridge length, he's using the same cartridge length, so the
bullets seated out to the same distance in other loads,
and it shoots fine in his rifle, So that's not
it's using the same brash, using the same powder, that's
(33:38):
not it. Where's the variable? The variable is he's having
a problem with this one powder. He's using Honestly, the
chances of getting a bad powder from the manufacturer are
really really low. To my way of thinking. The more
likely thing, what do they say when when you hear
hoof beats, think horses, not zebras or Ockham's razor. The
(33:59):
most like thing is some kind of cross contamination of
its powder. And here's how that happens, I'm explaining, and
what we do about that. You pour your powder out
of this can of powder into your powder measure, and
then when you're doneloading, you take it out of the
powder measuring for it back into the can of powder.
So the next time you can use a different powder.
(34:20):
If somehow you take that powder that's left in your
powder measure and you pour it into the wrong can
of powder, now you have a contamination. The powder that's
in this can of powder, a bottle or jar of powder,
whatever you have, is not what's labeled on it. It's
(34:41):
not the same thing that happens. And as a result,
we have come up, all of us reloaders have come
up with a way to kind of help prevent that,
and that is the rule is simple, only one can
of powder on your loading bench at a time, never
ever for more than one can of loading powder on
(35:02):
your bench. So if you're using forty three fifty, that's
the can that's there and nothing else up here. It
sits on top of your loading bench so that you're
always working with that, and then the powder comes out
of your powder measure goes back in the can and
you know you're getting the right thing, and that goes
back into storage in a cabinet or shelf that's not
your loading bit. So simple rule for reloaders, only one
(35:25):
type of powder, one can or canister of powder on
your loading bench at a time. I just wanted to
go ahead and work on that because there are people
who are taking up reloading and they may have heard that, thought, wow,
that's the deal. Said yes, guard against cross contamination of
your powders. All right, let's go talk to Neil on
line two out of Tucson, Arizona. Neil, we're talking about
(35:46):
guns we may want to get for this coming year.
You got any.
Speaker 17 (35:51):
Yes on my Christmas list sometime for next year to
be an air fifteen pistol in a nine millimeter with
a integral suppressed. The problem is, I can't find a
lot of companies that make intepolice or press burals.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
So are you looking for an integerly suppressed nine that
is a car being?
Speaker 17 (36:13):
I can go either way. I prefer a pistol, though
I don't.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Know of any. I basically what you just said. There
may be something out there, but none come to mind.
You can definitely find them in car beings because you've
got some more room to work with. But I'm not
sure I've run into any handguns yet.
Speaker 17 (36:32):
I found the barrel out on silence or a code.
There's one company that makes them, and it just depends
on when they have them in stock.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Ah. Okay, okay. So do you have an AR where this?
Would this be your first r No?
Speaker 17 (36:46):
I have a few ars already.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Okay, so you just want to get another one?
Speaker 12 (36:51):
Yes, of course.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
That's the right answer, because there's so much fun they are,
aren't they. It's like and people say, well, do you
have an A feed?
Speaker 8 (37:00):
No?
Speaker 2 (37:00):
I don't have it, and AR fifteen I have several.
It's like golf clubs. You know you can't. You don't
go out with one golf club. You have different ones
for different uses, and same with ars. You have different
rifles set up different ways for different uses. At least
that's my uh, that's my rationalization, and you can always
go SBR if you want to go that way. For
that great information. I appreciate the call, SIRT. I got
(37:23):
to get back to my list here because I mentioned
the AR fifteen. Number two on my list that I
think people should have if if you don't have one,
is a three fifty seven magnum revolver. Yeah, revolver, old
school retro if you will. Why well, mostly because they're
just fun, Mostly because you could also shoot thirty eight
(37:45):
special in them, which makes me more fun to shoot.
But a three fifty seven cartridge in a revolver is
a lot of power. It's a great self defense tool,
it's a great home defense tool, and they're just fun
to shoot. If you're into guns. If you're not into revolvers,
you need to go ahead and get yourself a revolver.
Having said that, and let me go ahead and start
(38:06):
letting the cats stick its nose out of the bag.
Ever so slightly. You may want to hold off for
a few weeks on a revolvever because something may be
coming along that has never been done before. From your
(38:27):
good friends here at gun Talk, that's all I can
say right now. But who knows what's coming down the
road here. We've been busy. We have been talking to
some interesting folks. We've been up to stuff around here
and having a good time. So, five guns you need
in twenty twenty five? What would be on your list?
(38:50):
I have two or three or four others, because since
it's my list, I'm not actually limited to five. I
make up my own rule. Get right back back with
it here eight six six talk gun on Tom Gresham. Okay,
(39:12):
I got to fill out my list here. So I
was doing the five guns you need in twenty twenty five,
I may not be limited to five, all right. I
listed the AR fifteen. It is my first choice. A
three to fifty seven magnum revolver or a revolver of
some type as my second choice. Third choice is a
pistol caliber car being fun stuff, great fun to shoot,
a little car being rifle, short rifle in a nine
(39:35):
milimeter of forty maybe even a ten with a ten milimeter.
When you go from like a four inch barrel, five
inch barrel on your pistol to a sixteen inch barrel
on a rifle, you will pick up anywhere from three
hundred to five hundred feet per second with some loads
in ten milimeter out of a pistol caliber car being
(39:57):
you're getting the energy levels that are about the same.
But it's a two two, three, amazing, amazing stuff. And
you get folding stocks on a lot of these, and
they're very little recoil like with a nine at least,
and just fun to shoot, and also frankly, a really
good home defense rig. And it may be one that
(40:18):
you want to be able to go discrete someplace in
a pack of some sort or a satchel, and with
a folding stock you've got that option as well. And
many times you can get a pistol caliber carbine that
takes the same magazines as your handgun that you're carrying. Interesting,
all right, for number five on my list, and because
(40:40):
hey it's my list, right, I can make up the rules,
uh for the gun. This number five is actually not
a gun at all I'm going to throw out for you.
If you don't have one, you ought to get a suppressor.
You've been pretty good off this long, you have been
intrigued by it, and now the wait times are no
(41:01):
longer close to a year. The waytime forgetting your tax
stamp is a week something like that, two weeks maybe.
And the people over at cydnocentral dot com which I
work with, a good bit. They make it really easy
to hold your hand. But it's not difficult anyway. And look,
even if you just got a suppressor for a twenty
(41:22):
two pistol that has a thread barrel, you're going to
have so much fun. Let me just tell you a
red dot on a semi out a pistol with a
suppressor is I mean, you just go to town on it. It
makes virtually no noise. Tik tik having a big old
time out there. If you don't have a suppressor, I'm
(41:43):
going to suggest that twenty twenty five is your year.
You need to do that. Just I'm just telling you
some other thoughts. I mean, it's long, we're going to
go retro. If you don't have a lever action, can
I suggest you take a look at that. If you say, well,
I've got all the other stuff, Tom, Yeah, But if
you don't have a lever action, maybe you ought to
get one of those. And there are a lot of
(42:05):
really good ones out there. Crazy I mean Smithy Wesson
has lever action, Savage has lever action. I mean everybody's
got lever actions, it seems like these days. And then,
as long as we're at it, could you have a
list like this and it's not online, but it should
be and not include a shotgun of some sort? If
you said, with my if you're going to build a
(42:27):
five gun battery, you know things that I just have
to have, how about a pump shotgun? Wouldn't that be
something to everybuy out to have? I mean you could
use buy a cheap you know, buy a police trade
in whatever. A pump shot gun is just a really
(42:48):
good tool. And the thing that makes it so good
is you can use all these different kinds of amily.
You can use bird shot, you can use buckshot, you
can shoot slugs in them, you can use light loads,
you can use heavy load. Yeah, I think maybe a
pump shotgun is something you ought to have on your list.
But then again, hey, this is my list, it's not
(43:08):
your list, So the lines are over. If you want
to join us with your list, which guns would you
want to add to your list in twenty twenty five?
Give me a holler? Also, where are we going this
coming year with gun rights? Have we maxed out on
the successes or are there more to come and what
happens under Donald Trump with the ATF and the Department
(43:31):
of Justice. And we've got some smart people going to
be joining us to talk about that, and you could
be a part of that too. You don't want to
miss this. This is gun talk.
