Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the ultimate buyo harness review right here on gun
Talk Hunt. Hey, I'm kJ, dedicated lifelong hunter. Here. If
you've got an interest in all things hunting, you're in
the right spot. Whether chasing quail across the plains of
Oklahoma or in pursuit of belk in the back country
of British Columbia, you'll always find me on the hunt.

(00:20):
All right, welcome in, all you gun talk hunters. I'm
your host, kJ, and today is by No Harness Review
Day because I got one for Christmas. I just picked
one up in the mail, and you know what, there's
a lot of things to love about these But first
we are brought to you by Silencer Central and Range
Ready Studios and Ruger Firearms. Go check them out. Okay,

(00:45):
we're gonna do a short disclaimer here. If you're listening
to this over the airways, one thank you. I really
appreciate it. It's not easy hearing my voice through the airways.
I do appreciate that I am by myself on this one,
so you will be drowned out by my lovely, soothing voice.
And I'm gonna be showing off a lot of gear,

(01:08):
a lot of bino harnesses and attachments and stuff like that.
What I like, what I don't like about a lot
of these. So you're gonna wanna like, tune into the video.
Tune in the video because you're gonna see the intricacies
of these bino harnesses. I've got Vortex, I've got Kafaro,
I've got TNK, I've got Hornity, I've got Armageddon gear.

(01:29):
So those are really what I'm gonna be talking about.
I do have a loophole not on me today because
it is tucked away, and there's probably a reason why
I'm not using that one. But these all are have
been used, and I think you will enjoy because there

(01:51):
there are little things that I find by using the product.
And most of these have been purchased with my own dollar,
and some of them I've bought multiple times. And I'll
tell you that reason why when I get there. It's
not because anything's faulty. It's because, man, people love them.

(02:12):
And when I'm out, I don't mind sharing. Sharing is caring, right, Okay,
So let's start off and we're I think what I
should do, and what's probably the smartest thing to do
is probably start off with something that is old, that
is trusty that I appreciate on an easy hunt, because

(02:37):
those hunts sometimes, man, they're just what I like. It's
an easy hunt. I don't have to think about it.
It has all the basic necessities you need in a
bino harness. And that's the hornity bino case. Now, I
do have some stuff pulled up on my computer that

(02:59):
I we'll be glancing at. So if I'm not completely
looking into your eyes, one, you probably are going to
be disappointed. But two, it's because I want to get
this right. Like I don't know all the little details
of them, but man, I know what makes a good
bino harness, and I know and these are all mine.
I did not I have a problem. I guess the

(03:22):
first thing I should say is, Hi, my name is kJ.
I have a bino harness problem. I love testing them out,
I love using them. I use them all the time,
whether it's in a PRS match or NRL Hunter match.
Typically not in a PRS match because those are a
little bit slower, you have time, like you don't need

(03:43):
all that gear on. But in NRL Hunter matches, which
I have recently, like just glommed onto and now I'm
like shooting three or four this year. These are very
important and each has their place. But starting out with
a hornity bino case, Okay, this one is forty five dollars.

(04:04):
It is forty five dollars. That is an easy expense
for you. What you are going to notice that comes
in ten, That's it. It had a Hornity logo on
the front. And I love the Hornity logo. I shoot
their amo like pretty much exclusively, especially when it comes
to NURL. But Ryan, he kept getting onto me. He

(04:28):
was like, hey, like, we want to try to be
as like non exclusive like and I know, like we
we shoot Hornity, but when we're filming like a video
for another another m company or something, I can't have
you wearing a hornity bino horness. So I lanced to
that like that's gone. But in the front pocket, what

(04:50):
you're going to notice right here, I'm going to show
it in this little camera here, you have a front
access pocket that has some caseholders for your AMMO and
other little straps in here. Now, the front pocket is
a crucial part of your bino harness because you'll keep
I keep pins in there, you know, I keep my

(05:11):
tags in there that way, like it's all on me.
At all times like this biny harness goes where I
do on the hunt, whether you like, even if I'm
dropping my main pack, this is always on me. And
so that's what's one tip when looking for a bino
harness is, you know, make sure you have a spot

(05:32):
for a pin and your tags or you know, your
licenses and stuff like that. And a lot of them
come with something on the backside, with a zippered pouch
which you're gonna see through this. Uh, you know, it
has padded sides. It definitely keeps the binos very safe.
It's it's a little over built for forty five bucks,

(05:53):
and I don't mind saying that because it fits a
wide range of bino's. You know, a lot of these
like a T and K or like a kafaro like
you may have like size a size range that you
can select from that'll fit your binos, but these are
nice that it fits a wide range. I've got a

(06:14):
pair of old man. These are old. These are some
old Bushnell fusion binos in here. Pretty standard size ten
by forty two's, which is what a lot of folks
use out there, and they fit great. This is my
son's bino harness. Now, I don't mind passing this on

(06:35):
because I know it is quality. It's got the latches
here on the back. You know, the heavy duty zippers
are very nice. That this one measures seven and a
half inches by ten point two inches by three point
four inches deep. So, and one thing that is very

(06:55):
interesting is this has kind of a spaced front pocket.
And I'll show it right in here. There's a space
in here with some extra shell case holders. That's really
nice if you, you know, if you need a few
extra rounds, and the front pocket has already been filled
up with pins or something. They're nice, they're easy to access.

(07:19):
But overall, man, let's let's go ahead and do this.
Let's grade them. Let's grade them on a scale of one.
I would never use this thing again to ten, absolutely baller.
You need to buy it. I would probably. I would
give this a solid like six on the kJ scale.

(07:42):
It's right in the middle of the road. It's a
great price, it does what you need. Sor right. That's
the hornity buyo case. All right, let's move on. So, man,
I don't know where to move to. There's so many
up here. Let's go on to the next one that
I've used the most recent I've used, and I used

(08:04):
this one in an Arizona on an NRL Hunter match.
And if you know anything about NRL Hunter matches, there's
positions where you have to get down in the dirt.
You've got, you're rolling around, you're moving positions, you're accessing
those binos very quickly. And the Vortex Glass Pack pro

(08:28):
Bino Harness. Now, this is a bulky sucker right here.
It looks massive. Okay, that's just because I have a
handwarmer on the bottom of it, which is a nice
molly attachment so you can we It has a kind
of a molly weave to it so you can put
multiple accessories on this. Now it has Man, there's just

(08:55):
so much to this thing. Get it out of the way.
This thing is one hundred and third five bucks. So
what do you get for one hundred and thirty five bucks?
They say you get peace of mind and fact access
to essential gear. What I find you get is you
get the ability to kind of customize your pack the

(09:17):
way you want, and it has this. One of my
favorite things on this is the zipper access The zippers
are it looks like waterproof seam to me, and it
is durable. So the length on it is three and
a half inches, heighth seven point three inches with six

(09:39):
and a half inches, and the weight is fourteen point
two ounces. So what is featuring is is man, this
is all marketing speak right here is what they have.
And I'm like, quick release buckles. Let me just tell you.
All of these have those, so I'm not going to
touch on that again. Like so when you're putting on
your harness, the quick release buckles, they all have it,

(10:01):
but there are a couple that stand out in that department.
And I'll tell you why. Uh the quiet microfiber interior.
So you're gonna see and hear it's a very silent
It's silent. Use is what this is. It does have
feels like a magnet. Oh it doesn't. That's not a magnet.

(10:22):
That's unfortunate. Magnets should be on everything. I mean, it
just should. But okay, the modular really, man, the modularity
of this pack is very nice. The outside uh straps,
they tend to man, they tend to fold under the

(10:45):
binal harness. They don't They're they're pretty loose, so they
don't like stick out, so they're a little hard to find.
Like so when you put your pack on, they'll fold
under your biny harness. And to me, it's more of
an annoyance, like it's it'll just fold under there, and
it's kind of annoying when you're trying to find it.

(11:06):
You know, you've got a little bit more bulky clothing
on and you're sitting there doing the the bino harness
shuffle trying to find that backstrap. We've all been there.
It's okay, like that's fine, but okay, cool things about this.
I mentioned the zippers very nice. The I will tell

(11:28):
you this much. When you get to rip on this
little strap here with the zipper, you're gonna lose it.
I'm like looking at it now, and there is a
definitive gap and if you hit that at the right angle,
you will pull that strap out. So that's going to
be a problem. The closure, the lid closure on it

(11:51):
catch us on your binos. Okay, I don't. I don't
like that. And that's another thing that's a small annoyance.
You got to rip that lid open, and it's a
front closure, so it lays open towards the front. When
it is open, it's open, but it will catch on
the focal adjustment on your binos that that pivot point there.

(12:15):
So these are well built and you can it looks
like replace the strap. That's another little sticking point for
me is the attachment straps that you have in the back,
so right around the neck area, right around at its

(12:36):
highest point where it rests every single ounce on your shoulders,
like right at that point. And if you're carrying some
heavy stuff in there, like your binos are heavier for
all day it is. It's it's horrible. I don't like it.

(12:57):
I don't like it, and that's a problem. But I
do like the fact that you have the ability to
change these out that that will be the first thing
I would change for it. They do have a tether
here in the back for like a you know, a

(13:17):
U rangefinder, which is great. I like it. I like
to tether it. They have tether points with the quick
quick release clips for your binos. I like that. It
gives you the option. One one funny thing I do
notice that Vortex did on this was they they made

(13:41):
them opposite and instead of same side clips, same side
quick release clips. One is a male in and the
other is a female in, which make them both male ends.
Like I don't. I don't understand that because I get

(14:03):
it and I just assume, like putting these together, that
that's the way the clips go. The quick release clips
go on my bino's and I put them on and
it's backwards. That Like that's another little sticking point. Man.
I don't I'm not. I don't mean to rip this
biny harness that bad. But little things like that, man,

(14:27):
And like it's like, why don't you just do it normal?
Like do it normal? Right? It's anyway the attachments, Like
we've got to talk about the ultimate ways they like
the many ways you can customize this to you. You
can run it as a singular one hundred and thirty

(14:48):
five dollars pro bino harness. You can run it as that.
And if you're just getting into this and you're not
sure what you need, run it as a bino harness first.
Like this is not like a whole table where you
need to put every little attachment on it. You may
need only one, you may need there. Uh, they're muff.

(15:09):
They're I guess it's they're calling it. They're pro hand muff.
This handwarmer is awesome, Like this is probably the best
handwarmer I found that attaches to a biny harness. It
is warm. When you're sitting there on a cold morning
at an NRL match, you throw you can throw your

(15:31):
ammo in here if you need that to heat up
with a hot hand. It's awesome. Like I'm telling you what,
Like it is really cool. But like you can take
this one and attach it to some others. Like so,
if you're looking for a handwarmer to attach your you know,

(15:51):
to another biny harness, you may have that has molly
attachments at the base of your biny harness. The pro
hand muff will cost you like eighty four bucks on
Vortexa's website. That's really nice. And it has a soft,
quiet front pocket on the hand muff. So you're kind
of running double duty here. You can keep all your

(16:14):
stuff in there. Man, on cold winter mornings when you're hunting.
I will tell you, like a handwarmer like pocket that's
fuzzy lined and soft is great. The problem comes in
when you don't need it and then it's just bulk there.

(16:35):
It's I mean, it's it's light, you know. I'm not
worried about the weight. I'm just worried about it capturing everything.
Like when I was jumping down on the ground at
the NRL match, like it gathered so much dust and
dirt in that pouch. Kind of got a little bit annoying,
but you just shake it out. Not a big deal.
Like again, it's one of those annoyances. There are little

(16:58):
side pockets on the Probino harness that are really nice,
like if you were gonna hold like calls or something
like that, that you can stick them right there. And
then it has more of like a it's a compressed
pouch in the back of the Bino harness, which is
a nice that's gonna keep all your licenses and everything.
I would love to see that zipper. Who I've got

(17:19):
something in there? What did I put in there? Oh, dudewives.
You definitely need those and multiple dude wives, so that's nice.
But they also do you know a pro small zipper
pouch for these, like you can attach these like you
can customize any way you want a large zipper pouch
and a pro Bear spray pouch, which is awesome. That's

(17:43):
such a good idea. And they also have a pro holster,
so you you more of a universal holster. And I've
got my gosh, I've got too much crap up here.
It's up here, somewhere, oh here it is. So this
is the pro glass pack holster. It's more of a
universal holster right here. I do like that aspect of it.

(18:07):
You can make it right or left handed. Uh draw.
But again, what's beautiful about Vortex products is there's an
unlimited lifetime warranty. Right here. I have the bear spray pouch.
I use this for my kestral, like I would just
keep my kestrel in there close. The top worked freaking awesome.

(18:29):
And I've got here's the small zippered pouch, which that's
gonna be your rangefinder. And I'm gonna, like, I'm gonna
show you how quiet these zippers are. So like all
you bow hunters out there, you're like, man, I don't know,
Like I hate zippers and I like magnetic closures. Totally
agree with you. But like, I mean, it's pretty quiet.

(18:51):
I think you can really be quiet with that. It's
got a soft interior lining, It's got a couple pockets
in here, so man, I mean, Vortex is doing it right.
There's just a few little key points on these that
are just slightly they're slightly annoying to be honest with you,

(19:15):
and sometimes like I want it to be as efficient
as possible and it's just not that way. So that
is the Vortex pro Biny harness. I think it's an
overall great price. If this would kind of be my
mid tier, like kind of a do all things, like

(19:35):
if you get all the attachments. Man, if you wanted
to go on a hike and you want to go
fly fishing in the back country, you can attach your holster,
your bear spray pouch, and have glass on you at
all the same times and plenty of pockets. You know,
if you're a stand hunter, I think this is a
great option for you. With the you know, the hand muff,

(20:00):
I probably would say this is a seven for me.
This is a seven out of ten, you know. With
them giving you the option to switch out your strap
and the harness itself, I think that's huge. And there's
a couple up here that I would instantly switch them

(20:22):
out for just just off the top of my head,
Like the Kafaru. This harness, it's fantastic because it's it
distributes the weight evenly and the vortex as it stands now,
it pinpoints that pressure right, I mean right at the
base of the neck and just a little bit annoying.

(20:44):
All right, I'm getting rid of that one. But you
know what, We're going to take a break right here,
and when I come back, we've got t n K
armagedding gear Kafaru. So some big companies coming up and
check their bino harnesses after this. All right. We appreciate

(21:06):
all our sponsors, and they are wonderful sponsors. One of
those is Ruger. Have you heard about the new ten
twenty two carbon fiber Yeah? How cool is that? Okay,
we got one of the office and here's what I
want to use this sucker for. What I want to
use this for is really squirrel hunting, because I think
it would be awesome because it's lightweight. I mean, it's

(21:27):
ten twenty two, so we know the action is going
to be money you can buy after make market magazines
to hold. I don't know however many you want twenty
twenty two. They're awesome carbon fiber wrapped barrels, so lightning
that up a little bit. The one I got weighs
three and a half pounds. So the great thing about

(21:50):
that is is I can turn my ten year old
loose and you know, I mean he's a little he's
a smaller guy, and like doesn't have all the strength
in the world, but he can hold up three and
a half pounds for dang. Sure, So put a little
red dot on it and let him go loose, like,
let him go run the tree rows and have him
shooting cans and critters and all that kind of stuff.

(22:12):
So awesome deal there. So the stock is a textured
white speckled black Magpole moe X twenty two stock the
link of pool, which is also great for youth shooters
thirteen and a half inches, which one hundred percent love that.
And the BX trigger is two and a half to

(22:32):
three pounds adjustable, So if you're looking I don't think
it's adjustable, But if you're looking for a new twenty two,
the Ruger ten twenty two carbon fiber is absolutely it.
Range Ready Studios range Ready Studios dot Com is happy
to sponsor gun dot com because how do you get

(22:52):
better at hunting if you can't press a trigger correctly?
Oh but kJ they don't offer any bolt action rifle
classes or are hunting classes not yet. I'd be cool,
that'd be cool to offer I would love to get
some of you guys in here to press a trigger
with me. But if you know how to press a
trigger and control every shot. And Chris Serno always says

(23:16):
when I break a shot, he goes, what did you see?
What did you feel? That translate directly into hunting, like,
when I press off that shot, what are you really seeing?
What did you really feel? Did you feel like that
shot was good? Okay, if you did, what did you see?

(23:37):
All right? Those are questions that you get asked in
these classes at range Ready Studios that are thought provoking
and educational. So if you're looking for a reason to
take a pistol class to better you're hunting, I think
that's it. I think we've just answered that for you.
So check out our class schedule range ready studios dot

(23:58):
com to learn more. All Right, we're back. I'm your
host kJ and we're doing an ultimate Biny Harness review.
This is all the bino harnesses that I have and
one that's not quite a biny harness, but it could
be and it could be great. Okay, let's jump over

(24:20):
to all right, I guess no, I don't want to
do that one. I don't want to do that one.
Man We're gonna jump to the Armageddon gear. This is
the big game chest rig Bino harness. Now, this is
made of wax canvas, and I have kind of waxed

(24:44):
it up here. I've got wax all over it. Now.
On their website they say this is a tan waxed bag.
So I'm either color blind or I don't know what
the color tan looks like, because this looks an awful

(25:05):
like green to me. I mean, there's a little tan
on it, but this seems to be green to me.
I was hoping. I was really when I we I
got this as a Christmas present. It's very nice. It
is two hundred dollars. That's a good Christmas present. And

(25:26):
if you are looking if someone's going to buy you
a lifetime long hunting companion, like for two hundred bucks,
that's going to reside on your chest, and it's gonna
make it through thick and thin. It's God. I mean,
this is gonna be it. This is a great one.

(25:49):
But again there are some issues that I did not
realize this. When I was like, Hey, this will be
a cool one. This will be a cool Christmas present,
I did not realize it. I did. I should have
done a little bit more research, and that's why I'm
trying to help you guys, like I'm trying to give
you all these little key points. This is a big
bial harness, like the small footprint of the Vortex, which

(26:12):
I believe it really is a small foot in my
heart of hearts, that is a small footprint aside from
all of the attachments. That is a small, small compared
to the Army gedding gear, big game chest rig biny harness. Okay,
magnetic closures. Love it all right forward and not forward, yes,

(26:35):
forward and back. So on the front end like when
you close it, it's magnetized and there is not. There
is one zipper on this pack, and it's right in
the front. I would have liked to have seen a
zipper pocket in the back. I like a zipper back pocket.

(26:56):
It just feels better to me. It feels more secure.
That's where my license and tags usually go because I
know there's no way of them escaping. Now. In the
front pocket usually I'm sticking something like a like some
extra rounds that's allowed zipper to me. I wish, I

(27:18):
wish they would have figured out what Vortex did, because
those zippers are pretty quiet. But for carrying purposes. This
is very comfortable. This is the Armageddon gear, big game chest.
Just name it your pro like vortext did it is?

(27:39):
It is great like this, but you are not attaching
anything else. It is what it is. There are no
additions to this, There is no changing things out which
is I mean, it's it's what it is. It's a
bino harness. The wax canvas aspect. I really like wax

(27:59):
canvas in the field. They always like, they always wear
really well. You have two large, large pockets on either
side of the bino harness itself. These are sealed up.
They are there there so you can put a kestrel
in there. You can put your game calls, uh rangefinder there.

(28:22):
They seem to be a little deep for rangefinder. Just
gonna throw that out there. They seem a little deep
for a rangefinder. And I think if you had a
smaller rangefinder, I've got one in here. Some again, there's
too many bins, there's too many chest rais on here.
You go here, I'll take this little rangefinder out here.

(28:44):
This is a list. Look what this is. This is
a six hour uh and it is deep and it's
yeah for me, that's too deep. When you're running a rangefinder,
I like it to be near the top. That way
I can access it very quickly. There are no tethers

(29:05):
or your range finder. Not too concerning for me. I
usually don't run a tether on my rangefinder. But getting
this out is a little bit more difficult. This is
a little bit more difficult, and I'm not much of
a fan of that. I like stuff easily accessible, you know,
when you start having like zippers that I've got to

(29:27):
undo and find it all takes time. Now on the backside,
you have a mesh webbing back here. That is it is,
I mean, it is what it is, like, I mean,
they're just large pockets. They're just large pockets. And I
think you can hear kind of my disappointment in the voice.

(29:50):
It's like, come on, guys, let's go zippered. Let's go zippered,
like on the at least one of these back pockets,
like make one of them a zipper, do something. But
they're just webbing, large pockets, which I mean, I don't know.
They say, well organized, Maybe this would make a better

(30:12):
NRL rig than a hunting rig because a kestrel fits
in here perfectly. Like so I have no issues with that.
You know, you can keep pens and stuff in the
other thing. I guess extra round, maybe an extra mag
if a mag would fit in there, but I don't

(30:34):
think that's gonna work. So this one, to me was
I just armagedd and gear. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.
I'm just disappointed. And that's why I like on this one.
And it's such it's so bulky. You know, when I
put this sucker on, it takes up a lot of

(30:57):
real estate. It is a large, large unit. And you know,
the magnetic I love it. I love the wax canvas.
You know, there's ample room for you know, you're ten
by forty two's, maybe a couple of twelve by fifties.
But man, this is I would say this this one

(31:20):
is definitely for the guy that wants to go into
camp and kind of flex that. Hey I've got a
two hundred dollars bino harness. Yeah, but man, can we
can we lighten up the footprint because there's a lot
of space here to allow it to flex. There's a
lot of space right there. Man, I feel like they

(31:40):
can they can enclose that. I think they can shriek
the strength the overall footprint of this quite a bit.
But you know, I talk about armagedding gear a lot,
but it's usually in bat wax canvas shooting bags and
they do a phenomenal job on everything else. This one, though,
I think they need to take back to the drawing

(32:02):
board and give the folks a little bit more versatility
in their gear rather than this is it, This is
all you got. But maybe I should make Chris run
this for for NRL Hunter. I think I might. I
might have him run this for n R Hunter and
just see what he thinks about it. But yeah, magnetic

(32:24):
closures are the way to go on binal harnesses, is
what I find, and that's what this has. But overall,
like if I'm giving you an honest assessment, and this
was a Christmas gift and I am so appreciative, appreciative
of it, but I've got to give this on a
four and that that's like that hurts my soul to

(32:47):
give something from Armageddon Gear a four. I'm sorry Armageddon
Gear a bit. It's just it's just a miss for
me on that. All right, let's lighten the mood up
a little bit. I apologize for being such a debbie
downer on that one. But hey, this is an honest

(33:09):
look at the gear that I've got in front of me,
the gear that I have paid for or that I
got as gifts. So let's move on. I'm going to
go on to my newest acquisition, which is a Kafar Room. Okay, Now,
this is a deluxe Bino harness from card Kafaro. It
is one hundred and seventy five bucks. One hundred and

(33:30):
seventy five bucks. Now that man, I would say, this
is towards the higher end. And if this one screams
to me, You've got custom gear made four hunters by hunters,
by guys that are in the field, by guys that
are on the line. And I've used this one a

(33:53):
couple of times and I'm going to use it in
some matches coming up. I might be in love with
this a little too much. And I'm not scared to
say that because they've trunk. They've trunked a footprint. Now
here's something that you're gonna love. Now. They do send
a very basic backstrap back like a harness with it.

(34:16):
I replaced that with something I thought would be just
as good, and it's called the Hydro harness. Now one
thing Kafaro does good and they've done it throughout their packs,
through all their gear. They're all their gear is pretty
much modular and can switch between itself and you can

(34:37):
customize it. And it's made here in the USA, which
is awesome. But this deluxe bind a harness is is
freaking cool. And the hydro harness it looks huge, and
I know, I just I just ripped Armageddon Gear for

(34:57):
being too bulky. But this has a place, this has
a function, and if I don't want to use it,
I don't have to. Armagedding Gear said, we're not going
to offer any any ability to change this how you want.
But this sucker. So you got the closure on it.

(35:18):
I wish it was magnetic, but it laces over. It's
kind of got a sword strap, but it lays nicely,
so it lays over the front. This is a front
opening harness or a bino harness. It is nice. I
don't think it's not as rigid or as tight on

(35:39):
ten by forty two binos as like the Vortex is.
And I like that I can I can fit a
bigger pair of binos in here quite easily. Mesh webbing
soft for your caps. So like for your eyepieces, for
your binos, it's soft and won't it shouldn't collect dust.

(36:00):
I haven't noticed it collecting like any residue or anything
like that, so it won't dump into your binos. And
they just looks good like. You have attachments points, Molly
attachment points here in the front of the bino harness.
Now there is no front pocket. There is no front pocket,

(36:22):
and I don't I'm not a fan of that, but
they made up for it because they put Molly attachments
on it and they sell accessories that you can put
on the front of this for an additional pocket, like
for more storage. So I do love that at least
they give you an option. They've got two pockets here
on this each side that are tight. I mean, you're man,

(36:47):
you're fitting a call in there. Maybe, I mean some
pins would stay in there. So that's nice. On the outside, man, See,
even on the outside, you have the ability to change
these pockets out. This is going to be a rangefinder

(37:07):
pocket on the outside, and on the other side is
an even larger pocket. Man. I think both of them
would work great as No, this is definitely the so
this is the rangefinder pocket and it allows easy access
and when you close it, it kind of locks into place.
So when there's like a lip on the lid and

(37:31):
when you close it, it like holds firm. So I
dig that. I like it. It doesn't really fold in
on itself as much. So when you're doing the bino
harness shuffle and you throw it back there, you're going
to be able to find those closures really easily. So
two things, you can change out into the hydro harness

(37:53):
like I did, and I'm going to show you the
hydro harness, so this will take like your three milimeter
like water bladder and give you access like that. They
also have an outside pocket on the hydro harness to
put anything else. So where I find this very useful
is if I just want to do like a half

(38:15):
day hunt, or if I'm I'm leaving my pack behind
to do a final approach or something like that, something
like this is key and and it does look bulky,
but like if you're going scouting or anything like that,
this is going to be what you take with you
and then you don't have to carry you know, a
pack and a bino harness like so, so the ability

(38:39):
to do both things is huge for me, and changing
out from a hydro harness to a regular bino harness
strap is easy. So I keep the one that is
sent with the bino harness and I just switch out
the hydro harness for when I need it. Uh So

(38:59):
that I love. And if you'll notice, what's really cool
about this and everything I swear it's everything Kafaru does
is they are very good at making sure like everything
can be attached to everything, Like if I needed, you know,
to strap this on, or someone fix it to a pack,

(39:23):
if I'm hiking out somewhere, or am I carrying an
animal out, they make it possible, like there are attachment
points where you can go. All right, I'm gonna just
throw this on here. It's awesome they've figured it out.
But the zippers are a little loud. I mean, they've
got a tether inside for like your keys, which two

(39:46):
of us out in the field I'm raising my hand
right now, has lost their keys in the field? Anybody? No?
Just me? All right, well you guys are better than me.
But a tether is a nice option to have on
something like this. You can tether your keys in. But
it's a shallower pocket, so it doesn't run the length.

(40:07):
But you open up the hydro harness top pack, you've
got plenty of storage. So even if you weren't running
a water bladder in this thing, you have a lot
of stuff that you can throw in there if you
need to throw in a pair of moccasins or anything
for your final approach and you're walking up, I mean,

(40:29):
throw them in there, you know. So there's lots of
space with this. The shoulder straps are padded, which is
a nice ability to have, Like it's very comfortable. So
and it's offered in ranger green black or coyote brown. So,
and the bino bucket comes in a small medium are

(40:50):
large so I mean, and then they give you the option.
Another nice option is like harnesses like they coming a
regular or an excel. Where that's nice is is when
you start thinking of like if you're gonna use this
largely for cold weather hunts or anything like that, like

(41:11):
the biny harness, like getting a little bit bigger straps,
or if you're just a bigger dude, Like that's a
nice option to have, is just to have an XL
biny harness, which is not offered in any of these others.
So that's that's a great option. So all right, let's score.

(41:32):
Let's score the Kafaro and I'm I'm gonna be honest
with you. I'm gonna give this one a solid solid eight.
I would I would go out and buy this again.
I would go go buy this again. This is a
it's hard to get nines and tens like cause I
don't think there's one of these in here that is

(41:54):
one hundred percent perfect, Like no one has made that yet.
This is really close. The kafar U is really close.
And that is k I F A r U. I
have three of their packs, like I love I love
this company. I will love what they stand for. They

(42:15):
are doing a great job out there in Wyoming. So
we're gonna get rid of that, all right, here we go.
This one is for all you guys that want to
buy no Harness but don't want like the bucket, they
want different attachment points. This is also for Kafaru. This
is called the Steelhead chest rig Now not a by

(42:38):
no Harness, but kind of of the same. Ilk I'm
gonna start with the harness. They have molly attachments down
here at the base of it, which if you needed
to put anything else on, you know, like I mean,
you could if you had a vortex small zippered pouch,
you could put that on it. But Kafar all So

(43:00):
sells a bunch of different accessories as well. But if
you had different Mally attachments, if you had I don't
know why you would put a magazine pouch on the
back of your back, but if you needed it just
in case, you could throw it on there with a
Malli attachments right here, very soft padded webbing on the back,
so that's nice. And it's breathable. So some of these

(43:23):
nyl harnesses, the harnesses are not breathable. They're more like
they're a thin like sheet. This is breathable. Water will
flow through it nicely. But the steelhead I mean is
for like a final approach, a last you know. I mean,
I would use this as a turkey vest too. I mean,

(43:45):
I mean you could put all your calls up front.
It has two pockets in the front, which is cool.
Actually it's got three because there's one behind the belcrow
webbing here. And it does have have a gun pouch
in the back, so an easily accessible pouch in the back.
So if you're in the back country, if you're I'm

(44:08):
assuming like the steelhead. They're thinking of those you know,
fly anglers and stuff like that that want to, you know,
carry a gun right here. They got that option. You
stick all kinds of stuff in there, like that's a
that's a robust pouch right there. I got no issues
with that. What I would have liked to have seen
from this is a zippered back pouch. I think that

(44:30):
that would have been a nice addition to this. And
they have ample room here in the back to do
you know the front pouch. Let's talk about that, the
front pouch the main compartment, if you will. They do
have your zippered pouch in there, like a zippered mesh

(44:53):
pouch which can allow water to flow through if you
go under or something like that. They have three pouches
in the back here. Again very cool, very great, a
great design. And you can throw a pair of binos
in here. I don't I don't see why you wouldn't
let me pull out these Siga the man. I think

(45:14):
these are the the image stabilizing binos, the Zulu sixes
game changer. Let me tell you these suckers are awesome.
Maybe not for the bino harness they're in and I'll
tell you that here in a second. But you can
throw I mean in the back pouch. You can throw
your bino's in there. Let's see if I can get

(45:34):
it lined up with the camera. Again, if you're listening
to this man, you're missing out a lot. Go watch
the video. But you can throw your bino's in there
or in the front. And these are taller binos, they're
a little bit longer than most, but they go in
there just fine. So I would have no problem using
this as a bino harness, especially if I didn't need

(45:56):
them quick access. I'm just testing some things out here
to see if these would go in the front pouch,
and if I worked really hard, I could get them
in there. But they're not going to fit a regular
pair of binos at all. You can throw in your
rangefinder in that front pouch. Now that's a cool idea.

(46:19):
Like I dig that, Like that looks good. That's a
new idea. I don't I don't mind that at all.
I like I kind of like that molly here on
the bottom, which you can again, if you need a
hand muffed pouch, you can throw that on there too,
which this is a nice little pack. It's a nice

(46:41):
little option for guys that want more of a hybrid.
Maybe you know you're you're a fly fisherman, but you
also hunt, or or if you're a hiker and just
want something to be able to carry a gun with
being instead of wearing a fanny pack. There's nothing wrong
with fanny packs. I don't wear them. Maybe I will

(47:04):
one day. But so your your price on this. You're
probably wondering how much is that gonna set me back?
All right, So I'm looking on here. This is a
two hundred dollars purchase, so you got to make up.
I really do feel like anything above one hundred and

(47:24):
fifty dollars. It's tough. It's tough to spend that much
money on a bino harness. But they are lifetime guarantee,
they're made here in you know, the United States. So man,
I think it's what I think two hundred dollars for
this like would be worth it. And you guys are like, man,

(47:44):
kJ you got a problem. Man, there's too many biny harnesses,
Like you're doing too much. Maybe that's the case, but
I like options. I like I mean, everything has its purpose.
This one I am going to give it. I will
give it. I'll give it a solid seven. I'd give
this a seven. Like for uses, there are some uses

(48:10):
that this definitely has a place for. I really, I
really do believe this, and I will use this, Like
for a quick day hunt. This is a great option
if you don't want to carry you the hydro harness
and you need just a little bit more gear. Now,
if I'm going out with the boys and I'm taking
them hunting or something like that, this is not what

(48:32):
I'll use. This is a quick like little half day
hitch like pouch. Like I I dig it. I like
what you're doing, Cafar, you guys, just keep it up,
all right? We got one more, one more. Maybe I
saved the best for last, but I'm a generation behind. Man.

(48:56):
They've already updated day. They've already updated this sucker. This
is the t n K Hunting Gear Bino Harness. And
I'm telling you right now, I'll tell you right now,
I've bought multiple of these. And why did I do that?
Why what would possess me to do that? Because like,

(49:18):
if a company brings me on a hunt and I'm
hunting with a guide, they always look at this and
they go dude, who is that? What? What kind of
biny harness is that? I've never seen that before? I
tell them and then I give it to them. I

(49:38):
think I'm on my and I gifted one to Ryan
uh Gresham here in the office, like because I believe
in this product. Magnetized uh front closure and magnetize I've
still got rounds in here, and then magnetized closure to

(49:58):
close it up. Zippered back mesh pocket which I like,
and it's pretty soft. I have rounds back there. Oh well,
let's play. What's in Kj's final harness that he was
hunting with? What do I have? What do I have
back here? This is what I keep back here. This
is funny. Oklahoma hunting license check lens wipes check, dude

(50:25):
wipes check? Oh what is this? Is this from? This
is a man? This is a Oh my gosh, I
don't know where this is from. I think it's from Texas. Yep,
Texas hunting license right there. So that's what I keep

(50:46):
back here. And we've got rounds. What was I hunting
with this day? I'm guessing six ' five cremre bingo
nailed it and extra batteries. That's what I'm keeping in
that back pouch batteries some CR twos, CR twos, R one,
two threes, and a double A. So if anything goes

(51:09):
on the field, you've got it right there in that
back zip for pouch. That's one of the reasons why
I love it. This is the TNK Biny Harness. Now,
this is going to be a generation two. This is
a generation too. You know Tyler over there, he's probably
streamlined these, He's made them better. They're on to Gen
three point one. So this is a gin point two.

(51:30):
These are gonna be one hundred and fifty nine bucks
all right now. They're Rangefinder pouch. I do not like it.
They've updated it, thank goodness, But this pouch is way
too big and way too difficult, and I don't I
have no earthly idea why I have not changed it out.

(51:50):
Because this this like if I just had the Biny
Harness and I just did that, this would be the
perfect setup. Like if you're going out and you're hunting
for in the back country for a week, two weeks,
or whatever it is, this is the Biny Harness I
would select because it's simple, it's a small footprint. But

(52:14):
I will tell you right now I'm going to show
you right here, like I'm putting this rangefinder in it
buries into the bino harness and getting it out like
I don't know, they're sowing points or they've creased it
somehow to make it the size it is. I don't know,

(52:34):
but getting my rangefinder out of that is like pulling teeth.
I cannot stand it, like I do not like it.
That is going to get changed and right now, like
if I were going to change it to anything like
this little vortex. It's got a tether which I don't tether,

(52:57):
but you can take it off. This vortex rangefinder pouch
would be the ticket that fits perfectly with the lining
that it has in It makes it easy for that
rangefinder to come out and it sits it high up.

(53:20):
So well done. Vortex on that like that for a
rangefinder is great, I'd say yes, that is that for
me is as near to a perfect fit as you
can get for a rangefinder. And it's got the loop
closure on the front. Would have loved to have seen magnetized,

(53:42):
but it keeps it secure. And you know, things with
batteries as much as we use them nowadays, when cold
weather really hits you know, batteries go quicker, they're dead faster.
So having that kind of soft inner lining that vortex

(54:03):
is doing, it's really kind of brilliant. That's that's pretty
that's pretty dang smart. So that's something to look for
as well with those electronics that we're running in the field,
is what's on the inside, because what's on the inside
matters on a lot of this stuff. Heavy cordura is
what the t n K is made out of. It's

(54:24):
a very very nice little attachments. They have molly attachments
here on the side. This little attachment right here was
for a very nice Philo blade works knife that was
lost in Alaska. Let's take a moment of silence for
that knife, all right. That that really that still stings

(54:50):
to this day because I was in Alaska cleaning with
this knife. I set it down, I got to working
with another knife, and then I left it, and then
when I came back the next day to look for it,
a bear had covered it up, So I figured the
bear claimed it. So out there on Kodiak Island there's

(55:12):
a bear armed with a knife. Is a knife, so
beware if you're on Kodiak. But anyway, so okay, I'm
gonna I will give I would say I'm going to
give this bino harness a TNK hunting gear. Now this

(55:33):
is the two This is the generation too, because I
like it, but I purchased multiple. They usually offer them
in multiple colors sometimes, you know, TNK used to offer
like special runs, but I just kind of dug the
kind of the gray look to it. This one's gray.
They offered him in camo, they offered they're all kinds
bottom lands. They offered him in blaze orange. They had

(55:55):
a lot of different options, but I went on there
today and looked, and they only offer him and Ranger green,
Coyote brown, and multiicam. And to me, I think that
was one of the things that kind of set TNK
apart because they were messing with different colors and different options,
and everybody kind of got to customize their own and
make it look how they wanted. That to me was

(56:17):
one of the big things that really kind of drew
me to you know, the the TNK is their ability customize.
But I'm sure they're growing and they're they're getting bigger.
They also offer you know, muff a muff pouch with
mally excessor Molly attachments to it, and they're just offering

(56:37):
a lot of cool things. So I would highly recommend
giving them a look. But TNK Hunting Gear, I think
I think it's t n K hunting dot Com. So
give them a look. I'm going to give this sucker.
This sucker is gonna get a nine with a minus
two for the range finder pouch. It's just, man, that

(56:57):
just really like I just it just every year it
annoys me, and I always forget to change it, and
I know I should and it shouldn't. Like, well, if
something annoys you just change it. And that's kind of
what I've done with all these you know, bino harnesses,
Like I keep changing them, and I keep getting others
and trying them. But this is the ultimate review. I mean,

(57:21):
you know, T and K one last thing on them,
veteran known made here in the USA. I mean, that's
that's a big thing to a lot of people. That's
a big thing to me. And I'm sure you know what,
I probably miss someone, but they do a good job
of advertising this made in the USA. Vortex is probably
made here in the USA, I would assume. So anyway,

(57:45):
that's it for me on the bino harness review. I
know I missed a couple out there. I don't own
them all. It's hard to own them all, but I
own quite a dang few. So anyway, that is it
for me. I'm going to clear this out because I
know my Michael behind the camera is tired of looking
at these bino harnesses. So anyway, that's it for me. Guys,

(58:05):
your host kJ of gunn Talk, Han, you know the drill.
You know this more importantly than most. Keep those muscles
point in a safe direction and always be on the hunt.
