Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Ruger Light Rag Security three eighty is easy to
shoot and easy to wreck, small enough to carry concealed
or in a purse, big enough to absorb recoil. Learn
more at Ruger dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Boy I may have add We're just all over the
place today. Hey, welcome back. I'm Tom Gresham. This is
Gun Talk. We're talking about well, Mother's Day and mothers
with guns, and hunting and cool cartridges and new guns,
and obviously gun rights and Second Amendment things that are
going on there. I'll have more to talk about when
it comes to gun rights in just a little while.
(00:35):
Things going on at the Supreme Court, believe or not,
some of them while they look negative, actually maybe positive.
I'll fill that in as we get there. If you
want to join us, it's pretty easy. Just give me
a call at Tom Talk Gun always looking for the
range reports, which is just you go into the range
doing a little shooting or a new gun, old gun
you want to tell me about, especially stories about doing
(00:57):
a little shooting with your mom. Would love to have
those today. Well, all right, So there's a company that
you may not even have heard of, but they're involved
with a lot of cool guns that you may have
heard of, and I'm talking about Legacy Sports International Jeremy.
Right now is Andy McCormick from Legacy Sports. But Andy,
I want to talk specifically today about at least one
(01:18):
of the lines that you have. Is it Hower or ho?
How do we say this?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Either one works, you hear it NonStop either way, So
I say Howell. That's how I've been pronouncing it for
twenty two plus years.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Okay, all right, Before we talk about that, at least
tell people a little bit about Legacy Sports and some
of the brands that you handle.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Well. Our Bread and Butter brand that we handle, Tom
is the how of fifteen hundred lineup of rifles, which
are renowned for affordability and accuracy and have been utilized
by many companies over the years since the seventies. Whether
he uses the fifteen hundred for their Guard series, Smith
and Wesson has utilized it, Mosburg has utilized it, Inner
(02:05):
Arms utilized it, and Legacy Sports itself actually morphed out
of Inner Arms with Sam Cummings passed away sects inventory
of Hawa and Kuma, a Rossi line got carried over
by the team that started Legacy Sports, and then I
got brought on board in twenty twenty, two thousand and
(02:28):
three November two thousand and three, and then we ended
up moving from Alexandria, Virginia out of the old Inner
Arms building that Sam Cummings had there right on a Potomac,
and then we moved to Reno, Nevada, and since then
there's been no stopping us growing and growing and growing.
The other lines that we carry are pointer shotguns both
over unders coach guns, side by sides, pump guns nineteen
(02:54):
eleven's in the Citadel lineup, and then we have our
extremely popular Boss twenty five semi auto AR fifteen that
we do extremely well with. Then you have the like
I said, the Nico Sterling line two of some optics
we also offer. So there's quite a wide range and
broad spectrum of handguns, shotguns, rifles at various price points
(03:19):
that we offer, utilized by all the major distributors across
the country and box stores and independent dealers.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Okay, so and you wouldn't know this, but I am,
and I know that when it comes to hunting rifles,
especially right now, the market is just divided. It's all
over the place, and you've got some of these lines
are really highly developed pretty heavy, pretty big, long range
shooting the machines, and I mean, they're great devices, But
I go towards the other side of things. I really
(03:49):
like super lightweight hunting rifles because I carry them a
lot and shoot them a little bit. And man, when
I'm looking at what you guys are doing with the
mini actions and the super light you're just tearing the
world up. You might just start with, like your super
lightweight rifle.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Yep, we definitely, without a doubt, have the lightest center
fire rifle on the market. And then we took it
down even another notch in lightweight. A four pounds seven
ounce rifle with a twenty inch barrel that you sub
them away and it's under one thousand dollars retail. That's
(04:28):
amazing in itself. And then we took that gun and
because of the craze of suppressor shooting in popularity, we
decided to take that down to a sixteen and a
quarter inch barrel threaded for everybody to use for suppressors.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Then you have a.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Gun that starts at four pounds three ounces, shove the
m away under one thousand dollars. It's unheard of. I've
sent guns all over the country to writers and editors,
and the first thing I get from them, after they've
shot it at the range and put it through the
string of different AMMO, they call me and they tell me, Andy,
(05:05):
this gun's not coming back.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Period. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
I understand everybody from Ron Spohemer, Craig Bodies and all
of them. It's crazy.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
And it just said me at the end voice because
you're not getting the gun back.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, because they can't believe how well it shoots. And
that's everything from a six to five creed more than
three eight as well as two forty three and seven moah.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah, my mention here, I've been shooting really light rifles
for a long time and they're how to say this,
the right way shooting light rifle super light rifles is
like shooting a mini pistol. It is less forgiving. You
really have to be on your game as far as
technique to shoot it.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Well, it was absolutely right. You are absolutely right. There
is a technique to shooting a lightweight rifle like that.
From of course, putting a suppressor on it helps with
that muzzle up and so for sure, and the recoil.
But you're right because Ron Spoemer, of all people explain
that to me how he had to change his shooting
technique from shooting off bags on a bench to actually,
(06:12):
you know, holding the front you know, of the scope
down or holding the rifle down where you're shooting just
off of a bench, or Steve Comas from Safari Club
telling me, yeah, you really got to tuck that thing
in your shoulder and hold it good, you know, lean
into it. Yeah, so there's a different technique. You're absolutely right.
(06:32):
It is well worked. It it's a mission it is.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
It's especially gun and if you like I do where
I hunt, I hike a lot, I walk a lot,
and I'm on the hills and I like that lightweight rifle,
and I'll put up with the rest of it, which
means you got to be particularly careful about getting that
first shot off. And yes, you're gonna have a little
bit more recoil. When I'm shooting at the range, I
use a pad on my shoulder. If I got to
(06:56):
shoot a whole bunch of shots out of a super
lightweight rifle, don't want to develop a flinch. And it's
not like it's a bad thing. It's just this is
just a technique you have to use with what really
any of this highly specialized shooting instrument.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yep, yep. And like I said, it's mission purpose. It
was designed for hunters, get up the mountain, take the
shot you got to take, and get back down the mountain.
It's not meant to sit at a bench and shoot
one hundred rounds through it.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
You know.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
With a thin barrel, short barrel, a light stock. You know,
it's got a shaved receiver. It's got you know, a
hauled out bolt head. We shaved as much as we
could off this thing, but still kept its integrity of
maintaining a quality rifle with tight toleranes and headspacing and
(07:43):
everything that comes with it, and a good trigger that
makes a shoot out of a lightweight rifle.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Tell me about the Mini action, which is just this
tiny little bolt action that you have.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Oh well, let me tell you what. The Mini action
is a huge sellar for us. We only have so
much forduction of it. We keep trying to increase it
every year with the halifactory into the line, and we
offer that in a standard barrel, a short, little twenty
inch heavy barrel, light varmitter. They call it a heavy barrel,
but it's really like a little of a light varmitter.
A lot of guys like to shift that suppressed for
(08:16):
coyotes and deer. But you know what's nice is you
know why I was on hold listening to your intro
to your show and talking about our fifteens. You know
who shoots our mini actions? A lot guys that own
gas guns in ar fifteens. Guys that are shooting six' Five,
grendel guys that are shooting six millimeter, arc guys are
shooting two two, trees all the new twenty two. Arc
(08:40):
all those guys that have a gas gun with those
calibers like to have a short compact. Gun they could
shoot the same cartridge in a mini bolt. Gun and
that who buys a lot of our mini. Actions BUT i,
myself before we had the super, light loved it because
it was like a poor man's mountain, rifle short bolt
(09:01):
throw on it less than our standard short action and
it came, in you, know right at six pounds with
a standard twenty two inch. Barrel and LIKE i, said
that short bolt throw growing up In pennsylvania being a
white tail hunter all my life as a, kid If
i'd have had a, short little mini action in a
six y Five grendle to climb in a tree stand.
With that's What i'd been. Shooting that's WHAT i would
(09:23):
have been shooting at white tails as a kid would
have without a.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Doubt you, know this may be the modern, version a
bolt action version of the lever action thirty thirty short
light and. Handy that's.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Right, YEAH i grew up shooting a thirty thirty or
two forty three as a, kid you, know and then
next thing you were shooting a Pump remington thirty on
six like something like. That but, hindsight If i'd have
had a mini action sixty Five grendel or six, arc
it would have been the perfect white tail gun to
get in a compact tree, stand you, know or stick and,
(09:57):
move you, know still hunting or anything like. That but
you Know i've. SHOT i shot an antelope with a
sixty Five grendel And arizona like almost four hundred yards
and dumped. It, No SO i mean great little, cartridges
and you know still today for us and a lot
of people still six to Five creedmore and three h
eight are the top selling cartridges hands down. Still but
(10:18):
everybody gets kired and talking about six to five Greed
more and how great it. Is so in the mini action,
LINE i didn't feel we really had a dear caliber
if you, will two two three we had and so,
Forth but six' five grendel kind of put us into.
That category and once we, did it it took off
and it sells. Extremely well so SIX millimeter arc is
(10:40):
probably is one of our probably, number three number four cellars.
Right now and then You've got grendel, in there and
then now the twenty two arc that has just taken
off like wildfire In the. Mini action, All RIGHT so
i got.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
To put in, my request probably like a lot of other,
people have we need some left handed bolt actions. In HERE.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Get i get that. A, lot uh how we keep
beating them up, about it, it's uh one of these
days maybe they'll take it on and put it into the.
Production LINE like, i said, our limit our our production
line is very tight on what we produce monthly and yearly.
Something else but we're trying to grow it and we're
trying to evolve various things with. The factory there's some
(11:19):
cool STUFF coming i can't talk, about yet BUT when,
I can i'll let you know that there's some new cool.
Stuff coming.
Speaker 2 (11:25):

Things shooting hunting And The. Second amendment.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
There's so much. Going on we talked ABOUT the nra
and what's going. On there we got things happening well
on a lot of. Different fronts At The, supreme court
we have two cases we've been trying to. Get accepted
here you apply and they grant search if they're going
to hear. The case and There's The Ocean state tactical
that's about magazine bands And the, snopes case which is
(14:44):
about bands on semi. Automatic rifles they have now been continued.
Thirteen times and while that might, be disappointing that is
they they discussed it and, they, said well we're going
to discuss it. Again later we're not going to say
we're not gonna. Take it we're not gonna say we
are gonna. Take it we're just going to continue to talk.
(15:04):
About It the dobs case was relisted. Twelve times that's
the case That Reversed. Rovy Wade So mark smith From
The Four, boxes diner, he says, you know this is
actually a. Good sign if they have relisted these cases.
Thirteen times, HE says i think they're going to Take the,
(15:24):
snopes case is what. He's saying and that would be
good If The supreme court would come in, And, say
okay all use states that are passing bands on semi,
automatic firearms knock. It off we're going to rule all
those laws to. Be unconstitutional that would be a, home run,
you know in the bottom of the knife to Win The.
World series it would. Be unbelievable so that's what we're.
(15:45):
Hoping for. Stay tuned i'll keep you posting us find
out more, about It and i'll be posting about IT
on x over there you can follow, you know used To,
be twitter you can. FOLLOW me i am at gun TALK.
On x, all right let's Go grab joe out a
little rock our. King Saw, hey joe what's on?
Speaker 9 (16:02):
Your?
Speaker 11 (16:02):
Mind yeah?
Speaker 4 (16:05):
ARE you i was just Going to i've heard a
little bit About The Hearing, protection ACT and i hadn't
heard a whole lot, about IT and i was just
going to see if you'd heard any, new news any
updates On The Hearing.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Protection act, all right let me explain Whether The Hearing
protection act would basically take all the regulations off of silencers.
And suppressors there's two things happening. Right now kind Of.
In congress they're trying to get suppressors or silencers removed
(16:42):
From The National farms. Act completely the other branch that's
happening is a discussion going on, of well we'll just
reduce the cost from two hundred dollars to, five dollars
but you still have, to apply and you still have
to go through. The process we don't have to get the.
Tax stamp that's really. Not acceptable that's not getting us
(17:04):
where we need. To be these are. Safety devices they're
good for the health and safety, of shooters and we
really need to remove all restrictions. On them but, right Now,
IN congress i don't know if we have the votes to,
do THAT, and I frankly i. DON'T know i have
doubts That the republicans have the courage to. Press it
(17:27):
i'm not sure that's on the top of.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Their, LIST well i thank you for taking. MY call
i was just curious if you'd heard anything.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
About, THAT yeah i know that it's being worked on
and they're trying to get them into A reconciliation act,
or bill and that way they could get it through
with a simple, majority vote because if they have to
go to the regular system when it gets To, the
senate they have to have sixty votes and that's never going.
To happen we cannot get past, the filibuster but we
(18:01):
could if it's in a reconciliation bill that can pass
with a just the. Majority vote so that's really the
only hope that we have of getting. This Done but
i'll keep you posting on. That Too obviously i'll talk
about it here, and look thanks for, The call but
if you want to know more about it on a
day to day basis on what's, going on follow me
(18:21):
OVER on X because i'll be posted on It It
Also mark Smith For, box's DINER Does Firens, policy Coalation Does,
segrament FOUNDATION does nra post? About it all that information.
Is there, this is frankly has become the primary news
source on gun rights and things that are going on
(18:42):
on a day to. Day basis so if you're not OVER,
ON x i think you're kind of cheating yourself and
YOU'RE missing, i mean if you're a JUNKIE like, i,
am ian you like to have all this information as
much as. You can so there. You go that's kind
OF where i go. Every day oh this. Was interesting you.
Are Buddies, rob latham who's world, champion everything. Won everything
(19:04):
he was honored With The Shooting sports USA's Inaugural Nra
Golden Bullseye competitor award a few weeks ago AT the
nra annual Meeting. In atlanta, Of course rob's Been With
springfield armory for, a long long time. Pro shooter he's
i mean literally won more than one hundred national and.
(19:26):
International championships besides being just a, good guy a fun
guy to hang, out with he is one of the
funnier people you'll ever. Be with. Big fella we call
him the largest twelve year old you will, ever meet
loves his jokes, for movies and is A Huge star
wars fan of. All things kind OF not I Like,
(19:48):
star Wars but i'm not one of those people that
quotes him all. The, time okay so now this. One's
interesting not, a. Surprise Right Ninth Circuit ninth circuit says
that it's okay to have a lifetime ban on ownership
of guns for. Convicted, felons now this is in conflict with.
(20:09):
Other Circuits so i'm thinking maybe this will end up
At The supreme court. AS well i mean It's The.
Ninth circuit this case action was decided the other way
In The ninth, circuit originally when a three judge panel
heard it, and, said no you should not lose your
rights to own a gun forever because you're a. Convicted
(20:29):
felon according To the, raheemi case the decision Of The,
supreme court it should be only those who are convicted of.
VIOLENT crimes, i mean you got people who are convicted
of food stamp violations and they can't buy a. Gun,
forever well that just makes no. Sense whatsoever so just
(20:52):
keep you posted. On that so question, for you what
caused you originally to decide to have a gun for?
Self defense was it a thing? That happened? You KNOW
(21:12):
and i know for some women, they say you know
something something happened, TO me i, was attacked or a
lot of times it's a friend of mine, was attacked
a friend of mine, was raped a friend, of mine
something happened, to her and that caused me to look
at it, And, say okay that's not going to happen.
To me there's, no wrong right or wrong. Answers here
i'm just kind. Of curious and sometimes people say it's
(21:35):
just kind of a general feeling of, YOU know i
don't like the way, things ARE and i want to
be more prepared for some. Of us we like to
take charge of our own safety and our. Own environment
AND so, I mean i'm the guy, who has, you
know the jumper cables and the extra jack and the
stuff in the car and the extra sleeping bag in,
the WINTER and i carry a tourniquet with ME and
(21:56):
i carry you. Two, Flashlights okay i'm. That guy but,
that way what was it that made, You, Decide yeah
i'm going to have a gun for, self Defense or
i'm going to carry a gun in. Self defense our
number Here Is Tom. Talk gun. That's Me I'm. Tom
gresham and guess what this is. Gun, talk yeah we
(22:20):
just keep talking about guns. Around Here I'm. Tom gresham
you can join this by giving me a call right
now eight Six Six talk Gun Or Tom. Talk gun.
Either one we're pretty much. Open lines if there's something on,
your mind we'll talk. About it if it has to do,
with guns ormo or scopes or hunting or hunting stories
or stories about your Mom On, Mother's, day yeah it doesn't.
Really matter we'll just shoot.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
De breeze.
Speaker 2 (22:42):

me on line For. He's steven you're on, the, Ere.
Speaker 5 (22:48):
Sir, thank you thank you. VERY much i was listening
to your comments Sure About marion hammer, and yeah absolutely sickened.
By IT at i thought, to myself is there no
end to the Damage That wayne lackpierre is going to
do to? That organization but YOU know. I was i
(23:09):
would have imagined had she taken, the money and it
sure sounded like she had, considered it nobody would have
set a peep that she was a shill and sold herself.
For cash. ABSOLUTELY appalling i might have respected her as
much as it. Put her made me angry if she'd,
Just said i've changed. YOUR heart i think it should be,
(23:31):
this way but the. BUYER off i gave up my membership,
years Ago and i'm.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Not, sorry well you know those folks are, gone NOW
and i think we're getting the entry back to where
it needs. To be so it might be t like
everybody's got to figure out what their tolerance level list.
For everything and it was Disgusting what lapierre and. Crew
did but we have now kicked them OUT and i
think it's a. New group, BUT look i appreciate, the.
CALL sir i want to come in on That because
(24:01):
stephen made, a point, he says Talking About, marian hamber
that's the STORY that i told. Last hour she was
former PRESIDENT, of nra she was. A lobbyist she's now SUING.
The nra but in the process of filing, her lawsuits
she states that about seven eight, years Ago The, brady
group the gun, control group came to her, and said
(24:22):
if you'll LEAVE the nra and come, with us we'll
give you five. Million. Dollars huh it kind of shows
you what the gun control movement is willing. To do,
they said we will buy. You off we'll give you
five million dollars to, switch sides to come, over here sell,
(24:45):
your soul sell out, the cause sell out your constitutional
rights for five. Million, dollars now to, her credit she
turned that down and made a deal WITH the nra, and,
said look, you guys, pay me give me a ten
year cond Tracked and i'll. Stay. Here yeah maybe maybe
it's to, your credit or maybe, it's, like, Oh well
(25:07):
i'm going to leverage, this thing AS though i would
go take the deal with the gun controllers if you
don't pay me, the money which doesn't speak well. FOR
her i, don't know just thinking about this a couple of,
different ways but what a. Fascinating Story. Holy Kah hey
david is with us Out Of missouri. Online One, hey
(25:28):
dave you got a story about?
Speaker 9 (25:29):
Your, MOM yes. I. Do tom i'm going to be
very quick and. Very brief my mom was born in nineteen.
Twenty five my dad was born in nineteen. Oh four
we lived in four rooms and a path understand with
a p got, that. One okay we had two guns in.
(25:49):
The half one was a single shot Twenty two remington,
both action and one WAS an H and r Shotgun
twenty gates taught me how. To shoot and she's the
Only person i've ever seen that could take a coke
bottle or a seven up bottle back in the days
when they were, really bottles and you would set them on,
(26:12):
a fence and she could shoot through the opening of
the bottle and bust out. The back have you ever seen?
THAT done.
Speaker 11 (26:24):
I.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Have not i'm in visiting exactly what you're. Talking about
you lay the bottle on its side. Facing you you're
shooting through the open mouth or the neck of. The
Bottle now i'm to do it.
Speaker 9 (26:36):
Every time but she could do it more times. THAN
not i might be able to. Do it and we're
talking an Iron sided we're at like ten yards on
top of a. Fence post we're talking an Iron sided
remington single, shot rifle. BOTH action i don't know what
the WHAT the i don't know What the remington, model
(26:58):
was but it was old enough it did not have
a serial number on it still has.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
The rifle, oh well there are people that don't. Know
that but way back then they didn't put seiing numbers.
On guns so. That's interesting you mentioned that great. STORY
though i. Appreciate that, you know they're an awful of
women that can. Really shoot you go all the way
Back To. Annie oakley but you got a lot of. Women,
TODAY oh i got a story about. Woman shooting at,
Twenty Two lonnie miiley won a gold medal In, the
(27:24):
olympics and she was, obviously phenomenal and she was shooting twenty.
TWO rifle i remember her telling the story and THEY
were i think this may have been the first year
they were using. Electronic scoring don't know, exact details but
she was shooting and she was like several shots into
(27:46):
the string and she said they came over and stopped
her in the middle of shooting, and said it's we have.
A problem the scoring system has not registered your last.
Two shots. She said she just she was shooting. Prome
position she just kind of rolled over and looked at
(28:06):
him and, she said, it's okay they're all going into the.
Same hole and when, they checked, sure enough and we're
talking about shooting a bullseye target that is about the
size maybe smaller than the head of an eraser at
fifty meters and, iron sights and, she says they're all
(28:27):
going into the. Same hole the confidence level there from
obficerly shooting who knows tens, of thousands hundreds of thousands,
of rounds but also just being flat out. That Good
and i've often said that the top shooters they see
(28:47):
things that we. Don't see they react to things that
we don't. React to they're playing a. DIFFERENT game i
often asked the top, shooters said what are you seeing
because we can kind of see what. They're doing and
they'll talk about their eyes moving ahead of you for,
shooting action shooting a plate rack, or something their eyes.
(29:10):
Moving ahead so the eyes have to, go first the
gun has. To follow you can't be looking over the
top of the gun and then moving the gun to.
The target the eyes go to the target and then
the gun swings over. To It Remember, dan Carlisle another
olympic shooter in trap and we were actually we were
doing an event that. We created it was golf and sporting.
(29:33):
Plays together it's kind, of CRAZY but, i, said boy
you know you were you were really shooting. Well today, he,
said yeah, He says i'm seeing the. Targets well, once
again right back to, the eyes back to, the vision
THE thing i asked him about all. THE time, i,
said well what do you mean you're seeing the? Targets well, he,
said Well when i'm having a, good day, and okay
imagine a, clay target, you know you know what they,
(29:54):
look like and they got the dimples along the top
and then throw it out of the thrower and they're
flying across in the air and they're spinning at a really.
High rpm, he, Said what i'm having a good day
of seeing. THE targets i can really see. The DIMPLES
and i thought he was pulling my leg and. He
wasn't he's seeing the dimples on a clay target at
(30:20):
forty yards. As is its screaming across and, going, okay
yeah it's, you know we're Back To. Ted williams, you
know seeing the seams of the baseball when it comes
out of the. Picture's hand he's throwing. A fastball, amazing stuff.

Speaker 15 (33:13):
Willing sir i'm out the range, riding Now and i've
got piles of toys and hundreds, of QUESTIONS but i
want to ask you something ABOUT something i heard you
say a couple of.
Speaker 11 (33:23):
Months ago you were referring to a single actions. Double
action you said you don't say much attention.
Speaker 15 (33:29):
To Those and, i've GOT like, i said a wide rings.
Speaker 11 (33:33):
Of toys AND while i was looking at different things
from my, LADY friend i brought into consideration a single
double because she tends to have her finger on the
trigger MORE than i would like for the various weapons.
She HAS and i picked UP the H, and K
which i love. THESE things i picked up the sk
in a, single DOUBLE and i love it SO much i.
(33:55):
Kept it the first shot is. SO accurate i can
turn my back to the target spinner on drop and
shoot and be within a quarter of, the targets sometimes
better than my follow. Up shots and the safety factor
is drastically increased with the added trigger pull of the
DOUBLE and i don't know if you'd ever taken that,
(34:15):
in consideration but it seemed like a logical answer, for
Me and i'm convinced NOW that i.
Speaker 10 (34:20):
Have one it's an.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Interesting approach i'm not much of a fan of using
physical technology to. PROVIDE safety i think safety has got
to be between your ears and. With training the problem
that a lot of people have with the single action
double action where you have the heavy double action pool
followed by an old mitch lighter, single action just making
(34:44):
the adjustment because you have two very different feels on your.
Trigger pool did you find any problem with adjusting from
a heavy double action to the follow up single? Action pool.
Speaker 10 (34:57):
Not.
Speaker 11 (34:57):
At all, in FACT like i, SAID first i was
usually even, more Accurate and i've got multiple hingk's at.
This point i have two of them with the law,
enforcement TRIGGER and i would grab this one. First. Anytime now, my.
Speaker 15 (35:12):
Vps, of course don't have.
Speaker 11 (35:14):
Either one it's just standard like all the other ones
that drop safety. And accurate but that that added aspect,
of safety you are not going to accidentally pull.
Speaker 15 (35:26):
THAT trigger i just really appreciated.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
That, With well i'm Not gonna i'm not going to
accidentally pull the, trigger Either because i'm not gonna have
a finger on. The trigger i've got something for you
to try with your, Lady, friend okay if you're open,
to this and, that is how do we keep her
from putting your finger on. THE trigger i have something you.
Can try and what you do is you tell her
(35:49):
to pick up, a pistol to pick up. A gun
you got to make, a gun and that is without
a gun in, her hand just with, her hand make a,
finger gun just like we all. Know gun as you
point your index finger out and you got your, thumb,
Up dear now maintain that you got your finger straight
out and make your. Finger gun now reach down and
pick up. The pistol keep that finger straight out there
(36:11):
along the side of, the frame and just have her
over and over pick up, a gun make a. Finger
gun then pick it up and keep that finger straight
as a way of trying to train her and get
her used to how you should hold. A gun does
that sound like something you? Could?
Speaker 11 (36:28):
Do, Oh absolutely and on, the ring. SHE'S good i
tell you what scares me the most is the way
she carries it is in, her purse and it's a weapons,
carry purse and she does have it as a special pocket,
for it but that just.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Worries, me, well yeah, and look there's nothing anywhere wrong
WITH the dasa pistol if you can, master it if
you know how to. Use IT and i understand the Thinking,
of okay let's go with the heavier first trigger pull
as a way of maybe make it a little bit
more difficult to pull. The TRIGGER and i would offer
(37:05):
that for a lot, of people the regular double action,
only revolver it's the. Same deal, so look whatever works
for you and works, for her. That's FINE but i
would sure try to work with her on the finger.
Straight thing you just should not have your finger on
the trigger of the gun until the sights are on
(37:26):
the target and you're ready. To shoot just as simple.
As that one of the basic four rules of. Gun
safety appreciate, the, call sir that's kind. Of interesting let's
Go grab Glenn And. Longmont Colorader, hey glenn you're on GUN.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
Talk O, Hi.
Speaker 10 (37:39):
Tom listen i've got a Nine milimeter star in, nineteen
sixteen and the ORIGINAL ammunition i think was black powder
back in, those days And when i'd FIRED and i
would crack the tasting on. The, cartridge now she makes
(38:00):
a nine milimeter, stire CARTRIDGE and i assume that there's
smokeless powder. In, It now i'm just wondering if they
increase pressure so it's going to do any damage to
my gun or.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
To, ME yeah i Would contact fiochi and ask them
what the pressure level is and if it's safe to
shoot in. YOUR gun i have TO admit i am
not familiar with the nine milimeters stire. Cartridge itself i'll
have to go look, that UP but i WOULD say
i would Check with fiochi to find out is this
going to be safe, to shoot, you know in my.
(38:36):
Old gun they've got to be a reason THEY'RE making ammo.
For it but people are shooting them in their. Old guns, good.
QUESTION though i, appreciate that and you're smart to be
aware of that to thinking. About it it's kind of
part of the. Whole deal when you have, old guns
you got to pay a special attention to what you're
feeding them from there, you go especially if you shooting
those old black. Powder guns be careful with. Those things
(38:58):
eight six' six talk. Gun, right back well It must
Be sunday because my email is blowing up with notifications
from gunbrokers saying the items on your watch list are.
Going to expire the auctions are going TO expire because
(39:20):
i GO in and i mark several different guns to,
watch them, see you know where the bids. Go on
them Not necessarily because i'm interested. In buying them i'm
just curious to see what happens with the bids and what.
The prices are but a lot of those Come. Do
on sunday, they TIME out and i Know all, the
duries guns they put them on gun broker and Those
(39:42):
go on sunday. Afternoon or evening if you're, interested in
those go to. Duriesguns dot com he's got some really cool,
stuff over there and maybe you can get on one,
of those, auctions because look the. DEAL with auctions a
lot of. Times, there's bargains now sometimes they, get bid
up sometimes people ignore them, or miss them and there
can be bargains of a at least. That's my hope
(40:03):
i'm not sure it happens, all that often, BUT you
know I keep thinking i might. Get a, deal all
right So There's some mother's day let me just talk
for a. SECOND about that i want to talk about
safety AND security because i care about not just guns and,
not just shooting but your general. SAFETY and security i
would offer that if you're a woman listening to this
(40:27):
reamp or re up your safety. And security protocols pay attention.
To your surroundings get your head out of your phone when.
You're walking around, have the conversation especially. With your daughters
if you're walking down the street or through a parking
lot looking, at your, phone you're saying, please mug me,
(40:51):
please kidnap me. Please rape me it just it's a
total lack. Of situational awareness you are unaware. Of your surroundings,
put it away get, your head. Up look around the
same thing we use is if you, look like food you.
(41:13):
Will be eaten don't go walk around with. Your head
down if you absolutely have to make a call and
you're out on, a sidewalk somewhere stop back up to
a wall and make your call while. You're looking around increase.
Your situational awareness know what's going, on that way no
(41:34):
one's walking. Up behind you have a discussion with your
family about. Safety and security have, a security plan like
you have. A, fire drill okay what are we gonna
do if if we, hear glass breaking we're gonna have
our code word. FOR our family i don't care if
it's geronimo or chrysanthemum and. Whatever it is but when we,
say that word we all. Move into action if we're out,
(41:55):
in a restaurant we, say that word, You follow me
we're gonna get up and. WE'RE gonna leave i don't
care if we paid the bill or we'll come back
and take care. Of that later we're. Leaving right now
when you go, into a place where? Are THE exits
because i want to be able to ask you at,
any given time as we're sitting, at a restaurant where?
Are the exits and not have you have. To look
around you have to have looked at that. Ahead of
time it's not really. Always about guns it's just about your.
(42:17):
Safety and security and, for our mothers, for our wives,
for our daughters we need to. Share this message it's,
not being paranoid it's. Just being smart it doesn't. Mean
you're afraid it just means. You are aware and as you,
are more aware you're you're gonna see. Some interesting things
you're going to be able to do. More people watching
(42:39):
and that's interesting in. And of itself if you do
decide to go, with the, firearm please please please please
please go get real instruction, or real class and then.
Take another class go to multiple places to. Take your
classes it will change not only, how you shoot but
it will change how you. Feel about yourself it will
change the way you you go about your life if
(43:02):
you get. Really good instruction that's my thoughts. For you today,
in the meantime. Call your mother if your, mother's still,
Around call. Her call whomever if there are people you
haven't talked to in, a long time give them a,
call and, SAY you know i was thinking, about that
time and that's a great way to. Start the conversation
you don't know how to get. Back into it you
haven't talked to. Somebody in years, THERE it is i
(43:24):
was thinking. About that time and then you're off. To
the races hey be. Safe out there give. Your mama
hug wish mine was STILL around so i. Could do
that have yourself. A great week
