Speaker 2 (02:05):
Welcome back. We have a guest today, all the way
from Australia on Bark and Swagger, a beautiful star of
the reality series Sydney's Crazy Rich Asians and she's a
fellow animal lover like us. Crystalline love of her pup
Manolo pig mop and of luxury fashion like us led
(02:25):
her down the path to create Montpetit Amore Manola, which
is a beautiful luxury brand out of Sydney making combined
dog collars and leashes. Let's learn more. Welcome Crystallin, Welcome
to the show.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
Thank you for having me, and yeah, thank.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
You, it's my pleasure. Let's dive in because we're gonna
have photos of some of your beautiful collars and leashes
for people listening to the podcast today to have a look. Crystallin,
what is the INSPI operation for the brand outside of Minola.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
So in Various literary works across the different times and
cultures from ancient Greeks golden thread of fate and these
Asian strings of faith, red strings of fate. There's countless
references to the fates of the past, life and the
salt connection. Usually these tales have then the meaning of
predestined meetings and unbreakable pond ties all these souls and individuals.
(03:30):
It is said that an invisible thread of fate connects
those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, and circumstances.
This thread may stretch or tango bay will. Inspired by this,
we've created our golden signature Golden leash, a precious gold
string that symbolize and serves as a reminder of the
(03:53):
beautiful salt connection between a guardian and the beloved. Little
love relates to worlds care for and cherish them to
the best of her ability. Until sir, it's not just
something that is beautiful.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
We want to.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
Have a meaningful peace longs like a promised successory for
the little little glove that we're going to cherish them
and love them forever, no matter what what weather, you know,
not just when they're still small and young and cute,
until they're old. It's a symbol of the connection and
(04:29):
your connection that there's something you're behind.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yeah, that's beautiful. That is beautiful crystalline. Thank you for
sharing that. They are very very beautiful. These Uh, they're
like you're welcome. They're connected collars and leashes. Yeah, talk
a little bit about the design of them. And also
I know that they're cruelty free, so talk a little
(04:54):
bit about that.
Speaker 5 (04:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:56):
So we have it's gold lad men, and we have
instead of real leather, we put vecon weather because we're
for animals, not from animals. And yeah, we are going
to release the collars we actually haven't released. We're going
to call it necklaces because it's just for leisurelyware for
(05:20):
necklaces instead of collars. Sometimes I feel like small dogs
can get pulled too much with the collars.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Like I've been thinking quite thoroughly with the.
Speaker 6 (05:31):
Collars and necklacing. So we're going to call it necklaces.
And for the leashes is adjustable so it's like from
their heart, like from their heart pulse to your pulse.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah. So that is the designs beautiful and just sort
of describing a little bit what I've seen is it
looks like a very high quality vegan leather that's woven
in and out of the gold lengths of the chain.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yes, And then you also have these beautiful little charms
that you can attach to the necklace, to the leash
because you have that ability with the link of the chain.
Tell us a little bit about the charms, I think so.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Well, when so there's little charms that you can add on.
But I remember back in the days, I used to
buy the twillies for Manola and I thought, oh, it
would tie it around his neck a scarf. But I thought,
it's actually a beautiful, beautiful thing that you can add
(06:37):
So if you have a kind of a designer or
like any other like ribbons or twillies and things like that,
you can add it on. There's an extra loop connection
for the for the for the leash that you can
tie a ribbon with your twillies. If you want your
ermessanels or whatever it is, then you can add it
(06:59):
on to you. Yeah much what if outfit? Well that's cool.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
So what are twillies? Is that an Australian terminology. I've
never heard of twillies.
Speaker 6 (07:10):
I think twilly is an ermez term. I think I
can't remember the doors called mitza. I don't like there
are the little thin scarfs that you kind of your bags.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Oh yes, okay, perfect, yes, yes, I got it, got it,
got it. And I just learned a new terminology. Thank
you for sharing that. And I also saw that you
have really cute initials. I yes, that have what is
it like crystals or rhinestones, but very delicate, dainty.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
Yes, so you can add whatever ABC's that you want
for your baby.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
And yeah, okay, wonderful. So what are some of your
favorite colors right now? And how that has that informed
the brand?
Speaker 6 (07:57):
It's actually it was such a hard colors to pick
that launch.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
So that's why we we launch.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
About seven colors straight away because we wanted to go
in the beginning, we wanted to go for neutrals, but
then there were so many requests for the pinks and
the blues and all that stuff. It's but I personally
love the neutrals. Its it goes with everything and it's
quite classic.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
And yes, yeah, tell us a little bit so listeners
can know, like what different colors you selected for this
initial run. So we have.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
White beige, kind of a caramel brown, there is a
lovely ballerina pink, and a I call it the pump
Boss color because it's similar to Pampo's logo and it's
like a heel light heal color and a right kind
(09:01):
of we call it Santorini blues.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
It's like the Germore's there's blue.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
Centerini rich, yes, rich blue like a cobalt almost, yeah,
a cobalt. And we have a just a pure double
linked gold plated leash and color right perfect.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Now when you say the collars and necklace, can you
take your dog out for walks using this? And is
this really only for small dogs like Manolo? Or can
larger dogs wear this? Or is it not quite sturdy
enough for a larger dog.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
We're still testing it and it's I think it should
be okay for adults ten kilos and under Oh what
is there?
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Write?
Speaker 6 (09:49):
Oh god, I should have what is the pounds conversion?
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Let me check.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
I'm gonna tell you right now, ten kilos is twenty
two pounds.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Twenty two pounds, it's up to two pounds, but we're
still testing. It's a proof up to ten killers. But
we're still testing for a little bit more, gotcha, and
we may later we will release more for bigger dogs,
but for now, that's wit concentrating on the smaller dogs.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Perfect. So I want to sort of jump to another
track for a moment, Yeah, and talk a little bit
about Sydney's Crazy Rich ass obviously inspired by the very
very popular hit movie Crazy Rich Asians. How did this
come into your life and were you an actress before
(10:40):
that or you playing yourself on this show? Was it
just kind of theirendipity and you know, how did it
come into your life?
Speaker 6 (10:49):
It was kind of a serendipity. I think the producer.
One day, a producer just called me and said, Hi,
you're actually quite perfect for this role. And I was
slightly reluctant, but they said, oh, you know, we can
showcase the charities here that you involved in and all
that stuff. And I thought they pulled my heart string
(11:10):
and with the doggies and things like that, and I said,
you know what, let's get this a cry.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
How many seasons now?
Speaker 6 (11:18):
We stopped at the first season. There was some it
didn't go It didn't really go quite far.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Oh okay, I'm sorry to hear that. So in your
personal life, like before you launched mont Petit, what was
your life like.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
I do a lot of work for the animal welfare
and things like that. Volunteer, I may a board member
for a Pound was charity as well. And now we're
opening Manla's little legacy which she's going to help with
animal welfares as well. And yeah, I have a little
business here and there and with my sister and yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Well, lovely, lovely love. Okay, we're going to jump back
onto the fashion track, which all of us here really love.
Why did you start with the necklaces and leashes only?
And are there plans to branch out into clothing, you know,
other parts of the pet fashion space.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Yes, we are planning to do that.
Speaker 6 (12:22):
So why did we start off as the like leashes
and necklaces? Because the first expiression was that the gold
string of fate and we wanted to, yeh y make
that into I think I wanted to launch a brand
that is not just beautiful, but has a meaning and
has it in height in the pet's life as well,
(12:46):
instead of just fashion. It's a fashion for a reason.
I guess. I love that.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
I love that, and we certainly can all relate to
how much we love our animals and what an important
and deep part they play in our lives. So yes, totally,
totally love that. So is there a particular type of
dog fashion or style trend that you're loving right now?
(13:15):
And does Manola ever wear clothes.
Speaker 6 (13:17):
In the Nola has a lot of clothes. I think
I bought so many dog clothes here in La that
I may have to ship half of it home.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Oh my goodness. Well, it's a great city to buy
dog clothes, that's for sure.
Speaker 5 (13:33):
To buy any clothes, yes, yes.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
Yes, that's half of it, and buy and half of
its Manola's.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
I think there's not many male clothes.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
So he mainly has all of the Ruthlern jackets and
little polos.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
I think he has every single color.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
Oh, we have a lady in Spain that does his
custom made for special occasion.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Which is oh my god, oh my goodness. You have
to send some photos of Manola wearing okay, I will.
Is he with you now?
Speaker 6 (14:09):
No, he's not because very much light too. Yeah, and
to be able to come back, he has to have
the Rady show.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
And oh yeah, good, I'm glad you decided not to
do that. Yeah, yeah, good for you. Okay, So we
are going to hold that thought. We're going to take
a short break from our sponsors. But don't go away.
We're going to hear about one of Sydney's influencer Pop's Coco,
who's recently touched down on our shores where La of course,
(14:41):

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Welcome back. If you've just joined, you're listening to bark
and swagger on pet Life Radio. I'm Jody Tis, your host.
This is your destination for pet fashion and we're talking
today with Crystalin, star of the Australian reality series Sydney's
Crazy Rich Asians and founder and head pet fashion person
(15:49):
at Lompetite Amoor Manola, a beautiful fashion brand out of Sydney.
Crystalin in Sydney Manola runs with some fi profile Pup
and Go Go is one of them. I understand she
just moved with her mom to Los Angeles. Tell us
a bit about Manolo's life. What is a typical day
(16:10):
for him? What's Coco's story? Are you visiting Coco when
you're out in LA right now? Yes?
Speaker 6 (16:17):
We actually we saw her two days ago. She took
us to a few hep boutique and yeah, it's it's
really lovely. She I think she's adjusting well and yeah,
good good, she's living the good life in Los Angeles,
(16:37):
I would imagine. Yeah, and we are tempted to really
move to Los Angeles after being here for a week
or so.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Oh, so we could be the first to hear that
you may be relocating to LA.
Speaker 6 (16:53):
Maybe we're maybe we're thinking that sounds lovely.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
So what's that day in Minola? Loose life like? Typically,
she doesn't.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
Wake up until about ten thirty to eleven eleven ish am.
He's a little bit of a lazy one. He doesn't
wake up until his breakfast is served, of course, an
omelet with like some chickens or a base and it
(17:24):
has to be organic. And he's a little bit of
a spoilt one and I love that. And then we
would go for a stroll in the park and well,
I get my coffee and do.
Speaker 5 (17:35):
A little bit of emails.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
He'll sniff about and then we either would go to
a lunch, We'll go get ready and go to a
lunch meeting or an event here and there, and yeah,
and that's nearly every day.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
So he's a little executive as well as a doggie.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
Yeah, I would call that he's a real sea actually
got to got to got to love it.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
And I understand that you have a charitable component for
the brand giving back and makes sense being that you
are involved in animal rescue rights. Tell us a little
bit about that.
Speaker 6 (18:14):
So we are in linked because I'm the board member
for count Pause and now we're creating a charitable foundation
called Manola's Little Legacy, which is really hated and so
Manola's Little Legacy will help fund some rescue shelters, rescue shelters,
(18:35):
and then we're going to help fund to train jogs
into therapy jobs for women that has been in domestic
islands cases and we so we can we can help
them stabilize their like as much as we can to
kind of have a therapy dog near them, because God
(18:55):
knows how much they've suffered and yeah, it's it's not
an easy subject, but I think it's something that is helpful.
And yeah, it's it's the least that we can do.
And we're going to help that with the Children's hospital
as well, which is with dogs of dogs and providing
(19:16):
therapy dogs for kids that's in the hospital, which is
not doing well because studies, studies proven that it's kids
heal better when there's dogs around and of course when
their immune systems Okay, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
And you know what the joy that being around a
dog if you love dogs, yes, yvesse children and women
battered women. That joy releases happy hormones and boosts the
immune system, so it makes the immune system stronger. Yeah,
beautiful thing. It just seems very lovely that you have
(19:56):
chosen women in need, chill children in need who help
provide the funds to train and rescue animals to be
therapy dogs.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
And I love that.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
Yeah, yeah, and we have. And then we're going to
hers Like what we're planning to do is we're planning
to herst little events where we can kind of spread
awareness not to well would let's say it. So I
think the next event what we're going to do is
in Australia, there is this thing called Melbourne Cup, which
is horse racing event and I don't think it's particularly
(20:33):
nice to the horses because there's a lot of injury
and there's a lot of etheneia and things like that
for the horses. And what we're planning to do is
we're planning to her as a instead of a Melbourne Cup,
we're going to do a Puppy Cups, So we're going
to kind of invite people to come in instead of
(20:55):
betting on horses and you know, getting dressed up for
the horses being put down on things like that as
a result of Melbourne Cup usually sorry, we're going to
host the puppy Cups, so we're going to have rescue dogs.
He is going to get adopted first and we're going
to play around with that.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Well that's lovely. That's lovely. Yeah, good luck with that. Thanks.
So yes, tell people where they can find you and
your brand. I feel like we're talking to you very
early in your brand's existence, and that's exciting because you know,
we can help turn people onto something new and fresh
(21:38):
and beautiful. So tell people where they can find you.
Your social media, your website, et cetera.
