Chuck and Buck in the Morning minus Chuck. So it's

(01:10):
Bashley and Bach bash Buck Buckshley in the Morning is
what it is. I guess, uh, welcome in. We got
four hours of radio playing for you here, A lot
of talk, a lot to talk about. It is basically,
I just I guess we could call it Turkey hump Day. Yeah.

(01:31):
Because of the short week, we basically are going to
switch arou and and no longer talk about last week.
As Chuck, maybe it's something about this chair. When you
sit in this chair, you forget about what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
So you've forgotten already.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Well, yeah it is the chair.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Did something happen? No, no, nothing happened.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Oh yeah, no we won a game?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Oh a game? Oh that's good. Yeah, that's good. Cracking
one game, Yeah, I do remember that, the crack and
one one. I don't remember what happened on the back
to back one behind.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
That, Yeah, no, I think it was just one game
they played the second.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
No, that's good. So everybody's winning, and we're going to
focus on the winning aspect, or actually, if you can win,
the next one is probably more important. And a lot
of other stuff we're going to get into that. We'll
get into everything that we're going to talk about and
when we get to what's on tap. But I did
want to just kind of move on towards the vikings
start talking about the Vikings, and but before we even

(02:29):
get into that, I thought it would be a cool
exercise to kind of look at I ended up spending
some time last night looking into the schedules of the
division because at this point, I mean, it's a three
team race, and yet it's a tight three team race.
The Rams are on top of the division at nine
and two and looking good. Now everything can shift, they can,

(02:50):
you know, they can have a downward spiral for a
week or two. The Seahawks are in second, and the
Niners in winning Monday Night Football. Last night, they end
up beating the Panthers twenty to nine. Wasn't really that
much of a contest. The Panthers didn't play very well.
Needed to the forty nine ers, to be honest. I
mean they kind of were trying to give it to
them pretty through a couple of interceptions, and yet the

(03:13):
Panthers couldn't execute, couldn't They sucked? Yeah, they did suck.
I'm sure most folks around here were not super happy
about it. It is what it is, though. I think
that you know, if if you're going to take the division,
speaking for the Seahawks, if you're gonna win the division,
I think you need a team like that, maybe the Panthers.

(03:33):
That was the first time the Seahawks have to play
the Panthers again in the not the last week of
the season, but the one before that, and the Rams
play the Panthers this weekend. I think you kind of
need a team like the Panthers, or even a worse
team than the Panthers to jump up and kind of
sniper Because as I was looking through the schedules ash

(03:56):
there was you can find different websites that'll kind kind
of put the strength of schedule out there, and that's
based on what the team's winning percentages, and obviously that
changes from now to the end of the season or
three weeks from now even but it has the Seahawks
is the sixth toughest schedule left remaining with the Vikings

(04:18):
this weekend, Falcons December seventh, and then the Colts Rams,
and then they got to go on the road to
Carolina and on the road to the San Francisco forty
nine ers. That's considered the toughest. Now they kind of
consider the Vikings, Falcons and Panthers is not tough games.
When they the website I was looking at kind of

(04:40):
had it kind of pushed to one side and the
tougher games on the other. I think the Panthers, we
talked about it yesterday. I think the Panthers are one
of those kind of question marks. I mean, somehow they've
found themselves in, you know, in the playoff race. They're
only six and six now, but you think they would
have been could have been seven and five if they
just hadn't to lay an egg last night against the Niners.

(05:02):
And so they're in the hunt. They're probably one of
the few teams that are kind of on the cusp.
I would say them and the Cowboys are kind of
in that they're in their own little category where you
feel like they might be able to beat somebody, but
you're not real sure that they will. I mean, I
don't have a lot of confidence that they would go
out there and help you out by beating the Rams
this next coming weekend.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Yeah, but very inconsistent.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah, And yet the Niners have the thirteenth toughest schedule
and the Rams have the twenty first toughest schedule, or
I guess the twelfth easiest schedules another way of looking
at it. So there's a lot to be able to
dive into when it comes to Seahawks have three on
the road and three at home. The Niners have only

(05:47):
two on the road and four at home, and vice versa.
For the Rams, they got to go on the road
for four out of their final six games. But I mean,
you really do look at it. The Rams right now,
sitting at nine and two, are they have to be
feeling pretty.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
Good two games left against the Cardinals. Yeah, yeah, exactly,
feeling pretty good too.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah for any of it, hadn't noticed we were not
even including the Cardinals other than the fact that that's
kind of an easy game, or so it feels, this
division game, and so you got to play two division games.
But I would say, I mean, at a minimum, they're
going to split. They're definitely not going to get swept
by the Cardinals, not the way they're playing right now.
And they play them, not this week, they play the Panthers,
then the Cardinals. Speaking about the Rams, the Rams play

(06:27):
the Cardinals this week or Carolina Panthers this week, then
the Cardinals. Then here's where their tough spot is. Then
they got to go Detroit and on short rest, come
back on a Thursday and come to Seattle. That's where
you got to kind of make your hay against them,
because I don't see them probably losing the Carolina or Arizona.
Anything can happen because then they they finish going to

(06:48):
Atlanta and then Arizona coming to their place. Yeah, I
mean it very easily. I mean if they were to
drop one to Detroit and the Seahawks beat them, they
still would probably finished the season thirteen and four. Yeah,
that's okay. So I'm thinking of ways to win the
division to where you don't have to go on the
road for the playoff games. Although you know, Greg has

(07:11):
spoke a lot about you know, if you can't win
the division, then you find yourself in the same place.
And with Pete Carroll there was something to home versus road.
I don't see that with Mike McDonald. I don't see
them going on the road and looking less.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Than it seems almost like in the last year and
a half they've had a better advantage on the road.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
At times they've won better. I mean, for sure last
year they I mean they the only reason they almost
made the playoffs was because of how they played on
the road. I mean that schedule or I mean their
record on the road was way better. Now this year
it's it's not you know, it's they're three and two
at home and five and one on the road, so
it's better. I mean, But at the same time, I

(07:52):
wouldn't necessarily think, oh, man, they just can't find a
way at home. It'd be nice to have a home game.
I think that having the twelves on your side, getting
ramped up, having somebody else have to travel to your place,
there is definitely something there, especially when you start splitting
the hairs of you're playing against another playoff team. You
want every little advantage that you can get. So I'm

(08:12):
with Greg on that to some extent. I just don't
know for sure if I put quite as much focus
on it as he would. And then I guess going
to the forty nine ers, they're banged up. They finally
got pretty back what last week. He didn't look great yesterday,
as a matter of fact, looked less than good for
majority of the game, and then settled down to stop

(08:33):
throwing it to the other team. And yet I mean,
just think about their next couple of games. They got Cleveland,
then they have a bye. They're one of those teams
that has the last week by the last one that's possible.
In week fourteen, they got the Browns, then a bye,
and then the Tennessee Titans.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
That's going to be really tough for it.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
So it feels like they're gonna be sitting at ten
and four before they have to then go to Indian
Apple and then the Bears come to their place, and
then obviously that final game of the season, the bookings
with the Seahawks and the forty nine ers, So to me,
we'll end up being able to have more time to
dive into how we think it's going to pan out.

(09:15):
But just in general, I mean, how is your thoughts
on this? When you look at it, you're like, boy,
we do have kind of a tough because I don't
think though Vikings are a walkover. I think there you're
catching them in a good time. They're definitely not playing well.
You don't know for sure who's going to be playing
quarterback for him this weekend. The Atlanta Falcons to me,
seem to be reeling and they're obviously playing with their

(09:37):
backup quarterback. Now it's a backup quarterback. It's been a
starter plenty of times, and so you hope you don't
catch him on a night when he's feeling it a.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Little bit, has third week starting again, so you never
know what rhythm he can get into.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Yeah, and then and then the Colts again, they might
be heading in, they might be trending in a downward direction,
so a few weeks from now that might be a benefit.
But then Rams, Panthers and Niners to finish out. I
mean it almost feels like the playoffs kind of start now.
I mean, every week is crazy important, but I mean,
are you feeling are you feeling good about when you

(10:12):
kind of look over what the entire schedules of those
that you're going to be fighting for the division? Are
you feeling good about where we're at? Are you feeling meh?
Or are you feeling less than When you consider it,
seems like a couple of the other teams, the Niners
and Rams both have a couple easy stretches in the
rest of their remaining schedule.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
I think the first thing I noticed is just there's
zero room for error. So looking at it, comparing your
schedule to the other two, comparing your record to the
other two, I mean, you can't drop a game really
in this entire last six game run, because you do
that well, the forty nine ers are waiting right there,
and then of course you've got to finish at the

(10:51):
forty nine ers. So that's why I'm like, oh, you
can't go into that game having it be that. I
don't know that makes me nervous, but that made me nervous.
The schedule came out and I said that I didn't
love the idea that we had to finish the season
on the road. Now, obviously I know we are better
on the road, but especially to finish the season at
the forty nine ers. That well, that will make me
nervous one hundred percent of the time every single year.

(11:13):
But I do feel like they're the Seahawks themselves. Yes,
we've watched these games and had you know, this last game,
that second half was sloppy. I thought, you know, there
was a lot. It did seem like they played a
really tough first half and then just kind of relaxed
in the second half. Well, you can't do that at
this point, and so that's the only part that makes
me nervous is going into this thinking, why are we

(11:35):
at all taking a break? You come off that Rams game,
you think, you know what the defense stepped up, they
played awesome. We still had a chance to win despite
four interceptions by Sam Darnold. So we're in a good place.
And then you go to the Titans, and maybe it's
a little bit of a case of playing down to
your opponent, playing up to one opponent and playing down
to the next opponent. But you've got to be the consistent,

(11:58):
You've got to be who you are every single week.
And I am a little nervous that I'm not seeing
exactly who we are coming out for an entire game
every week.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
I'm with you the idea of I mean, the NFL
seasons are awesome. I love NFL in large part because
it is so it's not like you just go to
training camp like Bills or Ravens. For example. This year, Wow,
these are Super Bowl contenders, right, Chiefs. Chiefs maybe are
the closest thing to it since the Tom Brady dynasty.

(12:34):
You know, when he was in New England where it
felt like you know you're going to see them, you
know they're going to be in playoffs, you know they're
going to probably have a bye, They're gonna probably be
hosting the AFC Championship game. You know, you just know
that they're going to go somewhere other than that. Really,
if you think about the other twenty nine teams out there,
it's like you at some point during the season are

(12:57):
going to be like, look at how I mean, if
you're a contender. All three of these teams were discussing
in the NFC West are contenders, You're going to have
times where you're like, well, we're looking good. Maybe the
Niners haven't been in that, haven't had that conversation, but
that seems like they've been dinged up from the get
go and maybe overlooked and to some possibly I think

(13:18):
maybe looked at as even going into the season. I
think they're on their way down.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Well we were convinced, I mean not you, but Chuck
and I were convinced they were on their way down. Yeah,
talk about it several times.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yeah. And I just think there's just the coaching. I
think Shanahan has a really good system. I think he's
he obviously understands, you know, he was he was brought
up and raised by a great head coach in Mike,
and I think that the way in which he runs

(13:49):
the organization, the way in which the program is designed
to where you know, we talk about Mike McDonald and
it's about the process. It's not about necessarily the outcome.
Obviously outcome is important, but you get back to the process.
You win, you get back to the process of getting better.
You lose, you get back to the process of getting better.
It's just what are you focusing on? What do you
have to be more consistent at. But the the point

(14:11):
I was getting at was, over the course of a season,
with the exception of a few like the you know,
the Tom Brady you know New England Patriots, or the
Patrick Mahomes Chiefs for majority of his career, it feels
like you're going to have a little spell of time
during the season where you're going like, why are they
not doing that right? Why does the defense not show

(14:33):
up right? Or what the why did our quarterback just
throw four interceptions? Or last week, why, boy, they got
real sloppy there. Kind of took the gas, the foot
off the gas a little bit and allowed it to
become closer to a game. I don't think it was
as close as the score indicated, but it's still it.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Had a chance. Yeah, they had the on side kicks,
so it was a closer than it felt like it
should have been.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Yes, sure, and so to me it's the I mean,
I don't know for sure if any of these teams,
the Rams are probably the closest Seahawks or second Niners
or third as far as consistency has shown up to
this point. And yet I mean, I feel good about
as if I was a die hard Seahawks fan, I

(15:18):
would feel good about the fact that there has been
times throughout the course of the season that everything has
looked awesome. There's been times the offense looks unstoppable, and
Sam Darnold's been talked to, you know, putt in the
MVP conversation. There's been times, majority of the time, maybe
outside of the Tampa Bay game, that the defense has
been really really good and talked about is one of

(15:39):
the best, if not the best, in the game. The
special teams has been great. And then you go out
and give up a punt return against the Tennessee Titans
last weekend. So but for the majority of the time,
it's felt like this team is has the ability to
click in all different phases, whereas some teams. You know,
when I think of the Panthers, I don't think the
pa Anthers as really good at anything. And yet They're

(16:02):
one of those teams that's in that tier below those
that I think are for sure playoff teams and could
possibly win the Super Bowl. So I mean, I'm just
interested with when it comes to your confidence meter, if
I mean, are you in the same boat as I
am where you think the Rams seem more complete at

(16:23):
this point, even though we're only two weeks removed from
a loss against them, that you actually felt like you
outplayed him.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
In a lot of facets, Yeah, I guess I would
say though that I do think at this point we
did outplay them, But I do think that they're more
of a complete team just because of what we saw.
We've seen week after week from them. It wasn't just
that one game, right, They just seem to have the
formula figured out. And Matt Stafford seems to be playing

(16:54):
even better in his career. Later in his career, when
people thought he was probably just about done injuries, we're
gonna do him in and here he comes just still
delivering the ball perfectly, well mostly perfectly all the time.
So that's that's the thing where I would give the
advantage to the Rams for sure. And I do think
that Sam Donald is a good quarterback, and I think

(17:15):
that we have the right quarterback. I just don't think
he has the experience yet of playing winning football like
Matt Stafford does. And there's a big difference between playing
winning football and playing on a team that's not winning.
I mean, you're gonna, you're just it's an entirely different game.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Right.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
So now that he's this is his second season of
playing some winning football, I think he's gonna quickly gain
more and more of that experience under his belt. And
that'll be helpful, obviously. But you got a long way
to go to catch up to Matt Stafford.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Yeah, I mean I think a distinct different. I think
that Sam Donald can go out there and outduel him
on any given night, right or get out dueled. It
could go either way. I think the difference. Matt Stafford
wasn't on a winning team when he was with the Lions.
A matter of fact, he was on a bad team.
But it wasn't ever because of him, right, he was

(18:07):
never he never had to go through this rebirth thing
of you get to the highest level and you fail
and all of a sudden you're you're carrying a clipboard.
You know, you are considered a bust. He was a
guy that even though he was on bad teams and
the Detroit Lions couldn't win when he was there, it
wasn't because of him. So when he got traded to

(18:28):
the Rams, it was you just keep doing what you're doing.
We have a better situation here, We're going to surround
you with more talent, and boom he just does. He
does exactly, just keep doing what he's doing with a
better team, and they go win the Super Bowl. I
think Sam Darnold, there's something about those those skeletons that
you kind of have to push out of your mind

(18:50):
and you go, I don't was that was a bad situation.
Anybody that gets drafted by the Jets as a quarterback
ends up struggling and turns into, you know, a backup
quarterback at some point or so it seems so. I
think that they're on different timelines. But there's no way
fans or Bucks that. I think that Sam Darnold has
a capability of making all of the throws and leading teams,

(19:12):
and he doesn't seem like he gets a rattled when
things aren't going his way. I think that he gets
a little bit more of negative stuff held up against
him when he has a bad game because of the
way in which his career started, Whereas Matt Stafford could
throw have a bad game and throw a few picks
and nobody's gonna go, oh, is that the Jets?

Speaker 4 (19:32):
I mean, brock Perty threw three last night almost four,
and nobody was yelling at the TV that he almost
lost the game for him because the game wasn't in
question either. It was against a bad team.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Yeah, one hundred percent. So all right, well we're gonna
get We're gonna do a little bit more on this.
We're gonna get down to the nitty gritty and find
out exactly what Ashley and I think about the NFC
West and how it's going to shake out, how many
teams are going to make it to the playoffs. But
first we are going to find out what is on
tap for the rest of the show.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
What's on tap?

Speaker 2 (20:03):
What's on tap? Well, we got a I guess we
got a cracking ticket Tuesday today. That's one thing. I'm
not sure exactly how that works.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
So a chance to win every hour, You're gonna listen
for the crack and sounder when we play it tenth
collar at two o six two, eight six, ninety five
ninety five will win a pair of tickets to see
the Kraken and the Minnesota Wild on December eighth.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Nice lot. We just give away a lot of stuff.
That's one thing that in my notes here, I'm realizing
there's a lot of stuff we got to give away,
and we'll get to that, but basically what else we
got on tap today? We're obviously moving on towards the Vikings. Uh,
it is a Turkey hump day. Considering the short week,
we're gonna go ahead and move in that direction. College
football playoff rankings come out tonight, so we'll talk to

(20:47):
Rick Neuheisel about that. The Vikings coming into town here
this weekend. We'll find out what Greg Bell has to
say about not last week, but this week, see how
the health of the squad is. It is duck week,
and so tomorrow we're having an hour long college round
table and an hour long NFL roundtable where I'm going

(21:09):
to be ganged up. And so today is my day
where it's just Ashley and I won on one Mono
Imano and we're gonna talk some trash maybe not. We
got Geene's territory coming on at eight o'clock tonight or
eight o'clock this morning, Everett fits you will be on
at eight thirty. We got a lot of stuff to cover,
so we got hockey, college football. I think we might

(21:30):
dabble in a little bit of fantasy football. Obviously the
NFL is primo at this point in time in the year.
We got some factor fiction coming up. Stick around because
on the other side of this break, we're gonna get
into whether or not we like the idea of Black
Friday football or just having football four out of five
days in a row. It is a holiday season. Stick
around here at ninety three point three KGRFM. If you

(21:51):
would have told me, if you would have told me,
is that Led Zeppelin or Huey Lewis.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Oh, you would have known it? Then I should have
asked you that way.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah, next time, I would have known, and that like.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Is that Paula Abdul or Huey Lewis? If if it's, uh,
we'll have to see, Okay, you can tell Okay, wait.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
That's a good idea. We can do that. It'll be
a fun game for me to fail out all day. Okay,
I like it because it sucks. I love Led Zeppelin.
I mean, whenever I hear it, I'm like, oh, I
love this song Come Home Mom, and I love the song,
and I had a lot of their songs, and yet
I couldn't tell you that was them.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
That's fair.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
He would probably want to punch me in the face
if he knew how bad I was at that game.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
He yeah, especially with Led Zeppelin yea or Rolling Stones.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Yeah, he would not be a fan and tough luck. Well, anyways,
welcome to the show. I am Buck, the one that
does not know who sings any song in the world ever,
and that's Ashley. We have no Chuck. He's taken the
week off and and good for him. I hope he's
enjoying his sleep. We do not do that. Although today
was a lot better than getting here at five o'clock

(22:53):
yesterday morning, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Yeah, it was nice to be here at like more
of the normal time. Uh huh, Yeah, I appreciate. I
appreciated that, Thanks Lok, Greg. But no, we're glad that
we got to talk to Greg yesterday. We will get
to talk to him again at seven and all of
our regular Tuesday guests, so.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Looking forward to that. I was wanting to talk to
you a little bit about I saw last night while
I was watching the Monday night football game, the ad
about Black Friday football, right, and it is just I mean,
I like football, and I like sitting in my chair
and watching football. And yet there's times you know when
you do this job that you're like watching sports becomes

(23:32):
a little bit of a job when you were forced
like you have to. And so over the weekend, we
don't have to watch all of this stuff. I mean,
it's good to be prepared. But at the same time,
I mean the three games on Thanksgiving Day and then
they have this now I think this is the third
year that they've done the Black Friday games. You'll have
the Bears versus Eagles the day after, which I love.

(23:55):
My wife's not one that necessarily does the whole Black Friday. Hey,
let's go out with a mob of people, but you
know the idea of those that do. And if you
want to stay home and not go do the crowds,
you have something like a noon kickoff game the day after.
I can guarantee I will be making a gigantic plate

(24:16):
of smoke, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, the whole leftover thing
like it's like, do it again. Just pretend that it's
Thanksgiving again and give thanks and get to watch another
football game. And then obviously Saturday we have our Ducks
Versus Huskies game, right, and then Sunday the regular slate
of Sunday football games as well, and then you got Monday.

(24:38):
I mean, it's basically five days in a row of
football starting on Thanksgiving. Are you are you a fan
of all that kind of football?

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Here's the thing, So didn't we used to have that
it was four games on Thanksgiving? Did they do that
and then move one off to the next day? I
imagine that you might have that, right.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
I can't remember, but I I don't. I don't mind
having the game on Friday. I just wish it was
later in the day, Like I kind of want my
football later in the afternoon so I can get some
stuff done in the day, especially because you know Friday
is the first day I can decorate for Christmas. Oh
that's true, So I gotta get that done. You thrown
in jail, yeah, exactly, and so I've got to I mean,

(25:19):
at that point, you've got bins out everywhere, You're up
and down in the attic and all of these things,
and then I don't want to, you know, make five
iron annoyed when I'm moving things in front of the TV,
and I just I want to be able to have
it where I've kind of more settled now. I'm just
placing things and have football on the background, you know,
leftovers for dinner, and so that's my one thing. I

(25:41):
just wish it was later in the day.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
I hear you, I'm I'm actually I kind of like
the noon. But then again it's because I don't I
don't really get after it with the the booze all
of that often anymore. I don't like, you know, nothing
like I used to be. I'm just not a giant
fan that you get to fifty. I don't know if
it was right at fifty or if it was starting

(26:05):
to slowly get to that point and I just was
ignoring it or trying to ignore it. But the day
after this ends up turning into like two days after
sometimes where I just don't feel great. And so I'll
still probably have a you know, glass of wine or
five on thanks for Thanksgiving, but I'm gonna try to

(26:26):
take it somewhat low key because now with this morning schedule.
If I'm not hungover, I will I'll still get up
kind of early and I can get a bunch of
stuff done before that game. And then it's kind of
like the idea of getting up and I'm gonna probably
split some wood and stack some wood and you know,
make a fire, just do all the stuff that I

(26:47):
typically would do on a Friday or Saturday. Even though
this is going to be a Friday without work. To me,
I feel like there's going to be a part of
me where I'm gonna be able to get some stuff
done and then it's like my day is done. My
chores are done for the day. If that makes sense,
I mean yours is going to be. I think decorating
a house, the inside of a house, probably your house

(27:09):
probably takes a whole heck of a lot longer than
what it'll take me to go out and split a
quard of wood and stack it and then take a
shower and make my gigantic plate of leftovers and sit
down for the day.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
I just think even one thirty would have been a
better I know it's not it's not the ideal time,
but like keeping it more in the NFL window, Yeah,
so having it at like one one five. I would
that would even be better, right, I don't. I just
the noon just feels early.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Yeah. Well, the nice thing too, is it is a
game of interest for folks around here. I mean the
the you know, and the Bears and Eagles. They're both teams.
I mean, I don't I do not know what to
think about the Bears. I mean, maybe Kayla Williams is
is arriving. It seems like he is to some degree.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
They're one of those teams though that it's just like
the Colts. Everyone's like, mmmm, are they really as good
as they's schedule says they are? And so every single
game they have you think, well, they can't possibly win
this one, and you know, at the end, like they've
been winning all of these other games, there's no way
they can sustain this, which I believe people have said
about the Mariners in the past. There's no way they
could keep winning one run games. You can.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
So it's interesting though, because I will be I will
definitely want to want to be watching it because I
am curious to see if the Bears can can make
that that jump.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Yeah, to be like, okay, you're relevant now. They have
been relevant for a while, you're not just relevant. I
mean they're sitting at eight and three, they're in the
playoffs at this point in time. If the season was
stand and yet it's not, and you have to kind
of figure this thing out for the final month and
a half of the season. It's interesting. All of the games,
basically Thursday and Friday are they're all They all have

(28:50):
interesting storylines, right, Chiefs and Cowboys are on you know, Packers' lines.
Of course that's a that's one where what's going to happen?
Who are the Lions?

Speaker 4 (28:59):
I don't like one's the morning game. No, I want
to see that one at night.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
When you actually have turkey. Yeah, yeah, or even if
you're not doing turkey.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
Baltimore Cincinnati, especially although Joe Burrow is supposed to play,
so that does make it more exciting. Yeah, I guess, yeah,
I don't know. I just the Packers' lines for some reason.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
To me.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
I know that they usually play early, but I would
like to see that later.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Yeah, I think that. I think that I'm with you.
I think the other two probably have better storylines. But
the Bengals one is a lot of folks are like,
why would you play him? You're three and eight, and
yet they are only three games behind the Ravens.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Who that Yeah, because and.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
You look at the Bengals schedule, they they win this
game and then they they have this game Bills and
Ravens again.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
M h.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
If they somehow Joe Burrah comes back and is a
shot in the arm and they win these three games, oh,
there'll be a game out of first place. And they
got a cake walker.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
They played Miami, Arizona and Cleveland. Yeah, the last two
games are at home.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah, the Bengals are like, they're three and eight and
they're the only three in eight that is getting back
a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback and their division leaders has
six wins. I mean, it's there's a ton of storylines
just in those Thursday games and then Friday, hence the
super Bowl that is the NFL. So we're going to

(30:15):
continue to dive into that. On the other side of this,
it's our first little one on one Ashley and Buck
talking about Duck Weeks. So stick around here at ninety
three point three k JRFM. It's about I don't know
any songs. I know what that song is, I don't
know it was in the news. Yeah, I bet he
did I bet he write the fight song for you?

(30:36):
Dub Well, by the way, first first words out of
our boy purple sheets mouth yesterday, I had didn't say hi,
didn't say how the show go? It was a few
and the ducks.

Speaker 4 (30:53):
Yeah that's how it should be, is it?

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Yeah? Very very violent?

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Well, if it makes you feel better. I just got
complete crapped on for wearing a green sweater yesterday because
I get dressed at four fifteen and felt like, oh,
it's a nice, warm sweater and I'm cold and wonderful.
Then I basically went home and burned it, and today
I'm wearing purple legging.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
You look good in green. Actually, green's a great growler.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Well, I mean, I don't mind the color green, and
that was a dark green. It wasn't even remotely close
to the we have all greens. Well, that's true, you
do have a lot of them.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
We have a lot of greens. I haven't seen our
uniforms yet. See how awesome they are. You know they're
going to be amazing.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
I don't think there's a lot of your uniforms that
are amazing.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
I know, but that's just because you hate them so much. Yeah,
you do not look at it objectively. No, I said,
a couple of days ago, your guys's uniforms, the Huskies uniforms.
Couple wasn't as last week because it was just normal.
But it was a week before there was the what
was the special uniforms a week before the Huskies had
on Was it a military looking wo There was some

(31:58):
sort of cameoish.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
They did it. That was the was it on the numbers?

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Yeah, there was something different about it. Dang it, I remember,
and I ended up. I think I might have tweeted
about it. I think I might have tweeted, these are
really these are really nice uniforms that the Huskies have on.
See I can compliment.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Yeah it was uh yeah, the numbers had the camo
color and then there was some black camo and yeah yeah,
so it was the purple jersey with some camo throughout.
Yeah yeah, they look nice.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
See how easy that is to just give compliments.

Speaker 4 (32:35):
Okay, I'll see this. You guys did a Grateful Dead
tribute and the numbers were like a tie die. That
was a cool touch.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Okay, ah, that's good. I'm glad that we got that.
We just went overcame a hurdle right now, So how
are you feeling? You? You you excited? Are you nervous?
I mean, it's the opportunity to possibably knock the Ducks
out of the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Well, that's what it's all about, right, I mean, that's
what the rival that's what any rivalry game is all about. Now,
obviously we had a different kind of rivalry here with
Washington and Oregon a couple of years ago, with both teams, Yeah,
on the top of the conference, and I mean at
that point, you really are playing for the championship. That's
a much bigger deal, right, But here, right now, Yeah,

(33:25):
your chance to ruin another team season, especially a team
you hate. That's the way it should be. We did
get a text that said, I'm not comfortable with Bucky
saying it's Duck week. I do have to let the
listener know, we always call this Duck week. It's it
has nothing to do with you calling it.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
That call the Husky week.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
Every week's Husky week. This is Duck week. And every
year when whatever we've talked about this game, it's always
duck week.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Yeah, so it's not a Bucky thing. Bucky is doing
just fine.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah, exactly, I'm not trying to. I mean it is
I do get to kind of run the show today,
and so it's the one day before tomorrow when I'm
going to get ganged up on by you and cam Willa.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Just wanted to remind you you run the show.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Yeah, changed, yes, yes, I mean I have I have
three segments in here today about to talk about the Ducks.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Well, it is a big it's a big deal. I
mean especially you know, it used to be Apple Cup
this week and that was a lot of fun. But
and now Apple Cup just doesn't even have remotely the
same feeling around it, not only because we're not in
the same conference, but because then the game got moved
to September, so at least it was replaced with another
game that is a rivalry game.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, I don't understand how. I mean, the idea of
the expansion of the college playoffs and all of that,
it's changing. The game is changing, period, andil changed it.
The dissolving of the PAC twelve changed it. Coaches moving
and players not stand for anywhere for any longer than
what they absolutely have to until they find greener pastures

(35:01):
somewhere else. The game has changed. And yet there's certain
things I mean, at least as a fan that like
Ducks Huskies, it's not you know how I am. I
despise the Beavers more growing up. But the game has
changed to the point now where it's not even a game.
It's very similar to you Dub versus Wazoo, as sad

(35:23):
as it is, it's you're not playing on equal fields anymore.
You're you're not working with the same tools as far
as both universities and how you can recruit and all
that kind of stuff. And so this is now the
main rivalry, even though I've been put one dragging my feet,
you know, kicking and scream and not wanting to give

(35:44):
up what I grew up with, which was we would
get our butt kicks Bucks butts kicked by the Huskies.
The game that mattered us was well, a civil war,
and so it was that's all that matters. So now
this is this is it, and it is going to
be a good one and I'm looking forward to We're
going to discuss tailgating with Medley's a little bit later

(36:04):
because I got to find out what the hell I'm
in for and if I should bring my child.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Yeah I'm bringing mine.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Yeah, Well that makes me feel a little safer, although Paul,
we're gonna try to beat up Baron.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Oh there's always that chance.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
Oh man, this is this is scary. We're gonna have
to We're gonna have to discuss this. We're gonna have
to discuss this. Uh. But on the other side, we're
gonna get to some headlines. We're gonna get to another
conversation with Greg Bell. So stick around here at Sports
Radio ninety three point three KGRFM.
