Speaker 1 (00:00):
There are a lot of things to discuss. Back. It's
a good thing.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
We got two guys that are pretty sharp when it
comes to covering the Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
That's right, you and Ashley And Yeah, I'm here. Yeah,
that's what I was thinking. I'm sure the listeners agree.
It's time for the twelfth Man round Table.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Our QB one Hugh Millan is here, our Seahawks insider
Greg Bell is here, and we welcome them to the
radio program. Hello, gentlemen, Happy game Day, good.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Morning, good morning, Yes, it is a happy game day.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Good morning, LFG, PUFM on you let's go, come on,
not it, come on, you need help, Let's.

Speaker 5 (00:48):
Get him out there?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
You?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Uh this this stadium better sound like the Boston Garden
beat l A. Come on, I mean, I mean, does
it get any more full tilt regular season fired up
for this than this? Hugh?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I mean, put this one in perspective in terms of
how excited you are to watch a Seahawk football game.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Oh, I think it's been I can't years for sure.
I don't know. I just I really like this team.
I love Mike McDonald, uh, Sam Donald. I think the principals,
you know, Devin Witherspoon. I just can't stop thinking about that, dude.
Just you know, I just I just love the makeup
of the team. I think they're on the incline. But

(01:36):
it's go time. This is this is all gas, no
breaks tonight. You got a chance to go put yourself
in the pole position for the number one seed in
the NFC. You know, Pat Mahomes is out like there
is a path to the Lombardi Trophy. Those guys know it.
All the storylines. I'm eating up every single one of them. Greg.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I remember when they lost to the Rams and the
Seahawks are already talking about we can't wait to face
them again.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Well, here we go.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
And they didn't cost themselves with some trap loss in
the meantime, so they understand what's at stake here this evening.
What's the vibe over there in renting right now?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Well, I think this may benefit that this is a
short week. The vibe is that they're tired from having
played the Colts and they are aware of the stakes obviously.
And Julian Love talked to me the other day on
Monday and he says, like some guys will say, oh,
this is a December game, and this is just another
game or a championship opportunity. Like a former coach who

(02:39):
used to say, but Julian Love saying, nah, we know
what the stake here. Yeah, we got a chance at
the number one seed and home field and playing all
games in Seattle and getting a buy the only buying
the conference. They're well aware that the vibe is that
they're excited for being able to put themselves in this opportunity,
that they've earned the opportunity. But you know what, they

(02:59):
also know they haven't beaten the Rams in forty nine ers,
and they understand themselves that they have to prove to
themselves that they can do that.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
This is why they hired Mike McDonald.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
This is why to beat Sean McVay and beat Kyle
Shanahan inside the NFC West. And he hasn't done it.
He did it in the JV game at the end
of last season. But as you and I have talked about,
let's just throw that out. But this is why Mike
McDonald's here, So let's see what happens. We're going to
talk about factors and a bunch of stuff this hour.
I want to bring up right off the top that

(03:31):
I think the biggest factor as far as the conditions
tonight are, is going to be the wind. There's forecast
to be twenty nine hour winds gusting up to forty
as the game begins and then tapering off and not
being quite as strong as the game continues. They can
deal with rain, he will tell you that, especially at
the NFL level, but now even at college. At a

(03:51):
high school level, they swapped the ball out every time.
The referees allowed to bring in a new, fresh, dry
ball every single snap. It's the win that you have
to count. I talked to the Tonight Show when I
was filling in for Ian yesterday afternoon, to Mike Holmgrim,
and the coach said, Yeah, of all the things you
deal with and figure out and put into your game
plan of factors that could affect you, the wind is

(04:12):
the one that you actually have to really pay attention to.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
He says.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
It'll make you throw the ball shorter, it'll make you
run the ball more, it'll make you tell your punter
he's got a line drive kicks instead of boot him
as far as hard as he can. And of course
it'll affect the field goal kickers, especially into the open
end downtown right the left as you're watching on TV tonight.
All of that adds to the preparation and the intrigue
of his game.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
And I mentioned this to you already, Chuck.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
There are going to be things tonight none of us
have seen Mike McDonald do on defense to Sean McVay, all.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
Kinds of combinations and nick emn worry. Use.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
The only thing we haven't seen nick Eman Worry do
is play nose tackle, and we may see that tonight too.
We're going to see a bunch of stuff that McVay
hasn't seen, and McVay is going to have a few
things for McDonald. The thing about the short week and
only three days in between games, though, is you can't
do too much of that, or else the players will
play slow and think too much this week in Rent

(05:09):
And they've really tried to emphasize what they do well,
and they're going to simplify to what they do best
with a couple of new things, and they want those
guys not thinking and just playing fast.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
All right, Well, let's separate those two because those are
two pretty big topics. So Hugh, first, let's deal with
the weather. How's it going to affect Sam? How's it
going to affect myers? How's it going to affect the
game tonight?

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Well, you know, I've I designed a football that for
ten years that ultimately became an Adida's ball. I've put
footballs in wind tunnels. I've started in Buffalo. The windiest
game I've ever played into my life was playing against
the Bills. And here's my takeaway. You can throw down

(05:49):
win if you drive the ball. You can throw into
the win if you drive the ball. But if you
go the wind is going across the ball and hits
the fat part of the ball. There's no there's no
quarter John, not John Elway, not Josh Allen, There's nobody's
not Who's gonna be not affected by a ball across

(06:12):
the wind across the ball? And and I remember, you
know in Buffalo, Uh, in the first quarter I throw
out to the flat to the running back John Steep
and the ball just was like a frisbee. And and
and I went on to UH, I went on the
headset and I said, look, I can throw it between

(06:33):
the numbers. But either way, I can throw it between
the numbers, but I can't don't. I can't throw it
outside the numbers. Because of this win yeah, and and
so that that's gonna be a factor is knowing which
direction it goes, because because Sam Doron can spin that ball,
he can pierce it. But but here, here's here's schematically

(06:54):
how it's likely to be. In fact, if you play
the Seahawks may play more press covered in the wind
for the following reason. A lot of the quick game
that is in an NFL playbook, a hitch, a five
yard out, a twelve yard out, a skinny post. There
are a number of routes that what's called convert to

(07:15):
a fade. And so you basically tell a receiver, hey,
you get pressure, you know, oh that route return turns
into a fade. And now throwing the ball up the
sideline and trying to throw a touch that that's the
ball that gets tossed around the most. So you could see,
you know, and you don't need to have a safety

(07:36):
on that half of the field. You can play single
safety press, whether it's cover three deep zone or whether
it's what's called cover one man and man and and
and do that against doing that against the Rams. And
now they may have it done against them, but that
would be a schematic factor and something that you should
look for tonight, but.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I g ask Greg another reason to try to establish
the run tonight.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Yes, I think in any weather condition, this team needs
to do more of that and better. They ran from
just forty nine yards Seahawks did against the Colts, yet
they ran twenty two times. Most teams, if you're getting
forty nine yards, you just stop running. And we've learned
time and again that Klint Kubiak will not just stop running.
He's going to continue to do it. He's going to

(08:22):
do it tonight to help out Josh Jones, who has
to start up left tackle because I've mentioned this was
the wrong week for Charles Cross to come back from
a hamstring injury, playing in only four days after the
last time. So it's gonna be Josh Jones making his
first Seattle start, in fact, his first start since twenty
twenty three in September of twenty three when he made
his last start for Houston and then hasn't started for

(08:43):
the Texans or Baltimore since then.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
So they're probably going to start by running the ball.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
And when I was at Coach Holmer and yesterday he
said that they need to run it with Kenneth Walker
in a game like this with his athletic and as
as strong as the Rams defensive front, they need a
guy who makes the guys miss and him. That's Walker
over sharpening, and we've talked about that. The question, and
of course, is the remains. Are they going to be
effective running? Because that's the key. The Rams can spit

(09:12):
on the running game with their front. They don't have
to do anything extra. They don't have to bring another
safety down on the box. They can control Seattle's running
game with what they have up front. So can Kubiak
force any change in the front for the Rams that
would allow them to open up the pass game down
the field? And it's going to be the same against
the forty nine ers in the last week of the season.

(09:34):
They got to run the ball to win the division.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Hey, maybe that's the case here and maybe weather changes this.
I just I've been stating this and I'll get your
reaction to it all week long. I just don't want
to lose this game, just constantly trying to establish something
they haven't been good at all year. If I'm going
to lose this game, I want to lose it with
Sam Donald throwing the football.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
What's your reaction to that? Yeah, I tend to agree
with you. Of course, the win maybe play, but when
may change that completely. I mean to stay ahead of
the of the sticks. You know, I think that you
you you pass first and then you mix it up
with run. Particularly in the red zone. The Seahawks on
first down, uh in the red zone for the entire

(10:15):
season average two point two yards on first down running
the ball. They are constantly getting behind the the sticks.
It's like it's it's like a hitter bucky right there.
They're constantly oh one uh in in every at bat
when they get into the red zone. And and so
the percentage has changed. So that's a factor for them. Uh.

(10:39):
Now they didn't have Sundell in the last meeting that
olo Timmy making his first start. That was pivotal in
in Darnold's first interception. Uh. The issue with Josh Jones, Uh,
you know, it's it's something that Seattle's gonna have to
work around. And and I'll give you just here here's
a factor that that Mike McDon is just gonna have

(11:01):
to and Clint Kubik have are going to have to
work around. These are the rankings of the Seahawks offensive
line per Pro Football Focus. Left to right. Now I'm
gonna say Charles Cross, and I'll come back to Josh Jones,
Charles Cross twenty six, Tackle Zabel sixty six, Sundell twenty six.

(11:21):
This is rankings at your position, then sixty one, and
then twenty three. Here's the RAMS ranking left to right,
left tackle eight, then five, nine, two, and ten. Not
one lineman outside of the top ten, not one Seahawk
inside the top twenty. And Josh Jones, for what it's worth,
is at a level that would be fifty third. So

(11:42):
so there's a decided advantage at least by that metric
for the Rams, and and and yet there's some advantages
for Seattle. But when you're talking about the running game, Chuck,
and you're you're, you're, you're leaning on that disadvantage, I
would I would tend agree. Don't knock your head against
the wall, you know, try and get some big plays

(12:02):
down the field.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Can I say something about Pro Football references, Football Focusers
rankings for a minute, It had Byron Murphy as one
of the worst defensive interior defensive linemen in the league
last week, and Mike McDonald said it was the best
game he's ever seen a defensive tackle play. He said
he was unbelievable, And I was watching Byron Murphy split
defensive tackles and make tackles that the line of scrimmager

(12:24):
behind while two guys were trying.

Speaker 5 (12:26):
To block them.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Within the circles, we've talked about Pro Football Focused, but
just for fans know within the circles, that's the team
inside the buildings. In general, this is a generalization. They
think offensive and defensive line rankings for Pro Football Focus
are useless. They do believe that their tackle, outside linebacker,
defensive backs, skill position player.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
There are some truth in the.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Rankings and they in fact, agents and teams do use them,
especially come contract time. But it is almost close your
eyes and throw dart aboard sometimes to the rankings for
offensive and defensive line mean because they don't know what
assignments are. They don't know where guys are supposed to be,
what gaps they're supposed to have, what the stunts are.
But I can tell you that Byron Murphy inside the

(13:14):
building is a hero. They think that he has I mean,
he's earned. He was at forty nine percent of snaps
last year, and we talked about how that had to change.
It's up now damn near seventy plus percent of every
game because he's earned the pass rush reps too. It
The defensive front for Seattle is the key to this game.

(13:35):
If they can continue to cover with seven, mcvay's offense
is not built for that. That's that is you wouldn't
we asked why is McDonald having success against McVeigh.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
That is why.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
If four guys can affect the quarterback or at least
make Stafford get it out even if he doesn't get sacked,
mcvayh doesn't have an answer for seven men in coverage
and a couple of them being all pro colber like
even worry in Witherspoon.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
So I just when I heard Pro.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Football Focus, I know if a lot of fans have
been asking why the hell Gray's abel was ranked solo?
For instance, why the hell Anthony Bradford is ranked so
high all the time? We think he's just standing around
watching guys, and especially the Byron.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Murphy was there was a disconnect this week for sure.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Well, yeah, let me respond to that. Yeah, First of all,
I've said many times, I'm not saying you haven't that
PFF is not perfect. I think they get more right
than they get wrong. Secondly, they every single team in
the NFL subscribes to their UH, to their services, and

(14:38):
on the aggregate, what was the number one ranked offensive
line in football last year per Pro Football Focus. The
Eagles like they get more right than they get wrong.
I mean they get stuff wrong in the secondary. I
can remember in Week one against the Bengals UH where
uhek gave up a touchdown and they signed it to

(15:00):
the cornerback and and I'm like, no, that that that's
covered two. That's the safety. Like I've had my shake
the head moments. But I would say that again, as
a general rule, you can follow them. There's a reason
why every team in the NFL subscribes to him. And

(15:22):
as for you know, Anthony Bradford is ranked sixty first guard.
Does that strike anybody is out of line? But we're
here to talk about the Seahawks and the Rams.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
But yeah, well let's talk about the defense, and I
do in our next ever, we want to get into
Greg's point about what tricks Mike McDonald might have up
his sleeve. But here, what is it in game number
one that they were so effective? I mean they just
shut down Matt Stafford. What do you have one hundred
and thirty passing yards in that game. It's the guy
that's played like an MVP every single game except against

(15:56):
Mike McDonald's defense.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
So what is it that they were doing so effectively.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Against the Rams offense in the previous game, And then,
of course, what do you think they'll do to adjust
to mcveigh's adjustments.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Well, there's a big talk about the thirteen personnel and
three tight ends, and they had come in for four
weeks in a row. They were hot. They had like
eight touchdown passes out of thirteen in the couple weeks
leading up to it, and Seattle played mostly nickel against
thirteen personnel. You would think that would be a big

(16:30):
weight disadvantage. Now down on the goal line, there's a
couple of times where they went they remained in nickel,
but they went with an extra defensive lineman and took
out a linebacker. But they had the athleticism to cover
the field. But they also had the physicality. And then
they they as they often do, they have simulated pressures

(16:53):
where they have they make you think just a split second.
Even Stafford, a veteran, you know, they got guys up
the line of scrimmage, you don't know who's coming, but
they covered well and you know they had a couple
of gap breakdowns Ernest Jones was actually a culprit, and
a couple of big runs where they weren't in the

(17:14):
right gap in the first quarter. They buttoned that up
and for the game, they held the Rams to their
fewest yards for the season, that at four hundred and
fourteen yards for the Seahawk offense. They put up the
most yards of the Rams defensive surrendered. And you go
back even to a year ago when not the Week

(17:38):
eighteen game, because that we all say that's a JV game,
but the one in lumen Field the Seattle lost in overtime.
There were seven three and outs that the Sea Hawk
defense forced against that Ram offense. They only scored thirteen
points offensively for the four quarters. So McDonald has he's

(18:00):
been able to put a lid on that McVeigh offense. Yeah,
no question.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Sheil Capatti is a friend of mine who used to
cover the beat with me in the Seahawks and now
he's with the Ringer. He's with the Athletic at times
based in Philadelphia. He wrote yesterday that that was the
worst game of Matthew Stafford's career, and he's been playing
for a minute. If you go by the basic metric
that the newly analytic metric that he was mentioned EPA
expected points at it. He said that was the lowest

(18:28):
expected points at a game of Matthew Stafford's career.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Why is that?

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Well, we mentioned two of the three touchdown drives the
Rams had last month against the Seahawks and Englewood were
four and twenty five yards because of sam Donold's interceptions.
Their three touchdown drives were four, seventy four and twenty
five in two complete games eight quarters in regulation play.

(18:52):
Sean mcvay's offense has driven the field more than half
the field to score against Mike McDonald's defense just twice.
Two touchdowns and eight quarters. Hmmm, it's more than luck.
And Hugh mentioned the three tight ends. The Rams do
it twenty five percent of the time. The rest of
the league averages five percent. Thirteen personnel. The Rams do
it five times more than anybody else five times. And

(19:14):
tonight DeVante Adams isn't playing. Wow, he's doubtful because of
the hamstring, which means they're probably going to go even
thirteen y even thirteen ish more than they are already.
Kobe Parkinson's a big part of that. They have a
backup tight end Pergison who's six' six in a matchup,
problem and the third string tight end is three. Touchdowns
the reason why they go nickel against thirteen is because

(19:34):
of Nick Emun, worriy because nobody else in the league
has with The seahawks have in Nick Emun, worry and
that is the reason that The seahawks have an advantage
if they go thirteen, Tonight they're gonna Put Emon, worry
Probably woolen And witherspoon all on the. Field it's the
same time against three tight, ends and they can cover
and play the run with those. GUYS i think McDonald
thinks he's got McVeigh.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
GUYS i really, YEAH i, know and real. Quick The
rams had not played that personnel group through the first
five weeks and then leading up to THE seaot. Game
before they were at forty six percent and forty five
percent in the two weeks Before. Seattle then they went
thirty six. Percent then they seem to have, said, well
that didn't work very. Well they dropped down to eleven

(20:15):
percent after THE seaog. Game eighteen. Percent now they've cranked
it back up fifty eight percent two weeks ago and
then a season high sixty two percent this most Recent,
Sunday so you, know it seemed like McVeigh might be
ramping that back. Up And greg's exactly. Right Emon worry's
ability to cover ground in, space but also to be

(20:37):
physical at the point of attack when they run at
him like he was against The ram big part of.
That all, right helly you Mellan greg bell with.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Us it is a game day twelve man round table
getting a set For Seahawks rams tonight right here In.
Seattle first place in the division on the line for
both teams who sit at eleven.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
Three on the. Year what a huge.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Game and we still haven't talked About DeVante adams playing
in this. Game and, ALSO i know you're all wondering
what Tricks mike McDonald has up his. Sleeve so we'll
Pin greg down with that coming up.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
In our next.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Segment Sports radio ninety three point THREE, Kjrfm Mike florio
has gone as far as sand the biggest game of
the year period in The National Football league and it
goes down on our soil tonight and we've got our
guys to break it down for. Us here on the
roundtable Our seahawks inside Of Craig bell and also are Qb,
One Hugh millen And HUGH i, mean this is the

(21:29):
coaching battle McDonald versus. McVeigh my, goodness it does seem
to be That mike McDonald's got mcveigh's. Number but you,
know mcvay's making, adjustments But mike McDonald's making adjustments based
on what adjustments he.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Thinks mcvay's gonna.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
MAKE i, mean this is the chess match that you live, for,
Right oh, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
And this is why they acquired. Him AND i think
that McVeigh has proven to be a guy that has
earned that offensive. REPUTATION i mean he had you, know
he won A Super bowl With stafford in year one
that that's kind, OF i don't want to say unheard,
of but it just shows his acumen and so he's

(22:09):
got a vision of offense that he's been able to.
EXECUTE i think that the absence Of DeVante adams is
gonna be a big part for. Them so let's see
What seattle does With Puka. Nakua you gotta tackle. Him
he's he's, strong but uh, yeah just the THE xs
and knows how the use of, personnel as we discussed
in the last. Segment and and you know McDonald's. Now

(22:31):
the thing about, McDonald he's he's got a healthy. Group,
now he's Got Julian, love he's Got Devin, witherspoon he's
Got Jaron, reid all the. Guys. Uh and so if
there's gonna be a a week where he's gonna, matter
it's got to matter, now and it's got to matter
with that defensive. Line. Uh in my, OPINION i Think Leonard,

(22:52):
WILLIAMS i think is due for a big. GAME i
just feel like if they're gonna they're gonna uh uh
be successful. TONIGHT i think it's gonna. Involve, yes it's
gonna involve the, schemes the simulated. Pressures BUT i Think
Leonard williams has been the best guy, upfront AND i
think he needs to play like it. Tonight. Greg what

(23:15):
are these tricks you speak?

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Of what are these sleeves and tricks That mike McDonald
comes equipped.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
With, well a lot of them are gonna Involve nick
Even worry and how he deploys him. People all the
attention we've given Even worry and the excellent play Of
witherspoon with. Him, well people don't realize That Greek wolven
is playing more than half the snaps as a rotating third.
Corner he played sixty two percent of the snaps against The.
Colts they're using three corners and they're using two of

(23:42):
them at the same, time and depending on the drive
they predetermined going into the.

Speaker 5 (23:46):
GAME i was asking a dirty about this this.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Week they pretty much, Say, okay third Drive, wolven you're
going in With, Witherspoon fourth drive With, wolven you're gonna
be With. Joe fifth drive, job you're gonna be even
with With. Witherspoon those three guys are rotating among two,
spots and then they can go dine more than they've
gone all season because Of woolen's re. Emergence wollan has
really reinvented himself in the middle of the season to

(24:08):
the point where The seahawks are considering resigning, him which
none of us would have talked about In september And.
October so how they array those three, corners how much
they go, dime WHICH i think will be more than
in the first. Meeting because Of Wolan's emergens And witherspoon
and blitzing him more than they have so far because
they can Keep they feel now confident they can Keep

(24:29):
Emon worriy back in coverage more than they thought maybe he.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Could then you got the. FRONT i think.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
You're gonna see it at, Times Emon worriy And Ernest
jones more than other games as the only off ball.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
LINEBACKERS i think you're gonna See.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Leonard williams pulling The Aaron rodgers stunt in The meadowlands
Last december and dropping into coverage on some more stimulated pressures.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
Than they've run so far this.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
SEASON i think you're gonna See DeMarcus lawrence in the
flat covering as they love the screen game and they
love the plays out in the, flat quick passes in
the flat to their tight ends and running. BACKS i
think might See DeMarcus lawrence in coverage the defensive end
who's known more as a pass. RUSHER i think you
might See Byron murphy as a defensive, end which we
haven't seen a lot of yet this, season But i've

(25:10):
seen it in training camp AND i know it's in his,
bag AND i know that that is in This mike
McDonald back of his head to unleash their co leader
in sacks outside on the edge at. Times so all
of that we really haven't seen much this, season and
that's by.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Design somebody asked.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
ME i was in a securest price up In vancouver
yesterday and they asked me about how basic the game
plan seemed to be in The colts. Game AND i, said,
YEAH i noticed that, too offensively and defensively because they
didn't want to hold their show their cards to. McVeigh
they have been, Practicing chuck for, weeks if not, months

(25:47):
plays and schemes they haven't shown in a game.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
Yet and tonight's the night we're going to see.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Something, fun, fun. Fun, yeah and you, know and he
asked that, Question. Chuck and this is just very intriguing to,
me this new emerging analytic expected points. Added i've run
correlation and many times it's the number one correlation to
winning The. Rams offensive e P a is number one

(26:12):
in THE nfl for the, season the number one team
in the in THE nfl and defense E pa it's
The Seattle. Seahawks and if, you if you further, say,
okay in the last five, games excuse, me since week
five let me strike that since week, Five seattle's defense
is number one in THE, nfl and the following stats

(26:33):
points per, game points per, drive yards per, game yards per,
play defense of the e P a per, play e
P a per, game passing yards per, game in net
yards Passtep seattle number one in all of those statistics
since week, five and AS i, said for the entire,
season number one e P, a which has that high.
Correlation so all the numbers point to everything that we already.

(26:55):
Know the the chess match between McDonald and mcveah is.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Elite, well we got to find time talk About Sam
donald because he was the key really in game number
one because of a bad game that he played four
turnovers in that. Game so what kind Of Sam donald
do you expect to see?

Speaker 1 (27:14):
Tonight? You, WELL i Think Tony gonzalez said about a
month ago on one of These thursday. Nights he, said
the player in THE nfl who has the most pressure
on him Is Sam. Donald and this is the game
That Sam donald has the most. Pressure so why do
we watch? SPORTS i watched The. OLYMPICS i think many

(27:35):
of us watch The. Olympics in, gymnastics that little Girl
leston at the end has to run down that and
tumble and do nine flips in the, air and she's
got to stick the landing and she's been training her
whole life for. It we love that moment because it's,
like it's the clutch. Time this is the clutch time
of her. Life how's she going to? PERFORM i don't have.

(27:56):
Daughters i'm not into, gymnastics But i'm into athletes in pressure.
Situations Sam darnold is in a pressure. Situation november twenty,
seventh twenty twenty, two was a career defining point in his.
Life not necessarily anything, happened but that's where his Career
prior to that date forty nine. Starts before, that his

(28:18):
win percentage was under thirty five. Percent it's over seventy six.
Percent prior to that, date he had one hundred passer
rating on sixteen percent of his. Games since that, date
thirty eight, starts he's one hundred passer rating sixty six
percent of His, like he is a totally different, man
a totally different, quarterback and yet the entire football world

(28:42):
is going to be looking at. Tonight, okay all that's
well and, good what are you going to do? Tonight
and the art of quarterbacking is is when you think
you see a green, light you gotta. Go and if
you're playing cautious because you're worried about pay or you're
worried about how things, go and that causes you to

(29:03):
be a split second, late can't. Play so that is
the big challenge in his. Mind what do his eyes
tell him to? Do and does he trust his? Eyes
and so him Performing you don't even have to like.
Football just Watching Sam donald and the crucible of this
pressure for three hours is going to be great.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Theater, Yeah, Greg i'm perfectly willing to live with a
minus one tonight on the stat sheet turnover. Wise If
Sam donald plays the way he's, playing he just.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Can't be minus. Three just can't be minus.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Three, YEAH i don't think he can be more than
minus one all he minus two would hurt. Him but
he's one and four against The rams all. Time only
The Miami dolphins has he had four losses in five,
games and that was in his first three seasons with
The jets when they were in THE Afc east with
the Terrible jets. Team he's been lost three times in
the last two seasons to The, rams two of them

(29:54):
with The. Vikings he was sacked twelve times in the
Two vikings games against The. Rams nine it's set a playoff.
Record he was sacked zero times against The rams last
month and forty eight. Dropbacks not only did he get not,
sacked he only got hit three. Times one of them
was a hit on the outside pass To smith and
jigger for the. Interception the point is That seahawks think

(30:15):
they can pass protect Against jared versus The rams front.
Tonight so they're gonna throw a little deeper passes than
they'd been throwing Against atlanta and The colts and The
vikings for that, matter when The vikings tore them up
in pass protection early in the. Game so look for
deeper breaking, rounds longer breaking routes tonight than they played
the last. Month and they think that they can get

(30:36):
the matchups With smith And jigba outside off a bootleg
play action and extended. Plays so he looked for him
to roll out a little more than he's been doing
more in the last few.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Weeks Darn i'll say this. Again they have a Super
bowl caliber. Defense if their quarterback doesn't turn over the,
ball they're gonna win.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Tonight and they're gonna win The, west and they're gonna
have number one, seed and they're gonna have two home
playoff games to the super if their quarterback doesn't turn
the ball. Over if their quarterback turns the ball, over
they're going to be on the road as the fifth
seed to Either Tampa bay Or, carolina and then to
Either Chicago, detroit and then to Either La Stan, francisco
or who knows where for THE nfc title.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
Game not to say they can't win, that but that's
a hell of a lot.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Of you say one interception is it's just a fad to.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
COMPETE i didn't say. THAT i SAID i said minus
two or. MORE i think they're in.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
TROUBLE i don't think they can afford two or more
turnovers to give short fields to The rams.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
TONIGHT i saw it last week In, inglewoo last month In.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Inglewood if he throws one fewer interception In inglewood last,
week The seahawks probably win that game because of how
they've changed the field position and deny The seahawks scoring.

Speaker 5 (31:41):
Chances so To.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Hue into your, Point, chuck he can't play worried about those.
INTERCEPTIONS i think the fact that the design of the
players are going to be longer with deeper breaking.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
Routes Like smith And jigbo was feasting on early in the.
Season is going to Help darnold.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Tonight And, SAM i trust let it. Rip, sam let it?

Speaker 5 (31:58):
Rip all right what McDonald said?

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Yesterday actually, yeah he said let it, rip and he
met the whole, team but he said let it.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Rip that was his quote from.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
You All, right one more segment with our. Guys we'll
get huge final. Thoughts we'll Get greg's keys in a.
Prediction it's the Twelfth Man Round, Table Game, Day Sports
radio ninety three point three kJ r F.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
M let's fricking go.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
Everyone aristotle said that once fun a, time one of
the great philosophers.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Of all, time from you, said here's what you do in.
Life you just lfg lfg.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Yep, yeah all, right it's You, millan It's Greg. Bell
it's our Twelfth man Round, Table Game, day Twelfth Man,
roundtable and we are to our final. Segments, So, greg
you dropped a lot of keys here, today but crystallize
it for.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Us put it. Together what's going to happen? Tonight, well excuse.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
Me the first THING i want is a couple of
public service.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Announcements first, one the game is On Amazon, prime as
we all, know and if you And i'm one of
the only three people in The Pacific northwest it doesn't
Have Amazon. Prime the game is also going to be
On fox Thirteen seattle over the, air so if you
don't Have, prime you can still watch it simulcast On fox.
Thirteen they're actually gonna have a pregame show starting at
four o'clock in a postgame show With Aaron levine And.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
The Guyslogist brian, mcmillany previous guest on a show.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Today.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
Yeah the second public service, Announcement The seahawks are going
to look like The Oregon ducks. Tonight remember the uniforms
that the rivalry uniforms that they came out.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
With they're gonna look Like Bucki's o's.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Tonight on the, field white, cream white green. Helmets i've
seen him all week and AND i just shake my
head in the locker.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Room it's just get over. It it's it's going to.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Be the, night WHICH i can't even believe THAT i know,
YOU i THINK i think.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Tonight the key for The seahawks is for their quarterback
not to turn the ball over AND i think he's
going to do.

Speaker 5 (33:53):
THAT i think they're going to have a game.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Plan it's different than it's been the last Since vikings
In atlanta and The. COLTS i mentioned the long we're
developing pass plays again more to our House smith Than
jigba has been killing. Teams AND i think we see
some of the running game emerge a little bit more
than it has.

Speaker 5 (34:09):
Been the key.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Again they can get away with an interception or so From.
Donald he just can't hand them drives after. DRIVES i
think that's going to happen. TONIGHT i Think mike McDonald
is again gonna get the best Of sean. McVay i
think The seahawks win their biggest game in a while
at home. Tonight we'll call it twenty to, seventeen twenty
to eighteen twenty something close to.

Speaker 5 (34:32):
Something it's going to be very.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Close to the last, one just.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
Differently, YEAH i just don't think.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
THAT i can't See donald handing him two touchdowns in
twenty five yards an end. Tonight of, course what they
do did A rams?

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Win all, Right, hugh what do you want to close
us out with? Here you, Know Devin witherspoon was miked
up in the last game and after the, game he
had a message for The rams that he was. Barking in,
essence his, message w you've got away with. One you
damn well know, it and that that's the g rated.

(35:06):
Version it wasn't g rated, right and and there wasn't
any rams that were coming back to him trying to
refute his. Contention SO i think this defense is going
to be just white. Hot CAN'T i can't wait for the.
MATCHUP i do think from a standpoint of of these.

(35:26):
Injuries Josh Jones greg said That seahawks want to get
the ball down the. Field Josh jones at left. TACKLE
i don't have to go back and look at my.
NOTES i remember WHAT i was saying in. Preseason i'm,
like this number seventy four is the, best you, know
backup tackle The seattle's had on their roster in a long.
Time based on what he had done that that's a
big step Between august and. Tonight i'm not saying he's gonna.

(35:50):
Pull i'm, concerned AND i think there has to be a.
PLAN i think there that there's going to be tight,
ends chipping and coming out. LATE i think that going
to be a huge part of the game plan that's
going to affect and and and For Sam, darnold you just, say,
hey remember those tight ends are going to emerge late
as a. Checkdown if you don't like what you, see
like the first interception he threw To Cooper, Cup i'll

(36:14):
take it to my. Grave Cooper cup got a minus
on that that there's no way he's supposed to be
going nineteen yards when he's being. Pressed but For donald it's, like,
hey those tight ends after they, chip they're going to
be in the flat or they're going to be over
the middle for. You so let's see what. Happens and
then for h For Matthew, Stafford Pooka nikou has one
hundred and two. Catches DeVante, adams who's likely to be

(36:37):
out tonight as. Sixty the next closest receiver is. Seventeen
So seattle's got a really and and nicoua, uh he's
in the slot at one hundred and ninety seven. Reps
he's outside at three thirty. Seven most of the offense is,
right so you know where he's gonna line. Up wherever
he lines, up you got to have a plan for

(36:58):
him the rest of. It you, know After adams The
cody Park Colby parkinson has thirty one. Catches that's the
next so the targets are limited For Matthew stafford if
you Have nikua. Covered AND i just can't believe a
three tight end offense is going to do this for the.

(37:18):
Season when they go three tight, ends The rams are
six point one yard square tamp Against seattle's two point,
seven so that all other, teams it's obviously higher than
six point. One so so it didn't hurt him last,
time it's not going to hurt. Him they should be
able to take advantage of this this like these are
two pivotal, Guys Charles, Cross Davante. Adams seattle's got to

(37:41):
win that battle of the injured, players and how.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
You make up for it well and the words Both
aristotle And Hugh MILLEN lfg.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Right any dissenters on, That, no right there with. YOU
i don't say those, words just abbreviated.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
