a lot of people were nervous about the beginning of
this uh season. People were you know, had a lot
(01:16):
to say, and we're concerned about different aspects of what
was going on. And last night, the Orlando Magic hosted
the Portland Trail Blazers here at home.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
They getting a good team or they are good team there.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Let's like middle tier, you know, like on part like
they could rattle off a good run.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I know Bow was court sided for this last night.
Yeah different, Sorry, I know we're talking sport.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
But he has been an outlaw a couple of times.
He has been yet.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
All right, and then this is what the uh winning
game call sounded like.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
Looking though tight outs left the Pats Hubs.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
To pain Paine hoist game after budget heat browser.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Which movie Magic on a Monday night, one fifteen, one twelve,
The final that is going at.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
That's the last second shot. Desmond Bine, our newly acquired
guard Desmond bane brought here to the Orlando Magic specifically
for his outside shooting proudness, and he was able to
deliver on that particular game. So again, really good win
that they need after they split with the Celtics. Getting
this win yesterday one fifteen to one twelve. Congratulations to the
(02:46):
magic of being the Trailblazer, said a couple other games
around the league, the Pistons beat the Wizards one thirty
seven to one thirty five. Lakers continue on a tear.
They beat the Hornets one twenty one to one eleven
this ridiculous game. The he beat the Cavaliers one forty
to one, thirty eight, uh Spurs beat the Bulls one
twenty one one seventeen Bucks, Mavericks one sixteen to one, fourteen,
(03:10):
Timberwolves beat the Jazz one twenty to one. Thirteen Sons
beat the Pelicans one to ninety eight, and then the
Hawks beat the Clippers one O five to one O two.
The Magic will play again on the road in Master
Square Garden tomorrow against the New York Knicks.
Speaker 6 (03:30):
Now, if you were pile.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Watching Monday night football, another tough, ugly game. We had
the Philadelphia Eagles go into Lambeau and play the Green
Bay Packers to a final of ten to seven, ten
to seven, but the Philadelphia Eagles get the victory. Packers
fall to five, three and one. The Philadelphia Eagles are
now seven and two.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Can I just say something, imagine how cold Green Bay
was last night?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah, as as it is here, that's all we.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Just imagine. They call me to John Lennon the weather. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Now, we got a couple of Shakespeare I want to
bring up to you, rust and just peripheral sports stories
kind of story sport adjacent. Are you familiar with Dancing
with the Stars host Julianna huff puff Yeah, she's beautiful, Okay,
but she seems like she'd be a lot it's neither
here nor there, right and seacrast.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
I don't know the lady per se.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
But she's actually starred in that movie that Angelique was in.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
She was the star of the Rock of Ages.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
Okay, she's got their name puff.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
She does all those all those commercials for rooms to
go all right, so, uh, I guess what else you
need to know?
Speaker 2 (04:52):
So she s up something I know about? You want
to go to the right guy? There you go.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
So she's caught up into some controversy.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
She's been controversy before. She's the one that did blackface.
Uh and for Halloween to be like crazy Eyes from
Orange is the new blass.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
So this is so she's so what you're saying is
that she's used to controversy. She's controversy could be her
middle name, one would say, could be a lot.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
Does she ever.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Of all the things that would be considered controversial? Again,
I don't know. I'm not married. You guys, are you
two are married? I'm asking this question to the married
people and the and wives in general, right, because so
there was a photograph that went out and it's her, Juliana,
(05:41):
lying across the lapse of a bunch of Dodger players,
right and basically her it's a fun thing for her
and she's like, put me in coach and this has
to do with dancing with the stars. And apparently the
texting and the social media world uh completely exploded to
run if you got that image so you could share
(06:02):
now she just there, that's.
Speaker 6 (06:04):
Just her lyne across them.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Right right now?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
What what what do you see when you're looking at that?
What do you feel that could potentially be controversial?
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Well, if the guy in the white is married, maybe
his wife would be a little Okay.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
So they're all married, Yeah, all of them are married.
And the internet is turned on her and calling that
this is just blasphemous behavior by that slut.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
That's that's that's one of the posts.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
I'll say, the fact that she's doing it in blackface
makes it really good.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
She's not, but I mean, you know some of the
posters are are like this very very inappropriate. You must
apologize to these men. Just because you're not married doesn't
mean you can be inappropriate with married men. This is embarrassing.
This is these are all on her on her page.
This is not a good look, crazy thing to do
with a group of married men. This is totally inappropriate. Now,
(06:58):
you guys kind of said that not that big a deal.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Okay, So if I was one of those guys and
Julianne Huff laid across my lap with Mary, only get mad.
No she wouldn't. But I mean, I'd had other wives
that would have killed me for it. So it depends
on your wife. You know how jealous your wife can get,
Like I had one.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
So I mean, but does say, let's remove that you're
a married man. Is that cool behavior?
Speaker 1 (07:22):
You're on TV and she's a celebrity and you're waving for.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
It's not a big deal cheating on your wife and.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Your wife and she's not If you're doing like a
radio promo shot and you're a whole you're just holding
one of the cast members, is that inappropriate?
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Is not inappropriate you're doing You're doing a promo shot?
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Huh? I would say, Okay.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
The only guy who would be in trouble would be
the guys, third one on the right that's holding the
dress down at the same time.
Speaker 5 (07:46):
Yeah, because he knows he saw her butt.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
See the promo shot thing we were doing for a
promo shot, and it was allan, why.
Speaker 6 (07:53):
You're explaining that we're talking about Juliana?
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Either either or are fine? It's not a big deal.
It's you know, I would you know this week? Uh,
the Dancing with the Stars. How old do you think
it is? This week Dancing with the Stars?
Speaker 2 (08:07):
How long is it?
Speaker 4 (08:07):
How long has it been around? I'm saying twenty.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Years and bingo, lollipop, there you go. I'm I'm here
with twenty years today.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
All right, then we'll wrap up my we'll we'll if
we can sidebar that, we'll wrap up Monster Sports with this.
A couple of topics that we love talking about the
Dolphins are head coach and a I.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Okay, it's okay, this is ridiculous. Do you have time?
Speaker 6 (08:31):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Listen?
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Can we where you want to reset it? I want
to reset that. I got another Dolphins got.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
To tell you about.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yeah, you got to pull up that. It's important. The
footage of look for Mike mc McDaniel. Coach McDaniel mcdell
driving around. Yeah, elbow room, then that.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
And we would talk about that. I want to talk
about Gronk. I also want to talk about there. I'll
tell you and then and then the McDaniel thing. I
want to talk about that. So we'll do some more
Monster sports when we come back.
Speaker 6 (08:57):
This is all sports a Jason, it is.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah. Yeah, don't go anywhere. You're listening to the Max
of the Morning.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Welcome out to the machers in the morning. We're a
radio one four point one. If you want to leave
us a message, you can right now. If you listen
on the iHeartRadio app, you'll see a microphone. Click on
the microphone, leave us a message and we'll play those
a little bit later on the show. Jeff he here
with us today. Jeff, where are you going to be?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Actually, let me run this down real quick. Today Casey
Howe will be at Cherry Pocket in Lake Whales from
four to eight Friday. The Jeff Howell Trio would be
at the Big Belly Barbecue Bash and Davenport at the
Tom Fellers Community Center. That's a charity event. Sunday, Casey
how will be a Tippy's New Orleans' Kitchen and Winnter
Park from eleven to two and Sunday, Jeff Howe will
be doing acoustic sets at the Lucky Lord downtown right
(09:47):
after Joseph Martin's Sunday morning coming down. Oh, we'll be
doing a live event here that'll be one thirty the
Lucky Lord on Sunday. And today I'm at the American
Legion Post fifty five in Clearmind signing for the American Veterans.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
You're working a lot, Yeah, still considered.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
It's still going over a monster sports on somewhere Sports Stories.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
We're going to go through Angel What else you got?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Uh? This one is fascinating to me in the sense
of all the drama that's going on or off the field.
Speaker 6 (10:13):
In regards to the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yea, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
There's a postgame interview and they're asking coach McDaniel, hey man,
we saw you cruising around this area of town. Happens
to also have the elbow Room and there and you're
hanging out. It looks like you it was a Bills bar.
They said, the elbow room is a Bills had become
a Bills bar for this game. That's true, That's one
hundred percent true. I'd been watching that so after their victory,
(10:41):
apparently coach because he lives in that area quote unquote,
The allegation is that he got in his three hundred
thousand dollars Mercedes hanging out the window with his one
hundred and fifty thousand dollars goal wise right right, and
it's like fifteen hundred dollars sunglasses and was purposely the
elbow room hanging out the window of this car. Tried
(11:06):
to see what Bill Bills fans had anything to say.
Now when he was asked about it.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
On Monday, Yeah, at a press conference.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
You know, basically they every Monday they do like a
recap of the weekend, like post morning, and somebody asked him.
Speaker 6 (11:19):
It's like, hey, coach, was that you is?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
This? Is this the audio? This?
Speaker 1 (11:24):
This is what he says, they ask him and you
And there's a photo of this Mercedes and you see
what looks like the coach driving by the elbow room
like smiling at the smiling at some Bills fans. Here's
what he says, the good old days, you know.
Speaker 7 (11:39):
The throwbacks of your where you could trust you know,
the the internet and the images because you know that
is pretty detail.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
That you know, I do live in that area.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
But I mean the right.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
That doesn't answer the question.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
Was that true. I mean, I live in that area.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
AI is real. That's what I got for him. I
live in that area. AI is real. That's all I got.
That's that's obviously him. Why so he's just joking with people, right,
he's just goofing.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
I think it's the ultimate troll job, especially you know,
pulling off that victory like that. Yeah, I'm sure he's
feeling a little bit confident now that he's not like
the very minimum. He's they're gonna feel fulfill the season
with him. They're not going to fire him.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Yeah, they said that he's gonna be the coach no
matter what.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
They got rid of the general manager.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
So I so maybe he's, you know, feeling himself a
little bit, feeling the victory a little bit.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
It is quite funny because it's funny.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Maybe maybe they didn't say they were going to keep
him for the season, you know, because they got Ai.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Well, he says, he says, I live in the area,
the guy. That's all I got for you.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Obviously. That was him driving by the Elbow room, just
like that.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Just funny, just to watch them.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Yeah, I gotta you gotta kind of tip the cap
to him that again, you guys know me, I appreciate
that level of petty yea, yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like, again,
of an NFL coach, of all the things that he
has to worry about, all the things that he's got
to take care of, he's gonna still make enough time
on his way home to cruise by and buzz the
elbow room to get at the Bills fans.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
And I know some of the players commented and like
even Tarik Hill was like, way to go, coaches, He's
goofing on the gooping on the Bill fans.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
That's funny.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Who was He's the coach of what team? The Miami
Dollsmy Dolphins A jacket?
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Two men, I'm gonna give it to these guys.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Two men were arrested at the Miami Dolphins game for
selling fake tickets outside the stadium. And it's like they're
giving tickets away, man, Like, like the fact you were
able to sell two tickets YouTube deserve an award or
a job.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yeah, or a job.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
But yeah, this guy where they were arrested, they sold
these digital tickets in section two forty five, but Section
two forty.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Five does not exist. Oh wow, so they so and
I thought we had talked about. Maryelle was like, listen,
you want to go down the game. We go down
the game and we just buy tickets, you know, outside
the stadium. I'm like, yeah, from when I heard they're
giving them away, but that these guys were caught selling
fake tickets. Man, just my look, another news.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
And I want to see what you thought about this, Ryan,
is that Gronkowski Gronks they were going to make They're
going to make him a Patriot again for one day
so he can retire as a Patriot.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Okay, yeah, so this is this is.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Why I always said though, that that when when Gronkowski
and when Brady played for Tampa, they weren't really paying.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
For Tampa Patriots.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
It was there still were Patriots. They were just going
down and playing.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
For Tampa from Belichium.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
Because while Mike McDaniels was driving that bar trolling Bills fans,
Belichick was actually trolling local high schools looking for a
new lady.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Hey, he's that in New New Act. Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
So, but what that's not uncommon though, in the sense
of it when you're a majority of ninety five percent
of your career is with one team. What he's doing
is not unheard of.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
That's done.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
That's a common practice across the board, whether it's NBA,
Major League Baseball, or NFL or hockey.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
So I'm curious if you're a Buccaneers fan, though, does
that bother you?
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Do you consider it a slap in the face? Is it?
Speaker 1 (15:31):
I mean because the last teams he last team he
played for was the Buccaneers, and they won two. They
won two Super Bowls with them, right, it was two
Super Bowls with the tamp Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
I know he won one.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
I know he was on one of those teams.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Yeah yeah, I think it was only one.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I thought, okay, that was two either way, so so yeah,
but he won one, yeah yeah, yeah, but he won
one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 7 (15:52):
So can they retire so he can't returned three? Or
I've seen me four all together?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Right?
Speaker 1 (15:57):
I thought it was two with the Bucks and two
with the Patriot, But I could be wrong.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
I knew nothing about sports.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
First angels been telling you for but I never.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Said I did. But I'm just I don't know. For
some reason, I'm like, man, if I was a Bucks fan,
I'd be pissed off that you.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Don't have the like the history with him, though, you
get what I'm saying. Right, Let's say his career is
fifteen years right, right, and year thirteen and fifteen he
played with Tampa Bay. Twelve years he's with the other team.
That's why. That's why they're gonna retire his number. There,
there's why they're gonna he'll go into the Hall of
Fame as a Patriot.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Hey, why do they have to hire him for one
day so he can do this?
Speaker 6 (16:34):
Why just for the books and then for the Hall
of Fame?
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh yeah, and he won one Super Bowl with the
Tampa Bay.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
Yeah, they went twice, but they didn't win the second tent.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Oh I see, Okay, that's what it was. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
So anyway, so are you good with that him going
back and getting hired for one day and getting his
uh and being retired as a as a Patriot.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
Let me rephrase myself. They almost went twice. It was
the Vision Game they lost.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
Yeah, of course.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (16:59):
He played most his career at the Patriots and that's
where he was the most useful. So yeah, like, I
don't hate when Tom Brady goes back. Tom Brady is
New England Patriots. Gronk is New England Patriots.
Speaker 5 (17:10):
He's got Yes, sure they went to Tampa, but everybody cheats,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 6 (17:14):
Like Shequillo, has he done the Hall of Fame yet?
Speaker 5 (17:19):
He we've retired his jersey.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
We were timatic. But has he gone into the NBA
Hall of Fame? Because here's a perfect.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
EXI does that he will do it as a Laker
or would he do it as a Heat? No?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
You you well, when you think of Shaquille O'Neill, what
do you think of first he was in sixteen?
Speaker 2 (17:35):
I think of Lakers because it's where he won his championships.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
He went in twenty sixteen.
Speaker 6 (17:39):
He did go in twenty sixteen, already did it? Does
it tell you what he went in.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
As he went in as a player right now?
Speaker 6 (17:45):
But like what team?
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Oh not to Orlando Magic.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
It doesn't say.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
It doesn't say how many championships did he win with
the Miami Heat.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
I think he's, uh, he's got the one there, just
won there and then several with the Lake. The majority
of his championships are with the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Yeah, so I think of him as a Laker, even
though I loved him when he played, you know, that's
when I had my tickets, and I loved him when
he played for the Magic.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
I don't. I don't think of him as an Orlando
Magic player when you see it, do you? How do
you think of him?
Speaker 6 (18:14):
I think of him way longer the Lakers. Yeah, I
think of him as a Laker.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (18:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
He played four seasons with the Magic and eight seasons
as a Laker and three in Miami. Okay, I think
of him really as a Phoenix Sun nobody remembers. I
think of that one year, pivotal year, two thousand and
one year he was in Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Hey, Also, is this accurate that it looks like we're
definitely going to have the Jacksonville Jags playing at CAMPI
wolds down.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
It is absolutely correct. They broke that news on Friday.
All we're waiting for is the final and it looks
like it's going to happen. But all they're waiting for
is like a ceremonial vault between the ownership to agree
to this. But all indications are that the twenty twenty
seven season Jacksonville Jaguars where we played here at Camping World.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Which is wow, very cool, very nice. That's good. Uh,
I just found out, Yes, I just I just found out.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
I didn't really take time to look through all the
games and all that stuff, but I did see that
that Miami plays the Buccaneers this year, but it's gonna
be on a day where I'm already out of town,
so I won't be able to go. But and then
also Miami is going to be play your team coming
up here in a couple of weeks, Angel there would
be playing the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah, we have we already got money on this one.
We do what we bet we did this like at
the beginning of the year.
Speaker 5 (19:36):
Oh yeah, that really good one.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Okay, I'm not I'm not feeling too bad about it
after last week because because let's be honest, Uh, you know,
the Steelers s the bed with old man Rogers this week,
and then uh and then little little little to us.
You know, he got all powered up and did pretty good.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
So Troll is on a roll.
Speaker 6 (20:01):
So well, you want to go double or nothing.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
I don't want to go double another but.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
You now re mentioned the one hundred dollars, and I'm
good with one hundred dollars.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
All right, got it? Printed couldn't wait?
Speaker 2 (20:16):
What are the Steelers? Where the Steelers? What's the record?
We didn't bet? Oh, we didn't know.
Speaker 6 (20:19):
I don't bet on my team.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Oh that's right. Ah, you're trying to fool me.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
You bet me it's a one hundred dolls bet.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
I bet you. I did not bet you that.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
We'd only do that the Angel because because it's his team,
it's more fun to do it.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
I was gonna say, when do the when do the
Dolphins play the Patriots? But I ain't doing that. The
Patriot's on fire.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
Now, Yeah, number one, number one in the league right now.
And I told you I never doubted them for one second.
I'm on record saying that. Yeah, we've played the Patriots.
Pay the Dolphins January fourth. Serious, its the last game
of the regular season.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
There's been two games where they look halfway decent. H
This is also not.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Really damn you got the early game this week, Russ,
When you got the nine thirty game on Sunday, you're
playing the Commodorees.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Oh and it's in it's in like England or something. No,
it is in Germany.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
You guys are playing in Spain.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
In Spain. Is this the first another? I think it
is the first, So they're probably gonna sell that out.
That'll be sold out, right, It's.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
An eighty three thousand person stadium.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
The one they played in Germany was sold out like
way ahead of time, and that was seventy four thousand.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
This will be sold out.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
But they're gonna have a bull running around during the
whole game.
Speaker 5 (21:42):
Tapas.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
This is sort of sports for late.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
But Sidney Sweeney has now they finally got her, you know,
in front of you know, some some interviewers and asking
her if she's disappointed about the movie Christie getting such
poor reviews and not selling very well. One of the
lois in two thousand theaters. They're saying it's one of
the worst movies. It's biggest bombs ever, which is sack,
(22:08):
because we love Christy Martin.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
She's so sweet. I love it.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
It's not her fault, you know. And they're trying to
figure out why it did so poorly, and and you know,
Sinney Sweeney is like, you know, we did everything we
could to promote it, so she feels they did.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
She says she's.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Still deeply proud of the movie, and she hopes it
helps raise awareness that affects domestic violence, and she said that,
you know, so she says, we don't always make movies
for the numbers. We make it for the impact. And
Christy has been the most impactful project of my life.
Thank you, Christy Martin, and I love you. And she's
like kind of apologizing to Christy Martin once again.
Speaker 2 (22:43):
You guys, you on the movie.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
I think you and Ryan kind of nailed this on
the head. After the fact, they just listening to some
people talk and listen to other things. I think because
of the subject matter, and you know, Savannah kind of.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
Shared that as much.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
And when you talk to your wife about it, she's like,
I don't want to see that because if it's going
to be triggering like that. Yeah, Ryan, I think you
nailed it on the head yesterday when you said if
this movie was streaming or when this movie gets to streaming, yeah,
I bet you it has a better result because I
think because of the subject matter, and I mean, it's
an intense movie. There's no way around it is intense,
(23:16):
visually intense. That people feel more comfortable seeing a movie
like that right at home than seeing it in the
movie theater.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Well, they were talking about this on TMZ this morning
early this morning when I was watching it, and they
and they were asking the same question, why did this
not do well? I Tanya did very very well, and
you know, why would this not And it's because really
no offense to her. But Christy Martin is not a
household name like Tanya.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
What you know that was the Olympics.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Yeah, and that was more salacious.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Yeah yeah, uh so you know, maybe it's because Christy
Martin is not that big of a name where people
don't know her story. I think, like I said, the
people I asked about the one to go see it,
it was like, I don't want to see a movie
about domestic violence. That's it's triggering. So many women have
been you knowstically abused, domestically abused that I don't want
to see that because it's triggering. So that might be
(24:09):
part of it.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
Yes, Jeff, what what's the common denominator in every movie
that Sidney Sweeney did that did great?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
She's yeah, yeah, yeah, she looks and this one so.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
Did she do her nitties in this one? Well?
Speaker 1 (24:21):
There there, there she is and uh she she looks
like Christy Martin.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Yeah yeah, yeah, So that's not with the blood on
her face, that's not really a good look.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yeah yeah, just gross me out.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Yeah, but if the Hunnies come out, I can work
around it.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Well, I guess that Sydney Sweeney's had like three bombs
in a row.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
Right, Yeah, she's uh having a good run right now.
She needs uh, she needs a win, she needs a
rom com.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Well, she was hoping this was going to be her ticket.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
To critical Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yeah, And I got to.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Tell you though, uh yeah, when it comes to serious
stuff like that, I don't like one in the horror
movies as much anymore. But like I almost clicked on
watching that Rock movie again. Yes, I'm like, I don't
really want to see him being serious, like when I
see The Rock, I want him to be sort of funny.
I want to be the Rock. So I still haven't
even have you wanted to see that movie yet? What's
(25:16):
it called The Smashing Machine?
Speaker 6 (25:17):
Smash Machine? No, I haven't.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah, Well, why don't you want to see it?
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Because I don't know enough about the character that he's playing.
I'm not a big UFC.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Guy, so that might be the white people feel about
Christie right enough about her, I don't really care.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
And look, from all indications, he knocks it out the
park with the performance and all that kind of stuff.
And if eventually, like for example, if that when that
comes to streaming, I will go and check that out streaming.
That's not that's not a movie theater. Even let's say
the streaming services weren't out there. That's not necessarily one
that I would go to the movie theater.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Running to everything you're saying about that movie is what
people are saying about the Christy movie. It's really the
same thing. You know.
Speaker 7 (25:56):
I'm looking at some of the one star reviews for
Christy on Google and they seemed to just be personal
attacks on Sidney Sweeney for the most part. Oh really,
so you can this very funny one to me, which is,
did not enjoy seeing a white woman in black hairstyles.
Regardless of what you try to take over, white women
cannot have corn roads.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Okay, that's a that's like, that's a real moment that
really happened.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
I know, yeah she did.
Speaker 7 (26:22):
All the other ones are just kind of personal attacks
on Sidney Sweeney. But whether it's people don't like her
because she's a maga person or they just thinks he's
subpar actress in general.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
I think that's kind of unfair.
Speaker 7 (26:33):
I again, I enjoyed the movie, but I'm biased because
the lady it's about was there.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
But you're pretty picky about movies. So did you think
she was a poor actress?
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Frankenstein tell you that, Oh, that's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Frank's was a great movie.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
Christy was a better movie than Frankenstein.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Okay, Well, I haven't seen Christy, so I can't say.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
I will say that, ye are you gonna watch it
this weekend?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
If it's I'm not gonna go to the movie theater. No, Now,
I won't mind say yeh see.
Speaker 7 (26:56):
If that's okay, you know the lady it's about, and
you're not gonna go, don't see the movie.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
It's got to be something really special for me to
go with the theater and spend about seventy bucks.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
Yeah, you know, to go you.
Speaker 5 (27:08):
I feel like you need to see this movie.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
I want to see it when it comes out on
Netflix or Hulu or whatever other platforms I have.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
So when Christy Martin comes in here again, which she will,
you're gonna be like, I don't even go see your movie.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
I don't see it when it comes out on whatever
it's gonna come, I'll pay for it on Amazon. I'll
pay the twenty bucks on Amazon to watch it at
my house. I'm not driving down the movie theater. It
needs the money, don't need the money. It needs the
money on.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
I made six hundred thousand dollars and.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
Then they'll get twenty dollars for me on Amazon when
I can lay my fat ass on the couch and
watch Christy get beat up and hurt and like, I
don't I don't want to see that.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
I don't want see her get stabbed and shot. She's
a sweet lady.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
Did you get shot too?
Speaker 7 (27:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (27:48):
He shot her and stabbed her. You remember that sleezball
that came in here with her all the time.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
You know, I don't know if I was here when you.
Oh yeah, I don't know, because the show song about it. Yeah,
so oh, Bubba.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Wrote a song, which means you probably wrote a song.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
Yeah, I might have, might have. I don't remember that one.
Yes show and he and he called her a dyke
and all kind of that was her husband, while she
huh her husband, Oh you mean Bubba did Bubba did
it a song?
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (28:18):
Good? It was brave. Bubba is Bray, I think you
wrote those lyrics. If it was funny, it was probably Ye.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
That's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
All right, Well take a little break more big dumb
fun when we come back.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
You're listening to the March of the Morning. All right,
rock about.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
Therns this morning every radio one oh four, fine one.
Thank you Evil I for sending the song. I appreciate it, buddy,
nothing but class. Oh man, uh welcome back.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
I'm the Lung with Angel and Ryan and Jeff Hall
all here today.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
So yesterday I did do the It's the four oh
seven on Fox thirty five. They have me do that
every Monday and Thursday. Uh So I go back to
my back room and do the television show. And here's
the topics that we talked about. I want to get
your guys take on it and see what you thought.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Uh one. It was one of the stories that we.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Talked about was uh okay, there's a uh I forget
which bank.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
I think TD Bank now has it?
Speaker 1 (29:08):
And Ryan, this would interest you TD Bank has when
you go into to get people to go into the bank,
more than people have gotten away from going into the bank.
They want people to go into the banks. What they've
done is right by your atm. They have an atm
for dogs. So basically if you hit a hit your
coat or whatever, it'll give your dog a treat. Just
(29:29):
to get people to bring the you know, to to
you know, use their bank because their dog friendly. Would
that make you that's the question, Would that make you
want to use the bank because it's dog friendly?
Speaker 5 (29:40):
No?
Speaker 7 (29:41):
No, I have been trained not to use the bank,
not to go in at all. So no, there's nothing
that this is. This is your not even going into
the branch.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
No, no, no, they want you to.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
It's inside and that's what their their idea is or
try to get people to come in like they used to. Ye,
so way to get them come in like they used to,
they want you to bring your dog too, and you
get a little dog treat because remember the days when
you do you guys, I don't know, you might not,
I know, Jeff hal will, But do you remember the
days when you used to know the bank teller?
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (30:10):
Yeah, I mean I know we do. But like Angel,
do you remember knowing the bank teller? Well, I thought
you were in banking too, but that was me in banking.
But that wasn't me banking.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
You didn't know that. How about you, Ryan? You don't
remember days when you knew the bank teller, do you. Well?
Speaker 7 (30:23):
My wife when we first were together, she was a
bank teller at a Chase and she worked behind them.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
But I know what you're saying, Russ, in the sense
of like, well, you never did this right when the
since you walked into the branch this is the branch
where you opened your personal account, you had your business account,
you would know the part that now you would know
the branch manager by name.
Speaker 5 (30:42):
I know them now.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
The fair Winds went apart the most helpful people on
a Saturday. I'll never stop using fair Winds just because
those people are so nice and like so helpful, and
then every now and then they'll like sign me up
for something that's a really good deal.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
Uh So, yeah, I still go in on the bank.
Speaker 7 (30:56):
But when I go to Chase, Chase got rid of
all their tailor windows and placed it with ATM. You
can't talk to anybody some of them, and that's super annoying.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
So this particular bank they decided, Hey, we're going to
try to go the other way and get people to
come back in like it used to be.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
I used to go in all the time, because I
when I had my party rental company, I'd make a
deposit every day. I didn't want money sitting around the house,
sitting around the store that my employees were stealing. So
I need to get it in the bank as soon
as I good, you know, media immediately.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Yeah, I think a good thing. Since Florida is such
a red state that probably a shooting range would be
good to.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Get people into the bank. So do you go into
your bank anymore? You don't know, But you know what,
he took me for.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Years to do banking on my phone because I was
so paranoid. Yeah, if somebody got my phone somehow or
know that, they could get into my bank, right, But
then I lost all my money at a bar, and
I don't care anymore.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Okay, So that was one of the things we told.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
You guys consider in regards of the bank. Would you
consider going to a bank or having a bank that
doesn't have any brick and mortar branches.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
I never go into my bank ever. I do it
all online, right, So I mean, so luckly it wouldn't
bother me.
Speaker 7 (32:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
I had one of those. For a minute, I thought
it would be cool.
Speaker 7 (32:10):
It ended up being very annoying and a lot of
waiting on customer service line.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (32:14):
I like fair Winds because I can go to fair Winds.
There's people there.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
You know what's funny, It's like it's fascinating because the
reason I'm not with fair Winds was because of a
horrible customer service situation.
Speaker 5 (32:24):
Oh really yeah?
Speaker 3 (32:25):
And I was like right again, yeah, And I was like,
I'm totally never going to use you guys again. And
I used to go to the one that was off
of Hanging Moss Road and then had a situation at
the one that's right here in winter Park and I
was like, yeah, I don't need you guys. And I
found I've had a much better experience since then.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Is it because you're a banking snub?
Speaker 7 (32:43):
I do this with restaurants, I'm asking I do this
in restaurants that I work in restaurants. When they start
to mess up, I'm like, I know what you're doing
wrong here, you should fix it.
Speaker 5 (32:51):
Do you have that same problem?
Speaker 3 (32:52):
No, because the bank that I have now is like
there's no brick and mortar, uh branches to it.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Everything.
Speaker 6 (32:58):
Everything I have.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
To do, I either if I if I need assistance
on a loan, or something I need to make a
call or it's all on my phone and I don't.
And I've been with this company since I left them
and it's all been a positive experience.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
So do you think this this gimmick that they're doing,
you know, having a doggy at M so it gives
the dogs a treat. Now, it used to be if
you drove through the if you drove through the teller, right,
they give you a lollipop if you were a kid,
and they would give you like a little dog treat if.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
You had a dog with you.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
But do you think this is going to uh have
more people sign up because they seem more personal, They
seem to.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Like they got to have something to back that up. Right,
So if you're doing that, I mean you have an
attractive rate on your savings account or or high or
have enough staffing there so that if you do get
a bump in uh customer rushing you, that they're you're
not making them wait and regret them coming into the lobby.
Because Ryan's right. For the last decade or so, banks
(33:54):
have been going out of their way to.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Make us feel like we're not you don't belong here.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Yeah, it's a keep us out of their lobbies to
you know, do everything at the ATM machine to do
all of that. So it's a neat like it's a
neat thing to get them.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Through the door.
Speaker 7 (34:08):
You.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
I hope you have the backup for it and have
like a cool product, a cool service.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Now you just get a milk bone. Get a milk bone.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
Shut up your getting le take your dog food.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Yeah, all right, we gotta take a break. We come back.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
I believe we might have to take the barbe and
if we do, we'll talk to her and if that,
I'll tell the other topics that we talked about. Once again,
it is Veterans Day. Thank you guys for your service.
Everyone that's brave enough to sign up. Thank god we
got you. All right, don't go anywhere. You're listening to
the monsters of the morning.
