It's KFI Am six and you're listeningto the Conway Show on demand on the
iHeartRadio app. They've got that firepretty well handled out there, and Antelope
Bakers, the La County fire isknocking that down. I think it's I
think it's also Ventura County fire outthere as well. I don't know,

(00:21):
maybe it's La County. No,it's La County and they're knocking it down
pretty good. So if you've gotrich relatives that live in Analope Bakers,
they're fine all that. There's noproperty damage at all. So all the
mansions have survived in Analoe Bakers. All the tennis courts, the clay courts

(00:46):
are fine, grass courts, swimmingpools, movie stars, yeah, all
that stuff, Thank goodness. Helicopterlanding pads, private jets, the whole
run Annealoe Bakers survived. So dingdog, Antelope papers. All right,
All right, Doctor sone is withus. He is a world renowned Board

(01:11):
certified orthopedic surgeon and doctor. Welcometo KFI. How are you, sir?
Great? Thanks for having me onthe show. That was a pretty
generous intro. Oh man, thanksfor coming on. I can't tell you
I know we've been introduced to youthrough Angel Martinez, and we thank her
for that. But I can't tellyou how many of my friends, and

(01:34):
how many of my co workers, and how many of my relatives we have
either numbness or pain in our handfrom holding cell phones and iPads. Am
I on the moon or or areyou seeing a tremendous increase in these patients?
Uh? Yeah, I mean wesee a lot of that stuff.
I mean, his phones just keepgetting bigger, don't they bigger and bigger.

(01:57):
But it's an awkward way to hold, you know. And in the
first forty five years of my life, I didn't hold anything but a newspaper,
And now I got to balance Igot to balance an iPad in the
morning, and it does get tome where I got to put it down.
Yeah, for sure, I thinkI see a lot of that.
We see a lot of numbness. We see a lot of people I think,
you know, tennis used to bethe big one, but now pickleball

(02:19):
seems to be the big offender.Now. A lot of people playing pickleball
having a lot of elbow pain andthings of that nature. Oh is that
right? In addition to that,Oh yeah, we see. I mean
it seems to be that every dayI meet three or four people who were
telling me that they're having this painin their elbow from swinging their pickleball rackets.
I mean, of course, Istill do have the occasional tennis player,
but I'll tell you that it's likethree or four to one pickleball these

(02:44):
days to tennis for golf. Wow. So that's wild. I've never played
pickleball, but as observing it,it looks like they're playing in slow motion.
I can't imagine you getting hurt doingthat. You know, it's interesting.
I hadn't played it until about threeweeks ago at our company picnic,
and it's it's actually it's fun.It's actually really fun. It's kind of

(03:04):
like a combination between ping pong andtennis, and actually you do move around
a fair amount. I can seehow people do get hurt. Especially,
so it's not like, Okay, you're in great staper. I'm sorry they
told you you were on the air, right, yeah, okay, and
you're admitting to playing pickleball. Okay, yes, I do play pickleball.

(03:27):
Whatever, man, you got togo home to these people, not me.
But that's that's wild. Man.So it used to be tennis and
golf. Tennis is no longer.I don't know what happened to tennis.
Everyone played tennis in the seventies andeighties and it sort of went away.
I think, you know, nobodyhad any room on their property to build
tennis courts anymore. There were alot of private tennis courts and still are

(03:50):
in Beverly Hills. But you reallyhave to be a multi multi millionaire to
own a tennis court. Yeah, sure, I mean I had an uncle
in Florida. He was a multimillionaire. Apparently he had a tennis court,
tennis Paul Launcher and everything. Butyeah, it's not very common you'd
see that these days. Yeah, and a lot of you, I'm sorry,
doctor, what causes tennis elbo?I know Angel suffers from that,

(04:10):
and a lot of our listeners sufferfrom you know, pickleball? What is
is it? Just repetitive motion?Yeah. So if there's anything I could
impress on your listeners, it's thatyou know this this that tennis elbow is
not due to inflammation. I mean, it's really important to understand that it's
not inflammation, it's actually due torepetitive damage, and that accumulates. So

(04:31):
like a lot of parts of ourbody, we accumulate damage. Like you
get damage to your skin, youget to damage to your ligaments and everything,
and your body heals it. Butas we get older, there's like
a lack of blood circulation to certainparts of our body, like tennis elbow
is as example of it. Yeah, many areas in the body affected by
that problem. But as a result, the damage accumulates faster than it can

(04:55):
be cleared by your body. Soit's actually not inflammation, it's actually just
a lack of it's a lack ofpel non inflammatory damage, the accumulus in
your tendons. So you know,I have a lot of buddies that are
in their fifties, you know, late fifties, and they played basketball every
Sunday, and every single one ofthem has had a major, major medical

(05:17):
emergency because of it. One ofthe reasons I don't play. And I
can't talk him out of it.They enjoy it so much that they're willing
to risk you know, pulling attendantor an acl or whatever it is.
But I remember a buddy of mine, he came down, he went up
for a layup, came down andstepped on somebody's foot, and he screamed
like he was like a child whojust got his hand blown off by a

(05:41):
firework. He was screaming and screaming. And another buddy of mine who's smoking
a cigarette went up and stood overand goes, death isn't going to come
easy to this one. Yeah, sure, sounds like a sounds like a
pretty bad injury, though, youdo. But why do people play?
Why do people continue to do thatknowing that they are going to break something

(06:04):
or pull something and be in bedfor six months. Yeah, sure,
it's a common problem. I mean, look, I don't want to tell
people not to be active. It'sgreat for your heart, it's great for
just sociability. I mean, especiallywith pickleball, it's very social. I
mean there are some people who arelike the pickleball mayors. But it is
definitely good. But it comes ata price, and so some people they

(06:27):
suffer. They'll play through the pain, and like your friend, they'll be
playing and they'll get injured, anda lot of people will just they'll suck
it up. They'll keep playing despitethe injury. But like tennis elbow,
like we were discussing, it's youknow, since it's not inflammation, Well,
what is it and what do wedo? I think the wrong treatment
for this is to give people antiinflammatories. A lot of people think this
is inflammation, and even well meaningdoctors will give people like anti inflammatory pills

(06:51):
or the courtizone shots. And ifyou get enough of these. I mean
I literally had a patient who hadhad thirty two injections elbows. Likes both
elbows, but you know, overthe course of a couple of years,
thirty two courterzone shots. I mean, inflammation is actually not all bad.
It's actually the first stage of healing. So when you have an injury like
this, you need some inflammation andthat's the actual first stage of healing.

(07:13):
So generally that's you know, ifI can impress on your listeners one thing,
it's you know, definitely avoid theanti inflammatories. If you have pain
in your elbow, like tennis elbow, it's usually pain on the outside of
your elbow. Think of like atennis backhand. That's why they named it
is like if you're right handed andyou're doing a backhand, you'll have pain
in the outside of your right elbowand that that kind of pain. Generally,
you know, be cautious about takinganti inflammators and definitely, you know,

(07:34):
be cautious if your doctor recommends acourtterzone shot, he may not actually
know that that's not good for yourelbow to potentially heal. You know,
I heard this and you can maybecorrect me if I'm wrong, But Tommy
John surgery for baseball players is namedafter a very successful pitcher. Is that
same surgery for pickleball players? Isthat? Is that called the Richard Simmons

(07:58):
surgery? Is that true? MaybeI'll have to look that up. You
know, all right, doctor Sean, I really thank you for coming on
to give us one tip of whatyou can do holding an iPad or an
iPhone. If you have pain inyour hand, what can you do other
than stop using it? Yeah,I just if I was going to give
you one tip, I would sayto prop it up on something. They

(08:20):
have a lot of these little iPadholders and distant things, or if you
get one of those little button thingsthat you can put on the back of
your phone. I don't personally haveone. I just try not to look
at my phone as much. Butyeah, that's probably the best thing you
can do, is just avoid thepressure points. Holding it in your hand
is probably the worst thing you do, especially the corner of that iPad right
in the middle of your bomb. That's me. I would definitely avoid that.

(08:41):
That's me. I have a tremendouspain in my left thumb because it
sticks right in the corner there. You've nailed it, doctor, I really
appreciate you coming on and people getto hold you on. I guess website,
what's what's how people get to Peopleare have you know inflammation or tennis
elbow or pickle elbow? Oh,whatever it is, what's your Yeah,

(09:03):
our website is SO and orthos andmy last name s o h n O
or t h O so on orthodot com slash elbow and you learn a
lot about our tennis elbow treatments thatwe offer. Perfect. Thanks for coming
on. Really appreciate it, andthanks for the tip. Thank you so
much. I appreciate the time.Thank you. Doctors show so I get
right, son dtor So right.Yeah, that guy's great, man,

(09:26):
I have it. I'm sitting hereright now in tremendous pain because of the
iPad and so, I guess he'sright. I got to either put it
down or get something to put iton. That's the only way to get
around this because I am every singlemorning I pick up the iPad, I
open it up and I look atit, and ten minutes later that is
on fire where I'm screaming like achild in bed. It's unbelievable. You're

(09:54):
listening to Tim Conway Junior on demandfrom KF I am six forty. The
NBA draft is on. Hey,that kid go first? What's his name?
Alex Saar? Did he go first? No? He went second?
Uh? Yes, he went second? Wow? Who went for Zachary Resache

(10:15):
was the number one pick? Isthat right? Are those both European players
who went first? French? French? Wow? So French guy, French
kid went first, and then anotherEuropean kid went second. Wow? Man,
oh man, it's a tall guy, because that's an advantage in basketball.
The kid's tall at Alex Sar,he's like six foot eight, six

(10:37):
' nine six nine. Yeah?Is that right? Actually? Uh?
Rees, cheer is six' nineOkay, sure bumped? Sorry, the
same Steven A Smith. You know, Steven A Smith is in for a
huge, huge boatload of money. All right, They're going to back up
a brains truck and give it toSteven A. Smith. They're going to

(10:58):
keep him on the network and payhim a lot. Alex Sar is seven
He's seven feet tall. Wow,play center? You think, Steffus,
you think Alex Sar is a centeror a point guard? Is he a
point guard? A seven foot pointguard? I thought he was a front
guard. Yeah, well there's Ithought he was a right guard. Sticking

(11:20):
with front front guard. Maybe heuse his right guard. Is that possible.
I don't know, Steph, andI don't know much of that about
the game, but dinged along withyou. Matthew Perry is in the news.
That's not good. The investigation somepeople might be arrested for supplying him

(11:41):
with the drugs that eventually led tohis death. Developments now and the investigation
into who's supplied the ketamine that ledto actor Matthew Perry's death. ABC News
has learned the investigation is drawing toa close. That's according to senior sources
within the LAPDH. They say it'llbe after the US Attorney to decide if
anyone is charged or whether the casecould be referred back to state prosecutors.

(12:01):
Investigation has been ongoing since Perry's deathin October and includes the LAPD, the
DA the US Postal Service, andthe US Attorney. Wow. This man
a lot of people involved in thisinvestigation. Huh, and includes the LAPD,
LAPD, daus EA DA, USPostal Service, and the US Attorney.

(12:22):
Wow. Man, oh man,I'm sort of maybe on the moon
here, but I'm kind of anabsolutist, where if you died doing drugs
or drinking, I think it's onyou, I really do. I think
if those people didn't supply him withthe drugs, somebody else would have.

(12:46):
And I don't know, maybe Idon't know much about the case. But
if somebody dies of a heart attackbecause they've eaten too much, do we
arrest the guy that sold him Hamburgersfor twenty years? No, Now,
we don't do that. But ifa guy has a couple of drinks at
a bar and then plows into theto a house and kills somebody, do

(13:09):
we sue the guy at the bar? Not normally, Not normally, you
know, if he's not completely bombedand they're not overserving him. But man,
when it comes to these illegal drugs, they really go after, you
know, some of these guys andtry to make an example out of them.
But I'm just of the belief thatyou've got a big part of that,

(13:33):
A big part of it is you. You know you, and I
know a lot of people are onthe opposite side, all right, okay,
but on personal responsibility, you knowwhat, Like you, when you
go to rob a bank and usea gun you have in the back of
your mind, you might get shotto death, and that's on you.

(13:54):
That's not on the guy shooting youto death. They very arrest they very
rarely arrest the guy a bank guardwho shoots you to death when you walk
into a bank with a gun becauseyou knew the consequences of robbing a bank
that you could go home in abag or you know, be sent to
the morgue. That's part of thegame. You know, He's in that

(14:16):
game, and part of that.Part of that, the outcome of that
game is that you could die.And and and I think, you know,
a lot of it's got to beon him. I'm sorry. I
know. He's a great actor,a very funny guy, and a lot
of people enjoyed friends. I enjoyedit, My wife loved it, my
daughter loves it. Great great show. Looking back on it, I think

(14:41):
my wife and I watch at leastin one episode. Every night it's on
late at night when we go tobed, and it's hysterical. It's one
of the funniest shows ever. Andand it's probably very sad for the cast
and the crew to watch that showknowing that Matthew Perry's not around anymore.
It's got to be really tough towatch it. But it's even tough for

(15:03):
my wife to watch it, youknow, knowing that Matthew Perry is not
around anymore, because it's distracting, you know, when when he says something
funny, you're like, oh,that's great. Oh he's dead, and
it's distracting. But I don't know, I don't know. I mean,
you know, maybe it's a wayto stop a lot of that, of
the ketamine and a lot of theyou know, the illegal drugs. Maybe,

(15:26):
but I think you've got to haveresponsibility for what you do in life,
and and if you, uh,if you can't do that, then
a lot of time, your sickness, your illness, your death, that's
on you. That's on you.Bob. You're listening to Tim Conway Junior
on demand from kf I Am sixforty. I don't know who do you

(15:48):
think is the best dancer on theshow. I'd say, Crozier, you
like to dance, right, Idon't know about that. You can knock
that out, belly you open? Can you dance again? Dance like your
mom? I do both? Yeah? Yeah, Angel, do you dance?
You go out dancing like she candance all the time. Really,
she used to break dance, Noway. I think that's part of her

(16:12):
elbow problem. I used to linedance, but I never felt comfortable doing
that. Denim and diamonds, Yeah, yeah, I love that place.
Did you just not feel comfortable becauseyou didn't know what to do with your
hands? No, I just feltlike I was doing exactly the way the
teacher was and everyone else was justtrying to keep up with us. Maybe

(16:36):
it was that trench coat you werewearing, lady. I used to ski
in a black trench coat with flatwith like blue jeans on, and wow,
it was kind of a cool look, I thought, Yeah, and
my sister made fun of me,and I'm like, oh, that's over.

(17:00):
Uh. But I thought you couldjust wear anything. I didn't know
that they made clothes for skiing.I guess they do. Yeah, they
do. Bibs. I bet youhave bibs, Belly, right, you
need the bibs. Bibs, bibs. Yeah, and you have your little
uh metal triangle. You put yourtag on. They still do that.
You put your ski tag on,Yeah, and it's on like tape and

(17:23):
you tape it to that little metaltriangle and you wear it around like you're
better than everybody. You're not.Okay, go ahead, how many how
many years have passes do you stillhave on your Oh? Yeah, bell
a lot? Is that funny?Because you think you're better than everybody,

(17:45):
you're not. Oh, you andyour trench coat are not better than us
either, and you're line dancing andyour your yourway. I was away a
little runway. I think you're jealousbecause you've never been asked to do runway.
I don't I don't know. Idon't know. That might be true
because I have not been has todo so there might be some truth to

(18:07):
that. But but you're still young, you know. I don't think that
invites coming And that's okay, youdon't think so, No, why would
it. I'll bet you anything ifwe said, you know, Ford Agency,
If I called over there and said, hey, yeah, Belly was
looking through some uh you know weekendrunway work. I think they called back
in a heartbeat. Well, Iwill say I think there is a shift

(18:30):
towards real people. I think you'reright, so because I I walk through
Target all the time when I gowith my wife and my daughter, and
and I see the models with theblown up pictures, you know, like
eight feet tall. Yeah, andI always point the my go hey,
huh, look at that. Thatgirl called mom and said, I'm modeling.

(18:52):
What's what is that supposed to me? Relatable? I don't know who
picked that? Be nice? Benice? I'm just so nice. I
point to the photos and go,hey, she called home to mom and
dad, I'm modeling. And dadhad to go, really is that when
you called home and said I'm modelingand they went, really, dad has

(19:17):
to be They're like, oh,that's great. I knew you'd get in
there, you know, I knewyou'd be a model one day. And
then then they hang up and momand dad just stare at each other.
No, they would think that, yeah, beautiful, that's true. You
always love your daughter no matter whatshe's doing. Right, Yeah, is

(19:40):
that true? Yes? All right, let's get into more news here.
Studio City destructive Studio City. Whatare they doing now? Burglaries in Studio
City. Wow, I'm sorry,sorry, that's the wrong guy. It's

(20:00):
at home. I got home lastnight one thirty. I told my wife
i'd be home at midnight. Iwas playing cards with friends and I said,
hey, I'll be on midnight, and I got really buzzed. I
took an uper home. I didgo get my car this morning, which
is you know that that long uberride back to trying to find the house.
You were playing cards last night. You're like, I think it's down

(20:22):
the street. And the guy's like, fuddy, you've got to find this
house. And I said, Iknow, I know, but I think
it's down the street. Go onemore street. I think that's it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, that's not it. It's over here.
Just do another whip a route. We'll find it. And then I
got home and my phone was on. I recorded my wife, baby,
baby, may baby, it's onlyone thirty sweety. I live here.

(20:51):
I'm welcome here too. No,you get the up out of here.
You get there, you get theup y. I'll get my car tomorrow.
I know exactly where it is.Ruber bag. Are you gonna give
me a ride or not? Areyou gonna give me a ride? Don't
you tell me to get the fout of here? I pay the mortgage.

(21:15):
I don't care. I pay themortgage. Yeah, if you were
a great wife, you give mea corona and a shot. Give me
a corona and a shot, please, Jen. Home invasion? Does that
sound familiar? Though? I hada couple. I had a couple of

(21:40):
imam invasion after home invasion. Theywere so fast. By the time I
got out, they were up thehill gone. Residents of the Laurel Wood
neighborhood in Studio City say they arefed up with burglars breaking, entering and
stealing valuables from holmes. Oh Iknow a guy who lives up in that
area. Do you say, Laurelresidence of the Lora Wood neighbor Oh,

(22:02):
No, I know a guy livesup there. That's horrible. Burglars breaking,
entering and stealing valuables from homes andcars in the community. Last night
a house got broken into. Aweek ago, my neighbor's house got broken
into. Gregory Naj says his daughterrecently stopped burglars from entering a home right
next door, so she looked outthe window and saw two individuals huddle down.

(22:27):
And as she saw this and heardthem, she shouted out, get
the hell off my property. Youplaying and he blank. We first told
you earlier this month about a burglaryin the same Studio City neighborhood where thieves
dressed in fake construction outfits ransacked ahome. Yeah, and then the guy
yelled at him. He's like, hey, you guys got to get out

(22:48):
of here. Man, you gottaget out of here. You get the
hell out of here. Man usingWi Fi jammers to disable the security cameras
before taking off with tens of thousandsof dollars the valuables. So that happened
on my street. Everyone's very, very concerned. Everyone's on alerts. It's
why the community is now banding together. Unfortunately, we do have to take

(23:11):
matters into our own hands. Yeah, you do, got a load up,
right, get a shotgun or two, start blasting away. This woman
who did not want not killing him, but scaring them. This woman who
did not want to be identified, started an emergency text thread with her neighbors.
So we have about ninety people alittle over ninety now people on our
group chain. Wow, that's prettygood. It sounds like Antelope Bakers.

(23:33):
We see suspicious people, we recordthem. Residents are now considering hiring private
security, and they're also getting theLAPD involved, inviting officers to their next
neighborhood watch meeting in hopes of buildinga wall of vigilance no burglar can break.
I don't know, I'd hire professionalsto do that. Fifty plus neighbors

(23:55):
that we're going to be advised bythe police department. Yeah, on what
we can and cannot you what methodsand procedures we can take. I mean,
everybody wants to feel safe and securein their own neighborhood. That's right,
that's right, But you're not.And the wave of break ins has
been so severe that residents tell usthey are moving their valuables out of their

(24:15):
homes. Wow, man, thatis wild. People are moving their valuables
outside of their house, causing ashortage of available security deposit boxes at nearby
banks. Ah man, oh man, that's crazy. I would like to
ask just a short little question ofthe people of laurel Acres. When's the

(24:37):
last time you voted for a anticriminal, pro police, heavy on anti
crime candidate for city council or countysupervisor or governor or is that enough is
enough? Yeah? Yeah, Andwe're keep voting in the wrong cats for

(25:03):
this. People are going to continuecrime unless you vote in different people.
That's the bottom line. So peopleup in Laurel Wood, I know you're
scared to death, but it alsomight be time to rethink of who you're
putting in office. So you're listeningto Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty. That's on you. I was with talking to Bellio and

(25:29):
Stephus during the break and, youknow, like an insecure guy that I
am, I'm essing on a TVreporter and as I'm doing that, a
part of the wall fell and righton my head. I'm like, oh,
sorry, sorry, I didn't meanit. It's like the second you
ended your sentence. Yeah, feltright on my head. A huge piece

(25:51):
of wall felt right on my head. Yes, So yeah, that's what
that was. Now, Yeah, that's what it was. Well, I
don't know what what why they're they'reyou know, our walls are hanging.
Never seen that before? It soundproofpanels? Oh, I didn't know that?
Why else? Never mind? Okay, Well I'm not I'm not an

(26:15):
engineer. You know, but you'rea smart man. It's worked in radio
for when's the last time anyone whoaccused me of being a smart man?
Seriously, seriously, don't wait forthe translation. What you're right, don't
wait wait for the translation. You'venever ever been accused of being touched?
Right, I just dawned on meat this app. I don't pride myself

(26:38):
on being the smartest cat. Thisis really a very hey now, easy
easy, easy, like overboard here, all right, we got two pandas
coming to I don't know. They'releaving China. They're going to San Diego,
all right, for the first timein twenty years, giant pandas are

(27:00):
heading to the US. Un Swanand Shinbaw leaving the lush mountain forests here
bound for San Diego. Is ita boy and a girl? Male and
female? Un Swan and Shinbaw. Is that I don't know? Is that
male and female? I believe? Is that right? Un Swan and Shinbaw
leaving the lusch One's the male unSwan, Uswan and Shinbaw, Yeah,

(27:22):
Yushwan. I think it's the maleleaving the lush mountain forests here bound for
San Diego. Oh great, Ibet they're thrilled. They're leaving a forest
to come to a beach that nobodycan swim in because there's feces in it.
Great, probably can't wait to gethere, a seven thousand mile journey
that has been months in the making. They're taking them out of the wild,

(27:44):
out of the forest and putting them. Well, look, I will
say this, you can't pick amore beautiful town than San Diego. But
stay out of the beach, stayout of the ocean. Wait minute,
the first one is the woman. No Yun Schwan is the four year old
male. Shinbao is a three yearold female. Wait a minute, swan.

(28:06):
Swan Isan is the what four yearold male male swan? And then
and Simbao Shinbao is the female.I like that that that sort of you
know, look, China's been aroundfor four or almost five thousand years.
We've been around for what two hunderand eighty, So I like that in

(28:26):
their culture, the male gets thenod first, like we we've done a
one eighty here where we always introducedthe female first. I think I'm Chinese.
She's a step behind him, iswhat you're saying. Yeah, follow
him behind. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The whole.

(28:52):
Experts like Wu Die say, ohwhat a name. I love this
guy. I love the expert. This guy's great. Whole Experts like Wu
Dive Foo say everything about a panda'senvironment needs to be assessed and considered.
Their departure revives China's panda diplomacy,a tradition people worried would end as relations

(29:14):
with the US of sourd As partof what China calls a new round of
