(00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you'relistening to the Conway Show on demand on
the iHeartRadio app. Presidential Debate.Tune in at six pm right here on
KFI. It's brought to you byCNN simulcast on KFI AM six forty.
So it's going to be a bignight, huge, huge night for CNN.

(00:24):
All right, let's get into someother news real quick, because you're
going to only hear the debate, and then after the debate, you're only
going to hear people talking about thedebate. So let's try to squeeze some
news in before the big debate tonight. There's a fire of fire on a
cruise ship. Hell happened. Asmall fire aboard Royal Caribbean's Icon of the

(00:45):
Seas caused a brief power outage whilethe ship was docked in Costa Maya on
Tuesday afternoon. At this time,a senatorships from Afton Das, a Royal
Cribban spokesperson, told Cruise Radio lastnight that the fire occurred in a crew
ara and was quickly extinguished by theonboard team and no injuries were reported.
Now after the power outage, theseships backup generator kicked in to restore power.

(01:08):
I Con eventually left Coastamaya at fivepoint fifteen pm local time and will
continue its itinerary as planned. It'sdo back in Miami this weekend. All
right, fire on a cruise ship. People always get nervous about that because
maybe you got mom or dad, grandma, grandpa, uncle, aunts,
cousins, friends on a cruise ship, and when it's on fire, it's

(01:30):
bad vibes. You want to know, the Lakers have drafted a where they've
made a couple of decisions in theirdraft picks this year, and Bronni James
was one of them. Lebron James'skid. This is a big deal because
you'll always hear a general manager saywe got exactly the guy we thought was
there. But for the Lakers, they have no idea that Dalton Connect,

(01:53):
oh, okay, this is DaltonConnect, this is their big pick,
would still be there. A lotof teams had them eight ninth or ten.
Wow, But there he was atseventeen and when the Lakers took him,
JJ Reddick pulled out a piece ofpaper and started drawing up plays for
their new sharpshooter. To his generalmanager, he is six foot six.
He says he models his game afterKevin Durant. Wouldn't that be great?

(02:15):
Oh? He shoots forty percent frombehind the arc and Rob Polinka called him
the ultimate Jim Rat because coming outof high school he did. Is that
a compliment? And somebody calls youthen called him the ultimate Jim Rat because
I guess so, I don't know, it's a compliment. Coming out of
high school, he didn't have oneDivision I scholarship offer, so he went
to a junior college, then spenttwo years at the very small Northern Colorado

(02:39):
before finally transferring to Tennessee as afifth year senior. He put on twenty
pounds of muscle and what he saidwas the quote best year of his life.
It's not just a dream for Connectto come to the Lakers, also
a dream for the Lakers' front office. We would have never imagined a players
skilled and sort of perfect for ourneeds would be there for us as Dalton

(03:01):
Connect. We had him, youknow, as a top ten player unanimously
across our scouting boards. Wow,in my mind was like, there's no
way a player like this could beavailable for us to pick on draft nights.
I was joking with Coach Reddick upstairsthat you know, we've we found
a movement shooter to match his skillsas a player at Tennessee. I've watched
a lot of JJ Reddick with CoachBarnes. This is Dalton, this Dalton

(03:24):
Connect talking at Tennessee. I've watcheda lot of JJ Reddick with Coach Barnes
and just the way he moves andpays himself and was able to create space.
So hearing that is it really excitingand it's going to be real special,
all right. So they got DaltonConnected seventeen and then they got Bronni
James lebron James Kid at number fiftyfive. So he's going to be playing

(03:47):
with his son on That's gonna bea big deal for Lakers. I don't
know if he'll go right to theG League or he'll, you know,
stay on the Lakers and be abench player. I don't know. I
don't know the munch bumpt basketball, but I do know there's some controversy over
it, and it reminds me ofthe controversy in the nineteen eighties when my

(04:11):
dad was doing that video called dwarfonGolf and he was looking for a guy
to drive a golf cart over himwhile he was Dwarf on golf and he
looked up and down Hollywood to getthe perfect actor, and then he hired
me to be the actor. Hedid all his due diligence, that's right.
And then I and then listening totalk radio like sports radio today talking

(04:33):
about Bronnie James. Back in theeighties, I was listening to Lowman and
Barkley and Michael Jackson and Tomkis andall these guys on talk radio saying,
oh, Tim Conway Junior is inthat new Dwarf video because of who his
dad is, and that was somecontroversy. And I remember TJ. Simons

(04:54):
said that kid got the job andstole it from some other actor. And
you know, my dad did.My day. I had called Loman and
Berkley and said, look, thisjob entails the actor driving over me with
a golf cart. I wanted somebodythat was going to be very careful of
driving over me with a golf cart, and I chose my kid. So

(05:17):
I've been there, Bronnie before,on a much much sort of you know
parallel plane where everybody in talk radiois talking about you and your dad,
and I was there with Dwarf ongolf and I remember how how weird that
week was. So Bronnie, ifyou're listening, I've been there. Man,

(05:38):
hang on, hold on. It'sgonna be a rough week, rough
month, but I think you canhandle it. And that's my sports great
sports talk, right, But listeningto Petro's Money and other sports talked about
the Lakers draft choice and Bronnie James. That's a big controversy. That's a
big controversy and I don't know reallywhy it is. The draft pick was

(06:01):
number fifty five. It's not likeyou're gonna you know, it's not like
a waste at fifty five. Andwho knows, maybe it'll track a lot
of people to go down and watchLebron James play basketball with his son.
That'd be cool to see. Idon't think it's ever happened before in the
NBA. I don't think anybody hasever played basketball on the same court with

(06:24):
their son. So that'll be somethingcool to say. You can go down
there and check that out. Allright, don't forget the debate. We're
forty five minutes away from that debate. Actually, at longer that forty eight
minutes, forty seven and a halfminutes away. This is gonna be something
everybody will be talking about this tomorrow, and it'll start right here on KFI

(06:44):
tonight with Chris Merrill, and thenyou got George Nori, and then after
that you've got Amy King with thatmorning show that she does Wake Up Call,
and then you've got Bill Handle he'llbe talking about it, and of
course Gary and Shannon we'll be talkingabout the debate, and John Colebel as
well, So everyone will be talkingabout the debate. You have to be

(07:08):
up on it and you have tolisten to it right here on KFI.
It's being presented by CNM. It'sthe CNN presidential debate, and we're gonna
simulcast it right here on kfive inforty six minutes and fifty seconds. You'll
hear it right here. It's exciting. We're already here. You know,
we've been talking about this debate forweeks and weeks and weeks, and now

(07:30):
we're less than an hour away. It's a big deal. This debate tonight
a big deal. There's gonna beover one hundred million people watching this,
over one hundred million. It's gonnabe on every network. You're listening to
Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFIAM six forty. Think Dog that's had
an argument with Belly om im A. I like Del Taco every once in

(07:54):
a while, but when I drivethrough, I say, hey, don't
skimp on the please don't skimp onthe cheese, because I asked for extra
cheese ones and they charge me.So if you say don't skimp on it,
they feel like they've got to putsome more cheese on it. So
Bellio said, our own Kiki, who works here as a producer, looking

(08:18):
to make extra money for her wedding. She's got a heterosexual wedding coming up
and looking to make some money. And I said, oh, you should
work at the Del Taco on SanFernando. And Bellio says to me,
oh, so you have an inon the extra cheese. That's why you
want her to work there. AndBellio said, I don't think it's safe
for a woman to work at adrive through after, you know, at

(08:39):
night. I said, it's perfectlysafe. It's in Burbank, Burbank cops,
they are on it. It's gonnabe fine. I want my extra
cheese. So I think we're gonnahave an in at the at the Del
Taco. We tried to get herin on Wendy's, but I don't know
that that came together. We're stillworking on koe Are Yeah. Oh nice,

(09:01):
shout out nice? All right,We've got some more news before the
big CNN presidential debate tonight on cand N. Also on KFI Simulcas on
KFI AM six forty. We arethirty eight minutes away, thirty eight minutes
away from the big debate, andit's going to have over one hundred million

(09:24):
people watching and listening. I thinkKFI is going to have thirty million people
listening. But it's a big deal. It's a big deal. All right.
Second, couple more phone calls, then we'll wrap up the phone calls.
Let's put up Paul online to Paulthe King of Big Screen? How
you Bob? Hey? Pretty good? How about you? So? Do
you remember Paul the King of BigScreen? No? I don't. How

(09:46):
old are you? Seventy seven?Seventy? You should know who that is?
Yeah, probably, but I don't. All right, So what's going
on with you? You're old enoughto be on that debate stage tonight?
Very good? Yeah, The questionis, if Biden takes a drug test,
will Trump take a polygraph test?Oh? Right, that's interesting.

(10:09):
All right, So you think onemight be taking drugs, one might be
lying. I'd say there's a goodpossibility. Okay, all right. Where
do you live, Paul? Oh? I love San Bernandino. Do you
ever called Sam Burdio? Yeah,we're in San Bernandino, up in the
north end by the University. Ohis that up? Is that up in

(10:31):
near the hills off eighteen? It'soff the two fifteen. What do you
do up there? You retired?Yep? Sure? What'd you do for
a living? Uh? Right?A thing's last thing? I was working
at a pet food manufacturer in aquality control lab. Let's go. You
know. I used to know avery attractive woman and her job was to

(10:54):
taste test dog food. That's atrue star okay, and a taster,
a taste test, a taste atester for the dog food. Yeah,
yeah, she was great and shewould taste test that dog food for what
what dog food company? It's calledDones. They're called a copacker. We

(11:15):
packaged for majority of the big companieslike Mars and Nestle's and all that is
it good stuff. What goes intothat dog food? Well, there's quite
a few different components. There's wheat, beats, meat, corn, whole
things dogs love. Yeah. Sureyou ever gamble occasionally, but just for

(11:41):
small steaks. Where do you goYou play cards? You go to concede
them, play cards sometimes just withfriends. That's cool. It sounds like
you've got to going on, dude, Yeah, where's what's the wife?
And kids? Sitch? None oneither on either? Wow? Wow,
man, how did you do that? Lucky? I guess how did you

(12:03):
pull that off? Nobody wanted meand then nobody cleaned. I had any
children with them, so okay?Wow man, oh man, you got
to write a book, you know. I mean I got a kid and
I love her, but I didn'thave the ability to skate out of that
at all. Yeah. Well, kids are fantastic kids. I really enjoy
kids. Yeah I did too.Yeah. What do you what takes up

(12:28):
your day? Then? I mean, you're retired. What do you do
all day? Oh? I listenedto you guys on the radio a lot,
play a little solitaire, do alot of reading. You know.
Just take care of the apartments. Are you apartment apartment manager? No?
No, just take care of myapartment, you know, keep it clean
as much as possible. I see. Do you own anything? Do you
have a like a business? Doyou own apartment buildings or anything? No?

(12:52):
Just getting buy. Yeah? Youever go to Walmart? Oh?
Yeah, sure I do. Weshould go to Walmart together. If I
go buzz that there, we'll goto Walmart. That's fine. Yeah,
which Walmart you go to? It'sthe one up on the north end of
San Bernardino, out of off Hallmark. I know a solid guy when he

(13:13):
knows his Walmart. Mm hmm.You know. Yeah, that's how I
tell solid people in life. Youcan tell me where your Walmart is.
Buddy, I'm gonna call you. We're gonna go to Walmart, all right,
I honestly god, I'm gonna comeout. We'll go to Walmart.
Okay, it's a deal. Okay, all right, don't bang on me.
You know I'm not rich, don'tyou know. Start putting crap in

(13:35):
the cart and expect me to payfor it. Oh no, I wouldn't
do that. I don't know. The jury's still out there on you.
All right, buddy, let meget your phone numbered. I see your
calling from this seven seven three areacode No. Nine zero nine nine no
nine. All right, don't giveit to me on the air, but

(13:56):
I'm gonna get your number. We'regonna go to Walmart. Okay, all
right, hell hold all right, hold on, all right, thanks Paul,
hold on, buddy, Thanks, hold on, all right. I
love that dude. Yeah, he'sa great guy man. You know,
he is sitting in his apartment. He's uh, you know, he sounds
like he's pretty busted out. He'sgot an apartment at seventy seven, no

(14:16):
wife, no kids, So hespend his money on something. That's why
I sniffed around gambling. He's evengamble forward to Yeah, he doesn't even
gamble. Yeah. I think it'sa lot of booze. I think he
hits it hard with the booze.I think he buys it by the case.
All right, Eduardo, last callbefore the big debate online? Five?
What's going on with you, Bob? Thank you Tim. This is

(14:39):
an honor formerly of Chicago and nowin Tampa. And I moved from Chicago
because the residents over there are gettingstickers shot because of the empty buildings.
So now the residents pay higher taxes. And you had a lady who came
from dinner, had a miscarriage becauseof a flash mob. So there you
go. Inflation and crime are goingto be spearhair. So why incumbent will

(15:01):
lose in November? All right? And so wait, you were born in
Chicago and then lived in Tampa.Yeah, I uh, fifty years in
Chicago and now I'm in Tampa. Were you a big Blackhawks fan? Oh?
Yeah? And a white Sox fan? Definitely? Oh you're white Sox
guy. Yeah. Born and raisedon the South Side. Yeah, by

(15:24):
Midway Airport. Oh yeah, Iknow, I know exactly where it is.
So yeah. You're also a Bullsfan. You're a Bears fan.
You got to see for some prettygood years Bulls. Yes, yes,
definitely. But I'm still a adevoted Chicago sports fan even though I'm over
here in Tampa. You go backfar enough, like I do to Bobby
orr h. I started watching inthe eighties. Oh, man, you're

(15:50):
nothing, You're not far I ohyeah, yeah, you got nothing going
on? All right, that's cool. And then you moved to Tampa.
Yes, so far still good.Yes, I'm trying to figure you out.
You're you only started watching sports inthe eighties, but you're fifty,
So you spent your first fifteen yearsnot watching these sports. Yeah, well

(16:11):
I was a teenager. I'm agen X. I get it. But
I said, I get it,But you know you didn't get into sports
when you were like seven, eight, nine, ten. No. Well,
here's the thing. I mean,I grew up poor, and of
course Weedy would have to have cable, and so you got to listen to
it on the radio. What doyou do for a living now? Yeah,
I used to work for Blue Crosstwenty two years and I'm hoping to

(16:33):
work for a hospital soon. Igot my fingers crossed. Good for you,
man, you get back to thepublic. Yeah, I liked it.
Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna makeyou the favorite call for the day
that isn't on there team my call. I'm okay. I got a KFI
shirt already, so very much. Now you've gone down to number two,
all right, buddy, Okay,Saul, I see you, dude,
Thank you much. Okay. Hewas doing so well too. Yeah,

(16:56):
and then he got into uh alreadygot his shirt from Oke Kelly. Al
Right, Well that's cool, allright. I gotta thank Edward for calling
Paul the king of big screen outin Sam Burndet. I'm going to Walmart
with that guy. Devin was agreat call. I remember that guy with
a nat Nola with his kid buzzingaround, a seven year old kid.
And then Moose, he was acool call. Like that guy. I'll

(17:17):
put him at third, and thenLinda with the Son team. I don't
know. It wasn't the vibe ofthe show. I don't think she got
what we're doing today. I don'tknow what's going on with her. Maybe
she'll call again and be better. For right now, she's last on the
list one, two, three, four, she's fifth. Lucky to be
fifth too. Baby. You're listeningto Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI

(17:41):
AM six forty. It'll be onCNN and also simulcast right here on KFI
AM six forty in less than tenminutes, and the lead up to the
big debate on CNN is brought toyou by the Vand's There Yeah one day
dreating life changing results. Make yourpoint today at advance there dot com.
All right, so we're going totry to let you in on what's going

(18:03):
to happen during the debate. ABCRob Hayes did a great job getting all
the details together for us. SoRob was going on out there, buddies,
and I'd see ann presidential debate fullof first the first time both candidates
have served as president, the firsttime a convicted felon has taken part,
and the first time in nearly fouryears, President Biden and former President Trump

(18:26):
have been in the same room. The last time was for one of their
debates, the first of those nastyand boorish because the question, the question
just radtional left shut up. Thistime around, there will be no audience
and the microphones will only be turneddown when it's the candidate's turned to speak.

(18:47):
The Biden campaign are the ones thatinsisted on it. They wanted Trump
to be muted, so they didn'twant those interruptions. But it might be
that the Trump team is kind ofhappy with that because it controls their candidate.
It might force a restraint on thevery unpredictable actor and Donald Trump.
President Biden has spent nearly a weekin Camp David holding mock debates to prepare
for tonight. Trump has taken adifferent approach, holding more than a dozen

(19:08):
policy sessions with advisors and allies.I think I've been preparing for it for
my whole life. If you wantanother truth, I'm not sure you can
lock yourself into a room for twoweeks or one week or two days and
really learn what you have to know. On the campaign trail, Trump called
into an event at an Atlanta barbershop, suggesting his criminal conviction is boosting his

(19:30):
appeal with black voters. The blacksupport has gone through the roofs, and
guess they equate it to problems thatthey've had. Biden's camp calling that insulting
and rolling out a new campaign adfeaturing prominent Republicans who called Trump a threat
to democracy, threat of democracy.I cannot and good conscience endorse Donald Trump.
Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinsinger, whoserved on the January sixth Committee,

(19:55):
publicly endorsing Biden. There is oneman running for re election of two men
running for reelection that cares about thefuture of this country and cares about democracy,
and that's Joe Biden. Voters mayhave to wait a bit longer to
see Biden and Trump face off aftertonight. There's only one more debate on
the schedule, and it's hosted byABC in September. All right, ABC

(20:15):
in September, So that's the informationon the debate. CNN has put this
whole thing together and it's going tobe on in well about five minutes from
now. The first presidential debate intwenty twenty between these two candidates attracted an
audience of seventy three million viewers. That's a lot, making it one of

(20:37):
the biggest debates ever, and thishighly publicized debate tonight will probably break those
and shadow those records as well. They're expecting over one hundred million people to
watch this debate. Instead of theblue background showing the Constitution like the last
debate the previous presidential debates, viewerswill see the CNN logo. That's smart

(21:00):
of CNM, and they provided theplatform, so they have their anchors,
Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will bethe moderators. And then it says here
CNN is putting restrictions on the useof the simulcast right down to what it
should be called. The CNN onscreen logo or bug as it's known in

(21:23):
the industry, must appear throughout thesimulcast. So if you're watching it on
Fox, ABC, NBC, you'realso going to see the CNN logo and
also very smart of CNN to brandthe entire debate on every channel, whether
it's English, Spanish, whatever languageit is. And right now we're four

(21:44):
minutes and forty seven seconds away.God, is this exciting. CN is
requiring other outlets to refer to itas the CNN presidential Debate. That's what
we do here. However, othernetworks cannot insert their own anchors or commentators
during the breaks or any other portionof the telecast. These are all the
rules that came along with that.So we are already for the CNN Debate.

(22:08):
You'll be listening to it right hereon kffive. There'll be two small
commercial breaks that we know of,at between six thirty and six forty five.
There'll be a three minute break there, and then another one at around
seven thirty, and then we'll comeback and they'll have final you know,
closing arguments or closing remarks. Sothis is really an exciting night. It's

(22:33):
going to be the most listened tohour and a half probably on KFI.
People in their cars driving around listeningto the debate between President Joe Biden and
former President Donald Trump, and whoeverwins is going to be a lame duck
president whoever wins, will not haveto worry about running for president again because

(22:56):
they can't. You can only servetwo terms totally, either be the second
term for Donald Trump or the secondterm for Joe Biden. And all of
this information is being brought to youby our good friends at Advanced Hair Life
Changing Results. Make your appointment todayat Advanced haair dot com. And then
as soon as the debate is over, Chris Merrill will be on and talking

(23:18):
about it right here on KFI.John Colebelt will be on with Alex Michaelson.
But stay on KFI and enjoy it. He'll have a wrap up I
imagine once the debate is over.I think he'll probably either you know,
have information, or take calls orread social media all the way up till
ten o'clock. It's a major deal. President Joe Biden will be on the

(23:45):
right hand side of the screen,I believe, and Donald Trump will be
on the left, and the micswill be cut off after the allotted time,
So if you have admitted to answer, they'll see a flashing red light,
then they'll go to just blank air, dead air. How much do
you think despite Mike's being off oneof the other is going to try to

(24:07):
talk over. Oh, I'm surethey will, Like you're gonna hear them
way in the background, exact sideof the stage. Yeah, that's exactly
right. They should be in soundproofboots where you can't hear them. You
know, once you cut them off, you're cut off. But this is
going to be we are carrying itlive here thanks to CNN, and this
will be a ratings bonanza for CNN. There will be well, I think

(24:30):
they'll be well over one hundred millionpeople watching. Everybody who's driving in your
car right now, unless you're eighteenor nineteen and you really don't care about
this crap. Everybody on the fivefour or five sixty ninety one, whatever
freeway you're on. I guarantee youthat all the cars around you are listening

(24:51):
to this debate, probably mostly onKFI, but I think one other station
is running it. But there aresome stations that aren't running it. You
know, there's some sports stations thatare running it. Music stations will will
not run it, but we will. We will run it uninterrupted. So
let's run the ID here real quick, STEFU, so we get that out

(25:11):
of the way. I know itthe recorded one is better than the one
I've pumped for through all the time. KFI and KOST HD two, Los
Angeles, Orange County. Hey see, I can't get that sweet. I
always screw that up. But thatis our that is our final audio that
we're going to run. This debateis going to start momentarily, so bear

(25:33):
in mind. Remember they're actually startingat six oh one, was when they're
actually supposed to start. The moderatorstonight. When you hear the male and
female voices, that would be JakeTapper and Dana Bash CNN both, Yeah,
and this will go to seven thirty, and then you'll hear people spin
and you know on social media, you're you're going to get a lot of
it on social media, and itprobably pretty heated on social media because people

(25:56):
are already in their own camps. You know, I don't know how many
undecided there are, and I don'tknow, you know, what makes you
an undecided right now. I thinkit's odd that people haven't decided. I
think there's so many people that, you know, there's no way if you're
a Trump fan, there's no wayyou'd vote for Biden. If you're a

(26:17):
Biden fan, there's no way you'dvote for Trump. And that's that's probably
true of eighty five percent of peoplelive in this country, and so maybe
this debate is just for the otherfifteen percent, you know. Oddly enough,
I was just looking at stats onit, and they we know that
they are exactly eight feet apart,so we're right. More about when their

(26:37):
MIC's off, chances are you'll probablyhear somebody talking, oh yeah, sure
really, And you know I findthis odd croche and maybe you know why
because you've been in radio longer thanI have. They're running a cn is
running a two minute delay on thisIs that for in case somebody swears?
And if somebody swears, it's onCNN, why would they care? That
seems a little odd a two minutefor those two guys, and we only
run I don't know, a sixtysecond here. I think any thing either

(27:00):
of those two would say shouldn't bedumped. It's like we'd want to carry
anything that they say. Why havea two minute delay? That's right,
that's right. Anyways, Big DebateDigdog at this debate Conway show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app. Now youcan always hear us live on kf I

(27:21):
Am six forty four to seven pmMonday through Friday, and anytime on demand
