(00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you'relistening to The Conway Show on demand on
the iHeartRadio app KFI AM sixty. It is The Conway Show, all right,
digkdling, everybody. We're here ona Sunday, all gathered around to
talk about politics, and normally wedon't really cover politics on the show because
it just separates people. But happensto be a big story, pretty big

(00:22):
story. When Joe Biden said, screw it, I'm out. He jumps
out, and now Harris is goingto be the nominee. I guess,
I don't know. We'll have tosee. A lot of people are not
endorsing Kamala Harris. We'll see.I was watching MSNBC. You know,
you always like to see, youknow, people from both groups, the

(00:43):
Republicans on Fox, the Democrats onMSNBC. You want to see how everybody's
handling it, how you know, who they get on. Rachel Maddow was
on vacation, so they quickly threwher on and she came on and she
said, oh, I'm sorry,I have no makeup on. I thought,
oh, that's kind of a superialthing to say, you know,
I mean, I think people understandit's a weekend, and I you know,

(01:04):
just what do you think about JoeBiden. Her first thing is,
I don't have any makeup on okay, all right, But she said,
this is a really bad day forDonald Trump because Kamala Harris is now going
to be running against him. AndI thought, it's a really bad day
for Joe Biden. I think it'sa worse day for Joe Biden than it
is for Donald Trump. And ashe leaves, as Joe Biden leaves,

(01:26):
he says, Kamala Harris is mycandidate, my choice, and I think
that's going to present a lot ofproblems, a lot of problems for the
Democrats, a whole host of them, a big basket of them. And
one of them is that I heardfrom a very reliable source, and I

(01:47):
don't want to say who it is, but push comes to shove, I'll
tell you, you know, ifit's between me going to jail and not
divulging the source, or me stayingout of jail telling everybody who it is,
I'm talking, I'm talking. I'mtelling everybody who it is. But
I heard that Joe Biden and JoeBiden don't really like Kamala Harris because of

(02:13):
what Kamala Harris said about Joe Bidenin the first debate in the twenty twenty
election and calling Joe Biden a racist, and they really sort of never got
over that. So we'll have tosee what happens. We'll see, but
Hollywood got its way. Hollywood wantedJoe Biden out, and Hollywood won a
big victory for Hollywood. Now,I know a lot of people are First

(02:36):
of all, most people, ifyou're watching NASCAR or drag racing, you
still have no idea that this isgoing on because this country does not stop
anything for auto racing. Auto racingis the king of this country. You
watched Channel two when this news brokeon CBS live coverage. They brought in
their big anchors, live coverage onChannel two, Channel four, Nascar from

(03:01):
Indianapolis, Channel five covering it,Channel seven covering Biden, Channel nine,
CBS covering Biden, Channel eleven.Drag racing, drag racing. That's all
you need to know about this country. If you came to this country and
you're flipping around stations and you sawthe the Democratic nominee, there's only two

(03:23):
parties in this country and one partylost its nominee nominee today, and you're
flipping around TV. You would seenews news car racing, news news car
racing. We don't stop anything forauto racing. That's a different group.
And then you know you can youcan shut you can shut down soap operas

(03:46):
for a news conference or primetime networkprogramming, whatever. You shut down a
NASCAR race to put in politics ordrag racing to put in politics. Many
you're gonna hear it. You're gonnahear it. They do not like that.
So here's what we know. Imean, you know, it's it's
not a mystery. A lot ofpeople are saying you'll remember where you were

(04:09):
when this happened. I don't know. I don't know if that's true.
I don't know if it's a bigstory. I think about ninety nine percent
of us saw it coming. Idon't know, maybe ninety nine and a
half. It happened at one fortyfive. But even this morning, Joe
Biden, whose voice is very hoarse, I guess he's coughing a lot.
He's got COVID, he's been vaxedand revaxed and boosted and reboosted. He

(04:32):
gets he gets a lot. He'sin a lot of the I think he's
addicted to these inoculations, like AmyKing. But so he's been vexed and
revaxed, and man, he stillgets wiped out by this COVID and maybe
he's overvaxed. I don't know that'spossible. But all morning you say,
no, I'm running. It's gonnabe great. We're we got net and
Yahoo coming in town. We're gonnawe have three schedule events on Monday,

(04:55):
Tuesday, and Wednesday. We're gonnabe running. We're gonna be running.
And then at one forty five onthe East coast, which is what ten
forty five eleven twelve one, Yeah, look at everybody. Everybody went to
their fingers, Elmer, Amy King, everybody. We're at ten forty five
to one five at one for twelveeleven, ten three hours. We do
that with the time time difference betweenEast Coast and West coast. Everybody trots

(05:18):
out their fingers. Let's see,it's three o'clock here, five, six
seven, All right, it isfour o'clock here, six seven eight.
You know, we everybody with fingers. So oneive, the letter comes out
and he's gone. He's gone, and on the way out the door.
Well, he's not leaving the presidencyyet, but on the way out the
door, he says, Harris ismy gal? All right. Ginger Gibson

(05:43):
is with us, the senior Washingtoneditor at NBC News. Ginger, how
are you good for you? Oh? Man? I I was flipping around
networks. I saw MSNBC. Isaw Rachel Maddow there, you know,
talking and about this whole deal, and then I go to NBC four to
see if you guys have cut in. No, no, no, Nascar.

(06:04):
Nascar is cut in. We didcut into Nascar. And importantly,
any of your listeners can follow ournews. That's right, the news now
we're online. But we did cutin. I know, I get it.
I get it. Look, I'msaying it as a I'm saying it
as a compliment. I think, you know, very rarely do you mess
with Nascar. Man. Those peopledon't like their they like their auto racing.

(06:27):
All right. So so Ginger Gibson, senior Washington editor with NBC News,
what do you say? What doyou know? Well, as you've
said, you know, Biden announcedhe's going to step aside. He will
no longer accept the Democratic nomination afew minutes later, he endorsed Kamala Harris.
It's not automatic, some things are. His campaign has already changed the

(06:48):
name of their committee to be Harrisfor President. And with that team ninety
six million dollars of thanks that shegets right away. So she's got a
lot of advantages. We're watching endorsementsfor her poor and but we still haven't
heard from some folks who could mounta challenge your own governor. Governor Newsom

(07:12):
the governor of Illinois, Governor Pritzkerare two names that we've heard in the
past before the decision was made asthe type of people who might try to
challenge Herrick. But it's going tobe difficult. She's got the structural advantage
and starting to pick up more andmore endorsements. We saw the Tennessee delegates
who were backing Biden are now backingHarris. For the first delegation to come

(07:35):
out and support of her, Andthis is going to be a really nerdy,
weedy process. The delegates will havean open convention, they'll go to
Chicago next month and choose their nominee, and we'll all get to watch it
unfold in real time on television. You know, you. Let me ask
you a question. Joe Biden hasyet to release his delegates. Is that

(07:59):
just something is going to happen inthe next couple of days or do you
think he's going to withhold and makeit a process more complicated. It's not
a thing he has to do.You are experts on the rules have dug
in and they say once he decidesnot to accept it, their release.
So those delegates are are free forthe taking. There's no sort of blessing

(08:20):
he has to give to release andthe rules don't require that. So that
means that they're free to vote forwhoever they want. And what do you
hear, because I know you're youknow, you're not just a Washington editor,
You're the senior Washington editor for NBCNews, which is a huge deal.
What do you hear about Vice presidentdecisions for Kamala Harris? You know

(08:41):
she's got a lot of options andwe're starting to hear names. I'll be
clear, this is all moving veryquick, but we don't have that she's
picked one or another. But somenames I would be watching if I were
you. Is Andy Basher, thegovernor of Kentucky who got reelected by winning
some areas that truck was very successfulin. Josh Shapiro, the governor of

(09:03):
Pennsylvania, is another name I wouldbe watching really closely. And the name
I mentioned earlier, Governor Pritzker ofIllinois. He's got a lot of money,
may not want to be a VP, but sometimes we have found both
to have a hard time saying noit has so he would be one I
would keep in mind too. Now, technically, well I guess not technically

(09:24):
according to a constitution it cannot beGavin Newsom, because then Gavin Newsom and
Kamala Harris would represent the same state. Is that true? Well, as
we saw this with Trump considering pickingRubia, one of them would have to
move and I set that would betoo difficult for the sitting Vice president,
who currently resides in Washington, DCto move her residency out of the state

(09:48):
of California. But yet they couldn'tboth be California residents on Electoral College Day
come December, Okay, And thepushback that a lot of people are going
to be obviously you're going to heara lot about this that you know during
the voting process over the last year, and you know in every state or
most of the states have already gonethrough it. Nobody voted for Kamala Harris,

(10:11):
and yet she is going to bethe nominee. Is that going to
be present a problem? You know, we're hearing that criticism, heard it
before, that this sort of underminesdemocracy, that it takes away the power
of the voters of the primary.Democrats will respond me that was saying,
look, we had a process andit didn't produce a candidate, and now
we've decided that's not the best candidate. And this isn't as vail. Are

(10:35):
going to argue the support of democracy, giving the voters the option of someone
who can really govern for another fouryears, whereas Biden is ready to retire,
and so I think they're going tomake that case. I still think
we're going to hear Republicans say quitea bit that they think this process is
now undermining democracy, that no onevoted for Harris. And we should be

(10:56):
clear too, that there's an electoralsort of disadvantage that puts Harris out.
When people vote for you the firsttime, they feel invested in you,
they feel like you're the one theyput their bet on to begin with,
and she's not gonna have that exactlyshe was. They were running as a
ticket in the primary, but won'thave it as exactly in the same way
going into the general. Ginger,I know you're very busy. Can you
stay with us or do you haveto go? Either way, it's up

(11:18):
to you. I'm gonna have togo, but I would love to join
you again in the future. Youare the best. Thank you for coming
on. I appreciate it. Iknow that you're being tugged in a million
diffrect directions. I really appreciate youcoming out with us. Thanks for having
me. Thank you all right,Ginger Gibson, Senior washing and editor with
NBC News. That is not asmall position. That's like one of the

(11:39):
top level positions in America in journalism, and we got her. So that
was cool. That was great. Our real life continuing to follow the coverage
of President Joe Biden stepping aside andendorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president.

(12:00):
What a day? All right? Will continue all the way till six o'clock.
Live live coverage here on KF five. You're listening to Tim Conway Junior
on demand from KFI AM six fortyAM. I AM at six forty is
Conway Show, continuing live coverage ofWashington d C. Joe Biden, Kamala
Harris, Joe Biden stepping aside.Maybe you've already heard, and Kamala Harris

(12:22):
being endorsed by Joe Biden. Okay, that's the big story. The secondary
story is we've just had an earthquakethe Palace Vertice estates three point five.
It happened literally and let's see hereat three nine Pacific, So it happened

(12:43):
about twelve minutes ago, thirteen minutesago. A minor earthquake occurred at three
oh nine, almost three ten pmtoday, and it was a three point
five west Palace Vertice Estates. Thatis a big deal out there because the
ground has been moving radically in thatarea radically. Homes have been lost,

(13:07):
streets have been torn up, andany kind of additional earth movement in that
area is a big deal. Itwas five miles west southwest of Redondo Beach.
For you geography nuts out there,it was five miles southwest of Hermosa
Beach, ten six miles south southwestof Manhattan Beach in the Rolling Hills Estates

(13:31):
area. And sorry, that wasten miles away, all right, So
Palasford is the States. That's whereit happened, and any more news out
of that, we will have itfor you. It happened just off the
coast, and Palasford is the States. It sticks out. There's a western
exposure, southern exposure, and ifyou get towards San Pedro, there's a

(13:52):
southeastern exposure. This happened in theSanta Monica Bay area of that of that
location. So if you're on thePalace Vertus estates, that happened furthest away
from marine Land. For you oldercats out there, it's on the opposite
side of Marine Land, very closeto It's on the Manhattan Beach side and

(14:16):
Hermosa Beach side and Redondo Beach justoff the coast of Redondo Beach and Palace
Vertice estates three point five earthquake.Okay, not a big deal, but
again, that area is moving, and when that area moves like this,
that's a big deal. That isa big deal, all right, Joe
Biden stepping aside. We there wasa couple of news services that were reporting

(14:39):
that and everybody thought, you know, that's probably bs, but it turned
out to be true. And therewas some conservative websites that were reporting that,
and I didn't see it on theon CBS, NBC, ABC.
I didn't see those reports, butI think it was Newsmax or one of

(15:01):
the conservative publications or websites last Thursday, so three days ago said it's going
to happen on Sunday afternoon, andthey were right. I don't know how
they got that, but they wereright. Now, Joe Biden hasn't said
anything, hasn't addressed the nation, and we'll wait to see where that happens.

(15:22):
You know, when the president addressesthe nation, it's usually from one
of two places. What is theOval Office? When there's been a terrorist
attack, or there's a war that'sstarting, or there's the you know,
the space Shuttle explodes. All thegrim news comes out of the Oval Office,
very somber. The celebratory news outof the White House, well,

(15:43):
that's reserved for the Rose Garden.Outdoors. You can hear the birds,
the grass is nice, flowers, everybody's upbeat. Where will this be?
Will it be a somber ending inthe Oval Office to his career or the
beginning of new life for the Democratsin the Rose Garden? Well, I

(16:07):
bet Kamala Harris is hoping for theRose Garden because if not, that is
going to be a very down day. Down day. All right, we're
getting a lot of breaking news here. We just got President Kamala Harris.
It says Vice I'm sorry, VicePresident Kamala Harris. We're a couple months
ahead here. Vice President Kamala Harrishas secured her first delegates in Tennessee is

(16:30):
the first state to award all ofits delegates to her, and this gives
her seventy seven. Several other stateparty chairs are currently in discussions and are
expected to make similar moves here.So that is breaking news and we will
keep watching that. But that isa big story to see how many delegates

(16:52):
she gets. Will she try tobe stopped by some other Democrats that are
also interested. So this is goingto be very interesting to see what happens.
Look when I was growing up,I grew up in the valley in
the seventies and as a kid,you know, you didn't really care about
politics. But I don't remember mymom or dad really into politics either.
I think we've just all sort ofin the last ten to fifteen years,

(17:15):
have gotten really into it. Youknow, since Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton
and then since Joe Biden beat DonaldTrump, everybody's become, you know,
a real partisan. People have lostrelationships over it, people have lost family
members over it. You know,if you're a big Trump fan and your

(17:36):
family hates Trump, there goes theThanksgiving, there goes the Christmas, you
know, a good night and theand vice versa. You know, if
you've got a big Trump family that'ssitting there in Parker, Arizona. You
know, then if you're a youknow, a New Yorker who happens to
be a big Joe Biden supporter,it's uncomfortable to go there because everybody's wearing

(17:57):
a Trump hat or a Trump shirtor flags. Those there are a couple
of weeks ago, and man,you see nothing but Trump flags on that
river, on that Colorado River fromall the way, you know, from
the essentially Lake Mead all the waydown through park Or, Arizona and Lake
Havitsu, that whole area, it'sall Trump. So if you're not,

(18:18):
if you're a big Biden supporter, you don't feel comfortable going there. And
that's what we've done. We've gotteninto two camps, and so that's why
it's popular. That's why everybody's talkingabout it. All the news stations,
all the cable news stations have gonewalled wall. There isn't but a single
commercial that I've been watching, andI watched them all that have shown a
single commercial. They're all going wallto wall on the coverage, and we

(18:41):
have come in. Gary and Shannondid an unbelievable job. I know Gary
and Shannon were pissed at something Isaid during the cross but you know they
know that I like both of them, and I can prove that by showing
them a text that I sent toRobin Bertolucci. I heard Gary on last
weekend talking about the assassination attempt onDonald Trump, and I wrote that Gary

(19:07):
did an unbelievable job, and Ican show him the text as well.
But I got a call last Saturday. I was up in Oregon vacationing,
the first vacation I've had all year, so I take My last day of
work was a Friday, So myfirst day of vacation was a Saturday,
and I got a call Saturday afternoon, Hey can you come in? Can
you get back? Can you getin? Can you get on have your

(19:29):
equipment with you? I said no, I don't have my equipment with me,
and then Neil Savager was a verynice to come in. I thought
he was the perfect voice for that. Very calm, very settling, a
very smart man. And then Garycame in, and man, I was
hooked. I was listening to thewall to wall coverage after the assassination attempt,
so I thought, Okay, thingsare going to calm down. And

(19:51):
then literally almost a week later oreight days later, Joe Biden Bales,
Joe Biden Bales and I get anothercall, Hey, can you come in?
Can you come on? Can youdo this? Can you do that?
And I'm like, wow, that'sthat's kind of cool. Being off
for the very first first week,I take a vacation and getting called twice
to come in. I feel veryflattered, very flattered. All right,

(20:12):
we're going to continue this coverage. We got a lot going on here.
We had Ginger Gibson on the firsthour. She was great. She's the
senior Washington editor for NBC News. You don't get bigger than that. We've
got Moe Kelly coming on at fouro'clock. We're watching that earthquake as well
out in Palas Verdes, that thatarea is moving as it is so to

(20:33):
have it have another you know,uh, another vehicle, another wait for
that area to move. Every getseverybody's attention out there. Everybody's so we're
following that. We're following the earthquakeand Joe Bide. We've got two big
stories. Actually one big story andthen the smaller earthquake. But I'm telling
you, people that live out inPalas Verda's estates are terrified of the land

(20:56):
moving and then and they're losing theirhome Holmes terrified. So we got to
cover that as well. All right, we're live on KFI AM at six
forty. You're listening to Tim ConwayJunior on demand from KFI AM six forty
KFI AM at six forty It's ConwayShow. Joe Biden has stepped aside as
the twenty twenty four Democratic nominee. He's not going to be running anymore.

(21:22):
It's over. Kamala Harris has beenendorsed by Joe Biden. That happened at
one forty five pm on the Eastcoast, so ten forty five our time,
and that's a huge story. Coveringthat. Obviously, everybody is,
everybody's talking about it. Everybody's gottheir own opinion. What's going on.
Then we've got the l Sedo fire. I think they're calling that the Eagle

(21:42):
Fire, and he told me theEagle Fire, and that is off the
fifteen freeway zero percent contained about threehundred and forty acres. Keep an eye
on that for people out there, for people that don't know where the Eagle
Fire is. Essentially, if youwere in Santa Anna and you went directly

(22:03):
east, you'd run into it.Just south of Corona and in the Riverside
area, Riverside Marina Valley are sowe're covering that. And then there was
an earthquake off of Pacific Peninsula thereand a three point five earthquake. Not
a big story in La Bute whenyour house is moving already without the earthquake,

(22:23):
big story, big, big story. All right. We got some
talkbacks as well. Everybody wants totalk about this, you can do that.
You can go on on our websiteand hit the red button and leave
us a message. And we pickedthose up and we'll play a few of
those in a little bit. Wehave the passing of the torch to Kamala
Harris. Let's find out what's goingon here with the Polsters and what that

(22:47):
means for Donald Trump and the wholerun. So big dog, what a
big difference. Trump's not passing thetorch. He is the oldest. He
is now the oldest major party nomineefor president in history. Now Biden is
Terry Moran with ABC News in history. Now is Biden as stepdad. And
that is significant. Look, rightafter the convention, we went out on

(23:10):
the road for a couple of days. We talked to our voters in Wisconsin,
in Michigan, in Pennsylvania, thosethree swing states. And one thing
that won't surprise you or anyone who'spaying attention, is that the vast majority
of people we talked to confirmed Democrats, confirmed Republicans, independents, undecided.
We're not happy with Trump versus Biden. They weren't happy with a rerun.

(23:32):
They weren't happy with the candidates andthe choice that they had. And now
they've got to they will they willhave a different choice. And if it's
Kamala Harris, it is that generationalchoice you're talking to, not in the
number two spot, in the numberone spot. And Americans, they've been
telling posters this for a while. They yearn for a new kind of politics,

(23:55):
and you got it in Kamala Harris. All of a sudden, Donald
Trump looks like the man from yesterday. Trump Ism and the Maga movement seemed
very twenty teens in some ways. And Kamala Harris has an opportunity to say
this is the way forward and sherepresents it generational. Is she is a
generation younger. By the way, this Terry Moran, he has got to

(24:17):
have heard the term Maga movement inhis life. That's all it's been ever
pronounced maga, and he voted it. All of a sudden, Donald Trump
looks like the man from yesterday.Trump Ism and the Maga movement seemed very
foch. Maga movement, Maga trumpIsm and the Maga movement seemed very twenty
teams in some ways. And KamalaHarris has an opportunity to say this is

(24:41):
the way forward and she represents itgenerationally. She is a generation younger than
Donald Trump. And there's no questionthat people will pay attention to that.
And I think that what you sensefrom voters is this was the campaign that
nobody wanted. It was a rehabshof in many ways, are twenty sixteen

(25:02):
that all seems long ago. Nowwe're entering a different chapter in American politics,
and that could help Kamala Harris becausepeople want a different chapter. There
you go, All right, TerryMoran, Now, how will this affect
Donald Trump and his approach? Becausenow they have to switch everything from Joe
Biden to Kamala Harris. And youknow they're all sitting in a room right

(25:25):
now figuring out how to do that. All right, hit the talkback button.
We'll take your we'll take your voicemails, whatever you call those things,
your talkbacks. Because everybody's talking aboutthis. Everybody has an opinion. Everybody
wants to share it. I've gottenone hundred texts from people who, most
of them don't know anything more thanI do or you do, and yet
everybody is an armshair quarterback. Nowon what's happening with our politics? All

(25:52):
right, we're gonna be here tillall until six o'clock and then at six
o'clock. What are we doing atsix? Is Moe Kelly coming on?
At six? I'm unaware, Butat four o'clock I know Mo's coming on
with us. So at four o'clockwe'll talk to Mo Kelly. I'm sure
he's got a ton of opinions, and we'll get his opinion and take on
what's going on. We talked toGinger Gibson, the senior Washington editor at

(26:15):
NBC News, and so that wasa big deal. If you want to
go back and listen to that.It was shortly after the three o'clock hour.
And then we also had the earthquakeas well. So we got the
earthquake, we got the fire burningout there, the Eagle Fire, which
is zero percent contained out there inthe Riverside area, and we've got Joe
Biden. We've got a lot ofnews to cover, So stick with us
here on KFI. You're listening toTim Conway Junior on demand from KFI AM

(26:40):
six forty AM six forty It's ConwayShow. Joe Biden has stepped aside.
He endorsed Kamala Harris, so heis not going to be running anymore.
That's the end of his political career, and I think that's probably something he's
going to look forward to, standinghome on the beach, not having to
worry about running the entire world. He's obviously getting older, and my dad

(27:03):
went through that. Maybe your dador your grandfather went through the same thing.
And as they get older. Mydad was almost in the exact same
position that Joe Biden was almost inthe exact same age. And my dad's
job every day was to wake up, have breakfast, watch a little TV,
have lunch, back to the TV, dinner, a little bit TV

(27:26):
bed. That's it. That wasa day. And sometimes he had a
struggle with that day. But JoeBiden wakes up and all the world's problems
are on his chest when he wakesup, and they don't get easier.
His schedule has nine hundred different eventsevery day and that wears on you.

(27:48):
So it was destroying him, rippinghim apart, and so he decided to
step aside and endorse Kamala Harris. So that's a big story. Following that,
the earthquake that happened off of thePacific Peninsula three point five earthquake on
the Richter scale, we don't reallytalk about three point five, but in
an area where home is already movinganyway, it's big store, big story.

(28:12):
And then we also have the EagleFire for people I know KFI is
a huge audience in the Illin Empire, Corona and you know Marino Valley,
riverside, and that fire is burningsouth of Corona. It's called Eagle Fire.
It's about three hundred and thirty threeand forty acres zero percent contained.

(28:32):
We'll keep an eye on that becausewell you need to know. Van Jones,
who was on I believe he's stillwith CNM, talked about Joe Biden
stepping aside. Let's see what VanJones had to say about Joe Biden.
Joe Biden's body may not be asstrong as it used to be, as
language skills may not be as sharpas it used to be. His heart
is as big as ever. Hisheart is as big and as true and

(28:56):
as strong. And this is thisby the way, he doesn't mean that
physically. I mean, you know, uh, metaphorically that his heart is
big. It's not yet another conditionthat he has. His heart is as
big as ever. His heart isas big and as true and as strong.
And this is this is the differencebetween a politician and a leader.

(29:21):
Uh. He made a selfless decisionand people who are heartbroken, even people
who are pushing for this to happen. It's kind of like like when when
you're when your grandpa you got totake the keys, Yeah, and everybody
you gotta take his keys. Yougotta take his keys, you gotta and
and and he he he, Andhe's fighting and he's fighting. Everybody so
frustrated. And then you finally, like a card starting up and and and
he he he And he's fighting andhe's fighting. Everybody so frustrated, and

(29:44):
then you finally get the keys backand then you just cry because this is
somebody that you love. This issomebody that you care about. This is
somebody who was there for This issomebody you wouldn't be here without. Okay,
the reason why Van Jones is gettingemotional here Van Jones worked for Joe
Biden for many, many years andhe knows him very well, knows him

(30:06):
very very on a very personal level. So I get it, man,
I get it. People are emotionalover this, and especially when you've worked
so closely with him like Van Joneshas, because this is somebody that you
love, This is somebody that youcare about. This is somebody who was
there for, somebody you wouldn't behere without him, and you had to
take something from him. Now,this is not Look, this is politics.

(30:26):
It's politics, but this is ahuman moment for one of the great
humans in America. This is ahuge moment for him, for his family,
for all of us who love him, for all of us who wanted
him to get across the finish line. But if you're a young person watching
this, this is leadership. Thisis patriotism. This is what it means

(30:47):
to put the country first, andput the party first, and put the
cost first when your arm gets tired, to let somebody else finish pitching the
game. That's what Joe Biden hasdone, and he's done that for all
of us. And so I justwant to say, I don't know who's
going to be the VP, thenon VP. I don't know anything about
politics. I just know that Ilove this man. I care about this
man. It was painful every dayto sit up here and talk about him

(31:07):
like he's just a you know, some problem for the party. Way till
we get to the convention, you'regonna see people crying, standing, screaming,
cheering. He may not get achance to talk for ten minutes.
We finally get a chance to putour arm around this guy. He did
the right thing for this country,he did the right thing for this party.
All this are going to be inthis situation someday, and I hope
that we take a moment to honorthis man and to love this man.

(31:29):
I love Joe Biden. I appreciatewhat he's done, and a lot of
people are heartbroken today. Even ifit's the right thing, it's still just
horrible. Okay, that was great, right, that was a very human
moment in politics. You don't normallyget that on either side, you know,
where somebody is emotional over somebody's politicalcareer who isn't a family member.
But I thought that was great, you know, and I'm glad that,

(31:51):
bet. I think that's what thiscountry needs more of, is to humanize,
you know, these guys, thesemen and women. It's not,
you know, just a job. It's not, you know, you know,
just an occupation or a position thatyou hold for a while as a
human being, as a dad,as a grandfather, and you know,
and it's a big deal for thatto be taken from you. It's his

(32:14):
whole life, his entire life, and it was taken from him by people
that didn't think that he could hecould finish. So we'll see what happens
if he resigns or if he staysuntil January, but he's not going to
get a second term. And andhe's evidently, you know, in talking

(32:37):
to his family, his inner circlegot very small towards the end. It
was just his son Hunter Biden andhis wife Jill Biden at the end.
And it's got to be a veryemotional thing when he finally, you know,
they're convincing him to step aside, that's the right thing for him,
and he says no a million times, and then he finally takes a deep

(32:58):
breath and says, Okay, I'llsay beside. That's a big deal,
big big deal. And it's abig deal for a guy who has already
beat Donald Trump once. He's theonly man in the world who's beaten Donald
Trump, the only guy in theentire world. There's one that's it.

(33:20):
And to set aside, because he'sgot good days and bad days, you
know, as your dad or grandfather, you know, was falling apart.
The George Carlin used to say, eighties to nineties is not a good decade
for men, and man, washe right. He was right. Men
do not do well from eighty toninety. They fall apart. And for

(33:44):
him to have to relinquish the presidencyto somebody else, he's made it to
the pinnacle. He's made to thetop. He's the top guy in the
world. You know, the planes, you know, the dinners, the
traveling, the prestige, the security, the honor that this all comes with.

(34:04):
People you know, show up andby the thousands to see you.
And he gave it all up.He gave it up, and he was
pressured to doing so, but hefinally had to make that decision. Only
one person was going to make thatdecision, and it was him, and
he finally said, okay, Igive up. I give up. And
then he quickly endorsed Kamala Harris. And and we'll see where that happened.
What happens whether she's going to bethe nominee or not. But I have

(34:29):
a feeling that he did that onpurpose. He said, okay, you
want me to step aside, lether run, and if she loses,
he's going to be He's going tohave the biggest I told you so to
the nation when if the Democrats loseto Donald Trump in November, he's going
to say I told you so,because he beat Donald Trump once and he's

(34:52):
the only guy to do it,only guy to do it. All right,
keep an eye on the uh,there's an earthquake right around about almost
fifty minutes ago at around three nine, Yeah, about three o nine,
it was an earthquake Pacific Peninsula threepoint five earthquake. Again, not a
big deal, but that land's alreadymoving anyway. If you live out there,

(35:13):
it's a huge deal. It's ahuge deal. Following that story,
also the earth the fire that's burningthey're calling it the Eagle Fire south of
Corona, and that's burned about threehundred and forty acres, zero percent contained.
And we have a big audience thatlives out in Corona and in that
area, so we are keep aneye on for you. We got three
