It's KFI AM six forty and you'relistening to the Conway Show on demand on
the iHeartRadio app KFI AM six forty. It is Conway Show. We are
following all the news coming out ofWashington, d C. Where Joe Biden
has stepped aside and endorsed Kamala Harris. So that's a major, major news

(00:23):
story. Two major news stories inlast eight days. Donald Trump getting shot
in the head a week ago yesterday, and then eight days later, Joe
Biden bails out. Man, ohMan, what a difference eight days make.
The White House staff was shocked, and let's find out what's going on

(00:45):
with the White House staff. Theyhad no idea. They've been told over
and over and over from Joe Bidenand Joe Biden that they were he was
staying in the race. And youknow that's their livelihood. You know,
come January, they're going to haveto be looking for another job if whoever
runs for the Democrats doesn't win.So the White House staff and the aids

(01:08):
taken by surprise with the announcement atone five, when Joe Biden released a
letter saying that he's out. He'sout. It is absolutely remarkable how all
of this played out. I'm toldthat senior campaign staff and aids did not
find out about the president's decision untilone minute before it went out public.

(01:30):
I'm also told by several sources thata top Biden advisor held a call with
all of the staff this afternoon andtold them that they were not wrong to
believe that President Biden was in thisrace. The message from the President as
early as last night to his staffwas that he is staying in It is
full speed ahead. She said thatthis is a decision that the President himself
only came to very very late beforethe actual announcement went public. She also

(01:53):
told the staff that now they needto put their head down, they need
to stay focused, and she saidthey need to protect Vice President Harris,
and that is where all eyes aregoing to be in the coming days.
I am told by a senior administrationofficial that President Biden is expected to meet
with Israeli Prime Minister and Yahoo thiscoming week, and that Vice President Harris
is as well. Every move thatthe Vice President makes her influence on the

(02:15):
global stage as well any campaign stopsshe makes. That's where the microscope is
really going to be under and anotherkey point. As all of this is
playing out since we last spoke, there's been a pretty significant development when it
comes to the donor class. Soa donor I had spoken to earlier said
that so many of them were indisagreement about the best way to move forward,
that a lot of them did notwant to see a coronation a Vice

(02:38):
President Harris. They wanted to seesome sort of mini primary play out in
a very expedited fashion. Well, now, since then, you've had powerful
senators and congress people. You've alsohad the Congressional Black Caucus. You have
had a major major names, includingthe Clintons, come out and say they
are all backing Vice President Harris.Since those developments, I'm told that donors
are now quickly coalescing on Vice PresidentHarris. And we're also learning that more

(03:02):
donors are asking about how they canpitch in, how they can give more
to Vice President Harris. So youare seeing a big shift just in the
last several minutes and in the lasthour. Wow, unbelievable. All right,
Let's see what Nancy Pelosi had tosay and her statement with regards to
a Joe Biden. In a statementpraising President Biden, saying He's a patriotic

(03:23):
American who has always put our countryfirst. His legacy of vision, values,
and leadership makes in one of themost consequential presidents in American history.
She says, with love and gratitudeto President Biden for always believing in the
promise of America and giving people theopportunity to reach there for fulfillment. Excuse
me, Nancy Pelosi, though notmentioning Kamala Harris at all in her statement.

(03:45):
All right, let's go to whatBill and Hillary Clinton and their statement.
We have a statement now from formerPresident Clinton and Secretary Clinton praising President
Biden. No surprise there, Butthe Clinton's go on to say that they
say that President Biden has cap theextraordinary career of service with a presidency that
has lived in America out of anunprecedented pandemic, created millions of new jobs,

(04:06):
rebuilt a battered economy, and hegoes on and on and on,
and then the clinton say, weare honored to join the President in endorsing
Vice President Harris and will do whateverwe can to support her, saying now
is the time to support Kamala Harrisand fight with everything we've got to elect
her concluding by saying America's future dependson it. Okay, And then JD.

(04:26):
Vance also had a statement He's runningwith Donald Trump. He's the vice
presidential nominee of the Republican ticket.Yes, it's a relatively short statement,
perfectly encapsulates how Republicans will deal withKamala Harris on the assumption that she becomes
the replacement at the top of theticket. So this is JD. Vance.
I'll just give you part of it. He starts by saying that President

(04:51):
Biden was the worst, has beenthe worst president of his lifetime, and
Kamala Harris has been right by hisside every step of the way. So
that is what they'll say. Anythingyou could attack Joe Biden for, you
can now attack Kamala Harris for.The statement goes on to accuse Kamala Harris

(05:13):
of quote covering up Joe Biden's mentalcapacity, saddling the nation with a president
who can't do the job. That'sthe statement in the final line. And
this is the reaction you're hearing fromRepublicans across the board. And now you
are hearing from JD. Vance.President Trump and I are ready to save
America. Whoever's at the top ofthe Democratic ticket. Bring it on.

(05:38):
They make no mistake. The Trumpcampaign had been preparing to run against Joe
Biden. They were hoping to runagainst Joe Biden. They were trying to
intimidate Democrats from pushing forward with thiseffort to replace Joe Biden by saying there
would be legal challenges if there wasan effort to to make a change after

(06:00):
the primaries. But they are nowpivoting to a race that they expect that
they will now have against Coamwala Harris. All Right, it just keeps changing,
and with every single hour we getmore and more information. And again
Joe Manchim is one of the bigstories where he is a Democrat out of

(06:23):
West Virginia. He was a Democratfor a long long time. He became
an independent, wasn't thrilled with thedirection of the Democratic Party, became an
independent, and now might go backto register or re registering as a Democrat
to run for president of the UnitedStates. So there's a lot. There's
literally, I mean, if yougo on YouTube or you know, or

(06:45):
any of the social media I shouldsay x or you know, Instagram,
whatever. Every single time you refresh, there are more rumors and more stories
and more craziness coming up, sowe're following that story. We got uh
news on the multiple fires burning inRiverside County as well. At least one
home was consumed by flames in Riverside. Multiple brush fires broke out in the

(07:11):
Inland Empire on Sunday, and oKFIhas a huge audience in the Inland Empire,
charring hundreds of acres, triggering someevacuation orders and threatening homes. The
fires are burning in Riverside in theCorona area San Bernardino National Forest and at
least one house burning in Riverside andthe Riverside blaze called the how how Arden

(07:33):
how A h A w R dN how Arden fire? How are you
fire reported just at one pm andevacuations were being ordered in the area as
well of the Eagle Crest and GoldenHills area. All right, so keep
an eye on that. Also, there was an earthquake at three o nine

(07:55):
in the Pacific Peninsula area. Thatis a big story. Those homes are
already moving because of the water thelandslide since the rains over the last two
years, and a lot of houses, a lot of we lost a big
major church out there. The roadsare moving, there's a new beach being
created out there because of all theland moving. And then they got hit

(08:16):
with an earthquake. So that's abig story if you live out there as
well. Lots of news going on. You got the right station for it.
It's KFI. It's Conway. I'mhere on a Sunday to cover all
the news, and then right backtomorrow again at four pm. Chris Merrill's
coming up at six pm and aboutforty five minutes from now and he will
take you for a couple at leastthree hours. We're live on KFI AM

(08:39):
at six forty. You're listening toTim Conway Junior on demand from KFI AM
six forty. KFI AM six forty. It's Conway Show Sunday programming. Note
Studio six forty, which is SteveGregory's new show, has been moved to
eight pm tonight, So eight o'clockto night Steve Gregory in Studio six forty.

(09:05):
That will be tonight. Look atthe brushfire. There's a lot of
smoke coming out of that brushfire man. It's on the it's near the ninety
one, south of the ninety one, and there's actually three fires out there,
so we're keeping an eye on those. One home has been burned,
but a lot of smoke there.I think they're drawing water out of the
Lake Matthews there with those fixed wingtankers and trying to put these fires out.

(09:31):
But there are three fires there rightin Riverside along the fifteen south of
the ninety one, and hopefully theyput that out. Yeah, the fixed
wing aircraft are pulling water out ofLake Matthew or Matthews into that fire Woodcrest
area, Marina Valley, Riverside,Corona, Mari Loma, that whole area.

(09:56):
All right, So we got thatnews, we got a small earthquake
in off the Pacific Peninsula and thenthe major earthquake in Washington, d C.
Joe Biden dropping out of the race. If you're listening to KFI this
morning, and I hope you wereright, I think you were. You
probably heard Dean Sharp break that news. And maybe you'll remember where you were

(10:18):
when you heard Dean Sharp, whowas going to suspend his show and go
to news, talking about Joe Biden. If you missed it, it sounded
exactly like this. It is avery very interesting day in the history of
the United States. I am hereto make this announcement to you. We
are transitioning our conversation to the breakingnews that President Joe Biden has decided to

(10:46):
withdraw from running for a second term. All right. That was this morning
around ten forty five, ten fiftyup until about people started getting the news
around ten forty five until about elevenfifteen that half hour. I think most
people who are in touch or havea news source, or have friends,

(11:07):
I think picked up on that, and a lot of times that's what you
do. You get a text froma friend who lays that news on you.
I get it all the time. You know, a friend will text
me saying, hey, Chase onnine, Chase on four or whatever.
And that's I think how everyone getsnews nowadays is somebody breaks it to you.
Somebody is the first one to say, hey, you're not going to

(11:28):
believe this, and then they laythat story on you. So Dean Sharp
was on the air when that happenedthis morning, right here on kfive.
Joe Manchim, the Senator from WestVirginia. That was the rumor going around
about an hour ago that he wasgoing to reregister from an independent. As
it was going to reregister as aDemocrat, go back to registering as a

(11:48):
Democrat, I should say, andrun for president of the United States against
Donald Trump. And there seems tobe some confirmation on that. Is it
clear tonight that she has the nomination? Who else may jump in? We're
looking at a Democratic Party that's convulsionTonight. Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia,

(12:09):
who just registered as an independent,a longtime centrist Democrat. CBS News
has now learned he is considering reregistering as a member of the Democratic Party
to consider standing for the Democratic presidentialnomination, in effect challenging Vice President Harris
for that nomination. He has notmade a final decision based on our conversations

(12:30):
with people close to him, buthe is considerate tonight. He's talking to
donors, he's talking to party officials. His consideration underscores how some Democrats are
nervous about Vice President Harris's ability tobeat former President Donald Trump, who I
just spoke with about an hour ortwo ago. He told CBS News that
he's prepared to have a political onslaughtagainst Vice President Harris or whomever emerges as

(12:54):
the nominee. I asked him,are you ready to debate Vice President Harris.
He says, not at all, because I'm not even sure going to
be running against her. Let's seewhat happens. Wow, man, do
things move quickly? Very quickly?Around here? We got some talkbacks?
I know people like talkbacks. Iget that, all right, let's play
a few of them. Here wego, DG wrong with these talkbags?

(13:16):
What battles? Has Kamala Harris beentested at the Battle at the border?
She failed? So far? Thereyou go, there's one. Here's another
one. Hey Joe, that's TimBut I think you meant Joe by no,
okay, whatever, Hey Joe,Joe. Biden has to endorse Kamala
Harris because of the money in thewar chest. That money can only be

(13:39):
spent on a Biden Harris campaign, and she's half that ticket, so she
can use the money if somebody elsegets nominated. That money, from my
understanding, has to be given backfor the donors. Then audio in the
background, guys talking from an aquariumor something, and then we another last

(14:00):
one. Here we go, HeyTimmy, Hey, now he Timmy,
last eight days have been a realding do wrong with you? That guy's
right, man? That guy getsthe star he gets my favorite, he
gets my favorite talk bag ding Doand then Andrew Caravella. That's a smart
guy. He's got something interesting tosay. You think that Joe Biden is

(14:20):
going to pardon his son Hunter Biden, Well, no, As a as
a news journalist, you can't sayno, but I will put it out
there to engage your audience. Doeshe do it? Right? Does he
pardon him? I think he does, after going on the record, you
know, on television saying he willnot pardon Hunter. Does he do it?
That's right? I think he does. He's gonna go off and doo

(14:41):
oblivion anyway, So what does hecare what people think about him? I
think he pardons Hunter Biden, andif he doesn't, I think whoever gets
in there will pardon Hunter Biden, whether it's a Democrat or Republican, and
just want to get the Biden administrationand the Biden crew off the news.
And that's how you quickly do it, you know, because even if Trump

(15:03):
is president, I think he's goingto pardon Biden's kid, Hunter Biden,
because that would look bad. Youknow, Trump's president and Biden's kids going
to prison for something that millions ofpeople lie on the application to buy a
firearm. They're pretty strict when youbuy a firearm. And I imagine there
are people listening right now who've donethe same thing. They bist on that

(15:26):
forum as well. All Right, lots going on tonight. Chris Merrill starts
at six pm and that at eightpm Studio six forty, that brand new
show of Steve Gregory's. It's astudent discussion and so you know people like
students. All right, relyve onKFI AM six forty. You're listening to
Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFIAM six forty AM six forty. It's

(15:50):
Conway Show. Just checking my phonefor latest details from social media and other
news sources, including kfi's news room. Joe Biden has stepped aside and he
will be leaving office one way oranother. He will not be running again.
He will not be fulfilling a secondterm. He endorsed Kamala Harris.

(16:12):
She, however, is probably infor a fight for that position from other
Democrats. And the decision was athey say, a presidential decision, which
makes sense. But how did hecome to that decision, because as of
yesterday he was still saying no,I'm in it to win it. We're

(16:33):
going to fight all the way.So what happened, Let's find out you.
This was in the minds of inthe words of his closest advisors are
quote presidential decision. That's how heframes a lot of things in his presidency.
And he did it very much alone. Yes, he conferred with some
of his family members and advisors, but he has been in isolation in his
home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. He has been exhausted in recent days.

(16:55):
He has been monitoring the polls, including one from the Detroit Free Press.
To this all as he's been coughingall weekend alone has been enormous on his
shoulders. He has felt wounded attimes from how fellow Democrats, including from
the Obama Biden administration, have talkedabout him publicly base, but he kept
this decision extremely close. His sonHunter reportedly in California, not in Rehobeth

(17:22):
Beach, Delaware. This weekend. He's talking to his sister Valerie, talking
of course to the first Lady,Joe Biden, and they have all said
to him in recent days, youdo what's best for you. This is
your decision to make, and hehas been alone because of COVID, not
because he wants to be alone. He's actually been in a pretty salty mood.
I've been told because of COVID,and he doesn't have the imagine how

(17:45):
pissed he is. He's got COVID. He's nine hundred years old. He's
coughing, his voice is hoarse, and people are yelling at him to quit.
It's the only truth. Love he'sever had in his life is the
politics. And he became President ofthe United States, the top guy,

(18:06):
and he's isolated because of COVID andjust sitting there angry as hell. I
get it, man, I getit, probably throwing crap around, the
ability to use his phone as muchor have the kind of meetings he wants
to have. But there have beensome key people who have really helped him
with this decision to think it through. Mike Donalan, who goes back decades
with him, one of his longtimetrusted advisors. They always say Donalan is

(18:30):
like a parish priest. He neverspeaks. He has this kind of kind
demeanor. He almost never speaks inmeetings. He only speaks to Biden.
He has that kind of relationship.Doesn't speak to other advisors because it could
trickle out. President Biden, I'mtold by his closest advisors, has been
angry about the leaks about anger towardshim, about his electability. He has
also made haars needs to be fullysupported, and they're watching in the coming

(18:53):
days, not only does President Bidenaddress the country, but will she address
the country in some capacity. Nowit's unusual for a vice president to have
a national address, but she couldmake some sort of major speech that's not
formal with the Office of the VicePresidency, but a political speech to reintroduce
herself to the country. And aslate as yesterday evening, some of the

(19:15):
people closest to Biden still believe thedecision was fluid, was being active,
that this is something that came togetherwith three or four people in the last
six to twelve hours, and thatI can confirm having reached out to some
of the folks who even this morning, like Cedric Richmond on our air on
Face the Nation this morning, comingout and backing Joe Biden, saying he

(19:36):
is staying in this rut. Yeah. He sent out some of his top
advisors to do the morning Sunday morningshows and they all said he's staying in
all of them, and then literallytwo hours later he's out race. I've
reached out to others from the campaignwho said they were also surprised because they
went out in fight mode this morning, saying he's dedicated, he's not giving

(19:56):
up. It was news to themwhen this was an You know, when
it comes to the Vice President Nora, it's important to remember this isn't the
first time the question has been asked, is she ready? This was an
eighty one year old president. Everysingle interview Kamala Harris has done, she's
been asked, are you ready?Because she was a heartbeat away, and
that meant something for an eighty oneyear old president. I was just looking

(20:18):
at my last interview with her andshe said, yes, I am if
necessary, but Joe Biden's going tobe fine. That was last September.
That's how long we've been talking aboutJoe Biden's age as a factor in this
election and a worry for the electorate. But during the Democratic primary process we
work. You know, there's goingto be a lot said about that on
because this is so late, it'sright before the Democratic National Convention, and

(20:42):
there's going to be a lot ofthat handwringing of why didn't we do this
earlier? Why did we prop thisguy up so long? Everybody knew he
was done everybody start of fact,About like three weeks ago, Mark Thompson
was on with us. It wasa Tuesday with Mark Thompson, and I

(21:03):
said, I really feel bad forthis Joe Biden man. His health has
really gone south. And Mark said, yeah, well, Trump is in
the same shape. And I said, really, I don't know if that's
true or not. He said itis. Trump is in the exact same
shape as Joe Biden. And Ithought, okay, all right, all
right, all right. I didn'targue with him. He's a friend of
mine, but obviously he's wrong. And maybe he just wasn't watching the same

(21:27):
TV stations or the same websites thatI was watching. Maybe he missed it,
that's possible, but a lot ofpeople missed it. A lot of
people missed it. And the samething happened with Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The
same thing happened. She stayed toolong, stayed too long, and this
is going to creep up and hurtthem potentially again. I mean, that

(21:49):
cost them a lifetime Supreme Court nomineea lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court because
she stayed too long. And againhe stayed too long. So there's been
a lot of people questioning in thefuture. As soon as we know there's
a problem, we got to makea move, like the Dodgers. The

(22:11):
Dodgers have a policy in their playerpersonnel they like to trade a player a
year too early rather than a yeartoo late. That's always been their policy.
I don't know if it still is, but it was for a long
time in the seventies and eighties andnineties, and that's their policy. Trade
a player a year too early, then trade them a year too late.
And it seems late for what's goingon, very late, all right,

(22:34):
But we're only going to have allthis information. Man. On KFI,
we're covering it all. And we'realso looking at the fires in Riverside.
We're covering that as well, andthe small earthquake off of the Pacific Peninsula
out there, and those houses alreadystarting to move, so even a three
point five earthquake is a big dealout there. We got you all covered
here on KFI. You're listening toTim Conway Junior on demand from KFI Am

(23:00):
Am six forty. It's con myshow. Chris Merrill's coming in soon at
six o'clock, about nine minutes fromnow. What a day. If it
was just the fires, it wasjust the earthquake, if it was just
Joe Biden. Those are all threebig stories. The biggest story obviously Joe
Biden stepping aside, the end ofhis political career, the beginning perhaps of

(23:23):
Kamila Harris's new career. That's possible, but that's going to be challenged by
a lot of people, a lotof people, and that's going to be
very difficult to do. The moneyis with Harris. Joe Manchin wants back
in. There's a lot of peopleon the middle center right of that Democratic

(23:45):
Party that want to taste of it, want a piece of it, and
they there's gonna be a huge battle, major battle going on between now and
November fifth, and some states startvoting in six weeks, you know,
the beginning of September. So whoknows. RFK is running for president as

(24:07):
well. He held a news conferenceafter Biden dropped out. Find out what
he has to say. I wantto begin by commending President Biden for a
career in public service, for along long career and representing and serving our
country, and for his handling ofthe many difficulties and challenges, personal challenges

(24:32):
and tragedies that he suffered during hislife with so much admirable conduct and the
empathy that he derived from those experiencesthat he was always proficient at showing to
the rest of us. I wantto add that a year ago, a

(24:56):
little over a year ago, whenI entered this race, predicted that President
Biden suffered from a degenerative condition thatwas not going to improve, and that
it wouldn't make it impossible for himto govern effectively. A year and a
half ago, he was talking aboutthat publicly. A year and a half
the reaction of the the endacy tothat obvious condition was to hide it from

(25:21):
the American public and to use theirpower of the Democratic Party nomination process to
make sure that nobody could compete withPresident Biden in a way that would expose
his deficiencies. And as a result, we are where we are today,

(25:41):
which is in a periative crisis, and we have two crazies and they both
derive from the same condition, andthat condition is the corporate emergence of the
domination of corporate power of American democracyto accelerate it, beginning in twenty ten

(26:02):
with the Citizens United case that unleashedthe tsunami of corporate money into the American
political process. And both parties arenow captured by that corporate money, and
they've lost any kind of authentic connectionto the American people or to the populist
goals of the Republican of democracy. On the Republican side, President Biden promised

(26:25):
the last time around that he wasgoing to drain the swamp, but instead
he came in and he appointed apharmaceutical lobbyists and CEO to run HHS,
Verizon lobbyists to run the FCC,a Goldman Sachs CEO to run the Treasury

(26:48):
Department, an oil lobbyist to runthe Interior Department, a coal lobbyist to
run the Environmental Protection Agency, andso on. And only today President Trump
has announced that in his new administration, should he win this election, that

(27:11):
Jamie Diamond will be his choice asCommerce Secretary, and that Larry flink Fig,
the director of Black Rock, willrun the Treasury Department. This is
the swamp. These are swamp creatures, and and his pick as Vice president.
Do you think that's that's the firsttime they've been described. I mean,

(27:33):
these high level guys who run thesemajor, major corporations, and some
guy RFKR Junior running for president describeshim as these are swamp creatures. These
are swamp creatures. Imagine that youwork your entire ass off to run one
of these major corporations. You finallyget the big salary. You're making thirty
million dollars a year. Yeah, you got a big, huge house,

(27:56):
you got a big pool money, more money than you could have spend.
Private jets, big fancy meals, vacations, meeting with high level people around
the world, and then you're calledthese are swamp creatures. These are swamp
creatures. That's a great man.One of the that's one of the great

(28:18):
things about this country is you canmake it all the way to the top
and then somebody can just turn around, who's running for president, These are
swamp creacher just label you a swampcreature, and and his pick as vice
president is that another one. Theseare swamp creatures. A swamp creature is
a salute to the CIA and theintelligence community and to the military internal complex.

(28:44):
And these are swamp creatures. Swampcreatures of their gravy train is going
to continue. And President Trump hasa connection to the American people, a
populous connection, but in many waysit's the same fraudulent connection. And what
are they called. These are swampcreatures. These are swamp creatures that we

(29:07):
saw with the DNZ over the pastyear, concealing the real purpose of their
objectives, which was to give usa president that represents corporate interests rather than
the interest in the American public. We've seen two presidents who aren't really addressing

(29:27):
any of the issues that a erathat are critical to our country we have.
If you look at President Biden andPresident Trump, you can look at
them and say, these are verydifferent people. Their dispositions are different,
their personalities are different. Yeah, but ultimately these are swamp creachings. Yeah,

(29:48):
swamp creatures. All right, ChrisMerrill's up next. I'll be on
tomorrow at four o'clock and then soChris Merril's next, and then at eight
pm tonight Studio six forty with SteveGregory. Move to eight pm tonight.
