Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's k if I am sixty and you're listening to
the Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app. If
I af A sixty, it is the Conway Show. Dodgers win.
(00:21):
Oh man, what a great night at the Conway House
watching the Dodger game. I got too nervous at one
point and I had to get in the car and
go listen to Rick Monday and listen to about four
or five innings, driving around listening to Rick Monday, sitting
in them line a Jack in the box and Glendale
listening to Rick Monday. Nothing has changed in thirty years,
(00:46):
forty years. All right, let's talk to Alex Stone. Alex Stone,
are you a Dodger fan?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Bub?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Not quite one?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Sure?
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Are you a little bit worried after the Mets on
the board?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Absolutely, You're always worried.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
Yeah, you know, it's a wording from Green Burrito while
you were over Oh no, that would be uh Carl's junior.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, you know. At one point I was watching the
line move as the Dodgers got closer and closer to
winning it, and with six outs left, it wasn't inconceivable
that the Mets could come back and win the Mets
were eighty to one to win the World Series, and
about a lot of people dropped, you know, five six
bucks on it, ten bucks, twenty bucks whatever. Eighty to one.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
Yeah, well, I mean at the very end. I mean
there was obviously no chance here. But you could see
the relief on you know, you know, Dave Roberts everybody else.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
He was like, I don't care what happens for a lifesaver.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
For Dave Roberts. Yeah, you know, Dave Roberts needed this
World Series. He doesn't have to win it, but he
needed to get in it. He needed to get in it.
And now we are or not they are. I hate
that that we are crap they are in it. I'm
not any there.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
I didn't doing it.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Looks great out there running around with your jack and
the box Burger around the diamond.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
That's right, man. Those guys at the Glendale Jack in
the box they know how to do it, all right.
So we're here to talk about this poor Liam Paine,
his untimely death. I guess is he either jumped or
fell off the third balcony. It was a very expensive
hotel or motel in Argentina. Have they what they find
in this guy's system.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Yeah, so he had a lot of stuff in his system.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
And this has been a really big deal for fans
of one direction that there is a generation that this
is kind of like a beetle dye for a younger generation.
And now huge pile of flowers and candles outside of
that hotel. And so there's an autopsy that has been
partially completed and they're not totally done with it yet,
but they found twenty five injuries.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
On his body.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
All of them were consistent with the fall from the
third story balcony and kind of the story of where
it goes to what they found his body began with
the hotel manager calling police saying that they had a
celebrity there who was acting aggressively, appeared to be high
on drugs or was drunk, was a danger to himself.
They were worried about him. He was ripping up the
(02:57):
hotel room and was just running all over the breaking stuff.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
This was that called.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
In Buenos Aires, managers saying they needed police there immediately.
He was in the room and that there was a
balcony that they were worried about that he might go
over that balcony because he was running over place seven
minutes later police got there, he was already dead. They
found his body in the hotel courtyard and it was over.
So now they've done toxicology. It hasn't officially been released,
(03:25):
but sources tell us that what they found in his
body was something called pink cocaine, which is a recreational
drug that is a mix of methamphetamine ketamine MDMA cocaine
and crack cocaine on mixed together. For yeah, I mean,
you know, any one of those is bad, and you
had in the threat of a little bit of fentanyl
(03:45):
being in there as well. That we don't know if
they found that in his body, but it's going to
be deadly at that point. So he had talked about
his struggles. This isn't a huge surprise that he was
on drugs and maybe drunk as well. That he had
talked about that he had battled this for a long time,
that when he was in one direction, that they were
so big at one point that they could not leave
the hotel if they weren't going to their own concert,
(04:07):
and so they would come into a town because if
they went anywhere, the crowds would mob them. They couldn't
go out dinner, they couldn't do anything, so they would
just go when he was a young man alone in
a hotel room and that things went downhill from there.
He told a podcast this.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Of course was in the room Minibah. So at a
certain point I thought, well, I'm going to have a
party for one and that just seemed to carry on
throughout many years of my life.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
And he said he had constantly been trying to battle that,
and you see that in this case, he went back
down that road. But our sources say that there was
an aluminum pipe that was found in the hotel room
to ingest drugs his body. Tim is going to remain
in Argentina until they're totally done with the autopsy. But
they did find multiple traumas, internal external bleeding. There were
broken objects in the hotel room, and police have now
(04:50):
interviewed a hotel employee who may have sold him the drugs.
But nobody's been arrested, and they may never know if
he purposely jumped, if he you know, was in the rage,
accidentally went you know, running towards something and fell over.
Was he dancing on the railing, They don't know. They
may be able to throw cameras and will not figure
(05:10):
it out at some point, but right now they don't
know if it was intentional or not. But he was
so high on this stuff that they don't think that
he was in his right mind no matter how it
went down, that he was probably not totally there.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
So Alex tones with was with the ABC News. We're
talking about Liam Payne's death. I saw some young girls
in England and some young girls in Argentina who were inconsolable.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Yeah, as if.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Their mom or dad died.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Yeah, and his father has now gone there to mourn
his son from outside of the hotel. Well here listen,
these are the girls outside the hotel, singing his music.
And they've been gathering day and night out in front
of the pile of flowers and candles and singing.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Man, what a horrible, horrible incident. I heard one of
the New Direction kids. I don't know who I cancel
part of his tour. He didn't want to go on stage,
he couldn't handle it.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
Yeah, there have been others who knew him and say
he was really a great guy. That they've been heavily
impacted by it as well. And you think about how
many celebrities and this is the way not necessarily falling
off a balcony, but drugs being involved.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Sure, whether it be Michael Jackson or.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Matthew Perry or you know, there's always a slightly different ending,
whether it be prop a fall or a hot tub
or in this case, going over a balcony, but never
ends well.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
You know, they had a record amount of downloads after
his death. I think three hundred million. Wow, it's incredible.
But it's too bad that this kid was fighting all
these demons because he had a lot of things. You know,
he had a lot of talent, a lot of it,
and a lot on his plate. Man, he was worth
seventy million dollars.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I mean, I know money's not everything. Money can't buy
you love. I know you always say.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
That Simon Cowell find he was created by Simon col.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
It's it's really it's too bad. It's horrible. So they're
gonna are they gonna take his body back to England?
Is that where the service that has been playing?
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Yeah, back to the UK once it's released by the
I believe it's a federal prosecutor's office in Argentina. They've
they've got custody of him right now, and they they
hope that in the next week or so they'll get
done with the autopsy and then they'll release the bo When.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Something like this happens, do you guys send somebody to
ab to Argentina or use somebody down there.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
We've got stringers down there who work in that area.
If it's like Mexico City, We've got a bureau there,
and a bureau in London and in Hong Kong. But
down in Windows Service, I think we may have had
one at one point, but now we just have teams
that are down there.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I get it, Bunny. I appreciate you coming on. I
know you're not a major Dodger fan, but I feel you.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
Creepy creep am. Now, let's let's do this. Go Dodgers,
go Blue and Rockies too. Okay, all right, thanks.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Man, all right.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Alex Stone with ABC News, Liam Payne young kid too.
Ah Man, it's just a horrible, horrible, horrible deal. Good
looking kid, talented, he's a beautiful girlfriend, had a beautiful wive,
he's got a great son, he's got everything going for him,
and he just couldn't beat it. Just couldn't beat it, man.
(08:18):
I don't know. It's very tough to explain to kids,
you know that you can have everything you want in
the world, and you just can't handle it. Sad, very
very sad. All Right, the Dodgers won last night. I
watched it on TV. I imagine a lot of people did.
Ratings are going to be through the roof when it
comes to the Yankees. And the first game is going
(08:39):
to be at Dodger Stadium on Friday. Is the second
game Saturday? I believe the second game is Saturday. So
I will be a no show at the Morongo party
because I'm going to the baseball game. I'll be a
Dodgers stadium, So I have fun down there. Bring you know,
just yelled digging dog and wear a plaid shirt and
(09:02):
yelled Ding Dong Crozier and you'll be tom Are you
going me? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:08):
What?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Marongo? Maybe? Did you get a room? I was thinking about, Okay,
all right, you're going, Bellio's going You're going right? Bellio? Yes? Ye,
you have a tradition, right del Taco?
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Then Marongo? Yeah, and cheese fries all over you. You
will not let that go, will you?
Speaker 2 (09:32):
So?
Speaker 4 (09:33):
What and why did you have to be standing right.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
There when I pulled up? God, it was it. It
was the one time I went outside get a breath
of fresh air. Bellio pulls up the valet parking and
she then went to Taco Bello del Taco and had
that melt del Taco and had that cheese all over
her and gets out of the car and go, hey,
don't I got you get cheese on you? Picks it
(09:55):
off her shirt, eats it. That is mish my kind
of gas my kind of game. You shouldn't pick it
off somebody else's shirt and need it. Yeah, but man,
oh man, I wish I had a picture of that.
Wish I had a photo of that.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
I'm glad you do not, and then just.
Speaker 7 (10:11):
Sucks her fingers each time to make sure they're all
clean after it.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
We really got to get into that break and then
zipping up the vest and buzzing into Morongo. Balyo's here,
balyos here the vest is head and play the vest
is with us.
Speaker 8 (10:29):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
The Dodgers are going to the World Series. Last time
they hosted a World Series at Dodgers Stadium was nineteen
eighty eight. A lot of people remember that because of
the Kirk Gibson home run. Kirk Gibson home run Game one,
with two outs in the ninth hit a two run
homer to win that game for the Dodgers. I was
(10:56):
not there. Angel Martinez was there. I don't know anybody
else that was there. She's the only one I know
of all the people I know, she's the only one
who was there. And she left or was leaving when
that home run was hit. She was one of the
break lights, yep, to avoid traffic. She was getting her
ass out of there. So there you go. But the
(11:19):
last time they host it was nineteen eighty eight. Was
that twelve thirty six years ago? Thirty six years ago.
Speaker 9 (11:27):
Oh, guys were just up above the field because they're
saving it and preserving it for that first World Series
game as the Dodgers try to win their second World
Series in five years. But remember four years ago, it
wasn't here. It was in the bubble in Texas. So
they haven't hosted a World Series game since nineteen eighty eight.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
October sixteenth to be exact.
Speaker 9 (11:47):
So if you're counting at home, it will be twelve thousand,
nine hundred and nine days between World Series home game
That's a.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Lot for a team that tries to win the World
Series every year to go twelve thousands in days without
hosting it at home. That's a lot.
Speaker 9 (12:03):
Home games at Dodger Stadium. But right now it's reality scroud.
Speaker 6 (12:08):
They were ready to explode on the verge and making
it all happen.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
There was a batch of ball.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
A second too is good Santos was Alsues Dodgers Yankees
in the Fall Classio.
Speaker 9 (12:22):
With that, the Dodgers win the National League Pennant, celebrating
their twenty fifth National League championship in franchise history. But
now the work begins for an eighth World Series title
and the last time they played the Yankees in the
Fall Classic.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
All right, So I was in high school. It was
back in nineteen eighty one, eighty one.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
I remember that I was watching that on my parents'
television set. No, that was seventy seven, seventy seven and
seventy eight. I was watching on my mom and dad's
TV set eighty one. I was at my dad's because
my mom and dad said screw it to each other
and split, and so I went with my dad, which
pissed off my mom. Man, I watched it my dad's
house on his beautiful TV set.
Speaker 9 (13:01):
Obviously, none of the Dodger players were even alive back then,
but they are certainly embracing a fall classic by two
of baseball's iconic franchises.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
We've had a lot of.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
Guys that goes through a lot of injuries and a lot.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Of stuff happening, and everyone works, will works as hard
as they busts were gonna get back on the field.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Is a team effort. It was a group effort.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
It wasn't just one guy who was all of us.
And to me be out there with this with this
group's very special.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Yeah, yeah, Dodgers win.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
All right.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Let's talk about tickets. A lot of people want to
go to the game. And you want tickets. You want
to know what's going on. What's the price, like, what's
the availability? Like, let's find out.
Speaker 10 (13:35):
People are getting so excited over this game. And what
better way to show your true colors than to buy.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
A lot of stuff, spend a lot of money. Well,
that's what people are doing.
Speaker 10 (13:43):
We're at the Dodger store here Universal City walk in.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
It has been busy.
Speaker 10 (13:47):
They're already run out of a few items. People have
been coming here all day they're getting ready for that
dream matchup in the World Series.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I wonder where all the Mets National League Championship shirts
are off too. I don't know, some crazy part of
the world kids will be wearing those shirts. We was
talk about that.
Speaker 7 (14:06):
But with like a seven game series or best of
seven series, do they have them printed out?
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Like do they wait at least till oh, we got
one more game or oh you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (14:16):
I think they print them. I think they do, because.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
At what point do they print them?
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Well, I think I think Dix had them probably you know,
for four or five days.
Speaker 7 (14:24):
Or maybe like as soon as that series started. Yeah,
I think so, I think so.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yeah. And then Dix had, you know, thousands of them
at least were hundred of them, at least probably no,
probably thousands of them. And they're ready to move them.
And they had to sit in the back on Friday
with and they blew that's right, And then they moved
them out. Dick's Sporting Goods. I remember there used to
be another sporting goods store really in the South Bay.
There was a El Segundo area. It was called Chicks
(14:50):
Sporting Goods. Oh yeah, Chicks Sporting Goods.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
That was a big store.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I think they had seven or eight locations, and I
think Dick's boughtom. Dick Sporting Goods bought him. But yeah, yeah,
the Dick's Sporting Goods bought Chick Sporting Goods. Yeah, And
I was always a big fan of Chicks. But I've
gotten into you know, Dix now, so.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Goes wrong with little variety?
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, I like it.
Speaker 7 (15:14):
You never know what you want in life, to try
a little bit of everything, right, That's right, That's exactly right.
It was funny because I was at this function that
Colbert was at last night for the for Caterina's Club,
and I was actually sitting beside Cole Belt and it
was by the time we sat down at all of
our tables, about five hundred people in this big room
at the Nixon Library, and it was about the fifth inning,
(15:36):
I want to say, fourth inning, when we were all
sitting down and John sitting right beside me, had it
pulled up on his phone, and Moe also sitting on
our table, Mo Kelly, he had it up on his thoughts.
And I look around the room of five hundred people
and at least half of them were looking down at
their phones.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
It's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
That crazy timing, crazy timing, you know, but who knew?
You know that the Dodgers were playing on that that
event was planned for months, right, you know, six CP
months at events. All right, Dodgers, let's find out about
these tickets.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
It's Dodger Blue Heaven.
Speaker 10 (16:07):
At the Dodger Store Universal City Walk, the most popular
items are show hey o Tani jerseys and you can
even get something specially embroidered.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
World Series merchandise is going, going gone.
Speaker 11 (16:19):
The phone is off the hook. We've been getting calls
ever since we opened. We open at eleven. Everything we
have less is just t shirts. That's it all we
have less. All hats that are fitty completely sold out.
But we are expecting more as well, hopefully tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Eileen Watanabi was buying thirty hats.
Speaker 12 (16:35):
I work for Pink's hot Dogs. We're turning Pink's blue
starting today, so we are getting thirty hats for all
the stuff.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
Okay, all right. I went to Pink's a little two
weeks ago. Two weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah, that what you get.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I got a chili dog with a with ketchup, just
chili ketchup on a hot dog in a bun and
the line was short, which I thought was odd. Saturday
night at eight o'clock at night. I thought that line
was gonna be two hours long. Well, he was pretty sure.
It's probably around eleven midnight. Maybe, Oh that's right. Yeah,
the late crowd, that crowd, yeah, yeah, nine looking for
(17:11):
a little grease. I think it was nine bucks for
hot dog, one dog. I think it was nine thirty
five or seven fifty it was. I remember, like oof arena,
the kind of reaction to it. But I love Pinks.
Speaker 12 (17:23):
Man.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
They have the best chilly in the world, the best
chili ever. I enjoyed that. All Right, we come back
and talk about ticket prices, Dodgers, Dodgers, Dodgers they win.
We also have some some audio to play from last night.
It was an unbelievable night in Los Angeles. The Dodgers
are going to the World Series and they're gonna be
playing the Yankees. You'll remember this for a long long time.
(17:47):
You'll be telling your kids and grandkids, and man, I
can't wait till it for it to start. Starts all
starts on Friday. Right here at Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 8 (17:54):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty Dodger tickets.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Let's find out how much heth tickets are.
Speaker 10 (18:03):
This is the matchup most baseball fans wanted. That's right,
Yankees Dodgers. It'll be the twelfth time the storied franchises
meat in the World Series. And the first and forty
three years? Yeah, and the first and forty three years?
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Is that right?
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Seems high?
Speaker 2 (18:19):
And the first and forty three years.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
It's thirty some years now, it's forty three. This is
the last time they were there since eighty eight. Oh, no,
eighty one, you're right, I was like a eighty eight
and the first.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
And forty three years.
Speaker 13 (18:31):
Yeah, I mean I'm super excited. It's like, this is
this is what baseball fans have been dreaming of, right,
I mean super excited. I wasn't young enough for Brooklyn,
but super excited. I mean, this is the ultimate rivalry
right here.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Dogs got a tick or something with that's super excited.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Super excited.
Speaker 13 (18:47):
I wasn't young enough for Brooklyn, but super excited. I mean,
this is the ultimate rivalry right here, Dodgers and.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Yankees.
Speaker 13 (18:55):
Super excited.
Speaker 12 (18:56):
I think, well, I'm going to enjoy it from the
comfort of my couch.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
She's right about that.
Speaker 12 (19:01):
The ticket price is going to be way too much.
Speaker 10 (19:04):
She's right about that. If you want to go to
the game, forget about it. Getting those tickets won't be easy.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
It's horrible.
Speaker 14 (19:10):
I wish I had more tickets, because if I had
more tickets, I could lower my prices.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
He's right about that, Barry routing from Barry's Tickets.
Speaker 10 (19:16):
Tickets for Game one at Mister Stadium were already selling
for thousands of dollars.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
I saw a ticket last night, a single ticket right
behind home play, good ticket, third row up in the
dugout seats, for thirty seven thousand dollars. Thirty seven thousand
dollars for one ticket. How about getting caught in traffic
for that one? Don't show up till the fourth inning all.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
He's right about that.
Speaker 14 (19:39):
Field boxes between the bases, those are probably running about thirty.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Two hundred, he's right about that.
Speaker 14 (19:46):
Was much at ten thousand, Like we have first row
on the Dodgers dugout. That would be about ten thousand
a ticket.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
He's right about that.
Speaker 14 (19:53):
But you could also get something like five six eight
rows up for about five thousand.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
He's right about that.
Speaker 10 (19:59):
And those prices are certainly going to go much higher.
So after buying a few things, the best thing we
can all do.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Is just stay home and watch it on the TV.
Speaker 10 (20:06):
He's right about that, reporting life from Universal City, ABC seven.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
He's right about that.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
He's right about that. You know, I think that the
ticket prices are astronomical right after the game, because you
get people drinking, especially wealthy people. You get wealthy people
drinking and they're like, oh, let's go on right now,
tickets stuff. I don't care what the prices, let's buy it. Whew,
thirty seven thousand dollars a ticket, I don't care. We
(20:31):
got millions buy it. At least we can go. And
people want to be seen. One of the reasons you
buy a ticket right behind the dugout, right behind home
plate is for people to see you. Because if people
see you, then they think you have money, and people
want to People always want to surround themselves with people
with money. People love money. They love money, money, money, money, money.
(20:52):
And if you and if you put out that image
that you have money, oh man, people warm up to you.
They want to get that money and love money. Everyone's
with cash. Everyone has money. Seems like I don't know.
Every time I go out, you go to the mall
on a weekend and it's packed because people have money.
I don't know where we all got it, but we
all have money. In southern California. You go to Dodgers Stadium,
(21:14):
it's full. Go to Sofi Stadium, it's full at the
same time, two full stadiums, and yet traffic and every
single mall can't find a parking spot. In Glendale to
save your life, that mall is full on Saturday and
Sunday and the moment they opened until the moment they closed.
And I don't understand how this happened in life where
the mall, the Glendale mall closes at six pm on Sunday,
(21:39):
what I think it's six or six thirty something like that.
And during the week they used to all the malls
used to always be open till nine o'clock. Now they
all close at eight, and I don't understand it at all.
I don't understand kicking people out of your mall who
have money. People have money, they want to spend it,
and they close at eight eight o'clock. Costco closes at
(22:01):
eight thirty every night, and then on weekends, I think
it closes at six or six thirty. Costco closes at
a at a weird hour on Saturday and Sunday.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
I think it's six o'clock Costco. Yeah, yeah, they definitely
seem to.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
It's weird and it's full.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Store is full.
Speaker 7 (22:18):
Yeah, there's people in line waiting to get in when
they open, yes, and there's people.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
If they stayed open on midnight, it'd be full. People
love Costco for some reason. Man, they don't keep those
doors open. Well, I think the reason why is they
don't make money off product. They really only make money
off of membership. We're not supposed to make money off product.
They're supposed to buy it and sell to you what
they pay for it. So it doesn't matter to them.
(22:42):
You know, it costs them money to stay open. They
just make it off your membership and your membership and
yours and yours and yours. We all have or not?
We all a lot of people have membership to Costco.
I wonder if everybody on the show does crows you
have a Costco membership? I do, Belly O, do you
have Constco members I do not? Wait, really, what happened there?
(23:06):
John's cutting back had to cut back really that's where
you decided to snip hun Yeah? Yeah, sure, was not
happy about you borrow somebody's card? Or do you go
with somebody?
Speaker 15 (23:19):
No?
Speaker 1 (23:19):
I haven't. Oh, I'll take you.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
I haven't been to Costco in a while.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
How long? Ever since they moved at a dust when
they didn't move because I saw it there the other day. No,
it's been a while. What's your big store you go to?
Not your grocery store? What's your big box? You know
what it was? It was my super Bowl party when
I bought those chickens with oh, yeah, twenty chickens. It
(23:43):
was not twenty, it was eight eight. Yeah. Look, anytime
you're buying, welcome match the throw of your chickens to
save your embarrassment. That's too many chickens. I was keeping
them warm. Too many chickens. What's your big box store?
You a Target lady? A Walmart lady. I'm a Target Target?
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
You feel good about yourself? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Bring it?
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (24:03):
By the way, the Costcos during the week they close
at eight thirty, but only on Saturdays and Sundays they
close at six six o'clock.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Wow, Robin, do you have a Costco card? I sure
don't You don't, well, you will.
Speaker 8 (24:17):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on Demayo from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Rodris Yankees World Series. It's the very first time in
I don't know, fifty fifty three years or so where
the perspective MVPs of both leagues. Aaron Judge and Shoeyotani
will be meeting in the World Series for their very
(24:43):
first time. Aaron Judge has never been in the World
Series and neither Shoe Aotani and I have a feeling
whoever wins the World Series, that person who represents that
state is going to win the election presidential election. Donald Truy,
I'm born in New York. Kamala Harris born in California
(25:05):
and lives in Los Angeles. It's La versus New York
in baseball, and I think we're gonna get a sign
of whoever wins the World Series that that candidate bet
on that candidate to win the presidential election. I think
it's I'm think I'm onto something. I do something huge.
You can bet on too. Take it to the bank.
(25:28):
Take it to the bank, all right, Dodgers, where'd you
watch the Crows?
Speaker 9 (25:31):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Yeah, Sorry, you were at that big event and Bellio
was there too. Man, Oh, man, you guys missed a
great game. Great game. Sit there ONTs those Dodgers fans celebrated.
Oh what is gonna be a wild weekend here on
Friday and Saturday at Dodgers Stadium. Man, you're gonna want
to be out there or be with fans, or be
(25:52):
at a bar or somebody's house. I don't know how
you're gonna celebrate, but man, Friday is gonna be huge
in Los Angeles, and a lot of people celebrated last night,
especially in East Los Angeles. They're not a party. They
get out and they get it. You know, people, a
lot of people in the valley just you know, go
out and you whistle or clap, and you you know,
you never hear another guy whistling down the street. And
(26:13):
that's a wrap. But man, you go in East LA
and they party. They get out in the streets with
the fireworks and the donuts and the cars and the horns.
They know how to do it, ma'am. They know how
to do it.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Oh my god, I'm so excited. And we're going against
the Yankees.
Speaker 13 (26:33):
This is gonna be history of making man.
Speaker 8 (26:36):
It's nothing like I've ever imagined in my life.
Speaker 4 (26:38):
Every game I've been to is nothing compared to this.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
It's insane.
Speaker 11 (26:41):
It's all excitement. Everyone is so pumped. He is twenty twenty.
We've been waiting for.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
This, and it sounds like everybody drinks of the game.
I love that everybody gets loaded. Everybody has nine hundred.
Speaker 11 (26:51):
Beers so excited to be in the World Series.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
The end, they need to score, score early, get ahead,
score more runs than the Yankees.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Play like they've played against the Mets and the Potters.
Speaker 16 (27:01):
You guys got awesome. He goes like, the Hey, I came.
I came here from Japan to see him hit. Then
hit hit two hits, so I was very surprising because
he did a great job.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
The energy was amazing.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
I can't even believe it.
Speaker 8 (27:16):
I'm so blessed to be here and the team just
pulled it together.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
I'm so proud of them.
Speaker 13 (27:21):
Tonight at Dodger Stadium was pure joy.
Speaker 17 (27:25):
The essence of the fans and the team and the
resilience of we know that we can do this and
we're going to do this.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
It was amazing to finally get a good win here
with the crowd and uh, you know last time it
was COVID.
Speaker 7 (27:39):
So now with the fans here backing our team up,
there's no better feeling.
Speaker 18 (27:43):
I'm sorry the audience till the essence of the team
to be together, create, achieve to win.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Everybody's so buzz I love it.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
Crowd got ready to explode on the verge, jamake it
it all happen, here's gas. He brought a second Tators
got it. We Steers is alive and no of a
World Series.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
And nobody left early. Nobody left. I didn't see any
break lights in that parking lot.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
Nobody Dodgers yokes in the fall class again.
Speaker 19 (28:18):
The Dodgers beat the Mets ten to five in Game
six last night to close out the series. And we're
now going to see two home run kings battle it
out in the World Series. Show Hey Otani and Aaron Judge.
Speaker 9 (28:30):
Now.
Speaker 19 (28:30):
Last night, Dave Roberts fired up the team before the
celebration in the locker room. He said he's never been
around a group of guys he loves or cares about more.
And he said, quote four more wins work.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
To be done.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Yeah, I got I got four more wins. And Dave
Roberts just sealed his future. He's going to be a
Dodger manager until he quits. Until he quits, he's locked
in that position.
Speaker 10 (28:54):
I think it's what baseball wanted, needed, sports wanted needed.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Gonna be a.
Speaker 20 (29:00):
Legendary series and the best team's gonna win that series.
Speaker 15 (29:04):
And hard can't wait to play that great team.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
So how about the Fox sports their television ratings for
New York LA World Series. Oh man, through the roof
with that. TV ratings are gonna be unreal.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
It's amazing.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
You got, you got Chotani, Rookie Bets, Freddy Freeman, you
got Aaron Judge, Gihon, Carlos standon one.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
So speaking Freddy Freeman, you know the Dodgers in the
playoffs are three to ozher without Freddy Freeman. Wow, yeah,
is that crazy? Kind of an odd stat They won
three games, lost none. When he doesn't start.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
You're talking about the game's biggest stars on the absolute
biggest stage.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
As a fan, this is what you want. This is
fun for us.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
It's gonna be a battle, but we're looking forward to
it's a world series.
Speaker 19 (29:49):
Maybe we site the Dodgers bullpen pulled through last night
using seven pitchers and series MVP Tommy Edmond and catcher
Will Smith led the way offensively.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
Now, game right, let's say what Doug David Vassey was
in the dugout. He travels with the Dodgers. I think
he's been with the Dodgers for thirteen, fourteen, fifteen years
something like that. But man, this guy is living his dream.
And he was talking to uh I think it was.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Uh keyk way Off, Key k hernandezeh keyk Hernandez way.
Speaker 20 (30:17):
Off, Key k Hernandez taking a break from the fiesta,
k K, you came back to the Dodgers for this moment.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
What can you say about this team?
Speaker 16 (30:28):
What we're like?
Speaker 4 (30:29):
What I want to say? How about this team?
Speaker 2 (30:31):
I can't because I got in trouble.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Well, you guys, sal oh, yeah, he got in trouble
last time because when they beat the Padres. The one
of the commentators on the field said how do you feel?
And Key a Hernandez said, are we live? And the
interviewer said yes, and Key K looked around. Then he
said we don't give an f and he used to
(30:54):
hold effort and I guess the Dodger is down like that.
Speaker 21 (30:57):
Well, you guys, Salia review. That's how I feel about
this team. That's how we feel as a team. But
it feels great to go back to the World Series. Man,
to do it here in front of the home crowd.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
They deserve this.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
You know, we're we're it's great. It feels great, Keith.
Speaker 20 (31:13):
When you look at this team one through twenty six,
one through thirty, it seemed like everybody found a way
to contribute.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
I said it. I said it.
Speaker 21 (31:21):
It's gonna take every single guy on the roster to
to accomplish what we wanted, what we want to accomplish.
And uh, you know, credit to the front office, credit
to everybody for uh putting this team together. Uh through
all the adversity we've we've had to go through, and
uh yeah, you know we we we.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Love our team.
Speaker 21 (31:37):
We like our team, we like our chances and uh
you know, we we got.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Four four wins to go. You feel like you want
to go down to that bullpen to dip.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Your till to be one of the dogs.
Speaker 21 (31:47):
I'm one of the dogs, man, I'm one of the
dogs four to third.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Uh. Those guys, man, those guys.
Speaker 21 (31:52):
Are the ones that f carry does this way.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
Man, Kudos to them.
Speaker 20 (31:56):
Kudos to WILF Smith for for for.
Speaker 21 (31:58):
The way that he's handled that pitching south through others
most season.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
That's right, all right, And then real quickly Eagle Rock.
A lot of donut shops do this. They capitalize on
the Dodgers, and they got the Blue Donuts, the blue
frost thing. This says La on it.
Speaker 17 (32:12):
I mean they've looked right now. They're perfectly decorated with
the La logo, and you know people have been coming
in getting these tasty treats. People here at Colorado Donuts
celebrating the.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Colorado Donuts coach. I gotta rely on you know you're
the donut king.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
Is that a good place?
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Colorado Donuts? Never heard of Monch.
Speaker 17 (32:29):
People here at Colorado Donuts celebrating the best way they
know how. People immediately took to the streets to show
their Dodgers' pride. You can see the celebrations started following
the big w Slow Donuts on the East LA streets.
And that's the perfect segue back to Colorado Donuts, where
we are apparently at a place where they have luck
on their side.
Speaker 15 (32:50):
Take a listen, because they bought the donut the doctors
wine Like there's a customer that came intother games, say
he missed the two games that they lost, and then
so he came on game six and by donut and
that actually won yesterday, which is funny.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
I was like five years old. Too much information with
the guys. It's like he came in and he missed
the game. He had arthritis, his mom had a kidney stone.
She's doing good, but I wanted to donut and I
wanted it mostly blue with a Yeah. It was a
big lug, crazy stuff. She'll be fine. At one point,
the guy goes, but you know, we got nine people
(33:23):
behind you. What the f do you like? You like
chocolate boat, We'll give you one of these. Come on, wait,
too much information with this guy.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
I was like five years old, man, when I went
to my first Dodger game and I got my original
still my little Dodger back.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
But yeah, go Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
That's right.
Speaker 17 (33:43):
People also celebrating at the bars all over the city
with this win.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
The bars are going to be packed this weekend, Friday
and Saturday. Oh man, that's gonna be the place to
go to. A Dodger bar, you know, a big one,
like a big ass sports bar with lots of tables.
Everyone's drinking, eating wings. That's going to be their ticket.
On Friday and Saturday, we'll have our own dedicated bar.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Just for us.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
