Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM sixty and you're listening to the Conway
Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
All right, let me interrupt you real quick.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
Here we have a cal fire with a press conference
on the Franklin fire.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
And press conference for today, and.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Let's see what the latest information because that fire is
still burning.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Let's take a Here we go.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
Cal Fire Incident Management Team four. This is the six
pm Franklin Fire press briefing. We will have many speakers
for you this evening to answer many of your questions.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Good evening. My name is Dusty Martin.
Speaker 5 (00:37):
I'm one of the unified incident commanders and I'm the
incident commander for cal Fire Incident Management Team four. Today
cal Fire Incident Management Team four went into unified command
with La County's Team three.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
For today's update.
Speaker 5 (00:53):
The acreage is at four thousand and thirty five acres
and we're currently sitting at seven percent contained up today.
We have oney nine and seventy four firefighting personnel assigned
to this incident. Today, we saw the weather moderate which
allowed us to have a lot of success around the
fire today, and we're expecting tomorrow for a weather change
(01:17):
and a wind change. Coming tomorrow, going from that north
northeast wind, the weather changing to a south southeast wind
still with gus to fifteen to twenty miles per hour.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
So for tomorrow we're.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
Looking at the wind change with a possible change in
direction that the fire has been going. So far today,
the challenging areas for us have been on the west
side of the fire, up in the Malibu Canyon area.
It's extremely steep and unaccessible terrain that the fire is in,
and we're working on getting firefighters in there to start
(01:51):
containing that. As we went around the fire today we
were able to get personnel in and start putting direct
line in. We do have four thousand acres as fire
burned at a rapid pace from the start.
Speaker 6 (02:03):
Of this.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
As we look for in the days to come, I
want to ensure that getting the citizens back into their
homes is our number one priority. But to do that,
we have to make sure that the area is safe
before we can let folks back in. Currently, we have
sixty three hundred citizens that are evacuated out of their homes,
and I want you to know that we do not
(02:26):
take that likely. Our team, our unified command, we are
working diligently to get the area secured to be able
to get people back into their homes.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Thank you godiving everybody.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
I am Deputy Chief Deputy Fire Chief Albert Janigisalo with
the County of Los Angeles Fire Department, Unified and Senate Commander.
I'm here today to provide an important update regarding the
Franklin Fire. Over the past several days are dedicated damage
inspection teams. I've been conducting thorough inspections of structures within
the fire affected areas. Today, I want to share updated
(03:05):
figures based on their latest findings. Having completed twenty five
percent of the inspection area. As of this afternoon, the
Franklin Fire has damaged a total of six structures and
destroyed nine structures. These numbers reflect a comprehensive evaluation conducted
by specialized teams working diligently and challenging conditions to assess
(03:28):
and document the damage.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Caused by this incident. We recognize that.
Speaker 7 (03:34):
The updates are difficult to hear, especially for those directly
affected by this fire. Our hearts go out to all
the residents impacted by this tragic event. Please know that
our entire team remains committed to protecting the lies and
property as we continue our firefighting and our recovery efforts.
Also want to express my deepest gratitude to the firefighters,
(03:57):
law enforcement officers, community excuse me, emergency management personnel, and
community volunteers who have worked tireshly in response to this disaster.
Their dedication and professionalism are commendable. To residents still under
evacuation orders, please remain patient adhere to the guidance of
(04:18):
all of our local authorities. Your safety remains our top priority.
We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
Thank you for your attention and continued cooperation.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Stay safe and thank.
Speaker 8 (04:30):
You good evening. My name's Jennifer C. Two, captain of
Malibi Lost Hill's Share station. The Sheriff's Department continues to
coordinate with our local and state fire department and law
enforcement partners, and the County Office of Emergency Management to
monitor the Franklin fire. We currently have our incident Management
(04:51):
Team and four squads pretty much consisting of about one
hundred and twenty deputies assisting with this fire incident. Fourteen
active operations that include evacuations, road closures, rovine patrols, and
security patrols. There are several road closures affected by this area.
(05:12):
There's a soft closure road closure on Pacific Coast Highway
between Canaan Doom Road and Corral Canyon Road.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Only residents who live within this area are being allowed back.
Speaker 8 (05:24):
Currently, there is a hard road closure at the following streets.
Pacific Coast Highway between Correl Canyon to Tapanga Canyon Boulevard,
Malibu Canyon Road between Lost Hills Road and Pacific Coast Highway,
Mulholland Highway between Los Virgins Road and Stunt Road, Cold
Canyon Road between Mulholland Road and Payuma Road, Tuna Canyon
(05:49):
Road between Pacific Coast Highway and Saddle Peak Road. Earlier
this afternoon, we opened up to Panga Canyon to full access.
There are approximately twenty thousand affected citizens on which are
under evacuation orders or evacuation warnings. Just to reiterate where
(06:09):
our two shelters are. Santa Monica Unified School District Facility
at twenty eight twenty eight Fourth Street in Santa Monica.
The other ones at Calabasas Community Center twenty seven zero
four zero Malibu Malibu Hills Road in Calabasas. There are
two shelters for small animals a Gora Hills, a Gore
(06:31):
Hills Animals Center at twenty nine to five to five
Agra Road and a Gora Hills, and then for large
animals Pierce College six to two zero one, when Neca
Avenue and Woodland Hills. We understand I've been received many
phone calls today from residents and we understand everyone is
(06:51):
eager for all the roads to be open. I assure
you we are all working towards that goal and to
be able to repopulate soon. However, we must ensure it
is safe. Just as we were driving up PCH there
is a utility crew fixing one of the downpower lines.
We want to make sure that everybody's safe when we repopulate.
(07:15):
So thank you for trusting us and for being patient
with us. We urge residents to stay informed by watching
or following credible news sources or visit our LASD social
media or Lacounty dot gom backs US emergency for information update.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Well, Thank you so much. Good evening.
Speaker 9 (07:39):
My name is Ben Allen, and I have the great
honor of representing the Malibu community in the California State
Senate and also the unincorporated parts of the Santa Monca
Mountains in La County, and how we spent much of
the afternoon touring some of the impacted area, learning about
the work that's underway, and engaging in efforts to try
to get more support for all the brave folks that
(08:02):
are out there, both in law enforcement on the firefighting side,
that are doing incredible work right now fighting this fire
and clearing brush and ensuring that as the winds shift,
we're not going to see some of the some of
the terrible images that we saw a couple of nights ago.
It's been a very difficult couple of days for this community.
(08:22):
But I really do want to just say how extraordinary
it is to see how much cooperation that we see
between the state, the county.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Local folks.
Speaker 9 (08:31):
We're really happy to announce that FEMA has just agreed
to support our efforts in a very significant way. So
I'm very very thankful for our federal partners who are
going to be stepping up to help fund a lot
of this work that's that's currently underway here. I want
to thank the Governor's office for responding very quickly and
providing lots and lots of state support to help the
(08:51):
folks on the ground. Cal fire is here in a
major with a major presence. They're working with CDCR. They've
got some crews that are up there clearing brush right
now in the Sarah Retreat area, and and and through
the mountains and uh and working very closely with all
of our friends and partners at the city and of
course La County, which has just been such a uh
(09:12):
you know, it has been has been at the at
the heart of this effort in keeping people safe.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
We also had the chance to go up.
Speaker 9 (09:18):
To Peppernine where the students were able to stay in place,
shelter in place, and and and stay safe there. Uh
uh you know, the fire went right through that campus.
And yet it's amazing to see how how well intact
nearly the entire campus is. And it's because they've done
such a good job over the years, uh in hardening
their campus and making sure that it's better prepared for
(09:38):
just these.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Kinds of incidents.
Speaker 9 (09:39):
So our message to everyone is we're here to serve you.
Speaker 10 (09:43):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (09:43):
You know, throughout this emergency as we make our recovery,
we have boots on the ground, uh that are that
are that are keeping everyone as safe as possible eyes
in the sky dropping water, dropping fire retardant.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
As we speak.
Speaker 9 (09:55):
So we ask people to stay informed through alert LA
dot org.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Please turn to that as.
Speaker 9 (10:01):
You try to get information. We're going to get people
back in their homes as soon as we possibly can.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (10:06):
Southern California, Edison was rewiring right now checking all of
its infrastructure. We want to get East Malibu uh uh,
you know, back up and running right now on the
power side.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
So a lot of work is underway, but I just
on on.
Speaker 9 (10:18):
Behalf of of of of my constituents. I want to
think the governor, and I want to thank our incredible
partnership with the folks at the county, and I want
to think our firefighters who are working so hard to
ensure that this community is safe. Looking forward to to
further further work to support this community.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Good evening, everyone.
Speaker 11 (10:40):
I'm Lindsay Horvath, the county supervisor for the third district
serving this area. And as you heard, just a few
hours ago, Senator Ben Allen and I toured the fire line.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
With Okay, most of the information is out there.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Some of the politicians have stopped by to assure people
that help us on the way, but right now, there's
four four thirty five acres have burned. It's seven percent contained,
which is better than yesterday which was zero. Nine hundred
and seventy four firefighters are on the case. That's a lot.
That is a lot. They're getting better weather. West Malibu
(11:16):
is still a problem. That's where the fire is burning
up in the canyon. Very steep area, very tough to
fight up there.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
And then we have.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Nine structures have been destroyed. Six additional structures have been damaged.
The captain of the Lost Hills Police Department out there
lots of cops. She said, if you're thinking of looting
or going in the area to cause any kind of mischief,
you will be arrested.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
They're not fooling around. They're gonna step too quick.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
So off limits gang PCH Canaan Road is to the
north and Topanga to the south. PCH closed in that area,
and also Topanga Canyon is fully open now, which is
tremendous for people trying to get back and forth from
the valley to PCH to Panga Canyon. Well, it may
(12:06):
be jammed, probably be some traffic there. Fully open to
Panga Canyon. That is great news. Pierce College have you
got large animals, and I think they're talking horses, big pigs.
Maybe I don't know what have you got rolling, but
big animals. Take them to Pierce College. They'll hold on
to them as long as I think you need. They're
(12:27):
working to repopulate the area. Ben Allen, one of the
representatives of the area, came on and said FEMA will
be on site to help people out. FEMA and so
you're going to get some kind of assistance there from
the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Pepperdine students. Even though
the fire engulfed the outskirts of Pepperdine, it had very
(12:51):
little effect on campus because they've they've been working diligently
with the state and the city and the county to
keep a large defensible area around that campus. And if
you've driven ever driven past Pepperdine, you see that big,
huge green lawn, the green grass all around the campus.
(13:12):
That's one of the reasons they do that is to
have that kind of defensible space. Whenever the fire gets
closed that they have a couple hundred yards in some areas.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
So that's great.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
All more any more information you need, Alert LA dot org.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Alert LA dot org.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
We are going to keep on top of this fire
with all this information coming in, and we will keep
you until this fire is out. You're gonna hear updates
on KFI twenty four hours a day AM radio.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
That's what they do best.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
You've just heard the live press conference on KFI and
all the details surrounding fire that's still burning. It is
still burning and we're not out of the woods yet.
Even though they say it's seventeen it was the seven percent.
Seven percent contain four thousand, thirty five acres at burn.
(14:14):
It's a lot and one thousand, nine hundred and seventy
four firefighters on the case out there. I can't imagine
what this is costing. Nearly two thousand firefighters. That is
a lot, a lot, all right, We promised this and
then we have the press conference, so we'll tell it
to you right now.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
So cal is going to get some rain.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
A chance of rain is going to help the firefighters
out and we're all going to welcome it after these dry,
windy conditions over the last three days. Possible rain for
southern California.
Speaker 12 (14:45):
Now, speaking of tomorrow watch the storm to the north.
Notice how we bring in a little moisture. Really good
chance that tomorrow evening we will get some light to
moderate rain. Probably not a big deal, but it will
bring it on shore push and it will keep the
winds cranked up just a little bit in some spots.
But the good news is at least when we get
witty conditions, if they're on shore, the humidity is higher,
(15:06):
and so that helps us a little bit, especially if
we get a little rain over the Franklin Fire. Now overall,
we're looking at some higher pressure settling in.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Friday.
Speaker 12 (15:14):
Looks like a beautiful day for us. Saturday, a really
good storm starts to make its way into the northwest
and northern California.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Do you hear that.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I know sometimes you have ass listen to radio. I
get that you're cooking, you get the kids with you,
but listen to this. This is important news, especially if
you're traveling around the holidays.
Speaker 12 (15:32):
Saturday, a really good storm starts to make its way
into the northwest and northern California. Some of that tries
to make its way down south and through Santa Barbara
Venture County, so we could add some rain and even if.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
We don't get the rain here, at least we're replenishing
all the lakes, the ponds, the damned off areas where
we're gonna get a lot of water over the next
couple of months with these storms piling into northern California.
So whether it's northern, Central or southern California, as long
as we get rain, precipitation anywhere, it's gonna.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Help us out.
Speaker 12 (16:07):
To the late Saturday evening forecast into Sunday morning, we
will wait and see on that. In the meantime, kind
of transitioning back to the onshore, push cooler, cloudy chances,
some light rain late tomorrow into the evening hours, and
then you'll notice the weekend for the most part looks
really good. Temperatures below the average, we get sunshine. I'm
gonna watch Saturday for you. Saturday might be the only
(16:29):
change as the day increases. As we get to the
evening hours on Saturday, we do get cloudy. Maybe we
bring in a little light rain, so we'll watch that,
but we do no Thursday poses a decent chance, especially
to the north, so Ventura Santa Barbara, La County is
probably a better chance of say South Orange County San
Diego and eastern sections of the ie of getting rain.
But it'll be out there on your Thursday evening, so
(16:51):
something to keep in mind.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
There you go, rain is on its way. That is
great news, fantastic. All right, we just heard said Kroger
and Albertsons they're going to try to merge, and now
they'll end up suing one another.
Speaker 13 (17:06):
Federal judge has blocked Kroger's proposed twenty five billion dollar
merger with Albertsons. The judge ruled the merger would harm
competition and consumers. The deals sought to create the largest
supermarket chain in the country, but faced opposition from unions
it would raise grocery prices and lower worker benefits. Kroger
and Albertsons had promised lower prices and agreed to divest
(17:30):
hundreds of stores, but the court ruled the plan was inadequate.
Today's ruling puts the merger's future in doubt.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Oh boy, all right, well, we going to keep going
to our grocery store, Albertson and Kroger. Kroger is Ralph's, Albertsons,
I think is Fonds and also Pavilions and you know, many,
many more scattered safeway. What is safeway? I think safeway
(17:59):
is so siated loosely with rows. I don't know my
supermarkets as much as I should.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
I should know. I'm better than that.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Our gas prices are dropping just in time for the
Christmas vacation winter holiday. People get in their car going
to visit. Gas prices are on their way down.
Speaker 14 (18:16):
Some good news for anybody hitting the road over the holidays.
Gas prices are falling. The national average for a gallon
of gas now two dollars and ninety seven cents this week.
That's the lowest it's been in more than three years.
Prices have been falling for eight consecutive weeks. Now, drivers
in southern states like Mississippi, Arkansas, they're paying the least.
People out west, like California, facing the highest prices. Experts
(18:39):
say you can expect to see gas prices fall even
more in the coming weeks.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
All right, when we come back, A dad faked his death.
This kayaker, if you heard this story, faked his death.
We've got the entire story. It's interesting, interesting, Let's find
out what happened? Is lad can't really do that? You
get caught doing that big price to.
Speaker 6 (18:56):
Best you're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from
KFI Am sixty.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
There are a lot of people out there that may
have had this idea of fake your own death. Maybe
get an insurance, you know, package you can collect on
that that's possible. Everyone's always trying to scam somebody and
trying to go out the easy way.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
I get it. I'm I'm with you, I'm I'm I'm
on board. I'm on board.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
But when you get caught faking your own death, there
is a fairly hefty price to pay for it. Let's
find out how this chap did it. The kayaker who
faked his own death. Where's this guy now? It's going
on with his led This.
Speaker 15 (19:36):
Morning, authorities promising an update in the case of the
Wisconsin father of three who allegedly faked his own disappearance
and fled the country, though they remained tightly h the guy.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Man, this guy is my hero. I bet every guy
listening right now has thought about this. At one point
in your life, things got too crazy, kids got big,
they started talking back to you, ran out of money,
no money to pay the bills, your in laws don't
(20:07):
entertain you anymore. You've put on some weight, lost some hair,
and a couple of your buddies have either passed away
or moved away, and you want to start over, you
want a fresh start. And so you thought about it.
You didn't do it because you're like me, your coward,
(20:28):
full coward. Didn't do it. This guy did it. This
guy's our hero. He did it. He faked his own death.
Speaker 15 (20:35):
Father of three who allegedly faked his own disappearance and
fled the country. Though they remained tight lipped, Borgart's name
appearing in the Green Lake County Police database overnight, suggesting
he is in custody.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
No charges have.
Speaker 15 (20:49):
Been filed, but a press car coming is scheduled for
later today.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
How about that press conference tomorrow? Sitting through that as
the wife. He hated his wife and his kid so
much he faked his death.
Speaker 15 (21:00):
It's the latest twist in the case of the forty
five year old boarguard, who was originally reported missing in
August when he didn't come home after kayaking on this lake,
but authorities later saying he faked his own disappearance.
Speaker 16 (21:13):
Good evening, it's fraying bordwork.
Speaker 15 (21:16):
Authority saying they made contact with him about a month ago.
Speaker 16 (21:19):
Today is November eleventh.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
I think this accent and this energy level is fake.
Speaker 9 (21:26):
Two.
Speaker 16 (21:27):
Good evening, it's fraying bordwork.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Yeah, well we gotta bring the energy up here, Bob,
lack of energy. What's going on with you?
Speaker 16 (21:33):
Good evening, it's fraying borgwork.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Now watch you'll have some crazy like incurable disease and
I'll feel terrible.
Speaker 16 (21:39):
Today is November eleventh, Yes, praximally ten am by you guys.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Matt and are you still dead? Are you live again?
What's going on with you?
Speaker 16 (21:49):
In my apartment?
Speaker 1 (21:50):
In your apartment? Okay, you're you're back again, You're live again. No,
no boogey board or kayak or I don't know what
the hell he was on.
Speaker 16 (21:58):
I am see.
Speaker 15 (22:00):
Tracking him to Eastern Europe, saying at.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
The time, man, this guy went to Eastern Europe. You
know that's like Ukraine, Turkey. What else is in Eastern Europe?
Poland is Eastern Europe?
Speaker 15 (22:14):
Tracking him to Eastern Europe, saying at the time he
would face charges if and when he returned.
Speaker 13 (22:21):
There was a lot of concern and the information that
the Green Lake County has at this point leads us
to an obstructing charge.
Speaker 15 (22:30):
Borgart was first reported missing August twelfth, police finding a
capsized kayak and his car parked nearby. Authority search the
lake for fifty four days, coming up empty.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Oh okay, Well, if he does come back, he's getting
the bill for that. He's gonna have to pay that
back to the cops and the fireman. Fifty four days
of dredging and dragging a pond looking for this nut.
Speaker 15 (22:52):
A break in the case coming when investigators discovered Borgart's
name had been checked by Canadian law enforcement August thirteenth,
the day after his disappearance.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
This guy had all figured out he was gonna flip
the kayak, leave his car there, head over to Canada
and then onto Eastern Europe.
Speaker 15 (23:10):
As they dug into his life, authority say Borgart took
out a life insurance policy and moved money to a
foreign bank before disappearing.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Okay, that's where he didn't think this through. You don't
think the cops would have looked at that. He has
a life insurance policy took out on himself and then
moved a bunch of money to Poland.
Speaker 17 (23:29):
If the local jurisdiction where he disappeared has charged him
with anything, they can take those charges and go to
the US Attorney General's office, and then he could be
extradited back to the United States.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
Yeah, he's coming back, is going to be a comebacker.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
But look, I don't think you can do that nowadays
with all the governments checking IDs, and he needed a
passport everywhere you go. You know, you could have done
this one hundred years ago, and guys did one hundred
years ago. Guys had a family in New York. Guys
had a family in LA. They never communicate with each other.
There's no internet, there are no cameras. You could stretch out.
(24:09):
Can't do that nowadays, can't do it.
Speaker 18 (24:11):
So Brogart could be facing a string of charge.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
And yes, stretching out is a term that guys use
when they like to explore outside of a conventional lifestyle,
stretching out a little stretch out.
Speaker 18 (24:24):
So Brogart could be facing a string of charges in
Wisconsin for faking his own death. Federal charges are being
considered as well. He will also be on the hook
for the bill for the search of that lake.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Well, that's right, the fifty four days of searching that lake.
He's gonna have to write a check for that considered
as well.
Speaker 18 (24:39):
He will also be on the hook for the bill
for the search of that lake, which we are told
costs at least forty thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Forty grand all right, and he's gonna have to pay
back the life insurance policy. He's going to have to
do some explaining to the kids, to his wife, and
to everybody else that he heard along the way.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
He almost got away with it if it wasn't for
those darn medaling kids.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
That's right. I bet John thinks about this all the time.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Oh yeah, I found some of his plans.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
But he would be easy to spot.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
He's you know, he's he's he's sticking out closest.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
High school football.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Game or skis out of sticking out of the van
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
Oh man, you know again, one hundred years ago you
could do this and get away with it.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
You just can't do it anymore. It's over.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
He's in way worse shape than he was.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Yes, yeah, he's better. He was better off.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Dead, he really well.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Yeah, Now he's got to face the music here for
the leak and nut. Then he's got to pay for it.
You know, he's got the life insurance. I imagine there was,
wife's not that happy, right, And I bet some credit
cards were dissolved because he's dead, so you know they
wrote those off. Those will have to be repaid. And
(25:58):
how do you trust this guy again? Can the can
the wife bring him back and say, oh, you know,
he's he apologized, let's have him back just nowhere kayaking
for this buddy, for a little buddy.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
Yeah, I think he's done.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
He's done.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
I don't know how you trust a guy like this anymore.
I think it's over, you know, I think eventually, you know,
you proved that you're you're not trustworthy.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
Yeah, no more in a big way.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
I'd like to thank this guy. He sent me a
pretty cool coin here. It's an old racing coin from
Santa Anita and his name is Norm Decker, and I
don't have his return to dress to write him a
thank you note. So, Norm, if you're listening, or if
anybody knows a Norm Decker, he said, I enjoyed listening
to your show over the years. It helps me deal
with the stress of the drive home. I've talked about
(26:47):
Santannita horse racing in general. Off topic. Oh sorry, told
me something very personal about himself there. Moving on, I'm
going through my father's estate. I came across this coin,
this token, and I found some humor in the heads
and tails. The heads of horses head and the tail
is the horse's ass, which is kind of cool. Not
(27:09):
sure what the initials mean, but I thought you might
enjoy it. If nothing else, you can use it when
you make up your mind which horse to bet on
at Sanity. So if anybody knows Norm Decker, I don't
have his return address or I'll thank him through the mail,
but please thank him for me, Norm Decker.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (27:27):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on the mail from KF.
I am six forty.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Hey, bellio, I'm gonna ask youself, do you tell me
this is weird?
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Okay, all right, all right? A kid.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
I guess he's a kid. I don't know how old
he is. He sent me an email. I'm gonna read
you an email.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, he's a kid.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
I think he's a well, I think he's you know,
he's under thirty. Okay, I think he's in these twenties. Okay, yep,
all right, here's living.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
I'll live.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
I unplugged my headphones like I do thirty times. There
you go, thirty times of this show. All right, here's
the email that I got from this guy. I think
he's probably in his twenties. Longtime fan, longtime listener. I
was hoping you could send me some of your show notes.
I have the ones you sent me last year, which
I treasure. Please tim, longtime fan, and his name is Edwin.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
It's very nice.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Yeah, so I have nothing to do after the show.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
I think you've proven that.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Once a week we have a press conference where you know,
a ton of people pepper me with questions and stuff.
I usually get pissed and walk out of here, storm out.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
So instead of just sending him the show notes, which
he asked for, Yeah, for the last week and a half,
I've been sending him show notes every day.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 8 (28:55):
No?
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Why would you do that?
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Is that weird?
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Yes? You're bombarding him with I hope.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
He doesn't think it's odd. I always write a note
to him, Edwin, more notes. Nobody wants these, but you
ding dogs?
Speaker 8 (29:06):
He asked for him, Yes, Bella, he said, Well, he
asked for him, but I think he asked for just
one show of notes.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
He didn't ask to receive show notes every single day.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
I drop them in the mail after every show.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
You don't send like a bunch together, like every night.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
You go by the great night, I drop them.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
You really really need to get a hobby.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Or something something to do?
Speaker 3 (29:27):
I guess, yeah, yeah, what happened to your Dell Taco
Lowe's home depot target?
Speaker 2 (29:32):
That was last night? That was last night.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
As a matter of fact, I'm going to tell you
what I did last night. We're gonna whip around. You're
ready ready for I think.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
You didn't you post something?
Speaker 11 (29:41):
Do I know?
Speaker 7 (29:42):
No?
Speaker 2 (29:42):
No, this is I bought three items last night.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Oh is it the one you sent me the text
message about the expired stuff?
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (29:50):
No, that was the corn dogs. Yeah yeah, I bought
about fifty corn dogs at Costco.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
And on sale.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
I turned them down, all.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Of us and I and my wife had one.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
I had one, and then we're like, you know what,
we love them so much, we're going to share them
with everything.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
They were not I don't.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Know, and you were going to bring them in and
give it to us.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
I brought them in there and the refrigerator you got
stale corn dogs Costco. We kind of exciting evening around here. So, Okay,
I bought three items last night, and then I priced
the three items at Whole Foods. Okay, I bought a
whole chicken, I bought one bottle of Tito's vodka and
(30:36):
one gallon of distilled water.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Quite a night. I bought the chicken at Costco.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Is this a rotisserie chicken?
Speaker 2 (30:49):
It is?
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Yes, I bought a chicken at Costco. I bought the
Tito's at Costco, and I got the distilled water from Walmart. Okay,
those exact three items were also for They also offered
them for sale at Whole Foods. How much was the
price difference between what I paid and what I would
(31:13):
have paid?
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Price difference?
Speaker 1 (31:15):
The price difference? What was the price difference if I
bought those same items at Whole Foods? All right, let's
start with Bellio. You get to go first.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I'm going twenty three dollars.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Twenty three dollars for three items? Yeah, all right? Is
Angel split yet?
Speaker 13 (31:36):
Timmy?
Speaker 8 (31:37):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Angel? How are you great?
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Timmy?
Speaker 2 (31:40):
What do you? What do you say?
Speaker 11 (31:41):
Well?
Speaker 3 (31:41):
Now, is this going to be like the three items tack?
Speaker 8 (31:45):
Or is this it's just on the I have one
thousand dollars thousand dollars for three items.
Speaker 10 (31:52):
Well, it's okay, all right, how's the bird?
Speaker 7 (31:57):
Great?
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Great? All right, Bella, I'm.
Speaker 10 (32:00):
I'm gonna say thirty thirty one, thirty one, Yes, I'm almighty,
step food.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
The price difference between those.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Three items a chicken, a bottle of vodka, and a
GALLONUS distilled water twelve bucks. Twelve bucks, all right. The
actual we got Maddie in here, well, Maddie, all right, Matt,
what's the difference?
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Eighteen bucks? Eighteen bucks?
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Okay, the actual difference is ten dollars.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Steph foosh got it?
Speaker 3 (32:28):
Yeah, the foosh onon ten bucks. So Angel was way off.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
Yeah, the chicken was eight dollars more. The teto's was
four No, wait it was a little more than that.
Then wait, I didn't wait right, Matt, hold them in sex,
hold sick. It was eight dollars on the chicken, No,
six thousand chicken, eight dollars on the vanka, and one dollars.
So it is fifteen total, fifteen bucks. But that's a
(32:54):
big difference, you know, three items. Yeah, all right, and
then this lad's getting is as again, Edwin, sorry, Edwin,
that's what's going on.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Bill Kelly is here. How you Bob doing well? What's
the special occasion?
Speaker 7 (33:08):
Tim?
Speaker 12 (33:08):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Well, oh the champagne. No, I'm talking about the shirt.
I thought, you know, new management might as well look like.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
I own something I dressed up for new management. Got it,
got it, a couple of things. Yeah, you'll you'll find out,
I think tomorrow. Uh, you never know, you know, you
come in every look. I came in on Monday to
(33:36):
talk about this fire because I watched it at home
and I said, I'm only a mile from the station.
I got nothing to do, good excuse to get out
of the house. And I came in and they were
they were grateful. But I will say this, the reason
why I came in is one, I love breaking news.
But two, there's gonna be a day where they'll tell
me not to come in anymore.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Oh, all jobs come to an end. Yeah, father time
takes over.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
And like when when I and invites me to be
a like with you, when somebody invites you to MC
an event, you always say yes. Because there's gonna be
a day where they don't ask you anymore. That phone
will stop ringing, right, And and I feel flattered, like
I got a call the.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Other day that they want me to do.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
The the awards for the Huntington Beach Police Department. I
was thrilled, you know that they even thought of me
for doing that. So I'm gonna do it in March.
What's on the Big show Night Bub.
Speaker 10 (34:25):
Of course, we're going to give the fire update for
the Franklin fire, give the latest on that. I have
some thoughts on this strange phenomena of how some people,
a lot of people are trying to make Luigi Mangoni
a martyr.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Yeah, it's not wild. It's wild.
Speaker 10 (34:41):
It's sick, but I think it's inndictive of something else
going on in society.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
I think you're right. I was listen to you last
night and I did the same thing. I think you're smart.
You you have a blanket something that you hate in life.
Yours last night was they call me on the text. Yes,
And you have no idea how many or how fewer
texts you're going to now start to get, because that
because everyone who knows you thinks you're talking about them.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
That's the whole point. That was the point.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
I've done that in the past, and mandas that diminished
the amount of text you get.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
It's almost like you're in church. You think the minister
is always preaching about what you did last night exactly
and call me how arrogant? Is that? Right?
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Stop what you're doing. Yeah, your life isn't worth a damn.
I'm I am much better than you.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
You call me with no context. Don't tell me why
or what I wouldn't do.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
If my wife did that, I'd be pissed, you know,
because when when your wife or husband says, call me,
it's an emergency. You know, that's my assumption. That's what
I thought it was. You know it was, But I
I the text I think is being abused. I think
people are You know, normally you wouldn't have twenty things
to say to somebody in a day. No, And but
yet you know you can text them twenty four hours
a day and get right into their reach them.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
You know, they could be in a meeting, they could
be in the gen that doesn't matter. That's exactly right.
I'll be listening as usual.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
