Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's KFI AM six forty and you're listening to the
Conway Show on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Brain is coming in.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Yes, we just heard from fire Captain Steve Kreeger, La
County Fire retired said they go out and they check
those fire hydrants all the time.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
But what can they do.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
They go out and check them and then they write
a report and then they're supposed to repair them. Not
the firemen, the city is supposed to repair them. But
let me give you this address again in this website.
This is very important, so you can check the fire
hydrants in your neighborhood. All right, you're ready, You got
a pen, paper, maybe you got your I don't know,
you're not driving, so you got your your cell phone open.
(00:43):
Here it is again, here's the web address on how
you can get information on your fire hydrant that's nearest
to your home. All right, nearest to your home. And
you got to know where that is too, that fire hydrant.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Well we all want to know, right, you have a
hydrant in front of your house. You think you're pretty safe.
We created an interactive and you can go to it
on kkalnews dot com and you can look up your address,
Go down and see if it's one of the hydrants
in question.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
We just don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
Kkalnews dot com.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
Do you hear that? Kkalnews dot com.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
Kkalnews dot com.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
K calnews dot com and check out your hydrant. You
know a friend of mine is a real estate guy.
You know, I'm not bragging, but you know you've developed
friendships over the years. And he said a lot of
people who are buying homes sense the fire One of
the questions that he's never heard before and now he
(01:34):
hears from every home buyer. How close is the nearest
fire station? How close is your nearest fire station? Krozer,
Let's start with you. Are you aware of where your
nearest fire station is?
Speaker 4 (01:48):
I think I know where it is.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I think I've been to your house and it's literally
like two blocks away on that main street up there.
Speaker 6 (01:54):
Uh Na, I see, I know where you're talking about
as a public works building. Yes, but down yes, there is
absolutely at least a couple that are right near me.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Oh so you have less than a mile from okay
near your nearest fire station. Yes, stephas where's your nearest
fire station to your home? Do you know I assured
you how far it's probably like maybe half a mile.
It's pretty close.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Oh that's great.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Yeah, all right, Bellio, where's your nearest fire station in Irvine?
It's probably right there in your house. They take pretty
good care.
Speaker 7 (02:26):
People take very good care. It's literally like a block away.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
A block yeah wow, all right? And Angel, where is
your nearest fire station? I think everyone should know that.
Speaker 8 (02:37):
Yeah, mine is super close. It's about maybe half a
mile away at the most.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Is that right? Yes, that's great. All right, that's terrific.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
So know where your nearest fire station is. It also
helps when you buy a home or sell a home,
the closer it is to a fire station, I think,
the more comfortable that the new inhabitants, the new family
that's going to move in, is going to feel comfortable
when you sell them that house. So find out if
your fire hydrant is working, and so that's really important. Look,
(03:08):
we can't rely on the city to help us out anymore.
If you live in the city of la They're just
not going to do it. They've proven they can't and
they're not going to do it. So it's up to you.
It's up to you. Now, you've got one more thing
to do. You got to put another to do on
your to do list and find out what's going on
with your fire hydrant, because you look, you're in charge
(03:28):
of protecting your family. Whether it's the mom or dad,
whether it's the grandparents, the uncle, whoever's in charge of
protecting that house. There's always one person in a household
that is that is in charge of protecting the home.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Always.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
It always goes down to one person. In my house,
it's me and my wife and my daughter have no
say in how I protect that family very little. I'm
sort of crazy with people breaking in. I really don't
like them. So I put up I bought these bars.
I don't know what they're called, but it goes from
the ground to the handle of the door and you
(04:04):
stick them in at night. And I put them in
there at night, and it's almost impossible to break that
door open unless you're really really strong or you got
an axe. It's really hard to break that door open. Yes,
it's just a door security bars.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Yeah, right, that's what.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Yeah, that's And I put those up every night, and
my wife and daughter hate them because they trip over
them all the time because you know, they are extended
out from the door. And my wife gets constantly running there,
and she goes, do we have to put these up?
And I said, sweetie, I protect the home and it's
my job and those things just staying up. I'm a
(04:39):
little crazy that way though. I have all of our windows.
You know those those a crocer You've seen these at
hardware stores. You know those, They're about three feet long,
round wood and you put them in the doors, in
the windows so you can't open the windows. I have
those in every window, every single window. So I'm protecting
that house. You've got to protect your house too. Go
(05:00):
to this website and see where what's up with your
fire hydrant Ekalnews dot com, Kcalnews dot com.
Speaker 7 (05:05):
Ekalnews dot com.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Kcalnews dot com and check out your fire hydrant Rick
D's I consider a very good friend of mine. He
sent me this audio then, I think is great and
it does tell you something about your relationship.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Listen to this. This is terrific.
Speaker 9 (05:26):
There comes a time and every new romance to have
the talk.
Speaker 4 (05:32):
The talk.
Speaker 9 (05:33):
No, no, no, not the one about meeting the family
or whatever else. We're talking about, the one about sharing
your GPS coordinates and your passwords, giving your partner a
window and to where you are at all times. That's
got to get into your mobile device. Is really the talk?
(05:54):
That's right When one partner says, uh, I don't know
if I want you to know where I am all
the time, the other partner says why not? One partner says,
why shouldn't I be able to see your emails and
your texts? What are you hiding from me?
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yeah, it's sticky. It's a sticky conversation or not?
Speaker 9 (06:14):
That is the talk, and you have to ask yourself,
is it still possible to be deeply in love and
not share your GPS location or your passwords? That is
the talk. Rick D's reporting on the talk.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
That's great, you know once that's one of those things
that once you give it up, you can't get it back,
Like if you have separate checking accounts from your wife
or husband, bed partner, lover, same sex, opposite sex, like
everything everything. If you give up your freedom with a
with your own checking and savings account and then you
(06:57):
just have a joint savings and checking account, you can
never go back once you've combined funds. There's no way
you can go back to your own checking account or
your own savings account. It ain't happening, and once you
give her or him your password or you know the
(07:17):
GPS locator, I guess you know the okay to follow
you on GPS.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
You can't get that back. You can't do it.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
I don't follow my wife on GPS, and she doesn't
follow me. My wife and daughter follow each other on GPS,
and I like that. You know, they know where they are.
And my daughter has nothing to hide. She never she's great,
she doesn't, you know, and I never worried about you know,
she go in place where she shouldn't be or whatever.
(07:48):
By to share kat belly. Let me ask you, because
I think you're you know the fluke here? Do you
have John's GPS?
Speaker 8 (07:56):
Like?
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Could you turn on your cell phone and know where
he is right now?
Speaker 10 (08:00):
No?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
You It sounds like you want that though, No I don't.
You don't want that.
Speaker 10 (08:05):
No?
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Can he turn on his cell phone and find out
where you are? No?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
So quick?
Speaker 7 (08:11):
No?
Speaker 3 (08:12):
So quick? What about you crows? You can you find
out where jenn is on GPS? H?
Speaker 7 (08:18):
I believe so?
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Really? Yeah? Wow, look at you lovers love birds?
Speaker 9 (08:25):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (08:26):
Yes, I know exactly. She's at home right now. That's great.
Speaker 7 (08:30):
So is this something I should do for safety purposes.
Speaker 11 (08:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
I don't know. That's pretty much our reason.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Yeah, here's now here's a safety thing for you. Here's
a safety tip for you that I learned years ago.
Whenever you call John Bellio, never speed dial up. Always
call him by his phone number, his ten digit phone number.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
And why is that?
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Just because if you ever lose your phone you don't remember,
you wouldn't remember his number, you know, if you had
to call him an emergency and lost your phone.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Yeah, do you know his numbers?
Speaker 7 (09:02):
I do?
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Actually, there's like three phone numbers.
Speaker 9 (09:05):
I know.
Speaker 7 (09:05):
There's I was just thinking of that.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
There's uh, yeah, I know my daughters, my wife's and
David Mosekian.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
How about that.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
That's all I don't know. I don't know Robbie five. Oh,
my sister Kelly, I know her. I know four numbers.
I don't know Krozier's. I don't know Steph Fu's. I
don't know Bellio's, I don't know Angels. I don't know
anybody at KFI. If you said call anybody at KFI,
i'd be youerd. I couldn't call a single person.
Speaker 7 (09:33):
You know the hot line number, right?
Speaker 4 (09:35):
I don't even know the hot line number, you know
the back line number. I've not memorized that. I don't
know any numbers.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
I know if there's emergency nine to one one, and
then I know my sister, my daughter, my wife, and
a buddy.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Lo was an Orange County.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
I saw a guy who changed his uh like his
friend's number to a girl's name so that when his
wife saw it, she would bring the phone to him, going.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Who's this was just a friend?
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Sure, friends, Why did you do that so you'd.
Speaker 9 (10:09):
Bring the phone to.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
A great way on the phone delivered?
Speaker 2 (10:15):
You know.
Speaker 8 (10:15):
I don't remember any new numbers except for like my
mother's cell phone number and my own. And the other
two numbers that I know is my landline from when
I was growing up and my best friend's landline from
when during that same time.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
I know Mike Hennessey's number from when third grade, and
I know Matt McDaniels from third grade. And I know
my number at my when I grew up in the
house when I was in third grade.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
I know all three of those.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Numbers, but I don't know any current numbers outside of
those four. My wife, daughter, my sister, and David Mosekin
for some reason.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
I don't know why I know David Mosequin's number, But.
Speaker 7 (10:53):
Do you know the number of when we take a break.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Oh yeah, it's right now.
Speaker 11 (11:00):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
You've got to be aware tomorrow of the heavy rain.
I can't stress this enough. It's gonna be heavy. It's
gonna last for three to four hours. No matter what
area you're in. It's gonna happen sooner in the valley
than it is in Orange County. Three to seven pm
in the San Fernando Valley, about two to six pm
along the coast Malibu Palisades area, and then in Orange
(11:28):
County six to nine pm will be your witching hour
when it comes to a horrible, nasty rain. And if
you look at at the weather Doppler, the radar, this
is a massive, big storm coming in, fast moving. It's
not gonna rain for twenty four hours, but the real
heavy rain will last for three to four hours. And
(11:49):
you'll note it. You'll notice very it'll be very evident
that we have a lot of rain going on, tons
of it. La River's gonna fill up streets are gonna
fill up. There going to be a lot of flooding.
There's gonna be you know, the five freeway out in
sun Suthern area, that's going to back up.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
That always does. They have been able to correct that.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
There's gonna be freeway flooding, There's gonna be street flooding,
there's gonna be flooding in the mountains. There's gonna be
some mud slides. It's going to be an event, and
so you have to be aware that this could happen
to you and your home. So just be aware of it.
Don't freak out, but be aware of it. And there
there might be some evacuations. We haven't had those since
(12:31):
the fires, but we might have mandatory evacuations in some
of these areas, and you've got to be aware of
that as well.
Speaker 12 (12:38):
I've already seen a lot of drizzle throughout the Malibu
and the Palisades area so far this morning, and a
big area of concern with this incoming storm or areas
just like this with hills behind me. You can see
the vegetation here has burned, which means a lot of
the roots that were once holding all that soil in
place are no longer there. So with a lot of
(12:58):
water that could come down, this hillside could come down
with it. And we're seeing a good example of that
already with this water here behind me, just trickling on
down through. Yeah, only light rain in the Palisades Wednesday morning,
but already run off is scene dripping down bird slopes.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Me cruise with plow mounted trucks will be patrolling twenty
four seven.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah, we're gonna have plows plows out there. It's gonna
be rough, all right. We'll continue with it all throughout
the night here and then into tomorrow with these rain reports.
David Vat saying with the Los Angeles Dodgers is with
us the say hey kid, David, welcome to KFI.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Bob Hey, great to be here with you, guys. I'm
at the sports at LA Studios and just got a
standing ovation. Wow the bay crew here. I never get
that when I walk through the iHeart doors over there.
Wait a minute here for sure?
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Who gave you the standing ovation?
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Oh? We got the pas, the producers here, the sound people,
they're all here standing ovation walking through the studio doors.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
And where are the studio Magic Mike is his name?
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Magic Mike love Magic, Mike. Where is Where are the studios?
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Elsegundo? It took me nearly two hours to get down
here today, Conway. The traffic from the West Valley because
obviously the PCH being closed down. Everybody's teaking the one
on one east to the four five.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Hey, so let me ask you a question, Bob. The
studios are.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
That's where the Dodgers broadcast out of Elsegundo.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
The studio shows with John Harding, No mar those guys.
That's where their base is in El Segundo. And right
down the hall is the Lakers studio where they had
the halftime, pre and post studios here with James Worthy
and Geeter McGee and those guys.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Hey, let me ask you a question, buddy, because I
might lose a car. I bet pink slips with John Colebelt.
He took the Mets to win the World Series. I
took the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I mean tell John, I mean the court nineteen eighty six.
It was a long time ago. Dwight Good is not
walking through that door, all right? What kind of car
does he have? Conway?
Speaker 3 (15:10):
He wouldn't tell me, but it's got to be better
than my navigator from you know, two thousand and seven.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Hey, be ready in October to get that pink slit
from him.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Hey, I know we like to talk about sports and
keeping it light. I love talking with Dodgers with you.
I'm a big Dodger fan from when I was a youngster.
My first game was in nineteen sixty nine, which is
before you were born. But there's another issue on the
table here that I think is really important. Without stating
where you live in your area, they're talking about taking
(15:41):
a lot of this debris from the fires and dumping
it in your backyard.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Is that true?
Speaker 2 (15:47):
That's true, Tim. It's become a quite a talking point
in the neighborhood. I live within about a mile of
the Calabasas Landfill, which is at the top of Lost
Hills Road, and there's a lot of Pepperdine students that
rent condos their homes there. And there's a big community
(16:08):
at the north part of Calabasas, not the Kardashian part.
This is South Agora, North Calabasas off of Lost Hills,
and the La County supervisors are trying to fast track
taking the hazardous debris from the unfortunate Palisades fire and
dumping it in the Calabasas Landfill, and tonight at seven o'clock,
(16:30):
the Calabasas City Council is having an open hearing to
try to come up with a plan quickly to try
to push back on this. And I have to side
with them because isn't there a vast desert waste somewhere
that they can transport that hazardous debris instead of putting
it in a landfill where you know, millions of people
(16:52):
will breathe it in surrounding that landfill, right, and you.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Have young kids to worry about as well.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Young kids. There a lot of young families in that area. Tim,
I love not even aware of how many homes and
communities and young people. That there's a school multiple, there's
a high school, there's a couple of grade schools, and
we're going to breathe that in. It's very concerning. And
talking to the former mayor of Calabasas and now part
(17:20):
of the Calabasas City Council, Alicia Wintrob and credit to
her for sending back a personal email, it's concerning because
the La County Supervisors are trying to fast track this
and whenever you know the government tries to do something
like that. You know, they don't want any pushback, but
tonight there's going to be and there has been a
(17:41):
lot of pushbacks from the residents of that area.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Good.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
I think everybody in Calabasa should show up tonight. Where
is that meeting at seven.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
At Calabasas City Hall. That's where it's going to be. Okay,
But I think here on sports and at LA right.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Look, if you have a job and you can't go,
I get that. But if you're home and and you
can make that, you know, the more voices heard, the
more the city council reacts to it.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Without a doubt, Tim, it's purely concerning and I just
feel like there's a lot of other options out there,
and it doesn't necessarily have to be a quick fix.
That's just over the hill out of convenience to dump
hazardous debris from a devastating fire in people's backyard, that's right.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
And look, I know you have the biggest heart, your
wife does, and your kids are are very, very beautiful kids,
and you don't want to inconvenience anybody in the burnscar
areas more than they have been. I understand that. But
to throw all that debris in your backyard. When there's
all these young families with young kids out there, young lungs,
(18:46):
young lives, young brains, young hearts who are developing. They
you can't take that risk of putting that crap in
your backyard.
Speaker 9 (18:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
You know what's incredible, Tim, is that they built off
the one oh one right by this landfill an overpass
for animals to cross over the freeway. But now they're
going to decide to throw hazardous fire debris in that
same area where they're supposedly trying to protect animals. And
obviously you got to be concerned about the welfare of
human beings. But you know, obviously the debris has to
(19:20):
go somewhere. I just feel like there's got to be
a remote area somewhere in the Mohave Desert that, you know,
might be a better location than putting it in a
community that is surrounding this landfill.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
I think you're right.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Tonight, Calabasas City Hall at seven pm. You know, David,
I'm I don't run the city of La or La County,
but I will say this, if I were running La
County or Ventura County, instead of putting an overpass for
three or four mountain Lions and spending one hundred and
twenty six million dollars. I would have put that into
(19:54):
the thirteen hundred fire hydra thirteen hundred fire hydrants that
need repair or being replaced.
Speaker 9 (20:01):
That's me.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Yeah, yeah, I hear you, Tim, I hear you for
sure on that, buddy. I hope down to you, my friend.
All right?
Speaker 4 (20:09):
Can you stay? You got to go? No, I could stay,
all right, hold on secon one second.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Davids is with us. We'll talk more about the Dodgers
when we come back. He's a huge part of the
Dodgers and they got a great team this year. We'll
chat chat about that as well.
Speaker 11 (20:21):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
David Vassy is with us with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Uh vassay, how is the stadium and the construction of
the stadium and think they're gonna have it done by opening.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Day without a doubt. Tim. It helps the Dodgers are
starting the season in Tokyo, Japan. First two games of
the regular season are in Tokyo, Japan, so that buys
the Dodgers and the construction crew a little extra time
and Opening Day for the first time ever will be
against the Detroit Tigers. That's not something that has ever
(21:01):
happened before. And the ring ceremony will be the day
after Opening Day at Dodgers Stadium.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
And who are they playing in Japan? Are they playing
the Padres?
Speaker 2 (21:12):
The Chicago Cubs. Wow, Chicago Cubs who have two Japanese
players on their teams. Established Japanese players, their right fielder
Sayes Suzuki who broke in two years ago, and last
year one of the better rookie pitchers, left hander Shota Imanaga.
And the Dodgers and Cubs are really delivering because Dave
(21:34):
Roberts said today that both Japanese starting pitchers the Dodgers
have on their roster that are healthy, Yoshi Yamamoto and
Roki Sazaki, will start those two games in Tokyo, Japan
at the Tokyo Dome. Shoe a Otani is still recovering
from not only a left shoulder surgery but also his
(21:55):
second elbow surgery, so he's not expected to pitch for
the Dodgers until.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
And what's with the with the influx of Japanese players,
Have they gotten better over the last decade or are
there are you know, teams in the United States just
trying to sort of expand into, you know, different countries
and make it a worldwide sport.
Speaker 9 (22:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Well, I think it's a little bit of both, Tim.
Number one, Obviously, Tokyo Japan a great marketing business opportunity
for teams if they get the right player, especially if
you're the Dodgers with shoey Otani. But also it just
feels like players there are getting much better, especially in
the pitching category. That's where most Japanese players. Pitchers really succeed.
(22:41):
The hitters are far and few between, but the pitchers
seem to really stick in the Big League.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
You know, I can't imagine, you know, two teams that
are more popular opening up in Japan. I think the
Cubs have a huge following in Japan and the Dodgers
as well.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
That's gonna be the hottest ticket in that country.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
It really is, Tim, it's going to be. You know,
I went to South Korea with the Dodgers last year,
and the anticipation for those games is not nearly what
this series is drawing already. When the Dodgers, when the
Dodgers and Cubs announced that they were going to open
up this season in Tokyo, Japan. That happened midway through
(23:24):
last year, and as soon as that came out, people
were already booking trips to try to be there for
this series. So obviously it's not just about Dodgers and
the Cubs in Tokyo. It's about the fact that Shoho Tani,
the biggest star in that country, is going back home
wearing a Dodger uniform. They're playing in the Tokyo Dome,
(23:46):
which holds fifty thousand plus.
Speaker 9 (23:49):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Hey, give me a one name.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Who is the funniest guy that makes you laugh the
most on the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
I would say it's Blake Snell, the newest Dodger. I've
known him the last couple of years with the Padres.
He's unintentionally funny and doesn't drink alcohol. He loves Shirley Temple,
that's all he'll drink.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Okay, all right, one years old him and.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
He orders a Shirley Temple at dinner.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
I know, I thought it's odd that you know when
kids do it after age twelve, but that's that's wild.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
Just think about me and Blake Snell being at Korean
barbecue in all hambro Great, and I order a picture
of Sapporo and this guy's drinking the Shirley Temple.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
All right, the meeting Calabasas City Hall that's near the Commons,
isn't it just north of the.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Commons exactly, the Calabasas Commons, which is owned also and
developed by Rick Caruso.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
Yeah, we're gonna have Rick on the show tomorrow. Rick
Ruz is coming on to tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
Great guy, level headed, seems to have a plan. Big
fan of Rick Ruso. And I just I just hope that,
you know, people's voices will be heard and hopefully the
Calabasas City Council can really show some leadership here to
be able to push back on La County for trying
(25:13):
to dump hazardous fire debris material with the landfill that's
above Lost Hills Road.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Yeah, for people who don't know where that is, if
you get off at Lost Virgins and turned right, it's
on the left hand side there. If you get at
Lost Hills you turn right, it's on the north side
of the one O one freeway right between Lost Hills
and Lost Virginis a lot of people don't even know
there's a landfill up there.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
I know I had to. I was made aware of
it when we bought our home down the hill from there,
and it was a little you know, concerning that you're
that close to a landfill. But I lived in West
Hills where we were very close to the old Rocket
Dyne plant site in Susanna Pass, and I was like, oh,
we're getting out of here. Family.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Yeah, well you couldn't buy that house at Santa Nofrey.
That wasn't available.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
No, No, it wasn't It wasn't available. I don't see
the inside of my house at often anyway, Tim, I'm
usually seeking outside with the dogs.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
I get it. Buddy, you're the best.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
You're a great dad, you're a great husband, You're great
with the Dodgers. And we're gonna keep promoting this thing
seven o'clock tonight at Calabasas City Hall.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Thanks Conway, along with you, dude.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
All right, there, he goes David Van say, with the
La Dodgers. Dodgers might win one hundred and twenty games
this year, one hundred and twenty games this year. They
may win one hundred and sixty two games this year.
That's possible as well. These Dodgers are loaded, loaded and
there's like an All Star team going out to see
(26:41):
an All Star team every single night. Right we're live.
Don't forget Calabasas City Hall tonight, seven o'clock. You're on
your way home, show up, show up. The more numbers,
the easier it is to get your way. So go
to that meeting at seven o'clock, even if you're late,
half hour or late hour late, show up and do
(27:02):
it for your kids.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Don't sit at home and complain. Go to the city
hall tonight.
Speaker 11 (27:08):
You're listening to Tim Conway Junior on demand from KFI
AM six forty.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Don't forget that Calabasas meeting tonight, Calabasas City Hall. They
are threatening to put some of the debris into the
Calabasas Landfill.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Which is north of there.
Speaker 3 (27:27):
It's right at Los Virgins if you get it, if
you get off at Lost Hills Road and you turn right,
if you're going northbound on the one O one, it's
right at the end of that road. Calabasas Landfill, Saratoga
Ranches in that area, Saratoga Hills, and you don't want
your kids or your family breathing that stuff in, So
(27:48):
show up at city Hall. I can't imagine anything more
important that you're doing tonight in Calabasas. And I might
slide out there just to take pictures and do a
head count. And if there's not enough people at that meeting,
then I'm gonna stop talking about it as well. If
you're not interested in keeping your area safe for your kids,
(28:09):
how can I be interested? So don't make me slide
out there with a camera and take photos. If I
get out there and it's half empty, I'm out. If
it's full, we'll keep talking about it. So I'm threatening
to get out there. Is there a Walmart in that
area like Walmart's? Is there a Walmart?
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Probably not? I bet people in Calabasas don't even know
Walmart exists?
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Like Walmart? What is that a fish? What is that a?
Is that a What is that a rocket? What is Walmart?
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Is that a? Is that a golf course?
Speaker 7 (28:44):
Is that where you get walls?
Speaker 9 (28:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Right?
Speaker 4 (28:47):
You shop shop around and get some walls. Yeah, I'll
take an interior to interiors nextterior? What else you got here?
Speaker 10 (28:53):
Man?
Speaker 4 (28:54):
I bet there's not a Walmart?
Speaker 2 (28:55):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (28:56):
No, I know.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
I know where the nearest Walmart is to there, West Hills. Yeah,
there's one off West Till's. There's one right where the
Burlington Coat Factory, which I believe they've changed their name,
but there's a Burlington Coat Factory in that area, and
that's where I think the nearest Walmart is there. I
think it's off of like Victory in Fallbrook or Victor
(29:19):
van Owen and Fallbrook. I know there's a Walmart out
there because I've been to that Walmart. I was at
that Walmart with Doug Steckler. God only knows why we
were at that Walmart, but I remember coming out of
that Walmart with Doug Steckler, my old radio partner, and
the lady said, can I check your receipt? And Doug
looked at her and said, ma'am, with all due respect,
(29:42):
there's nothing in there worth taking.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Geez, that's a great line.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
That's a great laughed.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
She laughed and let him go because I looked like,
you're like a lunatic.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Is crazy crazy, But that's why we all loved him.
Speaker 3 (29:58):
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the nominees have
been revealed.
Speaker 4 (30:02):

Speaker 13 (30:04):
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Hot off the press.

Speaker 2 (30:09):

Speaker 13 (30:10):

Speaker 4 (30:12):
Oh, Bad Company. I love bad Company.
Speaker 13 (30:15):
Bad Company, the Black Crows, Mariah Carrie, Chubby Checker finally
gets in Wow or at least nominated Joe Cockerbilly Idol
Joy Division.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Which became Well Billy Idol I mean Billy Idle.
Speaker 13 (30:25):
Joy Division, which became New Order. Then he got Cidey
lapper mana.
Speaker 3 (30:28):

Speaker 13 (30:36):
Or at least nominated Joe Cockerbilly Idol Joy Division, which
became New Order. Then he got Cidey lauper manah Oasis,
Outcast Fish, Soundguard, and the White Stripes.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
That's a good list right now.
Speaker 13 (30:46):
Eight of those are appearing on the ballot for the
first time. The twenty twenty five inductees will be revealed
in late April.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Good luck, it's got a text. Yeah that Walmart's on
Victory and Fallbrook. Okay, all right, I got pretty close. Oh,
as a matter of fact, I nailed it. How about
that Victory and faulber there's a Walmart out there, Home Depot, Target,
all my stores are right there. I could literally get
an apartment on Victory and Fallbrook and be in walking
(31:14):
distance at every store I go to.
Speaker 7 (31:17):
Yes, But are your restaurants there?
Speaker 4 (31:19):
I don't know. I think there's a Red Lobster out there.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
Is that right, Barby's Del Taco, any of those?
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Nah, there's a Chili's I remember, I remember an Ihop.
I know there's a new Trader Joe somewhere in that area.
Might not be right there, but I know there's a
Trader Joe somewhere in that neighborhood. But then there's the
stores that I never go to, you know, like I'm
not a world market guy. I've never got into that.
I don't know what they do there. They sell sort
of everything that I don't buy. Hate to say that,
(31:46):
but I know, And I'm sure there's a pet Co
or pet Mart or Pets Go or How's your Pet?
Speaker 7 (31:53):
You don't go to How's your Pets?
Speaker 4 (31:56):
No, but I'll go to that one.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
But there's got to be a big pet store and
pets pets, Yeah, yeah, lots of pets.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
How's your pets. It's not your pet, it's gonna be
your pet. It's pets.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
But there's anytime there's a home depot, I think there's
a target out there as well. But anytime there's a
home depot and a and a Walmart, you are guaranteed
there's a major pet store within you know, a mile
of that joint. But I know there's a Chick fil
A out there. Oh well, how about this? I remember this.
One of my favorite Jack in the box is out
(32:29):
there on Fallbrook. It's on it's on Victory, just east
of Fallbrook, and I would drive there from Tarzana and
I'd pass four different Jack in the Boxes to get
to that one because I knew the tacos were always hot.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
That's the key to Jack in the box. Tacos hot.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
And you like the grill at certain yes, right, yeah,
I'm a I'm a big King Taco. As long as
the grill has been seasoned, I give When a Kingtoko
opens up, I give me a year.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
To season that grill and then I slide in there.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Like when the one at Glendelle opened up, I didn't
go there initially because I knew that grill was in season.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
It was not going to be sensational.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
But all the other ones, the one on Broadway, the
one on First Street, the one now on near Dodger Stadium,
which is one of the original King Tacos, the one
on the seven to ten and the ninety Freeway right there.
That's another great one. That's one of the original ones.
That's a great King Taco. The one in Pasadena that's
been seasoned, that's another great one.
Speaker 10 (33:32):
Gotta I gotta slow down. My entire diet is King Taco.
I know where all these King Tacos are. I'm gonna massive,
massive heart attacks.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
I we're live on KFO. We'll come back. Weather Weather
