(00:20):
the Troubleshooter Show. Now Tom Martino. I Hello, I'm Tom Martino.
Welcome to the show. Here tohelp you solve problems. Answerr question take
canlace make your life a little easier? That's what we try to do each
and every day. This are broughtto you by Water Pros for water at
your Drinking Sinc. Don't buy atyour kitchen Sinc. Don't buy bottled water
(00:42):
ever again Fully install fourteen hundred bucksthree oh three eight six two five five
five four And plumb Line Services iswith us too, speaking of water.
Plumb Line of course, as thename implies, they do plumbing, but
they do heat and cooling, electricdrains. Home services. We call that
and Bob. The challenge in thehome services business right now that I've heard,
(01:03):
and I've been talking to some industryleaders, and the reason I've been
talking about them is I'm always fascinatedby keeping up with trends. I don't
know why, but somebody told methat the trend has to be direct,
and it is not good for servicecompanies, but more a more direct model
to consumers or a way to cutdown on the trips to consumers' homes.
(01:26):
For example, let's talk HVAC.There's never been an easy model. I
know price Fixer tried it and itkind of failed because people didn't know what
to order, how to order. They always had to have a tech come
anyway and make the corrections to theorder. But Amazon and Google, as
you probably know, have been experimenting. If they haven't done it, I
(01:49):
mean, they have been trying todo a model where a consumer truly can
go online and order a furnace oran ac. Now here's the problem.
First, do you need a furnaceracing? You may not need one,
right, so you order one? Why? I mean when, first of
all, consumer doesn't know when theyneed a replacement, right, That's one
problem right there. But then they'reusing artificial intelligence. I saw a demonstration.
(02:15):
Somebody wanted me to know what wasgoing on, and there was a
demonstration, and this demonstration showed aperson answering questions and with a literally with
a serial number and model of theirunit, and questions where the AI could
discern based on age symptoms, serialnumber, if they should the percentage of
(02:42):
you should replace or not, andliterally what that system by their zip code
is costing them, and then whatthe new system literally right to the penny
will save them. It's fascinating. So so really they can make the choice
without someone stepping in their home.Think about that. So they say we
(03:06):
need you need one or this iswhat you'll say. So if you want
to move forward, here's what youdo. And then they say this,
we will also send a tech onceyou order and pay to see if you
really do need it. I meanlike there's a rare time these questions might
not pan out, but you're talkingto AI, they make an appointment,
(03:28):
they have the equipment, and youget one visit to confirm and it's done.
Then you go on. This isof course all right now in testing.
And when I say testing, it'snot even really testing. They don't
really have people doing it right now. But when I say testing, maybe
(03:49):
I mean just in the sky. They're just thinking about this, but they
have people pretending. So then youpick an installer who is on an app
app Once you confirm, so youhad a guy come and check and then
who knows, he just goes aroundchecking a final check. Now you have
(04:09):
the installer, come and install it. Like Uber. You pick the day.
You can get up in the morningand say I think I want to
install it today. You don't haveto make an appointment. You pick the
guy. They already have your ordernumber. That guy goes and get your
stuff and delivers and installs it.Now incredible. So it's like going to
(04:30):
Amazon or Google or some other companyand doing it all like that. Do
you see that happening someday? Youknow, Artificial intelligence is fascinating to me,
and we're always looking at ways wecan implement it into our business.
But and I don't want to beso naive to think that it won't work.
It's a complicated business. Every greatevery great vision, every great business
(04:54):
in the world. Somebody said itwouldn't work, right. Someone wants to
simplify this. The challenges I SAthere is, as we talk about all
the time. You can buy thebest piece of equipment money will buy.
If it's not installed properly, itwon't function properly. It might be unsaved.
No, right, you're vetting out, you know, you know,
well, supposedly this app would belike an Uber. So they're going to
(05:16):
vet out the suppliers and have nationaldeals and they're going to vet out installers
obviously, just like you vet amount. That's what they say they'll do.
Now again, none of this isactually happening, but it will, it
will, it's it's it's probably thefuture of our industry. In fact,
I believe direct to consumer. WhenI say direct, it's not really direct
(05:36):
the people who run the app.It might be a big company, like
a big consolidator, a big privateequity that does this, and they use
all of their affiliates around the countryto fulfill the orders. They might want
a piece of both action personal, just like a gas stations phased in self
service. They had full service andself service, then someone fully self service.
(05:57):
Others stayed with the with the model, with the hybrid. So here's
the other big challenge I see withthat. And regardless of how good the
technology is and how good the companyis, people naturally are not proactive that
way. And you're you know, you're right, gonna you're right about even
if they have because if they getup in their firm, business was seamless
and they're gonna wait till a break, and if they get up and have
(06:19):
no heat, they're not gonna goon an app and go through the questions
and hope they can, although theycould. But here's the deal. If
they there is a contingency for that. If they got up and they have
no heat, they get on andthey ask questions again and again, the
AI tries to direct them toward thepercentages of whether you should replace or not.
(06:42):
And you guys do that. Everyonedoes it. I'm not saying that's
a bad thing. You don't goout saying we're just gonna sell this person
new system no matter what. Younever do that. I know you guys
don't because you know that if youcan make it work for someone and it
doesn't cost them too much, they'regonna call you when they do need a
replacement. That's correct, you know, if you're planting seeds, but the
AI will skew toward should you replace, and if not, then the uber
(07:05):
I call it this home services kindof app then would direct them to a
technician. So you have the technicianswho come and confirm, you have technicians
who come and fix, and youhave technicians who come and install, and
they're all on this app pre screen. Again, this is all a dream
(07:25):
right now. But as you said, everyone will eventually have to change the
way they do business. Bob,I never stepped foot in a store,
never, never anymore, I hardlydo either. Everything I want I get
delivered. And you know what, for those who are of the Church of
climate change, and again, I'mnot going to make fun of you,
(07:46):
I just did by saying that. But if you are of that ilk,
you know what. Shopping like Ido, I'm not contributing to the carbon
footprint. I believe that if wechange our lifestyles and just start ordering stuff.
Now, there are those who willnever do that. They want to
(08:07):
go to a store, they wantto touch, they want to feel,
and obviously it's kind of cheating whenyou go to a guy who's paying the
rent and paying the bricks and mortarand you touch and feel and then go
buy online. That's kind of takingadvantage of people. But they have to
have another model for that too, like not everyone is going to buy without
(08:28):
touching and feeling. Now, inthe supermarket, it's easy, you go
and you know, Wheedies is Wheaties. It doesn't matter. You know,
ketchup as ketchup. You just pickthe brand you want. But when it
comes to clothing, I don't knowif that will ever happen, although usually
people who shop clothing already know whatthey want or they like the design or
something. Usually, and now youhave a lot of these services that send
(08:50):
it to you risk free. Youhave so many days to try them on
and send them back in the samebox. But I believe in the future
everything bricks and mortar for shopping isgoing to be almost a thing of the
past, just like offices, justfor people sitting there. Our whole lives
are with technology. Our entire landscapeis changing. Working at home will be
(09:16):
the norm for the jobs that youcan do at home. Right I believe
you're going to see a doctor's visitsonce again, our nurse practitioners. I
believe you're going to see more virtualdoctor's visits. I believe and again,
this is all happening right now. It's not like I'm some big guru,
right, I mean, I'm nota sage. These are happening all services.
(09:37):
I can't think of anything that can'tbe done with a more efficient hybrid
model. I don't know. Iwould agree with you. It's changed our
business tremendously, especially since COVID.We're forced to change, you know,
I think as bad as COVID was, it forced a lot of companies to
re evaluate how they operate their businesses. Exactly, Jackie, you want to
(10:00):
talk about, Jackie, I wasjust I had an experience with somebody on
your sleeves Brigade. Oh oh,who is it, Jackie? Have you
called before? By the way,No, I'm not even in Colorado?
Okay? Where are you? I'min Arizona, okay. And who did
you have an experience with? Michaelvan Elstein? Michael? Did he move?
(10:24):
Did he move down there? Hemoved to Chusa on and he's honest
to god, I got to putthat on the sleeves Brigade. So this
man wasn't satisfied ripping people off inColorado and moved away. But here's what's
amazing to me. You move away, you have a chance to make things
right, and what do you do? You end up doing the same crap?
(10:50):
Well, five hundred dollars and whatdid he do? By the way,
he's a mechanic and he it starts. I don't want the story to
be too long, but it startsthat he tries to get money from you
to buy the parts. That's rightthat I said I would buy it.
He's a mobile mechanic right right right. And if people look at sles Brigade
(11:16):
dot com and put in and yougo to the left where the categories are,
and you put down the miserable mechanicsis the category you'll find Michael van
Olstein? Does he still have thegoatee there? And stuff? And then
basically, here's what this guy does. He takes exactly what he did.
Do you know we had people herewho paid a man to pay twenty seven
(11:39):
hundred. Duncan paid nine hundred andforty, Dennis paid five point fifty.
Masty paid twenty six hundred, Jamespaid two thousand. I'm telling you some
of the victims. Listen to this. Hernan Rodriguez paid seven grand, Jean
paid twenty five hundred. This mantook almost one hundred thousand dollars before leaving
Colorado. How much do you takeyou for? Again? I feel lucky
(12:03):
at only five hundred. Right now, what phone number I want to get
the latest information on this scumbag ifyou could help me out and then I'll
warn others. What number is heusing right now? Let me look it
up here? Real okay? Thankyou? Also, he advertises on Craigslist,
(12:24):
and so I, well, ofcourse that's you know, they should
call it scams list. Yeah.Well I went back to Craigslist and I
made my own ad warning people abouthim, and I got two people that
contacted me so already in Arizona.Yeah, yep, Oh my god,
(12:46):
Hey, are you on next door? No, okay, that's a good
app too for warning people about people. Would you like his number, then,
yes, I would. I wantto know if it's the same one
we have. What is it?I thinks two four six one. Let
(13:09):
me see which one I have onSlea's brigade. Hold on four one seven
one, hold on. Oh no, he's got a new number. Yeah,
so he's been ripping people off again. Yeah, hey, Kelly,
call him right now, call himif you can here. Let me give
(13:31):
you that number again, or unlessyou I'll give it to her again.
But oh my gosh, listen, let's try to put out the word and
get your money. I mean,I don't think we will the guy,
the guy. There are just peoplethat are liars and cheaters. By the
way, people, if you knowliars and cheaters and ripoffs, or if
you have a problem, like likeour caller, please let us know now.
(13:54):
I want to make sure Kachina gether get get her number so we
can get a hold of her ifwe need to, And then in case
we can track this scumbag down anddo me a favorite. Kachina, why
don't you call the guy and saylisten, you know we we'd like you
to come on the air. Ijust want to see if he even answers
his phone. I'm Tom Martino threeO three seven one three Talk Probit Energy.

Hi Tom Artino here three all threeseven one three talk seven one three
A two five five. Bob loganwith me from plumb Line Services. We're
talking about direct to consumer models ona lot of stuff that I believe will
happen in the near future. AndI'd like to know your shopping habits if
(15:24):
you can let us know. Bythe way, Kachina, when you called,
did you call that number to seethat? Sleeves answered, I did.
It went straight to voicemail. SoI left a message. What kind
of message would you leave a guylike that? Just curious? I said
that I was in shopping for somebodyto fix my car. Oh what a
(15:45):
smart liar. That is wonderful.Three O three seven one three talk.
That's good stuff. We employ everymeans possible, except illegal stuff, to
try to grab these scumbags, sodirect to consumer models. He's a mobile
mechanic, and that that is onearea where I don't want direct to consumer.
(16:11):
I want to go to a mechanic, Bob. I'll tell you why
they have the diagnostics, the machines. I think that's one area. Now,
buying the car is a different story, But fixing a car, what
do you think, Well, Idon't know if they could have truck mounted
equipment diagnosis now, bait, waita minute, I'm stupid here. I'm
talking technology. What would prevent themfrom having every single bit of technology remoted
(16:37):
to somewhere? In other words, you could literally have the sensors do by
the sky. They could then inother words, I was just thinking,
wait a minute, maybe they can'thave all the computers on board. They
don't need them. They just needthe sensors and the sensor array could send
data to a central location that theysubscribe to for all of these diagnostics,
(17:02):
but then fixing it. Okay, that would be cool for diagnostics, So
maybe that's the way to go.You have them come to your house,
they do all of the diagnostics basedon all of the equipment, either in
the cloud or in the van, then come up with the recommendations. And
if you need parts in all ofthat, I don't think most subdivisions want
people taking their cars apart in theirdriveways or whatever. So if then then
(17:27):
you can make an appointment, payfor the parts up front on the app
make an appointment, and then nodowntime, right, now you go to
a dealer or go to a place, they look at all everything you need,
your car sitting there for a week, sometimes just waiting for parts.
But that could be a really efficientmodel. Wow. Yeah. Sometimes that's
(17:51):
the most frustrating part is waiting tofind out what no I know is wrong.
Why I went to a body shopone time? First of all,
they estimate it right. Let mepay for the parts right now, the
ones you know I need. Letme pay for him, Let me pay
for the paint. Let me payfor what I know I need. Okay,
He's a well, a lot oftimes when you're take it apart,
there's a zilli fine. Okay, but at least you got what you need
(18:12):
and you can be taking it apartwhen you order something. Fine. I
understand there are some things hidden, but not much, not much. There's
got to be more efficiency. People. Do you agree any suggestions my YouTube
morons, you're usually pretty good atcoming up with suggestions. What do you
think? And my Facebook flunkies, humans have run the course, says Hellcat.
(18:37):
He I will replace us all.I don't think. I'm not talking
about replacement. I'm talking about enhancement. Let's talk to Scott he has a
warranty issue. Scott. What's goingon with you? Hello, Scott?
What's happening? By the way,I urge people get your problems out before
they become big ones. At threeto zero three are he's seven to one
(19:00):
to three? Talk or leave usa message or call us at three h
three Martina. When we're here,we'll pick right up. So what's going
on, Scott? So my girlfriendactually went out and bought her son a
truck to replace the one that waswrecked back in decembery Now, she went
out and bought her son. Howolders her son? He's nineteen. Well,
she's okaying for it. He's payingfor it? No, I get
(19:22):
it. She shopped with him,he helped him shop, Okay, And
what happened. So we've had thetruck for a little bit. When she
when they purchased the truck, ithad about a five to six inch lift
on it. What is the whatis the truck? It's Chevy Silverado.
(19:42):
What year twenty seventeen? And howmany miles? Oh, that's good.
I want to say eighty or ninetyI believe Okay, go ahead, okay.
So when she bought the truck, she wanted to make sure that she
got the platinum extended warranty on itto help cover it. And then you
(20:06):
said the truck had a lift onit. What do you mean, yes,
lift, so it's raised up higherthan a normal truck. Oh,
the truck was lifted. I getit. I thought you meant like a
toature. Okay, truck was lifted. Got it? The lifted suspension.
By the way, did that comefrom the factory? That way? It
came from the dealership that she boughtit through. Some somebody else had put
(20:29):
this on after it left the factory. Okay, Okay, that's really important.
And where did she buy it?I want to say McDonald vovo.
Okay, So now what happened? And by the way, she bought an
extended warranty with a ninety thousand miletruck. Not a good idea, but
she did, right, she boughtone. Well, I could be wrong
(20:52):
on the mile edge itself, tobe honest. Okay, Well, it
wouldn't. It wouldn't matter any Iwouldn't buy an extended warranty on to use.
Well, go ahead. What happened. Well, part of the reason
she did is because she knows partsgo out. But she also added the
lift kit protection as well inside ofthe extended warranty. Knowing that a lot
of warranty wait, so she specificallynamed an after market lift kit. I've
(21:17):
never even heard of a warranty thatdoes that. How did she add the
after market lift kit? That wouldbe a question for the dealership. The
dealership. I offered it when shewas trying to buy it, and did
it so it cost her extra toinclude the lift kit? Yes? It
did? All right, hold on, we'll come back. This is very
interesting, by the way, Scott, I have never heard of adding after
(21:41):
market components to an extended warranty. What's the name of that warranty, by
the way, so I can lookit up. I would have to speak
to her to get that from me. Is she somewhere we can get these
quick answers. I was actually goingto see if I could get in touch
with her to see if she'd bewilling to talk. Yeah, see if
she can. While we're taking thisbreak three all three, seven, one,

we could do with that. Okay, Denverregen dot com compounded Semiglue Tide that's

I think eventually we should talk aboutbuying cars in a different way.
The most antiquated system on Earth.Kathy's got a question for bob Logan a
(23:17):
plumb line. Kathy, go ahead, I yeah, I have one of
your refral list people that doesn't dowhat I need. Oh my gosh,
who is it? Who is it? Fixit? Twenty four to seven.
What did they not they're a goodcompany. What did they not do?
They don't do window wells. I'vegot a window well that won't drain.
(23:38):
I've had two plus Oh my gosh, Well plumbline doesn't do windo wells,
do you, guys? I meanby window wells, you mean literally the
basement window, right, the basementwindow. Well, yeah, I've got
one, well, actually two,but the other one doesn't do it often
that shows up, and I've foundout that there's supposedly drain inside there that
(24:00):
could be clobbed or something else. But the plumbo Okay, I see why
you window wheels or they the oneguy that told me what to do.
I did what he told me,and I this last storm it filled up
again and flooded my basement. Isee why you thought it might be a
dream, Bob. That sounds likeoutside drainage to me, what do you
(24:22):
think it is? Outside drainage? And that's not something we do as well.
It's you know, like French strains, for example. We don't do
French trains. Lest we had agood cut typically foundation repair company, or
we hadthing like that. Well, hold on, no window okay, it's
not the window well itself. Thenit's outside drainage well. The in the
(24:45):
newer construction, and I say neweris you know within in the past many
years there's a drainage system below thewindow well itself to remove the water rather
than having the window well up withwater. There's a there's a brain system.
Is it a French strain? Isthat or similar to a French train?
(25:06):
So we have to figure out onour list who does French strains.
That's really what we're thinking about rightnow. And I'm going to put in
French drains to see if I canget a hit on my referrals. No,
no, seriously, that's what youneed. That's why you called fix
it and you called plumbline or we'reasking plumbine because you think drainage, so
you thought drains, right, I'mtrying to call you guys because they yeah,
(25:30):
no, no, I get it. No, no, I said,
no, I know. So Iam thinking, I don't we had
someone who did these French strains andI don't. I can't find them on
here. I'm looking. I'm stilllooking French trains, you know. I'm
going to ask Bob from L.E. M. Landscaping to call in
(25:53):
if he's listening, or kachina givehim a call. He might know people
if he doesn't do it done mindfloor? What deeke? Wait a minute?
We called? He called on hisown. Yes, Oh my god,
is this like magic? My littlemental telepathy thinks Bob, I didn't
even know you called when I saidthat, Bob, what do you think
(26:15):
I know that? Well? Tom, I need to ask her a couple
of questions. It's just a newerhouse or an old house two thousand and
six. Okay, so you havelittle drains with rock in the bottom,
right, supposedly you haven't, okay. So if there are all the new
houses, a lot of them, put these strain pass in with rock up
(26:38):
to them so the water will goin them. If if you don't have
that, that's what we need toput in there. And what you gotta
do. You gotta dig down tothe base, get the pipe out of
there. And I don't know howto deep your grains are? I mean
here, windowells. But here's somethingwe do is done him a lot for
new houses. So what's more totell you with it? Southeast alat Oh,
(27:03):
we do a lot of work outthere. Okay. Yeah, I'm
basically right by a Rapaho Connie Fairground. And by the way, Bob at
L. E. M. Landscapingis a member of my referral list at
referral list dot com. He doesgreat work. But I want to ask
another question, Bob, can yourepair it or do you have to install
(27:26):
a new one? Well? Attimes, you know, if it's not
draining, why don't you days forher? It's broke? And if they
pass tied down there saying is solidis crushed. So I can't answer that
question. We have to see whatshe has and probably have to dig it
off a jain. If she couldget me a couple of pictures looking down
(27:48):
at me. All right, I'mgoing to give her. I'm going to
give her your company number here.L. E. M. Landscaping is
three oh three five six four nineone zero four okay, and then Kitschina,
make sure she gets that. Igot to take a break. Three

(28:11):
Scott, did you get a holdof your girlfriend? Oh? Thanksfully
able to get her on the linewith us. Okay, And what's your
name, Kelly? What's your name? My name is Kelly, Kelly,
did you do you have actually somethingin writing that talks about this warranty covering
(28:32):
the aftermarket lift kit? Yees?I do? Wow? Wow? Okay,
good. What's the name of thewarranty the well, the name of
the warranty company is called Fidelity.Oh okay, uh huh, I've heard
of him. Hold on and we'llcome right back to you. Okay,
thank you for being on three ohthree seven one three eight two five five.

Hi Tom Martino here three all threeseven one three talk seven one three eight
two five five. So I wastalking to Scott and his girlfriend. Uh,
(29:45):
and we're talking about and this isKelly I believe about this aftermarket warranty.
So what's the problem, Kelly. So, I purchased the aftermarket warrantine
because it was on a list ofthe truck was on a lift. I
also purchased, on top of thePlatinum extended warranty, the lift kick coverage
(30:06):
on the truck it turned it.I bought this on December second. I
have not made any modifications to thetruck and other than the one that was
on it already, right, Ididn't make that modification, So you didn't
make it. I got you.I got you so and the dealer that
sold it to is the one thatsold you the Fidelity extended warranty exactly.
(30:30):
And the wheels on the truck arethe original wheels that came with the truck.
Well, it turns out that thetransmission went out in this truck,
and so I took it to mymechanic and when we submitted the claim to
have the transmission replaced, Fidelity cameout and they ultimately denied the claim for
(30:53):
the transmission. And the reason whythey denied the claim was because the wheels
are point a out of their specsand I see the wheel or the tire
the wheels. The rims, andthose rims were on the truck. Are
they factory rims? No, no, they're after market there, after market
(31:17):
rims that were all okay, theysee they they snuck this in. I
can see what they're doing. Theydidn't cover the rims. The only aftermarket
stuff they'll cover is stuff named inthe policy. You didn't have the rims
named. And if you're claiming therims are part of the lift kit,
it's not going to work. Isthat what you're trying to do? No,
(31:37):
no, no, no, no, no no no. They're denying
the trans they're denying the transmission.Uh work because they say that the wheels.
No, I get no, Iget that. I get that.
So they're saying that your truck, your truck was out of spec. I
get it. I get it.Not because of the lift kit, but
because of the wheels. Right. And it's now now let me explain why
(32:02):
I said the wheels were not covered. Because in a warranty, if a
covered part causes the failure of ancovered part, then it's covered. If
an uncovered part causes the failure ofa covered part, it is not covered.
And if a covered part, itjust it's just they have to be
(32:27):
covered, whether to cause it orto be or to be repaired by it.
So because they're saying an uncovered spec, an uncovered part caused the failure
of your transmission, they're not coveringthe transmission. But what I want to
know is this, since then, that means literally that that truck did not
(32:47):
have coverage for that from the beginning. Well, actually, I submitted a
warranty claim back in January because itneeded new ball joints, and they actually
covered the ball joints. That's bad. I wish they hadn't, because then
I would have made an argument fora full refund of the warranty that shows
(33:08):
that this is good ahead. Thisis what they're saying now, is that
I don't have that. They can'ttell me exactly if I still have a
warranty or if I don't have awarranty, if I'm covered or I'm not.
You will not be covered for anythinghaving to do with anything rolling on
the ground. You won't be coveredfor transfer cases, transmissions. You shouldn't
(33:30):
have been covered. Maybe the balljoints you would have been covered for.
You're probably not going to be coveredfor anything that the wheels affect anything.
If I were you, I here'swhat I would do. I would go
to the dealer and I'd say tothe dealer, what's that. I've already
gone to the dealer, and infact they but you didn't hear what I
(33:52):
was going to say. I didn'tsay, just go to the dealer.
I would go to the dealer specificallysaying this, you breached your contract with
me because you offered me this knowingor should have known, this truck would
not have been covered. I wouldn'thave known that. You're the only one
(34:14):
that could have known that. Soyou sold me the truck, charged me
for a warranty, and then it'sa warranty that can't be used on many
of the components. Therefore, Iwant a refund of the warranty. That's
the best I'm going to do.We're never going to get him to cover
the transmission. We probably can getyou a refund. They did they as
(34:38):
a courtesy to me. They arefixing the they are doing the transmission,
but then my extended warranty after thatwill not basically cover anything. Well,
how much hold on? How muchis the transmission repair? H and what
did you pay for the warranty?I actually don't have that dollar. Here's
(35:01):
what I'm thinking, Kelly. You'reahead because the only thing you could have
demanded is a refund. They're actuallypaying you more than that, plus they
did to ball Joints in January.I know you don't want to hear this,
but you'd better call it good. You're ahead of the game, and
I don't think I can do anybetter for you. Go with a sure

Wow. Renew Home Innovations dot Comthree h three nine are four to
(37:13):
two thousand. Bill has an issuewith Chase Bank and then whatever's on your
mind. People, But these extendedwarranties. A word about this extended warranty
from the previous caller of last Hourand Bob was talking to me about that,
and he says, you know, when you think about this, that
company was a stand up company.McDonald Volvo sold her a vehicle. Now,
(37:36):
granted, they sold her an extendedwarranty that could not be used technically
in certain components because the wheels wereout of spec. So they sold her
something she couldn't use, except theydid do ball joints for her in January.
Now she needs transmission repairs of sixtyfive hundred bucks, and a dealer
(38:00):
said they'll take care of it now, Bob, the way I look at
this, she's getting sixty five hundredthere and maybe a couple grand for the
ball joints. So let's say eightyfive hundred dollars in services for a bumb
warranty. The most I would havedone is get a refund for the bum
(38:21):
warranty. Because people don't understand this. If they sell you a warranty you
can't use, they're not obligating themselvesto fix something. They're obligating themselves to
give your money back for what youbought that you can't use. Now,
if you make the argument, well, I wouldn't have bought the truck if
I knew that, well, thenthat's a whole can of worms and a
lawsuit and it's just not even worthit. But if I was to go
to them and ask for three grandfor the warranty back, she's already getting
(38:45):
eighty five hundred bucks. I thinkshe was made whole. And then somewhat
about you, Yeah, I agreethe fact that they I don't think they've
maliciously sold her a warranty. Thatobviously right. And to your point,
they didn't have to cover the transmission. I thought as to stand up,
okay, and I believe that's thepoint. Did you were you treated fairly?
(39:08):
There are so many people want thatwant to go beyond fairness, especially
with a would it could have shouldhave problems like they should have or they
could have or they would have orwhat if problems? What if it killed
me? What if my child wasinjured for life? Or what if I'm
talking about like we're a pharmacist, maybe gives you the wrong drug by mistake.
(39:34):
This has happened in the past people, or where a doctor misdiagnoses something.
Yes, even if it could havekilled you, may have killed you
and you would have been devastated. You were not if it was caught.
You can't be paid on what ifs? You can't deputy doc? How many
(39:57):
times has this happened in malpractice?Where people want to be there, they're
pissed off because of what could havehappened? Have you you've heard of that?
Right? Well, not something itreally isn't what could have happened?
Tom, It's only when something doeshappen, right, that's right. But
I'm saying for consumers and patients sometimesthey don't understand that. They don't they
(40:21):
don't understand sometimes what the it's whathow shall I put it? There's certain
complications that arise that are not malpractice, and that's right, understand And and
I think in your field, Obgunand probably as I read it was one
of the highest categories of malpractice. It's lost. It's second only to neurosurgeons.
(40:45):
And and that's because if a babyis not born perfectly, they always
look for the reason and it's notalways the doctor exactly. And that's why
we have to keep records on infantsfor eighteen years. Don't believe it or
not? What have you? Well? Okay, have have doctors been haunted
(41:07):
like when a kid's ten or eleven? Yeah, it's not very common,
but it does happen. There's gotto be a statute of limitation. Though,
yeah, it's eighteen years what holycrap. So anyway, the point
I'm making is what it could have, should have or what if scenarios don't
(41:31):
make it? And I can seethis woman now pissed off, because here's
what her argument is. Even thoughthey're fixing the transmission, even though they
did ball joints. Now, Imay not have a warranty anymore, but
if you only paid three grand forthe warranty and you got eighty five hundred
dollars worth of goods and services, and then here's what some people are thinking,
(41:55):
especially my YouTube warns. My Facebookflunky is my onliners, because they're
the most unreasonable people in the world. Not all of you, but you
know what I'm talking about. They'resaying this, but they did not live
up to the contract agreed. Solet's call it breach of contract. The
(42:17):
dealer breached its contract and its dutyto the consumer. Okay, let's say
that's right. Okay, So nowwe have to go to what damages?
What are the damages if I sellyou a warranty for three grand and it's
useless. What are the damages? You don't get emotional trauma? What do
(42:38):
you get? What are you doing? That's exactly right, But she's already
gotten about eighty five hundred. Sodo you see, even though it is
a breach, there are no damages. It's just like if someone broke into
your home and straightened it up andcleaned it, not really breaking and entering
(43:00):
would have still been a crime. But what I'm saying is when there is
no damage, you may have breached, but breach with no damage even malpractice
with no damage. There have beenmalpractices where a doctor should have caught the
tumor. Now why would I saythere's no damage, Because even if a
(43:28):
year later it was discovered and theperson says, oh my god, I
have cancer, it's technically malpracticed thatdoctor didn't catch it. But what are
the damages if the tumor is exactlythe same as it was the year before?
Well, bet tom, that's thewhole point of contention, whether or
(43:49):
not earlier treatment would have affected theoutcome exactly. But sometimes there are cases
where doctors have done something wrong butit did not cost the patient anything.
In fact, I'll bet you malpracticeattorneys excuse me, insurance companies would argue
(44:10):
that the patient was better off notthey had another year of worry free life.
No, seriously, there are allkinds of crazy. I mean I've
seen, not seen. I've heardof malpractice attorneys, excuse me, defending
malpractice or defending doctors. I've heardof these insurance companies having attorneys who argue
(44:32):
that it actually made them better thedefense whatever the doctor did. Interesting,
I mean, it's crazy. Anyway, Bill, what's going on with you?
Bill? Welcome? Tell me howyou do it. What happened with
me is I've been with Chase Bankerabout ten years. Okay, in late
(44:52):
late in November early just saimber,I started getting some notes from Chase fraud
that people were making purchases off mycards that I wasn't aware of. That
could be a fraud, that couldbe a scam unto itself. Yes,
But what's happened is I've been toThey've given me, like from the Center
(45:12):
Toe just recently, about five differentcards. Part of what I was doing,
is it a debit or credit card? Debit card? Okay, and
they've given you five different cards?Yes. Now, this is because Chase
says you were a victim of fraud. I'm assuming that they're not doing it
(45:35):
along with ads. No, no, no, okay, tell me the
whole story. Then let me hearit. Well, how did you find
out it was fraudulent? Did youget a phone call or a letter or
an email I got, I gota I got a message from from case
fraud letting me know, asking meabout this. And when I told them
there was not more. What didthey ask about specifically a specific charge?
(45:59):
Yes, they said, this isthis is here's how it usually goes.
This is chase fraud detection and we'rejust calling to find out if you just
charge this amount at this merchant. Please reply, okay. Is that what
they did? Yes? Okay? And then you said no, I did
not make the purchase. Yes.And then so then they sent you a
(46:22):
card, so they were sending menew cards then okay. And it's happened
this same scenario where they call andask about a charge and you said I
don't recognize it. That same scenariohas happened five or six times, oh
multiple times. Okay, So what'stell me what's happening now? Why the
call? But the call is becauseof this this got really bad in late
(46:47):
December January to where somebody moved allmy money from my savings to checking.
I didn't do it, and theybasically, here's me a lion to them.
I was talking to front about this. Also in in January, there
was about eighteen hundred dollars. No, wait a minute, they moved all
of your money from your checking toyour savings. No, from yeah,
(47:12):
from savings to joh, I'm sorry, savings to checking my phone? Okay,
And I suspect the reason they didthat, if it truly is a
fraud, which I don't think itis. If if your money was moved
from savings to checking, presumably becausethey have access to your debit card,
they would then take the money outfor themselves. Is that what they did?
(47:36):
Yeah? How much did you lose? How much did you actually lose?
About between the money that was movedand all these charges not moved?
No, no, not moved.I want to know when they moved the
money from savings to checking. There'sgot to be a reason for it.
Did they take cash out? Idon't have to answer that. I'm assuming
(48:04):
you mean the person that did themoving money without I approve them. Yeah,
I couldn't. I'm my guess,Well, are you missing money from
your account? Sir? Oh yeah, Oh yeah, I'm missing about five
thousand dollars between all the purchases they'vemade. Okay, you're not sure of
any of the Okay, you're sayingpurchases. So maybe they didn't take cash,
(48:27):
but they took they made purchases. Now, is the reason they transferred
the money from savings to checking? Is so they could use your debit card?
Oh? Yes, without a doubt. And what the what they were
doing? You know, like yougo to King Soopers and you go to
(48:47):
to check and you plug them inthat way. I don't do that anymore
because my understanding is that they're readingthem that way King Toopers. First of
all, you should never use adebit card, that's the first thing ever.
You should only use a credit card. And in that way, they
don't have access to your bank account. I don't know how anyone got access
(49:13):
to your Chase log in. Theywould have to have your Chase log in
and possibly Now do you have anonline account? Yes? I mean I
haven't. I have an account? Is Chase right now? Yes? No?
What I'm asking you is prior tothis fraud. Did you have an
account that you could log into onlinejust the normal was yes, just by
(49:37):
normal accounts. I understand that. But you were able to go in and
log into Chase. Yes. Andwhen you logged into Chase you could see
both your savings account and your checkingaccount, and you were able to move
money if you wanted to. Yeah, but someone got your login somehow?
(50:04):
Yes. Uh oh, and seethey moved on the twenty fourth of January,
they moved all the money over fromsavings to checking about five grand,
okay. And then in December.Wait, you said from checking? You
mean from savings to checking? Right? Yes, okay, yes, savings,
(50:30):
and then they started making purchases. So is Chase holding your response?
Hey, by the way, Iforgot Shannon, did I take the fifteen
Oh my goodness, hold on,sir, hold on, I We're going
to come right back. I don'tunderstand what the hell's going on and why
Chase didn't just shut the account down. More on that coming up. Go

Check them out three oh three eightsixty two five five five four and here
here's the deal. I believe thatwith plumbing, Bob Bob Logan's with plumb
line services or real quick issue herewith plumb line services and water and plumbing.
(52:06):
Right now, we have what's calleda slow season for everyone in the
HVAC business. But what about plumbing? I what causes plumbing season? In
other words, when are their dealsin plumbing or is plumbing pretty steady?
You know? Plumbing? Plumbing isprobably our most consistent department because if there's
a leak, no one's waiting rightexactly, and people use their water year
(52:29):
round. Now, once the UH, once your irrigation systems kick on and
the municipalities start increasing water pressure andthings like that, then you could have
some problems. So we'll see aspike and then UH and then summer projects
will cause that. But for themost part, plumbing is really consistent,
Electrical is fairly consistent. And butyeah, with furnace and air conditioning systems,
(52:52):
the weather places is such a hugefactor. Here's what I No one
will put off a water leak,no one. Everyone will put off other
things. They'll put them off, even electrical issues. It's amazing to me
how they'll dodge certain outlets or lightswitches. It's amazing. They just put
it off and put it off.And you guys used to have that,
(53:15):
I think, pretty easy way todo it. You had the guys come
out and estimate and stuff. Idon't know what you're doing now for electrical.
So if someone has an electrical issueand they're afraid, I mean,
is there a way they can getan idea first? Yeah? I mean
we we we actually have a tremendousoffer going on right now. It's a
twenty one dollar whole home inspection ofelectrical of electrical So if someone has a
(53:37):
problem, that's the thing to do, right And and you know, I
mean if we got to dig intothe walls and there's other charges, most
of the time you can tell, right, I mean, we're going to
bring to your attention, you know, unsafe really unsafe issues. And that's
really when just twenty one, honestto god, the whole electric And then
(53:59):
you give me a list of whatI need exactly or not need? Right,
do you always find something? Notalways? But give me an idea
of what you may find, Likelike what about a loose connections in the
panel, those connections in the panelor people you know people, But is
that covered by the twenty one oris that extra? It depends if it's
a real simple you know, tighteningor something like that. But again,
(54:22):
if we get got to have togo into a tracing or diagnosis. But
most people, you know, theythink it's normal for breakers to trip.
It's not normal for breakers. Now, of course, if you breakers are
trip, there's a problem. There'sa problem. If you've got an outlet
that's not working, or a lifethat's loose, or war. It could
be it could be simple, butit could also be a safety issue.
(54:43):
So there's twenty one bucks, man, I didn't know that plumbline services dot
Com three h three five A six, ten eighty six. I mean for
twenty one bucks, I think Ispent that on a couple of coffees the
other day. We can't even really, you know, cover the cost of
ruling a truck out. But you'rebut you look at it's all about getting
a sticker in the house of arewhole goal on any single call. I
don't care for charging twenty dollars ortwenty one thousand customer. We want to
(55:05):
win a client car. Of course. Of course, Hey, so Bill,
this thing with chase, Okay, this bothers me a lot. Man.
You have a debit card, youkept getting notified about fraudulent charges,
they kept sending you a new card. Then someone moved your money from savings
to checking and then what where doesit stand now? The fact that the
(55:30):
money vision chase ows me between allthe fraudulent non chase ATM with jobs and
that kind of thing that happened. There's about four or five thousand dollars between
saving between the what the saving thechecking? Now do they acknowledge that it's
their problem? Or are they saying, see, I don't know what are
(55:52):
they saying? Basically? When Italked to fraud initially because of the because
Fraud sent me sent me the information, do they not believe it's fraud?
Yeah? Did they think you're lying? Yes? They do. They think
(56:13):
there's somebody that I know there wasinvolved. Well, hold on, do
they think so? But here's whatI want to know. If someone you
know was involved and you don't knowabout it, would they still hold you
responsible? That's what they're doing now. No, But are they They're not
saying you did it intentionally. They'resaying you were negligent with your information.
(56:36):
Is that what they're saying? Ihadn't thought about it, but that's a
possibility. Yes, okay, Sowhat are you doing about it right now?
Well? I had I had talkedto a lady and Fraud. I
had talked to Fraud. Praude toldme because I was out of luck.
Did I just lost sell them money? My thought? I had talked to
(56:58):
a lady and they're executive office asher name is case or Jadge and I
never got to talk to her.She left me a message, but I
called called those people up and tellthem what was going on, And basically
they told me, during our review, we found the errors on our part,
(57:22):
we restrictedly decline your request for compensation. So wait, what errors did
they find on their part? Wedidn't we found the errors on They said,
we found no errors on our Noerrors. Oh yes, and see,
I've got what I have. Hereare the the trainouts I have from
(57:45):
the local Chase bank about what washappening then. And there's one and just
bear with me for one second. It's in me because this is all over
the place. It says non ChaseATM withdrawal note Manchi Europe two hundred one
dollars thirty six cents. Another onefor two sixty six sixty eight. Uh,
(58:06):
anotherland fail. I kind of doListen. I don't think you did
it intentionally, but I agree withthem that it is someone you know it
could be. But I did thatis I don't how would I find out?
What would I do? Then?Well, where they made the ATM
withdrawals, there's there's cameras you couldrequest. You could request the video.
(58:32):
See I don't know what note machiit's a note machi, m A C
HI, then neuro eu r Oand then what does that mean? I
don't know. That's what I'm timesing. Okay, what are you looking at
right now when you're reading that stuff? What are you looking at? Some
print out to Chase gave me?Can you send them to Kay? Can
(58:54):
you? Can you show us those? I can? Just second, I
don't hold on, let me takethis break. I listen. Bill.
There's also the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, and they look into cases like this.
Are you online often? But ifI've done was? I don't know
(59:15):
if this will ASTs your question? Now? Are you online? Can you
go to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau? Yes? I can. Okay,
Here's what I want you to doConsumer Finance dot Gov. On the top

(01:00:27):
three oh three seven one three eighttwo five five. Well, you know,
here's the thing. If you havepeople getting access to your account,
it could be your problem. Andit's possible the bank is not at fault
(01:00:50):
if they did nothing wrong. Itis possible. People need to know this.
So what you have to do isjust protect yourself. One is,
go over charges. Use a creditcard, not a debit card. Debit
cards are a key to your bankaccount. In fact, every check you
write is a key to your bankaccount, every single check you write,
(01:01:15):
every I mean, it is amazingto me how easy it is for people
to get access to your bank accountin this day and age. They don't
ask for permission. Did you knowthat? Did you know that you can
basically hand a check to someone andthey can immediately get access to your account
(01:01:40):
with an ACCH and no one askedpermission about anything. Ever, Now,
if you say I didn't make thattransfer, is that they are responsible for
achs because they're supposed to check them. So they take the risk on that,
But they don't take the risk ononline access to your account. They
(01:02:00):
do not, and they don't takethe risk for pin numbers being used at
ATMs. Bill, How would someoneget your pin number for an ATM?
I don't know, I really well. The only way they could is through
you, either on a skimmer. That would be their problem. But you
(01:02:22):
need to investigate. Pin numbers area way of shifting responsibility to the consumer.
Let me ask you a question.Yeah, I've never been Yes,
I've used the ATM like just likeanybody else has. Although the chase they
(01:02:45):
have a thing where you tap itand I do that. Now, I
don't know. That's good. That'sa good that's good, good good.
No, that's and when I putthere's nobody around when I put the number
in, if there's somebody there,I make sure that they're for a back
that they Yeah, I'm talking abouta skimmer on the actual ATM machine.
But no, no, I justlook, they're rare. They are rare.
(01:03:07):
I don't think anyone did a skimmer, by the way, But in
Case they did, because like Iwas in late December, it was like
fifty year or thirty there, thatkind of thing, and they'd let me
know and they would decline it andthen I kept the money. But in
January it got like there was ofa period of three or four days,
(01:03:29):
and I think this is all europestuff. The reason I read that to
you was because, like I said, it's a non case ATM withdrawal note
mac guy eu r O until onethirty six and some other amounts. But
and see around that time, Iwas getting some calls from some international numbers,
(01:03:52):
and I said, what the heck'sgoing on here? But you had
given me some I didn't have apen worked in. You'd given me a
consumer protection subsidy. Yeah, becausethey will look into it, but I'm
gonna tell you, uh, theyprobably won't do anything if Case did absolutely
nothing wrong. What they might do, though, is look at the videos
(01:04:15):
from the other places. Here's whathere's the place is, it's go online

Monty. There are tricky ways totake possession of a car like that.
First and foremost, does it havea play no place of gun? And
is it on a public street?Yes? And why hasn't it been towed
(01:06:09):
by the city. That's a goodquestion because it's got to share tickets on
for street sweeping and no plates. And I think I feel like it's only
a matter of time where they comeget it. Okay. Now there are
people got a trailer hook on theback, so look like somebody who's hallowing
at U haul and just took theU haul and just abandoned the car.
(01:06:33):
Okay, So is it a pieceof crap? No? But I like
those type of cars, I think, you know I which Okay? What

have a vent, can you seethe VIN number? Yeah, I've got
the I was able to reach insidethe car because the jarviside window is Hey,
did you do then, did youdo a VEN number search to see
who owns it or where it waslast registered. I've got the guy's name
who is last who is last registered, and I've been trying to contact him.
(01:07:18):
But hey, okay, good, good, so far, so good.
When where was it last registered? It was registered? To be seen?
The VEN number registered three thirty one. No, that's expiration three thirty
one twenty twenty four. Okay, hold on, hold on, So it's
(01:07:39):
not expired yet. As far asthe registration, no, I guess I
think that the thirty day expiration issupposed to as fire three five What that's
a missions No, No, I'mtalking about the registration. It was last

Okay, great, God is right. Okay, that's good to know.
(01:08:25):
Two, So there is a wayto do this, and that is you
could notify the city and go towhere they take it over, and that

Bob Logan Plumbline Services. Known himfor years and years. Bob, we
(01:10:48):
had a question on water pressure. How important is getting a regulator valve?
He says. He suspects he hashigh water pressure, so I need to
know about water pressure. It's prettydamn important. It's extremely important. I
mean for everything you have. Youknow the analogy we use. It's a
lot like blood pressure. If yourblood pressure is high, your body can
(01:11:10):
maintain it for a short period oftime, and then stuff is it's going
to deteriorate. Everything, isn't iteventually? Exactly wash, washing, your
water heater, your pipes, everything, and so you know, the recommendation
is that your water pressure is somewherearound seventy pounds per square engine. Does
everyone need a regulator or does thecity regulate? Well, this city does
(01:11:32):
their own regulation, but they don'tthey don't regulate it. So you need
a pressure regulating valves every house pressurein your house. Yes, okay,
so if I have one, I'mgood. And do they deteriorate? They
do, They'll they'll break, they'lldeteriorate. And so if you're checking your
water pressure, if it's above seventyfive, then chances are that thing's not
working. It's not regulating the wayit's supposed to. Now seventy five is
(01:11:55):
a good for everyone, Then howdo you can you measure it on your
own? You can't. And youcan go down to you know, home
depot and pick up a gauge andjust hook it up the faucets, usually
the screw on like an outside faucet, or you can't do it in your
water heater. I wouldn't recommend thatunless you're a plumber though, because sometimes
it's bounces, stuck and open andbreak and but you do it on a
(01:12:17):
foster. But anyway, just doit in you above seventy five not good.
If if it spikes above seventy five, then that that means you're pressure
regulating valve probably isn't working because youcan adjust it up and down. But
if it's can you adjust the onein my house, like the one I
have right now in my house? Can that be adjusted? It can be
adjusted. They all can be.How are they adjusted by with a screw?
(01:12:38):
It's yeah, depending on the model, it's typically a screw. Have
you guys ever found amount of adjustmentor do you find it mostly just bad
or good? Yeah? Sometimes they'reout of adjustment. Like someone says,
my water pressure just seems a littlebit high. We can adjust it up
or you know, most people don'twant to adjust it down. People love
high water pressure. I love highwater pressure. I want my show.
(01:12:58):
Okay, but but when you hi, you should never have it more not
above seventy five. Okay, maybeit's above seventy five. Then in fact,
a lot of warranties on appliances,we'll say within their warranty that if
it's above seventy five psi' it canvoyage a warranty. Okay, Wow,
(01:13:18):
Bob, every time you come here, I learned something. I know it's
hard to believe because I know somuch, but I do learn YouTube Moron's

listener of yours, a friend ofmine, a Carol Carney. Carol Karney,
I'm sure she's Karen today. Sheloves your show, and I told
(01:13:38):
her i'd give her a shout outnext time I'm on the show. Hello,
Carol, thank you for being alifelong listener. Now, by the
way, somebody said here on YouTubethat Ken Moon Ken Moon around the house.
He's been around for years. Where'sKen doing his show? Now?
Does I mean I'm sounding so stupid? Kachina or Dragon? Is he's still
(01:13:59):
on iHeart stations anywhere he's not withus, so I don't I can't say
if he's on an other iHeart station, but he's just okay with us anymore.
He's a good guy. He recommendsfifty to sixty pounds PSI why would
he do that? I mean,you're saying that's fine, that's that's fine,
that's goodly too low? What's toolow? Well? Too low is
when what do you think is toolow? Though for most things typically you
(01:14:24):
know, below fifty. You don'twant to be below fifty. It does
no harm to be below fifty. But people are going to get frustrated if
there if the water's not coming outof their faucets or their shower heads,
and you know, if you're belowfifty, it's going to be trinkling out.
And ah, so thank you.He told us that Ken is on
KRGO in the Springs. Thank youfor that. That's our We have our
(01:14:45):
show running there from ten to noondown there as well. Good Bob,
I'm sorry, can no, that'sfine. You know, most of our
plumbers are going to set it rightaround seventy sixty five to seventy to start
with, to see if a homeownerlikes that. But but yeah, I
mean you can just but most peoplelike the extra water pressure if you can
get it, just don't again, you don't want it above seventy five.
All right, Now getting a carthat's abandoned is oh wait, wait,
(01:15:11):
let's go to Dean first. Dean, you have a comment on water pressure.
As long as we were talking aboutthat, then I'm going to go
back to Monty and anyone who wantsto call us three oh three seven to
one three talk. Remember that's sevenone three eight two five five. You
can also throw call three oh threeMartino and get right through or leave a
message. If we're not here,we'll get back to you. That's three
oh three six two seven eight foursix six. Dean, what's your comment
on water pressure? Good? Mary, I live in Aura, over Alaura.
(01:15:36):
My house does not have a PrV. If you don't have one at
all, No, lot of alot of older homes do not have them.
No. No. And my backgroundI was a pipe better, so
I'm pretty familiar with this kind ofstuff. Good. I've got forty pounds
on a good day coming in.Oh wow, Now, hold on,
(01:15:59):
this is a good question. Canyou boost that or can you only adjust
it down? You can't lift yourpressure, can you? You'd have to
put in a tank and all thatcrap. Right, Yeah, you can
put in a pressure tank. Andagain this is where you get into some
technical things that I don't know muchabout time. Right. I know people
that are on wells, for example, have a pressure tank, so you
(01:16:20):
can't you can't boost the water pressure. Uh, Dean, do you know
if you can boost it? Well, just like a fire truck when a
fire truck comes up and they wantto put out a fire and they tie
into a hydrant that's got seventy poundsor so and they need a hunt one
(01:16:40):
hundred or one hundred and twenty. Both fire trucks have pumps on them.
Yeah, and of course, andthat's how they increase the pressure. Yeah,
I can. I can put apump at my house and pump out
of the deal I mean out ofthe main set to boost my pressure.
Okay, but then I'm having topay extra electricity gets myself up to a
normal pressure. No, I getit. Yeah. And I had in
(01:17:03):
fact, Uh, there was aaura water across the street turning turning some
water back on for somebody that hadsome problems. And I walked over this
last week and I asked him that. He said, hey, yeah,
he was going to test my waterreal quick. And I said, I
think I got a little pressure.Well, I think I already know because
I got gauges of my own.And he came over and he looked at
(01:17:26):
He put a good gauge, agood high grade, high high quality grage
on it in forty pounds, andhe looked at it and said, wow,
that's a little low. Yeah, and he said and he looked in
the pit, and he was lookingand he knows I don't have a PrV
here because it's an old house. He looked down in the pit to see
(01:17:47):
if the if the valve was turnedall the way on, you know,
from the street, and it was. It's fully open. So I've asked
the city to come out to verifythis low pressure. And now what am
I going to do about it?To get it up to seventy When I
turned my sprinkler systems on, Ijust got to trickle out of those things.
(01:18:09):
You know, they used to sprayten, ten or twelve feet.
Now they might stray four or fivefeet. Yeah. And typically the municipalities
will will raise the pressure from theirside during irrigation seasons. So during the
summer seasons when everybody's using their sprinklersystems, they'll they'll boost it up from
their side, and again that's wherewe see a lot of problems because then
(01:18:30):
the push gets too high ends inthe homes. Here's the question. I'm
I'm paying the same amount, andI know that that a roar in the
newer areas has eighty pounds, butI'm paying the same pounds. I'm paying
the same price for forty pside wateras somebody on the other side. It's
got eighty PSI yeah, but you'reyou're not paying for pressure, you paying
(01:18:53):
for volume. So it's you're goingto pay a fair price for what you
use, whether it's forty or eighty. The meters aren't running on pressure,
they're running on volume. That Iknow. I understand that, but I'm
still fann for some quality. No. I understand you're saying, hey,
I'm not getting the quality service. But they can argue you are getting the
water. But I know what you'resaying, and there's not much you can
(01:19:16):
do about it because it's a municipality, and in order to show negligence you
would have to show they don't havenormal procedures in place. Dean, thanks
for the discussion, and again Monty, I found a way you can take
possession of this car hold on.Okay, tell him that Kachina, Tony.
(01:19:39):
Another quick comment on water pressure,Go ahead, Tony. Yeah,
I just had a question. I'vegot a house built back in nineteen fifty
three? What kind of what shouldmy water pressure be at? With the
older plumbing in that house? Imean, does it matter how old the
house is? Bob, you dohave copper plumbing, right? Yes?
(01:20:01):
Do does plumbing get old? Iwant to ask that does copper doesn't get
older? Well? It because themineralization and calcium, and it could it
could, yes and so but butyeah, if you know again, sixty
five seventy is a normal water pressure. You know what you have, Tony.
(01:20:21):
I got a combination of copper inthat peck doing Okay, pex is
good? Do you know what pressurethough you're running? I have no idea.
I don't even know if I havea pressure gauge on the house.
Yeah, but you can check yourpressure. Go to home depot, get
something and check it. But Bobis saying about sixty. But but you
(01:20:42):
can go all the way up toeighty. Now again, you know,
the more pressure, the more pressure, right, But you never want to
be above eighty according to Bob,and also you want to make sure you're
plumbing doesn't I mean, how doyou tell of the leak is when you
check a plumbing when you do yourplumbing inspections? Is there a way to
check for leaks there? There reallyisn't. I mean, you either have
(01:21:02):
a leak or you don't have Waita minute, you can't do some kind
of pressure check or I don't know. Like when you build a house,
you you but that has to bea the pipes have to be abandoned for
that right as far as water evacuated. I mean, but again if there,
I mean, you can't. You'renot going to increase the pressure within
the pipes to do any kind ofa test. If the either you have
(01:21:24):
a leak or you don't have aleak, that's really there's no way to
know. There's no way to know. And so if you if you don't
have a leak, then then you'regood. Let me tell you something.
Your pipes are seven years old,so are mine, and so far I
don't have any leaks, sir.But again, just like high just like
high blood pressure, if you don'taddress high blood pressure, you're gonna have
(01:21:47):
problems. Water pressure is the sameway. If you don't arrest high water
pressure you're gonna have Tony, Tony, do you notice a problem with pressure
or not? No? No,I don't really have as okay with pressure
in my house. I just didn'tknow if too much was a bad well,
too much let's put it this way. Yeah, for sure it does,
(01:22:09):
but I'm not sure just because it'sold. If it was old and
you have bad water, it coulddefinitely be, you know what I'm saying.
But if you're if it's old andyou have normal water that didn't calcify
or deposit minerals, then it wouldbe it could be you could have a
pinhole somewhere from the deterioration. Okay, so Manty I did come up with
(01:22:32):
that process for getting a car.I have to take this though, and
then we'll talk about it more.Three oh three seven to one three talk.

So if you want to take possessionof a car, there is a way
to do that. Let me figureit out here like I have it written
down. Okay, you ready?Yeah, all right. The first thing
(01:23:46):
you do is you got the vehicle, you need to notify law enforcement to
get it towed or call the TOEcompany directly that works with the city.
You can call the city and askthem. You don't even have to ask
the city to have it done. They're under contract to do it and they
would love to do it. Youcan even tell the TOE company that this
(01:24:08):
has abandoned and that it hasn't expiredregistration and that you'll eventually want to buy
it. The TOE operator must conducta record search to try to find the
owner and contact them. If theydo not respond, then they because the
owner will have first rights if theydon't respond you. They doesn't have to
(01:24:32):
be a bid, it doesn't haveto be a public auction, which surprises
me. You can apply for titleand you can complete the title registration and
submit it along with the fee andtake possession after paying all the storage and
(01:24:53):
in pound fee fees. So it'snot as difficult as I thought. So
you start with those people, startwith getting a towed somewhere. Now I'm
not telling you someone might not comein and also want that car. I
don't know if there are people thatpatrol these impound yards for unclaimed vehicles.
(01:25:16):
I really don't know that, butif they did, it would be legal
and you could be one of them. So I should to first think about
call in law enforcement or just callthe city tow If I knew who the
toe company was that's under contract totow vehicles eye content, then directly then
(01:25:42):
you don't have any red tape atall. That's what I would do.
But if you can't find out who'sunder contract with the city there, then
I would go through the police andsay, listen, I want this car,
toad. It's been here since whateverhow long has it been there by
the way. I've noticed it beingthere for our h a little over a
week, maybe two weeks. Oh, but it's not abandoned, car bro
(01:26:05):
bro I thought it. There's noway it's abandoned. You have to wait
at least thirty days. Well yeah, well I look, I'm looking at
the tickets that's on the windshield andthey go way back. Well you just
told me a week or two.Yeah, I mean I've noticed it,
but but oh, I'm not askingif you noticed it. If the damn
(01:26:26):
tickets are how old? Oh,they're going back sixty days maybe some bather
No, Okay, well then that'sdifferent man. Okay, listen, I
should have said not if you noticedit, but if it's been there for
more than thirty days, so you'reyou're on the right track. Go ahead
and get that done and do itsystematically. Three oh three seven one three

Yeah? Hi, Tom? Howare you good? Cheryl? What's going
on? I just have a questionabout the post office. I have a
friend that's been having her mail deliveredto my house for ten years because she's
(01:27:09):
been homeless and so but anyway, she called me this morning and said that
her doctors had got all their allthe mail they sent him to hear returned
and said they can't. Oh,hold on except she did she have a
forwarding address or did she have itas her mail drop? She had it
(01:27:33):
as her mail drop. Okay, now listen, here's what I want to
know. She had it as hermail drop and so it was listed as
her address. Yes. How doyou know that? Well, because up
(01:27:53):
until about the beginning of this month, I've been getting all her mail.
I mean, I get her maidand then all of a sudden, it's
all of a sudden, it stopped. Yeah, basically, But I mean
I just today she called and saidher doctor to God and all all their
I get it. I know Iheard you. So listen, here's what
I want to know. Why don'tdid you contact the post office to find
(01:28:16):
out why I couldn't get through.I'm mentally impaired and I couldn't get through
their their toxis their system. Ohwell, listen, you're going to have
to do that on your own becauseor visit them. You can visit your
(01:28:36):
local post office. That's what Iwould do, and just say that your
friend gets mail at your house andshe stopped getting it. It's that easy.
So it's being held at the postoffice right or sent back. But
I thought it only me or hercould change that. I didn't. That's
(01:28:58):
right. Well someone did. Someonedid. Or it wasn't done as a
permanent change. It was done asa temporary and temporary changes automatically stop after
a certain amount of time, Andthat's what I think happened. It wasn't.
But be very careful, Cheryl, let me explain this to you.
If you make it a permanent changeand claim that's her address, I don't
(01:29:21):
know how well you know this person. How well do you know them?
Sorry? Well, yeah, Iknow. I've known her since nineteen nineties.
Okay, is she a friend?H Yeah, she's a friend.
Yeah. Where does she live?God, I'm not sure. She's living
with her dad somewhere down on coldDash. I don't know where. Okay,
(01:29:45):
Cheryl, let me explain this toyou. If you put if she
puts that down as her permanent address, you open yourself up to her showing
up one day and claiming residency andyou have to evict her. If I
reused, she has already been evicted. She can't she she's not supposed to
(01:30:08):
come. Well, there was athere was a restraining order against her for
a while. But well, whatdo you mean against her from you,
from from the uh HOA. Ithink her from my sister wanted it too.
Okay, so you are mentally impaired. Does your sister take care of
(01:30:30):
you? Yeah? Okay, Cheryl, here's my recommendation. Don't worry about
her now, truly, truly, yeah, don't do it. Just let
her take care of it. Please, don't don't get involved. Okay.
I think your sister and the HOAhad your best interest at heart. Please

you have an electric water softeners.I've never heard of those. Are
you talking about the things that clamponto the pipes it boils around it?
(01:32:04):
Yeah? Okay, I'm Bob andI might have a disagreement on this,
but it's okay because I I butI don't believe in them, not one

the molecules in the water right there? No, this one is supposed to

Yeah, okay, listen most ofthe Margie, there's controversy about softeners,

and I don't want to get intotoo much of it. But truly,
I'm going to tell you something thoseso called magnetic or electromagnetic or electric water
softeners. I'm just going to tellyou they don't work. Okay. They
don't realign squat and if they do, it doesn't have a long range effect.
It just doesn't work like you thinkit does. Okay, Okay,
(01:33:16):
Now there are some go ahead pulsatingit has a pulsating electrically whatever. No,
I know how what's the name ofit? Jarna, Jarna, Yarna?
Now how much did it cost?Yeah, it doesn't work and it
(01:33:40):
never will work. Let me explainsome of this to you. It's called
a water descaler, first of all. Okay, okay, And here's the
problem. It just doesn't work. You must in order for softeners to work,
they have to they have to literallytake out the minerals from the water.
(01:34:00):
Okay, that's what softens water. That's what I thought too. And
it's not going to work. Okay, it's just not going to work.
And the way you tell is bydoing a test. Do a water test.
And and you know, Bob,I don't know if you do water
tests on hardness. We do.And again where a lot of people get
confused, there's a big difference betweenfiltration and water softening. They're two entirely
(01:34:25):
different different and so what these discalersare supposed to do is break down the
mineralization. Yeah, keep it frombuilding up on your But there might be
a way for them to advertise thatthey descale, because they might microscopically do
something electrically, but it's not goingto make any difference in the long run.
I'm going to tell you truly thatthis is a controversial area. As
(01:34:47):
Bob said, filtration is for purification, right, Softening is a different thing
altogether. Softening literally takes out theminerals from the water. And again,
like I said, I know Bob, Plumbline is a great company, but
water Pros also they that's all theydo is water testing. That's all they
do. And I'm not saying youshouldn't go to Plumbline. I'm just saying
(01:35:09):
that water Pros has made it theirlife's mission just for water, just for
the quality of water, nothing else. And so but what I want to
say is this, Okay, whenit comes to softening, though, be
careful because the only thing that matters, the only thing that matters is testing
the water. That's it. Andyou will find if you test your water
(01:35:32):
before and after using that, there'snot going to be any difference to your
water. It's that easy. Okay, It's just that easy. And you're
also not going to notice any difference. You're not going to feel any different
when you have softer water. Youcan feel it. And again, I
don't want to get into too muchof the controversy because there are some systems
that I know people believe highly inthat I just will tell you the same
(01:35:56):
thing. It's all in the testingof the water. Now, I will
say this. There are thank you, There are softeners, and then there
are other things that mimic softening, and it depends on what you want the
softener for. There are some softenersthat truly make your skin and laundry better,
(01:36:26):
healthier. It takes the minerals outliterally, you feel it, Okay,
you feel it on your skin.Soap lasts longer, laundry gets cleaner.
Then there are softeners, they callthem conditioners or softeners that don't take
the minerals out. They don't claimto, but they claim to preserve your
(01:36:46):
plumbing. But they never claim everto extend soap or to keep your skin
softer, or to be more penetrating. And those are more are like a
halo. I don't want to getinto the controversy because plumb Line sells halo
and I love Plumbline. We alsosell egal water. No, no,
I know you sell both. That'sexactly right. I should mention that you
(01:37:10):
sell both. But my personal opinionis, if you want the benefit of
soft water, the full benefit, you don't get one that simply advertises saving
your pipes, okay, because that'snot the whole reason to have water conditioning
is to save you softening good.If somebody truly wants a water softener,
(01:37:31):
we're going to give them an EEGwater exactly. You're not gonna do that.
That the other the other one,and even the other one that claimed
There have been cases, and I'vebeen studying this around the country. There
were cases where people bought these otherkinds of softeners to preserve their boilers and
(01:37:51):
stuff, and their boilers still failedand had massive scaling. And there are
lawsuits going on telling you that that. But but here's what counts. The
warranties, the companies behind it,and what you're trying to accomplish. That's
all I'm saying to you. Ithink that's the key. Tom. What
do you what is it you're tryingto accomplish and have a system designed to
(01:38:15):
to give you the results you're actuallylooking at exactly. Okay, now,
David, you have an issue withyour neighbor's tree. What's going on,
David? Yeah, you know, during this last windstorm about three weeks ago,
my neighbor's tree, so pine treewas blown over and it, uh
(01:38:40):
you know, landed into my yard, into my backyard. Did it do
did it do damage? It dida little damage to my gutter. But
that's not the part I'm so.I know that if it did damage,
like to your house, you haveto put a claim in on your insurance.
(01:39:01):
Yeah, but his insurance could cancover it as well. Hold on,

You're a Trump Peter three three sevenone to three Talks seven one three
eight two five five. Welcome tothe show. Let's talk. Let's find
out what we can do for you, as we do every day. It's
an exciting show man. We gotso many different topics. So on the
(01:40:10):
neighbor's tree, David, to makea long story short, I want to
know what the issue is first,go ahead. So the issue is he's
refusing to clean up the tree, even though it's part of it's in his
yard and he I mean the partthat fell into your yard. He's refusing
to clean. Yeah, and sohe's he he or even you know,
(01:40:36):
help me, you know, likego in hand. Well, that's just
not being a good neighbor. Okay, did it break a fence? Did
it break a fence? It brokeit did break a fence? And whose
fence is it? It would behis fence. I mean, I don't
know how fence laws work. Butdefense was there before we built our house.
Well, usually if it's there beforeyou built, and it's on the
(01:40:57):
property line, it's a shared responsibility. If it's on one or the other,
it's whose ever property is on.Now here's another thing, real quick,
and then I can hold you overif you want to discuss this more.
If this guy did anything negligent, like didn't take take care of the
tree or something, he could beresponsible for the damage. If it's simply
an act of God and any treewould have fallen at any time and it
(01:41:20):
wasn't old and deteriorating, And ifhe did nothing wrong, then it's he
doesn't have to literally clean it up. You clean up your side, he
cleans up his side. So reallyit's not magic, it's logical. Yeah,
However, being a good neighbor wouldmean you both do it exactly.
(01:41:43):
And the other thing is that hehad two other trees actually bigger than mine,
get blown over. These are allpine trees in the front of his
house. He's got all the equipment, he's got chainsaws and chippers, and
he's young, he's a young hecleaned the one in front of his house.
(01:42:03):
Uh, you know, very quickly. Why do you think? Why
do you think he's not cleaning theone on the side of the house next
to you. So, first ofall, we've never had any problems,
we've never had anything. We've gottenalong, we've been there. But there's
there's got to be a reason hecleaned the others and not that one.
(01:42:26):
I don't know, but if youwant to hold on, I'd like to
discuss it. And I'm running outof time because it's fascinating why he would
choose that. I'm Tom Martine morewith Plumbline Services and your calls coming up.

Welcome Bob. Let's talk. Let'stalk the first. This neighbor's tree.
(01:44:00):
Here's what I want to know,Bob, truly you have a tree.
If you did nothing wrong. Let'ssay you did nothing wrong and the
tree fell over into your neighbor's yard, blew over, fell over, I
don't know, uh, maybe evendid a little damage. Let's say,
what would you do if you didnothing wrong but the tree happened to be
your tree that fell over? Whatwould you do if there were my tree?
(01:44:23):
Yeah, I would take care ofit. I would like, hey,
Jim, you know, I'm sorrythis happened. It's you know,
obviously the winds and everything else.Let me take care of this for you,
just as a good neighbor. Justtake care of it. Yeah,
So, David, your neighbor hada couple of trees come down. Was
it a windstorm or what? Yeah, it was the windstorm, that real
(01:44:44):
heavy wind we had. Okay,Okay, So it wasn't his negligence that
caused it, was wind right,Yeah, you know. Now I've had
a couple arborists look at the treeand they say that there's evidence of root
rock. Yeah, but maybe notsomething he knew and ignored. Okay,
So let's just say this. Let'sjust say it was an act of god.
(01:45:08):
He cleaned up the others, butnot the one that fell over in
your property. Did he clean theone that the part that was on his
property of that tree? No,that that's still you know. Okay,
So why has he totally ignored justthat one tree and cleaned up the other
two. The only thing I canthink of is he initially he initially acted
(01:45:28):
like he was going to do it. Then he asked me if I had
contacted my insurance, and he saidthat he had contacted his and his insurance
company told him that I would haveto put a claim in on my insurance.
And he said so, I said, I said, yeah, I'm
you know I probably realized, youknow, I agree with that, or
that's what I've heard, But Isaid, I have you know, this
(01:45:53):
is going to be way below mydeductible, so it would make no sense
for me to put in an insuranceclaim. But David, when he talked
about insurance claim to begin with,is that because you asked him for something?
No? No, I didn't askhim for anything. In fact,
I didn't even know my gutter hadbeen damaged. So he's the one that
actually pointed out the gutter damage. So okay, so he said to you,
(01:46:16):
so in other words, he thoughtyou should take care of your own
damage, which is true, yourgutter should be handled by you unless he
did something wrong or exactly. Butif it was me, I think if
it was me and my tree fell, I would probably want to help fix
it because I don't know why, just because of my tree, even if
(01:46:41):
I did nothing wrong, I feeland I've actually done that before with other
Yeah, but I don't think hehas to, and I don't think he's
a bad guy not to. Butdid he actually say to you, by
the way, I'm not responsible forthat. Did he say anything like that?
Yeah? I mean, And that'sthe thing is he's basically said,
yeah, well he's let me saythis. He had, he actually hasn't
(01:47:04):
said that. He's kind of keepsinto she kind of keeps me, keeps
making comments like well, we willwork this out, or we need to
work this out. But then hedoesn't do anything. And I think that's
why he hasn't cleaned it up.I think in for what, how do
they call in for a penny,in for a pound or in for anounce
in pound what. I think he'safraid to address it at all because he
(01:47:26):
doesn't want you to expect him tofix anything. I really believe that is
his fence still broken, yeah,or your fence or out the two of
you. I think he doesn't knowhow to address it. So did you
ever say to him, Hey,since you didn't do anything wrong and it
was an act of God, I'lltake care of my gutter and I'll take
(01:47:46):
care of cleanup on my side. What do you say we split the cost
of the fence? Yeah, Andhe says that I should have. He
just keeps saying, well, Ithought you were put in a claim on
your insurance, And I told himI said, I never said I was
putting a claim on my insurance. But you're not asking for anything from him.
(01:48:09):
I accept half of the fence, can I yeah, I've said can
you you know, can you willyou at least help with you know,
half the cleanup? And he hewell, no, no, no,
hold on that. I didn't sayhave to clean up. Here's what I'm
saying. If you said to him, look, I'll clean up everything on
(01:48:31):
my side and i'll fix my gutter. You clean up everything on your side,
and then we split the fence.Yeah, we haven't really you know,
talked about that. We haven't eventalked about it. I mean,
he won't. It's been hard forme to even talk to him. The
guy is gonna split and what Itold you isn't the ideal situation either,
(01:48:56):
what I suggested, but he's notgoing to do anything beyond that. I
mean, the fence is it's justthe panel got the the fence. The
panel can be just screwed back on. Okay, so it's not like major
dammage. So then let me askyou something. Why did you clean up
your side? Not yet? It'swhy it's a big tree. First of
(01:49:18):
all, he was indicating like hewas going to do it. And then
okay, he and then he keepssaying, well, we need to work
this out, and then he nevercalls me back and nothing ever happened.
Yeah, I just think the guydoesn't know what the hell to do.
I mean, I mean, ifyou just went and cleaned up your is
it going to be like, isit going to cost you a lot to
(01:49:39):
fix that? To come up?So the lowest that I've gotten so far
as sixteen hundred. Now that yousinging, oh wow, wait a minute,
was this a giant tree and it'smostly on your side? Yeah,
it's a giant pine tree, probablyabout thirty feet tall. Okay, so
most of it's on your side. Most of it's on my side. That
(01:50:00):
the kangaroo ball is, you knowin his yard. It was it was
a tree that was really right nextto the fence. But really and truly,
really and truly it was an actof God, and you really exactly.
I mean, he really isn't responsiblefor it. I mean, he's
not really responsible for it. That'swhat I was trying to figure out,
(01:50:25):
because I know insurance wise he wouldn'tbe. But you know, it's kind
of like like if your insurance fixedit, they wouldn't go after him unless
they thought it was negligence. Itall comes down to negligence, I mean,
other than just you know. Andyou know, the other thing is
I recently had a health issue andI told him this, I'd help you
(01:50:46):
do it if I was healthy. But I can't walk right now. So
I had a stroke in August. So geez, how are you doing?
By the way, thing, howare you doing? I'm slowly recovering.
Have you been left with the withthe full capacity? I have trouble walking,
(01:51:12):
but my walking keeps improving, andI'm I'm hoping to make a full
recovery to where I can now walkwithout a walk, or at least around
the house. So I'm not sosteady outside. But I even went out
and tried to, you know, cut a few branches myself, and I
(01:51:32):
just don't have the balance. Butthat's the thing is, you know,
we've been good. We've been neighborsfor twenty five years. Actually, uh,
you know, limp tools back andforth, but I don't. And
you know, it's just the strangestthing that he's just suddenly decided and the
fact that he, you know,he took the bigger tree that was in
(01:51:55):
his front yard. He had itall stripped down and cut up in like
an hour because he's got all theequipment and everything, and he sort of
indicated, you know, they know, I'll get to your tree whatever.
And then and then you know, then the next day he was like,
I can't think if he has likethe chainsaws and all the equipment. Have
(01:52:17):
you said, have you asked himto help you and you'll pay? Yes?
And he just one of the thingshe keeps telling me is that,
you know, the city we livein, which is Wheat Ridge, they
don't have the branch drop anymore. What does that mean, Well, you
know a place to go bring yourbranches. So they had set up a
(01:52:42):
thing like the weekend after the stormat a park where you could go bring
your branches and drop them off.Yeah, and he's got a big truck
that you know. He I don'tknow this whole thing is it sounds sucks.
It sucks. I mean, that'show I mean. I I've never
(01:53:03):
known what the actual law is.But when we had a tree, when
we've had trees at the other houseI lived in where branches broke off into
neighbor's yards, which happened a coupleof times, and we went over and
cleaned it up. I don't carewhat the law was. No, I
know, obligation, you understand. That's what I'm talking about too. I'm
not talking about being in a goodneighbor. I'm talking about just the flat
(01:53:27):
out, black and white of it. And that's that's that's where I was
trying to get out. I know, insurance wise, but I was just
wondering, since you know it's hisproperty, is it still always you know,
legally my you know, the person'sIt depends. Like I said,
there is no straight answer. Imean, if he neglected those trees and
(01:53:49):
they blew over, but if thiswas a bad windstorm and a lot of
people had no no one is goingto be responsible for acts of God.
I mean, no one will berespect it now and you all take care
of your own property. And it'sthat simple. It's kind of strange about
this. Is the other tree thatfell in his front yard actually fell it's
(01:54:12):
right next it's between us, usand my drive it's between him and my
driveway. Is fell onto my driveway, partly on my driveway. But he
cleaned that one up. But there'swell, there's no rhyme. I mean,
there's no rhyme or reason man.I mean you're gonna have to just
confront it and talk to him. There's no answer for this, I mean,
no clean answer. Three all threeseven one three talk seven one three

Julie, what's going on? Julie? Now your son tell me about it?
Okay. I have an adult son, he's twenty seven. On November
twenty first, he was taken tothe hospital after a choking incident. Now,
(01:56:11):
now, what do you mean bya choking name? Okay, he
has like his esophagus shrinks and itsounds really strange. But he choked on
a piece of meat. I've heardof that before. Now did you call?
Was he at home with you whenthis happened, or at home by
himself somewhere elsese. No, helives with us, and we live in
(01:56:36):
a remote location. It's about fortyminutes from the nearest hospital. And so
I did call the ambulance and theycame, and they made a decision not
to try to use a device toremove the lodged food from his throat,
(01:56:58):
and decided to take him in theambulance to the hospital. Now, wait
a minute, was he breathing?Yes, but he during this time he
became really delirious and My husband andI were really confused at why he was
acting the way he was, butwe found out later. Okay, tell
(01:57:21):
me what happened. Okay, gotto the hospital. The piece of food
was dislodged on the way there, but they made the decision to continue the
trip. Got him to the hospital, and at some point my husband and
I were following in the car,so we weren't there to witness anything.
(01:57:43):
But at some point he became verycombative with the doctors and the nurses.
But why was he competive? Doyou know? One hit them? It
meningitis and it was brought on fromchoking. Now we were told this,
Oh wait, wait, wait waitmeningitis. Meningitis isn't caused by choking.
(01:58:09):
Well, it has something to do. Now, I'm not a doctor.
They tried a deputy dog me ata hospital in the Springs. I've never
heard of that, tom. MeningitisIs that a swelling of the brain.
It's a bacterial infection of the ofthe membrane around the brain. Okay,
(01:58:29):
so either there's either viral or bacterial. Yeah, but but either way it's
not brought on by choking. Well, you know, I that's just what
the nurses and the doctor. Well, okay, at a hospital, but
he when he was there for choking, they did find out he did he
(01:58:50):
have viral or did he have what? What kind of meningitis did he have?
It was viral, they told himhim. Okay, so he became
combative the loss of oxygen. Yeah, and they said loss of oxygen caused
(01:59:12):
a lot of it. But anyway, well, you kid in the hospital
and okay, but neither here orthere. They arrested him in the hospital
because of you know, he attackedthe staff. Of course, we did
not see him. We arrived atthe hospital, we were told that he
was being put under arrest. Theythey did, so my husband and I
(01:59:36):
came home. I waited for aphone call from him to tell me,
you know, if he can,I ask, when you left a lot
of parts. I have to getclarification. He was arrested when he became
combative. Did they find out whatwas wrong with him before they arrested him?
(02:00:00):
In other words, was he arrestedafter they knew he had meningitis?
No, okay, he was atthe hospital, became combative, then they
arrested him, and then what whenwas it found out he had meningitis.
I am not okay, there areso many parts of this story because it
(02:00:24):
doesn't make sense to me. Firstof all, if he's in the hospital
being combative, they would not arresthim. Did they take him away from
the hospital to jail. Yes,well, they wouldn't do that. If
he had meningitis, they wouldn't removehim. They would put him under custody
there. But it doesn't make senseto me that they would take a sick
(02:00:45):
person with meningitis out of the hospital, right, So it doesn't Your story
is incomplete, Okay. At thispoint, Tom, we don't believe they
knew he had meningitis. That wasn'ta diagnosis that they made. I believe
(02:01:05):
the diagnosis was made at another hospital, Okay, because the hospital that he
was taken to is not like ait's kind of a band aid hospital.
Would but forgive me for this.Let me just cut to the chase.
If you're trying to use meningitis asa defense, is that the bottom line?
(02:01:29):
No, he was charged with assaultfor the doctors and nurses got it.
However, Okay, he was arrested, taken to jail, and he
missed several court dates. My husbandand I couldn't figure out why. He
(02:01:53):
has had issues with the law inthe past, but he would immediately call
to see if he could, youknow, get a bond or whatever.
When he was arrested. How longwas he in custody, We're not sure.
He was arrested on the twenty first, he was the very next day.
(02:02:15):
He had a court appearance set onthe twenty second. He missed that.
Well, how did he miss itif he was in custody, how
did he miss a court appearance? They told me that he was not compliant,
and then he had not been bookedin. But Tom, he but
(02:02:40):
we believe he was in the hospitalagain. And note Julie of Julie,
Julie, please listen, please helpme, help you. You said he
was arrested, Then you said thevery next day he missed court. Now
that tells me he was arrested andreleased, because the only way he would
(02:03:08):
miss court is if he was onhis own. If he was in custody,
he would not have missed the hearingthe hospital. Tom, Wait,
but but okay, But we believethat he was taken back to the hospital

family member. I had the enginereplaced. Figure it out street car kids
got to go to see you.So now you bought it for him?
Yeah, I bought it for it'sin my name, but I bought it
for him. Got it colic kid. Figure that's you know, good all
(02:06:09):
around car. Well he you know, driving it, he had some problems
enginecy stuff. The family member thatI got it from, Oh, take
it to the mechanic down here inColorado Springs that worked on it the first
time, went back and forth alittle bit. Got it there to them,
gave him a one thousand dollars deposit. This is in September of twenty
twenty three. He said, oh, I'm gonna you know, I'll get
(02:06:30):
to it. Got a year thenext car up, Well seven months went
by, and during that time, texting back and forth telling me all the
work he's doing or he has todo this, and what's the name of
the shop. It's Mobile Crew Chiefwith a guy named the owner of ben
Ortiz. Now the problem is nowork has been done. I mean I
(02:06:55):
asked for invoices, I asked foryou know, itemization of work that hasn't
And where's the shop low kidded inColorado Springs? Okay? And and the
guys, is he ghosting you ordid he tell you why no work has
been done? No? He No, he a lot a lot of and
I did call him on CA butI did a lot of things through text
(02:07:16):
methods so I could have a recordbecause I figured something fishy was going on.
So he would say only had partsissues your But did you did you
pay anything up front? A thousanddollars? I gave a thousand dollars deposits
now that okay? That that's see. That's what pisses me off now because
it would be different if you didn'tpay anything. So you paid a thousand
(02:07:39):
bucks. The guy probably spent themoney now and doesn't have it. Did
you say his name is Ben Ortiz? No? I did Ben Ortiz and
Mobile crew chie appear in college.I'm trying to figure out mobile crew chiefs
Ben Ortiz? Okay? And whatdoes he say now, what's his latest
word to you? Well? Hehe did say, is like, oh,
(02:08:01):
without giving me any documentation, hesaid, all it needs a new
engine. It'll be five thousand dollarsI said, great, I'm gonna,
you know, come get the car, because obviously it was blowing smoke.
So I got the car. Igot it back home. Oh wait a
minute, so you did. Youdid get it back But now you're out
of thousand bucks for nothing? Yeah, exactly for nothing. And I'm not
in a mechanic, but I spentthirty five years in the Army. I
(02:08:24):
know what maintenance looks like. Andwhen I popped the hood on this car
and there's an inch of dust onit and everything is connected like it was
when I turned it in, thattells me no work has been done in
addition to nothing. Well is benOrtiz? Is he is he claiming he
did a thousand dollars worth of work? No, he said, oh,
I'll refund you. But now he'sghosting me. Then I finally got hold
(02:08:48):
of me. He said, oh, there was somebody that was disputing something
on four square that was the sameamount. I got to make sure it's
not you. But then I gotghosted again. You know what, Deputy
Doc, can we give this guy? I'm gonna let Deputy Doc call this
clown. This sounds like a clownto me. Now we're at the show,
talk whenever you want, Doc,I mean, Steve, this is
something where I think, Heed,we just need to light a little fire
(02:09:11):
under him at this point. Exactly. Yeah, it's one thousand dollars for
nothing, and I think, listen, it's the same old syndrome. Man.
When you pay people money up front, they have a tendency to use
it when they have when they don'thave cash flow, it sucks. Exactly
(02:09:33):

from you, and then we havemore coming up. Three oh three seven

Services, Steve, We're gonna getdeputy doc on your car problem. Plumb
(02:10:18):
line service has got a question aboutplumbing. Excuse me, not plumbing,
HVAC. Are you still having thespecial This guy wants to know about the
free something with the free furnace withthe AC. We are that actually ends
tomorrow, but if you if youset the appointment, it doesn't have to
(02:10:39):
be done by tomorrow. Doesn't haveto be done by tomorrow. Just set
the appointment. Say you were listeningTom Martine, and we'll honor that.
So it's a free furnace with thepurchase of a matching air conditioning. And
this is a real deal, bythe way, folks, this is not
raising the price of one to getthe other. And most of the time
when you get an AC, isn'tness is it ness to change both?
(02:11:01):
It's not necessary to get both. But especially nowadays, all the systems communicate
together along with the control system.Yes, and so you're always better replacing
them. And typically this they're thesame age anyway, so we we typically
recommend what goes first, by theway, normally, what goes first,
normally a furnace or an AC.Typically the furnace, just because we use
(02:11:22):
them more in Colorado and they bothuse the furnace air box, right,
Yeah, the furnace acts is theair move the air handler the air mover,
Yes, so that's what moves theair through your house. But but
yeah, I mean you can doyou can do one or the other or
both and and you know we're goingto give you options, all the options
from a budget piece of equipment toa luxury with all the bells and whistles
(02:11:46):
and a few options in between, whether it's just a furnace, just an
AC or a combination package. Solet me see if I can. There's
no obligation. Let me ask thatthis is a good question. Then what
if someone doesn't have a furn Thisis somebody hot water heat and they want
to get the furnace, but theywant to get the AC and they have
which is what you said, anair handler, but they don't have a
(02:12:07):
furnace. Do they get any creditfor the like? In other words,
if they're getting the AC anyway, but they don't need the free furnace,
what do you Is there any kindof a credit they can get for them?
Oh? I see, you meanas far as the special goes.
Yeah, I'll as a Tom Martinolistener, I'll give two hundred and fifty
dollars off that. Okay, soagain I'll just make sure my but so,
basically, if you have hot waterheat though I never thought of that
(02:12:33):
or some you know, and thenyou get an AC, do you replace
the air box two or do youreplace just the or do you keep the
old air box? Yeah? Soso the he may just have an air
handler in air head. So it'sit's it's like a furnace. Do they
have to be changed with the AC? Not necessarily? All right? By
(02:12:54):
the way, plumb Line Services dotCom three oh three, five eight six,
ten eighty six tell him Tom sentyou remember folks, uh, you
can always call three zho three Martinofor help and save all your problems for
