Yeah, ripped news needed, that'swho you don't have? Running as fast
as you can. Shooter's gonna helpcome Man Dix is the Troubleshooter Show.
(00:22):
Now Tom Martine, Hey, I'mTom. Welcome to the show. What
is going on? Welcome one?And all all those listening right now in
the radio, all those listening onFacebook and YouTube and especially my YouTube morns
and then of course are downloads youmight be listening to this the day two
three four later. Who knows?I'm welcome to Who's that is that?
(00:45):
Me? Oh? That's you?Okay, Sorry, Paul the waterman making
noise today? Thank you? Paultalking about making noise seriously. Now let's
get right to that, and thenI'm gonna go to the owns. Tom
wants to talk about caliber collision, which usually we don't hear bad things about,
(01:06):
but anything on your mind. Here'sthe important thing folks to remember about
this show. Never have to wait. You can call three oh three Martino
twenty four to seven three three sixtwo seven eight four sixty six. That
number is getting very popular around thecountry. People are spreading it around because
they don't know where to go forhelp, and this is the only place
(01:26):
ever, the longest running radio showin America is still on the air with
the same host. I say,the longest running show in the universe.
I don't know of many others, but anyway, So we have Paul the
Waterman with us, and he saysthere are microscopic amounts of pharmaceuticals and also
(01:51):
plastics. Now I liken it tothis. If you ever saw a bucket
of water or glass water or whatever, a gallon water and I took my
finger and put it I'm serious now, and just touched dog poop, just
(02:13):
touched it and then dip my fingerin water in the water. Would you
drink that water? Of course youwouldn't. Now, I'm not saying that
your water's filled with poop. Here'swhat I'm saying. Though. It definitely
has more impurities than I just described. But people when they see something,
they think, ah, right, yeah, But when they don't see it,
(02:38):
they ingest it. That goes forfood, that goes for drink,
that goes for everything. Now,I don't want to make everyone paranoid.
We do what we can right supplementation, we do what we can with nutrition.
We do what we can in life. And one of the most plentiful
(02:59):
new nutrients is water. But wedon't necessarily do that because we rely on
water systems. Now, I've oftensaid municipal water systems, Paul. They
remove the cats and the dogs andthe mice and the giant particles from water.
Correct, They don't do anything else. That's it. Now do they
(03:20):
purify? They do? They dopureify in a way. Explain what purification?
Like chlorine? Doesn't that kill stuff? Well, they use the chloramine,
so they're sanitizing the water. Okay, So what does that mean to
sanitize water, Well, disinfects. So does it take out the prescription drugs?
No? And you have to becareful because there are amba brain eating
(03:42):
amibas that are in municipal water supplies, and so the CDC issued a alert
for these nettipots and because people usingthese, you know, to rench your
nasal. It happened in Texas andFlorida. Yeah, it killed, It
got into their brain. So youhave some micro organisms. We have pharmacutals
that we have plastics. We'll betalking about that through the show to enlighten
(04:04):
your day or to make let's say, it's not something people like talking about,
but listen, I'm not telling youyou should worry about everything you do.
But if you're going to take thetime to cook right, eat right,
supplements health you know, then youshould take the time to at least
(04:26):
do what's right with drinking water.Paul the Waterman is here waterpros dot Net.
Tom wants to talk about Caliber collision. So Tom, what's going on?
What's happening? Man? Hey,good morning, Good morning Tom.
Thanks for having on your show theproblem with caliber collision. But now what's
the problem? Tom? Start fromthe beginning. What kind of accident,
what kind of damage? What happened? Yeah, I was on I seventy
(04:51):
and I had my truck camper inand I was hit my commercial vehicle,
you know, one of these vehiclecarriers. Okay, that was in twenty
nineteen, I believe December. Iwent to calber to get it fixed in
I think about March April timeframe, and they fixed it. It was the
damage was back to the rear twoquarter panels. Caliber collision and what what's
(05:14):
wrong? Now? What's right? Not? Well, their repair failed.
Actually on the has a big cracks. Well, one night during the winter,
I just came back and it justhad a long about four inch crack
and so obviously they repaired it ina bond with a bounder like product.
Well, did hold on? Nowthis was a rear quarter panel. And
(05:39):
did they replace They obviously did notreplace the panel. Then they bonded it.
Yeah, they bonded it. Howbad was the replaced I mean how
bad was the panel that was damaged? It caused it was bent? It
had about a four inch bend init. Why didn't they placed it?
(06:00):
Did you? I mean when youusually when I have an accident or I
have something happened to my car,I always say, listen, I want
a new part if it's someone else'sfault. Did you insist on new parts?
I mean what happened back then?I did not insist on it.
But I thought, you know,a reputed brand like Caliber, that they
would do their dual diligence. Andwhen did it fail? I failed in
(06:27):
twenty twenty one during the winter. But what are we doing in twenty twenty
four right now? Am I havea piece of vinyl over it just to
keep working? No? No,I mean why are we Okay? I
know exactly well No, No,I'm asking you. Why are you calling
me today? If it happened intwenty twenty. I didn't hear about your
(06:53):
show. I just heard about yourshow. Okay, So what were you
doing from then until now? Anything? Yeah? Called. I brought it
in. They took it for aboutthree four weeks and they said they would
repair it. So did it cracklike a year later? Yes? After
the repair it and they gave methe warranty work, they said it was
(07:13):
covered. Brought it back in.I thought it was. It cracked within
a year? It was? Wasit within a year? I believe so?
Yes, with a year and theyfixed it. No, I brought
it in. They said they'd fixit. They had the truck line their
idol Anthor a lot and I gota call from the service manager and he
(07:35):
said, hey, we're not goingto warranty it because you carry heavy loads.
It's a thirty five hundred, that'swhat the truck's for. What do
they want it to be? Agarage queen? First of all, you
should never you should have never gonefor the bondo. I don't even know
how that happened. But it's sofar ago it's it's too late to go
back. You could have made thatcompany pay for a new part. What
(07:57):
year was your truck at the time, it was twenty eighteen, so it
was a new truck. My god, you really got screwed. Man.
Ye, now here's your bad news. You hear me say on the show
call me, don't let it festerthree oh three, seven to one three
talk or three oh three Martino threeoh three sixty seven eight four sixty six.
(08:20):
Don't don't wait. If you wait, it's going to be a problem.
You. You really can't do anythingright now. You're way beyond any
statute limitations. You're you're you're waybeyond. Okay, I mean you just
sat too long on this. Youcan't you can't go back to them for
a You can't go back for afive year old repair right now, I
(08:46):
went back again. No, I'msaying, you can't do anything about it
unless they do it on their own. So when they wouldn't fix it back
then, what did you do?I kept complaining they did nothing. Okay,
So it's been cracked the entire time. Yes, it's been cracked the
(09:07):
entire time. Okay, well youneed to get it fixed. But I
hate to give you bad news,Tom, But why lie to you.
You're not going to be able toyou know, I mean, these guys,
it's five years ago. I mean, I don't think you can even
take in the court, especially becauseyou knew about it the whole time.
It's not like you just discovered it. They made up an excuse when they
(09:33):
told you it's because you carry aheavy load, but you did. You
kind of it's weird. You shouldyou in the very beginning should have stuck
up for yourself and demanded new parts. Okay, you should have looked at
the estimate, because here's what happened. Caliber they want to spend as much
as they can to make that repair. I don't think they cheaped on you.
(09:54):
I think it was the other insuranceadjuster who said this is what we're
paying for. Yeah, that's myfeeling. I mean, I'm telling you,
man, it sucks. I don'tthink there's anything you can do about
it. In fact, why doI keep saying I don't think there isn't
anything you can do about it,Not after all this time. No,
(10:18):
I'm sorry. Three oh three sevenone three talks seven one three eight two

Uh? Yeah, I had atransmit. I ordered a transmission from street

Welcome to the show. Three ohthree seven one three talk seven one
three eight two five five. Lonnie'sgot a transmission issue? Hey Lannie,
Uh, you order to rebuild transmissionfrom street Smart in March of twenty twenty
three. Continue please, Okay.I went ahead and installed it, gus
(12:37):
truck all running, Everything was good. Uh drove the truck four till uh
February of this year. How manymiles on it? About five thousand?
Okay? What happened? And wentout to pull the trailer out to get
a load of hay, and Iwound up having leave my trailer at the
(13:01):
supplier's place because the transmission started slipping. And so I thought, well,
you know, I'm not going toget truck and transmission and load back.
So I figured I'd be lucky toget myself back. Okay, So this
has been a year later. Basically, your transmission is slipping. Yes,
(13:22):
okay, hold on it. Andwhat do they say about it? It's
under warranty and they'll replace it nowOkay, he did that. Okay,
and we did that. Okay.Wait a minute, So now you're talking
about the second transmission. Yes,it doesn't have a thousand miles on it,
(13:43):
and it did the same thing.Wait a minute. Okay, so
you put a second one in.Yes, wow, at least they sent
a replacement, right, but youhad to work your ass off. Yes,
it was broken ribs. Okay,So how long did the other one
last? Less than a thousand miles? Yeah? Yeah? Almost? Okay,
(14:07):
So what do they say about that? Well? I called them last
week and they have not returned tomy call at this point. Okay,
did you here's what we need todo first and foremost. Is it a
rebuilt transmission or is it a sham? I mean, did you look up
trumps a street smart idea and whatis there? What are their ratings and
(14:28):
stuff? Tell me about it fromwhat I've looked. I looked up trust
Pilot. Yeah yeah, tell meabout it. Tell me about it.
And they're a triple A plus company. Okay, so are you doing anything
wrong? No, we need toget an expert opinion. I want to
(14:52):
talk on the air first and thenmaybe have you go check out one of
our experts. Where are you located? I am in Chaparral Valley in Dertrel.
Okay, God, you're way thehell out there, right out here?

(15:13):
Is that what you were going tosay? Uh? Huh, yeah,
were you there? I wasn't.Okay, Yeah, that's a cool little
airport chopper, isn't it Choppers?Yeah? Sorry, it is. It
really is chopper. This guy's fromway out there. Man. That's so.
(15:33):
Uh. You do all your ownwork, Lonnie. Yeah, I
work on tractors. I do.So you know what you're doing. It's
not like you're a shlock or somethinghere. Oh no, No, I
went to school for this when Iwas in my in my early twenties.
Okay, So here's what we're gonnado. We're going to first we need
to get an eyeball on it,because I know what Street Smart's going to
(15:56):
say. Well, if they're ghostingyou, we can call them first.
And if they say we're going tosend another one, my obvious question would
be why are two of them slipping? But first let's get Here's what I
want to do. I want totake one step at a time. First,
I want to get on Jeff Vickjust to get a general impression.
Then I want to get maybe Deputylet's do Deputy Chopper to call down there
(16:19):
and say, I say, downthere, where are they out of uh
Florida? Okay, down there?Call them and say, listen, why
do you think it happened twice?Just not confront him, but just get
an idea. Then third, ifwe have to, we need to get
it analyzed because these people need toreplace it. So let's first get Jeff
(16:41):
on three zero three seven to onethree eight two five five Lonnie hang on,
I'm going to mark that as pendingfor Jeff and we'll see what we
can do about it. Kasin saidKazin. I'm trying to think which what's
this problem? Was Kasin? Thisis about gift cards. I'm trying to
(17:02):
find your original call. I swearif people don't use the same name when
they call in, it's hard tofind. So Kasin, did you use
your name Kazin last time? No? Cousin and cousin. I'm sorry,
cosin Okay, I don't have aI don't have the name down, so
I'm sorry. I'll find the problem. Tell me about it. You know
(17:23):

didn't come up before. Yeah, they promised you two gift cards for two
phones, right, yes, andyou only got one. I'll get one,
can't wander. They already sended twoof it. One of them approve
it second goldment. I've decided, and they kid they decline and I called
(18:08):
it writing, I said, Icalled the Explity movement and talk to supervisor
there. Why was it declined?I don't know, because they told me
even I called you, Oh you'renot supposed to give you two hundred dollars
is card. But how do youhave to give you a handred dollars card?
I still listen. We already negotiateddo, Jason, he already told
(18:30):
me. All right, here's whatI want to know. They're claiming you
were only supposed to get two hundred. You're claiming you're supposed to get four
hundred, right, yes, allright, Now here's what I want to
know. Do you have proof thatthe offer was two hundred dollars each?
(18:51):
Yes? To prove it? Idon't have it. But they can listen
to the conversation because but they won't. But they won't. I don't know
why, because they're not going theybecause they won't. They're they're lying thieves.
They're not the only ones. Wehear this all the time with cell
phones. They lie all the time. Kasan. If you don't have independent
(19:12):
proof, we're not gonna be.They're gonna tell us they never said it.
I I mean, I would liketo tell them that they should make
good on it, but they're simplygonna say we never had that offer.
Hold on a second, I canlook on the way back machine. When
did they How long ago was thisoffer? There was July thirteen, twenty

Paul the Waterman's with us. Don'tforget waterpros dot net. By the way,
Jeff vic Kimmer Transmission Transmissions Denver dotCOM's website. Let's talk to him
about this. Hey, Jeff, what could you think of? And I'm
just gonna ask. I'm not sayinghe did it, but could installation do
(22:10):
it? He has two different transmissionsmail ordered and he did the uh installation
himself, and both of them slipped. One slipped within five thousand miles,
the other one slipped within a thousandthe replacement. What do you mean by
slipping? By the way, Lonnie, when you're driving, do you hear
(22:32):
a rev does it? Or doesit literally slip like the clutches half in
and out? No, it literallyslipped like you're slipping a clutch. It
had reverse. They both had reverse. The first one that went out,
I drove probably three miles in reversejust to get it to a safe place,
(22:53):
okay, And the second, thesecond I actually haven't drove it.
It's been parked for about a weekat this point. And I mean it
literally does not move. No,it will not move forward. It barely
creeps forward. And if I don'tknow a lot about transmissions, just enough
(23:15):
to be dangerous. But Jeff,do do transmissions have the clutches built in?
Right? They're built in automatic clutches, right, you have clutch packed
it will apply to engage. Uhso when he replaced them, when he
replaced his transmission with a rebuilt hepresumably got new clutches. Oh, you
(23:37):
definitely bick Okay, why would theyboth? Does it sound like a clutch
to you? Uh? Jeff,Well, it sounds like a possibility of
a clutch pack. Yeah, Imean it's it's only and forward than the
forward clutch pack itself would be myfirst thought. What else would cause line
pressure? Can cause it can causethat and eventually end up in you know,
(23:57):
a meltdown type situation restrictions in thecool on. What kind of vehicle
is this? It's a two thousandand four Dodge Ram pick up five Yeah,
thain th recorder Dealal Yeah, it'suh it's a forty eight R trans
(24:19):
okay now. And there's also aone way check valve inside one of the
kool lines on that that you shoulddefeat when you change that out because they
have the tendency to get restricted andstop cool flow. That has been removed.
That part of the warranty on thetransmission is the uh, all,
(24:41):
the the filler and the whole wholesystem has to be clear. And well,
here's what I want to know,Lonnie, when you sent the first
one back, did they find aproblem. Well, I haven't sent the
first one back, Okay, itdid not want They actually didn't say it
out for about four or five weeksbecause I guess they didn't have it in
(25:03):
house. I mean, so youstill have both transmissions? Yes, I
do. Okay. I'm of theschool of thought that it can't happen twice,
Okay, I just am. Ithink it's something Jeff is bringing up
that's outside of that rebuilt transmission.Jeff, how long would it take to
(25:29):
figure that out? You know,a couple hours. If I were you,
bro, I'd start looking at anothercause. I mean, Jeff,
what is your gut? Are you? Are you thinking? I'm not saying
this guy's an idiot. I'm notsaying he doesn't know what he's doing at
all. I'm saying it doesn't soundit sounds too coincidental. What about you?
(25:51):
Yeah, No, it definitely does. I mean, if something happened
with the vehicle that caused the firstmeltdown and that hasn't been fixed, man,
it's going to cause a second one. That's exactly what And I don't
think Here's what I think. Ithink when you install the first one,
the problem hadn't developed yet, andit developed in five thousand miles. And
(26:12):
when you installed the second one,it was already there. So it took
a thousand miles to manifest. Imean, it just seems too coincidental.
And Lonnie, I know you hatehearing that, but I'm looking up this
street Smart peep these treats that theyhave a great reputation for rebuilt transmissions.
(26:34):
Yeah, that's why I went withhim. I didn't have time to build
it myself. And you know,I get it. I get it,
hey, I would get you needto get it checked out, bro.
And like I said, before,we go after Street Smart for another tranny,
I would take it to Jeff andhave it looked at. I mean,
he can find that thing. Hecan find and a heartbeat us and
(26:55):
it could be something simple which endsup. Now you've got two transmissions.
Do they want the other one?Well, yeah, I've got it set
up. You know, I toldI emailed them to uh send the pickup
truck out. It's here and outof the truck. Now. I was
not able to take it out untilthe thirties of the April, just because
(27:15):
of time constraints and just other situationsthat I had to work on. Get
okay, listen, man, Iappreciate that you have problems. You know,
it's getting it, you know, like like I said, the logistical
stuff right now, Jeff, ficKimera transmission it's three oh three six nine
three fourteen hundred or find your ownexpert. But I would go with Jeff,
(27:37):
and I would I would, youknow, especially since he's talked to
us and I try to figure itout that way because I am convinced it's
outside of that transmission. We canhave a friendly bet, how about that?
Three oh three seven one three eighttwo five five. By the way,
in the house today we got DeputyChopper and we have Deputy Marvel.
Who else is there? That itDollar? Okay, so we got Dollar,
(28:03):
we got Chopper and we got Marvel. I feel sorry for her having
to be with those two lugs. But anyway, I digress. We got
Paul the waterman here. I gotmy own lug. Here, Paul the
waterman for water. We have aquick question here. They want to know
is there a system that takes careof everything like the hardness, the forever
(28:29):
chemicals, the pharmaceuticals, and drinkingwater. God, what's the most economical
to take care of all of those? So I do the whole house system.
We call that the Matrix with thesuper duper Pooper scooper every right,
everything including drinking water, well, drinking water is sil right right, the
point of use versus house moss. That's the only way about the pharmaceaut So
(28:52):
no matter what you add that.So what's the system that takes out everything
else. That's the Matrix multimedia KATIFfive activated carbon in resin. Now you're
still gonna beat the hell out ofcompetition on that all day long. Like,
can you give me an idea ofprice range? Yeah, we're looking
at for Martino listeners. I cando it for thirty nine to ninety five
(29:15):
installed. And what would a comparablesystem cost with some of these other contract
be honest, I know what itcosts. Twelve grand. This morning I
talked to a customer that called thethree other companies were out. They quoted
them twelve thous No twelve grand andthen so add to that the water system
at the kitchen verse osmosis. Right, so we're looking about fifty five hundred

me give you that number dependable peoplewe've known for years three oh three seven
seven zero two seven seven six.Hey, let's talk about Kasin again,
or cousin, or however you wantto say Kasin. I looked at a
(31:10):
time machine. I looked back.So here's the problem. Exfinity in that
year had three promotions. They hada gold promotion, a Platinum promotion,
and a Diamond promotion. And Idon't know which one call kicked in when,
(31:30):
but the Gold promotion offered a onehundred dollars gift card for each phone.
The Platinum promotion offered two hundred, and the diamond offered three hundred.
But some limitations applied and all ofthat. Given all of this, I

do not have enough information to fightfor you to say that they definitely offered
that to you, unless you knowyou had a copy of the conversation or

so it's not just substituting a phone, but adding a line. Did
(32:13):
you add two new lines to Exfinity? No? There, I have to
stay with my son. He didit because I'm not any proficiental do know
what I'm asking is this, wasthis a brand new account with Exfinity?
Yeah? Okay, Well if it'sa brand new account, that means you
had two new lines, two newphones. So depending on when you did
(32:36):
it, you had one of theseincentives. It could have been any one
of them. I don't I don'tknow what to say. Man, there's
no way I can go back andreconstruct that deal for you. I don't
know. But what we can dois, I mean we can warn others

Okay? Hey, yeah, SilveradoSpecialty truck is a rally sport supposed to
be a rally sport truck seventy onewith an R and T package. You
couldn't see me walk around the frontof it. It was three stack and
it was brand new in twenty twenty. Yeah, it was had two hundred

need to talk about this idea ofwaiting when you have a problem. This
(36:14):
one guy that had a rebuild transmissionin Mark, Well, no, that
he didn't wait. I'm sorry, that's the wrong one. The guy that
went to Caliber Collision in twenty nineteen, now think about that twenty twenty one,
twenty two, twenty three, twentyfour, five years ago. Five
years ago, he said the Bondocracked. First of all, you should
have never settled for Bondo when hedid a quarter panel. The other insurance
(36:37):
was paying for it. They cheapedout, but he was upset with it.
He said it happened right after therepair, like a year later or
within a year, but they neverfixed it. Now I understand he just
found out about the show. Sohe says, I'm going to call that
guy. That's great. I understandthat. But after five years, there's
(36:57):
nothing you can do. The morethere's statutes of limitation on fraud, breach
of contract. All of that sufficeit to say, there's nothing we can
do. He needs to just getit fixed the right way. Now,
this guy ordered a transmission and bothof them started the transmission started slipping where
(37:22):
it won't try now, our expertJeff Fike Kimbra transmissiys, that's two coincidental.
I said it too, meaning thatsomething's got to be in common with
both of those transmissions where it happened. The first one took a while to
happen, and then once the problemdeveloped with the truck, the second one
happened much sooner. The slippage Jeffsaid, it could be a stuck valve
(37:45):
or something pinched line, something inbetween, but probably not both transmissions doing
the same exact thing. I mean. And this is from a good rebuilder.
Now we're talking to Jeannette. Ibought a twenty twenty Chevy Rally Sport
(38:05):
at Johnson's Auto Plaza. She boughtit new and what's the problem. Well,
as I was taking it in toget serviced, and I started noticing
changes with the truck. What doesthat mean? What does that mean?
(38:29):
It started riding driving rougher. Thistruck was like, drove like a cadillag
and then it started driving like aPETSI can and now wait, it started
driving rough after it went in forservice. Yes, after which service I
(38:49):
wanted to get it torched. Iwent in to get it tort down.
I went in because mean the transmissionwas slipping. I'm so hold on that
it needed to be torn down. You took it in originally because the transmission
was slipping. Yes, okay, got it and that was under warranty.
(39:15):
Yes, but they said there wasnothing wrong. I would bring it in
because of a noise, and theysaid they didn't find anything at all.
My truck got lower. You couldn'tsee me walk around the truck. The
nose of it was at the topof my head. And now I can
wash the top of it. No, wait a minute, and you're telling
(39:37):
me when you went in and youtook your truck in, they didn't find
anything. But the appearance of yourtruck changed. No, But the truck
body itself was fine. I didn'tthink to look underneath. I just noticed.
I started looking at old pictures. But when I got the truck and
(40:00):
the leaf springs, there were threeto four now and everything was rhino blasted
underneath, and I thought it didn'tlook right. So what are you getting
at, Janette? Are you gettingat? They switched your truck. They
switched some significant parts out or switchedthe truck itself. I don't know how
they did it? Well, Idon't. I No one would be insane
(40:22):
enough to do that. Do youhave a VIN number in three or four
or five places? Have you checkedyour VIN numbers? Yes? I have?
It's that the no. No,okay, let's take one thing at
a time everything I've had, Jeanette, One thing at a time. Do
you have yep? Do you havethe same VIN numbers? Yes? I
(40:45):
do. Okay, So they didn'tswitch out the truck. So what did
they do? What? What isexactly? Did they take out leaf springs?
They were taking it down to stockand replacing other parts with used parts.
Why would they do that? Idon't know. So you're saying they
did something to your truck that changedthe entire nature of how it drives and
(41:10):
the suspension. Yes, how thehell would we ever verify that? I
got the tires rotated. I wantto get the tires rotated at Peerless And
they said they wouldn't put tires onit because it was to a vehicle over
two hundred thousand miles and wait, wait, wait, curving, They said
that your vehicle looks like it hastwo hundred thousand miles on it. Yep,
(41:36):
the tire the yeah, when Iwanted to get the tires rotated?
What wait wait wait did they saywhat did they say? Looked like it
had two hundred thousand miles on it. I don't know where the tire goes
on, where the bolts come out, where you slide the tire on the
calipers and everything. Yeah, butbut exact, Jennette, I need you
(42:00):
to help me understand. What areyou thinking? They changed out your wheel
hubs, They changed out a greatdeal underneath. Yeah, yep. Did
anyone else ever service that truck sinceyou've had it? And you mentioned rhino
rhino coding? Did you have rhinocoating on it before? Yes? And
(42:22):
a skid plate and that's not thereeither, and it's all rusted and they
switched out a good part. Howlong did they have your truck? One
time for three days, one timefor two days. And I found a
GPS on my truck as well?Wait, you a GPS meaning you never
(42:43):
had a GPS? Correct? Whenyou bring this up to the dealer,
what do they say? They thinkyou're crazy? Right? No? He
said, Well the salesperson asked me. He said, it's being taken down
the stock, isn't it? Isaid, yeah, I guess that's what
they're doing. Well, you meanit wasn't when you bought it brand new,
(43:07):
it was stock right as an Rand T package that had a high
performance of goass. Okay, okay, So do you have hold on?
Do you have the original Maroni sticker? Yes? Does it show those performance
(43:27):
parts? Yep? Okay, that'sgood. Can you do me a favor
yep. I want you to takea picture or a photo copy or some
kind of copy of that Maroni sticker. Then I want you to make a
note of everything that was taken off. You actually have the Maroni sticker from
(43:50):
when you bought it, so thatproves that stuff was on there. And
I want you to highlight for mewhatever is no longer there. I've done
all that. Can you send thatto me? Can you send that to
me? When did this happen? This has happened over a period of the
(44:13):
past year and a half. Waita minute, because I mean they take
off stuff a little at it.Wait wait, wait, they take stuff
off a little at a time.I'm not certain. I don't know if
it's when I just Jeanette, whywould you keep going back there? Because
I had to argue with them.Jeanette, I don't under I'm going to
(44:37):
ask another question. I'm going toask another question, and I promise you're
going to be upset with me,but I don't mean it to upset you.
Okay. Have you had other weirdthings happening in your life? Yeah?
I suppose so. Okay, now, Jeanette, I'm asking this hold
(45:00):
on. I'm trying to figure outif there's something bigger going on here,
maybe with that has nothing to dowith the car dealer. Maybe someone else
is doing What other weird things havebeen going on my son's car the same
thing. It's it's totally different. It's not an SXT. So your son's
(45:22):
car has been switched out to Yeah, and I bought that at Johnson's as
well. All right, what else? What else? Things missing from my
house and things like? Okay, hey, Jeanette, do me a favor.
Send me that sticker. Okay, send me that Maroni sticker. Kachina,

(47:02):
we just had someone drop off.I wanted to talk about the issue with
this truck, and I think youguys know where I'm going with it.
Right when she started talking about hertruck, changing the appearance and all that,
(47:23):
and then she said, it's happeningto her sons. She at least
she admitted that to me, right, because maybe she knew where I was
going. Maybe she didn't. Thenshe said, weird things with things missing
from our house. Now you know, I've done enough study. I don't
know why, but I guess allmy years on the air of talking with
(47:43):
people, I've done my good shareof talking to people where I kind of
I can identify certain anomalies. Oneof them is paranoid schizophrenia or a depression
that causes a trust. But itall centers around a paranoia. And those
(48:05):
who have listened to me for many, many years knows this. I mean,
we could have in a way.No one wants to make fun of
somebody like this, right, Someof the stories get very, very wild.
Over the years, I've sent Markout on stories where and by the
way Mark and Suzanne are working today, we are we have many businesses,
and I just need to tell peoplethat, so they wonder where they are.
(48:27):
They think they're always on vacation andbut anyway, so Mark has gone
out on a number of these andinevitably he'll come back and say it's one
of those, and then we nodit's someone who is suffering from some kind
of mental illness. Now that doesn'tmean that the companies they deal with are
(48:50):
one hundred percent perfect. But manytimes, when problems start going wrong,
or when excuse me, when problemshappen and things go wrong, what happens
is people start piecing that together andthen imagining even more, and they take
it personally. So there are allkinds of people we come against that this
(49:15):
happens to. And the reason Imention this, you could end up chasing
your tail if this ever happens toone of your loved ones. And here's
the most phenomenal thing in the worldabout these people. They can convince people,
(49:37):
I swear to God, they canconvince them that they are one hundred
percent on track. I know awoman, she's perfect in every way except
had an illusion, or I callit an illusion, that someone came in.
(49:58):
This is just one of many examplesI have over the years and selectively
took a few items from a jewelrybox, not all her jewelry, not
her money, not her artwork, not her cash, nothing else, nothing,
just selectively took a few items outof a jewelry box. And they
did it over a period of time. So they'd come in one night and
(50:20):
take one thing, come in thenext night, take something else to come
in the next night. Now,when you try to reason with people and
say well, why would they dothat, they always have reasoning. Well,
they don't want to be caught. They thought they would do this,
and we know this. We knowa real thief is going to come in
and take out a big sack, maybe have that mask on like we see
in the cartoons, and they're goingto just start heaping things into a bag
(50:44):
and leaving. And they and shesaid, well, he wouldn't do that
because it'd wake me up. Soyou're saying, he comes in when you're
asleep, takes all that time andeffort to come in when you're asleep,
even though you leave the house muchof the time, but he waits until
you asleep, comes in while you'reasleep, and then takes things selectively instead
(51:04):
of once he gets in there andhe doesn't wake you up, why not
just use that opportunity to take everythingbecause you're sleeping. Why take a chance
that he can do that three orfour nights in a row, Now you
would think that normally this people wouldjust discount this and say she either misplaced
it or whatever, or she's imaginingit whatever. But you would be shocked
(51:28):
at how many people this person gotto believe her. You'd be shocked saying,
well, I think this did it. I think the neighbor did.
I think that that so and sodid it. I think there's somebody or
a landscape or whatever. Now that'sjust one example. We have had so
many people over the years, andI'll tell you why. Because they're listening
(51:51):
to the show and they figure,oh, this guy, this guy cares
about people. He's gonna help,he's gonna kick some ass, he's gonna
find out who's really doing this.I'm gonna show everyone and you know,
this is really what's happening. Andthey call me. I'm neutral to them.
I'm not dangerous. I don't thinkthey're crazy. I don't think you
know, I'm not their relative.I'm not and especially I'm not taking part
(52:14):
in it, according to them.So that's what happens. Now, Julia,
what's going on? Hi? JuliaSupers in the self checkout. Yeah,
I was done checking out and thenit told me I needed a service.
(52:35):
So I'm thinking, Okay, Ididn't do anything. But the gal
comes over and what happens is theyhave a new camera setup now, and
my purse was wide open, sittingin my basket, and the camera showed
a picture of it on the screen, the checkout screen for everybody to see
what's in my purse, and shehad to come over and look in it
(52:58):
and make sure that it was agoods or something. And I'm thinking that's
kind of wrong, you know what, though in a way I know exactly
what you're saying. In another way, I feel so badly for these stores.
I mean, there is so muchthievery and shoplifting going on. So
(53:21):
this camera is trained in such away that it's looking just for purses or
do you think it's just trained onthe cart? No, I think it's
trained on the cart. In Mypurse happen to be there wide open because
I had taken my walla. Butyou know, I have a concealed carry.
If I had my gun in thereor something, what are they going
to do if somebody monitoring that,or they would have called police, probably
(53:44):
thinking you're a weirdo. I cansee both sides of that, but I
just want people to know that that'sa new system in my king supers.
Now, so listen, let meask you something. That your purse was
wide open. They could see thatyou didn't put anything in it. Why
did they have to look at yourpurse? Oh no, they had to
look at it on the screen whereyou check out. But she didn't go
(54:07):
through your purse, did she No, she did not go through. That
would be an illegal search. Yeah, okay, good, Oh good,
she said, Oh, it's justyour purse. She said, it's a
new camera system we have and itlooks oh I see. So so it
triggered them to look further because theysaw an open purse. Well, they
saw something in the cart. Yeah, and they don't want let me get
(54:29):
this straight, Julie, because Idon't understand, they don't want to see
anything in the cart until after you'redone. Yeah, once you check out.
If there's still something in your cart, no matter what it is,
oh I get it after you checkout. They want to make sure.
Okay, all right, getting this? Well, who knows what kind of
algorithms they have right now. Imean that's kind of weird, but yeah,
(54:52):
it's just something for people to know. If you have something like that
in your purse you know your canstill carry or something you know you such
a purser or don't take it in. Let me ask you something. You
have a concealed carry, right,I do? I do? How long
have you had it? Uh?Four years? And I'm just curious more
(55:13):
than anything when I talk to peopleevery day, what was the reason you
got it? You know, becauseI'm getting older and I take mine in
the carnal if I go out oftown. I don't carry it around town.
It's only for if I go outof town because I go by myself
a lot. Yeah, so's andyou know the way I understand it.
(55:34):
And I don't mean you probably tookthe classes, but I heard that even
with a concealed carry, there arecertain places you're not allowed to take the
gun, right if they have apolicy against it, Like you can't go
into a school with a concealed carryright, No federal building, no banks,
yes okay, so yeah, sookay? And schools, federal buildings,
(55:58):
banks. What about if a storeor a private company says no firearms,
then you don't take it in andit'll be posted on the door somewhere
before you go in the facility andyou honor all of those requests. Yes,
okay, I was always curious aboutthat. What if you go to
another state, Well, Wyoming's prettywide open. I know in Alaska they're
(56:28):
wide open too. But if youshould pass a policeman you know, or
whatever, you signal to them thatyou've got a gun in your in your
on your person. It's mandatory. So if you walk, wait, wait,
if you if you come across alaw enforcement or just see one,
if you well, no, wewalked into a store. My brother had
(56:52):
his consiled carry on and a sheriffwalked by and he pointed to him and
then pointed to his gun. Sothe guy knew he had a concealed carry
because up in Alaska, lots oftimes private people have to help them out
because it's such a wide open area, you know, for them to cover.
Wow. Okay, thank you Juliafor all that information. Deputy Chopper.
(57:14):
Were you going to say states thatborder Colorado will maybe honor Colorado's CCW
and that's about as good as itgets. Did you keep your CCW?
I have a federal retired one.Yes, So is that different when you're
a cop. Yeah, it's goodin all the States. New York may
(57:38):
give you some trouble with it,but it's legal. You can't travel with
it, like on a plane, obviously if you go through the procedures.
Yes, you can not on theplane. You could put in your luggage.
Okay, Okay, So what aboutregular police officers? Obviously, when
they're on duty, transporting or doingsomething. Are they allowed to bring firearms
(58:02):
on a plane if they're going tomaybe transport a prisoner? Yes, But
otherwise Noah has to go in theluggage. Okay. Thanks? Three oh

Paula Waterman's with us. Don't forgetthat, and we got a lot
to talk about with that. AndI want to talk to Mike now about
concealed Carrie. Question he has.Maybe Chopper can answer that ex cop or
former cop. Go ahead, Mike, Hi, Tom, I wanted to
give you some better information about concealedCarrie. Oh, okay, go ahead.
Go to a website called Usconcealedcarry dotCom. It will show you a
(59:32):
map called the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Mapand gun lows and basically a Colorado permit
is good for probably four fists ofthe United States, except for the West
coast Minnesota, Illinois, New York, and the states around New York.
(59:54):
Okay. And as far as abusiness having a sign up you know,
no weapons, I ignore those becauseif I'm caught with my weapon in their
business, it's nothing more than atrespass ticket saying don't come back here,
(01:00:16):
okay, and my right to selfdefense trumps their sign Tom. Okay,
so how long have you been carrying? Eight years? Okay? You know
(01:00:36):
what was what precipitated it? Foryou. I used to work at public
safety and as a public servant withouta weapon on duty, I have taken
so many illegal firearms off of convictedfelons that it taught me to go get
(01:01:02):
my permit. You know what alwaysfascinated me is where they advertise this is
a no gun zone or gun freezone, as if they as if they
feel that's going to make them safe. I've always been fascinated by that,
Like, even if it is gunfree, don't you when you announce that,
(01:01:23):
you're saying to a criminal, comeand get us exactly? I mean.
I've often found it for someone togo through the trouble and time to
legally possess a firearm and carry it, they would, in my opinion,
be the least problem and the biggest. It's not all the people with concealed
(01:01:45):
carries walking in and out of buildingsthat you have to worry about. It's
all the people that are breaking laws, and I often found it fascinating.
In fact, I also found itfascinating that the crime rate, the true
crime rates among those who legally possessa firearm, are next to nothing.
(01:02:12):
And despite all the hype about oh, just call the police, the situation
is going to be over by thetime you get off the phone with their
dispatcher. The always I think thatguy with the gun is a good guy
with a gun period. Now Nowi think to the defense of people who
are upset or don't want concealed carries, I'm thinking, here's what I'm thinking,
(01:02:37):
that perhaps they feel they will bemisused in time of crisis or instead
of just you know, walking away. Who knows. I'm just I'm saying
the stats don't show that, butI'm positive that's probably why they feel they're
bad things to have. But Idon't want to you know, it's it's
a tough discussion to get into. It's really tough to get into because there
(01:03:00):
are so many people who just believethat, you know, no guns,
no guns, no guns, andadvertise no guns and we'll all be safer
for it. And I'm not.You know, I know that there are
nuts out there, but I havenever understood why everyone is a nut or
(01:03:21):
everyone you know, why do weassume that even the criminals are going to
follow any of the laws. It'sthis flies in the face of logic to
me. Tom Anyway, question forMike, I don't know if he's still
on there. Yes, Mike, would you agree if you are carrying a
(01:03:43):
concealed weapon properly, then no onewill know if you're violating that store sign
or anything. Absolutely. I carrya subcompact ten round semi automatic and nobody
knows it's there. I didn't havemy hand in the pocket of my zippered
(01:04:03):
hoodie and be able to shoot throughthat pocket and take care of a situation.
Well, I hope you never hadto. No, not yet.
Okay, And let me ask yousomething. Having that does it make you
want to does it give you anitchy finger? I mean, this is
(01:04:25):
what people think. This is whattheir fear is. Yeah. No,
I'll tell you what, Tom,It's the exact opposite. But you do
know that's what people think, right, Oh, absolutely, because they're uninformed
and they're the ones that are goingto be the victims because they don't have
enough courage to carry and information andeducation to carry. I hope I never
(01:04:55):
have to pull this weapon because I'mgoing to spend the rest of the day
with the cops, fill it outreports, and if I do have to
use it. There's both the criminalside of the situation and the civil side
of the situation because somebody in thefamily's probably going to come after me or
(01:05:16):
hurting or killing little baby Bob thatnever did anything wrong. By the way,
how does insurance work on that?I mean, I wonder how your
liability or homeowners or anything. Dothey ask about concealed carries? No,
they don't, But that's an importantpoint that I want to bring up.
There are several niche insurance companies outthere where you can buy insurance or concealed

three oh three, set three eighttwo five five. This is the
Consumer Show where we solve problems, answer questions, take complaints, and make
your life a little easier. Andwe do it with just about anything we
can talk about, not just dollarsand cents, but sometimes just common sense,
even neighbor versus neighbor, trouble atwork, career, whatever it is.
(01:10:44):
We've been discussing problems for forty fiveyears in Denver and more than that
elsewhere, and what we do islook for a solution. We really do,
no matter what the problem. Rightnow, I want to welcome Paul
the Waterman, and that's waterpros dotnet. We were talking about water,
(01:11:05):
and the reason I'm a big bugabooabout water is because it's the number one
nutrient in our body and then food. We live longer without food than we
will without water, and water isessential. Also, water can be destructive
because of what it carries, andthere's no way with the way we're living
(01:11:27):
right now. Whether you're into ecologyor not, we all know that there
are pollutants in air and water, and we adapt to them to a certain
extent. But nanoplastics now are beingfound in everything, along with forever chemicals
and pharmaceuticals. So those are thethree big things, right We're talking about
(01:11:53):
forever chemicals pfas nanoplastics, and youhave basically pharmaceuticals. Those are nasty,
so you need different systems to filterout different things. But you can get
them all at the kitchen sink reallyinexpensively for drinking water. But I want
(01:12:15):
to know this, if you hadto pick one of those, Okay,
there's a fourth thing, hardness,But correct me if I'm wrong, Paul.
The hardness part of water doesn't isn'ta health concern. It's mainly a
plumbing concern, a skin concern, you know, like skin feeling and health,
and maybe clothing laundry. What doyou think the hardness part is the
least dangerous is what I'm thinking. It's fullyast dangerous. But were you aware
(01:12:40):
that hard water causes kidney stones andgallstones? Wow? By drinking it?
By drinking it? Yeah, becauseit's an inorganic that our body doesn't absorb.
We had a family friend flush itthough, well it flushes through,
but it can build up in ourbody. We had a family friend that
has calcium build up around her heartvalve, and the doctor on hard water.
I had a grandfather that had kidneystones all the time and he had
(01:13:03):
to drink distilled water. This isback in the seventies, before the reverse
house most of the technology occur.I never thought of that. Okay,
so hard water as far as theaccumulation, but the actual chemical makeup of
hard water in and of itself,it's not It's calcium carbonate, right.
Our body just doesn't absorb it.It's an organic mineral that our body does
not absorb. And that's the bigmisconception. People think we got to leave
(01:13:25):
the healthy minerals and water. Well, there's no minerals in water that is
beneficial to our body. Okay,So then next would be the forever chemicals.
Those that's the biggest one, anda lot of people believe that's why
we have so much cancer in thisWell, there's a community in Texas,
you know, waste waste treatment plantstake the sewage, they sell it,
and companies make fertilizer out of it. There's a community in Texas where that
(01:13:48):
fertilizer contaminated or rancher's farm and it'sspread to others. And so those ferber
chemicals ruined. You know, there'sfish pond and you know they say affected
livestock. Now, forever chemicals arecause of many problems. What about the
plastics themselves, What did they actuallydo? Microplastics a lot of fish to
(01:14:10):
stake that for food. They cancarry carcinogens, they can carry disease,
they can carry bacteria. Plastics don'tbreak down and last year University, well
they break down, they don't dissolve. Well, they don't disappear. That's
what I meant, right right, right, thank you. So they get
smaller and smaller and small smaller.Yeah, and so they they're in our
environment and then it gets in theirpenetrators. Sell you know, Doc pointed
(01:14:32):
out, you know last time,I think he found the article where they
found it in the arteries, youknow, the heart, and they found
it it's in the placenta. AndI've got you know, research where you
know they can get into, youknow, our cellular structure. Now,
not all water contains all things, well some of them do. But what
I mean is you can get afree water test. So what do you
test for? So we tests forhardness, the basic rightness, right,
(01:14:55):
we total chlorine. Chlorine content isanother one time that it's in the hot
water. I know they're trying tohelp us. Well, it's it's it's
a disinfectant to kill the bacteria andviruses. But it's it's not it's not
healthy, and it's it's in thesteam when we take a shower too.
How do you stand on fluoride?Florid is is natural in the water and
(01:15:17):
so natural natural florid. We havenatural fluoride in Colorado of water? What
yeah, absolutely natural natural? Yeah, it's it's it's a metal. It's
in the mountains and come on,honest, the goodness it is. What
about bottle water, Well, it'sbottle water, the Independent Bottle Water Association.
Right, they made me mad.Remember that nanoplastics were found a bottle
(01:15:40):
of water. So instead of thebottle water industry pledging to do better in
the filtration method, what they is. What they said is it's unproven science.
Drink more water. So it's hardto trust anything today, all right,
So uh, let's go to Candynow another will change shop it if
that's waterpros dot net three or threeA six two five five five four a

(01:16:04):
What's happening with Child Protective Services?Candy? Hi? Yes, I am
an active listener and I just wantto say thank you. I like the
show a lot. Thank you,And I understand I don't have necessarily a
consumer concern, but I am handlinghandle a lot of things. What's going
on with Child Protective Services? I? I feel like they are failing to
(01:16:31):
protect my son there? What happened? Failing in what way? What do
you mean by failing to protect yourson? Where is your son? He's
with me now? And what happenedwas in August his dad made a false
sexual allegation. This is the fourthone again someone in my family. Okay,
(01:16:56):
So let me get this strange. You're obviously not married to the biology
dad. Correct, you're divorced. We're not divorced. We were never married.
Okay. God. Now as aresult of that, you split custody
essentially, yes, okay, Sookay, And here's what I want to
(01:17:19):
know. So obviously, on thesurface, it looks like he's trying to
make things rough for you. Sohe gets full custody, correct, Okay,
Okay, So what is going on? What kind of accusations did he
make? I'm recently been with myfiance for a year, and he told
(01:17:43):
my son to lie to the policeand in a forensic interview as well,
that my fiance sexually abused Angelo,my son. So a false report was
okay, Here's what I want toknow. Was he arrested? Was he
(01:18:04):
investigated? That's the problem they aregiving the detective on the case that I
you know, there was a firstdetective. Now she retired, so it's
handed off to a new detective.I told him I have a video.
Angelo has come forth with we alwaysknew the truth, but we never we
(01:18:26):
were told not to hold on,just get to the part. We're not
going to try the case here. Here's what I want to know. He
was accused by the son. Butyou're saying the father urged him to do
it. What was the result ofthe investigation. So they came, they
took my son. Actually he wasreally close and getting what he wanted.
(01:18:47):
They did take my son. Itold them, missus domestic abuse. I
can prove it. I will.Josh has his own place, he can
go to his place. You don'tneed to take my son. This is
exactly what he wants. They didn'tlisten, and they took him. I
ended up getting. In order forthem to take your son. Mm hmm,
(01:19:10):
they have to have at least aninkling that something is going wrong.
It was a forensic interview where myson was coached to say that. Well,
you're saying he was coached. You'resaying he was coached. How do
you know he was coached because hejust recently had another forensic interview a couple
(01:19:30):
of weeks ago where he recanted andsaid I was told to say this from
my dad because he doesn't like mom'sfiance. Okay, so your son finally
admitted. I said that, yes, so they dropped all charges. Is
that right? There was never acharge because we complied completely, and they
(01:19:53):
they tried to say intimidate and saywell we could charge you and to my
fiance and he said, I cando a lit detector whatever you need me
to do. But what am Ibeing charged for? So where does it
stand today? Today? The caseis active and open and why would it
be active and open if the sonadmitted to being set up by the dad
(01:20:15):
because he's the detective said specifically,I'm not sure if we're going to close
it and find it as unfounded orjust leave it again and it's unfounded.
Okay, Candy, Candy, youmentioned you started out saying Child Protective Services
is not protecting your son, andit sounds to me like they're bending over
backwards to check out whether this istrue or not. What what? I
(01:20:39):
don't think there's a problem. Whatthis was me that was doing everything.
Child Protective Services made it worse. They took my son and did exactly what.
Okay, where did they take yourWhere did they place your son?
They gave me they gave them tohis dad. Okay, and you understand
(01:21:00):
why, right? Essentially, Ido understand, but I had proof that
this was the fourth false allegation.Well, that's what a hearing is for.
But there's no hearing. There's Imean hearing in regards to parenting and
(01:21:21):
things. Well, no, no, I'm talking about pleas charge. Where
is it going to go? Howlong do they keep this open? Right?
Well, this is what the detectivetold me. Historically, I don't
usually see the other party getting chargedfor a false report. I just don't.
It just normally doesn't work out thatway. Right, that's right,
(01:21:42):
because here's why. Here's why.Because they want to encourage people to report
if they think something's wrong. Now, if someone maliciously files a false report,
that's different. But they're not goingto go that far. Yes,
the dad's going to get the dad. I'll be convinced them that he had
true concern. I'm not agreeing withit. I'm just saying that this is
(01:22:09):
unfortunate that this happens. But wehave situations where it's done. It's a
false report, but they don't reallyknow it's false. They just think it's
real. I mean, where arewe going with this whole discussion? You're
upset because they followed procedure. Andinvestigated and took him out of your home.
Now, are you saying that yourhome, your your son was actually
(01:22:31):
in danger with the other guy?No, no, this is a this
is Are you saying, though yousaid, they did the opposite of protecting
your son, they took your sonout of your home and put it in
his home. Are you saying thatthe biological dad's home is dangerous? Correct?
(01:22:57):
I do? Because why is itdangerous? When Angelo, the one
of the reports made, DHS investigatedus both and Angelo made a concern to
DHS saying his grandma hits him,his grandma is mean to him, she
drinks, she does drugs, okay, But they didn't sing to hold that.
So you feel that why would theyfavor the biological dad. I don't
(01:23:24):
think they're favoring I just don't.I think what they're doing, well,
it is that they see sexual allegation, but they don't see this is the
fourth time it's never been founded. And every time we investigate, the son
has more concern on the father's side. But then why is nothing Why am
I not getting hurt? Why ishe not being also held accountable to?
(01:23:47):
You know, your son said thesethings, so you know where's what are
you going to do about that?It kind of seems to be okay,
well, we didn't find a bruiseon the child, so we'll just leave
it at that. There's nothing. There's nothing stating that he actually did.
Did they talk to your son aboutthe grandma beating him? Yes, they
(01:24:09):
did alone. I had to leavethe room and I had and they did
not find it. They did notfind it. What credible? Correct?
Because he didn't have a bruise orany any markings of getting hit. Do
you believe that these people at socialservices would purposely overlook physical abuse if they
(01:24:31):
thought it was going on. Idon't know, honestly, I just I
don't know. Andy. Do youfeel do you feel that these investigators at
social services or child protective services wouldpurposely overlook the idea that your son is
(01:24:53):
being abused by his grandmother just tofavor the dad over you? No?
No, then why can't you acceptthat they're doing the best job they can
because I don't think they truly havedone that. Have you asked for an
independent child family investigator? That willbe something I do consider. But what
(01:25:19):
if my son was told to sayvery nasty things, specific sexual things?
Done to him and they don't findthat somehow child abuse. That No,
it would be it would be howold is your son? He's eight years
old? And your son told theinvestigators that he was coached as to what
(01:25:43):
to say. No, no,he never said that he was he was
told to say what his dad toldhim to say. When you're what I'm
asking you this did your son?If we talk to your son right now,
would he say Dad told me tosay these things to get the guy
in trouble? It? Yes,And that's what he did with the second
(01:26:05):
interview, because in the second interview, what did they do as a result
of that? He said, he'stalking to the DA But majority of the
time, nothing will really be done, but the fact that it'll get closed
and it was it was unfounded becauseit was a false report, and that's
(01:26:26):
what should happen. It should beclosed. And now what you need to
do is seek or that actually theother guy. He needs to seek civil
damages privately against the biological dad. That's the way it works. The authorities
are not going to do that. They're not going to get involved like that.
The only reason they stepped in isfor the safety of the child.
(01:26:49):
Now, if it goes beyond thatand they feel like, well, the
dad coached him. They don't lookat that as being unsafe. They look
at it as being a squabble. It's not the same as if somebody is
abusing your child physically. So Iknow it doesn't sound right to you and
you feel they should go after thisdad. They're not going to. They're
(01:27:13):
not going to. I mean Icould lie to you and say they should
and they will, but they won't. So if you want the truth,
Candy, they're never going to goafter him because they're not sure if he
was coached or not. They're notsure if you coach the kid or if
he coached the kid. All they'resure about now is possibly there was no
sexual abuse. So it will beclosed as unfounded. And here's the rub,
(01:27:36):
if it happens again, they willinvestigate it again. They do not
look at the past accusations and say, well, three of them were false,
we're not going to investigate the fourthone or four of them were false,
and we're not going to investigate thefifth one. That is the problem,
but that is reality. They donot discount those kinds of avcuuations.
(01:28:00):

all the steps that I need totake. She didn't have any property.
(01:29:27):
She does have a car which isbroken down, not worth much, but
it is titled in her name. And she does have about twenty one thousand
dollars in the bank. And I'mnot sure if I have to go through.
Are you, first of all,are you her only relative? No,
I've got my mother and father. They're they're elderly, they're ninety and
(01:29:53):
eighty seven. And did she havea will or any kind of any kind
of stuff at all. Well, then you don't make the choice. Well,
but yeah, that's that's what I'mtrying to find out. Yeah,
you don't make the choice. Thechoice is made for you so by the
(01:30:14):
state by state law. So nowyou don't have to open probate because you
don't have enough to open probate. So if she has a lot of bills
that are going to outnumber the assets, you may just want to walk away
from it all. But you've notthat much, probably two thousand in bills,
(01:30:40):
okay, And and that's it.And I know my parents could use
this money as a week to payfor her her funeral and that kind of
thing. Okay, Well, herparents are going to be first in line
anyway, right, And I havepoa for them. I have a medical
(01:31:01):
and so you do a small stateaffidavit and be done with it. The
smallest state affidavit. Yes, right, in the small state. Do that.
You download the form and fill itout or call an attorney. And
really, I mean, I meanthat sincerely. That's all you have to
do. You need a death certificate? Did you get that? Uh?
(01:31:23):
She just passed yesterday, So,oh my god, I'm so sorry.
What happened? Thanks? Well, she had an a chronic condition and she
finally finally succumbed to it. Man, did you guys? So you guys
never talked about that? Well,it kind of she had cirrhosis and okay,
(01:31:46):
it was frinny, but then shehad an episode. It went very
quickly before she passed, so itwasn't really lucid when she was in the
hospital. So we could talk aboutthings like this, I get it.
Ses she have a drinking problem?Yeah, it was okay, So listen
(01:32:06):
carefully, right, you look upin Colorado the intestacy law. Okay,
what's it called in testacy and intest go I N T E S T
in test a c A c Yin TESTACYE laws. Okay, okay.
(01:32:30):
Now, according to in general,in testacy laws, when someone dies without
a will, everything goes to theirspouse or parents. First the spouse,
then the parents. Okay, children, okay, so the parents. That's
(01:32:51):
it done. You stop right there. If in fact she did not have
a spouse or parents, goes toher children, and then so on and
so forth. But basically you don'thave to worry about that right now,
it goes to her parents. Okay, But I how do I but I
(01:33:15):
have to get it vowing right oror do they automatically do that? Nothing
is automatic? Nothing? Okay,I didn't think so, So what you
do is you get a small estateaffidavit okay, and you fill it out
your first no, first a deathcertificates okay, and then and then fill
(01:33:41):
that out okay. Well, thenwhen you fill it out with the death
certificate, the parents are going tobe the ones that inherit everything because of
no no will. Now, youcould always call Dad Mackenzie at Mackenzie Law
and just ask a question. Imean, he's gonna he'll answer a question
without you having to hire him.You can't just keep calling him back and

doing that. But he's a greatguy and he has a small law firm
and he would talk to So heretake this number down too. Eight three

because hey, here's what we do. Let's get him on. Because what
(01:34:28):
you have to do is again asmall estate AFFI David, and basically that's
in place of probate. Okay. Then you appoint a personal representative or the
court will and you can be thepersonal representative. You can do it,
anybody can. And then then allyou do is distribute the assets. But
(01:34:51):
after you pay debts, but you'llbe in charge of that. So first
start with the small all the stateaffidavit and look it over and the death

on their side that I have boosts, but on my side it wasn't showing
it. But then they did alittle more investigating the customer service and they
came back and they said, youraccount with King Supers has been blocked.
(01:39:31):
You can no longer do either onlinedelivery or okay. Why was your account
blocked? Gary? There's a couplereasons why they're saying. One is they're
saying that I had some kind ofa dispute in March. But I've never
disputed any charges. I checked mycredit card. They said that my bank
(01:39:56):
disputed a charge or my credit card. I called my credit card because I
didn't. So wait a minute. So even your account was supposedly locked,
but you were able to log in. I can log in. It won't
let but it won't let me orderanything. You know, I can pick
all the product, all the thingsand everything, but then when I go
to uh check out so to speak, okay, gives me this error code
(01:40:21):
and there's no way they can fixit. Well, they're they're they're looking
into it or whatever. But theytold me the other reason why. But
they've they've now told me they're they'reescalating it to I get it. What's
the other reason they gave you?Because they're saying I had too many refunds?
(01:40:41):
Now they they give you this optionof requesting a refund, like if
you're missing items, and that's probablywhat it is. Did you have a
lot of refunds. I've had afew few refunds, but it's been you
know. They did send me anemail saying that we've noticed you've had severally

oh seven one three eight two fivefive. So one thing I do want
to mention Gary. The Boost programand any program that stores or places offer,
including banks and all kinds of places. They're all privileges, they're not
rights, and unfortunately there are somethat have glitches in them, and you're
(01:42:25):
not the only one. I lookedit up and there was a program I
could not take part in one time. It had nothing to do with King
Soupers, but it was something elseand I absolutely positively could not take part
in it because it never ever everworked on my phone, And they threw
(01:42:45):
up their hands and said, well, we're sorry, we can't offer that.
So it might come down to thisthat if you disagree with them on
the amount of returns and they simplytheir algorithm locked you out. The sad
fact is, because I'm a realbig believer in just telling it like it
is rather than giving false hope, there's a possibility you just can't do the
(01:43:10):
program. Something that they're telling methat my returns or that I don't like
products. Basically in one of thein the email they sent me in tell
me what returns? Why did youhave your returns? And by the way,
you can't go by what they sayto you. They're looking for an
(01:43:30):
answer to make go away. They'relooking for an answer to justify what the
program is doing. They're not lookingfor a solution because they're not King Super's
people. They're the technology people. You're making the mistake of thinking it's the
food store doing this. If youhold on, we'll come back to you.

whether it's storm damage or you justwant to do home improvements. And they're
stucco experts as well. Genesistotalexteriors dotCom. Welcome to the show. I
want to go right to the phones. People who've been waiting. It's been
very busy. Gary had an issuewith King Soopers. I looked it up.
(01:45:21):
Many people are having the same issue. By the way, I don't
know how to put this, butfor some reason it happens. And I
think it has to do with algorithms. That's a word we don't really understand.
But here's what an algorithm is.It analyzes data and then acts accordingly.
That's really what an algorithm does.It traces, analyzes, and reacts.
(01:45:45):
Sometimes it doesn't react, it justwell it does. It's like the
thing that sends you certain posts onFacebook, or certain Instagram people, or
certain TikTok videos. Anyway, thisalgorithm looks at accounts and by the way,
what they do is turn you offthat they think there's either fraud,
(01:46:05):
nonpayment or too many returns. Nowbanks do it too when it comes to
fraudulent activity on accounts. And here'swhat we have found. People don't and
Gary, this is the big disconnect. And again this may not help you
directly, but it certainly will helpyou understand. When we have technology on
(01:46:26):
one end and the provider on theother, we often think we're talking to
the provider when we are not.The provider uses the technology to do the
providing. If you are in theirBoost program. King Soopers would love nothing
more then to keep selling you stuffthrough Boost. But once the boost technology
(01:46:48):
part of it discerns that there istoo many this or too many that,
or just makes up a decision thathas nothing to do with reality. It
has to do with a blind algorithm. For example, you might say,
well, I didn't return stuff becauseI wasn't happy. I returned it because
(01:47:08):
I didn't get it, or Ireturned it for this reason, or I
didn't have this many returns I hadthis many. You're talking to people who
don't care. You're talking to peoplewho can't even change what King Supers does
because it's not King Supers, it'sthe technology, whereas King Supers is a
whole different ballgame. Now, whatyou really need is someone at Kingsupers who
(01:47:30):
would care enough to actually interface withthe technology and undo the screw up.
This happens often at a bank.If you can't log in, the log
in people say, well, youknow, your user name was hacked,
and you have to go to thebank and say, look, do you
want me to be a customer ornot, and they have to talk to
each other. So we get theseproblems all the time, and it's about
(01:47:56):
time I explain it to people sothey don't feel like we're still walling.
But Gary, here's the real factor the real situation, real life situation.
If you can't get the algorithm peopleor the technology people to communicate with
the King Super's people, they're notgoing to coordinate to solve this problem for
(01:48:16):
you. You may have to opena new account. I actually tried that
and it won't It must know itno what it knows Gary. What it
knows Gary, is your email oryour phone number. Unfortunately I had to
do this before too. You haveto open up a new account and maybe
(01:48:39):
not use the exact name, useyour initial. I know it's a pain
in the ass, but you calledfor an answer, and that's your quickest
route to get solved. Use anotheremail, even if you have to go
establish a Gmail address and do avariation of your name, and you should
be able to the people on Customersof Us. They seem to be trying
(01:49:01):
to help, but I'm never gettingany calls back because they don't know how
to help. Do you want Doyou understand that King Soupers has no idea
what algorithms are instituted by the technologycompany. Sure, when they signed up
for this program, they were interviewedabout what do you want this program to
do? And well, we don'twant people with a lot of returns,
(01:49:25):
and we don't want people that dothis, and if somebody disputes too many
charges, we don't want them andthey automatically lock you out. They don't
think, well, Gary had agood reason for this one. Let's keep
them on. It's not that personal. You're nobody to them. So when
you talk to customer service, theydon't know what the truth is. They
(01:49:46):
don't know what to do. Imean, it sounds silly to talk about
stuff like this, but hey, they don't frustrating. Have you more than
frustrating? Have you thought about openinga new account? Did you try to
use your same email? No,I use a different email. I change
(01:50:09):
I changed my name a little bit, just because well, then there's no
reason you shouldn't be able to openan account. So why couldn't you open
an account? They might be goingoff with a service address there, Tom,
I don't know if they care aboutthe address dragon, because people change
addresses. They don't black. Idon't think they black all an address going
off with the IP address, Well, change your EP I guess I could.
(01:50:35):
I mean their dynamic you can changeit. I mean you might be
stuck on one. But unless youneed a static IP, just change it.
Looks and Gary, I hate tolook at what can I tell you
we're not going to be We're not. If we call King Supers, they're
going to tell us the same thingthey told you. They don't but they
(01:50:55):
don't know what to do. Theydon't talk to their technology people as a
as a food service company that wantsto retain a customer. So, by
the way, how many returns haveyou had? I'm just curious. I
mean I don't know how. Idon't know how many I've had. I'd
have to sit and can well, then you must have had a few.
(01:51:17):
I've had a few, but it'sall been either missing items or they didn't
get the see see Gary's trying tojustify to an algorithm. They've made a
lot. There's been a lot ofmistakes. I mean, like I said,
that's right, God said, butthere's a lot of mistakes. And
can I ask you something? Whydo you care about that? I mean,
(01:51:40):
I just go on when I needstuff. Why do you have to
be part of this yearly annual subscription. I normally I would be going into
the store because I had this stroke. I don't mean going into the store.
Gary, I understand you had astroke. What I'm talking about is
why don't you simply go on andhave it delivered when you need it.
(01:52:02):
There's no subscription, nothing needed. You go to, you log in,
you buy your stuff, and youcheck the problem. They won't even let
me. They won't even let medo grocery pickup now without you, So
they they've pretty much turned off theBoost, but they want to. They
told me the only way I canshop at Supers now is to physically go
into a store. Okay, theydon't want you as a I can't.
(01:52:25):
I can't use either the grocery pickupor the And it really is kind of
not even because I was using thegrocery pickup before I sign up for Boost.
But it was such a hassle. We'd get in and out of the
car and everything. I thought,Well, the Boost, you don't have
to do pickup. Do you understand? Let me let me explain this.
Do you understand there's an alternative betweenpicking up and Boost? Did you know
(01:52:48):
that? Sure? Yeah? Andyou know what that is, that's going
online and ordering groceries to be deliveredrandom, nilly willy willy nilly. You
don't have to have boost is soI'm not sure they may block you out
of that too. In other words, if you just log, your boost
is gone. But if you justopen an account and go on and have
(01:53:10):
how often do you have deliveries?Once a week? Okay, I see
where that so? So I payabout nine bucks for delivery, and if
you did that every week, Icould see where that could be a painted.
That's why you did the subscription thing? Yeah, well, and had
started off bad too, because theywere offering half off on the subscription at
Christmas time, and then when theycharged my card, they charged me for
(01:53:34):
the Pulse full price, so Ihad to and they never did credit my
account for you know, it wassupposed to be twenty nine ninety five,
not fifty nine ninety And what didyou do about that? Did you keep
the fifty nine or did you getit for half price? I tried to
get it credited, and they toldme they were credited, they were going
to credit it, but they neverdid. Okay, how did you try
(01:53:56):
to get it credited? I calledthe customer service and said, hey,
you know, I just looked atmy credit card statement. You've charged me
the full price and I had adigital coupon for a half price. But
they didn't know anything about They werelike, they might have listed that as
a contesting a charge as well.Probably. Yeah, yeah, I'm telling
(01:54:19):
you credit my account for it.It doesn't matter you made the inquiry.
You're a pain in the ass,is what they're gary. I'm kidding.
But do me a favor. Well, yeah, go and sign up for
an account. I can't believe youcan't sign up for a new account.
I refuse if you use a totallynew email and a totally new you know,
they don't even ask for a phonenumber, do they. If they
(01:54:42):

All right, Dan Mackenzie, Iwant to take our estate planning expert attorney
and Miles has a very simple question. Dan, And even though we've gone
over in the past, I wantedto make sure he gets the right information.
His sister died yesterday, literally yesterday. She has very little estate,
(01:55:49):
okay, basically a couple grand indebts. She has about twenty something in
the bank and nothing to speak of, a broken down car, no real
estate. He wants to know there'sno will either. His parents are still
alive. What I told him ishis parents will automatically get everything with no
(01:56:11):
will, and that he can goget a death certificate and a small and
fill out a small estate affidavit. What am I missing? That is correct?
To get the death certificate, He'sprobably going to need to show some
proof of shared parents with the withthe deceased sister, So sometimes it's a
little bit easier than others. Theyreally lock those down unfortunately. So what
(01:56:34):
does that mean? What do youmean, show what some sort of evidence
that he and his sister had thesame parents. Oh, okay, there
brother and sister, right, Sookay, siblings are entitled the death certificates.
That might be the hardest part ofthis whole thing, but they are
entitled the desert. But they needto provide some proof that they really are
brother and sister. So there isan application to apply to get a death
(01:56:57):
certificate. It explains what he wouldneed to do that. Then the smallest
state affidavit. Can he do thaton behalf of his parents and get everything
for them? Yeah, there's twodifferent form There's two different tables on a
small state affidavit. One is likelisting the person who is coming around to
get the stuff, and then theother is listing the people who are entitled
to receive it. So it wouldhave him on one and then them on
(01:57:19):
the other. But you are correctthat under the affidavit he is swearing to
whoever is given him property that he'sgoing to get it to the right people,
and the right people are the parents. So then after he fills that
out and it's blessed, he cango to the bink and actually get the
money. Correct. Yep, yep. Okay, Now, Miles, do
(01:57:40):
you have any specific questions? Doyou think it would be easier for me?
I do have a state planning lawyerthat did my parents will in our
POAs. Do you think it wouldprobably be best for me to have them
do it? And it sounds likeit's a pretty simple process, Dan,
(01:58:01):
what does this normally cost in time? A few hours of an attorney's time
or what? Yeah, I meanthat's you know, but that could be
over a thousand bucks right to dothat. So, I mean, you
know they could do it, wecould do it, but you could give
it a shot first. I mean, it's like if the bank gives you
the money, then you know, there's not really anything to be concerned about.
(01:58:21):
They might if they're putting up barriersor asking for more information than you
able to give, and then youmight want to bring an attorney in,
but you could give it a shot. It's designed to be something that people
can do without an attorney, includingthe vehicle. The vehicle, the DMV
is surprisingly cooperative in these situations. They have their own version of the smallest
(01:58:44):
State Affidavit, so you'd actually doone with them, And if you go
online and probably google Colorado DMVs SmallestState Affidavit, it will come up.
It is specific to them, andthen there's a more general smalle State Affidavit
for everything else. What do youthink else? Sounds good? You'd try
it on your own first, andif you ever need to get a hold
of mackenzie, it's co Plans dotco or eight three three co plans eight
(01:59:12):
three three co plans. Thank youfor calling three O three seven to one
three talk seven one three eight twofive five. Now I want to get
to uh, let's see. Ohyeah, Jennifer, go ahead. Gap
insurance? What's going on? Jennifer? Hey Tom, Hi, what's going
on? Jennifer? Well, Iam it's just taking forever for GAP insurance
(01:59:33):
to pay on a total car.Okay, So if you had a total
car with GAP on it, andwhat was the gap? How much was
the gap? In other words, how much are you waiting on? Well,
the payoff at the time of thethe payoff after a regular insurance paid.
(01:59:55):
Now, what what was your loan? Yeah? Yeah, what was
the balance left on your loan afteryour regular insurance paid the value of the
car somewhere over a little over seventhousand waiting, you had that much gap.
You had a seven thousand dollars gapafter your insurance paid. Yes,
because there was another car loan rolledinto it at the time of purchase.
(02:00:21):
Well, they don't pay for that. They only pay for a true gap.
Now, let me explain how thatworks. A lot of people think
gap insurance is stupid insurance, meaningthat if I overpaid for a car time
and time again and kept rolling inthe old car to the new ones,
I am going to be covered andyou're not going to be covered. See
(02:00:43):
that is the biggest misunderstanding with gapinsurance. Gap will pay for that particular
car purchased at whatever price you purchasedit and minus whatever. Okay, it'll
but it doesn't pay for previous purchases. And that's really what happens with the
(02:01:04):
negative excuse me, the negative equitysnowball, meaning some people they trade a
car in and they owe so muchon the car that they actually their next
car goes in with a negative snowball, and that negative snowball keeps getting bigger
and bigger. Yeah, but that'snot what happened in this situation. The
(02:01:26):
dealership in Welld County, by theway, that that we bought the original
car from, it was kind ofa kind of a you know, get
me to him from places car.It wasn't a big purchase. This was
for my son. So what wasthe value of the car? Because they're
only going to go a certain percentageabove. I just want to make sure
(02:01:46):
they're not screwing around with you becausethey're not going to cover you. What
is the percentage above value that you'regoing for? Is it one hundred and
five percent, one hundred and tenpercent? What does that represent? That
balance? I don't know, Tom, but well I'll just real quick tell
you that the dealership that sold theoriginal car car the car the engine blew
(02:02:08):
up or something after just a fewmonths after he had it, and they
were at least willing to get usinto another car, and they paid half
of what was still owed, whichwas like eight thousand dollars on that car,
because it was an eight thousand dollarscar when we got it, and
so they they worked with us.They paid half of that and they rolled
the other half into this loan onthis new car. This Kia. So
(02:02:30):
why do you think they're going topay for eight thousand dollars of an old
car? I don't. I don'tthey did that. And that's that's getting
into the weeds a little bit becausethey but it's probably why they're not paying
you. It's probably why they're notpaying you. But it's been in review.
It's been in final review with thethe Gap insurance place since March ninth,
(02:02:54):
and that's a long time to bein final review. If they're not,
I don't care. I guess you'renot really hearing what I'm saying,
are you. They're not going topay you for the old car? Well,
can they pay me whatever they owe? I mean, yeah, hold
on, yes, hold on,It depends on it depends the Kiya.
(02:03:17):
They will only go about what,at the very most, one hundred and
twenty five percent of value. That'swhy I'm asking you. At the time
of the wreck, what was thevalue of the car? Peeks? And
it was a Hundaikona, not aKia. Sorry, okay. If it's
(02:03:40):
a Hyundai Kona, you have tofigure out. Let's just put it to
numbers. What did you pay forthe damn car? And I don't mean
with the negative snowball. Well,I have to I have to look back.
I just called you on a whim. I'd have to go pull the
paper. Okay, if you reallywant help, I'll help help you.
But let's just say the car wasworth at the time of the wreck twenty
(02:04:04):
two thousand. Does that sound likeit was worth way more? Or is
that about right? That's about right. Let's just say it was. Then
you times that by one twenty fivepercent, and you come up with twenty
seven to five. So if itwas if your loan, if your loan
(02:04:26):
was twenty five, they'll pay youtwenty five hundred. If your loan was
twenty seven, five or thirty, they're not going to pay you anything.
They're only going to pay the valueof that car and a buffer. They're
not paying for past mistakes. Iguarantee you that is what's hanging you up
(02:04:49):
right now. I see what you'resaying. Now. It's because people think
gap insurance is stupid insurance. Itis not, you know, it's I
guess the stupidity comes in at buyingfrom that dealership and then buying a new
(02:05:12):
car and letting you know. Ijust couldn't see paying eight thousand dollars on
a car that the engine blew upand there was no I'm not I'm not
I'm not chastising you for I'm notchastising you for what you did. But
the insurance company doesn't take doesn't payfor that. They don't pay for past
mistakes, they don't pay for previousvehicles. And that's in essence what you're
(02:05:36):
doing. You're asking them to paybecause it's right around the same amount,
seven grand, they're not going topay it. I'm shocked if you get
a payment. I'm sorry to tellyou that. But once you get the
figures, call us back and we'rehappy to go over it with you.

what's going on with you and yoursewer? Susan, welcome, Thank
you, Tom, and I appreciateyour help. I'm a seventy seven single
Denver citizen living in my home whichI've owned for all most of those years
(02:07:12):
thirty years. Huh. And inMarch, the Denver Sewer section of the
water company in Denver did an alleyscope of the main line down the center
of the alley to show that mypipe where it enters the main pipe in
(02:07:33):
the alley was cracked with roots goinginto it. Now across the alley from
in the back my neighbor's Christmas tree, which has been therefore before I moved
here in the ground and has grownmassively. Rady City usually call on Denver
(02:07:54):
and New York City would love tohave that Christmas tree. It is so
mammoth and beautiful, but it hascracked the pavement in the alley from her
back part of the alley to myyard, and there are no other trees
around. I don't have trees.I have concrete back there against my back
(02:08:16):
sense. And yet they are threateningme. The sewer company is threatening me
for that public access area that Ihave to pay fifty two hundred dollars to
fix my sewer line, that hertree. Okay, Susan, Susan,
I know where you're coming from.Let me explain some stuff without taking It's
(02:08:37):
going to be difficult to understand becauseit's not going to be logical. But
I have to tell you this, this is really important. Again. I
have to smack people sometimes straight upwith truth and facts. Not what you
think should be done, but whatis fact, and that is this tree.
Roots are God's roots. Your neighbordid nothing negligent. Your neighbor is
(02:09:00):
not responsible for them, especially fora tree that's been there one hundred years.
Your neighbor would only be responsible ifshe went out there with a jackhammer
and somehow screwed up your sewer line. No matter what you think, it
will never happen. You will neverhold someone else responsible because of their tree
roots. Now, in a perfectworld, a sustainable sewer can withstand some
(02:09:26):
root pressure. But even if itcan't, you can't blame the tree's property
owner. You can't. It willnever happen. Number two. Okay,
but here's the issue. Your serviceline needs to be replaced. You're the
(02:09:46):
only one responsible for that. Noone else is, even in a public
thoroughfare where that's right, that's right, that's right. You're responsible from your
home to the sewer main, evenif it goes across public property. Yes,
you are, Susan. I likeI said, I didn't. I
(02:10:11):
knew you weren't going to like whatyou heard. That sewer line is yours.
It doesn't matter that it goes throughthat public alley. In fact,
because it if it went to apublic street, you would have to pay
to repave the road and the sidewalk. If it went out the front of
your house and it went into thestreet to the sewer main, you would
(02:10:37):
have to pay to disturb. Ifyou disturbed the sidewalk and the pavement,
it would be your responsibility to redothem, or the city would redo them
and charge you, because that isa homeowner's responsibility. Now, let me
explain something to you. The goodnews is there are technologies available that do
(02:11:01):
not disturb the ground a lot.If you're eligible. Some of the new
technology can do what's called a pipeburst. Without getting too technical, they
can run a bullet type pipe underthe ground and come up to where that
and they only have to dig oneach end. Sometimes you can't do that.
(02:11:22):
Whatever it is you, it's afee. Well for that, I'm
hold on. I thought it wouldbe more. How it must not be
that long? Then, well,it isn't that bad of a break.
I'm told I don't know a thingabout that. But listen, here's what
I want you to do, Susan. If they're only going down to that
one break for five thousand, that'snot always the wisest thing to do.
(02:11:46):
It's usually a signal that your sewerline. What you don't want to do
is be paying five grand every nowand then. What I would like you
to do. Who did you getthe bid from. It's called top hat.
It was referred by the sewer companyand they went from the top of
my house. I scoped half ofthe backyard to the alley line, and
(02:12:09):
my pipes are fine. Who referredtop hat to you? The Denver Sewer
Company gave a list of names, and they said, this particular man has
a patent on that kind of acaller that could replace that that small break.
Well, okay, if okay, that's fine. They do have top
(02:12:31):
Hat does have some special technology. But before I had top Hat do it,
since you've already gotten a bid,I would also have someone else do
it. Give you a bid.Well, they supposedly are the only ones
that could do that because they haveOkay, so because of that, you're
(02:12:52):
not even going to try to getanother You're just gonna believe that, right,
and you're not even going to try? Is that? What is that?
What eighty seven years of experience toldyou? You're a wisdom I called
wisdom? Okay, listen, AndI don't mean to be by the way
you're You're too old for me togive you a tough time. I don't
want to give you a tough time. But Susan, here's what I want
(02:13:13):
to say. Seriously, top Hatmight be the best choice, but maybe
not. So you can't go wrongsimply getting another opinion. That's all I'm
asking, And and and because thereare different technologies, as I mentioned,
that might be able to preserve someof the ground and save money. You're
(02:13:35):
right about top Hat having some stuff. I read about them. But I
want you to try at least onemore, get one more bid that there's
a free second opinion. If youcall plumb Line Services, it's free.
And you even tell them that, say, you know, Tom Martinez said,
I get a free second opinion, and go ahead, and I'll give
(02:13:56):
you the number, and maybe youwill go with top Hat. But at
least get two bids. At least. Oh you know, about three years
ago, I got a knock atmy front door. My gas pipe was
leaking. They dug up the centerof the street out front, put a
pipe from the center of the citystreet to the corner of my house.
(02:14:20):
And they charged me nothing. SoI, well, I don't know why
that happened, because they could havecharged you for your service line. They
must have damaged it or something. But let's say they didn't. Let's say
they did it to be kind. The sewer department doesn't have to do it
to be kind, Okay, youknow, I mean, I wish I
could tell you, you know what, damn it they put in that gas
(02:14:43):
line, then you should be ableto get the sewer line done because it's
not true. Okay, so that'sthe truth. You take this number down
for plumb line and get a secondopinion. Three zero three okay, five
eight six all right, one zeroeight six. Thank you, Tom.
(02:15:05):
