Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hello, welcome to Love Your Body, Love Your Life. My
name is Jenna. I am the host of today's show,
and I'm also the author of the book titled Love
Your Body, Love Your Life, Fifty two Tips that will
Radically change your health. My book is available on Barnesandnoble
dot com and also on Amazon. We have a little

(00:45):
delay again, and I know that's probably on my end,
so I really apologize you guys. Hopefully you'll hang in
there with me if you're watching live, and if you're listening,
then that's even better. Probably at this point, but the
show must go on. So we're here, We're live. I'm
here solo again, and I really do love doing the show.

(01:08):
I want to preface it with that this show, I
really want to open it up as much as possible
to Q and A. We're going to be talking wellness, beauty, skincare,
morning routine, night routine, body confidence, anything under the umbrella
of wellness. So if you're listening, I love and I encourage.

(01:30):
I invite any and all questions because I really want
to open up this show to Q and A. So
how did I get to a place to love all
of these things that I'm always talking about inner and
outer beauty? Everyone has a journey, you guys, and I
feel like I really want to start and begin the

(01:53):
show with a personal story. I always share a little
bit more each time I feel I'm live here with
you guys. So how did I get to love all
this stuff? Well, recently I wrote a blog on my website.
It's on my website Jenalobus dot com. And I'm going
to be starting to write more and more blogs because
I feel like that's something that I love to do

(02:16):
and I can share more of who I am and
share my background in blogging and here on the show.
So recently I wrote a blog called Embracing Love, and
really what I meant by that was embracing self love. Right,
It's about self love. So everyone has a journey around

(02:38):
self love, especially women, and of course I have one too.
And in this blog, I opened up about the fact
that I moved out at eighteen, and I probably have
mentioned that on the show before, but I moved out
at eighteen. I was playing house with a boyfriend of

(02:59):
mine the time, my high school boyfriend. Not a proud moment,
but it is what it is. And I gained a
lot of weight. Okay, we were playing house. We were
smoky marijuana, we were got the munchies. We would eat
all the time. We'd make these big like spaghetti dinners

(03:20):
and eat at night and then you know, go to bed.
And I was at the time working full time, and
I was also going to college full time. I was
trying to be a student really, but it was just
really hard because obviously I had bills to pay and
rent and all that. So again, I write more about

(03:43):
this in my blog if you guys want to read
the full story. But so I went through a period
of time where I at eighteen nineteen, I gained a
lot of weight, and I there was a lot of
shame involved with that. You know, I'd have to get
up early and put on like a nice dress and

(04:05):
high hills and nylons, and it was just it was
a lot, a lot of responsibility, a lot of you know,
shame that I was carrying and to be honest, it
was really unconscious shame I feel. You know, I wasn't
conscious of the fact that I was shameful of my
body or the way I looked. I just knew I

(04:26):
didn't feel good. But I also was looking for love
outside of myself at that time. So clearly I was
living with a boyfriend at a way too young of
an age. I was, you know, looking to him for love.
Within myself, I was looking to food. So I was

(04:46):
just looking outwardly, right, So that came to an end.
And then after that I went through a stage of
where I turned to alcohol and I started to drink
a lot in my twenties, and I was dating another
person at that time who was a big drinker, and
we would go to the river and we'd party it

(05:09):
up and we would you know, just be drunk, and
it was, you know, obviously a lot of fun. You're
in your twenties. I didn't really know any better. But
again I was looking outwardly to a substance to fill
avoid in myself. You know. The saving grace I feel
at that time in my twenties is that I had

(05:32):
found the gym because I had gained so much weight
that I needed to find something to feel better about
my body, and so I had found the gym. I
was running a lot, So even at this stage where
I was drinking a lot of alcohol, I had found
working out. So I was a big runner at that time.

(05:56):
I actually ran two marathons back to back at that time,
but I was just a really big runner at the
time and that went on for years. But yeah, so
basically what I'm trying to say is I went from
eating to alcohol trying to find myself in something else

(06:17):
other than me, and then I, thank god, was introduced
to this modality that I now base my teaching my
teachings on. It's called BEST and it stands for bio
energetic synchronization technique. Thank god I found that work and

(06:39):
it's energy work basically, and what it means in Layman's
terms is it brings the body to present time, so
you're not operating from store trauma. A lot of people
have store trauma in their body from young young age
and they are totally unaware of the trauma. So there's
still living from that place, like I said, unconsciously, and

(07:05):
we're like a big movie projector what we think and
what we feel and what is unconscious, what has not
had light being shown on, is what the projector is
going to project outwardly, and that's the movie that you're
going to live basically. So what this work does is
it brings your body to present time. Again. Everybody is different,

(07:28):
but thank god I found that work and I've never
looked back, and that was the beginning of a healing
journey for me and transformation into wellness and health and
making better decisions for myself. I was still in a
very high stress relationship when I found the work, and

(07:50):
I was also in a high stress business like the
job that I was doing, but I was definitely getting
more curious and interested in how I was going to
take better care of me. So that was kind of
the beginning of my journey into health and wellness. And

(08:17):
then I decided years after that to go back to
school to become a holistic nutritionist, and I just got
really involved in taking care of myself. I started feeling
better about myself. Obviously, I got re signed doing some
modeling work, and I thought I was going to go

(08:39):
into this beauty business because I was growing in an
organic skincare line, and I just got really interested in
taking care, taking better care of myself. The last thing
that I feel for me that has recently just been
a big transformation is more of speaking my truth and
setting boundaries and really being choosy and specific of the

(09:05):
people that I let in my life. So that's kind
of been my last little big hurdle. You guys, you know,
like you can imagine, I moved out at eighteen. There
was a reason obviously why I did that, And I
won't go into that because it really doesn't matter unless
you really want to know. You can DM me after
the show, or you can read more in my book

(09:26):
and I touch on that part of my life. But yeah,
so I just want to preface the show with that.
And I feel like if somebody were to ask me
today what is your biggest beauty secret, beauty and wellness,
be honest, I would say balance and sometimes, like I

(09:46):
know people, obviously I don't have kids, I'm not married,
so it can be tough if you have a family,
but finding some sort of balance in your life or
some sort of peace of mind. And what I mean
by balance is in every area of your life exercise, diet, relationship,

(10:08):
and job. Now, if you can't find balance in those areas.
Then maybe it's a mindset shift that needs to be
talked about. What I mean by that is the story
you're telling yourself. Maybe it's not oh, I have to
go to work, or I have to do whatever, you know,

(10:28):
take the kids to school, or I have to do this,
whatever it is, go to the gym. Maybe it's a
mindset shift of I get to do this, I get
to take my kids to school, I get to go
to this job, and I also get to look for
something that lights me up, because at the end of
the day, it really is about getting back to self,

(10:50):
getting back to what lights you up on the inside
and what lights your soul up, you guys, what makes
you happy, Because if you're not happy in any area
of your life, then you don't have a glow. You
don't and you don't even like have energy to lift
somebody else up because you're not excited on the inside.

(11:14):
So it's like, I guess the questions would be when
do you fill the most lit up? Who are you around? Who?
What are you doing? Yeah, so I know I always
go on a little bit of a tangent. I again
invite questions and any kind of comments. If you, guys,
want to yes, thank you. What are your thoughts about meditation?

(11:37):
I love it, love, love, love, I do, so let's
talk about that. So I'm going to talk about morning routine.
I literally get up and before I hit the floor,
obviously I have to pee. Then I'll go pee and
I'll come back to the bed, brush brush my teeth,
come back to the bed, and I will meditate, or

(12:01):
I'll do what I call central channel breathing, and it's
a type of breath that brings your nervous system into balance.
And again, I write about how exactly you do the
central channel breath in my book. But again, you guys,
I am totally open to connecting offline. I'm on Instagram.

(12:23):
You guys can find me on my website Jenalobos dot
com and I can happily share that breath with you.
But to answer your question, I meditate every morning or
I'm doing my breath work, which brings me back into
my body and out of my head. I love it.
I love meditation. There are three different types of meditations

(12:45):
that work for what works for you. So it's either
like I'm very audio, so I tend to like just
say repeat a mantra and the mad so that I repeat,
I repeat. It's called sot nam and it means I
am or the truth. The truth is my identity, So

(13:08):
it means I am or truth the truth of my identity.
So it's sotnam is the mantra. And basically I'll just
sit there and I will repeat soft sot noam or
soft tatnama, which means the same thing. And sometimes it
helps for your brain to hear different like that's kind

(13:30):
of like a foreign language, so it helps your brain
to focus on that versus the thoughts that are running
through your mind constantly. So thank you for that question.
I love meditation and that's part of my morning routine. Yes,
do you feel blogging is a form of journaling? Do

(13:53):
you feel blogging is a form of journaling? I do.
I do, And that's why I feel, honestly, I need
to blog because I can really write. I have these
downloads all the time, and when I was writing my book,
I used to carry a journal with me when i'd
go like to Trader Joe's or just do running some errands.

(14:14):
And I literally carry a journal because I have these
downloads of thoughts and I would just write them down
and they still come through all the time and sometimes
I just speak them in my phone. But definitely journaling
is a form of meditation. I feel it also just
dumps your thoughts out. I have twenty one journaling prompts
on my website if you guys need prompts to get

(14:37):
your mind going, just certain questions. That was one of
them what I just said, which was what lights you up?
Who are you with when you feel the best? What
are you wearing, what are you eating? You know, just
kind of taking inventory on what lights you up and
who you are. And I feel like it's all about
an individuation process of getting back to who you are.

(15:01):
And so meditation and journaling is something that I feel
you can do by yourself, with yourself, and that's the
whole goal. You guys. I know that we don't like
to be by ourselves a lot. Maybe you feel lonely
or you know, you just don't like to be with

(15:24):
your own thoughts. But I encourage it and I invite
you to do that because that's the only way you're
going to get to know yourself on a deeper level.
And it's really not about being lonely, it's just about
being in solitude. So if you're journaling and you're you

(15:45):
feel like you can't sit there, or you're like your
anxiety or you're anxious, or you just feel like you
can't sit in meditation, then I would say, put on
like some music. And there's tons of meditation music on
YouTube to help your mind relax. So that's the other
way you can do it. I love Wayne Dyer. He

(16:06):
has a really good meditation on YouTube. You can google
him Wayne Dier Meditation and it's just sounds that help
your brain relax. So yeah, so ask questions you guys,
we talked about morning routine. Let's see our next question.

(16:27):
Our past was a path to where we are today.
So no need to be ashamed of the past, right
our past? No? Yeah, no, absolutely not. You know you're
not going to get anywhere by being ashamed. I feel
like you should maybe get curious about the shame if

(16:49):
you're still feeling that way. So I have a practice
that's called take it to the body. So to answer
your question, No, you shouldn't be ashamed of your past.
It doesn't define you today. It's interesting. I feel like
I felt like I was going to write this next
blog about the title was going to be what if

(17:10):
we just lived presently, like what if we just can
live in regards to like what am I trying to
say here? Like what if we just can be present
with who we are today and move forward? In other words,
what if we didn't have a past? And I was
going to write a blog on that next because the

(17:31):
only reason why I share my past with you, guys,
is because I want you to see that I didn't
just pop up here and decide that I have the
authority to talk about health and wellness and beauty and skincare.
I have literally lived a lot of the stuff that

(17:52):
I talk about. So that's the reason why I share
my past stories with you. And obviously I can't share everything.
I have to have discernment on what I share. But
I feel like I'm pretty much an open book. And
my point is is that my next blog is definitely
going to be what if we just decided that we

(18:13):
didn't have a past, then we just lived from present
time to future? You know, in other words, let's create
from now and now? What do we want moving forward? Right?
What is it that you want now moving forward? And
what can you create from love versus fear? And again
I mean self love? Right? What are you going to

(18:36):
create now that you've decided that you're not no longer
that person in the past. What's going to happen from
your life now moving forward? If you were this brand
new person, if you were reborn like a brand new
baby today, what would you create? What would your life
look like? And if you don't know what that is,

(18:57):
then that's the fun part, right, That's the blank piece
of paper that we journal with. That is the meditation
that we get quiet with, because if you don't know,
that's fine, that's totally fine, and it's exciting almost. That's
the mindset shift, right. It's the excitement of not knowing

(19:19):
but no, but the also the knowingness of I definitely
don't want the past, and I definitely don't want what
I'm living now, perhaps, but this is what I do want.
And if you don't know, get curious, have fun with it,
be playful, lighten up. It doesn't have to be sad

(19:39):
or disappointment or anything like that. It can be happy
and fun. And you can create from self love, creating
the boundaries, speaking your truth, getting to know your body,
getting to know what works for you in terms of
health and beauty and everything that we're talking about. Okay,
next question, you have come a long way from the

(20:01):
younger days. What was the motivation to make changes? Ooh,
thank you, thank you for the question. The motivation for
making changes, I feel sometimes, if I'm honest, I've been
kind of pushed up against the wall. I'm not one
to accept change easily, so I have a long rope.

(20:26):
I feel like I will take things to the very
end till I know, like this absolutely is not working
for me. So as far as motivation, I'm just saying
sometimes I've been pushed up to the wall where I'm like, Okay,
I get it now right, I got to make change
or else something bad is really bad, it's going to happen.

(20:48):
So that's that part. The other part is in terms
of like the exercise part or the diet and that
kind of stuff. Honestly, I'm really interested in that. So
I'm always pretty motivated to try something different or feel
better or try a different diet. You know, I've talked

(21:11):
about me going on a raw food diet. I'm always
interested in and curious about what works better for me.
And I'm honestly, you guys, now, I'm really in tune
with my body and when something doesn't feel right, and
it's really just about listening to your body and being
embodied enough to hear the cues. But yeah, I feel

(21:35):
like that's my honest answer right now. I've always had drive,
if that is considered motivation. I feel like I've definitely
have this innate natural drive to create, to create something better,
to yeah, just to learn more about myself, you know.

(21:56):
So my next question, do you like the you that
you have found? Was there much wrong with the you
of younger years? You know, that's a hard question to
ask because or answer, because when you're younger, you don't
you don't know what, you don't know, right, You just
are kind of doing the thing that's in front of

(22:16):
you that you have to do. The thing that I
will say about that is that I'm now not in
survival mode. And a lot of my younger years I
was in survival mode. I was operating from that fight
or flight or to Saul adrenaline, you know, again, looking
for love outside of myself, being really anxious about my

(22:40):
life and where was it going? And I wrote this
in my blog too. So I grew up as an
only child and I was alone a lot, and that
I feel that fear of me being alone has really
driven me to do things that I probably wouldn't I
know I wouldn't do now, right because I don't feel

(23:04):
alone anymore. I'm alone technically, but I'm not lonely, and
so that's kind of the biggest Another big change for
me is I forget the question, but I hope I'm
answering it. You don't know, you don't know as a
young Yeah, was there much wrong with you? Of a younger?
I don't feel I would say wrong. I've always been

(23:27):
really good hearted. I don't have any ill will intentions.
But I did make decisions that I feel came from
unconscious beliefs in myself, you know, doubting myself, not loving
myself the way I should have, you know, those kind
of things. But it was honestly, really around relationships that

(23:50):
was really my big thing. And the eating and the drinking,
I mean that was just kind of I feel out
of anxiety. You know, I was looking for comfort, I guess.
So keep them coming, you guys, keep the questions coming.
Let's see, how can we let go of past traumas?
Why do we hold on to past traumas? Yeah, it's

(24:11):
a good question. The mind really wants to hold on
to the past traumas because it allows us to stay angry.
It allows us to have validation on our behaviors. We

(24:32):
can tell ourselves a story of well, this happened to me,
so I'm going to be this way, or this happened
to me, so I'm going to treat these people this way.
Or she did this to me, or he did this
to me, so I'm going to treat them like this.
And it's all mind. The mind will never allow you
to relax. It will continue to loop you into a

(24:56):
story that keeps you in a state of tr trauma.
And here's the thing, you guys, that you have to
know is that we get addicted to the feeling that
we were raised in. Right, So I talked about the
cortisol level being raised, my adrenaline, the fight or flight feeling.

(25:19):
I was pretty much addicted to that, and I didn't
know that. You don't know that you are, because that
your brain just gets addicted to it. It's kind of
like getting addicted to diet, coke or coffee. We get
addicted to the drama and the trauma. And so until
you start doing embodiment work and shining the light on

(25:43):
the trauma, then you will continue with that cycle because
you're addicted to it. And again it's not this is
not any kind of judgment. It's just physiological facts that
your brain just gets addicted to it. So it's not
that I'm or I'm trying to say that you want
to because we don't want to. It's just an emotional

(26:08):
situation that if you don't want to take the deeper
dive into looking in the mirror and asking yourself deeper
questions or obviously working with the mentor to really hear
where those traumas are in your body, then you will
continue living that story. The trauma really lies in the body,

(26:30):
so it's really about bringing it to the body. So
if you lay down at night and you have something
that upset you during the day, if you can quiet
the mind down enough, meditate, journal, breathe, you can quiet
the mind down enough to feel what that upset was
during the day in the body. You don't have to

(26:52):
name it, you just have to feel where it is
in your body. And the work that I teach obviously
where in your body it does make a difference. Will
it's basically the body trying to communicate to you right,
So where it lands in your body is how the
body's communicating. So let me explain to you. Give you
an example. Let's say I had an upset and that night,

(27:15):
I after calming my mind down, I went to bed
and I felt it in my body and it was
landing in my throat. That's about your talking, your truth
speaking and speaking into your truth manifestation. So I would
just breathe in the throat and you'll feel it. You guys,
if you are in your body enough, you'll feel a shift,

(27:37):
you'll feel an opening, You'll feel some sort of shift
in your body, a shift in your tummy, a shift
in your lower back, your head will be lighter. You
will feel it, and the mind wants to know, well
what does that mean? Well, maybe ask yourself the question.
Maybe we just don't need to know what that means,

(27:59):
because again, and that's the mind wanting an answer, But
it's really about the body, and it's really about relaxing
the body and where those traumas and dramas and storytelling
and the mind lands in the body. So I hope
that answers that question again. Jennalobus dot com, you guys

(28:20):
can reach me there. My next question, do you still
have a skincare line? I do not. I do not.
Beauty Mark Organics was the name of my skincare line.
I don't know, you guys, maybe future, Maybe there's something future.
Thank you Rachel. God bless you, baby girl. God bless

(28:42):
you too. Thank you so much. I don't know. I
don't know if it's going to be skincare or something
wellness beauty. But there may or may not be a
new product in the future. I know that's what my
thoughts are and where I'm going and what I'm creating
out of love. I just don't know what that is yet.

(29:03):
But I love all this talk. You know. I love
it and if I could help one person, then I
feel like I've done my job. So what else? What else?
You guys keep them coming. I love all the questions.
So we talked about morning routine. We talked about oh okay,
so night routine. What I'm doing is I do an exercise.

(29:26):
I either do yoga walk. I love chigong right now,
So if any of you guys want to check out chigong,
it's amazing again for stress relief. There's tons of videos
for neck and shoulder relief. There's one that's called loving
kindness that I love to do either morning or night.

(29:46):
So nighttime is I'm doing an exercise, I am eating
something really light for dinner. I don't like to go
to bed on a big meal. I like my biggest
meal during the day and something light at night. And
I'm getting to bed hopefully by ten o'clock. But I

(30:07):
am a night person for sure, so sometimes that's hard.
But hopefully I'm getting into bed by ten ish. If
I do hot yoga, it's easier for me to unwind
when I get home. So that's that. I feel like
we did touch on body confidence, but I will say

(30:29):
that I feel again it's about getting back to what
lights you up inside. Because when you are lit up
by something that you are enjoying in your life, whether
that be an art project, writing, singing, dancing, painting, talking,
going to a gymnastics class, a yoga class, a painting class,

(30:56):
hanging out with your something that really lights you up,
I feel like it just takes away. It puts your
energy on something else other than body. And I feel
like as long as you're eating healthy and taking care
of yourself and in good relationships, then the body will
just naturally get to the quote unquote weight that it

(31:17):
needs to be at or balance itself out. The other
thing that I love that I will share, it's called
Feldon Christ Feldon Christ F E L D E N
k are Ais and you guys can google that and
those videos are amazing, really like truly, if you need

(31:41):
to calm your mind down, I would definitely recommend doing
a feld In Christ's lesson. They call them lessons because
you can literally lay down and do weld In Christ lesson.
So let's see what else anything. Let's see, so my
new supplements and what I'm trying knew that I wanted
to share right now. What I'm most interested is keeping

(32:05):
my blood sugars level and my metabolism high. So that's
really what I'm focusing on as far as diets and
wellness that kind of thing. So I am taking a
supplement right now called Burberine. It's an all natural supplement,
So if anybody wants to look that up, that's good

(32:27):
for metabolic health. What else am I doing differently? Let's see.
I definitely use all natural skincare ice roll in the morning.
There was something at Red Light Therapy. Let's see. I
put a water filter in my shower, so I feel

(32:49):
like that's kind of helping my hair. And I feel
like that's about it, you guys, any more questions. Let
me see if I've missed anything that I wanted to. Oh,
I am doing Guasha in the morning too, where I'm
I bought a Guasha. It's a jade like Guasha, and
I put rose oil on my face and I Guasha

(33:11):
in the morning, So that's kind of new. I'm always
trying something different. Like I said, you guys, I love
all this stuff, so I am trying something different so
I can bring new content to you guys and talk
about it by finding anything that I love. Obviously, I'm
into it and I share it. There is a skincare
line that I'm loving right now too. It's called Cocoa Kind,

(33:32):
and I did talk about it on the I think
on the previous show. But if you guys want to
check that out, it's that Whole Foods. It's called Cocoa
Kind and it's honestly super good and really affordable. So
I totally totally recommend that. Diet wise, I am some
days I'm intermittent fasting, some days I'm not. I'm really

(33:53):
just being in tune with what I feel my body
needs at the time. Intermitte fasting can be coffee butter
coffee in the morning, it's like a sixteen hour window.
And if I'm not doing that, then I'm eating something
with high fat in the morning and green tea. So
if there's not any more questions, I will start wrapping

(34:16):
this up. So if you guys feel free to ask
any more last minute questions. I do have a guest
coming on in two weeks, not next week, but the
week after, and she is an expert on metabolic health,
and we're going to talk about keeping your blood sugar balanced,
because I'm definitely into that right now, so I'm gonna

(34:40):
have her on the show. Her name is Sophia, and
we're going to be talking all about blood sugar, keeping
it balanced. She's probably gonna get into meal like certain
meals that will keep your blood sugar balanced. We're going
to talk about fascing again. She's going to share an
app that you guys can download, so that's going to

(35:01):
be coming up in two weeks, So if you guys
want to tune back in in two weeks, I'm going
to be talking all about that. She's an expert. She
works with a lot with preventing and reversing diabetes. So yeah,
any more questions before I say goodbye for today. I

(35:23):
feel like this is a really good show and I
appreciate all the questions that did come through. And until
next time, love your body and love your life. Take care. Hi,
