Speaker 2 (00:35):
Welcome beautiful people too, Orgain in Healthy Lifestyle And I'm
Nancy Addison, your hosts, and I love to start off
my show with a little prayer, and I think it
just kind of frames the show with a very positive
spiritual aspect, and in this really interesting world we're living
in and interesting times, indeed, I don't think it hurts

(00:59):
a bit to have a little bit of positive divine
input here. So if you could join me in whichever
way you'd like, I'm going to read the Lord's Prayer
translated from Aramaic directly into English rather than Aramaic to
Greek to Latin to English. So it's a little different
than maybe the Lord's Prayer that you grew up saying.
But in fact, I actually like this one better. A

(01:21):
cosmic birther of all radiance and vibration, soften the ground
of our being and carve out a space within us
where your presence can abide, fill us with your creativity
so that we may be empowered to bear the fruit
of your mission. Let each of our actions bear fruit
in accordance with our desire in tawas with the wisdom

(01:43):
to produce and share what each being needs to grow
and flourish, untied the tangled threads of destiny that bind us.
As we release others from the entanglement of past mistakes,
do not let us be seduced by that which would
divert us from our true purpose, but illuminate the opportunities

(02:05):
of the present moment. For you are the ground and
the fruitful vision, the birth, the power, and fulfillment as
all are gathered and made whole once again. And I
asked this for everyone listening now and everyone listening in
the future, and thank you. And so it is. So
today I'm answering questions from people who have written me questions,

(02:28):
and I'm also just going to expand on some health
and lifestyle suggestions for really creating more optimum health for
you and your family, and really, in so many ways,
sometimes it is our lifestyle and our choices that can
really impact our lives more than we realize. And something

(02:50):
I've done recently, which I did it about, I want
to say two and a half months ago. I thought
about doing it for a while, but I finally took
the leap and I got off of social media and
I just deleted all my accounts. And my children have
not been on social media, and they never wanted me

(03:13):
to share any personal information on social media, and I
just finally deleted my accounts. And it's been an interesting
journey to realize that my brain is actually working differently now,
and I'm much more calm and relaxed and positive than

(03:34):
I believe I was before. And so I was telling
my sisters about this because I went to see an
Angelo for my niece's wedding and my whole family was there,
or just about my whole family, and my sisters and
my niece mentioned that they had watched a documentary called
Social Dilemma, and so I went and watched it, and

(03:59):
I have to admit it was very impactful. And it
is made and presented by people who worked for Google
and Facebook and Instagram and all of these other other
companies that do social media, and it was quite compelling

(04:21):
and it makes you really think about how we're impacted
by our lifestyle and by just having certain things in
our lives that we literally did not have in our
lives twenty years ago, and how it's really changed the
way you even live your life. And I highly recommend it.

(04:41):
It's called Social Dilemma. I actually had to get Netflix
for a month so that I could watch it because
it was on Netflix. And I feel like I paid
seven dollars and seventy nine cents to watch Social Dilemma
because that's what it caused to do the Netflix ferment,
and then I just canceled it, and so it was

(05:05):
it was worth it. And I actually watched it twice
and showed it to a friend. So it was a
very impactful show. And I have to admit on my
sisters and my niece and many of my family members
have all because of that documentary, gotten off of all

(05:25):
social media, and you know it has to admit it
has made my life much more stress free and I
walk around, I experience things completely differently now and I'm
noticing the difference. So I'll keep you updated on that.
And also I've had people contacting me recently on problems

(05:50):
with like nail fungus, and I do think that that
is a problem that a lot of people experience. And
this one lady she kept hitting her foot on rocks
or things when she was walking. She lives out in
the country and she walks these country roads every day
because she wants to get exercise in fresh air and

(06:11):
sunshine and stay healthy. And you know, I highly recommend that.
But for whatever reason, she was stumbling over rocks and
hurting her foot. But her nails started getting like a
fungus infection. And so something I've talked about before, and
I didn't expand on it a whole lot, but I

(06:34):
always recommend soaking your feet in a diluted food grade
hydrogen peroxide solution. And this is something my friend doctor
Artist does frequently and recommends to people as well. But
I've been using food grade hydrogen peroxide for many, many years,
and I use it for all kinds of things, including

(06:56):
I put drops of it in my water when I
rent my mouth out, and I use it for cleaning,
and I use it for putting on like itchy spots
like I live in Texas, so sometimes I get bitten
by those fire ants and they can hurt like the dickens.

(07:16):
And I come in the house, I put my food
grade hydrogen peroxide on it, and it usually stings their
burns initially if it's really strong, and I buy the
thirty five percent, which is super strong, and then I
just do it right in the bathroom where I can
stick my foot or whatever it is. I put the

(07:38):
hydrogen peroxide on in the water and then just kind
of wash it off with some of my uh with
some of my healthy soap, and it will just take
out the itch. It gets rid of any kind of pathogen.
And so I'm having a question from a listener and
they're asking me, how do you even notice any in fiction? Well,

(08:01):
I have to admit, she showed me her feet, and
her feet you could tell the nails are infected because
they had I don't know what what would really look
like kind of mold around her toenails, and you know,
it's it's really quite embarrassing for many people. But I
really believe the food great hydrogen peroxide, soaking your feet

(08:25):
in that or even you know, putting that on those
infected nails can help get rid of that that fungus
and also any kind of pathogen that might be there.
And I use it for all kinds of things. But
I think if you do that on a regular basis
every day, you know, maybe even twice a day, I

(08:49):
think it would go away. You can also put some
iodine on that spot. And iodine is one of those
amazing anti anti fungal, antipe pathogen is even antiparasite supplements

(09:09):
that we all need. In fact, I think the world
statistics these days show that about seventy two percent of
the world's population is iodine deficient. And if you're eating
that white iodize salt, just know that that is not

(09:30):
a way to supplement iodine, because the iodine dissipates when
it hits oxygen. And then that white salt, which is
had all the minerals removed, is got hyfrictose corn syrup
added to it, which causes diabetes. And it's also got
preservatives added to it, and so your body literally will
read that white heidi salt as a poison, which I

(09:51):
think is why so many people don't eat salt, is
because that salt in particular is horrible for you, and
I would not use it. I use it for cleaning
my copper pots. In fact, that white iodie salt is
great for cleaning pots and pans. I use it mixed
with vinegar white vinegar, and it will just make your

(10:14):
copper pots sparkle. And I like to cook with copper
and stainless steel because those are non toxic and they're very,
very great for cooking your food in. And so anyway,
I would throw out any white white salt you have,
and I really highly recommend mind salts from natural salt

(10:37):
mindset were before pollution that have a lot of nutrients
in them. But with iodine, I'm a big proponent of
everyone taking some iodine every day. And iodine will help
get rid of fungus. It's the main ingredient that really
is really required by your thyroid. That and selenium, and

(11:00):
the thyroid is really your master gland. It's located in
the front of the base of your neck and it's
a central It's a central and major part of your bodies.
It controls like your major bodily functions. So your thyroid
influences your metabolism, your digestion, your energy, your body temperature,

(11:23):
your skin, your hair, your sleep, your mental acuity, your
nervous system, your sexual organs, and your hormonal system. So
if you're having any problems that are related to any
of those things, and you're not taking a drop of
iodine every day in your in your day. And I
even recommend this for animals, and you know some people.

(11:46):
I had this lady recently who had a cat that
she rescued from a shelter, and he looked horrible. He
looked like he was totally eaten up by parasites or fungus.
I mean, his hair was all gone, and he looked
like he was on desk's door, really in the vet.
Had told her to put him down, but he was
really very, very wild and kind of would bite her.

(12:09):
So she lives in the country, so she was keeping
him outside. And I said, well, at least put a
drop of iodine every day in his water or a
bite of his food. While she sent me a picture
about ten days later, and this cat looked like a
totally different cat. His hair had all grown back. He
looked beautiful. But I really think you know, you could

(12:31):
alternate food grade hydrogen peroxide. If you can't get food
grade hydrogen peroxide, you could use the three percent. It's
not as good and it has chemical additives and preservatives
in it that make it less effective, so you can
In the United States, you can usually find food grade
hydrogen peroxide at healthy grocery stores. I don't know about

(12:54):
other places in the world. She lives in Brazil. This
lady lives in Brazil and she's asked around and she
cannot find it. So if you can find it, it's
a really good thing to do. And frequently when I
go travel around the world, I may take a little
bit of that with me for me to personally use,

(13:15):
and I frequently end up giving it to someone that
I'm visiting because they may not be able to find it.
But doctor David Brownstein, who is one of my medical
doctor heroes that I've read all of his books. He
wrote a book on the thyroid, a book on iodine,
you cannot live without it. He wrote a book called

(13:36):
Salt Your Way to Health. How we need those salt
minerals in order for our body to even function at all,
and that if you're low in those salt minerals, you
can actually end up in the emergency room or you
cannot hydrate, and that your insigns can't even function. And
so most people don't even use salt on a daily basis,

(13:56):
And I just wonder, you know, how they stay hydrated
or and function. But if you're interested in learning more
about iodine, you know, you can look at doctor David
Brownstein and read some of his books. And I think
he also has some iodine available to sell on his website.

(14:17):
But he's just an amazing doctor and he lives at
in Detroit and really the goiter crab capital of the world.
And so he's been studying the thyroid for a very
very long time. And he says that the tests that
the medical professionals give you for your thyroid are totally
wrong and not any good, and he has been trying

(14:39):
to get them to change it for decades. But you know,
as long as it's serving their purpose, and they're getting
to give people a lot of medications for a bad
thyroid test, and you know, why would they give that up?
Because you know, as you and I know, the allopathic
medical community is one about making money and not about

(15:02):
making you well. Even though the doctors may not even
realize that they were taught incorrectly in school, which is
kind of sad, but you know, many of them are
waking up, and I know a lot of them listen
to my show, and I also use my books for
their nutritional resource guides, and I have in my How
to Be a Healthy Vegetarian book and my book on

(15:24):
Diabetes in Your Diet, I have chapters on all these
things I'm talking about, on iodine, on foods and supplements
that help you handle stress or anxiety, things like that.
So if you go to my website, organichealthylife dot com,

(15:44):
you can sign up for my free newsletter, and you
can also order my books. And you know, I'm always
happy to hear from any of you. I feel like
you're my family, and so I really would like all
of you to have beautiful, perfect health. One of the
things that someone had asked me about is hydration, especially

(16:07):
in this summer. And I mean, we really need to
be hydrated year round. Even in the winter, when we're
breathing in a lot of heated air, it can try
us out even more. And so you need to say
hydrated year round. But in the summer it can be
really really important. And I live in Texas where a

(16:28):
month or two of the year it's you know, over
one hundred degrees sometimes every day, and people get a
heat stroke. Well, I so recommend your coconut water, and
I think you can find coconuts just about anywhere in
the world. You know, because they're able to ship them
to you or whatever. And you know, when I travel,

(16:51):
when I'm at an airport and I want to get
a water to take on the airplane, I actually look
for coconut water because coconut water is packed with the
minerals you need that's incredibly hydrating. They actually used it
in World War II for blood transfusions because it is
so close to your own blood physiology. It's got so

(17:13):
many electrolytes in it. And the word electrolyte is simply
a fancy medical term for the word salt, and salt
is actually just a mass of minerals, and minerals help
you to actually hydrate. Without those minerals, you cannot hydrate.
I was talking to someone the other day and they
had taken my advice on not drinking their tap water,

(17:37):
and they were purifying their water, but they had totally
missed the part where I said, once you purify your water,
and they were using a reverse osmosis, and the other
person that was there it was using a zero water filter,
which is an excellent water filter, especially if you travel.
You can always take it with you when you travel,

(18:00):
and then you can purify your water wherever you are
and know that it is clean. But once you purify it,
it takes out all the bad things, but it also
takes out all the good things. It's kind of non selective, really,
is what it is. It's just going to remove everything.
So you've basically got empty water. You have water with

(18:20):
no minerals, and if you drink that, it can actually
be dangerous for your health. You have to have those
minerals with the water in order for you to your
body to actually absorb it. I listened to a radio
show many years ago, and this really hit me as
being just a really huge impactful lesson. But there was

(18:43):
a radio station in Los Angeles and they were having
a water drinking contests and they were giving people bottled water,
but it was purified water without minerals in it. And
there was a mother in this contest and they were
drinking water and this lady, this mother, was winning and

(19:04):
she was drinking lots of lots of this water, and
she started not feeling well and she asked the people,
and drinking too much water, you know, hurt you. And
they said, oh no, it can't hurt you. Well, I
will tell you what if you drink empty water. Water
with no minerals in it, it can actually hurt you.

(19:26):
And this lady actually died. She died from drinking empty,
pure water without the minerals. You have to have those minerals.
And I actually was alarmed that my friend told me this,
that she was drinking this empty water, and I said, oh,
my heavens, you have got to add salt to that water.

(19:49):
You know, whether it's himalay In pink salt or Bolivian
rose salt, or whether you use the Redman's brand mineral
rich salt out of Utah, whatever mineral rich salt you're using,
you need to add it back to your water before
you drink it and before you give it to anyone.

(20:09):
And I can't just I can't emphasize that enough. And
I've had some talks with doctor Thomas Leevy, the cardiologist
who's been on my show before, and he wrote the book, well,
he wrote a bunch of books. He's also a lawyer.
He wrote. One of the books he wrote was Curing

(20:30):
the Uncurable with Vitamin C. And he was talking about
how important having foods that are high in vitamin C
in your diet on a daily basis and in their
natural form, not the synthetic version like a scorbic acid,
which I know pharmaceutical companies are making now and they

(20:50):
use them as preservatives and food that doesn't count as
vitamin C. That's actually a chemical that is per tending
to be vitamin C. You need the real vitamin C
that's from like real fruit, like getting a whole orange
or a whole grapefruit or an apple or something of
that sort. But he said that drinking this empty water

(21:14):
was much more dangerous than having too much vitamin C.
And and so anyway, I want you to take that
to heart and realize that coconut water is one of
the best hydrating fluids you can get, and it's usually
available around the world, and it's usually pretty pure, especially

(21:37):
if you can get it right out of the coconut.
In fact, here in Texas, in the country where I live,
what's funny is they just started selling coconuts at my
local tiny grocery store, which I just find amazing because
I've been buying those and I think the coconut water
out of them is fantastic. But I had some doctors

(22:00):
share with me many years ago that this will actually
cure a heat stroke and that if anybody does have
a heat stroke, you should give them a coconut water
IV and it will it will help stop that heat stroke,
it will help them heal, and also it helps if
anyone's in a coma. Also, if someone's in a coma,

(22:23):
you can do a vitamin C IV for them and
that will also bring them out of a coma. Though
I don't know if anybody's dealing with that, but that's
just a little, little known thing that you can do
that is incredibly important. And doctor Thomas Levy's book Hearing
the Uncurable with Vitamin C is when I highly recommend.

(22:46):
He also wrote another book called Reversing Disease with Magnesium,
And I think you know, if you do not have
magnesium in your body, which is a water soluble mineral
that you you're inate out of every six hours, then
your body literally cannot even use its vitamin D even
if you have it, and your body simply can't function

(23:10):
and you can be stressed out, you can have messle fatigue,
you and have all kinds of health problems if you
are low in magnesium. And there are like seven or
eight different types of magnesium, So I take one that
is a combination of all of at least seven of them.
And I just find it is really really important for

(23:30):
your health. And so doctor Leevy says that you know,
you really need vitamin C every day because it escorts
toxins out of your cells and it's water soluble, so
you need to have it about every six hours. And
many people who I know are having eyesight trouble. There
have been studies that show that a huge major part

(23:50):
of your eyeball, your eye is vitamin C. And they
did some studies and found that people that at least
a thousand milligrams five hundred in the morning five hundred
in the afternoon mailograms of vitamin C every day, their
eyes healed and it prevented cataracts. So you know, make

(24:13):
sure this is not something that is insignificant. This is
very significant. And Linus Paul Win and Nobel Prize for
this way back when, and vitamin C is critically important
for our health and well being. And don't underestimate the
power of just eating real food every day. You know,

(24:36):
I try to make sure I eat a piece of
whole fruit in its real form twice a day, when
in the morning and when the evening, I try to
eat more, but I try to do at least one
piece of citrus fruit and maybe one apple or another
type of fruit like a mango or something. But you know,
if you can find fresh, real food to eat and

(24:59):
try to get that nutrition from that, and that's important
for your animals too. And I counsel people for their health,
and I also cancel people for their animals health too,
So you know, I'd love for you to contact me
if you need any suggestions for reversing diseases. And you know,

(25:19):
cancer and diabetes or these things like that are really
my specialty. So anyway, if you want to eat some
foods that reduce anxiety and help you feel more relaxed
and better, then you might try eating some yellow and
orange fruits and vegetables like papayas or red bell peppers.

(25:41):
You know, I mentioned bell peppers, bell peppers. You know,
do what I would like to tell you to avoid
green bell peppers. They are not ripe. You should always
eat yellow, orange or red bell peppers. If you're eating
bell peppers, you want to avoid eating foods that are
not ripe. If they're ripe and they're fine ripened or

(26:03):
tree ripened and they have natural sel vestols in them
that have natural disease fighting attributes to them, and so
you know, try to get foods like that because they're
going to be in high vitamin A, high invitamin C,
they're going to have some B vitamins, and these really
help with your mood and your energy and repairing your

(26:26):
cells from the image. And then certain greens like basil
or arugula, those are really really good for you as well,
and they're high end B vitamins. And sunflower seeds or
sprouted pumpkin seeds, those are wonderful snack foods. And so
if you have children, you know, try to always have

(26:48):
some fresh fruit available for them and for yourself. And
then I always like to sprinkle round up or getting
sprouted pumpkin seeds or sinflower seeds or a mixture of
those with some other sprouted nuts like brazil nuts, which
have selenium in them, which are a major reason for

(27:10):
being major contributor contribution contributor to you thyroid health and
your overall health. So, you know, that's just a few
little suggestions there for that. But one of the things
I've been asked recently was, you know, why why is

(27:31):
organic important and what is the deal with GMOs and
why should we avoid genetically modified foods? Well, and I'll
tell you there were many many studies back in the
nineteen nineties by doctor R. Pad who's Zophi. I'm not
sure if I'm spelling that right, but they published his

(27:52):
information on responsible technology, and he did an article. There
was an article written about his work called Impacts of
GMOs on Animals. Well, animals molecular structure is really identical
to ours, and so whatever happens to them, we know

(28:13):
it's going to happen to us. So he did numerous
animal feeding studies with verified GMOs GMO foods, and he
did them specifically with rats, which are genetically identical really
to people. They are molecularly identical to people. So rats

(28:33):
fed genetically modified potatoes showed potentially pre cancerous cell growths
in their digestive track, smaller brains, they had smaller livers, testicles,
partial atrophy of their liver, damaged immune system for ten days.
And because of the unique nature of his research design,

(28:55):
he was able to conclude that these problems resulted from
the generic process of genetic engineering and not the particular
gene that was inserted into the potatoes, and the more
recent research shows a wide range of problems including organ damage,
reproductive problems, immune system activation, premature death, tumors, and cancer.

(29:21):
And then there was another study on animals that were
fed genetically modified foods and they showed huge organ damage,
potential pre cancerous cell growth, damage to immune systems, allergies
and more due to the genetically modified food. And so

(29:43):
you know, if you switch to an organic diet, you
can reduce the risk of health problems. And I would
recommend that for your pets as well, because obviously it
applies to all of us, right and our animal are
part of our family, and many of them are, you know,

(30:04):
all we have, especially as you get older if you
have no family. So anyway, that's that why I recommend organic, organic, organic,
And that's the name of my show and my business
and everything, because I feel like it's the most important thing.
It's you know, the way the divine creator made it
and it was perfect, so why should we mess it up? Anyway.

(30:26):
So I have another question here from a listener, and
they're asking, if you freeze watermelon, is it still the
same and nutritional value? Well, I think if you freeze
food and I've have researched this. It preserves most of
the nutrients, and it does preserve the vitamin C. I

(30:47):
suppose it also, would you know, depend on how long
you're freezing it for and you know how you're defrosting
it or eating it. So I would say it's you know,
it's a safe bet that it will have some nutrition
in it as well as some vitamin C. But I

(31:08):
always believe that fresh is always best, and so if
you can eat seasonally and locally and organically, I think,
you know, those are my main things that I like
to stress for. You know, everybody, even your animals, you know,
try to go to local farmers' markets. Get to know
your local farmers. Many of them may be growing organically,

(31:31):
but they can't afford the thousands of dollars that the
United States requires for them to be certified. So, you know,
I've found many organic farmers in my area and they're
not certified. But I've gotten to know these people, and
I know for a fact they're using you know, heirloom
and organic seeds. They're not using any kind of pesticide

(31:55):
or herbicide or toxic chemicals on their crops. And so
get to know some of these folks and buy locally
and start your own garden, and you know, really you
could just change your life. And then one of the
things that I think is critically important to address is sugar.

(32:17):
So I know so many people that are sugar addicts.
Many of my best friends are sugar addicts. And really
it's it's quite crazy how much sugar people really do eat.
And frequently they won't like something that's kind of bitter
because their taste spuds are so adjusted to this sweet,

(32:38):
sweet sweetness. And I have to admit I was a
sugar addict growing up, and I didn't know any better,
and my parents didn't know any better, and my doctor
actually kind of suggested it to us and I. In fact,
it was in high school I got diagnosed with the
generative eye disease and told I was going to go blind,

(33:00):
and I was told that I was pre diabetic. And
it was my medical doctor that suggested I drink sugar
free doctor pepper instead of regular doctor pepper. He said
it would be better for me. Well, number one, sugar
is an addictive drug, and if you give the body
an artificial energy sure surge like sugar, then the body

(33:25):
can begin to crave that energy and it builds. It's
just exactly like a drug. So what I had to
do when what I did when I got married, it
was fortunately before I got pregnant, but I just went
totally off of all sugar, all sugar, all caffeine, all

(33:48):
of the SODA's everything. I went off of it for
about six months and I've never let myself go back
there again. And I have people people who are always
trying to push sugar foods on me and gift them
to me, and I have to admit I refuse them.

(34:09):
And if they do push them on me and give
them to me frequently, I will throw them away. I
will confess that. But people who know me know that
I'm not going to let myself get sucked back into
that sugar I don't know, sugar hole that you fall
into and you can never climb out of again. I

(34:30):
think it's one of the most addictive drugs on the planet.
And when they were prosecuting Philip Morris for their cigarettes,
one of the things that came out in the court
case was that the most addictive thing about the cigarettes,
it wasn't the nicotine, which you know doctor Artists has
found is actually good for us and not addictive at all.

(34:53):
It was probably you know, the sixty five other chemicals
put into the cigarette to make it addictive, but they
were actually soaking the tobacco leaves in sugar before they
made the cigarettes, and that was the most addictive thing
in those cigarettes. So sugar is a drug in my opinion.

(35:16):
And people love these artificial sweeteners. And I have one
of my best friends sits and drinks these zero sugar
drinks right in front of me. And I'm not the
food police, and I'm certainly not going to give up
going out to eat with my friends or making them
feel bad about their choices. But because it is a choice,

(35:39):
and everybody has the choice for their own life, and
so what you personally ingest is what you personally ingest.
And unless people ask my opinion and actually want it,
then I'm not going to give it. But aspartame is
one of the main chemicals in artificial sweeteners like nuture sweet,
equal spoonful, equal measures. And I know they've changed a

(36:02):
whole bunch of names for these so that you can't
keep up with it, because that's what they do. They
just keep changing the names of things so that you
can't follow follow the links. But you know aspratames in
probably six thousand products or more, and it's composed of
three chemicals as spartak acid you know, lalle lala nine

(36:26):
in methanol and it gets converted to for malnehide in
the body. And according to the Federal Occupational Safety and
Health Administration, which is OSHA, formaldehyde is a carcinogen that
can seriously harm your liver, kidney, spleen, pancreas, brain, central

(36:48):
nervous system. I mean, if yes me, that sounds pretty bad.
And the occupational health hazards formaldehyde are primary due to
the toxic effects after inhalation, after direct contact with your
skinner eyes in liquid or vapor form or after ingestion.

(37:10):
For Maldehyde can also cause allergic sensitivities. So how many
of you know people that have lots of allergies? So
aspertain can cause many problems, including neurological winds. So when
the temperature of aspartame exceeds eighty six degrees, the wood
alcohol in it converts to fermalnehyde and then deformic acid,

(37:34):
which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. This methanol toxicity mimics
multiple sclerosis. People may be diagnosed with having multiple sclerosis
and multiple scrosis may not lead to death, but methanol
toxicity actually will. So if you know anybody who as

(37:55):
MS and is actually eating aspartame, it may not be
to miss it all. It may be espertaine poisoning. So
just something to think about. Methanol is extremely poisonous and
as little as two tablespoons can actually be deadly to
a child. So you know, think about what you're eating

(38:17):
or what you're ingesting and you might, you know, really
think about it. One thing I've learned recently which is
really interesting, and if I ever use a sweetener, I
use raw, local, unrefined honey. I feel like it is
real food. It's packed with bee vitamins. It is actually

(38:38):
a natural substance from you know, our beautiful bees, and
I think it's very healing. And if I ever do
use the sweetener, that's what I use. Like if I
need to sweeten something and I'm having people over for
dinner and I want to add a little sweetener to something,
I probably won't do it when I'm by myself, but

(38:59):
I'll do it if I'm having my friends over, And
so I would do that, but if I'm baking something,
I may use raw coconut sugar. I feel like the
coconut is one of the most amazing foods in the world,
and I like to use every part of it. In concluding,
I cook with. The only oil I cook with actually

(39:22):
is raw, unprocessed, cold pressed coconut oil. And you know,
as I talked about coconut oil, it's anti naturally anti fungal.
And so the lady who had fungus in her nails,
you know, if she soaked her feet every night or
every day, and didn't matter what time, you do it

(39:44):
with a really good quality hydrogen peroxide mixture of water,
it would help get rid of that fungus naturally without
any kind of harm, and it would just eliminate that pathogen.
And if she alternated it with iodine, I think it
would probably clear up pretty quickly. And I think it's

(40:07):
very very doable to do. But you just want to
make sure that you're, you know, not doing things to
harm it. If it gets really dry, I always recommend
putting a little coconut oil on it to give it
that moisture and to help, you know, it have that
little bit of that fat in it because I think

(40:29):
the healthy fats are very important for our health and
they give us energy and they do lots of things.
In fact, doctor Artists on one of my shows that
he was on, he mentioned that pure coconut oil can
actually denature certain toxins on contact, which I did not
even realize. So you know, just another little known fact

(40:51):
about how wonderful food you know, pure unprocessed coconut oil is.
I know some people like the one that is always clear,
and they sometimes call it fractionated coconut oil. My research
shows me that that's a trans fat and I would
avoid that, and I actually tell my clients to avoid

(41:15):
buying anything that isn't in its most real natural form.
And I think whenever you change the molecular structure of
something like genetic modification, I think it is not going
to be a good health benefit. So anyway, I would
just recommend doing that. And if you really do want

(41:39):
to do like maple syrup, I've read recently and this
was really interesting, but maple syrup, which is very similar
to honey in the way that it is a natural
food taken from a tree in its whole real form,
and it is something I use sometimes when I'm like
with my grandchildren were eating pink or something, we'll have

(42:02):
real maple syrup. We never buy any of the fake syrups,
but you get real maple syrup. And so I was
reading recently that maple syrup, raisins and figs have a
particular type of sugar in them that makes you feel satisfied,

(42:23):
that makes you feel, you know, good, like you don't
brave more sugar. So I think that's a good thing
to know. And also raisins, you know, you may think
that they are high in sugar and may not be
good for you, but apparently it's a really good sugar.
And when I was researching dental health, I read that

(42:47):
raisins actually had a positive sugar in them that actually
can help prevent periodontal disease. So how interesting is that.
So when we eat real food and not processed ones
and not ones that have been manipulated by man, I
think we're better off and our bodies can handle it

(43:10):
much easier and in a healthier way. And I really
wanted to address on this show how to handle stress better,
and I know I kind of touched on it a
little bit earlier with eating, you know, real fresh fruits

(43:30):
and things with B vitamins in it, and I would
say be complex. Vitamins are one of the most important
things that you can do to reduce stress and anxiety.
But also magnesium, like I mentioned before, is one of
the things that I highly recommend for handling stress and anxiety.

(43:52):
If you don't have enough magnesium in your body, then
you will naturally feel stressed in as So sometimes it's
just as simple as having some magnesium in your diet.
And I have a supplement I take orally that has
seven types of magnesium in it. You know, I always

(44:13):
take that, especially before airplane trips because of you know,
I don't want my legs to get you know, crampy
or a restless leg or anything like that. So always
make sure I do lots of magnesium. But also you
can buy like a magnesium oil. I have a magnesium
chloride oil that is naturally mined out of the Netherlands,

(44:36):
and I like to just spray it on, you know, like
my joints at my feet when I get out of
the shower, and so it just absorbs right through your
skin and it's really good for you. And you can
also buy bath flakes magnesium chloride bath flakes that are
naturally mined in the Netherlands. There's also a natural magnesium

(44:59):
mine in southern part of the United States. So those
are two natural magnesium minds. There's one in Tibet, but
I don't think I would get the Chinese one because
they mind other things there and I don't know how
well they separate them or keep them from being contaminated.
And so anyway, that's just a thought. But also, like

(45:21):
I took a bath the other night and I put
some boron in it and some magnesium. And I know
some people like to use the Epsen salt, but the
Ebsent mind was mind out many like a hundred years ago,
and so that's just a generic name. And so if
you're buying anything this is epsin salt, it's probably chemically

(45:43):
formulated in a lab and I really don't like that
and I would prefer not to do it. I can't believe,
you know. So coming to the end of the show
so quick, I feel like I've just been sharing with
my best friends here and I always like forward to
talking to y'all every every week. It's just something I

(46:04):
really look forward to, and I really am thrilled when
I get these beautiful messages from you and tell me
how much that it's meant to you and how you
listen to it, you know, like when you're fixing dinner
or when you're driving in your car, and so I
just want to thank you for sharing your beautiful, valuable
time with me, and you know you mean so much

(46:26):
to me. But there are some complex amino acids that
also help with stress and anxiety and insomnia. So, you know,
having some of the complex amino acid supplements in their
whole real form like five HTP or elf andine or

(46:47):
al trip to. Then these are certain complex amino acids
that are usually destroyed by herbicides like round up ready
they block the shikamate pathway and destroy a lot of
the complex amino acids that reduce anxiety. So if we
can a you know, supplement with those and make sure

(47:08):
we get enough of those complex amino acids that help
with that, Like five HTP is one of my favorites.
It can actually lift your mood without within ten to
fifteen minutes. Also, I use my life Wave patches, which
are fantastic. I use my Eon patch which lifts your
mood almost right away and there's absolutely no drug in

(47:29):
it whatsoever. And if you want to try those, I'd
love it if you would use my referral number one
four three nine seven five seven or contact me and
let me help you wear those in the best way possible.
And I actually just love them so much. I've been

(47:49):
wearing them now three three and a half years and
I've only seen really great things happen with those with
me and my clients. So anyway, you can contact me
off my website Organic Healthylife dot com and my email
is Nancy at Nancy Addison dot com. So as you

(48:10):
go through your life and you touch the people around you,
I just as a closing thought, I just want to
make sure you remember to add that main ingredient, and
that main ingredient is always love,

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
