(02:32):
Maloon Gibson, your Women's History Monthco host for today. Today's topic is
executive leadership a woman own publishing company, and my guest is the amazing the
referenced pastor Alison Daniels. Hello,Hello, thank you, Hello, and

(03:00):

afternoon. First, Allison, Iwould like for you to introduce yourself to
show version. Just introduce yourself andtell us who you are. Thank you,
thank you, yes, thank youso much for having me here.

(03:23):
So my name is Reverend Alison G. Daniels. I am an international bestselling
author of over twenty three books.I've written forty plus books. I am
the CEO and founder of AGD PublishingService. I am a mother, a
wife, a grandmother, and acaregiver. And I received the Presidential Lifetime

(03:50):
Achievement Award. I retired after thirtyeight years of working in the federal government
in the legal field, and Iam a licensed mist all right, Ellison,
thank you for sharing that with usand with our audience today. Tell
the readers about your company and whatservices you have to offer your clients.

(04:15):
Yes, yes, thank you so. I am the CEO and founder of
AGED Publishing Services, where we offera wide range of publishing services including professional
custom interior layout, professional cover design, one on one author support, formatting
and editing. You provide us withyour manuscript and we will move forward with

(04:41):
your vision where we help turn writersinto successful authors, one book at a
time. We also offer writing classeshow to write and publish your book.
And then my signature program is thethirty Day Right to Finish Book writing program.
And now another program we offer ishow to write a chapter to be

(05:04):
included in an anthology. Oh boy, thank you for all that information.
Well, I know you and justyou reading that stuff off to us to
the clients. You have my plateso full I could eat for a year
anyway. You're amazing and I appreciatewhat you do. Now, what I

(05:27):
want to ask is what does empoweredto win mean so that our audience could
understand as you move forward. Yes, so thank you, Thank you for
asking me that. So I actuallystand on the three p's. So I
stand on And what I mean bythat is you are empowered to win.

(05:48):
So you are empowered to win meansthat you have to build up your confidence.
You have to be empowered yourself inorder for you to empower someone else.
And then you have to embrace whoyou are as a person, who
you are within yourself, and thenknow that you are equipped, that you
have everything that you need on theinside for you to be able to succeed

(06:14):
and for you to be able tolead within the authority that you have.
Okay, that is marvelous. That'sa brief synopsis, and that is that
clarifies us moving forward in the show. Now, the next question I would
like to ask you sence you.I know you're twenty one time best selling

(06:39):
international author and publisher. Who isyour target audience and how have you assisted
in So that's a great question. So my target audience is definitely women,
leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches, teachers, and executives. So I am admitted

(07:00):
to empowering and equipping women with thetwos to encourage them to write this story,
share their story, and publish theirstory. So I have helped them,
you know, get on to variousstages, get onto different platforms and
sharing their story and podcasting and gettinginto different fields where they can actually share

(07:24):
their expertise. So my expertise andwhat I do is help them to articulate
and to be precise in what they'redoing when they're sharing their stories. That
is amazing. And I can saythat I am the receiver of several of

(07:45):
your projects and you're telling the truth. That's what I like about your integrities.
High you say what you're gonna do, you put it in writing,
and then you take action in itand give it to your top. Now
this other one is what is yourcompelling vision and how do you develop leadership

(08:07):
strategies? So you know, Ikind of that's a great question because I
use this even and what I dowith my business is three things that I
do, probably for it's time management, is that I focus in on time
management. I focus in on decisionmaking, creating my to do list,

(08:33):
and I stick with my to dolist. And then I also I write
things down and then I prioritize thingsto make sure that I stick to the
plan that I have set before me. So in me strategizing things, I
make sure that I stick with theplan. And so that's how I'm able

(08:54):
to lead others is because I seta specific and then I stick to it.
And I have to agree with youand that sticking to the plan and
prioritizing things. Because this is Women'sHistory Month and women from all over the
world hopefully will be watching this podcast, And I say, sometimes, you

(09:18):
know, we you know, likeyou said, the pletter of things.
You know, you don't just havethe publishing company, but your wife,
your caregiver, your mother, yourauntie, and your everything to everybody else.
So we have to prioritize which tiesonto the time management, managing your

(09:39):
time wisely so that you can dothose things that are priority for you.
And I like to tell people, you know, your faith and your family
comes first. Everybody else take anumber, because if you try to do
everything else on your plate, you'renot going to accomplish half of them.

(10:00):
And then sometimes you have to carryit from your your A list to the
next day to your B list, and then there are other things you're going
to be added on to your Blist. So that is really key and
on point. And I'm glad yousaid that for those ladies that are out
there and say, oh, Ican't do all this, Well, if
you can do all this and there'stoo much on your plate, you need

(10:24):
to take some of that food offyour plate, you know, like take
some of those tasks off your plate. We just had a session. This
passed a couple of weeks ago,and I went to a retreat and that's
one of the things they told us. They gave us a plate, a
paper plate, and had us asegmented segment it down and tell us to

(10:46):
put those things that meant the mostto us, you know, put your
priorities, and then look at thosethings that you can delegate and give to
someone else. And we do thatwell, I do that very well.
Now, So thank you for sharingthose really key points. Now you have
exceptionally succeeded as an archer with BestSellers Award and all of that in a

(11:13):
bag of chip. What would yousay are some of the ways you have
been able to help lead and directwomen entrepreneurs with their gifts that they bring
to the table. So some ofthe things that I would say that I
have been able to And that's agood question. So some of the things

(11:35):
that I have been able to helpother women with getting onto platforms is being
able to connect them to other powerfulwomen and being able to get on too
different podcasts, being able to getonto different platforms. I'm working on a

(11:56):
Last year, I did a virtualthree day summit retreat and now I'm getting
ready to work on a future retreatprayerfully and working on a live retreat that
will be coming up hopefully in August. And so helping them to meet other
powerful women and to connect that way. And so we're definitely on different magazines,

(12:24):
you know, and just being ableto connect globally on someone else's platforms
and connecting makes a difference. Yes, And I like that you say that
that is very important, you know, the collaboration and the connecting when you
have a team, when you builda team of professional women or professional men,

(12:48):
because this is for men as well. Yes, you have the opportunity
to expand your territory. You know, you have the opportunity to network outside
you know, your small group, but you must have a team that will
be effective and sufficient to do thethings that you're called to do. I
like that when I collaborate with youand those other professional women's as we all

(13:15):
get together. We we meet asa team number one first, and then
additionally after we build that team, after you build that team. What we
do is we have the different womenthat have their own magazines, their own
platform, radio, TV or whatever, and we maximize our coverage by working

(13:41):
together. You know, I knoweveryone out there must have heard together.
Everyone achieves more. Yes, together, everyone achieve more. Why duplicate?
We bring our own uniqueness. Butwhy duplicate a platform? One is one
is already there that you can collaboratewith. And you know, some people

(14:01):
collaborate just for a minute. ButI know we have been collaborating for a
long long time before you even hadyour publishing company. So that's what I
like about you. You're very honest. We both try to grow and empower
future leaders, grow and empower futureentrepreneurs, future women and men, you

(14:24):
know, but they successful women.Doctor Madlyn Lewis. She has a goal
and that goal is to be touchingand reaching a million women. And these
platforms that she is doing here, she is going to make her goal.

(14:45):
In fact, she made her firststep I think over AE hundred thousand,
so she's she is going to makeher goal and we're going to help her
to do that. And that's whatit's all about. You know. Everybody
gets everybody gets to participate, everybodygets to shine. You know, it's

(15:05):
no jealousy in there in our team. You know, we all have our
own, like I said, uniqueness, and that's how we we work together.
We stick together, and we praytogether. Yes, yes, okay,
let's all go on and on thatnote. The next question. As
an inspirational and motivational speaker, whattopics do you speak on at events or

(15:33):
conferences or even in the UH inchurches. You know, share some of
those you know, topics with usand any elaborator if you could just elaborate
on some of the things that youdo with those topics. Yes, so,
thank you, thank you so much. So. Some of the topics
that I speak on is empowering womento win my thirty day right to finish

(16:00):
book writing programs. So I definitelyspeak on that the power of collaboration,
and then most of my topics supportthe ministry and or whatever platform that I
am blessed to grace. It linesup with whatever the subject matter is at
hand, and if it's at awomen's conference or if it's grace and the

(16:26):
pulpit, I am in line andin order to to speak on that.
And I have been blessed to speakon many platforms and I'm aligned with what
that is and the power of thestory or the spoken word, and I
have spoken different places. So womenin power to Win is what I really

(16:53):
you know, focus in on empoweringand uplifting women and making sure that their
story and their voice is being heard. And that's good though you talk about
empowered with empowering women to win underinspirational side, because I know you and
the clergy as well, So tellus a little bit about those things that

(17:18):
you do to help women grow intheir ministry. So one of the things
that I have been doing is coachingbehind the scenes. Is coaching and empowering
women to lead with their voice ismeaning that you know, once you get
ready to rise up into the purposeand the plan that God has for you.

(17:44):
You have to begin to take backyour life and start studying more,
praying more, and gain a deeperrelationship with God so that when you step
out on faith, that you willknow that God has called you to do
such as what He's calling you todo. I've also I'm an I'm an

(18:07):
avid reader of the Bible, andso as a former Sunday school teacher,
and not that I'm a former Sundayschool teacher, but teaching Sunday school,
teaching little Sunday School. I don'tknow what they call them now, little
Lambs, Sunday School, Women's SundaySchool. I've been teaching for many years

(18:27):
now and just helping and empowering womento you know, just equipping them to
be able to step out and lead. That's very good because, like you
said, some women said they havebeen called, you know, they heard

(18:47):
from God and they have been called. And you asked them, what what
are you doing to grow in theministry? Well, I don't really know.
They should be praying every day twothree times a day, and at
least I do. And it doesn'thave to be along prayer, just pray,
you know, and not only that, you have to empower yourself.

(19:11):
You have to read. You haveto pick books that are relevant in your
craft, relevant in the ara thatyou want to become proficient in. And
so I say to those women,I said, I challenge you women that's
out there. You just want tosay your call and then you want to

(19:33):
sit in the pulpit right away. But are you equipped? Are you educated?
And not saying they're not educated,But I like to tell people,
you just have to be anointing. If you know you have that anointing that
God has put on you. AndI know, Alison, you have that
anointed You skip some of this stuffbecause you send out messages with scriptures every

(19:57):
day and sometimes you add a challengeor a little task on there, you
know, So that is very powerfulthere. And if you know, and
I like to say, you haveto have the Word inside of you.
You know, you have to haveat least one or two scriptures that if
somebody says something to you, youcould just be able to at least quote

(20:19):
a structure. You won't have tocome through the Bible to see it.
Or you just give them a prayer. You just say a prayer with him,
and I have witnessed you doing that, you know, on various tums
and various media things that we haveshared together. Now, for you have

(20:41):
any suggestions for an individual that's startingin a woman or man that's starting in
ministry, just give me two pointsthat you would compel them to do before
they say they want to get intothe ministry. If they're already calling anointing,

(21:03):
it's nothing you can tell anybody thatknows that they've heard from God.
But there are two things that theyshould be sure of before they step out
on faith, because you know, when we step out on faith, the
devil is busy, yes, verybusy. So two things that you can
share with him, because I knowyou're very experienced in your ministry, that

(21:27):
they should be thinking of once theyget that calling and that anointing. You
know, definitely, I would alwayssay, seek God, you know,
definitely, make sure that you're constantlyseeking God, you know, seek God

(21:49):
so that you'll see God and you'llyou'll know for sure, you'll know for
sure, sure that you know, you know that God called you, so
that you'll be girded up and you'llbe strengthened when you stand out and you
step out another thing. Stay prayedup. Always stay prayed up. Pray

(22:10):
without ceaseing, so that your confidencewill not fail you. You know,
the more you prayed up, themore you'll be filled up in the word
of God. Because if you're constantlypraying, you know, it's almost like
the fear and the attacks and thethings that are gonna come up against you,

(22:30):
it's gonna be pushed down, it'sgonna you know, it's gonna be
smaller because you're constantly in prayer. So the more that I pray, the
more that I feel my confidence inthe Lord building me up. So I
would say, you know, thetwo things I would say, you know,
constantly keep seeking God and constantly keeppraying. Because if God called you,

(22:53):
God has already equipped you. Youalready have everything that you need down
on the inside. You don't haveto seek man or woman. You don't
have to look to the left orto the right. You don't have to
try and figure things out. Godis gonna He's already given you everything that
you need. You just have towalk out on faith. But you want
to make sure that when you walkout on faith, that you know that

(23:17):
you're sure, that you're sure thatyou're sure because people are gonna come at
you from every angle. And I'mthe living witness because that's where I am
right here. I'm gonna live.Yeah, And I know because I've read
I wasn't in that ontology, butI've read one, you know, one

(23:38):
of your books. Unshakable. Yes, Faith, we must be unshakeable.
I like to say, we couldbe unstoppable. If you're called, you're
gonna have the obstacles, but you'regonna be You must be unshakeable, unstoppable,
unbothered period. Because whether you're doingwell or you're not doing well,

(24:03):
people are gonna talk, but they'lltalk more when you're not doing well.
You know, when you're not doingso the you know when you're not doing
well, period and some and thensometimes you lose friends because they hate to
see you progressing and excellence. Sothe devil just put in their mind or

(24:25):
they put in their own minds.I don't want to have to deal with
her, you know, I gotto compete with her. We don't have
any competition in our group, thankgod. But we are connected not only
by the anthology, but we areconnected spiritually. That's why I think our

(24:47):
group is really powerful. Because whenyou are connected spiritually, you know,
have that kindred spirit, you cantell, you can tell who you're not
gonna work with, you're gonna tell, could tell who's going to be a
friend, and who's not gonna bea friend. You know, who's gonna
block you. When you know allof that kind of thing. But you

(25:08):
have to be unbothered because you haveto be unstoppable and you have to be
faithful in what God has called youto do. And I did a session
with one of my coaches, andI was when he asked me, what
is that one thing that kept mefrom progressing, you know, to the

(25:29):
next level for a long time,And it was men, you know,
mostly men telling women what they're supposedto do. I'm not supposed to do.
They put a lid on us.Oh you could do this much,
Okay, you called it the ministry. Well, I want you to do
X, Y Z, and that'snot what you've been called to do,

(25:53):
you know. I thought Sunday School, I did the academy, the Bible
Academy. And the thing about itis when you're called to evangelize, because
that's my gift in evangelism, theywant to put you in finance or something
that you're not called to do.You know you're not. I'm not called

(26:14):
to handle money. I don't evenbalance my check book. And that's the
honest truth. I have not balancedmy checkbook for decades, really, but
I know there's some change in there. So don't tell me to handle the
finances, you know, X yz oh, don't call me to work
with five year old and below.I love kids, right, I've did

(26:38):
my share in that working with theseyoung kids. I did my share.
But at this season in my life, I don't think I have the patience
to deal with young and the noise. You know, they're grabbing, you
know, and whatever. And Ilove kids, but that's not my calling
in this season. That's somebody, yes, call it. You know.

(27:00):
You can't add someone to work withyounger kids that don't that their kids are
grown now and they probably have grandkids, you know. If you don't
have brand kids, you might havea grand dog like I do. Yeah,
but I know you have beautiful grandkids. So I am glad that you
share that. We must be preparedand equipped, but we must remain unshakable,

(27:23):
unstoppable, and faithful to the word, you know, And we got
to step out on faith, evenif at the time we don't step into
the deep waters. We need tojust step out and move out, take
baby steps if we have to,and seek a mentor, a true mentor.

(27:45):
I don't mentor a whole lot ofpeople now because mentoring this generation is
a little bit different. You know. They want to come and take two
or three mentoring classes, and theywant to get paid, or they want
to be in the same position youare. That requires growth, experience,
trial and error, and that's whatI tell them, and I know you

(28:10):
have experienced that yourself. All right, So I am I have another question
to ask you, as a speakerin in clergy. What is one topic
that you could expound on. Andthis doesn't have to be clergy for women

(28:32):
only. It could be clergy forthose growing into the ministry. Just one
topic. I know you said seekGod first. We always have to do
that. God first, Family second, everybody else take a number. You
know that's me right there. I'lltell you in a minute. So all
right, just tell us something thatcan help our listening audience out there in

(28:55):
reference to growth within clergy. Andit doesn't have to necessarily in a church.
I know that some pastors. Youknow they have started with seven people
and they got over ten thousand ortwenty thousand, even thirty thousand individuals in
their congregational but as a stepping stonefor them, so that they'll know,

(29:19):
tell us something that can help thosethings. They're gonna get rich by going
into clergy right away. Listen, don't listen. Don't allow the distractions to
stop you from doing what God iscalling you to do. Don't allow the

(29:41):
things that are going on around youright now to stop you from what God
is calling you to do. We'regonna have distractions every day. Things are
going to come up in our lifeevery day. When you know that God
has a calling on your life andthat there's assignment that He is calling you
to do, don't let that stopyou. Distractions are going to happen.

(30:03):
Things are gonna happen. Distractions aregonna They're put in place to stop you.
But you have to be strong enough. You have to stay focused long
enough to be able to get pastthe distractions so that you can carry out
the assignment. Because somebody is waitingto hear what God has called you to

(30:23):
do. And if every time adistraction comes you stop the assignment. Someone
has falling by the wayside because youdecided to give up. Listen, get
past the distractions, get past thefear, Get past what people are saying
about you, because they talked aboutour Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

(30:44):
But we have to get past it. We have to move on. We
have to press forward and let goof the distractions because someone needs what God
has specifically for you. No onecan do what God has called me to
do. I can't do, DoctorAmisia has been called to do. No
one can do what God has calledme to do. It is time for

(31:06):
me to rise and take my placeand get in position. Yes, I
love it, I love it.I love it. And you're absolutely right.
The distractions that derailments because people willderail you. And you know that's
why you have to know your circleand know the proclimity of this circle.
Who is in your circle? Arethey there really to support you or are

(31:29):
they dare to just dab you inthe back? You know? And and
so distractions derailment. And we knowI don't want to give him too much,
Fred, that devil. You know, we are women empowered to win,
women in power to win, andwe will rise I think doctor Lewis,

(31:52):
you know she had uh seminar. Also, women are and call called
rise up. You know, riseup. This is the season, this
is the year for women to taketheir place. They take their seat at
the table if necessary. And ifyou don't have a seat at the table,

(32:14):
just build your own, grow yourown, build your own table.
I like to say, I don't. I'm looking right now over the pond
or the retention, the river whatthey called waterfront property here where I live,
and I like to say, youknow, there are a lot of
fish in there, but I don'twant but half of that is mine.

(32:36):
I don't want to fishing somebody elsepond. I want to have my own
pond. You know. For now, you know I am sharing the pond,
But you want to have your ownso that you can grow. And
they not only grow for yourself, but grow for others and leave a legacy
behind for your family. Leave ina legacy for your family. Important.

(33:00):
My parents left a legacy for me, and I want to leave a bigger
legacy for my family. And whenit comes to really working in ministry,
it's you have a Sometimes you havea different circle in ministry for than working

(33:24):
outside of ministry or working in clergy, because everyone is not a fit to
be in your circle and you're nota fit to be in theirs. So
the derailment, the destruction, thedistraction and everything else, you just have
to watch that. You have tobe careful about that. And you have

(33:46):
been so good at doing that.I just can't give you enough praise for
that. You have been very goodin doing that. And I I am
looking at we still have about tenmore minutes. I want you to tell
us more about the thirty Day Rightto Finish book. You know, writeing

(34:07):
a chapter or antology. A lotof people say, oh, I can
write a book, Yes you can, you know if you just take one
paragraph at a time. Yes,it may not be. It may not
be the way. It's the verbiage, you know, and it might you
might have an adjective not here ora verb not here or whatever. But

(34:30):
just write like you speak, orwrite like it comes out of your mind,
and then you know, Alison,it'll tell you what the rest to
do. You know? Yes,yes, so the thirty Day Right to
Finish Book writing program. So Iactually am sitting like right here with you
and I'm showing you through modules howto start writing your first chapter, and

(34:55):
I take you through an outline.I take you through how writing your first
chapter, how to begin it.I actually show you what you need to
do to find ideas. I gothrough the time management with you. I
go through you, you know, picking certain verbiage for how you need to

(35:17):
actually get started the content, andbringing you through just finding certain stories.
We don't really realize how you know, there's a story written every day,
someone is saying something that we cancatch every day. And until you get
around someone like myself that can actuallyhelp you build that story or build that

(35:43):
chapter or write that book, youreally don't know how impactful someone that has
already written forty one books can reallybe in your life to actually help you
get started. And I actually helpyou with writing that first chapter. And

(36:04):
then once you write that first chapter, and once you write that second chapter,
you're actually able to continue with writinga book and getting started. I've
helped now to date, over fortyfifty four women write their books. Now,
I've had two men in the class. They haven't written their books yet,

(36:24):
but at least they've written a chapter. Because I actually do not let
you finish without or complete the classwithout at least finishing a chapter, because
my goal is not just to makemoney, but my goal is to help
you complete your story because I believethat you should leave a legacy your story,

(36:46):
Your story matters, and I believethat you should be able to write
your story and leave a legacy forthe next generation because you survived it and
you should be able to write it, share it and let your family know.
This is what I survived and thisis what I came through. So

(37:07):
the thirty day Right to Finish bookwriting program or the anthology like what you
see here. Everyone isn't equipped towrite a whole book, but why not
share that one chapter and take thatone chapter to the next level. And
so that's where I created the howto write a chapter for an anthology And

(37:32):
it has really been taken off justby writing one chapter in someone else's book
or in one of my anthologies, because God has gifted me to be able
to tell to help others to dothat. Thank you so much. And
you said that, you said thatvery well, because not everybody is equipped

(37:57):
to write a book right away, but everyone has a story. They're good,
they're bad, and the ugly, and it might be your good you're
bad and the ugly, but itmay help someone else, you know,
to evolve. And most of thetimes we don't want to go to the
ugly. We just want to writethe positive side of anything that we experience
because that's where it would inspire orlead someone else to grow in their areas

(38:24):
of insufficiency. At the time,Allison, you have been so wonderful.
I wanted to say something else,but I don't know. But all I
could say is keep doing what you'redoing. And this is what I wanted
to say. For those of thelistening audience out there. I would I

(38:45):
would encourage you, and I'm suredoctor Lewis has did this many times,
but we're gonna just throw the icecream on top of her cake. And
I would encourage you to invest ina mentor invest in a coach and your
investment in the mentorship or a coachingship will get you sponsors. People sometimes

(39:13):
are watching you behind the scenes, and I'll give you an example of that.
I know when I first started,I mean for five years, I
was just investing in nothing happening, you know, But I would speak it
everywhere, whether it was a boyscout, girls coup, you know,
the disabled bed, the rotary clubs, the library. There's so many places

(39:35):
that you can go and speak.Once you get your chapter written, you
write a list of different things placesthat you can go, and it may
be free for now. And somebodythat had been watching you for three or
four or five years, all ofa sudden, you know, my growing
up empirent future Leaders, now ittook off. You know, somebody behind

(39:58):
the scenes that was watching me andI I didn't know. They bought several
cases of what I had, andI had him on Amazon. I didn't
really know until I start looking atcertain things, you know, you look
at your accounts, and then you'llsee what they happened. Well, where
is this coming from? God isgood? That's all I have to say.

(40:21):
God is good, and he's notgood to Campbell's Campbell's soup. He
is good all by himself. Hedon't need to be, you know,
compared to you know, Campbell's soupor anything like that. But I just
want to say thank you, thankyou, thank you. And I want
you right now to tell a listeningaudience how they can connect with you through

(40:45):
your social media and how they cancontact you if they want to be a
part of any of the antologies thatwe have been in together well in the
future. Yes, yes, thankyou, thank you so much for having
