Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hi, you love them too?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yes, that's true. Wow, Crazy Young.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Incarceration America's Rock, Metal and Tattoo Festival.

Speaker 4 (00:19):
It is the pipe Man here on the Adventures of
Pipe Man W four C Y Radio, and I'm here.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
With Anthony Martinez of Dark Divine.

Speaker 5 (00:26):
Robbie Lynch from Dark Divine, and man, you guys look
fucking cool?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Are you as good as you look? Cool? Fuck?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
No, that's how we do it. What do you mean
this is a front? We don't even know how to
play our instruments.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Right right.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Actually, I think nowadays it's kind of upfront, so people
don't bug the crap out of you.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
When you're not playing. That's the way I would think
of it.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Like for me, I have had moments where like even
at the last show we were playing in Michigan, I
was in makeup in my and I was like meeting
fans of course, and then I took the makeup off
and I was just kind of having a stroll and
it was like no one bothered me, know, and like
came up to me or anything called my mom.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
It was great.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Well, It's like I've hung out watching shows with Chris
Motionless after his set and he has no makeup on. Yeah,
and we'll laugh. I'll laugh, especially because we're standing there
and nobody knows it's him.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Oh yeah. It's good to be able to like put
it on and take it off as.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Needed, right, you know, because then you could go out
and do your thing and just like be part of
the crowd and.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
No one knows it was you.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah exactly, there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
That's like the beauty.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
Of doing the full face pain. At least for myself
and our bass players. We just wipe it all off.
Nobody knows it's us if we walked through the crowd.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah exactly. It's like Gwar.

Speaker 4 (01:39):
I've interviewed them without their costumes and makeup, and then
I saw him afterwards, like at the bar and nobody
knows yor there. I'm like, I go up and whisper.
I'm like, you guys should put the costumes back on.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
You look a lot better.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
So the contacts yours are fucking Like, why.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Like them all these out of my eyes?

Speaker 4 (02:01):
Well, that's what I was gonna ask, man. I mean,
like I used to wear context to see and I
hated it, Like how you even see those?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
I was gonna say, it's ironic you say that because
we put them in and we can't see. Really, it's right,
it's I mean, we can see, but it's just it.
I have a very limited like I don't have peripheral vision.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I know.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
We used to both wear at one point in our lives.
These like opaque kind of shielded.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
They're very messy.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yeah, and like it's as soon as stage lights hit them,
you go blind and it's the worst feeling in the world.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Yeah, I bet.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Actually during one set, we were playing in our hometown,
Saint Pete, in my hometown Saint Pete, and I had
to rip the contacts out of my eyeballs midseet.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Oh. I believe I couldn't see anything because it was
that hot.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, yes, sweat gets underneath the context.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I'm from South Florida, so I'm like, where fuck would
you do that?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And that heat?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I lived near West Palm in my studio is in Wellington.
If you know where Wellington is.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
I'm not familiar with, but it's near West Palm. Yeah,
we played a respectable street.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
It's one of my favorite places. Now I'll have to
find out the next time you're playing there. If I'm
in town, I'll have to catch you there because I
love last Venue was that cool as help laying that.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Been really close forever ago we were on tour with
Until I Wake Okay, and yeah, just everybody there was
super friendly and it was a really cool time.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Yeah, it's funny because I like the Tampa venues a
lot better, except for respectable like Fort Laurerdale venues. I
don't even like the work of mouns Media like cause there,
I don't like them. But when I go up to Tampa,
it's like, you guys up there welcome people with open arms.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
All the crazy people go to Tampa. I feel like
it's a really good, rich music scene. All the craziness
goes into the music and it's right.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
It's just like and nobody wants.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Nobody wants to come our away because it's so far away.
So it's like, okay, well say we've been in Florida,
we'll go to Tampa.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
For the longest time, I associated Tampa as South Florida,
And it wasn't until I started tourning that I was
just sort of like, oh, there's more South.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
It's like, I keep going, it's crazy, it's more land.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Totally Like, yeah, I don't like to come down our way,
because unless you have gigs all the way through the state, that's.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
A long drive down to go right back up.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
And we've done it.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
We were on tour with Crown the Empire and we
went clear down to Fort Lauderdale and it was just
to come right back up and go.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
I think it was Georgia or something.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
And it's the most boring drive too, Like to drive
from ninety five up Florida, you see nothing.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I always hate passing my house because like, like just
knowing full well, I could take a day off and
go to my bed.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
I live in Orlando. He lives in Saint Pete's.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
So we always whenever we play, like Fort Lauderdale or
West Palm, we always drive past our houses and it
just again it leaves a bad taste in our mouth,
knowing we could have a pillow I we're familiar with.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
So how about this so fucking shaw Shank prison? Is
this bad ass to be an incarceration?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Absolutely beautiful?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
I mean, like I do all the festivals, I go
into her I just got back from Europe doing festivals there,
and my daughter, she always calls me.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Before festival, So you excited about this festival?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I'm like, well, I've been doing the same festival for
years and I do it every week, So I don't
know if exciting is it, but I love it and
it's fun. The first time I did this festival, I
called her up. I'm like, I'm calling you from the
prison yard of Shawshank Prison.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
It's a different vibe.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
I mean, as soon as you like drive up, you
see the prison and you're like, okay, this is like
there's some history here, there's some entertainment here.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
It's like a different vibe.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
So you know, a Killer's Confession is playing this festival
this year. And Waylan, when I interviewed him a few
years back here, he told me about they filmed a
video in the torture room, like because they used to torture
prisoners here, like this prison is really haunted. Yeah, and

(05:41):
he said when he got out of the room after
filming the.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Video, we had like scratches all over his body.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
No shit.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Trip.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
That's kind of a dream for us is to sort
of tour haunted locations and just make sort of pop
up shows within those haunted locations.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Nice and something like that here, I feel like would
be amazing.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I mean, well, obviously we're doing the festival here, but
even a more intimate show inside the cell block, like.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
In a cell in a cell would like I took
pictures of me like taking a crap on Red's toilet
or whatever, you know, and stuff like that toosed I know,
right here and here is what you would have fun with.
What I did one year is I had my helper.
I'm like, okay, We're gonna do some tiktoks. I'm gonna

(06:25):
hide in certain areas while people are going on the tour.
So I did my own thing and they would come in,
they'd look in and I'd fucking scared the ship out
of them, and like they had not because there's like
the wall and stuff like that. Well, you know, you
can get arrested in this prison, do you know how

(06:45):
there is?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Oh, there is an actual detention center out we did
the tourlet right there and yeah, it was like an
actual prison.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
So upstairs in the prison there's a window.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, and it.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Has a sign right there if you take a picture
to fellony, up to five years in prison because it's
the direct onto the prison yard. So like it's like
you're planning an escape. Oh that's interesting, right, We even
got that in media because originally media was going to
be back there, which is closer. And in the media

(07:16):
letter it said don't take any pictures, which.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Begs the question. But they just keep you where you are.
You know, you're in a prison already.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
I know, right for five years exactly. But then it's
cool for bands like you.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
You could be like Johnny Cash could sometimes the inmates
are out in the yard and you're playing to them.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Being at discs, that's a.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Really cool to be able to hear music in general,
just like right, I can only imagine. I've never been arrested,
but I can only imagine it's not as there's not
a lot of music going around and a lot of
live music.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
So I'm sure some stuff like this is really a
nice treat.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Yeah, imagine you're locked up and you write home to
your family.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Oh it's so cool.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Today Incarceration Festival was here and I got to listen
to the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Art Divine Band played. I don't know who they are,
I don't like.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Them, but they were really bad ass. I'm really glad
we got to hear them.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Sounded like they wear a stupid makeup.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
In fact, when I got out of here, they might
be my next victims.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Yeah, there you go, if we don't get.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
To them first, right, there you go.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
So for our listeners have never heard your music, how
would you describe your music?

Speaker 2 (08:19):
And I don't mean genre because that's bullshit.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
No. Yeah, I would say if you've ever been to
a Haunts, if you've ever been to Halloween horrnites, we're Orlando, Like,
we hang out in Orlando, I live in Orlando. Were
very frequent Halloween horrnites, right, visitors. I would say the
soundtrack to that is kind of.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
The vibe we try to give off. We're avid horror lovers.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
We're very big Halloween fans in general, and we've just
crafted our identity.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Anytime we weren't talking about music.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
When we first started the band, it was always just
horror movies, Halloween, Halloween horranites, spooky culture all around, going
to conventions and it's just a love of that culture
and that, just like Universe, it just kind of spawned
our band. And yeah, we're just we're spooky kids who
make music for spooky kids.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
See now you gave me an idea, like if you
play a festival or a tour with Ice nine Kills,
you could come out and scared of shit at Spencer
and try to you know, we.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Were just on tour with them not so long ago,
and yeah, it's a good idea if we ever do
it again, I off to try.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
It, Like you see, you should have done that, just
like randomly just run out on the don't.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Be a sure way to get kicked off a tour,
I believe.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
I know right, you'll have to prep it with Spencer
ahead of time. But make it look like you just
ran out on stage and attacked him, scream at him.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Know it happens precaution of the wind. That's how that's
get done.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Halloween Horror Nights, Man, that is the most badass like anywhere.
I've been to a lot of haunted stuff, and that
is the most badass anywhere. They should have you guys,
like just play there all the time.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
We've talked about that, and we're at this point, we're
just trying to talk it into existence. Like every post
they make on social media, we're commenting, trying to get them.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
To know our name. At this point, it's like, hey, Hi,
we're Halloween.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Now I'll do that too. We've just got a whole
crowd of people doing it.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Not at Halloween Horry Nights.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
But we did find out that our music was being
played at Hollow Scream in Bush Gardens prints Kampa. They
were playing it just in the walking space between houses,
and yeah, our music was being played. We didn't know that,
and that's a surreal moment, especially to find out from
fans were just like, hey, we heard your song as
we were walking through a hundred houses.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
That's cool.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
So I know the guy that runs the one that's
in West Palm Beach, Okay, And it's pretty big too,
not like a land though, but it's pretty big. So
I'll have to try and connect you guys and see
if I can get you in there, because like maybe
that'll be a stepping stone to Halloween Horror Nights.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
We've talked about trying to do like a big Halloween,
just like a Halloween blowout and it's a Halloween show,
like just to celebrate the season and just do like
a big show just a headline and just make shows
for spooky kids and nice. Doing something out of Halloween
horrn nits or like a hounted house thing in general
be amazing.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
You know what you should do?

Speaker 4 (10:55):
You should do what Silly Goose did to get on
DWP festivals.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
You know that band.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah, they did play the parking lot and I think it.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Was here actually, and I remember like they were out
in the parking lot they were doing their Invasion tour. Yeah,
and Danny Wimmer was standing out there watching them.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
And then they played on the stage the next day.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
A real estate that right, So do that at Halloween
Horror Nights.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Remember the night was ending.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
We played here last year and when we were going
back to our van, we heard all of the commotion
that was going on in the parking lot. Somebody somewhere
like got to take a picture. It was like, Oh,
it's that band that's playing in the parking lot right now.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
So like this is just kind of a band that
you hear about in like the ether. It's like I
became a fan as soon as I kind of saw
their mo and just sort of.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Like showing up and just doing it.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
This total old school like for my day, that's what
bands did, you know all the time.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
I love that so much.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
That's what we'll do at the next haunt. We'll just
pull up in our van and just start geting.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
That's what I'm saying. You could do a tour because
that's what they were doing. They were touring doing that
at all kinds of festivals. You could just tour and
go to every haunt.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
We'll just set up shop in their parking lot.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Right, and then who knows like and do it at
Alvin horror nights.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
What's the worst that can happen?

Speaker 1 (12:10):
They say goodbye, they're getting arrested. It wouldn't be great.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Well, that wouldn't be good, Chrispass wouldn't be But you
know either, Look some of the greats, Jim Morrison, Ozzy,
they all got arrested.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
So maybe that is Wendyo Williams.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I think we need to get arrested.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Yeah, that that might you first, all right, that might
be the your future success.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
All right, Well, if if I ever get arrested, just
know it's because of this interview.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Right, I'll bail you out.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Thank you, buddy, I appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
I think my station will have to bail you out
because I came up with the idea. There you go,
anything else you want to tell the listeners that you
have going on that they need to know about.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Yeah, So we're currently on the summer of loud tour
with I Prevail Bear Tooth kill Switch, Engage and Parkway
Drive and a slew of other bands, and we're super
excited to beyond that. We're about to go on tour
with Blest the Fall, color Blinds and Miss may I.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
And we're excited. That's I mean.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
In September, we're very excited about that. We just dropped
a single today called Better Start Digging. Played it tonight
or today and it's just played at eleven. Yeah, I
used to playing in the morning, but it was an
amazing Better Start Digging just release today.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
Available on all social media. Are all streaming platforms.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Nice and tell everybody they reach out to you guys
on socials on the web by.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Just find out where we live and just find our house. No,
don't actually that we have a website. We're available on
all social media. We try to sell merch at every
show we play, and we try to have new merch at.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Every tour we do.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Yeah, they have to buy merch or they can't listen
to my show because that's the only way you get
to the next show.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Well, I appreciate you doing that for us.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
And I bet you guys have badass merch.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
We're pretty proud of it. We've had some really.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Cool what's your favorite? What's your favorite?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
I'll let you take this one because you came up
with the idea.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
Our scarecrow shirt just was like, it'd be really cool
to do, like a shirt with a scarecrow and like
a cornfield, but the scarecrow is like alive, and we
came up with that design and it's been our best
seller so far.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
Love it so well, that's cool. I'm so glad you're
here at incarceration. Perfect place for you guys to play.
Hell yeah, and thanks for being on the Adventures of Patement.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yeah, thank you so much for having assignment.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Thank you for listening to the Adventures of Patement on
