Speaker 2 (00:08):
W Wow, Crazy Young Incarceration America's Rock, Metal and Tattoo Festival.
This is the pipe Man here on the Adventures pipe
Man W four C Y Radio, and I'm here.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
With Damon from a virtue. I is a going brother.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Oh it's fucking great because you're here at incarceration man.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Oh dude, bright Sonny it's not actually as hot as
it has been.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, yeah, like it's so funny. I live in Florida. Yeah,
and I don't get burnt. But when I was at
Sonic Temple, I got fucking burnt. And I was at
Rockville didn't get burnt. Don't get burnt at home. I'm like,
how the fuck do I get burnt in the Ohio?

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Because nobody likes Ohio. I know, even the weather. It's like,
you know, what if you're gonna go outside at your
own peril.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, it's a good thing like you were early because
we might have a code read later today.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Oh man, it was. I'll tell you this. It was
wonderful plant early today.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
So that way we can hang out, have some fun, obviously,
have this conversation Rockville.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I probably wanted to die.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I was like this is right.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
If we played any later, which we played early on
that too, it was we might not have made it that.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I don't even understand how people play in Florida number
one all And I just got back from doing hell
Fest and that made Florida look cool, and I was like,
how these bands Like I was doing a press conference,
I couldn't even see because the sweat was burning my eyes.
It was so freaking hot, Like it's like one hundred

(01:47):
and four degrees, Like, how do you play in that? Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:51):
And Europe is a different beast too, because there's no
air conditioning, so it's you're out there and there's no
you're dead.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Ye're one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
They love it.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
They're just like and then like the press fan is black. Yeah,
you know, like, oh my godness, even what I was
doing interviews outside.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, it's they're different out there, so no doubt.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
So have you visited inside the prison yet?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
We did the first time. I have not done it today.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
We might have some time to do it and actually
do like one of the tours, because it's always it's
a fun sight to see. It's a nice piece of history.
And again it's not like we get down into this
area very often. We're always going by. It's whether it's
Columbus or Cleveland or you know, anybody else. That's like
when you can actually come here and see a piece
of history like that and see what it's doing and

(02:40):
helping with the whole festival and everything else.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
It's wild, man, It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
It's freaking iconic. Like, you know, I do festivals all
over and like, my youngest daughter shall go, So you're
excited to go to this festival. I'm like, well, I
really love it. I don't know if excited it's the
right word when you do it every weekend. But then
the first time I do it in I called her up.
I'm like, now I'm excited. I'm standing in the prison

(03:04):
yard of Shawshank Yeah right. You know, it's like just
so wild that it's a kind of eerie having the
stage and then in the background it's the prison. And
even like last night falling in reverse, and I felt
so good for Ronnie because it's like he did time
in prison and now he's performing as a headliner in

(03:25):
front of a prison.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Insane trip.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yes, But then I don't know if you know, but
there's a live prison right next door. And there could
have been during your set inmates out in the yard
listening to your set like you're Johnny Casts.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
That's wild, right, You're finding all those little fun facts
and everything else. It's like, it's what makes these kind
of experiences that much more cool. Yeah, it's say when
you tell people and your friends of all, Hey, this
is why I had a chance to do.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Now you gotta come see it for yourself.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Totally. So now, how are you top incarceration? What's going
on for the rest of the year.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Oh man, we're on tour right now.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
It's the temporary High tour with our friends Archers, their
first headliner, our friends and Rivals, our friends in Dead Eyes.
We're actually taking a break from them. So they're up
in Wisconsin. They're playing rock Fest. Oh yeah, yeah, and
we decided to come over here.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
This is one we'll play rock Fest too.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah, I've heard great things about rock Fest.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
But we go to Indianapolis tomorrow. We have about eight
more shows on that tour. Come back. We're going to
the studio for a little bit. We're working on a
record right now, nice and actually pretty deep into it.
We got about ten eleven songs and we're starting to
see the finish line with that. So we're gonna get
some new music out there. We've been playing a brand
new song on this tour actually since we went to

(04:44):
Europe earlier this year too, to start getting a little
taste out there. Because one of the fun questions is
people say, hey, how you put your record out about
a year and a half ago, and it's like, yes,
we know that, we understand that, trust me. So it
was like, hey, let's pick something that's fun, that's bouncy.
We played it today, got the first Wall Death going nice.
They were a little sleepy. We got him to wake up,
just to touch a little bit.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Well, I know, Slord to prevail. Basically, they said before
the festival that they're planning on them doing the record
biggest Wall of Death ever.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Here adding okay, I was gonna say because the one
that they have online, that one is absolutely ridiculous to wash.
I don't And the way that the stages are set
up today with the barricades, I don't know if they're
gonna be able to They might get right, they might
get too.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
They should probably like get security to just remove those barriers. Yeah,
open the whole place up. How well would that be
like the whole prison yard is one big wall of death.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
But see, then here's the fun part that no one
wants to ever talk about. The insurance policy on that
is probably a nightmare. So Danny Wimmer, I give you
mad props for everything that you do, and he's probably like, nah,
we're just gonna you can have a medium sized wall
of death, just not the largest one in recorded human

(06:05):
history I.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Know, right, And Wimmer does know how to put on
these festivals. Like I've been doing these festivals for like
fifteen years, and every ours I've ever asked, how does
Danny Wimmer treat you? I've never gotten negative response ever.
In a world that we live in that everybody complains
about fucking everything, and so that says a fucking lot.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, getting people to agree on anything is hard, right,
and especially when it comes to music, When it comes
to something that you know, it can have so many
different answers and it really is no wrong answer at all.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Exactly how do you like playing the Danny Wimmer festivals?
Oh there?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Oh dude, these have been some of the best.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
The smoothest transition like coming in the crew is helpful,
The meals are great again being able to talk with
so many different people.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
This is like a literal summer camp.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
I've seen people today that I haven't seen in eight years,
ten years, people that I saw two months ago. When
you're going up, there's people from our local scene that
we grew up with that it's like, oh now we're
both on the same stages, ripping the same things.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
And it's like, it's that's consolantely fucking sick man.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
And how about back here it's lounge, you got the
open bar, the drip bar, like it's I look at
artists back here and it's even different than Rockville because
they had it there, but it wasn't the same here.
Like the artists just hang out and just are having
the best time. Oh yeah, like you said, summer camp.
They get to hang out with their friends that maybe

(07:38):
they don't see a lot because you're both on the
road and it's just a chill vibe dude.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Absolutely, And it's like, man, there's only so many places
that you can go, and it's like you could literally
bump into an idol or somebody, like I think when
we played inc the last time, it's like ran into
a des from coal Chamber and it was like that's
a wild thing its own, right, like meeting Sonny from
pod We're doing any of you right now, and the

(08:05):
singer of Slaughterer of super Vail is to your left,
and then Jose Mangan was somewhere over here earlier today
and it's like.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
And I bumped them for your airview, They're after you.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
It's this crazy as as why like that, I'm stoked
to see I'm stoked to watch them play.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Man, It's gonna be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Oh yeah, well last night Alex Terrible went on with
Falling in Reverse. Oh no, yeah, it was pretty brutal.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
But the thing is, man, that band, they are there
troopers like Ronnie does his thing. He's a polarizing figure.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
But it's also awesome because like I like d O,
their bass player plays in Bad Wolves. Like I've toured
with him. He's a fucking awesome dude. Marka Kubo and
his band Veila Maya again ogs like Luke Hollin from
he used to play in the World Alive. It's like
you're seeing all these people kind of come together and
do these things, and it's like it's it's amazing what

(08:59):
these festivals with this scene and everything else can do,
and then when again when you can see it all together,
it's like a fever dream.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Man. It's amazing to me as somebody that's been going
to metal show since nineteen eighty and it we didn't
have crowds like this. Then if we had twenty five
people go to a Metallica show, that was a lot.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
That's so crazy, man, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
It's like and in my high school there were like
three of us that were metal ads, three of us
that were punks, and then we didn't like each other
back then.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
We still had some of that in my like growing
up as well, where it's like a lot of people
was like you only listened to like one thing, and
it was like I was the weird one because I'm like, no,
I like all of the dupe Like you had the
mixed CDs and it's like I had Metallica to Three
Doors Down to Authority Zero, to the Damned to Rights,
ever was Doctor Trey all on the same disc.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
I love it And that's the way it should be.
Like you can have what your favorites are, but you
don't have to be Oh, I can only listen to this,
which is what I grew up with, Like God forbid
you admit to anybody you listen to something different, and
it was just stupid, Like it's just music. It's therapy,
and we're one big, happy family. And that's the way

(10:11):
it is now. And I'm happy it's that way now.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
And my mom, she probably put it one of the
best ways. It's you don't eat one single food every
single day. You're not just eating chicken every single day.
It's like sometimes you might want a steak, sometimes you
want some tofuo, you want a fruit, some vegetables, and
everything could be nourishing to the body. You want some candy,
whatever it is. But music is the same way, man.

(10:36):
It's something for every single mood, every single thing. And
if you're tapped into that, it's wonderful. If you're not,
that's fine too. You find the thing that makes you
feel something totally.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
I love it. I love that attitude. That's the way
it should be for everybody. And that's why I say,
if we want cure the world's problems right now, we
should just have one big music festival that everybody in
the world it's required to attend. Maybe we could get along.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Maybe the only problem is again you have to try
to get everybody there and that's the problem.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Well you're here at ink and it's badass and I
can't wait to see a lot more of you. And
thanks for being on the Avengers and pipe man.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Oh yeah, no, you're gonna We're gonna see a lot
more of us. Man again, shout out Danny Wimmer and
the team for again having it. This is our second
incarceration we did Welcome to Rockville. We've done louder than
life and just to be a part of the ecosystem.
Like you said, it's a dream come true for us.
But we want to keep that dream going. So there
you go, and hey, we'll keep doing these interviews. So
each time that we pop up at a Wimmer festival

(11:37):
or any festival for that matter, we can just kind
of keep this going.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
There you go. Good tradition, which I can tell Danny
Wimmer right now he has to put you guys on Aftershock.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Hey, Danny Wimmer, I appreciate you so much. After Shock
would be wonderful.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Love it. Thanks you again and look forward to more.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Hey, appreciate you brother.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
