On this episode of the Adventures of Pipeman, Pipeman speaks to Maria Brunner from Musically Fed on a topic that is near and dear to his heart about not wasting food while helping the homeless.

Maria talks about the collaboration they had with DWP and how amazing they were at the Welcome to Rockville festival. The organization

Maria then gives a little bit of her background to herself and the organization and how she managed to set up and get to where she is today.

Maria also talks about the effects of the pandemic and the clever ways they found to operate during a period where there was no events or no live music, with some awesome initiatives to help people in need.

If you live in Nashville, they have a partnership with Ascend, the Pavilion where they get lots of food and need help delivering and packing right now, but also need help all over the country. You can check out musicallyfed.org and click the volunteer tab, or just give them a call, the number is on their website.
Musically Fed was in attendance at Welcome to Rockville, Florida’s Largest Rock Festival at Daytona International Speedway. Since 2016, the Phoenix-based non-profit has mobilized the music industry in the fight against hunger by working with artists, promoters, management, and venues to donate unused backstage meals to community organizations that feed veterans, the homeless, and the food insecure nationwide. To date, they have re-purposed almost 400,000 meals. At the 2022 Welcome to Rockville festival, they rescued unused Artist and Staff Catering, as well as dressing room excess, to provide much-needed meals to area nonprofits.
Says Musically Fed founder, Maria Brunner, "We are grateful and excited to be in partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents and Welcome to Rockville to support their sustainability efforts and help address food insecurity in the community.”
Musically Fed identifies the opportunities, procures the resources, and coordinates all aspects of food handling, transport, and distribution, making it easy for promoters and performers to leave each city they visit with a lasting positive impact. When Covid shut down the live music and event economy in 2020, Musically Fed pivoted its mission to creating drive-thru distribution events in eight major cities that provided more than 150,000 meals for struggling gig workers and their families.
