Donna Demaio: Australian Correspondent on Labor winning the election, Albanese's talk with Trump

The Australian Prime Minister's confirmed he's had a 'warm and positive' chat with US President Donald Trump. 

Anthony Albanese's Labor Party has swept back into office, securing a historic second term.  

It's widely thought Trump's volatility influenced the outcome.  

Australian Correspondent Donna Demaio told Ryan Bridge Albanese thanked him for reaching out in such a positive way. 

She says they talked about tariffs, and will continue to engage with each other.

Now Albow's got a real spring in this step. Obviously

Yes, he's confirmed he had a warm and positive convers
with the US President. Now we know about the weekend's
crushing election win for labor and he's had congratulatory calls
from quite by the way, and he had this chat
with Trump and he said they talked about orcast and
they talked about tariffs, and he said, we'll continue to

engage with each other and perhaps even engage each other
with each other on a face to face basis at
some time in the future. Now we're thinking that's probably
going to be at the G seven in Canada in June.
So Albo said it was a very warm chat and
he thanked him for reaching out in such a positive way.
What we did think was very interesting was earlier Trump
had praised his relationship with Albanize. He had a chat

with the Sydney Morning Herald and he said, I don't
know anything about the election other than the man one,
and that he's very good. But he also and I quote,
I have no idea who the other person is that
ran against him everyone thought was wildly amusing, and that
is Peter Dutton, who sadly as we know, lost his

Brisbane seat of Dixon sadly for him, of course, after
that stunning election win and he was defeated by a
woman called Ali France, the first person in Australian history
to ouston opposition leader from their own seat.

Now the mushroom murder trial, everyone's watching it. Of course

killing three people by serving them a meal containing poisonous mushroom.
Her defense lawyer says the deaths were a tragic accident,
but the ups and downs of Aaron and her estranged husband,
I should say, have come under examination in court. It's

also heard from Facebook friends, this true crime group group
that said that she seemed to really like mushrooms, her
friends have said to the court, and that she shared
pictures of a food dehydrate to this deadly lunch that
she hosted at her home way back in July twenty
twenty three. Also her that her husband was controlling, that
