Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mitch mccannon is a US correspondent. New polling, the Karmala
swing continues.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yeah, good morning, Ryan. The swing really continues from Kamala Harris.
Since July twenty one, when Joe Biden said that he
wasn't going to run anymore, this race has really changed.
New polling out today that shows Harris as leading slightly
or tied among voters in six of the seven swing
states pole So Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Northlina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
(00:29):
She is tied or she is winning there. Donald Trump
only leads in one at the moment, and that's in Nevada.
Really illustrating how much this race has changed. And back
in May, he was winning almost all of those states
across multiple piles. So Donald Trump is really trying to
take back the narrative here. She's been out campaigning with
a new running mate, and he's been having to hold
(00:51):
these sort of random press conferences that have fact check
is working in overdrive. He's decided he's going to hold
another one tomorrow. He hasn't seen what it's going to
be about, but you can bet there'll be some interesting
commentary from Donald Trump tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, what about the I see Fox News is running
a daily banner. How many days we've gone without a
press conference from Karmala Harris? Is anyone paying attention to that?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
This is a conversation that is starting to get more
airtime here in the US. So Kamala Harris hasn't done
any sit down interviews of note orty press conferences where
she's taken questions that aren't pre arranged since she has
come into the top of the ticket, so she's under
pressure their She did say last week that she was
trying to arrange something this month, but she hasn't done
(01:35):
a sixty minutes interview, nothing like that. And I think
every day this goes on, this is actually starting to
build some pressure and it is becoming a bit of
a conversation. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Absolutely, and the void gets filled by other staff Fame.
Thanks so much for that, Mitch McCann, our US correspondent.
