Over in the US, Kamala Harris is experiencing a significant bump in the polls.

New data from Quinnipiac University, Reuters and CNN show Harris is beating out Donald Trump - or the pair are neck-and-neck in terms of voter appeal.

US correspondent Dan Mitchinson says Kamala Harris has focused on appealing to the swing states, as the race is still too close.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
International Correspondence with Ends and Eye Insurance, Peace of Mind
for New Zealand business hither you actually are a Numberlee.
That's fair, but it wasn't because of that Texas for
other reasons altogether. Dan Mitchinson, US correspondence.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
With I say, Dan, Hey, Heather.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Okay, So what do you make of the polls? Do
you think based on what you're seeing, Kamala wins.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I am seeing right now the biggest lead that I
have seen from Democrats in the last eighteen months. I mean,
right now, Kamala Harris, depending on which pole you're looking at,
she is neck and neck with Donald Trump, or she
is a good six or seven percentage points ahead of
him in the latest Reuter's poll. And even if you

(00:44):
factor in a margin of error of three or four,
I mean, that's still given our solid three or four
percent lead, And that's all you really need, right that national?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Or is that in the Swing States?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
That's national? Well?

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Who cares?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Now?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Who cares?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Well?

Speaker 1 (00:55):
It's yeah, yeah, I'm Swing States.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
I mean well plus, I mean you Biden supporters in
earlier polls who said they were largely expressing opposition to
Trump with their choice, And that was my question all
along too. When I see these polls right now is
you know, and I don't know what the vaguae sods
are because they've been on everything. But the question is
are people really voting for Harris or are they just
voting against Donald Trump right now? And I think more

(01:18):
people are starting to vote against Donald Trump than they
are for Harris.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
So the reason I was mentioning the Swing States is
because the Democrats themselves are apparently quite concerned, and this
is according to a report from the Guardian yesterday, quite
concerned that Trump's lead in the swing States is not
enough and he always underpolls in the swings all sex
beside Nevada. I think he always underpolls and then he

(01:42):
over delivers on the day. And if he over delivers
this year to the same margin that he over delivered
in twenty twenty, he actually wins the swing States, and
he wins the election.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
He will And I think that's why Kamala Harris is
so focused on a lot of these swings states right now,
Because you're right, Democrats tend to come out on the
day the vote. A lot of Republicans, well actually a
lot of Democrats also are mailing in votes and that's
what we've been able to do for the last week
right now. So I think you're going to have a
lot of people watching not only that, but the actual turnout,
people actually going to the polls in these swing states too.

(02:14):
And you know what, anybody that says they haven't made
up their mind by this point, I mean, I think
there's two percent of voters that said they haven't chosen
a candidate right now. I think everybody that is going
to vote knows who they are going to vote for
at this point in time.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Yeah, I think this is going to be interesting because
I think that there are so many doubts about the
polls that you're almost engaged right to the last minute.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Day.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Tell me something, why is this guy on deathrow Missouri
being executed?

Speaker 2 (02:38):
When they were questions, Well, there were a lot of questions,
you're right, and that's why there's been so much blowback
on that fifty five year old guy who died of
lethal injection. The office that originally tried the case suggests
he was wrongfully convicted. And you've got a Republican Attorney
general who pushed forward with this against the wishes of
the prosecuting attorney's office. And even a lot of drawers

(03:02):
who were on the trial that decided that they opposed
his execution. And this guy was accused of killing a
social worker and a former news reporter for a newspaper,
breaking into her home, stabbing her to death, stealing several
of her belongings. But they couldn't find any forensic evidence
linking him to the murder weapon or the crime scene,
and so the prosecutors renounced his conviction. The victim's family

(03:23):
came forward, several trial drawers also came forward and said
they opposed the execution, but they went ahead with it. Nonetheless.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Oh Jesus, that's a problematic, isn't it now?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
He did?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
He a So we've got another woman who's making allegations. Well,
she got to.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Say, well, this goes back about twenty years ago, and
it was a lawsuit that was just filed today, and
this alleges that she, along with Diddy and another man,
I guess it was his bodyguard. They had a security
at the time, give her a drink and they think
it was laced with some kind of drug and she
passed out recording studio and she was assaulted and they

(04:03):
recorded her and Combs and the other man allegedly showed
the video to a number of other men, and they're saying,
you know, for a number of reasons, to humiliate her,
and for a few other things. And so this suit
has come out. And of course this comes out just
you know, a little over a week after prosecutes to
prosecutors accused him of sex trafficking and abusing other women.
So are other people going to come out against him?

(04:25):
If I was a betting man, I would say there's
a ninety nine percent chance that this is just the
tip of the iceberg for this guy.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Dan, thank you, I appreciate it. Dan Mitchinson, US correspondent,
hither vitamin D Your beast bit is actually to have
an orange a day with breakfast. I mean for the
most part. Actually you don't need to take supplements. Do

just out of eating the right kinds of things. But
you know, then you can probably just take a supplement

medical protection practitioner. Don't listen to me. Chris Lackson's media
